I like the effort by tyler. But not for me yes. We have another issue. No blue cheese with the wings has had bring it up. There were rumblings detail overlong to a lesser extent. No cellar carrots. "Hey, Uh, um T J. Jefferson with us. Michael del Tufo. Uh, Chris Brockman, you were going to get to some big time NBA breaking news about tonight's ball games. But first, um we just got done talking with Pete Doherty about the Aaron Rodgers situation. We actually got to hear from Aaron Rodgers. Today He was on a zoom promotional. Call with Phil Mickelson, Bryson, D. Shambo and Tom Brady and Brian Anderson. Who was the host asked Mr Rogers what you've been up to Very nice. Well, let's go from one quarterback to the other. Aaron Rodgers, the reigning M V P of the NFL, Erin some Hawaiian resort set up there. It looks like you're having a great time. You've really kept a low profile that this offseason I've hardly seen your name at all. You haven't Posted. Any TV shows have been involved in any kind of controversy or anything. It's been a nice, peaceful off season for you. It sounds like they are still yes, thank you Be. It's been one of those quiet off season. You just dream about where You just kind of go through your process on your own quietly. Um, you know, that's all you can ask for an older player in the league and someone who's been around for a long time and just enjoy that time to yourself is relaxed and not be bothered and not have any obligations or anything going on. You know, I think that's what this offseason been about. It's been about really enjoying my time and spending and where I want to spend it and not feeling like I have to go anywhere, not having any responsibilities but still being NFL player at the same time. It's been great. What jumps out at you, Ryan Leaf about Aaron Rodgers right there. The hair. Not that I'm offended T shirt He's got on the blade blade, uh, in your face. Can't ask me. Come on. I mean, dude, uh, again. I mean, it's the only background of any of them that looks like Hey, this guy could either be an NFL quarterback, or maybe just like a homeless surfer dude in Hawaii. A and that's maybe what is dude, I'm a pro. I'm offended. I mean, it's a great It's a great look, right? I'm jealous of the air. Well, obviously, obviously, I mean, that's We're looking at the hairdo right now, On my end of things here, um We're talking here. You know what I mean? What do we think about? Uh I mean, just the abstract, Uh, way he's gone about this offseason. To Pete Doherty's comments about there's been surrogates. There have been people who have been talking about it. There have been the team that has been talking about there's media that's talking about, but we have not actually heard Aaron Rodgers. Blatantly say the things that others have said that leads me to believe that Hey, At the end, he's got that plausible deniability of right. I didn't say I wasn't I just wanted some time alone. I was a little frustrated with how the season ended, how things have gone. But, hey, you know, I wanted to spend some time with my new fiancee enjoy the off season and get ready for another championship run. They're right there. I'm a consultant. Alright, That's people. You're looking for ways to kind of get back in the good graces of people After a whatever. And this is a very low bar for Aaron Rodgers. And compared to my bar, uh, but that's that's the answer right there, Right. I mean, that's that's the answer on the first day of training camp for him. Okay, Great off season. You guys were really up in my business, but I enjoyed my time alone. I'm excited to be back here was disappointed how the season ended last year. I think this is the best opportunity for me to win a championship and we're going to move forward with that thought process. You can pay me, Ram consultant. Uh, think everybody if you need any of that help, um a lot of problems if he just did that, but It's going, it's going about in a different way. He's offended. Clearly clearly clearly lately in front of everything, literally. Yes, right in front of everybody. We'll see where that plays out. You know, there was some Joyce joyful back and forth banter between the during the four of them about this, Um, this exhibition up in Montana. I don't know if you guys have ever been to Montana before my home state but where they're going to play. Up at Big sky. It is gorgeous. It's about 70 miles from Bozeman or the Montana State University is and it's a ski resort. Uh, since probably 20 years ago, uh, developer came and have built these This beautiful, uh, Club, the Yellowstone Club, Moonlight Basin, and we used to spend a lot of winter skiing up there and then summers as well, because I got some amazing golf courses, too. So this should be a really, um Well photographed event. We'll see How, uh Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady play And this type of thing. Um, it's gonna be awesome. It's gonna It's always so much fun to watch those things. Yeah, I want I want to pro golfers always in it. I did not like I think it was the the second to last one. I don't know when. When it was Barkley. Curry. Peyton. And Phil. I want to pro golfers in it, too. I don't. I don't know. I like I like the way they've kind of done it with one pro one, You know, Superstar athlete, right? Yeah, right against each other. Um, it's fun. Do not play a lot of golf together. We do. You are much better than me, but I'm getting there. I'm improving, but we have a lot of fun. Yeah, it's the most important thing. It is, um it is the it's been a while. I think it's like Around the first of April since we played last time, buddy, let's go. It was a fun day. Um, I was over there putting a little bit before the show started, and you Um, you suggested that this next year, I just kind of Try to firm up my game and then just For the fun of it because to see where you have how much different a pro golfer is from a single digit handicapper. So what are you handicapped? I'm a 1.5 right now. That is insane. That is ridiculous. So you know when you have a handicap that whoa, everyone probably gets on you from time to time. Like you ever try to qualify. You ever try to qualify for the U. S open? You're going to play in the column. And I think you should just lock in for the next year, U. S opens this week. We have one year lock in see how low you can go and let's try to qualify next year. Let's do it. I like the idea just so I can test myself and kind of give me a goal that that's out there. We can document it. T j we can we could find a way to document its indeed make it a part of, uh, maybe a check in from time to time here on the rich Eisen show to see the development. See where we're at. My my. My game doesn't travel incredibly well from my home course. My home course is kind of gimmicky it short. Then we went out to rustic a couple weeks ago, and and I threw up a 270 What I'm saying. So, um it's a long course if you if you live in Southern California, you know, Rustic Canyon. It's long. You can play the blues that's like 6600 yards. I, uh I like it. I like a joke. Clap this year tried to qualify. He's a single digit handicapper. Uh and he got, um, he got humbled. Yeah. People grew up. Yeah. I mean, that's gonna happen. It's gonna happen with you, too. I know it is, but I think it's uh It's a good test, and I just turned 45. Why not next year? Next year's Open is in Brookline, Massachusetts. So let's get let's get the car going. This is we're on the record. Now, everybody who's watching. Who is part of the show. I'm going to try to qualify for the U. S open. Yeah, Yeah, let's go. I'll go to caddy School for you, Right and Johnny Manziel help me. Brock Minority called the bag Will Mike Mike, I'm already on the back. Did you miss that conversation? You can DJ the event, though, bro? Of course I'm sad now, like you can create the playlist. That's also very important. I'll call you guys on that course I purchased as I purchase this, uh, this item from Bushnell. Called the wingman. I don't know. If you guys have heard of it. It is a speaker. But it's also a GPS. So the speaker is the speaker, uh, has has a magnet that sticks. Very securely on the golf cart, right, and it plays music with with with great sound, And then when you get to your spot, you hit a little button. It's a little remote, either. It's in your hand or on top of the thing. You hit the button, and it tells you the yardage to the center to the front into the back. Greatest thing in the world, everybody the greatest thing in the world I purchased this last year. Other than Disneyland tickets for my son. I guess that's probably other things. Um, well done. Okay, we we We teach this. Let's get to it. We tease this. I'm going to go to Brockman for this breaking news right now, because I think it's important, everybody, you know. Huge NBA news. Let's go. NBA Tonight. There's one game on the DACA at Milwaukee in Brooklyn, Game five. It is pivotal because it's too, too right now. And James Harden. Looks like he is going to go tonight. According to Shams hardened plans to play a game five. Barring.

