"Yeah, and of course, Shane baz had Tommy John surgery in September 2. So that's a big less. I know that with the race of rotation and bullpen, those concepts are sort of amorphous and Jeffrey springs was a reliever, then he was a starter and he was successful as that too. So you never know who's going to make that transition with this team. So mcclanahan had some shoulder issues late last season, but he was great when he was healthy. So what are the expectations for pitchers who could really step up at least in the absence of buzz in the temporary absence of glass now is there another springs type of conversion success in store or patino, as you said, who could really take a step forward? Yeah, maybe not a conversion, but I think some of those depth guys that I mentioned, I mean, if you told me that one of that trio of Torino patino or Fleming took a huge step forward as a really consistent starter this season, I would not be surprised at all and it could be any one of them. I would be completely guessing at this point and it could go anyway and I believe a Pitino has obviously the raw talent electric fastball, great breaking ball. Has the delivery and everything to make it work. It just hasn't so far at the big league level with the raisin. Injuries played a part last year and everything. You just throw a 97, I believe you touched 97 in his last spring outing and he said he hasn't thrown 97 in spring. So that has to be considered a good sign that he's healthy. You've heard a lot of good things in camp even since I've been here back already about his work ethic and how focused and motivated he looks coming into camp, so that's certainly a guy that I could see taking a step forward and then another one would be their top prospect. Taj Bradley, who's just optioned yesterday, it's likely to begin the season of triple-A Durham, also electric stuff, really good kid. Everyone's really impressed by his work ethic and just the way that he thinks and he could be another guy from within who would be a big addition to the rotation at some point, probably more likely this summer just because he doesn't have a ton of time and triple-A, but that's the kind of guy that I think you can pretty safely bet on as well. So Ben mentioned that the team didn't do much by way of free agent additions, but they did do a number of extensions. You talked about springs briefly, but if I can pivot to the bullpen for a second, talk to us about Pete Fairbanks. First of all, why does Pete Fairbanks always look so nervous? You don't have to answer that, but he does always look quite nervous when he's on the mound. And that made more sense in 2021 than it did last year. We're really, really leaning on these segues today. He had a superlative 2022 his ERA was just above one, his 5th was below one. So what sort of motivated the extension there he's a guy who is a little bit older, he has had injury issues in the past. How did this come about? I think he is a guy who loves playing here. He is very much like a raised pitching success story, you know, every time that they've clinched the playoff spot four years in a row since he came over in 2019, he has gone out of his way to find Eric neander and the champagne celebration or whatever it was in 2020 and say thank you for trading for me. He loves it here. They love having him. He obviously has incredible stuff, the big fastball, the breaking ball. He's a guy who's comfortable pitching late in games, somebody who can work in the 9th inning or obviously the way to raise their bullpen anytime in high leverage. So I think it just kind of made sense as a fit for them wanting to stay together and knock out some of the potentially contentious arbitration type stuff and negotiations. Just let kind of focus on baseball rather than focusing on the business side of it. It's a pretty good deal from his end just to have that financial security for a guy who's had Tommy John surgery twice. Maybe that's why he looks nervous. I'm kidding. He's actually one of the more confident players I've been around. I think it's just like a very manic energy that takes place when he gets on the mound. That's probably a better way to describe it. Resting nervously. It certainly intense, I think, with the crazy eyes and everything. Yeah. But no, I think a lot of their extensions too kind of came about as a result of the fact that they didn't do a lot this off season. Eric neander kind of mentioned that they had a little bit of financial flexibility that they used to kind of keep this core further in place. And it's something that they've done really over the last year plus or so. You look at the wander extension yandy signing F one for three years, Brandon Lau, obviously a couple of years before this, they really like this group and the core of it and they want to keep it together for a couple more years to see if they can finally push it through to win a World Series rather than just making it to it like they did in 2020 or early playoff exits like they've had the last couple of years. So there were a lot of kind of motivating factors to it, the desire for continuity, Fairbanks comfort with the rays, the rays comfort with Fairbanks and the same could be said for springs and yadi Diaz as well. So we should talk a little bit about the offense, which was not a strength, right? It was well, it was a strength relative to the next team that we're about to talk about the tigers. In part, because of the Meadows British trade that the race made with the tigers. Would have led the tigers in home runs if he had stayed there and hit the same number of home runs. But that's again more reflection of the tigers, which we will talk about. But the rays had sort of a middle of the pack offense. It was good enough. But where are the areas where it could improve either with better health or better performance? It's a little bit of both, but better health is the big thing. I mean, you look Brandon Lau played 65 games last season due to various back issues and really wasn't himself even when he could play, talk to him yesterday and asked him to just kind of explain the difference between how he feels the spring compared to last season and he said, well, it doesn't hurt when I swing anymore. I said, well, that's good. So that's a huge thing because he is basically the left handed kind of middle of the order bat that they need, hit 39 home runs drove in 99 runs in 2021 when they scored what about 200 more runs than they did last season and you could point to Brandon Lau is a big reason. For that change, Wanda Franco obviously is the face of the franchise basically now. He was limited by injuries. He looked like he invented the game last April, then legs started to kind of give out on him a little bit due to various injuries. Then he had the hamate fracture, not long after he came back and that can stick with you. He was still fine. I mean, you're talking about a disappointing 117 OPS plus. That's pretty good for a 21 year old, but you want him healthy, you want Brandon Lau healthy. And then you need to see steps forward from a guy like Josh Lowe, who has been apparently one of the talks of camp here so far. He looks a lot more confident, a lot more comfortable taking good swings, taking good at bats. He's a guy who could again answer the need for a left handed bat that they weren't able to get this off season. I heard some excitement about Luke Rayleigh as well the way that he's looked. He's a guy that got last spring and I think he played 20 something games up here, but the fact that they held onto him when he was out of binary league options all off season and didn't really even play kind of their waiver claim game that they usually do to keep him. I think says a lot about their belief in him and maybe what their models have in store for him. So those are the guys that really stand out. I think basically you go across the board and aside from maybe yandy Diaz and Harold Ramirez, I think it's probably fair to expect more from just about everybody who's coming back even parades. I mean, he had 20 home runs, but this is a guy in the miners who was known for getting on base higher average and everything and he hit two O 5 of the three O four O BP. So there's more there as well. I think it's fair to say. So this is going to be sort of a new look outfield. In some ways, in that this will be the first time in a long time that we haven't seen Kevin kiermaier patrolling center field for the trap. Is Jose Siri view to sort of their long-term

"Right decision, and I keep on asking people around baseball. Do you think that Trevor Bauer is going to find a spot where the team and I keep on getting back uniformly? No, they don't think that's going to happen. Yesterday, we learned that the Baltimore Orioles have declined a Camden yards extension, but in announcing that, they joined the governor of Maryland, Wes Moore in noting that they will continue these negotiations. They're looking for a long-term deal rather than a one time 5 year extension. So this is the Orioles continuing to indicate that they want to stay in Baltimore for the foreseeable future. Jeff McNeil and Matt's agreed the other day to a four year $50 million extension. Pete Fairbanks of the rays get $12 million in a three year deal with Tampa Bay. The Red Sox traded reliever Matt Barnes the Marlins for Richard blier, who will be part of the Red Sox bullpen moving forward. The Seattle Mariners reached a three year extension with the utility man Dylan Moore and looking at this deal three years, 8 point 8 7 $5 million and looking at the Mariners roster. I have an observation about this team because I'm starting to fall in love with the group of players they have on this team. Chad green got two years, $8.5 million with the Toronto Blue Jays. He's not going to be a factor early in the year because he's coming back from Tommy John surgery. Heck he might, it's no guarantee he's actually going to pitch it all this year. This is a case where the Jays are buying a year of security with green in the hope that he's going to help maybe at the end of this year and then certainly in 2024. Braves manager Brian snitker got an extension through the 2025 season. My son, who loves playing the show, was excited about this. Jazz Chisholm is going to be on the cover of MLB the show 23 that announcement came earlier this week. There were some retirements, longtime reliever Darren O'Day, a gray pro announced he's hanging up his spikes and so did Dexter Fowler who will always be remembered for this moment, first inning, game 7 of that incredible 2016 World Series between the Cleveland Indians and Dexter Fowler, Chicago Cubs, given a listen.

