"The NFL season heads into the home stretch while in the NBA the sun's incredible winning streak is broken And the Oklahoma City Thunder looks a little more like peeps in a game for the books this week Howard bride of meadowlark media joins us Good morning Howard Good morning Scott How are you I'm fine thank you my friend You're better than the thunder Well maybe I may be for just you know a few passing minutes They're a pretty good team when they're not losing by a hundred points But we'll get to that NFL season more than halfway over 6 games left let's start with the AFC patriots ravens Titans and the chiefs defending conference champs atop their divisions What stood out to you so far Well I think the thing that sticks out most really two things in the AFC one is that for the whole league nobody's really that good I think the biggest surprise in the AFC is the Patriots The fact that they are winning you've got a rookie quarterback and Mac Jones And you are a top year division You've got a huge game Monday night against buffalo I think the other big surprise is the fall of the Pittsburgh Steelers People are looking at finally it over for Ben Roethlisberger and this run of the Pittsburgh Steelers I think the vulnerability of the chiefs they look very very human this year And so nobody's that good Everybody is sort of still there And we'll see him You've got a 17 game season so you do have an extra game this year so it'll be really interesting to see who hangs in there And the NFC we've got the cowboys the pack the cards and the bucks Yeah I think that once again I think that everybody you don't look at this year and you say okay they're the team to beat And the Buccaneers are the defending champions but they are not a great team They're a good team They've got Tom Brady but they're a good team They're a very good team The Dallas Cowboys were supposed to be better than they are than they had a couple of really bad losses They got destroyed at home by the Denver Broncos They lost a bad game on Thanksgiving to the Raiders And so they're not that good The surprise team there that you think is really really good May very well be Arizona The cardinals might be the best team in that in that conference Do you think the rams are going to be better than they are So the bottom line with the NFL is number one nobody really stands out as a team to beat But Scott Simon like death taxes everything else The Lions haven't won a game They're just as terrible as they've always been They're even worse than the bears 16 game season 17 game season They're still owed ten and one Let's get basketball quickly The sun's 18 game winning streaks mapped by the golden shake warriors last night when 18 to 96 but it had all the excitement of a championship season didn't it Yeah fun stuff really fun week for basketball simply because the Phoenix Suns get to the NBA Finals They lose to Milwaukee last year There's a question as to whether or not this was sort of a surprise surprise finals appearance They're really good They're really good They may very well be the best team in the NBA even though Milwaukee still really good And great to see Golden State back Great to see Steph Curry and Steve Kerr and Steve Kerr's team playing really great You're going to get Klay Thompson back as well And if you like basketball like I do when it's the beautiful game when it's passed when they're when they're moving the ball Nobody plays team basketball like Golden State and it looks like we're gonna have a really good rivalry this year between Phoenix and Golden State because the one thing that Phoenix really does well is that they're long they play really good defense and boy those two teams played each other this week And if that's a preview of what we're going to get come spring time I'm all for it So 5 seconds what happened One 52 to 79 73 point margin Oklahoma City It's under numbers All I can say is it's probably the one time that Seattle was glad that they didn't have them We'd probably thank so much My pleasure's got Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel is set to leave the political stage next week Mark the end of 16 years in office the military through her ceremony known as a grand tattoo on Thursday the gastronaut to choose the music and as me Nicholson reports from Berlin The Chancellor's idiosyncratic playlist was the talk.

Democrats Go on the Offense With Biden's Agenda

"Christian cinema is the subject of Selena zito's latest column in the New York Post and it's a terrific one. Selena joined me from Pittsburgh also in morning after a football lost this weekend, like the browns. Good morning, Selena, happy November 30th, to 29th to. Good morning, happy November 29th year as well. You know, I am very beleaguered by the browns lost late last night to the ravens the Steelers got blown out. We are both not likely to go to the playoffs, though it's possible for the browns. I don't think it's possible for the Steelers anymore. So you might be depressed, but I like your cinema piece because I read a lot of the build back better Texas this weekend. I'm up to page 800. It's a nightmare for Democrats. Yeah. I mean, I haven't been that diligent in reading it because I've fall asleep. But I completely agree with you. There's so much in there. And, you know, it's really interesting, I think, to me, here in western Pennsylvania, the amount of ads being run by Democrat affiliate organizations that would side with the Democrats pushing them not only to vote for this, but also to make more amendments to add more things. And I'm just sort of stunned. Watching these ads call senators Casey. Make sure he adds this to build that

What's Actually in the House-Passed Build Back Better Bill?

