"I didn't think it was too long which apparently is a growing thing. Now as I get older. Everything's to light is to everything is to loan to loud loud. I mean, the crowd is very loud. But UK crowd is. Always very loud. And actually thought they added to it rather than took away from it in this on this occasion. I just I really enjoyed it. I I watched it into because I was out and about doing stuff, and I was watching the first bit before we had to go out. And I did not want to still watching it feels like. I'm actually really enjoying it. Let's go get the dogs. We go back and finish it. But I loved it. How about you? First of all annex, t the x t brand I'm so glad it's under the next as I think that allows them a little bit more freedom to be themselves. I love the way this promotion is built I want more. But the fact that I'm not immediately getting more is. Okay. You want to want more? Yes. And that's good. You don't wanna be tired of it already? Yeah. And it has such late. You're right. It has such personality which I think. I don't want to be that person. Compare and contrast, but you look at it. See you K versus two five live to new brands that they have created similar time Latin similar number of people involved, equal talent on both sides of the roster. But you look at how they've created this personality and the character of an exceed K U. I believe it. I believe it's existed. Forever already. I just think what they've done with. It has been fantastic. I care about everyone. They're already I care about the stories coming out of this pay per view. So yeah, I just thought it was great the key. I had the same thought that you did I loved it. They're not really mixed up in the main roster at all I know in Ballard appeared, but but that's different that feels like a one offers. That was just a, hey kids. Look at this. Do you like this one? I don't wanna see Pete done getting lost in the shuffle on raw or moustache mountain. I think Pete Dunne's be a super saw. I think he's going to be one of the greatest, but the doing with him is genius is just holding back tees everyone with him show people where they can go and find him if they wanna see more of him. They are just letting it build and build and grow and grow. He's still so young so young is he what is he twenty twenty. It's very early twenties. Yeah. Yeah. They all that. So the great thing about any see UK there's a bunch of really young people in that roster. I mean, that's older people as well. Coming in with experience. I don't know how many times they said experienced during the mustache mountain. If you know this but seven has experience. Experience. He's bringing his experience. Oh, experienced seven. It's code old. I love that. So many youngsters on that roster's like Tyler bait is butter. We he's gotta be what twenty one. Yeah. Tony storm is really young Ripley's really young. They have so much talent on its Olso young. That's so much to come from those guys also think it's a good reminder when we think about international wrestling that people gravitate towards Japan because it's so altered and rightly so there's great work over there in great workers. And that style is influence, and then maybe people think of Mexico second. Doors, but the tradition of professional wrestling in the UK and throughout Europe is so rich be exposed to that in a way, you know, even if it's under the WWE banner, so it may not be the purest. It's good to be reminded of that style. And how many super talented workers? There are doing good with that. I mean, they mentioned during the country was really good on the show. Everyone was really really great. And they mentioned how mustache mountains scale was like tribute to other wrestles gone by bridge BULLDOGS. I think they mentioned the pre Dunn's Gail was a tribute to regal. It's really nice to see it being echoed through without. But yeah, like, it's it's a loud to evolve it's been allowed to be the new generation of it without trying to replicate which I think if anyone in any of the world of sports stuff, they're doing TV which is a British show..

"Whereas now, it's almost stood enjoyable last of in the back of my mind still gonna get home so credited how much respective changes. And like I. Even around sort of crazy. How's how is sleep been? Sleeping more than ever been home a little bit more. So actually the me compared to the last year's I've never travelled much in my life. Because I've been juggling a debris schedule along with an independent schedule. That's almost the not. I haven't stopped too old. So I'm still been semi busy since book being full five days. A week has been such a start changing I've actually had mostly than ever to complain. It'll change eventually. Well, that's awesome. Man was well, it was nice meeting. You air quotes. But this year mania, we'll get together. And you know, and Jay and can have some babies and. Yeah. Buy. We just said we're we're both fans what you're doing. And it was one quick chat. And then, you know, keep doing what you're doing man, you really laid the groundwork here for for the British scene, and and you know, continue taking upwards the direction you are. And congratulations on your success. Thank you. Yeah. Most importantly congrats on being a dad, dude. That's awesome. Thank you. All right. Good talk. Yeah. Great channel. Did before just from style. He's he's you'll well this even keel about him, right? Like, he's got his head on straight knows what he wants to do out. There does it. And I mean, you you have to admire a guy like that, you