"Things to Joe Frazier. About race, about being black, and to me, that was really beneath Ali to do that because he didn't need to. Because I did like Joe Frazier. Then I felt that Ali was unfair to him. Yes, Mark. To go back to Serena, she's one of those names like all the people you just named, they are people where you don't know sports at all. You know nothing. My wife knows nothing about tennis. She's like, well, Serena's playing. Yeah. Like, oh. No, it was family viewing. Right. Where you're going to watch something, and this might be the last time you see them. We're going to get to the point where we're not going to see Tiger play competitively anymore. And tigers 5th major, by the way, is the father son. Tournament that he plays with Charlie. So Tiger is going to gear up for the majors, and then he's going to play in the father's son. That's the importance, that's the list of importance when it comes to golf tournaments for Tiger. Yeah, pulling. I can't imagine being the child of a global athlete. Not a good athlete. You know, if your dad played Bailey, Patrick Mahomes, his dad, Pat Mahomes, was a nice baseball player. He had a nice career. But he wasn't like a global icon. Michael Jordan's son is trying to play basketball. LeBron's sons are trying to play basketball. There's almost zero chance they can match dead. And Serena Williams has a daughter. Does she encourage her to play tennis? For discourage her to play test? No. I think she's encouraged her to play tennis, but Ken griffey senior Ken griffey junior Barry Bonds with Bobby bonds. But they weren't, you know, it was different. I mean, they were just very good players. They weren't global. This is different. This is where everybody in the world knows your dad or your mom. Yes. Why do we could sort of going off of what Paul just said, because I know that I do the same thing until you take a step back and look at it. Why do we put those expectations on children? Like LeBron, well, you're never going to be as good as LeBron so don't even bother playing basketball. Like, why not? You know, you know, Michael Jordan's sons, you're never going to be as good as your dad, so don't even bother playing basketball 'cause it's just gonna be a waste. Why do we expect them to and if they don't meet up to what their parents legacy is, then it's a disappointment. Well, I think that there are people out social media. And no matter what you do, it's never going to be good enough. And it's unfair to them, but it shouldn't mean that you don't go into. If you love basketball, you play basketball. I think Michael Jordan's sons came through, I don't know that social media was what it is now. And they still showed their games on TV and it was just like, all right, well, let's see. This kid, but he's never going to be Michael, so what's like brawny? I mean, LeBron's son, those games are on TV. Yeah. I don't know how good he is. I've watched him play. He doesn't strike me as NBA talent. But he's good. I think the younger brother strikes me as he might be the one who could play. But you know, to try to be fair to him, and I think that's really the key, because we keep going, let me see you. And if bronnie was just playing, I might go, hey, he's a nice player. But because it's LeBron James son, you're like, so just feels like you're viewing him differently. It just. I think it's human nature. Yeah, Todd. Like arch Manning, if he was arch Goldfarb with Texas be so gung Ho. We gotta get our gold farm. We got he's gonna be great. I'm sure he's a very good quarterback, but that last name that endorsement gets you to think that this could be something spectacular for you. Why did you go gold farm? I don't know, that's just a name that came up with. It could be anything. Williams, whatever. But that gold farmer. The gold bar was probably something that's just not going to get it done. Years ago, Texas signed arch gold bar, but they made him a defensive back. He was a great quarterback. The LongHorn's gonna be great for years to come, march gold farms coming. Dale and Iowa. Hey Dale, what's on your mind today? Hey, calling you from lovely Iowa City ayahuasca can not wait to get my shirt. I'm calling about the college football playoff expansion, but before that, as you guys were mentioned in the father and son thing, a few weeks ago, the field of dream games up in dyersville, which is just up the road. I don't know if everyone saw, but Ken griffey junior and Ken griffey senior were playing catch in the eye. Yeah, we saw that. Freaking cool. Anyway, with this new, I don't see how with the Big Ten new agreement. And Kevin Warren for a couple of years has said, hey, I want an NFL type format where there's network sharing of the playoffs. I don't see them signing off on anything where ESPN or the Big Ten sign in offline anything where ESPN gets to have all the college football playoff games. Yeah, I mean, there's part of the fight with that with the networks, too. That and I was told this a while ago about not wanting ESPN ABC to have all of this, all of the riches here. That's why the new TV deal. You start to spread it out a little bit more. And I'm not well versed in that arena when it comes to the TV rights and I don't want to try to convey that I know what's going on because I don't. The only thing I told you was what I was told a year ago about they were at least exploring moving this up to 2023. And yes, breaking a contract. Chris in South Carolina. Hi, Chris, what's on your mind? JM, hey, it's been a while. I hope you guys are doing well. I want to touch on the interview pieces you were talking about earlier. I will never forget when you were interviewing Barry Bonds when everyone, all the speculation was roaming about rolling around about his steroid use and I've never been able to find that video, but I definitely think that as a chart topper for me and also who are you guys picking to win the college football playoff this year? I'll take it off the air. Oh, gosh, I haven't even thought about it. No. If you said Alabama and Ohio State, how's that? I'm not going to give you a Desmond Howard type answer where I'm going Baylor, Michigan, Texas a and M and what was the other one? The pit? Pitt. Yeah. Oh, so then tune in tonight. Watch the potential national champion Pitt Panthers against West Virginia. Pet is favored by 7 and a half. Yes, polling. The desk think he's picking the final four for SA basketball. Has anyone nailed it? The NIT was he picking? I have no idea. But if he goes two for four, if Pitt goes to the final four, Michigan's already been there, Texas a and M Baylor,

