Black Republicans Like Herschel Walker Are Despised by Dems

"I reject the way people play the race card all the time. Everything's racist. You maybe you've seen the video of the woman, the high school English teacher, English teacher, who refuses to teach proper grammar. Because she thinks it's racist to do so. I mean, everything's racist. Bridges are racist, according to Pete Buttigieg. When everything is racist, nothing is racist. But could I ask you a heartfelt question? You think there's been any racism directed to Herschel Walker? You think there's been racism and bigotry exhibited towards him? Listen, he's not the best. Speaker that's ever stood in front of a podium. He's not the most effective communicator, he's not a scripted politician, he's kind of a celebrity football player. Who has been beloved in Georgia for many years. But when you're a black Republican, you are despised. When you're a black Republican, you didn't follow the playbook. You didn't play by the rules. You're supposed to be a Democrat, don't you know. Ask clarence Thomas. Ask Michael Steele. Who has become a virulent anti trumper? But black Republicans know what it's like, ask Nikki Haley. A woman of color. What it's like. When you dare to express your conservative beliefs,

Lord Conrad Black and Sebastian Discuss Former Press Sec. Jen Psaki

"You mentioned, I played you a cut from the current White House, press secretary. She was very, very angry today as Fauci gave his last speech from the podium before he retires. You said, who do you prefer more Jen Psaki or the current incumbent? Well, Jen Psaki was more competent. I mean, this was competent, frankly. But I find her rather an amiable personality where I found Jen Psaki really rather obnoxious. Well, let's talk about Kayleigh McEnany, which is the champion. I thought I thought she was great. Let's talk about the predecessor. Let's talk about Jen Psaki because she's in the news. This is from Fox News dot com. Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that there wasn't a lot Democrats could have done to change the inflation reality. A federal judge ruled Monday that the former White House press secretary must comply with the subpoena and offer a deposition in a lawsuit that claims the Biden administration colluded with big tech to sense a speech. Now, her response and I must read it to you. This is directly from Jen Psaki to the judge, lord black. Sitting for a deposition would be extremely burdensome for me. I understand that I would need to devote several days to preparing for the deposition, as well as attending the deposition itself. And that would be highly disruptive to both my work and my family. My response on social media or black is, well, that's a great excuse that president Trump can use now that there's a special counsel coming off to him. Your response. That's just nonsense. But self indulgence self serving pompous statements. I mean, she knew when she was took that job on that there was going to be a good deal of controversy because her party. And so addicted to stirring up spurious litigation against its opponents, she might reasonably assume that some of it would come back at them. And as press secretary, she might have to testify and give evidence. And the president current president did her the honor of conferring that important position on her. And she had to know that something like that went with the therapy. So what did she talking about? I

Anthony Fauci Shares His Final Message From the White House

"To be thankful for this week. Including Anthony Fauci, no longer being in our government. Now I haven't seen the last of Anthony Fauci. I got to tell you. We got to get him back in front of Congress. We got to get this leadership fight figured out. We got to get committees filled, and then we got to start sending subpoenas out like frisbees. To every single one of these people. Fauci gave his final message today at The White House play cut 69. So my message and my final message may be the final message I give you from this podium is that please, for your own safety for that of your family, get your updated COVID-19 shot as soon as you're eligible to protect yourself, your family and your community. This guy never stops. Paid to you by Pfizer AstraZeneca Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. Fauci continues. He says the real danger is those of us that have not been vaccinated. Play cut 72. In vaccinated and unboosted versus vaccinated plus boosted. That doesn't mean you shouldn't get boosted, but the real danger is in the people who have not been vaccinated. So that's where we expect if we're going to see a problem this winter, it's going to, yeah, if you see a problem, it's going to be the unvaccinated people. Doctor Anthony Fauci is the worst of the fourth branch of government. There has to be a mandate for this new Republican House of Representatives. To put on full display the lying the cheating, the stealing the deceit. The self enrichment. Of Anthony Fauci.

"She is Kelly J Keane, Kelly J welcome back to America first. Well, I thank you so much for having me. I have a bone to pick with you. You came to the swamp and you didn't tell me. You didn't want me at your rally at the Lincoln Memorial. How dare you? How dare you come to my manner? And not invite me to your event. What brings you to America my dear? I am doing a tour called let women speak, which is exactly what it says on the tin. It's basically creating a space in which women can speak in public. The old fashioned public square because the modern public square senses everything we say. All right, is that why it didn't invite me because I'm a man man. Well, you could have come because there were plenty of trans activists trying to stop us talking, so. You would have been very, very welcome. I'm so sorry. All right, that's all right. I'm just ripping you a little bit because I'm a huge fan of yours and I can't believe you're on this side of the pond and I didn't get to see you in person. The website is standing for women dot com. First things first for those who haven't for some reason because they've been trapped under a rock or sleeping like rip van winkle who didn't see that viral video, tell us where that occurred and who you were talking about when it comes to your comment. I'm not a vet, but I know what a dog is. Well, I was actually talking to a trans activist, a woman who frequently takes her shirt off to reveal her double mastectomy scars as sort of a badge of honor. And we were in poolside watching will Thomas called who calls himself Leah Thomas race against women. So not only racing against women in sport in swimming races, but also changing with them and getting naked and no women are allowed to talk about it and I just thought I did share he's a man when he was accepting his podium chat. Jim Hanson and Heritage's Mike Howell Discuss the Oversight Project

