"Thousand experience because when you go to the hospital with your blood alcohol that high. You're considered a suicide risk. So they put you in the psych ward after i wake up with like no shoelaces on my shoes and i had to stay there for a few days and then i had to pass evaluations. But when i got out like senile like devastated. My parents weren't everything. Oh sure i. I was ashamed. Like look i'm never. I'm never going to drink ever ever again. I went through a bunch of shit with this divorce. I'm just going to show you through my actions. We're not gonna have to wear this ever again that that was like seeing my mom and dad like that and and being enough. That was enough And i haven't drank since then. But i've been on a mission to get this shit back to where i wanted to being and i've been on the top of the hill for a while. Just looking down at all you need to do is get through this case. And i'm sprinting. Through when the case is done. Like i everyone that knows we know. Is there like when you're cases don. You're just going to be lying. But what's your prediction. I mean how. How does it you know you said earlier. You got a great team. Do you think it plays out where the company will always be there. Yes the company will be there. No matter what let. Let's say that. Worst case scenario that i have to go to jail for a little while. There's going to be people that know how to run the company and my dad was around the company. There's people involved they're gonna lose the face but people are going to pay attention to our products are just are just that damn. We put a lot into that. I still believe that justice will be served the right way and that we will come out on top and i've never for a second not fell. So yeah and you. You have to prepare for the worst. So we're prepared for the worst but it's going to be probably a five six week trial. We've got amazing expert witnesses. I'm sure they got whatever on their side. But you know we're ready to go from there. Everything's in place while i love. I love having you. How long have we been going now. Well over you don't have to whisper back there. Keller jesus so good is listen. I love having you thank you and i really appreciate you coming out and taking the time and i know everybody listening. That doesn't understand. This is a guy that managed to build something special and he didn't you know he came from a very similar upbringing. As i like to compare myself to and you can't you can never take that away from you. I'll say that it's you know you earn your your piece of the universe and no one can take that from you for the rest of your days. You have to i. I mean listen. I think you're on top regardless of when you go home and you sit in the dark and where you are. Because i think that that's an amazing journey and being able to build a business the way that you have and do the things that you've done i think is something that everybody should look to aspire to. Thank you and i honestly like i. I've known you for so long and you know what i'm about and you know you know me don't know me. They just know what this social media and so for me to see. How awesome that. You're doing with the podcast to i wanted to just come out here and hang out. No i love it and we had a really good time. But this was what i was the most. This got me out of the house. Really done shit since kobe shutdown..

"Very passionate about the chemistry and pharmacology part anyway and then i would have out piggyback blackstone products into into a lot of the natural thing that might be the future work owes because there hasn't been a brick and mortar store that's evolved national like. I think that's the way it goes. You just go in you. Get your blood work. You need this. That's over the county. You need that. That isn't that's how it's going to be. They have very very now. You're gonna pay a little bit more but they're very very thorough thorough blood panels. Now that can even tell you if you're low and omega threes. I mean they can. They can test for everything now. And then you know when you see these things. That aren't working the right way. You can supplement them in and then you can actually see the progress on your next bloodwork. And i've seen it happen with my cholesterol before. Where i had very my total. Cholesterol itself was low but my ratio my ratio. Hdl ldl was like five to one. Because i was that. Like let's say i had like one hundred and then twenty right so they're like you know you're not. You're not making enough of the good cholesterol for your body to work the way that you needed to. So i was like all right. Well you know. What i'm gonna do. Is i'm going to supplement with some different fish oil products and i'm going to take some ubiquitous and making those changes. I believe it was about three months later. I went gave it a little bit time. Went back in. I checked it out. And i had even things out a lot better and really with those numbers you know. I've gotten so deep into the charts with a lot of people don't even realize what they're supposed to be looking at but you're you're ratio. I spoke to a cardiologist. The radio the ratio of of of excuse me of cholesterol three two one is perfect right so some people get all freaked out..