"So what is in this bill? This is according to breitbart dot com. They do a wonderful job. House passes behemoth build back better act. Funds, Biden's banking surveillance apparatus, the bill would spend $500 million to hire new Department of Justice tax division surveillance agents to bring civil and criminal cases against Americans if we're not rating enough homes right now. It removes any prohibition regarding Uyghur Muslims in China, Democrats have removed the provision of the previous draft that would have prohibited any funding, provided by title and science spacer technology award a contract subcontract grant or loan to an entity involved with using the forced labor of Uighur Muslims. How about tax pork for trial lawyers? This provision modifies current law expensing rules to allow plaintiff's attorneys to deduct out of pocket litigation costs in the year they are incurred. How about number 6? This is a fun one. The build back better act would add language, creating a tax credit for wages paid to journalists. That's what we need. We need more New York Times reporters. The bill would add $500 million. $500 million. That's the annual operating budget of Pittsburgh every single year to give you an idea. The whole city. For schools of medicine, prioritizing funding, based on racial demographics, and requiring faculty to be hired and students be recruited based on prioritizing racial and demographic characteristics. How about left wing divisive race baiting? This bill with add back language that continues the race baiting attempts. As Americans is oppressive claiming all minorities are denied a full opportunity to participate in the American way of life that's a direct quote out of the bill. That all minorities are denied a full opportunity from participating in American life. There's $2.5 billion for tree equity. It'd be a $2.5 billion slush fund that would send taxpayer dollars to radical environmental groups to plant trees and advance tree equity. The bill asks for hundreds of millions of dollars to promote funding for racism and discrimination training curriculum, funding for healthcare risk training to promote the lips climate agenda and refers to pregnant women as

Marc Morano: Most Countries Are in It for the 'Cold Climate Cash'

"Welcome back to the man who told me more than anybody else about the climate hoax, Mark marano. I wrote about it, that moment in my second book why we fight. I have a photograph from the back of the rose garden for me. It had nothing to do with my remit national security. But it was my proudest moment in The White House when president Trump stood up in the rose garden, beautiful sunny June day, pulled us out of the Paris climate treaty called because it wasn't a treaty and said that the famous line that will echo down through the ages. I was elected by the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris, you're damn right. That's why the president removed us. The fact is, these things are absurd because they punish us and we are even cleaner today now thanks to president Trump than the requirements of the Paris accord, demanded of us whilst others like China and Russia are either unaffected unlimited or Mark. They get money from us to continue polluting. Am I missing something here? No, you're absolutely right. These countries are eager to come to the United Nations climate summit. So much so that they lifted the vaccine COVID vaccine mandate in Scotland. No, this is anywhere else you travel in Europe. You've got to have a 7 day at least in the U countries. You have to have a 7 day quarantine or 8 day quarantine, but they lifted it because they want these countries to come in because the only way they can entice them is with cold, hard cash. Of course, filtered through the United Nations. And the United Nations is seeking to pay the countries in the developing world who are best able to keep their citizens locked in poverty. This money will go to the leaders of these countries, not to do anything for the environment or to help their people. It's going to end up helping these leaders get reelected, building monuments, stadiums, ensuring their political machines are well funded. The UN knows politics. They are experts. They're not climate experts, but they're political experts. And this is the reason that you see all of these countries. In fact, the highest participation rates of these UN summits are usually African nations because they know the reason they're drawn there is the UN has offers of cold climate cash to go to these leaders around

"My head. One is a logo that was made by a graphic designer named Tim Hindus who took the Pittsburgh Steelers logo and replaced the yellow hypo cycloid, which is kind of like a diamond, but it's actually called a hypocycloid. And he replaced it with a star of David, so you have the red and blue steelers elements and then a yellow star of David. At the top, and then he put in the words stronger than hate, and that became sort of like the poster. People were holding it up at steelers games the next day. You can still see it in the storefronts along Forbes and Murray in the squirrel hill commercial corridor. That was number one. Number two, there was beautiful public art in the windows of that Starbucks on Forbes. A Roman Catholic artist painted the words a hava, tikva, press it, love, hope, loving kindness. Along with a dove and a tree of life and a star of David, in the windows on that Starbucks. And people can still walk by and see this Hebrew script. But the third one, and the one that I want to tell you about now is this Hebrew headline. This was a big moment for Pittsburgh's journalist. Maybe the biggest they'd had in years. Among the most important of those journalists was David shribman, who, for more than a decade, had been editor of the Pittsburgh post gazette. This was a guy with a long career. He'd been at The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe where he won a Pulitzer some years ago. And he had this idea. He wanted to do something that I think had never been done before in the history of English language newspapers. He wanted to run a Hebrew headline across the top of page a one. There were all these rabbis in town. And we don't have people fought. So I called wherever Gibson, James Gibbs. And I said, you know, I need the first four words of cottage. And Hebrew. And he asked why in the survived what I'm going to do, and he sent to me. Rabbi Gibson, who was rabbi at temple Sinai, sent shribman the text of the mourners cottage or the first line. It could all be ashamed of. Now that ribbon had the Hebrew text, would he really run this headline? Was it a good idea? He asked some people, including some rabbis. Would this be offensive or would this be okay? And people said it would be okay. But Friedman knew that a lot of his audience wouldn't really get it. After all, Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania and the whole circulation area of the post gazette, which reaches down into West Virginia, is not actually that Jewish an area. It's not like The New York Times where the readership is Jewish or sort of Jew adjacent. This is western Pennsylvania, and how would people feel about seeing this big bizarre script across the fold in the paper? But shriven forged ahead. He sent the text to the paper's design editor, and he even got in on the design act himself. And she saw it. I wanted a little bit bigger and a little more white space and we fooled with it. It was the most hands on thing I've done in years. They finished the layout, but sriman kept it to himself. I didn't show it to anyone for fear that they would be pressure to kill it. Now Friedman, who no longer works at the post gazette was very discreet about how he discussed all the dealings that went on. But my inference was that he feared there was some repercussions about keeping the headline a secret from others in management or ownership. Nevertheless, he went ahead and sent the paper off to the presses. I left the office knowing that the morning paper would have that hippo headlight. I felt I had done my duty for Pittsburgh. I had done my jury for the post gazette. And that my yoke work here was complete. The next day when the paper came out, everyone saw it. It hit British newspapers, Australia around the world, almost immediately. It was a sensation. It was one of those headlines like the famous incorrect Dewey defeats Truman headline that now is one of the headlines that people think about when they think about why you want to hold a newspaper in your hand and not just see it on a tiny smartphone. In the end, this was one of shipman's last significant acts at the paper. He led the newspaper's coverage of the immediate aftermath of the tree of life shooting. And guess what? He ended up with his second Pulitzer. But pretty.

