About because they had the late yet they had to complete opposite. Sketches covid for everything, right all of them getting to work in their fearlessness in it that you have to reward will. Their peers are not rewarding them I I I. I'm not saying they bad people I'm just saying that they was raised in a way that I would not have raised them. I thought Mace would live for moments like does feel like he did I mean granted not in that moment say in that moment I feel like they let the captain down when was the the Charlie Ward? Body slammed that was a couple years later. Ese was yes it was Charlie Yeah Yeah PJ Charlie, Ward upside out. Charlie. Ward have more heart than all the mother Knicks and he tried to bring pj Brown down and of course it's the next playoff series but you know he went for. He went forward. So you saying Charlie Ward and that moment more heart than anybody. During the Scottie Pippen that's right. Charlie Ward is a barely six foot tall football player generally, you don't want to. You don't want no with those dudes although I can say say, which is Norman you you and your own life don't want those problems with Josh Norman but dare can read the just giantism man relative to his job in the world. No. biggie. I think. That's why Charlie rushed him though because it's a football mentality on the court. Yeah. You Know Mad Charlie Ward had to be to try to fight you like. As if you haven't met Charlie sermon passing until I in tell us, writing time but. Not on some just sit down chop it up now. All right. In fact, my sister was the maid of Honor in Charlotte Awards wet and one of the nicest things I remember my says the do it for me into listening really that long was she took me to the summit once when the Knicks came because Charlie gotta tickets reason the tunnel got an autograph and all of that stuff and that's not a man looking to fight. "Own without or A. Damn game but adding heroes out a or he only played one game with him before it was shut down was the last game against. Charlotte. So we never played a with a complete unit Meyers Leonard was out the entire time So I just saw. So. Many different lineup you've been talking about on like you do some special because I can see it here. We just haven't been able to put a complete team. Tyler here thing hurts feelings you know about the Coin Flip Bright I do not know about the coin Flip Celtics in Miami last draft they tie for the thirteenth pick point flip I do remember that should have been like leading. ESPN is she been shown it live on ABC Celtics lose get fourteen Miami then he's dropping you know he's going to go somewhere between ten and thirteen and he's sitting there thirteen just like please don't take him twenty years old but I there's a fearlessness to him and I think your whole team has that I would describe it Other than the lineup the how malleable you guys you can basically play handle any type of situation. There's a fearlessness and there's a toughness and I thought that really surfaced in especially game one walkie was ready for it because there's a loose ball, you guys were getting it. There is a rebound you guys grant the hand on at Ud. There was just an intensity that you could see them trying to adjust to it. I thought they adjusted better in game two but You Bet on tough teams before. I would say that obviously the words that was one of the hallmarks but from a playoff toughness standpoint doesn't have to be there. Can you win a title without that? I definitely think you have to have it. in in the teams that. You know. I definitely think finished first in the regular season you have to to you saw we had the toughness to but the historically you go back, you look at Pat Riley's teams. He's just injected that into DNA aware that you go back to the Lakers teams Eagle definitely go to nick's teams all they were about. Right there that was the enemy of the Knicks. In the early nineties You saw once he got to Miami Urosevac we in. Along morning? You got some pretty lineups out there. The Damn Marley Tim Arnold. He's PJ Brown's You got some greedy guys. So it was always been in a DNA honest has his career with the team last souness eighteen, seventeen, seventeen, eight years not to say was like that too when they fifty no next. It's tough as anybody, right? Right but. You know people only Macedon Dwayne but in India ways game but it has something that was just there from the beginning. You know you saw him as a rookie. Do I around him going after people in what he did a second guessing the Anna is which year you just kinda see that in guys. You know they call it the death, a guy you know they identify those guys early on in the even if you're not gonNA team at dinovite, those guys on other teams they go against a potential acquisition. Looking cheer. You just stay. Cool. Later you you've chugged it. Cleanse the Warriors kool-aid at your assisted they put the Heat kool-aid right in their pay close attention to You look at. The San Antonio Spurs. The same thing you do exact same thing in A. Little. Secret about him is like one particular player they they're looking for to that. That doesn't quite fit the model fits the Modano that player is so It does seem to have longevity success..

