"The time to read all four hundred pages of the report right now. Online eighty six percent say no does that surprise you. Does not surprise me are Americans thirsty for what Robert Muller has to say about this president collusion. Obstruction of Justice. Are they thirsty for all the details? You think I'm not sure that they are. I think that most people have already decided what they think about this. And it really is predicated upon their, you know, prior opinion with respect to Trump people that are Trump fans or people who aren't Trump fans, but are not don't want a democrat to be elected president. I think have been a discount much of this stuff. You know, one of the things that we started to talk a little bit about volume to which the obstruction of Justice part of it. And they open question. Right. And in some of it is embarrassing. It it again, I'm just skimming through it. But it looks like there are instances where you know. The president has been involved was involved in making misleading or false statements to the public at least. And the the question is how voters react to that. My own view is that I think voters pretty much assume the politicians lie, and so when they find out that one has it's like, yeah. Right in my dog barked this morning when the when the mailman came, and so I don't think it's going to move a lot of people unless there's something in there that I haven't seen or I didn't hear mentioned on the radio as I drove down as you know, journalists are frantically reading through this thing that is is unusual or something that we would not have expected. I'm doing like you're doing I'm kind of skimming a couple of conclusions that some folks have have reached that Muller wasn't able to conclude that no criminal conduct occurred. So he couldn't make that that final decision. That definitely relates obstruction of Justice. The other thing is the big question is why didn't Robert Muller subpoenaed. Donald Trump use president. He had information. I think he wanted to. Why didn't he? Well, he wasn't happy. See with the what he did was he set written questions to Trump lawyers? Call them interrogatory, and he found the answers unhelpful. I've been practicing law for a longer than I want to admit I have never sent an interrogatory to anybody in litigation and thought that the answer was particularly helpful unless it asks for stuff that is so objective in Sovan that you know, it there really isn't any way to slant it one way or another. So it's not surprising to me. He didn't like the written answers. I think he didn't want to subpoena Trump because he thought that that this would involve major litigation that the White House would resist it much like happened during the Clinton investigation and probably at the end of the day decided that there's not that much that I'm gonna find out about it that I don't know already because one of the interesting things about this is when it comes to the thing. That might constitute obstruction of Justice in there about ten of them a lot of that stuff happened in public view. And there really isn't any. Question about what actually happened? The real question is does that constitute criminal obstruction of Justice or a question that you know, is is for congress. Does it constitute something that involves an impeachable offense, which is not the same thing or the question for the public is this something that would cause us to? Not want to vote for the president. Rick Berg joining me in studio. He's the president of Wisconsin institute for law and liberty. So I guess for me the question is that this become less a criminal argument, or legal argument and become a political one. Is that where do you think this where this is going to go? Yeah, I think it is. So they're one of the things that. It looks like happened here is there was a there's a legal question here regarding the extent to which. The president could ever obstruct Justice by doing something that is within his authority to do the attorney general of believes I think that that can't constitute if the president has the authority to do it can't constitute obstruction of Justice or only rarely can constitute obstruction of Justice skimming through what? Mueller wrote? Nick concluded that the president could do that it is possible for the president to obstruct Justice if the president acts with corrupt intent which is in the word in the statute, they believed that is within Congress's power to limit the president's exercise of the his presidential authority in order to protect the administration of Justice, but corrupt intent is very very difficult to prove think of it this way, if you're the president of the United States in you think you didn't do anything wrong. And you think that the? The federal government which you can be executive branch, which you control the department of Justice, which you control you appoint the attorney general you appoint the directive FBI is being used to conduct a political vendetta against you. Wouldn't you want to stop that you might legitimately conclude that this is a waste of government resources that that this is not something that should be going on? So the question is what was it in? This case Mueller did point out that there was no underlying crime here. There was no crime to cover up. And when there is no crime to cover up. It becomes not not impossible to prove corrupt intent, but it becomes more difficult to do that because because it