"Staple of bullpens around baseball. He's called it a career in quite a career. It was just a narratively speaking, his farewell tweet starts out as a lightly recruited high school player to a college walk on to an undrafted free agent to a non prospect entering pro ball. I'm extremely proud of playing with the best players in the world for so long. Finally, after 17 seasons in professional baseball, it is time to go home. And every athlete, they like to say nobody believed in me, you know, and nobody thought I was going to be this great. With their no day, I think it's a pretty accurate label, right? Impressive that he came from those humble baseball beginnings. The last as long as he did, and not just pitch as long as he did, 15 major league seasons. But also to be as good as he was 2.59 ERA, he has a one 67 career ERA plus, and this is just a very simplistic just ran a stat head query here for highest ERA plus in a career with at least 600 innings pitched. He had only 609 career in the rigorous season. It goes Mariano Rivera, Billy Wagner, Craig kimbrell, Jonathan papelbon, and Darren O'Day. He's 5th all time in terms of ERA plus in the AL and NL minimum 600 innings pitched. And the save totals for those 5 guys, starting with Rivera and Wagner kimbrough papal bun O'Day, 6 52, four 22, three 94, 360 eight, 21. And he's actually tied with a one 67 ERA plus with a rolled as Chapman who himself has 315 saves. So one of those things not like the other. So really just a kind of a cool, extremely effective on an inning pruning basis set up men. I do just want to mention though that 5th on the list, if we include not just AL and NL, but also the Negro leagues, which you can do on stat head is Dave Brown who would rank between Papua and O'Day with a one 69 career ERA plus and he was a Negro leagues player 1920 to 1925 short career and actually mostly a starter, but very effective and I will tell you why he had a short career. So reading from his baseball reference bullpen page, he started 1925 with a win despite 7 walks and 7 hits, he allowed one run while striking out 8. He then ended his career by killing a man in a bar room fight. Fellow Negro leagues players Frank wickware and Oliver Marcel were present at the scene. He then fled law enforcement afterward living on the run, he played under the name lefty Wilson, reportedly for an otherwise white team in Minnesota in 1927 in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1929, and in little falls, Minnesota in 1930, he was apparently arrested in Greensboro, North Carolina, and the FBI found that his fingerprints matched up, a different account has it that the police and Greensboro remembered his wanted poster and contacted the NYPD. Despite this New York decided not to extradite and charge him, Brown is rumored to have died in Denver. While his career was bookended by violent acts of crime in the beginning of his career, he was involved in a highway robbery. I don't know whether he was doing the rubbing or being robbed, but cutting short a magnificent pro career, his teammates described him as gentle kind and jolly. So there's Dave Brown. And as the baseball reference bullpen page noted, he might have trouble with cooperstown's character clause, given the way his career ended there also didn't play long enough to meet Hall of Fame standards, but he was on the preliminary ballot for the 2006 special committee on the Negro leagues election. So quite a player while he was around. That's Dave Brown for you. Now, the actual step last I want to give you here, I just happened to see that oday was retiring before we started recording. But Jeffrey springs is getting extended by the Tampa Bay Rays. The rays are on a little extension spree, seemingly, not just Jeffrey springs, but also Pete Fairbanks. And yeah and he DS, it looks like. It's extension season, right? We saw the mets with Jeff McNeil and the braves extending their manager, Brian snitker, will get more and more extensions as opening day approaches. But I was intrigued by Jeffrey springs, hard for me to separate in my mind to his performance from the fact that he was one of the rays who opted out of pride night, right? But he did have a very solid season on the field in 2022. Totally. And the interesting thing about Jeffrey springs is that he became a starter for the first time in the majors in 2022, his age 29 season, and it went remarkably well, so he debuted with the rangers in 2018. He was with them for a couple of seasons and then with the Red Sox and then with the rays for the past couple of seasons and he had been exclusively a reliever aside from two opener starts in 2018 with Texas. He was just in the bullpen every year and wasn't even always effective there. He had started some in college and in the minors, but not in the majors, and this has been a long-standing interest of mine. I wrote back in 2010 for baseball perspectives. RJ Anderson still makes fun of me because I was so flabbergasted that the Astros had decided to use Wesley Wright as a starter, even though he had only been a reliever to that point, but Wesley Wright, when he started four games, he was only in his third season and he was 25, never started again after that year, but the spring situation is even more unusual, and I'm always intrigued by people who do the reverse conversion, right? Because it's usually you become a reliever when you wash out as a starter. And typically, pitchers pitch better in the bullpen than they do in the rotation. If it's the same guy at the same time, Tom tango has what he calls the rule of 17, which is basically like all your rate stats improved by 17% is kind of the average boost that you get from going to the bullpen as a starter. So it is unusual for someone who is in his 5th major league season and nearing 30 and already is 30 at this point. Darren O'Day, by the way, is 40. But Jeffrey springs is 30 now, so unusual to make that kind of conversion. And so I just wanted to know what the precedents were for that kind of established reliever being made a starter after really being solidified in a relief role. So I went to frequent stat blast consultant Ryan Nelson, RS Nelson 23 on Twitter, and I asked him to come up with a list of pitchers who had made a similar career shift to springs. So the criteria were and I think he started with World War II. So this is post World War II players, which would probably get most of the qualifiers anyway, because there weren't that many regular relievers prior to that. So if we look for players who had at least three plus seasons to start their career as relievers and over those three plus seasons, they pitched at least 95% of their games in relief. So those are the criteria. At least three plus seasons to start the career with cumulatively at least 95% of those games coming in relief, which we use that cutoff to account for springs opener starts. If you do that and then you look for guys who had following those reliever seasons, a season where he started at least 75% of his games, which was the case for springs in 2022, and we looked for players who satisfied those criteria since World War II, there are only 21 of them. Jeffrey springs is the 21st to make that kind of change. So it is quite unusual. Hoyt Wilhelm was the first to do it, so he debuted in 1952 and he had 7 reliever seasons until his first season as a starter in 1959. And then bob McClure and Steve bedrosian can hell, Mike Jeff coat, Craig lefferts, Craig lefferts actually went 9 seasons before his first starter season.