"Go ahead and keep kicking the deep state in the teeth because I'm joined now with my cowl who is the director of the oversight project at the heritage foundation. And Mike, I am 100% certain that if anybody needs some oversight, it is those people across the river from where I'm sitting right now in the permanent bureaucracy. So tell me what you guys got Tito. What's the oversight project about, man? Right. So the oversight project is a recognition that in the next two years, when conservative state, the house and probably the Senate, it's going to be all accountability oversight hearings and investigations. And now conservative institutions institutions historic have done a great job of white papers, policy development, but that's not what time it is right now. We know the institutions of the federal government have been captured. We know what's happening. We are already so downstream of all this stuff. We need to start kicking back a little bit. So we created what we call the oversight process. When it basically is, is the investigative arm of the heritage foundation and the conservative movement. We do a lot of foia litigation. I mean, we all know what boy is already sending me. I hope you get some back. None of that matters unless you sue. And so we're taking the big bad heritage foundation. Expertise we have, and turning it into a litigation army, all these foia requests. So every time you see kind of a congressional letter going out asking for information, they're not going to response, you know, the Biden administration is not voluntarily coughing up any information. So what we're doing is we're going to go in. We're suing strategically all over the place. Right now we have about 400 boys outweigh litigation ten different places. And we're already getting quite a bit of stuff. If you saw last week or, you know, I think it was the 12th actually of October. We got an email from mayorkas, the DHS head. The first press secretary told him right before he went up in The White House podium that there's no weapon in Del Rio. You remember when they accused them of work religions of women. And we saw this like this. This is ridiculous. Obviously there's no weapon. There's got to be some gold here. And so we went out and you know we sued him for all the communications. He had before he did that abomination of the press conference, throwing border patrol into the bus. And sure enough, he went up there and we found it. So what did he want to do anyways? And so, you know, we launched that a couple weeks ago. And now what do you have? You have basically the entire conference of Republicans in the House and Senate. Calling for his impeachment. I mean,

Obama Admits Democrats Can Be a Buzzkill and Urges Better Messaging

"I have to forgot man Obama is slamming liberal counsel culture this from just the news. Former president Obama says the Democrats who endorse and participate in council culture are a bus kill and are unnecessary, making people walk on exhales. It's so fun. God, it's so funny that this guy says this because it is his policies of this his cultural Marxism that's actually coming back to bite the left and the butt. What we've seen is I hope I hope we're beginning to see the end of wokeness in America or at least for this generation. But anyway, Obama went on to say on the pod save America podcast where he stayed at some of his fellow Democrats need to quote who down the temperature would cancel culture close quote, sometimes Democrats are and I'm quoting him. Sometimes Democrats are buzzkills. Sometimes people just want to not feel as if they are walking on eggshells and they want some acknowledgment that life is messy and that all of us at any given moment can say things the wrong way, make mistakes, he said, close quote. Obama also said on the podcast that he made mistakes growing up, and that people need room to grow and change. That should be obvious, but it isn't to lefties. And this is going to continue to get worse. Until we disrupt what's going on at these universities around the United States, these people should not be getting federal funding. In my opinion, they should be living off their endowments. And if they had to live off of their endowments, then I guarantee you they wouldn't have woke basket weaving or you, you know, you fill in the blanks. They wouldn't have some of these degrees that are completely worthless where kids are just going to college where they don't need to go to college. Listen, I think college is for some people. I don't believe that college is for everybody, right? But the universities want to make it for everybody. They're making tons of money off of it and not only that, they're recruiting Democrats. They're turning conservatives. They're turning people to faith. And to Democrats, their brainwashing these kids. Obama goes on to say I used to get into trouble whenever. As you guys know well, whenever I got a little too professorial and, you know, started when I was behind the podium as opposed to when I was in a crowd, there were times where I'd get, you know, sound like I was given a bunch of policy. He goes on to say that's not how people think about these issues.

And I thought, at the very least, I want to get you to share that with my audience, you have a book out called releasing the prophetic destiny of a nation which ties into this, but that book is some years old now. By then, I was very captivated, very concerned about America because I just could see where things were going. By 2000, God finished the process of what he was doing in me. And it happened on a Wednesday night. I was pastoring. I walked to the podium to speak and something came over me. I didn't know what it was. I became dizzy. Disoriented, like I thought I was going to pass out. And then I thought, is this a heart attack or a stroke? I'd never had anything like it before. So I've stopped. I didn't want to alarm the congregation or my wife. And I just, so I just said, let's just wait for a minute here. Let's just kind of bow heads and pray or whatever. Because I didn't know what to do. And as I bowed my head and began to pray quietly to myself, this intensified and I began to weep, I was sobbing. I had no idea what was happening. I even I found myself thinking, what's happening to me? Why am I crying?

"I'm just sitting here in the state of shock over the president and calling on a dead congresswoman. So I happen to lose my brother in 2018. Because the last couple of years of his life, my grandmother had Alzheimer's and dementia and we started seeing things in my father and then he had cancer and we saw it at worst, but I actually sat in on these cognitive tests that they give people who have Alzheimer's and dementia. Right. And I remember when Biden was elected within the first, I think month or two, it was big news that, oh yeah, no Biden had a cognitive test that he was fine. I've sat through those. I watched my father go through it. I can 100% say there's no way that he would have passed a normal cognitive test. I mean, how could this not be an issue of dementia? How in the world, if he's calling on a woman who was killed in a very high profile, terrible accident that everybody knew about and he's standing at the podium saying, hey Jackie, come on up. Come on up and speak. How's that not dementia? Or Alzheimer's or some cognitive crisis?

