Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce caught four touchdown passes in the chief's 30 to 29 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. You know, we started off a little slow. Had some calls not go our way and not only us fired up at that entire stadium fired up and arrowhead had our backs so we just rally together and really really fought through that one. After spotting the Raiders a 17, nothing lead Kelsey's third TD catch late in the third quarter put Kansas City in front for good 30 to 23. The Raiders scored their final touchdown with two 58 left on the game, but a two point conversion attempt failed and the chiefs held on. The Carolina Panthers fired head coach Matt rule Monday. Rule was less than three years into a 7 year $62 million contract. The Panthers are one in four on the year and lost the San Francisco 37 to 15 Sunday. "Coverages without it. Can I piggyback on something that just said, it's such a great point because sometimes from a defensive standpoint, when you're struggling, right? And I've been in these situations where you're trying to find answers. That's the worst place to be as a defense during the year. You go back to the basics. You go back to playing simple coverages and you let the talent of your player shine through more so than you trying to scheme things up and become this overall vaunted defense. And Tamina's point, that's why she's so damn good at what she does is because literally everybody watching that game, if you've paid attention to the ravens defense, it was so calm and relaxed throughout the majority of that game. Guys dropping into their spots, keeping their eyes on Joe Biden. It was phenomenal. I like their disguise. I thought they did a really good job of spinning coverage yesterday snap. I just want to touch on Cincinnati real quickly. I had a really good talk with Zach Taylor this morning. We've talked about this on our show. You can't throw teams out at two high shell. I know we think we can. You can't. And I as much as I love him and Brian Kelly and their play caller. Dude, you guys live in the gun. You live there and you just think you can throw teams out of shell and right now you can't. And we talked about it on the show. You have to go under more. You have to be willing to commit to run the football to create some of those chunks that Nina talked about them unable to do last night. It has to happen. Yeah, we will get into the Bengals and potentially what it could look like. They would go under center more later on the show. Also, Marcus Williams want to update. He is going to IR with a dislocated risk, unfortunate to see. The Bengals also miss T Higgins last night. He was the only one who played 16% of the staff. That's a difference too. Hey, still to comment NFL live, more on our top story after losing to the niners and dropping to one in four the Panthers of fire their head coach Matt rule. What's next? As they get you set for raiders chiefs with the two hour pre game show and that starts at 6 eastern on ESPN in the app. Dan's going to do the soundtrack for the night. Oh no. On that crew is Adam Chester and Adam, what can you tell us about Patrick Mahomes and the chiefs as they host their division riddled rivals? It looks like you've been in the weight room. You've been in the weight room. Pull up on them. Have you those? Swagger, you know, you're just trying to keep up and try to stay in shape. Anyway, as for tonight's game. Yeah, juju Smith Schuster was listening to this questionable, should be back in the lineup on the field for Patrick Mahomes who now will have another weapon tonight against the Las Vegas Raiders and he has been lethal against AFC west teams. If we look at his record over time, mahomes is 22 and three against the AFC west, which is the best divisional record that any quarterback has ever had against the Raiders in the 8 stars he's made. He's averaging 37.4 points per game so Patrick mahomes has been dangerous and in weather like this he should be ready to have another big night. It's yoga for Adam, maybe. Is a yoga shifty. Bikram yoga? It's so annoyed. All right, anyway. I'm having a hard time hearing. It's okay. Don't worry about it. We're just saying you look. Well, you look good. You look like a superhero. Let's get back to today's top story. The Carolina Panthers making some changes and making waves today. What's next for them Adam? Well, next is that they've hired their interim head coach in Steve Wilkes, who the Panthers owner David tepper said is a leader of men. And he will have the opportunity to lead this team with a new coaching staff. They fired their defensive coordinator Phil snow. They've changed their special teams coach. They made a number of changes already and it looks like they'll have another new quarterback on Sunday with Baker Mayfield expected not to be able to play due to his ankle injury, which would put PJ walker in line to start. So Steve Wilkes will be leading a team that is likely to start PJ walker a quarterback with a new defensive coordinator and now holcomb, so there are all sorts of changes for a team that lost badly to San Francisco and didn't play, particularly well under Matt rule, who was let go today 38 games in to his coaching tenure with the Carolina Panthers. Yeah, it's kind of ironic that PJ walker is Matt rules guy all the way back to the temple days. All right, thanks so much to Adam for joining us here. And he mentioned there, Adam did the culture of this Carolina team. Here's more from owner David tepper just moments ago. We have to figure out how to get a culture of winning here. Which we haven't had in a long time in this place. And as I said at some point, we never have won this town, this team has never had two winning seasons. So I don't really think it ever had a real culture of winning. So how do you develop that culture winning? There are a lot of good areas of strength on this roster right now. And I think that there are better than they were a few years ago, but we have to put it together and we have to hate to repeat myself again, have to get over the hump. And have to figure out how to learn how to win all the time. So let's get into the Panthers future a little bit here. Really interesting from David, he's been very honest in this press conference today. Lena, you've got to imagine the Panthers will start making some changes for their future. Where do you think they look first? Well, as far as looking at their own roster, it's a tricky spot, Laura, because this is not a bad football team. In fact, I would argue that they have a good defense and it was a little bit surprised in some ways to see defensive coordinator Phil snow could go because I think he's done a really good job there. Agree. But they are also very, very, very needing of draft picks. And I think that's why you might start to look at some of the players on this team, the veterans like your Christian McCaffrey's, your DJ Moore's, you know, if I talk to Brian burns, I don't really see that one because he's a kind of young player. I think they'll want to keep and build around and you will cross the NFL and say, all right, we're not winning this year. We know that. Do you take calls for a Christian McCaffrey? There are teams across the league that could use them, but that there are teams that need him, but might not have the draft picks like the rams or the Broncos. So I think it has to be at the right price, but it is something that the panther should consider. Yeah, real quick. I just wanted to touch on something that David tepper said, because it was interesting. He said, his goal is to develop a winning kind of culture for a long time. It's just interesting to figure out what he deems as what it takes to win in the NFL. You know, because if you look at the organization, right? So that leads me to believe that he's not going to go after someone just schematics based in, hey, we're going to get a young quarterback and put them together. Yeah. But does he believe that the Buffalo Bills because they got Josh Allen all the sudden became like the winning program? You know what I'm saying? A little bit. I agree with Mina that some of those young veteran players are trade. I'll throw this out there because I took some notes for this. DJ Moore, if I was Green Bay, I call Carolina. If I was Dallas, I'd call Carolina, and if I was Tennessee, I would call Carolina because they just put treylon Burke's on IR for Christian McCaffrey. It's more of a luxury than a necessity. If you're Seattle, how good do you think you are? You know, with Rashad penny, right? And Kenneth walker, they're a rookie, what do they believe in him? I will throw a little bit of a flyer out there. Denver. Does Denver believe that they can get it turned around because the loss of javonte Williams. And you know, I think those are the two teams that if I were, you know,

"For that, we go right to Adam Schefter. The latest out of Carolina Adam, what can you tell us? Laura, we have the first head coaching casualty of the 2022 season. Earlier this morning, the Carolina Panthers owner, David tepper, walked into the team's training facility, met with the head coach Matt rule and informed him that the two sides would be parting ways after 38 games in which Matt rules served as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers. During that time, he had an 11 and 27 record. He walks away with four years left on his contract and essentially David tepper got tired of the direction that the organization was moving in the results that they had gotten recently, the team has struggled to come up with the starting quarterback you see the offensive numbers this year 29th in the NFL in points per game 30th in QBR, 31st and third down percentage. And the worst passing touchdown to interception ratio in the league. All these numbers added up to the fact that David tepper, who's speaking to the media right now in Charlotte, felt like he needed to make a change and so the Carolina Panthers are the first team that is making a change of pointing Steve Wilkes as the interim head coach, the former Arizona Cardinals head coach will have his first game in Los Angeles against the rams on Sunday and Matt rule now obviously has been let set free and his free go back to college football he wants going to TV. He'll have some options, but he can take his time with over $40 million owed to him. He may be a little picky around the college landscape because of that $40 million more from Adam it's coming. We'll also bring you the tepper sound if we get it in time and another reminder too, they've also fired Phil snow the defense of coordinator other members of the staff as well. So, major league cleaning house will get back to you in Kansas City. Adam Dan, the Panthers 11 and 27 under head coach Matt rule. Why make this change now just what are we October 10th in the season? Yeah, the play on the field started to really drop. I mean, I thought this team was a playoff contending football team mainly on the backs of their defense. I think my big takeaway is number one, cautionary tale that the college coaches that come to the league, you can't do it the same way. It absolutely is a different world and Rex Ryan says it all the time. It's immensely. And you can't just think you can copy and paste what you did. Number two, who you bring with you matters just as much as how good you are. And I'll go back to a specific coach, Joe Brady. He brought Joe Brady over who was their offensive coordinator. The play caller from the 2019 LSU team that was incredible with Joe burrow brought him to the NFL and then really moved on from him last year because