Liberal Palm Beach County Parents Prefer to Keep Kids in Muzzles

"The whole thing laid out ready to go. And then I see on this Facebook page The WPTV, which is a local media outlet down here in Palm Beach. I live north upon beach in Florida. They're reporting that despite Governor De Santis is ban on mask mandates, not ban on masks. Yeah, contrary to with Randi Weingarten, the teachers union tells people because she's a liar. It's not a ban on massacres. A ban on masked man. His parents can choose. Put a kid. They're kidding. Um, asked why they choose that I don't know, but or they can choose not to right. So, uh, Palm Beach County basically gave the double barreled middle finger to Governor De Santis and said, We're just going to mandate masks. So most parents, I'm assuming just going to ignore this because nobody really cares with the Palm Beach County People say there are losers in the in the governing governing infrastructure. Pompey's people down there are awesome, but it's run by idiots and losers. Palm Beach kind of. Sadly, it's largely Democrats. They're all in Brussels. And I'm sitting there and I'm reading the comments underneath the story. And it's amazing how many parents are on their well, we're gonna call Pinots. Parents in name only who don't care about their kids at all, have not asked any questions about the long term effects of masking their kids for eight hours a day, the effectiveness of the matter relative to the potential negative effects they've done none of this. They want their kids and muzzles like dogs because they don't care about their kids. They just don't the gas. Somebody's talking about killer Basque Has it stopped. Anything isn't really been effective in stopping. Do you have any actual evidence? Real world evidence that this thing has been this masked man they affect you Have any of that evidence? No, I don't have it. So you're gonna put your kid in the muzzle? Of course I am. I'm a liberal parent. Don't give a damn about my kids. I just don't like you conservatives. So I'm going to take it out of my kids. Make sure he breathes in his own carbon dioxide all day in a filthy, dirty mask where everybody sweats all over the place in Florida. Alright, so that But that's what makes you a pie? No apparent name

The Life of Julius Caesar

"Guys julius caesar was born in july one hundred bc in suburbia a city of rome. His parents were nobles in the city. They were well known but not rich as a young boy julius. It was only because his parents wanted him to become a noble just like them and even become a king someday. By the time he turned six his father passed away and he became the head of the household. All of the responsibilities of the house. Were now his and he had to represent his house. In the court of nobles at the age of seventeen julius got married to cornelia the daughter of a powerful politician during that time there was a fight between his two uncles. Julius didn't want to fight with his family members and thought it was foolish so to escape the fight. He joined the army and left rome while in the army. Julius fought many wars and became a brave warrior who started getting recognition in the army quickly began to reach higher and higher ranks in the government. He made friends with many influential leaders namely crassus who has a wealthy businessman and general pompey. Who was the best military commander back then. Molecular Therapeutics Hopes to Reshape Gene Therapy

