"Was Tim Tsar and asked mordecai with Bradley Whitford in the cabin in the Woods, written by Joss Whedon and drew Goddard and directed by Goddard. A couple weeks ago, along with that massacre, we shared our top 5 M. Night Shyamalan moments along with a review of knock at the cabin, so in addition to the word cabin, why did we choose that scene from cabin in the Woods? That might be all we got. Jeremy weigel from Queen says, in addition to the obvious connection of place, cabins in the Woods. The selection is also consistent with the idea of horrifying bizarre rituals designed to avert the end of the world in Jeremy. It also has a marvel connection, Dave Bautista, and Chris Hemsworth. Indeed. Are you on board with all this very, very early Dave Bautista for best actor at the 2024 Oscars talk I've seen Adam? Let's not go too far. All right, we also heard from Jim pollini and Beth page New York, besides the obvious cabin locations and additional connection is the great Sigourney Weaver, a shyamalan veteran from the village who is pulling the strings in the slash horror deconstruction. The cabin in the Woods. Sigourney Weaver also costarred in Ghostbusters as did cabin lead Chris Hemsworth. Albeit in two completely different versions of the film. I think you may have pointed this out. Yeah. I totally forgot Sigourney Weaver was in the village, but yeah, Sam made that connection. Neil from San Francisco rights as a listener of two ish years to this podcast. I'm very excited to be writing in for the very first massacre theater that I immediately recognize. Cabin in the Woods premiered the same year that I graduated high school, and I remember it being one of the first films that I just had to show to my Friends. Horror had always been a genre of interest to me and have been grown up watching the horror classics of the 80s and 90s with my dad. At two young of an age, I was immediately able to get and enjoy all the references in parodies in this movie. Furthermore, I had not seen comedy crossed with horror with such success until this movie. It was an exhilarating take on how successful the genres could be when done right. Loved your performances here and I'm looking forward to more film spotting in 2023. Well, belated welcome, Neil. Glad you could enter in this one. One more note, it comes from Anthony servo in winter park, Florida. Adam was right to shirk Josh's advice. His performance is what wriggled that memory off the shelf. Yeah, there you go. Your advice again, what was your direction? You wanted me to channel. We were talking about where are we talking about being stern fathers or something like that? I don't know. Instead, I just went full on creep. As low voiced creepy as I could get. And it worked. He wasn't alone. Got some positive feedback on that performance, at least we know I can play British women. Baritone male creeps. I mean, two sides of the same coin, really. There you go. Reach in to the pretty brimming film spotting hat Josh and pick out this week's winner. Our winner is Luke Stan away in Los Angeles by way of Jackson, Michigan. Congratulations Luke, email feedback at film spotting .NET, and we'll set you up with your very own film spotting T-shirt or tote bag.

"LNG as the country seeks to replace Russian supplies. So what Fox went has more on this sheets only just from London. So Simone, what are some of the nuances of this deal? And I mean, how is this going to get sold to a very anxious domestic German population? Well, I think the idea that Germany that Olaf scholz was going to go to the Middle East and suddenly come back with all this massive supply of LNG to stem the gas crunch was simply a pipe dream, but what he did come back with it looks like is a 137,000 m³ of LNG from adnoc that's going to be delivered to utility company RWE by early 2023. So this is a near term sort of deal. It is one that's going to make use of floating regasification plants that Germany is bringing in to allow itself to accept shipments of LNG. So there's a near term element of this that's positive. But what didn't happen, Germany didn't strike new deals with Saudi Arabia or with Qatar. These are both deals that likely would have been long term, that sort of where we are on discussions either around LNG or around hydrogen. We didn't see a ton of movement there. And the German side has been very unwilling to try and accept these long-term contracts that folks like Qatar like Saudi Arabia are demanding for these long-term supplies. And you have to think about this in the context of what total energy is a CEO, Patrick pollini, who was in Qatar and will discuss this in a moment. He was saying that essentially European countries are being unrealistic. If you want a cheap price for short duration, he says, the answer is obviously no. And then on the LNG front total energy and counter announced a major new deal. What are some of the details there? Yeah, this is a deal for what's called Northfield south. This is a second massive piece of a two phase expansion project for Qatari LNG. This is a little bit longer term out with the first natural gas or first LNG likely to be shipped out of the country in 2027, but totally clear beneficiaries here. We heard over the weekend on Saturday that the company would get 9.375% stake in that new project out of the overall 25% that Qatar wants to sell off total had gotten one of the largest stakes on offer for the Northfield east project that's phase one of this program. Now getting a pretty sizable stake in Northfield south. So clearly there's a tie up there between total and Qatar that seems to continue and for his part saying he would have taken more of this deal if it had been an offer. And then on the geopolitical side of things, the protests in Iran continued for a tenth day yesterday. We understand there have been more injuries more fatalities. What's the latest? Yes, state TV saying that at least 41 people have been killed, but a lot of human rights organizations and others saying that that number is much higher. It's very hard to tell exactly what's going on in Iran right now because there have been widespread Internet disruptions, Internet outages, but it does seem like the government crackdown on these protests is intensifying, even as they spread to more and more cities and the protests appear to become even more emphatic than they had been in the past. One thing here that is different potentially than previous protests is that this appears to have united a wide range of people across economic and social Strata, progressive, conservative, rich, and poor. That is something that's been noted by a bunch of analysts watching these protests also the involvement of Gen Z the folks who've been born after the year 2000. Those are things that previous protests didn't have, but as yet they do seem to be a little bit smaller than the 2009 protests, the green movement, again, we have to see how this plays out, particularly as this crackdown appears to be intensifying. So on, thank you very much for the roundup. That's just about Fox in London. We still have much more to come on the program. This is

