"And we're not going to go too deep into this promotion unless it's going to happen. But it basically sets up the guys to, you know, help proper ratings out of curiosity, and then in which we are able to do is deliver. They're all for their own side. It's a buzz, JR, you guys were creating a massive buzz. And Eddie would write in his book that he knew immediately how different the WWF was to WCW with a more professional workspace. Did they convey that to you at all JR? Did they say, hey, man, this is night and day. All the time. All the time. They were so happy. Because they felt stability. You know, and I appreciate it to hear that. So they were having a good experience. And they had no second thoughts about being hired. Had to be refreshing for them, again, next chapter of their lives. And sound like they were excited. And ready to go, Mick Foley, by the way, who foley is pod. You can find him here on ad free shows, killing it with his podcast. He'd go out of his way behind the camera. To be associated with these guys. And it felt like he was the perfect person to be there for them. Well, the goodwill ambassador, and everybody said, that's a cool picture. I haven't seen that picture before. I think maybe I have forgot about it. But you know, Mick was the perpetual goodwill ambassador. He is. And from the observer JR says, Chris Benoit, dean malenko Perry Saturn and Eddie Guerrero. Debuted as the radicals on January 31st. At raw from Pittsburgh and what was considered a big push in JR's words. They got their push buddy from the get go. Or they gotta wear it. We created an awareness of them. We created an awareness of the four. We created an awareness for the radicals that unit, and I think that was the entire goal that first that first of parents on raw and Pittsburgh. The audience was very in Pittsburgh. They really sold that well. They were excited to see those four guys. They were sad to see a new group. I think wrestling fans in general, we talked about this. They live surprises. And they seem to have a turn on for well constructed factions. Shall we say? And so they saw something that they thought, which is great because they're buying the tickets. If they thought their value and the radicals, just by saying I'm sitting on the front row, that's a good sign. GR wrestling fans were turned on. They came down, sat front row, they looked like top guys, prime time players right from the get go. How excited were they when the show was over? Do you remember the kind of their excitement level everybody's excitement level for them? Yeah, they were, they were happy. They were happy. They were glad to get the monkey off their back and get on television. The reset button, but they were very positive, all of them. There have good experiences, and they would do those good experiences. Did you remember any kind of reaction at all from Vince at that point after that first night? He seemed to be happy. He seemed to be happy. He saw that the audience had a more a keener awareness of these guys than he might have perceived. I'm not sure. Because he didn't watch a lot of wrestling none. And so he was familiar with their recent works. As a some others, but I think sometimes we're looking back at that thing. I think a lot of the talent. You know, when you had talents that were going to the old man and saying, I want to work with it being wild. I want to work with Eddie or whatever. Let's do their faction against my faction or whatever the case may be. You know, you know, that's a good that's a real good indicator that we hit the right accord, so to speak. Well, this from the observer as a debut, the first light was strong and that the entire show revolved around them and they were put over in commentary as the best wrestling talent around. Probably more in one night than they were ever in WCW. And it was made clear they were underutilized in WCW, thus playing into the idea they were bigger stars than the level that they had been pushed at. They didn't acknowledge or hint at Benoit having won the WCW title and never losing it. No doubt due to the political and perhaps even legal ramifications of giving context, credibility for what has been argued elsewhere as nothing more than a prop as part of the story that shouldn't be meant to take seriously. By immediately taking out the top heels, they were presented as major league players. Their departure from WCW while not gone into great detail was vaguely talked about as if the audience all knew the story, which is still talking to only a portion of the television audience. The WWF got in their digs with remarks about performing in front of arenas that aren't empty and fans who actually bought their tickets. Listen, they were never presented like this, JR and WCW. So this is a shot across the bow to the other talent in WCW to be like, hey, look, see what you're missing. This is what could be done for you, right? Oh, that was a general concept. Yeah, sure. Hey, look, if they did it in their happy, why don't you call them? Find out if they're happy. See how they're experienced as with WWE thus far has gone. And the rest that want you there are the best salesman you got. They know they're going to hear a sales pitch for me. Another hair sales pitch events, if he wants you. And