"No-one air nado upside right like but he put the bat on the ball. That just top to bottom wander franco on down. This group is tough to beat with big velocity like there's just not gonna fold against upper level pitching so they play matchups as well as anybody else in baseball as well. So you've got you know. Many margot can come in and be like any league defensive outfielder at any of the three positions and also crushes lefties and it seems like the rays use him like against righties who work in a certain part of the zone where his swing plays particularly. If you know opposing righties have a sinker. That lands to the arm side third of the plate a lot like manny margot swing sweeps through that part of the zone very naturally like with pole power and and so. I think that the razor are fantastic. Playing not just left right match ups but like sinker ballers versus guys. Who swing play in that area. I think kevin cash is pretty good at deploying those types of guys so so yeah the defense overall for the raise i think is also especially in the outfield like exceptional awesome does came up as a center fielder so arena but then he put on all that muscle so he's more of a below average defensive outfielder now in my opinion. Now what's happening. pretty quickly. The fact they can just have any lead defensive outfield at anytime is pretty good to the rays were really built as an org for the regular season and specifically your regular season that was coming off of like no twenty twenty season where they had all this pitching depth. It helped them deal with injuries to tyler glass. Now and nick anderson and chris archer chris. Archer was one of those guys. You bring in to help you deal with these injuries. But right. they had like. They've pro more than a dozen arms on the l. As were hitting the postseason here but just because of the way they went out and like you know they signed david robertson and matt whistler in jt shark wa and for jp fire is an and rasmusen paid premium for those two guys. Lewis pacino's in apple and can come in and give you multiple innings. I think that they're going to have to play. Matchups with with the bullpen In terms of like stuff fit versus some of the red sox hitters. They don't have the pete fairbanks and anderson like is just as parade of dudes like diego casio where in the past couple postseasons. Here's just someone throw in ninety six plus with huge movement and a good breaking ball in the seventh eighth and ninth innings. It's not what they have in the bullpen. This year yeah. It is stock down for the raise. Bullpen in general. So it's going to have to rely on play matchups in in the bullpen. Raise and hopefully out-slugging your opponents with nelly crews wonderf- ronco and randy arena. So you had hope that the rookie arms really come to play. I have my doubts about authors guys personally But i did pick the raise. The win this series. So we'll see how that plays out but they're a good team. It's an interesting. It's an interesting version of tampa right. Because they think that the popular conception of them is as team the plucks random dudes from other orbs or develop some themselves and then you have this someone anonymous but across the board sort of effective running line of pitchers who come in and are really great. And when you think about the fact that they didn't just didn't have a traditional rotation this year really to speak of. I don't think they had a single qualified starter from an era title perspective. You assume that the pitching is going to be the strength than i do. Think that the bullpen is able to has been able to obviously cover those innings and do so well but the real this is. This is like a hitting team now. There's just like a does just like a hidden team like they were force in non pitcher offensive war for us. I think they were like in the top seven four. Wrc plus and do better than that from an aol perspective so like it is a very potent lineup In a way that i am having to adjust my own sense of where the strengths and weaknesses are just based on like you said what we have seen from them in the past relative to what they are actually going to be fielding in this playoff field which is like a bunch of very good hitters and a bunch of pitchers who are talented. But who have more in the way of question marks. And i think we're used to seeing damba like i remember being around. There are a lot raise scouts who live here in arizona. I think they're like four of them. Who might just show up at the field and see and so you get to know these guys get to see them at the at the field and None of them have been around. A couple of weeks for instructs really because they're all on advance scout work preparing for the postseason. And i remember talking with one of them early during the season. Who was like look like. We're just not hitting right now and this was when before francke was up before they traded for. Nellie crews awesome meadows. I think began the year pretty hot and that was sort of. It was terrible especially at home brandon. Lau hadn't really turned things around at that yet and so now it is funny sitting here that towards the end of the season seems to be if we're lining up the strengths. It's okay you got a twenty year old superstar in the middle your lineup. You've got a forty year old potential hall of famer..

Red Sox Beat

"You force the raise to kind of stretch out some of those other starters who haven't been as good. So I always try to be hesitant. It's so easy any sport baseball basketball hockey. It's so easy in any sport to look at game one and say, this is the pivotal pivotal game of the series. You know, this game is going to decide blah blah blah, whatever. And it's important, you want to get out to one nothing lead, but, you know, we've both seen series where game one feels like years before game, you know, even by game four, things can monumentally shift. So but in this one, it just because again, the way the rays pitching staff is structured and because it's only a 5 game series not 7, that game one assuming mcclain head is starting. I actually don't know if they've made that official, but assuming that clan a hand is starting to have they have okay. It feels incredibly pivotal. So they're bullpen. Leading the way is Diego Castillo, Andrew kittridge, Pete Fairbanks, JP fryers, and then a Dietrich ends. All of those guys have powerful arms and also Jeffrey springs in there as well. The guys that strike out the most kittridge by far and away, 77 strikeouts in 71 and two thirds innings. And you know, he's got 8 saves and 9 save opportunities. And as we know from Kevin cash, he is not afraid to go to the bullpen sometimes too early as we found out in game 6 of the 2020 World Series against the Dodgers. Kevin cash has got something on the line now too. He's trying to become the first Tampa Bay manager to win a World Series. And, you know, this franchise has been to two of them. And lost them both. And he would like to finally break through and give Tampa Bay a World Series. Don't you also think they're sort of a redemption element in this for him? Right after last year's great point. No question about that. However, a manager managing for redemption is a lot different than players playing for redemption themselves. I guess I mean that more in look, I don't know because baseball has been taken over by the nerds, but if he makes a similar decision, or if there's other wonky decisions that cost the raise the series, it should cost him his job. It won't because one, there's nobody to call for it in Tampa. The team has no fans. Into the nerds running the team will probably call him a genius and build a statue because they don't care about winning games. They care about bowing down to the math. But I do like you wonder how that factors in that element of he is the reason they didn't win last year. He cash is in the math is the reason cash's math is the reason they didn't win last year. And you wonder how that factors in. But I always forget, I go on the math tangents and then forget where I started. It was just so frustrating. But yeah, oh yeah. Alex. It's so I'm sorry. We all saw it. It was so stupid. And I hope I hope to raise lose because of the math again. And again, nothing will happen because the nerds love it and they don't care about winning. They care about doing their little calculations and try to prove how smart they are and the outcomes don't matter, right? In actual baseball knowledge doesn't matter because in my notebook it all worked and whatever, but please let the math costume. Okay, we gotta get some connections..

