"Big big looking so he looks like a three year old colt She's a cow bread of george kerkorian and there's His own. Mr big really a really a house Kind of a house horse and you know i. I didn't mention that I should Mark holiday of course Blue devil racing who we know in new york bread Aaa and There's a. there's a sibling a sibling behind that patty. Gallagher has okay. I did not know for it and i'll i'll tell you the That love train. I know that i remember love train. The damn Chris clermont She was she was nice for the good times. Is the three year old filly. She's one for three so far for patty. And there's a there's a named a two year old by hard-spun starship jessica in this family so This this is a fairly. It's funny it's a fairly. Yeah fairly young mayor Eleven year old mayor and she's She's obviously could be productive. And i wonder if if mark if mark holiday might not might not keep a few of these going forward now that John what else do you have to. The last two weeks of the meat got flagstaff on saturday. In the pat o'brien togo. He comes off to a good race and forensic fire in new york very sharp second in this race last year So he'll be there with easy rocket i guess and then we We end up on the last weekend. I think we've got two year olds imports from europe for the two year old colts a two year old fillies going long on the grass. And you know i. We counted up our numbers. We got plenty left rotten Not all states. But we're going to be busy through the end of the south standing john. Congratulations just just delighted for you and for costa the my first My first opportunity to be out here for the summer and we'll look forward to be back for for breeders cup not bad You could get used to this in a hurry. I yeah this is Especially when there's hurricanes and and torrential rains and whatnot back home. We're very boiled with our weather here. So you know. The people realize it's great horse-trading weather cool in the mornings per day. It's good weather to train horses in. So we're it's great for the horses. Take care steve. I go back to get back to the track. John sadler everybody and There's your update on the pacific classic winner and will round out our trip at our coverage of pacific classic weekend with phil d'amato who's who's down on the whos down on the apron here with our crazy system Failed thanks for coming anytime. The let me let me turn. Let me turn is. Let me turn to my materials because The morning has been has been a little a little on the hectic side and We go to we go to the oaks and and going global This irish bred part of a great weekend for flavian pratt and This this this seem very competitive going in right. Yeah you know. I thought it was a legit race. chad brown sent his filly in. Who's a nice philly and You know there was a lot of nice other quality horses in there And you know. I the philly that had beaten us before. Don't carla gains philly. Who finished second so there was a lotta legitimate. Three year Grasp phillies in there. You know every time we talk. It's because it seems it's because you've won another turf Steak and this one is this unusual and including stallion. I can't wait to talk to fernando on. Wednesday meant mama's An irish stallion And i give us a little bit of the back story On this one. Well the the bloodstock agents are nile dalton and michael do Donahue they presented this horse to To michael net wig and they had a good back story on her. She had had been sick in One of her races over there and in ireland and they thought really highly ever and she didn't run well and then she came back and They got right and she broke her maiden very impressively So she was kind of just ripe for the picking and Ever since i got her into the states. I mean she just trained like a really good horse and Just i was looking runner in allowance race. The allowance race didn't go. So i threw her in a stake race right off the bat and she just kinda hasn't looked back since unbelievable and that includes and we. We have talked about her before. Obviously with the kind of record that that she's compiling and other than that san clemente where she was beat by a half length other than that She's she's perfect in north america. yes she she just. Has that wicked turn of foot and if you can get her in the clear She has you know an awfully good chance to to run anything down in and flavian noser so well. She also has some tactical speed. Which kind of helps her. You know put herself in good spots later on in the races. And she just she just. Affiliate thrive is on winning and competitiveness. And and i just think she's gonna steady get better and better on us the you know. She's getting steadily better just. She just seems to run to the wire. Essentially right. she's type. Yeah no she she does she and she. She loves target. I mean any time you get a target. She loves to to run them down and she just got that competitive nature in her and You know i. I think fortunately it sounds like we're going to be able to campaigner through next year and then look to make her a a broodmare prospect so accordingly and spacer races out nicely and and have some fun with her. What do you think about her. And now she's a great one winner so you've got that You know the you got that going for you. Which is nice. And but she's one at a mile and mile to a mile and an eighth. What do you think Her best configuration. You know i think she can. Price stretch out a little bit further. I mean i. We won't know until we find out but she's she's Very tactical yeah and. She's not hard on herself. She doesn't really pull. she can kind of come on. And off the bridle and back on when whenever you you need her. So i i think you know stretching her out steadily I don't think it should hurt her. Any what's your what's your thoughts toward fall. What what where do you go now. You know. I'm not so keen on the breeders cup this year any anytime you get three year old this time of year having to run against older and throwing you know a couple extra furlongs adam. That's a lot to take in. So i think we're just gonna just let her tell us when she's ready but you you've got Queen elizabeth at keeneland. Yep you've got the american oaks at the end of the year both really good racist for three year. Old fillies and and letter develop in.

