Some Players Aren't Convinced by US Soccer's 'Identical' Men's and Women's Contracts

"So. This story arose on tuesday afternoon. That us soccer has offered identical contracts to both the us men and women On the surface you would look at that and say oh well the. Us would have been asking for equal pay and it appears as though they have achieved that they do not see it that way. No they don't they issued a tweet from their. Us national team he eh. So players association us pr stunts and bargaining through. The media will not bring us any closer to a fair agreement. In contrast we're committed to bargaining in good faith to achieve equal pay and the safest working conditions. Possible the proposal. That usf made recently recently to us does neither. Now here's where we have a problem. what i would say is knowledge vacuum. I don't know what was in that proposal. I don't know the ins and outs of the pause. meg From the athletic. Who just great on this she tweets. Us soccer just issued a statement on the us women's national team on us mnt cba's it states that usf has offered identical contract proposals today proposing single cbs structure with revenue sharing usf believes best way to achieve these important goals is by the us women's national team players association on the us ns tpa negotiating together. That's the men's association however this quote marks this is from us soccer if the players association's choose to continue to negotiate separately as they have to date us. Soccer will invite the us women's national team to sit in on the negotiations with the us ns and vice versa in the interest of full transparency

It was above what Castille was my my head coach, which was the great coach, Oklahoma gym swimming with my, um with my position, coach and Remember, but what was coming into the office the meeting when I was a look it and said Anderson doesn't block he just run and check on. That's all I needed to hear. So that sound a lot like Moose statement. I wouldn't Held at the University of Miami. Hey, was my coach for two years, and that's kind of what he had me doing, but he may be blocked up. Yeah, and you could do it all that Obviously you went on to play for Coach Parcells and Bill Belichick was on that staff. And you know you're you're most known. I think for your great performance and Super Bowl 25 21 carries for one or two on the touchdown. But I want to go back because we are in the Bay Area, obviously, and we are the flagship of the 40 Niners to the game the week before and the NFC Championship game and the game plan that that Bella check had To stay in the nickel the whole game and that obviously which did the K gone and you're a big part of that. Just taking the air out of the ball and running it down their throats and playing keep away But just tell me about when you look at the game plans that you you're a big part of And the defense executed tiptoe win the championship game at Candlestick over the 40 Niners and then come back two weeks later and do what you did to Buffalo is, you know, two of the greatest offenses and you are a big part of that. So just tell me about those the championship Sunday Win and Super Sunday, Okay? Well, you know, way have played 40 minutes early that year, and we kind of had an idea who we're playing again, saying I'm not mistaken. I don't think there was any touchdown school in the game. At least I know we didn't have into three Monday night game 7 to 3. And then the second. I think we school field goals that whole game and you know, and I think the highlight of that game was when Gary Riesen did that fake punt. I think that changed the game and put us in a position to possibly win it. And then having Roger Craig, one of the finest running back you've got planned for you guys. You know how to hook up where Eric. I'll hit him in the ball came loose and large, was able to recover it and gave us a chance to keep the winning field goal. But it was a tough battle. Man. We had always played each other tough. We knew each other. That was a mutual respect between the two teams is Forrest Talent level. We always equal if you look at, uh every position had Individual that can make plays, even though you have more name players on your team, with better and bigger resume that our offensive players had, but But we just played in the team. And when we got lucky, you guys we're going for a three peat, which had never been done before, And it was. It was history to be great. Auggie Anderson is joining a Super Bowl week continues here on the sports leader. So you're trading for the ST Louis Cardinals middle of the 86 season in the state with the Giants through 92. So it was obviously, as you talked about those battles with the 40 Niners or some great NFC teams. The Chicago Bears. What was it like just battling with all those the Redskins those historic teams? In the regular season in the playoffs. Yeah, well, you know, the regular season is one type of intensity. And as you get into the playoff it changes in each game of the playoffs brings a different type of intensity level. That concentration has to be second in on because you want to go home, so you have to really concentrate and focus and after We'll decide that that night life are that extra curricular activity that would normally go on during the regular season, and it was his business a zone Lee where you had to just concentrate and focus on your job, and And we're about part and everything else after everything's said and done. Yeah, We don't have to worry about that this year. That usually is a concern, but we're in the middle of a pandemic, so I