know, starting at twelve years old and having this vision in his mind of what he wants to accomplish. And and just keeps going especially when there's not a lot of options at the time, you know, like you saying for exposure and things like that. But he just kept plugging away kept learning his craft plying his trade and just started building these these these rungs on this ladder just kept it moving forward and good for him and good for everybody that's involved in that that that you k- and exceed K in the UK seen, man. It's it's long overdue that these guys are getting the platform and women that are getting the platform to to to show what they're all about man. I thought I started early seventeen. Jeez. I love that. He was in a pub. Great. And also wanna mention trend seven to because like, you know, a lot of people talk about Baid and done in the match that they have. But it seems like he's kind of the glue to that whole thing, you know, in a way he he seems to be like the he sive in between all of that stuff. I don't know how much that actually gets mentioned or or maybe. No. But that's just from the outside looking in. I'm saying, but. Yeah to. Yeah. Good talk. And obviously we'll be watching him at take takeover Blackpool. So yes. Yeah. Right. Hey, quick little little hockey talk. Because when we haven't, and I know that there's we got some hoes out there some Canadian and American hoses that will will enjoy a little bit honky talk. What do you think about the leaves? What if Leafs? Yeah. I mean, I think they're good. They're really good mean. I think they need a think they need a little bit helpful fence knuckle, tending goaltenders great starter since their Frederik Anderson has been their best player the entire season. I'm not not. They have he has bailed their ass out on so many occasions here Frederik Anderson has been the MVP of the main police this year. I think that GARRETT'S Garrett sparks the backup. I think he's when he's good. He's good. But we. Thing needs to figure out that. That's the thing about being a good NHL backup. Is you have to be able to commend cold and play about, you know, he'd he tore it up last year and the H L..

"Once again, it feels like it was never like him for this show, airing the inbox about which is what we thought we were gone. Maybe it wasn't about going. Well, like, you just said, you know, you had a chance to to work a bunch of annex t folks and your annexed by no, but and Trent and Tyler have had a chance to show what they can do as a tag team with with everyone. And it really just I think off the strength of your matches with everyone else. It's just naturally going to direct eyeballs over to this brand. So good way to unveil it, honestly. So I been watching your stuff and seeing your match like I said with ricochets the world and everything and just how different you make a match with a guy like that. Who who and we'll we'll get to Blackpool and your match Joe coffee. But who else right now, do you see, you know, you mentioned AJ styles being huge influence, and, you know, Brian Daniel, Bryan. So, but who are you looking at and go, okay. I'm looking forward. I always ask this because it's always interesting me too. Of like matchups in the future that, you know, the worldwide audience hasn't seen so who like can you not wait to get in there with? So the one I would be so agree. Not sure maybe brought less. I think that'd be really interested in. Makes a slow especially because obviously a lot of people. Would you saw stuff generally would always especially recipes star like something not really interested, but people want I just all about. Missile Rimington's that too. But then, but then not even in the annex t Brown still so many people have had a chance to to with. I got to do one or two independent to the Wessel. Elaborate on stay. We went out to really interesting people. And that's thanked to with all the different no branches of the tree of Debbie at this point, the talent pool is so deep it's like really I mean, there's just so I have so many options of and in different styles to just go out there and do something different. And have a great match. When a couple of things about what how am I gonna get debris without being end goal? And it reading about them any one way. I finally tonight, I'm doing stay. And then get main wasn't that so many clinical way for the company to get to where you wanna be along the way. It's interesting. You know, even briefly being out to do something you got to do to talk shows and stuff like that. The point that way the for brands can mix with the ones in the some different options over into the same which is never happened before. And I didn't really think with possible brittle himself. Like, you said, you just said something interesting to they don't kind of integrating all the different brands, and that sort of thing like, I mean, we see great Mustapa ALI'S doing right now on smackdown. You know, coming off two to five live. I mean, so the other is just so so much talent. It's really really great to watch. Expose themselves independence over in in Japan. But you could do we're going to send company up. There's always someone who's been chipping away for a few years the cruiserweight tournament. Almost run to the main stuff that that even someone like all the smo-. Joe people are not used to have on the dependence. He's been do that we've been discomfited, which is a really cool idea and Seattle. Times even more than. For sure. So we we got the next next UK? I guess I don't pay per view or two..

