"Pretty much at the halfway point of the season, so. Yep. I don't know. I'm usually sad about that, but you're up 5, two, two, by the way, 5 wins two losses two ties. That's about all I'm up on. Thursday night. The Panthers, the team that is single handedly dented my wallet and dented my $1 million picks balance. It was so bad that my guy PJ walker, who was good two weeks in a row. It was so awful today that they benched him for Baker Mayfield. Who we all assumed we were never going to see again in a NFL game. Baker Mayfield came in and played really well in the second half. And now he might start in this stuff. That's a different team. PJ, what happened to you, buddy? This game's in Carolina. I think Carolina is, I don't know what you do if you're done because you're not that far away from maybe getting the number one pick in the draft now. Right. You're a game behind Houston. You're going nowhere anyway. I have the falcons favored. I thought the falcons played pretty well today in that charger's game. And Herbert just had no receivers. He just kind of patched it together and made a couple plays with echo and all of a sudden they're winning by three. With some field goal kicker, just seemed like a classic, oh, this random sticker just keggers. If your last name is dick, or you have to become a kicker, right? He's got to be, he's got to be sitting there thinking, I'm glad I did that. Knowing that Chris brockman's acumen is now finally matching my gravitas. Higher. Or something like that. We're 18 11 and one overall. What's happening? I mean, come on. What's going on? Well, it couldn't be as bad as he was last year, so he flipped it. I was crushing it. I finished strong last year. I've been carrying this for about a whole season. Yeah. All right, look. Chargers have all kinds of trouble, okay? They've got Keenan Allen out, Mike Williams out, echo is going to be questionable. Just take the falcons at home and feel good about it. How much is it? I think it's falcons win the game, so that's why I'm going to take the three points. Okay. No, Jonathan Taylor and a rookie quarterback going against Bill Belichick on the road. Okay, give me the Patriots by all of the points. And it's not just any team, too. They kind of don't like the cults do they. Kind of don't like to call it. They want to put it on them. Some stuff a few years ago. Something happened? It's something happened, something happened. Like my record, it's inflated. Carolina, Cincinnati. A lot of points in this game. We saw a PJ walker could do last week on the road in Atlanta and Cincinnati. They really need to bounce back in the worst way, so I expect a lot of points in this game can be over the 42 and a half. And I think Seattle wins the game outright in Arizona to move at 6 and three, which is a complete opposite of what they said they were going to be coming into the year when I had them 32 out of 32 and first on the clock. If you want to do a nice little money line underdog partway, I like falcons. I like Seahawks, take it and feel good about it. We're going for no. I mean, so the falcons are leading their division. You throw in a second round pick. If you're the Patriots, you gotta listen to that. Brian burns is really good. So is Jeremy chin. They've got some good players on that defense. They draft decent players. They have the guys. What about luce in a first for brand burns? Not enough? I need to throw it a second. Awesome. Yeah, it burns is like really good. I'm aware. Yeah. I was trying to figure out if the Pats could get burns, what kind of defense they could have. Like, how good could that defense be with one more pass rusher? You know, the interesting thing is the Mac Jones thing we laugh about it and it's like not gonna wanna do that. I don't think, but he's just crazy enough or it's like, oh, I'll take your first round asset if you want, we could still say, that's the one owner where he will pick up the phone and listen. "To make a play. Next up cardinals lines, cardinals, 12 and a half point favorites on the road, going to Ford field. Total 47 and a half. And again, another injury situation emerging for the Cardinals here. Deandre Hopkins will again be missing time for this team. Two to four months MCL surgery puts the rest of his season in jeopardy. That is a real problem for the Cardinals, TJ hawkinson, by the way, he's set to miss this game with a hand injury. So key weapons for both quarterbacks set to miss this game, of course, one quarterback is Kyler Murray. The other one is Jared Goff, so the importance of missing weapons certainly a lot greater on the side with Jared Goff as the quarterback. But still significant. I mean, Deandre Hopkins, I mean, one of the best wide receivers in the recent history of the NFL. You don't have him, your offense is always going to look worse than it would if you had him. Both these teams really proficient covering the number so far this season, Arizona 9 and four against the spread so far this year and the Lions 8 and 5 against the