"Long has he been covered? I'm guessing a long time. I don't know how long is Pete Doherty? He's been accomplished there for several years. Several years. He's about to get an education. I don't know what several means. That could be four. It could be 24. Listen, everyone knows Tuesday mid morning quarterback T. Mm Q. B is where the real star Mike Florio reported that a source is telling him. Aaron Rodgers wants a new contract. Her league sores. Rogers wants a new contract. He's making 33 a half million dollars per year. He's gonna win the M V P he's getting into the later years of his last deal. He's due to make 22.3 25.5 25.5. Although it's there's also a signing bonus in their roster bonus in there, he's gonna make 33 a half million dollars. Rogers currently ranks fifth and average new money value behind Patrick Mahomes to Shawn wants, and Russell Wilson and Ben Roethlisberger. Uh, Pete. Doherty said. This isn't about money. Didn't think it was about money. But I don't know if Rogers is saying, Hey, you want to have Jordan love take over for me. How about we restructure my deal, and we could make it where it's good for both of us. You guys can get out from underneath this in two years instead of three. I don't know. But I just think he's frustrated. I think he's probably perturbed at the franchise going back to the draft and You know what? He's got to take ownership here? He didn't play. He didn't play great. He played well, He didn't play great. Didn't play well enough to win. Probably not. But he had moments there where you know he played good enough. You didn't take advantage of Brady's Miss takes You can't have three and outs. Upon the Jordan love thing would never stop bother me if I was Aaron Rodgers, because as you said, before, they didn't fall to them. No, they went up to get him even just a couple spots. That means that was a move. That was a wasn't like. Oh, my gosh. Aaron Rodgers fell to us like it happened. They really wanted Jordan Love. That's not one of those where you go. Hey. Best guy available. Okay. I understand that teams sometimes had that philosophy. I don't always believe it. But with a quarterback. The fact that you traded up would bother me if you said We had a really high grade on Jordan Love. We know some other teams were going to draft him. Okay. Don't trade up to get him. I think that's where Aaron Rodgers looks back and says. Even if you didn't get me a wide receiver, maybe a tight end. Maybe another offensive lineman. Maybe a really good cornerback. Yeah. And I'm sure Aaron Rodgers would love to. I think he's gonna play longer in Green Bay to make sure Jordan love never gets a rap. Well, despite We? He has to play well to continue to play for a long period of time and green back in two more years. In two more seasons, they would have to pick up the fifth year option on Jordan Love. It's that quick. That happened. Are you guys for getting tea? Mm. QB is right around the courts all over my back. That was 40% of Americans. Don't even try that. Don't even try. We're gonna take a break. Are you act? Are you throwing a little hissy fit there? Yeah, I had that thing about Jordan loves contract. Ready to go right on my paper. I'm not getting Paulie. Did you see what was on make love ins? Death? I didn't know it was scripted it anyway. I didn't know there's a productive normally isn't scripted. You have Fritz He stole this day in sports history from Polly. Polly just did that to TM. And then all right, then we'll stop talking. Will wait Tuesday. Mid morning quarterback.

"I would have mixed up something other than going for touchdowns and I think the worst case scenarios you give the ball to the Buccaneers at the what? The 87 Yard line and then you try to stop Brady there. You still need to touch down. I have Aaron Rodgers. And a chance to score a touchdown to take the lead and then try to stop Tom Brady. I don't want to give the ball back. I'm not giving the ball back to Jamis Winston. I'm giving the ball back to Tom Brady. And that to me compounded the mist Ake of Kick the field goal. Then give Tom the ball. I don't I don't They don't have Analytics for Brady, Pete. You know what I think you hit on something really important there because there was think it was to either to 20 or 2 10 left when they were at the eight. So they had a lot of time. To run their normal offense. They could have run the ball if they wanted to. They could have run it three times and two minute warning. Plus, as you said. You know, you don't want to give the ball back to Brady. With all this time left all they had to be a little careful there, because if you don't get the two point conversion, then you need the ball back against. You Gotta leave a little time. You don't want to leave Tom Brady with two minutes and their whole offense, the whole reason that they're the number one Scoring offense this year is How effective their running game was and how everything played off that and Rogers was just lethal and play action and they didn't run the ball once on those first three plays, that would have been the perfect time. Early on one of those 1st 22 downs to run the ball and they and they didn't. I think they got it in the fourth quarter. The game was right there for him, and they got away from their identity and they became a draft back team. They look like McCarthy teams in the last few years where it was Aaron drop back and run around to make a play. Yeah. I gotta have the ball in the best players. Hands that I just I just have to It doesn't make any sense whatsoever to go. Hey, we're gonna let Tom Brady have the ball and I'm gonna count on my defense to shut him down. I don't like those odds at all, and I still got to score a touchdown, but You only have seven months to, uh, kind of think about this, Pete. You know, I can't imagine that winter has gotten a little bit longer there and man next season can't come early enough. You know, I'm I'm gonna go to right. I'm gonna have to address us at a column later this week, and I can already tell you what the first line's gonna be. It's gonna be. The circus is back in town because this is This is in its own different laid. This is Brett Fire, talking about retirement and all that stuff all over again, Bill boy, hopefully Well. Erin won't end up in Minnesota, though. Yeah, well, you never know. I mean, I really I I mean, I still find it hard to believe he won't be the Packers quarterback next year. But I didn't thought think Fire would end up in Minnesota, But he got out of the judge. Who knows I'm gonna book you for August. Pete, so I can have you back on and then we could talk about Was this a story Or is the circus truly back in town, But Thanks for joining us, and we appreciate your time, Pete. Thank you for having me down. That's Pete Doherty, The Green Bay Press Gazette. Me long that winter got a little colder. Mur. Yes, but this isn't like New York City or Los Angeles, where there's other things going on as other teams talk about. If you go to the Green Bay Press gazette like that, you know they lived at the little notches on their little things where it says News. Sports WEATHER TRAFFIC It's as Packers news sports in that order on their run down. The Packers are bigger than news and bigger than sports. It's Packers sport. Make love and has the Tuesday mid morning quarterbacks segment coming up TM. GM trademark. Oh, it is I not yet. Don't know he Mm Q Tuesday, Mid morning morning quarterback. I did some research that there was a Tuesday morning quarterback back in the day. This is Tuesday, mid morning Quarterback patent pending. Okay, Now, do you need time to set this up? You. Do you want to do it? Now? You want me to take a break and you get ready, Tonto? This is this a standalone quality. Then I'm Are you sure? Because every time I say, Do you want me to promote this? Is this a big deal? And then you go? Yes, And then we get closer to it. Then you go. It's It's really not that big a deal. I mean, let's be honest, like following Pete Doherty is like following Chris Rock. I don't want to go right after him. I need a break there. Why you taking a shot, and I was sure that was unnecessary. Got a shot? That's a shot at winning stories. Some of my Tuesday men boarding quarterback take care. You know, it was all about the Packers. And what? I need a little space from Pete Doherty. Okay, He's the Packers beat writer. But what does he know about the Packers? How.

"Have meaning. And right now here and now words From important people are critical and vital. And now here, Scott Waris, our number two on a Friday night. Spent the last half hour and we will continue spending some time getting your calls and your comments your stories, your thoughts, your memories of of Paul Horning and during the news break I reached out to a former teammate of his, and he is so kind enough to give us just a couple of minutes on a Friday night, pro Football Hall of Famer Packer Great Jerry Kramer joins us on WTMJ as we find them on the first Midwest Bank hotline. Mr Kramer. Good evening, And I know I speak for all of us here at the flagship of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee and the Wisconsin fan base when we we send our condolences. For your loss of your great friend and your great teammate and I was reading some of the comments. You said today to Pete Doherty and the Journal Suddenly, you said in talking about His ability. I'm gonna quote you hear you said Holy crap. This guy can do anything and everything He really could, couldn't he? He was multi positive, multi talented. On multi story He's just he could he could. He could do it all. I think that example of him dancing and singing and doing the thing is, it's strange Group of people blew my Back, and I just couldn't believe that the guy would get up and not only sing a song that was nicely done. He did a little dance with it. She could have a feeling. You know, Entertainer he was entertaining is fun to be with. Great to spend some time with have dinner and Missing. Miss him greatly missed him, Mama. Before he's gone even well, Yeah, we were talking in the last half hour and I mean he was he was like, right out of central casting. I mean, he could have walked out onto a sound stage in Hollywood and Let the movies you know, let the movie roles fly. He What was it about him for those of us who didn't know him? What was it about him that made him so s so charismatic with such a magnetic personality. Hey, was very bright. First of all, much, much more so than you would get. But just initially, he just would look at the room and remember the room or looking to play and remember the play or run a play. And know where everybody was on the field. He just just had a great grasp of the game and how play it what we're gonna do about it, and he He just could do virtually anything if they don't want any. He was not shy. This Mom would raise them is a young boy, and he was Incredibly confident it just really Have no doubt and no concern. And though you couldn't embarrass the guy couldn't commit. If you say something, and he'd cut you off or touch up. He's just a incredible football player. And you could do anything. I mean, he could Just, uh, just about anything you want to do and smile about it and have fun with it. Very unusual guy, and, uh, Great running back. Excellent football player. You know we could throw the ball. He could pick the ball. He could catch the ball. You could do everything with the ball and did And that's why he Won the Heisman ETA. Little place called Notre Dame. And they were like two and seven. The year he won the Heisman. I think it's probably the only guy ever to win the Heisman on the losing team like that. You are correct. The only guy Yeah. Yeah. Can you tell us about what? Your first maybe moments meeting him? I mean, you've you've talked with others today about the great friendship as it evolved over the years, But do you remember one of those early meetings, maybe just in the locker room or even if it was out on the practice field Yeah, I think I was intimidated a little bit by the Heisman. The Golden boy and the whole package. He was a formidable human beings. And you didn't want him is an opponent. You one of them is a friend. But it's just So many different places that seemed awkward that he made comfortable. Just by his attitude. Just by is motions and his reaction that different people and you couldn't help But like him, the other one will smile. And he looked in the eye and shake your hand or give you a hug and And you just, uh, invariably left his presidency, boy. Hell of a guy. He's really a hell of a guy. So I, uh I can't. It was the first meeting that made you feel that way and then subsequent meetings. It was determined that he wa said he was really something special. And it grew into a great friendship. And I, uh, busted my tail Whatever. Always, uh, in the neighborhood. I guess I gave it my best shot. He did to. You Never never let up and never took it easy in the game. He just Performed and they performed an extremely high level. You have spoken of that I don't if you would call the sixth sense or or whatever. He had just that in eight. Ability, obviously, but also just that that special bit of knowledge the instincts on the field with the ball. What to do where to go? Anticipate things before anybody else. Anticipated them, let alone did them. Yeah, He has a wonderful sense of where he was and where everyone on the field Woz and you didn't know if that was luck the first couple of times or feet. Maybe had run that play a lot more than you had. Or maybe he had Some other things going on. But he just was Wade run that sweet. Got and he should be 34 yards behind me. Maybe 545 And he knew exactly where everybody was on the field, and he would we would get to a guy and defensive player. And I'm in front of Paul and the defensive guy had to make a move. If he did that we were going to run over it, so he's going to go right or left or down. You can go down that your knees take you out, You know, open up things, but Rest of the team..