"Solar. So on who we all do the same stuff since then. Well, and you you talked about the takeover match. And I know for me like I said, it's like I I knew he weren't everything. But that was the one that really I and I don't want to say there is no expectations. But it's like one of those deals where you can kinda come in under the radar a little bit. And all of a sudden, you have a match like that and people go what the fuck just happened. Like, it it almost does. It's almost better for you to come in with like, all right? There's these two guys we know that can work whatever but hold on a second. What is happening right now. I know for me that night. That's what was going on. I knew you have good match and everything, but that as it started on fold like this is this is a game changer for these guys. This is great. Yeah. On a platform like that. Like what Adam was just saying? It's almost better lakes it or the Reiter than have almost too much hype. Or it's almost impossible to live up to that. And then you just go and blow the doors off at it. Just like, I said, it just takes you. You, and it's one of those ones to doesn't really matter who wins the match because both guys are gonna come out of a better at the end. We talk about that one on to tell it was a case of bright place in so many different ways. I think if it'd been any of the make sure of most of the people in the same way, I would come in the mohawk knowing this everything just seems to fall into place in the way, you know, toilet somebody that help train wrestled noon or somebody's not him. I'm been on around the country rests in each of every weekend. I'm saying, let's not not even talk about anything. That's just wrestles. You'll happens we cannot rest calling. So we were so compatible with with each of there wasn't any of that wasn't anything worrying about the match. It just felt like routine just on a much bigger platform. I think all of that stuff. I do just ready made for what place right on the best way. Possibly could. And it should Kogyo. I mean, it that's just such a social crowd. Great wrestling town. I mean, you couldn't write a better place for that to happen. Honestly, besides you know, maybe like Wembley stadium. But just even. What's would depend Chicago? Because like you say if it was a guy that would have been Ford Patia point a bit more responsibility in crusher almost two then and do something that was that was going to. Change restroom whereas in didn't fail that it didn't feel like the way of any guy. Brown was on shoulders. He just felt like we were getting this corner to do the same that we've been doing. Two years before you know. So you some. A case of glass time. I'm visits Tyson's wanting to and that's what really helps. Now was it the off of the strength of these matches that the it was then, you know, brought to you guys at this is going to become its own show. Or did you already know by that point like how how did that all shake out? We were from one something with. They had they did not win. Matt didn't know what was going to be exactly. And it was it was a long time after that much. Definitely feel dot much. Help cement a little bit. More just because especially well, especially the ninety one of it made them feel it was something they wanted to say and. A little bit more. We were told from day one and I bought regal triple ice from from even when we're doing the festival does this fulltime show. We don't know what we're going watch going to be not going. So I'm really glad in a way that cooked long topping because how happen off the back of this tournament. I've been taught at this. Am basement is different and unique. "So. Honestly, I would change it for the world. Now, I couldn't imagine investing now with the internet social media the way is because you expose. Took us so long to get any good at this. It must be, you know, the temptations shadow social media, you almost become famous open. All you're doing a crazy. Holly spot. Oh, well, something that I couldn't even imagine that now stupid if we do that they probably would have had more of a negative impact than than good. Will. So you talked about, you know, getting your reps in before, you know, there is there is this the spotlight on on all of you. But at what point did you realize like if we're using in terms of a rep won't what was the match where you realize you just, you know, dead lift at six hundred pounds like 'cause I I know for me the match that I saw where wait hold on a second. This guys, you know, doing some cool shit here. What do you think for you was the match that felt like the springboard to jump onto the next, you know, springboard and so on and so on, but what was the one that you you felt like put you on the map? This to to that of the the main one being the the spring bowl to as the big platform of guessing around the world to see it was myself and taller at takeover, Chicago. Because before that we didn't guy tournament still, and there was a wasn't the UK about was potentially getting show like they need to be something to expose to to the whole the whole rest in fines button more most of them that the fading of being Tyco is completely different. Even though we got a lot response. We got a lot prize and stuff from this tournament, and that being able to do any Steve weekly TV, you get obviously a huge compared to anything we'd ever before under the step type, two completely different fading. Even more more. So than when I got the opportunity to do rule. So many always on the on passionate funds that radio wasn't massive scream. But I guess the the. The question was when regal fuss wrestle not was kind of guess what what means that position to be faced heavily. And that was my show on the field. That was getting paid fifty times full in front of about four people. I was saying home, and it was just routine just show it, and I got a cool from regal. I never spoke to him before never met him. I don't missed the cold a few times he'd been so and about the third or fourth time. Stanford, connecticut. So about this up pick gilpin it was him. And he wanted to come see me. So I got the chance to wrestle much just in for him about four people that. It was obviously just for him rating. So wrestling, I, and I guess that was the much dot that really got me into that position that out on from from then on it was that was the..