don't think the guys he's Kansas City's flight in the night before the game. J. But s so go ahead and tell me about Super Bowl 25. That was right after The first Iraq war. Whitney Houston had a thrilling national anthem and that's one of the greatest Super Bowls in history came down to a field goal. But again, your your game plan was so well executed. Coach Bela check and silencing the K gun and you running the ball. So what do you remember about that First Super Bowl champion when it was Bill's and Giants back and Super Bowl 25, Where do you have that Super Bowl M v P trophy? Down in my man cave for sure. But what was unique about the two game plans. I'm gonna give you the defensive game plan, and then I'm taking off. There's a game playing different game plan was that a gun was by far the highest Most opponents office you can face so I was like that miles back in the day running Shoot, man. I'll say this. Miles Davis Shelby, you gambit back then with Kelly. Yeah, the USFL. Yeah. Even make that same type of setup and you notice under that system, they don't run the ball, the floating ball. So Della Chick The last we were blessed. We're gonna rush. We're gonna pair rushed three. We're gonna drop nine. Wow. So that, um Protect against the past and make every throw. He makes. Make it underneath. And then we just go knock the heck out of receivers that we first implemented that philosophy Banks and T and little martial air. Kyle would pepper There was not feeling that because you're saying let them run and thermostat rough over 200 yards, but You can't beat us by running killer can't be this with his arm. So they had to buy into that philosophy. I did. Then you take the slip of that, then, uh, there for ourselves and my position. Coach Ray Handley and an office coordinator. Um Run Erhard to listen. This is what we want to do..

"The Times and Creating solutions for our game for the time. I also think from a technology standpoint, in viewership standpoint, our partnership with Facebook And bringing the virtual reality experience to fans. You know, one of the things that we're able to do in the bubble, and it will be able to do this season. With fewer fans in the building is create different camera angles, different experiences. The rail can gave you that courtside seat experience, and that was a partnership. Voice with Facebook and Oculus. And so those are the same the same way that we have this partnership with the Players Association. We also have the great partnerships with these corporate partners and marking partners, and we generally go to them and say, Hey, here's an issue that we're trying toe. So can you help us solve it? And and those air? How I think the best ideas those were the best ideas come from, well, clearly a lot of the attention this summer ahead of the restart and during the research in the bubble was around Social justice. Let's listen A bit to what your boss Adam Silver had to say about player empowerment. Players know in the N B. A community knows there's there's a long history in this league. Of fighting for social justice for racial equality. And it seemed appropriate so it seemed appropriate and it clearly I think it's appropriate for us to talk about the fact and all sort of echo something that Lindsey said earlier. It is indisputable that player empowerment is more welcomed. It feels like In the NBA than it is in other leagues. There's a comfort level there that exists. Tell us about that aspect, especially in the bubble because there were some Tense moments. You know, the Milwaukee Bucks and the rest of the teams essentially walking off the court, not essentially walking off the court negotiations about coming back. Help us understand what that was, like Mark. Yeah, well, you know, they didn't walk off the court. They never came out. They never came out the port for the game. Exactly. And you know, and I have to tell you again, the relationship that we have had With the Players Association and the players during that time was so helpful we when we went into the bubble we, collectively with the Players Association, and our board of Governors agree that one of the primary Functions of the bubble was one keeping everybody healthy and safe, but also to ensure that the conversation would keep going on the fight for social justice and racial equality. And on those conversations continued every single day throughout the bubble and following the walkies decision not to play. We had very candid and productive conversations with our players with our coaches. And with our team governors. How about how the further cold our collective efforts and actions? In support of social justice and racial quality. And so coming out of that Those serious of conversations a day after with Milwaukee, Bucks decided not to come out is we established this Social Justice coalition and we agreed that we agreed to establish the Social Justice coalition that would be focused on increasing access to voting promoting civic engagement. Advocating for meaningful police and criminal justice reform. And so we wanted to Convert that feeling that our players in our coaches in the league had into action. There's no question you guys have been leaders in in in in so many different areas that we've discussed during this conversation right here. My final question to you is heavier, built in Dates and the schedule should some players a number of players test positive and they can't feel the team that they could make up. The game like baseball did on like footballs have to do on Tuesday and Wednesday night games. Yeah, thank you. For that question, Mike..