"Have them all perfectly together in the right formula for everyone. So i'm so proud of that. So i can't go out here and say hey. Listen it'll get you off your insulin and everything like that. I can't make medical claims. But i can tell you that. There's we have a diabetic working for us. Who she she. That's how we met. She was like i. I actually cut my dosage of insulin and half by controlling my blood sugar with like log. It's not that important of a product to me so now you have people who are getting older. They're unhealthy eating like shit and instead of doctors having them clean up their lives. They're just telling them are. You're gonna take this metformin or you're gonna take this new diabetes medication that way you can still eat like shit and you'll you'll you'll live a little bit longer right and it's sad because those same people could use gleich log and not have to get into the medicine the right way and most likely be in the same spot. I've had a bunch of guys that have gone down that road. And obviously the best thing to do from there is make the changes to your exercise into your nutrition. Have people try to rip it off. Oh yeah there's a lot who. So here's the thing. When i haven't seen anything like it. There's a few companies that have products that are similar to it. that off. yeah there's probably like ten and you give a shit about now. I mean i don't wanna say their names anyway. 'cause i go and check them out. What i noticed was this is what's really tricky about this industry. Right unless you have like a single ingredient ingredient like if you come out with one ingredient that you can patent which my my partner has done that or a method of like the is technology hung how he is done with the dj stuff. You can patent. That of formula is almost impossible to pan without numerous studies and numerous doctors..

"Wound up not doing it for a couple more years And you see some of these girls like even the ones that don't even compete like the girl. Vivian winkler that's got like six million dollars. Whatever and then just have these ridiculous you know round butts and big legs like guys love that look. Women want to attain like all women these days like i make girls gym all the time. They're like i'm on my fourth booty day this week. You know what i mean. And so that division now has gotten my attention the most where the inaugural wellness division of the pittsburgh. Which is the president show. He actually reached out to me was like i know you love wellness so much. How'd you like to be the title sponsor love you know an our role wellness so i actually got to be the title sponsor. Of course i got frigging cova when that went down. I didn't get to go there and hand out the trophies but like those girls those are going to be the girls that you go see battle it out at the olympia this year and now it's all you know it's it's it's growing really fast and it's exciting. Yeah it's the women's divisions are loaded this just you the outpouring of what you see come in and compete is pretty crazy. So it's evolved a ton now blackstone you know came out with some revolutionary products. I want to get to that. Because i've enjoyed a ton of them and we were talking earlier about the fucking dynamite in an ultimate orange and everything else but you guys piggybacked off of that and came out with so many different innovations. That were unique. I i was a taker in a believer. Like log of all the different points in asia. I know you did a post the other day about it. I was looking at it. And i was like you know. Think of all the things. It's almost like they become your babies. Yeah like log has the product that i'm most proud of by far by far and i even even like through through two thousand nineteen into two thousand twenty one. I was really sick. I still never stopped taking my log and it requires more education for people to understand. Why if they get. Also you can't make medical claims you gotta be very careful about how how you market things but the reason that we developed like log was. I had a kid named the gorilla chemists working for me and it was brilliant. And i had i had a product formula. Nineteen that was. I was using it when i was competing. All of the big guys. We're taking fast acting insulin. When we were competing and we were load ourselves up with things like carbon post workouts. All the glycogen right. So i said he said to me one day he was. What do you think changed bodybuilding. The most was it like the g. H what i was like. Honestly it was. It was the insulin and the weightings insulin. I'm like because when i used insulin. I got myself from equality to sixty two equality tweety and you learn to do it the right way with fast acting insulin where you're maximizing the luggage and loading. You are getting better pumps..