"When was it that you got hooked on wrestling? When was the first time. Whereas like, right this this is it for me. My dad always talking about when he used to well spoil going more than Johnny Saint people out. So I had like all books new since I always being slightly interested having those books, but we didn't have access to watch it. It wasn't on TV. And he was but it was on it was on effectively table that we didn't get but eventually the rest of the channel. Which it didn't have anything. But it has ring of on that, hats course, in new Japan, all of the old world of sport. There's all kinds of stuff, and it may be only lasts for a couple years. But that was what radio to me, I could watch you twenty four seven school schooling capacity on and I know the show some obviously don't kinds of different places educate myself about whole wrestling kinds of all kinds of different stuff. Not not really hope to. And in doing our research for this show. Janai both talked about the fact that you're born in ninety three I started wrestling ninety two. Four so. But I. It's the one that expe- people. He's only twenty twenty one now. Title bayt. Oh, wow. Oh, man. That's that's not that. People. So. Yeah. And to be as good as you guys are at such a young age, and yeah because you started wrestling before he hit puberty, probably, but. It's just it's it's crazy. How far you guys have come in? What to most is will be such a short time. Even though you like I said you've been doing it for twelve years. Well, yeah, I think what what really helps with the fact that we've been doing it so long. We didn't really have a full to to be exposed for an audience dot could realize how bad we were. The house. He come shows and stuff that we were trying how best, but almost the people at the heart of the camps didn't really care that a lot of the rest of didn't really care. And so we had a platform where did reading we messed up. I don't think being out with the wrestle so into the right office. So I'm gonna give it give us this gives us years of getting in to get as we could on that. We did get a plot phone them out. We were good enough to on much people enjoyed good win. And look at it too. Right. Like, you said, there's you know, the hard to get the fans that were. And then there's even, you know veterans stuff on the show that they're actually on the show that don't care. I mean, we found ourselves in those situations to coming up where you know. It was just a chance for some guys get out of the house on the weekend that used to be wrestlers to hang out with the boys, and I have a couple of drinks after and didn't really care about the show. They just really wanted to be like weekend warriors, you know. But like we were out there taking it serious and trying to you know, record are. Our matches could watch them back and see we did that like we were looking at like a real thing. Right. I as as as a platform to get better and sounds like you much went through the same thing. We would for somebody to got us in the right direction people that that trying to send until they met while they really wanted to do. Well, but they didn't ready cause anyone who'd never been any good for the most part gone to the state. So it's Japan or just retired about point once they gone off TV. There wasn't many people. There's only a few that Williams and say about people who are still getting then do, but it wasn't around much. They're off doing countries because you couldn't make a good living in UK. The case decide the exact same thing. We just took a camera to every show that we could almost felt pointless wrestling, unless we could film, it should back and we'd make videos and all of that and try and try and get him out this..

"Yeah. I think that's the difficult. There's a lot of people in the u on trying to imitate dot com to Ghana style. But I think when it comes to mixing the two, and then I'm talking about trying to work out the personality saw things, which is always difficult in UK because we didn't have a platform. We didn't have somewhere with good regularly wrestling for the same audience could get to know people. It was more the camp show on style. Wet less in front of completely different audience children each and every night way. There was no real following. But that's why companies like. Progress or she'll be fought to prevent all these companies start stuff in the UK which did have that following which meant that. We were able to stop developing different personalities and characters and not kinda spoke. So they don't think it was make civil about that Smet me down this path. My end. Yeah. Because otherwise, you're tribute band less you make it your own, but I in going back to fit real quickly. I've always said like fit can make a headlock look like it's a street fight. You know, I it there's a certain violence and. An economical violence like there's no wasted movement with fit and I remember getting in there with them. And we'd never touched ever. It was it was a house show. And it was taker and fit against me and MVP and fitne- I started and I remember walking up going. This is interesting. I don't think I've ever felt this in here. And that's man, that's almost fifteen sixteen years into my career. So, you know, fit man, he's he's one of those guys that that is very creative. And does a lot of cool things. And I do I see that in your work, which is a massive compliment. I remember. So that when I did the about seven back, I got moved around all that in the ring and then spending on the and then do my thing on shows twenty figure out when it rolled around to this tournament of looking to to be able to work with on matches and stuff with together. And at one point I got to get in the ring him before the show and and toil put move around a little bit myself. Well, maybe after after studying a lot better now, maybe it'll feel different. Where's the exact same thing? You get completely different tiny Anyone one. around with res completely different experience. And I think now he's starting to get his props. You know, especially as you see this this woman's, you know, evolution happening and all of them to woman saying that he's one of the architects, and one of the people that has been constantly over the years working with them and end, always speaking up for them in having been there and seen that man. He was in there all day with those women working with them all the time. So propsed fit for sure. Yeah. Yeah. Back to you man back to you as well..