"You're next hey call. At least the good news is the power is back on so tastic. I'm glad to hear that that's the best news of the day but I gotta at a and his team were supposed to bring something to feel good about. They probably should have not left batteries because I don't think anybody's feeling today. After we saw the paul. I know that you have an opinion about. Oh emai- not say it all the time but i think a lot of his behavior recently especially with the interaction with fans confirms everything you think about it. Now you don't have to say it and make the night. But i i am complete completely in agreement with you and your assessment of that guy and his intellect. It's just absolutely awful and for me. I didn't see any real change from last year. I mean did you know. He can't take. Joe borough out of the equation but you know at the time. He had good coordinators. But i thought i thought the pollini decision last year was one of the worst worst judgment calls i've ever seen and there's no you can't i. I don't know what to make of what he has now. It's too early but I it's he he's in he's in a really bad spot right now because you lose the opener and you. It's hard to. It's hard to get it back because there's nothing really on their schedule for a long time. That gives him a chance to undo the damage. I mean i. I was not high on the team. But i wasn't as low dallas. I predicted and you know. I was an for seven and five it worst and of course. One of the eight wins. I was counting on was ucla. Because we're not going to be We're not going to be them. I don't think we'll be florida arbor. He's got four games on the schedule that it can be critical to survival. That's all mistake kentucky and arkansas. Because he shouldn't be you elim central michigan and macneice. But i'm gonna take an anything and if we could if we could put the schedule on the screen in a second. I wanna kinda point out the dangerous games and you know it's hard to. It's a win saturday. Night would have done so much. You understand it. You're suffering within ninety hundreds of thousands of people millions of people really but the problem is Okay so the next. Two weeks are good but september twenty fifth that is a must win mississippi state. And i mean by that psychologically. That's what i'm talking about. And then then that kentucky that's terribly dangerous game and then the second half of the season is murderer as murderers row. Absolutely i agree with you. I think the four key games on the schedule or oldness mississippi state kentucky and. I will throw arkansas in there too. Because i can see losing to bam i can see losing am florida I mean they're not wasn't elsa much of a unless something. If you listened to mcilroy he said something very interesting and he talked about players making business decisions. And and that's sarah decision to make everything's different. But if you're if you're that problem occurred last year to with the opt-outs and the dissension and you know o oh can be as worst enemy augie by overselling everything. Well i think always his worst enemy just in his lifestyle choices. Sixty follow social media. Guide is posting pictures with lady. That's like could be his daughter's age. I think his whole life is gone to hell in that but say that about hold on just one say i mean he. He went through a divorce. I that's something i'm comfortable. I don't know what he doesn't his personal life and quite frankly. I really don't care but it's his public life. That's getting him in trouble. Walking into the stadium dissing the ucla fans has boomerang right into his gut. I mean can use been doing something like that. I mean anyone doing something like that. I mean the performance. We saw on the field. I can summed up in three words. Gutless pride list classless. They looked fat. They look slow. They look soft I mean it's it seemed like resignation sent set into these guys and max. Johnson actually regrets. I know he was being harassed. But you get some crazy things that you just can't imagine that i'm not to identify because he's one of my colleagues but i had. I heard somebody say the other day privately. They felt like brennan. Brennan injury gave max johnson. The opportunity to do with coaches really wanted to do anyway That was the mindset going into the end of the game. I'd like to see brennan back right now. Wouldn't you like to see anybody back like now. I mean we're we're working with a guy named to me. It's no longer the eto show i. I'm not one to jump ship immediately. But i jumped ship last year. So i'm still in the water from last year but this is on scott woodward now now liquid scott woodward did with fall. Merry go back to baseball team worked to that. Maria's gone he broadening his guy. I think if there wasn't this big buy out. I don't think we watching etta. Ooh completely oh about the word I think he's one of the smartest eighty s in college athletics. He's one of the most connected. He's from that area. He he knows what he's doing and this is not i mean. Sometimes i wonder augie if athletic directors are really in touch with reality he is. He's not unlike some. He's not looking at twitter to make his decision. He's listening to the people in that community that matter the most well i was really disappointed with the whole title. Nine the way he reacted to eddo and all those coast that came up in march remember. Paul that's what we're talking about. Lsu title nine and etto in various guys. And where do you get the older lady. And is shane behavior. And etto tried to cover it up and we didn't see a whole lot of action from woodward but we don't know what went on..

"That's a game that he would normally have been broadcasting a couple years ago and uh unfortunately he got stuck coaching. The game college football fans after an off season that sell a little more off than usual fans villain dr pepper. Invite you to celebrate because college. Football is back and so fans yes. It's the most wonderful time of year again. The season of saturday's rivalries run deep. And nacho cheese dip runs even deeper so crack open ice cold dr pepper. Warm up your cornhole tossing arm and return to glory with an all new season of fans ville by dr pepper. The one fans deserve so. Acc black guy sec. Good bargo if you go out to the rose bowl if you go all the way left to the rosebowl one of the great iconic scenes in college football you have the team one in particular would be the surprise team and there wasn't i expected. Ucla to play well. And take that into the fourth quarter. Because i just think they're really really on saturday night was in was just a dominant performance. Forget that they won paul day. We're just a better team. And i don't even think it was close and i knew wanna polish here because uh no no one. I don't bet on football and yesterday I regretted it. Because i got the. I got the all time. Gordon gecko insider trading tip from matt berry Two weeks ago when when he mean he he just flat out called a ucla. Win told many people. As i could. And then i still had to be subjected to my colleagues in the sec just propping up lsu like twenty nineteen all over again. And it's just not an congratulations mad. I i don't know whether chip kelly is sending you game film after after work. You called it and you're right and the ucla's got some real potential. But i'm i worry about lsu because nobody over sells their team better or worse. I should say than does ron. He just can never come. Come into