"Pre The word with David Platt is a resource from radical dot proverbs chapter eight versus ten and eleven take my instruction instead of silver and knowledge rather than choice gold for wisdom is better the jewels and all that you may desire cannot compare with her. How do you see the value? Oh you of wisdom here God is saying in his word as clearly as can be actually beautifully an poetically and powerfully. That wisdom is better than silver wisdom is choicer than gold that it's more valuable than jewels. You can Dr Desire in this world. And God's says all of them cannot compare with wisdom wisdom is better than all of the riches of this world so if that's the case then let's seek wisdom in his word let's pray for wisdom from God let's ask it continually for wisdom like we work for money. #607 God's Word on Display (Deuteronomy 6:69)

"Pre the word with David Platt is a resource from radical dot net. Deuteronomy chapter six versus six through nine. In these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and so talk of them when you sit in your house when you walk by the way when you lie down when you rise. You still bind them as a sign on your hand. They shall be as frontlines between your eyes you shall write them on the door post of your house and on your gates. Oh, get the picture here when God speaks to his people he intends his word not just to be hidden in their hearts like yes that but he intends his word to be put on public display in their lives to saturate their conversations at home as as we walk. In the world that the word of God would constantly be on our lips talk about this. When you sit in your house when you walk by the way when you lie down when you're is. In other words, like all the time. Either you're lying down a rising in your house or on the way wherever you're buying them. As a sign in your hand as frontlines between your is like, it's always there doorpost of your house and your gates his word is intended to saturate our lives. So I I just want to encourage you as you think about the role of God's word in your life. Don't let it be just merely a private affair where God's word is hidden in your heart. Where you read it or you pray like talk about it like if you're listening to this with others than talk about this word with those. You're listening to if you're listening to this by yourself talk about this word with other people during the day today. Like look for opportunities whenever you hear. God's word. Don't just let it stop with you. Let it spread through. You. Look for opportunities to talk about the word all the time all the time. With your spouse with your kids with your friends with your neighbors with your co workers, even in the church in the world. But those who don't know Christ. They might know the word of God. And the goodness of God expressed in his word like just a quick phrase like it was reading the bible the other day. And it said this this was so helpful for me like that's such a testimony to the goodness of God. Oh god. Please help us to saturate. Our public lives just our lives before each other with your word may indeed be front and center in our conversations in the dialogue. We have in the words we say God, please don't let us hide this word in our heart. And then keep it there. Learn help us to hide this word in our heart and then proclaim it then share it with others. So put your word on our heart. And then help us to teach your word talk about your word. All the time. In Jesus name. We pray. Amen.

#739 A Pretty Simple Proverb (Proverbs 28:27)

"Pre the word with david. Platt is a resource from radical dot proverbs chapter twenty eight verse twenty seven whoever gives to to the poor will not want but he hides his eyes will get many a curse a pretty simple proverb yet. We are constantly tempted not to live according to it particularly in a materialistic world whoever gives to to the poor will not want. I love that phrase in our giving. We won't want like the exact opposite of what materialism says. Materialism says we want more. We want better. We want nicer. We want bigger so get get get it but what does getting lead to wanting more and getting more leads to wanting more getting bigger leads to wanting bigger like our tastes can never be satisfied when you're tasting of the material things of this world they create a longing for more and more and more that never leaves us satisfied never leaves us content the opposite though is what proverbs twenty hey twenty-seven addressing who gives to the poor will not want like we'll be free from this quest for more and more and more and more instead in giving we will find contentment and giving we will find joy in giving we will find satisfaction for our souls in giving to the poor we will find our joy our good whoever gives to the poor will not want but he hides his eyes is we'll get many a curse. He who hides his eyes to the poor who turns a deaf ear and a blind eye hi to the poor get many occurs. This is so dangerous isn't it. I get as possible especially for those who are not poor for those who have the basic daily necessities of life and not just assessing in many cases most everything we could want and when we have these things if we're not careful foil we can turn a deaf ear inn blind eye to the poor we can go on with our lives business as usual enjoying the things that we need in the things that we want and never giving second thought to those who don't have those things those who who are impoverished but when we hide our is in this way even implicitly almost unknown li it leads to curse so open your eyes the bible says and give to the poor you will find joy. You will find good in giving for the good of others. Oh god please help me. Please help us to give to the poor as you would have us or help us to give generously cheerfully sakr officially willingly and light of urgent need in people's lives right around us and far from us we pray that you would cause generosity and blessing to bound to the poor through our lives through our families through our churches. God please may be so don't let us get caught up in this this constant quest for more and more and more in this materialistic world and in the process to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to those those in need around us god. Please please please help us to he'd proverbs twenty eight twenty seven to give to the poor and to find satisfaction in this not to hide our eyes and fine curse in in jesus name. #767 Dwelling Secure in God (Proverbs 1:3233)