"Talk to a licensed specialist to find out if it's right for you. Yeah, melcher said, it's believed Benoit received in the neighborhood of 400,000 on a downside guarantee, and the other three in the $250,000 range. It really isn't a major issue this year because WWF business is huge and there are no signs of it not remaining that way. Exactly what you said JR, virtually every WWF wrestler this past year earned significantly more than their downside. In the case of all four, the downside figure would be significantly less than they earned in WCW. But to your point, they're all going to be well taken care of with just the business that WWF was doing in this time period. Yeah, yeah. Like I said, money was not a major issue. It was not a stumbling block. Once we found a number that those guys could live with and that we could live with, then let's roll. There you go. So that's what we're doing. So they're all paid. They're taking care of money is not a factor. It's written in Eddie's book that Benoit offered to drop the WCW title on nitro, but they were all sent home instead. Is that something JR as head of talent relations at the time that you would have done in that situation? It's hard to say. If a guy comes to me and says, I want out, and I want to leave. And there hell bent on such thoughts, then I probably would have had him at work, but there's a danger in working and turning the title back in. They get injured. Now you're stuck with a big ass contract, and they're getting injured. I'm going to hire him. Yeah. So why? Your damage goods right now. So it's just didn't make any common sense. So I probably wouldn't just let it go. Quite frankly, just move on. Yeah, cut your losses and move on and by the way, JR, it's reported in the observer that there were 15 to 20 wrestlers in all who were looking to leave WCW. Perry Saturn was supposedly the loudest about his unhappiness. But what I want to do is kind of just have a little fun here, discuss some other talent that didn't make the jump or maybe didn't ask for a release. And I want to go through some names with you. First of all, here's the list. Shane Douglas, that's reported that Shane asked for his release, but found out quickly that the WWF was not interested in him, so JR was at you that wasn't interested, was Vince still not over what happened when he was with the company as dean Douglas? I don't know, Vince was derived Shane for whatever reason. You know, the expert in wrestling that had the most confidence in Shane Douglas was Jim Barnett. Barnett thought he was a stereotype or a classic baby face. Blond hair, blue eyes, good size, but for whatever reason, Vincent has never sold a chain. So that didn't go anywhere. All right, next up, JR Billy Kidman, someone who would come into the company when WCW closes at the time really had no push outside of the Cruiserweight division, was he someone you think could have made the move and been successful? Maybe, but we weren't doing much with the cruiserweights. And Billy was a small, smaller guy, highly talented, highly talented. And I think he's still there, I think. I think he works. In an agent role. He's smart kid. So I used to call him the biggest overachiever in the world because he married Tori Wilson. Yeah, my goodness. What are you thinking? So anyhow, but Billy had checked a lot of boxes. There's no doubt about that. And we did use him so. But we just weren't we're not prioritizing our budget to hire more cruiserweights. All right, I got another one for you here. Conan, Conan had long been unhappy in WCW, but he never we never saw him in the WWF after even after WCW closed out. Did Coney just not fit the World Wrestling Federation do you think JR? Because his previous tenure in the company was max moon. And that was it. I have great respect for Charles, AKA Conan. As a brilliant mind, was a hell of a worker when he's healthy. Great star. But we couldn't find or we didn't admit we didn't look hard enough. We didn't, we couldn't find something that we thought would be a great fit. For what he would need to be happy. Including money and place on the card and things like that. You got to remember he's established veteran. It was a star, he drew a lot of money in Mexico and he drew money in America, et cetera. Wherever he went, he had good runs. But you know, you would have been great to have around because he could help the guys, but Vince just wasn't supposed to sound about that concept, that idea. All right, JR final three names, and I think you kind of already answered this when you talk about the Cruiserweight and not a focus on it at the time, but you have hooven two Guerrero psychosis and Rey Mysterio. It's reported that Conan told WCW that he represented all three of these guys and they were ready to leave with them. And as you said, they didn't have a Cruiserweight division at the time, but do you think that the audience or Vince was ready at all for something like these guys in 2000? Well, we were ready for Rey Mysterio. But Rey Mysterio had when ray, when they closed down, they owed ray a lot of money. They meaning WCW pronoun, boy. And so,