spread on the season. Of course, the Lions failing miserably to cover last week and they got destroyed by the Denver Broncos, of course the Cardinals failing to cover as well last week when they lost to the LA rams at home on Monday Night Football. And that's a game that kind of reopens the door in the NFC west race and that really turns up the importance of this game for the Arizona Cardinals, right? You win this game against the Lions like you're supposed to, you still at least maintain that one game lead heading into the final three games of the season. We will see if they can do that. I mean, I guess the question is, you know, how much do the Cardinals really go out and give it their all in this game? Again, coming off a big loss like that, I think we're gonna see a pretty charged up Cardinals team. But my question here really is, do we get the competitive Lions team that we have seen at home throughout the season? The lines they've been competitive at home this year against teams like the ravens, the Vikings, made that big comeback against the niners that fell just short. They have been very competitive. The numbers, of course, say the Cardinals all day in this game, but I am going to lay off it as a big number on the road in a potential look ahead spot as the Cardinals. They host the colts on Saturday next week, which marquee game prime time. I think that this is a game that's probably best to lay off of, especially with the Lions. Again, being a very competitive team on their own field. Panthers builds up next, I think, has the potential to be a lot less competitive, despite both of those last couple games I've talked about being double digit spreads. Panthers 11 point dogs on the road in this game total 44 and a half. And the big story coming into this game is just how bad the quarterback situation has been for the Carolina Panthers over the last few weeks. Cam Newton ever since he's taken over as a starting quarterback, zero and three are the Carolina Panthers. It has not been good PJ walker came in briefly last game for the Panthers. That did not go well. Either he turned the ball over in his brief action and now we're talking about Sam darnold might be a couple of ways from getting back a couple of weeks I should say from getting back into the mix. None of those are the options for the Carolina Panthers. It's very sad that the Cam Newton thing has not panned out. That first week we scored a couple of touchdowns when only playing for a couple of plays. That was a really cool story. But since then, things have just gone super south for the Carolina Panthers. Carolina, by the way, 5 and 8 against the spread this season, only the bears Jaguars and jets are worse against the number this season than the Panthers. There are a few other teams at 5 and 8 as well, but only the bears Jaguars and jets worse than those teams against the number on the season and this is a big game for the bills all of a sudden. They've lost back to back Heartbreakers against contending teams, right? They played in that high wind situation against the Patriots. Lost 14 to ten. They had multiple chances to win it late, but they simply couldn't reliably throw the ball in those wins to get the win. And then of course last week they play Tampa Bay. They go, they go behind early, furious comeback to force over time and then they lose it on a touchdown and overtime and boy. What a week last week was for underdog betters and overtimes. You have the bangles as a home dog in overtime, take a field goal to start over time. They lose by giving up a touchdown to the niners. You have the bills. Three and a half point dogs. You figure, just give up a field goal, everything's going to be fine. They give up a huge chunk plan over time for a touchdown to not cover the spread against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So again, just like RIP, if you have the browns, RIP, if you had underdogs in overtime last week in the NFL. But two straight heartbreaking losses for the bills, all of a sudden this game takes on a lot of importance. I think we see a really focused bills team whose defense is excellent, by the way, I think they are going to really shut down Cam Newton. PJ walker, Sam darnold, Matt Barkley, Charles Barkley, whoever the quarterback may be for the Carolina Panthers in that ball game. I would lean toward the bills, covering the spread in that game. So that's halftime here on the GBI show folks. We have made it through the first half of the NFL week 15 schedule. And well, again, we made it further this week than urban Meyer. So that's a pretty big win in my book. "Blake, you lose, you got that Corey fuller smile. I'll tell you what, man. You know, I don't know, I don't know if maybe Tampa was just sleepwalking. And they figured out a way to kind of get it together. You know, but you know, they concerned me a little bit because, you know, it was a talent of two halves. If you look at what happened in the first half, it was dominated. You know, you know, for