"So the first rail on a touch on today is from arena pharmaceuticals. The ticker symbol is a u. p. h. And they're sitting in a market cap. Now veron two two point one billion dollars and what we heard about a week ago is that they received fda approval for luke kindness for adult patients with active lupus nephritis and for those who haven't been following the company too long. They showed really really powerful phase three data. The stock shot up really well and then it's been kind of slowly selling off into you know around the thirteen fourteen dollar area and what we heard with this. Fda approval is the stock shot up to around twenty bucks and since then it's trading at around sixteen dollars now. I took a position around thirteen bucks and then sold most of it at around eighteen. And now i'm just sitting at around ten shares in anticipation of the future. And so we'll talk about that right now. But basically what the fda approval there are few details and one was that there was a black box warning but it was pretty much in line with cyclosporine. So it's not really anything to be concerned about. The other real benefit is that the patent protection is likely until the year twenty thirty seven so there were some concerns that the patent protection for arena in this drug was not gonna last that long and that could cut into the profits given the fact that they would lose exclusivity after a while so the other thing we heard is that arrhenius set the pricing and they said it at a price of three thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars for sixty capsules and then they estimate that the net revenue per patient per year is gonna sit at around sixty five thousand dollars so i did some quick math. Here to look at the prevalence of lupus and in general has around twenty to one hundred fifty cases per one hundred thousand people so in the united states that works out to around sixty six thousand two four hundred ninety thousand in the usa. And i know that's a pretty broad range but these are the These the publicly available stats. The corporate presentation of iranian says. That around forty percent of lupus patients have lupus nephritis so the actual problems in the kidneys that would benefit from this therapy so that brings us down to around twenty six thousand one hundred ninety eight thousand total addressable patients in the usa. So we have. Here's an estimated total potential revenue between one point seven billion to twelve point eight billion now again. That's a. It's a huge range. When there's an order of magnitude in there but at least there we get a sense of the kind of revenue. The company is going to be able to bring in sitting at around a two billion dollar market cap. It's definitely on the lower end. Even though this is the total addressable market and we know that arena isn't gonna be able to penetrate the whole thing. But i think the reason why the stock is of depressed is because of the bear narrative in regards to launch concerns so often with these smaller companies. Because they don't have an established salesforce they don't have necessarily those established relationships with either. Kol's or doctors space. It's difficult for companies that are small to really ramp up and deliver when it comes to the sales numbers so the bare narrative is saying that well they're going to really struggle with the launch therefore the company should only be expected to do the lower end of their expectation. Now on the both side. They're saying that well arena could be an emanate contender. And there's reasons to suggest that given that the risk is so low with this drug now. The data looks good and it's already fda approved so they could be being looked at by larger pharmaceutical companies. Who already have those established sales and marketing pipelines to just include this into their portfolio products. And start selling it so. I'm not sure what's going to happen. I'm going to relatively small position. I don't know how much i feel like diving in here. Given the the launch is going to be complicated. But i could miss out on a a merger acquisition deal. That could come as well. So that's really i think. Obviously it's very positive for the company and very positive for patients that are suffering with lupus nephritis but for me. I'm happy with my small position and just seeing what happens with the start with that. Let's move onto rhythm pharmaceuticals ticker symbol are ytm and they're sitting at a market cap of around one point three billion dollars and what they announced. It was positive data from semolina tied in additional emcee for our pathway deficient related. obesity 's so semolina tied was recently approved for hamas egas recessive mutant obese conditions related to pompey pcs k. One and leptin receptor so what that means. Is that patients that for this need to have a knockout in or a mutation in both copies of the gene whether it's policy pcs k. One or leptin receptor. Now what we weren't sure of is whether or not similan tide had an effect in hetero zayas patients and what this is is patients that have one functional copy of this gene so if their drugs sent. Milan could have an effect. In hetero zygote significantly expand the patient population that would qualify for treatment with this drug and with an expanded patient population. Obviously the revenues could be substantially higher than what we expect if it was only the home. Zygote

