"So give us the final takedowns that are going on, the things that you're trying to organize, because like with anything, right? It never goes according to plan. You've got some oh shits. By the way, if the book is correct, there were a lot of fucks involved in this too. You know, it's kind of funny. So Lou mily owns in the room with us and he's watching me and Eric navigate this fucking mess that we're in the middle of and fuck was said a lot to the point where I said it's said do Elaine Shannon after the book came out and I said, really? I said, is that the fucking only word that the American public is going to think I can fucking say? And she goes, well, it is. You know? So we laugh, right? But yeah, so we're in this room and it's a command center and we're trying to get hunter grabbed first, right? And it becomes critical. He's the leader of the organization. If we grab him first, we know we don't want him to get away. He was la rouge right hand man on the security side. He was command and control for the mercenaries. And he was also extremely knowledgeable about other aspects related to things that may develop later on with people like and we haven't even talked about him. Dave Smith and different things like that. But he was also a real, I mean, he was an order taker extreme. He didn't question anything. He did whatever le roux wanted, right? Anything liber wanted as long as he got paid. He was a mercenary through and through. Okay. So we wanted to grab him first. So we had an idea of where they were. Le roux had had a safe house in Phuket. And we were set up on the safe house, but true to any form, you can't tell a fucking general from a goddamn foreign country. You need to listen to a couple fucking DEA agents about how they should handle shit in their country, right? Murphy can I'm sure appreciate that. So as we're waiting, this general goes, nah, we're getting a so and so meter hit on their phone. They're in that house. We're going fucking in. Now let me tell you, these little Thai commanders are badass motherfuckers, right? They're little badasses. They go in and they hit this house ain't a fucking soul there, right? There's all this stuff there for like, oh fuck, Eric and I, that's when that's when the pucker factor comes in for me and Eric, we're like, fuck, where is he? The first thing out the door, they go early, but you hit a dry hole. Yeah, you're like just like fuck. Right? And then we're like, Eric and I remembered, they like to play golf and there was a place near there where they played golf and one of the other guys was staying. So we start fucking doing fucking hits on we're tracking phones because we at use these phones and we were tracking our phones and we're looking at all this stuff and we're hitting and hitting them. He's like, not hitting. Fucking ty cops go fuck this. Boom. Hit the shotgun fucking door. We waited like two hours. I'm like, oh, they call me Jimmy grace was my boss at the time. He calls me and he goes. Tommy's not here. I said, you're fucking kidding me, Jimmy. Fuck you. Tell me he says, quick fucking with me. He's like, Tommy's not here..

"To vaccinated tourists from low risk countries at the beginning of next month. The country's prime minister announced the news last night, citing the urgent need to save the country struggling economy. For the pandemic, Thailand attracted nearly 40 million visitors each year, with tourism making up 20% of its national income. For more on this, I'm joined on the line by the Bangkok based journalist, Vincent vada con who writes for the South China morning post nikkei and The Guardian among others. Vincent good to speak to you. Talk to us about how these rules are changing. Well, it's interesting to see what the announcement was yesterday because there isn't a lot of information yet. We know that the country will be reopening across the country on November 1st to approximately ten countries. We don't know which countries yet. They mentioned a few. The UK, the U.S. Singapore, Germany. But we don't have the full list yet. And more importantly, we don't have the details on what the conditions are. The prime minister said the renal quarantine, but we don't exactly know what other conditions will apply. We mentioned the amount of visitors that normally come to Thailand each year, one of the most touristic places on the planet. Throughout the pandemic, Thailand tried a few different things that really didn't work out to reopen and to open with certain bubbles. But how bad has it been for the country? We mentioned that number of people, but also the GDP income that usually comes from tourism. What's it been like in the past year or so? It's been devastating. The number of unemployed and it's hard to track exact numbers because in the tourism industry in restaurants hospitality hotels, so much of the labor force is informal workers. So they're not necessarily documented in the system all the time. But some of the estimates run into millions of unemployed. And the numbers this year compared to, you mentioned in 2019 the last full year of travel, there were almost 40 million tourists in the 39.8 million arrivals in Thailand. This year, if we make a million, we'll be lucky. The last for the calendar year after the lockdown started, they were 28,000 tourists total. So the numbers are so small and so significant. One of the plans that people placed a lot of hope in the target a couple of months ago was the Phuket sandbox. So people going to the resort island of Phuket. Fully back to the tourists who are allowed to stay on the island for two weeks