"Your matchups. The best helmet of this one. Well i'm partial to the miami's berg viking. One with the classic viking horn on it for a time i used the viking horn had the oval end logo which i think is on the other side of the helmet. Non-timely sure about that. You know of norfolk kept the san. Diego chargers bolt. I'd probably pick north mon each and every time. But they went with the tampa bay lightning logo on the helmet. It just springfields helmet. Looks like the lsu helmets which is a nice touch toledo whitmer their panther logo. Remember the old pitt panther logo. It's on there except it's the same color as a helmet. Kettering fairmont they have the oval logo with the firebird screeching. That's always a cool one. Although i really liked the old one why are. They had the The wings like the philadelphia eagles wings executives a different type. Several helmets used to have not quite the wings on the helmets. Not like the The michigan wings but they have like antlers lines this coming up about the same style. I don't know if they do that anymore. According to the picture they don't and yeah. There's some pretty good helmets a couple plain ones of dublin. Jerome just has a gold helmet kinda like notre dame dublin coffman plain white helmets and delaware as a black helmet with an orange stripe. So that's division. What region twos helmets. Who is not making the playoffs. While there's only two teams one eight middletown and winless beaver creek and division one. You only have a few teams not make the playoffs. But for divisions two through seven. There's gonna be a lot more teams. We talk about that covers..

"That we sheet pointing to pit Is one of the best teams. I went six and five last year five and five in conference there, one of the best teams that's going to be the wind that gets clumps on the map because I remember for years ago when Pat Narduzzi and the Panthers went into Death Valley and one on that walk off field goal. Back in 2016. Let's reference a game from five years ago. That barely anyone remembers. On their way to Clemson did win the title that year. But, hey, remember that game five years ago head pit that they can win? They almost could win, but that's going to be the that's gonna be the game. The Pitt Panthers are going to be the game on Clemson schedule that gets them back into Cloud contention. That's going to be the wind that people point to and say, Yeah, Clemson beat pit put them back in the playoff. No. Because of Clemson's best win is pet. You know where that ranks among the rest of the cultural applied contender in terms of impressive which dead last What are we doing here? Again. You have to kind of convince yourself one way or another. Now your team still the chance and for chance. His trying to convince himself is that hey, pits pit beat comes in a few years ago. So that means there are still really good team. Despite the fact that this happened five years ago, and that wind is going to really put Clemson and be the Marquis winner, they need to get back in the playoffs. When Alabama just smoked Miami, playing at Texas A and M in a few weeks, um, playing most likely Georgia in the SEC title game, if you're Georgia Just a big win over number three Clemson neutral site. The rest of the schedule is very manageable, where the dog should not drop one game go to the SC. Touting when they play Alabama, Ohio State they're hosting Oregon this week. They play pence a in a few weeks. Oklahoma playing Iowa State. Playing Texas. Like. Yeah, All those all those big games we just talked about. All those winds do do pale in comparison to Clemson, beating pet Look, man, I mean to me. I just think chance of my argument for me if you're looking at the pit panthers as the reason Why,.

"To speak the chip. Kelly will get his squad over the hump. I do think we're going to see a lot of improvement. Out of them. The season they went three and two last year and honestly for as difficult is all the seasons. Where last year packed. Hope had really difficult one i think. Ucla had a season where you know that was as good as they could've asked for. According to a man bill connerly. They're returning ninety three percent of their production even talk to a couple of other players during the summer and they like how he's grown as a coach and they think that they're going to have a good year this year. Obviously oregon and usc are going to be the favorites in that conference. But i do think that we're gonna see a better. Ucla team this year for sure does look brad vailima no stranger to the head. Coaching ranks not by a long shot. In fact what you anticipate from bill in his first year at illinois that tell you what whether the i think you know you look at a guy. Like coach bela my. He's very familiar with the landscape of the big tier and he knows how to coach the big tests bisa music. Nfl so he's going to bring a lot of new. Fresh ideas with them in the cupboard is and bare lovey. Smith left him eighteen. Returning starters nine offense nine hundred deepest. There were two six a year ago. They will be a much tougher team a much more physical team. I think much more disciplined team. I think we're going to see a better illinois team when they take the field against nebraska. Well again it's coming quick just a couple of days now four. I guess to be exactly caught week zero and then we've got week one so teams are really winding down and take a look at this though it still feels like i'm so in some instances these guys have been in two days. They've been working hard for weeks now. We'll talk about the pitt panthers. I who were headed to practice right then coach. Dr juicy says you know what hold up. We're going to go to the amusement park instead. Which you got everybody's attention but guys i listen i don't i don't wanna point it out but i don't know if there's a weight limit on this thing that would be the line on that and i wanna be. I don't know if you wanna be in front or behind. What those guys. Hey this year yours to try to do something for your team and get them away from the field. Yep you know what who needs shirts. You don't need shirts. They're not he's not the only one. Take a look at the very welcome announcement for miami watches. Recovery was morning. You're on airplane mode locking ready to go. I wanna really had competition this morning in the defense staffer. I really wanna unpack emotional. Toughness extra pressures on you. Will we recognize as coaching staff and golf. To me is such a great example. Emotional toughness is just the ball. Is you're sitting here. So it's you and your what.

