"I think you'll see in the middle of seasons that Harper's gonna demand a trade beating. Just gonna get very uncomfortable. E mean, all that Clint activist spent stupid money couldn't couldn't lock and guys that needed to be that we haven't done anything. In terms of our farm system. So you know, I think I think we're I think we're in for you know, unfortunately, Late nineties bills all over again, Uh, wrap retail, But the thing is You can still if you get the right person involved, and you know if you if you train hard, prizing carvers of a contract anyway, e think it was way too much money for one guy very similar to all the quarterbacks. I mean, the only quarterback. Let's be honest, it has been making all this vocal boo coo money I'm worth. It is passion, my homes, you know? Yeah. I mean, I know you're right, Josh. Thanks. But your contracts are always you know, each and every year they escalate even more on free agency, you know, so they become more and more Expensive. One person tops the other. But remember, this is where I'll give Bryce Harper all the credit in the world. What he the reason that he's his contract is over 13 years is to space out the money. He's getting an absurd amount of money. I'm not going to say like, you know. Oh, my God. He did this great favor, but for the franchise he did. He's making 25 million per per year. Jake Arianna was making that You know, I mean, and they recouped all that money and then some a month after they signed him and all the merchandise that they sold that had his name attack that had Harper's name attached to it. So I want to hear that, but what I do agree with you with which is Uh, that would be horrible for happen if next season or the year after that, and the Phillies are still in this ball, which is very apparent they will be. Harper says This is it. I didn't come here for this. Trade me get me out of here, and I'll make it public. He's been public about everything else will be public about this as well. You know what John Middleton did now The New York Daily News story is already being debunked about the two billion you know, reporting that Hey, told in a and then you know a meeting with the organization that they Um, lost, um, $2 billion of the last county. Well, that's already been debunked s The New York Daily News stories is all bogus. But what isn't bogus is the fact that he is laying off 20%. Of the AH personnel employed by the Philadelphia Phillies, Whether it's in baseball operations or the business side of things, and that is so on this day, right after Thanksgiving. Right before the high in the holiday season. He does this, but what makes me so infuriated Marcus Hayes it a brilliant story on this. He did a simple calculation. Assuming that the 80 people he laid off We're making $100,000 apiece, which they aren't Comes out the $8 million $8 million. That's penny pinching. Because a free agent bullpen arm who is run of the mill will cost you $10 million. So that's all right. A lot of these people that have been the organization 2025 Some 30 years who are about 10 years away from retirement now have to go job hunting with 10 years left to go. Because the owner is penny pinching, penny pinching. Lead and spring gardens on Wi Fi. So, Len, I are you. Do you have any interest at all in watching Mike Tyson time? Uh, actually, I wanted to, but it's just not worth of me to watch two over to help fighters. Um, but there was a man before Mike. I don't know if you're old enough to remember he won more fights before he got in the ring. Sonny Liston. Yeah, yeah, he is He, Sonny Liston is before my time, but one I'd loved professional boxing as a kid. So I did tremendous research and watch older fights and numerous documentaries. But Before they got no ring. I'd like to tell me more land like how give me an example of how intimidating Sonny Liston was prior to the Mohammed Ali fight. He had to scale. It was scary. Just had like a Bison intimidating, but he had his scale. He beat Floyd Patterson and two fights in two rounds, right? He would have bean I'm a little bit of a boxing of fission, Adam. He would have beaten Muhammed Ali the first time right? Except There's this story, and I'm not trying to be any racist or anything else. At the Why? I mean, you don't have to. I mean, if it's between him and Ali doesn't have to get Lin. Thanks, man. I e. I don't wanna get all that. Honestly, I'm just talking about the intimidation factor. I mean, the man's been dead for 50 years now. And Sonny Liston died. He was the 40 year, either. He was 40 at the time when he died. I know he died. I think I was 1970. It was it was. I think he's been dead since 19. He's been dead 50 years. But I mean, I can't speak with any reference to Sonny Liston outside of footage that I've seen, but that see, that's the That's why I'm bringing this up. Because there is a generation of sports fans who obviously know the name Mike Tyson, and they can wash all the footage that they want. But There are there is some there are times Where watching footage is not enough. You had to live through that period of time where In this case, a professional athlete was at his most dominant and the you know, build up and excitement for a match and then To see that moment and see the ferocity that he used to box within the uncontrollable rage at times as his career went on. But I still remember that you know, at 19 years of age Seeing him win the heavyweight title. And thinking, my God, they can't get the there. 5 ft. 11 his punches, so what he's able to do. On blunder at it's a shame. You know, with custom Otto with that kind of changed everything. But it's just anyway, Steve and Rob Guys hang in there. You will be up next. And then you 2155929494 is how you get involved, Who, like Mike Tyson doesn't have to be within the four majors. Expand your mind. Bring out the memory bank if you would like. Incredibly intimidating. Let's share some stories tonight are times 6.

Philadelphia Phillies Playoff Chances Sharply Decrease After Recent Loss
"The Phillies. Chances of making the playoffs got a lot harder after losing a double header in Washington, a walkoff to run home run gave the Nationals and 8 to 7 win in eight innings in the nightcap. Game one saw Washington top Aaron Ola 5 to 1.
After Walk-Off Game 1 Win, Philadelphia Phillies Settle For Doubleheader Split With Red Sox
"Recapping a Phillies lost tonight to the Boston Red Sox. Any split of the doubleheader wasn't an all bad Damon, Alec Bohm. Had a very clutch hit to win the game in the seventh inning of the initial game, the first game of the subway. But really, if the floor's gonna win this division you gotta beat. You gotta beat the Red Sox both times or socks came into play with a 3 33 winning percentage today. I mean, that's that's bad when they're horrific team that I mean, you really can't We couldn't name half the pictures. They're throwing out their mean they haven't have. They don't have a starter for the second game. We don't know it was gonna be before today. There are bad baseball team and the Phillies split within this season. Really? Not good enough when you were when the season ends. If the fillies you know, lose out on the division by a game or two. Let's just play that out. When they lost twice to the Red Sox year in four games to into that's that's bad
Bryce Harper makes defensive mistake, then gets ejected in Philadelphia Phillies’ 5-1 loss to New York Mets
"In New York. The Phillies had been so hot, they lose 5 to 1 of the Mets can't get anything going offensively. Sounds like the Flyers. Ah, and it was a rough night for Bryce Harper in the fourth inning. He didn't really take charge in a pop up too short right? Which meant Neil Walker had to run out catch. It wasn't able throughout the runners who advanced really was Harper's ball. And then an inning later, he got a little bit steamed on a foul ball. He had a hard liner over first. That the umpire Robert Roberto Ortiz, called a foul. He thought it was fair. He wants discuss it. Ortiz doesn't want to discuss it. Harper gets tossed a little quickly. It seems I'm not sure what he said. I'm not sure what magic words he used. But there you go. Harper's 14th career rejection. That's a lot. That's a lot, man. He plays emotionally, and he's been having a rough time. He is 54 37 in recent games, and it seemed last night like the aggravation is is problems at the plate kind of got into him, so we will see. Maybe it's what he needed to turn it around. It was a rough night all around for the Phillies. Jay Bruce re injured his left quadriceps. That's a problem. Jay Bruce has been a big part of the offense and done a decent job in left field, and Roman Quinn, who is Lonnie Smith incarnate and how badly he plays the outfield. Crashed into the center field wall and left. Um not sure. I think he's going through concussion protocol, so we will find out what happens with that. Still, the Phillies have won 10 off their last 12 games. Take last night out. This is a very hot team that is playing well and today has its best pitcher on the mound. So that's going to be something to look forward to today. Up in New York, all right, coming
Bohm’s Sacrifice Fly Gives Philadelphia Phillies 6-5 Win, Sweep Of Nats
"Trying to get out of Philadelphia with with least one win in this. Siri's had a lead later. Michael Aid Taylor home run Phillies tight Then they go to the 10th runner on second base to start in extra innings this year. Nationals could not convert and it was the Phillies turned pitch to ball. Swing and a high pop fly into medium centerfield. Robles is going to be tested. He's coming in. He makes the catch real Muto tags. He's trying to score. Robots throw comes in. It's too late off the mark. And the game is over on a sacrifice fly for Alec Baldwin, rookie delivers in the Phillies, win the ball game and sweep the Siri's final score. 6 to 5 Dave Jaguar with the call National Now 12 23 9.5 games behind the Braves for first place, and they've lost six straight just one win in their last 10 games. Not good right now for the national says they lose tonight. Trade Tentative. Haven't inside the park home run the
Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies Stay Hot With 3-0 Shutout Of Nationals
