"I would have mixed up something other than going for touchdowns and I think the worst case scenarios you give the ball to the Buccaneers at the what? The 87 Yard line and then you try to stop Brady there. You still need to touch down. I have Aaron Rodgers. And a chance to score a touchdown to take the lead and then try to stop Tom Brady. I don't want to give the ball back. I'm not giving the ball back to Jamis Winston. I'm giving the ball back to Tom Brady. And that to me compounded the mist Ake of Kick the field goal. Then give Tom the ball. I don't I don't They don't have Analytics for Brady, Pete. You know what I think you hit on something really important there because there was think it was to either to 20 or 2 10 left when they were at the eight. So they had a lot of time. To run their normal offense. They could have run the ball if they wanted to. They could have run it three times and two minute warning. Plus, as you said. You know, you don't want to give the ball back to Brady. With all this time left all they had to be a little careful there, because if you don't get the two point conversion, then you need the ball back against. You Gotta leave a little time. You don't want to leave Tom Brady with two minutes and their whole offense, the whole reason that they're the number one Scoring offense this year is How effective their running game was and how everything played off that and Rogers was just lethal and play action and they didn't run the ball once on those first three plays, that would have been the perfect time. Early on one of those 1st 22 downs to run the ball and they and they didn't. I think they got it in the fourth quarter. The game was right there for him, and they got away from their identity and they became a draft back team. They look like McCarthy teams in the last few years where it was Aaron drop back and run around to make a play. Yeah. I gotta have the ball in the best players. Hands that I just I just have to It doesn't make any sense whatsoever to go. Hey, we're gonna let Tom Brady have the ball and I'm gonna count on my defense to shut him down. I don't like those odds at all, and I still got to score a touchdown, but You only have seven months to, uh, kind of think about this, Pete. You know, I can't imagine that winter has gotten a little bit longer there and man next season can't come early enough. You know, I'm I'm gonna go to right. I'm gonna have to address us at a column later this week, and I can already tell you what the first line's gonna be. It's gonna be. The circus is back in town because this is This is in its own different laid. This is Brett Fire, talking about retirement and all that stuff all over again, Bill boy, hopefully Well. Erin won't end up in Minnesota, though. Yeah, well, you never know. I mean, I really I I mean, I still find it hard to believe he won't be the Packers quarterback next year. But I didn't thought think Fire would end up in Minnesota, But he got out of the judge. Who knows I'm gonna book you for August. Pete, so I can have you back on and then we could talk about Was this a story Or is the circus truly back in town, But Thanks for joining us, and we appreciate your time, Pete. Thank you for having me down. That's Pete Doherty, The Green Bay Press Gazette. Me long that winter got a little colder. Mur. Yes, but this isn't like New York City or Los Angeles, where there's other things going on as other teams talk about. If you go to the Green Bay Press gazette like that, you know they lived at the little notches on their little things where it says News. Sports WEATHER TRAFFIC It's as Packers news sports in that order on their run down. The Packers are bigger than news and bigger than sports. It's Packers sport. Make love and has the Tuesday mid morning quarterbacks segment coming up TM. GM trademark. Oh, it is I not yet. Don't know he Mm Q Tuesday, Mid morning morning quarterback. I did some research that there was a Tuesday morning quarterback back in the day. This is Tuesday, mid morning Quarterback patent pending. Okay, Now, do you need time to set this up? You. Do you want to do it? Now? You want me to take a break and you get ready, Tonto? This is this a standalone quality. Then I'm Are you sure? Because every time I say, Do you want me to promote this? Is this a big deal? And then you go? Yes, And then we get closer to it. Then you go. It's It's really not that big a deal. I mean, let's be honest, like following Pete Doherty is like following Chris Rock. I don't want to go right after him. I need a break there. Why you taking a shot, and I was sure that was unnecessary. Got a shot? That's a shot at winning stories. Some of my Tuesday men boarding quarterback take care. You know, it was all about the Packers. And what? I need a little space from Pete Doherty. Okay, He's the Packers beat writer. But what does he know about the Packers? How.