initially announced that's been reduced to one week. Before traveling around Thailand. And at least they weren't quarantined or hotel room. It was sort of a soft quarantine. And initially the projections were that there would be a 129 thousand tourists arriving in the first three months. That number was reduced to a 100,000 stop making projections. The actual number was closer to 40 and of which half were returning Thai residents, whether time nationals or foreign residents. You mentioned a lack of some clarity in the announcement was that expected. And what sort of criticism is the government getting for its communication and choice of strategy in this? I think that's a really good point. The government has never been very good at giving long-term plans. The prime minister announced a 101 120 day plan to reopen Thailand that date would have been this week. So it was a 128 would have been up. And of course, Simon is not reopened yet. And there are a lot of last minute announcements that people don't expect, especially as they relate to your lockdowns and restrictions, Bangkok went through two months of closures and most businesses being closed and restrictions being on movement and travel in and out of the province. And in the area. So and those were announced with 24 hours or less notice. And so people are very frustrated. People have been questions since the announcement last night. People have been questioning whether Bangkok and Thailand are really prepared. For the three opening, do we have a level of vaccination? That would allow that to happen safely. Nationally, I think the figures are now about 35% of population being double vaccinated. So fully vaccinated and the numbers are obviously higher in tourist areas where they've concentrated the effort? For example, the numbers are above 80%. Which experts tend to say is a safe, a safer level? But that's definitely not the case across the country. So people are a little confused and I think that that's the view from within Thailand. But if you're a traveler coming from outside of Thailand, it's also very confusing. If the rules can change and the conditions can change, I mentioned the initially that was a two week program and that it was a two week one week and put it in one week in one of the other tourist destinations like Caribbean or Samoa. And then that two weeks ago, this October 1st became just a 7 day quarantine. It's not quarantined a 7 day period that you had to stay in one destination before you could travel with a PCR test at the beginning and at the end. But again, these announcements are made with so little lead time somebody who is making that kind of travel plans can't put together all the paperwork and the tests and the things that they need to you can't just hop on a plane in consent. Vincent, thank you so much for this. We'll have to check in. Again, that was Vincent Vichy Vatican in Bangkok. You are listening to the briefing on Monica 24. Pandemics actually starred is a real thing I know for Pu. Deep, relationship to like. Happening now, yeah I mean. I know like I. Love Chiang Mai like which for those who don't link northern Thailand I left there like merch third, and even actually when I flew in like in February I mean the airport was like just so quiet, like eerie quiet, and the barely anyone asking me if I needed a ride, and then I flew in here like to the airport and Saigon. Like there's barely anyone being like. Oh, where do you know? Do you need to taxi? Taxi looked at it on I was just like Oh. Man and I mean I know. Thailand is so dependent on. Tourism and it's just. Well first of all. WHO Is definitely something a little bit different because we are an island so initially when this first started to really ramp up. They closed the main bridge from Kuku. The main islands then the next step was to start closing all the big ports and Renards, and then obviously the main international airport is now closed, so there is no leaving the islands For certain ex PATS and tourists that wants to go home they've actually been arranging like planes or specifically like Thailand kept Germany, or who cut to Ireland, so we have this like slow little trickle exodus like off the islands. So. For the past I don't know how long it's been maybe too close to two weeks. the island has slowly gone into kind of like an subdistrict lockdown, so the islands obviously Composed of all these different districts now each one is kind of under lockdown, and you have to stay within your subdistrict. You can't kind of travel without without having a certain reason like going to the hospital or something emergency So, we live in a fairly rural part of the island in the North East We actually do have a lot of space We kind of look into Kennedy's mounteney jungles. It's really spread out, so we actually don't the'll the. Constraints of this lockdown as much as we could if we are in a more urban area. that. Being said being in a more rural area. Fewer Amenities We have one major major grocery store as you know super cheap, and the aisles are like this slide and everyone. Twenty four hours, but it's always bumping so before the lockdown actually happened. We did like an Uber Grocery shop and we just really like we're just riding out so far, totally fine. They have been really vigilant about the lockdowns, and there's a curfew from I think ten PM to four am. And they have definitely like a arrested and find people which they're not guys like. Follow the rules, and actually they've gone house to house. A temperature checks so we had a knock on our door maybe last week..