"At number, Twelve Philadelphia Phillies I have them there now seventeen and fifteen on the year. They are two games over five hundred for the first time in a long time. That's exactly true. But it sure feels like it as affiliates fan but they're starting rotation the last two nights going against the The Washington nationals facing Patrick Corbin and Max Scherzer will zack wheeler dealer Aaron Nola when sixteen scoreless innings or fifteen scoreless innings. I think it is. It is just a man. It is fun to watch those two guys at the top the bottom end of the rotation trying to figure things out that Geffen was good arrietta bad Spencer Howard starting to put it together but they made multiple editions in the bullpen. Their entire bullpen has overturned from the worst bullpen in. Baseball, they added four guys via the trade and then you get two guys won via call once coming back from the COVID nineteen list who hasn't played all year. So they're going to have six new guys available in that bullpen, and then a couple of holdovers from last year, and you're going to see upwards of eight guys who weren't getting the baseball for this team in the bullpen in the month of August who now will be in September and they could potentially make a run because if you get those top two again in that rotation, best five, you're getting three starts from wheeler and Nola Yeah I mean I'm I'm looking forward to that I certainly am
Why Philadelphia Phillies should be terrified of prospective New York Mets owner Steve Cohen
"News, it's the news from a couple days ago. That it is. Ah, just ah, matter of crossing some T s and dotting some. I's For major billionaire Steve Cohen to buy the New York Mets. Why is this a problem? All right, let's go, Micro. Then we'll go macro. A micro problem. Is that Jay Serial Muto is a free agent in 30 games, plus the plaice. And the New York Mets need a catcher and Steve Cohen, for those of you don't know who he is and what his deal is Big Box New York to the point that the second he takes over the Mets John he becomes the richest owner in major league baseball. Soon as he takes over. And he's going to take over the Mets. He won the bidding war against Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez and Josh Harris and some others. He's the one who's going to win this which means when Jadiriyah Muto and by the way, really mute tone is agent probably have been aware ofthe. I'm sure his agent part of the reason they haven't signed is a wait, Wait, wait, wait and went to no brainer. Steve Cohen might be taken over the mats. Hold on, Don't sign, and I know yesterday, McClintock talked about the Dave engage in conversation, and that's good. But you know the reality is the The five year $100 million deal right that summer. Free beer first speculating today. Well, maybe it'll be five on 120. He'll get his 23 year because we don't know that it won't be five years and 180 million Well, James, That's a little aggressive. You don't know what you're talking about. A guy here one in New York. I know I want to make yourself something. I agree with that. But I mean, let's not get carried away. 51 80 is is not gonna happen, we'll say but here's what I know. I just got a lot harder for the pills. And by the way, that's just on the real Muto front. In one example. Then there can actually division the macro is this is a division where obviously the Braves in the nationals, and even to an extent, the Marlins has some nice young players. Phillies have some clearly some veterans that are good. But the reality is the Mets, who have ever since the Bernie Madoff disaster for them about 15 years ago have been a joke. As far as being in New York spending money the way a New York team should get ready for that to change this decade. Yeah, that's the issue is that all of a sudden the Mets are gonna be cheap anymore. It's just got hard, man. I mean, the the New York Mets. They shouldn't be cheap, You know, just like the Philly should correct. I agree. So ah. Now, this guy, apparently pretty big ego guy. I'm sure he's going to want to win some some battles against the Yankees. As far as you know, who's got the upper hand in New York and who's controlling the airwaves, the television networks in the radio and conversation and all that stuff and J. T. Real Muto is is like the prize that Mets fans are clamoring for. So just just know as a Phillies fan as we all are. It just got harder. It just got harder for the filles.
Scott Kingery’s 3-Run Homer In 11th Lifts Philadelphia Phillies Over Braves 7-4
"Off home runs on Friday. The Mets get a two run pinch walk off homer in the seventh from Ahmed Rosario to sweep a doubleheader against the Yankees. 4 to 3. Blue Jays get a Randal Grichuk to run walk off homer in the 10th to beat the Orioles five before the Phillies Yousa Scott Kingery three run walk off last in the 11th to beat the Braves, 7 to 4 and the White Sox beat the Royal 6 to 5 on a Yasmani Grandal walk off in the ninth.
Boston Red Sox Trade Relievers Workman, Hembree To Philadelphia Phillies
"We saw that the was it the red sox today traded with Philly Philly's a couple relievers went to Philadelphia today couple of relievers that are actually tied to the padres actually going to the Phillies, Brandon Workman, I believe they're closer went to the phillies earlier today there was another reliever heath, every Wednesday phillies as well so. Again the phillies bullpen has been the worst bullpen and baseball they wanted to share it up to some extent. They think that they should be one of the eight national teams in the postseason and I wanna see aj pro treat this trade deadline like he believes this team that this team can do something in the postseason and ghosts and go far and go deep in the postseason. I don't want this trade deadline to be treated like well I don't want them mortgage the future because we can't trade from the entirety of our farm system so. We're going to have to deal with what we got right now and hope POMERANZ goes back. No I WANNA see age. April are out there will
McCutchen, Wheeler Lead Philadelphia Phillies To Sweep Of New York Mets
"Their second straight 62 game, giving the Phillies a sweep of the three game series. Andrew McCutchen is two run homer off starter Rick Porcello in the sixth, gave the Filles lead they never relinquished. Former Met Zack Wheeler gave up two runs and Fan 4/7 innings to earn the win. The
Bryce Harper’s Walk-Off Single Gives Philadelphia Phillies 6-5 Win Over New York Mets
"For the Mets and Philadelphia is going to be a base hit played on one big hot by Conforto Quinn Coming off the plate photos throw head first slide safe at the plate. The Phillies win it. Howie Rose the 65 final on WCBS, 8 80 Bryce Harper a walk off single for the Phillies, Michael Conforto throw beat the speedy Roman Quinn to the plate. Wilson Ramos failed to tag Quinn as Quinn's hand alluded the glove of Ramos. The Mets scratch Jacob Jacob deGrom before this game because his necklace status aggravating is this got this popped up out of nowhere. I've been feeling really good, and then I don't know if I just slept on it wrong or what? Graham hopes he only misses one
Bryce Harper’s Walk-Off Single Gives Philadelphia Phillies 6-5 Win Over New York Mets
"Team impacted by Kobe, 19 sources telling ESPN today's game between the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates likely to be postponed after a Reds player tested positive for the Corona virus, which is heavily impacted teams like the Moreland's and Cardinals more than any other, But other teams that have played those teams have been impacted themselves with days. In quarantine. The Philadelphia Phillies won such team, but they were playing on Friday, cashing in on the faceless Mets. It was a 55 game bottom nine with ducks on the pond for none other than Bryce Harper. Swung on line two right that is going to fall in front of Conforto for a hit he fields on one hop. Here comes Quinn the throw to the plate and he is safe at home plate Safe is the call the throw beat him. Ramos applied the tag Wagner called safe. And for the moment the Phillies have won the game. And here's the call from New York. The headsets come off and he is safe in the game is over, and the Phillies have won it. It is, in fact, a walk off winner is heard on Sports Radio 94 W I. P. Bryce Harper getting there. Game winning blow with the Phillies cashing in as I mentioned on the ace, less METS, New York, Scratching the reigning two time Cy Young winner Jacob the ground for Friday start because of neck tightness. No D L For now. Harper on NBC Sports Philadelphia on his walk off winner really fast out there, and I kind of thought of all those hard. Um, but you know he's earned it. Let him score right there. So pretty happy about that one. You hold your breath. I would imagine now waiting for that replay to show up on the big screen. Pretty pretty special slide by Roman when they put the kid in there is that ball beat up by a little bit 100%. I mean, you know, being able to have a guy like that on second base. I mean, He, uh He's one of those guys in league so good throw by Conforto right there and just bang bang and he got in there so very, very happy about that

Philadelphia Phillies beat New York Yankees 11-7 at home to open twin bill
"The Yankees allowing eleven runs illusion, the opener, the double header with the phillies yesterday, and then they ran into Aaron Nola. In the NIGHTCAP, he gave them all sorts of trouble, but eventually, they got into the Philadelphia both another three to pitch to talk. Line. In the right field, that survey? That's GonNa find the gap. Stanton will score. Harper gets back in talk man stops at second. So a rig double for Mike Talk in the Yankees take a two one lead, ricky. Ricardo. seventh-inning call here on the fan I will say one of the things I like about the no fans is getting to hear the dugout. Big Hits. It sounds like you're at a high school game in central New Jersey on a Wednesday afternoon. He's guys are getting all pumped up there on the bench on the balls, put in play, and you can hear some of that on the broadcast or shallow with an RBI single. He was two for three and the bullpen closed out a three one victories. They split the twin bull, the twin bill rather at Citizens Bank I. Seven inning experience for Aaron. Boone Company? What did he think about? About the first one was too short, and then this one was just right. Make sense considering they dropped the opener before the seventh inning rally Nola struck out twelve over six innings. But the Yankee pitchers kept them in the game as well. Jonathan Isaac. Open, he got seven outs followed by Avalon. Green Auto Vino in Britain the latter earning his fifth save Luke void homered in the second. His Fourth of the season reading in all situations doesn't matter who's pitching what game where we're at at homer. Here on the West Coast. It's anytime. It doesn't matter Ohio three. Oh. Oh, to whatever you know guys can always do damage. So they'll. They'll check him out later today leading up to the series finale, Jordan Montgomery opposed by ZACH EFLIN

