Hey, Jodie. How's it going? Ah, Long time listener. Love your show. Um, I had a little thing off topic here along. Talk a little bit about baseball. Um I'm a huge Baltimore Orioles fan from Pennsylvania. Cal Ripken was my hero. Growing up with a kid in my dad from being Erie, Pennsylvania. He's a huge Pittsburgh fans. What do you think about the small market teams like When is it time for these owners? To say, Hey, we wanna start winning instead of losing every year. I mean, I know the Orioles had a little spurt about I think was like four or five years ago we went to the L. C. S. Got swept by the Royals. I think that's when the world Royals won the World Series, but Pittsburgh in Baltimore. And all these other small market teams, ones, ones that time for these owners to say, Hey, we want start win instead of losing every year, right? It's I know that there In a deficit situation that they have a tough time competing with the larger market teams, which had the bigger individual TV contracts. Unlike any NFL, where it's all national TV and evenly divided amongst all the teams, Major League Baseball does have a lot more games that are just locally based and local television revenue is going to drive the bus. So I get it. I acknowledge the fact that the Pittsburgh the Baltimore is akin cities of the world are at a disadvantage when it comes to competing with large market teams. But Tota is Tampa. And Tampa continues to win 90 games Every single year. They're small market. They got a name I saw for a stadium. At least, Pittsburgh has arguably like the nicest stadium in all of Major League baseball. That could be a draught, beautiful stadiums and major league baseball correct, And that's a drawing to itself. So the pirates don't get his big a pass for me because Have Camp Aken do it, then you can do it, too. Now you are you margin for error is much less. When the Yankees make a mistake on the player and have to eat tens of millions of dollars. They got any do it. Pittsburgh and Kansas City in Tampa can't do something like that. But Tampa's continued to prove If you make the smart baseball decisions if you've got a good infrastructure, if you've got a good scouting staff, you can build winning team. So that's the challenge for the Pittsburgh and the Baltimore to the world. You've got to get all the baseball stuff, right? Yeah. Thank you for taking my call Julia, Jeremy. Good call. Appreciate your red, check it in and also hanging tough with us. He was on hold for, like an hour. I said yes, I do Want to get Jeremy before we get to the update at the bottom. "Circling back to talking about last week's games. What are you thoughts on this Boston Bruins team that seems to be like up in for everything. When you playing a team like Washington we've seen we've seen good games against Philadelphia you seen good games against Pittsburgh, but when you you come, I mean even the Philly game I'm going to throw in there are pretty much. I'm just going to wind it down Washington Capitals on Thursday night. You come in to Saturday and lose to the Philadelphia Flyers. Yeah. I don't get the up-and-down inconsistency with playing teams that are under you but when you are playing teams above, You and and it almost means like it. It really means something that we need to get these two points there up for and they're playing awesome hockey. Well not awesome hockey. It's yeah, it's it's a little more competitive but we want that two points type of hockey and other days. It's just like if Flash's have you even showed up. Yeah. Well, that's that's one thing. I noticed about almost like they're not getting up for these games against the points. We should be just stealing off the board from Buffalo, New Jersey, New York, New York. We played better against than the other two at Buffalo. I guess you could say we played good but when they were in their stretch, we we didn't play the greatest against them. There was a couple of nail biting moments in those games and it it is very confusing cuz you think those would be the games the guys ought to get up for it. They want to get ready for you know, we need these two points easy two points. We can make a bigger gap between Philadelphia, but you know that the leadership group home. Getting the boys up for those games where they need the points. Your numbers are on they swim and talked about the one game where they made the comeback. I'm starting to wonder are they the leadership group not as invested in these games that they think they're just going to win Wok. Let that's just it's very baffling to me. Joe must go with the first no hitter in Padre History Equal night 2021 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Kid Comes home and gets it done. The Padres were the only major league baseball franchise without a no hitter to their name. They played 8205 games before recording their first no hitter, the most of any franchise in major league baseball history. And everyone dreams of getting the chance to throw. No, I've never done a no hitter in my life, so my first one came today on this field. It's awesome to be able to have a bee in a project uniformed and for it to be the first one for the franchise. That's all that's incredible. Friday was must grow second every star with the Padres, who acquired him from Pittsburgh in January. What a corporate tax hike could mean for Americans

