Is Tom Brady now the greatest team sport athlete ever?
"Who is the greatest athlete of all time to debate. That i saw again and again on social media today after tom brady won another super bowl. Mvp super bowl ring. He does again at the age of forty three and this might be as most impressive super bowl victory yet. And i don't even know how you have. That discussion in the big picture to be honest is like where. What are you basing it on is the number of championships is it. The number of mvp's is it. How levick you are It could be you know you can dismiss some guys because they're part of a team sport versus individual where it's one hundred percent of that person that drives a success like that's probably a i mean. It's an apples and oranges thing as well different sports. I don't even know how ya how you could ever come up with that. certainly james. Tom brady is very much in that discussion. Now here's the. Here's the issue. Stevie with tom brady being you know the certainly certainly the greatest quarterback of all time okay. Let's go with that all right. Let's go hands down greatest guy to play that position seven championships multiple. Mvp's multiple wins games. All that stuff. So i think he's the greatest quarterback but but if you if you were on that same team with tom say prior to the tampa and you're on the six superbowls and you know another player on that team another quarterback of course but so so. Where does that leave you. You know if you're if you're a middle linebacker going or gronkowski on. Hey i want six. There is that what is that. What the qualifiers. To be the greatest of all times. I was there. I wouldn't six so the the football kind of funny for me to pick to pick a player that has a completely different position in hockey. For example everyone you know you got a bunch of forwards bunch of skaters know and they award them bill norris trophy for defense and all that stuff and so hockey. I think you can figure out who. Who's greatest of all time because you're comparing apples to apples there. So that that's a bit of an issue for me to single dot saying you're the greatest of all time again again because there'd be other guys who played on that team who won super bowl championships you know it's just an interesting position to because everything goes to the quarterback it's such a unique position your guiding the ship. You're the leader of the team on and off the field. It's such a unique position that in team sports is not really another comparison in my opinion the other sport that i could compare that to where where i think. You're singling out a position player. So i don't think you can call them the greatest football player of all time. It's quarterback baseball right. You can get an you. Get an ace pitcher. Okay on a on team of course and if you said okay well he's he's the greatest baseball player of all time. And you're going to wait. Wait a minute wait a minute. I'm i'm sammy sosa over here. Okay right what do you mean. I'm where i'm pete rose there. I'm i guess pizza name wouldn't be in there anymore. You know what i mean. So bad is gonna wait. Wait a minute here. Fifty dinger's here for eight of my twelve seasons

"It would be tough to be a manager even for him and i think that would be. That'd be a tall order. That's not to say you wouldn't see him down. As coach of some kind certainly spring training whatever it might be. I think he would immediately want to get back into the game. And that's not something. I think the baseball wants That's one of the reasons why they they've been. They haven't done anything to change the situation because they have ppac there you know. And he's still a gambler You still best horse races and other things to have him back on. The field is tricky proposition for baseball. He's about one hundred yards away from sports for signing autographs right. Exactly and then he'll have people go over there and that's for him so it's You know it's it's still a part of his life no question fascinating Kinda look into the life of pete rose american dilemmas. "There were shouting and What was then shea stadium so He had this connection with fans and he certainly does did create some some disdain among opposing fans and a lot of fancy. Didn't go from that much. But everybody ought to be asking to him. And for the most part people admired and loved him certainly the team playing for cincinnati forever and philadelphia as well but even also among opponents. I think that real baseball fan. Look what he was doing. And it's really. It's hard not to respect that if you're if you're a baseball fan and are you talking the book You said you talked a lot of ex team teammates him. I know he and the mike schmidt Mike schmidt is kind of been a supporter of him throughout. All of this. But kind of wasn't at first. I guess the the closer now or what's their relationship. Yeah it's been a little bit you know. They've always had kind of a little bit of a caustic relationship. I mean they. They obviously teammates throughout those great big red machine year. And if you look at at cincinnati's cincinnati sports landscape in cincinnati is a big sports town. the two most important athletes in that town without question our Johnny bench and pete rose and they are number one and number two And there's never been any question who's number one. And that's pete who grew up in cincinnati. And that's never been so easy for johnny johnny's been a little more of a model citizen off the field and there's some animosity there and then when You know. Pete lied about all the stuff he did. Further animosity and bench came out and said some things against him. They begun to repair it. A little bit. they've worked a charity event together last year and But there's still. There's still not quite there yet. But there's a little bit of cordiality between them. And just so johnny's doing commercials again hadn't seen them do one in a while so he's back from tv. Johnny he's He's pretty good at a massive ceremony..

"It was. It was the first time d A that Pete Rose had been on the field. In 10 years after signing away his own banishment, and he was on the field that evening because the fans had voted him in through through the promotion of MasterCard. So you know what? Everybody at NBC, um, felt that you know it was appropriate to ask him these questions and to try and ascertain if Pete was ready to admit He later did admit, um In terms of in terms of betting on baseball and gambling. Um, you know again. There are things that could have been done. Better. I could have been looking at the television monitor instead of watching. What was going on and in shallow center field from the dugout. I was viewing it with my naked eye. I couldn't hear the Cymbals and the trumpets and the beautiful narration of Vin Scully. So It kind of fell flat in the stadium, except for the ovation for Hank Aaron and Pete Rose. So you know, my mistake was that I didn't look at the monitor and see the melancholy feeling D A that everybody was having back home. So you know, I can understand how they felt real warm about baseball and celebrating that 100 years and in all those great players, Ted Williams and so forth. And then we came on and started talking about gambling in baseball, so Timing. And the tone took a drastic change. You consider Pete Rose his own worst enemy. Well, yeah, And I think he's acknowledged that Aziz moved on later in life with his admission in his book on subsequently what he's done, and the apologies that he's made and You know, he realizes he made a horrible mistake. And he acknowledges it. And for the first time in 21 years D a Pete rose and I sat down and we're gonna have an interview on Fox Fox News at 10 o'clock. On Sunday night, November 15th assed part of the talking to goat special that we're doing. Book is talking to goats, and Jim Gray has done that for many, many decades. Now, you host a weekly radio show with Tom Brady, which is heard on many of these same affiliates across the nation. And You would probably know this better than most. Did Brady have an animosity, leaving New England this off season? No, I think it was just time for a change for him. And you know he came. There is nobody He came there 1 99, and he left with six Super Bowls. He's filled with gratitude and respect. Or his entire time there, and there's not animosity here. It was just time for a change. It had run its course. Tom wasn't happy with the way the team played last year. Wasn't you know? Feeling like like it was the best place for him. And, you know, Al Davis used to say this all the time that the voice where's then after 10 years, so he got rid of John Madden, even though John Madden was the greatest coach, you know the Raiders have ever had, and he did the same thing with Tom Flurries. After 10 years that two Super Bowls there for coach Flory, So Tom Brady and Bill Belichick lasted 20 years together with a ton of success. And it just kind of ran its course. But there's there's no bitterness or anger and for anxiety. Tom's very happy in Tampa Bay, and these things happen in sports. Just look at what's happened. The the landscape. It has changes all the time. Michael Jordan finished in Washington. Um Joan Amos with the Rams, Obviously, Montana in Kansas City, so You know it was it was. It was the greatest run ever by Bella check and Brady and the Patriots, but You know, it was just It was just time and everybody you know. Feels that it was great, great run, but All good things must come to an end. I don't think it's more complicated than that. It's just Unfortunately, even Tom's father predicted this a few years ago that this would not end the way it is. It's a lot of fans and people would like it, too. Jim Gray, joining us after decades in the business and multiple Hall of Fame honors. Joining us here on the show 12 Emmy Emmy is over the course of his career. I think back, I worked in Boston for a number of years, I think back to an interview you did on our radio station with our morning show at the Super Bowl. And you're always very cool and even kill and very measured. And you know how to get the best out of your subject. In this case, it seemed like you were frustrated and perturbed. And these are the types of guys that morning show that we had. Two faced hacks that would drag your for a decade and then ask you for favors to help out their own show and anger. Iconic bands like incubates in a drug riddled music festival with drunken rambling You know if you remember that, But if you do what's the key to doing the best in getting the best out of your subject instead of Angering them. Well, you'd have to talk to those guys. I wish them all the best and Things go well for them. I mean, I'm not sure you know. Don't know You'd have to ask them how to do that. You've done it well for a number of years, and the book is obviously going to kind of delve into that. Is the book available now or is it coming out at a later date? Available now talking to goats, any of your great bookstores talking to goats.

