"Know <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Telephony_Male> the insides of <Speech_Male> the sport and <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> this was not an <Speech_Male> inexpensive <Speech_Male> pillar at all. <Speech_Male> This was a <Speech_Male> massive penalty in <Speech_Music_Male> regard <SpeakerChange> to money. <Speech_Music_Male> I'm not sure we're going to <Speech_Music_Male> know until my time <Speech_Music_Male> may tell <SpeakerChange> whether it was the right <Speech_Music_Male> size. Yeah, it may. <Speech_Music_Male> I don't know, yo, <Speech_Music_Male> what <Speech_Music_Male> do you do? I mean, <Speech_Music_Male> you talk about <Speech_Music_Male> the penalty bigger <Speech_Music_Male> for the winner, <Speech_Music_Male> which was Denny Hamlin versus <Speech_Music_Male> what it <Speech_Music_Male> was for Kyle Busch, who <Speech_Music_Male> finished second there. <Speech_Music_Male> Yeah, <Speech_Male> maybe monetarily. <Speech_Male> Certainly. <Speech_Music_Male> They <Speech_Music_Male> differ in <Speech_Music_Male> that respect. <Speech_Music_Male> It's just, <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> it's a tough situation. <Speech_Male> But when you <Speech_Male> disc when you <Speech_Male> send a crew chief <Speech_Male> home four weeks <Speech_Male> for a tire change you're not <Speech_Male> doing his job, <Speech_Male> then you have to wonder <Speech_Male> if somewhere <SpeakerChange> along the <Speech_Male> way, somebody else didn't <Speech_Male> need to get a <Speech_Male> penalty in this. It could <Speech_Male> be a whole other show, <Speech_Male> just discussing that. <Speech_Male> You're <SpeakerChange> on. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Hey, guys. <Speech_Male> How <Speech_Male> y'all doing today, <Speech_Telephony_Male> by the way? Great <Speech_Male> time. William, <Speech_Male> great time. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> my question for you <Speech_Telephony_Male> guys is <Speech_Male> within the next 5 <Speech_Telephony_Male> weeks, <Speech_Male> Steve, especially <Speech_Male> this goes for <Speech_Male> you. Do you <Speech_Male> think Kevin Harvick <Speech_Male> possibly has <Speech_Telephony_Male> a chance of making <Speech_Male> the playoffs <Speech_Male> if any more guys <Speech_Male> get d-q'd? <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Well, I'm <Speech_Music_Male> hoping we don't see any more <Speech_Music_Male> DQs. Kevin Harvick's <Speech_Male> chance of <Speech_Male> making the playoffs. <Speech_Male> I hated <Speech_Male> to see him getting that accident <Speech_Male> Pocono because he's <Speech_Music_Male> finally where it needs to be <Speech_Music_Male> a little bit closer to the front <Speech_Music_Male> to make something happen. <Speech_Music_Male> I think it's an uphill <Speech_Music_Male> battle for Kevin Harvick. <Speech_Music_Male> We have a couple road courses <Speech_Music_Male> coming up. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Those haven't been his <Speech_Music_Male> best <SpeakerChange> racist <Speech_Music_Male> statistically, <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Well, I'm <Speech_Music_Male> hoping we don't see any more <Speech_Music_Male> DQs. He could <Speech_Music_Male> win at any <SpeakerChange> time, <Speech_Music_Male> but the numbers aren't <Speech_Music_Male> lying. He's over <Speech_Music_Male> 60 races. It's <Speech_Music_Male> like a 64 65 <Speech_Music_Male> race winless streak. <Speech_Music_Male> It's becoming a bigger <Speech_Music_Male> uphill task. I <Speech_Music_Male> do believe it's must win <Speech_Male> though. Points aren't gonna <Speech_Male> help this man <SpeakerChange> at this point. <Speech_Male> He's gonna have to win. <Speech_Male> Yeah. "Calls, but there's so much to talk about when you look at this week in motor sports, right? We have Mike joy on the download. We have a little NRX little nitro Rx racing IndyCar Xfinity and NASCAR Cup Series for Indy before we take the phone calls real quick. We're all going to be there. Indianapolis, the place is unbelievable. How great is it going to be to see Xfinity? IndyCar and cup. Two days full of racing from the road course. Yeah, it's just fascinating to see the difference in speed. When you put them when they're on the same track, exactly. It's like, oh my gosh, I mean, when we were running the brickyard and you go see an IndyCar run around there, Jeff and the stock cars that we drove. No comparison. Not saying it's what any more difficult what we did. Right. But the speed difference is that, and it's the same way on that road course. So just an incredible weekend. And I love watching the stars respect the stars. Biggest fans will be the other drivers. All right, let's hit the phones. We're gonna go through as many as we can here. Drew, go ahead. Hey guys, thanks for having me on. Real quick. At this point in the season is Chase Elliott's regular season points lead insurmountable. All right, Jeff, I'm gonna give that one to you. Chase sell it. He's gaining points. He has over a hundred points for the regular season champ, 5 races left. Anyone catching him? No, no one's catching him. Yes, his instrumental. All right, I like it simple enough there. All right, Justin, go ahead. Well, it's not practical for a NASCAR. If you have a 14 four core team and two of the cars get hit with something, and playoff points are so important right now. Wouldn't it be important for a NASCAR possibly to look at the other two Joe gift cards because that could hit a Kevin Hart coming over getting into the playoffs. All right, great question. Thank you for calling in just a DJ. I think the real simple fact is, all right, we know the 11 to 18 were caught. And while we know the 20 wasn't in the top 5 didn't go, you know, it all affects the playoffs. I think it's a legitimate question. I think you kind of have to let the chips fall where they are, do you have a differing opinion? No, I don't own that. I mean, I'm so difficult. I mean, it's almost impossible. I mean, you've had the teams there for a certain amount of time. They have to get back on the road. You know, it's not like that. It's an hour down the road or anything like that. So I think when everything's done and said, you have to move forward. I think there is a number that needs to be put on there that we're going to keep close by. You can go ahead and load your stuff up if I'm that. Loads of stuff up, but you sit right here that until we get through with the expecting the winner and the second place till we get to where we know we have a winner and then we're not going any further back. NASCAR has shown they've been flexible to make changes. We'll see if it changes this weekend. Nick, go ahead. Hey, thanks for taking my call. Question for you guys. Was the penalty that JGR was assessed enough based on the infraction. We saw RFK earlier this year. They got the book thrown at them for what they did. Was it enough for what they penalized JGR four? All right, so I'm going to start with this one. Great question, Nick. All right, let's start with what they got penalized. I think it's different from the 11 to the 18 because when you win a race, it's more than just prize money. There's things that enact in your sponsorship and your manufacturers. There's a lot of things that total that bucket of money up that you get. So it with financially was a big hit. It's impossible to say the number, but I am confident it's well more than what anyone has paid in a fine yet. So the question then becomes points because I don't know exactly how many order, but one, but it wasn't a hundred points, as RFK lost. So we're a little split, not big enough, big enough with the DQ. I think this comes down for me, what is the value of DQ next to your name in the record books? Yeah. It's a great question. And it's something that will be continued to be debated. I mean, honestly, yeah, it's a great question. And listen, there's no straight answer for it. To be blunt about it, it's a lot of opinions about it, but I do agree with seeing what DJ was saying. This penalty to give is much bigger than people are recognizing. And we know the insides of the sport and this was not an inexpensive pillar at all. This was a massive penalty in