"All the books that we've written, I think this one probably can potentially be enjoyed by people on all sides, the left, the right, and the middle. Ride on buffalo and claim rightful place on throne. "I warned you who we had in our one today. In our two, we have rabbi Jonathan Khan. He's scary in a different way. But my guest right now, Kevin McCullough, some of you know him and fear him as both is my guest right now. Kevin welcome. Hey, Eric, I'm not half as scary as that crazy person standing in front of independence hall last Thursday. Pounding the podium like this from him. That's in the middle of World War II. And I'm not trying to tell you what I think of it by calling it the posture. I think those are anodyne neutral terms. Well, first, and this is you won't find this remarkable, but I do, in my own experience, as a consumer of the day to today governmental political intersection, trying to watch it, I have become rather amazed at how unencumbered I am with the actions of this president. "So I'm watching this morning patty Murray you know the awful senator liberal senator And she's on CNN I played the clip open in the show amber and she's asked about school closures and she gives this typical liberal answer a long circuitous word salad of nothingness And data bash sauce is like well kind of bad or good And she just won't answer it This is reminded to be like liberals never ever face consequences for their actions That's how you get New York City Washington D.C. the collapse of the crime situation in LA in San Francisco If the media just told people the truth you guys wanted to defund the police And then X did happen then and why did this We wouldn't see this again It would be a huge help if the media told the truth but unfortunately the sky is still blue So that will never happen but it's so true I mean Korean Jean Pierre for example who is probably the most untalented White House press secretary I've ever seen Somehow manages to lie repeatedly from the podium and that's when she's able to string a coach at sentenced together and she'll go on the Sunday shows and somehow completely escape responsibility for her comments I mean last week people were sort of dialed in on the fact that she accidentally said 10,000 million instead of whatever the number was supposed to be in terms of how many jobs have been added to the economy But beyond just the gap how about the fact that the Biden administration is even trying to take credit for jobs that were created because oh hello we were in a pandemic for two years and now people are finally allowed to get back to work So that should have been an area of great pressure from the media and honest media And yet Korean Jean Pierre was able to say that with no pushback at all

The Imagery of Joe Biden's Speech

"Seen a fair amount of speeches and so I watched the speech from the very beginning. And I had to pause it. I said, what the heck is going on? First of all, they choose, he chooses to give this speech at independence hall. A place where our freedom was articulated into words, one of the course of human events that becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands that have tied them to another, deriving from the equal. Stations of power, screwing up the words that go further on, but it eventually says deriving from the powers of the laws of nature and nature's God. And this beautiful independence hall was desecrated. So Joe Biden walks center stage with Jill Biden and the moment that Joe Biden walks on stage, the entire imagery turns red. With red lights going upwards. And two marines come out and Flank him. And these red lights are there all throughout the speech and then Joe Biden walks all the way out to center stage. And the imagery looked like something out of the 1930s. And I don't say this lightly. And I can't stand one everyone compares everything to Nazi Germany. I think that is overdone. I think that it is just kind of a lazy and sloppy throwaway line. In fact, we have a rule here on the Charlie Kirk show, which is not to compare everything to Hitler, but I'll be very honest. It was very hilarious. There is no other explanation than this. The red lights coming up and so then Joe Biden comes center stage. Clumsily to the podium. Flanked by two marines, no mistake for that, by the way. That was completely and totally designed as if I run the military, listen to what I'm saying. We're going to use the full force of the federal government against you. We are going to crush our enemies.