"Development on this horse tripoli. He is a horse that won at first asking going five and a half which is which is pretty amazing and then and here. He is on the dirt at a mile and a quarter. So it's clear that he's got he's got all kinds of of different aptitude and stretched out immediately and and it took him a few times the clear not even Yeah to clear. The allowance condition took a an extended period where he essentially it was competitive repeatedly but but didn't win and as i as we were standing in the in the winter circle on saturday i was j permanent i and said to john in Bob moving him to the dirt and at what point did you say. This is worth trying. And he's just that he watched him in the spring it because they can't The turf course is closed to the training. They can't breeze at say anthony nita. So he's he. He said the more the more he watched them on the dirt the and the more comfortably looked training. Said about let. Let's try it and He had cleared. It's the funny thing about it. Is he had finally cleared the allowance condition after nine tries so then he said all right. Let's let's put him in this dern allowance going second level and clears it and jumps from high eighty buyers to one hundred and follows it up with that excellent. Try in the san diego and you know this. This was one of those cases where we talked about friday on the handicapping front. Where you just you know you saw horse. That had paired up. You know to excellent dirt efforts. He was going to get the right inside if trip behind. Whatever speed was gonna materialize. And why not. He was going to be a little bit of a price you know. Look everybody described this field as being you know solid if not packed with stars and so now we come out the other side. And now there's a star At at at tripoli. And i just pretty pretty cool story. I think One oh four okay all right so we're going to be you're going to try again case you hear you there we go. There's john sadler. That was crazy. I know casey was getting to know why the little funny. But you've described the the history of how we ended up in their beautifully so You got it just right. Well john th. There's also the matter that you've won this three times in four years. And so you know you. You've got the mile quarter element in your in your mind and the that part of it You know is a is a unique equation. I mean this. This is a horse by pedigree the kitten's joy obviously turf stamina kind of influence and then tap it and you know tap is producing all these belmont winters so there are some stamina from there. But he talk about his overall development Because clearly the timing all of this for a four year old making a fourteen start You got something special to deal with here. Yeah well you know and and you know it's not always the grand design a lot of times you know. We were running them in not winters the grass. And you've kind of doing it because he'd be second in that race you know. He would run good racism. Just wasn't really gotta getting lucky So you've kept them in there in in in this conditions and then after he won the condition You know i said you know. We traded so good on dirt. We're going to give them a try on dirt. It makes twice as many races. You know We could look at and done it actually earlier in the meet with another horse called. Hey woods beach the the same thing. He was forced into cougar. Now he's getting a little break. He transitioned over. So you know. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that in california one surface along time. Either del mar sandinistas so they have. They have time to really get comfortable with the surface and That's what tripoli was doing. One thing i noted that it to me. It was an indication that this was from from word. Go and let's note. This was a four hundred and fifty thousand dollars keeneland. Yearling this was not you know this was a horse that was cut out to be a nice horse but he won turf sprinting. That to me is is is pretty notable. I mean here's a kitten's joy out of a tap it maher that was capable of winning You know go in short like that. Yeah you know he was. He was I race. He didn't know what the hell was going on. So even though we know is distant source for his development. I i want to run back short again and i think you'll run wild and paint a bunch of money that day Pay the big number But it always showed ron and you know he's just developed as we've gone along and you know as far as purchase price you know what i'm caitlyn there. And he was going in the ring. You know you're really have your mind that four fifties number for an eight plus or a b. plus dirt pedigree called you know so i really thought i'd be able to buy him for about two hundred two fifty and i liked them a lot and i just was like Dog with a bone. You know i just couldn't quite let him go and You know afterwards. I was catching myself out. That i- overpaid but if you win stay on the graphs we're going to be good And then look it turned out kind of different unbelievable. And