"Pre The word with David Platt is a resource from radical dot proverbs chapter one versus thirty two and thirty three for the simple are killed by their turning away and the complacency of fools destroys them but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and we'll be at ease without dread of disaster these these verses punctuate a whole section in proverbs chapter one on those who turn away from wisdom are those this who don't seek out wisdom those who basically get caught up with the foolishness of this world with turning from the wisdom of God God to the ways of this world. You've got a picture all throughout proverbs one of being enticed into sin into foolishness by the world which inevitably happens to all of us like we are all prone to sin. We are prone to foolishness snus left on our own apart from God's spirit and God's word. We run towards sin or we slide I towards sin we must then be active in pursuing God's Word God's wisdom learning God's ways and that's the picture here that complacency of fools destroys them. Those who don't actively look for wisdom. Don't actively listen to wisdom. That's the whole picture in verse thirty three. Whoever listens to me is wisdom will dwell secure will be at ease without dread of disaster that picture of listening of seeking wisdom of intentionally this is not passive but actively looking for wisdom seeking out wisdom listening to them that leads to security and ease avoiding disaster the opposite though happens and when we don't seek wisdom when we slide into complacency when we turn towards foolishness which is are bent apart from God's grace and God's spirit and God's Word so proverbs chapter one is basically shouting shouting to us in a gracious merciful way seek wisdom seek wisdom. I actively actively ask for wisdom actively be in God's word actively seek God's ways and you will dwell secure so God help us. We pray got. I think I am one foolish decision away from racking so much in my life and so I think about God. I don't even want to think about it but I'm one one foolish decision away from just bringing disaster upon myself upon others and every single person is listening to this right now duds the case God. We need your grace. We need your help. We we need your wisdom. We need your word. We need to walk. According to your ways. All your ways are good. All your wisdom system is right so we come to you and we ask you for wisdom and we pray you give us wisdom in every decision we make as we face temptation that we would not slide slide into foolishness. God please help us to walk in wisdom today in everything we think desire say say do make us wise. We pray helped me to be wise. ELP US to be wise and in the wisdom that you promised promised to give us. It's not like you're holding back from us. You give it generously when we ask so we asked for wisdom and re pray that as a result Zolt of your answering this prayer we will dwell secure and be at ease in you in Jesus Jesus name. We pray Amen.

#904 Waiting in Dependence on Your Word (Psalm 130:56)

"Pre The word with David Platt is AVI source from radical dot net psalm one thirty versus five and six. I wait for the Lord my soul waits and in his word I hope my soul waits for the Lord. More than watchman for the morning more than watchman for the morning I I read this I because I'm guessing there are some likely many people who are listening right now who find themselves yourselves in a season of waiting in a time of waiting where you're longing for something you are needing something something you're calling out to God for something and he's hearing you and he's answering you but the answer her involves waiting and he is not fulfilling that desire right now in the way you long for. He is not providing in this way right now in the way you long for and I just WanNa pray this psalm over you and specifically we'll let let me just jump in Psalm. One thirty verse. Five God I pray for those who are waiting right now and for any time time we find ourselves waiting but specifically those were waiting or longing for something to move into swear that way or desiring this or that and you and your wisdom and your love answering in the way that They would like they would prefer the seams would make the most sense so God amidst the waiting I pray someone thirty verse five in his word I hope God I pray that they would hope in your word God as they wait they would wait standing ending on your word trusting in your promises that you are with them that you'll never leave them or forsake them that you you will grant them everything they need in the middle of the waiting that you are working in their waiting you're not sitting back back Eilly your word tells us you are working in our waiting you are leading guiding orchestrating details even in our waiting you are working all things together for the good of those who love you and have been called. According to your purpose I think about those words in Romans. Eight coming on the heels of just the reality of suffering in this world and longing for our redemption. We do we long long for our redemption. In this sense we all find ourselves waiting right now for an end to sin and suffering in this world so grant grant grace to us in our waiting grant strength grant piece grant hope from your word into those who are waiting and ultimately we wait for the day when Hugh Split. Open the sky. Hi and we will see your face and you'll wipe every tear from our eyes. We wait for that day. #1,225 Providing for the Widow and the Orphan (Zechariah 7:810)

"Pray the word with david. Platt is resource from radical dot net zachariah chapter seven verses eight through ten in the word of the lord came executive is saying thus says the lord of hosts render true judgments show kindness and mercy to one another do not oppress the widow. The fatherless the sojourner or the poor and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart when a potent few verses when you think about the context here this is god's people and the process of rebuilding the temple and returning to god not just to the land that god had promised to bring them back to after the exile but returning to intimacy with god in right before this ends zachariah chapter seven. God talks about how they had participated in religious rituals and fasting and mourning in the fifth month in the seventh month. Talks about in verse five. So how for years gods people had done these things but they had missed the point like they had participated in religious ritual and yet they had not rendered true judgments then not shown kindness and mercy to one another they had oppressed widow's and orphans so jenner's and the poor. They devised evil against each other in their hearts. Is that possible to possible for the people of god to participate in religious rituals of all kinds including fasting and to miss the whole point by not showing kindness and mercy and justice to one another the world around them. So god we pray directly based on zachariah chapter seven. Percents eight through ten the you would help us to render true judgments to show kindness to one another to show mercy to one. Another got even as i pray. Each of these things got that you would help us to care for the widow to care for the orphan. To care for the sojourner to care for the poor and to not devise evil but the device good for one another in our hearts got even as i pray each of those things specifically i pray your spirit would open our eyes and our hearts to realize how we can do these things more faithfully in our lives. Swarner read them one more time straight from versus nine ten and as i read them we pray. Oh god they you would move our hearts and help us to think of maybe even just one or two specific ways after we finish this prayer that we might do these things not help us to render true judgments the show kindness to one another to show mercy to one another to not oppress the widow to care for provide for the widow to care for provide for the fatherless. The orphan to care and provide for the sojourner to care and provide for the poor. God we pray you would help us to devise good for one. Another not evil to another god. Pray for the leadership of your spirit in my life and everybody's life who's listening to this right now. You help us to put this into practice. What we are reading and zachariah seventy eight through ten to put it into practice. Today in specific ways according to your word in jesus name we pray amen.