How To Slow The F Down by Melani Schweder

"How to slow the f. Down a melanie schwager of a brighter. Wild dot com. Seems like we're all moving ahead at breakneck speed. These days doesn't it. Everyone is busy overworked and over scheduled. Our bodies are crumbling under the pressure. And we can't get our minds to slow the heck down enough to go to sleep at night everywhere you look. There's a message to keep going work harder. Do more things are collective fomo is causing us all too much stress too much anxiety and making us focus on the things that aren't actually nourishing or valuable in life. But how do we get off the treadmill and actually slow the heck down or we're constantly jumping from one task to the next our nervous systems get overloaded and our adrenals kids sapped sustainable way of living. No wonder so many an he caffeine or other stimulants to function in the day and then rely on mez against sleep at night. No boy no you guys. No matter what's going on around me and no you don't need to fold yourself into a pretzel or sit on the floor. For an hour. A day to reap the benefits. You can chill out in a comfy chair or propped up in your bed and follow a guided meditation for just ten minutes a day. Trust me give it a few days and you'll be feeling good. I personally love following along to guide tracks from apps like insight timer pacifica com or head space number two said boundaries. To be honest it should be number one on this list. Because i think of this as a vital life skill especially for any m path h. p. or chronically. Ill person learning to say no is one of the best things you can do for yourself and can help you from over scheduling and thus over extending your energy. You cannot serve from empty vessel remember. Don't give your time and energy to just anyone who asks for it learned to set boundaries and devote yourself to only the things that are truly important number three. Put the phone down seriously do it. I know that technology is an addiction. Well technically the connection it brings us the true diction which isn't really bad thing. Trust me might get it. Leave your phone elsewhere and really bring your attention to your food. Use all five senses to explore an experience her meal shoe and swallow slowly and rest for a moment before moving onto the rest of your day number six. Close some browser tabs. "Of course that is the big event looming over many of these small businesses. Some of which were having trouble getting access to credit even before all of this right. How has the pandemic pandemic changed your thinking or your approach when it comes to these small businesses. Do and do you think that these small business owners have a bigger voice now than they did before the pandemic or you think that it's sort of been overwhelmed because so many small businesses are struggling right. Now you know. I think they do have a bigger voice now. I think people are more willing to listen to what their concerns are. What we've seen is that it was hard being a small business. Pre pandemic and being a small business in a pandemic is even tougher as we speak to a black mrs in particular. What they tell us is that they have less cash reserve. They've seen bigger dips in their number of Their employees they're really concerned about reopening And so those are some of the concerns that are being laid out. I would really describe this pandemic in terms of seasons right so the first season was really the season of emergency getting emergency funding. Roughly ninety percent of our ten thousand small businesses participants said they received p grants well. We moved from that emergency season into the season of pivot. We're businesses were cautiously reopening. We had a a distillery of vodka distillery in utah that was now making hand sanitizers and so businesses were really trying to adapt to stay alive. Now we've really moved into that third season and that third season is the new normal businesses are saying ninety percent of them of our businesses. In fact say the changes that i've making today are for the long term right so we had a brick and mortar bakery business. That's now making d. y. i. cookie decorating kits She's now also moved to wholesale bakery. And so that's a lot of what we're seeing this new normal making shifts little long-term. What's what is there another season coming out of this. Hopefully at some point asahi what are you thinking about. Sort of what the next phases for some of these businesses here. I am bullish on small businesses. I've seen them up close. I spend my day job meeting with entrepreneurs and they are passionate about their business when the economy turn turns down entrepreneurs turn up and some recently recently released data. Julia shows that Year over year. We've actually seen a twelve percent increase in businesses filing new business registrations and so might say you know. Is it crazy to be starting a new business in the midst of a pandemic but entrepreneurs are seeing opportunities and they're looking to seize those opportunities. Some of them may be that they were laid off from their job. It was an idea that they always had. And now is the time. The time is ripe to launch that business or could be an entrepreneur whose business failed and now. They're launching a new business that we're seeing some uptick in terms of new business. Registrations.

"I'm julie hyman and indeed. I'm going to be joined by asahi. Pompeii who is the global head of corporate engagement at goldman sachs in the president of the goldman sachs foundation. And we have this conversation as we are about to witness the closing bell for the markets. And what has been a pretty sharp down day for the major averages all that they have backed off a little bit of some of the earlier declines with the dow finishing down by about two point three percent we wanna talk about the backdrop here for small businesses during this pandemic an economic downturn. That we have seen And asahi in the folks over goldman sachs have conducted research of small businesses and specifically small businesses. That are black owned and the results are sober. We all know even talking having this conversation now for months if not years about lack of access to credit for example on the part of black business owners but still these numbers put some parameters around to the research they conducted found that rejection rate for black business owners. Applying for capital was three times higher than white business owners sway. Twenty seven percents rejection rate for those black business owners. Assign a thank you so much for being here. So the ten thousand small businesses initiative at the goldman sachs as well as the ten thousand women initiative has tried to focus on closing some of these gaps. but how you even begin to address that divide. What are some of the specific steps that you think that you all are taking but you still need to be taken young julia exactly right. The state is very very sobering. As you know we've been working with small businesses for over a decade now and we now have a network of nine thousand seven hundred small businesses. These are growth oriented employer firms real job creators and over the last several months we tapped into this data it's really laid bare the pandemic within the pandemic which is racial disparities on. That's bearing out in the small business sector as you said you know black business owners having three times rejection rate as their white counterparts and in terms of solutions as you asked we think a number of things are really needed the first is greater access to capital misallocation of capital. And we've got to change that. If you ask a black business owner you know. What do they need. Sixty six percent of the black businesses that participate in ten thousand small businesses said their number one concern was greater access to capital. Now when you juxtaposed. With white businesses thirty three percent of white businesses said that capital was their number one concern in fact some of them ranked mentorship sponsorship. Labor concerns is higher on the list and access to capital. So we've got to start by fixing this misallocation of capital. And so how do you go about doing that. I mean i know part of what you all do is give tools both in the form of capital but also education to these business owners but one would think you have to address the other side of the equation as well that is that access to capital the people who hold the purse strings and getting them to try to eliminate some of that systemic bias..