"We were leaving one time, and it was actually bar who Ut's me, but he was like dude. You. Know we got? We got articles to right. We just had this huge game. Pierce went off Garnett. Da Da at. You're asking questions about the POS plan time. But that's what was great. Was the end of that bench was fun to follow? Even know they've got good and that doesn't usually happen. Usually you've got your top five guys in the rotation and all anybody wants to focus on them. And, those end of the benchers are just kind of an afterthought, but there was tons of personality. You mentioned big baby. I mean what about the crying on the bench and Kevin Garnett given him such a hard time, and and all of that and what became. Shrek donkey later on right like you know. Those young players were key pieces I. Mean I know you said that? That they went eleven deep, and they didn't always go eleven, but they needed some young players. You know look in the starting five. Rondo and Kendrick Perkins Young Young Unproven guys had to step up for them to win that championship. It didn't just happen PJ Brown. You know probably the only needed him to shoot one shot, but it was the one shot they needed him to head. It was just an amazing amazing time pretty magical. I think. That's you know going into that season though they were not count on to do well, but the stars were so strong that it allowed everyone to play their role, and all of those guys gave a little bit of themselves. They were the young players who hadn't establish themselves, or they were older players who had already been there done that, so everyone was able to find that role and we talk about last year's team. It's just so refreshing to see a team that it's about winning. It's about the you know the championship. And it didn't get sidetracked with individual pursuits, and that was what was so. I guess lots more earing. That's it yeah, totally totally in various just to wash those guys. It'd be like man. They are giving all of themselves Hustle Hustle. Those guys brought defensively locking down the Lakers in that game mean they did not want to give up a point. They were not going to just simply go quietly in the night and give it all up. They were they were focused and they were rabid. They were going after it. You know, and that's that was what was so fun to watch that team. From one to fifteen, those guys were battling and that night he. said it was just a celebration and well, let's get that. Give me one second because they'll force, celebrate a whole nother p. that's a whole nother half of the show. Really it could be so. We're going to tell you about that online with currently no NBA NHL or MLB You might think there's nothing to bet on well, you'd be wrong..

He's Huben before training camp started and I'm looking at Rondo. And just how much of a court leader? He was He plays like he clicked specially like after that championship years. Like he really became calling my homeboys back now. Rondo top five point boards. I'm telling you this ain't a flu. He doing this every year. Now Clarence will be the mentality. Rondo what you're thinking about Rondo. I the he took on our personality too because I know Cagey really ticked. Rondo under his wing really then after we want. He just turned into a monster. He's four twenty assists nights fifteen rebounds. Come why do we had to give them the keys and it was like we was. Oh Jesus oh Jesus show this Arshat dislike. We gotta get his house. Had some of these games he running you do too much. We can't hate on you go. You know what I'm saying. We we got here here. I'll go do you give them the keys. Eighteen rebounds like Twentieth SIS my day for real life you'll see them numbers from a point guard wasn't seeing them from point guards in two thousand not especially with the rebounds and even the eighteen thousand nine hundred ninety six. It was crazy it was crazy. I just I wish we could have got three championships. Runs out of the Lakers three years and we could have seen up near artery. Six year outgoing. But you know things. I'm full reason. We OUGHT TO GO RYAN. You know when we came together we was like we