"The ride tonight? It's great to be back. My gosh, That was that was a full five days away from the show from May I mean the weekend included, but I don't know, if you you feel like this is work for me that feels like absolute eternity. I mean, world does not seem the same right now, as it did when I left last Thursday night, and in many ways, it's not above all you know what I want to say to all of you tonight? I mean, extra thankful. That you spent some time with us tonight, considering all that's going on. I think for all of us, if your various sports fan there's two things going on right now, eh? We're trying to dial into this game tomorrow night and find out Is it going to happen and try to learn the names of who is actually going to play for both teams, but mainly for the 40 Niners? And then the other thing you're paying attention to obviously has nothing to do with sports, except for it does have something to do with sports. And and that's the election and we're not going to get the final answer tonight. It's sounding like we might get some sort of a final answer by tomorrow. But then where does it go from from? There is going to be another question. But but that's kind of one of the areas where we we started off tonight is talking about how many of those cable networks have actually turned the election coverage into on actual Sporting event. You start the day out. You get to eight o'clock tomorrow night. All the votes are in. So in actuality, it's it's It's a final. It's over. You just have to go count it. You have to go get the scoreboard. But so much of the coverage actually turned it into a sporting event. This one's ahead. Now, this one surging. Here comes the big fourth quarter comeback that we all woke up, Tio and then I don't know if you watch this But if you're on R J Bell or Chad Millman or whatever. If you're involved with one of the betting sites out there, you're sending out on social media Odds every half hour in Realty. I'm that air changing based on what's going on in the election, and I tell you what I went to bed. And the odds on Trump went even further up. And by the time I woke up, he was an underdog. So there you go. You went and turned the presidential election into A sporting event. I'm sure I think I'm sure. I like the actual sporting events better than the defacto sporting events. But I'm sure the network's got everybody. They've got everybody watching as long as they want, And that was that was certainly the goal. I want to thank our guests tonight. Brian Baumgartner, America's favorite Packer fan. So much so that we allow him on the show, especially whenever Green Bay and the 40 Niners are going to play, However, tomorrow might be Aaron Rodgers and then other people in Packer's jerseys. Taking on people in 40 Niners jerseys almost like a pre season game tomorrow with the way it's gonna look, except for that Rogers is supposed to play the entire four quarters. Great to have Brian tonight. Great to have David Lombardy with the athletic and great to have Pete Doherty of the Green Bay Post cause that with everything that's going on with the Packers, so great to have all of you and thanks to my guys At the studio producer Danny Appreciate you Good work tonight and thank you, Shawn. On the wheels. Vegas Baby. Vegas Raiders Chargers week. Vegas versus Los Angeles. Unbelievable. I still can't write Raiders Chargers, Vegas versus Los Angeles. It'll never sound right because it's not right. But whatever with those two franchises, that's what you're going to get. I wanted to mention this as well. I bet some of you you're a big sports fan. You notice this. Even if you are, you might not have noticed it. And if you're not a big sports fan, you definitely didn't notice it because everybody was so into their their bunker. There. Their focus lie heard Greg Papa last night say he couldn't even watch Packers video. He went into such a political rabbit hole. And what Greg? Papa decides to not watch video of the upcoming opponent 48 hours before kick. You got something? You know You've got something really big If Papa is gonna put down opponent video Because you know normally and he will either way, But I mean, by the time you get to kick off, popping those first names, last names, middle names, names of parents names of every play. You know, I mean, it doesn't just stop with wide nine like he's one of the guys that when Peyton Manning yelled Omaha, Greg's like I know exactly what he's talking about The rest of us. Just think. Well, that's Gois yelling a city on American City, and ah, song by the county grows In the middle of the game. That's all that ever meant to me. Greg actually knows what that made so for him to put the video down that that really meant something last night, but If you saw this, you got a good laugh out of it. And if you didn't I wanted to share it with you tonight so that you could get the laugh tonight. Did you see that Major league Baseball last night decided to award The gold gloves. On November 3rd. In the middle of the election. Ah, baseball so cute. They try so hard they really do. They're trying They're trying, but it's a little bit like teaching. You know you're 75 to 80 year old parents how to use Waze. Or like howto use an emoji. Like you. You show him and they're like, OK, I get that they don't get that. And then you show him again. And then they may try and they'll do it wrong, right? You'll be like, love you good morning, and they'll send you like I don't know, like a bear Emoji or a giraffe or something. I don't understand what that means. But you know all fat thumbs. Who knows like it's a little bit like that, with baseball, tryingto explained.

"This is the I read comic books podcast. I'm your host rapid with me this week to fantastic human beings nick white. Hey Kate lanphier high. They keep both for joining me this week. This is the officially the last. I read Comic Books Episode of Two Thousand Nineteen which is kinda crazy. Because next week's episodes actually going to be airing airing on the first so we've got a whole thing but you know if you're listening to this technically. It's Christmas in the United States and across the rest of the world unless you're like forward and the time zone but but you know I'm not going to figure that out. It is technically Christmas today. That this episode comes out so if you celebrate Christmas happy Christmas if not happy regular Wednesday for you So I'm going to do the thing that I do every single week and I'm going to ask Kate and Nick how they've been held comic book spin. Let's start with Kate. I've been great. I've been really trying to do. The good reads twenty nineteen reading challenge. I don't know GonNa make it at this. You have like a week left case now. How many books do you have left on your list like half of it? Oh no Mike so you just took off the rest of this week arrest of of this year so that you could do this right. You just took off from work. That would have been a really great idea but I did not do that. Well you know Godspeed thank you. I'm GONNA try I did read under the Moon. Cat Woman tail which is not part of the reading challenge. Nice in the right direction. Yeah that's by Lauren. Miracle Isaac Goodhart. I basically know nothing about woman. Except for the occasional When she shows up in the movies basically? So you just know Anne hathaway right in the face and Michelle So but I've heard that this is a really great book. It was on the good reads choice. Awards for Twenty nineteen which is separate from our group. It's all good reads. My whole life is good reads. It did lose pumpkin heads. Which probably tells you that the majority of the users and good reads are like teenage girls or or at least younger adults I I did really end up liking this book though guy. It's got it all. It's gotTa a tragic backstory and diverse cast supporting characters like like a raven claw type packer and hustle. Puff Type Parkway teacher and then cat-woman someplace in the middle like she steals things but she's really brave so okay. I thought you were going to keep going with the Harry Potter and she's a slither in but also griffin doer. That's exactly what my thinking thinking was I can't I need the sorting hat for this great She's got a really great character arc. She ends the pulping Young girl in the book that really remind I don't know if it if she reminds her of herself but but I definitely saw parallels in the two characters and in this book she goes by a cat girl and she really insists on going by hat girl but at some point her friends are like. What's your name? And she's like. My name is cat cat girl. What are you talking about anyway? This has definitely sparked my interest in more cat woman stories but considering that. This is a Y.. Graphic novel. I really don't know no where to go from here. Like I imagine at the rest of the story is about cat-woman are about cat woman as in the adult so I don't know if there's a great jumping on point from this point I have no idea I think we have to consult our our resident. DC YOUNG ADULT ORIENTED COMIC book expert. Cash Gorski give it. My guess is that she would say forget about cat woman. Just read young justice or teen titans or