Wrestling fan on Twitter wants to know, do you think dibiase's WWF character could have ever worked as a face? Don't get me wrong, he was one of the best heels of all time, but do you think he could have pulled that off? Yes, he could have pulled it off. It would have been the best presentation of him, probably not. But remember that we work in a fictional world. If the stories are believable enough, it plausibly enough, just about anything that's good will work, including dibiase being the $1 million man being a baby face. Here's another question from PB. He wants to know in 91, I was at a signing with JR Missy Hyatt Polly dangerously Z man and Jason hervey to promote super brawl one. In the middle of the signing, Ted dibiase showed up. It was there to say hi to friends. Was there ever any negotiation going on that you know of to get him over to WCW? Well, no, I think we all knew that we'd love to have him. Because of his greatness. Right. I don't think there are any ongoing. It was almost like he was untouchable. Right. In a sense that he had such a great persona. He's getting a great push and goddamn Conrad. You know, those pushes are everything. This is my push. And so he was in the midst of all the greatest runners live. So I don't know that we could have compared competed for the money. But I don't know of any ongoing discussions whatsoever. He was in the same place we were and he had friends and, you know, he and I have been around each other since the 70s. It was just one of those days it was a nice day. Nice day at work because you get to see Ted and you hadn't planned on it. Next week, we're going to be talking about one of the craziest opportunities for the WWF of all time. When the radicals came to work for the company, how it all went down from the purview of the head of talent relations. How he struck deals with Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn and dean malenko. We'll be talking about that next week here on the program and next week here on the program.

"Get back into Survivor Series, because we're almost there, I want to talk about a couple more pieces of news and notes. Randy Orton is going to barge in on some of the programming here with the RNN update. It's a funny concept, but it does eventually feel like we're kind of out of things for him to talk about. I appreciate that. Looking back at this 20 years ago, we get to see these stars in various states of their career growth, you know, we see. Seen a rapping for the first time. We're seeing Batista not wrestling as deacon Batista, but wrestling is Dave Bautista for the first time. And Randy Orton, the RNN news update. We're trying to show different sides of his personality, did you think that was the right fit for him, or is it just one of those things where when you got a new guy, you just got to try some things? Well, it didn't click to me. Yeah. Which means nothing other than this personally I didn't think it was the best thing we could have done for Randy. But it was worth a try because it had gotten over. And I'd be singing a different song right now. But I didn't think it fit Randy real well. It was a, it was a failed attempt to find something for him to do that was positive and productive. I don't think that was the answer. What is positive and productive is Mysterio and edge beating angle and Benoit will win the tag titles on SmackDown. They go nearly 25 minutes and folks really loved it. This is where we start to see the SmackDown 6 form over on SmackDown, ray, and edge, angle, Benoit, the Guerrero's just some really good wrestling contrast that some of the silly storytelling we've got over on Monday Night Raw. And he would even take to the Ross report and say that Ross trying to find the correct balance between steak and sizzle, which if you understand JR speak means, we got a lot of horseshit over there, but hang tight, we're working on it. Well, that was pretty close to now. I'd say that's accurate. Yeah. You would also note in your office report that our old pal Gerald Brisco is headed down to the Kurt Angle classic and he's going to be tagging along with angle and Brock Lesnar trying to scout some new talent. It's also noted in your report that Terry Taylor is now an agent for raw working with a lot of the talent before the show starts along with Aaron Anderson. Andy report that WWE's hard rip Rogers as a coach