"Is hitting homers Stephen Duggars making noise. All sorts of stuff happening with the Giants, Dwayne Keiper here to tell us about it on the Yuma Guest line. Good morning, Skype. How are you? My man? Dwayne holds a really, really nice Year anyway and doing though No. So what? Rainy morning, which I really like. And I hope we'll get more of it. Water, the earth we say yes. Yes, it's thirsty right now. Especially here. It's good. It was. I know. No rain outs for baseball in Arizona, but water US water us. In the meantime. So the one headline I've never seen in the Chronicle ever. And I've lived here now for almost 33 34 years. The drought is over now. Never not one time right now. No California with perpetual drought range birds among Uh, doom and gloom on the waterfront and as man somehow we'll survive somehow. But they're playing baseball in the sunshine down there in Arizona. How was your trip? You guys sounded great. You know, you got to see how you were there for the Ramos game. I believe, right. The two homer game on Sunday. What was your impression? I'd love to hear all the Skype impressions. What did you would you would you get Well, the first thing is is it's rare for us. As long as we've done things that I'm talking about. John and Mike and myself and and Dave, too. Even though he's younger, it's rare for us to walk into a park. For the first time, and that's the first time I'd see the ballpark it Goodyear. Oh, wow! Cheered by the Indians and by the Reds, the Ohio teams And I mean it is out. It's out. Yeah, I mean, it's after junior John Miller's The directions he got from someone. I wouldn't miss that. No, he said he talked to a local And the guy said, Look You take the 202 to the 10, and then you just stay on the I 10. And when you see a sign that says Los Angeles clothes take a left seriously seriously. Falling. I went out there. Yeah, Polly and I went out there once and we were like, man. And there's a bunch of old planes out there, too, is like a plane graveyard. They still out there. It's a weird vibe. Absolutely. But anyway, it was great. So the ballpark I really enjoyed You know, I was worried that with all the new rules that it was gonna be tough getting in and out for us, but it wasn't everybody's really good about making sure You follow the rules. And then you know a chance to see some of these young guys watching Luciano struggle and watching Ramos but And, you know, also watching Stephen Dugger and take advantage of of some opportunities and a lot of these opportunities. They're coming because Slater can get healthy. You know, And I really feel bad for the guy because you know he's losing. He's losing it. Bats in the spring. Which is certainly going to affect this roster when they have to start picking 26 or 27 guys. Uh, but all in all, it's been fun, Bertha. You know, John and I really enjoy obviously doing these games. They could get a little weird. At times. I thought yesterday's game. Was a really Perfect example of how some of these new rules and spring training is really bad. You know it is. It wasn't that it happened against the Giants. But You have that many people on base in the 1st 2345 innings. They did not get a chance to knock in runs by having the managers say, Well, that guy's throwing enough. Let's take everybody off the field. Tired. It's a bad rule. Yeah, that's not what people pay for. Yeah. Mike Cassini on Sunday. Now this happened in front of our crowd, the Giants crowd. And he reads the room as good as anybody. But now the Giants have the bases loaded. And they get a chance to score some runs in his pictures thrown 27 pitches. He can jerk everybody off the field, but he does take the guy out. He brings in the reliever to get the last out, and then he brings the starting pitcher back. To pitch the next inning. Well, everybody's happy when you do that. And I wish more guys that was counsel would have done against stick. Just get one of your guys in the bullpen up to get one or two outs. That's it. So you got to do? Yeah. You want these guys to pitch anyway? But you know if you're a Giants fan, and you drove all the way out, good year, and you sit there, and now the Giants gotta pick valley going and they pull him off the field. I'm sorry. I want my money back. Right, right. Yeah. Is God help? Yeah, I can't hear that. That's it. It's a twosome. New weirdness. So I'm with you on that protocol it all that I just can't stand to see, Uh, just You know people walking off the field. Let's finish the Indians. I mean, if you have the center fielder throat, Yeah, six said to truly feels like I had to get that up just because I was new. Yeah, I hear you feels like a JV scrimmage out there for sure. So that is a bunk thing, And everybody should know if they go to the game Buyer beware. Some of those things happen That said, there is some exciting stuff happening. And I'd love to hear your thoughts on Ramos. Um, you know, they're saying, listen because he didn't get to play last year in the minors that Virtually no chance. He opens with the big club because he needs more reps or is there? I don't know. You tell me if a guy keeps The guy keeps doing this. Well, you know what? What's the realistic thought here, Kay? Mean there. There's a lot of history. Murphy in calling you guys know this guys. Absolutely like it up in spring. Yes. And then once the season starts, it's not the same guy. I'm not saying that about Ramos because he really is impressive and And the Sunday game. Hey, started out in left field, and it was really windy. He had three or four tough place and left. He made them all. I mean, they were in great place, but they're all really, you know, significant place. Uh, And then he went into center field. He collided with savvy and we're still not even sure you read it in this glove. We think he was sobbing. Uh And he did He look like he struggled just a little bit of center. But we have to remember that this guy is to 30. You know that? That's that's what that's what Kevin Mitchell was his top weight with the Giants man. On. He's got a chance to play center field. I think I think you could do a really good job in center. You know, it's not a lot of problems. Huh?.

