"On KOMO news road trip or remote flyway adventures await continues. Here's Seth Wayne. All right. We welcome. You back to KOMO news. Just a programming notes that we will have our infamous mailbag show. I love when you send me all of your questions, I will be answering those and from the last time we had our mailbag show. I will literally say that we have hundreds of emails that have come in asking questions all across the board. Whether it comes to great international airfare, domestic airfare, train trips or just travel here locally, I will answer some of those questions for you this time next week right here on KOMO News Radio. But we want to talk more about our Windstar experience that was on board the windsurf. My photographer Kimberly is with us, Kimberly. Thanks again for being here. Thank you again for having me, so Canadian gal living inland growing up inland being on the lakes and on the river's first time in the ocean. First time to the Caribbean. It was my first time to the Caribbean. I had no idea what to expect definitely one of the things that I genuinely seemed kind of fake when we got there is just how blue that ocean. Is it looks like someone made like turquoise Kool-Aid? It's so true. I mean when we were flying in. So by the way, Windstar flies are Windstar cruises leaves out of Saint Martin rather than most of the cruise lines that go to Caribbean leave out of Fort Lauderdale or leave out of port Canaveral leave out of Galveston, Texas. There are a lot of domestic locations, Miami, Florida that cruises leave out of Windstar leaves out of the Caribbean itself. So it is a little bit of a hall to get there. So keep that in mind. So if that's not on your list of things, I mean, it's a long haul from Seattle to go down to Saint Martin we flew from Seattle to Philadelphia connected. Philadelphia say Martin I my philosophy is if you're flying somewhere what's another couple of hours. Honestly, that's kind of how I felt is really not that bad. I mean the flight wasn't bad. But you keep in mind that Windstar does go out of Saint Martin. So we. Fly to Saint Martin. And as we were coming in. It was unreal. The water gets more aqua and more blue and more turquoise. And you look in your like is this is this real life. When we were when we are flying in when we were about to land in Saint Martin. I remember just being like we can't we can't be landing soon because we're still over this like absolutely beautiful ocean. There's no way that there's an island that we're right to land on we look like we're about to hit the it's so I mean, and then when you're literally landing it's all of a sudden the beach and then the airport, and that's it. I mean that is all you do. So they have an infamous airport beach where people get so close it's like you can reach up and touch the wheel. I mean, I'm exaggerating a little bit, but not as much barely very barely famous speech. If you just Google Saint Martin airport beach. You will see all of these pictures that come in and literally glides right over the crowd. We land in Saint Martin we go through customs, and then we end up spending the night on the French side of the island. And unfortunately, I will tell. You that Saint Martin was devastated by hurricane Irma. I mean, absolutely devastated to say, the least it was really difficult to see some of that. But it was really impressive to see. How much people have rebuilt in such a short period of time. Indeed for sure Saint Martin is like two islands in one. So keep that in mind. So you have the French side, which whereas where we stayed and it's very very French. And by the way, you got to bring in some of your French. Yeah. So it's a little bit of a touch because it's kickoff French from Canada. So. Better than bonds. Your like, I was very American French people. There were very very nice about him. They were kinda like all right? What's this Canadian girl? It got us through it got us through we the French all about sidewalk cafes. Very very Frank. Very unique. We ate at a great place. It was awesome. Are our very first night. We were just kind of walking around. And we were like, oh, let's let's pop into this place. And I think we we had this creme brulee for dessert that we literally the entire trip. We were like, let's find other creme brulee and have a comparison. Are it was definitely the phenomena was unbelievable. So we ended up going from the French side. They're spending the night, and then waking up the next morning and going into the Dutch side, which is in Philipsburg Philipsburg there the capital of the Dutch side, and that's where the cruise ships leave out of. So when we get to the French side we see the cruise ships out in the distance. What was your first thought my first thought when I saw this cruise ships. I was I there so huge they are genuinely so so huge and we're walking up on the pier. And I was like oh my God. These are these look like little cities like they look like if someone took a skyscraper in like tilted it on its side. Right. That's exactly what they I mean. They're exactly that you stood them up. Right. They'd be weight baby weight taller than the than the space. Needle easily. Oh, absolutely. I think I think we were talking about it and the bigger cruise ships are like three times the size of the tunnel was born in. No, it's true. Right. Exactly. So imagine all of that. Okay. So then we we're continuing on closing in. We see those big ones. And then all of a sudden we see the wind surf, and we'll tell you all about the windsurf, and how cute it is coming up after the break..