something like that. I know that that's in the same kind of vein of like why a a it's not necessarily. Why a very drum oriented steph kind of like? Why books can be so? That's my best. Guess but nick what about you. How have you been Dan? How Comic Books Ben? Things have been fine. I feel like we've hit that point in the year that I think a lot of people hit where you're starting to panic and figure throughout exactly what your holiday plans are And I realized that's kind of a privileged position because I suppose there are some people out there who like aren't trying to figure route which relative they're going to go visit because some of the relatives have said you can't come back after what you did last year and Okay so some some people yeah That's that's what happens but Again like I said I'm in a privileged alleged position where it's kind of a juggling of WHO's going to go wherein who's going to see who and who's going to get seen before Christmas or after or get pushed off into the new year if you're like on a low tier of of family ranking I don't know So that kind of panic is setting in. So that's that's great. which which is? Maybe why I've been reading comic books instead of actually trying to solve real world problems. In that regard I read Prodigy Evil Earth. This is written by Mark Millar or by those of you. Who Look at the word and say? Can't you read Mark Millar Drawn by Rafael Albuquerque. choas by Marcelo Melo and Letters Bhai Pete Doherty and the main reason. I really just pick this book up is because I just haven't seen in Rafael Albuquerque's are in Kosh quite a long time. I'm sure someone to this. Someone who's listening to this angrily shouting at their A phone or Pod catcher or whatever you know he was just on this. Well guess what guys I don't have comic book DB anymore. It's it's gone. I tried to go there out of desperation like two days after I knew it was closed. And you know maybe there was a fluker some last minute reprieve but it's it's gone so there's nowhere else on the Internet to get that information and so that's that's just a problem but yet to tomorrow Miller's credit he always finds a way of pairing himself with really talented artists and so sometimes when I'm just not keen on Miller or even if I'm aware of the premise of the book and I just don't love that sometimes he'll just be paired with someone where I'm like. Okay okay I'm I'm just mainly going to read it for that. And so I saw this on Hoopla and the trade came out in July of Twenty nineteen and as the books suggests that the main character at crane is in fact a prodigy He helps win prep schools Polo final. Despite being six is younger than everybody else on the team he learns martial arts simply by watching the movies on TV and mastering the muscle movements Performs Open heart surgery on his childhood friend which if that's your version of like a play date I guess that works but That what happens He Simultaneously Participates in eight Games of chess at the world championship. He jumps the Grand Canyon on a motorcycle on fire there with no parachute and abandoning the bike. Half way he learns from Chinese masters how to channel CI balls What what is jumping over the Grand Canyon on a motorcycle have to do with being a prodigy insole? Apparently the premise here is that he gets a lot of letters from fans in the Mail L. and he has this one fan who keeps coming up with all these escalating crazy ideas. Where the only way you're going to truly enact or or play out this murder scenario suicide scenario of sorts is a if you're smart enough to concoct a way in which you can do it and not die and of course there are other things here we get the idea that he's truly learned how to master body and soul? Because as I said he's apparently Goku as well okay in terms of the The key or balls or whatever give Jif who cares fuck everyone getting mad right now and so yeah it does it feel like it's the beginning of iron man you know. Yeah it does feel like the beginning of iron man yes So he ends up in this whole globetrotting adventure enter. The Australian government is like. Hey we have a problem. cars are materializing out of nowhere. And it's a bizarre situation relation because the cars are for brands that have never existed on earth and they have license plates for states that have never existed in the United States and the cars are filled with animals in cages. That are dead and if that sounds like something very very bizarre that's because it's fucking mystery and now it's the whole crux of the book. Okay like okay. Why is this happening So so so. So what's the point of this book. Is that this guy is just really cool. I'm confused as to where the hook is into the story of however long this volume was right so the premises that. He's he's a very smart guy His Dad I think was a senator and then he became like secretary of state in his. Dad is very much like look at this path that I've carved for you basically more or less you can probably go on to be president right and Okay this kid. Edison Crane You know he's much more interested in kind of following all these like mysteries and people that are trying to like tie and all these different like unsolved events and things like that and as a result his dad disinheritance him. You know hands a dollar coin and says like that's that's all you're GonNa get from me And so yeah basically turns into something along the lines of national treasurer or or mission. Impossible where we're like learning learning ancient secrets about the government and breaking into you know high security buildings and Oh okay. This is a whole lot of that it has. He's trying to solve this mystery and if it seems like gee this is like tailor-made for becoming a movie or a TV show while you need to do is remember that Mark Miller has a big bucks contract with Netflix. At this point. And you go well okay. That seems that seems to add up. I'm just really intrigued. Trigo that Mark Miller has written a book in which the protagonist isn't a sexually frustrated. Violent violently prone Caucasian man and his low twenties I guess I should mention that. The main character Edison Crane is is African American So in that sense I think it's it's great because his Miller's protagonists have at least for what I've read of Miller have been pretty narrowly defined a very a small subset of characteristics. So it's great to see him branching out even if it may be feels a little Superficial superficial and not as not as indepth in well rounded of a character. I mean I would say. There is like one defining difference characteristic which is the idea that Edison is smart enough to obviously understand that Share intelligence and violence aren't like the only two ways to solve problems. He genuinely seems to have a real sense of empathy And a lot of people that he finds along the way that are are broken or a soldier who has ptsd he tries to like You know find ways to get them working for him or a helping him out or you know like sort of a mutual you help me. I help you sort of thing. So that's that's actually kind of Nice. We'll see we'll see if this gets a sequel or not. I don't know now I feel like Miller is just not that interested in doing that sort of thing anymore you know beyond a five six issue arc. So well he's he's written a lot. aww books that just kind of end after a first arc with potential continue and I think that's just him trying to set up future avenues when he may be runs out of ideas or just needs to cash in on something new knows now to say that that's all Mark Miller thinks about but it seems like on the surface that's all he thinks about. Well if if it's not that it's what Netflix is asking of him. I feel like I want to try this but it also feels like this guy is is a perfect character. So I'm interesting to know interested to know what the hook would be. You're the the the challenge in the book is if it's just the mystery then that's one one thing but if there's something else about his character that his izzy flawed in any kind of way you don't need to tell me no because I think you've given me three quarters of the book at this point. I mean like we're at eighty percent really at this point Syria sheriff. I mean we'll say the other thing that is kind of interesting that you frequently get this Glimpse into sort of like his mind. Excape if you will where you sort of like delve into his brain and it looks like sort of like an emcee esher drawing with stairs going everywhere. And there's like seven or eight different different Edison sort of standing around wearing different clothing to sort of Suggest whether they're like the athletic part of him or the the brainy part of him or the like the psychological part of him and they're all kind of conversing and It's a lot of it has to do with the fact that he's figured figured out how to channel his subconscious into like he can selectively target where that subconscious brain power is going so he can have working on different. It's crazy late. Yeah it's yeah yeah again..

I want to help the defense that means take care of the football don't turn it over we went seven and a half quarters and we didn't turn it over we need to we need to go wait.