"Have meaning. And right now here and now words From important people are critical and vital. And now here, Scott Waris, our number two on a Friday night. Spent the last half hour and we will continue spending some time getting your calls and your comments your stories, your thoughts, your memories of of Paul Horning and during the news break I reached out to a former teammate of his, and he is so kind enough to give us just a couple of minutes on a Friday night, pro Football Hall of Famer Packer Great Jerry Kramer joins us on WTMJ as we find them on the first Midwest Bank hotline. Mr Kramer. Good evening, And I know I speak for all of us here at the flagship of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee and the Wisconsin fan base when we we send our condolences. For your loss of your great friend and your great teammate and I was reading some of the comments. You said today to Pete Doherty and the Journal Suddenly, you said in talking about His ability. I'm gonna quote you hear you said Holy crap. This guy can do anything and everything He really could, couldn't he? He was multi positive, multi talented. On multi story He's just he could he could. He could do it all. I think that example of him dancing and singing and doing the thing is, it's strange Group of people blew my Back, and I just couldn't believe that the guy would get up and not only sing a song that was nicely done. He did a little dance with it. She could have a feeling. You know, Entertainer he was entertaining is fun to be with. Great to spend some time with have dinner and Missing. Miss him greatly missed him, Mama. Before he's gone even well, Yeah, we were talking in the last half hour and I mean he was he was like, right out of central casting. I mean, he could have walked out onto a sound stage in Hollywood and Let the movies you know, let the movie roles fly. He What was it about him for those of us who didn't know him? What was it about him that made him so s so charismatic with such a magnetic personality. Hey, was very bright. First of all, much, much more so than you would get. But just initially, he just would look at the room and remember the room or looking to play and remember the play or run a play. And know where everybody was on the field. He just just had a great grasp of the game and how play it what we're gonna do about it, and he He just could do virtually anything if they don't want any. He was not shy. This Mom would raise them is a young boy, and he was Incredibly confident it just really Have no doubt and no concern. And though you couldn't embarrass the guy couldn't commit. If you say something, and he'd cut you off or touch up. He's just a incredible football player. And you could do anything. I mean, he could Just, uh, just about anything you want to do and smile about it and have fun with it. Very unusual guy, and, uh, Great running back. Excellent football player. You know we could throw the ball. He could pick the ball. He could catch the ball. You could do everything with the ball and did And that's why he Won the Heisman ETA. Little place called Notre Dame. And they were like two and seven. The year he won the Heisman. I think it's probably the only guy ever to win the Heisman on the losing team like that. You are correct. The only guy Yeah. Yeah. Can you tell us about what? Your first maybe moments meeting him? I mean, you've you've talked with others today about the great friendship as it evolved over the years, But do you remember one of those early meetings, maybe just in the locker room or even if it was out on the practice field Yeah, I think I was intimidated a little bit by the Heisman. The Golden boy and the whole package. He was a formidable human beings. And you didn't want him is an opponent. You one of them is a friend. But it's just So many different places that seemed awkward that he made comfortable. Just by his attitude. Just by is motions and his reaction that different people and you couldn't help But like him, the other one will smile. And he looked in the eye and shake your hand or give you a hug and And you just, uh, invariably left his presidency, boy. Hell of a guy. He's really a hell of a guy. So I, uh I can't. It was the first meeting that made you feel that way and then subsequent meetings. It was determined that he wa said he was really something special. And it grew into a great friendship. And I, uh, busted my tail Whatever. Always, uh, in the neighborhood. I guess I gave it my best shot. He did to. You Never never let up and never took it easy in the game. He just Performed and they performed an extremely high level. You have spoken of that I don't if you would call the sixth sense or or whatever. He had just that in eight. Ability, obviously, but also just that that special bit of knowledge the instincts on the field with the ball. What to do where to go? Anticipate things before anybody else. Anticipated them, let alone did them. Yeah, He has a wonderful sense of where he was and where everyone on the field Woz and you didn't know if that was luck the first couple of times or feet. Maybe had run that play a lot more than you had. Or maybe he had Some other things going on. But he just was Wade run that sweet. Got and he should be 34 yards behind me. Maybe 545 And he knew exactly where everybody was on the field, and he would we would get to a guy and defensive player. And I'm in front of Paul and the defensive guy had to make a move. If he did that we were going to run over it, so he's going to go right or left or down. You can go down that your knees take you out, You know, open up things, but Rest of the team..