the most part, by Indianapolis 21 points in the second quarter. And then they just fell flat. They all, you know, Tom Brady usually makes we always just get Bill Belichick the credit for making an adjustment. It seems like Tom Brady made the adjustment and he put up 24 points in the second half, and that was the difference. You know, the quarterbacks. I think if you go back all the other positions, these teams are very close as far as from a talent perspective, especially with no Antonio Brown around right now. Yeah, exactly right. And one thing we know Bart until that clock hits triple zero, you got, you can't you can't rest. You can't let up. And if you do, you're gonna get beat and we've seen it time and time again. Unfortunately, you and I have been on that sideline and it's happened to us before. So, you know, we've seen it. Nobody's brought their team back more in the fourth quarter than Tom Brady and this is just another day he went for him. And it's like, oh, well, hey, Brady did it again. I mean, that's how good Tom Brady is. We know Rex, you know, I just love when I just have the study for a test. It was all about cliff notes, right? So we got a couple clip note games. And I just want to just tell me like your first thought on these little cliff notes that we have, right? So, you know, I'm back, Superman was back, but I take what kryptonite Superman is must be hidden in the receiver's accurately as Cam Newton gets bitched 5 for 21. What say you Rex? Yeah, I mean, you can't drive the ball anymore. And that's why no team in the league wanted Cam Newton. And the fact that Carolina gave him $10 million guaranteed money the craziest ass thing I've ever heard of. He was on his couch. You could have had him for nothing, the minimum, and you gave him $10 million. I don't get it. But what a guy is the guy is the richest owner in the league. So he just, that was his pocket change, right? Yeah, no, I guess, man. But to me, he's like, look, cam can run the football. He's still a big dude and all that. But he can not drive the football. He just pushing everything. And it's a shame too because he's a shell of a former of his former self. So how do they say? Because I mean, listen, they're playoff hopes are starting to get bleak. So they treat him like tasting him. So they let him come in and have a certain package and just go with PJ walker right now and let him dry the ball and let him be tasting him. He have a PJ walker stings..

"A BS J I have the Patriots to win this game, but I don't have them covering the spread. I went patriots 2017, I think it's going to be a really tight game. And like I said, it's going to come down to turnovers in this game. I think the Patriots are getting a little bit more consistent on both sides of the ball. The Panthers aren't quite there yet. I don't think they're far away. But if McCaffrey plays certainly that changes a lot of things because the Patriots have never been great with running backs out of the backfield and that should be an interesting matchup. How do you see this matchup going like? Yeah, I mean McCaffrey is the massive X Factor in all this, right? Because if he's back and he's close to what he was prior to the injury, then you have something that you really haven't faced all year long. I mean, he's explosive in both the run and the pass game. You get them in space. I think Belichick said it, this more off Friday morning was like basically like he gets in space forget it. I mean, he's going to pick up a huge chunk of yardage. They don't have anybody. You know, from a linebacker level, even if you want to talk and include Phillips and duggar in that in that sort of category, they can run with him. So he is, he's the massive X Factor in this game, because I think hover has been fine for them. And a little bit better as he's gone along here, but there's no comparison between those two guys. You know, there's no comparison with McCaffrey and pretty much most any other running back in the league. So that's one that will certainly have to watch tomorrow if we earn any news or obviously Sunday if it comes down to the game time decision. You think the Patriots escape with a victory? I like the way they've been playing. You know, I think. To me, Greg, to me, if they lose this game, then we're back almost where we started. You know? You're finally building some momentum, which they talked about. We're not a two one four team or not a three and 14. Nope, you've won two games in a row. You smash the jets. You went on the road and I think what we thought was a, I don't know if we could have a good team, but we think there are decent team in the Chargers. So now you have to keep that going. You can't go down to Carolina for a team that's starting either Sam darnold or PJ walker and lose the football game. You can't, because then I think you just sort of undone the sort of the positive vibes and momentum that you've created. And you know, that path that we're going to be talking about on sports that you'll have