"Right three three seven one three eighty five eighty five Broncos country tonight's up in just a little bit ran from von Miller is level of frustration with the a lack of a pass rush they have to quarterback is they're dead last in the league right now in quarterback kids joining is though right now to talk about the Green Bay Packers Pete Doherty you can define his work on Twitter Pete Doherty and of course he's with the Green Bay press Gazette in USA today network Wisconsin to Pete good evening how are well are you guys doing we're doing great thank you so much for the time tonight so well the things that we've been talking about over the course of this week is the Packers offense in some ways looking like or even with their Jones look fantastic this last week but the team is only averaging fifteen half points over the first two games and that's just kind of on air Rogers like I guess the best way to describe that and and so we're kinda wondering is this just a symptom of a new coaching staff or is this something else entirely. I would guess that you know might be something similar to what the Broncos are experiencing a defense fund I don't know I haven't looked at the Broncos points total but as you were just talking about the lack of sacks I mean that's a big glaring thing and I think it's a lot of it at least you know I can say with the Packers office my best guess is that it's. yeah you have a new a new head coach guys never been a head coach before put in a whole new offense his offense and you know even the rider's experience and obviously accomplish quarterback it's just that the province is fairly different even though they're both west coast they're totally different offshoots of the west coast from you know twenty ran with Mike McCarthy and so I think a lot of those those growing pains and the coaching staff and the players learn the scheme and the coaching staff learning what the players can do well and don't do well and I'm also at the ball you know just as in Gail fantails I'm sure finding out it could take a few weeks to start getting a real real good feel for that stuff. what's going on I would back and looked at a bit of the tape to kind of get prepped for this thing it looks to me like the Packers are a better football team on the script then off of it and I and I would almost say significantly so. yeah that was definitely not the case against Minnesota we only scored three touchdowns in the first I think it's literally fifteen glaze. you know and be a part of that is I'm sure there was a lot of plays on that script that we're on scouted looks. you know can help you out too because the mail the other side of the ball it has seen it. so yeah that was the that was a big factor now you know it just. you know they're not overflowing with talent on offense yeah they have they have enough I mean Tom Brady makes it work with out any in a real star that receiver may have Adams who is a you know he's looked at number one and they just you know I think it's just gonna be a few weeks before they they play good that they played pretty decent office which is going to be for the stars the other better week two than week one and our guests will be a little better in week three then in week two and I'm not sure good Denver's defense service I think Chicago is going to be outstanding Minnesota should be pretty good you know and has spent the last few years they still have a lot of those players so I you know it's just gonna probably take awhile and then we'll find out you know by halfway through the year so whether the injuries are taking a toll on Rodgers R.. no mail kinda office of cultural Florida's of things are still floundering in. November you know then and maybe they have some other problems they have been obviously that asked whether problems than just learning a new offense the door to you joining us here Broncos country tonight was so short of the defensive side of the ball because the defense has gotten off to a really great start is so far this year I mean they're they're tops in the league in several categories well what do you attribute to the defense success so far. yeah I mean you know we just got to keep reminding yourself it's just two games but they signed their GM Brian good echoes put big big money in the free free agents press that's where the various weapons Adrian name also to outside linebackers and safeties uses first two draft picks for first rounders on defensive players are trying here is not plan much but there are no savages starting at safety yes all of the specially the four guys a three free agents and savage and especially the three free agent. I really making a difference and I think it's an improvement from what band with you know Kenny Clarke keeps getting better at nose tackle and he's only twenty three so the turn twenty four you the top at least ten to maybe five defensive tackle league now so he keeps getting better and Kevin caning is actually been healthy for the first two weeks which. is something that's been a rarity and when he and Jay Ehrlich Sander on the field together at cornerback this defense is noticeably better we saw last year the only place basically a couple games together but when they play together there at the front got more staff so. it kind of put all that stuff together and. I don't think this is a it also kind of anomaly these first two games I'm guessing they're going to be a pretty good defense and. I mean you never know maybe even maybe even really good I would guess the furnace and up in the top ten in here to points as long as they don't have a devastating injuries I don't know maybe only make top five unknowns. yeah that was one of the things at the start of the season I can have my eye on a felt like Green Bay was gonna be a better defensive team the people thought they were I was kind of felt like Mike Patton got a raw deal in Cleveland very good coach I think you look you know you got the continuity factor if it kind of feels like at this point and tell you know it really all comes together for a full game for Green Bay that they're they're almost the defensive identity team at this point. only hope for sure you know it's kind of figured they'd be. you know one of the lucky to be one one at this point and very likely only to about you know like that probably is a pretty good coordinator and accountability from last year's sure helps a lot you know other teams of. we have taken fairly deep dive their free agency they paid big money for those three guys. no you don't. it's it's stopping him on all of them you know you just give like addressing a miss on some of these but at least there Leon is looking like they got in all three. pretty good players there and guys who are you know maybe not all pro starts with guys were just don't good football players who are making a difference so I could be this defense led to carry on for for half the season and then we'll see how our writers as planned in November last one here for you Pete she thought about us tonight so mellow floor made the decision yesterday to not practice and. that was the team's a little bit banged up and he also mentioned that they've kind of got there are you a bit on the eagles do you think that there's a possibility there overlooking the Broncos but here. I didn't interpret it that way because I noticed Philadelphia did the same thing they just a Walker on Wednesday yeah I think that's the way you know we'll both teams are either going this way practicing shorter in camp maybe I'll even a little less pads and a couple years ago. and I think it's more if they're thinking I had for health reasons I don't think they're thinking it had you know I don't think they're working at on strategic reasons bell I mean maybe I'm all wet here maybe they are there they are looking at but it struck me as just the you know trying to take care guys physically because they're gonna talk with tough week and a half. I had a bomb and I guess a week now and the fact that Philadelphia did the same thing suggests that it's. we want those things it'll become common practice in the league especially if you go on the season and he'd get all backed up makes sense P. thanks so much for the time and I appreciate it all right thanks for a minute. already you can check out his work on Twitter Pete Doherty and of course she's a Packers columnist for the Green Bay press Gazette USA today network Wisconsin will come back to react to that also more sound from risking rell and also we'll hear from von Miller coming up here just a little bit Broncos country tonight Kaley..

Then I must have beaten her once then. Seven point. She's beating you twice. Don't forget that part of it. I'm sorry. You cut out. I didn't hear that. I'll just assume it was positive without me. Hang on a second. Let me check my record. I'm just coming off an injury of at your fine. I'm not going to tell you what your record is way. I'm going to tell you that you are two wins away from tying for the MO the second most popcorn wars victory. So I've played more than anybody else know, I've played more than anybody else. Still. Yeah. I have played popcorn wars sixty times. You've played popcorn wars fifty six times. I some of those were against each other came up with the idea for this game that I'm terrible. I really got to put more on things. Honestly, I think you're probably getting the point where you should probably just incorporate like television shows or something you hold the record. Joe you hold the record for most ties. Okay. I'll take that. You also hold the record for most loss. His second. Then Mike campaign a- are former producer used to go up against me. Okay. Can't be in here at some point play. Again, we should have in here to play again. Yeah. So this story. This one's out of New York. I found this one this morning and thought it was interesting. Manhattan woman almost bankrupted herself. After a recent meal at patsies pizzeria. So she so she and her I think it was her daughter she entered this this lady is a social worker retired social worker and she and her daughter go into panties, and they have they have their lunch. And what they're doing is. They're they're out doing a whole thing. Like this lady had just sold her condo. And she's getting ready to buy a new car. He's the pizzeria for gullible people. Why do you ask that patsies? Gotcha. Gotcha. Or it was Lee Harvey oswald's pizzeria. Patsy. So so they're kind of going framed come on down and CR pizza. They're kind of going over the ladies financials and making their plans, we're gonna do this. We're going to do that. And they just come away from like getting the check for the condo. And they they go into patsies. Well, so what happens is they have some kind of conversation with the waiter. Like the daughter goes. Hey, I'm just curious. Why aren't their pictures of any like like there's so many pictures of guys on the wall here? Why aren't there? Pictures of more ladies on the wall here. This is the waiter. I'm sure he's really in charge. What pictures? Oh. Here at patsies. We hate women. And then when the waiter makes some sort of off the cuff comment system like well, maybe they just thought more guys eight pizza. I don't know. And the daughter goes the daughter didn't say anything the waiter, but the waiter walks away and the daughter goes when I snapped. She didn't appreciate it. She did with her pocketbook. When they stiffed the waiter on a tip. And I know how you feel about that. Have you brought your if he brought you food? You deserves a tip. I swear this agree with you on that, you know, but but Mr. pink, that's your thing. This was not a situation where I would have not left a tip. But they decided we're not going to leave him any money. So they they finished their meal, and they leave and the waiter comes back to the table. He's kind of cleaning up and the first thing he notices no tip. But then he skis of cleaning up the table. And then there's like an envelope, and he opens it up, and and there's a check for four hundred twenty six thousand dollars. Maybe this is my tip. So he turns it he turns it into one hundred twenty six thousand dollars. Yeah. Was it like a giant novelty? Check. No, it was a cashier's check. So so the guy he doesn't have any way to I guess they had paid cash for the for the food or whatever he's got no way to to get home to this lady. Even with her name. He can't figure it out. They try to find your like on Facebook, or whatever, you know, they're trying to do the right thing