"Think there's two parts of this. I don't think the disqualification adds anything to what's going on with the 18 of Kyle Busch. But getting outrun by Danny Hamlin may or may not. He didn't win that race with one of the better cars. Ty Gibbs did run pretty well to your point, DJ. I checked in with ties management team. He didn't even get TRD simulator time. I think we talked about same time. It was iRacing. It was 40 laps on iRacing. Jeff, your son is learning this new car. You're around drivers all the time in this new car. How impressive is it that ty Gibbs, I don't even say talent because I don't think a question that it was his maturity that impressed me the most that he was willing to be held back and just go through the process of a Sunday in the Cup Series. So I think that's exactly right. I agree with you a 100%. He did a nice job of doing exactly what the goal was. The goal was to run some lats stay in the lead lap. Hopefully get something good happen. They did. They got to restart with the rec with Denny Hamlin or all Chastain. He was in the right line, picked up like 7 or 8 spots, but then never gave them back. Like that's what you expect from a rookie you expect, okay, we're going to give you a talented rookie. We're going to give you some track position and then find a way to keep it. He did all those things. So I agree with I agree with what you're saying. He needs to learn how to be a cup driver. He knows how to be an extended driver. He needs to learn how to be a cub driver and drive these cars. Yeah, I mean, he's impressed me from day one. The day that he went to went to Daytona on the road course and won that race, I'm like, that guy's for real. There's no getting around it. Yeah. So let's move the conversation forward a little bit when we look at Kyle Busch, right? So 60 wins, two time chain. I think everybody knows what you're losing behind the wheel if you can't re sign Kyle Busch. There's no doubt. No one up here is going to say man can't drive. The question is there's a little bit of fog around the business model M and M Mars is out. Can they sell him? Can they raise the capital to bring him back so the simple question is, DJ, if they can't get the business correct. Yep. Would you lose sleep over having to let college know? Knowing he's probably going to go win wherever he goes. But moving Thai gives into that seat. Yeah, okay, so let me say one thing first. And so this is going everybody saying Denny Hamlin cheated and got disqualified in Kyle Busch. New one knew anything about what was done there. They drove their race cars the way they were. And that's what you do as a driver. You don't know these things. So leave them out. If you're going to stay at the team, took this. I'm going to say, I'm going to disagree with a little bit of what you said there while I go, I think it's they're trying to sell sponsorship. When you're talking to companies that are willing to spend 15, $20 million to get on the side of a race car and your organization with Kyle Busch as the driver and your team gets disqualified from a race. I think that's a point that they're having a hard enough time before that happened to sell sponsorship there in today's world. I don't think that's a good thing. Couldn't have been could not have been worse timing. You know, this isn't something that we need to say. They go do all the time. Have they always pushed the envelope? Absolutely. Unfortunately, they got called at this time. So I hope that it doesn't do that. I would not, I know they are doing everything between Toyota Joe Gibbs Racing and all the marketing companies. They've even brought in other people trying to sell sponsorship to keep him. They do not want to race against Kyle Busch somewhere else because they know the talent that they have there. He's one of the top drivers to ever come through that the sport of NASCAR race and then in the Cup Series, future Hall of Famer. You don't want to let him go, but I think this could hurt. There's already friction in the relationship, if not the deal would be done. Because whether it's business or not, it's still friction, right? If you can't pay me, and I think you should, or whatever's going on, that's still friction, even if we get along. And then you add this. Then you add this, and I can not get out of my head, helmet, New Hampshire, saying on the radio, hey, make note with the slowest Gibbs car here. And then you get beat by a teammate, and then you get d-q'd. There is already tension and this does nothing to help it. So absolutely nothing. So that's fascinating, though, because so right, so the crew chief in me, right? I was never been a team owner, had never been the rep out there trying to sell myself. I see the DQ is just one more penalty. But if I'm hearing you correctly, I want to go back to this because this is fascinating to me. Your point is that it's not points and penalty whatever. The image, the perhaps tarnished image, does a company in today's world won't align with someone who has been disqualified. Forget penalties, forget fines, disqualified. You think that term right there makes this penalty larger than points in money. I had 100% to me. I think that's why this is the biggest penalty that they could put down on someone who never you look at his teammate Denny Hamlin. He got the trophy and all of that taken away. And the wind. He was going to be the winningest driver ever at Pocono. But when you're trying to sell a company on the fact that, hey, we're a reputable business. We do things right. We do everything the right way. And then you have a dequeue beside your name at a race that you ran second in. I think they, in one sense, they appreciate the effort, but in companies they're probably trying to sell to. They're out here, these companies are ones that are dealing with the public and they can't take that chance.