"Could hand pick two teams to face each other in the world series this year with the goal in mind to be breaking the viewership record. What two teams you. There has to be those teams. I mean i would say like honestly does it. Who from the american league outside of the astros would be driving. Val yank the yankees the yankees just by shears by. Yeah so i mean i. I don't think i would appeal like out of market. But they've got so many fans globally that it would. It would move the needle but like in terms of baseball fans that are like fuck my team so naked fan base is being equal. We're not factoring in population of fan base. There's no better matchup handpick. yeah. I don't think so because some of the biggest like high quality matchups that you could pick our divisional opponents that wouldn't be able to match up in the world series like what they do. It's very hard to develop a an al nl rivalry. Well no no for sure. And there's like and in the national league like if you're just going through know looking at the divisions like in terms of heated rivalries on a national scale The ones that people know about to talk about Giants dodgers and there's been talk about and i've been part of these conversations of the padres and the dodgers having more of a heated rivalry in recent years and when you look across the divisions who else has rivalries like that that you're talking about. Yeah they're they're becoming harder to find like true. Rivalries are becoming harder to find. And i don't know why that is. Is that because there's a lot of tanking going on there's a lot of poor roster building going on because in order to have a rivalry bowl teams have to be really good at the same time and when you look around these divisions the white sox what did i see the white sox have the seventh best record in baseball but they have the largest division lead like that. Division sucks white. Sox are a good team not trying to take away from the white sox but no one else in that division is really trying to win this year. Obviously have the the nfl west which we talked about at length in terms of rivalries and then the yankees tampa bay rivalry was was hot last year. Not so much this year not so much this year. I thought that that would have more more staying power and more carryover But like it has to do with like part of the part of the thing that you have to factor with rivalries is players staying on those teams for an extended period of time. Feel the sting of not getting those laws are those groups are all still there from from last year. Pretty much not. I'm saying like not just from one year to the next three years. Like i think about like when you have a core that comes up these these guys they through their pre arbitration years and then through their arbitration years. You know that's six year period where you could be impacting another core group of players in that same division and their career and their success. Like if you're the team that continues to give them fits and like a starter like he just can't get through this lineup. They kick his ass and maybe over the course of his career. He's been sit down a couple of times after games against this team. That's how rivalries start. Stay and and maintain is i think core guys being there for an extended period of time and when i say extended in these days that's why i said like three years not eight or nine how we would think about it in the early years like sixty seventies eighties. Not that yeah. I think i think with tampa and new york that one. That one was heated. Because you've got chapman thrown at guys heads who then later homer to bury the team in the postseason and then you've got players talking shit like dj will make you was like. Yeah i don't think the rays of that good. They just got hot. And it's like bro. You played them ten times and they beat you eight times and then they beat you in the playoffs. They didn't just get hot. they were better than you. What are you talking about. So i'm sure a team like tampa. They don't they. Don't forget shit like that. And i thought it was really cool guy. Pete fairbanks when he was doing the Post game interviews after beating the yankees. Use again maybe. Espn will get some of our fucking names right like they. They're obviously they resent the whole. Oh they're small market tampa bay rays and no one knows who we are. It's like well you know who we are. Now motherfucker where you're just in the world series but anyways Was there anything else from wednesday night that that stood out to you matt. Masking fucking curtain call is pretty cool. Yeah that was. That was very cool. Album was awesome. I think it's cool. You know what i he just because he garnered wide respect and i think he's one of those players where even if he's on the opposing team you want to see him do well and i think it's because he has been that first guy that we i go to and say you know what lived up to that big monster deal on the pitching side surpassed it like didn't live up to your surpassed surpassed expectations and so it's almost like he's got this hall pass across the league where you just you root for him. You want good shit happening.

"Your fantasy football draft fantasy. Football's coming up here. My draft just was scheduled for later this month. So i know. I'll be paying attention to everything going on across the nfl out there so rate and review the podcast wherever you're listening. Check out some of the other shows. You guys will not be disappointed. As i mentioned in same number one thirty six different trades taking place on july twenty ninth july thirtieth since. I spoke with you guys last time. So we're continuing around the horn here getting you up to date with every deal that went down and ultimately who is going where and for what so. You guys can stay up to date with the latest. Because if you're watching the highlights on monday catching up on the weekend. You're seeing a lot of new faces and new jersey's out there and ultimately you're going man. When did that happen. Well if you're listening to this podcast. Now you're going to understand what the x. Going on out there so next on the list. That trade we have is with the tampa bay race. They acquired right handed pitcher sean armstrong from the orioles for cash considerations so after trading diego castio and placing pete fairbanks on the injured list late last week fairbanks dealing with right shoulder inflammation tampa bay added some bullpen. Help picked up some depth by picking up armstrong from baltimore now armstrong this year thirty years old. He's got an eight five five in twenty innings. He is expected to be sent to triple a durham for the tampa bay race but the race looking at some injuries. Looking at the moves they've made felt like it was time to add to their bullpen. And they got him. Basically for sending cash to the orioles so baltimore has some flexibility moving forward on some of the moves that they can make the philadelphia phillies made a move. They acquired left-handed pitcher. Brayden ogle from the pittsburgh pirates. For catcher abraham gutierrez now ogle was a fourth round draft. Pick in two thousand and sixteen. He is a triple a. Arm that is heading to philadelphia a three point. One three era eleven point nine strikeouts per nine innings. Six point five walks per nine innings. So they call that wildly affective basically a guy who's got fantastic stuff but he can be all over the place a ton of walks a ton of strikeouts keeping your on your toes if you're certainly stepping in the batter's box against this guy. The twenty four year old is yet to make his major league debut but ultimately all the arm so we can get here in. Philadelphia is what we're looking for whether it's a big league armagh bullpen arm rotation arm aaa aa. Whatever it is we're certainly welcoming of adding any style any type of pitching here into the phillies organization. Now going back to pittsburgh abraham gutierrez. He is a low a catcher initially part of the reported package. That philly was sending a pittsburgh for tyler anderson before that deal ultimately fell through so pittsburgh was still very much in on gutierrez wanted to add to their system and the phillies were able to finagle a way to do a one for one trade by adding left-hander brayden ogle instead of tyler anderson back to the organization so the phillies like google part with a lower level catcher as they have some higher prospects in the organization at the catcher spot. So certainly someone you could part with if you're a phillies fan. The brewers they acquire left-handed pitcher. Daniel norris from the tigers. They got him for right handed. Pitcher reese olsen so no how left-hander. Let's see. he's done very well against left. Handed hitters this year holding them to a point five five opie s so very good when it comes to lefty lefty now they added some other prospects across to other deals as well as escobar who we talked about on thursday's episode so the brewers continuing to be busy they like norris and they also Let's see here the who they sent back reese olsen olsen was a former thirteenth round selection in the two thousand eighteen draft and he is currently at high a so he goes back to the tigers organization. We're he'll be high. So nowhere sees a free agent after this year. He's got a five point eight nine. Era over thirty six innings. So he's he's had a tough year across the board but again particularly tough on left handed pitchers and holding them to two hundred average in a five fifty five p. s..