"Thought nobody'll patient it together. And then eventually find myself at Madison Square Garden with non the other lots from an XT and and having that to being not position, especially when. The UK run for still being represent an MP that grip attend not really special. Will kudos to you for figuring out. Like, you said you guys were were doing like new, and like, you know, different things that you weren't physically able to do. So what were you going to do to separate yourself and and set yourself apart from them? And obviously you've done that didn't really what was the moment where you were that bruiser. Wait name hit you because I love that name. Like, I said to me that just takes all. Just any limits, or whatever it was just takes it away and gives you something different. What was the moment that name kind of popped in your head? Was a joke to start with. So I was in the closeness of strict typing Bacchus had ROY. I'm just doing what playing gear and understood I'm gonna wrestling stall. Then figure out like I ended the fun at tour coin zephyr fall weeks, which is a similar experience show and arrested in front of two people some nice, it was twenty people to people that was just because it got arrested in every single day as going back dunk Carla. I'm we find housing type team, and we're days the name, and it was just about to call. It was about to fall cruise the whites and we would sell the Bruce away and put it on. So many never expected anything more of it. Like, I say when of maybe ten people and then anyway, when I came to the UK down. Grilled runs grow. He messes. Interested in Bruges and even doing so, obviously I'll book, and it was a great platform. So I just went I guess people like to an end the rest is history. It, you know, like, you mentioned you got the will ospreys of the world who, you know. He's a he's a video game. Also, like nobody's going to be able to do what he does like even rim. Steer is not going to be able to do what he does kind of thing. So you sat down your flooded. But there's gotta be influences. Right. Who who were the people that when you decided to go this route that you use started looking to cause I think all of us at some point growing up fans of this pick cherry pick certain things from certain talents over the years who who were your your folks that you that you study? Originally when I arrest in as a big fan of like the bring on his VERA on the independence of there was. Blind. Low key is all huge one I read so I guess that's why I'd like to the occasional lifeline as you'll see to comes from book forever. Mccray. Was trying to imitate that still I ended up in a seminar with Finley, and he got me open the ring and he threw me around out. I couldn't believe it. It was just from full progress in was for that to even just being ring him for two free minutes in the seminar. I didn't have a choice of moving me around from there is in a way that I've never read. I've never felt in pro wrestling before Steph. I'm not on it was on a mission. And I went back and watched as many videos couldn't talk to study how he was doing things and so tried out on on the show around the country. So he was. From that just been Bryson the roots and people out regal and just watching well types and then to the to the independence ball, and I'm not as well. "Years ago. Whatever is now there has been a bit of a gap. Then went will raise wrestling combat being the get the opportunity to bring it back. Give them a little bit more responsive and focus violence that was thinking we're going to get to my musters fusses. We come to different focus, which was that's built this from the ground floor. And and there's something to play the Rijo. Well, and that's I mentioned it last week because I told J that I was a little bit behind the curve and catching up and and did in an inside the ropes to are over there. And just in talking it was like man, I gotta get caught up on the flight home. So I started watching the show, and would I would I really like about like you said, it's even watching it. I feel like I'm getting on the ground floor with all of you. You know what I mean? It's like, it feels I don't know it feels like that that up start, you know, with some attitude chip on its shoulder, and they everything from from the music that brings it in and just the the different lighting and everything and also the different architecture that that is over there just feels distinctly its own thing. And that this got to be gratifying man because. Yeah. Throughout the years, we've had Johnny Saint mardi Jones dynamite Davey boy, regal Dave tailor fit all of these guys. But there was a huge. Void there in. Between that and now, and you guys are responsible for this. So it's got it's gotta feel good. Phil. You feel that when about devoid of one of the most gratifying things until the trend. Always was we talk about it is that limited about four Nemann. It was deployed that people like fit and people regal and Brookside dive all the guys that were there on win especially hot. And it wasn't TV. It was booming and the night were not America. But there was always that forty especially Robbie. Was upon you Casey in those voted out with the comeback. And then being proud of what was done on that field. It didn't just feel Brenton that were in the in the phone did have that failed in that much about it. Is the buildings that were doing, but is is the rest install also. So one of the most gratifying thing to this day I've ever done in my career was probably L and being with people. I saw them regal about it. I mean how much how much it meant to them for Bruce Russians come back. That's one of the best things. Really cool about it though is you've distinctly kept your own thing. Like, you said you're working frantic St. you work in ricochet, you're tearing it up with everybody and keeping your style distinctly your style. And and we talked about it again last week. We're putting putting over last week. And we love the bruiser way thing because you've truly made yourself. There's not a weight class now when I think of you or anything it's like, right? He get in there with Randy Orton. Yeah. He get in. There were seen him. He could get in there with Daniel, Bryan. He get in there with Moustapha Ali it your style. And just that name in the way, you carry yourself from a character perspective really has kind of knocked any kind of weight limitations out out of the way. I don't know. I just I love that nickname a love the mentality. The look in the style. And and you find yourself working Madison Square Garden like how. How does that feel? Is credit fame, especially 'cause what you've explained that was that was me down read laws in when the people in that was going to make an people will spray people mock on that could do things couldn't read. And it was inbound umbrella. Okay. I've got gonna hang out find that with people doing and without relying on on those kind of moves and those trying to about the hotline. So it really wasn't that much that process of figuring out especially of indebtedness tall old too. Since about Ben and on struggling hallway, open, Japan and funding lamb, and then eventually when I was starting to break out a little, I'm realizing, okay? I'm going to be different to the people who are breaking out. So it really wasn't. Cases in Donald thinking to myself. How are we going to do and nobody will buy about robbers address them on the bridge and all that?.