"Doing all the serious things. The tahara, the preparation for the burials, the preparation for Trump's visit, the protests and counter protests. But it wasn't just the adults. It was the young people in Pittsburgh, who also felt they had to do something. Who also had this sense that they couldn't just sit still. One of those young people was Emily pressman. She was a student at altered as high school, which is like the public school in squirrel hill. If you meet people from the Pittsburgh Diaspora, particularly if they're Jewish, you can pretty much say to them, oh, did you go to alternate? What year? And they'll tell you their year at older dice. The morning of the attack, she was out of town at a debate tournament in the suburbs. And like Tammy habs, when we heard about earlier encountering the crosses for losses guy, she learned what was going on by text. After she heard what was going on, she wanted to leave the debate tournament immediately. But her mom told her to hold on, wait, not to come back to sport hill yet. Eventually, however, a couple hours later, she left the tournament went home and turned on the news. And I sat down on my couch and I heard them pronounce this happened on the corner of north umbrella straight. I'm like, nothing. What the hell that's not how you pronounce my street name? And this is the world listening to them saying north, Cumberland. I'm like, holy shit, that's where I live. I called my best friend Marina. And said, what are you doing right now? She's like, oh, I'm helping playing the vigil with some people. I said, where are you? I'm on my way. Emily's friend was at Starbucks. Now, there are two Starbucks in squirrel hill, so for those of you who are locals, I'll tell you, this is the one on Forbes avenue, not unmarried. This is like kind of the bigger, more central Starbucks. And like every Starbucks you've ever been in, it has that one long, Bigtable in the middle, the communal table. And there was about 12 of us sitting around that table and while this was happening, squirrel hill was a dust town. I've never seen this area so quiet. No one knew how to react. It was terrified. Emily sat there with about a dozen of her classmates and tried to do something about that silence. They did all the work that's needed for a vigil, they decided something's happening that night. They're going to make it happen. They bought candles, they coordinated with other groups, they found a microphone they found a stage, they found a song leader to lead songs that night. And they began to get the word out. They wanted other people to know that they would be at the main intersection at Forbes and Murray. That night. Now, their biggest task was not figuring out how many candles to buy or anything kind of tangible or material like that. Rather, it was deciding what kind of vigil they wanted to hold. And Emily had an idea. She knew exactly what to do. After all, it was Saturday. It was Shabbat. We wanted to have a hot dolla, because it was happening on Saturdays, so we wanted everyone who wanted to be there to be there. So being the most religious of the group. I was actually the one who was like, there should be a service. There should be at this time. Some people were like, we should make this about gun violence. I was like, this is not the time for that. This was an act of violence. Against a religion. That's what this was. So we made sure that was clear. Some people smoke and it was just something to get for the community together. We said this Abdullah, if you know the tunes of the songs,.

"Bodies into the ground as soon as possible. So these are more or less secret societies made up entirely of volunteers. But they come when called at any hour of the day. Actually, they have two functions. Many of the people in the holy society function as showmen or guards who just make sure the bodies are never left unattended from the time that they are transported away from the scene of the death all the way until they are put in the ground. It is Jewish tradition that the body always have people nearby. So some people act as shown ring, while other members of the February, do that intimate work of cleansing the body and putting it in the Shroud for burial. Two of the men inside tree of life on that fateful morning were members of one of Pittsburgh's two holy societies. Dan leger and Jerry witz had both been early on longtime members of the new community February kadisha, which unlike the other holy society included members of the non orthodox community. Dan and Jerry were already inside tree of life when the shooting started, and when they heard the gunfire, they started running. Dan's a nurse, and Jerry was a doctor. And they thought they could help. They both got shot. And Jen lager remembers being carried out of the synagogue, being wheeled into the hospital. And then, things went black. What happened next, he shared in this memory at a dinner for the new community fever khadisha some months after the shooting. Now, the recording isn't great, and you can hear me furiously scribbling notes, but I think it's worth hearing this memory delivered by Dan. I remember being in a place.