$273 million lottery winner has Good Samaritan to thank

"I think he's Philipsburg right across the river from eastern Pennsylvania Phillipsburg, New Jersey who just hit the mega millions jackpot. Mike were ski couldn't have been more of a slacker a deadbeat. Yes. Lifetime unemployed. He basically said I've always been a bomb, but now going to be a beach bum. I'm telling you. If you talk about a guy was so lucky. So lucky let Mike in his own words, describe what transpired to make him. Now, a guy who probably is to want to leave New Jersey as Murphy's raising the attack on the millionaire one hundred sixty two million lump song day again hundred and sixty two. Guber is dressed next. Stop will be the North Carolina, South Carolina. He'll be buying a NASCAR team. Anyway, let suicide in to the winner. Here recently got divorced in October. And I followed her around for fifteen years and she worked and I did. Also since I've been back and trying to find a job in jersey. Nobody hires me because I don't have a history. Fifty four year for job that I felt was worth it. And they only my phone's been blinking all kinds of things never got an interview in a year and a half yesterday. I got my first interview job interview. And I had to deny before even when he's fifty four years old. He has been following around his wife who works at a utility company. She's not making millions of dollars. I mean, he's just he's above working for a year and a half. He refuses to get a job yet. He's going to take her money. So they've they've recently been divorced. She not only had to pay him a lump sum again prior to finding out that he won the lotto, but she has to pay spousal support. So the question is is this guy going to tell her I'm gonna give you back not only the lump sum that you gave me after you've been taking care of me for the last fifteen years. But in addition to that, please don't pay me spousal support. And I'm actually going to give you some money. You think he's going to do that? So having one two hundred seventy three million then. Government obviously takes at least half of that with what he's left with. He should not only pay back all the spouses support. He was living off of fifteen years. She admits I have a job for fifteen years. I was pimping off my wife, but sweetener up to because she stuck with him. Do what had to be some really hard time. Well, I I was married to somebody who just couldn't get a job. They just nothing was good enough for them. And it is really, you know, and I had to pull me got divorced. I had to pay him a nice fat lump sum, and I sit there, and I go my God. Spousal would. I had. No, I didn't pay spouse. I paid a lump sums I never had to talk with this guy again. Wow. This is the same guy that had a child that. I never knew about I know, but still on this show Mason. Whereas we don't sit. There are some women. It's mostly men who play spousal support. But there are some women now. Oh, yeah. Who end up being told by the judge guess what not only am I the divorce here. But you're going to have to support the guy who was your husband who did nothing. Nothing ten years fifteen years. He just sat there. He couldn't find a job Philip Shwe. Yeah. I mean, it's so, ladies and gentlemen, is the guy that's just walked away with one hundred sixty million how much should he give to his ex wife one eight hundred four eight WABC that's one eight hundred eight four eight nine two two two by the way, she Eileen her name is she said that it doesn't matter. She has no interest in ever getting back together with this guy. She's just saying look. I want him to do the right thing. I mean, and she's not straight coming out saying he needs to pay me money back. But I mean, that's I'm saying that anybody who has any morals or ethics is saying that geisha, that's any jerk response. She hates this guy. Loathes this guy. This guy was dead. Slacker just was a drag on her entire life. She finally gets a decree a divorce. Now some way is gonna approach. This is what's going to happen? Juliette as much as she's taking the moral high road. Now, I don't want a stinking penny of you two hundred seventy. I'm not saying that she's just saying I don't I'm not going to want to get back together with you not saying that she won't take money. Right. But she's implying that I don't need your money. You know, I'm okay. But I guarantee you some lawyers gonna get their hooks into her. I hope they do. And there's going to be a major lawsuit. They do this guy says this guy sounds like he just sat there and didn't do a damn thing and just lived. I mean, some of the comments I'm saying this because of the comments that he made in his press conference. Here's what else he has at his press conference. I was very surprised. I look for three hours at home and didn't even realize going back down Thursday. But when I went there, I figured when I woke up Friday morning. I was like well just another thing I lost. And I went down there where they were there. I was just very happy. And I couldn't believe it. So a good Samaritan. Who's in the same convenience store ceased to tickets that he bought he walked out. He such a, you know