"Hello. How's it going, man? There's no bad value. Good good. Thanks do show. Thanks. Yeah. Man. We've never actually spoken before. I think. Briefly meant you guys at a mania? But you know, how many as our it's always, you know. Everyone's hello. Yeah. Like product cattle. I met you at the I think it was the second taping for the an exte- UK Brandt in London. Who's a super cool venue to to to be an sure was unbelievable the wrestling. But I remember I came up and I bothered you right at guerrillas. You're like five minutes from going out your match. So I'm sure you appreciate. About my our before that. But if you record recognize me about the game is so different. So. We introduced US House. Wait, wait. Wait, wait. So he didn't recognize you when you're in street clothes. I don't think so. And then we did a second time when I was in in my gimmick in the hole and then. Wait, wait. Let me let. Was he in complete asshole at I know, dammit. Trying to kill my heat Pete. You're trying to kill my heat. But I was at the same day. Okay. No. I think I did what happened was. I think I I was asking you something about your match or something before you went out, which I said, I'm sure you've probably pre sheet it, but yeah, we did meet earlier. But Yemen said we've actually been been, you know, we we talk about you a little bit on this podcast before. And we're both big fans of your of your work. And you know, obviously, you know, this this past year and a bit has been really huge for you and the UK seen as a whole. So which thought we'd have you hop on and talk a little bit about it. They lost two years have been mental. It's been a complete well win this one thing to the next. I'm not five minutes to sit back and think about what we've done. So it's always golden and stuff like this. And when I got to do Jericho's, podcast dot. Going out to to look back and reflect somewhat softened of the two years, especially on it gives you a chance right because you've been UK cham- annex UK Chan for like nine hundred fifty two days now or something like it's it's a while. Six hundred is close. Which is crazy because to thing that that this wasn't even a route fruit of the before until we came along is something that was out because departments. Eventually to commit up this whole this whole route that kinda about now with with different levels to the NFC Brian and being out to experience different parts of the company as well. It's not like just to stick to the UK's them. You know that could do that to see wrestlemania upbeat on the the snot none of live event of being on this wrestling, Madison Square Garden the. Yeah, I got my God. And every so every aspect to the call. And instances short space of time, which is some never focused happen. And and that's huge because that's one of the things that that I think can get lost. You know to folks that just see maybe a finished product on a or smackdown. And don't think about all of the different layers of learning camera angles learning which camera is hot, you know, trying to set up a match even in terms of of cameras being able to catch it. And and all those different elements that come into it. And it's cool to be able to before you've even been on our smackdown. That's that's all things that you're going to have under your belt because. The Indies are great. But they can only train you to a certain level there, the TV beast is a whole different thing. Yeah, we have to learn. So especially Mantyla because everybody was throwing the end about women. We had tryouts November December the press conference in January..