"It comes one day after the president unveiled his multi trillion dollar infrastructure plan. This calls for jobs to be created bridges to be built broadband for everyone in America and more a veces marry, Bruce says. The massive package will be a tough sell on Capitol Hill, though President is calling this a once in a generation opportunity, promising to create millions of jobs. But this is also a massively ambitious and massively expensive plan More than $2 Trillion to put Americans to work rebuilding. And repairing the nation's roads, rails and bridges, boosting clean energy and giving broadband access to all Americans. A second part of this plan still to come expected to focus on health care, education and child care could reportedly bring that total price tag up to $4 trillion And president Bond and when he was in the steel city Pittsburgh yesterday told union members the way to pay for this is to hike the corporate tax from 21 from 21 to 28%, and he said it's still actually would be a record low. When you look at the history between World War two and 2017, he said the corporate tax rate was higher for that time period. The president advocates hiking the corporate tax rate from 21% raise in fact. Up to 28%. No one should be able to complain about that. It's still lower than what that rate was between war two and 2017. Just doing that one thing which generated $1 trillion in additional revenue over 15 years. Biden Proposes $2 Trillion Investment in US Economy

"Joe biden on wednesday called for a sweeping use of government power to reshape the world's largest economy and counter china's rise in a two trillion dollar plus proposal that was met with swift republican resistance. The president's american jobs plan would put corporate america on the hook for the tab as the government creates millions of jobs building infrastructure such as roads tackle climate change and boosts human services like care for the elderly. It's a once in a generation investment in america. Unlike anything we've seen or done since. We built the interstate highway system and the space race decades ago biden said in unveiling the program in pittsburgh. He said he had no problem. Asking companies to foot the bill and is going to put an end to amazon. Biden, in Pennsylvania, Details Massive Infrastructure Spending Plan

"President biden speaking in pittsburgh laying out his massive infrastructure spending plan also laying out his plan to pay for it which would include tax increases on the wealthy as well as corporate america. Let's get straight to elon moreh with all the details. Ilan melissa the president. They're trying to strike an inspirational tone calling on the country to consider the possibility of american innovation but also underscoring the fact that what he's calling a once in a generation investment in infrastructure is also fiscally responsible a few new details that he shared during that speech included that raising the corporate tax rate to twenty eight percent would raise a trillion dollars over the span of fifteen years. He also said that establishing that global minimum tax on foreign income that would raise another trillion dollars and he went beyond what the white house had said previously. Which is that The two trillion dollars in infrastructure spending would be paid for over fifteen years. He said that it would be more than paid for over that period of time that they could even raise more revenue to make up for that amount of spending that historic amount of spending. Because he said that this is going to be not just about Paying for infrastructure. But also about making america more competitive. So you're starting to hear the argument. That democrats are going to make a against republicans and against some business groups that say that raising taxes on businesses would actually make american companies less competitive particularly overseas. What the democrats are saying. We're president biden laid out today. Is that by creating jobs and creating new opportunities for investment. That is actually going to Improve american competitiveness and create a path forward for stronger economy will see melissa how that ends up playing with republicans particularly on capitol hill who are already signaling that they are not going to vote to unwind some of the tax cuts that they put into place just four years ago but here the president calling for unity calling from bipartisanship on an issue on which republicans democrats have agreed in the past

"pittsburgh" Discussed on ESPN Daily

"Are see. We are forced to listen to quarterback so often in the world of nfl analysis. So i just wanna thank you for helping lead. The db revolution espn daily. Why does this happen. You guys finally invited me or it's your time man your old team. The steelers are right now. Undefeated and that is surprising. Let's be honest to a lot of people. So how surprising is it though to you. I think it's it's. It's more surprising when you actually watch the games <hes>. It's obviously surprising. Anytime team goes through more than half of the season and their undefeated. But when you watch the steelers play the second half against tennessee titans even watching them to send the backup quarterback gets the denver broncos or be dominated upfront defensively the way they were against the baltimore ravens but still be undefeated. I think