So the FDA actually had a issue a warning against doing this because I said there's no proven benefit. There are downsides. There are companies that exist in Silicon Valley that do this. So this is this real life people. This is actually happen. So that's my pick valley. Silicon is the fact that you can buy the blood of a young person and injected into yourself. You're not advocating for though. No, I'm definitely that's an anti recommendation. That is a, but it's my pick for things that shouldn't exist. But only because there's too much money around here. I second pick. I'm gonna I'm gonna take a little bit lighter. I'm gonna pick the umbrella academy. Yeah. It's it's very different. I think had I not known. It was a comic graphic novel. I would not have liked it. I would have been like this a really weird show, but understanding it came from a graphic novel. And like it's shot like that. I really enjoy it. It's a nice change from our traditional marvel offerings bit more darker, not as funny this one I was like humor, and it's got a lot of complex interactions really enjoyed the show. Maxine what do you have for us? So right now, I'm watching on. Netflix is tidying up by Marie condo. So everyone should Khan Mari their lives. And so is this podcast bringing you joy, this podcast is being me joy. And it does not add clutter into my house. All right. And so yes, I think maybe my husband's a little bit more into it than I am. But I definitely recommend people. Checking it out have you been folding your clothes, really neatly? Yes. In little little pockets, or whatever. Brio? What do you have for us? All right. Well at the beginning since this is the front and happy hour podcast. We did talk about drinks. And I mentioned this hour beer, so I should say sourby recommendation. There is a brewery in Monterey. California called Alvarado street brewing and day have a line of sour beers called east of Eden. Where east is spelled with a y because the sour beer in it. Highly highly recommended so that's on the drinks side of things on the keeping it light. I mentioned before we started recording that apparently people ought to tuning their cats on Twitter is thing, you know, make sure that you don't pop your ears or your bo- speakers without one, but it's kind of fun, and then on the perhaps more content side of things. There is a book that I wanna recommend which is called amusing ourselves to death. It was written in nineteen eighty five. And it might as well have been written last November it talks about television is a medium. How would change is the public discourse? In general. It's a bit more focused on us rather than entertainment. But it makes a really good argument about why is different mediums than than writing or audio and how it actually impacts. What information you can present? And what level of intellectual conversation you can have. So it's quite fascinating. It is worth mentioning that. I learned about this book by reading an interview with the singer from the Arctic monkeys about his latest album called tranquility base hotel and casino, which is my other pick. It's a concept album. So again, listen at your own risk. So I think that book and that album, and the fact that there. Related kind of blew my mind. And then one last pick which is a lot of people who know me know that I love love space in physics. And so I'm going to give a shout out to Scott Manley who's from the bay area and does a lot of space related videos on YouTube, and they're highly educational and super interesting and grade snack in between my binge-watching the umbrella academy. But it on. The idea of kind of like how the internet and things have changed are just are how we how we just media and art came up in a Russian doll, which is a pick last time. Yes. Like, why visual art has declined in the past thirty years, and the answer was like the internet like it is not decline is just move to a different different media different media. Yeah..