"Just after nine. The Great City of Chicago. He study I'm Capt. Jesse Rogers is our baseball insider. He's at the World Series on the company Dime. Think joins us Now. Just say good morning. Yeah, not a bad gig. Can I tell you quick story I got here yesterday and I'm staying near the ballpark. Okay, And we're near the ballpark, right? What's that? The Ritz Carlton's near the You don't make me laugh. I'll spit out my coffee, not the Ritz Carlton. So I'm near the ballpark. I'm walking over there to watch the workouts. The Rays were gonna work out. The Rays have never played in the stadium. The first game will be tonight, which is just crazy, right? This This crazy year that we've had some walking over there and I see all these people in cowboys uniforms and I texted Adam Abdominal. Are the Cowboys play the money? I had no idea. The stadium's air next to each other. So all these cowboy fans air going into watch that crap of a game last night. I'm like, man, I could have gone to see the Cowboys play, so they're allowing about 11,000 fans in Each stadium and then you know, tonight Game one of the world's serious be the first time the race play in the stadium. First time the race play in front of fans this year, so be quite the task for them to overcome all this stuff on beat the Dodgers. But you know what? They've already taken down the Yankees top fight payroll, the Astros top five payroll. Why not the Dodgers? My friend? What is the expected crowd for tonight's game or throughout the world? Siri's? Yeah, I guess that 11,007 11,500 something like that they've had. They've had fans in here throughout the championship. Siri's So it's not going to be any different for the Dodgers. I mean, I wasn't here for the championship serious but talking to pass and the guys that were here that you could hear the crowd. I mean, there was a little bit of a buzz, but I don't think it's going to be The big noise maker for the world. Siri's obviously that you'd expect, And the feeling is there'll be a lot of Dodger fans. Here's not not as many race fans. Let's get back to Chicago for a second. Yeah, A. J. Hinch is a name that is very closely aligned with the Chicago White Sox. As is Tony LaRussa. We've heard rumors of Bruce Bochy. Alex Cora. What do you know? I'm not asking for opinion. What do you know that a J. Hinch did in Houston? Either pro or against the sign stealing. I think it's kind of public already. He just did not stop it. He knew about it and did not stop it. Now. He made a couple attempts. Apparently he's spoken about it, but not enough. He didn't put his foot down and say Enough is enough. Don't do this any anymore, So that's the extent of it. I mean, here's the thing and I will give you my opinion waken go back and forth and what he did or what he did. It's a forgivable offense, at least in my opinion. I don't know about you guys. It's a forgivable offense. This isn't Pete Rose betting on baseball this I just think that Yeah, This is a guy that probably deserves a second chance. Coral. Probably get one. By the way. Course not a bad candidate for the white sex as well. Either One of them would be could candidates. I don't You agree that these air forgive a ble offenses? Both of them did Absolutely. And as we said at the time we found out the names Jessie is that you know him. He's going to get a job someplace. It wouldn't be the White Sox. Well, he's going to get another job because people do deserve a second chance. We know he's a good baseball man, so we knew he'd get another opportunity. But we also had a call Jesse last week, Hoody and I were a guy called in, said I'm a season ticket all there and I'm a huge socks van. If they hire him, I'm done. He'll be back. We think that's what he said. There's hot takes all over the place. I feel like that's the minority opinion. I mean, If you're a die hard fan of a team and your new manager got caught, I don't know, not stopping some sign stealing two years ago three years ago. Really, you're going to abandon your team. For that reason. I mean, there's so many things to get upset about these days. I just I'm not going to lose my mind over over either those 22 guys and what what they did. I think that it's what I said. I think they are forgivable offenses. The Chicago Cubs were in the news when Theo spoke, and then we had recounts Peak and he's making a managerial change, and the pitching coach is gone. We are you waiting for the other shoe to drop on the North side. We know where the Sox airheaded. Do you feel like Yeah, There's gonna be some big news and it's not far away. Yeah, I do. Think there ll be some big news. I do think I do think so There'll be some big news. I don't think it'll be feel related. I think there's one or two things that I haven't heard any power structure change over there just yet. If at all. I think one or two things. They're gonna happen with Theo, even either they're going to publicly say OK, it's Jed Hoyer's thing Right now he's going to hold the press conference is for this season at least. And jet and Theo's going to be his his side man, So to speak, or it's gonna just be internal stuff because there will be a change. I mean, I think if he was making the final decisions that everything last year I I think that changes a little bit this year..

"He'd hit 152 in a red uniform and my Am I just being an idiot and just blanking on another switch hitter would've hit Mohr Felipe Lopez holds the single season record for switch hit home runs home runs by Red Switch it area 23 But I mean other Reds. Javier Valentin was a switch hitter. Tucker Burner was a switch hitter Freddy Galvis, a switch hitter. I think my final answer is Pete Rose would be the Reds franchise later and career home runs by switching her at 1 52. But Ian half the former bear cat. The Cubs leader and career switch hit home runs with 60. All right, let's go back to the phones. And well, you know what I'm going to get? Ah, but I bet I bet John would be able to second my thought on Pete Rose or give me another one. John and Philly. What do you think? Is Pete the Reds all time leader in career switch hit home runs. I I would think you would probably have to be here. I can't really think of anyone else I could. Neither were in the red for a long enough period. Yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't like he had a bunch of rooms, but he had so many He had so many at bats and appearances that pile up after time. I think about it from other teams. I mean, obviously when you think About the entire baseball you like. Eddie Murray Orioles Chipper Jones Braves you There's very few guys that are home run hitters from both sides of the plate is Justin and then think of it from each team. I guess it's really not that surprising that half would have it with 60. You Well, um, He's the last man when you get going.