he wanted to run the football more. Who you have with your staff is just as big a deal and everyone's going to correlate the quarterbacks to this as and then that's fair. I also think it's just the development of everybody as far as a young player specifically your offensive skill talent. Think about this. CMC since he's been there has been hurt. I'm not saying that's the reason he has been. Is Robbie Anderson that much of a better player? No, is DJ Moore that much of a better player? I think DJ is a very good player, but he hasn't gotten better developmentally. Terrorist Marshall junior, Tommy tremble, chuba Hubbard, the development of your young players is just as much important as who you pick in the draft. All right, so we did tell you there is Adam mentioned that tepper is speaking right now. We have some of that. And we'll start here why he made the change at head coach. Listen, as I said, there's numerous reasons why you make a decision. There might have been a little bit of loss of intensity on the field yesterday. I would say that's probably evident versus the first four games. Listen, I have great respect for the fans, and I do hear the fans, but ultimately those that can't be a reason why you make a change like this, but again, there's numerous reasons why you make a change like this. You know, it's interesting what he said. It's about trajectory as well. Like what are you selling to people about the future of your franchise? And one of the things, one of the main things that gets coaches a lot is when their programs become stagnant. We talk about this in college. We talk about it in the pros. Are you going to settle for winning 9, 8, 9 games a year? Or are you trying to turn the page and really become a contender? And I'll tell you this about Panthers fans. Like I lived in Charlotte for three years. Then people crazy about the Carolina paragraph. They show up at a very high level. They are very supportive of that team. And look, temper is trying to put a product on the field and everybody can be proud of. Because let's all remember, this team is not far removed from a tremendous amount of success. The Thomas Davis is the Luke Keeley's of the world. Okay, I'm Newton's of the world. This franchise has some history there of a lot of success and a lot of really great players. So I think to your point, Dan, like the development, but also who are you excited to come to the stadium and see outside of Christian McCaffrey. I'm sure all of that went into this decision. Yeah, I mean, look, Matt rule wasn't dealt the best hand when it comes to the quarterback position. You've been revolving door of passers, teddy Bridgewater, Sam darnold, Cam Newton at one point now, Baker Mayfield. But while it hasn't been the strongest hand, all of those quarterbacks have actually played better in other spots than they did in Carolina. And I think when you're evaluating your head coach, you're looking both at trajectory as Marcus said. And then the question of are you elevating your talent or is it talent playing below where we've seen them play at other stops? You know, moving forward, this is a young, talented team. They will have a high draft pick, maybe more if they make some trades and more likely than they're not. They're going to pick a young quarterback. I think they have to ask, do we have a head coach in mind? Who we can build around with that young quarterback and also do we trust our GM, who's largely presided over some of the decisions made at the quarterback position lately to make that decision moving forward? Yeah, a reminder that they did draft Matt corral in this past draft, but of course he's been injured, so not available. Another thing that's interesting too, however you look at Baker Mayfield, he's now going to be on his 6th head coach in 5 seasons in the NFL. Time now for top stories brought to you by golden corral. Let's get back to Adam Schiff to hear more news from the Panthers. I just mentioned him. This time about Baker Mayfield, what's the latest there Adam? Well, Laurie, he's got a sprained ankle that's going to sideline him. I'm told at least a couple of weeks, which means that PJ walker is in line to start Steve Wilkes first game as the Carolina Panthers interim head coach. You saw Mayfield go down here yesterday. He was wearing a protective boot after the game went through tests today and doctors determining he's out at least a couple of weeks, though he's getting second opinions on what those doctors already told him today. As for the cowboys in their quarterback dak Prescott, he's going to continue to test that thumb this week. He had the surgery for weeks ago. And he still hopefully could come back this week at Philadelphia, probably unlikely the more logical plan would be to have him return the following week at home against the Detroit Lions, which would put Cooper rush in line to start again some at night. And the Miami Dolphins, after losing two of tundra by loa to a concussion, lost teddy Bridgewater to a concussion. So they're tough two quarterbacks were in protocol, teddy did check out yesterday. We'll see whether or not he can go right now. Two is still being evaluated. He's coming along and still sounds like it's unlikely he'll be ready to go this week and we should also mention Laura that deshaun Watson was back in the browns building today going through meetings today was the first day he was eligible to be back. He's not eligible to start practicing with the team until the middle of November, but for now he is back in the building. Adam also a couple more season ending injuries, unfortunate to see, starting with Rashad penny. It was shot painted the Seahawks running back is going to have surgery tomorrow on a broken leg. He is done for the season. The latest blow to a running back who said a lot of injuries and overcome an awful lot to be in the position that he was and the forty-niners starting quarterback Emmanuel Moseley did in fact ACL, which tests confirm today, so the forty-niners lose a key figure in their secondary who was playing perhaps the best football of

"I saw. I really liked. I thought their defense looked excellent. And they can still look as good as ever. Hunt coming off. I thought people's Jones was open. I think he had 11 targets in that game. He only caught 6, but I think more impactful than I was expecting. And I don't know, I like Carolina. I like that they fought back. That game was done. And they actually fought back, made some plays, and they came down to a 59 yard field goal. They should have won. Yeah. I appreciate Carolina's defensive scheme, and some of their personnel. I appreciate the browns, offensive scheme in their personnel. Both teams feel deficient for me on the other sides of the ball. I think the Panthers offense can be good with their weapons, but the line really freaks me out. I think the browns defense wants to schematically be like a cool team, match quarters and run the brand's daily stuff. But outside of cornerback, I don't think they have the guys in the back 7, right? You need to have a good mic line back or you need to have a good safety. I'm not sure they have that. It leaves gaps for me in those teams. I think the browns like Deshawn Watson comes back and is of the caliber of player that he had been pre sitting out for a season pretty suspension. Then you have the browns are a playoff team. I don't think that they're going to be good enough with Jacoby to hang around. The Panthers are the interesting one because it's Matt wolf fighting for his job plus Baker Mayfield fighting for his future as a starting quarterback. You get a win or two under your belt, you get this Phil snow defense working like it was last year before JC horn got hurt. Yeah, you're plucky. I think you're plucky. I will reserve judgment on good. We'll check back on that later. They have the Giants are plus one and a half this week. And I think that's going to be one of the $1 million picks. By and high on the Giants on the going against the Giants train when they have a lot of success. One thing I was thinking about because the fando has these alternate lines. And I really thought the chiefs were going to blow out the Cardinals last week. And I realized after the fact, I should have just bet the chiefs minus 19 and a half for some crazy thing with big juice. If you had to pick a blowout this week, what would you pick? Ram falcons? So you don't think that you think, you know anything, the falcons, anything they showed on offense, you don't think that's sustainable for this week. I generally like the falcons. And the falcons and the Seahawks are the two teams that come in in the season. I was like, I'm probably going to take them as underdogs for the first few weeks and feel good about it. I have the Seahawks against the niners like I like that matchup. Falcons do not match up well against the rams. The rams have the athleticism on defense to handle the way that the falcons play on offense. Obviously, not a big tile pits game, but the rams do have the guy to handle Kyle Pitts if they need to in Jalen Ramsey was able to move into slot for them. This super variegated running game. Will they put a ton of defensive backs on the fields? They're going to be able to send guys flying at that. On the other side of the ball, the falcons blitz like crazy. DNP is just dial up pressure dial up pressure. The book on this Matt Stafford rams era is get pressure with four and sit in zone. That's how they lost to the niners and the Titans last year is how else did the bills last week? Dean P is does not have the self control to put himself in that game plan. B and P's hates playing games like that. DP's wants to send pressure. And I think when they send pressure they're going to get burned. And you also get the extra week of preparation. You kind of get the wash off the bills game. I think rams falcons is a big one. Okay. Give us your sole same gamer. Yeah, so props are slow coming out, which is extremely rude because I had a great time on props last week, and I feel like I'm being targeted personally. We're taping this early Thursday afternoon. So sometimes they get, sometimes they're a little late. I saw from the Broncos, an offense that's going to be methodical. It's going to be dink and dunk. It's going to take us underneath throws. And I think they're going to possess the ball a lot against the taxes, because I think that Houston is really, really, really going to struggle to move the ball on a Denver defense that generally was pretty good against the Seahawks. So I like getting overs on the Broncos over 28 and a half team points, minus ten and a half on the spread. As I've communicated, I think it's a big game for the Broncos. But you can also get in there Russell Wilson passing attempts. You can get over 33 and a half, 35 and a half. And I can bring your juice up over like 500. So it's not as fat as any as our earlier ones, but I lost two of those parlays because they're touchdown legs. They didn't come home. So I got to wait on some touchdown ones, make sure I have a better feel for red zone touches. Well, we should mention last week you had, you almost hit that. It was 9 to one. We needed the Lance touchdown. And they were inside the 5, a couple times. I was like, we're getting this. We're getting this, and it's just a nap. But I thought that was a really good 9 to one parliament because he hit the over. You hit the under in the first half or first quarter, you nailed it. Yeah, I had, I missed AJ, I missed the Asia Brown one on the touchdown, and then the eagles alternate spread didn't come through, but we were sitting on that one for a while.