"There was a shop that opened him at 20 to one and man three minutes later, it was 15 to one, and now he's ten to one. So there were definitely some people that were able to get in on Chastain at that early price. I don't think that I would not be one of those individuals for the record. I wonder who did. Anyway, I would say chess son of a match. I would say Chastain is probably properly priced right now that I would say anywhere from 8 to ten to one. I feel like is where you can see Ross. Suarez is another, you know, he can be an enigma. He's kind of, I've had a hard time winning betting on him or betting against him. Sometimes when I think he's going to be good, he's not. And other times when I think he's going to be bad, he's good. So I do know when he was in the Gibbs equipment. He did have some good finishes here at Pocono, but I also think that it was a little bit easier to pass. So I think that qualifying is going to be super important for this team. Otherwise, they're going to have to take a little bit a little bit more risk than other teams in order to get that track position in kind of ensure that he can get a good finish. So I obviously like Chastain a little bit more than Suarez, but I think with where prices are, I actually, I actually like that Suarez at 30, you know, maybe not the wind price, but that top 5 price at four to one. I like that a lot more than I like the Chastain top 5 price, which is probably right around plus one 30 to plus one 50. You can think a car is fast, but it's all about the number. You can love or driver at 20 to one and want no part of him at 8 to one or ten to one. That's part of the beauty that comes not only in NASCAR, but sports betting in general. And in depth Pocono breakdown of some of the drivers to watch this weekend, as always, if there's a matchup that catches our eye, we'll have that best bet available for you on the bet the board website will tweet out a link. It'll come from our feeds and want you guys to be able to get down on that because we've talked about it great links. Once we have a lot more information at our disposal, it allows for us to make much more informed decisions and the positions we take on race day, significantly larger than what will typically take earlier in the week. The reason I give you all of that is to ask you this question, mister worm, the Cup Series can be a little bit challenging sometimes when you try and find some value. I have an inkling, obviously, because we talk beforehand, so I'm not going to claim that I had no knowledge that we're not going to the Cup Series this weekend to try and find our best bet for Pocono race weekend. Nope, we are looking no further than the Xfinity series this week for the best bet. And my best bet of the week is going to be coal Custer at plus 5 50 or better to win the Xfinity race. Now, hear me out. I think Cole Custer might be one of the best Xfinity series drivers that there is right now. I know that everyone's like, well, how can you say that? He's only run a few times. Listen, he runs an O 7 car that's not competitive unless he's in it. I understand that they have an alliance with SHR when he's in it. However, he goes out there and he competes. Let me tell you about his pit crew. I think his pit crew consists of like two accountants and insurance salesman and then like a grocery store clerk. I mean, their pit stops are terrible. And he's going to lose four or 5 spots every time. But at this track, you can make up four or 5 spots in a hurry. And I think that a lot of people are saying he might not have the horsepower under the hood in order to win this race. But I think it's less about horsepower and more about the run you get off the corner. When you're coming on that long pond straightaway, which is the longest straightaway we see in racing, it's more about how quickly you get to the gas off the corner versus the horsepower underneath the hood. So I'm going to say that the best bet is Cole Custer plus 5 50 or better. I've seen anywhere from plus 5 50 to 8 to one. I think that's the best bet of the day. If you're going to protect maybe protect with a little bit of that tight Gibbs guy, I heard he's going to driving to and he said in a fast car. But for the most part, you know, my best bet is Cole Custer this week. And then tune in on Sunday morning, I will be giving the best bet. I don't want to brag, but we're three on those bets so far this year. Yeah, let's hope we can continue that hot hand there and like always on Sunday morning we'll tweak that out when it's updated on the website, encourage folks to check it out. And we always look to try and wait until most of the books are up in the market to give you guys an opportunity to take that match up alongside of us. Pocono weekend always a little bit of fun when mother nature complies, it's great anytime you get a race weekend with all three series in action, a little double dip on Saturday with the truck race, the Xfinity series, and a little bit of cup qualifying and practice sandwiched in there. The Cup race on Sunday, and we'll hope that we keep our hot hand here on stay green. Any final words of wisdom parting shots, things that you would like to share with our racing audience before we bid them a fond farewell? Well, I think that it's just important to know that there are some tracks that are better than others. From a gambling perspective and early in the week, this is just one track where I'd rather kind of let the weak come to us and then see what kind of value presents itself after practice and qualifying and not get too tied up in opinions early in the week. So although I do love this track, I think the racing is great. A little bit hesitant to be super involved at this point in the week at this track. Makes a ton of sense, discretion can be the better part of valor. It's a mantra that all sports betters live by encourage all of you if you're not already doing so to follow Chris on Twitter that's Chris wormy CHR ISW ER ME one 5. "Your hosts. Todd fuhrman and racing analyst Chris wormy. Welcome into the stay, green podcast, a bet the board production in conjunction with NASCAR. Pocono, the tricky triangles, we head to long pond Pennsylvania this weekend. I am your host Todd fuhrman joined as always by racing analyst Chris wormy and worm. You said it yourself on this very podcast last week, loudon is one of your favorite tracks on the cup schedule and I have to imagine it did not disappoint last Sunday. No, I thought it went really, really well. I kind of wish Harvick had kind of taken four tires on that last stop. I think I would like it even more if that were the case. However, I'll take this. Also, it's nice to cache that matchup for sure. No doubt about it. Kyle Busch made a sweat a little bit. Hopefully all of you are loyal listeners out there have been checking out the website on Sundays when we update some of the race day matchups as we have the best information available and typically like we've said that plays that will make earlier in the week smaller positions. And when you have the information at your disposal, you try and beat them up much closer to race day. Also for those folks new to stay green if this happens to be your first episode, we divide the podcasts up stage one. We essentially recap the race that was and try and figure out what we learned from the previous installment and apply that going forward. Stage two, we look at some handicapping concepts and try to make all of you smarter NASCAR betters going forward. And stage three last certainly not least, we break down the race for the upcoming weekend. Want to remind all of you guys as well to follow Chris on Twitter that's at Chris wormy CHR ISW ER ME one 5. I'm Todd fuhrman, you can follow me there as well. And most importantly, follow the podcast the board pod. And worm, when we look at the way loud and played out, you and I talked about Christopher Bell this being one of his favorite tracks. He went out there and lived up to all expectations, outracing chase Elliott, and that long green flag run of over a hundred laps or so. Bell led the final 42 laps of the race when you're looking at what he was able to do, put more than 5 seconds of distance between him and the 9. As I know you and I were both probably yelling at our respective TV, stay green, the last thing we needed was a caution flag coming on late. Christopher Bell makes the 14th different winner on this cup schedule so far this season. He's quietly putting together a lot of good runs and since Dover, his average finish is right around tenth. Meanwhile, a driver that you mentioned, Kevin Harvick, that we were extremely bullish on going in. Had a race winning car wasn't able to get to the checkered flag, but suddenly with another race winner, him and veteran Martin Truex Junior find themselves in very perilous positions as far as trying to secure passage to the postseason. Yeah, this Chris Bell, I mean, he's a great driver. I've been high in Chris Bell for a long time. It's unfortunate that he kind of had to step into the JGR squad and kind of boot out Eric Jones, who I also think is a great driver. But I've been hiring Chris Bell for a long time. But he's also really hard to know if he's going to be good. I know that we snagged an 18 to one price kind of earlier in the week. Not knowing if he was going to be able to repeat the performance that he had last year at loudoun where he was kind of very similar situation, you know, chasing down Almirola, where he was chasing down chase this last week. It was funny because I was looking to make live bets and I get a text from a friend of mine that says, do we need to add bell? And I thought, oh, maybe Belle's gonna win. And then I thought to myself, oh, yeah, we already have him. And there was like a two to 5 second window when I was like, oh my gosh, do I not have Chris Bell? And I had completely forgotten that we had bed him earlier in the week. I even texted you after the race. I'm like, you had him, right? And you're like, yeah, you don't remember the conversation that we have? Well, I've had a lot of conversations about NASCAR this week. He is such a tough guy to know whether he's going to be good or not. Sometimes I think he's good and he runs at the tail end of the lead lap and other times I think he's going to be trash and he runs up front. So I think it's a testament to these younger guys, guys like Briscoe bell, they get better throughout the race. I think that they do, you know, the amount that they're able to learn the first half of the race really benefits them late. So I was happy to see Chris Bell when he looks like he's 14 years old, holding up a lobster that's the same size as himself. So kind of an interesting, it's funny how grossed out people are with the lobsters. I mean, let's not kid ourselves. That thing isn't just the lobster. I mean, anybody who's gone into a restaurant, you get one and a quarter pounders. That's a hell of a lot different than picking up a 20 pounder that you're holding there by the claws trying to figure out what the hell is going on. And if memory serves me correct, Christopher Bell is from where Oklahoma. I don't think there's a lot of lobsters in some of the flyover states in the center of the U.S.. But either way, Christopher Bell, he punches his ticket to the NASCAR playoffs, but his teammate, of course, still finds himself needing to do some work before the regular season comes to an end. And that, of course, would be Martin Truex Junior, who said the car didn't handle the same once he got shuffled back in traffic. He of course took two tires, much like Kevin Harvick at the final pit stop for them. He ends up leading a race high in laps and he wins his 6th and 7th stages of the season, which leads the Cup Series, but until you win that phrase to know that you're locked into a playoff bid, Martin Truex Junior continues to have the pressure ratchet up as we go to Pennsylvania and beyond. I think that this is an ongoing theme in NASCAR. And I don't have a ton of specific races where I can think, but I just looking back at the season, if someone that's led a lot of laps gets shuffled back in traffic, even if it's to like 5th or 6th place, it's amazing how frustrated they become with their car. I mean, clean air is so important with this new car at almost every track that Martin Truex Junior is like, I don't need any adjustments all day as he's running

"Canal tour, which was fantastic and the canal boats. That was so much fun to float around there and as a family we're walking around town and enjoying the sights and getting ice cream and all this stuff. And I'm taking a picture of Sean. In this little tiny doorway and it was a cute, cute photo, and it was amazing and we look up and there's a red light running. I wonder what that, oh my gosh, we need to leave. So yes, there is a interesting. A literal red light district and we brought our kids into there. So hopefully, wow, they survived. Okay. But lots of fun. And then we rented a car, we drove from Netherlands through Germany, on the autobahn. Oh my God, so much fun. No. How fast did you go? No speed limit. I did a 160 kilometers an hour at one point. What does that mean? It's way over a hundred miles an hour. Oh, okay, well, that's good. So it was fun. And while doing so, while doing 160 kilometers an hour, whatever that is, a Mercedes flew by me on the left lane, like I was standing still. Throwing his hands up. Like, come on, dude. He was flying. Just flying. Incredible. Incredible stuff. I mean, you know, it was probably JJ Yeley all mad about all the times you've called him a bad driver. Probably. Oh man, I'm bummed now. Okay, a 160 kilometers an hour is 99 miles an hour. Oh, you were going 99. You couldn't quite get that one. No more. Drive back. So I have an opportunity to get it done again. Yeah, so what you should do is convert whatever your favorite speed that you've always wanted to hit in the kilometers per hour, so you know what to hit. Yeah. So yeah, it's going well. It's a lot of fun. We still got a couple weeks to go. So we're hanging out here with our next show is going to be from Europe as well. So, wow. Good times. We did that already. So the checkered flag is flying on the show. This has been the final lap weekly, catch us next week right here when we will recap the racing from Pocono and I don't have a schedule in front of me. What's next? You don't know either. Man, I'm just surviving at this point in the season. We're just like sucking wind, ribs are shown around here. It's bad. Indianapolis road course is next, folks. All right, Indianapolis Motor Speedway next up on the schedule. And we'll have that and all the stories in between Toby you and I will chat next week. We sure will, man. Die now for our giant list

