"Pete McMurray in the Skyline Studios, Michael Canali has long been regarded as one of the best colorists in Hollywood best known for being Jennifer Aniston's colors since the beginning of her career on friends, and Michael is in studio with us Now it's good to see you. No, thank you, Pete. Thanks for having me. I can't believe you're in Chicago. What's going on? Why are you here? You have clients? Yeah. We reopen Chicago and were served a busy day tomorrow, Okay? And then we go back to l A. And then we're getting ready to open up New York again and some other locations. Just getting the system going again. We got to know you during the pandemic, right? When we first talked to you, we had you on a few times and you told everyone listening. Do not color your own hair. People did not take your advice. I know we're fixing a lot of people right now. You are. Yeah, There's a lot of new client is coming in, just repair their hair colors. But like I said, you know, just trying to maintain it between you know, senior hairdresser and seeing them again with, you know, cover ups and You know things that prolonged the hair color so we don't have to read. Reboot how many people called Yue during the pandemic and said, Michael, I got to come to your house that we sent out kids, So I sent out a lot of like, over 300 kids. 300 kids to your clients. You re a lot of them. Got two and three of them. You know who knew how long this was gonna last? Wow. So So if Jennifer Aniston did she call you up and you get that on a face time, So Christmas Seals went in, and we did. There's straight vote. She calls you and says, my grades coming in. You need to send me a kid. So you send her a kit and the hairdresser, So she faced times you and does her own hair. I'd actually Chris Chris McMellon. Okay. Chris does the cut. Why's he doing the color? Why didn't you go? You know it's just safer that way. Hey, It's like I chose not to be so one on one with people. Okay, good for you. So you wanted to sit back a little bit? Yeah. Sit back and direct and just do my own production. Okay? Did you see any people or did you lay low way laid low, But we did make kits and I did see a few on the sideline, You know, Backdoor. Speakeasy shower, which was totally we call it Chicago style. Definitely Chicago stop and you know, a lot of people just needed to be kept up and I knew them very well. You know, I worked with a lot of medical worlds. And so I had that group and just people, The ones that look good, and I sent them can't suddenly said what was in the kids Tell me about the kid. The kid had basically their color formulas how to mix, So we had the activated their color. Everybody is covering their gray. I had the actual formulas for them. So we sent them out. Okay? Yeah, and had our new gloss in. There's that prolongs the hair color and, you know, it just keeps it going. We also made special conditioners for people to keep up their hair deep conditioners in the cannoli brain conditioners, So we did all samples of my products. And we gave them the nuke losses that are really amazing and prolong hair color, so that that was really cool. I've been married almost 20 years. It'll be 20 years in August, so I understand how important it is to know your number for women. Exactly. So you have everybody's number. You're like the mad scientist. So they call you up and say, Michael, I need my number and I need the color. Right. So basically, we did on ly kits for my clientele, And then we started expanding. People were allowed to send their pictures to me. And then I built their kits. Okay for what I could see, And then we sent him out, and they're now clients of ours. So it's like it's pretty cool. Wow. So it's like a marketing thing. In a way, it just expanded my my world Smart Michael Canali in studio with us, So you have a place in L. A Yeah, we have exactly six locations in California. So I have 31 in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Pacific Palisades again. Comolli Martinez is my cousin. So we have those together and we work together as a team, and then I have Newport Beach Rancho Santa Fe, which is nearer San Diego, North County. San Francisco. Wow, you're loaded. Oh, yeah. Then they expand. Then it goes East. Then it goes Dallas Chicago Washington, D. C, which have been doing for 40 years, almost 40 form here and New York. So I've been in New York with a big presence there. Where's your place in Chicago? Chicago. We're at Bentley. Bentley hair. It's over on hope. Okay? Yeah. Course you're on Oak Street. Yeah, Yeah. Lovely places. Yeah. Been there for you know, like three years. They opened three years ago. And they're just a great place to maintain. You know your hair, The people they're lovely, right will take me back to when you became very popular in Hollywood, and you met Jennifer Aniston actually started in pretty much the eighties. It started with just doing some of the big actresses in that time zone. You know, like three's company off the shows like Taxi and merrily Henner from that world. I love Mary Lou. Hey. All right, so tell me, she's great. She's great. She's been on a few times. He just seemed so happy and just, you know, she's Very relaxed in her own skin. Yeah, definitely a good girl, and then we move forward and you know, into the later eighties, and then you know, just more of the TV shows. Okay, we're going on and then sitcoms Change went from Mary Tyler Moore to friends. So more slapstick back backyard humor right? Instead of the sophisticated Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, you know that type of comedy? Sure how it's just, you know, just fun. Wanna laughable. So friends became popular like 95. I did the first pilot for it. I met Jennifer Anistan. They call you Does the studio call you and say, Michael, we got you got to do Courtney Cox's hair. Jennifer Aniston. Sarah. How does that work works by referral, So I'm considered the one to go to, especially in that era. Like the one with the highest ranked. Really? Yeah. So Chris and I started working together than okay. And Chris did the cut. Yeah. He did the styling and cuts and made the look so I'm working together with them is always been a great time. How does he come up with the Rachel? How did you come up with that thing? Just, you know, Wait, get this great girl coming in, you know, medium length hair and just medium to dark brown. So I lightened it up. Then he cut at then we looked at And that's when we did. The Sig signature streaks have made it so popular, right?.