"Too easy payments of four nine. You're you're probably not watching these Clemson at rutgers nebraska nc state and miami penn state are are the three. That's here so that is your tier four. I think we can keep it moving to tier five. Which is the how bad must boston. College beat here. Because boston college once again is not invited to the acc big challenge. Why does he see. Team has to miss out boston college. This is now two years in a row that they've missed out on the acc. Big ten challenge in in their place will be the pitt panthers hosting minute yes yes and the way for his demon deacons hosting the northwestern. Wildcats those games if you watch more than more than two combined minutes of those two games. You deserve some metal. Yeah i love hug something. Yeah but congratulations to coach capable. Because you know he gets snubbed for the duke job and he works overtime to make sure that pit he also proved that pit has its own brand. He's creating his own separate entity there so. It's nice that they jumped over boston college. I think boston college at this point. You know the acc. I is hearing in. You know the they're willing to take calls for the boston. college team. Have boston college if the the big ten wanted boston. College the acc with trade. Boston college probably for just cash. You know cast cash considerations at this point for the boston college eagles even though as we are watching the playoffs. Right now you have to. You have to respect the fact that boston. College alum reggie. Jackson is one of the hosts ridiculous players in the play offs. And i have not heard them once. He went to boston college. And i think that's the problem with you. Know what i mean they need. They need some of that. Like when cam johnson hits a three mike goes and he's a tarheel sorry to the fans but that's what that's what you need. You need a little bit of a boost. Their on the national broadcast. Boston college gets non. So if anything i beg you know. Mark jackson jeff van. Gundy somebody to bring up. They're ready. jackson went to boston college. I think that will help them get back in the national limelight. Also a problem for boston college. I just googled right. The second as you were talking boss college head coach basketball enter and the big result popped up in big bold letters. Is jim christian. Yeah i mean. I think a lot of people probably think he's still exactly exactly. They're like he's good idea that's all he'll ever be. You know wishes pretigious christian still the coach honestly all over america. America would believe us. That's not the problem with those earl grant like we just pretend he is jim christian so he tweeted out pictures of grant another great went for jim christian and tertre by jim christian buddha thought because no one knows what jim chris looks like. Yeah no one. Where's jim christian now. Nobody knows nobody Yeah those are the big challenge game so get excited about those of the announced today and say that maryland got royally screwed out of the situation. This was a good time for maryland to duke to come up there to get the word. It duke went was going to be the game. I'm happy for you know coach oltman coach of the program. Happy for your ohio state buckeyes and glad they're getting that game but if he went to maryland. That's a chance for juan dixon. In order to come show up and go to the game. Steve blake's at the game o. J. j. redick actually showed up here. Now steve blake Sees jay williams. Who's calm college. Game day he decides he wants to fight jay williams again. And you know there's moments there that it's awesome to be here at the very game duke maryland.

"Had another chance at points starting on their own seventeen runs catches by foster and morris got the steelers to their forty. The no donald facing ticking clock went to the air. Seven straight times highlighted by catches by green. Fig pen am another one of my all time. Favorite steelers and his name was john l williams and this was his first year with the steelers. I thought he was incredible. Free agent pickup. I love this former seahawk. John williams is my guy and he had a great game today tony. He didn't as you mentioned he was such a valuable weapon out of the backfield catching the football and he was somebody. I was hoping to still picking first round years earlier. So i was tickled to death like you. That they were able to sign him as a free agent such valuable member for them in mid ninety s. And i will say that. He is the greatest fullback in the last thirty years. And there's really no denying it. Steelers ended up at the visitors. Twenty eight with a second left on the clock incomes gary anderson. My gosh tony. Forty six yard field goal attempt. It bounces on the crossbar things. Leak man that stinks in a halftime seventeen fourteen but he hits the crossbar man. What are you gonna do get through your your your arms up and say yes good. It eats dover. I've never seen that happen saw. I've seen it against the steelers but it was great to see that trickle over the bar so the steelers lead at halftime seventeen fourteen. After the break the steelers dominated the first half with two hundred and forty six yards against indies. Forty-seven well they came out looking to ride their second quarter momentum and they had a whole heck of a lot of it however the steelers streak of scoring in three straight drives was stopped when ashley ambrose intercepted a throw from o'donnell to johnson and return the theft to the indianapolis thirty four. The steelers were indeed threatening but o'donnell's first interception of the year would be costly to this team. After the pick harbach comes out throws passes the dock ins. Falk roosevelt potts an ronald humphrey. He had the colts in the red zone