a press conference and say like nick sabin not happy. I mean it's always great. It's always we got the best team and there's no way that this team is l. Comes out of this very well. And i mean they got problems across the board especially in. I'm glad you brought that especially Especially new coordinators who look clueless because we looked at what was the storyline with lsu. Got rid of pollini. He had to bring in a new office. We had the we had to get that stank from twenty twenty off of us and paul. Look that would. That's exactly what. I was talking about last night because i wasn't surprised by the ucla win. I was more stunned in legitimately started asking the question and it's a legitimate question now. Is everything okay at lsu because it is it getting a little more crystallized to me that maybe two thousand nineteen was just a perfect storm in an outlier in the eto doron era because since then we saw last year which is an absolute tire fire. And then. I don't know what you're going to get this year. Because last night in the rose bowl they were beaten top to bottom by pac twelve team. And i know it was on the road. I don't ever think the rose bowl is a hostile environment. But they they were outplayed. And you're not supposed to get that when you're lsu you're supposed to be one of these programs hovers around the top ten every year. Maybe top fifteen. They were absolutely embarrassed by chip. Kelly and ucla to me. The bigger story yeah. Ucla's a great story but to me. The bigger one is lsu this disney. They need to be careful. Well we're talking about a defense. I mean nothing gets more over hype than the lsu defense and their run defense got gashed. I i didn't expect to happen singly. look pedestrian at times and again we something you know. I think because of nick sabin. We assume that you can. You can change coordinators every year and not have a drop off. It affected him a couple years ago. But i didn't see anything from think about lsu for a second. I'm doing this off the top of my head. But i mean if you rank the tough games on lsu schedule. Ucla was nowhere near the top. I mean they had they have to go to alabama. You're right. They have florida which we don't know much about yet naturally. They have auburn team. That just gutted them last year got texas am on the road. So who knows and and i want to start this because i but because coach has really done a lot in and i think. The state of louisiana has often rallied around him especially now at a very difficult time. But these these off the field issues. Which don't matter if you win suddenly matter if you start losing and right now. There are a lot of angry. Lsu fans who who just didn't lose on a last second field goal that game was that game wasn't even close nokia's typically thirty eight twenty. Seven was the finals charbonnet. I suppose extra never ran at michigan. He's been running the first two weeks for chip kelly and ucla. You're right if you come down in its all time classic at the rose bowl that everybody just shake each other's hands is seeing a hell of a football game. You both fought but there was this clip of oh going around before the game. When he was walking through the tunnel he was mouth and off to a ucla fan caught like his pansy blue shirt. Or whatever but that was what as you thought of. Ucla these these soft blue uniforms and this really nice landscape and college football at the rose bowl basically what they were saying is that we think ucla as soft think ucla has finesse. You come out of saturday. In it's like lsu you got beat up and down the field by powder blue soft finesse in. It says more about lsu. Yeah he called the guy that's really smart to call now. Some of that is. I think getting inside owes head remember..

I like If I undercooked at the time before end up over cooking at the time after so I like the real grill masters out there. Know how to cook chicken and ribs. Very well. I do not. They do not. It's also the smokers, people that have the heavy duty smokers out. There are also delicious as well. Let's go to Ralph's calling from Louisiana. Hi, Ralph. Hey, Good morning, John. Before you tell us you I'll tell you how we do the mayor in the deep south and we make a crawfish. Uh, dipping sauce out of this, Uh, Mayo ketchup. Bit of what's your shower sauce? And if you drop the Tabasco hot sauce mix that together and that dip is unbelievable. And you can put it on anything, but we used it as a crawfish dipping sauce them. Pretty good. Wow. Sounds good man. Thank you. But look before you lock fans where you get too excited, I'm a big l a few fan. But I'm gonna tell you what. Don't don't get Excited about that victory last night because this team you know, with far removed from the 2019 undefeated, you know, national champions. It's been a revolving door coordinator. You know, everybody blamed Pollini last year for the historically bad defense, but we saw last night again. Uh, it's more than that. You know it. There's there's some lack of talent at certain positions. I mean, not cornerback. You know, we have that tackling was futurist. I'm going to. I'm going to give l s u a slight pass on this one game only because they had to evacuate from Baton Rouge to Houston, Hurricane Ida. And then make the trip out to the West Coast, You know, so that was a tough week for them, but, um, But offensive line might be the worst in the country, and I'm not. I'm not even joking about that. If you go back and look at tape from 2019 Joe Burrow made so many miraculous. Plays with his feet as far as escaping pressure and and then making the play down the field. Um, you know this I just hate to say it, but you know, it's it's a you know, good for them. They don't look very good. Yeah, you know that. I mean, I mean, I mean, my takeaway from watching the game yesterday was was impressed with U C l A. But I also was saying like, I don't think Alice who is very good. I don't think their defense is very good. I agree with you. You know, Ed ocr on, um, kind of just passing the buck with it being bellinis fault and you know, like now, listen, ma'am. Like you got your national championship. That's what's expected of you Appreciate the phone call man. Have a good Sunday, but you I mean, like, that's the difference between Alabama and some of these other schools. Else. You certainly national championship. They're always there on the national radar. Alabama just doesn't year after year. And now Clemson who has been consistently the best of the second best team, for the most part in college football. Now, after losing, you know, real talent, real skill talent to the NFL now They have to. They have to recover from that. And, um yeah, I don't know. I three points was that George's defense was that Was that kind of what you're going to see from Clemson against the better defenses where they're going to struggle? I don't know. I don't know. Three points I was I was watching SportsCenter this morning before coming on. And Paul Finebaum was talking about Clemson and because a lot of people, including Dad was Sweeney or saying like, Oh, it's the first game of the season. Don't worry about it. Everything's fine and fine Bonds saying, Like, Well, I mean, you know is everything really find your your conference is bad. If you run the table and you look