S. planted the virus there this is their foreign ministry saying we planted appear the U. S. military get it but everybody knows that the head of the World Health Organization Pete rose and Hammond basically you VS in December and yet he was at obligated himself he's a Patsy they are proxy of the jet engine paying that brought him into that job if these wife that paying worked at the World Health Organization as a goodwill ambassador for many years so and they're spending all the money that China has invested in Ethiopia were were yeah G. dresses from so he's totally obligated so what he's do first frenzy what he did was he kept a dirty secret that was going on and we'll hand which was they had this out of control spiralling epidemic that was about to jump all over the world in fact get jump all over the world because cheap rose was asleep at the switch keeping that secret well millions millions of Chinese tourists travel to Europe the United States and every other country on the planet you know that the vacation destination for the Chinese now the laboratory issue let's let's clarify the confusion that came out in the kind of more conspiratorial areas where they said it was a lab manufactured virus that was never the case what I reported to you was that they were experimenting in their bio weapons lab with a virus that was derived from back basically and they were inspecting laboratory animals with them pangolins in particular to see how they responded once they were done the workers at the laboratory basically sell those animals into their wild animal market and that's where the consumption this is into the food chain they were infecting humans and created this map of the epidemic in China and the entry gross who was just from just announced today that he was pulling the funding U. S. funding thank goodness on the World Health Organization for the EC Travelocity that they have committed we're talking we look at people the Cavaliers that exist and the loss of you know the queue of the loss of human life in the world not only that but the thirty trillion dollars off the world gross domestic product plunging it not just the U. S. but the world into a depression not a global recession but actually the depression and you know Wall Street just goes about his business you know doing what it does while we've got fifteen million people filed for unemployment and in another couple weeks it'll be thirty mills we got to get these people back to work John John's website online columnist dot com and apple and Google will partner on a new technology intended to curb the corona virus spread the tech giants are creating a digital contact tracing system powered by a network of smart phones to better help the public understand when they may have been exposed to the virus the system will enable both iPhones and android devices to anonymously broadcast signals to other nearby devices using Bluetooth and scanned for beacons from other phones in proximity let's check in with our expert Lauren Weinstein one this is an amazing technology how how does this work it may not really work very well in practice there there are a lot of efforts going on now this is just one of them and there's others using the same kind of technology approaches to use smartphone related data related to cope with my teeth and and they're not all equivalent in China one of the most effective systems but it's also one of the most draconian you basically can't go anywhere there during the field during the peak of the of the upper deck without having a smartphone and scanning QR codes and tracking of individuals anyone you were near the same location one false move and the helicopter could come after you Israel has a very similar system not as invasive but they have the surgery taken their cell phone tracking system that was designed for anti terrorism and they're now using it to track and control individuals related to cope with nineteen now there are less invasive systems like the ones the ones you just discuss them and there's other organizations also working on Bluetooth based app to the PRI's in some cases so these are a P. eyes were apps would be created by other parties to act access the they all have different technical pluses and minuses of limitations and I won't even try to get into the details here but the executive summary pretty much amounts this trying to figure out if anonymous often apps which is what we're basically talking about here with with with these these kinds of apps here in the U. S. if they're not amiss and you have to choose to use them and you're not going to pass along the information about who the individuals are to the government which most people don't want to have happen are they really going to do any good Bluetooth for example has a number of limitations because for example you could be standing far enough from someone's social distancing where you wouldn't even be a risk of infection but you're still going to get a Bluetooth speaker Bluetooth can go through walls within walls also and the more fundamental question is who is going to install it I mean are the people who you most want to crack in theory if you're going to do contact tracking contact tracing going to voluntarily install these remember here in the US of course it's not like China we aren't required by law to Kerry smartphones to have them turned on to have the GPS turned on or have other kinds of tracking devices turned on me unless you have a tracking ankle bracelet right like walked around there and then so so what do respect for good intentions we we kind of have to keep in.

Probably GonNa Change the title now. Maybe when you're on the network a little longer you could pick the Taiko well. Our show isn't always about jokes. We also bring some hard hitting news. It's true we have some pretty big interviews in the past year. Welcome to a very special nightly pop. I'm here with the disgusting R Kelly. I've said nothing. We just started the interview. You can start a rumor on a guy like me just like that are we started with the snap. Can you even cry on? Cue absolutely absolutely. I don't know the answer to that question. Okay yes you do sir. Did Kassian Colton Vinyl England? I'm sorry please quit. Dodging the question did Colton finally jump or fence sitting here now. I do not know the answer to that art. Our nightly pop team works hard. And sometimes we need to bond and reconnect. That's right and here's some behind the scenes. Look at those important team building moments. I watch a lot of over last night and I have an idea to fix the tension. That's going on between the two of you because I'm not going to be able to do with it too much longer. Why don't we just be positive? We say one nice thing about each other. I will start Morgan. I love the outspoken. You always speak your truth. Thank you Nina Hunter. What I love most about you is that you're just so not physically threatening to you. Know what I mean. Dodgers complete deal for Betts, Price
"Hairston junior of course former major league player world champion with the Yankees And of course the dodgers address analysts for Spectral Sports Net L. A. Jerry. Welcome to the PODCAST. How you doing very well very well? Yes on in Wednesday afternoon four o'clock eastern time. The big press conference at Dodger Stadium. Yes mookie Betts and David price coming to Los Angeles. I know you got to like train and your thoughts. I'm extremely excited. You know the dodgers the last few years. I've put themselves in position to possibly win a world series. It hasn't happened but I really believe adding guy like Mookie Betts in my opinion five baseball ballplayer all in all the major leagues. Excellent top of the order hitter. You know I think this is. He's kind of like the generations. Ricky Henderson excellent speed is they're gonNA NOT GONNA steal a hundred thirty basis because nobody does that anymore really. Nobody did that with ricky played But he gives you speed at the top power A great outfielder in right field. And you put him in the lineup with next month cody bellinger Justin Turner And so on and so forth this is arguably the best lineup and all of baseball and then add to This dodge rotation healthy David Price. Who Brings in championship type pedigree and I really believe? He's GonNa be pitching with a chip on his shoulder. I'm having something to prove the season so I'm excited for the dodgers and the city of La. Jerry dodgers needed a good right handed bat. That lineup is loaded with lefties. This bets bets is going to help that isn't he. Absolutely you know anytime you get a chance to Have the best players in all of baseball. And you're on your lineup. She'd He'd be in your lineup. It's GONNA help but you're always looking for balance and you know like you mentioned. The dodgers were heavy left handed The last two years with Jock Petersen Jason Cory seager cody bellinger Max money. There's nothing wrong with having left handed power but you WANNA kinda offset that a little bit especially with the emergence of Gavin Luxa the new Start second base going to the dodgers have. He's a left handed batter. So you WanNa make sure you balanced when you're facing writings and left these Throughout the season the playoffs so why not not get arguably the best right handed hitting outfielder outside of my trout in base going. That's looking back and Jerry. You don't look at this as as has some sort of rental you don't make a trade for guy player like Mookie Betts and not be willing to sign this guy who can be a free agent. After next year you fully the expect. The dodgers to ante up and paid has got to be a dodger for a long time. Don't you absolutely I liken this to like an Anthony Davis you you know you. Trade for Anthony Davis get him in the fold let them see. La Let him be Laker and see how great it is to be living in La very similar with mookie Betts. You get him over here here. Let them play in this ballpark. Be a dodger Every day Get accustomed to you