"philadelphia phillies" Discussed on 94WIP Sports Radio
"Welcome back seven forty five top of the hour will be joined by Matt Breen covers the Philadelphia Phillies for the Inquirer pick his brain as the spring training rosters have been released or dealer Kong the calling them pool rosters what I pool the spring training pool Rassegna surprises for the Phillies if anybody off that you thought they would keep is is there a local kid from New Jersey that ensures that wanted a northeastern the pitcher David I got your email us something he was pretty disappointed that he wasn't left on well the most notable absence on there is doable Herrera which I'm I quite honestly because so much time has gone by and I want to see people have forgotten about it but it's not it hasn't been a relevant story for a while and then the fact that it's only sixty games that are going to have as many weapons as possible yeah it is surprising especially to tell you how it wasn't just lip service because they could have brought him back without any fans and right exactly right you know yeah so I mean that wasn't just saying because they were afraid of what the reaction they redid it was an organizational so others can other teams pick him up yeah I will he's still under contract were ever ask Matt about okay yeah he's still under contract he wasn't released by the Philadelphia Phillies so you can make I suppose you could acquire him via trade but nobody can just you know pick him up **** nilly so one of the main things we've been talking about this over the weekend arm in addition to the rosters being released and spring training got underway in just a couple days is the line for the Philadelphia Phillies the Vegas has set the win line for the upcoming season all of sixty games and as excited as I was to have this season finally got underway trying to look past those ugly negotiations and saying well at least we have baseball back at least I have you know a few moments where I can forget about yeah I can have a distraction which is what sports is a distraction from the real world you have a moment of of just shutting everything else out and just watching a game the line for the Philadelphia Phillies thirty and a half wins fifth that's a far five hundred team that's what Vegas has them at so all this build up excitement for a team who's not going to win more games than they lose in odds are that may not be good enough to get to the playoffs now under I mean I thirty wins how can that be they fought there a five hundred okay well you have to look at it like where would you where would if you were setting the odds where would you set up I I I mean I the Vegas knows more than we do obviously has a as a way of labor and where would you I said do I think that you have to bet a hundred dollars where would you fear for thirty four thirty thirty three a half that's what I would put that because Hey there how are you god I'm about to credit Gabe Kapler the last two years they had they were in first place after sixty games yeah when they brought it out very quickly yeah that's to me that's a relevant well the rosters relative right into it now I mean you got everybody in the same spot and in this and you've got the argument to me is the DH is going to benefit them way more than I think people have figured in they have a manager who is very familiar with that on on how to I did bad although it does been there done that has that much different it's much more difficult come any other way somebody that had in common a nationally if it didn't have it but I I think that that really does work into their into their favor I don't know that dial I have and I don't know that any team do you think any team benefits in baseball from not having people in the stands like it of all the sports are like I know citizens bank to get packed and stuff like that but I guess for relief pitchers I think that they live on the adrenaline one way or another of the ninth inning or that any Jersey ever I'm I'm sure you know and the fires of always sold out so that's it's not it's not an issue here in Philly yeah when you visit an arena where you know it's half empty list list if I die of course it does and I I played in Washington when not only were half we were half empty of our own fans and a big game you be loaded with the fans from the opposition that was worse than anything so having zero fans I think would be better than being on a team that doesn't have a lot of support from the home fans yeah I did it when the caps for the penguins and the in the mariels heyday when I was there it would be at least half full of penguins fans or flyer fans that would come in and take over the building no longer like that but I'd prefer no fans of as opposed to a home away fans coming in and taking over your own building that's the that is the worst scenario that you can have are you it is different well again hockey is such an emotional game that if you watch man alles plated many men's league game times and they it the the inner competition comes out somehow and even a non hitting leagues all the sudden it turns into Haiti so I I have no concern about hockey getting the level of yeah so how often should I got to know now you you you grunted there about because it is supposed to be no hitting and it doesn't matter did people target I'm working any time anybody light and they did it because I don't pledge in the not only minutes look out once I'm working any ever involved in a physical no I'm not I'm fighter I'm a lover I was on the bench if you get a five.
"philadelphia phillies" Discussed on You're Wrong... And Here's Why
"It is plus one hundred thousand. Those teams are the Baltimore. Orioles Detroit Tigers eggers Kansas City. Royals and Miami Marlins and you know for the uninitiated the non gamblers among us that means one hundred dollar bet pays out one hundred thousand dollars. Honestly you know what would be the most just major league baseball thing of all time would be the Miami marlins having one of those weird years where they're just the best team in baseball and they ended up winning the world series even though they were terrible last year and they've done before. Yeah that's what I'm thinking. They've gathered enough prospects. They've traded off every single good player. They have a couple random veteran guys who just kind of hanging around around yeah that money would go on the marlins traded the league. Mvp they traded their all star Catcher. They got rid of any semblance. Embolism starting pitching. They've endured tragedies. It's I mean this would be the perfect Miami marlins storyline that absolutely two hundred to one hundred thousand one hundred percent more. Interestingly thousand wins a million feel free to help vodka just write me the check now because that's that's a lock you feel that comfortable. I mean I mean Chris. You can't draw any better I think you can but I WANNA I WANNA talk quote a couple other things before we get out of here and that is what's going on in Philadelphia right now. I know you've got some really strong opinions on the Philadelphia Eagles in their quarterback Carson wentz Gregory Monday night football this week against the New York giants and familiar foe. And Eli Manning. Where's your head at our? We'll we'll beat the giants by two touchdowns. That's that's what is that about the dolphins. Yeah yeah yeah I know I did but this is how this works. They had to drive us so down into the ground and just completely kill any hope we had in the season just ruined our day. Ruler Thanksgiving weekend. My holiday was ruined. I didn't know what else to do with myself. After that game on Sunday I sat there and watched red zone or actually I think I watched sure whatever the game was on after I watched Sunday night football and watch Tom. Brady's career slowly but surely go up in flames. Yeah right though in the Super Bowl But this this this team is so annoying and it's just it's got to be so bothersome to fans that they will go out and they will dominate manning and his return game in essentially the beginning of the. Eli Retirement tour that I just. I don't see any other way. I I don't see any other way this game going. The defense is not gonNA play as bad again. There's this weird thing with Ryan Fitzpatrick. He just owns the eagles. He did it with Tampa last fear and yet again the year. Before I mean he's throwing touchdown passes seven teams. They show that grabbed seven. Different teams. Against the eagles thrown touchdown passes is with. The Guy just owns us. I think he'd beat us with the bills one year in a weird road game where we were up in buffalo and it should have been sure win fitzpatrick `let us up. Then like there's just this is the way the way fitzpatrick goes but this is different the eagles dominate. Eli Manning does not matter. The giants have almost no receivers The giants you know Saquon Saquon. You'll have to try to to hold him down but who knows. I just think that I can't I can't see going the other way. and Ed and the cowboys are gift wrapping you. The division their gift wrapping absolutely gift wrapping if they can't win this game if you can't beat the New York giants who you have. What two or three wins on the year? Four wins maybe are terrible basically terrible they have no defense. Can't tackle if you can't beat this team. I followed the franchise. Fo the franchise sell it. Make Larry Sell it moved to Arizona like they were going to do back in the late eighties. And just be done. Because you don't deserve to be a franchise if he loses escape perhaps a bit strong but the villa first of all I would say allies can be well rested. Of