"Club medical staff all of our medical committees certainly our partners at the NFL Players Association and their medical staff as well as all of our research partners in engineers at email just people that help was basically touching and and and not helping to execute all the things that affect health and safety of players throughout the week when you start to look at the NFL's plan coming up this fall and I know it feels like each week a lot happens if we look back where we were three months ago who knew we would be where we are right now and where we're going to be in two or three months so is it your job to sort of look down the road or do you have to stay in the moment of trying to adapt to whatever we're seeing on a daily basis with this virus well I think there's some of both Janet and you made a great point which I've been telling people I I say it feels like about five years since we all started quarantining and sheltering in place it's actually been probably about a hundred days and that's the same time there we have to announce at the start of our season so you think about how much we've learned how much more awareness we have the new technologies that are emerging respect all that's going to continue to put us in a different place so I think what we have to do is make the best decisions we can't eat straight the knowledge in hand but also try to prepare it and remain what the phrase happens take everybody what's going to happen because in this situation where we're going to be adapting also the coronavirus not ours all right so it's it's it's crucially important that we have that mindset of flexibility adaptability and using that new knowledge along the way what's your biggest concern this football season I think like everyone we're dealing with a novel virus that no one can really predict and so I think that it's impossible to know which direction it's going to take this and and and I think that's true not just for the NFL but for the country in the world so I think that's why we stayed very regular contact with public authorities see see what the White House task force with with public health authorities in each state and each of our club markets we just have to work in a very collective fashion as we do what's best for not only just yet available to the public at large are you one hundred percent confident we're playing football this fall you know I don't think any of us can be a hundred percent coverage of of anything with regard to this virus I would say that I'm very optimistic that we're we're tracking we're moving in that direction but I think throughout this day and we said look we have to be cognizant of what's happening a public health standpoint the NFL's nine is going to put our head down as they were charging or no matter what I think you saw that with our draft right you know there are a lot of people that said what we couldn't or shouldn't do the draft but we said look we've we've got these sort of things we'd like to do how can we do that and do a concert with what the current public health recommendations are and I think we wind up with a with a really unique and special event that also raised a whole lot of money for very needed relief effort so that's the same approach we've got it we gotta take here we've got to take really careful look at and work very cleverly get with your service station there by public health authorities and make the best and safest decision all of our stakeholders are players coaches fans everybody that's in the NFL family what do you think of the NBA plan you don't get a very regular contact with chief medical officer of the NBA all sports leagues we we share with each other regularly are learning we're all confronting the exact same issues and I think that notionally we all have the same basic approach to that they're obviously since subtle nuances and differences from one state to another just based on operational issues but I think that again the NBA's try to do just what we've done which is be very thoughtful to to really be cautious so it's a work in a stepwise fashion to keep everybody safe as possible and and again we're all learning from each other in this we talk not only to each other in North America we talk to sports leagues around the world the Bundes Liga the Australian football league we're all trying to share collaborate and learn from each other and we keep talking about well not me but the the experts keep talking about the second wave and I said you know let me know when the first wave ends because but like we don't we don't know this dock with when does the first wave end and then that second wave if it is coming back so how do you prepare for that yeah I think you're exactly right you know there's a saying in the medical community that all models are wrong some are actually useful and I think that's true here you know that it's really hard to predict what's going to happen again I think we just have to be flexible and adaptable we have to make the best decisions we can with the knowledge enhance any and as you said that that that's very hard to predict and it's also varies from region to region you know what's happening in one part of the country may be very different from the other part of the country so I think as I said we we want to make sure we were hand in glove with our players association with public health authorities to make the best decisions whatever the situation on the ground maybe at that time you had Ezekiel Elliott some other cowboys some of the Texans who tested positive if this was the week of a game what would be protocol van with Zeke Elliott and some of these other players of now what what does safeguards would be in place here and how long would they be out so I think obviously I can't comment specifically on any case but but in general what are protocols are moving towards this we want to identify anyone who's newly infected at the earliest possible moment and get them isolated from the rest of the team environment and again this isn't just about players coaches athletic trainers strength and conditioning staff anybody in what we're calling that CVR system we were identified at the earliest phase inspection remove them from the rest of the environment get in the appropriate treatment and then watching monitor that recovery start protocol will detail exactly what we do each step of that it's also really important we cleared them appropriately to make sure they're not affected when they come back indiscreet things like some of the cardiac complications that can happen after code section so we'll have all that detailed out again we're working hand in glove with the Players Association on what that protocol looks like what would be the minimum that somebody would have to sit out if they tested positive well again I think that's that's based upon public health guidelines in in their certain guidelines depending on what you have symptoms when the last time your symptoms or what your test status yes it's hard to give you an exact number but I mean I think you're looking at someone missing at least a couple weeks time after a positive test it's not going to be test positive one day your back three days later it's going to be a time interval and there again our knowledge on that may continue to evolve a little bit but but I'd say at a minimum it's going to be a couple weeks time what will face mask look like this this is us season will they be any alterations to them.