"To. It's the closer carousel already. Mentioned a couple of bullpens. So we're not gonna go over them again. Seattle change texas will change on a why they would keep ian kennedy. But it's not gonna be joel. Joel rodriguez next line. Because he's now a yankee where just bores is now on the injured list. I believe now. I think it's paternity. Oh that's right. Trays but pete fairbanks were on the list. Left it that yankee game in the middle of the tenth inning. So i bet kittery would get the you know would move up in the hierarchy hereafter. Dr castio but you know they're going to make a trade of some sort. Get something else Any other richard. Reid is still pirate. Maybe he's be affiliate today or maybe will be. I don't know. I don't have the trade after the the trade. The other day blew up for tyler anderson. We didn't talk about taller anderson early. Because i don't think he manages all we didn't talk about cesar hernandez earlier says hernandez didn't get traded didn't white sox caesar trade. The white sox heroin passing white sox are finalizing the acquirer cesar hernandez. Yeah all right. they need based. Oh that's very interesting to me. I well tell. Anderson happened three days ago. I think it was a little different than thing got seconds ago. I didn't even know about that. Four affiliate who has basically decided. I'm going for power and do nothing else. Hernandez is eighteen home runs. But he's not getting on base is that he's only slugging fourth thirty one. He's not really having a very honest with you. I had no idea hit the number of homer jesse had. I'm watching the game yesterday. And they mentioned that's the eighteenth homerun. I'm thinking eighteen homers. I didn't think he can ever hit that banning in a year. No i knew it. Because i cut him in a league where i could use that power next year. I really thought it was in the low double digits. I mean eighteen is selling afra power but you know the white sox aren't going about him. I lineup so no he. He goes there and bats. Eighth or ninth. Actually they with the white sox never know. I agree with you all by all the you know by all rights. He she got seventy nine anyway. Back to the closers. Is there anything. So the arizona had walking. Pitched the eighth inning and tyler. Clippers is pitched pitch the ninth inning or in wednesday's win so i don't know what happens there but they both could be traded so again. This is kind of for monday to find out who stole round. What if that was just to to trade candidates that he could handle a everybody leverage role clifford trading for tyler clifford really. I'm sure that they are shopping around. Yeah i mean at the you. Get nothing you get cash form. I mean like two teams these days. Maybe that's a win. I don't know that's the only thing. I can think i otherwise. I don't take anything from his getting save yesterday. Heller rogers on the injured list. Hunter roma's another trade commodity. But he's they're closer now and i. I doubt he would share it with anybody else. He's not very good he's he's taller clifford lake and look. I say not very good. I couldn't do it. How rowley stocks. But you know. He's not a great option fantasy. Let's put minnesota's not gonna win. More in the final two months trail away crews a burritos according to our editors on their way out. So you wanna run up. Jose barea tonight. I you know like rice. I'm very surprised that the twins trade burritos. They must feel that the return they're getting is worth it that the prospect capital. They're getting back wing. Ninety games next season. I know only major changes. They don't know some crews and they can get him back So like i don't understand why the twins with cell like important pieces of their roster that had that they have team control over for next. Jose probably because jose burrito says the add water escobar pitchers is underappreciated period. I think he's a lot better napa. Yeah okay no no no you welcome in the top twenty starting pitchers so when i said fifteen minutes ago escobar. Nobody has a top underrated. Now the player. Just the word underrated right in here. I'm looking at the schedule here. Thursday's action has already begun rain. Well maybe not because the rain philadelphia and new york but Let's look later in the day here and see if there's anything interesting to discuss and ed rodriguez a boston is interesting to you. Leave last outing after like an inning. Or something. I don't like this matchup like rodriguez as a bilo right now. I would get a jump on that bandwagon over under for pitches innings for david price at san francisco. Today i'll set it at four and two thirds and seventy five bitches. That's the problem. Yeah that's a good projection. I'll take the under in the over. But i can't ask for david. I cut them in a shallow league. Because i can't. I can't invest in a guy he's not gonna pitch mornings when the next next start is wednesday home. Houston that's also not a unappealing matchup. So when are you getting to use them. You're waiting and other weeks. I can't wait any longer than that league. Friday schedule again. The big the big deal on. Fridays day games. The trade deadline's at four. Pm eastern time tristan. I'll be writing about it. Entre will be doing forecasts or for the sherzer and burritos trades and whoever else gets moved. john gray. You know. there's rumors about him going to the phillies which frankly will be the most like other than rick or selo signing with the phillies jon. Snow going to the phillies would be the most awesome thing for me to discuss this show on monday. But i think it's interesting though. Just an congress having a good year is that india friday night. What did he ends up on a team. Obviously and of course. Like a we gonna say i want your opinion here because we know we may not get monday. What do you think of john gray. If he's on pretty much any other team. And what i worry is that the teams most likely to get amar yours and mine. I think he will get traded and i actually think we should take them not seriously from the top twenty five fantasy starter standpoint. But we should probably take him seriously on the back end of mixed leagues. Because i do think he is a skill set to get by. I just don't think he's a great pitcher. I think he has skills to get by outside. Of course tell me what to make these splits home. Three point one four. Er a one point. Oh five whip away. Four point. Four three era one point four eight whip. Is that just noise that we should ignore. Probably yes the only suspicion i have is. There's something about the mentality of pitching course field that he adapts to that maybe he does have a very distinctive approach. That's different at chorus field. That would i actually think that would work against him if he was traded outside. Because then he'd have to shift everything but it might as you said we simply noise framer valdez. Just walked someone. While i was thinking of talking about him over because it seems to me like he's really hard. Hit but every outing that's six walks into his past. Three outings and one of them was against texas. With nary hit allowed but six walks he.