to start working down in OVW, I think everybody listening to this is pretty familiar with Terry Taylor and ORN Anderson, but maybe some of our listeners aren't too familiar with rip Rogers. What can you tell us about rap and why was he the right guy to join up for OVW here? Well, when you talk about trainers, you know, one name possible I hit first as Tom Pritchard. Who was a hell of a trainer. Dory junior was a hell of a trainer. But riff Rogers is a little different animal. You know, he came from, he worked in territories back in the day, but he is so fundamentally sound. I'd put him in one of the top two or three spots in my personal list of guys that train wrestlers. Even to this day, if you get under his learning tree, if you're a wrestler, you want to be a wrestler. You'll be making a good move. So he was very underrated, maybe? Before he did a great job for us, teaching guys the basic fundamentals with no bullshit, no nonsense and just a hardworking guy. So he's got his, he's made his mark. He's got his niche now in the wrestling business. And that being one of the top trainers in the world. Well, we also got some news and notes over on SmackDown. It looks like Heyman and Lesnar are going to be splitting up here where advancing that storyline, but in a very real circumstance, Saturn is officially released and melter would say it was no surprise, and apparently the decision was made while he was injured that they weren't going to bring him back. He would say the nature of his contract, which expires in January, is that he's getting paid in full through January, but apparently paying a big lump sum for the release now, which may be gets the contract off the books quicker, we talked to Bruce years ago about when the radicals first jumped ship from WCW to the WWE and he saw, of course, everybody believed that was a huge upside in Benoit, and he thought that Eddie Guerrero might be the Hispanic Shawn Michaels, but Bruce specifically thought, man, Perry Saturn is a big dude with a great look. There's a lot of upside on our side of the fence for that guy. And it never really clicked. I mean, listen, he had some good matches and he made some chicken salad with things like moppy, but it never really got any momentum. Why do you think that was? The Vince just not get it with Perry? I don't think he did. I don't think Vince did. I think Perry was couldn't get out of the shadow of been born Eddie. Right. And so by comparison, there is no comparison. You know, so but Perry was easy to work pretty easy to work with. You know, you still got to deal with all the external things, Conrad, you know, they're all going to alcohol abuse, pain pills, all this shit. Never goes away seemingly. I don't think it's quite as drastic today. By any means, as it was in that era.

"So, you know, after that in WCW, we know the kind of trials and tribulations you went through, the Goldberg thing didn't work out the way you wanted it to, you were gonna leave, you go to WWF. And then in those first few months, it's touch and go with what's going on. But I would see one of the first big matches you had in WWF that were just, you know, they featured and everything can wait right was the last man standing match with Triple H at Philly ordered 2000. Can you talk about that match and how important that match was to you kind of getting up the card in WF and being seen as more than just, you know, a med car comedy character ever. How important was that match? Triple H and I didn't get along back at that point in time. There was a lot of animosity for real because I had the audacity to come to WWE and that people didn't like it. They didn't want WCW guys coming to WWE because they felt we were inferior. So you could do ten things right, but if you did one thing wrong, you were under the microscope. And you were in trouble. And those guys had pull, so they would bury you to Vince. And it was just politics, right? And I didn't really know much about politics at the time, but I learned very, very quickly. And I remember Triple H when I first got there, he said, if you ever need anything, give me a call. And I was like, oh, that's cool. I remember we were in San Jose, and I was trying to find directions to Stockton or something like that. And I couldn't find what I was like, I'll call Triple H. You seem like a nice guy. Seemed like a cool guy. He gave me his number. This will be the start of our friendship. You know, we're going to get longer to be friends. So I call him, and he's like, hello, who's this? It's Chris Jericho. Yeah? Hey, do you know how to get to Stockton? Yeah, you want to know how to get the Stockton? Yeah, buy a fucking map. And I hear this laughter in the background of Xbox and road dogs hangs up and I'm like, well, there goes that friendship down the toilet. So that was kind of the initial idea there. And so there was a lot of issues between the two of us. It was a problem that