to talk about every Tuesday on sports. For anyone feller and mask that pack gets a little bit more convoluted if they drop a game of the Panthers. Yeah, absolutely. The PJ walker thinks a good point. "Mike, this matchup, you've done a lot of reporting on the Panthers this week. Talk to a lot of people over there. You have any sense on how things are trending with Sam darnold and Christian McCaffrey. I mean, at the time of this taping, we know that they were at practice. We don't know what they've done and we don't have the injury report yet. But what's your feeling what's your sense on what's going on there? Yeah, I mean, on both counts, Matt ruled tried said hopeful for both counts. And I think you could see a scenario where McCaffrey Saturday is the big day for him, according to rule, I think, as they sort of work out this process here of getting him loose and getting him ready coming off the IR, he said they would do some more explosive stuff with him on Saturday and I guess if he holds up to the explosive stuff, there's a chance to see him in the game. I did ask rule when I was talking to him on the phone on Thursday, just about the idea of, hey, you know, not even just for this game, but going forward is there going to be a pitch count with him because look, I think he's missed 18 of the 24 games that rule has been the head coach there and Carolina. And he's like, we like the rest of our backfield, some of the stuff that Hubbard has done. They brought in Abdul, who they, at least they're talking up. They seem to like him as well. And he's like, I don't think you're going to see a scenario going forward where Christian is in there for 70 or 80 plays. I think that's, I think that's the smart thing to do. He still explosively still a game breaker when he's out there. You just kind of make sure that he's out there. And I got to tell you, I thought after hearing and talking to rule on Thursday, I thought PJ walker was going to be the quarterback on Sunday. I guess I still do if you're saying what's going to happen, but he did sort of leave it open a little bit, but still not even through the concussion protocol. He hasn't been cleared yet. So there's that part of it and he agrees that the shoulder is actually more of a concern than the concussion is. So he hasn't been cleared in protocol yet and the shoulders and issues..

"So if they can put some of those plays and install some of those plays in this week into the game plan and into that opening script, that might give the patrons some problems early, then maybe you get a touchdown drive out of that early. And then if you can play playground football a couple of times, that's how you get the Patriots into trouble in this game. And by the way, somebody asks if walker's so good and we're talking him up a lot. Like if walker's so good, why is Sam darnold at starter? That's a good question. Yeah. There was a smarter because he was a former first round pick and they traded a bunch to get them. But there were conversations at the end of the preseason that he didn't let me wasn't a walk. I think by the end of the preseason it wasn't a locked Arnold who was gonna start. Like you said, I think they paid that price for him and they had to stardom. But if you go back and you look at what they didn't camp and what they did in the preseason, walker did just as much to win that job as darnold did. You know, I don't know that he's a franchise quarterback because, you know, he's not super accurate from the pocket, but he's, you know he's a solid bridge guy. If you needed a bridge quarterback, if you need a guy to start for a year or you know, you lost your quarterback early in the season. You have a good roster. You still want to try to be competitive. PJ walker is a real NFL quarterback. He is. And darnold might be at least a starting quarterback. I think he can be. Sam darnold might be on his way out of that conversation. PJ walker can play. Yeah, so it's going to be a nearly interesting week of defending PJ walker and I look at some of the game plans that the Patriots have had in the past. Again, some of these mobile quarterbacks and it seemed like when they played Kyler and they played Lamar last year that Bill Belichick finally found a formula that worked against those types of guys where he put Kyle duggar and Adrian Phillips out on the edges as overhang players to kind of force the run back inside and force the quarter back back inside, plus you get put those guys out there instead of some of the bigger linebackers at the Patriots have and those guys are obviously more athletic to bring those guys down and contain a guy like PJ walker. So if the question is, I guess, is how much do the Patriots? How much do the patrons actually fear a guy like PJ walker and do they have, do they feel like they need to go full game plan mode against him like they did last year with Lamar and with Kyler, 'cause if they come out with that sort of same formation where they had to overhang and it was duggar on one side.