"Seconds. Reas who i do think is actually pretty close to learn kershaw but not quite in their levels all say three guys that they can fully rely on and say are. Let's go locked in but then it it's wide open after that so i think they're going to get somebody regardless even if they do. Like which is i agree does. But if he gets bombed out then i think they. They looked to get maybe two three guys. So you're right. That will play a role. But are you thinking that. He's a triple digit type of guy. This weekend i mean let me give you a scenario. I let me give you a scenario for sunday since that's gonna put so much on it. Five innings three runs eight strikeouts. I think he i don't know. Let's not talk in terms of digits anymore. Because i think everybody's league very few people can afford triple digits People might flex that triple digit in my and they can probably should. I mean especially if you're looking for pitching what pitching coming into the league Especially in your in your twelve or fifteen team leagues rang. Now that that is worth anything In i mean he was really impressive. Going up against the giants. Obviously i watched every pitches vis a vis appearance Fastball command is his only issue like he just like he can get to the zone. So the control isn't an issue is stuff is on real You know almost twenty percent swing strike rate. Thirty nine percents. Yes w You've got forty. Three percent owes swing in that In appearance like the stuff is really really good but he just had a hard time locating within the zone And that's what led to the home runs to the home runs. Came off fastball. Ball went off off curve. I think he is worth like twenty to thirty percent of your remaining thad and maybe even more depending on your situation So i do think he will. Probably there will be leagues in which he goes for. Triple digits I can afford him. Yeah i might have. I might have a league or where because you know in. Nfc is going to be available. Virtually everywhere. I think it will be everywhere because no one. No one drafted him. I don't believe anybody. Seventeen starters in dodgers rotation Yes so because that's the only way he becomes available. Every single one of my nephews leaks. So it'll be and all those and then a lot of other leagues. I imagine to as you can stash prospects. I think he is going to have a range. I agree is going to have that sort of range where it's like man. If i was in the rightly. I could've gotten him for forty two dollars. The guy the guy in my league put up one hundred forty eight. So i didn't get him so it's gonna be something like that. Here's what i'll say. Don't skit bidding. Because you assume that somebody's gonna put a huge number put in your bid even twenty seven dollars because you don't know and that's that's the best advice i can give. We don't know where it's going. It's going to be a wide range but just put in your bid. Even if it's single digits you never know. I guarantee there will be some main event where he goes single. Digits happens with every big pickup. And i always want to be in that league there also be like main event leagues where or at least one league where there's no backup it. Yes so frustrating to unless he dominates on select dominates on sunday. But i mean it's it's the rockies at home right so yes attached and fine. So that's i agree. vidal brouhaha got sent out. This was kind of waiting for that. Other shooter drop Just just didn't really work out. He never really hit the ground running. And that's kind of what he needed to do to show that he belonged because they have other options so i don't really regret taking the show on him with the upside that he has but it wasn't there he went to for twenty six Three runs to rabies and stolen base. And he's back out he could be back up again later if they if an opening happens or in september but for now i think you can probably cut in most leagues right. Yeah yeah i also think this is oh bilo opportunity in keeper dynasties absolutely I'm already tried. Do it in in one league didn't work and it probably won't work in most but just you know check in on the The the brew han manager in your league and see see if they're willing to To to sell. Oh even if they're competing. I was gonna say especially if they're gaining then then you could parlay that Like hey i got some peace for you. That can help right. Now if you want to move on That's that's the way. I would try to play that being said you know i i was really high brew on. This is super disappointing for me. And i'm sorry to those who did vessel without on on him Because i you know. I really thought he he had. He does have game changing upside especially this late in the season. It just he. It just didn't work out. Like i'm working on a team where they can't afford to wait and they have so many other options you exactly. So that's the thing too. So you know again. I don't i put thirty six dollars on him in the main. I have no problem with that. You know. I think that that was a crazy gamble personally so it was. It was something. I took a shot on and it did not work. Let's talk about the raise a little bit more in a bullpen. Update on them. Because diego casio was doing great and getting saves and then is not and. I don't really know why it's just tampa bay rays. You know chicanery here. Because now pete fairbanks has gotten the last two saves You know diego casio dig. Get one on on july tenth but then his previous was june twenty fifth. He's not pitching poorly. It has nothing to do with that but he came in the seventh and a game and struck out. The side came in the fifth in the game. Got one out for the hold. That was a In the fifth inning there seven inning game. So it's not like he's a middle reliever all of a sudden. He's finished a bunch of games that he hasn't saved in fairbanks getting some saves. and then to complicate matters. Further nick anderson through ep. They're looking again him. Back in in august so i guess the the general question is what do you make of the raise situation right now. I know that we always expect turmoil. But to this point we really hadn't gotten that there were twelve saves for diego casteel through june and he was kind of the guy in so far as tampa bay ever has a guy and now all of a sudden it's starting to change. So what do you make of it at this point with with the raise bullpen situation. I mean they've always been a team. That goes some multiple guys. And i think the difference was. They didn't have a lot of healthy guys to go to and the team starting to get a little bit more healthy and i think they're gonna continue to play matchups. I think this is going to be frustrating. Castillo is still a very valuable reliever in fantasy. I mean he is not allowed in a run in the last month. So that's good And yeah he again. He's not pitching poorly nice pitchy. he's not a negative..