"About 15 minutes of good advice over there. And before I forget, I want to give a shout out to Joe bike. Thanks for doing what you do. And if y'all didn't notice Joe bike placed forth on last weekend's New Hampshire race. Good job, Joe. And once again, thanks for being our patriot pilot. And also before I get finished up here, a shout out to our new top dog. We have a new leader. Sparks are flying. The top ten leaderboard got all kinds of mixed up and the points are starting to tighten up. Looks like we're gonna have a good playoff battle going all the way through the end of the season. And so, that's all I have for you for this week. And as always, guys, thanks once again for sticking around and listening to the final app weekly fantasy segment of the show. I am rowdy dragon. I'll be back again. Next week. Man, rowdy dragon. You know, doing it again. For Pocono, NASCAR style fantasy NASCAR. Thank you so much to him for being on the program as always. He just delivers. He does not stop. And he lives eats, breathes, fantasy NASCAR, so we appreciate ride dragon. That's awesome. It's almost like the second he's done recording and finished with his segment for the week. He's back in his laboratory, figuring out the next week. And just grinding away in the next thing going. Constantly, constantly. So very cool. Hey, be sure to subscribe and give us a good rating wherever you get your podcasts. We totally appreciate that. And I think that's it on this show, right? Wow, I think we did it. So yes. Pretty good stuff, man. Intercontinental global style. So before we go, how's the vacation going? What all of you guys have been doing and what do you have left to do? Go on going great. We flew into Amsterdam. We spent a few days in Amsterdam already. It's the bicycle situation. There is unbelievable. I mean, I couldn't even describe it for you. There are the bicycle situations unbelievable. Well, let's put it this way. There are two bikes for every human. Okay. And there's 900,000 people living there. So interesting. I'll have to send you a photo. There are bikes. There's literally parking lots of bikes. And double stacked and they're everywhere. And if you don't know, if you don't look where you're going, walking, you will get run over. We did the

"With rowdy dragon for Pocono music. Hey everybody, rowdy dragon here. Welcome back to the final F weekly fantasy segment of the show. We're coming off of New Hampshire motor speedway, another good race. And another new finisher. This is shaping up to be a very interesting playoff. All right, diving right on into it, taking a look at this week's stage winners, stage one goes to monster mania. And stage two was owned by darkwing M quack. We've got two winners this week and Jay hit the pace car and Q's soldier. I think I'm saying that, right? They had 270 points and a whopping 69 stage points. Very well done there. There was a lot of movement on the fantasy board this week. Looks like people are running out of drivers. Or just couldn't hit it this week, myself included. I finished in 113th place this week. And fell down three spots to 24th. That goes to show me there was quite a few people that had movement. Kobe Christie also bad week. 172nd place finish for him, drops him down to 55th in the standings. And Carrie Murphy slowly catching Toby again, where's Jimmy, came in 123rd, sliding down a little bit to the 91st spot. All right, let's take a look at last week's picks Blaney in the 12 Martin Truex Junior in the 19 and Kevin Harvick in the floor and see how well they did. Ryan Blaney, he never had a handle on the Carl weekend. His practice speeds were in the low 20s, he qualified outside the top ten. I took him out of my lineup. And then race day made a bad decision and put him right back in before that race started. Although it wasn't a complete failure, I wasn't happy with his fantasy rankings of 19th. With zero stage points, this, however, was a perfect weekend to see how practice. Translated into the race in Ryan's case. Looking at Martin Truex Junior, he came home with the most fantasy points doubling down on his stage wins. Still not closing the deal with the win. He's getting close, but without a win, these points for him are moot. He's gonna need that win. However, those points are great for us fantasy players. I'll take them. And looking at the four car of Kevin Harvick, he finished in the 5th position ranking third most in fantasy points, also doubling down in the stages. His practice speeds and qualifying were good enough to keep him in my lineup, worked out quite well. Pretty solid picks for the week. Let's see if we can't do that again. Let's take a look at this week's featured pics if you have any of these three drivers left, it's a good time to put one or all of them in your lineup this weekend. We're looking right back there at the four car of Kevin Harvick. He's got 42 races run with an average finish of 11.7 in his career. 15 of those were top 5 that's a 36% chance. 22 of those were top tens, up to 52% chance at a top ten using Kevin Harvick. He averages 6.6 laps per race with 277 collapsed lead over his career, and he has one win at the track. That's a 2% chance. But I think it's a little bit higher than that. I'll tell you the hair in a second. Out of the ten races and the 20 stages run, Kevin has picked up points in 14 of those stages. Two of them were stage wins, and four of those were second place stages. Now looking back, 15 races going all the way back to August 2014. Harvick has finished inside the top ten in all but two races. Now the four car has had a gang of second place finishes at the poconos with 5, which should help fix that skewed average winds category a bit to help you in your decision whether or not to put him in your lineup for this weekend's race. All right, now looking at the second driver for this weekend. I'm looking at Kyle Larson in that 5 car. He's also got some pretty good stats here with 14 races run. He's got an average finish of 11.4. Four of those were top 5s at 29%. 8 of those finishes were top tens that equates to a 57% chance at a top ten finish. He's led a 116 laps in those 14 races that's 8.28 laps led per race. Still hasn't got his win there yet. Looking at his stage point total. He has 13 out of 16 stages with points collected. In his stage wins, he's got three of them. And one second place stage finish. He's got some pretty good stats at this track. Maybe this weekend he'll get it done. Looking at the 5 cars average in the poconos since racing with the Hendrick organization, it's a 5.5. And if you add one more, race in there, it actually brings it down to a 5.3. One of those races while running the 42 car over at Chip Ganassi. So keep an eye on that 5 car on those practice speeds and the qualifying times. Again, if they back them up, that's called consistency. Okay, looking at the last feature driver for this week. 18 car Kyle Busch he's got 34 races run with an average finish of 15.1. 11 of those races were top 5s. That's a 32% chance at the top 5. And 18 of those were top tens, that is a 53% chance at a top ten using Kyle Busch. 522 laps led over his career equals 15.35 laps per race. He has a total of four wins in those 34 races that's a 11.76% chance at a win. Looking at his stage points in the ten races he's run there. Since the inception of stage points, he's collected points in 13 out of 20 of those stages. And to his credit, four stage wins and a couple of second place stage finishes. Couple things to note, Kai has only one finish outside the top ten in the last 11 races in the poconos. That being said that 38 plays finish was his 6th DNF at the track and the only race he didn't lead laps. Kyle has been consistent otherwise he should be a good luck for a top ten finish. At loudon, the 18 car was clearly best in practice. But with bad qualifying performance, it left him stuck deep in the field fighting for position all day long. Poconos should not be that hard to pass, but keeping on those practice speeds and whether or not he can back it up with his qualifying effort. Something he couldn't