"Give me the guy you know and the guy who's hurt over the guy with the upside that walker has. I would much rather face Sam darnold. Let's show the people why here. Let's show them somewhat PJ walker can do. Yeah. So this is a play from the preseason. We're gonna get into some XFL stuff today in a second, but here's the preseason play. And you just can see the mobility and not just the fact that he can run around, but watch how explosive his movements are as a runner. This is a guy that explosive ball carriers quick, he's fast. He gets up to speed fast, but he's really, really quick, as well with the ball in his hands. And then watch this arm talent. He's got plenty of plenty of velocity in our shot. Of course, is going to have sound on it, but that's okay. I can turn it down. Yeah, you can meet it. Okay, so it's just, you know, it's well covered, right? Initially, the colts have fine coverage, but just watch the quickness and the ability to get out of the pocket and watch this throw. That is right. Seriously clothesline. And you look at that ability to scramble out of the pocket like this and then throw the ball on a line. I mean, that's difficult to defend. If you are not disciplined, like that cold to Russia wasn't that when failing after him and fell all over himself. If you're not disciplined and you're not aware of your containment in the pocket and keeping your integrity in terms of keeping that pocket closed off to him, he is somebody that can absolutely murder you with his legs and then be able to get out on the move. And then he's probably more dangerous on the move throwing the football than he is just throwing the football from the pocket. Right. That's probably and we'll show it here in some of these clips..

"De Kwan Jones in the middle of the defense and try to get it out on the edge. I think they're gonna have some opportunities to run the football in this game against Carolina and then you integrate some play actions and shore passes quick throws, get the ball out, all those types of things. And you could probably you can score against this defense. It's a good defense. It's 8th in the league and they have an amazing pass for us for their fourth in the league and pressure rate, fourth and sacks, both those guys burns and Reddick and really get after it. But I think there are a lot of ways that this matchup is not terrible for the Patriots. If they do go with some Jakob Johnson or like you said two tight ends, put some bigger personnel on the field and try to be the more physical team. I think that there is that option there against this Carolina defense. To the Panthers offense. And now the exciting part for the show begins for Alex bars because your boy, PJ walker is going to have a chance to start in this game. It sounds like Alex Sam darnold, Mikey already reported earlier today that the right shoulder injury is just as much a problem as the concussion is for Sam darnold. So I mean, he got brought to you, you saw that hit last week, great. Oh, you got it. Yeah. Yeah. Very limited by both injuries. It sounds like through the first two days of practice for the Panthers, PJ walker has been taking first team reps been preparing as the starter all week long. So it sounds like it's gonna be PJ and the first thing that I'll say and then we do have some plays in the vault for PJ walker but the first thing I'm gonna say is you can't let PJ walker is mobility and athleticism take you by surprise. And not that they weren't going to coach it and they're not going to game plan for it and all that kind of stuff. But we have seen in the past that even when they coach it, even when the game plan for it, guys like deshaun Watson, Lamar Jackson, cam back in Kara is Carolina days. Those players have given this defense.

"Our exclusive wagering partners at bet online dot AG. On the Thursday, injury report for the Patriots, once again, the lone DNP for New England was cornerback JC Jackson. He was not at practice for the second consecutive day due to an illness in terms of Jackson's status for Sunday. I'm told that this illness is not believed to be serious for Jackson. It is not related to COVID-19, either, but the Patriots have a little bit of a history of not playing players that don't practice during the week, but that history has gone by the wayside with a few examples this season, some uncharacteristic examples, if you will, Isaiah win did not practice all week long due to COVID-19 being on COVID-19 protocol, then he was activated on Saturday before a Sunday game and played in the game on Sunday. Devon God Shaw also did not practice all week long a few weeks ago with a finger injury, and then was at least in some packages for the game on Sunday for the New England Patriots. So although Bill Belichick's history says JC Jackson missing two consecutive days of practice, if he's not back out there on Friday, misses all three days typically, that means he will not play on Sunday, but this year it's been a little bit different for Bill Belichick. So don't rule JC Jackson out just yet, especially until we see what happens with him on Friday. On the other side for the Carolina Panthers, some developments at the quarterback position, four Carolina, starter Sam darnold was not spotted during the media portion of practice for porters down in Carolina, said that darnold did participate in a limited capacity in some drills before the media was allowed to view practice, but PJ walker, the Panthers backup has taken all the first team reps on Wednesday and Thursday and is slated to start on Sunday against the Patriots. So more than likely New England due to a concussion and a right shoulder issue for Sam darnold after taking some big hits in that win over the Atlanta Falcons last week and all likelihood, it will be PJ walker under center for the Carolina Panthers and not Sam darnold. We will have you covered for this patriots Panthers game in week 9 on Sunday, one p.m. kick-off for the Patriots on seon S media and on patriots press pass so.