"Curious about what he had in his truck. Now, here I'll turn to my book where I describe what happened when Tammy hebb's bumped into Greg zanis. As hebb's remembered it, she looked into zanis truck and saw a pile of crosses in the back. They were all white and on a quick count she decided that there were 11 of them. As soon as she grasped what she was seeing, she was incensed. I thought to myself, you have got to be fucking kidding me. Perhaps remembered. And I looked around, and no one else was there, and I thought, if I have to be the one to tell him he can't put crosses on the synagogue, I will be the one to tell him, he can't put crosses on the synagogue. Hebb's had no idea who this guy was with this kind of nerve. As she was figuring out what to say to him, trying to keep her cool, she saw. On the front seat of his truck, a pile of wooden 6 pointed stars. She was relieved. I thought, okay, what will happen here is he's going to put stars of David on the crosses and it will be okay. She remembered. Zanis got out on the driver's side of the truck and approached her. She looked him up and down, he was tired, unshaven. Old. Why was he doing here? We already come from. Then she looked down and saw his hands and it was as if something became clear. I saw his hands were covered in white paint, helps remembered. It's like he painted these things overnight and didn't even have time to wash his hands. He told me his intention. He said to me, I made these things, got in my truck and drove 9 hours. There was white paint on his hands. He said to me, I've been driving the whole time. I don't even know the names that people who died. I have to write their names on the stars. And then perhaps knew what she had to do. Her mother had emailed her the full list of the dead that morning. So she had the names on her phone. Or in Hebrew, baroque bayana. And one 11 people are slaughtered, we say it 11 times Joyce feinberg. Richard gottfried. Rose mallinger. Gary ribbon of wits. He saw Rosenthal. David Rosenthal. Simon. Sylvan Simon. Daniel Stein. Melvin wax. Or younger. I brought up this list, she said. And he said to me, can you please write the names in my notebook? And he handed me a pen and his notebook, and I was shaking as I copied these names into his notebook. I have terrible handwriting. So he could write the names on the stars. When heps had written down all 11 names, she gave zanis notebook back to him. Now she had a question. I said to him, why do you do this? He said that there had been gun violence in his family, and this was his response. He said, do you remember Parkland? I did that one. Do you remember Columbine? I did that one, too. It had never occurred to me, Tammy hebb said that it was one person who had made it his life's work to drive around the country and do this. And at that moment, I realized we are just another one on the list. Now that day, Greg zanis nailed those stars of David to his crosses, he painted on the 11 names. And then he asked two orthodox Jewish men who were walking by. If they would place them on the synagogue property, they did. And they stayed there for a long time until they were moved inside the synagogue where last I checked, you could still see them through glass doors. Okay, Greg zanis crosses for losses or in.

"The audio you just heard is from three years ago. October 27th, 2018, a Sabbath morning three years ago. That's a wild thing to say. Three years. I mean, when I think of what that's been in my life, my baby son was only a month and a half old when that happened. And now he's chattering away at dinner and telling us that he wants to help us find a better recipe for tomorrow. That's his new word recipe. Three years is a crazy amount of time in life, and it's also a crazy amount of time for a sad event because it feels still so fresh for the people who are close to it. And yet the memories are blurring and for people who weren't close to it, well, it feels like a really long time ago. But we had unorthodox want to do something about that. We want to pull it close again. And when I say we, I mean, the whole team, I mean, my colleagues, Stephanie, and liel, who went down there three years ago down to Pittsburgh, and produced that special episode that we aired 48 hours later. But of course, I don't just mean we. I also frankly mean me because when I first heard about the attack, sitting outside a synagogue in Newton, Massachusetts, where I had traveled to take my oldest daughter to a bat mitzvah of a summer camp friend. When I heard about the attack, it really hit close to home. When I read that it was in squirrel hill, I mean, that was my family's squirrel hill. That was the Jewish neighborhood that's been substantively Jewish about a third Jewish for a century. Where my family has lived for that entire time. My dad was a 5th generation pittsburger and a third generation squirrel hill resident. His family was there since about World War I. His family was there, as long as anybody was in squirrel hill. And growing up, we'd visit occasionally, but more than that, I would hear the stories. I would hear the family lore. Of what it was growing up. In the 1950s and 60s in this little Jewish Eden, where the doors were always left unlocked, were car doors were open with the keys in the ignition, where no one hurt anybody, except maybe your skin your knee when you were playing ball in the street, it was that kind of place. And I grew up with the knowledge that my dad had been nurtured by that kind of place. So when I heard that the worst anti semitic attack in American history had come to a place that was as safe for Jews as anywhere in America, maybe anywhere in the world, I knew that we had to go back. So first we went back for that special podcast episode. But then I kept going. Starting in November, I went to Pittsburgh 32 times over the next year and a half. My last trip to Pittsburgh was in March of 2020 just as COVID was descending on the country and the world. But I'd already been plenty by that point. I've been going and taking notes and recording interviews. I'd been walking those streets Forbes and Murray avenues, Wilkins and shady and beechwood, Darlington, I had talked to about 250 people. And I knew by that point that the book I was going to write, the book that is now just out squirrel hill, the tree of life synagogue shooting and the soul of a neighborhood, was going to be about hope. Now, that last part might surprise you, right? I mean, I would tell people I was writing about squirrel hill or tree of life, and they'd always say, that must be so sad. But the truth is that while this was a sad story, and I heard so many sad stories about that day. It was actually a hopeful book to write. My reporting often left me even elated. I always say cheered, it cheered me, even when it was sad. Because what I was reporting on, I realized was the way that a neighborhood can be a protagonist. That the people I met in this neighborhood because they lived in proximity to each other and knew each other and their families had known each other for generations, were uniquely poised to come through for each other. That the ties that bind a neighborhood together are real and visible and touchable and not just blew me away..