I had with China. That was kind of predicated by him, and I almost got fired about a month in because Vince said, you know, the problem is I got called into a meeting with Vince Jim Ross and blackjack Lanza. And that's when Vince was like, you're the problem with you is you're the drizzling shits. You're not worth the paper your contract is printed on. And I was like, your green is grass. Man. Lighten up, dude. So anyways, it was very, very lots of heat, shall we say. So when I finally got the chance to work with Triple H, if you remember prior to the last man standing, I won the WWF title of it at the time. WWF title from Triple H on raw. For like 15 minutes, which if you watch that one back, it's in State College, Pennsylvania, the crowd loses the front mind. When I pin him. And that's where it's like, if Vince just would have gone with this, he could have built me into a big start at the level of all those other guys. And so everyone would have a different shade to paint with, right? But that's not the way you have to you have to earn respect and earn your way there in WWE. So whatever it was. So I had to give the belt back after 50 minutes. But I know that Vince saw the reaction and Triple H did too. It doesn't matter if you like me or not. Business business and people like this kid. So they came to this pay per view. I believe it was called fully loaded. When it was going to be three of the young guys up and coming guys against three of the established guys. And I could be wrong on this. You guys probably know better than I do, but I believe the three matches were Kurt Angle versus the undertaker. Chris Benoit versus The Rock and Chris Jericho versus Triple H, last man standing. And this was kind of our coming out party of getting a chance to really show what we could do. And Triple H was great in that match. We had a great match. I still remember Stephanie McMahon has the hardest slap in wrestling and she's slapping that match so hard. It's like one of those slap contests that you watch these two big guys and they slap each other in the face until someone falls down. I wanted to fall down. It was very stiff. And I remember too that the table that finished was based around, there is a big sign in gorilla position that said, stay away from the Spanish announce table. Awesome. Stay away. The producers said it. The agent said it. Everybody said it. There's a sign in gorilla stay away. And the match before us was China versus Perry Saturn, guess what China did not do. She did not stay away. They hit this table and collapsed it. And something in my head says that maybe she might have done that on purpose because it was her ex-boyfriend that was in the next match. Maybe I don't know. But anyway, so that's our finish. And they do this right at the end, and we have like 5 minutes to come up with new fish. It was supposed to be like a belly to back through that, something along those lines. And basically what we had to do was go to the dasher boards, which are those like the black boards, you know? Just basically little fences. And do it off of that, which was really hard because Triple H and I are not the most agile of guys. And I remember climbing on this thing already. You ready? And we finally did the finish. So the finish, we land on the table, and both guys are out crowd is going bananas because they just know that Chris Jericho is going to get up. Right one second before Triple H does. And last man standing, you count to ten. And whoever

"I'll pay you double, whatever it takes. Okay, we're not supposed to sell this before people are in the arena, but take what you need, just leave me alone. Would you come down with like four pieces of pizza to plastic cups of beer? Oh, yeah. A single box of pizza, a single pie and a 6 pack. And there's literally every wrestler every agent, every seamstress, every security, every single person in the company is there. And Triple H sitting literally right across from me, you know, because the setup was like the defendants, myself, edge and Christian, we were all tried together. You know, sitting in the box, the makeshift jury box, and Kane, you know, Glenn Jacobs as the bailiff sitting behind us or standing behind us, really, because, you know, it wasn't imposing. And then JBL, and this is not corporate JR Ewing JBL. This is crazy long haired Bradshaw JBL. He's the judge, right? He's the prosecutor. Oh, gosh. Undertaker was the job. Dude. And you know, as you know, as you experienced it, and that's why you said what you said to me afterwards, which I really could have used if I had the foresight enough to take you up on it or seek you out was edge and Christian knowing what wrestlers court were and later I found out being tipped off that they knew wrestlers court was coming. As Christians said to me, some guy named rhymes with Burt flange. Canary burch. Yeah. So if I didn't tell me, so like edge and Christian had funny