"I would almost is it crazy for me to be more afraid of PJ walker? I am. Oh, I totally am. Who do you want a guy who wasn't good enough for the jets or the undisputed the only man in XFL history to win the league MVP? I mean, it's a no brainer. Not only can PJ walker play he's the kind of quarterback that's given them trouble the last couple years. He's maybe not as good as some of those other guys, but I think back to that Texans game last year and some of the fits Desean Watson gave them. Obviously, PJ walker's not as good as deshaun Watson, but he can do some of what deshaun Watson did that the Patriots really struggled with in that game. The Patriots, they faced Arnold twice a year. They have the book on darnold. They know what they need to do. So I feel not at PJ walker's a bit of another animal. I don't know. I don't feel great. Darnold can move a little bit, right? But PJ walker's way more athletic. And you know oh yeah. And you don't know as much about PJ walker. They have institutional knowledge as Sam darnold. They've played him so many times. They can run so many different things against him, whether they want to try to throw zero blitzes Adam again or play coverage, all these types of things, right? They know the book on Sam darnold. And especially when you look at this offense without a real rushing threat and then without a threat out of the backfield and Christian McCaffrey, their entire offense in the first couple weeks of the season, they played pretty well this offense, right? And I was singing the praises of Joe Brady. There's a lot of crossover tape. There at the Patriots playing the NFC south. And they look pretty good for the first couple of weeks when Christian McCaffrey was healthy. Now Christian McCaffrey has gotten out and their whole offense has tanked. So for the running backs don't matter crowd. I know I'm supposed to be in that school of thought out. Christian McCaffrey feels like one of those guys that truly the whole offense ran through him, right? And I don't necessarily know if it was from a Carolina perspective at the offense was running through him or if defenses were game planning to number one item what stopped Christian McCaffrey, right? And now that that probably a little bit of both..

"And I think across the NFL, with any follows it up, and he makes a play that only he can make. So, you know, those guys the way they have instincts, man, you signed the XFL, I don't know if you guys watched the XFL. Oh yeah, like that. It was like this guy definitely did. It was an electric factory. And he helped a lot. I mean, I made a lot of money on the XFL just betting on PJ. So that was a good thing I got to keep going. I mean, him and I was a cam Phillips was the receiver there in Houston. I mean, that was the connection. He would have won MVP, I think, of that thing played out. I had said that at the time. So what's funny is we have I worked with the Luis Perez kit too, who was in New York, who had gotten in and then New York was playing good. Oh, wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm sitting there. He was with the Birmingham or Alabama. Yep. Yeah. And so I'm sitting there and I'm like, oh, these two guys are gonna play in the championship. And then I wake up and I'm like, oh, never mind the world's gonna shut down. So that was a little different. That would have been the Jenkins elite bull at both of them. Had played at the championship game. I went to watch PJ sorry. One last time I went to watch last game. In Houston, before everything got shut down. And all of her luck is there, the commissioner right Andrews that. And he's walking and I look at him and I go you're welcome. And he's like, I just kept walking. And I was like, you know, I just wanted to make sure I do that. We're saving this New York franchise. It is Houston franchise. That's awesome. Man, well, we were both Alex and I were texting back and forth about PJ walker, all preseason and I knew that was your guy, so I was happy for you and excited for you. As you can tell, Tim clearly knows his stuff, I'll throw his Twitter handle back on the screen here for everybody. Make sure that you go and follow him on YouTube as well. All things quarterback. You can go on there. All things can be excuse me. And Tim has breakdowns, film breakdowns of Mac Jones of the other rookie QBs. I didn't get to ask you how you thought Mac was compared to the other rookie quarterbacks, but we can have you on in a couple of weeks once we get some regular season tape under the belt and discuss some of those things as well. But all things QB on YouTube breakdowns, film breakdowns of Mac Jones, the other rookie quarterbacks and all sorts of people around the NFL are flocking to all things QB to watch these kiwi breakdowns. I'm telling you from a guy like Tim, who has worn the helmet and been in those shoes before it's obviously next level stuff as you guys can tell from the last hour or so and we could pick Tim's brand for another hour, Alex to talk to him about the XFL for another hour. So we'll have Tim back on soon and check back in with him after Mac Jones makes a couple regular season starts. But until then, Alex and I will be back on the Thursday show at a preview Sunday's season opener against the Miami Dolphins. I can't believe we're already there, but it is week one, so we will get into the dolphins and the Patriots match up on Thursday,.