"Had just 5 catches in the red zone last year, placed them outside the top 80, but obviously that was partially a byproduct of Carolina, not spending an inordinate amount of time there. You'd like to think that Ben mcadam who knows where his best weapon is in the passing attack and that him and Baker Mayfield are able to get on the same page sooner rather than later. As far as this team defensively, they were extremely healthy last year. And obviously, if there's a little bit of a decline there, you do begin to worry about it. Carolina looked great when they beat up on lightweights early in the year, but they showed signs of wear and tear, especially over the second half of the season when they stepped up in class. They made a couple of additions this off season. You bring in Dante Jackson Xavier Woods and Mattie itis. You do lose Stefan Gilmore, who we talked about at great length. As a new member of the Indianapolis, colts Hasan Reddick was a key contributor in the past rush and day kwon Jones. When you try and assess Carolina and what we can expect from them on the defensive side, I look from the back all the way in and obviously there's reason for optimism, especially in the secondary, specifically at the safety position. I think you kind of are leading us the right way and this is a really tough defense to gauge for multiple reasons. Like there was this massive gap in production differential based on the level of offensive competition. There's also so many young guys with the slew of draft capital spent in the matria that you're just waiting for the light to turn on for so many of those young guys. Here's what we know and you hit it perfectly. Caroline is defense started out red hot weeks one through ten. There were number two in EPA per play allowed. Much of that success over that sample was beating up on rookies like Zach Wilson and Davis mills. You had Jameis Winston during a week the saints got hammered by the big C and was missing lots of players and coaches. You beat a backup in colt McCoy and then a miserable falcons team with the first time head coach. After their final win in week ten, Caroline is defense fell off a cliff from week 11 onward Carolina finished 31st in EPA per play allowed. Caroline didn't win a game against an offense that finished a bug above league average in adjusted offensive efficiency and started its number one quarterback. And that's something to think about here if there's not material upgrades and talent because Carolina goes from playing the fourth easiest schedule of offenses last season to an above average schedule this season. You mentioned some of the young guys in the back, but I think the front 7 is the area where we have some questions. They stayed extremely healthy last season, finished second as a unit in pass rush win rate. Does that regressive health progresses? But you look at some of the individual grades and some of the tape from guys that I really respect breaking down film. They're still not playing to their potential, even though they finished second in passer joint. Derek Brown was the 8th pick in 2020. In two seasons, he's hit the opposing quarterback 15 times and has been moved in the ground game. Gross mottos in two seasons has generate a 7% pressure rate on pass rush snaps. Not what you expect from two guys that were supposed to be cornerstone pieces and change the defense of culture and trajectory. Brian burns love and death. One trick pony. If he's not getting pressure, he's a liability. Now fortunately, burns produced a 12% pressure rate on pass rush snaps over his entire career and that's likely why he's going to get paid. Love the addition of Matt ione to stop 20 impression rate at the de tackle position last season. Jeremy chin made a massive year to leap specifically in his ability to cover. We know how versatile he is playing the slot can play in the box can get after the quarterback. But when he was in coverage, that's where we saw a pretty big leap, which is nice in a passing Lake. JC horn is going to be damn good. Rookie season was cut short. So getting him back for a full season is awesome. He does have elite traits. And when you look, even in his short time on the field, 95 coverage snaps as a rookie, gave up one reception for 8 yards. Quarterbacks refused to target him. That is a huge boost to the defense. Coaching staff claims that the 9th overall pick CJ Henderson from a few years back has turned the corner and had a fantastic so many times already. Yes. I know. I know. But you start to look at this young talent. Does the light eventually come on? And sometimes it does take two, three, four years. But you just look across the board, right? There's just this slew of young talent. If they can all kind of come together simultaneously. Maybe Phil snow has something here. But it does make me nervous. This defense crapped the bed against better offense as last season. And now we're projecting a significant uptick in competition. Again, there's room for improvement here just based on how young some of these guys are and God forbid you get four or 5 of them to play. Their best season at the same time. Could be on to something. When you look at Caroline and we'll leave it on there and a total encompassing snapshot. Do you feel that they've done themselves a disservice constantly chasing after veteran quarterbacks on the scrap eat more so than maybe looking to go, hey, we're going to scrap our ability or want to be competitive. We're just going to draft a guy and we're going to endure inevitable growing pains because obviously Baker Mayfield, if he goes out there and performs is still on the final year of his deal.

So all of the data and analytics firms in the space that you're all very familiar with. And it's just a question of which workflows and which datasets you have. All right, so talk to us a little bit. You were on the show. I think it was in December of last year. You kind of hinted that you're thinking about M and a. You guys made a big deal. I guess the biggest deal you have. So talk to us a little bit about that and how should customers think about it? Yeah, so we're very excited to have Q sub global services as part of the facts at family. And that really speaks to the trend of data management. So all of our clients are struggling to manage data. That's what we do beautifully. We've got a content refinery. So this really is good synergies with our data management services or data as a service. And it's also going to get us into some new client types. We're very excited about that. So another question for you. One of the slides I think talked about raising prices and so I don't know how much your costs are going up. I would imagine hopefully for you less than the prices that you're able to get. How do you see the environment for that? Do you think you can continue to raise price? We definitely have pricing power, traditionally we've only raised prices about 3% this year. We did it 4%. We definitely could do that. I think we're going to see how things play out this year. We want long-term relationships with clients, though. So we definitely try to make it fair for everyone, but if our costs go up significantly, obviously, that's going to be happening around the for everybody. Phil, how do you see yourself and again, we're the ones supposed to figure out the multiple and all the data that you guys provide. But relative to other info services companies, you traded a nice premium. And you traded a premium because I think of this pricing power and a addressable market that's still significantly above where you are. Just talk about how we should think about it. We've always traded at a premium to our peers and everyone says I want to wait until you come down. But you'll be waiting forever, I think you should do that. So with the subscription based model is fantastic. And it's just lots of reasons why clients want to stick with us. We're a consistently performing stock. I think there's probably less than this money stocks on the S&P 500 or public in the U.S. that have grown revenues and earnings as consistently as facts at house. So we're a safe harbor and choppy markets. We performed extremely well when the Internet bubble burst and when the mortgage crisis hit. So it just speaks to our product, the business model, and the relationships we have with all of our clients. Great to see you in person. Great. Thank you for having me. Okay. Guy, what's the trade on fax it? You stay long. I mean, you have had opportunities over the years. So if you look at this stock for the last, you know, decade or so. There have been 15, 20, 25% peak to drop declines, and you just saw one. Made an all time high of four 95 recently traded down basically to 400. You can do that math. And here we are getting back on the horse. So I think you get long the stock, Tim is right to point out valuation, but Phil is right to point out that, you know, if you've avoided the stock because of valuation over the last decade, you've missed out. All right, we've got a new development here on Twitter. The company confirming that it has been working on an edit feature since last year in a tweet, the company saying, no, we didn't get the idea from a poll. We're kicking off testing within Twitter, blue labs in the coming months to learn what works. What doesn't and what's possible. Of course it wasn't Elon tweeting about it right down. Well, listen, I think sawhill made some really good points about the creators there and how to grow it. And I didn't mean to sound pessimistic about it. I love it. I'm a Twitter blue user, and I am seeing the acceleration in some of the product growth. And so of course, they were working on some of that sort of stuff. So to me, you got to keep your existing customers happy and then you got to give them new tools to kind of create community and kind of gross. So to me, I think it's great. I'm sure that Elon because he has this mouthpiece now and he has a lot of skin in the game is going to continue to problem. Yeah, the part of the excitement here is what we've all said. I mean, Elon is a micromanager. He's going to be on time. If you're working on this last year, what took you so long? I mean, get it out there. And that on top of the anti censorship and some of the things that I think a lot of people out there are excited about. All right, coming up. Walmart.

