"In Philadelphia sports that played here and you could put him back in one of these teams right now and they're in their prime and I just I I look at is I a Reggie white on the eagles defense makes them number one the NFC east favorites by far I think Dallas right now slightly better than the eagles but you take what you what you put in here that's over eagles by far the favor the NFC east and you put Reggie white here but think about last year think about last year in the NFC the one player if there was one player that change the the forecast of the entire conference last year was Nick Bosa right the forty Niners taking the number two overall pick in the NFL draft any change to that team he changed their defense he changed they're they're really the franchise one pass rusher in the NFL could do that and Nick poses a wonderful player he might be on his way to a hall of fame career will say he Reggie white is ever gonna be Reggie white but a defensive presence like that a true pass rusher and one that dominated the NFL during a great time in the NFC which was Reggie white in the eighties early nineties I put in here this eagles offensive line and we are changing the franchise two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four all rounder Reggie white Tucker one plus Dr Jay and put him on the Sixers right out I'll tell you what though I I read is my pick I I would I be seated glued to my seat of Dr James play for the six that's it's a fun one I I think great Jeez the better answer that's my answer but doctors a finance I think Reggie is probably the better player like if I were to rank them he's like Reggie ahead of Dr J. by think doctor changes the dresses such a huge glaring weakness and Dr J's a guy where I think most people have heard about Dr J. you hear a lot of the lower about Dr J. you watch documentaries about Dr J. but I've never seen him play live right well a lot of people have never seen him outside of the few highlights to be able to watch him on an eighty two game schedule I think it would be unreal all right we got two one five five nine two nine four nine four I go Reggie and Tucker when Dr Jay Kishan is up on WB without Kishan Hey we don't good man we got who who's your go you put back on one of the issues right now are you so like when I look at wide receivers in the NFL I think handle the most important but also high every Carol Carmichael right now like imagine him across from John Jackson the end in jail on regular the slot that with the key so that's a good one that would change things and it would give Wentz something he hasn't had it a couple years which is you know legitimate weapons I mean you have to Sean and and prime Harold Carmichael now we're talking like if we look at like one hell comical played passing was like completely like like it wasn't looked at as a cut now we're in a completely passing week and I have like the tallest player on the field and you just throw up like you can just jump balls to him and like catch are you gonna post it's a cut I like that one and it keeps our pre circles occasion goes Harold Carmichael which every time I look at her Carmichael's numbers I am more impressed because kitchen is major look the the NFL during heralds time was not a passing league it wasn't a time where you were throwing the ball forty fifty times a game on on the average of the routine which now I wonder what the average temps were per game last year for quarterback if you know it we know it's growing by the year we we know the average passing is growing by the year in the NFL but I'm looking at right now in nineteen seventy three hello Carmichael had sixty seven receptions one thousand one hundred sixteen yards averaged sixteen point seven yards per catch seventy nine point seven yards per game like that is for nineteen seventy three I would think the equivalent Tucker of that is probably a hundred catches fifteen hundred yards and and probably hundred yards a game yeah so if you look at the what average quarterbacks have done so in nineteen seventy three the average quarterback went twelve for twenty four for a hundred and forty arts open house the average line for a quarterback that season worst last year was twenty two of thirty five for two thirty five so you're nearly doubling a let every statistic yeah eleven more attempts per game but way more completions per game yeah I mean you're looking at doubling your completions per game from going to ten to twenty two that's that's twelve more so you're thinking yet at least a hundred catches yeah I mean that you know you bet your best player if I'm gonna get through three or four of those extra ten catches and you have cornerbacks who can't really hang on to your rate for big physical guy like Carol Carmichael that would help and not only that but passing offense has come a long way since nineteen seventy three railing the concept that they used back then a completely updated yeah I mean now you get guys the ball the line of scrimmage at a run a little bit I like that with two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four let's talk to