and the fact that the fact that you win this you and costa when this now third time with three different horses a that. That's not an accident while it's it's really it's a it's it's great for her own racing because you see. They allow me to be very patient with their horses. You know there's not a pressure to surround early if anybody wanted to tease tease me about my early. Two year olds which is probably a a short book But what we like to do is develop forces and obviously as they've grown. I've grown you know. We're looking develop twos two to three three fours over to turns Classic distances hopefully derby. You know we were there. This year didn't do well but you know that's what we're looking to do and then If you take good care of the horses is fun to see them develop as older horses. Well he now becomes Major player obviously considering. We're gonna run a mile and a quarter on this racetrack in two months So And we'll get to that portion of the story with you and with With rock your world in a minute. But i do want to fold tiago pereira to this because i. It's been a very difficult summer for him. Comes into the big card with two wins on the meat and you were loyal to him. And this was his only mount of the day and i thought that Absolutely had to be noted that you had every confidence in him and obviously costa as.

Yeah and you know it's a very. I didn't really realize this from breeders cup Three years ago but the the horses are are kind of all over. I mean there's a there's a full-fledged backstretch but around around the the The i turn. There's there's these barns that are essentially you know. Part of more part of the fairgrounds per se than they are. You know barnes for for for housing the the resources. So there's these large one hall where they've they. They fill it up with temporary stalls for the meat. Which i didn't really i didn't really realize so Kind of interesting. I and there was a gate up on the they. "Didn't wanna sit on this villian and wait two months until iran her again to stretch out. That's kind of tough on a developing silly so that that short race came up again on closing day and we just decided that they could shot. She didn't get there. We you know either way we're gonna structure down more and it just worked out. You know she. She broke much sharper and Was in the right spot. And one. And i think i'm going to try or no To turn allowance race at mar but those are the kind of horses in a credit to california. The the new ship in and win program is been great for owners and getting new horses and into california. It's it's pretty lucrative to be able to run in for shipping and win purses at ten anita and then those same horses will have that same opportunity at del. mar i. it's it's just great. And i think it's fueling more out of state horses coming into california. This this a Affiliate that michael that wig And ray piano and do what's see what see why. Bt that is mister rockford. They're all reside in In northern california and They've been good to me. They bought me a bunch of euros. And i i give mr net with all the credit for finding her. He's he's really good at at Finding those kind of diamonds in the rough and overseas and and You know we've had some success this year and and hopefully he's bought a bunch more that will will debut at del mar mary. Nice and Also on on sunday. Another one of the winds That on mars one clear going to mile in at eight the ronchi and This with With joe bravo who's Relocated and joe actually broke through on saturday. I think got his first from our glatt and you put them on some as well and That's silly looks okay. Yeah no she. She's a philly. I just kind of always wanted to win that condition before. I tried her and stake races and she was just one she would be. You know knocking on the door. Second second second. And we've got a nice breakthrough performance the other day I i can't say enough about having. Joe bravo in the jocks room. I think he's he's a much needed. You know a veteran in in in the room there. And i think he's gonna definitely play play a big role and in winning a lot of races at del. Mar he he should be a day where he will be. We will be seeing plenty of joe and that is Susie learns The turn for home and and as soon as he gets a feel for timing A late run on that turf. Course that that's all right. I know dell he he. he's so sharpened. i. I really didn't know other than being a fan of him in in watching him win a lot of races in new jersey and new york and in the fi i finally met him this past leak and and just a really good guy really really sharpen and a pleasure to work with hill If they're looking to celebrate off days You gotta hook him up with a With a charter. Some fishing You've got to introduce them to sufficient people down there in santa he'll be in a good spot that's that he'll have a lot of action there. Mar they do a lot of that over there. And i think you'll enjoy it we. He's as we. He doesn't like my nickname for him. The old man and the sea.

