"Universe. It's time and the didn't go to to join burton for this job. Why perhaps that. Joan burned was in one of his occasional. Hoff's very unlike the money's he's so even tempered the little little pass. John burns crime as well. I actually. I'm i'm a big john. Byrne eighty defender like i adore eighties. Work like unilaterally but like by nineteen ninety two. I don't know if he ever puts out a thing. That is particularly remarkable again. Like he does okay. Work just himself works in my mind. But like i'd like marley to do next man. I thought that was. I have not i. I am not dove into that yet. So i guess it's interesting but it's probably for me not the last really good burn thing when he comes back to marvel and he's doing x. Men hit years and stuff like that is. I think it's futile john. Byrne going through the motions of being. John learn rather than anything. That's a real straightening behind it. So the rolled i for launch titles for the signing series so the spiderman tonight ravage punisher and doom and the creators they go on these. Were quite interesting in that. Stanley did stick around to do ravage. Yep am although that. I think he was working with paul ryan rials. Yeah paul ryan on on our. I think they own writing. Say two things can't remember whether it was pat mills takes over the rating of pat mills. Punisher twenty nine thousand nine which is a very interesting one frame. But he's a to d and be seeing mills doing anything marvel. Us but on spidey twenty nine hundred nine. The went to peter davis Brick leonardi which is a for my money. Nine thousand nine hundred. That's a dream team. Yeah yeah yeah. I mean peter. David's peter david has gone from doing like just the hulk to having like three or four titles under his belt right now in nineteen ninety-two he is. He's becoming like a superstar in marvel and rightfully so like more or less everything. I've read for by. Peter david at this time period is either good or great right like he's not putting out anything that is not like you know us at the very least solid right like i feel like there's some stuff where we've been a little cooler on it but like but then he's doing factory now and it's great stuff So yeah this is like you said. It's peter david rick. Leonardi on the art I guess i want to ask kind of a broad question for you spiderman. Twenty nine twenty thousand nine based on these three issues. You know i am. We can get into where this goes eventually but based on these three issues. Do you think that this this is. This is really one of the. I like big superhero origins. We've read a long time. You know they are not bringing in like here's a new hero. And here's an entire origin issue or three issues right like we're really diving into this origin..

We're going to have to go looking for sixty nine nations movies while why gooch so. Yeah man within the hour. I told him he had dug out his floppies he had read them and send fees feedback sent. I was like we what it was early morning for me so it was probably evening for him. But i'm like still my holy crap. Motivation buddy motivation of the nineties like adding. let's get to the news staff Did you pick up amazing. Fantasy number one. I did not give. I mean the issue obviously picked it up half the black widows were. It was pretty good though. And then what was the other one that i really late The captain america one is really good to actually Both wrote it ends in the art. It is a five dollar book. Do something to be aware of in a very much a love letter But it's like very like actually like high fantasy. Like game of thrones dragons other dimensions. Things like that so i just really liked that that kind of take on it. Because i'm kinda into that stuff. Those seeing those things merged together and then also giving it that epic name of amazing fantasy. Obviously i mean for the art alone. I would i would say go ahead. Yeah i like corey andrews. I might have to pick that up your so. Let's talk the new book. The real new snyder. Buzz all right. Well let's start with the one. I don't have a synopsis for symbian spiderman crossroads. Speaking of the whole fat happened. What did you what's wrong. Little moon dark zada hours I wonder if it would tickle someone else's fancy. We're doing me now. Peter davis obviously has taken up interesting. It's just not now i want. It's good it's just not eating. Actually interested are clamoring for. He seems like he's going in weird directions with these because even last time there was the whole thing with doctor strange and stuff and yet it's like i don't care this is more like mysticism and stuff. Will i guess an excuse to get spiderman crossroads where the hulk is currently trapped. Will well you know. Like like lee told me to grab you deal go but i also think that it's kinda prequels to you. Know his run on whole. I guess moved idea so i get it. I get it i like it. It's not great enough oughta get it blended. Okay on the art. I hadn't seen him team up with somebody other than that. I why was. I was expecting someone else on the art. Yes oh i'm greg. Good jobless put it in the collection. But i don't know if i'm ever going to read it again kind of there. Were some fun