want to get too out of this. That was our goal even talks about. We could squeeze too out of this we. "This piece off on billion Mike wanted them to do a sports center piece about their relationship about how he taught certain people in this town how to be sports fans because to me were you startled where any of you startled. I know it's been a septic tank down here in sports for a long time. But we're any of you startled by the fact that the Marlins have had ten managers and no playoff appearances since Wade arrive the dolphins have had nine coaches including Nick Sabin, and no playoff wins. The the hurricanes. Haven't won even the cruddy ACC one time since Wade start it and the Panthers haven't won a playoff series either. ACC clemson's won two national titles. Florida state's one won three national titles. Cruddy ACC. This guy mental punch in the face. Yeah. The Panthers just hired their sixteenth coach in twenty five years. No, no stability. Now. The coastal though, where you buy where you guys surprised by that at all that the losing has been that much around this winter also they did win the ACC in basketball. I I was aware of that. And it's one of the many reasons why Dwayne Wade is special. Why he's so beloved because the franchise is the only winning team in town over a sustained period of time. It's pretty remarkable when their average when they're five hundred and fighting for the spotlight this season. It's monumental disappointment. Only because we expect so much. It is a monumental disappointment. The most expensive team in the sport missing the playoffs. And this twain way thing gives us a little bit of feel good. But he's right about the raised standard though. Mike because yeah playoff. I'm we're old enough to remember when Steve Smith and the heat making it to the hawks in the playoffs. It's something that mattered around here. Icke smith. Yeah. Oh, what a terrible nickname. That was a physical series to think there was a brawl. John CONCACAF was in the middle of it yet grand long by line. Grant Long was one of the scary. Miami Heat blessed with intimidating powered Fords. I mean PJ Brown Grant Long you UD hundred we handle this. You d thing too is I know tonight's all about Dwayne. But this is a little awkward coming back next season. Just because he wades gotten all this attention. He's like, I I get one of these. Well, you d hasn't said he's retiring, right? No on the contrary sort of leaking out. Although he did that thing on media day where he likes it on a hoop, and we all just assumed it was a retirement thing. He didn't say it's word, those explains Wapping jerseys with tonight is it going to be do you d I would self. The younger version of himself. They're going to have like a hologram. A hologram tonight. A cool moment will be if you checks into the game. I mean, I don't know how doing how air expulsion approaches this because they technically have to get it. So I don't know if he's like I'm gonna play you down as twenty five minutes, that'd be a little odd considering they need to technically. So when you guys sitting here doing pistons math are we doing pistons math because Orlando in Brooklyn now in your only hope is that in Charlotte beat us Detroit in Detroit the other day, your only hope is that the Troy loses the rest of it's games. Right. Yeah. Pistons a their form is as poor as Miami. Lately. They've lost four in a row. However, they're playing Memphis in the Knicks. So it's brutal man for all the indictments of this year's heat team. And Wade has been one of the few positives of one of the greatest you could file it when they needed the games the most they played their most losing basketball season. There haven't been a lot of losing streaks like this then needed all the games, and they lost all of them. Yeah. They did four in a row at the worst possible time, but they have put up a fight though. I thought that loss. In Toronto was a tremendous performance by Miami. It was a great performance. I mean Toronto's very good, and they caught up tough break with the inbounds Aaron whatever was happening with the referee also their comeback in Boston..