"You can have a great physique and and know how to market yourself and take pictures on social media and you don't even have to get on stage ever have you can make bank like guys like bradley. Martin page hathaway. I saw her compete at. I believe nationals Many years ago. Back when i was competing. And she didn't even place in the top fifteen and then she went on to become like the most paid famous. You know female you know. Is it better though now that it's the fitness industry. And it's not just bodybuilding. That's a question i wanted to ask you. Is it better. Yes because fitness is humongous and bodybuilding. This small like microcosm so for me. I don't even. I don't even look at so people say blocks atlanta's the bible and company right in essence all of anything that you do to work out his bodybuilding Whether you're a bikini girl. I you know toning yourself. That's still bodybuilding so we we market to everybody in the gym. You know like like the bodybuilder crowd is is a small crowd. And i'm not really all that interested and that i mean that's that's my people of course but we market to the everyday jim or markets to the new people trying to make changes in their lives like that's where fitness is at now and those newbies. They're going to get into maybe cross it. Or maybe powerlifting or maybe they will decide that they want to get into bodybuilding but at all it all is encompassed by fitting right. And that's that's the big thing now. Fit bodybuilding has perhaps gone a lot smaller but fitness gun huge. Now i agree with that. I agree with what you just said. I think it's better to. And i think some old time bodybuilders hate the bradley martin types of those guys that come in and do that type shake it up and cause the spotlight i guess to to transition it causes you. Know what's been interesting in bodybuilding to watch the regional shows. The guys that are doing it right have really blown up some of the regional shows in the us in that arnold model where they have kind of like a sports spectacular. And that's kind of how shows of evolved and changed in you see more of the tried and true just bodybuilding shows like. I'm here just to see you know whatever they become more like pageants yes especially on the female side absolute one hundred percent. You have nine federations. There's four million pro card. Every girl has a pro card. You know so. That's changed the game tremendously and they create more of like a pageant atmosphere around. Well there and there's so many women that have gotten into fitness now so people say to me all the time they're like. Why do you market so aggressively to women. And i'm like because everybody has been marketing. The guys for years and easy part. You've got all of these. It's cool to have muscles now for like girls go to gym and they wanna have muscles they don't want like some pink bullshit product that they they kinda they kinda watered down. I guess the word to use his water down the women's division. Because now you have like you know the dana lens of the world. That can really change the game so so. It's not the emphasis on. I just want to get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger as a woman but it is cool now to be toned in shape and up. There is now. There's a place reverend. Because you've got the bikini division which twenty divisions you know small fitting toned and then you've got the wellness division. Which i freaking love well. This is my favorite because the wellness girls. Our girls with jack legs But their upper bodies our athletic and tight and they're not like. I hate to say it like this guys..

"The whole did for me Of course. I was reading the magazines but the first pro bodybuilders i ever saw in real life was two thousand three and my first show ever do that. Show natural actually. Just as i wanted to see like how it could be one hundred eighty nine last placed fifth and it was like i was like and then i was like now. I'm ready to do it. You know now. I'm ready to do it. I tortured myself for that show but the gas posers at that. Show two dozen three. Were ronnie coleman. Who's mr olympia and jay cutler. Ronnie was three thirty and jay was like two ninety five five hundred. And do they were. They were like it was in the tribeca performing arts center which was a really cool place for show. They don't ever do shit like that anymore and they came into the crowd. Everyone was going nuts. And i'd never seen anything like what when somebody's that big. Your reaction is just laugh like like you. You don't know what else to do. And so at the end of the day starved myself. And i didn't drink water. I started stopped drinking one on a thursday night right. Listen to this old school bodybuilder. So by saturday. I'm like majorly dehydrated. Yeah so we'd go out for pizza after the show and i actually fainted in the pizza. Place next thing you know like waking up in fucking ambulance. And i'm like no way i show my family's all here. I'm in an ambulance. I was severely dehydrated right. So they're they're trying to do all these tests to me this and that my mom opens up the thing and she goes. The nicest man is here and he wants to know. If you're okay. Do you want me to get them. And i was like no. I don't want you to get anybody. She was hanging out with your brother. His name is jay cutler. I'm like oh my god. Jay cutler embarrassed embarrassing. Let me get outta here. Do that was embarrassed. That and he likes scientist signs. Your cast dude. I just got in the car of the girl that i was dating and i left my family and and we went home so but after that like my parents said how awesome he was. Those guys were my favorite. But i respected that so much that my first show that i've ever won was his show in two thousand six now backstage and it was just a really cool moment for me to think like this is the first guy that i ever saw winning a show my first win and then years later you know. We're we're able to talk more and more shows and then now i'm going to see him today and i told you the story like i i had my first olympia booth in two thousand fourteen and i had a little I want. I want to make sure i get this on video and i do it too because i'm gonna make it a little bit gay and funny but So i was sitting there at ten by ten and he walks by and he looks at me and goes the hardest hardest working man the business right there and i was like how cool is that a j. You know like says something like that. And i go do it. I'm trying to make fax tax like bro. And he goes back into the ceiling and we all kind of laughed and he walked away like years. Later i always remembered him saying that stack into the ceiling. And so i had told the story to a bunch of people and one of the guys that told the story to was joe riser when he finally got the jay..