at the nineteen yard line. Then the man they called captain comeback found documents for nineteen and a retaking of the lead. Twenty one seventeen with six. Oh three left. In the third the steelers and the colts would both have to resort to punt on their next respective. Drive as the game bled. Quarter number four in the fourth. The steelers continued to rely on. Barry foster my gosh. He was fleet afoot for such a big man. Tony the fifth year man from arkansas gained twenty two yards on the first three plays of the series. Then donald shifted his attention over the rookie. Bam morris big bam took a pass from neil and took it forty nine yards of the colts eleven. Tony what are you thinking. You've got a dominant guy in berry foster. You've got another big man who's not a change of pace but it looks like a clone of foster and he's rumble in for forty nine yards. Man you get a feel good about these running backs because not only do you have these two. You've got the full back in john williams who we just talked about who was so valuable in this game. This was a great stable of runners. Tony were you feeling it. I certainly was. It was an almost an embarrassment of riches back then kaur had the love it because he was all about running the football and smash mouth and the fans. I mean talk about a scheme. That's tailor made for the city of and bam morris. I mean here's We spoke about eric. Green earlier bam morris with somebody that had. He had his life together. He could've been an all time. Great for the tv really gone had a great career for the steelers but as you also mentioned in the past for his quirks and you're wanting to the bus here so i guess it was all meant to be. But i but bam morris he came onto the scene pretty quickly and he had a great rookie season for the steelers third and seven from the eight number fourteen. Toss fullback. John l williams. John man he was in for the score. Tony the steelers now lead twenty four twenty one and the clock read eleven. Oh eight left in the game stops falk in a sack by kirkland per the next series into a three and out with nine thirty nine remaining the steelers they had an opportunity to deliver that kill shot. And that's something. You always want a good team to do and this was a team that was able to do it especially when you have those three runners. John l. started things off with a nineteen yard catch and run then foster reeled off thirteen before being brought down by colts. Master stopper and former pitt panther. Tony sarah gusau passes the green and foster and runs by foster and morris got the ball to the doorstep once again with a third and one and the steelers well. They decided to go for the killer shot. Were they able to do it. Tony and who it was it. Was that man again. the rookie. Running back bam morris for a one yard touchdown and pretty much put the game away with. The colts hung around the entire game. But the steelers finally up with up to score a really late in the fourth quarter and they put the visitors way and and you could breathe easy. If you're a steeler fan this is what fans in two thousand and twenty one are begging for. It was morris's first career tv but the most important thing only two thousand eight remained on the clock after a thirteen play. Eighty one yard drive. And that's what we want now if we could harken back to one thousand nine hundred ninety four and have this type of play. Wow it would be absolutely amazing. Would there be a comeback for captain comeback. Though tony now it wouldn't happen. In fact keven. Henry got an intersection of harbaugh. Deep down into steeler territory towards the end of the game because kevin greene absolutely rocked number. Four harbs that was it. The steelers ran out the clock with morris and they were victorious. It was a great game. It was a comeback essentially. The defense only gave up seven points but they gave up twenty one to a team because of lapses on offense and lapses on special teams..

john l williams John williams Barry Tony john williams gary anderson fifth year arkansas John l williams Henry nineteen yard johnson nineteen kevin greene one yard seven points Falk roosevelt first half six donald

"It wouldn't surprise me if if we hear him talking being talked about his first round pick off me neither. He played on just like a, you know would say, okay, but just not as high level consistent competition. Yeah, so he was able to do whatever he wanted to take threes block shots, but he saw Shack in just I only saw a couple of minutes highlights here that I haven't watched full games of his stuff, but I liked him more as he slid as he got a little bit older but you're right stylistically wage. Medically, there's a place that's got a maximize the skillset. Yeah, it's a big thing is just you know, stylistically. What are we? What are we looking for here Victor right style. It's like it's like a draft we had the first draft in may actually tell you how many years like the top like 11 or 12 before there's a blue blood pic. So guys are going to different schools. I mean I know kids at okay State probably cuz of his brother a little bit and and always at USC because of his dad, but guys aren't always just going to just no brainer. Top three whatever franchise type colleges anymore. They're being more open-minded also, like I just want to talk about the fact that I think this is like the first year. I came in like the state of Pennsylvania history where the Pittsburgh side of the state probably has more Talent than the Philadelphia side of the state. So I just want to shout it out. "So for you as a browns fan, there is some sort of hope there, but I think it's only fair that you give the guy his do right now. And you give the Steelers there. D Oh, right. Got that going