Being clear about the threat to democracy is one of the most important things that American journalists can do. Reducing a liar's reach is not the same as censoring freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is different than freedom of reach. I think we're going to look back someday and say, wait, they tried to ban the 1690 like we're going to look back. He's begging these strong and he just has to key work in the fundamentals full speed and going going through it and some as as growing pains right now for him on a few plays now listening and if he plays to but that consistency ends up being important. When you're out there next to the next level guys at the linebacker level you know you're talking. Excuse me plus four yards there. Then you're talking another if they get past the linebacker level to the next level night. You know those are big hit. So it's important you know it's important to keep working and then As far as closing out a game I know offense guys have been so successful but now it seems almost like on both sides of the aisle both teams. Now no matter who it is. You're you're not only asked to go down and get a score. I if you're trailing mature also asked to get a score. Emily nothing on clock. How much is that evolved over time like that. Did that didn't used to be the thing right. If you could get down the field and score they throw a rape for you now or you wanna leave nothing out there. How how difficult is it to manage those both those things that you're trying to do. Yeah we've done well which allowed pride in that that we finish game. We didn't do that. This game i mean bottom line is we didn't get that accomplish and You know we we tighten messing up your little bit and take care of the the turnovers and take care of some of the things. I mentioned on the defensive side. Then then we become a better team and there's gonna be games where the offence carries a defense and are going to be times of the defense carries the offense and our guys understand. I just happens in this league But we're we're both playing together Well you know. We're tough to stop that way. So we've got to get that we've got to get that Roll in here and and Do a better job. And for both for both sides to have the The deficiencies that we had yesterday at key times. That's just you know a good team. You're not gonna come out on the side. Ibm and we'll ask to peter. Grant off with the kansas star could be out bonuses scored on all eight trips to the red zone. Is that an area where you definitely can see improvement one of those things. You're going to be working on. It has listen. We've spent a lot time. They all season with that. Worked at a ton and camp and then We haven't had the results here. We'll keep pounding that out until we get a right and You know it's one of those things early gets magnified when you're in the red zone or whether it's good or bad you're not tackling the field and it doesn't happen in the red zone. Do not get now blocked field than it's gonna get magnified the red zone. Everything's a little bit faster and everything gets all your strengths. Weaknesses get magnified. So you've got to you know you're gotta make sure that you get these fundamentals down. Take care of this. Episode was sponsored by picks. Wise hicks wise is the number one app of free sports. "It was a tough night on sunday night. Football as the chiefs. Lost thirty six to thirty five in baltimore. And after the and flying home chiefs head coach. Andy reid joined the local kansas city media for a zoom conference call and he had the opportunity to answer questions after watching the tape of this loss. Let's go to the chiefs head. Coach here is and you read all right. So listen Of what. I said last night when to good teams. Play each other you. Can't you know these mistakes just get amplified magnified and everything else. So it's a were said here with with two turnovers at a crucial time. The game setting here with The missed tackles more so in the first half in the second but enough there and shedding blocks fundamental things so we were better than that and so getting the right mindset to do so. I mentioned this last night. That's my responsibilities. That football coach. I've got to make sure that our team is playing better than what it is right now and and and we'll get. We've got the right chemistry in the locker room. Who got good players and gonna make sure that we step up our game. We've got a good charger team coming in here. The as as explosive really on both sides. Also we have made sure that we take your business. You punchers let's go. I a piece. Sweeney could beat. It should mention the tackling issues last night and this morning. How challenging is that to fix it on the fly. When maybe you can't clang bang necessarily like you were able to At training camp. Let's be. I thought we better with at the second half and some of that's a mindset not being so cautious rallying to the ball narrowing space for runners Again when you're being blocked shedding and then wrapping up those are all important things and and so but some of it's a mindset that you just have to take care of and So that's where where we go next to aaron land. Good air coast is not really question specific to the baltimore game but just looking across the league. A lot of talk about the new taunting rule. And how it's been enforced I'm wondering what you thought from from the early games and may be via conversation with guys. I know guys like sure their personality and have fun of. Maybe you've had a conversation. Yeah listen we explained to him the tiny roll the officials were in. They talked about it till the guys during camp so Were aware of it. And you see guys bill. Maher cautious with how they go about doing things Only score and so on so. I think You know. I think the officials done okay with that i I haven't seen anything in our games necessarily where they needed to throw flag on either team. So there's celebration but it's always been forget plays and i didn't think it was malicious towards one side of the from what i've seen. It's going to taylor. Good nate and i have two questions for you Just how do you think orlando brown played in his return to baltimore. And then secondly Give us some of the defensive issues. You mentioned earlier What was sort of the thought process and playing. Maybe wants thornhill less This sunday versus obviously against the browns as orlando Actually played very well Going back there you know he. He did a nice job and then I i think listen. I one and Dan i they do certain things the same and a couple of things different but it okay equals out. So i'm dan relieves. Had the you know he'd had the better camp and so on so Maybe a little bit more consistency there but we love. We love lawn and where he's coming. What works getting themselves back to where he was his rookie year and I want to take anything away from the effort that he's put forward to do that but and they they all get a chance apply so i think you know we'll just take it step by step hair and you can't have enough of those guys that can play next to mad derek goodman. Hey coach you mentioned last night. The the two runs on first and second half to win for losses. The kind of ledger getting into some third and long situations in through the first couple of games you know you're averaging just Three point three yards per carry in the run game. Anything you could put your finger on as far as how it's been a little bit difficult to get the run game going for you offensively. Yeah you know we've looked at that And there are there are a couple of days. We have to do And i think the back. Spain used to the the offensive line. And what they're gonna do certain tight situations i think is important and they build build the more they do it. Oh build confidence there. You know we'll hit it even a little bit quicker than what we're doing right now but i would anticipate getting better as we go on here. The losses were the thing that really probably heard us mad. I mean that you know. We had multiple penetration are a couple of plays and those. Those bad situation connects to todd. Lebeau tom coach last night. You were talking about clydes fumbled near the end. You hadn't had a chance to really look at it. Did you go back and see it yet. Did you have the ball in the right protection. Or is this kind of one of those plays and then is he someone as a young player who you might need to kinda help confidence wise after play like that in a big spot at solis. I mean. we're not putting the blame on anybody. Who takes her a message on how we roll and things happen. I mean that's the element of the game. And he's working through the land. Scrimmage with the ball you know thinking learn is as opposed possibly switching arms. Just keep that thing tight. Just cover with two hands and enroll But is not a fumble or mess not his deal and and then they'll be he'll be fine with it. I mean i think i'll players trust so But he can learn this. If we learn from mistakes we made the. We're gonna be a better team and and you gotta grow together in it. Sometimes there some highs lows of say in your work through it and try to get yourself better as coaches employees.