Pompeo: Chinese threat may be worse than a 'Cold War 2.0'

"US Secretary of state might compare has bill named middle of Oprah this week you warning that the threat from China good welby worse than that posed by the Soviet Union at the height of the cold. War Mr Pompeo's visits is taking in the Czech Republic Austria, Poland, and Slovenia. This is what he said yesterday. The contrast between free and unfree society has never been clear. Free nations must work together to confront authoritarian threats. Chief among those threats is the Chinese Communist Party and its drive to control people and information at our economies. When a Balkans correspondent guided Loni has been following his journey. Welcome back to the program guy good to have you with us. I wipe out the with Slovenia with no disrespect obviously to the nation itself. I think far enough I mean it's only two million people live here. So it's not exactly huge, but it is a NATO member and there is a family connection of course, Emma and Mr. Pompeo made that point in his opening remarks saying that he brought greetings for Melania trump who is noticeably absent from her homeland. She was born in San Nitsa as Melania canals and she doesn't come back here very often. But Mr Pompey's said she was very envious about him visiting nurse Levin in particular Lake bled where he was doing his news conference but. The rather factors as well. So Slovenia is at at the moment and this is I wouldn't say was out of character, but it's just a matter of where how the political winds blowing here at the moment at the moment in the Prime Minister's office you've got somebody who thinks Mr trump is rather smashing fallow where prime, minister. Yannis Yansha uses twitter almost as enthusiastically as MR trump and spends quite a lot of that time. Enthusiastically, retweeting Mr Trump's tweets. So if you're going to have a friendly audience in Europe at the moment of your representative of the trump administration then Slovenia's an office place to stop off so more than simply passing on greetings from floaters and enjoying a slap up lunch at Lake bled we've just heard there a clip from Secretary of State Pompeo. Making China the real focus of his visit. He really did, and you only speak for about three or four minutes yesterday bend and I think at least two and a half of those minutes were spent really having a good old dig on against China before that. He was speaking about well, he was actually signing a declaration with the Foreign Minister of Slovenia about five G. Security, and this is all part of pushing what the trump administration calls. They're clean network program, and this is an attack on Chinese. Telecom. Companies Chinese tech companies hallway in particular Zeti threatening for the Balkan they've both been very high profile targets of the trump administration and leave you signing up to this five of this clean network program. You'll basically making a commitment, you'll knocking to use any untrustworthy. Vendors in your five G. Systems and the United States is saying it wouldn't have any of these vendors anywhere near any of its embassies went allowed anywhere near any of this State Department. Systems. A lot of come countries, of course are not signing up to this, but Slovenia has and it's got its five G. Network installed by. As of last month, take that way well has replied China Chinese commentators of wounded central and eastern Europe shouldn't be fooled. What would describes Mike pompeo embracing an entirely entirely cold war mindset it is. It is a dangerous thing. Isn't it when you start going into the likes of the Czech, Republic and Poland and Slovenia, and START TALKING ABOUT IDEOLOGICAL THREATS Yes I'm you know he really has gone the full evil empire on? Am You when you talk about Cold War rhetoric either way that he's he's talking really as I mean, as you heard in the clip there, it sounds like something from the nineteen eighties a talks again chief among these threats as the. Chinese. Communist. Party. It's drive to control people and. Information and our economies, and it's it's again talking about freedom loving people and becoming a five G. Clean country as Slovenia has done today as solidifies staff position. In this fight, the tide is turning against the Chinese Communist Party in its efforts to restrict freedom for all of us and I think what's interesting guys of course he's not saying China he's specifically saying. The Chinese Communist, party so he's criticizing the the system of government and control rather than country and the people itself, and that's I suppose the GATT out card But this is the way that the trump administration is going I recommend everyone to have a a good read of the clean network program just to see what they're saying in that and. Quite apart from anything else it does make it clear and not that it's part of the trump administration's drive and it's very interesting phrasing not the United States, not the State Department but the trump administration. So a spot of electioneering perhaps

