"Whether you think that there are structural reasons. Why geothermal is having challenges scaling right as you know, geothermal has been a widely tested in widely successful technology for decades. But when you think about the solution set climate change broadly geothermal is not often thought about is a technology that can really scale to meet the challenge. And to be fair. This is this is true. The challenge in Jeff foam is that most of the resources off find and certain huts bones of the world. So for example, these African Rift Valley as as a as a tectonically active area of this world where you you find your foam oil resources somewhat close to the surface naturally. Make it more economic to derive those resources the same can be set in the rest of the United States all going down through Central America and South America and Sheila, for example in through. Or in the Caribbean, for example, or in Indonesia, and the Philippines, Japan and New Zealand. So these are let's say the the markets where you find the resources closer to the surface in allowing them to be derived in an economic raid. Elsewhere, it is more challenging and more costly, and there have competitive situation with other technologies renewable office and the question is basically how policies are set up to support renewable energy development, or at least give it a chance, and Jim Thome has really found.

"So Sam from financial samurai. Welcome to the bigger gets money. I'd cast. Thank you Mindy. Thank you, Scott. I'm so excited to have you. I have known you or known you for at least six years. I know that your blog has been around in that. But for those of you listening who made enough a million with financial center, can you walk us through where your journey with money begins because I really love your story. Well to start my parents were in the US foreign service. So I grew up over Steve's in countries, like Malaysia, Philippines, Japan and Taiwan and Zambia. And so when I was growing up I was really aware of that economy between the wealthy and the not wealthy, especially in Malaysia. When I was in middle school. I would have friends who are very poor family and five living in a studio. And then we were living in diplomat housing provided by the government, and it was just much nicer sites. From a really young age. I just realized wow, there's so much poverty and wealth out there at the same time coexisting, and I decided when I was a kid that I didn't wanna be poor. I wanted to be comfortable I wanted to be rich. And so it was from middle school onward. I really try to think more about money, and my parents were always really really frugal, for example. We would go out to a restaurant and my dad would always scold me for trying to order a drink because he would say, hey, that's like the highest margin product at a restaurant. So just have some lemon Watterson and save us some money and be smart about it. And that was one of my first memories as a kid about money after that, I came to the United States for high school and college I went to the college of William and Mary in Williamsburg Virginia. So is the south not the deep cell, and there I was a minority there as there's only like five percent Asian folks there, whereas when I was living in Asia, we were majority and after studying economics and Mandarin. I decided to join Wall Street and join Goldman Sachs in New York City in nineteen ninety nine. Wow. Going from the middle school is what you kind of started thinking about this. You know to get a job at Goldman Sachs out of college requires a pretty big commitment through high school and college, right? You gotta be pretty good grades. And that's got to be something that you're kind of gunning for throughout both of those things is that was that a goal of yours going into high school as a result of your kind of experiences growing up in middle school and earlier. So in middle school goal was to be a businessman because I would go to these random events and parties that my parents are take me to and we'd go to these really nice house parties with like pool some news of the hills and the city lights, and I always ask my dad. What are these guys do for a living? And he said while they're businessmen. One produced a beverage during an other produced instant noodles and another was a chicken farmer. So the chicken farmer are we checked out his factory before not not really at sexy place. But you know, he drove a Jaguar. Wow, dad. This is so cool. Meanwhile, my parents are so fertile. They owned a painless nineteen Seventy-six Nissan Datsun. I remember this to this day because I stole the car one midnight evening with my buddies. And we took it out for a spin one A M and hubcap fell off. Fell out because those monsoon season in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia..