moments. Just like the whole chameleon thing and joanna thinking. I got you down not the president. It's imposter community as always expected champollion on the lert on wonder if i wonder chameleons gonna be kelly. When kelly's writing amazing i feel like. Yeah you tab spiderman column. "And so carrying a little bit about who cares about who's on the other team or whatever like that gives us something else hold onto beyond the fighting and then the bad guys like he does a good job of keeping it moving enough end light on its feet enough that even characters that i feel like like well. This is an expert guy. Just don't recognize something. Like i never feel bogged down by not lately. There's a there's a through here a few issues of this guy called vic chalker and he's clearly like this anti mutant scientists who's trying to build like a battle mech suit and we get like two or three scenes of him just in. It's just this little side. I don't know what has to do with the main story. I have no idea how this ties in the main factor. It's just a few single pages and he's just like i've created the most powerful battle suit of all time time to exterminate all mutants and then like realizes that it uses too much energy and he's locked in his suit and the i was hilarious and i just it was actually really. I think there's a lot of There are a lot of inside jokes about the silliness of a lot of what the xbox touch on like the over the top villains and like people like peter davis kinda of pushes them a little further for comedic effect. Like the guy getting stuck in a suit because you're what you're reading these panels and you're like okay will. This is going to be the next person left to fight any like he stuff. There can't even move like no one's even helping him out of the and then and then it follows up with he. He's like all right. I fixed my power supply problem time to go exterminate all and he steps outside and he's like oh. I thought the forecast called for sunny weather. And it starts raining electrocute. It and he's dead. What's it like like you see i. It's not super clear but in the corner you can see that. It's just like a charred skeleton in the suit now and another x factor guys like flying by and it's just interesting statue it is and i feel like there's like there is a lot of and sometimes works better than others. There's a lot of like little district bits here and there in these issues Just kind of where is a real problem gonna come in. What is this character going to do. I'm especially when it comes to the doctor who is to their the what is the. Mls is that what they're called. The and richard front okay. And which are like the like these are the the bad mutant extremists. Violence ones animal liberation front. So they're like going after the doctor right and they're like oh sorry no please no. I don't want to interrupt. I was just gonna say that like they're going to the doctor and we have like these two warring sides on whether or not we protect dr Or not. And i thought that was such a smart button but in to hang like a lot of little character. Bits autho because then you see all the reacting in different ways and see where they stand and the personal decisions. They make around topics like these I love is really interesting. So did you like. Did you think this worked this. This like plot thread of because i..

I'm generally the 3rd 2020. We had a very hot day. It was over 40 degrees at nine o'clock in the morning. The wind was very strong around about 30 to 50 kilometers. An heir We had a far in the national packed at the West End of cattle on it had been burning for four days. By then. Now that day it just exploded. Was on the family fam with my two sons. All of a sudden the fire was all around us. We were right by the house. We had to take shelter in the house. We had two vehicles just burning almost immediately, So we sheltered in the house for 4.5 minutes. When we came out If I had passed, But the whole roof line of the house was a lot. Now I have never experienced anything like that, in more than 50 years of firefighting. One of the things that I do is I'm a beekeeper, and I Had over 1100 hives prior to the fire. We lost over 500 on that day. It's been challenging. Because 60% of the island's vegetation burned in that fire period of just a couple of weeks. We've had to move any hives. That we have left to the eastern end of the island. The eastern end is drier. It's usually not as productive as the West end, but we are still surviving when you get adversity. People pull together at climate change is real. But what we really have to do is adapt and management so that we have sustainable management of their parks. There a 90 vegetation areas and their whole lives. We have to use fire like the Aborigines did in Australia for thousands of years. We burn small areas to save the larger Areas. We say that our animals and birds and insects by burning little patches so that they've got areas to seek refuge in. It'll be challenging for the next few years until these areas regrow and the big trees flower again. But we will survive. And that was Peter Davis of volunteer firefighter more than 50 years on Kangaroo Island.