"Off and then I realized oh wait a minute I can't use it this year. Right, I'm gonna be in Europe. They don't allow Nimitz sticks. No, no, it would be a whole thing through customs and what is this thing and so they really have this American bringing his Nimitz stick here. Right, exactly. Hey, last year's winners on the double header weekend there were Alex Bowman and Kyle Busch. Yeah, and this is a track that is streaky. So this is a place where when somebody wins there, they typically go on to success for several years at the racetrack. But with the new next gen car, who knows? I mean, this could be open season for somebody new. And we've seen guys like Bubba Wallace kind of closing in. He finished 5th year last year. He was third this past weekend. That might be somebody to look forward to. I don't know, rowdy dragon will probably fill us in on more. But I'm kind of excited to see who might break through this weekend. Yeah, he's waiting in the wings. He's got his eye of the Tiger going. He's got, you know, somebody rubbing his muscles on the top and he is fired up. He is ready to get his headband on. That's right. Sweat dripping everywhere. He's ready to go. So we've got three. We got three turns at Pocono Raceway. So we've got three races in the NASCAR series. So let's begin with the truck series. Saturday, 12 p.m. eastern on Fox 60 laps 150 miles. Xfinity series also Saturday later that day, 5 p.m. eastern on USA 90 laps, 225 miles and the Cup Series. The big show, Sunday, 3 p.m. eastern on USA 160 laps, 400 miles, the one and only Toby Christie is going to handle the race recap on that on the radio side as well for Monday's program. By the way, great job this past week, covering for me on the Monday radio show, doing the whole New Hampshire thing. That was awesome. Thank you so much. Yeah, thanks for having me on there, man. That was really cool. And to be able to say that I am the only person other than Carrie Murphy who has hosted that was kind of an honor. It's really cool. Yeah. Began the show in 2004 and I have been the only one ever to host the show through sickness and health and everything. It's almost like a long-term marriage and now someone else, besides me, has hosted the show and I couldn't have asked for a better fill in host. Well, I appreciate it. And yeah, there's been a lot of close calls over the years since we've been talking to each other and there have been several times. You're like, hey, be at the ready, my voice isn't right. And the other. Right. And you've always pulled through and found a way. So it was one of those things where you asked me to do it and I was like, yeah, we'll see. Last second, he'll be like, I'll do it, man. Yeah, it's every time it's been like, I can't let it go. I can't let it go, and this time, because of the time difference, 9 hours and the race was literally going on overnight and I would have to wake up and get myself up to speed and figure out what happened and by the time that happened, my deadline would be over. I'm like, you know what? Toby can do it. There you go. I'm just glad it turned out good. And let's rock and roll one more time this weekend. All right, drivers. Fantastic PH at Pocono. Of course. Brad Keselowski has a win there 11 top 5s, 15 top tens, and a poll average finish of 10.5 third best. Third best, this could it be? Could the guy 30th in points or 28th or whatever it is he is? Oh my God, that'll shake it up. Wow. Don't Logano also one win four top 5s, ten top tens, two poles, average finish those 17.192. Yikes, Kevin Harvick has a win 15 top 5s 22 top tens. A poll, average finish there is 9.5 second best. Wait, so the guys that are second and third best in all time average finish this track have no win this year. Oh my goodness. Something could happen. And then look at this, Ryan Blaney also win list this year has one win two top 5 6 top tens in a poll average Finch of 11.417. That's 5th best. That's not too shabby either. Martin Truex Junior's got a couple of wins there, 6 top 5s, 13 top tens. A poll average finish of 14.7. That is 9th best. Yeah, and that is the one, two, three. That's the fourth winless driver on this list right now this year, so definitely opportunity for a win for some of these people. Kurt Busch, three wins in this racetrack, 14 top 5s, 21 top tens, two poles and average finish of 13th. You got the Kyle Busch there has four wins, 11 top 5s, 18 top tens for polls, average finish of 15.1 with those stats. It boggles the mind. He's tenth best. Yeah, that's pretty wild. How about Denny Hamlin though? The Pocono master. Remember when he came in here and won his first two races at Pocono, swept the season and just became a Pocono master. 6 wins he's a mask now over his career 14 top 5. 21 top tens and three poles, average finish of 11.125. That's fourth best. All right, is he ready? Can we let him out? He's like a rabbit dog over there now ready, ready to go. All right, we got to take his steam coming out of the green room. I know we got to take off the cape. We've got to let him in and fire up that fantasy NASCAR with rowdy dragon for Pocono music.

"So that's a bummer, but at the cost of what road America is, we could be seeing a huge new fan base for NASCAR. And this could be a new tradition that excites the entire fan base. I'm just thinking of the Chicago local news that weekend. That's the visual that's going to happen. I mean, it's just going to be huge. These big colorful sponsor laden cars racing and downtown Chicago is going to be awesome. Yeah, yeah, and just like you said with the deep rumble of these next gen cars there so loud. I don't know if you've been to a track. If anybody's been to a track this year with these things, but they are so much louder than the last car. And I think this is really going to really kind of buzz that city and hopefully this becomes a big thing. I think it will of Chicago is for sure all in on this. And it sounds like the entire town itself is and I don't know if this happens without Michael Jordan joining the sport without NASCAR being as inclusive as they've been the last couple of years trying to kind of dip out on the ledge and be more inviting to more people. I don't know if this happens without that. Well, I mean, it was fitting that Bubba Wallace was there representing that team. Yeah, I mean, Michael Jordan, so many years in the Chicago with the bowls. This is a big connection with that town. And with him, so this is huge. There's a lot of layers to this, but this is an interesting announcement. We kind of saw it coming last year in the invitational series on iRacing. They ran this course. And immediately the rumor mill was, are we going to be running this at some point in the Cup Series? And then this year, the rumor started swirling and it became pretty obvious it was happening, but still to hear it actually officially announced it's kind of surreal. Yeah. Hey, before we get into the whole Pocono weekend this weekend, let's touch on silly season. The whole Tyler Reddick thing has kind of catapulted a bunch of things in motion. You got to of course Kyle Busch still not signed as of this recording. Saying this past weekend, he's definitely talking to other teams, so that's interesting. Eric Almirola considering coming back again after retiring this year. I don't know. And Eric Jones still kind of in limbo with petty there. So what are you hearing? What are we seeing? What do you think? Yeah, so the Kyle Busch thinks interesting. He's like you said he said he's been talking to teams finally. He's admitted that he's talking to other teams as he's kind of waiting out the Joe Gibbs Racing thing happening. That is huge. It is. He did say that while he was talking to other teams to kind of get a contingency plan in place. He still expects to be in the 18 car until he hears somebody else's announce to the car. So there's that, but Joe Gibbs Racing, on the other hand, and Toyota are now starting to make contingency plans themselves because they're just not able to sell sponsorship for Kyle for whatever reason. So if they can't get the sponsorship in place, it looks like we're going to see somebody else in the 18 cars. This is definitely something the longer this goes to keep an eye on because Djokovic was racing if they can find somebody decent with a sponsor and you've got Kyle Busch you can't get a sponsor for do you keep holding on hope the longer you go into the season or do you just kind of go with the for sure commodity knowing you can get the sponsorship sold with somebody else it's interesting but this is the only multi time NASCAR Cup Series champion that's currently active in the series and he might be moving rides. And so bizarre to think, I mean, you look at his stats, I mean, he's a Hall of Famer already. Just performance on the racetrack is unbelievable. Is his attitude and his whining as off the track is what's finally catching up with him? I mean, it looks like it might be and he's done some questionable things on social media the last few years as well. Which I'm sure doesn't play in the corporate America's hands either when they're kind of looking at things, but at the end of the day you've got one of the most talented guys that's ever driven a race car. And he wrote land somewhere. He will drive somewhere. It's just a question of if that will be with Gibbs. And if it's not with Gibbs, does Toyota make something happen where he still stays in the Toyota family, or is he going somewhere else? Because this could be a big swing for Richard Childress racing, who people already wondering, will they hang on with Tyler Redick for one more year, even though it's kind of a weird lame duck situation or will they force him out of that contract? Right. If a guy like Kyle Busch becomes available, you'd think they'd entertain that. But at the same time, Kyle Busch has been punched by Richard Childress before. So you don't expect that to be a thing either. So there's a lot of weird things at play here, and when you start looking at all the things that are available in the situation, I don't really know where this ends up. So the fact that we're talking about Kyle Busch, midway, and almost we're past midway in July and at this point, not being in the 18 car. That's kind of shocking. Yeah, totally. Totally. Well, we'll see how all this plays out in the coming weeks or months. But in the meantime, we've got to get out our virtual Nimitz stick and what this is. Longtime fans of the show know what this is. We measure the front stretch of Pocono Raceway based on how many Nimitz class aircraft carriers can fit there. So yes. It's something that every once in a while. Right, so a Nimitz stick is now a method of measurement and the answer is 3.42 Nimitz class aircraft carriers can fit on the front stretch. So let's get into Pocono. It's the tricky triangle. There's no fourth turn. They got solar off turn three. They're powering the whole place. It's pretty awesome. Track size, two and a half miles. Now is it a road course or is it an oval or a role or who knows? You make the decision