Dan who is up on WPA Dan eight hours what's up man we thinking here Mike Schmidt do you bring in prime Mike Schmidt but a third base for the Phillies absolutely got a team captain and he got it back I don't see how it would show that you have played baseball he would lead by example and then I you don't think about how they get about the combination of Harper batting three and you could bat Schmidt for like but I I agree sauce is a pretty good offense a player but but he has so many holes in his swing goes into somebody some say if you swap him out and put Schmidt for changes everything if you if you could move him around you can reach us can come around I've been watching the Phillies for awhile I live in Allentown I've been watching him when he was a reading J. back Infront of him are back behind and that's consistent if you're Harper Schmidt around and these guys are going to destroy people nobody's gonna want to venture out you got a home run going out at park in one she knows back in one of those one yeah I know it's fair again I I love that one uprooted the focal here's your thing and I agree with that I'm not I am much more worried about Rhys Hoskins long term that I think a lot of people I I think he's he's certainly a good offense a player he out when you combine his walks in his power is going to be a good off its power for a long time I'm worried about the defense surrenders and I just wear but the slobs but you don't you know I like Rhys Hoskins a lot better if you wasn't so important you know you know burl to each I think it's compared to a lot offense it could pepper one pepperoni was your four three most important have the Phillies were winning anything all of a sudden she we came along and Howard came along and then eventually Jason worth came along like that they need for Pat burl to carry you compose Kerry was way less and I agree with Dan is that the same thing could happen for Reese I think that throwing there if if she if you push it back in the forties right now you have a great defensive player in real needs are very good defense plan revolves removed so you have a great defensive player and Schmidt in the Philly defense I think the last couple years was horrific and then I thought last year was probably a little below average in its totality you start you start making that a good defensive team if you put it out there two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four that is a good a board here let's grab we got Neelam Bristol what's up Neil Hey how you doing good deal what's up I'm not that I think I got a flyer that said it would change to change the face of the serpent Walkley who got tremblers I'll but Neil he hasn't played here the last fifty years for your safety thank you Watson fifty years that is after us yeah he hasn't been here for the last fifty which which I think is is hard to imagine now because the years have passed but yeah will hasn't played or less fifty now Angelo this morning didn't care he put well number one it is let's see he's just breaking all the rules I'm here to tell us what you know what I mean yeah he he doesn't he's not describing his rule but but I thought that is the question now see his last year he was the sixty seven sixty eight season that he went out to LA after that R. I didn't realize that yeah you know about that not even the let's all right let's I I imagine appreciate I took I mean if we will because we get tonight five four I mean we're on pace for what twelve yeah look I think it's I think it's natural to think of him still the indigo is the greatest athlete Philadelphia's had one of the greatest athletes will be sad I I wouldn't put him one but one of the greatest athlete's foot up he's ever had end I think it's hard to match the many years gone by but has moved his players cited sixty eight yeah it's weird that fifty years ago was nineteen seventy the seventy or fifty years like that should be like thirty years ago I still imagine my mind everything's two thousand well you know it means it means anyone born in the seventies at some point this decade they will turn fifty because that's how agent that's exactly how it works and it's been more than fifty years since that will generally guy was here in Philadelphia two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four you take any out the last fifty years is we are starting to go to Broad Street terming the twenty best athletes Philadelphia sad last fifty years you can take any athlete last fifty years nineteen seventy now and take them put them in their prime and they're back on one of these teams that we go with two one five five nine two nine four nine four Tucker what would Dr J. Julius Erving I'm gonna read you why a Reggie white Fletcher **** divide our great Willie Jackson Brandon Graham Derek Barnett defensive line now we are talking to one five five nine two nine four nine four will come back your phone calls and the latest on Major League Baseball who brought the proposal today by the owners or the players well it sounds evocative except sportsradio ninety four W. I picked when using Philly.