course. He's he's coming in fresh. And you talk about the giants not having any wide receivers. Well Doug Peterson said he would be comfortable. Oh playing with just three healthy wide receivers if Nelson Aguilar can't go and he is a game time. Expect a decision who is more leaning towards the won't won't go then we'll go direction so the eagles also don't have any healthy wide receivers. What what's the world record for for most double tight end tight end screenplays running one game I am? I think I'm so predictable screens if I see another other tight end screen. I've throw something through my tv like it's the art. It's so slow developing it's so awful it never works can. Can you just do what the Patriots did. When they had GRONK and that guy that murdered people like double tight rounding up the seems that can't cover both if this good if Goddard and hurts this good that plate? That plan should work almost every time just like it did with the Patriots. One quick comment to the estate of Aaron Hernandez allegedly killed people. By apology yes Scott that out there right now Barada actually. This line is come down a little Bids Bevanda now. Has the Eagles Monitor nine at home. How do you like that? What it started like ten ten I saw nine and a half a couple of days ago? I'm not confident. The Eagles can cover anything. They I think. Certainly not. Wide Receivers Tunnel Well Chris we have our discussions almost every game day during the game. While I'm frantically watching and just pouring over and you sending ending me hate-filled texts hate-filled towards no no no not filled towards the eagles. I like these mainly. Yeah well the cause something else might come across my desk as far as like. I don't know if the flyers are playing at the same time or if you know one of my many fantasy players decides to just not do anything it it becomes a whole thing. Yeah if any listeners. Wondering what it's like the text with Greg Crone. Doom and gloom is a way to describe it a lot of misspellings lot of negativity. Well you're a Philadelphia sports fan when what else could we expect and I joked because I him as well but Yeah this is interesting because it seems like a lot of money. He's been going on the giants. If this lines coming down. I Ah Yeah I see that big number and see the fact that they that. The Eagles couldn't beat the to win Miami Dolphins a week ago and say why should they be favored and You'll you'll have that logic it's time and time and time again and this'll be the game where the eagles win three touchdowns the covers easy which is actually what you thought. Last week when they went up fourteen ten nothing and I play on defense. Get a pick they go right down score a touchdown I mean you thought our taken this. It's not even going to be a contest and the Eagle somehow manage to blow it. But I don't think I just I don't see I don't think the giants have enough affi. Light hasn't been good. You know he is coming off like what would we say. Four or five straight. Buy Weeks Daniel Jones taken over probably longer than that. Yeah yeah it might be eight or nine so obviously it's going to be tough but it's a divisional game at home. You want to get food out of the stadium. There's no way they want to get out of the stadium for the fifth time this season. I just can't I just can't have well. This is the this is the Benson this thing right. When when he said like we're afraid to lose at home and and I get that completely Philadelphia sports fans do not put up with poor efforts? No you I mean if you play a tough game you lose like let's go back to the NFC divisional round. Game against the Falcons right. That came down to the last drive. The Falcons are driving. Julio Jones doesn't catch that pass in the end zone the game ends at that play. Klay goes the other way and Julio Jones catches that pass and saves the eagles franchise from pure doom. That's that's led from from the winning the super bowl that season but if he catches that pass sure they're going to be angry fans but they're not leaving disappointed in the team's effort. I mean that was a hard fought fought game with a backup quarterback where the eagles put it all out there in a game that nobody was picking them to win. Let's go back to that season after when Scott hurt. No one gave the eagles any any sort of chance and and if they lose that game on that play and it's an incredible catch booing eagles stadium. It's we're upset. We you know we clap. We acknowledge the good play. The technology effort bad luck because once got hurt and we move on. It's not this team. This year is totally different. Yeah well the giants are also totally different. They've lost eight in a row after a two to start there now too and ten with that number two pick in the the NFL draft and that is scary to me. Lucky that they they took Daniel Jones. Who looks like a competent quarterback but lucky? They took January Jones last last year. Instead of being in the race for Joe Borough who I think you know this guy looks like an nfl all pro in the future. So I'll take that the downside is of course that there there's that fellow Fella at Ohio state who I don't WanNa face for the next decade and chase young yet but we'll they there's there's debt precedents of hey. We drafted a quarterback last year. So we can't now this year it doesn't they like jim rope day like giants. There's no way they're going to embarrass going number. One unless the bengals completely screw through this up and Andy Dalton wins another game. The bengals will pick Joe. Borough hate say Chris. Andy Dalton wins today outright. Telling you pull it up. pull it off pulled up until you. This Brown's team this Brown's rounds team is the biggest myth. All I'm seeing all week is reports about Odell Beckham Junior. He's playing with a sports hernia. Now he's taught another coaches and sidelines just before during and after games it. It is over in Cleveland. My friend over and the nail in the coffin is handy doll winning a weird unnecessary road game and getting this bengals team to two wins and messing everything up for everybody's draft yet for the record. BAVADRA has the browns minus seven at home. Yeah that's that is A. That is a barking dog..

"Well, some big news coming out of the world of Philadelphia sports, having to do with the Philadelphia Phillies with Oduol Harare, and arrest a release domestic violence allegations. It's not looking good for Harare. What does it mean for the Philadelphia Phillies we bring in Bob wankle? He covers the Phillies also has a great eye for odds in the world of sports. So we'll get his thoughts on some trends game, one of the NBA finals. He covers everything for crossing broad. You can follow Bob on Twitter at B W crossing broad. Avon. Shandor estimation radio Bob appreciate it. Let's start with the with the rough stuff. First. Let's get that out the reaction that you and others had in Philadelphia. When you find out for me, I think it was around eleven fifty maybe eastern time on Tuesday, that Oduber Harare was arrested Monday night. What was your reaction to it? And, and what has been the city's reaction mostly? Yeah. I think it's, it's obviously a terrible situation and it. A thing where anytime something like this happened. I think the initial reaction is that people are just don't you know, I mean, not that you, you ever back there you say that the guy that you would think may be capable of doing something like that. But I mean I just think that everyone was sort of blindsided by today. And, you know, I think that the Phillies they spoke about both gate Kappler, and I think that they were certainly caught off guard by you know, you don't want to speculate too much, and say, oh, well, this is out of character certain guy or anything like that. But I definitely think it caught a lot of people off guard today for sure. Yeah. I think the details of the police report, and you look at some things that come out with it. He's arrested released and there's going to be charges that will follow from it. And, and I think normally when we see this because the Ray rice situation that happened in the very city down Atlantic City, I think normally when this is a socio with the NFL but it seems like baseball. Acted pretty quickly. Yeah. So the procedure there is before take seven days to investigate if they need to go beyond seven days, they can do that the player paid during zapped. And that's what's going to happen with those people Herrera major league baseball. I like to say take pretty seriously. I mean, I think what you're going to see in the Phillies kind of have to defer to major league baseball here and let them go through the process. I mean, if if you want the other side of it, I think that there are some people that will say within, you know it. It's an accusation. Hasn't been convicted yet. You wanna use some caution before you completely jump to conclusions. But what you look at the details that kind of merge here in the early going, I it's kind of, you know, anytime you get a story like this. It's really hard to kind of justified or say, well, hey, you know, this could have been a misunderstanding. I mean, the fact of the matter is you, you have Harare's been charging, simple salt here visible, I you know, to use the, the exact terminology that we heard today that visible more on the victim. I think that in this situation, you, you have to look at it and then kind of suspect, and you kinda hit the do this, but you'll have to assume the worst that, you know, at the very least we have a situation here that, that got out of hand and it's something that both affiliate major league baseball and Dougal Harare, gonna have to deal with it. It's hard to see the ending welfare Deuba Harare. That would be my, my initial take away from from what we heard today from that, Clin pack. We talked to Catholic talk before the game. Tonight about domestic violence always being serious issue may be that he actually has the foundation for domestic violence issues. Known of looks good. It looks like you know, something bad happened down there. And, you know, you don't wanna make any basis formally at this point, you know, and speculate too much, but early promising. Yeah. And I think you have precedent, right? And chatting with Bob wankle of crossing broad at crossing broad the site..