"Do I believe him I actually dealt now I think the question that needs to be straightened out is are you going to play baseball without an agreement from the Players Association or are you just going to roll back on what was discussed in March a shortened season he's dismissive of the idea that it would be forty eight games but it obviously would be much shorter than what the players proposed when eighty nine games I don't think we would see anywhere close to seventy or eighty games if we're talking about the commissioner and the owners just laying down all boy wow man for might be moving in a position where they have a set timetable and what they should do if they're smart put a deadline on this because listen both sides going to detest each other no matter what even if they come to an agreement you think life is going to be some like BYOD good peace goodwill amongst the players association the owners and its commissioner no chance so if the commissioner was smaller his re they'll next Friday's you'd better this is what it's going to be this is how it's going to shake out this is how we're going to go about things can you find that common ground I mean baseball and the commissioner said today they got another proposal I mean I'm sick and tired and his proposals I I got news for from the Players Association from the owners it feels like there's a new proposal each and every day and no real progress and if there was something else to take out of rob Manfred comments he still brought up the idea that he is hopeful at the players will back off D. hundred percent pro rated salaries that we have talked about ad nauseam I got news for effort does he have any sense of a cool has he paid attention at all to the way this all has shook out my answer would be clearly not because what do you hear constantly from the Players Association from individual players from anybody who has been covering these negotiations top to bottom that there's no way in the world the players are backing off one hundred percent pro rated salaries I mean how many times they need set they said it over and over and over again it be nice if the owners and the commissioner I should realize that because then maybe would actually see some good faith and you actually see some progress and not this staring contest that we've been deal with math like the last six weeks that is exhausting every which way the good news to come out of his comments commissioner thinks they'll be baseball on sat I'm happy about that now I'd like to see some form of compromise between both sides where you'll have everybody in all woe is me down and out miserable as they get ready for the season owners players people like B. kids with everything that's going on right now that is the last thing Major League Baseball needs this idea that it's like one satisfying in many ways that they're coming back to play they are needed my town on some progress tomorrow next day day after that now highly unlikely but progress or not lows like the show will be going on in twenty twenty the question is when how the specifics stay tuned now one thing I wanted to get through before we get the calls and I saw the gray Mike for care of the New York Post with about this and it's a fascinating fascinating subject because actually all good amount of guys prominent players who have been a port on the Yankee organization and have been a part of the met organization and I don't know what prompted Mike to take to Twitter with this I don't know if it was a suggestion from one of his followers I don't know if it was something that he just came up with as he was bored as all of us have been on me today was one of those days for me I mean I felt like I was in the form of like ten hours I have a run which was good but it was one of those days where I was also a sister crazy I watched a show I did day said that dad I'm like geez once Showtime already what is the time to get the ball rolling so we all had those days these last few months that is absolutely true well for whatever the reason he try to go through who was in both uniforms now because they're big guys have been great members of the York Mets great members of the New York Yankees but they've only done it may be in one uniform when they were great one uniform and they were solid in all the uniforms or not any good in all the uniforms and I think Mike nailed it and I would agree with him a thousand percent if you were to look at guys you played for the New York Yankees guys who played for the New York Mets and if you're going to combine both uniforms that who is the best to wear both uniforms I think it's pretty easy answer for me it's hands down.