They may big money before they went bankrupt. I believe they had eighty million that And then they unfortunately went bankrupt. And i shared actually my partner jared them after that but yeah so when he started he was. It was like driving from to jim when he first started. Yeah the name which was like. Obviously i wasn't as good a bodybuilder rich gaspari but because of social media had a pretty strong name that was my whole thing was like i can do this and when i was managing in college i was managing. Gnc and i was like twenty years old. And that's when gaspari started getting really popular had super pump to fifty which everybody was buying and then they had a halley drawl. Which is the real real strong. Yeah came in the punch outs. It looked like it was like. I'm going to get ripped on this out. Which wound up being jupiter. All which which eventually then became band and then they have the nova next which is the really strong Theirs was six oxo in the beginning. Really strong antiandrogens. They had awesome awesome. Shit and i watched them start from like the little sketchy chef shelf at gnc. Catchy show yeah to be like this money fucker near lives in. That's sketchy show key. They add to get in there when he's had a key. There was security thousand that everybody was stealing work. There would steal. It was like yeah. I remember in. Gnc they had like the shelf and then it became like a behind the counter thing yup but before it was like in the back hit and it was like the dirty movie section in video rental place it was a you went back there and it was like that was when mark maguire got busted. It was like it was like what was it. Call one of the original Yeah and andro is that crazy and then the market blows up and everybody you know rich kind of paved the way lee came on with those. Rtd's those ready to drinks cleaner brand. But he made a huge. Yeah he's he's those rtd's kind of kind of kept him alive. Those are those are good. I've had a million of them in my life and i can't even drink protein drinks without gagging because they like the acid reflux no they came those little cardboard thing. He knows little cardboard things. But i I love it. I think it's i think it's a tremendous journey. What what you've done in. I believe it or not. I admire it so much from afar because they talk about it with this guy all the time. You don't see bodybuilding and shooting and very similar in a sense. People want want the perfect resume. They want you to be a nine time mr olympia. You can't have a supplement brand unless you do this. So i love and respect guys that come in and fuck that all up and disrupt it. It's it's like you can bill. Belichick never played it down in the nfl and he's the best coach that ever walked the planet absolutely so to me..