"Pete McMurray and Paro Condom back here tomorrow will be here on Monday took the week off for some vacation getting messages. You can follow me on social media at Pete McMurray. 123456 They just got six during commercials about people cutting knives. I was cutting dates in a fruitcake. I was cutting tomatoes, man, You gotta be careful with knives. That's a huge injury. Especially over the holidays. When you go to the emergency room on a holiday weekend, terrible the Cubs Jose Quintana cut his thumb hit a nerve had to have surgery in five stitches. This is not his throwing hand. It is his left hand, but still what's the dumbest home injury? That's happened to you, Ruth. How about you? Hey, there, though. This was a long time ago, and my parents were on vacation, and I offered to go and water their lawn while they were bond and Patty Pippen had a house across the street from my phone, and I had an operating hold in my hand. And of course, I want to see all these bulls play basketball, so I walked across the lawn and they had a tree removed. Nice. In the hole and fell stroke My angles and though then all these bulls for like, Oh, ma'am, can we help you? And I'm like a court. Not I'm fine, You know, but that's my story. It was quite embarrassed. So you had Scottie Pippen and the rest of the bulls watching you walk across your lawn and you did a header and broke your ankle. You sprained your ankle. I broke my ankle. Yeah, broke and I couldn't admit it to them. And you know it. No, No, I'm fine. Everything's fine. Yes, we have to be tough. Thank you, Ruth have a great weekend. Okay. You can We got somebody making fruitcake. Susan, what happened when you made fruitcake? I would give you kitchen shares one time they take another one. Yeah, A and I think I was going to. I cut the living between the thumb and Forefinger along with the dates. Oh, my God! How deep Most of them very deep. Clinton of bandages off and finish the job. You didn't get stitches isn't Power wasn't that did just enoughto you believe a little bit? Get the you know what I mean? I'm sure you probably needed stitches. But you sound like a tough woman. I appreciate the phone call. See that I'm one of those guys. When I cut my hand. I let it go a day and it was still going. You have to go in right away to get stitches. I think there's a certain window, isn't it between four and six hours. There's some window there. If you wait too long. Then they end up gluing it. So you might as well just buy Superglue and Saviour. Save yourself time in the emergency room. And you're on w g N Jai. Why? Well, this British stupid I was brushing my teeth in the shower, because that's what I don't like brushing my teeth and shower. So I was kind of checking out the pile on the shower. And I thought, How high can I kick my leg up? So I'm doing this than on the last kid? I clipped the towel bar and broke my little Chou. Only I don't understand. I can't get past people that brush their teeth in the shower. So once you're done, where does your toothbrush go? It goes on the ledge and then later on my counter. I don't keep it in. OK, so you don't keep it in the shower, Okay? No, no, no, That's it. That's it. That's a different show. Right there. Time management in the shower. A lot of people shave and brush their teeth. I just don't know how that happens. Let's do one more. I'm sorry. It was contained his throwing hand. So it was karma. Is that right? Yeah. Your boy appealed the The old the thumb on the left and for guess he won't be playing for a while. Well, they There's a chance that he will be playing, but they don't know if they got to see how the whole thing comes out in two weeks, so but Cubs are concerned that's for sure Laceration was used in the article. Hit a nerve was used in the article. That doesn't sound good to me. Health does not Carol, You're on w g. N I. Hi. How are you? Well, this is pretty