for me. At least I got that. I can sit there and wait on Father time. I guess I'd be capable of Tom Brady was going out last all of us, right? Yeah, well, I I still think that guy's made a pact with the devil. But that's a different conversation. You need to kick a ball of joining us on the hotline. Ah, follow on Twitter at a kink of Walla. They've gone to intensive covert measures. I think it makes it a little bit more interesting. Continue on the Steelers because the Steelers actually share facility with with the Pitt Panthers there, so I think it's like they I I would say they better be extra careful when there's so many more people. Around you in the building with a college program with college clarity. It is they do share a building that there's an absolute division between the building. There's no shared spaces. They each have their own weight rooms. They have their own locker rooms. They even have their own places where they eat. They don't you know, when you walk into the building, there's basically it's one building. But there's two main entrances and on the left of the dealers, and the right is the Panthers. But there's still such weird to me. It's still like a weird such close proximity. I totally understand that it's not like I'm sitting there thinking Pat Narduzzi sitting down with Mike Tomlin every single day. Not like that, but I'm just going man. That's very close. And when you're looking at pros, pros of pros, college players of college players and we're looking at completely different lifestyles over here when it comes to making sure that everybody is healthy. Well, that I mean, that's there for sure. And you know that the Steelers they're doing the best that they possibly can just like everybody else. Or maybe not everybody else but a lot of teams. We are and it's Ah, What's interesting is the whole contact tracing bit of it, you know, And you know that these guys are in these very intense protocols that they're supposed to follow these these things. Miles Garrett turning up with covert. Where did you get it from? Who else? You know, That piece is just sort of interesting is when you're sitting here and you're doing everything that you're supposed to do, and we're in a pandemic, So I guess it still happens. I mean, I don't know. Well, you know, it makes me think about the season to 10, you know? I think that's one thing that we've kind of. We've kind of gone off of. Because, remember, like when Tennessee it first came down with Tennessee. There was a lot of people who are really angry in Tennessee. No, I don't think that Tennessee was always As responsible as they should have been because there was like that weird loophole that they found But I also know that we've understood that. Hey, you know what if if you have a family member who lives with you if they stop at the grocery store, even if they're doing everything they're supposed to do like, Yeah, it can happen. And so you're gonna have to be careful about all of this, And I think the blame game is kind of gone away. Unless unless there's just clear evidence of somebody being an idiot. I think the blame game is kind of going away with. Yeah, You know what? We're in uncertain times. These are bad times. We're hopefully going to be coming out of them over the next year. But right now we have to make sure that everything's taken care of the best we can. Yeah, And when you have kids, and you know your kids, my son wasn't hybrid schooling. So he was in school two days a week. He's five years old. We finally last week moved to five days, and then they suddenly said, Now we have to be home all the time. I mean, it's carrot. Is it safer for me to keep him home? Sure, but he's five years old before his mental well being for his education for his social adaptation. Everything I want to send him to school. So you know what do you want to do? That's exposure right there. I mean, even though kids there show not to transmit it that much. I'm saying that because the Steelers did indeed having assistant coach that turned up covert positive, and I was told that it most seemingly had come from one of his Children. Mm hmm. No idea. I mean, what else can you do that right? Like you've got your kids to school. If you can't you know, you make that choice. You don't have to write, and that's going back to Ben Roethlisberger. He actually home schooling his kids because he didn't want to run the risk of possibly being exposed. Yeah, And still he sits down and he ended up on the on the list. Anyway, he didn't get it, but he was. He ended up on the list anyway, Can I ask you Let me ask you a question about the Ravens. It seems that they are a def con we had. We had Bob Haynie honor on my weekday show earlier this week, he said. They're def con for def Con three. People are starting to get worried. They're worried about Greg Roman. They're worried about Lamar Jackson now. If they lose the Tennessee What happens with the Ravens? Because all of a sudden, six and four don't look very good. Okay. Well, they lost to the Ravens a year ago. The Ravens are a good team. Let's not forget that OK? Yeah, Yeah. Sorry. Sorry. The Titans. I'm I apologize. The Titans are indeed a good team. But, yeah, I'm not worried about Lamar Jackson. We expect to see growth from Lamar Jackson. Every year in the point that I will make is that he just hadn't thrown the ball a lot. Let's not forget that he's really only in his second year as a starter on I remember two years ago when he came in for Joe Flacco when the Ravens were sitting at whatever. What were they sitting at four and six or four and whatever it was before they You know, before John Harbaugh pencil Mark Jackson in and they rattle off that win streak after that playoff game when they lost at home to the Chargers..