that's the fascinating part is not just that they've managed to win. Every game is just inside of those games. you seen opportunities for them to lose. But they've made the place that they've to. I mean you can even look at a match up against the dallas cowboys and say you know gary gilbert and the dallas cowboys may have deserve to win that game. But that's what this lied about was going to come down to one possession games. He's gonna come our critical situation though football moments and at least it does far. The steelers have found answers to any questions in those important moments. And this is why you sit undefeated. So how does this defense stack up. Ryan versus the steeler defense. Is that you played for that. You helped lead. What are the holes in this defense. You know what. I don't think they necessarily have holes in the sense of of those things being a negative right. He's looking to make a rush. The passer with just for the obviously can bring bring pressure make fitzpatrick ultimate playmaker on the back end and i think they have really good corners. But they don't have that great court but when you all those things together i think you get one of the top defense in the league especially when it comes to pressure and turning the ball over we. That's what football is right. Like people aren't going to hold you. Thirteen points like we did wait. Like that's not the ball we play it. You can't intimidate people like i would get fined and kicked out of every game. Five play james harrison fell six million dollars a year. You can't do those things anymore. But if you could get the ball which the pittsburgh steelers do know that really helps and that's why this team world season. Well i wanna get into the difference between playing football then versus now especially because offense is king these days as you implied right there so the defense is the big reason. The steelers are undefeated. The offense though i mean they've been relatively relatively average so can eighteen built around defense. Like the steelers are ryan. Can that sort of team win in the modern nfl. I believe they can. I believe they can. Because if you look at the individual weapons offensively like they are extremely. good <hes>. I think you you're missing that one running back piece but we look at pool. Smith schuster the johnson. Eric ebron like that's a skill set or skill position that a lot of teams would love to have especially teams not named became the city chiefs. And so if you can do all those things on the outside like they can. You can score points. Also look at this team at critical moments though. Think about tennessee. Titans having to get a drive late in the game even though been was a reception late like they were able to the ball greg band. There's gonna prevail on the road. The pittsburgh steelers had the hold on dearly man. Hold on they do for the baltimore. Ravens they score in the second half and they were able to do that then back pop. For the end zone touchdown pittsburgh and all the out cut to the chase. Claypool man play. It just seems that all the critical point of the season it's offense has been able to produce down to like. I said the dallas cowboy game last week obviously exploiting a very bad bengals defense and well in a team like the cat city chiefs right and i say okay. One had the baby stopped him have to limit big play. The pittsburgh steelers can do that with rush. Plays on the back end right. Play play man when they need to stop the big click now. Let's go offensively the only time we've ever seen patrick mahomes lose. He was in the playoffs. He was standing across from another super bowl. Winning quarterback that was tom brady and rothlisburger. Isn't tom brady but he can do. Some of those things in important moments. And we've seen of do those. And so i think this team can most certainly went into as you mentioned chase claypool his nickname if catching on with you but maple tron. He comes from canada. He's this guy. I didn't know anything about. I wonder if you did because he has seven touchdowns in his first nine games as a pro. What has he brought to this offense. I mean you look at what this league is turning into. Because of the lack of physicality it's a it's a size speed league right like it's starting to they used to be. It didn't matter what happened in the shorts olympics at the combine like if a fast it didn't necessarily mean it was going to translate do can do certain things there did me but it's starting to mean that at the wide receiver position because of the rules. Like if you could flat out run you're gonna probably get open because they can't hold you. You pass five yards. They can't hit you across the middle play putin critic who has great hands he tracks the ball. Well he has a big body and so when you have all those things just translate we've seen chase claypool. You know kind of come out of nowhere. They just kinda have a knack for finding people that sit what they want to do and utilizing them in a way. That truly helps the team chase. Claypool is just another example of that