stupid on my card. Okay, but you know the commercial on TV. She's If we lose we how the heck How the heck can you not get up? Carol, Say that again. Your phone cut out, Say that again. Oh, the commercial. I've fallen and I can't get up. Yes, Yes, I I would laugh at that all the time. Okay. I'm like, how can you not get up? Right? So January 50 After the new year, my son and I decided we're getting out of here. We went to Michigan to my daughters Lay coats. So it's two in the morning. I'm thinking Oh, did I lock my car? Which is dumb. Okay? At two. In the morning, I get up toe alone. Lock it, cook it. I'm on the outer porch. So we lost her again. I turned okay. Go ahead. Your phone cut out against me going anyway, I'm on the outer pours her light Christmas lights went out. I turned to go back in on my call My call my foot on my son's work bag, fell on my right hip and broke my hip off. And in a couple of years, I probably would have needed the new hip anyway at my age, but it was fine. Yeah, but I couldn't get up. Yeah. You felt like you couldn't get up right now. I won't let that lady and more next, Marshall. Thank you, Carole have a great weekend. Okay, You can owe this Quintana injury. This is not good for the Cubs. Who's going to step up Who's going to pitch for him? They only have a 60 man roster right now. Do they have any extra pictures? I guess it's going to be Alec Mills, who was supposed to be in their bullpen. And by the way, they don't have a lot of people in that bullpen. This was not the plan, people. Ah, come on, man. Jose Quintana, washing dishes cut His thumb. Um July 1st today. Happy Bobby Bania Day, everyone. This is the day that annually Bobby Bania gets a check for $1.19 million he's going to get a check until 2035. When did this start? 2000 won? He's no it it started in 2011 p 25 years of ah of checks for good old Bobby Bania. He was He had a $5.9 million bio and the New York Mets, who are working with Bernie Madoff decided that you know what? Instead of paying that 5.9 we got Bernie here. We're going to turn that 5.9 and a 50.9 and we'll get off easy here. We'll pay him. 25 million will start in 10 years later in 2011 didn't work out that way. Burnie got himself in some trouble. Really, that end up with Bernie the great. He's the Michael Jordan of Pond schemes. Ponzi schemes. This Yeah, yeah, so the Mets are still paying him and they will for another 15 years. He's 57 years old right now. Wouldn't it be nice every year on July for somebody hands you a check for doing your past work in the nineties, and by the way when he signed this deal after he signed the deal, his his career tanked, right. I have to do a little Bobby. Bony, exact check, but that's I'm almost pot. I think that sounds exactly right. I think he had a few good years. He signed this deal, and then he tanked and he was phenomenal is a pirate. Yep. And, yeah, I don't remember having any great years with the Mets, which is why they wanted to buy him out. And from the next 15 years, I mean, July 1st, here you go. Here's a check for 1.19 1,000,000. He didn't like the media too much. Bobby Bania. He was an angry man. Every picture you see of him. No way. He's not smiling, right? He was. He did not seem to appreciate his position in life as a professional baseball player. But that was that was kind of a game back, then lot of other, more surly characters walking around versus thie. Very pleasant Chicago cubs in white sex that we have today. Everyone's happy. And how charismatic was Bernie Madoff to get the Mets to invest with him, right? He had everybody I would love to see a further just behind the scenes. Somebody has video off the way he would make his pitch is you guys are super rich. I'm gonna make you even more rich risk reward here. What are you doing? Burning? I like I'm just going to trust you, Bernie, man Burning. I dont worry. I make magic happen..