know the lifestyle. LA which. Really second to none. Being in the bright lights of Hollywood. I I think he's going to love it here and WanNa sign back and certainly. The dodgers have the resources to sign a guy like me or about so. Hopefully he's comfortable here which I think he will be. And we'll love to play here because everybody played here including myself has a loved. But I'm not putting on that dodger. Blue Guess on inside the park a podcast is of course Jerry Hairston junior former major league player and analyst for the dodgers in their TV broadcasts The other part is MOOKIE BETTS AND PRICE COM from Boston and they're under a cloud of suspicion. They're under investigation for what went down with their ex manager. Now Alex Cora and the dodgers chargers got a bronco event they lost in the world series in two thousand eighteen to the red sox. Where do you make of that? Where Mookie Betts and David Price could possibly be implemented uh implicated and talk about that they took part in what could wind up being yet? Another cheating scandal baseball. Well you know what I've heard it. You know before the the commissioner ruled on the Astros. We'd heard rumblings for a couple of weeks. What was coming down the road and we knew it was pretty pretty bad We know that the commission she's GonNa ruin the red SOx pretty pretty quickly. That's what we're hearing And we've also heard it's not nearly as bad as the Astros so I'm kind of banking on that anytime you play a team in the world series and the Super Bowl or the or the NBA finals. You WanNa make sure both sides are on the up and up. And I'm hoping that was the case with the with the Red Sox I'm hoping Alex Cora bidding implement everything that he has with Houston in Boston but that's yet to be seen But you know now that is the guys like Bats and David Price on the fold You gotta wait and see. I'm hoping they weren't a part of it. Obviously David price being a pitcher. Sure certainly wasn't that part of it because it was on the offensive side of the ball. And I'm hoping mookie wasn't in wasn't a part of that as well so that's got to be seen Bob Open for the good in

"That rose bet on baseball but I believe we did that broke the agreement the second time the burger treatment they put him on the all century team well we've been banned from baseball and all baseball activities and let's be supposed authorship so I don't I don't know what kind of attorney the hand I'm just a high school guy but they broke the agreement twice I would use that to try to be reinstated because the Houston astro deal has nothing to do with her with a break like that as if I'm a judge in the entertainment say the actors situation is that of your business yeah I agree you know I I just think they're mutually exclusive I I I think it's the wrong road for Pete to travel down I I think you you you you go to the commissioner and say I reconstructed my life I'm sorry I'm ready to come out and do whatever it takes that's the meeting I think you take here is Matt in Burlington Matt you're on the air you go right ahead wanted to weigh in on the Pete rose for maybe another angle right so he'd be banned from betting on baseball because somebody is involved in the game has influence over the outcome of the game is why you can't that correct so he wouldn't even come out there that they have never officially show many of that so what if you go to approach this under that this is a question you can answer what if you put that away the actors did what they did it was a clear advantage and this will give batters the opportunity to back on those games sufficient games they're fun it might not be something the organization could be somebody that knows somebody an organization but that gambling aspect could still be there then approach that you know in the in the meeting that you may or may not get he brings out yeah I mean that's it's an interesting taken thanks Matt for the call I just a the problem that that that with that argument is there is a straight line between Pete rose and gambling its point a to point B. you would have to and maybe they do have the evidence and maybe this is part of what is game plan as you would have to have evidence that what the Astros did lead straight to some sort of gambling that benefited the players involved if you've got that then you've got something that rose may have an argument with but my guess is if they had that then those players would have been disciplined and not just the general manager and the manager of the team and and that's put peach problem is a straight line between what Pete did and gambling slips I can't believe we're still talking about this thirteen have years down the road but here it is all right straight ahead the trump administration and the the GOP are asking the Supreme Court to hold off on deciding obamacare is fate why so why now and we're is health care I couldn't figure it out last night watching those seven people stand up there and flap their gums about it maybe you can maybe you can but we'll get into it next on seven hundred WLW traffic and weather news radio seven hundred W. Did cheating help Astros win World Series? Hinch says we may never know
"Aj hinch and the interview. He did finally breaking his silence of the disgraced astros manager who was fired in the wake of the breaking story in major league. Next glad you said that the ask the disgraced astros manager he was not. There's nothing else to call him. He's a disgrace Astros manager He was caught up up in the science. Dealing Scandal of the Astros didn't do enough to stop it and the first thing rob Manfred did was announced his suspension for Major League Baseball and then a couple allows later. The Astros fired him. You mentioned the interview he did. It's going to air tonight. And he was asked. Does this championship that you wanted. Twenty Lee seventeen. Is it tainted by this new scandal. Unfortunately we open that door as a group in that question I may never be answered. We may never know we're going to have to live and move forward and be be better better in the sport but unfortunately no one can really answer. Threw that question. I I can't pinpoint what advantages or what what happened. Or what. Exactly what happened otherwise but we did it to ourselves. Okay wait I can answer. It had had a lot to do. Look at the home road. Splits of all your headers like Jose Altuve. Have you see our relay race. Home and road splits dislike. It's like four twenty at home one twenty on the road and you remember if correctly that was when they remember lost the Games in New York to the Yankees remember the laws and then at home the they won all games. I mean it was an if I'm a dodger fan. I'm salty as well 2017. MLB CHAMPION DOC. There are two parades coming twenty seventeen and twenty eighteen and then back to back. Alex Cora takes that same show on the road and same thing. I I asked we. We know of this movie Bets trae goes through. You know as as Alex Cora cheated to be named later. Is that a part of the look at you know. I think that was the penalty. Not was the red sox train. mookie Betts to the padres and they said No. No you gotta make amends and trading with the dodgers all right shoulder dodger you owe the dodgers at Aj Aj hinch clearly is in that mode all of us do this in our lives. Whenever something bad happens did the interview though he could he could run and hide for year and not be heard from? I think it's better when you get out in front of it. But is he getting out in front of my saying. I don't know what kind of impact this had. Clearly when you're batters know what's it's coming. It's a lot easier when you go to that length of we're putting in electronic sign stealing system and you play the. I'm only the manager card. I couldn't stop this. No one believes please. You know either. The point where he's at the point in his life and all of us do this right when something happens in our lives. It's bad that we're responsible for. What do we try to do at some point? We try rationalize why it happened. And it's not really our fault. Aj hinch is at this point where who knows what he's GonNa do in baseball again. He's going to manage again. Maybe a couple years somewhere where. I'm not quite sure that he's at that point. where I need to reconcile with myself because I am a world series champion and I'm not going to walk around every day going it was tainted? So I'm I'm GonNa convince myself that I don't know what kind of impact this had altuve as still had to hit the baseball even though he knew what was the old PD argument. So He's in that point of denial. where I'm going is still WANNA walk around and not just feel crappy every day that we won and we won by cheating? So I'm GonNa convince myself that I don't know what we we did. Any act on the game only problem is I get it if you told me that one every game at home then win every game at home even with the cheating scandal. Whoa with knowing what's coming? So that's the part that makes it hard that's why you can't go automatically and say well we should just turn championship over to the dodgers not that the dodgers. aww their fans would want it that way but they didn't win every game using that cheating system so okay so they won three quarters of their. But I'm just saying when eighty percent of they're games that that's the only reason and this could have It doesn't mean that Wa. The team couldn't have beaten them at some point. All I'm saying is I get it cheating. Cheating it helps them. I'm not denying that but it's a reason why you can't take the championship and I don't think that that will work for majorly based on you can easily take like the championship. And you can not awarded to anybody. Say No year but Rob Manfred and look rob Manfred and Adam. Silver are two of the new age commissioners which they they WANNA do nothing they want to do nothing but in grow the game and have great reputations right Adam silver wants to do a little bit less than Rob Manfred but rob Manfred I guarantee aren t you. He thought I'm taking care of this. Here's a suspension for hinch. Here's bench for Jeff Luna. I'm taking care of it and instead what happened. Was it mushroomed out of control to the point. Where an hour an hour after this broke? What was the biggest topic online? Put Pete Rose in the hall of fame. 