"Fifty seven five forty three ice. so that's that's quite high. He has to thirty seven. Wrc boss his. He has a five nineteen wober band. Five nineteen over. I love the lion that he put up on sunday so much because it is just everything that he does. Well as a hitter including some of the things that i still think despite the fact that you and i have both talked about them and both told people know pay more attention to this part that he does not get nearly enough credit for so yesterday he went three for four with a homer. A triple a double hit three. Rbi to runs scored. He stole a base and he walked. He did not hit for a cycle. But i submit to you that this is more impressive than yeah. I've been she got on base. You got to i via the wok but he got himself to second in essence. It's basically the same as a cycle and he. He did the hard stuff he did. The hardest parts of a cycle right. He hit a full year. W at home run. Boy what a homerun he hits you. It's hard to choose between the best home run of the weekend. Because that's the friday home run. He hit which according to statcast went. Four hundred fifty three feet and it was like a hundred sixteen miles per hour off the bat and it hit the d ring catwalk at tropicana field and joe maddon who has managed many a game at tropicana field disputed the four hundred fifty three feet measure. He said that's wrong. It hit the top of the catwalk above the scoreboard. There's no way that's for fifty three. I'm sorry i've been here many times. I've seen that in a game or in batting practice regardless that was an absolute bomb which he followed up in that same game with a bunch at goal which he does from time to time his fourth bunt single the season and every game in which he's had a bunch single he is also hit apollo hundred miles per hour or more. Just showcasing everything you can do. And then yeah on sunday. He did it all the double which like went. Almost all the way to the wall was broken-bat doubled doesn't matter. He hit out there anyway. And the home run which was off pete fairbanks who is a good pitcher and had not allowed a home. Run to a lefty in his career. He has career reverse splits for whatever that's worth and otani takes of all ninety five miles per hour on the inside corner takes it otto just like several rows into the stands in like left centerfield. I been. I don't know how he does that sort of thing. I don't know whether it's more impressive when he gets all of it and just absolutely crushes it or when he doesn't get all of it and it still gets out. It looks like not cobra new ever seen other than i don't know maybe some giancarlo stanton shots right. He's in he's in the ninety third percentile for sprint speed. And the ninety eight th percentile for hard. Hit percentage he is he is in the taff percentile for max exit velocity. He hits the ball so hard he runs. So vast isn't present over bear percentage surly stats like i we. We've ruined minded people that that some of these stats are are descriptive. Some of them tell you a little less than you think. Like really average exit velocity. Sometimes you gotta look under the hood on that one and then you look at show a tiny like holy moses and the recent site his war which like normally with someone who's so hot i would be cautious about saying you could just double it or extrapolate over the full season. But he seems to be getting better in ways. That are pretty believable. Like his full season expected. Wilbur is the same as his robot. You've been a little higher. So it's not as if he has been especially fortunate on batted balls he just crushes the paul constantly and on the pitching side. He has totally curtailed the walk problem that he had earlier this season. And so that makes me optimistic. To in addition to the fact that he's been more durable he had a season high pitch count his last time out and he's pitching now sometimes with five days restaurants instead of six days rest so seems like he's getting more innings even if he may be has a little less good basketball luck going forward you might make up for it in just spoke workload so again like can he sustain this for a full season just in terms of energy level. I don't know but nothing about the skill set makes me think regression has in store here like if you took the same model of otani and just had him keep playing games than i believe that he could keep doing this. So that's what makes it so amazing to me and you could hear in my voice like i just have this dumb grin on my face like hours a day with just watching him or thinking about him in seeing him. Excel in this way. So really sam used to do those articles at espn app at the most watchable player in baseball. And he did that the last couple of years and he came up with the answer for netease which obviously he was the most watchable player in baseball and he hasn't done anything to lose that title. He is just as watchable as he was. But i feel like tiny has taken it from him and that's no slate on tattoos. Obviously who has been amazing as well and you're my which may vary in your parents for angels. Baseball may vary but still. I just don't see how anyone could be more watchable than otani has been this year. It's just been an unreal. Incredible run and totti's was asked over the weekend which player he's most excited to watch and he said otani to. I guess he couldn't have said himself. That might sounded sorta conceited. It's been. It's been really spectacular. I feel like when trout went down. I don't want to say that there aren't a lot of fun and wonderful players in the game. And and so i was trying to not be sad but i was sad that we didn't get to watch. You know the version of trout. We had was just like so incredible. He was putting on such a show in the early going. And i still miss watchin- that thumb looking guy play baseball. 'cause he's the best but i feel like between vati antar t.'s. And otani. It's not that i don't miss him but i miss a lot less than i thought i would. And it's been such a delight to have you know just another reminder that we are so fortunate to get to watch such incredible players right now and when you look at the top ten just on. This is just on the position player side. So you know. I'm not looking at the combine more leaderboard. You've already talks about how his combined war stacks out but you look at the top ten warleaders on the position players of grass right now. And it's you know we have vlad at the top and then carreira ronaldo kuni junior zander. Bogart's nick cassiano cedric. Mullins.

"Of catch up with them. Yeah it's probably some of that You know my My podcast partner. Jake is is a much bigger guy than i am. I do like him. I like the power speed combo However he's he's Not really running much. He's only got to. I mean he has been caught twice but he's only got two steals so far this year on his swing strike rate is is way up to thirteen percent whereas he's usually last two seasons eight and a half percent You know he's He's another guy on that next peace crushing fastballs. He's another Good fastball hitter. You know he kind of looks in a lot of ways His metrics actually very similar to dylan more But with a lower barrel rate in you know obviously way less steals though. He can run in the rangers. Do like to run I i don't really know what's what's going on with him. Totally hear nothing looks out of place. He just kind of looks like a a mediocre hitter right now but projections have him at twelve homers. The rest of the way for steals later said the rangers. I don't think you're gonna stop running. I don't think you can get a ton of deals out of him but you should be able to get a to forty five to fifty five average. Somewhere in there I i think he's a guy you stick with But it shall release. You could certainly move on. Jason are you out with solon. i Guy you know one of the things the the issues hitting lefties has really been the thing that he's done well hitting righties has been a career problem. Form is not like he's got a ton of time at the major league level but we're looking at a body of work of four hundred plate appearances so we still have some time for some stability now and get some stability step but there's a sixty four points split his batting average between lefties and righties three hundred dollars lefties to thirty six against righties You heading into this. You know coming into the season or looking focusing just on the season it's to await a against righties in two seventy nine lefties in. That's really what it comes down to he is a guy that does mean. He has a reputation of being a high. Contact hitter has his defensive issues which is why he was traded straight up for pete fairbanks Two years ago as it happened so there are ways to set up select for success. But you know he does have his limitations. And if you throw them out there like on a audie first-division club do you some old language like at a first division club. He is not everyday player because he plays texas. He mostly is and so. You're you gotta take the good with the bad. And there's a reason why is batting average downs. The reason why it's stolen base opportunities aren't as Frequent as we had helped because he just doesn't get on basis much against rights and they're facing a bunch of writings. Yeah the the underlying metrics are a little bit troubling to me you're talking about. He's a guy who's always made a lot of contact. He's not doing that this year. He's not a seventy nine point. Five percent zone contact percentage. He's swinging outside of his own thirty six percent of the time And the ball. Well new ballpark. And i. I wonder maybe like i. I the first thing i thought of is he just not like is he having a vision issue now because to go from a ninety two percent zone. Contact percentage Last year and eighty eight percent zone gone. Dak percentage The year before down nine percent is is a pretty sharp. Drop off in the swing. Strike rate is double digits in It's thirteen percent. He's never really added double digit Straight except for a small state in eight with the rays that can twenty nineteen so. I'm a bit concerned by. He's also swinging more so not only missing but he's also swinging more so kelly i guess in this way the opposite deal more needs to be. Maybe a little bit selective. Yes i and i think that is exactly the issue so I i like nick But one of the reasons. Because i did think he had more power in that bat and he was running and he stole seven bases on eight attempts last year in like they had mentioned. He's two for four on the base paths this year. This is on a texas team. That will hicks the run. Like they're just not letting him run when he is on base It's a bit troubling. I mean you're not dropping him. I don't think because the positional value in a is is really great. India's is playing every day so hopefully a work his way out of it but I think people are realizing how bad he's struggling right now. 'cause you've gotten those early home runs But it is not been very good for mr shellac and i would definitely try to reserve him in my league Demonstrate to hold on and hope that he can turn it around though nate lau Is struggling Sorry nate low is struggling. Ah-ha he's got a seventy wrc plus that actually went up yesterday. It was more in the i. Think the twenty two range When i wrote this up jason. You've been innate low detractor Having seen him so much in tampa. Bain you turn me around on him Because i was a little bit more excited Like a lot of the industry. Where you on nate low. Who started off super.