"In those twenty five games when they've drawn to or fewer walks. They've scored four runs to one zero one eight one seven and four. So they need to draw walks. They did that the ladder two games of this series had success. They couldn't do it on Monday got shut out. This is a big bending angle for me with the Philadelphia Phillies. Somebody that a lot in the second half of the Chicago Cubs last year who had very similar splits. So when the Phillies take on control guys, they're going to have problems. When the Phillies are getting those free baserunners putting that pressure on the opposition. They average a lot of runs gaming at six point four runs per game in their twenty five games with three or more walks. So as an angle, you absolutely want to look at here as a pretends to Philadelphia Phillies and another angle to look at here, Giradi cough. Just the guy who said a lot of injury problems. He was very good like twenty fourteen to sixteen then ran into some injury issues. The last two years kind of bottomed out a little bit. He was outstanding in Wednesday's game against the cardinals. And he's a guy with some pretty big platoon splits. If you get him against a right handed heavy lineup some interleague play against the Tigers. Well, actually, they're playing the the Luther playing the ale east interleague. So I guess I, you know, I actually. Playing the central this year. So if I cough does wind up running into the tiger's our somebody like that, you know, the Padres obviously the Diamondbacks or another good team to look at drought. I cough when he faces a right handed heavy lineup. He's got a very good chance at success. There's kind of a Lance Lynn field to him in that left us. They're gonna are just gonna rake him over the coals, but righties he's gonna have a lot of success against. So the cardinals are very right handed heavy lineup. I cough pitches. Well, that's another angle for you to look at here with the Philadelphia Phillies. How about the Minnesota Twins? They trucked the Toronto Blue Jays here this week or this week twenty two one the combined score in that sweep for the twins. You wanna talk about regression coming for the Toronto Blue Jays. But to this degree was kind of sagging. Interesting little side note here that former Indians apprentice and assistant GM Derek fall. He his team crushing. Berkshire pyro steam who was formerly the president. And before that the GM of the Indians, kind of an interesting little side note there, but you know, when you look at this series air Jose burritos with a good road starting game two that's very rare for him Martinez. Perez was excellent in game one adding some velocity adding a cutter he's been a different kind of guy. And then Kyle Gibson who I liked in yesterday's game. Because it was a ground ball heavy type of guy, then he goes out there racks up eleven strikeouts to go along with this foreground ball out. So really good display from the twins here in this series. And you know, it must be nice to barrel up a baseball. I wonder what that feeling is. Like, just no you absolutely got all of one..

"Rockies in the Philadelphia Phillies. Hi, everybody, Jack Corgan along with Jerry, Schimmel producer engineer. Jesse thomas? Doug Niemeier at master control. Rockies have taken another step towards the racing that game losing streak with a dramatic fifth straight win last night. It's an opportunity when you're trying to build momentum to have an emotional game. Really be a propellant. Exactly. Right. And I think that that can be great great momentum for any team in any sport. Jack is to have that great dramatic finished like the Rockies had last night. It just seems to get everybody going. And I know the old saying is momentum is only taking spars the next day starting pitcher. But you've got one of those on the mound today as well. And in a Tonio sends it tell who is off to a great startling one start. But it was impressive. But yeah, I think a game last night so many elements of it that. Dramatic walk off and the situation down a run. And all that then you come back and win a game. You think you lose can really get a team going and a terrific it bat by Tony Wolters down count to draw walk to be that guy on the basis for Charlie Blackman's home. Run the Phillies are dinged up. More guys went down last night. So the Rockies have chance to capitalize on a team. That's trying to refined its footing exactly right to up little bit physically in their pitching staff, including air Knowle's, not been terribly effective so far. So I think he might be catching this Philadelphia team at the right time for the Rockies. And let's hope that is the case tonight and tomorrow, but it looks like that certainly is the case you look at their lineup. It's still a very good lineup with mccutchen and Harper and Hoskins and real Muto and smothers, but the Rockies have them down. Let's hope they can keep them down Rockies Phillies. We'll take a quick break in when we come back. We'll visit with Tom McCarthy. The voice of the film. Please. And talk about the resurgence in baseball in Philadelphia next on the KOA Rockies.

"They can afford them to get or is trout getting or not try to speak of trot. Actual get on later. But is Harper getting the better end with three hundred thirty million dollars that is yet to be determined based on how the first season of this contract goes, but during his press conference, I guess his introductory press conference. If you I guess that's the right way of putting it he kinda made a blunder. And the blender is he said he wanted to bring a championship to DC. He's on DC anymore, obviously. So I guess he was so used to saying that term that he completely forgot he's no longer part of the Washington nationals. And now a part of the Philadelphia Phillies. But with that being said. I have to. Make a point that this might not be the only move. They make the Phillies make the next couple years because. Harper has said publicly he was gonna talk to Mike trout and try to recruit him to the Phillies when his contract's up, and I believe in twenty twenty one twenty twenty or twenty twenty one roughly around there. And if that does happen and somehow someway, the Phillies getting both Harper and trout, arguably the best players in the league. I would say this is the new version of a super team. I know just two guys out of nine in that circumstance. I mean to outfielders and and to power hitters Scher. But it's still like it would still be considered a super team. I truly believe that. I think you'll be like, oh, this is the warriors of the MO. Now. That's basically what my prediction is that this actually does happen. But I think the angels while some say about a based off the fact that they will be extending trout, as they'll be pushing extent tried as hard as they possibly can to get him to stay in Anaheim, Los Angeles angels of Anaheim, California planet earth. Whatever are remember being Marx joke was, but regardless if I had to make a guess on what the. Future holds for my trout. I don't see him changing uniforms anytime soon or at all for that matter because I just think the angels are going to push hard. There will push hard to keep him on the angels, and they will basically succumb to his will in. Maybe overpay people can claim maybe they will overpay him. But it's going to be like if I had to make a guess, I want his extensions. There's rumors section is going to be three hundred and thirty million dollars as well. But I can see him getting more against him asking for more than that. Because of the fact that he's going to say, you know, the Phillies could just pay me more than you're paying me, which is probably a possibility. And then the Phillies are to earn that the Phillies angels are going to overreact and pay him. Honestly, I can see them going to four hundred million. I really do because he is their franchise. He is probably their best player. They've ever had on the angels. Arguably, and he is there moneymaker he is there draw. He is their jersey seller. He is everything they ever wanted in a. Baseball player. So. See him leave would be the worst thing for Anaheim LA of the earth. So with that being said, I think they're going to have to overpay him in the minds of others. But when it comes down to what they think if it's over pain or not it's going to be worth it because they're gonna keep Mike trout for his career. That's this one. I'm assuming is gonna be the outcome of this with the with Harper trying to recruit my trout. This will might choke getting a lot more money from the Anaheim angels than the is the LA angels of Anaheim. That's so stupid compared to the Philadelphia Phillies. It'll be a bidding war, but I think ultimately and the LA angels of Anaheim will win out the services of my trout, and he will be an angel for life. That just how I see it all going down because it's gonna be hard to have him be gone..