"Wi Fi Zhou Giulio with you, Tucker Bakley Behind the call you about the glass you guys would ask to 1559 to 94 94. I guess I could could be behind the calls. If not for Tucker answering the calls. They don't get on the board. I can't. I mean, you're kind of behind the calls. Yeah, in the center. Part of my job. In a sense. Yeah. You are behind all the calls without you that they don't get up there. We can't talk to people. Um all right quickly or what to watch for. Sponsored by Xfinity. The fast Internet filled up in the sponsor of our Xfinity X one lounge and watching for the football tomorrow? Well, it's only two games but should be too interesting game, including one With a lot of interest will have in how it determines the NFC East Washington at Dallas coming up at around 4 32 marks. That's what I'm watching for. I'm gonna go back to all the phone calls here we have the Carson was discussion debate I don't believe is gonna make it to the full season is the quarterback to you and give us some you're thankful for in Philadelphia Sports will get you in the mix for the pizza Adelphia three gift card. Cooking, though this is from my Doug Peterson haters out there, then the guy is dumb and kid coach, And it's his fault that Carson wants to turn into a pumpkin. So Brian Baldinger on with marks of Reese every Tuesday or Wednesday, whatever today is, but his own works. Reese at four. I'm a talker him off. It wasn't here yesterday. Get it? You take a day off on a three day week. He can't handle it. It's fine. Listen, I I mean, it only works in our on Monday. I got a lot of wins takes in my head. I got to get out with 4 10 o'clock and give me a break anyway, it's Wednesday tonight. Baldy was on this afternoon. I heard it live in real time. And this stuff This stood out to me. Marks as my great question like Hey, how much this on Doug Peterson. And how much is it? His scheme, play calling contribute to Carson Wentz here. Is what Brian Baldinger said. I don't I don't see a problem. The game playing John honestly mean that they don't sustain offense long enough to really get into a lot of game plans. They're just trying to, you know, they ran the ball pretty well in the first half. We didn't want it. Well, you know, in the fourth quarter, and also that kind of fell apart, Um, you know, there's a lot of negative runs and first down runs where you're gaining a yard of losing yards. It's difficult to go to another run, so it's difficult to find a rhythm. You know if you're done, but you know the throws to stay on the field on third down there. They're there to be made and No quarterback has got to come through. I mean, just You have to say that's all about the quarterback, but a lot of cases it really is. And it comes down to fundamentals. It comes down to technique. It comes down to what are you looking at? And what is the play designed to do? And that's where your eyes got to go. And that means reading coverage. So the ball's anticipation taken to throw that's there. All that stuff. And so you know, if I've dug like, I don't know, like that. Great Harry Scott can get greater. I mean, you know, can you? Can you pulling those things out? I mean, that's that's what you know, keeps quarterback coaches up at night. Ism indigestion and you gotta go. You got all kind of an ass is in your back pocket. Throws air there to be made. You heard it there from Brian Baldinger. Aaron isn't Drexel Aaron. Was going on, fellas. How you guys Good, Aaron, what's up tonight? Don't get it. Can't complain me first Start off by saying number one thankful for life. The more to thank for that The Philadelphia 76 elected took a word bread. Brown number ground, Doc rivers as they're gay Coach once in the bread brown go was the Larry of who they were gonna hire had some people that would like one of them higher. I think they got the right coach for the two players that we need to help grow mature. They got a good coach for sure. They hired a good GM. So yeah, I'm with you on that, Aaron. I'm thankful the Sixers hire some smart people this offseason. Yes. Now in regards to the eagle situation. I'm putting the blame on both that in Carson, I don't think it's I don't think it's a negative between either right. I think you can go. Either way. Carson has been playing terrible football. Bad throws like that. That's on him. Bathrobes, bad sex and I hate the way he takes sex. I think he's gonna get hurt. The way he takes sex with his injury history as number one Doug for his play call, and we want a duck breast plate calling, looking at the game. I'm actually a package hand, but I root for the Eagles as well. Looking at his play call is very reminiscent of the old Ranger replay calling where Ah lot of the wireless evil routes were like 10 and 15 yard round patterns right with bum. Why receivers that couldn't get open so that forced Donovan McNabb Who have you remember, also had a problem. Quote, quote holding the ball too long because he was always constant waiting for his my receivers to get open. I think Carson situation right now, if he's holding the ball too long, because he's hope he's waiting for the wide.

