It was joined at an online signing ceremony for the bill by Stacey Abrams, the voting rights advocate who pushed for expanded access for voters in Georgia. Gray Wall says more than two dozen officers at the Edna Mahan facility organized into groups and forcibly extracted inmates from their cells last month. These six women were beaten and injured. No one suffered a concussion after being hit 28 times. Another suffered an orbital fracture on her eye. We allege that they deployed pepper spray. The data just isn't there to support that, and we're not going to do that. We're holding and reserve that second dose because we believe we need to go according to what the FBI has said is the Safe and effective way to use these vaccines and ABC News Medical contributor Doctor A locked hotel agrees just giving out one shot instead of two. We're going against what the end points were in the clinical trial, and there are assumptions about how long this immunity could last from just one shot. Restaurant owners fear government assistance will not help their business

"Down any street in New York City brings plenty of sounds. In this most unusual year. It's also brought some previously unseen sites. This street in Manhattan, features one restaurant with plexiglass dividers between tables, a block away. Diners at another restaurant, setting tables on the street in an area blocked off from traffic by a wooden partition. Welcome to the world of restaurants in the age of covert 19, and while diners are having to adjust Restaurant owners people they employ are facing at times existentially threats to their businesses across the river in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, Danny owns Mr Bruno's, a popular Italian restaurant when the virus first started, it was very difficult are Pickup or pick up business or delivery business. It all went down. And then a few weeks later, it actually picked up to where it was before the virus. And then after that, I would say about two months ago. We're probably doing more deliveries and more pickups. But you know, the dining experience isn't there, he says. That's been a lifeline. But how long can a restaurant survive with that business model? I always said that I would lose less money, staying home and closing the doors. But Figured that wasn't a good look. It's basically you know, just not making any money, you know, basically breaking even. We're sitting inside of Mr Bruno's in person. Dining is still prohibited in New Jersey. Earlier in the summer, the state had signaled that restaurants would be able to open at 25% capacity indoors in early July. But just days before indoor dining was set to resume, Governor Phil Murphy announced a change in course as of late August. A new date has not been announced. Danny doesn't think it would come before October. And he says that expanding outside has not been a seamless process, the governor said. We're going to do everything in our power to let you use parking lots and close streets and you know things like that permission was given to expand part of their existing outdoor area. But he said that also did not go off without a hitch. Wouldn't some barricades delivered of there's graffiti on they were filthy. And all for, like, four tables and like, just take him out of here. So Mr Bruno's is moving forward with some outdoor dining and continued take out service. People that order for Mr Know Our food is good. You know, we're not really a pizzeria, where a restaurant So our food is very good. So the people have no that they're ordering good food.

"Governor Phil Murphy support for a $14 billion corporate tax break program. Bill blitz through the Legislature and landed on the governor's desk in a matter of days, But W What my CI's Nancy Solomon reports. The bill is also facing backlash from another group usually aligned with Murphy's agenda. Environmentalists. You're good to go this week alongside a cold, blustery Delaware River Governor Phil Murphy stepped up to a green podium that red 100% clean energy future for years or economy was fed a steady diet. Of polluting fossil fuels refined and stored right here. Murphy was announcing the state would spend $250 million to create a port and manufacturing plant for wind energy that he says will become a supplier for the entire East Coast, but is now from this point where New Jersey and the nation's transformation from an economy reliant. Only upon fossil fuels to one that runs on clean, renewable energy begins. It's the kind of project that environmentalists had hoped for when Murphy replaced Chris Christie, who cut the state's program on wind and solar and left the regional climate change agreement. But environmentalists are frustrated with recent moves from the governor. Just last week, the state approved a liquid natural gas facility a few miles to the north on the Delaware River. Angering opponents of fracking. And the day before the governor's bill announcement on the Delaware, the Legislature rushed through a $14 billion corporate tax break bill in just two days. Eric Benson of Clean Water Action was one of several environmentalists who called on legislators not to pass the bill. We should be fixing, girly drinking water systems and