"So I think you think it's very highly of Bill Belichick and I think you would look at a quarterback like Mac Jones and say he's a rookie, but if I'm getting open down the field, I don't think any receiver is going to look at what max has done so far this year and be concerned that he wouldn't be able to get him the football. Right? I think that magnificently be able to throw him the ball accurately and all that kind of stuff. Plus, when you look at Odell's skill set as somebody that can win it all three levels of the defense and win on some of the things that Mac Jones likes to throw, he's definitely one of those guys when he's at his best that can take a three step slam 80 yards to the house, right? That time Odell can do stuff like that. So it's not just he's not somebody that just needs to be throwing the ball down the field. He's someone that can win at the short and intermediate levels too. And then turn those into longer plays with yards after the catch. So he's a really interesting player and somebody that I think really changes the equation and sort of the schematics of the chessboard for the Patriots. If they can get a player of that caliber into this offense, I think everybody on the pecking order fits a lot better than what they did before that. Different from a guy like D Jackson and no offense to Jeep Jackson, I think is a good player too. But he doesn't completely change the deck, right? Odell comes in here and it feels like he would completely change the deck. Yeah, yeah, no, I mean it's too different conversations. It's not one or the other. It's do you want? To add a little bit of speed for the rest of the year or do you want to completely change the way your offense works? Right. Right. All right, let's get into this game preview and talk about the Panthers. This game has some low key juice. There's a very, very, very good defense down in Carolina brewing right now. Phil snow, their defensive coordinator has been with Matt rule for years. He was with Matt rule at Baylor with Matt rule at temple. And now he's with Matt role with the Panthers. And he is somebody that Belichick talked about on Wednesday as a multiple defensive coach, meaning they are going to throw a ton of different fronts in personnel packages at the Patriots. They have four or 5 different packages that they run and they cycle through from they play even fronts. They play odd fronts, they play four down dime, they play four two 5 nickel, big nickel. They play so many different packages based off of the situation, the personnel for the offense, the game plan. So there's a lot to worry about here. There's a ton of talent in that front 7. There are some vulnerabilities. I would say in the secondary, but this is one of those games where if your Mac Jones and you're the Patriots offense, you can not sit there and hang around. This has to be get the ball out, make quick decisions. If you sit there and wait for Brian birds and Hassan Reddick to come get you, they absolutely will. Yeah, I mean, we've talked about how that, you know, this new offensive line group has really helped them reach another level offensively..

"Is dj more a guy that can dominate this one on one matchup against digs that ultimately decide this. The cowboys defense has been interesting. That's kind of the best way to put. It all told their fifth and adjusted defensive. Epa per play but they also lead the league takeaways. They're below average in down to down success right both against the run pass their twenty eighth lake an explosive pass defense so again. I know there's improvement under dan quinn. That's very clear. At least the guys have a direction. They at least know what they're doing what they're being asked to do unlike last year's defense when they decide to hired defensive coordinator who. Who did they hire. Wh who did mike mccarthy bringing. I just have no idea how. Good the defenses at this point and i think ultimately this game where we're like is carolina's offense for real is dallas is defense for real. We're gonna early on in the season as much as we believe. We have a good idea of exactly what some of these teams are on the offensive or defensive side of the ball you do get these litmus test games and i think this is definitely one of them because when you watch dallas defensive performance against philadelphia as well there were still plenty of big plays to be. Had or jalen hurts. Just wasn't accurate enough with the football. I mean the perfect illustration was the opening. Drive coming out in the second. Half you get the big play to jump start things. And you miss zakar. Choose wide open. The ensuing play devante smith falls down trevan digs jumps the route and a game. That could have been you know. Twenty to ten or twenty to fourteen suddenly becomes twenty seven seven and the cowboys are able to play downhill the remainder of the game and take away some of that eagles ground game that was non existent now on the other side. Even early in the game right like jalen. Rieger was wide open on on the deep ball. That's just underthrown by probably ten yards that causes the thankful for that. That's the one that led to the offensive touchdown. Though at least right so semi disseminate that you're right. I mean there are shots to be had and you wonder if sam darnold will be able to take full advantage of it and i guess we'll see how carolina lex to use their tandem of running backs between trouble hubbard and rice freeman. Who is you alluded to. Don't provide that pass catching element out of the backfield that makes christian. Mccaffrey the best in that particular department. Now on the other side carolina's defense. They've been the real surprise story of the early season. Things get a little bit more difficult as you lose. Jc horn expected to be out for the remainder of the regular season to carolina's credit. They go out there and they acquire a former first round. Pick and cj henderson. But you're also down nickel defender miles hartfield and a starting safety and just embarrassed which won't help but i don't want to bury the lead where carolina. Hey look. they're holding their opponents to less than two hundred yards per game. They've held opposing passing attacks and shack. They've been good against the ron. They're getting after opposing. Quarterbacks with san rettig and brian burns but the cowboys offense is a much different animal than taking on the jets this saints or of course the lowly texans same side in your same thing on this side of the ball for me. It's we're gonna find out a lot because you've kind of hesitated there. I can tell it in your tone that you weren't quite sure what carolina's defense is and like you. We we called for an increase in production. We thought all those young guys that were drafted last year and then at adding jc horn. To and having. Brian burns kind of turn into that premier pass. Rusher would help this defense. You have phil snow in year. Two teaching his principles. All of those things. And you're seeing carolina defense right now. That's the most efficient in the nfl or number one against the run number one against the past number one pass rush win rate you name it but you got zack wilson. His first nfl start. You got davis mills on a short week in his first. Nfl start and a saints team without any receivers on a week. Seven of their offense of staff members weren't available including their line coach and bass game coordinator. Now you can only play. Who's on the schedule right. It's grade the panthers of dominated those teams but this test and i'm thankful that the organization said hey we're three and l. like we believe were legitimate. We're gonna make a run at this thing so you go out and you get. Cj henderson to kind of help fill that void of jc horn henderson was a guy. Carolina debated taking with the seventh pick and the twenty twenty draft so they they got him her fraction of their perceived value. Which is a no brainer for them. But the loss of jc horns massive. And we'll see if that ultimately changes the philosophy of what's phil snow tries to employer because carolina's a team right now. It's playing super aggressive. It's almost like a five to four with tight man coverage outside and they also blitz like thirty seven percent rate and without jc horn. In this matchup you're wondering if the secondary can hold up and so this is really the first big test for carolina's defense. I don't know if that styles going to play here against cooper and lamb if it can it's likely because the front five in the blitzer getting home and giving back trouble dallas's thirtieth in pass block win rate through three games horrific number there but i will say when i watched dak place so far. He's been fantastic. He has been great pre-snap eh. he's talented enough post nap. And so despite the line being the third worst in the league through three games dax been pressured at the twenty third highest clip in the nfl. At twenty nine percent matt rule came out. I don't know if you heard this but just super high praise for dabke flat out said on film. It's like watching peyton manning. It's like watching drew. Brees call a game. At the line of scrimmage what dax doing right now is unbelievably impressive. And that's the same thing. I'm seeing so dak to. This point is really good at seeing. What's coming most of the time audible around that pressure and then get the ball out quickly and get it to where it needs to go. It's possible that means we see more of like a short passing attack here. You'd think maybe the running backs get involved through the air. But what's interesting is the other part of phil's knows defense that plays with three safeties on the field. So as soon as it's run those guys are crashing down. If a short pass to a back there immediately sniffing that out and so carolina's only given up eight receptions for fifty four yards two running backs three games but this again just comes down to some some real interesting matchups within this game and it's carolina's corners. Are they going to be able to hold up and coverage without jc horn. I think we're going to find out pretty quickly. Can the cowboys protect tack front against this five man front pressures with a bunch of exotic blitzes if carolina's corners can hold up in man. And they get to deck. They're going to win this game. If we find out carolina's secondary can't hold up against man and lamb and cooper just going nuts and dax doing a great job negating pressure with things pre-snap in getting the ball out quickly posting up. Cowboys are gonna cover. But that's really how important those two matchups are on the side of the ball. Talk yeah i think when you look at the way these teams play out now. Obviously the cowboys had expectations to win the division and get to the playoffs knowing how talented that offense is carolina meanwhile in a bit of a transition season i think oddsmakers have been reluctant to buy into them carolina despite their three start still underdogs to make the postseason and when you look at some of their adjusted win totals uphill battle but a win over dallas on a short week for the cowboys would go a long way in terms of submitting carolina as one of those fringe contenders figuring that. There's still a very much a long shot to win. The division knowing that tampa bay has much more of a pedigree in that particular department from the early session pain into the afternoon. And we'll head out to the stadium where we'll see if the rams can run it back this time they welcome in a division in the arizona cardinals. You're looking at the rams a modest four and a half point home favourite in this matchup. Total bed up to fifty five here when you look at this recent series history between these two teams. Well it's been one-sided and that might be a bit of an understatement. The rams have absolutely owned the cardinals under shawn mcveigh's leadership going eight. No straight up seven own one against the spread average margin of victory in those games. Twenty points per game.