get this bent. And so that's just like a Patsy at patsies. Just leave the money with the manager. They leave the check with the manager. And they're going to go to Aruba. Trying to figure it out anyway. So like three days later this chicks at her at I guess, our new condo or whatever. More respectful. She left the tip. So she doesn't tip. So she I do tip rare circumstances when I do she's going through her purse, and she's like, oh, I've got that check here in my purse, and she's like blue. There's no check that turned into a head of our. What role dragging says she calls her daughter? Enter her daughter goes mom, I don't know what to do with at checkout. So they start retracing their steps. And like, oh, well, we went and visited with the real estate lady and the real estate lady doesn't have a check and they'd went somewhere for brunch. Other than panties and the place didn't have a Chevy forgot all about patsies. They check like every other place but panties. So the lady calls the Bank. She's not that worried about it. She thinks they'll just cancel the check in issue or a new one. They can't do that. Because all the money is in the chat. Thank you. So she did you used to work at a. The Bank tells her that she is I guess this is a financial term out of luck. Yeah. So basically, she was in like three months Sita show. He'd make us fill the three months in a few months. They tell her in a few months, you know, they can maybe reissue the check unless someone has has already cancelled it. In the meantime, so she's not comfortable with this. But she doesn't know where else to turn. She doesn't know where else to go. Can't remember meantime, the fine folks at patsies contact a local reporter with their plight in about ten minutes. They track this lady down that's the power of journalism and instead of taking the check to her they're like note, make her come to us. So the lady goes into panties pizzeria in according to the report of the first thing lady says is. I'm really sorry. I didn't tip you when we were here. The other day. Hundred dollars. Any sort of reward or anything the waiter still got nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Did you get nothing? Nothing that guy something I would have hung at that point. I would have hung up a picture of the end of Willie y the ladies picture on the wall. It would have been this lady and used it for target practice. There's your wall. All what would a nasty things dart center? That's the lady didn't tip. Man. That's that's what's going on out of patsies. Jack tells about the rockstar. Okay. "Now I live on a boat because I'm a fulltime inventor. It's been seven years. I could not be happier. So I always want to know if I mean, you're you must be making money, man. People can make sweet love to know some of the inventions nine eight nine seven three if you want to join it from the four to five I left my field as an art director to an independent filmmaker I made the road nickelsville about five homeless people in Seattle now on prime video. Sporting to put in a product what? And I gave it to them. No problem for the two six. We both quit our jobs. We sold our house and our cars move to South America to start a nonprofit organization. I love the risk taking the gamble. So they're listening from there. From the four to five major career change fifteen years in management at the blood Bank. And then it turned around and decided I was going to do aerospace quality inspection. Hike with a guy. Actually, I was friends with a guy who was a graphics editor at the Seattle times. And this was when I just got into town, and we all went on strike, which was a trag. He decided when he's doing that. Like, he wasn't happy being graphics guy for newspaper. So he bought he invested actually, I think in his then girlfriend at the time they invested money, and he got a a fairly powerful for the times, the fairly powerful computer and taught himself computer animation and ended up like over the course of like just doing this for no money for a period of time ended up being one of the prime animators on the ice age fills. I mean now that he's completely decided to remapping, and he apparently was an expert in for. Seriously. They this. I actually want someone who can make both realistic. And for that moves like it moves it to the pros in the animated environment is actually pretty funny winning when he told me I love for expert perfect from the four to five made a big career change. I went from being a quality inspector to being a sheriff. See I have looked that. So often that's actually the same. Yeah. I've looked at that. So many times I have a buddy of mine who is a former sheriff. He was a county sheriff and now he's bounty hunter. And he is so invite me to go bounty hunter, but they break all the rules. He doesn't my body doesn't. But I just want to be dog because he's got some good guns on him to accept. They don't want. I mean, he smoked nothing against smokers. He goes to companies he makes economic cases for forced vacations, and it has proven to be so true that the force high-performance to take cases. And what cliff does is he puts the vacations together specifically for high performers and the company say, you're going, right? You don't have to go here. We will force you take vacation. But if you take this vacation. Stays long you'd have to stay on as long and their high end high impact really interesting Bakke shins. And so he's at his business card says leisure activist. "Eleven thirty w I s n Mark Belling late afternoon. She'll give you what though word here in just a second one little bit PS on that will Packer story for this story to be true. And again, I think the core of it is true that just try just think it's exaggerated anecdotes that I have a hard time. Believing are true the premise, though, the two didn't like one another and the situation in Green Bay had been melting down. Yes. Clearly, but anybody who watch television do that. Is there any way the state of Wisconsin didn't think that was the case we all do that? If this story is true. It means that the all of the Packer beat reporters in this State, Tom Silverstein and Pete Doherty and Bob McGinn who who's got a website now, I'm retired. If you beat the role incompetent means they're all incumbent, all the TVs. They're all incompetent, none of them do that. And this is going on all going on. Right at underneath their noses. And none of them do with that. That's the only conclusion, you know, if they're just going to run around and say, oh, yeah. Well, the story is true that what the hell with doing? Their jobs is entire time. Keeping this information from us that apparently is quite interesting since everybody's buzzing about it. If something seems too good to be true. Usually is. All right. Here's your chance to win a thousand bucks. The word is van V A N van you have between now and five o'clock van to two hundred two hundred instantly when thousand dollars in cash, you'll get a text confirming entry, plus iheartradio, info standard data and message rates apply in this nationwide. Contest. Let me talk about the economy for a moment here. There was another surprising surprising pop in the jobs numbers. This is the March figure. These things come out. Of course, everybody first of all I'm just waiting one of these months for the numbers that come out and people say this is exactly what kind of is projected. It's always more or less than projected there. Never right. But the number again was higher than people expected, despite the fact that there was a significant number of layoffs in the first quarter, the overall number of jobs created when everything is added up in the month of March is up one hundred ninety six thousand. I think this is stunning almost at the point of not making any sense. One of the reasons the American economy is cyclical. Is because it has to be let me explain let's imagine. There's a thousand people who live on an island in the Pacific. And thousand adults. Eight hundred of them are working at two hundred or without work. The economy picks up on the island. Now, it's eight hundred fifty now it's nine hundred now it's nine forty. It gets to be pretty hard to grow. When there's only sixty people left who who are at working. We are at a level of full employment at the United States. I don't know how you can keep adding jobs. It is always easy to add jobs when the economy is bad because there's a zillion people that already unemployed. There's only so bad things could get just as there's only so good things can get. I used football records as an example because it's such an excellent way of making the point. Talking about the package. They went fifteen in one a few years ago. The most they can do to improve their wind record would be seven percent by going sixteen and the following year. You can't do much better than fifteen in one in terms of hiring. The American economy is so strong. You wonder how you could possibly increase the numbers, even if they were going down. A bit. It would still apply a generally healthy economy. Even though the numbers were negative. Why because you'd still have masses that were employed. I have leaned toward the notion of the economy slowing down, but avoiding the technical definition of recession. But it's possible to me that I think. We might not even slow down this year. But that you're just piling strength on top of strength. And remember it is always hard to improve on a good number. It's easy to improve on a bad number. That's why the biggest growth numbers are usually those that come out of a recession because you're comparing to lousy numbers. The resiliency of the Trump economy. Is profound. And I will also point out that this is all going on at the exact same time. That supposedly the economy was going to be tanking because of the trade wars the sanctions the slowdown of the European economy. The bad relationship with China. It's cetera etcetera etcetera, none of this appears to be true. For Twenty-three news talk eleven thirty w is. It's time for rapid traffic..

"In the NFL is on all ready agreements being made between principals trade go down today, or at least agreement Olivier Vernon the Pro Bowl linebacker going to Cleveland in exchange for Kevin Zeitler, the former Wisconsin badger thought he would've looked decent in a Packers uniform. That's kind of where we are with the Packers. They need help in a variety of areas. Happy to welcome in from the Green Bay press. Kazak our good friend, Pete Doherty, Pete. I don't know how you carve this up. If you're a Packers fan, they need impact players. They also need depth. So how do they attack the free agent world assuming they need both things. Yeah. Isn't that the question, and, you know, especially with them, but I think with pretty much every team, you know, unless like Minnesota last year, and we're just gonna go with everything you had after Kirk cousins. He just you have to have your plans have to be so flexible because might go after a guy in the place just gets you. You got to draw a line that could change everything you, do, you know, they have the money to go after one big ticket guy. You know, maybe to, you know, fairly cheap guy something like that. Or they could go for five or six more guys who are more mid level than you're not getting the impact you're talking about. I really don't know what they're gonna do. I guess. I guess if I had to bet I would bet they'll do that, you know, four or five, you know, guys contracts range from an average of I don't know two and a half going into, you know, maybe seven million something like that. And even predict which of those guys it'll be pretty tough to do. Because you just don't know how these dominoes are gonna fall in free agency. But they need help it almost every position. So there's a lot of guys who should be employed. Yeah. That's why every time I see a player released Eric Weddell or that Antonio Brown's in the trade bloc. I mean, almost every one of these positions in in those quality of players, you think well that would fit on the Packers because they need so much help. Right. It's it's hard to boil it down to this one specific area. Boy, they could just tackle that in the off season. They'll be great not it's pretty widespread with his team. Yeah. I know you can't you can't rule any of these guys out when they when they get released that, you know, they they need at least one starting safety maybe to they need a starting guard. I haven't gotten any sense on Baraga. You