"This is roughly the equivalent of starting up a jet engine. This was at the height of the storm, the rain and wind as captured from inside a car. Again, Panama City after devastating, Florida's panhandle, hurricane, Michael continues its rampage through parts of Georgia tonight though as a much lesser storm. Bill Karen's remains with us with the very latest Bill Ryan, just watching that video. It's starting to confirm a a lot of the thoughts, a couple of the storm chasers that I know well, that actually travel the globe. They go to the Philippines Japan. They go river. There's big storms. They drove from Panama City to Mexico beach, and they said, it's some of the worst wind damage they've ever seen and the fact that they're saying they had ever seen. I mean, they have been in all the biggest storms in the last thirty years. On the globe. So I don't think we've seen come close to seeing the worst damage and destruction with the video that we have. Now, it's a sampling, but I think it's gonna get worse. One person was saying half the structures that he saw in Panama City. We're extremely damaged. So this is the image I froze. This is what everything was really starting to get real. This is when the worst of the damage was one pm this afternoon. This is Panama City on the backside of the eye. And then this is Mexico beach who was in that front right quadrant of it. This is where the worst storm surge was with the wind. This is where it was mostly just a win problem in the Panama City area on the back side and the result of all of this. When we brought this on shore, it was still intensify hundred, fifty, five, mph winds. This is the preliminary report. We'll get the official report and a couple of months when they get in there and they analyze all the damage and they see how the metal was bent or all the little examples of the strength of the winds. But this puts it fourth all time adding on Andrew and Camille in the Labor Day storm. Yeah, stronger than Charlie stronger than Katrina. As far as the max winds, then lowest pressure ever measured this was in the keys. Obviously Camille is pretty much our country's worst storm ever in then Michael is now third on the list head of Andrew with a lower pressure. If it had only had maybe another three or four hours over water, we definitely would have seen going up to a cat five. It was still getting stronger, and now we have to watch out overnight is yes, we have a little bit of wind damage problems that we're going to get with trees falling in central Georgia. We have a new additional tornado watch that's issued almost for all of South Carolina isolated tornadoes at worse. As we go throughout the overnight. You notice the winds right now are not that bad fifty-six Eastman's probably the worst of it. Maybe some isolated damage to the trees. They're most likely just trees that have already gone down. So Brian, we, besides the records, I just showed you one of the, everyone's been saying it's the strongest ever to hate the northern panhandle of Florida. I think the fact that this is the strongest storm we've ever had ever recorded in the month of October. Is a pretty impressive record and not just did we barely break it. The previous strongest was one hundred and thirty mile per hour winds. This was one fifty. Five. I've seen pictures of the middle school in Panama City. The gym has no walls left. You could see the basketball court. We're gonna you'll. We'll see a lot more. Unfortunately when the sun comes up and we'll see pictures like this and what damage was left behind and as you saw, we are going to see rose in fields and forests of down trees probably for about two or three hundred miles from where it made landfall because the I stage compact for at least six hours for about one hundred fifteen miles after landfall. It's still remained category two or three. Yeah, join you in our thoughts going to Mexico beach tonight for what will be exposed with sunup tomorrow. Bill Cairns. Thank you for all of your hours of coverage on this network. Coming up a rare glimpse of the people who's quiet work in the store. Zone helped to save lives.

"There is a very strong historical revisionism that gets unleashed on television in the united states and unfortunately in newspapers like the new york times when we talk about the situation between the koreas to what extent does the sort of propaganda that americans have been subjected to since the start of the korean war play in our perception of the threat from north korea it's more than a revisionist history it's distorted history and it's in a razor assistant matic ratio of what happened let's start with how korea was divided let's even go a little bit further back and in nineteen o five in the tuft cut ceuta act in which the us and japan agreed to look the other way as the us colonize hawaii and the philippines japan invaded and colonized korea and so you have from nineteen ten to nineteen forty five a brutal japanese occupation typical example of the native corean followed the dominion of japan what he firmly declines to admit periodicity of japan intellectual and moral culture over his own applebees empire here in the new palace amid the regal lender departy or off the former came korea on the body of his japanese monsters my parents grew up in that era they had to speak japanese they had to take japanese names that they just lived in poverty so you take that period of being under japanese clone you'll rule and at the end of of world war two and japan is defeated after the bombing of nagasaki and hair shema the koreans are awaiting their liberation they view the americans as there to help free them off.