The Investigation Into Wisconsin's Election Is More Critical Than Ever

"Of the 25 grants CTCL provided to cities and counties in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia, that were a $1 million or larger, 23 of the 25 grants went to areas that Biden won in 2020. One of the two counties won by Trump, Brown county Wisconsin, received about 1.1 million that's less than 1.2% of the 87 and a half million that CTCL provided to those top 25 recipients. But even in Brown county Wisconsin, where heavily Democrat, Green Bay is located, the funding disparities are glaring, the Wisconsin legislature provided roughly $7 per voter to the city of Green Bay to manage the 2020 elections, rural counties in Wisconsin received approximately $4 per voter. The CTCL funds boosted Democrat voting Green Bay resources to $47 per voter while most rural areas still have the same $4 per voter. And similar funding disparities occurred near Detroit, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Flint, Michigan, Dallas, Houston, and other cities that received tens of millions of dollars of CTCL money. I think what's important William to remember here and to point out is what happened in the areas that did not get CTCL funding as I understand it from your study from your research, the numbers stayed pretty consistent, very consistent to what happened in 2016.

This is a raiders runaway. Victory to hurt percent socks to a hurt sucks to. You'll see who plays there. But i think there's going to be a runaway game. If derek carr is healthy am i survivor week. Yes after two weeks. I'm steering at baby. Couldn't say after week one last year. I'm rolling baby anyways. If car practices by thursday. I'm picking areas may survivor have when the last time i've done that i feel like this is the time so yesterday gruden said hey look garrett cards questionable right now if an ankle heard it against the steelers bad things in play but he just seems concerned about. It would be really really surprised. Eric doesn't play unless unless you woke up monday morning and it was really bad. He didn't went back on it after he got hurt. It was really wild because when he got banged up after that touchdown pass to moro. Hit look like holy. I mean guys around him. It had the it was a scene of something bad. It works like christmas eve. Two thousand sixteen and as with brands as we of course working by the job i can do on game day. I could be with friends and my wife is raider fan and it was just after halftime. And i had my little hamburger in a frigging lettuce. Wrap for seventy ever done that. I'm i'm losing weight here and it was good so i'm sitting there and it's like holy god. God you know my whole days changed. My whole week is changed. The raiders whole season is changed. Who cares about my day my week. This team seasons change and then he gets these cool tough guy under atef guide her player. Course any finish thing look good remember. This guy got hurt against the chargers and then played against the dolphins nine days later. I think he's gonna play again. Don't take that to the bank. Just my gut feeling at this point. It's tuesday afternoon things can change. But i'd be really surprised they're occurs. Maybe just jacobs dozen but things are things good. Thanks good words may be pregnant. You know i think interrupts where he's gonna be you know eighteen games into his career idea define him. I don't know. But i think he's going to be a guy who's not going to be a number one who's gonna be inconsistent is disappear some games but there's also going gonna be times when he makes really big points and we've already seen that we side against pittsburgh. Is it worth the number twelve overall pick. I don't know but there there's some value there I think we know who is going to be but yeah it was a really exciting when they played complete football and they deserve to win that game. Ben rosberg about the ways cook. He's shit adds to bad car. Hoffer shit but it's over for him. He stated the steelers shooter. Shooter ended that relationship after last season. It looks like i don't know if i'm completely sold on the defense my head to see more but going pretty good. Everything is going really good and the raider nation right now. I mean really really good yes injuries. We're talking about that but there's injuries everywhere. I mean the raiders have been the less injured team in both these games. But don't apologize for but things are going really well offense scoring playing well derek cards point. Mvp revel for you know early stages Defense looks timely. Pass rushes their coverages. They're young guys are coming into their own. I mean it's going really freaky well. The chiefs last. The chargers lost one of those two teams is gonna lose this week because they play each each other. The broncos are a fraud. I think things are going freaking. Well they have two wins against. They may be in the playoff line. Things you go and freaking. It's unbelievable.