"You get five different pizzerias tri pi from for just $25. We're gonna give you one of those passes tonight. You know, I thought we needed to do so because there's so much that's gone wrong in this town and 2020 for our our teams so much right. The Eagles have gone to hell in the 36 and won. The Phillies went from a couple years ago thinking that baseball we thought baseball was back in Philadelphia. And now that I finished in last place in 2021 of the least like things are not great. Ondas. Six, obviously got bounced the first round and not it's It's not been a banner year for Philadelphia sports, but I thought tonight as we get ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow, I thought when you call in and we get in the mix for A pass to Pete's Adelphia. Three. Give us something in Philadelphia sports that you are actually thankful for. You don't have to think on this one. I know it's not easy right now because there hasn't been a ton, but we're all thankful for something. I will start us off, and that's why I want to bring it up now because Sharon just brought out Jason Kelsey. I'm thankful for Jason Kelsey. He's gonna make his 1/100 straight start on Sunday. Jason Kelsey is an awesome player. I think he's got a real chance to make the Hall of Fame if you want to keep playing. But a couple years he's close and all time Eagle and I said, watch that guy put Tucker when he was out there Sunday, and he couldn't even strap his chin strap up. That's wild that I thought I was watching, and I thought in the opposite of when the game was like if they win. And he does like this. That would be a Jason Kelsey Lord game like we remember the game. He came back and couldn't his chin strap on and they still wanted. He played. Well, uh, that guy's just he's a great eagle. Member when people are ready to run him out of town. I know that's going to be glossed over in the history books now because of the Super Bowl in the parade in that speech and being back to Baghdad first team all pro but Prior to 2017. It was kind of just assumed he'd play that year out and then be cut, and that would be it for him like the fact that he's now turned it around and It's kind of maybe honest way to a Hall of Fame career. The three straight pro Bowls back to back first team all pro if he can do that again. He's definitely on the precipice of something. It's unbelievable how much his career and how he was ever bad. But the fact of his career's turned around to the point in the city that he's gone from being Possibly run out of town to being an all time fan favorite is unbelievable. And now I can't imagine the Eagles were Adam. Like I know at some point soon, they're gonna have to replace it, and I can't imagine how they're going to do that. He's been that good to 1559 to 94 nights. When you call in. We'll talk Wednesday. You believe he'll be the Eagles quarterback the entire season? I don't anymore and give us something in Philadelphia sports that you actually thankful for. Right now, because there's been a lot of not great this year, but they were all of summer thing for what's yours. What do you think before in Philly Sports. Get in the mix for the pizza, Adelphia three tickets. And do you believe Carson Wentz will be the Eagle starter all year? I do not anymore. I think they're gonna make a switch. And it just a matter of when not if 21559 to 94 94. That is how you hop aboard on sports Radio and 94, Wi PE and Thanksgiving. My favorite days of the year. I can't.

Kobe Bryant Dies in Helicopter Crash

"NBA superstar in Philadelphia native Kobe Bryant was killed this morning in a helicopter crash in California that's according to multiple news news outlets outlets and and it it was was first first reported reported by by TMZ TMZ authorities authorities say say that that five five people people were were on on board board when when the the helicopter helicopter went went down down this this morning morning near near Calabasas Calabasas California California now now Brian Brian was was born born in in Philadelphia Philadelphia and what's a lower Merion high school where he ended his high school career and south and southeastern Pennsylvania is all time leading scorer right played his entire twenty year NBA career after being taken thirteen in the nineteen ninety seven NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets he was later traded to the Los Angeles Lakers where he spent his entire twenty year career he won five NBA championships five NBA championships with the Lakers and now we will actually will head over to add banking from of art for a cable to use that bank and for more information when you're talking about Kobe Bryant you're talking about someone who as really become a legend in our region and of course he spent most of his career the Lakers and there was a time when the Lakers play the Sixers in the finals where it seems like he kind of became the whole little bit at least on the court but Kobe Bryant never lost touch with his roots here in Philadelphia and it was great to see you people may remember the end of his career with the Lakers his last year in with the team he got such a rousing send off innovation in this last game here in Philadelphia against the seventy Sixers and I think if there are any doubts about how old this year it was still important him or not that was cleared up very quickly and I think as time went on he certainly was very clear about his love for this year even though he'd want ally and been obviously part of the Lakers in their championship over the Sixers and his roots here going as high school time as well just devastating if of course confirmed someone who who did put time into the community did not forget his roots and a right now I I it would be just a tremendous