I went to a powerlifting. Meet one time. And i remember seeing people give each other beaten. I remember saying to the guy that ran. But i've been watching this stuff. Close i get out works. I deal with a lot of the accounts anyway. Shipping is like let me just take over the wholesale. And i said you know what at least i know. You're not going to screw me over right. And he took over the wholesale and now the wholesale is fifty percent of the company's business and people tell me all the time they're like. I love your dad. He's the best salesman i've ever worked with because he's not. He's not a pushy and annoying but he'll do whatever he can to make you happy and make sure that you feel good when you get your crazy product ideas to see Tell your nuts or now my dad my dad my dad is also like my biggest fan right so he he like even some of the shit that we do that gets us in lawsuits On styles on like he's warming up to it. He loves it. He thinks it's funny he just thinks it's it's a shame that the world is like that that you can't do so many like like silly funny thing right So for the most part. He's real supportive of most of the ideas that we have because a lot of the ideas that we have starts out as something that i think is funny. I know that actually you know what let's turn into product but the market this and have some fun with it. You know yeah. I always liked that. The out of the box ideas. I i was like. You know. e- everything you you would come out with Be like this is fucking awesome. "And i said i'd like you to come in and audit guys. Because i don't know about this but i try you so these guys didn't know as i now found out that some of the guys that were basically coming up to me and saying that they were overworked and underpaid. There were actually greatly overpaid and kind of lying about what they were doing because they wanted to make themselves seem more important. Because they figured that i didn't know busy doesn't equal productive. Exactly and i. And i was like so bummed out on mike men. They they actually like try to take advantage of me. So what i wound up doing was i had to shake things up one of the guys. I fired and i knew that i wasn't going the the ringleader set some really disrespectful stuff to my dad right in front of me and i knew after that. I'm like there's going to be able to get through this. Because my dad has been the most writer dai line worker for us on years and so when it was all said and done a cleaned out a bunch of guys i pretty much wiped out the moment and it was rough so what i want doing in the end was all the money that we saved. I was going over with my bookkeeper. And she's like you know. Your dad has never taken a raise. And i felt so fucking bad like. That's my dad rhino. And i'm like man you know they say like you always like forget the ones that you that you love the most so i was like. Let's just move all that over to his salary and she was like that's such an awesome idea because he'll do anything for you so when when it was all said and done all this bullshit that went through. That was really stressful. When it was all said and done. I was done with everything. My dad was like how you doing. And i was like good. And he goes jimmy. If he ever man he goes. Please don't hire any good friends. He's like they always please don't he was like they. Always fuck you over and you always do so much in. This happens every time. And i and i said to him i go. You know what i mean. I don't even need to have friends anymore at this point. I'm like i got. I got you. You're my best friend. And i gave him a hug and when i was leaving i go by the way i took the money that we saved on those kids and i put it into your salary and he like the way that i was hugging him in the way that he kind of like almost like he like excelled because she would never mind. I would never ask like that. And it was like. I knew that he was in have tears in his eyes. And i don't wanna cry in front of him. So i just walked out right away but it was able hours. I was so happy that was able to end so positive on all that now. We're in a really really good spot. It's it's hard. There's there's there's a scene in the movie But you only probably the only good scene in the movie In the the wall street to movie where where he bonuses the kid l. "Because i don't even know if we talked about this this this past six months year so was a really like hard time for me. First of all. I was sick with an autoimmune disease. We don't need to get into that right now. But i i saw so many changes in blackstone lambs and and there was a guy that was essentially like my partner running the show with me and he finally just broke down everything from the case and everything else. Who's like man. I'm just not happy anymore. Man it's just so it's so depressing being here and it's a stressful tar. And he was like. I'm getting really really depressed and i was like you know like i love the guy who was like my brother so i wanted him to work on his mental health. And i was like you know that this is what they want. You know like. You're you're letting them win. I'm like i won't let them. When i go some days i wake up and i'm like man i fucking hate my life now but i believe that i'm gonna win and i'm not going to back down in this. Like the fight is part of the journey right like there's always often. There's always going to be the fighting and it doesn't matter insert whatever enemy you want. There's always going to be the fight so you kind of have to take a little. You have to like that. You have to get up and you have to. Sometimes i say this all the time and it's not directed the situation but it speaks to it. You have to love being hated as much as being low. You almost have to love it more and we talked about this on my last podcast. I talked about. I'm tired of apologizing for the things that we celebrated michael jordan for right and i watched everyone that watches series. That's that's like us cried after after every episode and he was just a greatest winner of all time because he wouldn't accept anything less than fucking perfection..

"Shut us down to all the inventory. We had no idea why And so it took them three years to then make their indictments and now we've been in this position since then and so the following year when that happens we went from from inc. Five hundred hundred fastest growing company the united states to them taking all of our inventory. We have nothing to sell for months. We've got a thank god. My my partner jared we. He had it was rough timing on him because he he bought into the company because he was like he was manufacturing and he was like. I've never seen anybody grow right the way that you guys do. He he buys in and then that that happens to us after he actually saved the day by he. Fronted us all those products back and but it took a few months tomorrow. We get them all so we. We had to to downsize the company by about ten people. That was a rough year. I took myself off payroll just to try to keep people there for a year. And you know i'm not trying to pat myself on the back or anything like that but i love those guys. I felt like i was letting my brothers and you know and then eventually at the end of the year. My dad was like look. We gotta trim this company man. You can't just keep making making no pay. You gotta just let these guys go and so we turn the company down about ten people and we just started becoming way more efficient streamline and then we just kept coming up each year better and better and better and we've grown ourselves back up to from being bankrupt and almost bankrupt in two thousand seventeen to up since then actually almost one hundred percent. How's the case progress in now so finally We get to go to trial finally after all this time so it's been a long long road. I have maintained from the beginning. I still feel that..