know, if they were gonna cut him. I would have thought they'd have done it by now, but they have told, you know, Monday to do it. So, you know, maybe I'm not sure when he's doing his bonus. But it could be even a little later. So they've got a few a few days to do that. But they need a backup. Right. Tackle they need help. It tight end. You know, they just they need they need so much. It's just you know, obviously pass rushers is a big thing. Make it sign a couple of Rogers. So there's there's so many guys that could be playing. From what I understand talking. Do. I was I talked to a couple of you know, pretty high ranking scalp this weekend. They said you're basically gained out free agency. Just like they worked with the draft. And you go through. Well, what if we what we'd like this guy? But what he gets, you know, here's prices too high. Then what do we do? They have to go through so many scenarios than. Let me have to make these really talk quick decisions on the fly wants, you know, wants to everything gets flying on Monday. I guess is one making negotiate and Wednesday is when the signing start Pete Doherty Green Bay press gazette. Joining us on sports central presented by Miller white. I know a handful of teams use the franchise tag on a handful of players. Good solid defensive players pass rushers something the Packers need any thought that one or more of those players could be on the trading block. It sounds like d fort maybe because Kansas City is switching to a four three defense. They changed the offensive coordinators. So possibly, but then you're talking, you know. You're you're both trading. Really valuable assets to get him. Plus, you're spending a lot of money. So it's not just one or the other what kind of a double whammy there. So you really really have to like the guy like, you know, can we all MAC and like the guy. So I don't know if that's I just just guessing without having any inside information. I, you know, I would think that that's probably not real real high possibility. I think it's more. They're going to have to just you know, like a way of free agency and try to get a little bit incrementally. Better hit big dry out. They hit bang on on a couple of draft picks. I don't see any must signs on the Packers free agent roster. I don't look at any of these names and say you can't move on without these players. So they could keep one or two or more handful of guys the fatal Browns of the world. But I think Nick Perry's time in Green Bay is done. I think it'll be a low ball offer for clay Matthews. I wouldn't be shocked to see him back. And I don't have a great feeling that Randall Cobb is going to return. So if you go through your crystal ball here what what does the future moves made with existing talent? What's that going to do to the salary cap and or the Packers flexibility to spend? What do you envision that number to be as we approach the start of the league year? Yeah. And you got a shot brillant in there because of the injury issues going back to last year. I agree with you on cab agree, basically with everything you said there. I looked like has gone Matthews. I don't know what they would offer four or five million a year. I guess five million something like that will someone offer more thinking that he can be a part time pass rusher forum. That's just a a great question. So right now, I think they're like thirty three or thirty four million the cap they want to go into the season with. I don't know about six or seven million at least in cap room their draft classes, I thought I saw that it's prompt that their cap allocation will be like ten million. But you know, they only want the top players in the offseason. So a lotta times sign a guy they drafted that just Mack somebody off the list. So you don't add as much money to your cap. So you gotta probably, you know, make room for five or six million for the draft picks. So, you know, now, you're getting closer to twenty million. Now, you you sign a couple if that doesn't deal then you're and you're down fourteen or fifteen million in cap room. So it could go pretty fast. But like you said there's none of those guys are guys they have to bring back. You know, it's not signing. You know, not a core. Franchise player franchise type player anymore. So. I guess with my best guess on Matthews is I'm I'm guessing he ends up. Elsewhere. But that's like, you know, fifty two to forty eight percent something like that. Let's talk about the offensive skill players who could be available. We know Levy on bells afraid fit the Pittsburgh Steelers. Don't seem to have a lot of leverage and they are shopping Antonio Brown. What do you make of this situation? And are you pro any of these well high drama high talent guys ended up in Green Bay? I, you know, I think bell would be really interesting here, and it would be a big ticket. But that would be one like you're talking to you want impact players. You know, what your first question? This is one of the few guys out there who probably could be an impact player. Now, if the cost is twenty million dollars a year, you know, I could I could definitely see going after him a pack because I don't know if they would or not. But if I were that might seriously consider it if it's fifteen sixteen seventeen million, then you know, that's too much. I brown. I just wouldn't touch it. He wants a new contract at the start of the day. He wants to be the highest paid receiver. Plus the graphic. You have to give up their whole thing was, you know, bringing up on accountability this off season bringing in college. I mean, this guy was late for meetings all the time you skip the last game of the year. I just you know, that would go against everything they've been doing that just that one just doesn't make much sense to me, even though he's a really talented and very working player. There's still a lot of other stuff that goes with it Pete. I have to admit I was a little bummed to see that. Kevin Zeitler was traded to the giants. I thought he might be a nice piece in green bad didn't know how it would work but in the world of dot connecting. I wouldn't be opposed to the Browns Packers having a conversation. That's happened before I'm not saying that's the one that got away. But that seemingly would have been a nice fit. We know the Packers need help along that offensive line. Yeah. You know, I 'cause when teams are looking to trade guys like this if they don't trade them, they they they caught him. And that's usually the way it goes. So I thought he was going to end up getting cut. And then I wondered if they'd go after them the one thing, I don't know a lot about him. And I haven't asked anybody about him. So I don't know how he would be as as a zone guy. I seem to remember him being a really big guy. So like a three hundred twenty pounds or something like that? I could be wrong. So I don't know if he's if he could end zone don't scheme guy. But he was certainly good linemen. And they definitely need a starter at guard. So I did wonder if he was a possibility, obviously that's not on the table anymore. All right. You got to blow the dust off your crystal ball. You gotta shine it up a little bit. We've got to the ball questions before we let you go. Are you ready? Okay. All right. Okay. Sighted, scares me. That's good. Will the Packers be a week one free agent player? So. They can start signing on Wednesday. So you mean science somebody by the weekend? Yes. No. So you're thinking more the value play versus the homerun play. That would be my best guess. Just remember I'm guessing like everybody else. Of course, the ball question. Number two will the Packers draft at twelve and thirty in the first round who twelve I think, I think it's I don't wanna say for sure, but pretty really high probability thirty that could go either way I could see them actually trade back in the second route. If they can get a decent deal and getting a third round pick or something. So. I'll say no, I'll say they'll draft a twelve thirty. All right. Here's what we'll do. We've got this on tape. I will bring this back if you're right. I will bring it back and it and if and if we're both a little bit often, we'll never hear of this again. That's right. Let it just slip into the another another lands there. That'd be great gearing up for a very busy week Pete. Thanks for joining us tonight much-appreciated and have a great weekend. Okay. Greg. "At Radio City? Here's greg. Happy Friday at walk into the weekend. Two hours left in sports central issue. Joining along at four one four seven nine nine one six twenty that is the economic mortgage, talk and text lines an off night for the bucks. But Jaanus is looking to watch game of thrones. Apparently. And he's asking those on social media where he can watch game of thrones. Now, you're always perked up here. Asking are you into game of thrones? Big town. You are. Okay. Much into game. Have you just gotten started? Or are you waiting patiently for the next season to come out? I'm waiting patiently. I caught on probably around season two is when I started watching live, and I'm pretty hooked. Okay. So five minutes ago Janas tweeted, where can I watch game of thrones already? He has about seven hundred likes and one hundred sixty six people telling him where he can watch game of thrones. People are offering up their HBO to go password. Whatever my gut feeling says Janas has that HBO on demand cable? I don't know how much he has cable like now, I think about it. I bet he's got league pass and net flicks. And maybe Hulu, I suppose you'd have made you'd have to have some way to access HBO to get it. Right. Yes. That's not on Netflix. No, no. But I'm trying to think for cable. Radio on demand or something. Yeah, I'm trying to think of what kind of subscription the honest would have somebody help him out this time in the middle of the season. I mean, I try and tell them what to do. But man, this is a this is like an all-star break. Then you gotta start at you're going to invest it. I know he is watching TLC TV. Right. Greg commercial? Maybe it's TCL. I'm sorry. I don't have one. Maybe it's both little Packers free agent. Talk with Pete Doherty coming up in just a few minutes. Earlier today. The brewers picked up a win over the Zona Diamondbacks. Six three was the final. The final score is not as interesting to me is how they arrived at the final score. And what I saw today. It looked like a lineup. I mean, this looked like a lineup. You would see at any point in the regular season. It was Lorenzo Cain and yellowed Brian bronchitis. I activity in the spring one for three today. Mike was dockets was in the lineup today is mardi gras doll was in the lineup today. Travis Shaw had two home runs today. Are they primarily talk full of starters? With the exception of he's tag Hagler. So Eric got the day at first and did not. But I mean that was a Representative lineup from the brewers today. And then later on of course, you got into some of the deaf players tyrod Taylor casting hero. But also of note today was Freddie, Peralta. So I cannot determine just yet who has a leg up based upon their cactus league stats and what they've done and what I've seen because I think it goes beyond the stats with pitching in spring training. But I don't know who has the leg up here. It's Brandon Corbin burns. Freddie, Peralta Peralta was amazing today. He was outstanding nine nine down a perfect three innings done. Gordon burns was pretty strong a couple of days ago, working out of a jam wooder philosophies right there where you need to be. I think two of the three and up in the rotation. And the other probably goes to the bullpen tonight's luxury. It really is. Peralta twenty two. That's the insane part of this whole deal. He's twenty two years old. Think about this for a second Yuliya Sosthene, but just coming out. Okay. Let's say the brewers starting rotation is you'll be seen. Zac davies. Woodruff Peralta burns. Let's say it is that five I'm leaving Jimmy Nelson, Alex. I think he's going to have extended spring training. So give me those five guys. Right. Add up their salaries does that even equal one year of Darvish not even close. I even winning behalf. Scene is what did seven million eight million? Maybe this year. Three of the four guy or three of the five guys are in the hundreds of thousands. I don't even think any one of those guys have cracked a million Davies is a little bit more inflated. But on the west. You're not even at like ten million total for your entire starting five your initial out getting staff. I did notice you lecture Anderson's name out of there. I did. But even if you add face Anderson, I mean, that's not a. That's that's. Bank breaking salary him in him and Jack Davis. I think have similar deals, okay? For just for sake of conversation. As far as the rotation goes. I'm I must fascinated with his position more than anything. I think Anderson's. Yeah. I just I don't think he's a bullpen guy. No. That that you have that luxury. I think with Peralta burns or Woodruff because they're young enough. And they're good enough to pitch at the major league level. It's just a matter of where and. And I think you need a swing guy you need a three inning. Maybe four inning kind of guy to help you through some situations. It was critical during the playoffs. But I would agree with you 'cause trace Anderson sonata bullpen guy. I don't think Nelson's a bullpen guy. But I think you need a couple of long bullpen guys it helps but just think about that. And I think that's part of the reason why the brewers are getting undervalued a little bit. Is a little uncertainty with that starting rotation. The only have one guy with double digit wins a season ago. Pretty interesting stuff wanted to play this for you. A lot of people are very interested in what casting hero will do major league level. And of course, fans get impatient at times and want to step on the gas and hit the accelerator just get this guy up to the major league level. He's the top prospect never mind that he hasn't seen a pinch at the triple eight level yet in his career, but he seem pretty regular time so far during the cactus league and Craig counsel outlines the reasons why I think for Casten this. "pete doherty" Discussed on News Talk 1130 WISN