"Be a great free agent fine fact. There was some hesitation regarding eric. Ebron ball security and his pension for landing on the injured reserve when he was picked up by the steelers back in march however the big tight end has had a remarkable first half for his third team. Now the pittsburgh steelers sure his catch numbers really. Don't come close to that of a travis kelsey or maybe george kittle but ebron is not relied upon as a first option for ben rothlisberger like those aforementioned players are for their quarterbacks however number eighty five has developed a great report with big ben and his twenty nine catches for two hundred eighty five yards and three scores has been valuable for the steelers. His last score was league game winner against dallas in the second half of twenty twenty. Expect an even bigger output from the combo of ben rothlisberger and eric ebron as they continue to gel together. Ebron is currently the third leading receiver on the pittsburgh steelers. But i look for ben to look for him so much more in the second half of the season so these next eight games should be exciting. The tight end record for touchdowns was set by heath miller in two thousand thirteen and that was with eight. I expect ebron with three right now to have maybe five to tie that record or six in the second half of the season now that he has had a lot of time with his quarterback are these statements valid. We will soon see. I'm not endorsing all of these. I'm not saying that all of these are absolutely going to happened. But it's definitely what my gut is telling me will occur what matters most are your opinions on the matter. Please state them in the article on bt se dot com and that's behind the curtain dot com or on social media. You can get a hold of me at bt se. Be a d. "Family for joining me today. you know. there's always so much talk when it comes to the pittsburgh steelers especially now because the inquiries our ever evolving when the steelers struggled last against dallas a to win dallas team. A lot of people started to get really worried with the steelers at eight and own. Now it's a record in. It's exciting but people were thinking now that this team is a lot weaker than their record suggests whether that be national media or pessimistic fans. It could be now with another to win team coming into pittsburgh this week. The cincinnati bengals. There are more concerns that the clock will soon strike midnight on this team and there are plenty of questions surrounding them as well when we have the covid. Nineteen situation with vance mcdonald. Everybody has wondering about that too. Bts's tries to answer some of the poignant wondering ahead of time so take a listen at some of these statements and then we will label them as fact or fiction factor fiction number one. Ben rothlisberger should rest on sunday regardless of covid nineteen test results fiction. I've heard suggested from many pittsburgh. Radio stations also in social media. I understand that. Ben has soreness in both of his knees from that injury suffered right before the end of the first half in dallas. Yes he could indeed use the rest i get. I also recognize that it would be favorable to get mason. Rudolph some much-needed reps but this would be a similar scenario to a pitcher tossing a perfect game in the final week of the major league baseball season and taking him out in the sixth inning to give him some rest. The steelers really need to find a way to keep winning and resting. Van in favor of rudolf could mean a loss in being overtaken by kansas city in the conference or by baltimore in the division since he has a hot young quarterback in the form joe burrow. And the two five and one bengals have a potential to be dangerous for pittsburgh. You need to have all hands on deck so in this situation. If ben is ready to go and you know ben is going to say he's ready to go. Then he needs to play factor. Fiction number. Two joe burrow is the best passer the steelers have faced so far in the year twenty twenty speaking of burrow he definitely the right guy to go number one overall to the cincinnati bengals in the twenty twenty. Nfl selection draft the heisman. Trophy winner from lsu has had one terrible game and those against baltimore if you're going to struggle as an nfl rookie. The ravens are likely to be the tormentors and the tough task. The steelers are two definitely that swarming steelers defense is going to be tough for this guy to overcome but burrow was the thirteenth ranked quarterback in the nfl according to pro football focus. And he's playing behind the twenty sixth ranked offensive line. Those guys are leading offensive players. Get to joe burrow like crazy and the steelers have a relentless pass rush but if burrow can be joe cole. The rookie has the potential to become the tiger king in the queen city as far as pastors go boroughs probably above carson wentz and a touch below ryan tannehill who the steelers faced this season. So he's not going to be the best that pittsburgh is seen so far but he will be soon enough. Watch out for joe burrow this weekend. He's going to throw some touchdown passes against the steelers. Defense factor fiction stefan to. It is having an all pro season fact. I actually think that the gigantic two it has moved ahead of cameron heyward for the top spot on the steelers defensive line but that does not diminish what cam heyward has done camps. Football intelligence and savvy are still valuable assets but to it is proving. His dominance number ninety one has taken down quarterbacks with six sacks so far in twenty twenty and has registered seventeen quarterback hits that