becomes harder to infer that the person was acting to obstruct investigation into him when you didn't commit a crime could happen, but but it's harder to prove in in-studio. Join me for about twenty or thirty more minutes. "I wonder if the Jay z NAS beef would be viewed differently. If this had been the third record released after ether takeover ether. And then if it was this instead of super ugly, which he put out anybody does it remember. This one. This is a great great song. I'll argue to you know. The way remembered, I guess now's won that battle JC won the war. But the takeover is the best record released from that whole period in my humble opinion. If I do say so myself right here in his my radio show. It's got my name on it. So my opinion is the one that matters the most right now eight five five two one two four two two seven. If you wanna get your opinion in before the end of the show expecting to talk to the president of the Milwaukee Bucks. Peter Fagin coming up in just a second here. And you know, the the bucks it's interesting they want again last night. I bet on them last night seven and a half point favorites on the road set shows you what they are right now and how well they've been playing. I still think there's like a a modicum of doubt around that team where you you look at them. And you haven't seen him do it before. I think that's one thing. I also think coach buttonholes are he's. Did a great job in Atlanta. But those teams when they got to the playoffs, and it was a one team versus one team matchup and teams could specifically game plan for what they did. They didn't do as well in the playoffs after some great regular seasons for Atlanta. So there's that skepticism then I also have a little bit of when they get to crunch time and somebody has to create their own shot in a tight game can do that. As of this moment. He's just a sensational player. But he doesn't have that reliable jump shot yet. So that would be another reason to doubt. But when you just looking at plane record when you were looking at point differential when you're looking at, you know, basically any way to measure, how quality a basketball team is Milwaukee is the real deal, and I'm joined now by the president of the Milwaukee Bucks. Peter Fagin Peter first of all congratulations on the season. Second of all how often do you say, man? I'm glad we. Drafted jaanus. I mean, I I don't think day goes by when we don't just smile we were a bunch of us weren't Dallas last night. Just watching five or six plays after we've seen him play thousands of minutes that would just kinda smile. We don't even have words anymore. Do you do sense that people doubt your team at all? In the sense. I was just sort of talking about it by any statistical measure an elite team you have a superstar you have shooting you have length defensively, but we haven't seen the bucks. Do it in the playoffs. You know, Janas hasn't exactly had those moments where he's creating his own shot at the end of games coach, but has been sensational. But does Atlanta teams didn't exactly do it in the playoffs. Do you? Do you think any doubt of your team is warranted? Well, first of all, you know, we we sit here, and it has been a while since since we went past the first round we are having a season. We have forty one wins before the all star break. We we have a little got a small city underdog spirit, where we were I tell you you certainly not getting the press or the appreciation that that you think you might with this team that is in the top five in every category that is winning by marching ten plus points, and by all other standards like he's just really is the best team in the NBA. So it's it's just incredible. But at the same time, listen like it all ends up in the playoffs. So we think this is great unbelievable season big. You're right. All of the equity is driven by how you do at the end of the season. You know, it's interesting because I can I can look at it two ways. I I could see you know, I referenced the Atlanta Hawks obviously because of the coach and those teams. Is being great in the regular season. Not so great in the playoffs. But you know, another team that comes to mind when when I'm thinking about Milwaukee is the two thousand eleven Dallas Mavericks where that was a team that maybe people it just like they had to keep proving it. But eventually you're like, oh that was a great team. And do you think there's any similarities there because it's not like you don't have other good players on the team. But there was Dirk on that team. And then a bunch of really good players, and you have Janas on this team in a bunch of really good players and shooting. Yeah. I think it's really similar. I think if you if you think about those those teams Miami at the time was probably a lot like a Golden State. You know, the team a, you know, the built this team Dallas had an awesome team. You know, they had chasing kid that year. They had Turkey. It was it was building. They kind of finally find finally got the credit deserve like in the NBA finals when when they won, you know, I think we've got these same type of story when you look at the team, you certainly look at Janas. But you know, he's got his star all star in Chris Middleton. He's got Eric Bledsoe. Who's also having you know all-star season. Then there's not much you can't say about you know, what Lopez has as mean to this has meant to this team not only on the offensive side with