"I've the reason I've explained it so many times as I don't want to be misinterpreted criticizing the commercialization of Christmas. I bet backwards to say I'm not saying I wanna have place for both. And I want people to understand that the actual Christmas begins on Christmas day. Even though the commercialized version the gift giving in the festive part begins earlier that seems to end on Christmas day, the actual marking of the religious celebration begins at Christmas day and most Christian religions that do use Christmas as part of their. Worship their their celebrations. Ed the content of the bible readings and so on relate to the Christmas season. And that's still part of the thing that they're addressing and dealing with. That's all. That's all. Well, yeah. That's the other thing. Now that you got me on this. What are the things that we tried to do? And I wanna thank I I'm not exaggerating. I got at least one hundred and fifty suggestions from the audience about a rather obscure Christmas stuff to play on the air. And I couldn't even check it all out, but we did play some of it. And I found myself I kinda was on a mission to find a few other new things that hadn't been heard that. I thought were really really good. And I found that there are a lot of other people who like me are into the same thing and have found some of these things themselves often, they're more religious versions of whether religious kind of Christmas songs with some really really good stuff. That was out there. These radio stations that are playing Christmas music could still on the same old stuff every hour. I mean, including there's always been nine Christmas Christmas songs, I mean winter wonderland is it really all that Christmas said some of these songs that are about cold at all. That really are always been some of that. But there's been such a stress on songs in which they dropped the word Christmas into the saw again, what in the world is John Lennon and Yoko Ono, which is displayed constantly what does it really have to do with Christmas other than they say that? So this is Christmas and they throw in Christie's. I get the whole notion of world peace thrown into it'd. Many. But it's just. It's constant. It's constant. And now that there's been this focus on the obnoxious song that I don't like that others do like that I banned from my show because I don't play stuff. I don't like here at a Paul puts in something. I don't like it. Tell them to take it off the air. I think baby it's cold outside. It's an obnoxious to play at Christmas time. I don't think that Christmas should be used. Whether you think it's about date rape or not. I don't think Christmas you've used as an attempt by a guy to get a woman to go have sex with them and a woman, I just that's the signs about there's all sorts of side that have that connotation, and I find them I'm not a puritan. I listen to rock and roll songs that about making love and doing this that and the other thing country songs about cheat in the whole thing. I think it's a dumb bell song. But others like it the point I make is that songs play constantly with ninety million versions of it. And he just hear the same thing over and over and over and over and over again, right? Paul aggressively. And for the people who didn't like it. F- for the people who are members of other religions as I said, I believe your holidays and your important day should be acknowledged as well. But there are more Christians than anything else in the United States. So this one's going to be a bigger deal. The problem I have with people throw it in this happy holidays. Well, we're throwing the people with Hanukkah this year. Hannukah was so early in the season, you weren't throwing it into the Hanukkah. You just use that as your excuse to not say Christmas. How about one Hannukah is arrived and when we're in Hanukkah season, saying happy Hannukah. Well, let's say it, I don't know a single Christian or once they Muslims. They're offended by everything that is part of their religion, Buddhist, or whatever that would be bothered if somebody said happy Hannukah on the radio during the Hanukkah period. Let me finish my point here. But at least I don't have to explain again, what have you gotten any grief from people call again, or if they just give it up on. They know that I will use yell at him. We intimidated and bullied the audience into silence on this. It may actually be that most people in the audience like what we're doing? I think they do. There's never anything that everybody likes about a single thing. I've ever done that has had one hundred percent support. I want to talk about one other person. And then go into the break. Forever. I have thought Lindsey Graham is a self important a feat. Look at me, narcissistic rhino. He joined himself at the hip with John McCain became that part of the wing of the Republican party. He's been right on foreign policy wrong. And just about everything else. And always seemed to be one of those guys that would make it clear to the Democrats in the Senate that yeah, the Republicans have gone too far, and he'd say the same thing to the media. And he was one of these Republicans just I don't know didn't seem too much like actual real Republicans. He has been a totally different person the last year. He's been very supportive of President Trump and even in the areas where he disagrees with him such as he does not support. The withdrawal of troops from Syria. He has it been as harsh in the way that he has commented on that. Lindsey Graham is a guy who has believed in compromise in the Senate for the beginning. He was part of the gang of seven and part of the gang of fourteen. He's always been the one who reaches out to the other side. And he's trying to being one of the ones that reaches out to the other side on something the government shutdown. So that's the position that he comes from. He is having no time for the kind of garbage. That's been directed at Trump and the garbage that you have seen from the left. He was the guy who gave the most impassioned speech in defense of not only a defensive judge cavenaugh. But it criticism of the tactics against him. I think Lindsey Graham his better around for so long. The he is appalled at what's happened from the left. He's just disgusted by it. And. After being around there for so long. He's actually becoming a more hardliner than he was before. Because he's being shoved that way because he is disgusted at what has become of the left, and he has this gusted at what has become of the media which the past. He was pretty much. Always suck it up to you. Graham is developed. I think a pretty good relationship with President Trump even though early on. He was one who made it very clear he could not stand Trump. It's one of his most aggressive critics that he was running for president. I think Graham gets that. I still probably don't agree with Lindsey Graham at a lot of these things. But when it comes to his criticism how over the top and Haub noxious. The left has gotten how inaccurate. The media has gotten some of these other things. He gets it. And that's the point that I think Mitt Romney does not get even if everything you said about trumpets, correct? That you think he's making some foreign policy mistakes. And he's too two turnovers administration, and he doesn't conduct themselves the greatest way that they ought to. Should you gotta take a look at the overall environment that we are in right now and decide what you're more bothered by. You'll be like if the Packers decided that before they hired a head coach or anything else. They get into a manager. You get my point. Maybe the equipment manager is the problem. It's not that big of a deal. By the way, those guys often get in trouble when there's coaching changes. Traders always get fired when there's coaches, I I shouldn't say always the brewers had some people who lasted through several different regimes. But. Especially in the NBA coaches want their own traders. I don't know isn't everybody always heard I actually think this year. Paul the Packers did not have many injuries that was not one of their excuses. This year. I mean, but everybody has a lot of injuries. I mean Rodgers was essentially healthy for almost all of the season. I don't think it was a significant look around everybody in the NFL is always. And it just part of the thing happened. No. I don't think that that was one of the excuses. This year. This would have been a great year to write a book about somebody who was on the inside seeing all of the things, and I still think you go back to see if they had won a couple of those games that they almost one earlier in the year, the whole attitude and the team in the locker room would have been better off. They would've played with more confidence and swagger that season that sort of slipped away from them and. What precedes Lewis democrat Makasi? No. What did he say? Posted Rodgers will get the call in the huddle immediately laugh laugh at immediately. Well, that's the part that the relationship was poisoned. There is I don't think I'm gonna have an opportunity to get to this. But there actually is a very good by Pete Doherty and jazz online today about the risks. The Packers would have if the higher Josh mcdaniels that you wonder if it wouldn't be the same thing that McCarthy was actually. He's kind of an amiable guy and tried to develop a relationship with Rogers, Josh mcdaniels is he's a hired ladder. And he doesn't take any crap. From anyone also do you really want at this stage? Aaron Rodgers is career to make him for the first time ever not to run the west coast offense. They ran a form of DeKalb with Tedford who's now the coach at Fresno state his entire time in the NFL has been running the west coast offense, obviously New England. Does it run it? They run a more vertical offense rather than the Dinka dump stuff. You see in the west coast. It I don't know. I actually what do you have I to go to the break here. But. Adam gates now going to interview with the Packers. I'm not against that. He was average in Miami. But the Miami situation you talk about a team, that's really had personnel issues. Remember, Adam gates was the guy who was the offensive coordinator was San Francisco with Harbaugh then he went to the bears at the very beginning of the coach before. I can't even think of the current coach coach of the Nagy the coach before the old guy. He was with Carolina. What's Super Bowl? Giants. Denver. The bear coach before FOX. Yeah. He brought him in there. And he was the coordinator there. I think is a pretty sharp guy and. I thought when Miami hired him they hired him a very hired a very good coach. But I wouldn't be bothered by him being hired with you..