"Pete McMurray in the Skyline Studios 312981 7200 is our phone number. I have a question for you in just a second. But you know, during the pandemic where you were grounded, and you had to stay home for almost 90 days. The big surge was online. Dating has been way way up, Kev. I know you're single. Did you do any online dating on zoom? I didn't. I didn't do it. What? Didn't do it, Mom? My brother even did it. Yeah. How old's your brother? 52. Did it go? Well, I feel like if those feel like those could probably get pretty. Yeah, He said it was fine. You know, You have a conversation. If you can keep up the conversation I told them to have this is my coaching. All right, Johnny this round while you do what you just have, you know, five bullet points of questions, just in case it goes south. And he said it was fine. He said they do the whole thing like Hey, let's buy the same bottle of wine and we can drink it. I don't know when they have been a good idea. Yes, yes, you that people are the online dating. They do the wine bottles they do watching movies together. But people have not seen each other and think about it. Things are opening up right now. What do you think? The biggest concern for online zoom daters are concerns the biggest concern right now? For these people that have dated online for the very first time actually, meeting I don't know exactly. Follow your cool line of questioning. Yes, they are anxious about the first kiss about seeing them in person. And then the first kiss their very anxious about it. Do you do a virtual kids to be exhumed like Kiss your camera lens? I don't know. I think you bring it up right away to get the awkwardness out of the way. I think you would do that. I mean, would you be nervous? I've seen someone after talking to them for two months online. I don't know. Really. I don't think so. I mean, I think the only time I personally have been nervous about kissing someone is when I was a teenager. And I read this. I immediately thought, Okay. First kiss I was eighth grade summer by the way, everybody remembers their very first kiss. I don't know if I do..

"I just want to check in also, you can follow me on social media at Pete McMurray took me a while to get in today. If you're on the Kennedy right now, Read it. North Avenue. Theres a Winnebago on the side of the road trying so it off. I passed. That is my God. Everybody forget how to drive during the Phantom. Wow. I just don't understand. Everybody's in there. What is it? Four lanes of the Kennedy? I can't even remember. I drive on it every single day. Four lanes and the I'm sorry. Yeah, four lanes and the side three. The left side, three are crawling and there's one lane on the right. This year's moving along and I'm in the right lane. Like what is going on and at North Avenue, theres a Winnebago on the side of the road. How do you tow a Winnebago? Good luck with that. That was slowing down traffic. It was a parking lot. That was rough stuff kept. It was not fun, too. I passed three toed trucks on the Kennedy today, driving in Parking lot out there. You gotta take care of your car folks, especially Fourth of July weekend and you got to check that air conditioning. To make that happen. Lauren, did we have that in traffic? Oh, yes. OK, I made a worse is that while that stalled RV was there, there was also an accident at Pulaski for awhile. So you had the mix of everything, just backing everything up. Traffic is back 100 per cent. I missed the open roads, Pete. I mean, I know it's bad to say it means things are getting a little bit back to normal. But it was selfishly weigh in every day For the past few months. I've just been cruising in. It was wonderful. It took me 11 minutes. One time to get the work today. It took me 42. I want to say so. Let think about 11 minutes and when you get downtown, it's like a ghost town down here. And now everybody is everywhere and half The people are wearing masks. OK, coming up on today's show. God bless the Yusa. It's one.

"Seven twenty WGN Pete McMurray in the skyline studios we love talking about zoom around here where a lot of us have done this meetings the zoom happy hours if you want to share about your zoom experience three one two nine eight one seventy two hundred is our phone number the newest thing now during the self quarantine is the zoom dates and I was wondering if anybody had a zoom dates and there was a person on our show that had a zoom date this week Curtis you at is soon date I thought I'd let me start from the beginning how did you meet this person so we matched on a dating app okay and then we have been talking for a for a probably about a week week or two and she was like do you wanna try as soon day so you're talking on the phone are you texting texting no one talks anywhere talking on that is so funny you're talking on the app so you talk on the app you go back and forth we S. like texting yeah okay and you get a notification that they sent a message yeah okay so this goes on for a week yeah and she places the order let's zoom date yeah and she said I said she said are you okay with that I said that's fine I don't care and she's like okay good will as long as you're okay with me wearing like a sweat shirt and I am like sweat pants down while you get dressed up for well and why would you like to say that she was trying to downplay the whole thing yeah one iris I responded