'cause you're not taking care cheaters enough. This got completely out of control because Manfred doesn't WanNa be the guy where the first line of his wikipedia pages rob Manfred who presided over. MLB taking a world series away from a team for the first time Blah Blah Blah. Aw that would be his legacy. He wasn't going to do it he wasn't going to be the guy to say you're going to look back at my my rain and it's GonNa be pace of play but mainly it's going to be. He took look world series away. He presided over a dark time in major league baseball. He wasn't going to be that guy. I'm not gonNA wear it so I'm GonNa have this suspension and then whatever happens after it gets out of my control and I don't care that's why he didn't do anything. Yeah I I just I never been into it. Even college used to do it and the Olympics and taken away medals and stuff that we watched watched to tell me that Reggie Bush wasn't the heisman trophy winner. You know you could tell me that all you want but I watched that season. Do you know what I mean. So I'm not fully the Internet. I don't think that changes anything. That doesn't take their memory away from me. I think you've just got a penalize the organization but I I'm not into taking championships

"Rb Computing Web bowl for today at Jimmy? Jam Should Pete Rose be reinstated. Now Pete Rose is filed for reinstatement statement to Major League baseball because of the handling of the Astros signed stealing scandal is that opened the door pete rose to be reinstated and thus be considered for the hall of fame. Does it change anything at all. Basically Pete Rose's stepping up today and saying to Major League Baseball. Hey Hey you're not banning them for life. Why am I banned for life right right so you know? Maybe the guy doesn't have a point I guess. But here's the thing with Pete rose it has been so long now and so much in the news about this every year it comes up every year at some point in the year it comes up about Pete Rose Somehow someway a you know someone breaks a record or his base stealing deal or whatever and it always comes up and everyone says the same thing. No No. You're not getting in if they put him in. Now though. Steve if you were Pete rose would you really want to be put in there now and and so he gets put in this year and and then everyone who walks through the hall of fame. Everyone's GonNa Walk to but let me tell you about. PM Rolls Okay. His He needs an open heroes. Okay so I say if I don't WanNa go in there. I think the reason it won't happen. Is that think about it for a SEC. Pete rose is asking for. Reinstatement the Major League Baseball. And he's basically saying that because of Major League Baseball's dumb decision to not ban all the Houston Houston Astros for life. The way they did. Pete rose therefore I should not be banned for life. Or you're asking Major League baseball to do. There is admit that the astro punishment I was dumb. Major League. Baseball is GONNA do that like if Pete Rose has any hope of this. Don't deal with Major League Baseball. The only way he can get this done I think a court of law. Yeah well maybe on the other hand you know the guy has a point guys appoint. I just don't think Major League Baseball is gonNA listen to it. Well there's certainly going to do it right away. That's for sure. But someone's GonNa come in you know what we've got an issue here. I will say this I think Pete rose. I'm definitely understanding why he's doing doing this. I just don't think you'll have any legs stand on with Major League Baseball. Yeah and and Pete. Rose's infraction was betting on sports betting on baseball. All and to me that leaves open a whole massive can of worms. That's that to me is worse than cheating. I think so too. cheaters are trying to win. That's right that's the that's the deal I've always had with Pete. Rose it goes. Well I bet I only bet on our team did you really. Did you really. Who knows right and it doesn't matter either? The only way that that would have any legs is if he bet on his team every single game of his managerial career. Otherwise what are you telling the betting community dirty on the days. You don't bet on your team even if you're betting on your own team to win by twenty runs I every single time it's still the optics are horrible. And you can't have it. And and every major sport has to clamp down on it and throw the book at Major League Baseball did regardless of what happened with the Houston Astros and regardless of what. The decision was in the punishment. I don't blame baseball for keeping their heels dug in So some of the feedback we got on this poll meltdown. Radio Radio Meltdowns. CKC You Charlie. Hustle is eight dollar haircut. They belong in Cooperstown set. Says it's a bad haircut Well it's not hair. Jim Set writes yes. Do you want to elaborate on that at all Jim bus driver Bruce Russillo one writes yeah. It's been long enough but do it with an asterisk just like the steroid guys put them all in be done with it. Aroma bean rights rose should be in the hall with a big asterisk beside his name for why he's banned from baseball the MLB screwed up the chance to send a message to all the cheaters. Their punishment of the Astros rose is a joke. Their championship should be voided and have asterisks everywhere. He likes the asterisks. You can't do that if you start doing that. Steve is like Jim Jerome in the hall of fame although he was four hundred home run home run shy and a bunch of wins short of it. So we'll put a little star beside him but we're GONNA put them in villains. Just put it in a house of villains at the hall and then just be like should we go in there. Oh kids away from come away from there while he probably the most popular popular place at Cooperstown if you had a hall of villains or how civilians whatever hockey lobster rights put them in the hall already snipe and Chirp if the Astros can keep their championships ships. I don't see how they cannot reinstate him and Sean Blackburn writes he needs to be in the hall. Rose is a great story in the Major League Baseball history straight. Thank you for all your feedback today. Ladies and gentlemen but will the Astros get to keep their championship. We don't know yet. Thank roses thing is have been no players who've been banned for life out of this whole thing even though they've been some really really guilty party us again. I really do you want to go in now. "Is if a guy's been injured like Aaron judge who almost was voted as a starter. He hasn't played enough, you know to be an all-star starter probably on the team. But yeah, I don't think it should be like. It was when we were kids when Pete Rose could be forty three years old and still getting voted in. But I think what you've done in your career should weigh in to some extent, Josh. No, it should weigh into some extent. And like I said yesterday all things being equal. Yet, give the nod to the guy with the better back of the baseball cards, so to speak. But if somebody's just having a monster first half even if they're a relative, quote unquote, no-name. Hey, if they have the numbers to be worthy of an all star selection, then they have the numbers to be worthy in about an all star selection. Yeah. One of the, the choices I think that you follow through in this. I just saw a rough draft of your nationally choices and one of them that interested me was that I would not have made Bryce Harper. I think that's right. You had one of your reserves. Yeah. I did try member. Why picked them because I know I had, you know Anthony. Scillies phillies. He's on that on the nationals anymore was he my only Phillies ref. Maybe that's why put him on. He may. Yeah, I struggled, I gotta tell you 'cause I wind up putting Hoskins as Philly Representative Andrew mccutchen, probably would've even been healthy, given how he's playing but it was hard to come up with the Phillies guy. Yeah. Yeah. You're right. Harper was mainly field. I think you could make an argument for for GT rail Muto other than, you know. Yes. Many Grondahl and Molson contraire are having really good years. So they were my two catchers. Yeah, you're right. Boy, it'll be interesting to see who makes it for the Phillies Hoskins. There's a lot of first baseman heaven great year. So let's be tough to put him in there. Maybe real Muto makes it as a third catcher if they want to carry Jerry three of those guys, one of the guys that I wanted to see on my team. I still hope on the all star team because of the stature is rising young player for Nanno TAT's junior and not all the numbers back him up. But he's an exciting player, he's going to be a storm moving forward and I'd love to see him in the all star game. Yeah. I would too I didn't have him on my team. I think he was kind of, like my final cut, but look the triple slash line is unbelievable. Obviously, he missed the thirty five games or so with the injury. But this guy he is unbelievable. His defense is to me, it looks like it's gold glove Calabro, not say he's going to win it, but it's that good that play the other day when he scored on the infield pop up from third base as one of the most exciting plays of the year. This kid lad junior had all the hype coming into the year this kids better than Vlad junior. It's gonna be fun watching it for years to come. And again, I hope one way or somehow some way he winds up at the all star game in Cleveland. Alright Dave, thanks for doing this. All right guys enjoy the rest of your life. Josh? Thanks. We'll be in touch high BUSTER, only here and my friends at marathon or really helping you save. Because right now you can get five cents off every gallon.