But again, I'm still not sold on like everybody just going. Well, they've got those four pets. So it's it makes them like the front runner of the pelicans, just wait until July one. Where are you though on Lonzo again sort of like a divisive figure around the ringer? I on the I think Lonzo figured out by shooting spree. Does I wanted to the solid starting point guard? He can play off the ball. I I mean anger in the long. It was a good package, but I'm going to peace right now. I'm like potential all in huger eighty and I'm like the rafters, and I put on like, the come and it'll be in band bleed. Like, I think that's a better topic in the Lakers package. I love to the lonzo's like, yeah. I don't wanna go there. Like are already is like, I don't I don't want to go to New Orleans, and I mean like from everybody, I've I've heard from it's like you don't get a say in this like nobody's listening to what Lonzo ball wants. But I love that. He his people are out there trying to maneuver already and get him rerouted to another team. What's your best bet on whether or not the Lakers are gonna make the playoffs right now. According to five thirty eight they've got twenty six percent chance to make it according to ESPN's predictive model they've got a fifteen point six percent chance to make it's pretty low. Both sides have them finishing at five hundred. My thing is how do you calculate for? Lebron like if he's gonna play it's hard for me to imagine the missing the playoffs. Yeah. And I mean, look at the west standing you live at is next beloved clippers Paul pretty fast. I think we're gonna get him into Mary. Louise, I mean, one of the Bronx healthy, that's really the point is as, you know, rolling reinjured pretty good book as we record this. They are a game and a half behind the clippers and a half came behind Riley Makati Sacramento Kings. I'm with you. I I still think like if you're LeBron and you're playing you're gonna make the playoffs. That's a pretty easy calculation for me. Let's say are the one if you're lying thinking man, I get into the playoff on T indicate make something happen. But ever the warriors the ones like man, I'm getting playoff to get frequent smoking four game. That's pretty brutal. All right. So lots of stuff happening with the Lakers. We mentioned and Isaac as our resident he has story in confirmed. This for me, I don't think we've ever talked about the Celtics on check before the so what it's never happened. The Celtics Celtics. We're gonna talk about the Boston to talk about the Celtics on the ringer the first in ringer history. Nobody's ever done it. Here. We mentioned that the Celtics are also obviously, very interested in Anthony Davis. But before we get to that kyri Irving is out there making a lot of noise Charkes over the weekend. They're still hanging on by thread. But I would say if they lose one more game, Earl, Thomas potentially gone, especially with all the weirdness. Last week we were sitting out practices and whatever. So I just he's so clearly checked out even though he's still brings a ton on game day, the Steelers you, they've gotta look at their defense and just say, there is no way where winning Super Bowl. So you know, maybe it and I bet at that time they didn't think they were gonna lose bell for ten weeks right here. We are well writing. Got hurt last week, so I would be willing to accept your whole Thomas and Philadelphia also on the record. But what would you give up real time. Talking seriously. Second thing, I think we have an extra hole, see. They've already said no to third. So it takes a second. That's what I'm saying. Gotta be. I'll give up. I will offer third, fourth or two-thirds. I don't know that to up a second, especially since it's in Philadelphia. It's such a stupid luxury pick. Yeah, and it would luxury. 'cause mcleod's only two weeks. So then the other cloud jenkinson on this Horner this do is just you're all right. So maybe not Phillies specific, but you know, if you trade for Thomas and you try to any pick valley, which is what does is if it's above third round there, then you know you, I think you've kind of have to resign him and he for sure. So, yeah, you know, I don't say if you market was really nice to teams, there's obviously, but all time is clearly isn't taking nothing, which is why he's had issues with the Seahawks whatever the Seahawks offered, assuming offered anything three assigned. And you know, I, that would be a tough one for me, but I would do it. I would second for him at make sure to lock it down and then it would be worth it because he, I don't think he's a kind of player who still there erode over the next three years, which is basically what you're looking at. No, I agree. And he's been difference maker when he's been on the field for this. So. Well, we'll we'll find out what happens there. We're going to find out what happens with Jimmy Butler and Minnesota. A lot of interesting names are available via trade right now and look on a person that is on a personal note. It's been an honor and a privilege and a pleasure getting to be your podcast for these less ninety. One episodes. They've all meant the world to me. Thanks so much for your support. You'll be basely. Thank you. This is obviously we'll be aunt you and Sam lock show moving forward. And you guys you're in for a treat. If you missed those old blitz, casts. Oh.