at Clemson's their schedule they have coming up. Certainly not a difficult schedule. Yeah, they could very easily be back, But, um, you know I'd say. I mean, I can't say it's It's a good law. She scored three points, right, But I guess better to do it now than that. Better to do it later. All right, as we move into the NFL conversation here, um Um, bold statements. Bold predictions bold everything alright and really some of these to me like I I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of where the league is and what teams are going to be good and what teams are going to not be so good, right? Like there's always the teams that are going to be at the top of the NFL, the top of their conference. Right, like I'm not. I'm not making crazy crazy statement saying. I think the bills are going to go to the Super Bowl this year, right? There were second best team in the FC list this year. So instead of going shock and picking the Chiefs, I'm going with the bills, right? But I really do believe the bills. Take that next step this year, But then you have the You know the Chiefs and you have the Ravens. Then you have, um then you have the Browns, like like the the Pittsburgh Steelers this year are really, really big question. And I know they started really, really hot last year, but when, when? When the ground fell out from under him, they really did. Um, I think the Steelers finished under 500 this year for the first time under Mike Tomlin. First time under my comment under 500, I don't think Ben Roethlisberger has much left and the defense while while will still be good, I don't think it's a unit that can be your your M O right, like 2000 Ravens Ray Lewis franchise. He's your franchise player. He's your quarterback, more or less than your team, right? Like you could ride that defense. To a championship. The Steelers don't have that defense anymore, Right? Like still good. Certainly Still good. But are they? Are they great? I'm not so sure the offensive line and as much as we talk about Ben Roethlisberger and they drafted Najee Harris does the offensive line that has question marks straight across it. Are they good enough to give them Roethlisberger? The protection? Where he's able to throw the ball downfield a little bit, and I don't know if he can throw the ball downfield consistently like he once did so Steelers finished under 500 for the first time under my column, bold prediction. Here's another one. Justin Herbert is a top three m v P In his second season, the Chargers make the playoffs head coach Brandon Staley, coach of the year. I see that this year I saw I saw last year the Chargers. I saw a team that probably didn't but wasn't well coached and a first year quarterback that was trying to figure out how to close out games. Chargers missed so many games so many wins by giving up late leads late leads to write like experienced coach more experienced quarterback You could be a 89 win team. I see them taking that step this year. Justin Herbert, Big fan of the quarterback, Big fan of the team, the Patriots will miss the playoffs again. Playoffs again. Matt Jones looks good, but the free agent spending spree by Bill Belichick generally falls flat. Right. For all the money they spent. They didn't get a true impact player. Right. Like they spent and their improved across the board there and improve the wide receiver. They improved the tight end. But are they even better than average across the league? I'll say no, they're not. There's still not. They're still not great. Now I do think that that Matt Jones looks good and at least you say to yourself at the end of the year. Okay. Least we have our quarterback. Now we need to build on the quarterback. We need to help them a little bit, right. But I mean, I I don't think the Patriots are a playoff team. I certainly didn't think that with Cam Newton and I still don't think that now the defense will be.

"Our guys use the big ten network guys are going to take care of us. They're gonna treat us right. And i was afforded that without any anything earned on my behalf. They didn't know who i was when i first came in there The the atmospheres are are similar at the top. Right and you go to michigan you go to ohio state We went to nebraska at the time. Nebraska had just joined conference in things. Were still good when when pollini was win win a nine and ten games a year so at the top. It's very similar. And how they run programs in terms of head. Coach is being ceos. Not just a guy who draws on the chalkboard so yeah there was a lot of similarity differences. The middle of the pack teams the bottom teams. You go to you. Go to ole miss mississippi state on a football weekend. It doesn't matter if they are a six. No oh and six that is an event is generational it's it's all family and friendships and food. And it's almost you go to the grove before a football game. It's almost a religious experience and that's how they that's how they think about the game. I think the other difference too is a lot of big. Ten markets are pro markets. Right whether that be mlb nfl nhl and so a lot of the attention that college football gets gets Overridden by nfl. Talk in the fall in the south. That's that's not really the case. I mean obviously atlanta's got the pro teams and charlotte and you know there's interest in nashville at different levels in different sports. But for the most part you tune into sports talk radio in birmingham or gainesville or little rock or bill or columbia south carolina. They're talking college football three hundred sixty five days a year. That's how strong the interest is about atlanta where you are in kris demeanor. Who's been doing rated and the forever. We'd always get them on to talk about the braves and whether people are getting on board or not on board and he said keep in mind and in his own staccato. I can't imitate properly but donuts dollars guys. It's georgia football. I okay georgia football. I think we outside of that state. Big of a alabama is of course great in a powerhouse in debts. Were you know. It's a passionate fan base but georgia football fans expect national championships every year. Now it hasn't happened since what nineteen eighty. I guess but but give me an idea the fervor there and how it probably drives him bloggers right. That bama has gone on this run. It does and there's an immense pressure on kirby's smart to get them to that national championship victory. i mean the rosebowl. They played in a couple of years ago in the weather national. Titles one of the best post-season games we've seen i. I would just say georgia's not alone. They are. I would describe them as an elite program facilities recruiting base Money invested not just in coaches but in the program They have everything. I a national title since nineteen eighty The spending the investment in the in the school program but along those lines of this this ban fervor for a program that has given you a lot of success. You can look just down the road from there and at south carolina where they have a nfl stadium and they packet with eighty five thousand people and they have zero winning history. They have zero tradition yet. A heisman trophy from the eighties and spurrier led him to a handful of of double digit. Wins but you know head. Coach would always reminded us..