identifying and replacing lead pipes. Instead, this legislation will continue to start New Jersey's budget very much needed revenue. It really is. I think one of the most shameful pieces of legislation I've seen. Jeff Tittel, director of the New Jersey Sierra Club, says the bill will allow the state to give money to developers for projects in the two most environmentally sensitive and protected parts of the state. Pine Linds in South Jersey. And the Highlands in the Northwest is the biggest subsidy bill we've ever seen. And as you know the ability to spend it almost anywhere they try to hide behind, you know, smart growth, but this is really dumb growth because it justifies building almost anywhere in New Jersey. Governor says In spite of the controversy surrounding the tax break bill, there's a lot to like, including for environmentalists. It has support for electric cars, clean energy and the redevelopment of polluted sites. But that might not be enough to win his old friends back. Nancy Solomon w N. "Earlier this week, the governors of the tri-state Area New York New Jersey, and Connecticut announced that visitors arriving from states with surging coronavirus numbers will be asked to self quarantine for fourteen days or face fines. Here's Becky. We welcome Governor Phil Murphy from New Jersey. He's. He's been watching his state open up after four long months and and governor. Thanks for being with us this morning. When you get out there, you really start to see people who were back out in restaurants again going out shopping out of beaches and parks and a just wonder as you watch this. If you worry that, we're going to see a rise in cases, and what numbers you're watching how you're measuring this to decide if we're doing this the right way first of all, it's good to be back with you and we do worry. Which is why we've been taking this in very specific. Phases in terms of reopening. Outdoors is a lot less concerning than indoors. That's not to say there aren't concerns outside, but the the concerns pale in comparison to say inside lacking ventilation sedentary close proximity. That's a bad. Those are bad characteristics for this virus. The things we look at most closely in terms of our guides are rate of transmission. If it's under one that means less than one other person is getting infected if they're in contact with someone who has got the virus. The spot positivity rate, meaning what percentage of folks getting tested are actually positive for covid nineteen, and thirdly as new hospitalizations, those are the three here and now data points. We look at a lot of data, but those are the three that matter the most we have seen things. Get a little out of control in states like Texas. Florida Arizona, even California you're starting to see some real pickups in these things and we spoke with Dr Scott. GOTTLIEB I know you're familiar with Scott and I'm well. He said that contact tracing is not being done very effectively in a state like Texas. They don't know why young people are getting it. These states are really doing. Very good contact tracing where to isolate the source of the spread. They think it's congregate settings where young people gathering because young people are the ones who are getting infected at a higher percentage, and so they've. They've identified the bars. And most of the people, apparently most of the people who are presenting sick, the young people preserving sick have identified that they've been in barbies. Lay or a lot of them when I talked to the physicians, but they don't know for sure qepared. Are you in New Jersey in terms of contact tracing? Try and figure out if there's a spike in cases where it's coming from and what? I can't. I can't speak to the specifics of Texas Scott is a great guy and has been a great adviser Jersey Guy by the way. We have we have since day? One remember none of us at any of this at the beginning, so what if you're looking for a source of comfort, folks or silver lining its testing tracing plans? Ties isolate folks who have the virus. We had none of that as a country or state three or four months ago. We now test him the top couple per capita states in the nation. With the great help of Rutgers, our flagship State University. We're adding meaningfully till the already nine hundred contractors we have. We hope to get up over two thousand within the next couple of weeks. I hope and believe that our approach will be effective. Again our numbers have gotten notwithstanding the loss of over thirteen thousand people. It's hard to believe we've lost that many in New Jersey alone. Our numbers have gotten dramatically better, so we've been able to do the contact tracing up until now at least with local and county tracers. We have nine hundred of them on the field so far so good, but we WANNA. Make sure we've got a capacity that looks like our testing capacity. Just in case and I think we all have to be prepared for this. We hope for the best, but prepare for the worst that this is going to flare up. And we need that tracing infrastructure in place. anecdotally again, it's far more concerning inside than outside. At least a New Jersey I can't speak for Texas. That's where our biggest concerns are governor.