is second in both categories on the pittsburgh steelers overall stefan ranks. Second in the nfl to t. J. watt in quarterback hits and tied for fourth in the conference in the nfl with bed do pre in sacks. That's something all pro voters really need to watch closely stuff onto. It is having a special season it needs to be in all pro. Season factor fiction number four. It's time to start worrying about. Chris boswell again fiction boswell. Had his first bad game in almost two years and people are really freaking out now. Sure he had an extra point blocked he missed another and technically missed a fifty four yard field goal but when you dig down deep. His line lapsed on the block and the field goal was really lucky to be wiped out by a penalty but after that deadball penalty wiped out the wide left. He not true in ice water. Fifty nine yarder to set a franchise record for the pittsburgh steelers. The previous record was by gerry. Anderson and chris brown who previously kicked fifty five yard field goals for the pittsburgh steelers officially on the season. Boswell is eleven for eleven on field goal attempts and twenty four for twenty seven when it comes to points after. He must one in the opener and he missed to the other day but is that reason to start worrying about him. Sure boswell is the fifth most accurate kicker in the nfl. His in with a eighty seven point nine percent field goal right but sometimes players can go on a slide quickly. I know steeler nation is having flashbacks to two thousand eighteen. But a lot of people need to remember even though it was not disclosed. That bad year was because boswell was hurt. If you look back to two thousand seventeen when boswell singlehandedly one games or maybe single footage only one game for the pittsburgh steelers and if you look to last year when he was nearly perfect as well. I don't think there's too much to fred about now. Maybe keep a watchful eye on chris boswell but once again he is more of an asset. Now more than ever for the steelers fact or fiction number five. Eric ebron is shaping up to.

"Right now, I'm going to say fiction would love to see Rosie next back in Pittsburgh steeler uniform, but that just does not seem to be likely at this time fact or fiction. The wide receiver position is the deepest that the steelers have had in years look here the wide receiving corps Ted of Juju Smith Schuster, deonte, Johnson Chase Klay poll, and James Washington is so deep they didn't. Miss a beat, Wendy Andre Johnson suffered a concussion the first half of week three against the Houston Texans would they weren't worried about the wide receiver core and the other pass catchers as well as the tight ends. You've got Vance McDonald. You've got Eric Iran in their Eric Ibrox really came alive in that game in. Vance had two key catches as well. y'All so so rewrite McLeod get some snaps and it was interesting because Ray Ray got those snaps even before Deontay. Johnson went down with that concussion. Well I kill your unit needs to have all of their men. Healthy others are really good at stepping up in any of their absent. The two thousand ten team had hines, Ward Mike Wallace Sanders Antwan, randle El Antonio. Brown at times was their fifth receiver. If you can believe that he was a rookie but that's how deep they were. Other units boasted is like Jericho Khatri Martavis Bryant Markus Wheaton even Darius Hayward Bay in the last few years but I think this is going to be a lineup. Of wide receivers that really gonNA rival any of those groups they might not be number one that I group that I mentioned the won the Super Bowl. Two, thousand ten might be number one right now with this is still a very good group. It could be argued that there are deeper units out there but the steelers are unselfish and strong here, and that's what those other teams didn't really have you an unselfish guys like Hines Ward in Antoine ran well, but then you had guys like Manny Sanders. The young money crew Manny Sanders Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace. So I'm really happy with this court at a wide receivers in a even the addition of number five of Ray McLeod. This is why I'm happy with this group. Because when you're leading receiver has under fifty yards on the day and they win, there's no threat to a gatorade cooler. There is no boycotting of practice the next day hint hint I'm talking to you Mr Brown. So look there's no egos on this team they are here for one stat and once that only and that is the W. And with this quartet, there's going to be plenty of WS. When you're playing unselfish fact or fiction speaking of Macleod, the speedster will break off a kick return for a touchdown in two thousand twenty. Friends. I'm saying it right here Ray Ray McLeod is electric. Now I know that he was onto other teams in his young NFL career I know he was a member of the Carolina Panthers a member of the Buffalo Bills. The rap on McLeod has never been his speed, but it's been his ball handling skills. You know that's going to be a concern with a lot of speedsters, but here's the thing with Ray Ray McLeod, he's a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball really seems inevitable that. Number fourteen going to go all the way on one of these kickoffs currently McLeod is tied for fourth in the League with a twenty, eight point eight average per return I can't