dim rod. Oh, my God this guy, he leaves it on the counter the good Samaritan picks it up tracks him down. So he had so he literally had left and this. Wow. And so they track. Tickets. If you want him or he would have lost out on this on this store injured in thirty three million dollars. Okay. So the next question is this good Samaritan? Obviously he knows who this person is. Now does this guy this guy or woman needs a nice fat reward? Thank you how much I guarantee. This guy's not going to do it. How much did he give the guy who found these two tickets steady left back into convenience store on the counter 'cause he's such a dim Roddy? Walked out not even thinking twice about it. This guy made one hundred and sixty two million. That's how much he's taking home in the lumps without without this guy. He

If this ends up with some kind of dual situation could be the last time you for me Julie, no telling another item on the tannery entertainment in the silver dollar saloon. I don't. I don't know what that means entertainment, but it needs to mean basically exactly what I see on Westworld or any western saloon situation ever. I need there to be people passed out on tables. I needed to began bling. I needed to be poker. I need to be roulette. Hookers lots of prostitutes everywhere I need. I not for me to us, but just for the setting, that's the vibe I expect from a place called the silver dollar saloon am I gonna get that? I'd be shocked. What will I get? "And how uh the whole government operates we've added eighteen years of crap okay and that includes the bush administration and the old and the obama administration eighteen years of crap and immediately we put a new guy in and we throw all the problems of those eighteen years on his shoulders and say that he is responsible for all the racism division and divisive policies and the reason why we're at war with one another no looking back eighteen years were nine eleven happen and they never gave us an opportunity to hill to heal no goal of back of the apoplexy that we've been having in this country since the obama administration has been in power and now we do this and and we're all bent out of shape over hillary clinton which of course we look at hillary clinton and how she operated anything she touched and her husband they all did it by blackmailing dossier a bullying and and going back to the whole birther thing i was talking about this the other day with somebody you're saying that in my uh in my wikipedia pages says i'm a birther says i'm out of birther we'll says you are because of what you said an article i said i didn't say that i believe the barack obama was born in kenya that he shouldn't be president i said that even if he was born in kenya it wouldn't matter because his mother worked for the government and then i said something in fact as as and when you want to believe that donald trump is responsible for the birther situation you you need to go through history and find out that a man by the name of philipsburg who's a hillary clinton supporter was the guy who organized the truth or movement to try and get brock obama out of power so hillary could be president that's that is an underhanded move it hillary clinton would have done she washes their hands of everything let's her own supporters go out and try to dig dirt on other people that's why i think people are craving v non politician complete outsider but you can't steve off to the side of the researchers nobody knows and so the only people that have that don't need the media to make them somewhere everyone cares about our people that are already famous than celebrities and i think that kind of the draw and.

"Typically what happens is that an limited to man after they study um the talmud in the tora which are the kind of the foundational tax of judaeism that give the laws and how you should live your life and a daytoday way then you sort of are able to study and and really think about the the mysteries of the universe in that is through the study of kabala so the primary text is dissolved har um but there are a number of tax that go along with that and it's sort of like once you've pager dues as a serious orthodox man then you're able to finally engage in the study of kabala the kabbalah center is just one of many um practices around studying kabbalah so when people talk about kabbalah that's you know ton of scholars a ton of work the kabbalah centers very specific study of kabala that actually doesn't always have a ton to do with traditional kabbalah so i'm wondering how the teachings of the cabello center are different from traditional kabbalah in sort of how the kabbalah center got started the kabbah's center was started by a rabbi name rabbi philipsburg he was actually an insurance salesman who lived in brooklyn and he had seven children with his first wife and her uncle's lived in israel and they were very famous uh rabbis that top kabala over there so he kind of got into kabbalah when visiting israel but he came back to america he had his you know he was selling insurance out of brooklyn and his second wife karen who used to be his secretary she was sort of the person that said.