And and and we're going to need to do a nine eleven commission like postmortem on the you know where we were and where we are where we need to be But a lot of the stuff that we're not going to be agreeing. Is outside of the purview of the fact that the house is on fire right now and I need help with the fire brigade. The white hat suggested that some of the and local aid that would becoming they would make potentially contingent on reopening the state. Yeah I haven't I haven't heard that from them privately or or publicly frankly but it it it i. I don't think that's a prudent move because one states reality may be very different from another one. I'll be the happiest guy in America. Nevermind New Jersey when we open. But here's the problem with the state aid we've got expenses which are through the roof. Revenues have fallen off a cliff. And we're helping everybody from you. Lost Your job to your in the hospital to your small business. And you're going up on the rocks. And here's the reality that I. I don't know that folks really think this through right now but in particular for folks who are on the fiscal year that we're on so we're amid calendar year fiscal year in a lot of states are if we don't get state aid in big numbers. We'll have an armageddon in terms of services that we can't provide layoffs that will be widespread nothing We'll bring us no joy. Do any of that but will have no choice. We can't print money. I've got a constitutional requirement to balance the budget right and so the state. The state aid is desperately needed. He calls you up and he says hey fell. I mean going to reopen the really. Get going and you're not at that place where you're comfortable all. What do you do so far? That conversation has been respectful of the realities in New Jersey. It has not been associated with any financial aid coming at us out of Congress or or elsewhere if we're putting lives explicitly at risk. I can't hit the go button. If you're still in your old life and the finance world what. Do you think you would be your sense of what to do now. It'd be I think people look at things like for the Dow Jones going all over the place and are confused by what that means. They don't know whether their 401k's toast and so you're not a medical doctor but you did have some expertise in in the Holiday Inn Express last night. Just listen. I'M NOT GONNA give folks investment advice. I'd say this will be. It'll strike a positive note. And I and I'm not just saying this to be positive. Anybody looks at equities over multi decade periods in other words. You're not trying to buy or sell the make money quote unquote this week or today. But you're looking at what life looks like over a long stretch long period of time And you make that graph as long fused time table as possible You're gonNA find that you were smart to hold equities that's just always the case And I know that's a long term reality. I'm not suggesting I've got a good answer for you. What you do from this week to the next But we are going to get through this. Just don't know when and and so you've got to hope for the best I know this is trite and prepare for the worst. You know when a hurricane as bad as it is at God knows with paid a big price in New Jersey for things like superstorm sandy and other natural disasters but they come they go you go through a rebuilding process. You try to get folks back on their feet. This is more complicated. This is a profound moment in our history as a nation. I mean we just were not ready. You were among other things in your life planets chair the DNC on point. There's this question about the convention and whether it can happen it's already been pushed back from July to August richest living in a fantasy. The that there's going to be a political convention. That's GonNa go together and do that. It's a good question. I it was postponed. Maybe that was a good interim step. I do look at the adjacency so there aren't a lot of things with mass gatherings associated with them in the summer. That have not been postponed. Yeah I mean baseball may be played and I hope it is play. But they've talked about even baseball being played with no fans yeah Harrison down based exactly But things like the Olympics a- or an obvious one golf tournaments tennis tournaments so it does stand out a little bit in the sense that it's still I don't believe either party has The Republicans were already late. August. Is I regret. Yeah so and they say that they are gone ahead as planned the DNC sense and go this August plan. I wonder though we'll sit by the way I hope. The world suggests in the place based on the facts the science data that the that they can go ahead right. So you're in a regional contact now with The governor's the northeast Through into Rhode Island York Connecticut Riot Chits New Jersey Pennsylvania. Delaware Right. There's a midwest one there's is now a Pacific northwest one with California Oregon and Washington State these are Republicans Democrats that are part of the Midwest and the northeast when they're not democratic governors on the on the West Coast. There is it weird that it's twenty twenty and we are divided up into regions like where you guys are synthesized by region what to do with reopening the economy. It may look that way It's it's less weird up close than than you. It may appear in. Let me just say in. Why just two very quick respects number one unless in In Our case admittedly less Rhode Island and Massachusetts although I compare notes regularly with Governor Raimondo Governor Baker But mostly with New York Connecticut Pennsylvania Delaware we actually coordinated not with a formal association as with established for opening up as it were but we coordinated quite closely as we closed down as New Jersey. The