"Right three three seven one three eighty five eighty five Broncos country tonight's up in just a little bit ran from von Miller is level of frustration with the a lack of a pass rush they have to quarterback is they're dead last in the league right now in quarterback kids joining is though right now to talk about the Green Bay Packers Pete Doherty you can define his work on Twitter Pete Doherty and of course he's with the Green Bay press Gazette in USA today network Wisconsin to Pete good evening how are well are you guys doing we're doing great thank you so much for the time tonight so well the things that we've been talking about over the course of this week is the Packers offense in some ways looking like or even with their Jones look fantastic this last week but the team is only averaging fifteen half points over the first two games and that's just kind of on air Rogers like I guess the best way to describe that and and so we're kinda wondering is this just a symptom of a new coaching staff or is this something else entirely. I would guess that you know might be something similar to what the Broncos are experiencing a defense fund I don't know I haven't looked at the Broncos points total but as you were just talking about the lack of sacks I mean that's a big glaring thing and I think it's a lot of it at least you know I can say with the Packers office my best guess is that it's. yeah you have a new a new head coach guys never been a head coach before put in a whole new offense his offense and you know even the rider's experience and obviously accomplish quarterback it's just that the province is fairly different even though they're both west coast they're totally different offshoots of the west coast from you know twenty ran with Mike McCarthy and so I think a lot of those those growing pains and the coaching staff and the players learn the scheme and the coaching staff learning what the players can do well and don't do well and I'm also at the ball you know just as in Gail fantails I'm sure finding out it could take a few weeks to start getting a real real good feel for that stuff. what's going on I would back and looked at a bit of the tape to kind of get prepped for this thing it looks to me like the Packers are a better football team on the script then off of it and I and I would almost say significantly so. yeah that was definitely not the case against Minnesota we only scored three touchdowns in the first I think it's literally fifteen glaze. you know and be a part of that is I'm sure there was a lot of plays on that script that we're on scouted looks. you know can help you out too because the mail the other side of the ball it has seen it. so yeah that was the that was a big factor now you know it just. you know they're not overflowing with talent on offense yeah they have they have enough I mean Tom Brady makes it work with out any in a real star that receiver may have Adams who is a you know he's looked at number one and they just you know I think it's just gonna be a few weeks before they they play good that they played pretty decent office which is going to be for the stars the other better week two than week one and our guests will be a little better in week three then in week two and I'm not sure good Denver's defense service I think Chicago is going to be outstanding Minnesota should be pretty good you know and has spent the last few years they still have a lot of those players so I you know it's just gonna probably take awhile and then we'll find out you know by halfway through the year so whether the injuries are taking a toll on Rodgers R.. no mail kinda office of cultural Florida's of things are still floundering in. November you know then and maybe they have some other problems they have been obviously that asked whether problems than just learning a new offense the door to you joining us here Broncos country tonight was so short of the defensive side of the ball because the defense has gotten off to a really great start is so far this year I mean they're they're tops in the league in several categories well what do you attribute to the defense success so far. yeah I mean you know we just got to keep reminding yourself it's just two games but they signed their GM Brian good echoes put big big money in the free free agents press that's where the various weapons Adrian name also to outside linebackers and safeties uses first two draft picks for first rounders on defensive players are trying here is not plan much but there are no savages starting at safety yes all of the specially the four guys a three free agents and savage and especially the three free agent. I really making a difference and I think it's an improvement from what band with you know Kenny Clarke keeps getting better at nose tackle and he's only twenty three so the turn twenty four you the top at least ten to maybe five defensive tackle league now so he keeps getting better and Kevin caning is actually been healthy for the first two weeks which. is something that's been a rarity and when he and Jay Ehrlich Sander on the field together at cornerback this defense is noticeably better we saw last year the only place basically a couple games together but when they play together there at the front got more staff so. it kind of put all that stuff together and. I don't think this is a it also kind of anomaly these first two games I'm guessing they're going to be a pretty good defense and. I mean you never know maybe even maybe even really good I would guess the furnace and up in the top ten in here to points as long as they don't have a devastating injuries I don't know maybe only make top five unknowns. yeah that was one of the things at the start of the season I can have my eye on a felt like Green Bay was gonna be a better defensive team the people thought they were I was kind of felt like Mike Patton got a raw deal in Cleveland very good coach I think you look you know you got the continuity factor if it kind of feels like at this point and tell you know it really all comes together for a full game for Green Bay that they're they're almost the defensive identity team at this point. only hope for sure you know it's kind of figured they'd be. you know one of the lucky to be one one at this point and very likely only to about you know like that probably is a pretty good coordinator and accountability from last year's sure helps a lot you know other teams of. we have taken fairly deep dive their free agency they paid big money for those three guys. no you don't. it's it's stopping him on all of them you know you just give like addressing a miss on some of these but at least there Leon is looking like they got in all three. pretty good players there and guys who are you know maybe not all pro starts with guys were just don't good football players who are making a difference so I could be this defense led to carry on for for half the season and then we'll see how our writers as planned in November last one here for you Pete she thought about us tonight so mellow floor made the decision yesterday to not practice and. that was the team's a little bit banged up and he also mentioned that they've kind of got there are you a bit on the eagles do you think that there's a possibility there overlooking the Broncos but here. I didn't interpret it that way because I noticed Philadelphia did the same thing they just a Walker on Wednesday yeah I think that's the way you know we'll both teams are either going this way practicing shorter in camp maybe I'll even a little less pads and a couple years ago. and I think it's more if they're thinking I had for health reasons I don't think they're thinking it had you know I don't think they're working at on strategic reasons bell I mean maybe I'm all wet here maybe they are there they are looking at but it struck me as just the you know trying to take care guys physically because they're gonna talk with tough week and a half. I had a bomb and I guess a week now and the fact that Philadelphia did the same thing suggests that it's. we want those things it'll become common practice in the league especially if you go on the season and he'd get all backed up makes sense P. thanks so much for the time and I appreciate it all right thanks for a minute. already you can check out his work on Twitter Pete Doherty and of course she's a Packers columnist for the Green Bay press Gazette USA today network Wisconsin will come back to react to that also more sound from risking rell and also we'll hear from von Miller coming up here just a little bit Broncos country tonight Kaley..