Everybody's listen. there's one one. But it's i've i've heard a lot of you know. There's a lot of stories about different brands. But i think yours has held the test of time. And i think you've done a phenomenal job with it i Yeah well i mean a lot of our athletes have been with us for five years six years since the very beginning. And so my tagline all jeers always been loyalty is everything and anyone that comes blackstone. They always say. Listen if you if you're loyal to pj he's not gonna ask for a tremendous amount of stuff. Just just make your posts do your job and he'll go out of his way to take care of you and help you build your career and really. I love seeing the people that have been with me for a few years. Decide like hamid to go. Start my own company assefa. Rosie was one of them and south blew up and you know when when when we reached out to south he. I competed with south and he was so good right. And i was like man. You gotta get. I know that you like black domes products. Why don't you come out. We're starting this new your own line. While i said we're we're we're coming out of this new company prime. Why don't you come be one of the faces of that will all the blackstone stuff and we'll kick ass together and we had an amazing year. Everyone loved him and then going into the second year he came to me and he was like listen. I had a company that offered me ten grand month and said what we gotta do to get you to leave blackstone lens and i told him straight up i go..

"To me that caught my eye. Everybody was talking about it like all my younger friends that the first time they were ever at the olympia vegas to like she. Those girls in the red line booth see now. It's funny about jack's arc. Is you know he's upgraded now. He has like real dances row. Now he's he's really and he's given goal he's awesome so to me. I get a lot of flack for people being like. Oh you guys pushed x. Too much. But i when i was a kid. Oh i think they're way heavier than you when when i was a kid bank compared to black. Yeah i would. I would notch bang-up. Click it just you know. When i was a kid right it would be a picture of like jay cutler on the beach with like seven beautiful girls feeney's like grabbing his legs and arms would four purses jay. We d love. Jay so i always felt like as a young man. I enjoyed seeing that right. So then you had. The complete opposite side was like the universal nutrition side which always showed like the poor bodybuilder living in the dungeon like you know. My life sucks but doesn't matter. I'm a bodybuilder. I hated that. Martin fulltime bodybuilding marketing like. There's there's a lot of positive that can come from the mindset. You get from bodybuilding. The push yourself are so with our booths. We turned it into like party time at the blackstone booth. Like you're gonna come. You're going to see the coolest group of people cool ass athletes. They're gonna wanna talk to you mixed up with you. You're going to see some jack guys. You're going to see some dudes blow shit up. You're going to see some girls the biggest boobs you've ever seen and you're going to have a fun time. And that's that's how i always wanted to have. I wanted to have a party at the booth. otherwise it's just boring now. Running supplement company isn't easy and a lot of people don't under don't understand you know you're juggling chainsaws flaming chainsaws literally. Because you have all these going on. If you're not promoting your you're selling or you're trying to build bill deals and it's a lot of work it's never ending and what you built being a new england guy being you know somebody that really you know took all that energy that you were at one. Point putting into bodybuilding and into the business side of it and at the same time realizing not a lot of people can do this. A few people in bodybuilding history. That i've ever seen to this be understand. Hey you know what. I might not go this far in the sport. But i'm going to transition and do this the only person i could compare it to is Is what's his face that. Mc's the events thing now who's got a fucking crazy story Who sees the events was joe. Bob ciccarelli bob check. Yeah so bob check you know the story. He had the chance to compete in olympia and he turned it down while he he. He didn't give up getting his pro card until he was forty. Who finally cut. He knew he was never you know. So he transitioned and he became the voice of body mill. Essentially show for me like when i was young. My parents knew that. I was so into this right and i was like. I made the decision that i was gonna leave..