"There has been this there has been this change it's not one you're gonna hear a much the press is not when you're gonna hear about much from the rest of the media but I'm here to tell you that Pompey was the eighteen I mean these guys not when it comes to foreign policy these guys know what they're doing they understand how to pursue the president's goal the president gives them a very free hand operate and in a look I'm I'm very critical of the sclerotic ossified bureaucracy of the state department because I think it does need to be shaken up but that's gonna take a long time it's been around forever right presidents come and go but the department is forever that's their unofficial motto they are way too hierarchical it's way too stuffy and you know this person that person you know they they they have it's it's almost like they have a paramilitary organization wherever just sitting around you know drinking cheating crumpets all the time but they don't need to be a paramilitary organization because they're really just talking that other part of it does it does need to be there so that the state department itself there's a lot that I think I think should just be change institutionally an attitudinal Lee but Pompeii in his team the senior people that I saw on action that I got to talk to and speak on an off the record in they're pursuing this president's objectives and they're turning Latin America into a direction that'll be far more positive for them and for us now are they gonna solve the migrant crisis the real linchpin and wall that is Mexico New Mexico is not a small country that's just been wracked by socialism for a long time and and had very it has very little in there in terms of resources I don't know if I'll Salvador could stop the migrant crisis even if it wanted to they just don't have state resources to throw at this and remember magnet its age they got a traverse it's like a two hour car ride to get out of El Salvador and Guatemala for most of the folks there it's a thousand miles across Mexico to get the US Mexico border so there's a lot more room for Mexico to do something about this than there is for all Salvador or world for Guatemala first and then for us all the door and you know what I'm on that for Mexico so I do think that this is a eight a turning point in our relationship with the reason I don't know if it'll be permanent along last but there has been a change in an attitude mixing up still being a little because they have a little more leverage they know there's a large Mexican the asper community United States they know that there's a lot of border trade there there's a lot more leverage the Mexican government but trump's got leverage juice so and this this though I just want to share these much that could you know on today show and if you have any other questions or any other thoughts about this by all means email me or or some in a Facebook message but it was out well worth it to have this experience of seeing and diplomacy in action this way and I really enjoyed it I want to thank the team that brought me out there too I thank sectors the pump although we're not done because I got a pump Hey interview coming up and then we'll get in the news the day and I don't think I haven't thought about the squad folks and trump and fighting with them until we're gonna dig in because that's so guess what they're still gonna be fighting with trump tomorrow I I assure you that's not going away there's still going to be all kinds of trump is a racist tomorrow I thought today we spend more time on the trip foreign policy we don't do it a Ron I know they seize this British how this this British ship people are very concerned this it would just expect this continued this behavior from Iran for for a while but they actually don't have if we're gonna talk before policy I felt like I should mention this the Iranians don't have the time here time is not on their side their economy is imploding are they are feeling the pain grabbing a ship you're there that's just optics that's just tryna to quiet their critics internally and trying to see if they can rattle us and our European allies and create divisions and separation grabbing a ship here there is not gonna get the Iranians are the buying the right now remember the fundamental mistake the Obama administration made was the Iranians are under so much pressure let's bail them out now and give them a life line of a deal that's way too favorable for them that was the mistake they made this administration will not do that we get the Pompeii we need you to talk about a moment then I've got was it this this woman who made a race hoax charge about being a Lima too many items and all this I'll get into that we had young grill drive got I've got a fantastic show no more Latin America that we usually do is well least south of Mexico but I'm just there's a figure one out we'll be right back the.