"2023, the NASCAR Cup Series will be coming to downtown Chicago and racing here. So I'm really excited. Certainly incredible, we're all very excited about it. Again, thank you all for being here. I think the media for coming out. And just want to say thank you to the city of Chicago. You have been instrumental in your support for this. We have mayor Lori Lightfoot here. She has been fantastic. Cara bachman was the sports commission. All the state leaders and city officials, we appreciate all of your support and helping us get to today. We know we've got a lot of work ahead of us, but we look forward to it. So this is the first Cup Series street course race carry. I won't say this is the first NASCAR street course race of the penty series over in Canada has been doing this for some time now. And the NASCAR west series, which is now the ark of west, I guess, it used to be the NASCAR Winston west series, went to become the KNN in west series. Whatever. They have also done street racing over the years as well. But this is the first time the Cup Series and this is huge. This is a whole different animal. And I think the timing of it is perfect because I think the next gen car is nimble enough to actually get around these street courses and put on a decent show. So I'm excited to see what we're going to see. Yeah, and also one thing that came up in the press conference is the 75th anniversary of NASCAR. So how perfect is it to put something so unique so different on the schedule and we have never seen anything like this. It's going to be awesome. Yeah, no, I don't think anyone knows what to expect. It's kind of been par for the course this year anyway. So it's perfect. And the sound. I mean, I can not wait to hear what these cars sound between the buildings. You know, we're used to Formula One. We're used to IndyCar doing stuff like this. They have that high pitched wine engine sound, but I mean, NASCAR's, I mean, are we going to shatter some windows? The other takeaway I take from this is that the city of Chicago wants this. The NASCAR is wanted by a huge city in America. This is huge. You get LA memorial coliseum with the clash. Now you've got a street course in Chicago. This schedule is changing by the year and it's changing drastically and NASCAR's taking big swings to reach new markets and I'm pretty excited about what this could hold. At the same time, I'm disappointed for road America, though, they had a lot of fans that have showed up the last two years of that race on the Cup Series schedule. And now it's off the schedule. So that's a bummer, but at the cost of what road America is, we could be seeing a huge new fan base for NASCAR. And this could be a new

"There, right? Yeah? Nope, still not what you're thinking. How about some street road course racing? Yeah. This is huge. I mean, loud rumbling stock cars going through the city that is windy. The windy city, get ready for the first ever NASCAR street race in the shadows of Lake Michigan and grant park. It's all gonna be featured on NBC as they invade downtown the weekend of July 1st and second of 2023. Let's hear from driver Bubba Wallace and NASCAR's Ben Kennedy. Yeah, well, obviously you guys know one of the majority one of our team has done a lot for this city. Michael Jordan obviously being under his banner being under his wing and knowing how much that he means to the Chicago area is super cool when I'm proud to carry that. And to our race team and in our race cars into the racetrack. And so for being here, like I said best. Like I said earlier, it's just the representation showing that NASCAR can survive in a market like this and we'll succeed in a market like this is very beneficial. And so just proud to be a part of it. Proud to be having my voice in my opinion and in the matter. And just making the most of it, the biggest thing that I was always asked for my dad growing up. When we were racing was, are you having fun? And this has fun written all over it. So we'll make the most of it. This is a monumental day in the history of our sport, NASCAR. As Marty mentioned, next year will be celebrating our 75th year anniversary in 75 years our sport has never had a street course. And I am excited and proud to announce to today that on July 2nd, 2023, the NASCAR Cup Series will be coming to downtown Chicago and racing here. So I'm really excited. Certainly incredible, we're all very excited about it. Again, thank you all for being here. I think the media for coming