loss and you're talking about a real legend when you talk about people from Philadelphia sports figures their sports figures who came to Philadelphia and became famous the Mike Schmitz of the world people like that and then the Kobe Bryant's likable chamberlains who grew up in play high school ball here and even then in his case going elsewhere still became a legend in Philadelphia so just devastating news for someone who is really been a huge part of the community and and this one here I think is going to hit hard for a lot of people and stick for a long time nine it in Edgar's you brought that up you when he announced his retirement because I was actually covering that game when he came in for that night for the Sixers in the amount of love that Kobe received it almost felt like it was all was forgiven for what occurred for one for the six for the six years of being beat in two thousand one he really was a very much beloved figure in Philadelphia thank you so much as a bank I think you hit on the head J. that night at eight try to clear off any thoughts of well this you still feel like part of the love you because there are athletes were from this area players even managers who maybe don't have a disdain for full of you in Italy but builder lives elsewhere that might show supports the measure the angels he's from the area and and he didn't just like Philadelphia but he built his life elsewhere Kobe Bryant went out west and still kept the Lafia and big part of his life and you mentioned that night you could feel it in the building that it was a city that knows that someone that legendary was coming home for the last time at least as a player the the appreciation for both ways it was clear and that it was a really a wonderful moment considering what happened during the finals when Kobe didn't get as warmer reception obviously because he said they they want to come in and use some words about how much they want to beat the Sixers but Hey that's what you're supposed to do if you're for the visiting team and I think people understood that I think both sides what a chance to say Hey yeah he loves Philadelphia he wants people to know that he cares about his roots and that night I I think you're right on the head the fans were so eager to to show their love for Kobe Bryant to make it very clear that it was a two way thing and it was wonderful that night and boy they get again if the if it's true this this is going to hit hard this is someone who is a true Philadelphia legend and and in the lead company we mention the will to the world who have been part of the committee grew up on now you see this and and you you just your hearts go out in this this is good this is really going to her for awhile

"PE boarding show. It is a Wednesday morning in the Delaware Valley the day before Thanksgiving 2020 2020 and I just want to stop by saying this out because it's very weird today. And very sad. This pandemic has had many victims today and we are one of them because today for the first time in over a generation over 20 years We are not at Philadelphia International Airport, greeting all the people happily leaving for family or other events that expel giving day holiday teams heading to Florida for tournaments. So many real life has changed in the past year. And we really feel it today because I'm personally, it's May. It's my favorite show of the year because it's exciting. This people everywhere out there all in a great mood. It's about to get a nice Ford a holiday and everybody's up. And then this year it's not and all I could say to the people that are going to the airport. I would love to talk to you if you go in there. Just so I can include that element in a show we've done about you leaving for wherever I would love for you to call it and because our people still go to the airport's over three million. Um yeah, Over three million people have already been here for the last three days. Sunday, Monday Tuesday, so that's pretty amazing in itself. People are still planning to do what they do. Even though we have a serious situation in the world today, all right, But we got AH, crisis and thought of you. I realize driving into that. I hate when the Eagles lose. What it is invigorating to be dealing with crises. The way this city is right now. Oh, it's a fact invigorating. It's a It's It's like you wake up in the morning and go. What's gonna happen next? What's going to happen? And normally somebody associated with this will say something either annoying or helpful that will advance the crisis. I'm gonna go with annoying and today at 6 40, we will offer for your consideration the leader of the defense Bread to Graham will be on this shot. Nice and al. The timing could not be better because I'm going to place up for you in a second that is being alleged by former cowboy but now a commentator. That there may be a breach and eagles Eddie Eagle Cell locker room on You know what? It's logical, but I don't think he has sources. I think you just made it up. But I want to just start with this Also, By the way, I, uh guess us We got Mike Lombardi at 7 20 normally on Friday, but we're not here Friday. We want to get his thoughts on what's going on. Ruben Frank, who's doing stat, his head's blowing up its understand And I'm asking about because he's gonna have Thanksgiving dinner because he keeps that That's your third roll. Uncle Beth. Yeah, I'm saying like this. He is stacked man in his life. I wonder if you got what is the third time this week I skipped lunch. No, no had type. Rube probably hasn't skipped one anyway. You know, you know, report that a man I think it's Thanksgiving. He's going to want to give thanks to the fact that he was right. LHR Parks. He never liked cost. Even one question was great. He