"You got gotta you know, you gotta prepare to leave this thing right now. So literally one of the first conversations I had with PJ Brown was in. No, you just got drafted young fellow buck. The this thing ain't gonna last forever. This is literally like forty eight hours after being drafted. It's not gonna last forever. And you know. Yeah. You handed yourself in college, but this different level. Now, you gotta start. They know time off all I was getting that stuff all the time. And you know, I probably I'm so lucky I've seen like different rewards and say, well, you should have been drafted higher. But I got drafted exactly where I needed to get drafted because. Our guarantee you other guys in my draft a majority the guys in front of me didn't make it. I mean, the top four three or four mate. Right. But a lot of other guys fell by the wayside. And the big reason it had nothing to do with their talent. It was just parts of them that weren't developed and then they didn't go into the environment. That was like guys thirty five thirty four thirty three, you know, no-one examine we had. I think we started the oldest starting lineup in the history of MBA that year. I mean, everybody was like thirty four right. Thirty four thirty five. Like, Stephen George land started. I'm like. Sean rooks homerun on that team. Yeah. Before way before he passed like his last year or two, but he was on that team. So it was it was just a completely veteran-laden group that they they let me know from day one. I gotta start preparing about prepare my life, you know, after basketball right now. And it was just again, you know, they didn't you know, David Wesley wouldn't let me give short answers in interviews. You know, Stacey Augmon with let me like get that whole MBA. Somebody's gonna drive me around here. And that man young fellow drive yourself to this place. Don't need. No chauffeur drive there. You know, what I'm saying in the store and get your food. Right. I was thinking on coming into the MBA people carrying rosaries. And I ain't got not didn't let me they didn't. Let me get into any of that. You know, PJ was driving his PJ might have been driving the first navigator ever put on the road, man. When I got there. He just. You know, it was just a different environment man that helped me and gave me the the information I needed to to carry this thing all the way through your also living in the world. Which is the most fascinating place in the world. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I that was a my I tell you my first my first experience in New Orleans woods was was was weird are get off the plane. I intensely was like I'm not this was after the drafts. When I went to return live for good some going by myself. I wanna go mom, dad. I wanna agent to be there. So I go to New Orleans. I get into the Walgreens on what is that Saint Charles. And I'm standing there. I got like toothpaste toothbrush and probably like four or five people back, and this do little sticks up Walgreen literally off the planning on the Saint Charles like, I'm at the Marriott on canal. This Walgreens on Saint Charles and it's getting robbing. I I just froze and like. The dude he snatched the stuff the manager comes running the guy goes out the door manager comes running by. And I'm just like what the hell just happened. So the store call my agent man, you won't believe what has happened. He said don't shoot tell your mother. You don't you? Don't you mentioned it to her? Don't you open your mouth, I said coup. Then literally like as I'm going back to the hotel. I got introduced to like a short poboy, right? Yeah. So I go from having this hangman in all in this place. Then on my medicine's, most, listen, whatever. Great the food had poboy have been. Yeah. Like literally in that same low our window in that just as I man it's gonna be pretty good down here. He's going to be pretty pretty don't always if at all of this. It would be awful if it wasn't so awesome. Right. Everything about it. That is as it. The worst is awful. Right. Just rain with its unique. And I I I enjoyed my my time down there..

"I but last year was unclear if he was just so young and in a bad situation or how much kind of upside reserves, I was a believer. But. You know, I've just noticed from the trade value drafts on doing just keeps climbing. Now, he's in the top thirty. But he just looks like a guy who should be the best guy in team. Yeah. And is just plays with a certain spirit to him that I think is pretty enticing. You have him college Stein. Whatever is in a contract year restricts. Yeah. And then he's, but he's playing out of his mind playing out of his mind, and they have some scores. And they've also been picking the top eight for fifteen years. It's a good start. I am a little dubious of it though. Because I do think they've they haven't had the Celtics just had this gauntlet trip that they had was just the worst possible time of the season the kings of had kind of the observation of schedule playing at home a lot. They I wanna see them on a road trip before I really believe Kim lead before we go false quickly. Sure. This. Talk about him anymore. I don't know what to say. We only say what was that Fash last night? I I mean like, it's either medical. I honestly don't know, man. I don't know what to say anymore eight it's even like, even if he'd made those free throws every night is pretty much the same. It's two for six three for five three for six of the line gets about you. Trade. Right. The second. He sure doesn't after last night. You would know better than I would. I mean