"I would call a story myself package everything myself and that that year we did one point two million and so after you die you made it. You'll like this is it. This is the komo now. And i was like. I'm gonna retire from coaching. This is how it's going to be. And so the following year. I had on my partner and we got into expanding now. Instagram was starting to become something right. Not gonna learn this frigging instagram shit. Too and so what we were doing. We were posting transformations and people using the products on instagram. And it started to really pick up so now you're three. We do nine point eight million right so we go from half of the year in two hundred k. One point to the second and then nine point now everyone's paying attention to and everybody wants to be a part of it so we decided that we needed to build this like cool affiliate program and i was like the only other company that i see doing like a smart ambassador program is i. Form guys are really really smart and i thought we could make this and this is no disrespect to them just a cooler version of what they're doing. We're kind of more in your face like rugged brand like i was working with adult stars. I was working with you. Know guys like you that are getting into blow and shit. Oh up so we didn't want to be like your mom's company wanted to be the aggressive hardcore quercia and i knew that that wasn't going to be like one hundred million dollars a year company. But i didn't care about that. I wanted the most bad company. That i was proud of that i could do for right so it got to a point where finally there was a dag matt over something and i just really like went off online over how i really felt about something and it got the most positive response and i was like you know what i guess that that.

"That i go. What are you still happy about. He goes dude. Bartolo taught me like three hundred ways to kill somebody with a swiss army knife. You could. he's awesome. I'll room with him. Every time. And i i can beautiful. What is was arming. I think it was a pencil so that that was cody's awesome. And that was like the beginnings of me. Getting to see. And i wanted to learn from you when i spend time with you because you've always done things out of the box when it comes to marketing so it was really from me a passion of learning and getting to absorb some of the things that you the principles that you push which which you create a unique family atmosphere. What your athletes. And it's a lot of fun it's kinda. I almost like an the boot the atmosphere to like almost like jamboree. If that doesn't sound too weird but it's like it's it's just a lot of fun and the energies good and you don't want to leave the booth. We never even talked about brakes now. That was the best part are fucking awesome. Our old well. It's still amazing. But in the old days before i went through my divorce i was like getting hammered. All the time right and then i had all that happen and i've been sober for three years but we used to have bottles of vodka in the back of the booth. Oh yeah our booth was like a party And so we always had. We always did a huge booth at the arnold. The olympia we had the giant prices prices right wheel And remember there would be a line two hours long. We always have one really really hot but this model like like being like vanna white manning the wheel right and so people would be waiting in line for like two hours and we walked down the line and be like. Hey what are you guys waiting in this line for and they'd be like we don't know we just wanna spend. That's that's the arnold in a nutshell. That's the arnold in olympia. Shot does on too far behind. But that's people wait in line six hours for a candy bar thing it's funny. They didn't even know they. Just the wheel. Was that big draw. The arnold the people have the arnold that run the show. They said you guys have the craziest booth that we've ever had. And i took a lot of pride in that because that's shows ri- big show and it was. It was unique because it drew people in and it was fun in. Nobody really cared about what. The prize was now because most of the prizes were like socks. It wasn't like anything super exciting one fifty dollar prize and there was like a couple of free per workouts right but most of it was just like socks stickers. Silly stuff like that so we get this awesome opportunity to work together and along the way it was so much fun because you get to meet everybody in the industry and like you said everybody likes to stop by the booth at some point. So that's a lot of fun What made you come up with some of those concepts and some of those ideas to be different to be to be out of the box like that. So the way that at all really started was i'll i'll do a cliff notes version of the history. I obviously started out as a bodybuilder. Right and i went to school. I don't offer a bunch of years. Didn't know what the how i wanted to do. I thought i was going to be a gynecologist at one point. Thank god i didn't do that right. I was gonna get into Henrik analogy but i gathered all of this different data data..

That doesn't know pg and i go back a while and I'm excited to have them. I consider a friend. I think he's done phenomenal things. In the fitness industry built a company from the ground up and done so much awesome work all around the business and everybody tends to know who blackstone is. Thank you thank you appreciate it. What do you want. What do you want to start with. Where do we begin. So i think people don't realize how far back we go. We both have northeast origins. We both grew up in the same area. And i worked for you. One point which was even even awesome. Yeah well what's what's really funny is going back even farther than that so my childhood. My childhood best friend jake astaldi. Who's actually done really well in life. He's a money manager. He's actually my financial adviser with. We'll have no money to advise me on anymore. But before i got my divorce he was the guy but he. He's very good and you worked with him. How did that start well. So it's funny so custodian. I we started out in finance together at mass mutual. Many many many moons ago one of my first jobs out of out of college and we did. Maybe three years together which was a lot of fun..