"Personally that i didn't know what was next. I i couldn't even get into the unemployment system to file for unemployment. I had to Call all of my local. Legislators all of my Council men and women to help my staff get their unemployment but then i thought about what about our undocumented workforce who standing up for them. Who's making sure that they still have a way to pay their bills or eat. You know and i started this donut. Pop-up called dona dona and All of the proceeds going to This organization called a d. c. and It kind of like got me into the act of always giving My mom taught me that if we let's say we had three dollars To our name we always should give one away So the act of giving has been something really ingrained in me And when the murder of george florida happened it broke us. It broke every single person around me in my community. And you know when will up pollini asked me. Would you like to do one more bake sale. I figured it wasn't enough. If i was really going to stand up for were black lives reviled life it for my husband's life for my family's life for my communities life. Was it enough to just do one more bake sale. So i got to google. And i made a google folder and i compiled everything that i had learned at for the six month. Run of donya. Donna and i just put it on the internet and it took zero dollars to raise almost one point nine million dollars in a week. I love this story because it shifts that idea of bake sale which is which is made almost almost trait or small. Or what are you gonna do just have a bake sale for justice will actually. Yes i mean. It is a really kind of extraordinary Remembrance of what scale that is still very close to community can do and veronica in the piece that you wrote for the new york times baking the world a better place. You actually talk about a history of liberation based bake sales. I was so excited to write about paula and bakers against racism in part because i knew about the work of georgia dillmore During the nineteen fifties helped fund the montgomery bus boycott with a group. She called the club from nowhere. And it was local groups who made meals and baked the their specialties peach pies and pound cakes and they donated the money to the movement and the catholic i think palace group in the bakers who work with them are really fine tradition and i think you know this is what this is. The upside of all the downsides right is that in the quiet of the pandemic in our grief we like tonette and as community. And we actually like. I think there's a kind of like remembering of what we can do together with our own hands and and it cannot say history paula. Talk to me about this network. I mean on the one hand you created it with a google form. Four free right and raise nearly two million dollars but also talked about the relationships that were built. And are y'all sharon recipes. I guess we are. There have been so many diverse communities within bakers against racism that have formed. You know we have. I think it's called. The bill bake sale project. I know that there have been a lot of cottage industry bakers that are now baking in their regions. And they're making their livelihood from the google forms that we sent out It kind of formed a community of folks that we thought we would never work again and we figured out how to work and not only how to work but how to support each other and how to support the cause that we believe in when we when we bake we are not just baking for social justice where baking four creatives scientists were baking for the black surfers of nova scotia. We're connecting with folks in mumbai. London we are talking to folks in australia. Who wants just radicalize baking. Do good in this world you know I always say that you can bake the world a better place and truly over the last year and a few months we have strengthened that part of the industry that has been so ostracized and castaway whenever things get tough and we have formed a community of people who are just active and ready to bake for one another regardless of the cause. As i hear you talk about Radicalizing baking veronica where you ultimately came with. Your daughter is the publication of a new book. Call and response about all these countless alternate forms of protest. Very much like this notion of radicalizing baking. What are some of the other unique examples that you looked at what was so great about doing this book which is really centered on. There's over one hundred photographs most of them by new york times. I was just looking at the pictures i mean. I love the pictures of the right out that the competent cowboys had and eight year. Old girl riding a horse with black lives matter signed in compton. I loved the skateboard protests in the bike. Protest and parliamentary lamented. The paddle outs i think. The protests that lack surfers had in the oceans on both the east and the west coast were so powerful And the music that concerts. That people john batiste had Neural set people. Made you know diving into the stories of the murals so many of us. We drive around cities. We love these murals but for us like being able to know this was a father daughter. This was a group of classmates who aren't even professional artists. He decided okay. We're going to throw up this mural and they're so extraordinary there's so many ways to be an activist and a night with so happy to be able to highlight bakers against racism. Because it's it's just one of a beautiful palette of activism inactivation. That young people have to choose from an ultimately. I think that's what. I wanted to highlight in the book and in our work at the time is that you have choices and when you have choices it helps you feeling helpless and powerless. Which is what. I really feared that my daughter would feel that. I think so. Many young people weren't danger. Feeling paolo will there be a cookbook. I don't know yet. i think. I am just trying to make sure that we stay up to date with everything that's going on in the world where currently our last activation was In support of a api lives and i'm gearing up after a little break for the summer gearing up to start activating again. So i think. I would have to ask the baker's because i don't actually do anything without their consent i will tell you that i i'm raising my hand begging for some way for all of us to engage even more with the incredible work that you're doing paolo. "Do exactly what they did in many of the losses again in that last season i know of jumping ahead here a few years but that last season when riley was our coach you can see the team. Quit in many of those games. If you look at scores we quit a lot in two thousand seventeen. And i think that two thousand fourteen game against wisconsin. I think that defense quit Four hundred eight yards later. I'm pretty sure. Melvin gordon said yeah. Those boys quit. And he didn't even run in the fourth quarter. He did all that in the second and third quarter. So sad just insane. I can't remember what they ended up rushing for as a total for a team. But i think he had well over three quarters of it. It was just that that game killed me. Because i had a bet. I had a bet with one a year. Marine buddies from boot camp His dad or not your marine buddy. But his dad he and i bet that we would put the No that would have been the next year. My bad disregard disregard disregard. That's not a memorable loss in two thousand fifteen. It was painful but it wasn't memorable. I'm show clear. Yea we'll ending. We might throw editing in right there or maybe we won't because we're organic here but yeah that's my number five so your number four is what we're up to number four another one. We only scored in single digits. God dang it yes to say. It's a very very low scoring games. Even though i would say that this game had way more of an excitement to it it was just an all. It was just dominant defense Richardson incredibly defensively. Dominating game i said it twice but you know reiter station at the bottom of a pile by remember. Yes yes so this would be the two there was the two thousand and ten texas a and m. game where we lost nine to six or you know could be a six nine were ben cotton gets finger in that fumble recovery Where you know six nine would have been would have been a better a better better better outcome but seeing how so to speak This would be salty. Part folks yes. But yeah the only thing i remember about that game. Just being infuriated with how little i knew about texas. A m's home crowd and kind of the the home crowd advantage that they get His i just didn't know that their fans were were frigging bonkers I was just kind of ignorant of those things. I was still still young. Two thousand ten shoot. I don't even know how old it'd be like fourteen no sixteen. I'd be sixteen. I just didn't know. I didn't know that they were just allowed crazy. They're called the twelfth man for the reason for good reason but i just hated him. I just hated him after that game. that was also the same game. That bowl pollini went nuts just the whole game and then at the end of the game win. It was still on tv. He was like walking across the field. And he just stares down the rafts like like a freakin and then be lines to ingest just starts finger and him in the chest and it's just like you this derogatory term black and i was like oh god this is a risk snuck year. No.