is there any team? Like, if you're I that's the thing is that how embarrassing would it be for them to unload, the number one draft pick a year and a half later. I would trade in Phoenix for Jesse Jackson who I think is equally disgruntled and having an equally bad time. I like that trade for you. Because Josh Jackson just becomes a useful Swiss army knife ointments brothers like we're starting the motherfucker club. I'm in it. You're. You're fuckers. That'll be it. And they'll go before we got I wanted to give you my my theory that I gave on emergency. I wish I don't sad. They're going to have to trade him. And he's going to have to team that is basically the Spurs. It has to be that that kind of situation. It's gotta be infrastructure. You're almost breaking him down and starting over. You're just completely breaking down. All the damage. That's happened. To assume the has been part of the process here in Philly. I I mean, I'm sure you're right. But think about how poor organization they've had the rest with Hanky getting just shit canned. Right as he's about the fruition of this. And and then the freaking what's the game of thrones family, the Lancasters? And it was the guy who ran the head Lancaster, dude. I die diwan. Thailand. Lancaster comes in a K, Jerry Colangelo. He's gotta bring in his kid and. And it's just a mess. The whole thing is absolute shit show. Amazing or this good. Yeah. We have to possibly transcending guys Simmons one and a tiny bit more from him. I have a triple double bit from him. Then I was. Yeah. Folks last thing. I went on emerged desktop today and talked about my theory that Carmelo Anthony is just going to go back to the Nixon retire. Here's the case. They're really know. Happy chasing the title stories other than Mitch Mun with the like, oh one or oh Lakers. And that wasn't happy. Dolly barely played. He can't feel that good about that ring GP and Miami. Oh, six probably the best hanging on. I can't say Jason Kidd was chasing ring and hanging on Dow's because he was actually really important for that. That was. Pretty shocking. Yeah. PJ Brown on the Celtics was certainly not somebody is good as Carmelo KamAz a future hall of Famer he's actually now. Underrated the way people should on them. I think it's outrageous that people are not pretending..

"Now, I'm in thirteen but moms, right, okay. But moms are so when it comes to building young girls confidence. I mean, they're everything. But you you your mom and dad have been instrumental in your life in a in a lot of ways your dad, obviously PJ Brown, who I know. Well, we all know was a fantastic player. But you you your relationship with basketball, a little different in terms of how things started for you. Tell us a little bit about that. Well, my parents really didn't push basketball on me. They was idea becomes it comes. I was into a lot of other stuff before that. I did panel lessons I marched in parades. And to Murphy got too big to fit the March and boots that I tried a lot of different stuff. I love Olly ball. I was really touched at that. So choosing basketball was wanted probably the hardest decisions on my life. But my parents never really pushed it there was like, oh you want to do this. Then let's do this. You know? But when I hit that Grossberg from my eighth grade to ninth grade year, I went from five eleven to six four one summer. Ooh. Imagine him growing pain. Okay. But I would from the sixth floor, and I was like, you know, what I'm just going focused on basketball and volleyball. And I did that for a while. And then when it really started getting serious schools were coming in like, which one do, you know, you can't just keep because we were running around rapid with you for both sports. And I was like, I'm when we play basketball, and I'm gonna I made a decision, you know, basketball. It takes you a long way. Yeah. Does the do you still play any volleyball? We do we play a sand volleyball as a team Lawrence actually, really good at volleyball. So we split up, and we go to someone's apartment, and we play about San bylaws a team or do we do it for a workout on Friday because it really gives competitive voice? We're actually pretty good at it. We notified the middle is not like we're is out there playing it gets competitive. So sometimes we even for a workout same by the so, yeah, what about PNO? Do you still play and all can use it? Why? No, no about all that. Piano was like just a thing that I wanted to try. I know of you songs not like, you know, John leisure, at least you keys or anything like that. But you know, you can do a little twinkle twinkle little stars. Mary. You're going to get. I totally understand that I play the violin. And I can play twinkle twinkle little star Mary had a little lamb. But after that, y'all short our the music. Hi expectations for your team as always. So this is one of my ten questions, and I'm sure to Rica's tracking on on. How many I'm going here? She's gonna make me stick to this. But coach mochi is so intriguing to me, she's one of my favorite coaches. Obviously. I love her fire. Just how it she is how competitive she is the way she dresses. But sometimes I see your she is real chill. Tell me the difference between in game coach mulkey and out of basketball coach mochi from your from your seat co smokey is like is the same thing. Like, you said she's like really chew like, she'll come prizewinner hair. Although we'd be like coach what happens you like. I just got out the shower, I should go and do these drills warm up. Let's do it. You know, she's really a straight to the point coach..