When i grew up in new england you could just walk outside and look up and see the milky way. But when i arrived in pittsburgh the sky had started to decline in quality. Still she says at the time her students at carnegie mellon university were very familiar with the milky way they knew about stars and constellations. That is not the case anymore forty years later. I have to explain what the milky way is and describe what it looks like in a show pictures and they think those pictures are fake. Because of light pollution major constellations can be totally invisible in cities. The pittsburgh city council is now trying to do something about it with the help of scientists like turn check. It passed a dark sky. Ordinance last week to reduce light pollution. This city is going to replace streetlights with warm tone. What the washington games down to six and a half in fact i'm gonna pull it up right now to make sure that the sites that i frequent including mybookie and gambit and all others that that's where it is right now yes six and a half is the line. I can't find seven anywhere. i'm not giving washington out. I give them out as a lean if you force me to play the game. I'd play washington plus the number. There is a shitload of of sharp money on washington in in this game. This line at one point was ten ten and a half. You know it's the steelers on the short week. It's the health issues with pittsburgh. It's the fact that for them to non conference game. It's not as crucial as some of their games coming up washington's playing well but I did talk to somebody over the weekend. And i said why the big drop and my guy told me. He said a lot of sharp's love washington right now. They think they're a good team So that's it plus six and a half if you are going to play it by by the half point two plus seven. The smell test added play on a six six weekend. Is san francisco minus one lot of sharp money on the forty niners lot of public money on buffalo. I'll take the forty niners. in In an extra smell test pick like washington. I would lean washington but the official play san francisco and kalihi. If you look at the forty niners they really now have a chance you know with the seahawks losing with the cardinals. Losing to the rams the forty niners of already beaten the rams once On the year actually twice they swept the rams they got a chance here to make a run not just that a wildcard spot but to make a run at the division and for them it starts tonight if they can beat buffalo they look at washington the cowboys in the cardinals before finishing with the seahawks would give them a chance to actually make a big run back into contention in the nfc west and certainly in the wildcard races. Well do you like either. One of these games i do. I don't really want to pick either one of these games. Because i actually like buffalo okay.

"Just stop for a second. Explain to me why you continue to say that. Cleveland's up and down or that cleveland's cleveland with the maybe not. They're really pretty good. They were really impressive yesterday. I actually well. here's why. Because they barely beat the eagles. They apparently meet the jags. They barely beat the texans. They lost you know they've had some results where you're like you know no three. They are ninety three first time since nineteen ninety four. Think the saints are legitimately. Good in defense. I was dead wrong about them. Whenever i told you i wasn't a big fan of the saints. They're proving that they were legitimately good on defense. We think they have the players to be keep in mind their their winning streak. You know i mean they. They crushed the box. That was the most impressive. it's it's their defense. I mean their defense is outstanding. doubt the same hill. Well i mean he's terrible getting better. What's that game and better. I kinda like. I mean if if if we weren't in the division race in we were out of it which is typically the case on december seventh by the way This is a day that will live in infamy and Quick you know obvious recognition for all of those that fought and served and kept our way of life in the nineteen th from nine hundred forty one and nineteen forty five. The it's it's amazing. It's so it's it's nine hundred forty one which would be fifty nine hundred seventy nine years ago today The attack on pearl harbor so next year and eighty year anniversary. God that's a long time now like i. I'm old enough to remember like oh it's the fifty year anniversary of pearl harbor. You know in nineteen ninety one like that's a really big deal but now that's nine years ago. Anyway i digress. I like the giants if if if washington weren't in this hunt. I'd actually be somewhat rooting for them to go and represent division and create some havoc in the postseason and and they're good enough with daniel jones to be a problem. I think in the nfc post-season. I do. yeah. I think they're good enough with daniel jones but i think the the thing that he started to see stand out for the with the giants as they make this stretches. It's because they're relying on daniel jones. They have a good defense and they run the ball now when football games in december and that wins football games in january and they're figuring that out that they struggled running ball early in the season i think for getting better upfront pushing people around a little bit and the defense has started to figure some things out. They have enough of a formula to win playoff and we continue to say this weekend week out. There's a lot of teams. You're not sure of in the nfc in it's just i think it's it's proven out that way to me. I like i like right now. I think the rams and the saints. I just don't see it from anybody else. God you love the rams and they were impressive yesterday against the team. That's really.