Quite a few other accessories. Then we have our transfer, whether the real popular here in Tampa and political stuff Yeah, no doubt. But now with the powder coating, you could get him to match your all I mean, you guys, you guys do custom colors and all that stuff as well. Yeah, we dono you can give us an Oreo color coded with compassion, Exact color. If you want something with flake, we could get your samples of different colors. Of course, it takes a little longer than the standard things like Mercury, Black or Yamaha, Cray or Whatever I but, yeah, we could do any color that's out there, um, hidden him that top of group quick and you want us thinking of getting a jacket for the spring or summer? And, uh, you know, great people like you guys about machine shop. Just got a kind of ate up in the storm there. So which is a good thing because it's good to have business and it Z. You know what it's if you're looking for one. It could get a little tough. So, like Steven just said you gotta be planning ahead if you're gonna upgrade If you know the Jack Clay you have is driving you nuts, which, like I told you I've had I had another brand at one time. She's doing cheerleading and he'll be doing football or basketball. But it's crazy. Dude, that's totally crazy. Crazy world we live in. Let's go to the phones here real quick. Let's check in with a good friend Jim Plastic. Jimmy, How are you? Good morning, Michael. Top of the morning to you. I don't want to talk a little football first, and then I've got a question for you officially question. Oh, come on Last week I said that I didn't think the bus we're gonna make the Super Bowl. Well, I have come back on that changed my mind. E think that Brady will work. His magic will work, just influence on the rest of the team. And I think we're gonna pull out the victory tomorrow and First hard fought game. I don't. I'd like to tell you. I disagree with you, but I'm not sure that I do my friend. I think I think it's going to be a very close game. But I think the difference really isn't going to be Brady because I don't think Brady is the best quarterback on the field. I think he's the greatest quarterback we've ever seen. I don't think at this point in his career, he's gonna be the best quarterback on the field. I think that's on the other side of the ball with Aaron Rodgers, But I do believe that the difference in the game is going to come down to the bottom. David Devon White There's a team that runs the ball is gonna win on and I can. I think our offensive line is actually better. I say ours. The Packer offensive line is better than the bucket. Your offensive line. The difference is going to be Devon White and Levante David are so fast That you can't get to the second level and get those guys blocked and I think they wreak havoc on the pack of running game. I think it's still close. But I think the Bucks winter and and And you heard it here. I said it earlier. I think the Bucks went it all. I don't think the bills or the chief's on anything to do with the bucks. I really don't. I hope you're right, Michael. 4000. I have officially questions when I think the Packers won the Super Bowl, too. I think the best two teams left her in the NFC. Gotta go quick..

"Up the Watts brothers, See if Bryant and Greg could Give us some tips on that. I'm sure they know the answer that question, But yeah, just it was a really It was a really tough bite. You know, lakes that, you know. I can usually pattern with just a couple of hours. Like, you know. Are they deport a shallow or they? You know the under the pads. I mean, what's the deal? We just couldn't put it together. And I've never been on those lakes where I couldn't absolutely couldn't buy a crate made by, you know, normally, if you put the right crank made color in the water, you could at least pick up a fish, you know with it. You know, 2030 cast if you work with right areas and what we could buy a crate make fish. You never had a bite on the crank made all day, which was just a little bizarre. So you know, one of them days. It's interesting because even other saltwater side when by yesterday my final the saltwater side was brutal. Really tough, and I think it's important to mention those days. You know, you get those charter county and get some of those pros out there that talked like they whacked him every day. It's just not how it works. When I wish it did. I wish it did. But you know, yesterday I got up. I got I got my ass handed to me a little bit, and it's just the way You know, that's the way it works. That's right. That's right. You want to catch a fish used purple purple color. We're going there to ball club with a black, which, with the blue flavor, and it kind of looks purple. Those two colors work really good out there head to where it was interesting to. She had to work really slow. Bites We didn't get came out a really, really slow presentation of that rage. Tail cutter would so right? They say, Do you think you're going too slow? Slow down. Before house the hardest thing for me to do. Yes, the hardest thing for me to do with my a D d in the in the fishing business is to slow down, so right. No, no. Yeah. Z tough stuff. So we appreciate the call Ronnie. Tell everybody how they could find out. They're beautiful Lake Alfred. All righty. I'm at 3 80 South lakeshore way which is 17 92 out in Lake Alford. Polk County Full number 8639564990 had a couple of your listeners come in yesterday. Went fishing and I don't know what they how they did it so that tell me, but We hope they did well. Yeah. WeII, do we? We appreciate the real animals. Nation checking you out. There's no better place to get your fresh water knowledge and, you know Tackle out the wrongs tackle box on Lake Alfred. So running, we appreciate you as always, brother. Well done. Thank you for the opportunity. Always my friend. Always. We appreciate your good stuff right there from Ron Ron's tackle box and again. We appreciate real animal station making out there. I promise you, I wouldn't send you out there if it wasn't the place to be Ron is is dialed in and that scene you know, two of the best fisherman. You know if West Central Florida over my time here with my time fishing, Brian a great watch they both now are with powerful, phenomenal saltwater tournament anglers back to the day. And really, really cut their teeth when they were young bass fishing, and they're both big time Basque fishermen as well. They spent a lot of time out there with Ron at Lake Alfred. They really know what they're doing it, you know. That tells you all you need to know right there. Watch brothers air spending some time there. You can bet that Roddy is down into what's going on in that freshwater scene. Like I said, I was out there Streamside Resort. This week. If you if you love to play golf if you love the bass fish, If you like, shoot sporting clays that is a really, really beautiful resort. It's a deep place out there Bowling green, or they call it street. Some Florida now, just just we had dinner there on Wednesday night was Austin Meadows. His wife, Alexis had a incredible Rivai steak and the golf courses. They're supposed to be absolutely amazing, like in the top 10 or 15 of the entire state. The top 50 in the country so really, really oppressive Gulf of there and the fishing is world class. My fishing wasn't great on Thursday, but good man run there. Ron's talked about making me feel a little bit better about myself because the Bible's full everywhere So it was interesting, too, because But again, I don't know if it was just the high pressure because again we had clear blue birds, guys almost both days and then you know, my by yesterday was the same way again. Creepy tides. You know, I noticed over my good man, Van Hubbard charming and on the Facebook feed their You know, we're getting closer to the full moon. So that movement's getting brighter, especially if you have a clear night. You know that if