"We're right at the top so they're not many. That aren't vaccinate. I'll put it that way. I'm not sure what we're supposed to say not saying that. But we've only serve just about one. Hundred percent connects to sam mcdowell. Good sam brad. That was actually my question. I'm good thanks. Sandy next to matt derek. Hey coach and you've been asked before about you know the fact that you know early in the season you get up to hot starts and i know that you don't necessarily feel like there's any magic formula or anything to what you do but at the same time. What is it about this time of year. That gets your juices flowing that get you excited for the start of the season. And what do you tell the guys that gets them up for to me. Listen it's the first game. It's one of seventeen so you it's. It's as important as the rest of them. It's just it's happening now in its. There's nothing before this has gotten to this point so there's unknowns there's unknowns if you're on the office side of the ball wants to defense kim do if you're on the divas aside what y'all do what are the new looks special teams that they're gonna throw edgy. So there's a little bit gore unknown that you have as you get through the third and fourth game of the season to you That's the part. I get excited about your get your juices going. Plus you start to see. I mean that's always exciting here. We have to start at home. Which is which is great against a very good. Football team connects to pete. Sweeney could be. Because i know that clyde and darryl just a little bit banged up toward the end camp in and and that f- left preceding really. See them so. Just curious your expectation that they'll both be one hundred percent to go off or something you know so. They practiced this past week. Nice job with it. Look like they're moving around. Pretty good so i think we'll be okay coach. It looks like that's all we've got for you. Thanks for joining us. Okay thanks guess If you wanna stay with me or a hit a button and you guys..

"It's crazy to thing but we've officially made it to that time of year where the chiefs have a regular season schedule. Which means head coach. Andy reid joining the media on mondays. He did just that on labor day. And let's go to at here. Is the chiefs head coach. Ao bowl is low with you. I just kind of a housekeeping question. That i'll have another one after that. We saw the update on tire math. You have a status for him as far as the game on sunday. I don't you still in the protocol so we just have to weigh that out see series at mount amores will go on and that was going to be the first question where he was and then the next one Looking back at the game from last year. Obviously chad comes in and plays missouri in the evening meals. That stands out from that from that matchup as you look forward to this solis. I mean they got heck football team the feel like they've made themselves better this hops so and i can understand why not at some of a few people in the secondary and they've added cloudy up front and just you know the linebacker position as a little different so and then offensively they. They've got a couple of guys back so they're pretty good football players. And and so. They're they're fully loaded and you know they're good. They're well coach. Kevin's done a nice job of mixed. Herbie t. o. P. e. coach Aaron asked a question. I wanted to but sticking with the house meeting Willie gay is now on injured reserve. How much do you anticipate are utilizing bolton more than starting package during his absence. Yeah so listen negative. Preseason he's worthy of stepping in there playing so he'll sa- playtime yes for sure. It's going to matt mcmullan goodman coach so one hundred percent capacity of the stadium on sunday. Just how excited are you to welcome the fans back into the stadium and woken that energy. Do for your guys particularly on opening day. Listen i am probably speaking for all of us that. Excuse me after watching this weekend with the college games. I was pretty amazing. I'm was goosebumps right. So you watch that you know the people were into. It almost felt like they were let out of a camp somewhere in. Oh we've got freedom again here so that they can go and and those games so very exciting. I i look forward arrowhead Been yeah just as exciting as it's ever been. I mean it maybe a little bit more. It's and i know the players feed off of that to go next to adam tighter. Go handy goosebumps. I like that one. A you told us you told us when camp started that you guys were in terms of players about ninety percent facts named where are now after the cots and after the establishment of the practice squad. Just we're we're right there were just live at..