"He's planted to pro 11 making police so being in this league film and this league and then going to the XFL like a stepping stone PJ walker he played foot XFL Houston team for last year 2020 in the final with the panther. So you know my plan is do the same thing he did being this week and he goes straight to the XFL play a season there or you know midseason if a team want to bring you into camp. Do that but you know the biggest thing for me right now is just stay healthy in this league and get prepared for the XFL because that's going to be the big resume that's going you know get me an NFL within one year within that same year on that. So when the point for me if I had to guess get back in the NFL I would say within the next year a year and a half or so. Well we are so freaking excited to see this happen and continue to watch your journey unfold. Again I can't say it enough. Best of luck to you. And I would love to catch up with you again and have you back on this podcast maybe at the start of your football season this fall to try to recap people on how your season with your team in New York did and how you are doing with your training and whatnot. We will switch on over and talk about some charity coaching and mentoring but you guys are now listening to David pandel. He is an athlete a pro style quarterback. I hope you guys are fully enjoying this episode because you are learning so much about a young man young athlete that really knows what he wants that's going for his dreams that won't stop until he gets there. And I love hearing stories like this because again being in this career is no easy task. And I could say that because I although I'm not a professional athlete being in my industry a lot of you guys know having competed on reality TV shows when I was younger and having to start my own podcast and doing all the stuff that I've done I totally understand what it's like beating adversity and being competitive and just having to have that driving for. So having somebody on here like David is a breath of fresh air. You and I listening to the boss who's left self sports podcast I'm your host Britney baldy. And charity coaching and mentoring you guys know that I love love love talking about how our pro athletes there wasn't girlfriends or our reality to be competitors give back. So I know that David is super busy so he doesn't get that actively involved with charity just yet. But I know he likes to do a little bit of coaching and some mentoring. So David can you talk about that please? I'm from Columbia Maryland 1520 minutes outside of Baltimore and it's a lot of keys that go voted play a football. Been the same position as me go to college at a high level. You know have a chance to make it to the big league the pros. So what I do in our community back at home is me and this guy Chris Brooks was like a mentor to me who's been helping me out since I started playing football and just being like a big brother to me. We get a group of kids and the area. Probably three days a week we get a group of kids and we basically train them. We do like quarterback training. He does running back training and I basically. Help him break down you know football mechanics as a quarterback. He helps them as a running back. You know we've merged them together at the end..

