I was stationed in Germany during the are where I was in the army and apparently in a lot of places over there during holidays, and I love to dance at the club. Learning to guys on the end are acting as leverage. But the big kicker is All six people have to hold a mug of beer outstretched behind them during the whole competition. Oh, wow. Trying to picture this. Yeah. Yeah, Yeah, it was quite quite wild. Actually, I was one of the guys on the outside my body was the one arm wrestling and we get about halfway through that arm wrestling match. And we hear just big pop. As he breaks his arm right at the elbow. Oh, yeah, first seeing people actually to happen, not live and in person, but I've seen it have that. That's brutal because I've heard of that. I've seen them on Tele. We've seen it on television many times, but I mean, not that the guy break his arm, but force that leverages so much that it's just pops your Thank you. Yeah. Um, Then he opened the two leader and squeezed it and chugged it and just shot it down his throat. And most freaking. Amazing, Uh, we're all here I am. You know, 18 year old kid. This guy was like he was Junior or something. I think I don't know. I'm sitting there looking at this mountain of a man. And He's sitting there, and everybody just kind of dumbfounded and he let out a belt that echoed throughout. Oh, so did he So gilded. He eat all of them. Oh, yeah Crust in everything I was like blown away. I mean, well, he took the pizzas out of the boxes and stack them right. And then it just ripped it. They just ripped him apart. And it was And then we take these huge like a third of that and fold it over and then, like three or four bites Penny He left the crust and then he terror and need to eat that the meat part and then he went back and devoured the crust and just took that to leader and just Squeeze. So he was not a small guy, but he was. He was the most incredible eater I've ever seen in my life. My roommate for a year he had this with this So Italian place and it's this dish was called the Sizzle Lini. I'll never forget it. And it was like, I don't know about £8 of just pasta and chicken investment was made for like 3 to 4 people, right, and this dude just crushed it. And it was the the damage thing. I mean, I would lost $1000. But there's no way you'll eat all of that. It was a lot there big deep like, Can you ever been to BUCA Di Beppo where they serve those big platter? No, just No, no way in hell, I'm just I'm trying to think of the most I've ever eaten in a sitting and it has to be your brown holiday meal of some nature back when when Mom was doing all the cook and I can throw down some turkey and Especially dressing. I can eat some some stuff stresses. Okay. Am for me. I mean, my college and pro days that when I was just slammed his food all the time. I'm not going. I can put away food. I was going to ask you. I bet you summon some of those, uh Training camp meals in the cafeteria. There had to be some guys throwing down hard my plane is we would go to like You know, say we want to Olive garden. You get two dinners, right? You get like I'll take the chicken, garlic com broccoli and be whatever the that thing. And then although Breadsticks no. Yeah. Ever ago you get two entrees Go to Bob Evans. Two entrees. Bam! Add unlimited breadsticks. Yeah. Yeah, Why? Something on little you know, after in college on on Fridays after lifting You know, a bunch of us, Me and Jeff Faine and Tom Pinsky. And you know about eight of us would go to like an olive garden. "The lab's medical director. And he joins us now. Good morning, Dr Pinsky. Good morning. In simple terms. Can you run down your labs process for genomic sequence? See that can detect this variant. Absolutely. We're actually taking a two pronged approach. We use targeted methods to identify known mutations that are associated with these variants like the South African variant. And when we get a screen, positively identify one of those known meetings we then sequenced the genomes of those viruses. Okay, now The samples that your team tests come from several South Bay hospitals. Is it your belief that this variant is most likely already moving through the wider Bay area? As are our samples come from throughout the bay Area from Stanford Healthcare, Stanford Children's Health Valley Caras well as a number of additional facilities across the Bay Area. We have identified these two cases out of over 1700 screens s. Oh, there are likely more cases, but it does not seem to be highly prevalent, at least at this time. When you see information sort of come at you like this, Do you and your mind begin to form some sort of hypothesis about how a variant like this one Gets to California if it starts in South Africa. Yeah, I mean, as evidenced by the case that was identified in Santa Clara County. That is a travel associative case. So Likely there was some travel and then further spread. Okay. And your lab is also the one that identified the first case of the UK variant in the Bay Area. How do you and your colleagues go about communicating with state health officials when you make these kinds of detections Yeah, that's the really important process. So when we identify and confirm these variants, we immediately contact the county public health officer. Uh, of the area which person lives and then we additionally contact the state public health on Ben. They do the infection control and public health interventions. Investigation