which threes. But I mean the way we're playing defense and how key is center. I think the similarities are the same. But less more about kind of just not at the top of the list when you when you watch highlights at the end of the night, you know, we we could win by twenty two bucks are going to be the second or third story. Instead of the first story. Brooke Lopez you bring up a he does deserve some some mentioned here because they to be honest. I thought he was a guy from a bygone era, and he's totally reinvented. His game talking to Peter Fagin, president of the Milwaukee Bucks here on CBS sports radio. Now, the Eastern Conference the rest of the east has made some moves LeBron said you guys saw that he wasn't there anymore and decided to go for what what did you make of the moves made by obviously your team made one in acquiring merits. But the moves made by say, Philadelphia and Toronto. And where Boston is right now. Yeah. I mean, I think you've got like you get really strong unbelievable teams that are all going to fight for the eastern in a in a pretty competitive way. I mean, silly is deeper than they've ever been. And they started before the Trent Lott trade deadline has a pretty deep team. So, you know, we sit there and really say like it's important to to to really end up, you know, in one two or three to to have a good some good momentum into the playoffs because it's gonna be a tough tough time to get out of the east. Is there any particular team or player that that? You're you're worried about or do you see all those teams on on equal footing? I think we I think, you know, coach bud kind of, you know, says this that we worrying about ourselves like in a big way. So we don't necessarily take it team by team. We think they're all strong. And, but you know for us if we're playing really well. You know, we should we should be able to take these you you feel that way unequivocally like you have the best team in the Eastern Conference. Now, if you feel that way, let me take it a step further because it's almost like people talk about the east has the second place prize. But that's not what you guys are playing for. There may be reason to believe Golden State is more vulnerable this year between a lack of depth trying to work cousins in Durant situation, just the myriad of factors. Attrition playing that deep every year. Do you see Golden State or whomever comes out of the west as as beatable for your squad? Listen, we think there's a conceptual saver. But the reality is I mean, we playing great, you know, winning basketball against the west coast. We think much like the east anybody that comes out of the west is is going to have a pretty tough playoff run with a pretty competitive sort of teams. So for us. I think to go into it, and you know, you can ask John horse and coach and all the players like you gotta get there. And we can beat anybody Robin lemberg talking to Peter frigging, president of the Milwaukee Bucks here on CBS sports radio. Now, the bucks name came up with Anthony Davis. And I don't know where these reports necessarily come from. Sometimes I'm a little skeptical of whose agents trying to feed information which organization is trying to feed information. Nevertheless, there was a list of teams that was put out there that Anthony Davis was looking at Milwaukee Bucks where we're on that list. What's your reaction to that? Reactions like we're pretty thrilled. With the way, we headed out of the trade deadline and happy with what we have. We'd love to be an attractive. And attracted team and attractive city and attractive organization for everybody. It's what Gillanders vision wise was to really build like a first class gold standard operation. And I think you know, when when players start to have interest in in specific teams and organizations that that's great. On our search for those for those teams team owner did say, I think it doesn't make a difference. If you're Milwaukee New Yorker LA the whole goal is winning. So we would hope it would be players like Anthony Davis and others who want to come to Milwaukee. And I've heard people bring up the tampering with that comment, which I think is ridiculous. Just like I thought it was ridiculous people brought it up with LeBron when he was asked the question, you know, what do you think about possibly in? Anthony Davis training said. Yeah. Of course, I like Anthony Davis on my team. Do you? Find the tampering rules to be silly. Well. I find the rules to be rule. So you'll not have any comment on that. Are mentioned players by. But I think, you know, listen, I I think we're all governed and things haven't really changed that much. It's just the media and was social it's gotten it's gotten so much to the top of top of mind, and it's kind been said over and over again, but you know, it'll continue to happen. Here's the interesting thing about the small markets and our owners kind of bought the team five years ago. It was it was it was look at look at the great case studies. I mean, Oklahoma City San Antonio. And these these markets have redefined, you know, what the success of a small market NBA day. Player. You can't mentioned by name and you did before. But let's circle back to Janas for a second. It seems like James harden has become the presumptive MVP. Again. Do you think that Jaanus is being slighted in that conversation at all? Oh, undoubtedly I mean, I think how Janas has to be the overwhelming favourite for seventy