Teen Shot by Maryland State Trooper

"Washington post today filled with all of the abominations. Of the Democrat Party posing as journalism masquerading as journalism. And I got to the last page of the local news section. The Metro section the B section. If you go to the last page below the weather, and I'm not kidding, it's below the weather. Seen fatally shot by state trooper Now this is yesterday in the Washington metropolitan area, which is the You know, the rectal aperture of the news universe I think and a teenager with a replica gun was fatally shot Tuesday in a confrontation with the Maryland state trooper. State police said. The youth, identified by police as Peyton Ham, 16 years old, was shot in the Leonardtown area of ST Mary's County Police said he lived near where the incident occurred. Place that the teenager confronted a trooper with what turned out to be an air soft gun. A toy gun A, which shoots nonmetallic pellets, The Washington Post says the other non metallic because they're foam their little yellow foam balls and therefore should not your brother across the dinner table. Police said it resembled a real gun sound like Tamir Rice when to the riots begin, state police said The trooper was sent to the scene after two calls reported a male who was acting suspiciously and apparently had a gun. That's exactly what happened in the Tamir Rice case, precisely and exactly Police said A witness told them that ham the 16 year old took a shooting stance in quotation marks and was pointing his gun at the trooper before the trooper fight exactly like to memorize. Now. Here's the very important sense that this is the only sentence that matters. The Trooper and ham are both white Police said There was no indication that hands gun was not a real weapon, see how the standard has changed. Now there has to be proof that it's not a real weapon. That's the opposite of the standard that it was applied before after being wounded, and I've got to say I find this part to be a bit difficult to believe. After being wounded him. 16 year old boy with an air soft gun produced a knife, Uh, witness recounted because he's like Rambo on a suicide mission with an air soft gun and after he shot his air, soft gun laying next time he pulled out a white knife because he's with al Qaida is something I got a little trouble believing that part Ham died at the hospital, so

Ham trina this is kind of cool stuff. Yeah it is it It changes just knowing a very conservative area. Yeah just just legalized medical marijuana. But they're paying really slow on the uptake of everything. So it's kinda interesting to see how it's working in other states right now. Payton was that so in western oklahoma. Was there a lot of pushback. Did you see from just the Just the consumers out there. The the landowner's property owners were just general consumers people population. I guess in western oklahoma. Did you see a lot of pushback when they first started passing this legislation and no actually it. It took some time. I would say it took a year. Eighteen months before people actually started realizing kind of what was happening. I had started about two years ago. with a buyer that had called me specifically about a listing. I had and he asked me several very specific questions like i was saying. Does it have three phase electric Have you tested the water for iron. Asking me very different questions than i had ever been asked about a property and i wasn't necessarily prepared and i basically said i i don't know but i will find out all of these things for you and i. It took a little bit of research. And i finally discovered what he was doing. I discovered why he would be asking those questions. And and then it just kind of snowballed from there with me. Being able to help him. Purchase a property and start his business and then in the rumor mill started. Is it true that you sold so. And so's property for x. Amount well once it closed dayak verify or you know tell them yes or no type situation. And then it just kind of snowballed and they would say well my neighbor down the road they want sell. They would like to get crisis like what he got. And then it just kept going and going so it's funny that Sometimes that price tag money will Maybe alter people's belief system it wait. We're making money on this homeland. Hold on. I thought i was against. Yeah maybe yes. Maybe i am partially for it and how much money. Yeah yes yes. It has been very interesting. Got a chart in front of me right now on the monitor in it. So here's some differences between hemp and marijuana. And i think i asked you this question earlier. Are we talking about him. Hemp farms and you. You would respond to that. No this is these these licenses for marijuana and and i think more particularly medical marijuana has to be medical marijuana at this point in the state of oklahoma correct and some of the differences. I see and these are side beside if you can envision it Him it says grows up to four meters tall where marijuana grows two meters tall. Now keep in mind. We're talking about two different plants. So the hemp plan at least the illustration they have a pair has one two three four five six seven leaves on it and the marijuana plant has three six seven eight nine. Ten is every three four five six seven eight nine nine leaves on it account. That right yeah. Let's get bigger monitor. We're looking at a big screen. Tv and we're both squinting at how many leaves are on the it says hemp gross and and it's currently growing in many countries around the world however marijuana is still illegal in most countries around the world. And i think what that's illustrating is out. They have been growing him Very similar plant lower. Thc content but they've been growing that plant for A lot of different products clothing Body care Ropes you hear about hemp robes or fabrics. Yeah so it's it has a purpose and it's been used for many many years Medical marijuana is still fairly new. The united states and it's Any any content on like what what the treatments like some of the things that they're using medical marijuana four peyton and so ultimately. I have heard that you can use medical marijuana for depression for pain and You know a lot of different things could be prescribed and it could be taken different ways. You could put it in a gummy. Apparently you can do it In different and they can basically blend it in different ways and then if you have a medical marijuana card you can then consume it for what your needs might be save made. They've made it in edible sean or you can still smoke like yeah traditional as i mean i will say i will say this i. I've had trouble sleeping before. And there's a guy that i work with and he said. Hey these cbd gummy he said they all. If you take one of these before you chewed up for you go to sleep. It'll just it'll help kinda just relaxing kind of clear your mind a little bit. I slept like baby. I took one of those. And i slept. It's been a long time since. I literally like a little kid. Just slobber on my pillow but if you wake up and your pillow stuck to your head that's a good night's sleep. You're doing it right at that point. So it's it's not all bad. No no. I've heard a lot of people get a lot of relief from pain from it and other things so I think a lot of like you said it's controversial. It's kind of a half and half. Some people might not need it and they don't understand why someone would and some people are very grateful for it so peyton to your understanding is so if you're taking this as And not smoking it. Because i think a lot of times smoking it becomes the the act of smoking itself becomes addictive not always just the nicotine in a cigarette or but just having to have something in your hand or in your mouth and so if you're let's say you're taking it in pill form or and gumy form is it addictive is marijuana addictive in that form if you're using it for pain relief that's a great question. I'd have to ask the doctor for mine to answer that for you. I know i know how to sell them a.