"Have a beer day by late in the hour in the meanwhile we got allowed to do that last week. Pete Rose was interviewed. I forget where and he was having a problem with Brian Kilmeade, Johnny bench. He's somehow that he invents get along. But Johnny bench's always jealous of Pete, because the fact that Pete was from here, meant, Johnny bench was never gonna be as beloved as Pete, even though as far as I can recall. He always was at least as beloved as Pete. So the back and forth thing, I don't know if he's at seventy eight starting to slow down mentally a little bit. But the latest is he's being interviewed here on Sirius XM. I saw this yesterday. And. The gist of the question was, what, what bothers you the most. What do you miss the most you miss the fact you won't be in the hall of fame? Miss the fact you won't be in the broadcast booth. The amiss the fact that you can't manage whatever. And this is what pizza actually bothers him the most. You know what Chris said. His father's you most of all, here's what here's what bothers me. I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio, void nineteen years for Cincinnati Reds. I got every record that the reds have they play on Pete Rose way today. Okay. They play on Pete Rose way today. I have never been in the clubhouse or the batting cage at the new ballpark. I'm not allowed figure that one out. You're going to tell me that I can't help some young Cincinnati red player by work on him into batting cage so that bothers you more than it, does it does. It really does did demeaning. Here's why does because in the last four years. They had Pete Rose bobblehead nights sold out. They had Pete Rose hall of fame sold out. They had Pete Rose number retirement sold out. They had people Pete Rose's jersey retirement sold out. So when they needed me to sell the stadium they need you, then sold out. I'm allowed on the field other than not I even had a pay to watch my son planned, it would assist that read, I wouldn't know how to go onto pacifist what am I John Dillinger here? That's the question. The thing is these aren't the reds restrictions. The reds had to appeal to major league baseball to let him do as much as he could do. The reds aren't keeping them out of a batting cage. The reds are keeping about of the clubhouse. I mean I don't think he's allowed at any other on anybody other any other field in baseball. But the reds on those occasions where they specifically ask to be excused from the rule. So the peat can be there on a given night. And the other thing is I don't. No, this for vac, but I refuse to believe that he showed up for those four sellouts for free. I'm sure that it was a paid appearance for pizza have his jersey retired. It has to be just be John Dillinger here. Just because he is the kind of guy he is. I don't believe each up for free and he shouldn't you're going to sell out stadium to celebrate his accomplishments. He should be paid. But the thing that was the one I forget what the occasion was, but he was at reds fest and he stood like a statue. He didn't acknowledge anyone's existence as they walk. They said something to them. You look, straight ahead, and he looked bitter, and I knew a well enough to say Hello. I mean it's been years, but I'd seen run station he knew my name, and I had something getting signed for my daughter, and I got up eight. Pete. I been straight ahead straight ahead and every person after he wouldn't talk to one human being when they came up I mean, I don't think he blinked there was something he was a statue. He really was. But I don't know what he's so bitter about regarding the reds. Yeah. They make some money when they sell the place out. And I'm sure they pay him to be there when I'm sure he was getting paid that. Day to be bitter. And he was. So I don't know. Yeah. He could probably help some red sitters, and I'm sure some red suit would would listen to Pete Rose has to say, and so would hitters on any other team. But it's not the reds fault. All right. What else we got? We're talking about Dylan's you're here. That's the question DUI checkpoints talking to Bryant to DUI checkpoints tonight. One is Marymount ones in Hamilton. And I thought, well, first of all, people ask you, why are you telling people where they are because you're supposed to these cases, went to court years ago, and it was determined that if the police publicize where the checkpoints are going to be through the media is long as they were publicized, it would then be taken that you went there voluntarily, so it doesn't make it an illegal search or whatever, because you whether you heard it or not, whether you had the radio on whether you had read the paper, whether you were online, it doesn't matter if you didn't see it, as long as it was publicized legally. It is seen that you went through the checkpoint voluntarily. Now, the other wrinkle in this I thought. Based on the law that when you got to DUI checkpoint that you were allowed to leave and go away. I thought there had to be like a street Rica, turn off and going to different different direction. And I think what I think if you do that, they have cops who will follow you. If you tried to avoid the DUI checkpoint, now you might want to avoid the DUI checkpoint, just based on the fact that you're like a constitutional kind of person, and I don't think I should be stopped and questioned on the road. But if you do that, you'll be you'll be questioned. Now, the question is can you do a u turn if there's nowhere else to turn off? No sidestreets. Can you do a u-turn a DUI checkpoint? Well, turns out says police try to set up the UI checkpoints where you turns are not allowed. Because it would give them a reason to come after you, if you do which kind of flaunts, the whole idea of you, having the option to not go through the checkpoint. So the question here is a look it up online. It's an attorney answering the question is can you turn around the DUI checkpoint? The answer is, if you can turn around legally, you're within your rights to turn around the police, generally can only pull you over, if they have a reasonable suspicion to believe, committed a traffic offence, or some other criminal act, they say in the city of Columbus, for example, u-turns are generally prohibited unless specifically permitted by a sign so making illegal u-turn will be a traffic violation, and they can come after you most VI checkpoints conveniently located in places that don't allow you turns where it's difficult to turn around legally to avoid the checkpoint. I've never been through one. I don't know if anybody's been through one and tried to turn around and I don't have time for this. I'm not going there or you had something to drink. You don't want to go through it. I mean do do they chase you? If you turn down the sidestreet because some places, I mean of read like they'll have one on seven forty seven. There are lots of. Parking lots businesses long. Seven forty seven I would think if you don't want to go through a checkpoint, you could pull into a parking lot around there. Come back out, turn left or right. Or whatever and go in the opposite direction. Right. But I think if you do that they come after you or at least follow you and get your maybe trumped up offense. I don't know because I haven't been through one. But if you have just kind of curious five one three seven nine seven thousand one person check in via Email, who said they went through ones that I've been through one, because Brian, he via thought they might stop every third car fifth car. Whatever. No, they stuff every car asked if you've been drinking, and if your eyes or response think you have they pull you out of the herd and interrogator, further, and they, they're very expensive to put on with lots of cops on overtime, a lot of times, it's like a grant from the state or the feds or something to sit those checkpoints up. And yeah, they tend to when the weather's nice too many DUI checkpoints in January. All right. Speaking of traffic,.