dentist state in the country where the densest region in the country so it felt natural therefore it feels natural as well as we think about what we need to do to reopen. We just at basically added a formality around the. Are you scared about where things are heading? This is the new reality for who knows how long I scared is not no. I would not use that word but And by the way let's not forget that this is the United States of America. We are in so many respects. The indispensable We truly are an exceptional nation. And when we seem to be up against it forget how we got up against it. We have time and time and time again Beaten back and and found our way through to victory. Whatever that may mean and I and I'm an optimist At the end of the day for for notwithstanding the toll which is enormous takes your breath away. Multiple Wars added together multiple. Nine eleven's added together so it is daunting But I believe with all my heart we we we get through this one. I can't tell you is when I know we'll have have already had thousands and we'll have more sadly I can't tell you when we at the end of the day quote Unquote Win And and it could be a lot longer than any of us want but we will get through this. We have no choice but to fight and we will fight on period and we'll fight until we win it. Well I think everybody's trying to sort through the confusion. And the sadness and the reasons dropped MS and then you bet and sound governor. Thanks for taking time to keep keep the faith meant always good talking to Isaac. That'll do it for this week. "Hello and welcome the powerhouse politics. I'm ABC News. Chief White House correspondent Jonathan. Karl and I'm ABC News Political Director recline. So Rick. This is an emergency podcast. We of course had our regular podcast yesterday. Talking to Governor Inslee but we have an opportunity of this morning to talk to another Governor right on the front lines and one of the hardest hit states. That's right John and it's an important and interesting day for governor so let's get right to it We're pleased to be joined here on the podcast by the governor of the garden. State the governor of the Great State of New Jersey and Governor Murphy. Welcome to the PODCAST. Sir Rick thanks for having me I want to talk a little bit about the time line from here and the situation in New Jersey but I'm curious because the president is going to convene another one of these calls with the governor's this afternoon with some additional guidance. He's had an interesting take on these calls. You've been on them. I assume you've been on on all of them and he he sort of portrays it. As as trump love fest where a lot of folks are seniors praises and talking about how great the federal government response has been. Is that your impression? Take US inside what these calls actually sound like from a from. A governor's perspective. Yeah I think I've been on all of them They're productive. We don't just rely on those calls to communicate with the White House so we are bilaterally or in small groups constantly in touch with them including the President Vice President And I have to say we've never had a call that wasn't returned so I have to. I have to say that I think the calls are a video call is sort of in a couple of different categories number one. There is a dissemination of information from the White House team beginning with either the president or the vice president or both demand. People like Dr. Barks and and Other that Admiral Jawara the the whole range of folks who will fee Fima team etcetera and then the governors Go around and I would say. Their comments are in two categories. I think pretty simply in every case number one I think there is legitimate. Thanks for the support. You know a specific item. That may have happened. You know in our case whether it's ventilators or PCP or army corps sending up feel medical stations or FEMA helping us with testing and then then the second piece that invariably almost every governor and I can say that this has been the case for me every time out thank you for X Y and Z. And by the way we are we still could use A. B. and C. So I think it's it's pretty factual I have to say and you see a lot of commonality not complete commonality because you get different regions of the country different sides of the aisle. But you do see a lot of overlap it terms of what folks either got or what they need and my guess is that will continue to be the case. To what extent is this? Is this guidance of taking his direction. From where you said it. The president contradicted himself earlier in the week. As you know initially said he's got the full authority to order states to reopen. He's synced back to bit away from that but when you're listening to the call this afternoon. How much does the president get to tell the governor of New Jersey a win and how and if to open things up I actually think? Rick it is a and I believe this c completely. They're sort of three rings of how this is going to happen. The first one in. That's the most important is what we're doing within the four walls in New Jersey on the Chief Executive. I got elected to this position. I gotTa make sure whatever we do whether it's battling the virus as we are now or war gaming for how we what healthcare infrastructure. We're going to need how we're going to responsibly. Reopened it's got a workforce I for US secondly we formed a regional council of Seven States earlier this week. That was really frankly just putting a formal designation around what had been for most of those states an informal reality already. So I'll pick Andrew Cuomo. You Know He. He and I and his teams in my teams have been constantly communicating in particular as we took steps to shut things down. You don't want to have the