remember the last time. The Pittsburgh steelers were the top ten on return average as far as kick returns a lot lately with Ryan Switzer was there. You had a situation where he was a very short handed guy, but he wasn't going to get a lot of yards as far as that goes Markus Wheaton as well. Many included myself. Think it's Time that Ray is going to reach the end zone you throw in the fact that Ray Ray is also very good at filling in at punt returner Wendy. Andre Johnson went down you've got an electric group. You've got the Johnson and Ray Macleod back there on special teams. Somebody's GONNA break. One we saw Johnson do it last year I think McLeod's GonNa do it this year you might have both of them do it this year, but it's really encouraging to know that the kick return is back in the steel city fact or fiction the steelers will break the shrew all-time consecutive sack gastric the season. Okay. Look here's the deal the reason I say true all-time consecutive sack streak. Because we didn't start talking about sacs officially as a stat since nineteen eighty two. So when you look at the steelers all time list, it's true the all time leader, James Harrison he's got eighty point five. Now number two is Jason Gilded that is true as well. But for the longest time, the unofficial sack leader for the Pittsburgh steelers was who is at number three and that's Elsie Greenwood. The reason he is the unofficial leader is because he retired in nineteen eighty-one they didn't start counting sacks until nineteen, eighty two as an official stat. So what? You're looking at here for him. He has compiled that number of stats and at unofficial number, but it's one that they are the NFL was holding true to. So if you look at the number of sacks, that is the record that is held by the Tampa Bay buccaneers, they recorded sixty nine sacks. Excuse me sixty nine straight games of saxe but BTS's stat. Allah. Just Dave Scofield, took a look at this and he is reporting that the Detroit lions are actually the true sack streak leaders seventy six straight contests from nineteen, sixty to nineteen, sixty five. Look. The steelers right now are at sixty one game while they have the defensive firepower, they're likely to surpass the buccaneers this year for the official mark, they would have to go through full season, basically sixteen more games to have the record on their own I think. That, mark in two, thousand, twenty one but I think they're going to have the official record in two thousand twenty but you know Pittsburgh steeler team is more than capable of getting that record. And they're also more than capable of getting the unofficial record as well, which is a feather in their cap it you know they would love love.

"Pittsburgh. Steeler fans welcome to another addition in the family of podcast from behind the still curtain. My name is Brian Anthony Davis and you have stumbled upon Pittsburgh steelers fact or fiction fact the Pittsburgh steelers do not have a game in week four Duda Covid nineteen and the Tennessee titans having eighteen staffers players testing positive for the virus. This is a big deal We do pray for those players in those staffers get well soon, the NFL is now investigating Tennessee to see if there's any negligence involving the outbreak and so that's something that they're going to be looking at. But here let's just look at it this. Way The steelers are now going to be playing in week seven now thereby week is now it's an impromptu by week but fact these players couldn't go home and go anywhere. They couldn't go on vacation with their families during the bye week because they have to test every day. So this is a new world we find us in twenty twenty fiction. The steelers are going to be at a disadvantage because of having the play all of those games in a row, they're going to have to play thirteen games in a row. Go back to two thousand one with the Pittsburgh steelers when unfortunately the steelers and the nation. Could not play at all in week two because of the tragedies of September eleventh. You remember that from eighteen years ago while there was something else going on as well as that for the Pittsburgh steelers, there's only thirty one teams at the time. Two years removed from the Cleveland browns becoming team number thirty, one and one year away. From the Houston Texans becoming t number thirty two. So they played week one September ninth. There was a loss in Jacksonville. The steelers did not play their second game of two thousand one. Until get this September thirtieth. It was basically a three week by Pittsburgh steelers but with the bye week, just coming that week that a lot of time. Did they suffer from it absolutely not that's dealer team led by Kordell, Stewart Jerome Bettis and a suffocating defense. They went thirteen and three that year think about this. They lost the first game of the season. so they ended up playing seventeen straight games. To end that season by the time they were done and they had a fantastic year. So a lot of people that are saying right now that the steelers are going to suffer because of having the. Play thirteen games in a row now. Now, that's that's not a problem. These players don't worry about that whatsoever. So what we are looking at is factor fiction. This was the first podcast I ever did for behind the still curtain way back in two thousand, Sixteen