When you think of Ichiro's career you think hits and steals, but don't forget about his incredible arm
"You've heard Ichiro reported his he's going to retire after this game today that they're playing this morning in Japan. Now, he has three thousand hits I did some research. Thirty two players have three thousand hits twenty-seven have five hundred home runs. If you're a player, which which feet would you rather achieve five hundred home runs or three thousand hits in today's game. Five hundred home runs. Three thousand hits is nice. But I don't know if people really look at that is that's an incredible it is an incredible feat. I don't know of today's baseball generation looks at that and says boy he had ten consecutive seasons of two hundred hits or more along with Pete Rose. You also stole five hundred basis. I don't think that we look at though, they're not glamour numbers anymore stolen, bases hits. And it used to be. But now, I think it would be home runs. If I could have five hundred home runs as opposed to three thousand hits today twenty years ago. I'm taking the three thousand hits factor in sabermetrics with that opinion because obviously on base percentage has become in some people's mind more important than batting average. You remind me of sabermetrics, I never think of sabermetrics the game. I mean, I don't know if it changed it in a good way. I think there's so many stance with baseball that you're you're you're drunk with stats. You drowned in those stats homerun, very simple. There's nothing to factor in with that. It's just you hit a home run. What if back in the day, they decided to walk counts for a hit which would have been very reasonable. Measure, in fact, probably more reasonable than not counting for. I don't know why they decided not if they did that then you would look at Adam Dunn is I'm sorry. The former White Sox slugger as as valuables in each row. It was just a random decision statistically, not to count walks. Yeah. I mean, you count points for free throws on base percentage. I know that that's a big deal. But it makes you well you keep saying Adam Dunn. One of the great players because I look at on base percentage. I just think a guy who strikes out one hundred eighty times to two hundred times in a season. You're not even putting the ball into play. How can that guy? Be that valuable. Okay. He walks hits home runs or strikes out. That's not somebody. I wanted my lineup. Yeah. Paulie? He didn't really have a great base percentage. No. He did. He did not walk a lot. We do. We ran the numbers a little bit each came into the league at twenty seven. And he was he won MVP as a rookie and rookie of the year. If he would come in just two seasons earlier at twenty-five with how good he was you could tack on another almost five hundred hits he'd be sixth all-time he'd be over thirty five hundred hits. If he just came in at age twenty five twenty seven. Yeah. Now, he's a great player didn't win. Anything was baseball. You can be selfish in a team sport. Because it's you at the plate. Now, there are other mitigating factors in there. But still you go to the plate. It's just you. And he's playing in right field. He was very good outfielder. Great arm. I don't know how many Gold Gloves, but he won a few Gold Gloves out there, but three thousand hits five hundred stolen bases in first. Ballot hall of Famer he came into the league with the Seattle. Mariners magin if he would've came into the league with the New York Yankees with how he came out of the gate. Oh, one through nine. He was through two thousand ten all star every year top twenty MVP every year. Imagine if you did all that with the Yankees where he'd be looked at

Pete rouse officially opening snowboarding spring training today. Love really. Yeah. Man, very excited about that. And so he's he's kind of gained a little bit of stature back. He's gotten a bit of his reputation back after all these years by simply staying out of the limelight. Well, I mean, he's idolized by many people mad at him. But he'll always be the hit king. Hey, steve. I'm so sorry for the wait. Oh, I don't mind. I look out boys. They've got a licensed to fly that county pulled over. Yeah. Man. Hot rod Lincoln, marry me. Yeah. Sitting on the sidelines on the bench. Oh, by the way, look up at the scoreboard. I've been traded. Oh, really where am I going? Now. Now, we heard Kevin Durant. You know? See there's there's a way to to if you're going to go after the media is a certain way to do it. 'cause you gotta come. You. Gotta come hard all the way back in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine is a little example. There's three quarterback this ball, which everyone starts starts, which everyone's don't back them up. Cut and dried. It's nobody's concerned. But ours, nobody's next. Injuries from talk to the trainer next. All right. Such a bad mood. What do you care? Okay. Two and seven you'd be in a bad mood too. That with the one and only Mike did. That's what. Durant was like what are you know? You gotta be like, what are you care, the female? Oh. Talk to you. Your questions. Are you kidding? That's the that's the best. Oh, man. That's anger. I told you they if they got a good relationship in that locker room. No joke every all day long at practice today. The only thing I'm going to say the Durant. Every time. He throws a pass their grow up. Mrs. I think you know. Draymond green is his thinking of stuff right now. I said I'll tell you guys that I played ball with that. There have been a Biki on your on your chair growing. So pampers little. Oh, good Lord. Unfortunately, I don't think he can handle that. And I don't think they want to anger him because they want to keep them. So I don't think any of that stuff happened which is a shame. Yeah. This is a joke. It off have fun with it. But I don't think he's. But maybe he is behind the scenes, we're not seeing that guy. That's not the guy that comes out to the forefront. Not the guy that has burners. That's worried about everything that's said about him. We're not seeing it if that's the case. Yeah. It's. He's gonna come here. Okay. Telemedia layoff grow tone. Well, no, no, no. I just want to do my job and go home. No. Asking me, man. I ask you to ask me. You grow. Let's go to Ray Ray, you're on the fan. Hey, Tony how you doing? I'm doing well. Didn't listen to you a longtime, man? Great job. Thank you. In fact, I should live. The rash. Listen, check through your job. Just mumble don't say anything. That's right. That's right. Listen baseball. I loved the game. Why they want to mess with it? You wanna cut it shorter? They're all fat cats. Got a minute offer advertising though every half inning. Can't do that. The fat cats. They want their money. They screwed the game up. Screw it up. Can you explain to me? The logic of lowering the mound. Not at all. I can't. Six hundred sixty eight when they raise them out about Dominic. Gibson was no sixty eight they lowered them asked the sixty eight they loaded after Gibson and. Gets. It went nuts. Right. Dot com. Yeah. It's just. Crazy think it's I'm trying to somebody. I'm sure today, there'll be something in the story widely lowering them out what what are they what are? We know. What are they don't? We don't know that make I don't think it's gonna make the pitches better. If it's gonna make their pitchers better. They raise the mound back up. But then, you know, you don't want somebody with a one point one year reign onto you go to Eric in Ronkonkoma Eric here on the fan. Hey, doing Tony. All right, man. How are you? Good good. Listen, you know, so just to talk about some of these baseball ideas here. If they if they do decide to institute, a universal D H. They might as well just realign the all, you know, all the teams that you have it like hockey whiz. I used against west or basketball. What what what what would be the difference in between the two leagues wouldn't be any. That's true. Very true. Right. I think they do it. They would do it. But if you instituted that into. Oh, yeah. And then we're going to realign everything it's I think that's too much right off the bat shock the system to a lot of a lot of people who used it the way it is. Yeah. Well, I mean, I'm not sure that would ever happen in tandem on it. You know? I mean, one would probably follow the other. But in all reality is probably what would make the most sensitive. I mean, first of all, you know, because then you can have a lot more matchups that you wouldn't normally have you wouldn't you wouldn't need to Lee. Michael. And I were talking about a couple of hours ago. I mean, so then you can have the, you know. Yankees. Boston Mets Phillies Atlanta. Maybe you know, you can you can figure out a way to take the AL and the NL lease and just combine them into one. You know, one big division if you