"We had you donate to stop in the in the Earn the training camp process in there. Not that i haven't shared before. That's that's newer change but again we will certainly as i mentioned before. We're precale up to get him done in like you can't put absolute than anything or anything but again ultimately beach midst to seeing that process through in again as i mentioned before You can express how much we admire him and he knows that we know who wants to be your so we'll just continue to make sure we've all that process through in oakland next to matt mcmullan. Good man hybrid One asked about jodi. What did he do in this offseason program and camp and the preseason to earn a spot on this team. Yeah just great story You know certainly was. It was fun to watch his press conference yesterday. Certainly excited Most of the guys on the zones probably can attest to You just talk about that. That mental toughness net resolve. I mean coming out here. And he had some oj days You know was still kind of transitioned to that site in position in their their practices out here in the spring. Where you know. The assignments weren't you know he's always had great hands and it was when we had him at receiver. he was on the practice about receiver. he was tough guy to cover Wanted to find a place where we can really utilize this size and skill set In regards mismatches Moving tight end and all the sudden. The terminology was different as he mentioned yesterday. Three point stance was different an that. Oj had a couple yet a couple of weeks where all of a sudden the head was spinning run the run routes and then all of a sudden drop balls which is very uncharacteristic of jodi And you know guys like that. I mean is easy to kinda feel sorry for yourself and you know just wanna go somewhere else and start fresh but i mean. The kid came back training camp with just a complete different mindset and it was just like you wipe the slate clean and once that attack this thing get after you know you guys heard him mention about get with open and finding out. How can you know if better teams So it was really an awesome store to see him. Just you know get his position move struggle but just continue to work. And just the blinders on and not listen to the outside noise just control. You can control. He did that he may plays. And you know certainly excited about his upside. You jodi be the first one to tell you that he's still not finished product. There's there's some more that needs to be done but a main you know just seeing him go in their land up in line and and take on some guys in the in the preseason and throw throws around as a blocker go down and cover kicks. It was transmitted growth in his in a short amount of time. And don't always athletic. And you got a great wingspan. Great hands so Again he'd be the first one to tell you that there's more work to do but excited for him and he certainly earned this roster spot got time for a couple more guys will go nick and then sam good nick rattle hall up to this Wrote when you're deciding on some of the final roster spots with actors you kinda waded into who to take with the waiver move on from a combination of You know special teams injuries at the time. So you know is always tough because there is that element of trying to project. Who will get claimed that who won't get claim You know also the communication. We have the coaching staff in regards in the drinks in regards to player status the first few weeks on making sure we can get through on. We got a tough schedule and again right off the bat coming out of the gate with a very strong opponent so we just wanna make sure that we're not all of a sudden lineup. We wanted in down at tom. And then just you know long-term Brooklyn and get together and bounce different ideas. We probably had about three or four different ideas of of the rostrum. We just kinda worked through it kind of came to decisions because although in from positioning your roster from where it was in april where it is today kind of surprises intrigued. Intrigues you but with the roster of becoming well. that's a good question. I think it's just kind of like we always say you know from where we warrant april. I'm not sure if guys like Mike us if he was on the roster or if we at that time we hadn't seen jody fortunate we thought dirty forts in spring now the sporting the camp so You know. I think it's it just kind of doubled down on that mindset of just continue to add players in you know we can make at the time before training camp if we could make the ninetieth player better than we have in our. Ostriches continued that. Because these guys do grown develop at different rates. And you know If you if you have a conviction about a guy or or It's all guys process. thurn college early career. If you have an opportunity to go out and get guys like mike us guy. We like coming out That opportunities every took it a jodi minnow but we allow him to continue to grow and develop so it really kinda just double double down on the at that You can never have enough to players in continues for ninety two or fifty three now to the practice squad to watch guys if we can get better on. The fresca guys will We'll make moves. They're the last to san. Miguel puts him a couple of quick things but You mentioned the fact that injury sort of dictate some things. Some time on wondering if Willie gays dealing with affected. Rosser decisions at all. Yeah i mean. I'd rather have an coach talk. Talk about that I know it's their deal there but Apparently there's some things are working through there and Go trump's eleven update you know in the next twenty four hours there. I don't have all the information. But it does factor into play You know in regards to Going back to what. I just said a few minutes ago just making sure that. We're not caught shorthanded. We want to make sure we have death. Penalties positions in. You know it works out in and you know we're carrying after this position but if not prepared so Elect cushion and area. But again all these things factor in the plane certainly getting up to speed in in being Deep at a position right off the bat and week one his his the or the process. Just lastly we saw marcus. Champa lot rotating with the ones or tuesday camp and obviously a special teams players. While can you kind of update us on his situation as he agai. You can proceeding back on this roster. He'll be back in nod anticipating being on the active roster in you know we'll have a corresponding move at a certain time here. We have some different areas to do different things but But i'd safe to say that that more can't can't believe back here and reverted contribute a hopefully we want..

Wurley from north hampton has being in touch Hi suzanne jobs rather curious about the word career Doubly this word can have both the meaning of a job with stability and progression but also moving in an uncontrolled. Way careering around. Is that any connection in the other of the two there absolutely is and the core idea behind. All of the meanings of career is of running or progressing on the course of some kind based on the latin carris c. a. r. u. s. a wheeled vehicle which of course gave his car it also gave his chariot and when career was first seized in english. It meant a racecourse..

"As i'd never podium before because allen was next me but the idea of finishing second or third in a competition is is in the nineties. It is nothing new. But i'll tell you a medal goes back from goes back to two nice from the medieval latin medaglia. Meant half a denarius of raymond coin and the ideas that there was very little difference in appearance between that harvard in areas and a metal. And that's where that comes from. And a medallion is a little bit later. And that's a larger metal medallion very good. Did we touch on arena of you told us about the origin of that word. Yes arena is slightly dark history because that goes back to the arabic sand aminat goes. I suppose goes back to the coliseum and gladiatorial combat because when blood was spilt and shared as it so often was assigned would be strewn across the arena in order to say cups. The blood. look if you've enjoyed hearing. Suzy telling us about the origin of all these words associated with sport athletics in the olympics. Thank you but if you have got queries. No and then just went onto we shape the future. History runnings incredible. It's fantastic and if you met these blokes. They were very modest. Actually they you know it was just one of the things that they had done and in a way it was good for them to have other things to do because the problem with being an athlete. "The athenians one they beat an invading persian army atmosphere and their various historical accounts at one which that describes how the the herald deputies ran one hundred fifty miles from athens to spotter to get help before the battle and then the legend changed a little bit and it changed to the story of a messenger running from marathon to athens which was a distance of twenty two miles with news of the victory but he fell dead on arrival and the first modern limping into nineteen ninety-six then institution as the as a long distance race but fortunately they based on the shorter version of the story which was twenty two miles rather than one hundred fifty goodness in in the united kingdom from this podcast comes and where conscious that we have a large international audience. We're very aware people of my generation of aware of the four minute mile because this was a recall that nobody had broken until the early one thousand nine hundred fifty something like nine hundred fifty four. An i'm of a vintage that i actually met and indeed got no of bit. The three runners who most involved with that roger bannister. Who is a doctor. And he was an amateur runner. He was living a doctor at the time. Christopher chataway and chris brazier they were all involved in this. Some of them were paces and roger bannister scored it but now it doesn't mean so much because we don't think there probably isn't a mile long race anymore. It will the thousand meters. Would it over two thousand meters and mile as always do is configured as long distance. Release the mind's eye because for the romans it was one thousand paces marched by troops that this was millais passes one thousand cases and assad was one eight thousand miles. You say that was just the distance covered by their foot races. But what i loved about roger bannister as a. He said he had learned his running. Not any as scrambled to the nearest air. Rachel to join the battle of britain so he would imagine the bombs in the machine gunfire raining on him if he didn't run fast..