You know, let's samples of four different craft beers on tap. It's going to set you back, seventy five bucks. The ailing and hard booze concoction called Yelm is a run punch, and it's garments with passion fruit seeds man cost about forty five bucks. Wchs. But of course, they do include the collectible glasses to go with them. So kinda make sense. Then number of measles cases has been jumping again, the US centers for disease control and prevention say, another sixty cases of measles are reported in the past week. "Abdin similarly to how Fisher it back in shape today or were there any differences? It was much cruder today when you get a shipment of fish from Malawi or Tanganyika they coming up styrofoam box. That's a formed box. Like we use back then they would buy the styrofoam cut it to fit the box. The boxes were cardboard. We're fairly good. But you know, a lot of them came apart. It was four bags per box. You know, depending on size fish ten twelve fish per bag. So you get anywhere from thirty six forty eight whatever. And if they were really big fishing, Email only get twelve and of course freight is almost as expensive as the fish, but back, then we could pay seven dollars for full grown peacock and get it landed here for like fourteen fifteen you can't even think about doing that. Now, and it it's ridiculous. How much freight is right now. And then the last question, I had logistics is did your landlord care about all these tanks? It didn't really matter. Well, it's kind of interesting because I had a tank I had my partners upstairs Andy's was downstairs, and I converted one of my bedrooms into just a fish room. And like had a hose running out the window down the side where we trained the water. He did the same thing and the landlord never know the only probably had was in my community tank. I had this Archer fish, and he was just the coolest fish. And I'd sit up a wire with nuts in it. I'd walk mealy worms and crickets down it. Well, the not he decided those were potential prey, so he would just whack on those knots all day long like ruining the wall behind you had to replace the drywall was at the time. But are bland Lord never knew we were there and probably six months. Eight months after we got going. We rented a a old house or office on lake Bradford road and fix the roof and ripped everything out and converted the whole thing into our fish import facility. Now, we're regulations restrict. Back then in terms of importing and selling or were they pretty straightforward. That was very easy. I mean at the airport when we bring the fish in the the problem is that the fish would arrive Saturday evening into Miami. And then we had to quickly pick up an eastern flight into Tallahassee. We had an agent customs broker down that would clear, and they just had to deal with wildlife and wildlife, you know, it was very fairly simple fairly cheap. But the problems we had was every second shipment would make the flight. So then it would be sitting there. So we'd have to often the van we know it by two or three o'clock that it wasn't gonna make the flight was coming in late on British air. We'd hop in the van drive down to Miami, pick them up driving back to tell us, you know, unload them because if we didn't know we can have some big losses. So very few regulations shipping out was easy. We had to do the same thing we were making our own styrofoams by cutting it because we didn't have access to Tampa boxes for a while. That was the hardest part is coming up with materials to ship. And and get the fish out. So we're going to take a break in a sec. But before we do I want to ask you when you send me send information we talked a little bit. You had a really interesting kind of navy procedure because a lot of these fish as you mentioned really hadn't been in the US, or at least really easily available. So so maybe tell us a little bit about how you named some of these fish when they came in. Well, you know, what what we were not really very scientific now won't be. I started dealing with Peter Davis. Most of the fish were already know Tracy's and Arado, and he was shipping those fish. But when we later on we'll get into later, but when we started getting fish from some of the other experts that we found him over there are they ever shipping from a whole new areas. So the fish would have no names, and they would just send them as you know, box three is something so they'd wanna name back. So the next time they could figure out what's going on. Well, we didn't have a lot of time to look up most of the pictures. They had a time where dead fish and fish. There were an alcohol. Just couldn't tell the cars. So we would. Just name them. So for example, Kenny, I which is the name of and Buna right now. There was a horse Trotter that we moved to Miami, a horse rider came down here from Detroit, and he was racing here. And he came to form a couple of times, and he had a horse. It wasn't worth anything. So he gave it to my brother's wife. So we named Kenny. I after his name was Ken VC ten which is happened Lomo. Now when they're expert or call us up said, hey, I got a new fish. And and I said, well, what does it look like, so I don't know. But we just sent it out on the BBC ten so we named VC ten Avantis along goddess we named after my neighbor had a Studebaker of auntie and the list goes on and on. So we were very scientific about how we did this extremely, you know, a rigorous in our, but you know, what's really need is probably thirty of the names, we came up with are still mainstays. They've changed the names a million times to other things but still when you see out there candy. I look home along goddess marmalade bossy BC ten. All.

"From allowing to Miami and Miami, Tallahassee was not killer. So we both were working other jobs. I was working electric company, and my brother was working for the state. So we we know we had some money that we could do that where that it wasn't killer. So we only received like I think ten twelve bucks is the first time we manage that sold him. So then we had some money, and we all every bit up with back, and we didn't give our jobs or anything while we were doing this. Okay.