Zach Parnes and myself would do factor fiction every week and it was like I said it was my first ever bts's podcast really my first ever podcast we did that on blog talk radio back then it was a lot of fun. I have evolved ever since into the podcast or that I am now. So it's a complete different story. There's always going to be something to talk about with Pittsburgh steelers and quote my good friend Rowdy Roddy Piper now look we were never. I've never met Rowdy Roddy Piper but I like to think that if we had met each other that we would have been good buddies. So I'm going to call my good friend and we quote every week. Tony Fiona I do on the steelers hangover in steelers question and answer Rowdy Roddy Piper used to say just when you think you've got all the answers we keep changing the questions when it comes to the Pittsburgh steelers. There's always questions there's always going to be different answers. and. There's always going to be wondering and that's what factor fiction is all about. So I'm going to think five pack of questions and we're going to go ahead and talk about that. Now to see whether I deem them as factor fiction and that's something that you could agree with or disagree with whatever you may choose factor fiction number one with Derek Watt out two to three weeks, the steelers are likely to bring back Roosevelt Knicks Rosie Nix was a great player for the Pittsburgh steelers he. Was a pro bowl fullback in two thousand, eighteen fan favourite as well. But when he went down for most of last season, the running game really suffered he was not healthy. The team ended up cutting him in the off season and he signed on with the Indianapolis Colts. However, Rosie did not make Frank Greg's fifty three man roster. What are the reasons being is because indy was more of a one back offense not a to back offense and they really couldn't find room for him. Frank Reich was. Quoted as saying that you know, we think Rosie's a great player we would have loved to keep them. So when Derek Watt went down last week against the Houston. Texans and was deemed to be out two to three weeks. Rosie Nix was on the radar of a lot of fans saying, Hey, they should bring back Rosie next. Look. I. Don't think this is going to happen. So I'm going to say fiction to this, and the reason I'm going to say fiction if it was a season ending injury. That would be more likely. So if what was going to be down for the rest of the year, they might have went and explored that with am Trey edmunds on the practice squad trey Edmunds has done a lot as far as a practicing at fullback clang fullback. He did it quite a bit when Rosie one town in two, thousand and nineteen. So that's probably the direction that they're going to go and right now they know that Derek what is going to be back they said two to three. Weeks, and with the Titan game being down, that's one less game that Derek, what's going to miss as well..

"I'm here with a different kind of episode this time a personal reflection on the events of last weekend this week. I took a charter bus from Washington. DC with about fifty members of my synagogue we were headed to Pittsburgh Pittsburgh to attend the funeral of sessile David Rosenthal brothers who were murdered along with nine other people during Chabad services at the tree of Life Life Synagogue as he took lives people heard the gunman shouting that he wanted to kill Jews. He shouted it again as he was arrested and again again at the hospital before his rampage he posted on social media about the Hebrew immigrant aid society. He blames Jews for bringing immigrants Prince into our country I didn't know any of the victims but I wanted to do something and showing coming up seemed like the most meaningful thing I could do along the highway. The leaves were beginning to turn. We stepped off the bus in Pittsburgh into one of those glowing glowing fall days. The tree of life is still a crime scene so the funeral was at Rodez Shalom a Cathedral Lake Synagogue on its own Grassy Block near the city center. We joined stream of people walking solemnly toward the funeral on every corner. There were uniformed. Police officers sharing being the grief of their city. Four police officers were wounded in the standoff with the gunman. Two are still in critical condition. The the main floor of the sanctuary is packed. I stand on the balcony behind the last row of seats sunlight seeps through the multicolored stained glass windows does and warms my back. David and Cecil Rosenthal were fifty four and fifty nine there brother-in-law eulogises them both men then we're developmentally disabled. David had a sense of style. He wore the same Cologne and the same mirrored sunglasses every day. He loved plan adventures. Here's but was usually in bed by eight. Cecil was outgoing in everyone's business. He was affectionately known as the town crier. The only word he he could spell was his own name. They lived in a group home but their true home was tree of life. David kept the prayer books lined up on their shelves. The TALLIS's Alice's neatly folded Cecil was the first person to greet you as you walked in the door people in the rows ahead of me nod their heads. They must have known the brothers the woman standing next to me once bin their teacher. The man next to her was a friend people pass tissues. I've stepped into a giant family family..