"The potential in Carolina right now. It already was ridiculous yet, Sam darnold, who's never really had the help he deserved, he got a great coaching staff, you got a great owner who's investing tons of money in the franchise, they're building something really cool. And then they go get CJ Henderson a player that it's just oh man, it's awesome. And I talked in the preseason about how one of the keys to the Jaguar season is can they develop their young talent? This isn't in my notes, but now that I think about it, it's like, well, Carolina is clearly doing a amazing job developing their young talent so far in Jacksonville, they've already traded away a first round pick. They gave up on CJ Henderson. I think having good players around CJ Henderson in Carolina is going to help him. They're all building something together. Plus the defensive coordinator and Carolina is a fantastic dude, Phil snowy's awesome. I think CJ is going to enjoy playing for Phil snow. It's going to be a good time there. Now, this will not be remembered as the Dan Arnold trade. We're not going to look back and go, hey, remember the Dan Arnold trait? No, no, no. However, Dan Arnold is a really talented receiving tight end. He's been underrated in my opinion ever since he was with Arizona Cardinals. He made a couple of catches, two, three years ago that I was like, is anybody this new Dan Arnold? I know, not a household name at all, but he is making great plays. And Jacksonville desperately needed a title. This was a move that solve the big problem a hole in their roster. They went out and they got their young quarterback Trevor Lawrence a rookie. Number one overall pick I mean, if you get a young quarterback, your job is to build a team around them and provide them with weapons. Hey, credit the Jaguars, they went out and got Dan Arnold that really, really.

"This is the thursday september. Twenty third edition of the daily wager podcasts. We got thursday night football with the panthers at texans and maybe a little ryder cup action after we talk football which covered everything. And you know. Set you up in ten minutes maybe slightly more or less with everything you need heading into the bedding day. Welcome to the daily wage. Podcast presented by draftkings. America's top rated daily fantasy is the tag team of anita marks. Tyler folder with you on this thursday anita of course some thursday night football weeks three officially kicks off the houston texans hosting the carolina panthers and clearly. The panthers are favored in this game. Given the fact that there are surprising to and on the texans down their quarterback tyrod taylor. Panthers land eight on the row. Total of forty three will start with the game side or total. What do you like here. there's a there's quite a bit. That i like your first and foremost i do believe this. Panthers team is going to win. I mean You know you've got a rookie quarterback davis mills who's coming in by the way i like but We're seeing how rookie quarterback's a number of them are struggling. Just gonna take them a minute To to get their feet beneath them in in really get a good handle on how to play in the nfl so without being said. I think this This panthers line is a really great line to us. As a as a teaser. A two team. Six point teaser. So i'm going to be teasing the panthers up on the align them with arizona minus one ravens minus two. The broncos might four and a half against the jets. So i'm going to utilize the panthers as a part one of a two team. Six point teaser. Also i like the panthers minus four and a half at the half. And also i like the panthers team total over twenty six and a half and a big reason here again. Davis mills getting the start over. Tyrod taylor i think mills is going to struggle against this defense. There are a lot faster. They're a lot better than most people anticipated mills have borne perceptions in the preseason when he came in for tyrod taylor in week two forty four percent completion percentage. He did throw a pick. So i think the panthers deepens i think they're gonna force turnovers. They're gonna put. Sam darnold in this carolina panthers offense in really good field position to score some touchdowns and i'm also. I'm expecting to really really really really big night from christian mccaffrey. If you have a christian mccaffrey on your fantasy football team. God bless you. I'm expecting a huge night from him. That's for sure that's no different than any week if you have. Cmc on your on your fancy team. If you had the first pick in fantasy drafts you have a head. Start a leg up on all your competition. Emc even if he doesn't score a touchdown especially in cpr leagues is just a point machine. Like a few players ever seen in the history of the nfl. I will lady eight with the panthers. I just think with their defense looking great under phil snow some of the acquisitions. They made this off season. Morgan fox assign rettig. Brian burns making a leap in his development. They're proud in the middle. That of is gonna be way too much for an overmach Texans team that even if they were fully healthy at a decided disadvant- personnel standpoint than you have davis mills a third round rookie. Only made eleven starts and collegiate career despite being a very noted prep prospect coming out of high school Big time a situation where they're overmach. You mentioned the offense aside. Sam darnold under the tutelage of joe brady having robbie anderson terrace marshall of course. Bj more in the aforementioned christian mccaffrey. I'll lay the eight there. I'll isolate panther side. I know how to attack this total. Because i don't know if they're gonna score thirty five points or just you know score the twenty six to twenty seven. That will be needed to win this game but certainly Mills may give them the ball with short field or give them the ball and they can take it to the house. So total scares me but i do think a wise that at minds one forty five is the panthers to score more or over two and a half eighteen touchdowns i think mccaffrey himself is in line for two. We can talk about that in the props and a second but over two and a half touchdowns for the carolina panthers big as a most comfortable way to attack one specific side. Especially since i believe the panthers will win this game by at least eight points. Now we've got to get the people what they want. They didn't come here for sides and totals. Maybe they did but we like to hand out. Prop winters prop queen lead us off. What you've got girl. Oh boy okay. How much time do we have on this on. This on this podcast. I'm i've got. I've got a lot today all right. So like i said christian. Mccaffrey over eighty four and a half rushing yards. Also i love this one again. If we're on agreement that carolina's gonna win how christian. Mccaffrey scored a touchdown in the panthers. Winning minus one forty. Yeah i really like that also. How about this christian. Mccaffrey scoring two touchdowns at two twenty five up even more because of the payout right right. I mean you know other panthers profits. Dj more over five and a half receptions. It's evident the chemistry between him. And sam. darnold has been spot on all season long now for the houston. Texans brandin cooks over five. And a half receptions. I do believe game script. You and i talk about it every time. I think the texans are going to be coming from behind. And so i think mills is going to be trying to get the ball in the hands of one. Brandin cooks quite a bit. Keep in mind. You do have a danny ahmadullah dealing with a hamstring issue in non nico collins. Do the shoulder. They're both expected to be out. So i think brandin cooks could very well at any given up to twelve. Fifteen targets tonight tyler. I really do so over. Five and a half receptions at plus money. I'm all for it by the way when mills came in last week when tyrod taylor got injured. Nine of his seventeen passes went to so again obviously. They're hooking up marking over forty two and a half rushing and receiving yards. Also mark ingram over two and a half receiving yards. I do believe that they utilize in the passing game. I know it's a crowded backfield. But i'm targeting mark ingram in overs today a later tonight and then not in the mills. Lot juicier tyler. I'm curious get your thoughts on this minus one. Ninety that davisville rosen interception again. I know it's a lot of jews if it's in my opinion it's money making money if you got the money and you feel comfortable laying that number all the power to you. And here's another one for you. I talked about Christian mccaffrey scored a touchdown in the carolina. Panthers winning again. If you're as confident as i am that the panthers are going to win this game. Again christian mccaffrey dischord touchdown. The panthers win minus one forty christian mccaffrey. How about this scoring. I scoring the first touchdown of the game and the panthers winning at plus three sixty. I really liked that. Dj more dan arnold the titan and the panthers defense. You can get them again. Dj more plus one seventy five. Dan dan arnold. They're tied and plus by fifty in the panthers. Defense post by fifty scoring touchdown and the panthers winning. I'm going to. i'm just. I'm gonna play all i'm all that not surprising at all like a lot of what you're saying there especially on the panther side As far as mccaffrey is concerned. I'd rather just go for the two touchdown game at that plus money plus twenty five. He's he's averaging twenty nine and a half touches per game. This season so of mccaffrey gets close to thirty touches against this texans team. I like the probability of scoring to. I don't want to lay the juice for just one. I'd rather just get the plus money onto. Because i think that is a thirty to forty percent chance that he does that if he plays this team. One hundred times given the circumstances As long as he touches the ball that many times again we know. Mccaffrey can do it on the ground. Dude on the air. So i'll just go straight to rushing amherst saving yards. Casey is just a big day on one side of the other..