TI certainly get what what hardness doing is incredible kind of out of scoring list. But I think you know, at the end of the season, and when we see the results of the team, and what got us. Contribution to the team would be in in number in number of wins in where we are where we are eighty four years in in in the stats. Call them across the board and you're talking to the wrong guy. Yeah. Honest, as my MVP, you know, every day of the week. It's gotta be great to have not just as a great player, but a likable player. I thought he and LeBron is entertaining. When they they went back and forth on that all star draft. How do you think? He did there. I mean, he was gone. We're just excited to the world to keep seeing him. I mean, this is this is a guy who is just like that. I mean, he is he's one of the smartest funniest and fun. You know, kinda guys he's got you know, he is. He is one thousand percent about basketball. He if he's not basketball, he's with family and these about going back to playing basketball, and he keeps a pretty good mood about it. Which is which is fun for everybody. Peter. I really appreciate the time and good luck the rest of the season and congratulations on the season, regardless of what happens from here on. Now. It's been a great season for your team. We appreciate it. Thanks very much. Go bucks. Peter Fagin, president of the Milwaukee Bucks. Who I think people might not realize just how good a season they are having. I was saying before there's this level of skepticism. I guess not having seen them do it in the postseason before. But they have the best record in the NBA. Number one. They have the best point differential in the NBA number one. And it's not close, by the way. Like the warriors are beating teams by seven point seven points. A game. The bucks are beating teams by ten point three points per game..

"Mrs Wisconsin's afternoon news on NewsRadio six twenty WTMJ. A big story that we broke earlier today shortly after one o'clock this afternoon. A lawsuit filed in civil court in Milwaukee county, Jason heartland who is the former managing director of business development for the bucks. High up in their front office is suing the team for unspecified damages. He says that he is owed. Because he landed the naming rights he landed the naming rights for the Milwaukee Bucks arena. Pfizer forum. It's very interesting in the lawsuit. He says that this happened because he made a cold call to the CEO of Pfizer. This is what heartland does he's one of the best in the nation at this. He's done it for multiple teams. And he cold called the CEO of Pfizer and that led to an exchange of cell phone numbers correspondence during the day and at night, and according to heartlands lawsuit. He was the one who landed the name on the side of that new building. He went on to another job. And before he did the bucks asked him to stay. So he could shepherd through the final stages of the naming rights being secured. He did he eventually took another job with the Milwaukee Brewers. Actually, he took that job and was promised. He said by the bucks that he would be paid commission for those naming rights. It's in these documents, and what I've been told a little less than one percent of the total. Value their estimates that the value does naming rights could be upwards of one hundred twenty million dollars. So you can do the math. He was never paid. He said despite being promised by several people that he would be paid. And he wasn't. So now, he is suing the Milwaukee Bucks actually, naming the organization his supervisor and the CFO of the country, Patrick McDonough. I spoke earlier with Jason heartlands attorney her name is Shannon, Allen. And she began by asking if she could read a statement, which is how this interview begins Milwaukee Bucks wonderful things for the Greater Milwaukee community as alleged in the complaint filed say my client, Jason Hartland procured the naming rights for the Pfizer form while employees by the block as well as several other significant corporate sponsorships, including sponsorship from Harley Davidson trainer in the Medical College of Wisconsin start Cento and weapon Mitchell lawsuit. Fox fulfill their obligations, Mr. heartland or the benefit of the bucks received as a result heartland services. How do the bucks respond? They've been made aware of this. And they refused to pay him. What you and Mr. Hartland believe are owed. Is that correct? Is that a fair assessment? I probably can't comment on that. Did the bucks president Peter Fagin personally talk to your client via phone call? Or some other means and tell him he would not be paid. Yes. As a wedge lawsuit. So how did that conversation take place? How did it lead to Peter Fagin as the president of the bucks being directly involved when he wasn't the Mr. Hartland supervisor? I'm not going to be able to get into those details. Were there intermediate steps that were taken before the decision was made to file the lawsuit were there ever other avenues that were explored. I can't answer that can you? Let me know how much you're seeking damages the complaint that was filed today there's no specific amount alleged to be determined. It's detailed in there that he waited to take his next opportunity with the brewers. So that he could at the urging of the bucks complete the funding of the naming rights was that with the understanding that he would be paid for that work complaint before south on that. I'm