"Just say that different stories into different. Defenses that people down in the early olympics was it always one person against one person. Individual runners individual shot put throw us. They teams really good question. Actually i'm not sure. If in eighty three hundred ninety three the emperor at the time who was a christian cooled for ban on all the pagan festivals he ended the ancient olympic tradition of seeming. Been going on for some time. And then they went restarted until eighteen. Ninety six and that was in athens and that was all down to some cooled baron. Pd kube after. He was a fronts as he might tell my terrible frenchaccent and he was dedicated to the promotion of games and sport. He visited the ancient olympic site. Apparently into this is what we need to revive. And yeah just. I mean had real in our mission i guess to actually make it happen and in the early days not many countries took part in the eighteen ninety s when he began to revive it. How many countries were well think it's the rings. The olympic rings which are blue and yellow and black and green and red. There's an interlocking rings. And they represent the five participating continents africa asia america europe and shana and the idea is at those colors together with a white background of st olympic flag could then go towards the colors of every single nation's flag who were participating at the time then..

"Dancing is the not everything stops when the music stops. Exactly what i think they. Can you imagine racing though. Well anyway we. We assume they're wearing the outfits. Yes we we assume that so moving on from that one race that were very sporting event added so that was the your loss off. That's how you pronounce it. It's dia you l. o. s. which translates doubled pipe and that was twice round the stadium so i suppose roughly equal four hundred meters today. That was the don coast which was a long race. That's what that means literally and it starts a probably fifteen hundred or even five thousand meters at the pentathlon which we know from today. The five events boxing without it in six hundred eighty eight chariot racing in six hundred eighteen and then something called pank ration- which translates is all force pam craciun and it's a combat was a combination of boxing and wrestling with no rules. Right it was really dangerous and everything was permitted department except biting gouge. Couching you're paying. Its is or attacking the genitals. Otherwise everything went. Can you unpack why we picture this image of these people doing everything but etc can you unpack some of the words in all. This was begin with the running. You mentioned pentathlon. That's greek penta is five isn't it. yes so athlone. The the athlon of pentathol case back to the greek for competing for a prize because an athlon was apprised. And that's where we get athlete from today. Someone who is proficient in sports but also takes part in competitive events. So that's the pentathlon decathlon which is ten events decathlon etc but all based on that athlone meaning a prize and words like run an sprint. Do they have an interesting very different places. So sprint is a scandinavian origin. She didn't come into english until the late eighteenth century but there's various cognate says we would say so similar words in scandinavian languages. Run is dramatic so in germany..

Although the last olympics we haven't been and in fact a lot of traveling but It really is fascinating to see The cultural importance of the opening ceremony. Because it it really does a country its chance to put its best foot forward and to represent present to people what they feel they are who they are as a country as a people as a culture and again the high bar from a technical standpoint is still the beijing opening ceremony But you know from an emotional standpoint. Again i would. I would give you the atlanta olympics. I would also say the london olympics was was a very emotional theatrical experience. Remember the london opening. what was they had. "Alina mahmoud and a panel of the smartest culture critics that i know as we dissect the discourse but also have a great time doing it. This is a cbc podcast. I never said that. I didn't want to go to the olympic games. That's why compete in the got third and maybe thing. I never said that. I hated the country. Never said that. All i said was i respect my people enough to nightstand or acknowledge something that disrespects them. I love my people period. That was american hammer. Thrower gwen berry talking about the backlash she faced for turning your back to the us flag on the podium at an olympic trial last month now some house. Republicans have asked the us olympic committee to remind athletes not to use the world stage to make what they call quote. Divisive hateful anti american statements. If you know your history you know the full song of the national anthem. The pair graphs speaks. The slaves in america are blooming slang and pilfered all over. The floor is disrespectful and it does not speak for black. Americans is argues. There's no there's no question. Gwen berry was protesting in the us. In tokyo olympic athletes will not be able to do what she did. The international olympic committee has updated a longstanding rule which banned protests and political statements. During the games olympians. Ken protest in interviews or social media even before a competition. But certainly not on the podium under threat of fines. I'm joined now by three canadian. Olympians one corn miller is eat mohawk water polo player who competed in the sydney games. Angela white is a hurdler who competed in athens. Rio and beijing and mark tewksbury has one gold silver and bronze and swimming and competed in the barcelona and seoul olympics. He's also the vp of the board for the canadian olympic committee. Good morning to you. All good morning when he when he clemmie start with you and we heard from bury their that was one thing for her to make her gesture to turn her back but then came the backlash what. What did you make of that being. An athlete doesn't make you a non-political being doesn't make you sensitive noor actually victim to racism and communal experience of your people. It's what drives a lot of us to succeed. We want to prove the world wrong. We wanna make our our statement. We wanna you know we want to show the world how strong we are but it doesn't insulate us from the impacts of what is happening on a daily basis to Indigenous people black people people of color the lgbtq community. Everybody and so this backlash to be expected is also i think it's it's an unrealistic expectation to think that these athletes are not going to after an entire lifetime of struggle and putting everything they have their passion so much work into achieving basically the top of their field to not want to raise awareness about who they are and that feeling of needing justice and to find justice and user platform is extremely strong and it is expected in many ways of people from the those communities from the indigenous community. I'm blocking to to kind of speak out..