hung in our Carson. He'll be on a date, I guess take about But we have our wheel. Today. I'll let you know. Right now. It is. It's a little more challenging than usual, but not that much. In a difficult time out, always look to me for a positive spin. Really, The way I built my career. If I'm going for a covert tests, I want you in a very rough year for human beings in general and sports fans in particular. Tell me something you are thankful for on. You know what else This is in Philadelphia Sports. What are you bank will for in Philadelphia sport? I'll be honest. It didn't take me long to come up with 10. No, that's good stuff. Really good stuff. You got to really kind of sift through a lot of garbage to get to it, but you'll get to it. So sit thrill and get a spin on that wheel cause that we are chock a block full of great stuff, even stuff you could give for Christmas, which is right around the corner. I want to start with this because this annoyed me. All right, and I didn't get to it yesterday, but Doug Peterson right now appears to be so snippy. That he even feels a bit of a persecution complex. He thinks people are over, blaming both him and his quarterback for what's going on with the football team. He is not correct. You understand It is the world of sports in football. To focus parts will always be the quarterback in the Coke. That's the nature of the game where you are. Bala Chicken Brady. Hello, reading my homes. It's there all the time. It's not just here. But Doug got annoyed because he was getting so many questions the other day about both himself and his quarterback, he said this In this city, the quarterback in the head coach, right? I mean, it's all about the Cube and the head coach, and everybody else can almost go by the wayside, I guess. And so it's almost like a two man, a two man band. Let me just stop. I said I am getting other stuff today because I'm not happy with Jim Schwartz. Not happy at all. With day fip. The special tapes got this plenty of other guys. I've been spreading it around. But the focal point will always be the quarterback in the coach because that's the way it is. They get the money. They get the glory. They get the blame everywhere. That's the way it works. Dog deal With all of a sudden, a year five. It occurred to you, but if your tape stakes you're gonna get blamed for it. Really you made are you needed a reminder by being 36 and one Here's a little tip from somebody is not just a long time. Don't be 36 and one in this city, 36 and what out is going to get you killed? No, verbally. I'm saying anyway, so you know he did I want to. I want to be really kind here today. I want to prove that dog is wrong. Wrong that it's just in our city that does this do you know nationally? The number one talking point this week. Thanksgiving Week 2020. Is the Eagles, in a situation of Carson custom wants its number one now. More people will talk about that anything out on all the national shot..

Gloria And Saint Louis And Saint Louis discussed on KRLD News, Weather and Traffic

To divulge the plan there's a plan there's there's a progression there are steps that we're going to take with him in. This part of that He goes coach Doug Peterson on the process of putting quarterback Carson Wentz back in the mix, as. He recovers from last season's knee injury joining us. KYW medical editor Dr Brian mcdonagh Brian the question so many eagles fans are asking. Will Carson Wentz be able to play in that. Season opener Steve it was? Game thirteen where he suffered the? Injury, we've had an entire, off season and, he's been working as hard, as he could and so the obvious question is, will be ready is it a. Good thing is it not a good thing obviously for most of, us the average person the, answer, would be no because you really, need a longer period of time especially for? That kind of stress but you're talking about a, professional athlete and with a professional athlete there can be some differences Brian given your experience in these matters what's your sense. As, to win wince return I've. Been doing. This for a lot of years and. I see patients every day I would, never predict whether. A professional athlete will. Get back because again of the differences Secondly I don't see their results we don't We're not we don't have access. To the MRI is and to really see how. They're doing and if I? Just go on past experience I? Never, would have thought Carol, Owens would have, made the Super Bowl years, ago and there are dozens of stories like that, so the question really comes down. To is the doctors for the eagles know best the player's gonna, do the best they can, and, since they're such major investments these, players are worth millions of dollars I don't? Think they're gonna let them out on the field, if they're at risk for a long future story we will continue to cover a medical editor Dr Brian mcdonagh with us. On, reporter's roundup thank you Brian. Thanks Steve Coming up short. But still, winners in another sense of Philadelphia team showed it stuff and, a weekend competition the battle did not, unfold on a field or playing court joining us KYW's Justin Trudeau on. Getting guys from different countries to, communicate and play on the same page. But in truthful Adelphia forum they overcame it's a lot of. Work to melt together nine different languages which what, we have on our roster Marsh says the, weekends championship match brought out a lot of. Fans who, were. True, test Moment to the popularity of the league and its. Potential for growth, it was amazing the Barclay center was rocking Friday the. Saturday over, the two day period that was twenty two thousand fans it, can't do the doors now on the, fusion as we said did not come home with the one million dollar.