"A fan of one team funding against the fan of the other and with this whole using the same stadium dynamic and the weird kind of issue that no one really cares about football in la but now they're starting to develop fans and your these two teams that are trying to build up their fan bases that are in the same city playing the same stadium. So i thought it was kind of a battle for turf type deal but there was a great angle of the fight. Where a lady that was two rows behind kind of getting it getting into with the main instigator. And if you see things kind of fizzled off no one had really thrown a punch yet and this lady just chucks her full soda right at this guy. And he had his back turned so he turns around and just in sheer rage just tries to punch all five people right in front of them at once with a low backhand kind of swipe motion and then the brawl ensued a lot of punches. Were being thrown. The main instigator ended up trying to take on guys one against five so pretty impressive by him but really nothing else more entertaining than that for the rams charters game and the final. Preseason game of this weekend was in indianapolis. The colts they beat the panthers twenty one to eighteen one more. Exciting games of the entire sleet we had. Pj walker formerly of the xfl re looked really good for the carolina. Panthers i mean really good. He was ten twenty. One hundred. Sixty one yards touched out a really explosive athlete. That was moving very fast. He can throw on. The run was ripping throws up the sidelines and again a great backup who could see a lot of time. Depending on what. Sam darnold does but good backup to have cuba hubbard. He'd a huge run after escaping from the pile. He can be a really nice complement to christian. Mccaffrey for carolina. If he does what he did at oklahoma state you tears marsal marshalls kind of show a little bit of what he can do. The y rec- route. Lsu who some thought. He would be a first round pick but he was second round. Pick he had three receptions for eighty yards Takeaway from this game as jacob and he looked pretty solid and the colts are going with jacob and sam etlinger two quarterbacks with a lot of experience but easing looks like the more superior quarterback he he was fifteen to twenty one hundred eighty three yards another again. Another guy with some really impressive throws a all lot of dimes this weekend but he had some really impressive throws down the field. Sam longer was ten fifteen fifty five yards. He interception but offers a little bit more of that mobility aspect to his game. So it'll be interesting to see how that battle plays out but reports coming out this week or that went his injury return. Does luke promising can be more closer to the five week Timetable compared to the twelve week timetable. That we were provided by indianapolis. So that they'll do it I have some preseason overreactions. Just kind of recapping everything. My first being that the rookie quarterback class could end up being the best ever from the nfl. I mean i was impressed. With how poise these guys looked. All of them look like they have very strong arms ferry accurate arms and obviously not all of them are going to pan out at least one probably two of them are going to be in backup roles in five years the statistical probability but i would not be surprised if all five of these guys and upstarting of for their for their respective teams the next five ten years. I just wouldn't be surprised. And i don't know how many dr classes i quarterback dr causes. I could really say that. About and obviously We're looking at preseason but look nfl second-stringers thir- triggers backups starters arresting. But they're still. They still were college players last year. And you're still going up against an insane talent gap where the jump is just crazy so it's still impressive to see what these guys can do Some other overreactions. Have the broncos or winning ten games this year just because of how good their skill position players are and how much that depth is how much depth they have at every level. that's just lethal Pj walker. i think he should start over. Sam darnold. that's my third overreaction. Extreme overreaction definitely false if you really look at it. But i don't know just watching. Pj walker runaround seeing everything he can do. It was very intriguing to me. So that's my third reaction and my fourth is that mack jones will win will win rookie of the year very very bold prediction. I better put money on. Trevor lawrence or justin fields but not jones fit so well in that offense how good that defense in how good that running game is going to be. I think he's he's a guy that could end up thriving his first year but he and i could see all these guys driving first year so now let's get into my fancy corner so last week i went through the ten ten players that i see doing the best of anyone in fantasy this year. But i've got ten sleepers for you. The first being cd cd-rom him and deck. They really just started develop a special connection last year. I mean if you look at the targets that cd lamb had. is i. five games with that prescott. Hit six nine seven seven and eleven before dax devastating injury. I really think he is twelve hundred yard season. I really do. I mean he catches everything. He's great after the catch catch. Falling down can adjust the ball incredibly well and i think i really see him taking over that number one receivable for dallas over amari cooper. Just think he's the more gifted receiver Another guy who isn't really asleep at this point but the guy who i think's gonna breakout is brand new youk Shanahan has a past of exporting x. Wide receiver in his offense. Euch shows a lot of flashes. When either with jimmy. Garoppolo or trey lance. I think a huge a you is just a huge huge plus side receiver for them and it's just shown in the past when kyle shanahan funnels his past game through his ex wide receiver when he actually a good one. You had andre. Johnson.