It came up that i had done some music before. And they said you wanna play the opera. And i said shoot yes i wanna play. You can make. Let's forget the show. Let's just go to the opera and So it was just an opportunity to to go do something to go do something there and you guys know me. You've known me long enough. Somebody you throw an opportunity on the table. i'll go try it. I'm not gonna say that. I'll succeed at it but at least i'm going i'm going to give it a shot. So yeah it was. It was and i said it there. It was very humbling to to be backstage. And doug you took the tour you walk by case and there's there's patsy clines hat and there's you know hank seniors and i mean there's just so much history in the place and then get to actually play music. There is is really school. Your tv show. You're interviewing a lot of folks. Give give people a little preview of some of the people that you've already recorded segments with. It's a pretty didn't get lineup listened to very eclectic line-up i will say that so it. I didn't want it to be the low hanging. Fruit was race gas. Ok so and and honestly i'll be truthful. We started with bill junior because he lives here in charlotte. And i knew if we really screwed it up. We could go back and do it again. You know what i mean. That wasn't going to cost us anything so we did. I did dale junior. Mario andretti did with my dad. And the woman. My dad i. I hope you guys loved it. I had so much fun. We a couple of twist and To the there's three race guys. That did three sports guys Did herschel walker davis. Love the third and davis. Love had just been named to be captain of the president's team so That he was so pumped up we barbecue. Mostly i will say that. And then Replay replay or more say about ric flair man. What's been clear. I mean i did. Mario andretti and people want to know about ric flair. And then i did to music guys. That did darius rucker and since pit bull. I've gotten into two racing. I did a thing. Would pit bull. So it's a pretty eclectic group of people you're an eclectic kinda guy so that's very fitting but we're i wish you the best. Where can people watch it. how can they get. It is owned circle network And you just have to check your cable provider dish network or whatever Or if you have peacock streaming on peacock they just cut a deal with peacock. Stream there but So i'm excited at the junior episode premieres. July eighth I think eight o'clock or something like that right longing check your listings but It was a good episode to junior really opened up about some stuff. that's fantastic. I mean obviously when you talk about you just the celebrities. Everything that you're able to talk to. I know. I know we have an interview coming up next so i just want to ask one more question. You got to drive really cool cars. I'm not gonna ask you. Your favorite interview was but what was. What was your favorite car. You know what my favorite car. And and i don't mind saying right here because it's been my favorite car since i was ten years nine years old and saw one for the first time. My dad finally let me drive his nineteen seventy super bird And the cool part as we drove it up the franken larry's and had a hamburger. We drove it up highway to twenty just like we had headlights until lights and a licensed player and i told my dad. I said what we stopped. He said it'll just make it a better story. Don't worry that. "Syndrich will now go to the too and that keeps Many these job in the twenty one. Yeah let's see he's all in favor of this. Yeah i think everyone everyone kind of is happy and then ryan newman gets to go do whatever he wants to do. You can go to s rx. Yeah yeah no. I don't see a downside here Well i mean the only potential downside is that break laskey you know goes from a team. He won a championship with and has raised the vast majority of his career with to one that is a bit more uncertain and says performance is probably going to go down next year. But i don't even know how much i mean with this new car and everything and that's just if it's a new car then we're everyone's back to zero and you gotta figure too when you look at the. The big winners here has to be ford. He stays in a ford car. Yeah he doesn't go off somewhere else. Goes doesn't go back to chevy where he started with Something where now he is in that blue oval camp for the long term. I think manufacturer you like to keep that and then that that kind of you gotta figure if they shift a lot of their resources or rows. Which i don't think they've had in a while or at least Ahead as a attention for them because it's always been stewart haas than penske and then rouse and then to an extent you gotta figure rousers right there with front row motorsports in terms of how they get their attention from the manufacturer. But i think overall this is good for everybody involved It it gives kazlauskas kind of a foot in the door in terms of what it looks like to have ownership run your own team if he wants to revitalize his kids laskey racing decade or so down the line so i mean it. It's i think it's good for everyone. Especially if ryan newman's unsure if he wants to come back. Yeah and i agree. That four wins out here because not only they keep lasky but if brad coming into rally does something similar to what tony stewart did coming into Then it gets ford more competitive to more competitive cars on the grid and And that's something that row hasn't been really longtime is seriously competitive for race wins and for championships and And i mean we talked about it. When the initial rumors came out jack rushing getting a younger and he's a little worse for wear man. I mean he's devastated. Put away with a few times Sometimes literally and So to bring in a younger person to be involved in the management of the team and somebody who ran his own team in the truck series and they were successful You know this could be huge for ralph really big for ford and yeah for kazlauskas. You know maybe. He takes a minor step back and performance. Maybe doesn't next year but one way or the other. I think he'll come out on the better end of this In terms of his personal performance and what it leads to in terms of ownership and running rash Racing down the line and penske isn't really that her by because because they have austin syndrich. Yeah exactly and you look at fenway to. They probably want a racing guy in there as well wants Jack routes finally decided to step away. Yeah for sure and from that and we'll come back to the other story that You want to talk about in a second but from there. Let's talk about a kind of related story that we got confirmation. That jeff gordon is going to leave. Talks to run hendrick motorsports or prepare to run. Hendrick motorsports is going to be in this. The second in command next to rick hendrick. Same thing here you know. I mean just like brag. His laskey brings somebody younger with more race experience into a team that has in aging owner. It's the same exact situation. I mean the success level is different. Obviously right now. And it's super super important for hendrick motorsports because they are such a huge organization. Both you know for the sport financially that they have somebody who really understands what they're doing and how a team should be run running it and jeff. Gordon provides perfect opportunity. But unlike brad keselowski. He doesn't have that day to day operation ownership type of thing. Yes he's involved was involved in. The forty eight car is involved in the forty eight car. But rick hendrick was running the show so i think he needs time to ramp up and it makes no sense if this is going to be his future gig. It makes no sense for him to continue messing around in the in the broadcast booth. Bummer because i think he's good When there's so much at stake with hendrick motorsports and they can get him up to speed right now. When like we were mentioning earlier they have four incredibly young drivers who are all incredibly talented and capable of winning races and capable of winning championships. You start right now. You get those guys coming up through the system. Working with jeff gordon primarily and then the whole operation is now solidified for the next fifteen years. No problem. yeah. I mean you gotta get him out of the booth if this is the thing if this is the end goal anyway. Why not do it now. Why why. why wait. Why pussyfoot around it just get it done in the long scheming and like you said like he he did have some kind of hand in the forty eight but at the same time. It's not the same as running. All four teams right and nine to appeal sponsors here there and everywhere so i think it's a good move. I think now is just the time to get my joy out of the booth and just completely revamped xactly. Let's finish the job. Finish what we started everybody. Yeah exactly so adamant. There is available now gadhafi. It is going to be interesting to see what they do in the booth weather it. They add somebody with a boyer. Or whether it's just gonna be boyer or how that's all going to work. I think it's too bad booth Fine all things considered. I think that's perfectly fine. Especially when you re larry mac on remote to throw to. I think it's fine to have just boyer and someone else up. Their boy has the The ability to develop into like. Benny parsons type of person. Kind of look goofy. Funny you know. Load school as good insight. Yeah yeah still still still still relevant because he just came off the tracks so yeah You know like. I said i thought that that jeff did a good job but and and i think he helps because appeals to a wider audience. Outside of just you know the south. Because he doesn't had the accent. But i mean i can totally see. I mean it totally makes sense for him to do this. We also from kansas. So i think that are missouri so that was too early in the middle of nowhere yeah And then a. What was the other story. That i missed because i know something else. Ms tally gracing finally announced their program. Oh i thought put that down. No i guess. I didn't okay. Justin haley will be driving full time in the cup series on and they acquired to charters what how right so kelly will also have their expanding program which will have aj dinger running full-time And then he will have a part time nascar cup Venture as well does not say who they got the charters from interesting how they dissolved or how they how they happen but they now have The the good ole. Oh spire still tube. It's three charters to colleague. Wow well that's good. Yep so they have. So they'll have the two the two full-time deals yeah they'll have So spiral continue to have the number seven and and that may be the seventy seven just.