saying well as long as you're okay with me wearing my black **** onesie that while this is off to a great sorry all right and so yeah we had we talked for an hour and soon it was great and she actually is was in the process of adopting a cat so she had an interview with a foster home where adoption clinic what captors after it after not talking really yeah so she and your ad in our zoom date yeah so how did it start when did you guys talk about introduce you to Hey no we loan rate we already had that thanks for getting dressed up as soon I know this the first time that I'm senior thanks for wearing a sweatshirt and sweat pants we already had a small talk thing already done so we just kind of continued the conversation that we're having on the app was it uncomfortable at first for like the first like two minutes and then once we got talking into a conversation you got comfortable yeah it was totally fine is this the one you're gonna get married I have no idea when you know you know that's what they say I still to meet this person face to face yet so it went on for an hour yeah wow it probably gonna go longer she didn't have to get off to get interviewed by the cat person so are you gonna have another resume dates are I don't know like in a park and stay six feet apart how does that work with the next I have no idea I haven't figured any of that out I haven't thought about any of that stuff yet I haven't taken that next step yeah so you're not you're in no rush yeah it's interesting where you go what's the next thing okay so you met on the dating app or a friend introduces you to you're the second person that I've heard about having no zoom date during the self quarantine yeah and and part of it is like well why would you want to try dating right now well it's like well we're kind of that is better you know I will talk to somebody might not yes it's a screening process yeah I mean if I was single I can die do it every single day all right let him up let's go we got a screen and once this thing left going out to restaurants so the next step is you don't know not yet the whole update us on that but I I don't have any any plans right now let me run through some steps if you're new to zoom okay number one did you test your technology if you're doing anything zoom related you need to do a test before the meeting or the date or the happy hour yeah and you did or didn't want to do it I know how to do soon because I I had done soon happy hours with family I'm a few weeks prior so I knew what I was doing like when it came to zoom out works my dad is used zoom out to with his work so I had used to zoom up prior to all this going on there's people listening right now thinking to themselves I don't know with whom is I don't need to use your own it's very simple yeah you just download an app on your phone if you don't have the app you just go to the Xoom website and you click two buttons I think that and aposs up yet yep it is simple but the second time I use him first time everything perfect yeah second time no sound nothing so I the log out log in ID do that twice and something happened I have no idea to this restart the computer yeah yeah but that's how everybody wants to talk nowadays you know even though you can talk on the phone they like the video zoom yeah see people's faces never drink in front of you I mean I know I've been facetiming with friends throughout all this stuff to friends who live in other states and who are every about a friend who lives in California and I went to college with that I've been talking to me been playing you know video games online and and stuff like that and keeping in contact with people my gosh so like my son Charlie I'm closer he's yeah but he's got he's got kids on facetime Murray's got its friends on facetime and then he's playing on the TV yeah I I have it all I have a microphone at my house I have a bunch of other stuff going on to that I can easily just log in and chat with people for a zoo meet up number two number one tester technology number to dress exactly as you normally would if you were meeting a person so the sweats thing bums me out yeah maybe she was just trying to manage expectations maybe one or two where by the way what what did she where she had a dark pink ones like magenta hoodie and then like black sweat pants or leggings okay that was that are not bad so dress exactly as you would if you have a if you have a median on zoom you should wear meeting attire yeah okay have you seen the video of the woman that was on a sales meeting and she went into the bathroom and kept the zoom on I did see that yeah that's that's a bad thing another rule for zoom look at the other people on the screen so if you're in a meeting don't stare at your phone if you're texting yeah I look up at your computer because people are paying attention yeah okay I've seen that I've seen that were were I've been in a few couples in meetings and in people well well they're not paying attention not paying attention and you're and you're talking to that person like they forget to turn off their camera or something like that or what's really frustrating is like you're trying to moderate like as you meaning you're trying to get like for example like a business thing and you're trying to talk with somebody and another person has like their dog barking in the background or something and he they can't