"At Radio City? Here's greg. Happy Friday at walk into the weekend. Two hours left in sports central issue. Joining along at four one four seven nine nine one six twenty that is the economic mortgage, talk and text lines an off night for the bucks. But Jaanus is looking to watch game of thrones. Apparently. And he's asking those on social media where he can watch game of thrones. Now, you're always perked up here. Asking are you into game of thrones? Big town. You are. Okay. Much into game. Have you just gotten started? Or are you waiting patiently for the next season to come out? I'm waiting patiently. I caught on probably around season two is when I started watching live, and I'm pretty hooked. Okay. So five minutes ago Janas tweeted, where can I watch game of thrones already? He has about seven hundred likes and one hundred sixty six people telling him where he can watch game of thrones. People are offering up their HBO to go password. Whatever my gut feeling says Janas has that HBO on demand cable? I don't know how much he has cable like now, I think about it. I bet he's got league pass and net flicks. And maybe Hulu, I suppose you'd have made you'd have to have some way to access HBO to get it. Right. Yes. That's not on Netflix. No, no. But I'm trying to think for cable. Radio on demand or something. Yeah, I'm trying to think of what kind of subscription the honest would have somebody help him out this time in the middle of the season. I mean, I try and tell them what to do. But man, this is a this is like an all-star break. Then you gotta start at you're going to invest it. I know he is watching TLC TV. Right. Greg commercial? Maybe it's TCL. I'm sorry. I don't have one. Maybe it's both little Packers free agent. Talk with Pete Doherty coming up in just a few minutes. Earlier today. The brewers picked up a win over the Zona Diamondbacks. Six three was the final. The final score is not as interesting to me is how they arrived at the final score. And what I saw today. It looked like a lineup. I mean, this looked like a lineup. You would see at any point in the regular season. It was Lorenzo Cain and yellowed Brian bronchitis. I activity in the spring one for three today. Mike was dockets was in the lineup today is mardi gras doll was in the lineup today. Travis Shaw had two home runs today. Are they primarily talk full of starters? With the exception of he's tag Hagler. So Eric got the day at first and did not. But I mean that was a Representative lineup from the brewers today. And then later on of course, you got into some of the deaf players tyrod Taylor casting hero. But also of note today was Freddie, Peralta. So I cannot determine just yet who has a leg up based upon their cactus league stats and what they've done and what I've seen because I think it goes beyond the stats with pitching in spring training. But I don't know who has the leg up here. It's Brandon Corbin burns. Freddie, Peralta Peralta was amazing today. He was outstanding nine nine down a perfect three innings done. Gordon burns was pretty strong a couple of days ago, working out of a jam wooder philosophies right there where you need to be. I think two of the three and up in the rotation. And the other probably goes to the bullpen tonight's luxury. It really is. Peralta twenty two. That's the insane part of this whole deal. He's twenty two years old. Think about this for a second Yuliya Sosthene, but just coming out. Okay. Let's say the brewers starting rotation is you'll be seen. Zac davies. Woodruff Peralta burns. Let's say it is that five I'm leaving Jimmy Nelson, Alex. I think he's going to have extended spring training. So give me those five guys. Right. Add up their salaries does that even equal one year of Darvish not even close. I even winning behalf. Scene is what did seven million eight million? Maybe this year. Three of the four guy or three of the five guys are in the hundreds of thousands. I don't even think any one of those guys have cracked a million Davies is a little bit more inflated. But on the west. You're not even at like ten million total for your entire starting five your initial out getting staff. I did notice you lecture Anderson's name out of there. I did. But even if you add face Anderson, I mean, that's not a. That's that's. Bank breaking salary him in him and Jack Davis. I think have similar deals, okay? For just for sake of conversation. As far as the rotation goes. I'm I must fascinated with his position more than anything. I think Anderson's. Yeah. I just I don't think he's a bullpen