"If you were giving him a to do list Paul, what would you say they actually have to acquire to be competitive with the warriors? The help. The far they always in need of three and guys, you know, you need as many of those guys as you can have, especially when you have Chris, Paul. James harden doing all the playmaking and you lost two of them lost Trevor REEs and Bommel Tei. And so if you could find another guy who can feel that role at three and guy because you know, mellows coming in, he's not really known for being a defensive specialist, you know, and then that guy can take pressure off, James harden, you know, now it's going to be more pressure on James harden to guard the top wingmen because you lose two defenders. So maybe as offense may suffer because of that, but you need to get another perimeter guy that you could say, I, we need this guy as the Fender and can knock down threes and that's what they're missing. Any more of their more sounds like fantasy football draft like I'm ready to make move. But I mean, if I'm wanted to players. I just got here. Go to practice earth before you talk about trade, but, but that's the thing that makes him a great jam. He's not scared to make moves see what he can do like their team right now. Yeah, they could get better defensively tennis could maybe be surprise for, I think marquees Chris is going to be great for them. He's he's actually more athletic than cappella. He will. He is going to run the floor. Well, having him come off the bench. I think now there he will finally like breakthrough. A really good makes me think about, you know, when we put together to team with Ray any house Kevin, you know, we thought we had the perfect team, but you know, Danny was like, no, we need to get better. We had the best record in the league, but in the middle season we brought on PJ Brown. So saying I was a key. I remember Hugh game. He to me. Right? I mean, we had the best record, so I understand what he says always trying to find tune it. So if you have the find that veteran presence that can help you get over top such as PJ or Sanca sale and you do I know little tinkering roster moves or not the sexiest part of, you know, following the NBA for people. But when you have this impossible standard of the warriors existing possibly team of all time on paper just in terms of the roster, let's put together their war is one of the GM in the NBA who from the job has been like, no, I, I can try to take that almost came within a game of doing it last year. So I'm curious to see what he does this here. Position. Now that when a trade deadline comes and passes and you know that there's a second trade deadline is when everybody away right. There are team that all the elite guys that are cut or get by going to consider so that that perhaps. Guys, you can help if you're a guy getting cut and get bought out, is that one or two good players in that mix? Gerald, green did for them. You know he was. I'm not saying the Goshi hated that out..

"Maybe didn't finish up the way that we hope, that would you're gonna look back in a mistake like that and say you have it if the Celtics only had that one other guy if the Celtics only had. That one additional, score off the bench and we. Know how important guys like that are I mean go back to the, oh wait Celtics championship team he'll. Sandcastle whose best, days were well behind him they don't wanna championship that year with other contributions from sandcastle you, look at that team And you look at the contributions they got from guys, like PJ Brown and Leon pope these guys that around the. Edges of that team the answer Larry pieces those guys came up big in the playoffs those guys can, be difference makers in the playoffs, and ultimately here you had an opportunity to get a bona fide scored come off, your? Bench he was asking for that job, he wanted the bench role he wanted, to accept the two million dollars and Danny Ainge put the guy at hold and at the time that he put him. On hold he got the deal that. He was looking for, except he. Took it with the nuggets it pisses me off at angers me and I feel like Danny Ainge is going to catch zero heat whatsoever for this not saying that I was ever going to be the guy that he was, here before never going to happen those days are far far behind, him but at contending team a team that is hoping to try, and win a championship it'd mean to tell me. That Isaiah, Thomas couldn't be a, helpful, player Danny Ainge was. Wrong on this one and don't you don't have. To trust me you can just listen to what Michael Holly. Isaiah Thomas over his career Points per game versus Isaiah versus Kyrie Irving it's you could. Just be a runaway even if you say oh it's carry all day. Long you don't have numbers to support that is not a good argument it's a. Really good argument yeah I think it's I don't think it's that close What's it based, on, though