"Seattle and looking good Defensively doing in washington and pittsburgh coming up. We're going to try to get this thing out quickly for you guys. We're going to do a little bit on the games yesterday. We're going to do. Our washington wins. If i've got an updated smell test selection for one of two tonight's game one of the two games tonight and We'll move through this but let's real quickly start with the giants winning at seattle with colt mccoy as quarterback coolly. That defense. i. I think and i think i've been on this a little bit that i thought the giants were much better than their record indicated. I thought they were playing well. I thought there was a certain level of toughness with joe judge in the team yet with colt mccoy at quarterback. This was supposed to feed into man. Everything's breaking right for washington. Colt mccoy doesn't do much. their defense. does wayne gaughman does and what it means now. Is that the giants really are in the driver's seat to win this division in a game that looked like it would have just been icing on the cake today. At five o'clock in pittsburgh you know if washington won the game now is borderline half to have it The giants at five and seven. If they win two more games that means washington's gotta go eight. Nate which would mean four of their final five. That doesn't seem very likely Anyway shocker be In seattle yesterday eleven point dog. I didn't think they had a chance. Not with cole. Mccoy a quarterback. I think it was the upset of the year. Certainly one of them on the nfl. It's the most important upset. So.

"Are see. We are forced to listen to quarterback so often in the world of nfl analysis. So i just wanna thank you for helping lead. The db revolution espn daily. Why does this happen. You guys finally invited me or it's your time man your old team. The steelers are right now. Undefeated and that is surprising. Let's be honest to a lot of people. So how surprising is it though to you. I think it's it's. It's more surprising when you actually watch the games <hes>. It's obviously surprising. Anytime team goes through more than half of the season and their undefeated. But when you watch the steelers play the second half against tennessee titans even watching them to send the backup quarterback gets the denver broncos or be dominated upfront defensively the way they were against the baltimore ravens but still be undefeated. I think that's the fascinating part is not just that they've managed to win. Every game is just inside of those games. you seen opportunities for them to lose. But they've made the place that they've to. I mean you can even look at a match up against the dallas cowboys and say you know gary gilbert and the dallas cowboys may have deserve to win that game. But that's what this lied about was going to come down to one possession games. He's gonna come our critical situation though football moments and at least it does far. The steelers have found answers to any questions in those important moments. And this is why you sit undefeated. So how does this defense stack up. Ryan versus the steeler defense. Is that you played for that. You helped lead. What are the holes in this defense. You know what. I don't think they necessarily have holes in the sense of of those things being a negative right. He's looking to make a rush. The passer with just for the obviously can bring bring pressure make fitzpatrick ultimate playmaker on the back end and i think they have really good corners. But they don't have that great court but when you all those things together i think you get one of the top defense in the league especially when it comes to pressure and turning the ball over we. That's what football is right. Like people aren't going to hold you. Thirteen points like we did wait. Like that's not the ball we play it. You can't intimidate people like i would get fined and kicked out of every game. Five play james harrison fell six million dollars a year. You can't do those things anymore. But if you could get the ball which the pittsburgh steelers do know that really helps and that's why this team world season. Well i wanna get into the difference between playing football then versus now especially because offense is king these days as you implied right there so the defense is the big reason. The steelers are undefeated. The offense though i mean they've been relatively relatively average so can eighteen built around defense. Like the steelers are ryan. Can that sort of team win in the modern nfl. I believe they can. I believe they can. Because if you look at the individual weapons offensively like they are extremely. good <hes>. I think you you're missing that one running back piece but we look at pool. Smith schuster the johnson. Eric ebron like that's a skill set or skill position that a lot of teams would love to have especially teams not named became the city chiefs. And so if you can do all those things on the outside like they can. You can score points. Also look at this team at critical moments though. Think about tennessee. Titans having to get a drive late in the game even though been was a reception late like they were able to the ball greg band. There's gonna prevail on the road. The pittsburgh steelers had the hold on dearly man. Hold on they do for the baltimore. Ravens they score in the second half and they were able to do that then back pop. For the end zone touchdown pittsburgh and all the out cut to the chase. Claypool man play. It just seems that all the critical point of the season it's offense has been able to produce down to like. I said the dallas cowboy game last week obviously exploiting a very bad bengals defense and well in a team like the cat city chiefs right and i say okay. One had the baby stopped him have to limit big play. The pittsburgh steelers can do that with rush. Plays on the back end right. Play play man when they need to stop the big click now. Let's go offensively the only time we've ever seen patrick mahomes lose. He was in the playoffs. He was standing across from another super bowl. Winning quarterback that was tom brady and rothlisburger. Isn't tom brady but he can do. Some of those things in important moments. And we've seen of do those. And so i think this team can most certainly went into as you mentioned chase claypool his nickname if catching on with you but maple tron. He comes from canada. He's this guy. I didn't know anything about. I wonder if you did because he has seven touchdowns in his first nine games as a pro. What has he brought to this offense. I mean you look at what this league is turning into. Because of the lack of physicality it's a it's a size speed league right like it's starting to they used to be. It didn't matter what happened in the shorts olympics at the combine like if a fast it didn't necessarily mean it was going to translate do can do certain things there did me but it's starting to mean that at the wide receiver position because of the rules. Like if you could flat out run you're gonna probably get open because they can't hold you. You pass five yards. They can't hit you across the middle play putin critic who has great hands he tracks the ball. Well he has a big body and so when you have all those things just translate we've seen chase claypool. You know kind of come out of nowhere. They just kinda have a knack for finding people that sit what they want to do and utilizing them in a way. That truly helps the team chase. Claypool is just another example of that