"I think the Wolf Packer live Carter fin That could be a difficult place to play on weeknights, even if they don't have fans there to cheer them on. Clemson's down Trevor Laurence in two of their most important defence of players going into South Bend there still a five point favorite, This would be even without Trevor Laurence Like to me, this would be a good win for Brian Kelly and Notre Dame with so much national attention on this game. What do you think, in Notre Dame as the underdog this weekend? I think the numbers actually perfect in that 4.5 5 range. I don't think there's a strong case to be made. Either way. It's been interesting to see the difference of opinions this price open his lowest for some books out here in the desert Goddess High seven and you've seen folks looking elated for others taking the seven back, and so much of that centers around how you evaluate deejay ukulele. As their starting quarterback. I don't think he's going to be asked to do a ton, but this Notre Dame defense is significantly better than what we've seen in the past. I really don't see them at a huge disadvantage on the outside defensively, like they were in that Cotton Bowl, where Justin Ross and see Higgins just absolutely abused the Irish corners. But I also don't know what Notre Dame could do from the offenses side. They're not able to run the ball. Do you trust their receivers? Enough? Ultimately, I come back to the total in this game, and I know it's not the best the number right now for folks. They're looking about it, But it's 51 still widely available. I think under makes a ton of sense. Brian Kelly knows he can't turn into a track meet. They'll open up the playbook a little bit, but I think Notre Dame's defense canasta success. I'm really curious to see if Clark Lee's able supply pressure off the edge. The Irish haven't played the most grueling schedule thus far, but we saw them raise their level of play when they had you against Pitt Panthers a few weeks ago. We all remember the Saints get job a couple of years ago with a chance to go to the Super Bowl. You know, that was an all timer. We saw another Alzheimer's last weekend. Not as high profile, but you tell me if there's been a team ripped off his much Aziz Carolina was last week Now they still covered because they were big dog. But if you had them on the money line, my God, you had to be furious. Conference admitted they botched it. They botched two plays on a drive that ultimately sunk them. Can they respond as a small underdog, or they're going to be totally devastated against this weekend? You know all the ones that further I think there are three places that were bad calls. They're the pass interference, the errant fumble and then the fourth down incomplete that I watched three or four times and wait. This ball skipped off turn realigned, and you mentioned the under money linebackers. It's folks at an under ticket who thought they had multiple chances to get to the window. Before Tolson was able to get across the finish line. I worry about how teams respond in this kind of spot. You don't have the home crowd behind you kind of spur you on to give you the quick start to Lane's been progressively better. They're showing a lot more balanced on the offensive side than I thought they could earlier this season where it was going to be committed to the ground game. I actually like the road favorite here to Lincoln, Get out early. I think this is a game or East Carolina may still be dwelling on what got away against Tulsa last week. Unbelievable. Go out to England. Everton Mansion dinner Manchester City against Liverpool. You choose the game of the match. Which one do you like? Which who, don't you? Well, I'm going to choose a completely different one. How about that? For years? I'm gonna coated two o'clock central time. We're West Ham takes on full form was able to get themselves out of the relegation zone. Of course, it's early in the season, but they be one of the bottom feeders and West Bram, So I'm not going to put a lot of stock in there. Meanwhile, you dig in the West Ham's resume so far there towards the bottom of the table, But their last five losses have all come against the top four teams and man City. I think this is the perfect Bilos spot for the Hammer's. I'm happy to back them here at minus a dollar 20 on the three way I think that's the best bet going in the Prem today, but if you really want to get wild This isn't my best so I can't take credit for a winner Lose. I've seen a decent amount of money coming on the over three today between Newton, etc. And says, Well, oh, I won't claim to be an expert in Syria, though, so win or lose. I'm not taking credit. All right. How about some best place for the weekend? You'll really slate this weekend, Guys. I wish I had a little bit more conviction, given the decent run we've been on. But when we look at the college football slate, I actually think there's value tonight in San Jose State. You have a SEC transfer, and Nick Starkey, who should be the best player on the field, San Diego State. I know the metrics are great, but they played the two worst teams in the Mountain West. In my opinion in UNLV. On Utah State. I think San Jose State Plus 10 makes an awful lot of sense, and we're going to go to breakfast football of the American variety in the Pac 12, Arizona State USDA, you spot playing at 9 A.m. local time. I think you could see some growing pains for Arizona State on the offensive side. There's some questions swirling about us Starting quarterback will keep Slovis be available. I'm gonna go under in the first half of 28 a half. But if I'm rating strength versus what we've done the last couple weeks, maybe more half full position. All right, buddy, Thanks is always will talk to you next week. Always a pleasure, gents, go W picks this weekend. All right. There's There's Todd firm and hit the wrong button. There's Todd for minutes out from it on Twitter, the bet the board podcast. I thought I was looking at a mistake. I looked at it like five times, USC and Arizona State's playing at nine o'clock local time. Nine o'clock in California. I kept looking at it going this camp Morning. Yes, that's what I was just talking about. They kick off at 11 o'clock our time. That's nine. In California this week and I kept looking, I think Is that right where they plan I have no idea why. I really don't. I mean, there's gotta be a reason but their plan and so that's why I kind of like his idea there. The under play could be a little sleepy in the nine o'clock in the morning. Nobody does can inform yet second races. Finished at Keeneland. Joy's Rocket is the winner paid $19. There's some big prices being paid out. "Mark Bolger joins us on sports byline the former NFL quarterback who played for eleven seasons almost entirely with the Saint Louis Rams, and he was drafted by the saints in the sixth round of the two thousand NFL drafty also played for the Falcons before joining the rams and he later served as a backup quarterback for the Ravens. However, he never played a regular season game for the Saints Falcons or Ravens