you're not on the full moon, but that Boone's getting brighter you don't have any cloud cover that that mood will, even though it's not full, well We'll send those fish feeding pretty heavy at night, and that's going to slow your bite down during the day. Some, you know sister nocturnal feeders by nature. That's really what they feed the best. That's why I believe We tend to have better bites around the new mood that we do the full moon because on the full moon if you don't have any cloud cover they see so much better at night. Because of that bright full moon and then of the new moon. Would you move his dark at night? They don't see as well cause there ain't that big beating light in the sky, So you tend to do better during the day. Just kind of how it works all the whole full moon thing off shore. It's It's been the way it's been since I've been fishing here. So, uh, you know, just stuff to learn and think about it. You're planning your trips of your adventures of those types of things. All good stuff for sure. Again. The big kid. Thursday was my good friend. Austin Vatos from the Tampa Bay Rays, one of the premier outfielders in the American League. So good stuff hasn't mentioned earlier. We're gonna Good friend Stephen Pollini is going to join us at about 705 or so we're gonna talk about Bob's machine shop. They've been around forever. You know, I'm not sure Bob originally invented the jack plate, but I believe that's the case. I think she started the whole crazier. I know, uh, right here in the Tampa Bay area. A super guys super guy doesn't run it anymore is retired and chilled out What Stephen, believing it left his dad kind of run the show over there Now in a great people I've had Stephen on as a guest before super knowledgeable. If you go to Bob's machine dot com kind of check out all the things they have if you're running any other Jack plate Shame on you. I'm sure they know the answer that question, but, uh you know, just it was a really It was a really tough but you know, lakes that You know? I can usually pattern over just a couple of hours. Like, you know. Are they deep on a shallow or they? You know the under the pads. I mean, what? What's the deal? Well, we just couldn't put it together, and I've never been on those legs where I couldn't Absolutely couldn't buy a crate made by, you know normally, right if you put the right crank made color in the water, you could at least pick up a fish. You know with it, you know, 2030 cast that you work with right areas. Well, we could buy a crate Baitfish. You never had a bite of the pregnant all day, which was just You know a little bizarre. So you know, one of them days. It's interesting because even though the saltwater side when bite yesterday by finding the saltwater side was brutal, brutally tough And I think it's important to mention those days. You know, you get those charter county and get some of those pros out there that talked like they whack him every day. It's just not how it works. When I wish it did. I wish it did. But, you know, yesterday I got up. I got I got my ass handed to me a little bit, and it's just the way you know. The way it works. That's right. That's right. You want to catch a fish used purple use that purple color to black, which, with the blue flavor, and it kind of looks purple. Those two colors work really good out there head to where it was interesting to. She had to work really slow. Bites. We did get Taylor the really, really slow presentation of that rage. Tail cutter would so right? They say, Do you think you're going too slow? Slow down. Slow down the hardest thing for me to do. Yes, The hardest thing for me to do with a d d of the in the fishing business is to slow down, so right. No, no s's tough stuff so We appreciate the call Ronnie. Tell everybody how they could find out. They're beautiful Lake out for it. All righty. I'm at 3 80 South lakeshore way which is 17 92 out in Lake Alford. Pope County phone number 8639564990 had a couple of your listeners come in yesterday. What? I don't know if they how they did. They didn't know that. Tell me, but We hope they did well. Yeah. WeII do way. Appreciate the real animals. Nation checking you out. There's no better place to get your fresh water knowledge and the you know Tackle at the Wrongs tackle box at Lake Alfred. So running, we appreciate yours always, brother. And really, really cut their teeth when they were young bass fishing, and they're both big time. Vast Fischler's well, They spent a lot of time out there with Ron at Lake out for they really know what they're doing it, you know. That tells you all you need to know right there. Watch brothers air spending some time there. You can bet that Roddy is down into what's going on in that freshwater scene. I just said I was out there Streamside Resort. This week. If you if you loved to play golf if you love the bass fish, If you like, shoot sporting place that is a really, really beautiful resort. It's a deep place out there. I'm bowling green or they call it streams Song, Florida Now, just just I mean, I did her there Wednesday night with Austin Meadows. His wife, Alexis had a incredible Rivai stage and the golf courses. They're supposed to be absolutely amazing, like in the top. 10 or 15 of the entire state. The top 50 of the country so really, really oppressive Gulf out there and the fishing is world class. My fishing wasn't great on Thursday, but good man run there. Runs. Talk about making me feel a little bit better about myself because the Bible's full everywhere So it was interesting, too, because It again. I don't know if it was just the high pressure because again we had clear blue birds, guys almost both days and then you know, my by yesterday was the same way again. Creepy tides. You know, I noticed a good man, Van Hubbard. Champion in on the Facebook feed there were you know we're getting closer to the full moon. So that moves getting brighter, especially if you have a clear night. You know that if you're not on the full moon, but that Bud's getting brighter You don't have any cloud cover that would will, even though it's not full, well, well. Send those fish feeding pretty heavy at night, and that's going to slow your bite. Now during the day some, you know sister nocturnal feeders by nature. That's really what they feed the best. That's why I believe We tend to have better bites around the new mood that we do the full moon because on the full moon if you don't have any cloud cover they see so much better at night because of that bright full moon And then on the new moon, Would you move his dark at night? They don't see as well because there ain't that big beaming light in the sky, So you tend to do better during the day. Just kind of how it works. The whole full moon thing off shore. It's It's been the way it's been since I've been fishing here. So, uh, you know, just stuff to learn and think about it. You're planning your trips of your adventures of those types of things. All good stuff for sure. You can't be a big hit. Thursday was my good friend. Austin that goes from the Tampa Bay Rays. One of the premier outfielders in the American League. She decided to take a little header off the front of my 25 contender, Baby, you gotta check out go to the instagram page. Real animals. TV. It's at real animals. TV on instagram, You're gonna want to check it out because it's pretty funny. It will make the show. I guarantee that it'll be It'll be in one of our streets song episodes for 2021 for sure. So Good stuff. As I mentioned earlier, we got a good friend Stephen Pollini is going to join us at about 705 or so we're gonna talk about Bob's machine shop. They've been around forever. You know, I'm not sure Bob originally invented the jack plate, but I believe that's the case. I think she started the whole crazier. I know right here in the Tampa Bay area. A super guys super guy doesn't run it anymore is retired, chilled out, but Stephen.