"Yeah and he's like young his shirtless Yeah Walnut list but tank top or whatever no just a button down but it was like not buttoned half a Oh Anyway so you shouldn't. Superstar. He is he's got to love him. Okay. We're going to move on because this isn't his show but if he's listening it can be your show, Jeff. He's just sweet. Just send us an email. Go slight see the me calm your show. Can take over. So. The theater began to struggle financially and was acquired by point bark. Point Park University in nineteen sixty eight the playhouse continued to operate now mostly for students for many years this way this wasn't a perfect fit though the buildings of the playhouse were old and not originally intended for theater. They were also much farther from Point Park's main downtown campus making the playhouse more trouble for the school than it was worth in late two, thousand, eighteen, the old Pittsburgh playhouse buildings crafts avenue were demolished as the spirit of the playhouse was moved to a new home. Oh, that's a bummer. It's like cool history. The new Pittsburgh playhouse complex is located on Forbes and fourth, and while it may not have as many ghosts lingering as the old buildings had it is at the very least a space that was designed and intended to be used for theatre. Sad. Sad. Okay. Well, moving on things the hunting section of the Pittsburgh playhouse. We gotta get my my spooky vocal but We also Halloween town reference. Have you sir. Familiar. Halloween town. Longtime ago. I know. Collectively, Judge Lino, she was not raised on D. Calms and it shows in times like this. There's a wonderful line that Debbie Reynolds has when she corrects her grandson on how to make a ghost noise like make it like this out of a ghost sign it was one of the daughters anyway she's like she's like she says something about it being like like lower and more melancholic like. Oh. She does this wonderful ghost impression where she gets really low at. Your Beautiful Register, she was Yeah I love her. Yeah. PAY TO A. Willing Grace. Incredible increase read the ball performance. She's so bad. Love. To. Conveniently, seeing in the rain bringing back. Doing episode on. Find a way to like incorporate like a haunted set. Because like I don't it sounds like I'm like a big big fan. The classic talk about. Picture you. I mean basically what I'm hearing today, I will say I'm picturing you with like a classic movie poster early. Like the size of your wall in your bedroom. Do. You have a no. I can confirm I do not, but I mean if someone were do yeah. Open to. Po Box. Okay. So unfortunately, with the buildings now destroyed catching more sightings of the goals said to inhabit the Pittsburgh playhouse is basically impossible now so I'm just crossing my fingers that someone build something there soon so we can investigate I, agree, Mercedes. That would be wonderful. So let's move onto the specific spirits of the theater. There is weeping eleanor. She's a she's takes the form of sobbing heard throughout the theaters mainly in the lobbyists. Why me? Just, sobbing no form. Of. A formless blob sobbing it isn't mood I'll tell you that I mean, twenty twenty is, is we being?.

"That's Kelli Kuehne is doing too so that if you have these nagging pains to these niches these things that you're not sure we all know with traditional medicine if you call your family practice physician or orthopedic maybe three or four weeks before you can get in whereas with direct access. Maybe you can explain a little bit. What exactly is direct access because it has tremendous benefits for people who want to maintain their activity right and I do think Kelly spoke about this on her podcast as well but all fifty states in the United States have direct access physical therapy in some way taper forum in Pennsylvania? This means that. Let's say your your child has been having some nagging shoulder pain and it's really come on during their swim season. There's been no weather interesting trauma they haven't had any other illnesses. You're pretty sure that this is directly related to. Maybe they're possibly directly related to their swimming. A great person to see. Would it would be a direct access physical therapist so you don't need a referral from your physician. You can go to call your local physical therapy clinic and say hey are. Do you have a direct access. His physical therapist. Do I need a referral from my physician if their direct access. They'll say no come on in they'll do a full screen and they'll be able to identify whether this is something something. They can appropriately treat in the clinic and if they feel like there's something funny going on that maybe is not within their scope of practice they will refer you back to their physician and it's going to get you there. Get you to your results faster. Hopefully you bypass your physician and surgeon. All these wait times that you talked about imaging imaging fees so that's really what we want. We want to get people in with direct access physical therapists as much as possible. As long as it's safe I know one of the things that I've been told. There's a little over attention detailed and I still remember when I lived in Florida. One of the best physical therapists for running injuries stories happen to be in Atlanta. And I knew that because I lived in Atlanta so I was the idiot or the smart person who decided he was going to fly up to Atlanta. See this guy for something like what what you're doing. With Streamline Health Pittsburgh got the beginning of the year people said New Year's resolutions. I'm going to get more fit. I'm going to join the health club. The tuneup in the physical therapy world is definitely a goal that we're getting towards when it comes to swimming. I mean there's research that shows your bio mechanics can change from the beginning of this season to the end of the season so things can change based on the volume swimming that you're doing so I think touching base with somebody about your mechanics even especially especially a before and after I've actually done that with a few clients and it's been very helpful to just to see where we've made these accomplishments but we're still working towards these other goals with your technique.