"Unit league-wide right. Now i one day. No one's talking about him the next day. The internet is abuzz about the panthers. Defense on what. I say animals twitter. It's not really a hipster thing because they are actually leading in every category to literally every category through two weeks credible small sample size arly being overly enthusiastic I guess it depends on exactly how hyped up your about them. I mean they played the jets and the saints who are banged up at wide receiver. So the the only like great wide receiver that they saw really in the first. Two weeks was corey. Davis but phil snow is doing a lot of interesting stuff. He came in through the college ranks. He's the defense coordinator right. Now is very rex ryan e in that like they're blitzing at you from all sorts of directions. There was actually a point where the panthers called the same mug front blitz three times in a row. I'm not sure if i've ever seen that at the nfl level. I believe in their front a lot more than i do in their secondary right now just because they really haven't been tested but they get the texans this week so i don't think we're going to get an answer either Daiquan jones is playing a lot better than i would have assumed in. You know brian burns's he's that guy. Brian burns is that guy. He's been that guy and he's finally getting the reps to prove it. Outside of that. I mean darnold. Was that the best darnold game that we've ever got nine of them. You actually have decent. There was one throw where it looked like he was trying to to be patrick mahomes thrown across his body six. But outside of that. I mean that was. I think that was donald best game. I was pretty Pessimistic about what donald could do there. Well the saints defense is more banged up than the saints his breaking game. But yeah no darling like You know taking advantage of the play action pass opportunities. He had a quick look comfortable. he looked good. He was playing quickly. I tell you. I think that's what jumped out to me like. It didn't look like you slow in didn't do anything stupid. But the defense what stands out to me so first of all. We should give shout out to me. Show contributor stephen rees because we bring you the nfc south and he was really hyping up. Phil snow. i feel like we're gonna do like. Who is the first onfield. Snow He he he was very. He is a panthers fan so He was impressed by him last year. As well in each just didn't really have the personnel. And i think what jumps out to me watching them is not just some of the schematic craziness. We can talk about inventiveness particular with the pressure bandages but like you are saying contributions not just from brian burns who he knows. Awesome or jeremy chin. But guys like morgan fox. Which was he would actually pretty decent with the rams. And i had of like this might actually matter that he's gone. But watching the saints game he just popped off screen to me and again. Some of it was kim benefiting from the confusion created elsewhere Shaq thompson looks like he might have the best season of his career. I think the early performance a jc horn is encouraging. But it feels like in. I think i think steven actually mentioned gray on roy being good and i was like who is that human a very good. He's been really good. And so i think it is like it's an interesting. It's a combination of what they're doing up front and the players they have Being like they were kind of good last year and now they've kind of graduated actually just being good. Yeah and they always had a couple of guys who could run right dante jackson. It's it's real hard to beat him deep and now if you get a guy like jc horn hornhues. I mean they drafted him to play. Pressman basically our press match. What whatever it is And they're just they're just getting a lot out of the personnel that they have defensively right now. Like i said daiquan. Jones is on twitter right now. Talking about he's hitting offensive linemen with reggie white just tossed a guy to the side like all. These guys are playing above expectation at this point. Brian burns looks like a superstar I think this defense is probably solid. But again i just wanna wait a little bit until we until we see them. Play against a team with two actual. Nfl wide receivers as also no break so with the saints. That's a really good point. So what i'm not even like it's not me. Diagnosing matt rule came out and said it stopping the run because then on second seven. You're not sitting here playing run defense. We played a lot of the bear front and played mandate played. They're playing more man than they did. Last year But this is still primarily zone team so some of that works because of the offensive lines or face which is weird right. because you're like the saints offensive line is really good. I totally blanked. Until i watched his game that eric nicoli lesson play. It was obvious had ruis pete in regard. They had them confused. He had a bad. It's weird because like a center in college released. I feel like he was will the grass into guard because they already anyways whatever whatever his background is he was not ready he was not he was terrible in this game and it's funny because a lot of it was on janus but a lot of it was also on the saints offensive line just being completely and utterly confused by where the pressure is coming from..

"Like i think he had six sacks for the saint for the rams should say but he's an active member as well but yeah rhetoric is winning that a sack competition with. Brian burns right now. I so i definitely was worried. Last year. that phil snow was like kinda over like in over his head. A little bit As a defensive corner of the nfl and that was just like you know the the stereotypes have against like older older guys in like taking on a new job. And are they going to adapt to the demands of a new job. And different like scheming and stuff like that. And then what. I think but i think the reason for it was not as much the fact. That debate is even bad last year but like have they were bad like situationally like they're really about on third downs leave out in the reds and stuff like that but this year like the the creativity in unpredictability of his defense like like. You're talking about like jeremy chin coming in on blocked in a four man rush just like watching the front for a rushing this like the The like we bring lots of fresh air and we bring it from like so many different places in so many different angles like. I don't know how often blinds are supposed to be able to prepare for the way that we generate pressure on the quarterback like every place a different combination of people rushing like linebackers rushing. Defensive ends rushing like everybody's all over the place yeah. I think it was a dan orlovsky that i was watching today which he. He's not always the best take machine but nobody is really anymore like you kind of have to just accept that most people on main sports networks are there more for their personalities undertakes than they're like intelligence but there's gets there he mentioned a few. He mentioned that the panthers defense moves around quite a bit. They do a lot of stunts and overall it seems like the objective for.

"So i i'm really interested to see if that can keep up especially with injuries to to some guys. They were expecting. Good things from like janaka walkway. So you know. We'll see. But i think we both feel like the raiders are gonna be in this thing to december and you know paul. I really felt coming into this season that it was going to be the los angeles chargers that might have an outside chance to challenge kansas city. And i still really like charges. But now i think it could be the chargers. And the raiders. The ironic part of it. Obviously is that you know. The kansas city and the chargers are both one in one and the raiders and broncos are both surprising to know but anyway the one other to winnow team that i am really kind of fascinated with is the carolina panthers i just never. I never saw it coming but i think as i wrote about my column on monday. You know the fact that phil snow. Their defensive coordinator made some changes this year. They have an oppressive defensive front in particular curious. Your thoughts about them and about you know. They're they're suddenly transient quarterback trying to find a home. Sam darnold star with a defense in first of all just backing up a little bit. They have they have all kinds of first round talent and also second round talent on that defense over half of their starters were drafted in the first or the second now is a lot of great players. Were amid round. Picks late round picks. But what that tells me. These guys are wonderful physical traits and they're finding good homes for them so it's a very talented defense. And what phil snow is doing. And i think yesterday was a better example. Because doing it against. Zach wilson is one thing but jameis winston say what you will this guy what you know. Seventy or eighty starts in the nfl right and he was confused. And that's the number one thing. The most underrated part of defense. I don't care if you bring four if you bring age. You want that quarterback to be hesitant at the line of scrimmage to have a little bit of wonder what are they doing. Is the pressure coming from. Here's from their boom. It's on me james. Winston had that looked at him yesterday. So defensively i love what they're doing. They're at an offense. Small sample size peter but through two games we hear this term identity. What's teams identity going to be on offense. Sam darnold numbers and his production. The first two games almost the exact same when you look at the number of times. He's throwing high sixty percents in the completions. His yards per exam almost identical in two games. Christian mccaffrey touching at twenty nine or thirty times both games so the not only winning. It's a team. Where if you really following you can say then the feeling of who they are. They know what they wanna be. They know what that production needs to look like in that system. I think they're really checking those boxes. Career identity as well as any team in the league. You know the one thing. I believe about carolina. That is just really interesting. Is that what matt rule comes in. He's only been there now for eighteen games so when he came in from baylor. I think people really didn't know what to expect. But now you can get a little bit of a read on him. I think he he. Let's fill snow coach. He lets joe brady coach the offense and he is a big program guy and and i kind of liked that about a head coach. If you have confidence in your coordinators hey listen you wanna know what they're doing but it's like you know. I learned a lot about football for covering the giants in the eighties..