Notre Dame Lands Marcus Freeman At Defensive Coordinator
"Just ended the last hour talking about the reports. That bo pollini is going to get four. Four million dollar lump sum payoff to to after being fired as the defensive coordinator and there's been a lot of speculation and even some reports that the That lsu was on the verge of hiring. Marcus freeman from the university of cincinnati. But pizza animal has just reported that he is going to notre dame instead of always breaking stories literally as he's coming on the air here pete great to have you on. This was a much watched battle between a number of schools for marcus freeman. Good afternoon and tell us what happened. Well i this is what one of the more public and hotly contested coordinator Tussles that i can recall in In in recent seasons anyway there's been a few a few of them over the years and You know we'll we'll we'll never know only only the only the folks in the grotto will really know How much notre dame has a market because their private but you know. Lsu lsu is ready to pay him Both leaning plus money and You know he went to both places this week. And i think at the end for For marcus freeman. Who is cincinnati. Thirty three might be thirty four year. Old defensive coordinator and the architect of that That great cincinnati defensive wanted this year one the afc and then Loss to george on a last second field goal in the in the peach bowl. I think for for marcus. There was geography and You know there will be some stability right. You got notre dame brian. Kelly is just steady ship there and You know there was a lot attractive. I think about. Lsu they were. I think on for twenty four until defense or some some number that would be easily improved upon with some new blood in better schemes. And obviously they probably have more raw talent down there so i mean really a really a compelling decision for a bright young coach. Call that we're going to be hearing a lot about in the In the next couple of the next couple of years course the next guy will probably not be thrilled to because all the attention was on freeman. But where does she go next. That's a that's a really good question really. Good question You know they they. They made hard shortages at At freeman and he was he was clearly be The target and the guy they wanted. And i i don't know From ahead who. Who were they go next. You know there's a lot of people have preserved our net at mississippi state right now Chain being made around adam this week. There's been rumblings if texas is going to go after in the chris ash Won a national title As buyers defensive coordinator at ohio state six seven years ago. It was the head coach at rutgers in the news at texas last year. And she's got a lot better on defense under wraps. I think that's that's another name right. Now let's That's brewing through the The the defensive coordinator mill show there will There will be options. And if we know and scott woodward they will be addressed.

"My favorite Tommy Lasorda running just over a minute. Now I'll bet you there are a million stories about him in Chicago at the pump room. You know when send Sinatra would come to town because he was a big Sinatra guy was any headaches are all those guys in L. A pelt around Sinatra? There's no doubt about that. Well, rest in peace. Tommy Lasorda, don't just if you want. I'm going to heaven. Don't ask him what he thought about Dave Kingman. Now did you notice the difference between Donald Trump? You know, I'm on the radio right now. Yeah, we started for And so if you could take the dog out here, that'd be terrific. Thank you. A part of me, John. She needs to start listening to you. I mean, you bring home the bacon in this family 90 am. I appreciate it. Where was I? You were just you know what about Donald Trump? Did you notice the difference between? Um Donald Trump's, uh Comments. Not only at the rally obviously Wednesday after the start of this whole mess. Yes, it did. Yes, it did. Yes, it did. But That video that we played the audio We played last night, where he seemed quite contrite, very passive on just kind of subdued, almost like it was a video. He was reading from a script obviously. So you noticed that difference, right? The inside story is the inside story is the White House counsel Patsy Pollini. Warned him of the legal danger he had put himself in. Justice Department said it has not ruled out pursuing charges against Donald Trump for his possible role in inciting a riot. Aides described Trump earlier today a psychologically fragile trump is alone. He is a mad King George said. One Republican. Trump also claimed that he immediately called up the National Guard last night during that, that statement Despite Mike Pence is the one that took control and called up the National Guard, so we shall see. Could he be charged? I think it's ah political nonstarter the 25th amendments already off the table. I think impeachment is folly. A fool's errand at this point, but let's talk to Ellie Hoenig. He works for ABC News is illegal and US former federal prosecutor and I'll say Well, is it possible charge the present United States the president of the United States, the sitting president of the United States. With inciting a riot. We'll start there with Ellie. He joins us next on Wls. John..

Louisiana State University parts ways with Bo Pelini after one season as Tigers overhaul defensive coaching staff
"There are multiple reports out there right now. That bo pollini is gone from. Lsu that Experiment did not work very well. So several media outlets reporting this hour. That bo pollini is not coming back on twenty one. That was certainly the most controversial decision that it owes. You're on made let's Welcome in stewart. Mandel to the program. Stuart thank you very much Before we even get to the ball situation. I'd like to get your thoughts on that Well paul i gue-. I guess i would say that. That's something that we've all expected. Since about the second game of the season it just a bad higher and you know it's interesting that a year ago Does ron was getting all the praise in the world for an inspired Higher joe brady the passing game coordinator. Who kinda helps And it was instrumental in joe burrow's rise and that national championship. And then you had some staff changes to make this after this past season and we hire both lean. He's a big name and he's had success before and i get that but it just seemed like it was just such a terrible fit. He tried to revamp their scheme entirely. And this was a program. That had success under dave randall. On defense it wasn't broken. Tried to completely revamp the scheme regardless of the personnel. They lost so many guys to the draft last year and then and then even more before the season. And i just wasn't a good fit and just just a historically bad defensively shoot this year.