"Try to keep it clean. Resolution. Yes. We'll have him on the show is gonna be good get caught up with him. And and how much he's been turning up since well before he got the next to you. But definitely since and. Yeah, good Birdman. Do you? Do you make news resolutions? No, I don't. I was going to be a segue to something. No wondering just hit me. Like, I not a resolution maker myself. No. I mean, I guess I could say. Getting to get Aslam on you at some point. But I don't think it's really a resolution. You know, it's something you always aspire to try and do is to to slap him. My glorious Matt how? What else is going on? Right. Then I didn't know resolutions. No, nothing. Just I'm looking forward to kind of I guess in terms of like, right? Fresh start good. Let's let's get twenty eighteen over with and move on twenty nineteen and really just I'm just going to be home for a while with without the girls and just be partner and be dad. And and now that the calendars turned two thousand nineteen for me starts off pretty big not only do we have the edge and Christian show on. But show that I'm being I will be hosting on history can announce it now all you can announce okay, I can talk about it called night to talk about it. I don't think we talked about. Well, you think you alluded to it? I didn't know on Twitter and Instagram, which I'm now grabbing grant grammar, but yeah, it's it's pretty cool show. It's called night fight. And it's basically, you know, guys dressed up in full suits of armor using legit. Weapons from history from historical periods in history, obviously blended. They're not not sharp weapons, but the full size and weight of these weapons. Swords axes maces, and they battle about and try to try and meant it is intense. It's hard hitting and seriously had so much respect for all the guys that competed in this competition, man, they just. Really reminded me of of what I took away from a disease guys just would do it because they love it reminds me of like, you know, when we were starting out in in independent wrestling where you're not making any money, and there's no guarantees of anything happening in the future. You're just doing it. Because you love it. And you're out there trying to to to make a name in the same. Same kind of these tell these guys took a lot of pride and love what they did. And it was really really impressed. Every single episode, man. There was something different happened and Mandy skyser. Just toughest nails and intense and can't wait for everybody. See the show. It's going to be great. Well, I, you know, for my own cheap plug here when I watched Vikings, which is, you know, show them on one. It's pretty pretty and I hear you're stupid voice. Come on the commercial. For night fight. And we're we're basically taking over the history channel. Yeah. What to do? Misery. But yeah, pretty much. You got night fight. I you know, the season of Vikings will be finishing up fairly soon. I think, you know, maybe five more episodes left, and then then we've got the show. So I figure you know, what it's time for me to just cool. The jets. Kick back a bit chill chill chill pill. It out man. Yup. That's what you do. Now. That is what I do. And you wanna know how I'm going to do it do it on my purple mattress. Yeah. Yeah. Because let's face it Birdman better sleep better..

"No, he's he anyway, he's he's just a he's a tumbleweed. He's just he's rolling through life. He's dust in the wind. Yeah. Yeah. He's like a Kansas song. Exactly. T Booker t's having a match. He's back in there, isn't he? Yeah. Yeah. For for his promotion. I think. Reality wrestling, and he still still in great shape. Keep great shape poem sees not retired. He's just in the hall of fame out like you see her, and it's like he could he could still probably play for an NFL team at this point. You know, he's he's a freak not that he ever did what he could. Yeah. Great athlete. So obviously wrestled him. We both have tons of times. Always had a lot of fun with Booker. I wrestled chiampou. Yeah. Man. This time. I remember this one time I was wrestling for shampoo one of those travel days where it was like one of the travel days from hell where just everything goes wrong. Right. And we're wrestling in Omaha Nebraska, and I finally got landed in Omaha and the show had already started like half hour before. That's when I landed and. We were thick supposed to be under his at the time where they're putting Intercon title matches on like opening shows and stuff like that. And he and I were feuding for the title so jump in the car. Let them know. I was there is it just get here's fast as you can. So I'm in the cab and driving an actually like putting my tights and stuff on in the in the in the cab is I'm on my way to to the arena, and I get there. And I still had no shoes on. Know, I gotta tell in. But I. The were kept a very decent. So. On a cat. Come on. About the the arena, I run in and like the just coming out intermission. They said, okay, you're on right after intermission. And like literally dropped my bags and was putting my boots on as bookers music was playing to the to the ring in stretching and not that I was a stretcher anyway, the wall push up. I never stretched warmed up at this went out. And did it. That's how that's that was my process. So I went to the ringing and rocked that amazing match. Go some say still here south. I remember. Tell me otherwise. Didn't you guys doing icy title chain how show or something to? Yeah. We did. That was Booker, right? Yeah. Booker. There was it was was it damone Iowa believe. Yeah. They just wanted to change to to kind of shake some stuff up where? You know, let people know that things could happen at live events. And it just we were going to do it eventually. But I think got sped up to Booker hurt his back. And so we did it there anyway. And there's another time actually Booker was involved where we Jericho and we're going to drop the tag titles to Booker and gold dust at a live event. I think in Laredo, Texas, I think and Booker gotten sick overseas, and we didn't end up doing it. So oh from India trip. I think that's yeah. Everybody. Yeah. Booker. We'll have to have them on the show at some point too. Yeah. That'd be an entertaining one. So our guest today, we should probably mention we got the bruiser weight. And we talked about him last week. We we put him over pretty pretty big last week. And so we got him on the show. We got him on the show heading into an exte- UK takeover in Blackpool. So where where he's working Joe coffee for the next UK championship. Who also you said last week that you like what you said a joke coffee. So we'll get get his take on that was a whole group Wolfgang in the coffee brothers. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. So we'll we'll see coffee break..