will. Right, right. Yeah. And then you just have to kind of figure out like, I guess, the the central part of it, you know, which ones are closer to what side. You know? As far as being in the east to the west there. But you know, but but yeah. And then the and then who knows maybe even that might make for. I'm not sure about how the playoff part of it would work, you know. But you know, but you certainly would have more of an east west, hyper scenario, you know. Yeah. So I I don't know. But it just doesn't. I mean to me. That's what makes the two least, you know, unique to each other is the D H. I mean. But before they instituted the DA's, nobody had it. So, you know, you know, why why after you know, forty years now of one having a yellow I think to do it just keep it all similar. I mean, it's it's you know, it'd be like saying that, you know, in the NBA, well, we have the three point shot in the east, but we don't have it on the west. And you know, it's it's. I'm not a bad potentially. I mean, go. Go ahead. Sam this I prefer to be no D H. But I'm a realist. And I know that's getting rid of the jobs. And and is it seems like more jobs for the players and associations. So it's coming. It's coming right. And how does that change the strategy of the game? Also, just now you don't have the I mean, I know nobody knows how to bunt anymore anyway. So I mean, you really not losing that aspect of it. But but still I mean, you you do have some pictures that you know, how to hit. I mean, I can't imagine that you know, guys like Syndergaard or mantle or some other pitchers. I might not be aware of who can hit pretty well, but you know, probably wouldn't be overly thrilled with the idea. Absolutely look forward to it. But the other thing is all you needed some big name pitcher to get hurt running the bases again. Or, you know, take takes a fastball off a forearm. And he's out for a while. They're trying to protect their investment. I just I I don't know. Just what I noticed that in even in in high school baseball kids that I coach when they you know, they pitched in and with the best hitter on the team and they get to high school in. There are pictures. Like, no, you're not hitting anymore. You just concentrating on being a pitcher. And they never they never met again. Right. Right. Yeah. I guess that's the way it's going. But like you said as far as the mound. I mean, I I can't see why they would I mean unless they can pull out like, you know. Real specific stats on there that it would help save, you know, body parts. I don't know. But I don't know. We'll we'll see what I definitely did. You know, we talked about the pitch clock. They definitely need that. Three three that too. Yeah. So, but I mean, yeah. So you got you got a couple of good ones. A couple of if he I don't know. We'll see what happens. I mean. When did vote on this stuff. They said him exact date, but just saying they may instituted this season. For this year. Yeah. That'd be interesting. Yeah. All right. Well, we'll see what happens. I mean. Even then we still got a couple of people still not signed yet, though. Yeah. Yeah. So it's it's going to be an interesting month and a half. I think so you have a good rest of the night going, right, man. I said yesterday I wonder if we'll have any movement on those two guys not yet Calvin and Benson Hurst, Calvin what's going on. Tony Kallenbach next. I just want to ask you a question. You just broke the point about the kid pitching. But let's say Pete Rose. Five to craze. Right. Yeah. Why are we listening to pay people more? If you do something when you're a kid what level sports blame if your little brother walked up we're playing with. He's a good handle. We had a big guy. Six five. He likes to shoot will attack. We're taking a little brother 'cause you can handle. You take what you need. And why is they say the media year? I don't think people who's never played sports should be telling people who've seen anything about anything. They can ask questions. That's like me telling you about terrorism. Oh, no, no, no, no damn term. Why? They're both ways like the rest of the football goof up the last ten years every other play. Okay. That'd be able to gain is eight. They don't want to talk to the media talk to the league away. Why is it a double standard? And I'm only asking. I'm gonna ask you hang up the phone. I get pictures back data that was a great hit. And then he gets a college. Whatever he gonna take. No, more coaches teach them today to the best things that they can do. Well, it was like. Oh, playing even five to ten to where you know. It is now it's not even you know, if you're a designated hitter five to run field hit hit with fire and throw now is just hit and hit with power because they're not running. You're not feeling throwing anymore. So is it so. Oh, the standards for a for a. Designated hitter. It's just a three to player you're looking for the guy can hit. Now, I'm sorry to Tutu player. Gary can hit guy hit for for power. Maybe the third thing is average. Maybe it'll this make average just for him, but hitting is supposed to be average anyway. But then again guys almost to strike out a lot. Let's go to Chris in the rest of the question. He was asking me. You watch the games long enough. You understand it because you'll be talking. You know, if you you lucky enough in the coach talks to you. Whether it's Riley or Popovich, and and they they. Understand you have a knowledge of the game. They'll discuss the game with you. And then you you pass that on and you'll ask the players questions. But see that's part of the part of the goal part of the deal. You know, you you wanna be a pro when you get to the pros that people are gonna ask you questions about everything. Read the story online about about Durant and everything he said, and then he went to Steph curry, and they get his reactions and stuff, and you know, that's that's what you do. Everybody. If they're not gonna carries carries got no beef. I talked to anybody. Yes. We question. I'll talk to you. I'm not gonna say, well, I'm not going to answer because you're talking to to to rent hill. He's a he's a the pulse of the team. Let's go to Chris in Manhattan. Chris you're on the fan. Hey, Tony, thanks for taking my call to what's going on. A couple of points. Question is actually what the people I'm kind of familiar with this. The reason why they wanna lower the amount. This is my theory by I'll play baseball. The average pitcher is like two hundred pounds about six six three. Breaking pitch. It reeks at.

It's on FOX basketball. I listen, I agree that when when that song hits year thinking it's going to be Michael Jordan, first-half viewing. Yeah. Fly after Kim. I wonder Butler versus Xavier. Bet enough. No, no. I don't. Oh sports. I used to I usually have had so. We used to gamble with Pete Rose. I used his booking. Yes. That's the story. I knew I'd get you there. So when the whole Pete Rose things, I I knew his bookie. It wasn't one of those. Do you think? No. I know. I know I I know. Yeah. We we both lost. But my bookie would tell me that, you know, Pete bet on everything. And then, you know, so when this happened when this story broke, I call my bookie who my former bookie because I stopped betting. And I said, what can you tell me said no name and his name never came out never came out in all of this. And so I said, what do you know? What do you got on Pete? And he says I well, I can I can tell you some of the stuff that he bet on. And he started telling me I said did he bet on the reds? And he said he bet on games with the reds. And I said did he bet against the reds? And he said, I don't wanna I don't wanna say that. So then the I don't want to sell mardi. Yes. Yes. So then years later, I have him on the show and pizza. I bet on the reds every night to win. It never come out before. And he says I bet on. The reds every night to win. So even if you bet on your team that you're managing you can still manipulate a lineup. Of course, I can bring in John Franko, John arms tired. But I'd rather you came in. Then this guy or starting? There was one starting pitcher that he didn't bet on his told. Okay. He wouldn't bet on his own pit, right? Right. Or you could just say we're going to gas out the bullpen. Yeah. I won't bet. Yes. Right. So yeah, I did vet through the same guys that Pete. It will be interesting to see how major league baseball response to embracing gambling and embracing the legalization of gambling while still pushing Pete Rose away. Well, it's like marijuana laws right now, all of a sudden, you gotta vacate a lot of these sentences because what are you in for marijuana? Right. It's legal now. Yes. In food trucks. Right. And in states where guys are playing in marijuana's legal. I mean why although the NFL's drug testing, it's really just a stupidity test..