not gonna comment on that. How difficult is just been on your client who worked very hard for the Milwaukee Bucks. You know, I really don't think I can answer that question. Either imports a wing that is Shannon Allen. She represents Jason Hartland. He is the former guy in charge of naming rights for Pfizer forum landing that deal who is suing the bucks saying that he is do commission that he should be paid. The lawsuit says he has been paid nothing for being the one that everyone agrees. According to the lawsuit was the guy who landed the naming rights a couple of other things here. So I reached out to the Milwaukee Bucks. They have declined our request to do an interview and just literally while that interview is playing with the attorney for Jason heartland berry bombed the chief communications officer for the Milwaukee Bucks. Sent me a statement. This is what it says the lawsuit filed by Jason Hartland is without any merit factually or legally, and we're disappointed that he chose to pursue it. Once again, the lawsuit filed by Jason Hartland is without any merit factually or legally, and we're disappointed that he chose to pursue it. One. Other interesting nugget from the lawsuit in 2017, Peter Fagin and another colleague attempted to land Foxconn as the naming rights sponsor. They thought it was close and could happen. The chairman Terry go wanted to be part owner of the bucks to make that happen. According to this lawsuit wanted an ownership interest. And the NBA said you already have too many minority owners, but will waive that if Terry go wants to name the stadium after Foxconn, we will waive that and he'll get his ownership. Portion that did not happen Foxconn walked away from the table. And obviously that deal never happened. More on WTMJ dot com right now. News about your money. "Thank you. Member FDIC. Time for bucks insiders. It's president Peter fake. And he's wearing three pairs of long underwear. It's so cold outside. Hi, Peter guy. Just coming back from Titletown for the first real skate and flood and walk around. So actually kind of nice out. All right fantastic. Hey, peter. We're always glad to have you with us. Their reports out that the bucks who've been trying to get the all star game may land it by twenty twenty three. Have you been notified win, the bucks? We'll get an all star game. And of course, I had to write it back and see what are you talking about? And he wrote back all star. And I said that's not an announcement. So now, we're on we are one of the for the next announcement. We've we've put a lot of energy and and thoughts behind our proposal league is. Yeah. It's very supportive. So we're kind of with everybody else kinda waiting for an affirmative answer to to get one of the next two all stars that are going to be that of favorable response. Or does the league not really tip their hand? Peter the league plays a good game of poker. You know? I think they're beyond supportive. They love Adam silver's made it clear that it would be right to have an all star game in Milwaukee, and Wisconsin. But but there's no there's no real hedging either way. So we don't have an education. Good news. I feel that it's going to be a fun time down near the arenas early. As Friday as good city brewing. Does a soft opening the whole area of Peter. It's starting to come to life. You that's gotta be a next great thing for you to see the whole envision coming together. Yeah. I think it's kind of like lighting up to say. It's kind of an accelerate. So it is great. And by the way, good city brewing. I'm doing a feature on Sean Zell guys is dietitian. Chef the bucks. One of the first in the league to make the commitment to have a full-time chef dietitian two part question. How often do you get to eat something he prepares? And what's your favorite thing that Sean selfies up? Well, I would I if if he was my chef certainly would be a bad testament to him if you've seen my body type. So I'm a breakfast guy for Sean. We've got a good thing going defensively with Brooke, and I've been wanting to talk about it every time I get a chance and you guys asking question. I turn it to his defense altering shots. You know? I think you can't say enough about what he's doing for us sound, courtesy of bucks dot com. And then there's James harden, John James harden his. On a tear. Unlike any other in his last five games, the Houston Rockets star is averaging averaging over fifty two points per game. He scored sixty one last night. Now, amazingly he's scored two hundred sixty one straight points over five games. And none of his buckets have come via in assist. None zero. Wow. Zero that's already three pointer, whatever he's doing with the ice. Oh, he's not getting a pass on his way to a layup. Everything is pretty remarkable. I don't know if that's great. Wisconsin begins nine o'clock tonight. Runs until noon. Tomorrow, windy and bitter cold tonight, ten below inland for your low wind chills. A thirty five below tomorrow. Bitter cold a high of two degrees wind chills thirty below during the day tomorrow, Saturday, very cold eight Sunday, cold high of twelve Monday snow is likely a high of thirty degrees in Waukesha. It's thirty in Milwaukee. It's twenty two degrees. So Wilbur Ross is the commerce secretary in the Trump administration, and he was testifying today and was asked about furloughed workers. And he had this comment about how they can maybe cope with not being paid or being laid off