"There, and they learn how to use it really quickly and those have been wildly successful. Tens of thousands of animals moved across those crossing structures. Is there an element of your work where you interface with historians who are familiar with oral tradition. To try to piece together loss bits of knowledge about animal movements. We've we've been interested in doing that. And especially and allied interstate eighty project where we're trying to. You know, try we can't use sort of we we can call her the animals today. But those animals can't show us Lou. Right. So we're trying to get a hold of old timers who might have known where you know, where some of those movements were. We've also done we've done some work here on the wind river reservation and have done some interviews with tribal elders. Trying to understand what they knew about historical migrations. And as you can imagine it's it's challenging, I guess we don't have any examples yet where and I'd love to add love to to stumble upon this one. Yeah. With Pompey's pillar lawn the tone river east of billings, Montana. No, people would always run into stuff there. But you go look at it. Make sense fuel is run into Elkin bison there because the north side of the river, just giant sandstone bluffs. And there's a creek comes down that forms a pass through the bluffs. And it was like people having shootouts their people hunting their people get their under described like as far as I can see you to the right and the left, and even let's does not there's still they're not doing it now. But it's like very definite. But it's funny because you go there, and look I can totally see it. Right, right. It's almost it's reflected again. And again in the journals of people who traveled through to this is like the spot, right, right? Yeah. And so what what would be nice would be to uncover some of that information, which points to a historical corridor that the week, and then work can increase our confidence in knowing that that's the right place to restore and a related example is at this that path of the pronghorns where where that overpass was built is that the is a place called trappers point, which was a historical rendezvous site. Oh, and and also when they wide and that highway. Two thousand eight thousand nine I think now earlier in that they anyways they they had to do an archaeological survey and they discovered a pronghorns kill site. You kidding me? "It almost feels like we're cropping for that mugger okay because i think you know we always molar or trump's arteries are going to put us off of this trump is the healthiest man on earth we know that true that in a dictator state wrote yeah yeah i believe it's true i believe he's going to leave he's going to live for another thirty five years and i believe he's gonna pay no price for anything he's done i hate i am an optimist by nature but he's never been here's a thing for all of the sort of real politics behind the scenes that you're that you're talking about like follow the money and everything else donald trump did it because john bolton said one thing in one ear mike pompey has something in another year hannity said sure and somehow he feels like doing this he's going to make his corpse of a father proud finally like it's truly pure ocean and and conservativism doesn't mean it's going to serve as it was no longer means family values or fiscal responsibility it now means what makes snowflakes cry what generates here's rat whatever is your dopamine release of the day is what conservativism now means i mean honestly what we should be doing right now selling a live feed of us complaining to to every red state in america and charging them pay per view just to see us go we'll all be millionaires i think unless he dies too soon which is always possible because you know who knows what we don't know.

"Confirmation and rand paul is on the committee that will hear pompey's that will hold the confirmation hearings he said he's upset with pompey's previous support for the war in iraq and his position on extreme interrogation methods or torture depending on how you define that and so that would mean if if rand paul does you know stick with us and decide to oppose pompeo republicans have a oneseat advantage on that committee they lose that if they lose rand paul so they would need democrats to vote for mike pompeo and so far democrats are playing it close to the vest on what they're going to do if you sort of scope out ahead though that means there's probably a couple of potential thorny missy confirmation hearings coming up right if you pompeo and there will be others right that's right because the woman who was named to replace pompeo at the cia hassle has also drawn opposition from rand paul who says she was involved in running one of the cia black sites and paul has said you know he's not going to support her because of that he's a different committee that would hear her hold her confirmation hearing so the issues are a little bit different but we're definitely looking at some messy confirmation fights again only year into the administration there were a handful of democrats who voted to confirm mike pompeo cia and two of those democrats are on the committee that will hear his confirmation so it's possible that they can win some democrats over and he'll get confirmed to be secretary of state but basically this is not going to be cakewalk and one thing to remember about hump heo is that when he was a republican congressman from kansas he was.

"Ace with caesar he had been ordered to disband his army in fact and returned to rome alone but as we said cesar knew what awaited him in rome if he did this so cesar made the decision and this was a major major decision he would defy the senate's request and crossed the rubicon with his army sending the message back to pompey end the senate that he had declared war on them and that he and his army were now on the way fully prepared to march on rome itself crossing the rubicon meant that there was no going back this is when caesar reportedly uttered those famous words the die is cast he knew this was it rome needed to get ready for the civil war that was about to follow which would pit two of the greatest roman generals in history against one another this would be caesar verse pompey and they're battleground would be all over the eastern mediterranean as caesar marched on rome with his army pompey and the vast majority of the senate who oppose caesar fled the city now you may be asking yourself if pompey was such an outstanding general and military leader why didn't he simply raise an army and meet cesar head on for the fight then and there well one of the skills that made caesar and his army such a force to be reckoned with was the speed at which they moved and executed against their battle plans pompey from what i can gather simply didn't have enough time to prepare himself and an army for that fight yet so he left the city to give himself time to put together a proper army that would in fact be strong enough to defeat caesar this leads me to believe that pompey and the senate never expected caesar to cross the rubicon they had anticipate.