"I b. Give it to you. Round. Back. It's uptown theater. So you back. Right. Stay. Oh, you have to do is requested. We'll get it to you. That's the way we do it something else. I wanted to put out there, and we don't do a lot of this anymore. But back in the day. We did a lot of this. It was called the hot stove. When baseball season was over. And we get into this part of the year. That would be tremendous conversation about things going on in baseball. We don't do that much anymore. But there is some hot stove information. That's relative to us here and Philadelphia with the Philadelphia Phillies. Is Manny Machado? Coming to the Phillies. Do we have what he wants? And that amazing. It's not about the money. It's over three hundred million dollars for ten years. But do we the Phillies have what he wants? And one of the things that he said is that he wants to play shortstop. But there are other people and teams that involve. He visited the Yankees. That's big big money. And he's with the dodgers. That's big big money. So we don't know where that is going to go. The other one is. Harper. What is Harper going to do? Phillies have already indicate they would like to be in that part as well. Dodges a cleaning out players to make room for a big money player. Is it Harper? And the Yankees are always in the free. So it's going to be interesting to see how these two top players who have already indicated that the Phillies are at least in the conversation and the Phillies have deep pockets as well. They've got a great TV package that allows them to be able to play in most cases with the big boys. And if they get. Harper. They get Manny. The fans are going to begin to fill those seats that were not being filled at the normal rate previously. When we had the great teams, and we had those sellouts, so I think they take all that into consideration. You can get involved in that conversation as well. Eight eight eight seven two nine nine four nine four and be a part of what we're talking about back to the boards and good morning. Dennis and mount laurel but morning. Eric christmas. Happy new year. Thank you so much and right back to you and your family. Dean martin. Oh, come on. And you. Waiter. Stop and go ahead. Interesting. Comes the ground. I get I ever did you ever hear my story and reference to Dean Martin and how he came up with this style. Okay. After the guy from the news brothers at the mills brothers. He took. It's either the mills brothers are the ink spots. I think it's the mills brothers. It was played in students Ohio theatre where he grew up. I tell you. Dennis Dennis, you're bringing history to the living room, you know that. But a lot of people didn't know that he picked up that style as you just indicated Dennis from the mills brothers and back in the day. Because here we go back in the day history. There was only two black groups that really were dominant on white radio and media and also for people to come out and support them. It was the mills brothers and the ink spots. You know about that Dennis. I do. Kielmortgage variety show that you had the mill on. And he talked about that with the head guy for the mill brothers that he picked this style up after him, isn't that amazing? Hey, Dennis it only happens where in the living room history. My mother used to call it the power. Yes. Yes. No, no. And you know, why you were not allowed in the Pala Dennis always a kid, and they were talking to you. Don't you go see Dennis? You got it. And I guess what? Dennis. That's why ended up naming the show the living room. I know. Yeah. No, we're having fun together. That's what it's all about. Parents always called it the power, and we weren't allowed in there because they were smoking the palm os Cabos with these. Strike lucky strikes. Oh, I like it. Dennis give it to me. What is it called about say, Nick? Yes. Saint I call it the factor. I can't explain it. It's the it's the doctor that they play differently for Nick. No, he distribute the ball little better. And he does go down more overall. Carson is a better order back. Yes. Has that? Dr you can this wrote to I'm gonna bring up the name from the past. I don't know if you knew this guy personally, but you knew what are the great wide receiver some the sixties and seventies Paul Warfield. Oh, come on. Miami. If the Cleveland Cleveland I and they got traded. Yeah. I think he ended his career in Cleveland, also. Yeah, they brought him back simply because he was such a dominant factor. Wasn't. He. Poetry in motion. Wasn't. He was sweet. And don't don't forget back in those days. The game wasn't as wide open. It was more of a running game and passing as opposed to passing today. And then the physicality of what went on ahead Mike quick on about two weeks ago. And I said, Mike if you were playing today, how good would you be sunny? Tony don't even mention it. Tony even Mitch now. Good. I would be if they couldn't touch me. Would have been double. If you played this you because you're right. It was more day really here. Yes. Go ahead. The other thing I wanted to bring up is that the the eagles if they win today. And I think that will win today if they win today, you know, you're gonna have to be sitting there thinking not again. Well, that's why that's an article in today's philosophy inquire. Was it didn't inquire today. I saw an article talking about the psyche side. And that's where the coach comes in. And don't forget, Saint, Nick. Is not a threat because the meaner and the way he conducts himself in a very spiritual person. He's not looking to put any pressure on he's willing to accept his role, which means that the interaction between the two of them should be one where it will not threaten Carson Wentz. Once he gets healthy in this able to be the Carson Wentz prior to the injury. I got a little trivia for your son. I don't do trivia. But you can go ahead and do it. We were talking about gorgeous, George. Yes. Do you? Remember, how he got his nickname gorgeous, George tell me. Early in his career. He entered it arena and two women were sitting near ringside and he overheard him as he was walking to the ring. One of them said he's that man gorgeous. I love it. I love it. Hey, what was history keep bringing it? Take care. Have a good Christmas stickier, buddy. Bye. Bye. Let's go to Joe and Florida. Good morning, Joe eight site anybody. Switch. You can hear me better. Okay. Now, how about this gives us hurt is the temperature. What part of Florida u n Joe we're down. Well, actually, Venice Florida, which is like below Sarasota. Okay. We're right. We're right around fifty two today. But it's going to be seventy don't worry about stunning. Joe Joe you brought sunshine to the living room. And we appreciate that. Thank you brace. You're bringing every week. You're so kind. Hey, I trust me. It's all your shows the best. Thank you. Quick question. Nick foles went. I'm not comparing the two, but just watching you. Now you've been around sports forever next about six five six six, isn't he? I'm not sure how tall he is. He is tall. He's about six five six six. Oh, I've been watching and then his composure nothing breaks this guy. And I'm not comparing the two, but I'm looking at. I think the size is a big difference, which we went sizes strengths. You get Nick Nicosia over everything. Okay. Amazing. I mean, I mean, you think that's a factor as always a factor in terms of because the defensive linemen are so much taller. Exactly. And they begin to do something that will say to me many many years ago, and he said to me one day, he said Sonny. When you measuring a basketball player, or an athlete he should not be measured from his head to toe. You should measure the length of his arms. And now if you notice in the last two decades, or so they do that a lot more no reason wilt said that Bill Russell that six ten his arms were at the length of will at seven one. Plus so asks you equal them in terms of their life because you measured the arms as well. And that's what you're saying. If the quarterback is a taller quarterback. He has an advantage to see over the defensive line, which is now become so much bigger and taller in recent years. And you look at it. Advantage. That's that's a strong point. I came in not this year last year, he was using his speed a little bit. He he could throw the ball on the run better than dropback. Most definitely. Yeah. Is your drop back quarterback in the knock on him that he's not releasing the ball quick enough or you're just waiting. So I I think they got to play to his strengths. You know, everybody wants good coach, you what are you gonna put your players and fast position to their strengths? So. Are the eagles coaching staff over the last couple of years have really done that don't forget Saint Nick was not that good when he was at the other teams. So they really put a package together that utilizes to some degree. What you're saying? Joe from Florida and it gives us great insight. And I appreciate that. Now. I'm up against a break. So go ahead. You one other thing you don't say, no, I just wanna appreciate not really, I'm truly meanness. I've been down here for thirty years. And this is the only I listen to Andrew and the boys in the morning. I get up Sunday morning. Just listen, you stop it. I'm telling you the new deep down inside because I'm from up that way. It's a it's a pleasure. Hopefully, keep on going. Well, Joe all always remember this. It's your this your living room and the other people who listening call in. I'm just the moderator. So I tried to bring up different topics. So all people can get involved and show the diversity of who. I am as opposed to wear some basketball, and there's not not been around long time. In fact, I'm going to have a conversation on the other side. Nick, a Joe that you certainly will enjoy we're going to be talking about music. That's the person by the name of Phil. "Very brief hour, forty five minute version of Riccardo after dark Judah the link of Sunday night football Ricardo after dark will only be an hour forty five minutes, but we've got a jam packed hour and forty five minutes because there is a lot going on in Philadelphia sports, and we've got to get to all of it. Tim Kelly no relation to Tom Kelly are Kelly or anyone else. He's behind the glass taking care of business. Speaking of Tom Kelly. He'll keep us informed. We're d- updates all night long after a magnificent Sunday of NFL football and an even better Saturday of college football. We're going to start the program tonight with news that has been developing throughout the evening with the Philadelphia Phillies. Now, the Seattle Mariners have piece by piece Jerry DiPoto. Their general manager piece by piece have been tearing apart that team they've had a lot of high priced superstars and basically have gone nowhere for the past five years. So they're about to announce later this morning. That Robinson casino and Edwin d as their closer will be traded to the Mets for a package, including Jay, Bruce, Anthony's Warsak and a bunch of prospects. And some of the real good men prospects. But as of a few hours ago