now we are both my wife and I have a very important meeting at two o'clock just make sure you get Wrigley taken downstairs well I forget in the dog starts barking once the doorbell rings guess who gets in trouble yeah you're looking at him mmhm so I look at the other people on the screen I assume happy hour last week there was a guy that was doing dishes yeah not paying attention it's a cool idea but sometimes it's fun for other people just to listen in to give them entertainment yeah conduct conduct yourself exactly as you would if this was an in person meeting did you feel that way on your zoom date yeah I mean as much as we could in a not really I I date sort of environment okay I mean it's just two people in their apartments talking to each other so if you have a meeting on zoom pay attention and conduct yourself as you would in person yeah I mean like we were still paying attention and talking to each other I mean there is now this is everything to none of us were honored neither one of us are on our phones during this whole thing people are texting and you know about the green screen that is the next one yeah can troll what you can control your background so you can do different backgrounds on zoom and what's the one everyone chooses oh my gosh San Francisco the Golden Gate Bridge yeah wow you're in San Francisco again but sometimes their face fades out or have their heads gone yeah it just doesn't seem to wear out we are on a zoom meeting with a bunch of family like I said and my cousin decided to turn himself into a pickle just a couple boy you need to have good wifi too yeah the people that are talking in the wifi keeps going out I'm telling ya the zoom things yeah especially if you have a meeting you can attest all of the stop if you are a host and I've said this week after week of your host you need to take control of the meeting the best thing that I ever did my third zoom meeting is I told people I'm gonna be part of the zoom I want to be the host and I sent everybody for questions into in advance there was ranging from five to seven people yeah you have forty five seconds to answer question and you have a twenty second rebuttal I think I killed it there I think the patent that somehow because it works so well when you do a whip around in the circle seven people forty five seconds of peace and you know they are you are you moderated that perfectly where you went from person to person for you gotta keep it moving yeah and that's the other all right is that you don't have time to do your turn yeah David it's your turn yeah you don't have people interacting in in jumping into like two people try to jump in that one part you know because you went from person to person the person everybody got well the worst thing is is when you have a happy hour and people are just talking over each other yes and I don't mean to bring up my own family but I have eleven siblings and we had something for my mother my mother's birthday a few weeks ago three it's just like a family gathering every person's just talking over each other and paying attention that is my family to a tee that's nice I know some people don't like the zoom meetings but I do if they're organized that's the key that is the key.

"You know how are we protecting and this is very important how are we protecting the workers and the customers in each of the retail and wholesale and warehouse situations you know worse the supply chain hub of the nation here in Illinois we have a lot of warehouses and distribution not to mention manufacturing other things but how do we protect the workers and the customers and and give guidance more than just you know six feet apart and a mask by industry I'm working on this myself but you know this is a problem that every state that is similar to ours or every industry like the industries that we have here in Illinois is trying to grapple with so I hope that they will address that this will be our last question Jim from rock river times asks now that we're seeing more grocery store workers infected with covert nineteen should shoppers worry that they will be infected by touching items they purchase and should shoppers wipe down items that they buy at stores they absolutely should wipe down items that they buy at the stores I I would suggest to everybody there are a couple of very good and well thought out demonstration videos and articles about what you should do when you go to the grocery store when you buy things you bring them home how you should handle that when you get home everything really needs to be wiped down and whatever it is you were carrying the the groceries in needs to immediately be thrown away or you know if it can be wiped down great but but you need to get it out of your kitchen and make sure that it's out of the you know reach of anybody would touch it and therefore possibly be infected by something that's remaining on those items but it can be done and you know and and again there are lots of good instructional videos and articles about the right things around yeah thank you all right that is the governor's press conference and yeah we carried live every single day are we gonna take a break here we're gonna take a break or a quick break Pete McMurray were here until five o'clock the president is supposed to speak at four we will carry that live as soon as he walks up the podium are a quick break and.