and he played his college ball. At West Virginia you know I'm kind of smiling and laughing because I don't know what it was like it your dinner table and Thanksgiving. But you had a family of some pretty accomplished athletes. Your Dad was a quarterback for Notre Dame. Your brother Jim was on the Notre Dame Golf Team Sister Kate was drafted into the WNBA and your youngest sister meg was a standout guard at West Virginia. What was it like in that household? Yeah, we Know later, life is a little funny who is the best athlete, but I would definitely say my sisters but You know I'll take a little credit for it just because you know those driveway basketball games paid off for them and you know they grew up with three older brothers and I know that's not easy. Playing West Virginia and have my two sisters follow me. There was great. I know what you mean about playing those either backyard or driveway basketball games they can be pretty physical. Tell me what they were like I mean, give me some insight on that. It's you know when it's your siblings I think it's a lot easier to be a little tougher on them. You know there's some hard files. and. So I think wants my sister's got the high school and then especially at West Virginia you know they They had a certain toughness which growing up in Pittsburgh I had and they certainly add from growing up with. Their three older brothers to help them with their careers. I think you guys really probably toughened him up I used to spend my summers with my grandparents in Parkersburg West Virginia now, I'm going to give you a perspective on this. My Dad was in the military and we used to be stationed in Paris and Rome. So, you can imagine the culture shock it was for me when the summertimes when I went to Parkersburg West Virginia but you're kind of used to that when you got to Morgantown tell me a little bit about playing at West Virginia. I are West. Virginia was You know? Culture Shock go from the city there You know I did spend a couple of chips over the Parkersburg, you know route fifty over. On the western side there, I know that road well But you know you had guys like you know Aaron, Beasley and she knew Curtis You know the these older guys in West. Virginia that we all Kinda not all of its misfits there and we all. became a family really quick. So they embraced the younger guys and I think that's A lot to do with coach down Eland who is there and I appreciate you coming up in the military family because that's what my foundation does and I couldn't imagine moving around that much. Yeah, it was always very interesting one Ronnie Lott and I had a long conversation about this one night mark. We were talking about that military kids because we move so much were probably a little more adaptable with life. You know you were mixing with culture and you were judged by anything about other than you know who you were and what your dad was non com officer or an. Officer and everything, and it really gave us a an adjustment to life I mean and I I really look at West Virginia that way to some degree because I know a lot of these kids came out of parents that were in small towns in West Virginia. Maybe they were coal miners and everything out did the the the team take on that kind of personality when you were there. I think. So again goes down Neilan and you know he embraced that he said that we live in the best country, the world has ever existed and. You know which is true but I was a freshman I had never heard that before but I think the football culture is similar to the military because you know I. Grew up in the city but I. Play the guys from the country I played with guys from. The Ghetto With guys from you know rich neighborhoods, poor neighborhoods. So it. was kind of neat playing football. You know I seventeen twenty years of my life. And getting to meet every different culture which is similar to the military. I mean obviously travel as much as you know you had to or. Your your relatives, but it's You know it's I. Think it's Eye Opening spirits play in the NFL and that's why I hope that We don't change too much. Were you a big steelers fan. I wasn't I. Get a lot of grief when I go. No. I grew up my high school was on pit. Pitt Panthers I know terrible unless the biggest rival they didn't want me they said You'd never even play division to Division One. into then Pittsburgh Sports. Pretty much dead to me, but I still love the Pittsburgh. Penguins but. Aren't my team, I'm a mountaineer. Thrill through Pittsburgh Penguins Fan about it were drafted as I pointed out in the sixth round of the two thousand NFL draft and mark being drafted as a quarterback in the sixth round as compared to the first round or even the second round and Joe Montana was picked in the third round by the forty niners your approach to playing NFL football at skill position like that when you were drafted where you were drafted. Yeah, it's It's difficult because the year before the fifth overall quarterback taken the house drafted in the year before the twelfth overall pick and said, I was in the sixth round but. That chip on my shoulder I think Tom Brady obviously he's he's gone onto a lot. Better things than me but we We combine pretty much teammates because of our last names obviously be be are up. And he couldn't understand how he wasn't getting looks to be the first time and I. I thought the same thing for myself so. We went through that process together We both had success I. Mean you know he's he's had somewhere like I mentioned but. you know the chip on your shoulder I think that helps in the long run But yeah. The steelers being a home town kid having been draft I, live in Tennessee. Now, they took a quarterback in Tennessee over me, I KINDA Kinda kick me off a little bit. Well, we all have to have motivation mark. I mean if you don't have a chip on your shoulder I, don't know I learned that. Throughout my life and I know Tom. Uses that. So we'll see how did you maneuver your way through the early stages of being in the NFL being six round pick and getting used to a game that was a lot faster. Players were a lot bigger and it would be hard for you to pick up systems and everything. How did you move your way through that mark? Yeah I. Try To tell people that the game if it's faster but at the same time they do come from college it's not like these come from outer space so. There's not that much faster I think the hardest part is learning the system. Because we all come from different systems my first year. I was cut by New Orleans Saints. And I sat in Pittsburgh and I just worked out every day for a whole year and literally had a fantasy team with a is bruce and Kurt Warner. Out Every day and Little behold you know twelve months later on the team and That hurt them. I'm in the huddle with with these guys who were on my fantasy team. So it's Kind of surreal, but it's it was just hard work and. Oh, a ton coach Mike Martz and he he was really really tough on me. And he was really really tough on Kurt, Warner and all of quarterbacks but. Looking back, if it wasn't for him I, don't think I would know.