"Time for straight. Talk brought to you by straight talk wireless, best phones, best networks, no contracts and straight talk is what we're shockingly getting from the offensive line of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Sarah, as they, the guys have not minced words in their their their views on lady on bell, not being a part of the team. Really his spoken to both of us in the sense of it's it's a real indication that these guys must have thought he was coming in quickly, and the other piece of it is to come out and speak so adamantly and so strongly against late what lady on his currently doing also says they must have believed he would be in quickly in general, even if not week one quick enough that they, they wouldn't go this far. They thought there was a change that he was going to be in in a week. They're not coming out quite an and drawing this sort of a line in the sand. But the word today that he may choose to sit out until week, ten, if that's what it takes to save the wear on tires that tread on his tires, that it's, it's obviously caught the offense line, particularly in the stars of the Steelers. In a in a negative place. Yeah, I completely agree. This is not the response to we thought he'd be here by this morning and he's not in. It might be tomorrow or the next day. This is this was the line of demarcation for are having a real game a real regular season game, and you didn't show up and this according to what we're hearing from your agent is the start of something that could be much more serious and go on much longer. There is no real thing to gain for him between today in the next few days or next week or the week after the big gain would be week ten, which is the last possible time he can. He can show up and still be a free agent. The game there, of course, would be taking all the run in wear and tear off of his legs until the last possible minute the difference between today. And next week, there's nothing so he's not showing up that's telling them something. And I think the worst case scenario is that week ten scenario, well, and isn't it sort of telling that the Steelers are in this situation from players from players? Tampa, because let's let. Also acknowledge if you're marquees pouncey or Ramon foster, you're one of these offensive lineman. He's made clear. He's not coming back after this year, and now it's becoming clear. He may not even come come in until we ten. He's not really helping you at this point. So it's a little like what we saw with the Spurs and what we saw at some point when Tony Parker started to feel empowered and come out and talk about Hawaii, what's your, what's your risk? I mean, if you're these offensive lineman, you can be honest at this point because if what you're hearing is true, he's not going to be a teammate that helps you this year. Why not go? Nope. Enough about it. We're not used to seeing it, but it makes some sense because last year he did essentially the same thing he held out didn't wanna sign the franchise tender, and then he did it in time to report for week. One played the little season on that franchise tag. Excuse me. He does this year and by not signing, not showing up today that sending a very different message from last year and what that means for them long term. And for this season, whether or not you usually side with the player, which I usually do whether or not you always side with labour over management, which I usually do. This is sending a message of my future. Next deal is so important that I will screw over all my teammates this year for the entirety of the season. Essentially, I'm willing to waste a year of this team and its hopes to win in order to get more money for me when when again, people are saying, oh, he's got to put food on the table. He's played for fourteen and a half million this year. He's gonna lose eight hundred and fifty thousand.

"In the areas force dropped in end zone and also man but for me i i you know uh i'm gonna tell you man when you're talking about change arison enlist she did something to really forced their hand which i don't know that's the only reason why you would probably release in but other than that eat the type of guy that you want to have a and i don't care about where we won't certain guys who were able to do this and do that listen you can't you can only find so many guys who can rushed to pass and when you find those type of guy you keep him in the game because at the end of the day noble doing paying a linebacker to come in to do any coverage skills you paying and this guy to come in and wreck the game take over the game and be a dominant force because pass rushers will always be at a high premium when you look at harrison's career do you see there's a hall of fame career um he's old term sack leader of the pittsburgh steelers and i think that says a lot for me uh i think he's had a hall of fame career uh you look at all the intangibles the the purged all of the wars accolades teddy's one uh i think he definitely can make a case now whether or not if you get in i don't know if they have wherever happen uh the reason why is this you have to look at so many guys isn't that i don't think is fair because i look at my career to in the same way but you'll get a lot of guys that he played on one team even guys who came before him dead or not in the hall of fame devil great place you know look at greg lou um you look at chair brown other outside linebacker assumed nonjews contributed to the game but they played at a high level for a long time and so you know those are some of the conversations i know that voters would have to really look at and say easy really the guy that we have to look at putting into the hall of fame only these guys we played previously who also great players so.