"And making movies is brought to you by linked in jobs. Build your winning team. Today, go to Lincoln dot com. Slash sports. Okay. Fernando to tease and Marcus Sami. And on Friday there rostered everywhere. Well, here's a guy Danny Santana in Philadelphia on Sunday in his second game, Be homeward Friday and on Saturday homered and store base give. Give me your impressions here of Danny Santana, because Two seasons ago. He was really, really good in fantasy, and there's something there potentially. Yeah. Then there is something there potentially like there was in that one. Really Good Texas year or and I think his rookie year was pretty decent, too. Yeah, he did it. 3 19 average seven homers. 20 steals 101 games. Um Santana frustrates me. I would, Adam. I'm optimistic, you know. He's got a somewhat flawed skill set. Kind of the way that Josh Harrison does to me. That was the first guy that came to mind otherwise that you know, players like this can sometimes Put up some these numbers and I just just the orange most likely. So if I told you that Danny Santana would have 15 home runs and still 15 bases, would you say that's wild or realistic? I think now I think that's realistic. I think it's going to come with some ups and downs, but I could see him getting there. You know, I really didn't think he'd do that. In one of the reasons I didn't rank him on the preseason. What's the injury? I thought the injury would take a lot more from him. And actually delay his debut this year. Apostol Garcia, another brewer. A lot of rulers talk today he have a combo meal on Sunday. I didn't realize until I was writing about writing about the new shortstop, A Thomas. He's like they're only good, right handed batter, and he's not even that good. I mean, they've got Lorenzo Cain seconds having a terrible season. He looks terrible. Obviously. Garcia bats fourth or fifth, they better I'm wearing abayas, a lefty catcher like clean up. They desperately need here in Addams. I need right handed power in that lineup, And there's an opening there for somebody to about second. It could be here if it could be a Thomas. But it's very interesting that Brewer lineup now the yellow just back. I think I'm going to go on a run here when these guys all hit, but somebody one of these right handed batters going about second, it could be a Thomas. It could be a hero. That's what's interesting to me. And Garcia's been batting pretty consistently forth, playing a lot against right handed pitchers. You mentioned that point that they're struggling and to get production from the right side of the plate. I actually think he's one of the most underrated players in the game. I really do. And I'm not saying that means he's a star. It's just I don't think anybody even thinks about obvious L Garcia. He does put up some decent numbers. Okay, let's move on now. Time for you to sing about the closers to little a little studio. It's the closer carousel not going on today trying to e mail as I speak. Okay, let's talk about the guys that have a big got in this trade. For really a Dom. It's one of them got to save on Sunday at Chez Pierre Fire eyes, and I think that's how you pronounce it. I'm not trying to say it right? I believe that is how you pronounce it. But that's interesting because he's got good numbers this season, and he throws hard. And camp Obey has Theo Castillo. They've shown they've shown no want to use Pete Fairbanks is the closer during the regular season. I think you could make. I picked out fire eyes in one of my leagues. Think thinking he might get some saves. And then he gets one on the second day with a team. Yeah, I told you guys, I told you on this show that he was gonna be the next in line to come on. Wait. I got the wrong team. No, He's another piece for Tampa. But they've made it clear They have gone back to the 2020 arrangement. And that could mean as you said, fire eyes and could get some more opportunities because he did impress in a couple of very key outings from Milwaukee. I You know, he's a pick up for the Yeah. I mean, kind of a journeyman type. You know, boy, that Yeah, they don't care. I think something damn Castillo is their leader and stays, But I'm not gonna predict he ends up with he's already in 11. Does he get 20 more? No. He doesn't get to 30. No, I don't think I know at the end. I wonder whether any individual saves eight games from this day forward any individual that bullpen. I wonder that it's kind of low for four months, don't you think? I think they're gonna shuffle things around. That's what they've been doing it. This is the past three weeks have been the 2020 bullpen. So I'm reading this story about how the nationals view Brad Hand struggles of late and I'm thinking, how come everybody in the fantasy baseball world and they all did knew that Brad hand? Something was wrong with his numbers. Last year they were misleading. Wasn't throwing his heart he was going to get hit. But Washington apparently did not know this and they all were so shocked that he's struggling. He's having a terrible May you got to save on Saturday. But I mean, how long like and then they're like, so confused all we were blindsided by this. How could bread had to be struggling? Look, the overall numbers on Brad Hand or not awful, decent relief pitcher here a 3 63, which was a little high because of the walks, But Gonna give up home runs. You know, he's just he's not that good. It wasn't that he had a bunch of saves last year, and a major league baseball team got caught on saves. Is that amazing to you? Brad head did not allow a home run. So they thought always great now, but he allowed 689892 every year, eight home runs, at least and eating. I don't know. I don't want Brad handle my team's the rest of the season. I'm sorry. I think I think I think it's Hector Nerys is gonna get saved because somebody has to, but the era and the whip, we're not gonna be fun. Yeah, like I kind of like that calm, and I think that's very much what he is. It's just that I mean, Daniel Hudson's pretty clearly the next in line guy right behind him, But I'm not while they're either They don't have a lot of alternatives. So I do think hand falls into his 30 35 saves with so salvation. They have Hudson, whereas the Phillies only have, I guess Alvarado. Now they can use our arch. Bradley's barely throwing like 91. So give me the same breakdown for the rest of your For those two handed narrows both end up with a round. I guess 30 saves, but they each have some struggles.