"Excited and these aspects about urban racing and the sales of reflected that this season of our well the demand i it became pretty obvious. I've i've used gary young as the barometer because we were in churchill and he came back from from b. s. april and i said how'd you make out and he said i got shot out. I said you got shut out. He said yeah. He said i was crazy. And then you know we after baltimore. We showed up for for two monia. Spent a couple of afternoons at the breeze. Show terrific Turn out there and wide distribution is as people tried to you know. Get some two year olds into the barn and you know now looking toward tomorrow at at santa anita This this seems like it was a a really good idea and You know there's a bunch of positives. Void i thought occurred to me by doing this Including bringing the horses to the buyers out there this year. We've kinda go. We've it's been interesting. We've moved to was resumes. Auctions in california The first two year old said we conducted was in two thousand and nineteen When there was lots of activities that were occurring Around the racetrack. they're saying anita none of which were favorable to the to the racing environment that down and then two thousand and twenty we had the pandemic and literally were unable to conduct the sale. Because of the restrictions advice californian and so this is kind of the first year that was kind of been a quote unquote normal environment You know certainly. We'd like to have more horses. I don't think there's any question about that But.

"She's been lately. She's been coming from off the pace kind of closing sprinter type and I i think she'll be mid pack in here and got some some late run so That goes rocket for me to get at least share. That's that's an interesting talent. And then you're gonna get a big price there because you've got the makers and you've got brad cox in here. And he's got you know. Mac roberts got horse as well. So i guess you might get double-digit as even on bekker's rocket which would be nice way to start this Pick four in the stakes sequence exiting on wednesday night. But i i. i'm not sure where i land. I pretty in pink kim. If the turf plays the way it has been and it's all speed. I think pretty in pink has a chance to steal it and that one's going to be fifteen two one in the morning line Guy decapa lucia's done really well canterbury. This is chris. Season here Louis four days of the younger brother. Ruben rights yeah that that's it's a stab with pretty in pink and i i. I know that she's entered tonight. I assume she will scratch tonight to run tomorrow but That might be a price play for me to get the night. Start at just to see what happens. It's well and You mentioned pretty in pink. Amalfi princess Saranyou you've about Pretty much the principles Yeah those are the horses are gonna take the money. And i are both looking for a for a little bit of a number here. I like that. And you got heart. Full of soul the mac robertson also horse that ran the same night as gordon hammered down at prairie meadows and. Didn't show up at all that data in that in that sprint. So we got her going on and on the turf for the first time. And that's you know that's it's got some talent so this is a this is a deep field. I'm just. I'm not ready to give surani but i everyone everywhere you turn your people say surrounding is the winner and that may be the case. We might get brad taxes. I win at canterbury part with that with that philly but again this this whole car. Top to bottom is extremely deep. And i. i think it's going to provide a lot of opportunity for horse players. You mentioned the pick for the the stakes pick for starts with that third with the oaks the darkstar thee stallion auction. Where you seemingly can kind of tiptoe through and the lady canterbury and the lady canterbury In addition to being the anchor leg of that pick four. It's the start of the ten percent pick five which includes That is the start the mile the derby and then two very solid allowances. We got some nice well-matched fields As well ninth. And the tenth. If you're everybody's gonna stay for a late night and Jeff what kind of a crowd you. You're going to you'll hit. You'll hit five figures tomorrow night. I i hope so. It's so hard to say on a wednesday night with the weather's gonna beautiful and now that you know that schools it's such a seasonal thing here at canterbury with school and different things. But i think we'll have a nice crowd i know have Excellent simulcasts candle. It's really weeknights. And it worked last last year right during the pandemic when we kinda aggregate it or all of our sticks races on wednesday nights for doing the same thing this year and it's It's worked in the the racing public. The betting public embraced it. So i think we're gonna see huge pools and beautiful night racing and we'll be you know we're on america's day at the races. Nfs to right took featured there. so i think really get a lot of exposure. That's good we and it you know i. I just want to say this worked last year when we ran weeknights for the first time because we were concerned this year running. Sunday's what might happen because we've always been buried but our handles been really really strong on on sundays so far so i think.