"Activity out here very cool cool. So is this Let's talk a little bit about just the cultural change this taken place out there because i'm again. I'm from western. Oklahoma and much like some of the other similar states like kansas. They tend to be fairly rigid in their thinking about conservative. That's a great word trainer. that's very appropriate. What what is appropriate. And what's not appropriate. How will is that. Ben received in Which county are you in again. Are you in beckham beckham. yes. But i serve all of western oklahoma's so washer talk county and and you know all around but ultimately we're seeing kind of a fifty fifty Back and forth on how people feel about this. I think that there's been all kinds of conspiracy theories about. Is this all they're doing out here and that's been very interesting Kind of conquering those those battles with people and ultimately When people talk to me about it. I say we'll when the state made it legal. They're not necessarily doing anything illegal. Therefore when someone comes to me wanting to purchase a property you know. I sell it to them as you should. Yeah yeah really so it's just I think a lot of people that have properties that might cater to their needs are definitely up for it because they are paying some premium prices So that has drastically Changed our market out here I think some people like it because it has even if they're down the road it's it's raised their property values which they like and then on the flip side. A lot of people are curious to know what this is going to look like in ten years if they're going to continue to do this if it's going to be a kind of a spurt and then some are gonna fall off. And how's that gonna play out. It's going to be an interesting ride. So what what entails like. What kind of properties are suitable for a marijuana firm. That's a great question so we learned and as we have done this. And we've we've had a lot of a learning curve. So i have learned just through all the different properties that we've tried to do that outside. The city limits obviously with what's called three phase electric and Water is key We've also learned that our electrical companies out here weren't necessarily prepared for this and so we are seeing zones that have been basically Blacked out at this point. They can't be expanded and no more electric could be drawn from those lines. We are seeing We're seeing all kinds of different things that ultimately it depends on the type of business that's wanting to come in. We say you know. A lot of the growers are wanting to indoor grow. So they are looking for large shops or properties that they can build large shops on. Gotcha so more like warehousing or what you might think greenhouse situation and just like a cry of field of of. It's been a different thing. Because they don't necessarily want commercial building. They would love a residential location. They would like a home on the premises so they can live there and work there I don't necessarily know all of the omen may regulations which is the oklahoma medical marijuana authority that there are some rules about who has to be on premises while there is growing and security purposes and things like that and so i think that the residential properties out here are being scooped up very quickly so i'm reading while you and trina were visiting. I'm i'm looking at one of the things that and this is big. By the way. I found an article. I i read before the show this morning. It says by the end of twenty twenty. Four that the global cannabis and cbd food market is set to be worth six point six billion dollars so this is not a small Emerging market or small venture. This is a very. It has the potential to be a very very large industry in a very short time. Yes yes we're seeing that the state and local sales taxes that the industry is bringing in I put some numbers from the oklahoma medical marijuana authority website and as of march fits twenty twenty one they are stating that the state and local sales taxes that were brought in in two thousand nineteen were a little over thirty million and twenty twenty. They were a little over. Seventy one million in twenty twenty one to be over eighty million. Oh my gosh. Oh that's just the sales tax state and local that have been brought in from these industries in the state of oklahoma As of march twenty four we had seven thousand. Two hundred forty active growers licenses have been issued in the state of oklahoma. Say that one more time. So the seven thousand two hundred and forty active licenses according to him as website out of march twenty four oh ama stands for the oklahoma marijuana medical marijuana authority yes oklahoma medical marijuana authority May i visit that site very frequently. So some of the listeners may be thinking right now. Well i've heard of him in on. I've heard of marijuana and we'll I wanna talk when we come back from the commercials here in a minute. I want to talk more about the differences between those two in a nutshell him is raised as a plant. So t h c. I guess is the content. It's the element of this plant. Where the by product of it. That is the stimulant that causes the the weird psychological effects in people whenever they partake in marijuana him however is very similar. Plan along the same strain but does not contain that. Thc content and i was just reading In this article it says. Legally hemp is defined as cannabis as a cannabis plant that contains zero point three percent or less. Thc content while marijuana is a cannabis plant that contains more than zero point three percent so as we come back from And i've got a great chart i found. I want to run some of this by you but We'll hear from our sponsors will come back and talk about the differences between hamp and marijuana and i wanna talk to you more about just what you're seeing in this in this strong emerging market Out there right now.