"All right as low as we are going to go through the games that we're looking at that we're circling researching we're sniffing out like of like my dog. Willow is sniff something. Before he eats at british sniff out these bets we have four possible t slash parlayed teams. That like i love to the other. Toma talk about. Patriots are minus five and a half against the jets. I think this line moves to seven or seven and a half by gametime. I don't understand why the line is so low especially when becton the jets left. Tackle is out. I zack seemed like he was running for his life. Half that game anyway. Sacked six times. The pats i think are good. I actually like just for this game. That they're coming off a loss because bell checks. Does you know the own thing no Mac answered a lot of questions for me in that game and it was a really stupid game that they lost. I think they have way more talent than the jets. So i wanna put them in a tease or parlayed disagree with any of that before we get to this particular match up the amount of responses. I think i'm i live on twitter a little bit more than you do. Never out there. So i know. I know the amount of responses. I got being tagged in every post because you took the patriots to win. A super bowl was enough for me not to get out of bed the next day. What has been the reaction in your circles of you picking the patriots not only to make the playoffs but to win the super bowl before the season. I gotta tell you. I feel better about it this week. I did last few deal when the chiefs defense today impress you last week. Did anyone in the afc north knocks. Your socks off. Did the bills that your socks off. I think it's open that only. There's a great team. You saw that pass through off his back foot. The you're like all right. They're going to win this game. Then damian harris fumbles. You're just like what and they just don't get the ball back and would then we're off to sixty minutes and i'm like wait a second. There's still more to be played. It made no sense at the end there. I thought they were going to win that game but they didn't this week take care of business. I think the that the spread is like. I think vegas and a lot of the people. Don't see how the patriots are going to generate enough points to win by a touchdown you know like the win. But it's it's not this high flying offense they don't put points up on the board. They only scored what i think. Nineteen or eighteen points last week. Whatever it was Gabe miami might have a really good defense. They might and they might have that. But i think the vegas and all those folks really respect sala and bella check was so complimentary of solid this week that i think he knows the scheme knows in but i agree. This is one of those where bella check kills you with kindness and he's gonna cut your throat like i think they come out there. This mac played so well last week. And i know it doesn't show up in the fantasy football numbers but flora's sent pressure the entire game and jahns. He faced five or more rushers on forty eight percent drawbacks and he stood in there and he delivered. I'm looking at some of the numbers. I i've jotted down research on these games. Florus sent pressure more than twenty five percent of dropbox and mack jones had one hundred twenty three passer rating. When he did jones is going to be that he's so competent he so capable and quite frankly on the other zach played. Well but rookies are six and twenty against ballot check. It's a very complex. Defense is this is not the phil snow panthers who had six sacks this is bella check patricia and all the different belcher. Kids like drawing stuff up to confuse a rookie. I see them rolling in this one. I also thought they were way too conservative in the first half. Maybe i three quarters of that game and makhlulif the little nervous get it. But they're doing a lot of too tight end lot of always running on first downs the fight that and i actually thought when they spread it out he was pretty good and he has that brady ability if he goes to the line. He's kind of looking around and he's kinda knows where to go. And i bet they unleash him a little bit in the jets game. I really think they're going to kind of experiment with i think some different formations. I think you hit becton being out. The jets offensive line is atrocious. One of the worst leagues the puck. The the the panthers had six acts and they're not exactly right. That's ninety five bears. The nineties eagles. They they're not that That i think you're gonna see a lot of joshua che. I think this is where you get your tax from the backfield. Like i could see this being. I know it's on the road and the jets always play hard. You know when. It's the patriots in town. But i could see this being ugly and very early ballot check against rookie. Qb i need to know no more. We're gonna probably use the patriots as swing team for a couple of different pets that the other one the other one i really like cards minus three and a half against the vikes. Your guy cliff. That was one of the crispus games anyone played and i gotta say i said this sunday night watching it. It's clear the kyla murray was just really hurt the second half last year because that looked like the old kylie murray was flying around like he just flying and defensively they're frisky. I know the titans having some issues. But they're frisky. So i look there only three and a half against the vikings. I think the vikings are getting this weird respect from the you know the vegas job is just to make the spread eagle action. I think people still think the vikings are good. And they're not. It's not a good team. they're not well. Coached i think zimmer is has to be in the running for i coach fired. You can't overstate wouldn't abomination that week. One loss was and how bad they were. And then the cards you know at least for september Yeah i don't know i just i. I was surprised that line was on the cards by seven. Vikings defense was the worst. It's ever been under zimmer last year and then all all off season it was built up the defense they're healthy..

"Him. Do work see. I'm looking forward to seeing justin. Herbert play against his vaunted washington football teams defense. We both went crazy about both of these. Were just the herbert in particular this season based on what he did his rookie year and watch the football team. Defense based on a lot of people's opinions supposed to carry them to the nfc championship and getting into the playoffs and being able to make noise. Herman got his work. Cut out for him. This has the work cut out for them. Can't wait to see it. Rookie zack wilson against the carolina. Defense zach look fantastic. The preseason starts now he gets to go up again. Brian burns one of the rising young pass. Rushers in the league arising defense overall. That's getting better every year under defensive coordinator phil snow on zach. Wilson is up to the challenge and if he looks good if he did preseason watch out. Let's get to the browns chiefs guys. They have been blown out their last two season openers. The browns by combined sixty two points. That's not exactly what. Cleveland fans wanna hear. Is their team heads to arrowhead. Especially as they get set to play. Patrick mahomes in the chiefs. Mahomes has been otherworldly in the month of september in his career ranking first among all quarterbacks qbr touchdown interception ratio and yards per attempt. Oh and by the way the chiefs ten and those games all right so you're telling me there's a chance maybe anyway time for light decisions provided by. Ibm watson and marcus. Mahomes may be great week one but last night we saw him. He was running for his life in the super bowl. It's why they ended up building that offensive line in this off season around him to protect him. What are you watching for in this one. That's the exact tobel boogie bringing in orlando brown and joe tony and obviously draft and trey smith out of tennessee. Who a lot of people are how on at the garden spot creed. Obviously you see guys here. But you got miles. Gary today cloudy in this cleveland. Browns defense coming in week one continuity it takes a while we all think these guys can play for the can't say cheese offensive land but when you're facing arguably the top pass rusher in the league and myles garrett and also today cloudy a fresher machine and these detachments who can get some push in the center of this defensive line as well. That's the matchup that i'm focused on. Because they're soon as this line. This line for the kansas city teams bill bill rapport and have continuity and all of the communication throughout the course of a game and these guys see real time action when mahomes is protected. He's almost impossible to be. And we think that's what the narrative is going to be this year with the group that they've assembled. I'm just interested to see if we won. They have some issues with communication and being on the same page. If not we talking about tampa going seventeen in old echo. Quite it could literally be the kansas city chiefs in that compensation royal excited to watch the browns defense. I mean we spent the whole off-season talking about the changes investments. They made on that side of the ball especially in the secondary signing john. Johnson safety from the rams teammate troy hill The cornerback. Marcus you and brian. You can't see me right now. You remember him. From the infamous giants practice is back. Rookie greg losing the second. He starting okay so the goes talent. Now we plan offense like the cheese. It's as much about how you deploy that talent as the as the personnel itself like when kansas city comes out in their three by one formation with travis kelsey split out wide. Who's got kelsey who's got tyreek hill. When even on those deep crossers that are so difficult to defend. Those are the decisions that joe woods. Who is the defensive. Coordinator of cleveland is going to have to make and finally now. He has the players to make those decisions. So i'm really excited to see what he does the way. This is troy hill. So i'm actually really excited. That meena bought up that. We'll call it little skirmish because this week. I've been watching swag. I've been watching dan orlovsky. Dan said that you have to go. Hey maker for haymaker with the kansas city chiefs and that's why you can't run football. I don't agree with that. I mean as you guys know. I have 'em in may show now. And i've seen many dropped by getting punched in deliver drop by getting punched indicate. And that's what you get them on the ground bingo and so now if you have kareem hunt and now you have. Trump signed a new deal. Those plays can turn into huge place. Dole's place can turn into points and what happens when you can't stop the run as meena calms mentioned on the production