"Announcement this week. Speaking of New Year's which I was in bed for I was in bed by ten by. Man. I so what you don't understand is. But you do understand because Iowa was at one point two and a half years old, ruby men. She just be we tried to take Benke away and bit of thing. It is like she. She tore the the curtains that we had custom made for her doors tore them off like warrior style. And there's this like brass railing at the bottom. She stands on it and just wrenches on the curtain storm off and truly like round the corner, and she's like baba on the door like warrior, she's maniac. And so between all of that. Then is just like I gotta go to bed. You know, we went to some friends and hung out for a little bit. And we got all the kids together. And we pulled up the New Year's Eve ball drop from twenty seventeen and counted down for the kids like, but then I truly treated that as my New Year's, and then we went home, and I went to bed. Nice. It's where Matt life, buddy. A good place to be a guess, it is it is because I was up at six AM and ready to go with kids. But while I was asleep. That night big announcement all elite wrestling. Yeah. Yeah. A big New Year's announcement. Yeah. So got a big press event on January eighth and Jackson that what do you? What do you? What do you think of the the whole to do their your buddies with that Tony Kahn? Right. Well, I've met him a few times. But I think you were the first first guy who liked told me. Yeah. The son of the Jacksonville Jaguars you dressing panted Menem strangely enough. Through Christner, Wenski, actually. Okay. And yeah. And had a little meal with Chris linski in Chris brought them and we had a conversation. I didn't realize what a big university. Fanny once. He was telling me about stuff that I had done in matches that I had that. I don't even remember happening. That's big fanny is. And he just wanted talked about wrestling. And I was kinda interested more about you know, the football side of it. So I was talking to him about football. And he kept trying to switch the subject back dressing. I kept trying to switch it back to football. Anyways. At one point in the conversation. I tried to talk him into firing his GM and hiring general manager of the Jackson Jaguars Jaguars. Yeah. So no what crazier things have happened. I've I've I I'll get off on my hockey tangent later on the close of the show, so going what do you think about this announcing what do you think, you know? He's he's backing it, obviously. Well, I mean, obviously, they've got the money for it. Right. I mean, it's still NFL team got some. Yeah. Can also also football team in England as well. So true. Wow. Obviously, obviously a passion for, you know, you know, having talked earlier that he'd be a huge fan of it. And you have young ambitious guys like, Cody and the owned bucks involved in USA success ahead with all in so. Yeah. I mean, I think. Like, I said, very vicious, but. All the luck to them. You know, I it's never bad thing to have, you know, places for for guys go out and imply their trait guys and girls. Yeah. Yeah. It'd be interesting to see who else they they're able to pluck from the scene and also from who knows contracts coming up and all that stuff could get interest in Birdman who who maybe you retire for that one more match who. Maybe they'll maybe those the signpost Matic..

"You are entering ENC's all of this. Berman here, we are just found out as we're about to record this about the passing of me, gene, Oakland, and I don't wanna you know, be bummed out to start this. But having just found out I'm bummed out. I mean, I mean. Anytime you hear the news of something like this. You know, it's it's hard to hear. But you know, guy, gene, legendary figure in the wrestling business, legendary voice, nobody had a voice like his was just a master of his craft. What he did? And you know, he was he was one of the voices of our generation, right? We grew up with me, gene, absent in oh. And to later become friends with him. And know that he's such a great guy. Always love sitting down having conversations with them. We had him on the edge incursion show first and second season. He was always so much fun to be around. Always just in a great mood and was just always happy to see people and talk and just one of those guys that you felt good being around 'cause he was always happy in a good mood. Yeah. And and dare I say that you think back to your childhood and mean, gene is easily as much part of of, you know, people our age and our childhood as HOGAN as Andrei because he was the one always there holding that microphone and leading the the promos, and and also adding a not only sense of credibility because he did have that great voice in that great Demere and everything, but also that sense of humor and the stuff that him and Bobby did over the years, and you could just tell their their love for each other. And and then yeah, like, you said having on the NC show and just how wide open he was. Yeah. Sure. I'll do that. Like really will you g and then we're planning was it pictionary or charades? Yeah. Against you. And mean, gene like think about that as two kids growing up in Canada. We're plagued pictionary with meaning Oklahoma jot Bodey. So we we send our condolences to to gene's family and friends and man, man. Yeah. Miss up miss running into him in like, I said, you know, he's just. Oh, always one of those guys whenever I saw him. Brought a smile to my face and love talking to him. And he just just a good guy. And he's gonna be missed for sure salute absolute legend legend. So birdman. New year happy. Oh, yeah. Well, you feeling because you're facing sinuses and everything we're all messed up feeling better or better as better still like, you know, still there a little bit not gonna lie.