here developing throughout the Sunday night football game. The Seattle Mariners and the Philadelphia Phillies are closed. There is a deal in place. According to all the big time writers, the guys that are on top of this. And even some of my contacts that I've reached out to here in the past couple of ours are confirming to me that the Phillies are going to acquire Mariners shortstop who can also play second base, by the way. But he's he was a very good shortstop Jean cigar. Now, you say, 'i Ricky who the hell is jeans to guru. Cigar came up in the angels organization got traded to Milwaukee in the Zach Grinky deal if I'm not mistaken Kelly, am I correct? It was the Grinky deal years ago. You are and note worthy that McClintock was obviously in the angels organization at that time. So Glenn tech knows cigarroa very very well on, gene. Cigarroa is a hit machine. If you flash back to the two thousand eighteen major league baseball all-star game. If it wasn't for some late inning heroics on the part of the National League jeans. Got the key hit that book the American League in the lead. He was going to be the MVP of the all star game. This is the caliber of player that the Phillies are about to acquire. Now, you ask one of the Phillies giving up for this type of player. We'll j p Crawford the meters. Running on your taxicab calling. Uber. Call a lift get outta town j p Crawford who I was still around doing Phillies games when he was at number one first round pick. But j p Crawford has never fulfilled his potential, and I've been on the record here on this show saying that I don't think he's ever going to fulfill his potential now I'll eat crawl if someday the Seattle Mariners make a superstar j p Crawford, ladies and gentlemen, I don't see it. I would welcome jeans Gora to the Philadelphia. Philly infield. He hit three oh four this year. Ten home runs. Sixty three Rb is us basically the leadoff hitter for the Seattle Mariners, and he had a three point eight war. Now. His career numbers his career year actually was two thousand sixteen. He was in Arizona Diamondbacks, predominantly a second baseman at year. That's how versatile this guy is now two thousand sixteen back in the National League. It's not a matter of him. Not knowing the National League was very very good Milwaukee. Got traded to the Diamondbacks. And he's a good guy that, you know, don't don't be fooled by the fact that he's been traded several times, he's a pro's pro. And a good guy. I happen to know this guy now two thousand and sixteen he hit three nineteen a perennial three hundred hitter. Twenty homers thirty three stolen bases and a five point one war is no he's fifty seven million dollars through two thousand twenty two with a seventeen million dollars club option for two thousand twenty three. Now what I am hearing through the grapevine is that this deal may expand above and beyond the two players. Am I correct Tim Kelly? Yes this. It's got to expand past JP Crawford. If it includes Carlos Santana, and I've you and I will drive Carlos Santana to Seattle myself in my Jeep. I think he's gotten an unfair rap. He'll be a great fit in the American League, gene cigars owed a decent amount of money. But he's a really good player. So I'd take that contract without giving up Carlos Santana. If you know you're gonna move him to move him in deal like this. It's a steal. If you have intentions of signing Manny Machado to play third base and Machado insecure are tight both from the Dominican Republic. If you've got your eyes set on Machado. To be your third baseman and he will play the hot corner with cigarette short. You have Scott Kingery who I have said all along, ladies and gentlemen from day one. I have said Scott Kingery should be your second baseman for the next ten to fifteen years. And if you move Carlos Santana, and I will go on the record stating I will drive him to Seattle myself as long as Tim Kelly pays for the gas. Then we can move res Hoskins back to his natural position. I get Hoskins is not a great defender, buddy. As a terrible. The worst Glenn fielder in baseball last year. Res Hoskins needs to be playing first base for the Philadelphia Phillies, if they can move Santana and that deal to offset the salary sixty fifty seven I guess exactly that the Phillies it'd be taking with guru, and you give the forty million old descend Tanna back to Seattle. They can get that worked out. Maybe throw in another player. Rumor is that demands have their eyes on a pitcher in the Phillies organization. Do they want Vince Velazquez I'll put Velazquez in the back seat while I'm driving Santana to Seattle. Take him. Please. Get read of Carlos Santana at all cost. If you don't sign Machado. Then Mike Franck goes life gets extended here in Philadelphia. If you do sign Machado, then you could use Carlos Santana as a Dray, pardon me. You can use Michael Franco as a trade peace as the makeover this team continues. But it looks like that in some way, shape or form at some point later today on Monday, December third the Mariners. I will announce the Robinson kennel Edwin d as I would've loved to have seen Diaz, by the way, Tim Kelly, and I would say consider taking canal to get DS that deal to the New York Mets is done canot has waived his no trade clause. What I'm hearing from my sources. That's the Gura has already and these are sources in the Dominican Republic. I'm hearing that cigar has already waived his no trade clause. And is ready to come east like his buddy casino and leave? What is basically another country in my opinion, the state of Washington in Seattle you may as well play as big daddy, grandma and say L laugh. If you're playing in Seattle. So the bills are busy making moves. There are several players out there to be taken in trades. This year, the Phillies have pieces in the farm system. And it is urgent that the Phillies go all in on some of these trades and free agents because it's obviously the Atlanta Braves who won the National League's eastern division. They're all in they've signed. Josh donaldson. They've got other pieces that team's only gonna get better with their rookie of the year. The Mets are redoing their team to win. Now, they could be moving Noah Syndergaard rumors are that Corey kluber could be reunited with his ex pitching. Coach Mickey Callaway who is the manager of the New York Mets. So the Mets are doing what they need to do. The Braves are doing what they need to do. The Washington nationals are still in the mix to re sign Bryce Harper and have already made a deal for a very underrated extremely professional especially behind the plate catcher in yon gums that deals already done. So the the the nationals are still in play. Even to resign Bryce Harper. And there's been a couple of things floating around that Bryce Harper. If he could have his wish would like to return to wash would like to go back. That's what I'm hearing. Also that if they could work something out Harper would like to stay in the nation's capital. I think if if Harper had his druthers. He would like to be a Yankees dad's a big Mickey Mantle got. But the Yankees aren't very interested in number one. They can't fit him in in the outfield. You're not to just create a position for a guy and make him a first baseman just because and they've got the albatross. Because that's what it is of the Giancarlo Stanton contract for the next one nine ten years at thirty plus million dollars. People wanted the Phillies to consider taking that deal on last off season and boarded they smart for not. So it looks like the Phillies will have a new shortstop A three hundred hitter. And a very good defender fast. Good base. Stealer. All around excellent ballplayer in jeans guru now. If they can extend the deal and get out from under the Carlos Santana contract. Matt Glenn tech. You will get an a plus from me. Let's see what happens, but it looks like and from the sources were all this information is coming from it looks like the deal is in place now secure it looks like he'll be here, the pieces going back and the willingness now remember the Mariners took back the contract of Jay, Bruce. Jay, Bruce is basically the Mets version of Carlos Santana, a bad free agent signing last year of a veteran player that they're now regretting. For the Mariners to get out from under the extra. I mean, one of the worst contracts in the history of modern day sports. The Robinson canal dealer be able to get out from under that. They have accepted. The Jay Bruce contract in return. They'll save some money there. And eventually they'll move Bruce. The same thing can be said for Carlos Santana able to move the fifty seven million they take back the forty million of Santana and eventually move him to. But what happens when he gets to Seattle? Who cares? Just get him out of Philadelphia. So it does look like the the Phillies in the hot stove. They're making moves and at the first major move here could be the addition of gene cigarette spelled J E A N is not Johnny. He pronounces it. Gene. Gene. Guru. Should be your new Phillies second baseman at some point to them. I imagined Tim that they'll go through physicals and things of that nature. But if the reports that I'm receiving from the Dominican Republic are correct cigar has already waived his no trade clause. Yeah. And you would think Tuesday there's a press conference. You would think so. Okay. So Phillies fans there is a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. Now. The Sixers won again Sunday afternoon one zero three ninety five as they defeat the Memphis grizzlies that train is often running on its own. I think the Philadelphia seventy Sixers when all is said and done, and I don't think they're done making moves either. Although it could be JR's man J are freehold New Jersey's own JR's. Would you like to see that? If he if he's bought out. Yeah. I after a buyout. Yeah. If you have to trade for that conned on on on. No, no, no, no. You accept a buyout from the Cavs. And then you bring him in here as a free agent. That's different. Yeah. I don't hate the idea. I would have preferred Kyle Korver that ship has sailed. So Sixers went on Sunday afternoon. The eagles tonight. We'll be at Lincoln financial field in a game. They must win. Now. Last time I was on the radio my scenario of having the three way tie of six and six at the end of tonight's game. Obviously was thrown into a tizzy by the unexpected excellent effort, and you gotta give credit where credit is due. Give the devil is due here. The Dallas Cowboys and their victory on Thursday night. Against and I shouldn't say devil doing. I'm talking about a win over the saints. If you know what I mean by bad race that give the Cowboys. They're doing it. Although some people think Jerry Jones is the, but now that's not very nice, by the way. By the way, this has slipped. My mind here at the top of the program. Happy Hannukah all my Jewish friends of which I have very very many. I love you a big case a happy Hanukkah to each. And every one of you celebrating. Okay. We're off and running with the holiday season, a happy Hannukah to all of you celebrating..