props, like they talk of, they wrote their own book, how to kiss ass and get ahead. It's like that old Bugs Bunny, daffy duck, cartoon, where bugs does a routine and gets a standing ovation and then daffy does his thing and just cricket literally crickets. Yeah, yeah. Every time I tried to say something, it just did not get over at all. How did you what was your final sentence? What was the final verdict? Well, first of all, guilty. Right. It detail in the book. But I don't think there's ever been a wrestler's court like that where so many people chimed in and it really got like I thought Kane as the bailiff was there for more effect and pageantry. But he actually was needed as a bailiff to restrain people at certain points. You know, Xbox who again, I get along with great now, you know, but at the time was pretty incensed over some things. Because it really, it delved from the doll incident, you know, nobody was really talking about the doll other than me trying to talk about the flash's origin story to dead silence. It was really more about, you know, all the locker room violations I had violated without knowing it. Right, because you just don't know. Yeah. There's no handbook of rules to tell you how to act backstage. Exactly. Which I really could have used. Yeah. And some of it is common sense. Don't get me wrong. You know, maybe not now post COVID, but back then, you know, shaking hands, huge, huge deal. What was Perry Saturn's quote? Perry Perry said something to the effect of like, he'd been, I've been here 67 days and he only shook my hand 31 of those days and then the other days he didn't even shake my hand or not. And the one line that you forgot to put in the book was I was so surprised because you're like, as it started to kind of get a little bit loosened up, you're like, if you guys ever have any ideas for creative, just come to me. I'm a wide open, bob, I was like, I got an idea for you. I become the world who can champion. How's that for an idea? Yeah, I don't know. I might be in a later chapter. I don't remember. Yeah, that was one of those things. And then of course, after the trial, I went up to him and then like, because the end of the trial, I mean, let me go back. Taker did find this guilty, which was kind of a foregone conclusion. Right. But you know, take her, as you know, is really cool. It wasn't like guilty a piece of shit. Get out of the locker room forever. You know, he passed sentence, I forget what edge and Christian paid him off. I don't know what this was relatively light. But for me, it was, he wanted me to write a I think it was a 2000 or 5000. It was a big essay he wanted me to write in terms of why I respect the business. Which I thought was interesting. And blow it off. I mean, I took it seriously. And I really wish I kept it. But I gave it to taker, who gave me feedback. I had to wait a full week for him to read it. Read it on the spot. He had things to do. He's the freaking undertaker. But the next week, he was like, a plus. And I really opened up in that essay. It wasn't like some sarcastic blow off thing. And also hang out with funaki and stuff like that because it had been alleged that I had blown them off. Again, the subtlety of the nod of recognition versus the physical handshake. But that meant that meant a lot at the time, and even now just the respect of guys in the locker room and like you said, people didn't know who you were at first, so that almost in a strange way got you respect from a lot of those guys to endear that and to come back. You know, I'm sure, I mean, I remember talking to you and you were like, at one point, I don't know if I even want to come back. You know, it's super embarrassing or whatever it was. Like, was it hard for you to kind of like understand what had just happened? I was definitely shook for the first time ever in my life, I asked pat for one of his cigarettes, pat Patterson, and literally smoked a cigarette afterwards. I don't smoke, and I didn't smoke before, and I haven't smoked a cigarette since, but in that moment, that seemed to be not trying to be funny either. That just seemed to be a necessary thing, because pat came in, pat came in halfway through. If you recall, and pat didn't realize that there was like tension going on because usually these things are a little like a little more loose tongue in cheek, you know, not all of them, but most of them. And then pat comes in and go, that little shitty changed my matches all the time. Oh my, you know, instead of everyone laughing, they were like, he doesn't want. No one did. He's choking. So he ended with me kind of given this heartfelt speech after all attempts at levity and comedy had failed spectacularly. You know, to the boys and the entire locker room and the staff and everything, basically saying, you know, that I am really guess introverted and I'm like not the guy that will run up to people and start keeping and shaking hands and what have you, but I need to get better at that because that's the email that's the locker room culture that we don't need to adjust to me. I need to adjust to the locker room culture. Right. And get on track and seriously, you know, at the time, too. You're writing for everybody, even though at TV, you know, I tend to gravitate and work with people. I was comfortable with and had a rapport with. So I'd be working with you and rock and edge and Christian and Mick Foley and Kurt Kurt. In hurricane and Booker and gold dust and like that was like my comfort zone, but you know, at the same time, when you're doing that, the people that you're not working with and they see you see you and me in the corner watching