"That's the foundation for economic education and the article here from them says that the world's first centers are now on the run for their lives. Now, what do they mean by ceased people who live on the permanently and not within the boundaries of any particular nation? That's what sort of was going on in the circumstance. These people had created a homestead that was outside of the twelve mile international. Limit just outside near. The municipality, unfortunately, named Phuket in is that came out here. Vietnam or Thailand Thailand believe and this one person here, I believe is in sort of nationalities tie. And they they were living this little sort of floating thing, and it was a a boat as we know it in the United States. No, this is this actually had it was a floating. Call the Spar I believe so this kind of weight there was like a cork with a house on top. Does not seem like a good idea. A great idea. Actually, it was the best design thing. So far anyone's come up with for a ceased at so. I stand corrected. Wave comes about goes up the wave down the way, right, right? When a wave comes to this thing the wave passes by this spindle that sticks out of the water. That's waited but buoyant all at the same time. So that it's so stays upright and then like the head of a pin waded into the water the house at the top. And when I use house, I'm using air quotes here. This thing was probably the width of larger fifteen seventeen feet. You pick your meters, they're five six meters wide, so a small pretty small and. Tag. This is this is not your your average house heterodox, Nicole to your normal domicile, and I had to do it was actually asked us, the Terminator. Folks. And they had this little spot. Apparently, they the twelve miles out, but they got a boat. Can travel in and out. And apparently it can be steered and directed right? It's not just. A stays in one location. Okay. As a matter of fact, they went out to find that they sank it out there by saying put it in the water. So it was up and down. And then they had to go find the darn thing later to put the house on top. That was quite a task. They're on the run for their live. Right. So let's go the story here from Brittany hunter? American software, developer, Chad. L war hausky, and his tiger friend subprime debt. History. Chad and sup is what I'm gonna go with history earlier this year when they abandoned their landlocked lives in barked on their shared journey. I know she has a nickname a camera was I've seen all their videos, by the way. Joining us pioneers. Living on a cease stead in the high seas living on a permanent floating dwelling in international waters was supposed to make them the phrase people in the world. Instead it made the mcharg if the government which is now threatening the couple with their lives. Working with ocean builders sort of his organization to some extent, they group of engineering focused on who built these structures. The couple used crypto currency to purchase there floating home. The heads builders.

"The Michael berry show never done that before tell me what you think what I think is. I can't understand what goes through that dude's mind. Tom, you're up go. Michael, I believe Nancy Pelosi and humor note xactly what they're doing. Flood our borders pithily Leylands. Live later down the road. Turn Arizona and Texas blue and Republicans will never win a nationwide election again for the next thirty years. Let's presume, you're right. Pretty cynical opinion. I hope you weren't. But let's let's presume you are right. How did they just come to that conclusion within a matter of months ago? I believe that's their new election strategy. They weren't gonna win Texas and Arizona. So let's let them with illegals, eventually, get amnesty. We'll get the vote. You know, we've already seen our Texas cities Austin Houston here San Antonio. And they've non-professional Hispanics, particularly on the lowest rungs of the socioeconomic ladder vote democrat at the point at which they get the franchise. We know that that didn't just start. I don't believe Democrats only discovered that. Since Trump became president. Right. But that's how that's why they change they said. Well, okay. What's our strategy? We got to win Texas. We can't win a national election without winning Texas. And now, even Arizona. You know, those electoral votes. So what do we do? Let's let them with illegals. We'll get amnesty. They'll become our voters. And that's fine. But Nancy Pelosi is one hundred and forty years old. She doesn't live long enough to see that. Well. I agree. But even. Pass that to the new congress and the and the newly elected, and that's just get passed out. This is what we need to do. This is our strategy. Yeah. I don't I don't believe that. Because I don't believe they care about what happens after they leave. I don't disagree. You're not first person. Who's is made this argument to me? And it's not a far fetched argument. But I I don't believe that's what's at stake. And the reason I say that. Is because well, let me say this. I think that if you're going I think that the result. Of allow of not stopping the problem as it is now, which is just crush of people at our wall in this continuous flow of illegal immigration and this didn't start two years ago. This this has been a long standing. Problem. Part of the problem is when you have a Latin American country. That falls into chaos. You then create a situation where you stir folks to leave. We're saying that in Venezuela, for instance. Columbia has become an incredibly stable democracy. In that region, replacing what Venezuela was oil-rich. Venezuela has fallen into an absolutely chaotic it's tragic. It really is tragic to watch the the pain that has been inflicted on the Venezuelan people by choices. If you're in Phuket, and as soon NAMI comes along and devastates the village, you can say, well, that's unfortunate. But that happens. Venezuela is the direct result of bad decisions. And you've seen these people displaced you've seen them flee. And that's happened in Guatemala. It's happened in Honduras. And I think a big part of what we're seeing with the Mexican migration is a lack of security. Well, it's it's a twofold. It's a lack of security occasioned by cartel violence. And it is the fact that the cartel has taken over the escort process. So if you wanna be escorted if you wanna get your avocados in Texas, you're gonna pay or California you're gonna pay the racket to get to to pay the toll to get through. And if you're going to flee the cartel violence. You're gonna play you're gonna pay the cartels through their agents to get you in. And they've created a very sophisticated. Look, it's the marketplace at work. The marketplace doesn't always respect or follow the law. But people will make rational decisions to engage in transactions for their own best interest or for their own desired interest. Even if their desires are not always what's in their best interest. What we're watching with illegal immigrants? If you think about it. Is people who are making a choice to better their lives. They're gonna make more money. They're going to have more opportunity. They're going to have a safety net. If they're going to traffic, then they're going to get paid big money to do that. And the marketplaces is stepping in and a very sophisticated network. These people are not just up and walk in. They're not ambling over there are tunnels. There are different networks. There are payoffs at the border. I mean, this is this is a really really sophisticated process. Just like the Narco trafficking and in large part by the narcotraffickers..