guy. No. That that you have that luxury. I think with Peralta burns or Woodruff because they're young enough. And they're good enough to pitch at the major league level. It's just a matter of where and. And I think you need a swing guy you need a three inning. Maybe four inning kind of guy to help you through some situations. It was critical during the playoffs. But I would agree with you 'cause trace Anderson sonata bullpen guy. I don't think Nelson's a bullpen guy. But I think you need a couple of long bullpen guys it helps but just think about that. And I think that's part of the reason why the brewers are getting undervalued a little bit. Is a little uncertainty with that starting rotation. The only have one guy with double digit wins a season ago. Pretty interesting stuff wanted to play this for you. A lot of people are very interested in what casting hero will do major league level. And of course, fans get impatient at times and want to step on the gas and hit the accelerator just get this guy up to the major league level. He's the top prospect never mind that he hasn't seen a pinch at the triple eight level yet in his career, but he seem pretty regular time so far during the cactus league and Craig counsel outlines the reasons why I think for Casten this. It's really an experience spring as much as anything. Just he needs to log at.

"Really? If you go back to the show, you can go back and look seven years. I said Aaron Rodgers ate all that. He is. I have told you this this year repeatedly that given how high you're setting his bar. He's the goat that he is simply the most overrated player in the history of the national valley, if you just committed you just admitted it because you said you will not take the go job. You'll take the Baker Mayfield job. You're kidding. No, no, see what you try to. Do. You always try to turn into one. I said roster in what the articles talking about the roster. You gotta have fifty three Aaron Rodgers has twenty. Touchdowns. One interception. But the roster is not conducive for him to win a championship. At look I believe that injury that happened in the first game of the season. I believe it said him back believe it put him behind the eight ball. Give this rosters not built to go to and get to win a championship. Just not. So with that being said the Browns are gonna have like something like ninety million dollars in two hundred nineteen and cap space. Given the young talent new given the ability to go on free agent, and it looks John doors the hell he's doing it looks like they're gonna have room to Adam pieces to get them going even father in the right direction any team. We'll go only as far as the quarterback can take that said, but what about the quarterback acting up and you can't get through to him. And if they're always going to be his way, I've said this for ten years. Whether or not he's good in that. Yeah. Does stop undercuts. His ability to perform on the football field and Aaron Rodgers right now ranks nineteenth in the NFL and QBR and believe it or not he's twenty eight in completion percentage twenty eight. If you don't mind me as. I want to just just for me, maybe Jenny would like to know this people at home this watching so Aaron Rodgers just became this way this year. So all the years that he won the MVP the year that he went to sumo he changed. So thank you for bringing this up because I really appreciated the article by Pete Doherty from Green Bay in which he points out that the Packers have a star quarterback who suddenly blemished, and he didn't goes back into Aaron Rodgers has had to sustain stretches of mediocre play. And the first one he says started in nineteen game run twenty fifteen twenty sixteen in when she put up an eight and eleven record with an eight point nine rating. I don't do passer rating because it's bogus. But it's very low. What the NFL? All right. Well, then let's use it right now because that's very low. And then the the writers saying the next stretch of me overplay came this whole football season, four seven and one with a ninety nine point three and anything under a hundred QB rating is just pathetic. Especially by the standards set by the go has quarterback rating of all time. Yeah. Yeah. You're right. He's here. And I don't know how he still has it. If in fact, I you don't don't know. know. I do know. So and then Jenny read that quote, and it was really good because the anonymous quote here from a longtime NFL sources that the new coach would have to sit down and say, I want to work with you. I can't work for euro..