not the numbers better. Overall player I think he plays with abroad James and those numbers. Are similar with Kyrie playing. With, LeBron James and, is Ahah playing with James young Again this is more about holding Danny Ainge accountable for the. Move that he didn't make here and again to buy the. Excuse that he couldn't afford Isaiah Thomas is veteran veteran minimum deal because he was too busy working up the contract situation with, Marcus smart you don't get those. Opportunities thrown your way all that often. And it's sorta like when my. Wife goes shopping and she. Knows we. Don't have a lot of money in the checking account but the sales. Were so good she just had to buy the clothes it's exactly the. Same thing here the sale. Was so good Danny age you had to, buy the clothes and you figure the finances out. Later you had to go buy the goods because, the sale was that good you figure it out. Later you get with a financial financial people later and you work through everything else at that point two million dollars, is eight Thomas off the. Bench and you don't sign him and he's calling, you, the, prettiest, girl the ball called. You and you let her? Down and she was going to. Work on the cheap doesn't make. Sense to me we'll talk about that as well as six one seven seven seven nine seven ninety three Seven I m Patrick Gilroy. This. Is late.

"How's. The interaction what did you see between coach Belichick and Tom all these stories that, come off all this friction I. Honestly, believe that is made up I came in there looking back, I'm like Hey got troubles to just like everybody else right right I get in. There and I've seen nothing. You know they're? They're interacting they're talking I don't I don't I, don't see any friction I believe they just make. Up these stories of put a team. Tighter closer together that's really all. It does Short-time. Patriot there James Harrison had a Cup of coffee with the team now he's an expert I was disappointed that he decided to retire I thought that he provided a little bit, of stability there I thought that he was still an, okay player and I would have liked the patriots to bring, back I like veteran guys on teams like the patriots, much, more so than young guys have, always been a, guy that if you're if you're contending for championships much like the conversation I just had with the previous caller with the Celtics like it's good that Jabari bird looks like he can play and the. Celtics have got guys like gear Sean Yabu Sally that looks like you can play and you know. They've got guys like that had a good summer, league two years ago that wind up coming in last year and. Proving that a second round pick, could, play and play for a very good. Team, there's. A difference between what the Celtics were last. Year and, what, they're trying. To be. Next year. What they. Were last year was a. Good story a good team that overachieved after the injuries to their star players next. Year they are in the Championship. Discussion the championship conversation and much like with the patriots. With the Celtics I. Trust young I trust older players that have. Been there before versus younger players I just do and that's. Why that oh eight team despite the fact that they got contributions all season long from younger guys when. The playoffs hit it was PJ Brown and Sam Casella coming off the bench much more so than the younger guys that had contributed during the regular season both PJ and Sam, Cassell saw their roles expand a little bit saw their, minutes pick up a little bit in the playoffs versus their, regular season minutes because when the playoffs come around you, want, veteran guys and that's sort of the role that, James Harrison had with team and I thought could have again for another year with this team to me it isn't a big loss but it's a lost it was a pickup that I liked put. It that way I liked the edge and the attitude that Harrison brought to the team last year. And it's refreshing to hear him say that he, feels like a lot of it is media created noise maybe that's what I've been doing tonight but For me I, simply look at. This patriots off season and compare contrast it two off seasons of past years past. And I look at, the, way in, which the patriots lost the Super Bowl last year and it is nothing like the way they lost previous Super Bowls it's not even close see other Super Bowls were lost and the players have to look at themselves they were lost, on fluky flays or underperforming players things like, that but now you've, actually got a, built in excuse and you didn't have a built in excuse that you. Could apply to a person in, years past you couldn't. Blame anybody for the David Tyree catch he couldn't it was defended, perfectly it was a fluky catch but it's human nature to want. To assign, blame and it's very easy, for these players to. Look at the coach and say you screwed up here you..