called willy gays. Not there right tyron. Matthew might not be playing so now you can't stop the ruin that's kevin's the fancy gets into play accident which we saw baker mayfield excel at down in the second half of the season last year. So i can't wait to see this run game with the kansas city chiefs who we've never being very physical a dominant against the cleveland. Who are they are physical. They are greedy. They are dominant in. And if you can't stop that then you won't have patrick mahomes on the field to make all of those plays it'd be protected. This game is so interesting from a style and fight matchup. I cannot wait to see what you say. I guess they believe you because you said it. I guess they believe you say it. You go blow for blow your throw the ball all over the yard. So sorta hill put the ball against the bad run defense. That's like ryan said styles make fights matchups. Well we all know. They're going to believe me know when she said it right the rest of us. I'm not so sure she's smarter. Nfl jones making his rookie debut against his former alabama. Teammate sunday. Newton spoke publicly today for the first time since the new england patriots cut him ten days ago in a youtube live with father. "Once again, two for two on your part, bringing me in just as a team scores. And that's Washington with a field goal from Dustin Hopkins from 30 yards. To get them on the board. That was after a pretty decent drive that was keyed by 27 Yard rush by Antonio Gibson a huge, gaping hole up the middle, and then he took off up the Washington sideline to get them into scoring opportunity. But then the offense bogged down just a little bit of appeared that the referees missed a facemask call. On a three yard loss run by Gibson on the very next play after that 27 yard game in Washington couldn't really get the offense going again after that, But they do culminate the drive with a 30 yard field goal from Dustin Hopkins. He struggled all in training camp and the preseason and last year or so, even though it's a short kick. It's certainly a good sign that he made what he absolutely had to make. And it's against 7 to 3 Chargers, Justin Herbert and the Chargers went right down the field on the first drive. 10 plays 75 yards, five minutes and 46 seconds, culminating in that Austin click touchdown. But they went three and out on their second drive. So Washington's defense showing a sign of life here early on 732 57 left to go from landowners Act. There's Kris Russell, as will continue to have updates throughout the day Chargers at Washington football team. It was reported earlier that there was a fumble that did go for a touchdown. In the Cardinals Tennessee game. The fumble did happen. Cardinals did take over the football, however, it was after review. It was ruled not a touchdown. The Cardinals are in the red Zone, and Kyler Murray just threw a touchdown pass. So pending the extra point, it will be 10. Nothing so just happened. A few moments later than earlier reported. We'll see if that does stand. It did look like that. DeAndre Hopkins was able to get two FT. Down is that was just some acrobatic catch for a six yard touchdown reception will give you one more update right here in this segment. Jets at the Panthers. It looks like it's back in forth between Zach Wilson and Sam Donald. But not in the way that you would think Kevin Casey are no score five minutes to go in the first quarter between Carolina and the Jazz. Zach Wilson, one of four so far too drives. They both resulted in front one of four passing seven yards a SEC. Brian Burns picking up the sack for Sam Donald. Carolina has moved up the field. They are now facing 1/4 and about six when they are going to punt from the jet. Uh, looks like right around the 34 yard line, so they're going to try to trap them in and trust the defense because Carolina's defense has been very stingy so far. And the Jets will have its 1st and 10 of their own 15, But Sam Donald three of five of six passing 22 yards, Christian McCaffrey to rushing attempts, 15 yards, one reception for 11 yards. No score first quarter between the Jets and Carolina 4 37 to go first quarter and I look at that Carolina defense this year. I'm very intrigued by them and encouraged by them. It's a very complex system. By Phil Snow. We saw a little bit of success in your number one some meltdowns in the fourth quarter, but as you continue to go, you look at that team. Burns is just absolutely tremendous. He's a superstar and Jeremy Chin is one of the more underrated players in the league. We do have a touchdown, and that touchdown just did occur in Seattle, Tyler Lockett with this first receiving touchdown on the year. As that does come your way from Russell Wilson. So we have an update will get to all the games back on the other side of the one o'clock window. A very busy start on the first football Sunday of the year. It is I on football. I am your host sack. "Yeah i think it'll be interesting to see how he develops. The offense around some of the changes like they added signed drafted. Tommy tremble was out of notre dame. Who's pretty like i would say. Well rounded very good blocker. And then you get mccaffrey. Back draft a shubra hubbard just seeing that. Oh yeah like. It's a nice group skill players. Yes like my first thought. When i was thinking when i was watching this offense and thinking about the changes they made an off season i was like. Oh maybe they got rid of samuel because they want to do the more ram stuff and have like a slot receiver. That can block. And i was like. Oh tears. marshall is bigger than i looked up now on. Oh so that's not it. He's like no what. I only watched a little bit of them so i don't really know his game all that well but i think maybe they can use other guys to do. That doesn't curtis samuel trying to do crack blocks and it just didn't work. It was funnier when robbie anderson was doing. 'cause he's like so skinny. Huge is getting not back five yards but if they can find a guy to do that. Maybe david moore. Is that guy i think they can maybe lean into the playoffs and stuff more and we. They could do the things we're talking about helping darnold though but certainly if they can't if he has to spread things out i don't i don't know i don't see with darnold. It would certainly help the offensive line if he was a little by some time for them. Because like i said you know outside of obviously they just extended taylor moton. Who's very good but the entire sir from left to right. I mean you're looking at a guest gregg little or cam irving. They did draft brady christianson. Who like richie. Grant is forty five but was looked great at byu. But i question. Everything is watched now. What i was watching did look good to me. pet health line. You know you can ask our friends up north about that experience. It's just fine. Tuning like in some ways sam coming to carolina from the jets. It's like such a better like an upgrade for him. Like i would say from not who the jets are now but who they were in terms of the skill players in playcalling. But i actually don't think this offensive line. Is that much better than the jets offensive line. I don't know is he going to be able to take advantage of the weapons. He has with off the line. I don't see it like even like paradise. Who's the guy spent a lot of money on two years ago. I think he was. The highest. paid centered free agency that year. He hasn't been he wasn't very good. So now it's not. Just you know. L. fine irving moans. The only one that you can really rely on. And i don't think you can build an offense out of that. I just don't know how you do it and like the running game. Last year i thought brady tried to get a little too creative like it was really scattered at. Lsu is really simple like they ran duo in. I think outside zone. But you watch the panthers. They've got a new run concept of the week every week every game in the running counter. They just didn't have the line to do it. And you could. Just watch the offense lineman they just couldn't execute the blocks so i wonder if he dials at back knowing off line because this offense a line is worse than it was going into last year. Which is crazy. Offense wasn't very good last year. Either so i wonder if he dials at back and maybe that helps the passing game in a way if the play action pass game looks a lot like the run game because it did not last year. I think Brady's gotten a lot of credit for being generally like inventive in improving the offense with limited ceiling. I think bridgewater rightfully got a lot of blame for some of the struggles. But i think phil. Snow deserves to for what he did with the defense because he was given worse pieces to work with or more. Inexperienced pieces. rather You know they're they're still not great. They finished twenty-second in way to dvr. But that's up from twenty six and two thousand nineteen but they're just really really young like an at times. I think they kind of like he. He did a really job with the hand he was dealt. And i think that's interesting because dramatically. This was the zone heaviest defense in the nfl last year. Which made the drafting of jesse horn like a little perplexing right. because he's like a press man corner but i also think like Some of that was because of who he had you know and so i wouldn't be surprised if you see sort of an evolution in this defense as some of these youngsters very young extremely young last year. Get a little bit more experienced system. Yeah i think the jc horn pick was because of their lack of success on third down on first and second down. I thought they were. They were an average defense on first and second down on third down they were the worst defense in the nfl. By success rate. I think they were second. Worst by epa but success rate matters. More as you're trying to get off the field and that they were rushing three three guys in they're playing zone but there was a lot of air in that coverage like they weren't sticking tighter out. I think you have to play man coverage in. Nfl on third down. You can't play big twelve zone. Drop eight three safety defense. Against patrick mahomes so i think that's what that was about and i hope they play more man defense on down because i agree with everything else. You said i think phil snow. He's basically brandon staley but without the talent like the talent Daily had had these guys to work with. That's probably what his defense would look like because he was doing all the stuff we celebrate staley for like us playing the tight front and he's playing threes cutting rosters. It was the the packers game. Where rogers afterwards confused by the front. You remember that. I am i. Am i totally make. Wasn't it after we're like no you aren't. They were gonna rush for something and he was lying all very confusing packages. That.