crazy. Unintended consequence of one set of standards for restaurants in Jersey City. Another one for the lower west side of Manhattan. So the the reopening council only frankly puts a formality a level of informal an intense cooperation that we've already seen and then the third ring. It's inescapable we need to do. All of the above in concert with the indispensable partner which is the federal government. I mean the federal government plays the role that no matter how bigger or strong state or region may be. There's no escaping it so we've got to find common ground with those three rings what we're doing what our region is doing in what we're doing with the federal government so far we've been able to do that by the way We just got hope that that. That level of cooperation continues. I have no reason to believe it won't but that's what we need if you're told there's a date if the federal government mandates a date as the president has been suggesting there would be Does that does that drive an outcome. So far is the regional. Governors are concerned. That mean that you and governor Cuomo and Governor. Lamont are all going to go along with that necessarily I would expect. I'll speak for myself. I would expect that we would but only if the predicates steps are in place in other words only if we believe we have largely Snuffed out community spread of the corona virus in our state that we have a big a big point here that has to be said we have got to have what we have not had as a nation and we may do in New Jersey. I think we have the fourth most number of tests for corona virus of any American state in the three ahead of us are a lot bigger but we must have a broad scale rapid testing regime in place We've got to have contact tracing assets in place And can we had those by June? I I I would. I certainly would hope so but we won't. We can't probably do that by ourselves. We're going to need the federal government as a partner in that so I would say we're all listen. I'll be the happiest guy if not in New Jersey. Maybe in America around the planet if we're able to start getting back on our feet on June one but we've got to have broken the back of the virus we've gotTa have that healthcare infrastructure in place and we've got a plan that both works for us for the region and for the country Governor Murphy Giancarl here. How are you John Welcome? How are you good? One of the big challenges it seems to me for for the New York Metro area from New Jersey Connecticut. New York is the question of mass transit. When when do you realistically think you'll be able to a to basically reopen mass transit? And how do you? How do you figure out how to do that? It's a good question. We actually are still open. Theoretically NJ transit. Both train and bus are functioning. I think they're they're down. Roger Ship somewhere ninety three to ninety five percent and by the way just it just came out this morning. It's it's leader. An Extraordinary Guy. Kevin Corbett is is battling Kobe. Nineteen so we keep him in our prayers. So we've put a pretty significant protocol in place for NJ transit and my guess is that will only be intensified so we've said Fifty percent capacity at best on any car or bus We Nj transit must provide personal protective equipment for its staff Folks have to be wearing face covering to even get on a bus or a train We're we're going to see John. Without question that continue. I don't see any scenario where it doesn't My hope would be would be running more buses and more trains than we are now. Not only as ridership. Dab Capacity is down But we're going to have to stick to those adherence. I by the way we say this whether it's Nj transit a bar a restaurant a warehouse supermarket a Ballgame. We will be in a whatever we define as normal going forward. We'll be different than the normal. We were living three months ago. No question about it. Do you think in terms of major events? He mentioned ballgames. Major Events Concerts The the meadowlands I mean. Are we realistically going to see any of that happening before? We have a vaccine and everybody can take I as a non medical expert. I don't I don't know. I saw the Germans overnight if said no concerts and no no ball games till August thirty first so I'm sure there are a lot of soccer hearts bleeding over there on the former. Us Ambassador to Germany My guess is that there's a period of time here and I just don't know how how much it will last longer. Where we will not be able to congregate I just I just can't see it I do think listen if I think this is. I'll describe what I think is a good order of events and if we could achieve this not just in Jersey but nationally will get to that faster which is raked the back of the Dr Virus. I mean the economic recovery does not happen unless it's on the back of a complete strong healthcare recovery break the back of this thing secondly we have the healthcare infrastructure in place that I mentioned a minute ago. Broadscale testing contact tracing plans to quarantine If need be so that. We don't reignite reignite this thing we then simultaneously with that hopefully you begin to reopen with protocols depending on what we're talking about here but a restaurant. I could see the following. You get your temperature check. Going in. Every server is wearing a mask and gloves. There's a hyper protocol around cleaning services. Fifty percent capacity of most tables have to be X. Feet apart I see sort of a fair amount of that next step the experts and again. I'm not one of them will will say that there is a possibility fall winter for therapeutics. That aren't just used from malaria. Hey let's try it for code. One thousand nine hundred but that actually begin to be available for direct Kovic Nineteen Symptoms and realities. That