"Towards becca after everyone came back from the break they were running a pretty well to start with him in priests but then just kinda fell off his back into the middle position so a nice showing especially on a track. That's not a superspeedway track. And then daniel suarez man third top ten of the year. He finished seventh in this one but his he's brought his average finish down three spots in the past couple of races his average finish on the year is almost nineteen so it's almost four spots here's average finishing the past five races fifteen point two so he. They're the team is steadily improving. And i did not look need to look into standing here and see where he and bubba are with their new teams. All right so he now is actually ahead of bubba by sixteen points so track houses twenty first and twenty three eleven twenty second so both those teams trying to hang in there trying to get inside the top twenty right now. Yeah and i mean you look at what happens with With sores in just the competence of this team l. They've actually made very big waves in this and it's really good to see because again. They're a team. That wasn't supposed to do much. And they're you know they're getting into it now. They're getting on it and they're even think about second team for next year so there's a lot of good things building with justin markson and everybody over there so it's kind of. It's it's a nice thing to see overall now and you know like i said on the last episode of the one before that i kind of given up on the idea that daniel suarez could be successful in the cup series and then this team man i mean they. They're like to the grindstone. They're they're working hard. That's great to see Because you know that twenty. Three eleven is going to get better Steadily over time. And if they get better over time as well that the means like two new teams coming in really mean it and seeing some success as opposed to just renting their cars out like you know we see rick ware and spire and all those guys do and they'll get to another new team which you don't even have one here. Do i not the announcement for tomorrow. for next year. Oh oh well. We'll talk about that in a moment. Yeah but i also wanna get back just just end with dinosaur as you gotta wonder how much immensely he's like. Well this could be my last chance. I have to do something here. Or else i screwed for the rest of my career and i gotta go back to regional areas down south so i think that he has a motivation to prove to himself that he can run up here After being kind of you know kneecapped. I would have to say new captain hamstrung in previous places. Yeah yeah because he said some big time rides and And then got unceremoniously booted for you know younger driver a driver that brought better sponsorship with them so yeah no i agree with you. That there's probably a little extra motivation there if not to save his career in the cup series At least to prove to those other teams that yeah. I can still. I can still race you to give me more of a chance. And then christopher bell finished ninth obviously as a win this year but it was his first top ten in eighth ray. Eight races He had a fourth back in richmond. So finally getting background. And that's like the whole stewart. Haas thing man. I mean they. They just have not been on the ball this year. Maybe they're going to step up and moving to do the reverse of hendricken step up in the playoffs and had a tough time This entire weekend too. I mean kyle. Busch fell back. After he was up to the front he fell back. A little climbed up to eleven christabel didn't have a great day but he was able to climb up the ninth Mardi true had a terrible day and just couldn't get the car dial dialed in him. And brad kozlowski were complaining about. They just couldn't get any rewrote or rear grip on the car. It just kept sliding out of than these couldn't figure out the track whatsoever and that was all weekend too because they had the practice and the qualifying and through. Three days nashville. a baffled. Both of them so You know gibbs racing has to do a little bit of inner thinking right now. Because i mean they didn't have a car in the top ten or a outside of rebel that you and you don't expect that right back hamlin to be up there. Expect kyle busch kinda be peaking in the top ten true x. Up there too but none of them that's That's a pretty pretty rough about especially kyle busch since he's on Xfinity racists here. And i think a second ago i accidentally said stewart haas when i meant to say joe gibbs racing job and during the two. No no no i. I was looking at christopher belen. And for some reason thinking thinking stewart haas. They're thinking. Joe gibson sang stewart haas. Because they're both kind of in the same boat right now. I mean really In the standings. All right so speaking of joe gibbs racing being in that same boat a stewart haas denny hamlin still leads. The points remember was like a month or so ago he had like one hundred nine point lead in the regular season standings and was going to take home the bonus point even though he hasn't won a race yet down to ten because of how awesome carson has been over the past couple of races so that hundred plus point lead me. It's hard. it's hard to make up one hundred points on somebody in the cup series in this current you know stage points climate and and damned if carson isn't there now and at the is going is probably gonna pass any and be the regular season champion and in all honesty. He should if you win four races and nobody else has one more than two. You should be the regular season champion. It doesn't make sense if you're not s cargo as nascar or you know. There's there's another piece of news that you left out to about nascar to. Oh we'll we'll talk about that as well this so i call second William byron chase elliott enjoy. Lagana ran out the rest of the top five again. Proving the chase elliott's a penalty means nothing because he's still taking fourth in the points in the interesting part though is still down. At the bottom michael mcdowell hanging in there at sixteenth christopher bell because he had finish it national he moves up the fourteenth overall. And this is where. It's interesting. Because kurt busch right now is seventeenth right. He's eight points behind michael mcdowell but that doesn't make a damn difference. Because if he passes mcdowell when mcdowell has a win and immediately would push. Kurt busch back out of the playoffs again. So he's gotta catch. Chris butcher instead. Who is fifteenth twenty. Four points ahead of. it's completely doable. But that just illustrates how weird this system can be at times. Where you're kurt busch. And you're thinking i got to get in the top sixteen. I'll have to get any points. I can get eight point so michael. Mcdonald's forget michael mcdowell but it doesn't mean anything those eight points. The only thing that matters is getting twenty-five soon get past. You know the guy who's ahead of michael mcdowell. Exactly that's that's what you have to be there. That focus needs to be at that point but it does reinforce that. Hey this in. The playoffs is mostly about winning. Because for kurt and everybody below him really the only way to guarantee they're going to get in is to win the damn race now. Yup you gotta you gotta get it gotta be in a minute to win it to be in there. It is so. Let's let's move on to this car news And i wonder if anyone happening right now. Yeah i wanna get to To what's going on right now. while And then we'll talk about jeff gordon. So what are you all right. So according to adam stern rash. Fenway has told partners. And it has a done deal with brad kozlowski to become a driver and co owner starting in twenty twenty two per sources though They have held off on announcing indifference to Team penske not clue about the amount of steak that will be in it In terms of equity but it looks like if they're telling their partners. It's a done deal and we got ourselves a done deal at a probably one of the worst kept secrets in the garage. My gosh was broken. May yeah is it ever No so here we have it. So you gotta figure six.

Joe gibson brad kozlowski daniel suarez michael justin markson Chris joe gibbs michael mcdowell Fenway seventh ninth eight points Eight races fourteenth jeff gordon sixteen points twenty seventeenth Four points christopher bell

Looking Ahead After Kentucky Speedway

"Beli go to the all-star racist of course midweek. We're excited for that, but then on the next points race Texas in points. Were there a premium now? Kyle because Cole custer winning this race taking a playoff position only nine races to go before the cut-off yet you know we talked about it a couple years ago when Chris Butcher won at Pocono when you're outside the top twenty five or back in points far enough, and then all of a sudden you leapfrog into that top. Top Sixteen, and you don't just leapfrog into that top sixteen you leapfrog into the playoffs. You leapfrog all the way that's how simple it is with that win, so I think when we look at that that puts a lot of pressure on sixteen, Seventeen, eighteen, also on fifteenth fourteenth. Thirteenth twelve these guys. It tightens up it again I'm back to the musical chairs, analogy, the music just stop for somebody and that top fifteen and they got bumped out. They went into this race thinking. They were only a few points in or a few points now and now they're out completely. They've to figure out how to find their way back into it, so that is the amazing part, and that is the exciting part for me about watching these next eight or ten races leading up to that bump leading up to that playoff situation, because there's so many things so many strategies that go into it and you've always got to be looking behind you at a team that can jump. Jump in and win a race. Yeah, so yet. Pressure is mounting now so when this season started. What feels like two and a half years ago? It's hard to imagine that we're talking about just non-racist until we get to the play offs, so I think that because of everything that's been happening. I'm not sure how many people have even been paying attention to those playoff standings that much, but with coal customers win. That is open. Everyone's ass is open. The eyes of those people that are. Back to sixteenth Jimmy Johnson sitting in that sixteenth spa is the eyes of some rookies and some other teams that haven't won yet, but see that. Coq Gun win a race. That says that this is open to anybody and everybody could possibly do that, so the the pressure's GonNa. GonNa, amount here and we've. We've got racist coming up as some very difficult tracks, a coupla double header weekends that Never GonNa come along so many things happening that we can see a lot of shakeup in display off standings as we look at, it might not look anything like what we see right now, but cold customers proved to the world that is out there for the.

Kevin Harvick talks about every racer's dream

"Week's Pocono winner and last year's Indianapolis winner. Kevin Harvick talks about every racers dream for for me. Indianapolis is is is is a place for that I grew up as a kid. You know wanting to raise indy cars add so it's be able to go there and actually compete and win is fulfilling. Your childhood dreams so. Every time I go to indy look forward to driving in that tunnel, and and you know I. Think as as you look at this weekend. one of the parts that will actually miss his driving in that tunnel. All practices going or something is on the racetrack. Because there's there's really nothing more special to me than than in being able to you know. Think back to the things that you did as. As a kid and wanting to to go there and rates one day, and so winning last year was was really special, and you know having hyper there, and my my whole family there, and having those pictures, or are you know one of the one of the coolest things that that all have when when my racing career is over so India's a is a special place for me and I enjoy. Coming back each year to to show up and company, how his strategy playing a role without practice or qualifying for the most part we, we've talked about it before the race enduring the race, I typically just let them handle it just because they have way more information, but in from the driver standpoint. It's it's a little bit more stressful because you aren't really around the cars all the time that you're racing and you know that if you give up a little bit here to give up a little bit air, you don't know how much they give free traffic or Coming back through the field or what strategy there on so from driver's standpoint, it's a little more stressful and you know you have to push every lap in order to make sure you get the most out to give up the least amount of time, so it's just A. It's a different style race, which is good, right you, you know you have all these different elements play in different styles of race tracks said that you know the same style and element that play and all the other racetracks so. It's actually more stressful in my opinion. Because you yarn, you can't judge it off a car that is around you at somewhere else on the racetrack, but it all cycles