to determine Contact tracing and so forth. And do you feel like your labs relationship with state health officials is good. Can it be improved? Are the lines of communication what they need to be? I think we've had very good communication for these cases that we've identified reached out to the various public health officials like Sarah Cody and others. A soon as we've identified them, and they have really rapidly initiated, you know the public health interventions. Let me ask you about the vaccines. How effective are Our various vaccines against this South African variant and the other mutations. So, yes. So this is a very big concern. Whether or not these variants impact the effectiveness of immunizations. So there is some data from studies carried out in South Africa, indicating that several of the vaccines do not perform as well against miles moderate covitz Those include the Johnson and Johnson and Novavax vaccines which have about 60% efficacy. In addition, more recently, the AstraZeneca vaccine trial was halted due to a relatively poor performance in a small number of individuals so far for the vaccines that are in the U. S. Five, sir and Madonna vaccines. There's less data, however, for the modern a vaccine on the bodies. Uh, from vaccinated individuals do not work as well at neutralizing. The South Africa variance, So there is some concern that it would be less effective against that variant E. I should mention, though, that Vaccines appeared to be effective against severe disease s. So it's very important that folks still get fascinated. What has your lab discovered about the presence of other mutations in the region once that we may not have named or heard about yet? Well. We have confirmed the presence of the California or West Coast variant that was identified in Southern California and also identified Bye, UCSF and the State Department of Public Health. This l four l 4 52 to our mutations. Um, that is highly prevalent in our area. Maybe 30% of the cases. A lot less is known about that variant as far as its impact on vaccination on Gran's mission and so forth, though, there is ah lot of work going on to, um To evaluate that particular Varian. For new variants. There are a number of samples that we sequenced and still trying to get a handle on whether any of these mutations or variants are our novel, or if they're novel mutations, whether they're important for Any of these factors, transmissions, severity or effectiveness of vaccination. "Special operations chief Edward Gallagher was found not guilty yesterday of murdering a suspected ISIS prisoner in Iraq the decorated navy seal had been accused of stabbing the wounded teenage captive back in twenty seventeen William Branham has the story that's right Judy in addition to being found innocent on the first degree murder charge cheap Gallagher was also found not guilty of attempted murder of Iraqi civilians and of obstruction of justice the only thing he was convicted of was posing in a photo with the dead captives body for that he was demoted one rank he will serve no further jail time late last month this trial took a dramatic turn when one of the prosecution's witnesses navy seal Corey Scott testified that after he saw Gallagher stab the teenager Scott killed the captive by plugging his breathing tube Scott claimed it was an act of mercy Gallagher always maintained his innocence and on fox news this morning flanked by his wife and lawyer he reiterated his view that it was a group of disgruntled fellow seals who wanted to frame him I just wanna make make clear that this this small group of sales that decided to concoct this story in no way shape or form represent Nixon to the community that I've you know loved and gave my soul to for more on this case I am joined by Steve Walsh he's been following the story for keeping B. S. public radio in San Diego and he was there for the verdict and sentencing today Steve Walsh thank you very much for being here you've been following this trial all along with your sense that this verdict was a surprise it was a surprise in the sense that yesterday when the verdict came out and he was acquitted of the six of the seven charges and all and all six were the most serious charges there was a great deal of jubilation Gallagher was hunt was hugging his wife they were very celebratory as so there was a a feeling to this today that maybe Gallagher would serve no jail time at all these wouldn't get a sentence of any jail time but on this last charge the least serious of the seven charges the jury decided to give him the maximum sentence which is in this for months in jail and they reduce two men rank from a chief petty officer to a petty officer first class that's going to have implications on the Gallaghers of retirement in fact we were expecting Gallagher to come out and talk to us after the after the sentencing and in but instead he and his wife got in the car and they drove away Gallagher was originally accused by fellow seal members members of his own platoon which in and of itself is sort of odd given that sort of historically tight knit nature of the sea organization they said that he is one up in a sniper tower and Sean and civilians several of them said that they saw him stab this alleged captive ISIS prisoner how did how did Gallagher's team robot those witnesses well the Gallaghers team said that essentially bays trade this as an investigation that was out of control that the turnout