"Grandstand. Right i mean rubinsohn in the iron. Then we'll see what happens with the gates pop but that's that's her instructions just today take the lead and make them be if you beat you get beat but so i if we can believe that to be true i i agree with you. That bodenheimer is going to set for actions. That might be too much for some of these other need to lead or orderly place tortoises. And we'll just see if he hangs around but it's a big tall task but this is a race that she's been aiming for all summer for all spring She tried that. Pray meadows race. I think because the horse had success last year in that Prairie gold juvenile which was six furlongs drink at prairie meadows as well and maybe had nowhere else to run in but the horse was certainly disappointing. Never never seemed to take to that what they call the money track. That looked more towards good or fast but just never really seemed to run well in there and You know i. I have to think that we'll see something. Borden heimer whether he sticks around at the end. I don't know but i think he's going to set the pace well and i've just i just pulled up time form. Us to i wa. I was curious to juxtapose the third graph Pay scenario with with With time for him. And they're calling for a fast pace with bodenheimer clearing a pretty easily actually They've got They've got ravelli King of miami and Jareth love being prominent early as well. kind of as a as tracking speed Maybe to prompt Interesting i the this is a fun race and I suppose you know we haven't even mentioning his involvement i really. Td dances presents coming out of the out of the murphy at pimlico and really tracking in with a pair of wins For brad cox and and south humid. This is bad. A kit and partners wonder stable and more The can the man colt five two and floors. you're ru in town and one of the other themes jeff as he look around this field and and really the whole card. He got quite a few horses that are going to get on the grass. And you have to make you know you have to make some evaluation or some decisions about some horses that are that are moving over And are going to try in the dirt in this spot. Let's talk about the mystic lake mile which comes ahead and parlor shows up here for maker and Got his seasonal debut the seven year. Old lonrho gelding. He got his seasonal debut in as a prep for this that came at churchill In the douglas. Park and You figure he'll be tighter for this spot. Yeah i had a hard time figuring out. And i know there's some handicappers that i respect that. Have part of it on top and for some reason don't And i probably will regret that because it is mike maker was santana. But i just i. I can't seem to get my arms around this horse. He he wins but he you know seven year old. Who's who's won. One time in his last ten starts he just sorta seems to hang around and hit the board and to me it. Short price Somewhere else but i think if you're playing exotics pilot gotta be in the mix but i think there's some some other opportunities in this race and i know you've got haradim for brad cox on the outside you've got tut's revenge won this race last year. Who's got a lot of speed And i think pets revenge is going to have something to say about this too so this is a another thing really intriguing race. Well i mentioned ravelli coming in from chicago. How about our friend. Michelle voice and she shows up with a summer. Front gelding that Won the mystic lake. Derby last year and So you know looking for somebody that that is familiar and has done well On the course. You've also got giant payday showing apu's may you know may canterbury basically his home. The last couple of years for joel burnt. Who you know is one of the one of the one of the team members of team in bach or with the in wilkes and and With neil person. And i think chris block to as well Giant the giant actually won the mysticlake derby Twenty seventeen when he in wilkes training. I meant yeah. You're right the Gulf combat stable colors are prominent canterbury giants. ratings enough. he's gonna he's gonna get a trip. joel was not thrilled about coming off the turf last time out in the brooks fields and he ran the horse because the track was was sloppy and he thought he would take to it Had had been tighter. He probably what he told me. You wouldn't have runs. We gotta prep and not the ideal prep but giant payday. Another one with dean butler You know i. I think we're going to get a price ten to one in the morning. Lampert should sit the trip by ninety eight. The nine i think. And maybe have i. Well i'm glad you mention the nine hieronymus This again drawn wide and it is kind of a one dimensional type his his wins. And he's four for eight for brad cox. This is the alarm. oh for godolphin and Last seen in prep that came off the turf At canterbury and he's a horse that absolutely needs the lead to win and he's to be confronted. I mean there's there's that touch revenge inside for clinton's stewart There's you mentioned parlor course There might might see some speed from right. See some some other. You know prompting types i- somersault that from michelle. The the just mentioned michelle voice. Got a little bit of Got a little bit of speed as well so Randomest four to one. He's going to have to wire this field to win chaffey i. I don't see how he wins. This otherwise yeah. I agree with you. I was a little bit surprised to see that they. They brought him back. After that brooksfield fields effort that was on the dirt came off return from atlanta the