"I am now yes okay I'm on a delay don't forget sorry about that when segments and I'm not even involved not a thirty second delay double what do you think are the plays the Asian is the Players Association playing with fire here I mean they are to the extent that they're gonna be the bad guys because players are always the bad guys but the grief here is just as much on the older side as there is if not more because the owners already have they already got one concession players are already getting paid based on the number of games played they've already agreed to give a salary back now so this is the second is a return by owners to take more money back it's true but baseball players would only be playing half of the season right with the order but there but there's their salary this year is already based on the number of games are going to play so that's already they've already given that they've already done that this is a you're saying this moving the goal posts again so you're saying that the players association has agreed to the pro rated portion of their salary based on the total games played that if they've only yeah they're only gonna play eighty two games that they would only make half their money anyway and now the owners are saying but we need to take less than that because we don't have the revenue that we thought we were gonna have correct in March memory March they made that that large agreement about service time about salaries all this stuff was was wrapped up in there now things have changed since March and maybe things are more dire maybe whatever projections the owners were we're looking at aren't we're not as bad as they actually are now in reality what the players have already given something to owners the owners now want more and by the way the owners also too we're not giving away these actual playoff games that were up there in this proposal for free they're going to get money from TV people to put those games on TV so there's going to be money here now when I haven't seen is the economics of this fifty fifty split however breaks down in terms of actual dollars moving around but the idea that the players are pushing back and bill are protecting every single dollar old is not true they've already given up their full salaries for this year none of them are making what their support what they would have made over a four hundred and sixty two game schedule which I think should have you have to meet that well for logic because they're not playing those games so that's that that's the very least they could probably give back is okay we're not gonna play half the season we should make a full a full check here what right but again and and this is where I think maybe I have more patience or sympathy or understanding for these battles and I know how terrible looks PR wise but you also when you're a union and you've bargained and you've agreed on things you also have to stay true to those agreements which is why they're also now battling the idea of this revenue split because they see it as a salary cap because in essence it is because it's a limiting what they can make and baseball is the only sport without a true salary anything resembling a salary caps even for one year this would be a major concession by them and once they do it once and then the doors open for the owners down the road to go Hey we already did it once guys let's keep this in here let's do it again so I I I understand the fight at some point they have to decide between the PR battle and staying true to their agreement everything that's on paper and that's a tough decision to make but I I'm I'm not immediately opposed to damn fighting this because to me they kind of have the responsibility to the union to the CBA to do so well that's fair and there's validity to that argument and to the players argument as well if we get to a point where baseball doesn't come back to this year and this is the doomsday scenario but if baseball doesn't come back because the players can't agree to the finances of it it is going to be another death knell to baseball because I mean could you imagine the optics of the NBA playoffs come back Stanley Cup playoffs come back NASCAR's back golf is back but baseball couldn't figure out the revenue and so baseball went on strike again in the middle of the pandemic I mean that would really that would end up being the worst possible end game for a sport that's already been pushed to the margins by a lot of people in the in the US of course but the issue is then who is to blame for that because when you presented as the players won't agree the assumption is the owners are doing something legitimate and asking for something fair and not being greedy themselves when in reality what they could be doing is making sure that they don't lose more money and they've already I mean no matter what to the players get screwed this because whether they win this fight now there's going to be less money down the road and that less and then less money will go to free agents and go to all different parts I mean they board the baseball's already crushed the draft for at least the next couple years still it's what you're also doing here is kind of splitting hairs as to when I'm going to lose money am I gonna lose money now we're gonna lose money in twenty twenty one twenty twenty two because we don't give if there's not relief now then owners because they have less money are gonna spend less on us down in the future so the owners here in the NSW frustrates me like the owners are going to win in that is their bottom line is going to be protected and the players will lose both financially and in optics as players always lose owners never ever lose when it comes to lock out stoppages strikes it always looks like the players can't agree to things and that's a crappy place to be in for the players who sometimes maybe fighting the good fight because you have hundreds sometimes thousands of players have to agree on something that are never always going to be a consensus you only have thirty what are you gonna get the same board eight five five two one two for CBS or on Twitter DA on CBS we take out our trash is next D. "Of in tourism dollars the national college Players Association a nonprofit group that advocates on behalf of college athletes said in a statement on Saturday that quote there should be a serious discussion about holding competitions without an audience present quote the NC double a which oversees college sports isn't doing enough to protect young athletes from the disease the group at a bus stop right there anybody's sniffing any fake news yet I mean you're talking about what is that is that basically the players union yes the Players Association okay is fake news to me already yeah I don't I because you're sick you are making people believe the college basketball players like we don't want to play in front of people we want to play to empty now the arenas I was gonna ask do they have one person on the record saying yeah I don't want somebody