"You know he was a guy coming out in the draft that that i actually went to his pro day and worked him out and met with them and watched all this tape. So i knew a lot of a lot about the young man to be honest with you from his college days and and all that stuff again the chance to work with them and meet with them in that so i had a little bit of understanding of who he was as a player like like i mentioned before then i went in and just looked at all the things that he had done why he's been in the nfl and that's part of you know helping him become a better player one percent and and really what i always find is. There's not a whole lot of wholesale things that you're trying to do differently with the player but it's just been out identify one little thing. Maybe it's just his toe point on a outside zone. Maybe it's just his shoulder level when he's running inside zone and just some of those little things. But i think we all know we've seen flashes that houses has got some good ability to them. I can't wait to to work with them. And see him grow even more and get them to hopefully to another level. I think that's that's my job as a coach to take what he brings to the table and help him improve on those things. All paul that much and jamal nice to meet you i wanted to ask about we had aaron moorehead on earlier today. And he talked about the use and you know the depth of that wide receiver room. I mean you see the same thing when you look at your running back and said that guys are going to be fighting their butts offered jobs. Is that a similar situation. Thinking you're in. You're running back room. I think you have to have that. You have to have healthy competition in a room. And i think it really just makes players rise to the best they can be and i do. I do see some competitiveness in a room. I do see some competition when you look at the the makeup of our room for miles to boston to jordan to now carry on now kenny gain will to huntley to elijah. I mean it's. It's a great room for that. I enjoy the room. I enjoy working with the guys guys that that. Wanna be pros and want to be the best they can possibly be. And at the end of the day. That that's how you want your roster be built with guys that are fighting for for position and know that they have to compete and know that they have to perform so yeah. I would agree with that that we're definitely a position. Where hey we got some competition going on. And i think that's good men's berman. Yeah jamal hey a non evils question your air force grad. Your dad was an air force. Sergeant i wanted to get your thoughts on the navy turning down. Cameron can lease a request to delay his commission and play in the nfl. Any thoughts on what. I think you kind of just said it. I'm an air force guy. You know so. Really what what the naval the navy decided to do. Have a whole. I don't know a whole lot of the background of kind of some of the things with the navy. I don't know what the reasonings were for that decision So to be honest with you if if is more of an air force question i might have a better answer for you but for for the navy. I guess they've got to do what's best for them. But not really something. That i know a whole lot about. Go ahead zach and jimmy kamsky tomorrow. Nice to meet you. You had joe mix in two years ago at at two hundred seventy plus carries. You've also had backfield's where it's kind of been split. What's your approach there. Do you wanna have that that quote unquote featured running back or or do you want to have a rotation in the backfield. I think it all depends on your room. And i think there are very specific skill sets that you need in your room you know you need a first down first and second down runner with that really elite ability you need a guy that can pass protect on third down and be short yardage you need another aback that can run routes and you can put them on empty and do those type of things so it's really a combination of that. I think the days of a true. Hey he's an every down back. I think that word is a little skewed these days because of the speed because of the contact because of it's a tough. It's a tough position to play. When you look at how many hits you can take in that so your room. The way i look at an. Nfl room has to have all those abilities now. How many guys it takes to get those abilities. That's where the differences could be two guys that you can get all those skill sets that you need could be three guys that you all those skill sets you need. But you've got to have some of those basic things in order to really. I think have a good position room in a position group. Now how that plays out. Just all depends. You may have two guys that are similar and maybe they split carries. You may have a guy that hey he's more capable of doing the past game stuff and that's kinda what he does but i think more more more each year you're going to see multiple backfield's multiple people in the backfield because of just the toughness of the position in what it requires jimmy and the knicks. Zero jamal Getting back to miles for a minute. He was good as a rookie in pass protection in as a receiver and those are two areas. Were things probably fair to say. Struggled a little bit in the second year the past. He's always been pretty accountable for shortcomings. Are you seeing that with him this year in those two areas in. What does he have to do to get better on passing downs in as i mentioned before kind of when i come into a room and look at the things that they do another thing that i also come in is. I make sure that each and every player knows. They've got a clean slate. What they've done in the past really doesn't matter to me as much as what they're gonna do in the future so it's more about helping those guys develop it not taking any negative things from the past or even positive things. I want us to be in a position. Where hey we build a foundation each and every day of who we're going to be what type of players were going to be. And i think for some guys it it gives them a little for okay. You know what last year was last year. And there's a lot of things that i can do this year things that i can control. We can't control what's happened in the past but we can definitely help what's going on in the future so working with him he he does. He has a skill set. That has a lot of abilities to it and again working on each one of those abilities with from his route running to his pass catching to his running the football. All those things that really at the end of the day you're gonna work a whole year backswing so i'm excited to see what it's been fun working with them. So far We haven't had a whole lot of time so there's a lot more things that i look forward to working with him on and we'll get point here. Will we get closer to the season of really known. Okay who is miles in twenty twenty one.

jimmy kamsky three guys tomorrow two guys elijah boston jamal second one percent kenny gain will last year zach aaron moorehead joe mix this year two years ago two areas Cameron first third