slot. Back i guess why not. You know taxes bringing horses in so why not but i i agree with you. I don't think the trip is going to be there but you get your own But i think he might get that down a little bit too off from that florida one just because of the connections and the speed at least the buyer speakers are as good or better than anyone in the field so i think this opens up for some other some of the crisis even the minnesota brett single star john on the rail. I think there's only one way to go with this horse. Quinonez who's Allows point owners are leading rider canterbury. I think he's going to have to send in at least be prominent from their gets buried. So i think the pace might be hot. And maybe i'm looking the wrong direction with taps revenge but I know the horses gritty and and is gonna show show a little bit better effort than it has the last time slot but this is a race that if you're playing that pick side what's a ten percent takeout calm. You might have to go deep here even You know. I don't know what to do. I'm looking at chris. Rashard with that expo gelding and he tried him on the or i don't even think he did One of his prior what of his prior outfits. He's an ox bow out of a broken vow. Maher he's going to be a price I lord dragon is who were talking about and style wise if if he if he takes the grass at all. Jeff he's a little He's a little intriguing. That's reuben fuentes riding look dragon and clinton won for. I think seventeen thousand lasts a couple of races back and try to steal so that sloppy track. We've got a lot of horses exiting the brooks field so that was a roughly run race in the stretch with a lot of bumping and drag prevail. But you're right. this is another one. If you think is.

I left the program into into chuck simon and and You know he had a nice thriving stable at at the time and and I got a great education there. Well and then the years with With mike mitchell and after after mike's passing On your own and doing tremendous this string of of the turf stakes and of course Know in addition to say the word who you know as as what a six year old gelding he he. He can just kind of Plug along. but you've also got county gin and we should probably talk about mentioned gavi talk about mark martinez and and you know the the concept of getting these horses and making this deal with samsung. That's typical mark. He you know when he he sets his sights at something He gets it you know. And he'd been looking at these horses. "Fine-tuned it has been very successful at it for the for the last couple of years. Well and you also you've also been very much in tune with condition books around the country and you've you know you've been very successful you know sort of poaching spots and picking spots out and in going out of town and it's i mean it's now it's a streak I think it's fair to say. Yeah we. We've had a really good year doing that. And it's it's trial and error and just like anything in learning. You know what spot to make the most sense for for your horses. And we've been doing it for for quite a while here and just crate team behind you. And you need that to to be successful. Well we talked and had a lot of fun right when right when the deal came down and You know the you know the samsun horses and what is you know what is sad for the industry at large when it comes to an operation you know like samsung winding down. But what what's become a wonderful opportunity for gava and and for you and you know here's say. The word who is is an accomplished worse at age sex this performance. I thought saturday you know he to me was the worst. Defeat the me talk about picking out the corn and sending say the word you know he'd just come out of his previous race so good and I was just looking for spots to run them in. There really wasn't anything that fit his Distance profile except for the l. corn and He had a nice record at keeneland and it was just a good spot to take he he. He travels really well that horse. So i didn't think the the plane right to to kentucky would be a big deal and you just acclimated nicely and ran. A great race is how many how many and this. This is something we talked about. I think last year to you had you had that incursion that string that between oak lawn and and kentucky how many right now at any one time the have out of town. I've got about a dozen now floating around between Arkansas and kentucky. Probably by the end of the month will be have everything in kentucky and we'll have try to maintain that kentucky california string Urine out how much not go far afield but how how difficult is it to keep track of and to manage this fell. I mean in. In some cases i brought this up last week. And it's kind of a different context but you know there's there's there's so many different challenges to running a stable as a business. I mean the. There's the clients there's the staff there's The paperwork and and everything else in the overhead You know there's so many things that make it a challenge but then when you you know when you've got people working for you far afield and having to make some either decisions or you know having a level of trust in the people that you have in those spots. How much of an added challenges it you know. It's it's always a a logistical challenge. But again when you have people that have worked for you for a long time. No your system know what you you like to do in certain situations. It makes it a lot easier. And that's what i have. I've got that in josh. Flora's who's.