would be really good and then Tony Fao ci again. He said this to me privately. And I think he's reiterated today a year year and a half from. Now you've got broadscale safe vaccines that's a you know. I think what I've just described is a best case arc of events. I don't know where the you know the. Nfl football game or the big concert Fits into that ARC But my guess is It's to be determined. I I don't think any of us right now can can pick a moment in time and say with any amount of conviction that we are there for this or that but that arc up just described to me feels like one that we if we could do it. That that that's a path to success governor. I noticed a Bloomberg News Story. Just this morning It's reporting that you are floating a bond issue to try to balance the budget obviously billions of dollars in lost revenue. That you didn't his fate in your your budget. I think states across the country or going to cope with the same. Is it just the fact that people in New Jersey and people across the country but specific to your state we're going to have to pay higher taxes T to make up for the lost revenue is that is that really where this has to be headed given the fact that so many states yours included orbi coping with this enormous. Hit Out of your editor revenue. Yeah listen you cannot understate that enormity by the way we're at the front lines whether you've lost your job you're a small business that's gone under or you're in a hospital under care or any number of other roles that we're playing are are we are at the point of attack. Our expenses are going up in our revenues. Have Fallen off a cliff. So the bond that I think you're referring to is merely taking advantage of what the Federal Reserve pronounced last week in terms of their willingness to inject liquidity including by municipal bonds of a tenure of a term of up to two years We're actually I've got a meeting right after this to go over that very point And that's not an idle interest on our part We WanNa make sure that we've got the assets in the liquidity that we need. I'll tell you though guys wear the the big slug needs to come from. I hope it's not on the back of taxpayers. Because we're already a high tax state you get a lot for what you pay for New Jersey. We get the number one public education system in America Location that second and non and all that but it's already a high tax state We need a big slug of direct cash assistance from the feds. So the cares act and I hope we're able to get through the the the the weeds of how the the support is is Is defined in. That will get our share of that. But we're GONNA need a lot more so this is a particular role not only do we need the federal government on things like healthcare infrastructure for testing. We need Congress in the in the administration to come up with a big number direct cash into states and the the National Governor's Association had put a five hundred billion dollar Number for states. I I I don't WanNA speak for my fellow governors. I think our region alone and I'll I'll define that as New Jersey New York Pennsylvania Connecticut. I'll bet you that numbers one hundred fifty billion for our four states alone that to me is where money needs to come from and it needs to come urgently governor Murphy. I want to thank you for joining us by the way My daughter Emily works with a company called Yaks which is Partnering With New Jersey on Your Cova nineteen a website and she wanted me to also very important work but she also wanted me to mention that the twitter feed the New Jersey twitter feed..

"Jersey governor Phil Murphy kept the promise that he made several years ago during his campaign he signed into law a measure that will enable people across New Jersey to legally obtain a driver's license regardless of whether they are in the United States legally and let's be clear we are hardly be revolutionary here rather today is a simple recognition that our immigrant communities that each of you are a vital part of our state of our economy it's an acknowledgement that many immigrant residents already behind the wheel and on our roads going to work in school we're simply going to the grocery store and I'm sure some of you even drove here this morning you have been asking for special treatment you have been asking us to acknowledge reality governor Murphy said he was following the example set by thirteen other states and the district of Columbia both blue and red states the only thing these days have seen is a dramatic increase in the number of licensed and insured drivers and of the number of residents able to contribute to the economy this is what's going to happen in New Jersey as well our roads will be safer in our ranks of uninsured drivers will be lower and that's good for all of us the law creates two categories of drivers licenses and non driver identification cards one is the federally compliant real ID which is only available for documented residents the other is the standard basic driver's license and ID which will be available to all residents of the state regardless of their immigration status they still have to provide six points of identification though that can include a foreign passport any documents and personal information obtained by New Jersey motor vehicle commission will be deemed confidential I'm Steve casting down in sports Dallas quarterback dak Prescott says he will play Sunday against Philadelphia despite a shoulder injury sustained in the previous game against the Los Angeles rams top twenty five men's college hoops on ranked Seton hall dropped number seven ranked Michigan that to use actually Maryland fifty two forty eight nineteen past home prices and the system's tampered with those stories when American morning returns after these messages.