cheering me on no in the NC double a tournament they don't as a matter of fact this this statement from the Players Association said there should be a serious discussion about holding competitions without an audience present the first sentence says players the United states want to hold this year's March madness tournament in empty stadiums due to their coronavirus that's not true it's freaking fake news so tired of this and then it goes on with the NC double a talking about steps that they take to get ready for these tournaments then the next paragraph public health officials haven't said that people should avoid attending mass gatherings like sporting events but the U. S. centers for disease control prevention have are offered guidance on ways to curb the disease those include keeping hand sanitizer sinks with running water and soap on hand at large public venues as well as picking a space away from the general public to isolate someone who might exhibit symptoms and then it goes into let's see the next I know how many paragraphs about how much money it brings an and what cities are gonna be hosting tournament games LA New York City Cleveland St Louis ten other cities Players Association also said they should also make public which actions will be taken and when like what are you going to do about them what are you talking about what your hands have the stuff on hand what do you want them to do I don't I really don't know and again public health officials haven't said people should avoid attending mass gatherings like sporting events and this statement from the Players Association said there should be discussion about holding competitions no where have players said we want to play in front of empty stadiums now I feel like I'm losing my mind because I'm the only one irritated by this I mean no it's just it's part of a machine right you have to make people afraid of corona virus so it's gonna it's like Dick pound coming out last week in Salem galley every time Dick pound thank you with the IOC surgery may have to cancel the Olympics they're not going to cancel the Olympics for corona virus come on I know they're not gonna have I I could see attendance going down for March madness just because of the fear out there but I mean they're not gonna play to an empty arena no the thing is most people don't read these exhausting stories that are you know seventeen paragraphs they can hang through a little bit and they see the first couple paragraphs and you're left thinking man these players don't play in front of anybody that's open this is what you're telling you about it you have the thought the I would think get over it my gosh it's not that big a deal garden play but the players never said that right now you're saying it more they're making it sound like the players of the ones pushing back on this versus the other way around no one ever said it it's just a flat out frigging Linus got it okay mom let's what irritates me okay no you can't look the basketball's either by the way they will not be in locker rooms either because of the threat of staph infections thank you mmhm K. Mendis why everyone's freaking out because a crap like that and then what happened somebody gets old you year they might be plain front empty arenas March madness white man this must be crazy all right let's get to the fake meat David has the story about fake meat impossible foods you know they become really popular because well Burger King took them on that's a big client but they're having to slash the wholesale prices by fifteen percent now because just too expensive for people to buy it is not that good it's almost like people maybe tried it a couple of times and then that's about it the novelty wears off so it's getting cheaper because people aren't buying it yes we got that going for you it's more affordable yeah I've had a few people so you know it's not bad but it's not like real meat no it's not could you had it you know exactly how I like it but not when I want to burn okay election projection coming up you'll hear Bloomberg's bit and also part of what Bernie had to say today fighting back against.

"You know his Players Association it is absurd well that's that's the real key point here Scott is that the players of all the pointed fingers rob Manfred but nobody is taking any game with their own unique not publicly privately I I do believe that there been conversations when the union leadership goes three with these teams they've had these issues it is certainly an issue within the ranks but they've taken all the public shots at rob Manfred went back to their union protects the same players that are cheating against them it's simply the way it is but as far as what you're talking about you'll go back in your Zach Britton also said what is wrong with the players do wrong but from a legal standpoint the memos were sent to the general managers it can be a player can tell you know they never came down and told us specifically this was as the players know they're doing something wrong they absolutely did but from a letter of the law as far as meeting out punishment that memo but does not necessarily get handed down to the players and the obligation the obligation to punish them the the ability to reasonably punish them isn't there because it's not written into the agreement I don't just want one response I don't think that's the case it's like saying well you know I I I I I bludgeon my wife but I I didn't know that it was illegal I think the you know they they they I'm not that's that is not that is not a reasonable comparison and I.

"The level that you need so I would like to see what happens this could be a major problem with the Major League Baseball Players Association they may have told Sheila you I'm sorry Dave told Manford you start messing with this in player suspensions and we're going to have a major problem yada yada yada because the number one goal for any organization any business is to have peace with its labor the Major League Baseball Players Association I think is the most powerful union in America right now they never lose they'd never loose they don't lose an arbitration they don't lose in mediation they don't lose when the players go on strike or there's a lock out they always win in the bank and in the court of public opinion so this may have a lot to do with the Major League Baseball Players Association but I don't see how the twenty twenty season and start when you have all of this laid out and you have a team that has been caught saying that there are other teams eight other teams are doing this and just what baseball go on with only three guys three managers and a general manager losing their jobs it's incomprehensible we'll talk more about that in the eleven o'clock hour with our baseball guy Dave Laura up next he's headed to the rock and roll hall of fame he is Michael McDonald of the Doobie brothers and he is going to carve out some time right here on the show this Sunday on seven hundred W. L. W. traffic and weather news radio seven.