"The last three times they played. I'm Bryan Brown defence coordinator for the Cardinals. Hey, let's not get out of school here, but it's not anything cheap. We played a really good game up this point. Don't stop playing football maker floats for the left side of the end zone of the pass is incomplete. Looking up top on the left side there for a one on one opportunity and Louisville able to stop it. It's third down here with 26 seconds left 3rd and 7th 3rd and goal at the seven. As F S U was looking for Jordan Young in the corner of the end zone. 47 after Johnson broke up that pass Six seconds left in a 48 16 game state in garbage time looking for a touchdown over the middle by Rod maker is incomplete and that'll bring up fourth down. F S U has sputtered a bunch on offense. Today They look so good on the opening drive. A lot of teams scripted look good on the opening drive ever since then it has been a struggle for them to get anything consistently going. Minute opening drive. It was really some super athletic plays by Jordan Travis that spark that drive that had nothing to do with the execution. Overall, just a great athlete making some good individual points down. They float left for the receiver. He can't come up with it. It's incomplete. There are no flags down, and that's a turn over on downs. Louisville and just to your point they're celebrating on that sideline on the defensive hold its not a shutout, but they played well enough defensively to not want to give up a cheap one. At the end of this game, Louisville Cardinals were going to put the finishing touches with a kneel down on an emphatic win over Florida State. Today. Our booth is next to the roof with Florida State coaches and I just watched them all push away from the table in front of them and discuss After the offenses, inability to put the ball in the end zone there. "Of the 42 yard or the 38 yard line. I beg your pardon by Claypool. Darius Slay makes the stop of 16 yards for the Steelers. About what do you take away from the 1st 15 minutes of the afternoon's game. Well, these defense's are living up to the billing. Thus far, we outside of the one long run for Philadelphia. They had zero yards rushing and just just impressive from these output from these defensive on both sides of the ball. Good job by clay Chase Claypool Right there, He's going to get more opportunities with Deante Johnson on the sideline Chase. Claypool is going to get more opportunity in this game. It was the eighth complaint in Canadian player ever to play at Notre Dame touchdown the afternoon they take the reverse to him handed off through the whole list. Connor cross midfield and past the Eagles 40 yard line. Big Chunk play for James Connor. Pain of 26 yards on the Kerry, Robi Coleman and Marcus EPPS finally stopped Connor from getting totally loose on the play. And there it is again. You you fake the action of the jet sweep, and Philadelphia is stretching, working to keep the edges contained. And it allows James Connor to run really almost a belly right through the heart of that Philadelphia defense for a nice game. Complementary football. My mistake. Seven carries 35 yards now, for Connor's alone, setback will go to him again. Hand off running right side breaks the tackle toward the right sideline and forced out of their losses balance. And a backward somersault. The play on a gain of three the hard way for James Connor. You saw the tight ends work up to the second level of the Philadelphia defense there, but they they went past all of the pursuing linebackers from inside out. That was a good individual effort by Connor there to pick up some yardage because he was under heavy rush. From the Philadelphia linebackers Cancer survivor in the former Pitt Panthers. 77 our score 12 43 left in the first half. Evel receivers of the fireside now emotion Washington fakes on the jet. And of course, they flip it now to backup running back Anthony McFarland will dive straight forward for another couple 23 yards. Setting up 36 tricky down in distance right here for Pittsburgh. Just a little bit long for you to be able to just lean on. Pittsburgh Philadelphia defensive line to pick up the first but a little bit law a little bit too short for some of your more traditional third down past concepts Tricky down in distance. Roethlisberger, now five of six on third down this afternoon. 77 score 12 minutes remaining in the first half. Two receivers right one left tight and left as well. Throw on third down in the scene. He's got Claypool alludes Aman 15 10 5 toward the right pylon touchdown stealers. 32 yards. Put that your third down playbook and keeping second touchdown of the day for Clay Bull, who'll one receiving one rushing its 13 7, Pittsburgh. Well, what a tremendous, tremendous throw in a tremendous route by Chase Claypool. He's lined up on the near side of the field and is running that tight. Skinny post is basically a slant route just 10 yards down the field a little bit further. Roethlisberger finds him in the middle of that zone coverage. We'll start with the early game 12 o'clock number. 24 24th ranked Louisville travels the pit to take on the number. 21 Ring Panthers. The Pitt Panthers are favored by three Dennis 50. And who do you got in this contest of the Battle of the A. C C. You know what? It's got a good defense with Pat Narduzzi at the helm there, and they actually got a pretty good quarterback. I like Kenny pick it is well that combination for May. I'll lay the point. Louisville has no defence. I watched them last Saturday against the U. I'll take the Panthers 28 21..