targeted Gallagher from the very beginning the lead investigator for naval investigations Joe war Pinsky he'd only been with NCIS for two and a half years before he got this incredibly high profile war crimes case the the also portrayed these seals in Gallagher's platoon Gallagher is is forty years old now is it in the rest of his platoon was much younger yeah I'm on the stand his attorney said call them in title the young seals so in addition to having those seals who I I guess their their testimony was simply not believed by the jury there was also this piece of evidence of texts that Gallagher had sent to a fellow seal apparently he sent a photograph of the captives body and I want to read what these texts say one of them said I've got a cool story for you when I get back I've got my knife skills on another text said good story behind this got him with my hunting knife how did the defense team robot that bit of evidence well I honestly they didn't I mean if you think about this this is something that happened in Iraq in two thousand seventeen they have nobody in this case very little forensic evidence but the one thing that they did have were these photographs that Gallagher sent out to people in the United States and other members of the platoon with him posing with the knife up to the dead detain me so in the end that was what he was convicted of but I guess the the evidence citing a for Gallagher has a tax that says I can't wait to tell you the story about this I got right with my knife how did Gallagher's team push that offer to they just not address that will be addressed in the sense of big said that this was dark humor they also have other tax where he he threatens to kill his his platoon yeah he he turned to the jury of all members of the military marines in a Cup and one seal as a matter of fact and said who among us has had not had their commander threatened to kill them at one point or another and lastly there was this this piece of us sort of a bomb shell development where one of the prosecution's main witness as this medic who was there says after he saw Gallagher stab the captive it was he the medic who then kill the the captive not Gallagher I mean that's going to do something here case if they if your your key witness sort of says actually the the guy you think killed it didn't do it I did it it exactly this was a prosecution witness not a bit and so on cross examination that's when the defense brought this up it played into their overall narrative that this was a sloppy investigation they didn't ask the right questions to the right people at the right time of course there were some conflicting testimony I one other marine raider who was there also said that he saw no stab wounds on the dead body Leslie was we did we know that Gallagher's convicted of this one charge of posing with the photograph and what is next for chief Gallagher well that's the way it works in military court this will go to the convening authority for final approval of this sentence and then I his attorneys seem pretty eager to appeal this decision they don't want this sentence of confinement on his record if they can possibly avoid it so we probably won't see the final outcome for a while in the meantime he'd already served eight months in the brig that was basically good time so he served none of this four month sentence so he was able to drive off right after the right after his case was over

"Are you an angel investor okay are you a are you a seasoned savvy venture capitalist then how about you don't try and pick the one company out of a thousand that's going to end up being amazon look maybe you get lucky and what do i do whatever you want to do i'm just saying if you want if you care about your money there are so many other places you could put it to get a return than spotify and i've just got a the only thing that's going to save spotify in terms of taking a dump like snapchat is that they're not actually making shares vailable new shares available so the selling that's going to happen afterwards short selling that that happened in snapchat will likely not i don't think it will occur in spotify you will probably get a general price and that price will be whatever the market thinks it ought to be and there will not be a huge this this huge buying frenzy to try and get a hold of spotify spotify stock but i could be wrong hopefully people learn their lesson well it's wall street they never learned their lesson but you would think the average investor would have learned their lesson after snapchat and you can go back and listen to i've just go and search for the the snapchat episodes on my program because i outlined from the day that sucker i p owed until the day until most recently i've been saying this is a waste of your time it's a waste of your money you're going to lose you're gonna lose big and they did anybody who bought at the at the open at the ipo lost big and they deserve to lose big because they were foolish investors and that's what happens when your foolish with your money anyway so based on that i would say no on the spotify ipo and and you ought to be looking at at companies that have longed that pay here's my investment strategies very simple find a company pays a nice dividend has a tenure track record and is constantly meeting it's it's estimates so you take a company like american express you take a company like well i like feral gas they they got rid of their dividend.