"Great fit PJ Brown. Was elated Yeah I'm Paul had a huge finals game against the. Lakers he was the star to the point, that of, course the very. Arrogant Phil Jackson didn't even know what his name. Was he called them poa poo or. Whatever he didn't want to even justify that the guy, existed but he ate up the. Lakers you need the full. Roster I, mean the full complement of. Players you can't just, say, okay starting, five starting, five let's, go you don't play really well against Golden State last year in the Western Conference. Finals PJ Tucker who's like, six five to forty looks like a football, player but he's a pain in the. Binding They're not people around. You need that if you, just go skill level to skill level and, good luck you can't you can't can't When, the patriots beat the Rams in the Super Bowl skill level, of skill the Rams, are far better you're not going to beat them but if you. Knock them around and Willie. Mcginest is Bank seven. Marks the patriots the patriots. By then rank each other much. More talented roster giants just. Had the tougher guys. Knock these guys down. You knock Steph. Curry down there's a little different vibe there the Cleveland couldn't do, that the. Last two years Got to be physical with that. The warriors team that's the, only way you can beat him, and I still don't think it's possible. To beat that team in a in a seven, game series but you at least give yourself a chance if, you, have a mix of the skill guys like Tatum like Kyrie. And sort of the whole defensive guys like. Smart like Morris that's the type. Of team you really need if. You're going to construct, a roster to compete with Golden. State so in talking about that the deal that Marcus smart signed I think it's beneficial for both sides I don't think it would have done the Celtics any any. Good to hold him over a barrel and say well the market says this is and then have be, pissed off he's going to. Be here for a while now, you have this young core he's grown up here in Boston, don't mistreat the player, had a good relationship with him have a good relationship with the. Agent and go forward poll. Question today is what. Will be a more impactful. Trade because we're gonna talk about. That next with Pete you. Nautilus up in Canada What will be a more impactful trade at John, F, twenty-five Kawai Leonard going to Toronto for demar the Rosen or. Manny Machado going to the dodgers at John. Twenty-five what will be a more. Impactful trade when we come back. We'll be joined by, Pete operas does broadcasting up in. "And for years it was joe joe white dana barros these guys that fans recognized we're happy to take pictures with fans and it's a role that's important to the celtics organization they always try to keep their guys around believe me rail and is a guy as well spoken as he is you can't tell me if he had left boston in a different way or if he had completed the rest of his career with the celtics by now i can tell you what he'd be doing he'd be working part time for nbc sports boston comcast sports net you can't tell me that he wouldn't be really really good as a color guy and they like to take place don't forget donny marshall did it for years now scall is is clearly being groomed to take over for tommy heinsohn someday ray allen would be elite at that but the celtics won't do that with ray doesn't have a place to call home think about that for a minute this is the best pure shooter in the history of the nba this is a two time nba champion he doesn't have a place to call home there isn't a team that is going to retire is number he didn't spend enough time in milwaukee the sonics are gone the celtics breakup was too ugly and he didn't spend enough time and he was a role player with the heat he doesn't have a place that he will forever be remembered for what he did on the court and that's his own fault because he could have limited his years in boston to the five that he played for the celtics and departed in a classier different manner and he could still come back to boston now that he's retired and it would feel like home ask any one of the players that played on that team from kendrick perkins to paul pierce to james posey and sandcastle and pj brown and leon po you talk about an ambassador leon po is that every celtics home game taking pictures hours before tip off with fans all right he's a guy that's going to live in celtic lore because he had a couple of great games in the playoffs and in the finals games well beyond his head he played well beyond his level right but he's a guy that will forever be remembered and have a home here in boston where the celtics want him around and fans enjoy having him around meanwhile ray allen the best to ever.