first of all the banks and the credit union should be making credit available to them. When you think about it? These are basically government guaranteed loans because the government has committed. These folks will get their back pay once this whole thing. Good subtle, Dale. So there really is not a good excuse. Why there really should be able to quitted the crisis? Now true. The people might have to pay a little bit of interest. But the idea that paycheck or zero is not a really valid idea. There's no reason why some institution wouldn't be willing to let. Okay. So basically, what he said was, you know, we're not paying you were sorry about that. You can take out a loan. And yeah, you'll have to pay a little bit of interest, but take out a loan because you're not getting paid for the job that you're doing liberal Ross went on to say this to put it in perspective, you're talking about eight hundred thousand workers, and while I feel sorry for the individuals that have hardship cases eight hundred thousand workers if they never got their pay. Which is not the case, they will eventually get it. But if they never got it you're talking about a third of a percent on our GDP. So it's not like it's a gigantic number. All right. If you're one of those eight hundred thousand workers is it not a big deal Wilbur Ross the commerce secretary. But then again, I guess he wouldn't know because his net worth is two point nine billion dollars. He's on the prestigious Forbes four hundred list, he's probably the richest person in a very rich Donald Trump administration bad optics. "Brands CEO who spends a lot of time with the best of the best professional sports athletes. Do you remember the very first professional athletes? I remember meeting Willie rand off and having that be a bigger than any of the other ones I've met, and I was one of these kids who would go to baseball card show every weekend. My mom would mom would take me every weekend. And we'd go and we'd meet Ruben Sierra or these weren't necessarily like the biggest stars of the Vegas. Whatever. Jose. Oh, kendall. Yes, exactly Raphael. Santana's going to be wherever and it's six dollars for a ball and ten dollars for a flat item, or whatever the case might be. So. When I played little league, the local coach assistant coach or player would come and show up at our little league dinner. But I certainly remembered Willie Randolph who I think your favorite players when you're like twelve. Really who your favorite teams and players are always going to be your life because you know, as an adult you kinda root for it. A little different being a Yankees fan in meeting Willie Randolph at that time game to talk to you minutes, and which is absolutely incredible. You know, it's interesting you say that because oftentimes you hear about how we don't really know our heroes right in once you get to know him, you actually man I wish I wouldn't have met that guy because they are really they're they're just like you and me the most of them are pretty normal dudes, some of them are special and unique ways, but most of them are just your standard standard guy. I don't find. That's not the case. I don't find them to be normal. At all interesting. I find they some are better at appearing to be normal than others, but people who in any walk of life achieve at that elite of a level are oftentimes wired, a little different and the passion the work ethic. What they do to get to that level. I think we all don't appreciate what they've done. You look at a player like Craig counsel was obviously a very gifted athlete. Craig we all love to sit around and talk about how he's the most normal down to earth. Typical guy who grew up in Wisconsin. But I think that's shortchanging who he is the greatness that he's chief as a player, and as a manager is not normal, and you don't get to achieve at that. Elite eleven on the playing field. Oh, yeah. He just was a hard worker. Now. I mean, you have to have top one percent of the one percent of the one percent work ethic to go on top of the talent to go on top. So I don't want to ever short change someone like Craig counsel by saying he's normal because he appears normal on the outside. But there's no way something like that could be normal and achieve all the things that he achieved for us. As Wisconsin sports says we need to live vicariously through you for a minute. So you've you've met most of the the big names sports guys here in Wisconsin. Many of them. Is that still overwhelming it all as ever moments? You like I'm standing next Aaron Rodgers or do you get comfortable with after? I don't think I don't think I have those moments when I'm working with them or talking with them. I do think when we decided to create the Wisconsin sports awards. It was something that I had a vision for because I had seen it in Cleveland, Ohio in two thousand six and I said, gosh, Wisconsin. Maybe it's not the Milwaukee sorts words 'cause Wisconsin sports fans. It's Green Bay Madison. It's no, it's everything. So we should do the Wisconsin sports awards, but I don't wanna do this event. And have it be called the Wisconsin sports awards. And then Brett farve is gonna win the player of the year every year, and he's not gonna show up to art event and having to give Brett farve to show up to our event. So I wanted to do this. They wanted to do want to do it. And it was five six years later where we finally developed a great relationship with Aaron Rodgers.