"Pete McMurray in the all states Pete McMurray in the skyline studios to seventeen the governor comes on around two thirty so we're gonna take Dr Ben singer from northwestern hospital right up to the governor in doctor I saw a woman on ABC seven yesterday Deborah Westfall who has the virus in we have are on the line and I want to Deborah to kind of tell her story because Devery you didn't have a fever when you first were feeling ill is that right no I did not have a fever at all last Wednesday the eleventh I started the I have a cough and I had some some body ache and it was a dry cough I also we kinda lost my ability to taste anything and you know my body aches got a little bit worse and my cough got a little bit more and then on Sunday I had heard that someone in my building was infected with the virus so on Monday I had a horrible coughing attack to where I couldn't catch my breath and that's when I called my primary and I think because I'm a breast cancer survivor and that I've recently gone through it they wanted to get me in for a tough time right away sure so I I was directed to go up to a clinic through north shore university health systems in Gurnee where they they give us a lot of my throat and two swabs inside my nose they came back and they told me that I tested negative for influenza and strep throat and that they'd be sending my test off to Evanston hospital and that I would hear in twenty four to forty eight hours I heard back twenty three hours later that I was positive and what did they tell you to do did they give you medicine that they say just go home get some rest what did they tell you to do so when I left the clinic they told me to practice social distancing don't come within six feet of anyone wear this mask and they gave me a mask so I I did I I came back to my apartment and then when I found out that I had it they told me to stop quarantine for fourteen days so a friend picked up my dog because I obviously can't walk them right up I live in a condo well let me let me ask the doctor so doctor no fever they wanted her quarantine I mean this is the eighty percent that they talk about that the eighty percent here you're just gonna go home you're going to just lay in bed for fourteen days are just going to hang out yeah fortunately most cases are mild and don't require hospitalization and and don't require intensive care were worried of course about the cases that can progress people can get very sick and and even require life support but fortunately as as is our guest here hasn't hasn't needed that level of care and and can just treat this like you would any other flu at home that's right so Deborah aches and pains what are you feeling right now since it started last Wednesday today Sunday how are you feeling now you know so it's actually you know I'm like on day ten so it was it was the eleventh that I got sick I'm feeling so much better you know I still don't have I would say I I still don't have my taste buds back that's for sure a lot of us would wish that we didn't have taste buds I I've lost six pounds there is a plus right there but there's a silver lining you know and and my my energy level is still a little bit low but aside from that you know and I have a little bit of a cough I'm getting better every single day doctor once you get the corona virus is it a year or life you won't get it back for a year or maybe for the rest of your life or we don't know at this point we don't know at this point and so so glad to hear that you're you're feeling better that's wonderful to hear the the the taste and the smell disruption that that's something we're hearing more and more about I'm very interested to hear that the report of that as well we do know that people will develop antibodies in their blood against the virus and we think and we certainly hope that that will be protective but to the extent to which it will be protective against infection reinfection similar viruses and how long that lasts is still an open question yeah bro take care yourself thank you for coming on the radio any time take care all right there you have it there is a woman that did not have a fever but she had most of the symptoms and she went in and tested positive and she's been at home and she's getting much much better Dr Bensinger from northwestern hospital on the line we take a few more calls before the governor comes on yes all right let's go to Fran in park ridge Fran what is your question for Dr singer well I bought some hello I am a dine in when they came and opened the package I thought that they were produced in China I mean total wrapping all in Chinese the only thing in English with the alphabet puzzle and I just wondered before I give them to my grandkids for Easter are in a state stock ET yes I I would say that they are I think the the risk of transmission for a package optically that's been manufactured China or anywhere else ships and then sat it is very unlikely that there is any transmissible virus there I I think it's it's safe to give those puzzles after Easter all right let's try to bang a few of these out we got a minute left dating crystal lake what's your question for Dr singer from northwestern hospital hi there I had a splenectomy about twenty years ago and my more prone to infection so yet so there are many people that have had selected means following either car accident or for other reasons that are out there certainly as you as you know people with connecting these are at risk for bacterial infections and so we want to make sure that people selecting user are up to date on on a number of vaccines you're probably at you know different risk of getting the virus but what I would worry about it again this is speculation because we don't know about selecting these in particular is I would worry that that people slack to meet maybe at higher risk to develop severe complications because their immune systems aren't exactly what a person who has the screen might be so I think taking you know even extra precautions even beyond what you might normally do even with our social distancing it makes sense because because they think that that would be considered something that's that's higher risk than average all right thank you let's do you know what document have you hold on for one second I'm to take care of these commercials then we'll take you up to the governor okay Dr Ben singer from northwestern hospital is here three one two nine eight one seventy two hundred we have one open line we'll try to get these in before the governor speaks in five minutes at seven twenty WGN.