It's easier for me. I'm sitting out here. I can talk about anybody. I don't cover specific team. But when you're a local reporter it is tougher. Gotta give credit to Pete Doherty who covers the Packers for the Green Bay press gazette. That's a small town and a local paper and he went out yesterday in wrote the Packers jobs. Good Cleveland's a better job. He said number one personnel. Cleveland got better personnel. Number two Browns or swimming in salary cap space. What he didn't mention which I think needs to be mentioned is Aaron Rodgers now making thirty three million dollars a year, which is going to limit some of their elements going forward. So he also brings up a very interesting point. I didn't I did not think of it in these terms. But again, I liked it. A local reporter would go here. I'm just gonna read this to you. He said Aaron Rodgers. He goes, the standard line is the NFL is that all thirty two jobs are great. There's only thirty two available but some rate higher than others. And he goes Aaron Rodgers is great. But it cuts both ways. He's Aaron Rodgers has had to sustain stretches of mediocrity in the last four years. He said there was a night teen game run in fifteen and sixteen when they were eight and eleven he goes in his passer rating was eighty eight he goes the other has been this four seven in one stretch whereas passer ratings under one hundred which got Mike McCarthy fired so credit the Pete Doherty. I don't know him. But a local guy being honest that we think of Cleveland is dysfunctional. But when you look at the personnel when you look at the cap space, and you look at Baker Mayfield not making a ton of money for the next two to three years. You can I keep saying this..

"Right. And so that to me was the bit with the real big disc and Lincoln Riley. Is not that way. And that's how I feel about coach Riley when I see him talking when I see him around his players. I don't feel like that's the problem. He'll have. But a lot of college coaches who jump into the into the pro ranks don't have that expense that that tends to be their number-one. Hangup is mad. How can I communicate with these guys were now my equal like you can't coach as a dictator in the national football. Can't do it even ballot. Check behind the scenes, they say can be funny and glib and is much more of a player's coach for two. Yeah. So there's a reporter here for the Green Bay press gazette. That's a big newspaper there. Well, it's a small newspaper, but it's their newspaper. Pete doherty. This is hard to do when you're in a small town in you're covering the team. It's hard to be brutally honest. Could you gotta go to the grocery store and there's one in town. He comes out, and I gotta give this guy. Pete Doherty credit? He said he goes actually, the Packers job isn't terrible. But Cleveland's a better job. He said first of all it starts. Personnel. They have an elite pass rusher. Myles garrett. They have an elite corner Denzel ward they have their quarterback. They like who looks to have a ten year career we have an older quarterback. And then a personnel. And Cleveland's better than Green Bay. The second thing he says there swimming and salary cap room, and we're not and let me add this because errands making thirty three million next year that didn't get in better. It's getting worse for Green Bay. Let me ask you when I say Brown's when I say Green Bay because they both have openings to you, which is a better job. I mean, you got to define better. I mean, a lot of a lot of people definition of better for like better for white coats. Bruce arians. Let's throw his name. Okay. Bruce arians. Arizona isn't to be around a guy like Aaron Rodgers who is an established passer who's an MVP who's a Super Bowl winning quarterback who has been to the mountaintop. And who just got tired of an old coach, exactly. And who's making thirty three million dollars a year or something around those lines better? For him is Cleveland is clear he can teach young blue bag that I can groom teach the way that that that that that I've taught all these other quarterbacks that I've had and a guy who's probably not gonna question every single thing that I, you know, did I say as a coach, and I'm not saying he's going to do that. But that's just a perception that you see what you're saying is basically one of the best candidates on the market. And I believe you to be right. Bruce Arians would be an excellent candidate. And what you're saying for Bruce Arians Baker in the Browns is actually a better fit. I think you're right at for a lot of coaches where they are. In their in. You know in situations. They might not want to deal with that extra headache of of what we're perceiving Aaron Raj to be like because like almost feel bad for Aaron. Because like before I kinda was was thinking when Winston moss, quote came just came out. I was kind of like, hey, you know, you have to as the leader of that team be willing to to take the criticism be willing to have the coach call you out, it'd be willing to to be the scapegoat scapegoat. So all these other young dues realize, look, this is how it was going to be done. If is getting screamed on a show came mess up. Why show have to bring my game? And so when you know when western mall said that I was kind of like, you know, hang. But then here air come back and say, look, I've told coach McCarthy several time call me out and Fano went to have recruit refuted that yet makes me think that to a certain extent, he is you know, he he probably has done. And maybe coach McCarthy just didn't feel like at that particular time. It was the right time to do that. But that was always a guy who had a DB coach Raheem Moore's great coach, and we were really really close, and he always told other players like look you can't do with d- hawed..