"Those all the guys who got them to within a quarter for making the finals last year. Now have reduced roles for the most part, and they see this guy who is taking the majority of these minutes who isn't hundred percent healthy. Right. Feels like I'm better than that guy. Right now. What what's going on? Right. Thank eventually. It's gonna work itself out. But that's just me hoping it more than anything. I do trust evens. I do understand. We have talent like it should fix it self hasn't yet. And I haven't cared for basketball much this year. So it makes it hard twenty one. What that's even worse. What we're eleven. Ten. Eleven soaring above five hundred. That's amazing. What do you think about full to the pistons too? Markelle Philadelphia Phillies. Oh, yeah. I don't I don't know. He's he's one sort of having problems as far as yes. Or something source of problem. Yeah. I don't know. I kind of feel like what players like that. Sometimes, you know, a different environment chain can help them. But I don't know if pistons I don't know of what's his name, Nicole rank as yeah. Joe doing Casey's that kind of coach I don't I don't know not known personally. But to me, he doesn't seem like the kinda guy who's gonna be cuddling in sort of like, you know. You know being? Yeah. Just being like hands off, you know, kid gloves. You know, he he needs to win. You know what I mean? And so I don't think you know, it's it would be a good fix for them. They don't need more problems. They need less problems. Go way to agree. Yeah. It's a roster manage right there. One bit. So while you are at SNL. Yes. Jordan on. Yes. What was he like ages? Is that one of those guys you walk in the room? Everyone just like comes to an hush. Yes. And this is like, oh, that's an actual human being. Yeah. Oh, there's the greatest basketball player in the world walking out of our bathrooms. Who's this huge guy with the big hands coming into my office right now. No one has a wider set of shoulders, Michael Jordan. Yeah. And just imagine back then too. He was just like didn't have a outs of fat on his. In his prime. Yeah. All the videos from his rag retirement press conference. You can't even see the end of his shoulders in the screen been lying. He just looks like Ed big head. I don't know if you big Rocco's modern life might have been a little too late. But yeah, he's just working with. Yeah. He will have beneath them, but one of my favorite Jordan stories when he was on. He was very nice for his raw. And I told him that I was a pistons fans, and he goes, I hate the piston..

"Then we tried to get Machado in July that didn't happen. Now. We have this lady on bell situation that we keep looking for. And that's not happening. There's just this feeling that everything is going to fall into place in the Phillies building and building. And we're gonna we're perfectly live for Machado and end Bryce Harper. And it's just not gonna work out for the Phillies. There's too many other factors. There's too many things and a guy like Harper's spent all this time on the nationals sky wants to win now and this Phillies team even with him isn't ready to do that. There's just no doubt about it. So to me, that's probably the one of the biggest reasons the fact, the Phillies aren't ready and even by adding these guys they won't be ready to win RLS address us first. Points. Yes. Lebron James did not come to the Philadelphia. Seventy sixers. He decided he wanted to be a movie star and build his brand quite Leonard was not a free agent. He was traded to another team. Leon bell is not insured to anyone yet. I can see one of those three the others points. Chris. I don't know what that means regardless. So with their four-games two one win over the dodgers. The Boston Red Sox. Make the case is one of the best teams in baseball history. Right. And now we got to free agency providing teams of a chance to narrow the gap between them in the Red Sox November third players at the chance to start signing with other teams and free agency in this year's crop. Like, you said, it looks really interesting. It looks like it's going to be one that is really hotly contested that brings us to the Phillies. This is a team with deep. Pockets giant ambitions and only sixty eight point nine million dollars committed to their twenty nineteen payroll. You say we can't have nice things. I remember a lot of nice things that have come to the Philadelphia Phillies and free agency. I don't think you can argue with that this. If we're talking about the big the big four sports teams in Philadelphia, and I will even concede the flyers in that group against my wishes the Phillies have been the team that did the best job of bringing in premier talent. Last summer. We heard that there across down brothers the seventy Sixers for star hunting and make no mistakes. The Sixers the Phillies are star-hunting as well only. They have the resources to succeed where the Sixers fell short the Phillies are team on the rise. And the first season new skipper, Gabe Kappler. They were certainly up and downs. No one's going to argue that. But at the end of the day, they looked looked like a team that was a year ahead of where we thought they were and that they're going to be ready to compete earlier than expected. You mentioned this. You're right. They faltered down the stretch the second half. We'll really the second half of the second half was kind of brutal. But I would argue that was really the lack of all that held them back. And I'm confident that the deal has. You know, this team has their eyes on offense stars like Harper Machado or both them to cure that problem. Sure their payroll is low, but are you willing to potentially put together sixty plus million combined free of these guys on a yearly basis? We already saw the issues that Machado had in Los Angeles this year in the postseason, whether it's his talk about not being a hustle guy or the dirty play that happened in the NFC s with the brewers first baseman. It seems like that's an attitude that may not fly with a guy like Kappler who's already had his run ins with a player. Like Jubal Herrera who was prone to do some of those lack of hustling plays that we saw from Chato in the postseason, and Chris I don't want to continue to disparage the flyers in two thousand two they made that huge trade for Tonia Monte who was way past as prime. We can't get that the flight risk grab the flyers were always willing to spend money under Ed Snider, they just spend it in the wrong ways every single time and never got a goalie..

"Just take my word for it. Don't just take one of our guests were words Ford on the show here, look for yourself to use what we say as a guide, but then go in double down. See what you think about the game because there's nothing worse in this business then losing without doing your own work. There's nothing that pisses me off more than when I'm talking with somebody and they're like, you know, hey, I really, really liked this game. Maybe I haven't looked at enough and I said, well, you know, I trust your opinion. I'm gonna go ahead and take it and it loses and I don't hold it against them. It's not their fault. It's by fall. It is my fault that I made a play without doing my due diligence on it. I so when it comes to major league baseball here over the last two and a half weeks or so of the season, if your not studying this for yourself, if you're not taking the time to look at the board, look at some of these pitching matchups, whatever your formula is whatever you use to look at baseball, don't just go on this gestures of somebody else because this is a time of year where there are a lot of unknowns. There is a lot of uncertainty. It is a very, very volatile marketplace. You look at the Philadelphia Phillies. For example, yesterday they play a double header against the nationals. We've talked about this bending angle a lot throughout the season here going into yesterday's action. The team that lost game one was twenty one in seven in game two. That's pretty significant. And it's been a pretty positive trend for the last couple of years here with teams that lost game one playing well in game to the Phillies have everything to lose. At this point, the nationals have nothing to play for except for finishing with a winning record..

It was the worst loss in Mets franchise history. Interestingly enough, radio audience, the television audience, Saul, Gary Cohn along with Ron darling and Keith Hernandez reading out of the Mets media guide. Well, the game was being blown out the eighth inning. Just having fun, Keith Anderson, Ron darling. We're on the team at had the worst loss in Mets franchise history. Wiped out last night. June eleventh, nineteen eighty-five. It was a nineteen run loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. You wanna you ready to go down memory lane right here. These aren't old jets. That's, but it's a good time. The Mets sink Tom Gorman to the mounting. It's Charlie Hudson on that day, Philadelphia. Okay. Tom Gorman lasted one third of an inning giving up a leadoff homerun to von Hayes. Oh, nice. Okay. They batted around they being Rick Hsu want Samuel, Mike Schmidt, Glen Wilson, Bo d. as Garry Maddox Luis Aguayo and Charlie Hudson. And von Hayes came back around now against Calvin Schiraldi and hit a grand slam home run in the first inning. As they put up a nine spot on the Mets and I and a seven spot on the Mets in the second as Calvin went one and third gave up, ten runs all earned on ten hits. And Charlie Hudson only lasted five innings given up thirteen hits and six runs. He barely qualified for the win. I love stuff like that.