"Sunday night at ten thirty on WGN TV he goes in for Pete McMurray today we've been talking with Nikki Lynette she's an independent artist doing lots of cool stuff she is the vision of creativity and I am a big fan of all of her work and she's here in studio with us we've been talking about her new play coming up at Steppenwolf in there look out series it's called get out alive if you follow me on social media I'll be sharing links to it and to her you can find her website and her connect with her on social media she's very very funny and Instagram very cool in his sixth grader and all the things and he we've been talking about your play and and all of the different creative endeavors that you're doing and you mentioned the final project that you're working on bandaids for broken hearts tell me a little more about that because I I've I've heard you talk about it and I've seen the beautiful cover for it and it's interesting about how your all of your different projects seem to be intersecting around themes right now yeah so bandaids for booking heights is kind of the project I wish I'd of had to listen to you when I was going through you know a really tough breakup and you know might trauma disorder was caused by a negative relationship something that was very toxic for me is so now it's kind of like I get to speak to people in a loving and empathetic way this speaks to the payment that they might be experiencing or people they just want to hear something groovy in kind of raw and vinyl is making this huge comeback is making this huge reemergence and it's such a intimate thing because in order for people to listen to vinyl they have to be at home I want a person puts on a record is it you put it on and you're planning to be in your home it's a very intentional thing you know I mean it's so I wanted to create something like it persons in their home they're listening to it I have their attention how can I impact them and I'm writing from that space and it's it's fun yeah yeah and then what is some have you prepared or approached vinyl differently than than other music projects look it is okay so what I'm doing is normally like when I record songs I always record them in my computer first I do like the little vocals on my little you know not studio quality Mike and but it sounds really cool to me like it sounds cool to me but it doesn't make the final production because I work with the studios and Matt Hennessey a VSOP studios and that would never let my yes No played it but what I'm doing for this project is I am recording on top of those so you get some of that Ron is and that initial a motion it's in there but you also get some of the studio quality because I'm re recording certain elements so it has a higher quality feel and I'm excited about that because I for the first time that initial wellness that I had when I created that work is going to be part of the project as mad cool to me that's highly Lessing yeah that's really creative and then you also have a documentary that you're working on it's called happy songs about and happy things and the reason I did is because when I was working on my plate I realized a dang like in my stories you need to me this is my story but you have IT gotta story everybody who ever went through anything that caused a mental health issue with depression anxiety they all got a story in so I'm creating an opportunity not only for people to share those stories but also to find accessible solutions for people.

But better every relief pitcher must face at least three hitters unless they retire decide if you gain the guy in the sector with two outs, and he gets the last out. That's okay. But if he comes in you can't go all right lefties coming up. Let's bring in a variety of he's coming out. Let's get a lefty, and they go back and forth back and forth. You can't do that. "I got it wrong. They're going back to the beginning. I was actually supposed to sing the seventh inning stretch with two fellow hosts Nick Gilio and with Pete McMurray. And it was the first time in the sixteen years. They have been doing it with guest singers in the booth that the connection was not live in a park and or on the air. So you cannot you cannot hear a singing on TV. On the radio or in the park, which I was a healing me. Tell you something about that. I was I always absurd. It was upsetting. When I found out I was going to sing the seventh inning stretch. I told my mom, and my mom goes by yourself. And I said no with Pete, Nick. And she goes, well, can you stand behind them? So debbie. Hi, a very good singer. And I get very panicked when I have to sing. So I get lost in my head. Well, that was a that was a fun day. Yeah. The Mike didn't work. Which makes perfect sense to me. But it was a Grammy was great. It was incredible honor. And and I'm wearing my seventh inning stretch singer. Hat. You could give you a hat, and it says seventh-inning stretch singer. And they only give that to people who have sung the seventh inning stretch at Wrigley. So I got to do that. And then they give you a box of baseball's to sign, and then you get a jersey with your name on it. And of course, she gets to sing the seventh inning stretch. Which was awesome. And then before him we were out on the field. I got to go out on the field is my first time on the field at Wrigley. I've only been going to that park for fifty three years. And so, but it was still very memorable. And it was a lot of fun. And it's just that the Mike didn't work. But it was cool being up there, man. And and singing it. Yeah. That was fun. I was a fun day. So all right. Yes. Still a great memory. I don't care what anybody says it was an absolute honor to be up there. And and to to sing the stretch. It was cool. So all right. Should we play the thing on top of the thing with the thing? When I grew up on the farm. Fly was something we sprayed to kill and jam was something we put on her breakfast toes..