"A hammer holds and you get the potential of picked up two seats at the very least maybe see you put the seventh district were leonard lance is running for reelection maybe that's and play so there's a mad scramble is going on in these competitive democratic primaries and how important is it that a candidate get the endorsements of the county democratic committees in the process flood traditionally it's been very important david in new jersey i think that what we're seeing now is that participation of new voters so perhaps it's it's making it a little more volatile but getting that county endorsements in new jersey means that your name ends up on the ballot we up at the top of the ballot in each share county and that makes a huge difference to who gets elected in new jersey doesn't it it really does the only thing i would say is we're looking at a seemed out of work just based on last year's elections we look at the primary were phil murphy got the nomination of the democratic party his rivals running off the wall and together amassed almost as many votes as he did that the two the two progressives running without any organizational support david got one hundred thousand votes of peace and what that tells you is that there are a new voters coming out who were not necessarily condition the law and sooner jersey's historically been a very machine driven operational stay unlike a place like vermont where you have a lot of independent voters and a lot of independent democrats so the machines of classically been important and they still of course but there's also the potential climb watching this in the democratic primary right now four upsets to occur because of the the energy of new voters were not real wine as much on the party apparatus so new voters potentially not swayed by the the tyranny of the county line who a choice of words very app now according to the most recent campaign filings every republican incumbent in the state was raised by at least one democratic challenger this past quarter but max what does that could mean in november democrats has to raise money for competitive primaries right now don't republicans still have plenty of.

"New jersey one of one point five i'm looking at the picture right now again it is phil murphy who is taking over as governor of new jersey supposed to be a fairly dignified physician and what is he doing he's at some progressive gala last night the new jersey working families alliance and he is posing for pictures with a cardboard cutout lifesize of chris christie in the beach chair absolutely no reason to be doing this and you know this is the guy who said that the days of a leader being a bully or over whom you're not even in office yet and you're taking public photos to mock somebody how twofaced are you fill murphy that's all i feel if you're phil murphy founding you see nothing wrong with this pleats that's what the station is four let us know your side of this i just i can't see any other reason to have done this other than to just be a jerk one eight hundred two eight three one a one point five dennis on the parkway you're on new jersey one open one point five love the show thank you uh i just want to point out two things first of all you don't know the circumstances behind stupid instruments on it but maybe had something to do with uh if they can kind of fund raiser and he raised money back on the church but let well even if it were your goodwill will will will totally let you finish i just wanna say something even if it were still bad still no some somebody who is coming in to take over the governor's seat should know better than to take part in a fundraiser and i don't believe in any way shape or form this was a fundraiser but even if it were still no you don't do that i i agree that it should have done it but i do want to point out jump in very important now tabled return and that's where he would be outgoing governor chris christie was in that position oh especially when it jumped chat there's a fundraiser so i just wanna point out that double standards still santa we'd be mocking him for doing it too but we would hope that the governor's the income governor would be less petty than that it i don't know.

"Prize that is right your chance to win that is coming up will do our need to know things a little bit later on and also after the seven thirty news it's a tuesday so we're going to talk to bury blank from national estate jewelers we are less than a week away from the kickoff of the big 18th anniversary celebration that is happening on december 18th at route eighteen is he out all of lines up that way we'll talk to him coming up on a rather less than friendly exchange between outgoing governor chris christie and incoming governor phil murphy so where there was talk that deliver it they were at odds for a long period of time and that's what happens i think when you take political campaign seriously and personally you shouldn't do that every time governor christie would hear phil murphy talk of it'd be like the cris the administration let us down and they did this and they did that so it was some some friction between the two guys murphy wins the election and we thought that they kind of hugged it out in the kind of talk that out and things are going to be better there was an exchange of a couple of letters recently between the two and you can forget about any sort of a cordial outgoing if you will for chris christie apparently phil murphy very calm and and very professionally contacted the governor and said look a governor christie i was wondering if you could just be a huge favour and it would be if he would refrain from spending extra money or by doing anything that would word worse in the state's finances while he's down was final month in office she could probably imagine what the reaction would be from one chris christie when the incoming governor says a chris i lay off the checkbook will you give that credit card a break because i can't have you putting this state in an even deeper hole for when i take over in january there is nothing more dangerous than an outgoing politician at the end of a term limit and i think that is what we potentially he could experience here in new jersey if there was ever a.