"If you go back to the old show, you can go back and look seven years. I said Aaron Rodgers ate all that. He is. I have told you this this year repeatedly that given how high you're setting his bar. He's the goat that he is simply the most overrated player in the history of the national valley. If you just minuted you just admitted it because you said you will not take the go job. You'll take the Baker Mayfield job. You're kidding. No, no, see what you try to. Do. You always try to turn it into one. I said roster. And that's what the articles talking about the roster. You gotta have v. Three air has twenty touchdowns. One interception. But the roster is not conducive for him to win a championship. At look I believe that injury that happened in the first game of the season. I believe it said him back believe it put him behind the eight ball. But give this rosters not built to go to and get to win a championship is just not. So with this being saying the Browns are going to have something like ninety million dollars in two thousand nineteen and cap space. Given the young talent given the ability to go on and it looks like John doors. What the hell he's doing? It looked like they're going to have room to them pieces to get them going even father in the right direction. Any team will go only as far as the quarterback can take that said what about a quarterback this acting up and you can't get through to him. And if they're always going to be his way, I've said this for ten years. Whether or not he's good or not yet does stop undercuts. His ability to perform on the football field and Aaron Rodgers right now ranks nineteenth in the NFL and QBR and believe it or not he's twenty eight in completion percentage twenty eight. If you don't mind me as limit wanna just just for me, maybe Jenny would like to know this people at home this watch it. So Aaron Rodgers just became this way this year. So all the years anyone the MVP the year that he went to zoom. Oh, he's changed it. So thank you for bringing this up because I really appreciated the article by Pete Doherty from Green Bay in which he points out that the Packers have a star quarterback who suddenly blemished, and he didn't goes back into Aaron Rodgers has had to sustain stretches of mediocre play. And the first one he says started in nineteen game run twenty fifteen twenty sixteen in when she put up an eight and eleven record. With an eight point nine rating. I don't do passer rating because it's bogus. But it's very low within a. Well, then let's use it right now because that's very low. And then the the writers saying the next stretch of mediocre play- came this whole football season, four seven and one with a ninety nine point three and anything under a hundred QB rating, is is just pathetic. Especially by the standards set by the go has quarterback rating of all time. Yeah, you're right. He's he's here. And I don't know how he still has it. If in fact, you do know, I do know, so and then Ginny read that quote, and it was really good because the anonymous quote here from a longtime NFL source is that the new coach would have to sit down and say, I want to work with you. I can't work for you read in. And. Plane that hill Rogers, you don't own the team you are play on the team a damn good wouldn't yell. You're the best player on the team. But why would a coach up to come in and says, I wanna work with or you know, here's the thing if good of their Raj of his bed always saying, and you go the tape the twenty twelve when I said it he era that he's a Luton condescending and everybody doesn't like playing with or being around the goat. You can't be because if teammate everybody everybody loved playing with stuff all they did was wins. Seriously. So what nobody didn't like playing with him a question if I were to go ask taekwondo Underwood. What are this thought of Tom Brady? What'd you think? He would say. Plus, I love playing with it, really..

"Pure and simple period end of story. And you have repeatedly told me for years that Aaron Rodgers is the go go the go go the law case big goat cap letter O eighteen caps. And you have repeatedly told me that you're not all in on Baker Mayfield discount in you've ripped him yet lash. Yep. Yep. Tournament part broke them down. And you said going into the draft that you would take Sam darnold over Baker Mayfield. I said, no, I'm taking Baker number one overall. And now you've come around to say, well, maybe he could be the real deal one year. I'm not taking anything. So you realize you just admitted publicly that if you were going to choose a job as a head coach you would not take the goat. You would not take the. Cynic quarterback. You take a quarterback? You've had your doubts about in Cleveland, Ohio. You listen to what I Fe I heard every because you're you're backpedaling how and then you're trying to to make the case, which is absolutely laughable. You're ahead of the curve. I was a head of the curve. I'm the one who stood right here. Duggan for four years. Really? If you go back to the show, you can go back and look seven years. I said Aaron Rodgers ate all that. He is. You gotta have fifty three Aaron Rodgers has twenty. Touchdowns. One interception. But the roster is not conducive for him to win a championship. At look I believe that injury that happened in the first game of the season. I believe it said him back believe it put him behind the eight ball. "Conservative thought not just talk. Who do you think the Milwaukee journal sentinel wants out more was it Scott Walker or is it Mike McCarthy it is every couple of days? You will see a story like this from a Packers writer at the journal sentinel this time it's Pete Doherty of Packers news the Mike McCarthy Aaron Rodgers marriage has run its course with the Packers. I don't think there is any chance that McCarthy is back next year. I just