"Somebody of copies books he sent you. Because i couldn't find it. I i agree it would be. I wish that the iraq would release it. I don't know if they don't have that armour to camp. But they find a way. Because i'm not saying the problem is the markets probably not enough to make it worth it but there is a market because there are people. Contact me about finding it but you know it's too bad. It's a great book. I agree exotic betting a really great book. That was a good line. You've got a pipeline long margin of said that the the set it but we should let people know what it is that don't know what do they can figure it out you know. The joke is only they've been funny break is not yes. And you're the one you're the one who years ago told me. Don't worry about the audience. The the ones that get it will get it and the ones that don't exactly i think talking about who's supposed to be on that well either filled d'amato or read mandela. Well winds all of aim was pretty damn good. So why don't you get them on and get was great. I appreciate your stepping in on monday again and We will We will look forward to next week. In as andy is mentioned He'll do he'll do derby oaks of do derby oaks video. I'm gonna do the next wednesday morning. I'm gonna. i'm leaving birthday. But i'm gonna. I gotta go to belmont on tuesday and wednesday You know it's going to be a very busy week for me. So i'm. I'm not confident that i'll be able to come on all right all right. All right we'll Out thursday all right to leaving town so like two o'clock on thursday so maybe thirsty. Okay sorry for maybe never made here and you'll be fine without me. I would work for sure it would. We'll do our best. Those important trainers on i do. I don't do a lot of trainer. Pre stuff richmond l. o. There you go all right thanks. That was great anti selling. Everybody and he wouldn't take a bow but he went. I think yesterday or saturday. He wants seven out of nine. Seven on top winners. Which and this. He's i don't know why. Why in the end. He doesn't need to be defended his you know. His approach is so unique and so invaluable to the long-term understanding of the game and success with that's That's all that need. Be need be set but i did want to. I did want to give them proper. Give them a chance. That deflect attention away we're going to work will reach out to fill actually. I'm just realizing. I think i gave him the right. I think i'm i think i botched the timing so hopefully fills i 'cause i wanna talk to him about what has become. It's kind of a funny situation. Is winning all these steaks with with turf horses and i don't think anybody goes in any one direction by design. Look at jeff. Mullets mullins had a similar as has had a similar thing. Where you you never. I don't know fifteen years ago. Would you have thought of jeff. Mullins is a turf trainer. But then you know most recently in the last five or six years it seems that his best horses and is big you know. His stake successes have been with horses. And so here's phil d'amato to answer this important question fell how do you how do you become a turf training. You have a lot of owners with a budget with a one zero on it. And it's just much more affordable to buy grass horses than it is the big dirk course. But we've we've honed in on that in.

"Know. We'll we'll see how that works. But i i like the idea of a carryover back you know used to be carry over as discussion. You know my late grandmother. She always knew. There was a carry-over next day. We're both days and she sake carry over tomorrow. Belmont worse in the carryovers and that really changed and i'd like to see we all carry overs. Come back you know way. We occasionally i would pick five. 'cause jackpot carryovers not carryovers. There arise you know there. There are dishonest some character. In my opinion i listen. It's a. it's a long complicated conversation about a lot of things but i. I'm very glad that we've gotten away from well. And the one dollar. The dollar increment Is is going to really works in in this current you know in this current environment I think it does it it. It's you know 'cause the two dollar. The dollar was hard. Because if you're of a certain a certain budget constraint it really made it made it difficult to get the kind of coverage you needed eddie. I'll tell you one thing about this. That people that. I think people are going to need some some guidance and some hand holding and that is the people that have been playing twenty cent increment have gotten used to just throwing in horses. Willy nilly because it's not expensive per se and they're gonna have to really relearn the tickets structure because you you won't be able you. Maybe this is the opportunity for people to try to use. "Because he he allowed her in that spot once. Once i read had bad worse in that spot. He owned her simple as that he her but the other day maybe if she had more horse it could have been different hitting the worse. And i think you know the difference between swiss diver. Bottomley girl seismic bottom to type champion. She's done way girl. She's never going to be confused. The fastest billionaire mayor of all time. But she never shows up without a big apper ever. She's out lost three races. What by q. Illegitimate d tube. But maybe that's rab and won by a neck and by those she's never not running a effort and that's a real rarity among the top horses whereas skydiver i would say you looked skydivers best races. They're actually better than the best rates monoply girl but she's had a rate here there where she hasn't rubbed that well and that's the knock on her. Now you know big skydiver fan and such but way girl says up aside. I've had a few days off. Kind of knock. Our is who she is. She's also had credible campaign running every possible spot. She could arrive then some that nobody would have brought in and she's been successful much more often than not so i. There was an incredibly horse. And i'm sorry she didn't run race on saturday. But that's the way it goes. Manuel girl she always runs bar. And i think the idea the jackson she wore another take people. Did anybody thinks she lost. Aiding defeat is just wrong. In my opinion he just happened to lose by those. And that's you know it were frac- with horses used to raise more frequently. There were more rivalries. Forsa showed up. They want racist. Nobody ever criticized for losing. You know they were glad. They competed and they have another day and and you know what. Let's hope that bottom girls was diver with rooster. Get more of the just the breeders cup gatling hoping to fix the personal ensign racist like that. We see these horses. Meet up getting the chance and show to aside. I've read a bad day and maybe a good day. She can be some. Maybe not you know but let's find out but stop basing championships are day one race. Let's get back to running against each other not finding convenient excuses to to pass on racism. Skip these these things and not stop winning and losing you know and more worried about the competition. Winning is every. I completely agree. And and you know you've made that case in that and that point repeatedly to help people try to understand you know the the totality of careers. And what you know what. The essence of a racehorse career is supposed to be and and it's not the be undefeated. You don't set out to go undefeated that that that does because starting out. What can i do to keep it. Undefeated get outta here rather we open the back and you lose a lot you win. Sometimes you know it's hip away will weigh four-goal anybody think when those three at the wire together there was a loser in the ray will. Those were three incredible performance. You know young people criticize Winning colors losing by a nose. Personal ensign now. They complimented reader. Stop and that's show up. But the breeders cup created an easy out for people you know. Maybe i'd wait in the rear stuff too much Because they create raises the pe- the owners connections whether owners trainers that are constantly dodging. One another you know. Jimmy Phil D'Amato Addresses 'The Hill Course'

"The circumstances around the hill course obviously kind of dominate any discussion when we when we get to this and and you know we kind of knew mid year that there was going to be a question about the Breeders Cup and how they were going to handle it and then decision came that there wasn't GonNa be any any races down the hill. What was your feeling? I don't think I've discussed this with you. You know I mean we're we're all on the same page here in California want to do what's Best S. for horse racing and our horses and and you know make this game continue to grow and flourish and and you know that was what was going to happen. We'd have to suspend racing down the hill for for some time and you know just make sure you know everything's going right and and I got a really say hats five to Santa Anita because they did change things up a little bit so they've got five and now five and a half for a long races and and I think they're even gonNA explore more or further races out of a shoot on six six and a half on the flat and then maybe even hopefully at the beginning beginning of next year. Try the the hill again but it's kind of the times we're in and you know everyone realized bitten and we're all kind of on board.