don't unless the Packers make some sort of miracle run to the playoffs. And I'm sure by now all of you have seen what would have to fall into place, the Packers need to wait out. First of all they need to finish nine six and one anything short of that. They don't get it. I believe. They beat Arizona. I would quite frankly be surprised if they beat the Chicago Bears in Chicago, that's one that I could see them ending their season, especially since the bears would most definitely want to and the Packers season. And they have to get so much help that they have something like a three percent to nine percent chance of making the playoffs at anyone who said, well, this could happen. And then this could happen. And then this could happen and the Packers could get in is not being realistic. I would I would. I'm not gonna make any sort of bull. Like, I'm gonna shave my head if the Packers because then they do and I'm celebrating Christmas while bald. So I'm not going to do that. And they do have a relatively soft schedule the road games. They have laughed against the bears and the New York Jets. The jets are not a good team. And they've got home dates against the Packers the falcons and the cardinals very very beatable teams the Atlanta Falcons offense scares me a little bit. But they're so banked up. I mean their season was effectively over before it really began with all the injuries. They had on the defensive side of the ball. They can't stop anybody. So I don't think that the Packers are going to make the playoffs. I think it's just it's too big of a hill to climb even Aaron Rodgers who famously said a couple of years ago, we're going to run the table a year or two before that he said Arielle, a X. They make the playoffs. They make some deep runs into the playoffs. I think the run the table year. They ran the table all the way to the NFC. Championship game before they lost to Atlanta. And this year, he's saying look we're going to need a lot of help that to me says even Rodgers the eternal optimist when the Packers Doug themselves early season holes in the past is saying, it's it's probably not going to happen. And the journal sentinel every time there's an editorial. It's Mike McCarthy must go. And quite frankly, I can't say I disagree. That's the thing. I his is offense. Yes is stale. It's not doing the things that how how insane is it that the Chicago Bears offense is more innovative, and it's more electric, and it's more effective, quite frankly, then an Aaron Rodgers lead Green Bay Packers offense. It's got to be the first time in a decade with Rodgers behind the helm for the Packers that that's happened. But credit first year coach Mike, Matt Nagy who is most likely going to win coach of the year. It's either going to be him. Maybe Sean McVeigh of the LA Rams. I could see Andy Reid, but it's invariably the coach in this. What I never understand about these coach of the year awards. It's not offer the best coach it's for the coach or the manager whomever who exceeds preseason expectations by the most. Yeah. You you could give it to Jason garish washed Atkins. Boy that was a shocker last night. They beat the seemingly on the Cowboys beat the seemingly unstoppable New Orleans Saints drew breeze passes for one hundred and drew Brees had a bad game. You know, how I know Greece because I've got him in fantasy of course in what amounts to a must-win game in our work league. I've got Michael Thomas who puts up another stinker anyway. Eventually there comes time where you just need change, and it's not change for change's sake. But it is pretty obvious that there needs to be the Packers need to move on. And the fact that you've got a general manager who's essentially neutered. He can do nothing about the head coach because I think it was really obvious when they set up this structure where both Gouda Kunst and McCarthy report directly to Mark Murphy. I think this was a tacit acknowledgement that good acoust- want to get rid of Mike McCarthy last year he wanted to start over and you can't blame him every new general manager wants his guys in there. Every new general manager wants a fresh start wants a clean slate wants to be judged on his own merits doesn't want inherit a head coach like he did. So Murphy's resolution to this was okay. Well, I make the decision on the head coach you make the decision on personnel and everything outside of that. And. Oh boy. Oh boy. I I just I don't understand. Why there is this obsession with the specula-? There are a whole ton of things that have gone into. Yeah. Producer, dave. You're right. They don't own any tiebreakers. He's either. Which is in the run the table your they held like every tiebreaker. So it was it was much more doable than it is this year. They need four or five unlikely things to happen. The most likely I think is that Philadelphia loses one game because that Knoxville Adelphia out the Packers then need three other things. Like Seattle needs to lose to Detroit needs to lose to. I forget all of the media Minnesota. I think Minnesota needs to lose three now. No, I don't believe they're gonna lose three of their next five games. And yes, my my buddy is texting me. I've got the sl. Article up right now, it's the Monday morning quarterback was an article that was. Published last night. How it all went wrong in Packer land? A one of a kind franchise a front office is conservative approach a roster caught in limbo and the friction between the legendary quarterback in the embattled head coach a closer examination as what is into. What has led the Green Bay Packers most disappointing season of the past decade as a very very long, very deep. Look at what went wrong this season. I would highly recommend reading it. It's written by Kaelin caller of Sports Illustrated. Sl dot com is where you can fight at ten forty nine. This is the Dan Donald shell..