"Outside the locker room. And Brock was standing down the hall, talking to Briscoe. Looked up like he'd seen a ghost, he said, my God, who's that? Of course I'm being a wise as much cherry Briscoe. He's working for you forever. Oh, I don't mean a God damn it, JR. Who set monster? The monster was Brock Lesnar. And at that point, the love affair began. Love at first sight. Love at first sight, indeed. By the end of 2001, he's on the road full-time for the WWF. He's not on TV yet, but he's working every Monday and Tuesday in dark matches and he's in the opening matches at the house shows. When did you think he was actually ready? I know there's been a lot of talk about too much too soon with certain guys. It feels like you guys got it right with Brock. I know that ultimately, you know, he decided this lifestyle wasn't for him and left for a bit, but when did you think, oh man, we're ready. Do you remember that moment? It wasn't when we introduced him. Yeah. I thought we were a little premature on it. Okay. I thought we should have waited until he got more comfortable on the road. You know, making a slide sometime, you know, living alone living with a roommate, all those things that we don't talk about. Just talk about the wrestling match. Because we love the dead. We need the dirt. Is there any dirt? Yeah, there's plenty of dirt. You ain't going to hear it here. Because that's just not the way I operate, and that's why Conrad operates. But I thought we were a little early on in comic, to be honest with you. So we know that he's wrestling everyone and LBW. Guys like Orton Enrico, but he's also getting some reps against main roster guys like crash Holly, Perry Saturn, for gnocchi, Kurt Henning, he's even in some tags against the APA teaming with Roman waterman, what happened with waterman? Why didn't he do more? That's a name that we heard a lot, and then held a nice guy, find human being, no doubt. I wish he'd have made it because he'd been a real benefit to our locker room. He's a former coach. He had a little age on him. Maybe age. I mean, I think he probably was late 20s, early 30s, which is not old, but it's old, it's old to get your feet wet for the first time. And he doesn't have the charisma to connect with the audience. That's all. You know, like a lot of guys just couldn't connect for whatever reason. The audience didn't accept it. And that was what happened there. But you couldn't find a national guy and like I said, I like those nice guys in the locker room that are mature and sensible. And he definitely was that. So Brock doesn't debut on TV until the night after WrestleMania 18. So a good four to 5 months on the road before being thrust into the limelight of the world TV audience. How far in advance did you know? And I know you weren't necessarily handling creative there, but when did you know Brock was going to debut after WrestleMania? I know that the Monday after WrestleMania became a big thing. I don't know that it was always like that, but yeah. What's the point of time we've heard that Vince would tell stories sort of WrestleMania to WrestleMania and sometimes work backwards? Well, in this era, things are moving a lot faster. When did you know, okay, day after many, we're going to see with the kick and do. Well, I think this Russo actually wanted to get rocket involved earlier. And I don't blame Vince spent goddamn to write TV to get this guy that's sitting in the wings waiting for a script, so to speak. That's where you head, but I convinced Vince. That's too early. I said he can't, you know, I'm afraid he's going to hurt somebody. He's just not ready. Timing. You don't want to drop people in their head because he'll try everything. The boys are the worst influence. The wrestlers didn't give a shit of rock succeeded or not. That's just their ego, and the lack of common sense. This song just could make you a lot of money if you're smart. Right. So I guess you're not smart, are you? Or is that insecure? So anyhow, I talk bits out of it once. I say he's just not ready. I said, here's the deal. Here's how close this conversation and we'll do it. Any way you want, as always. If I got on a stand of a court, and they asked me if I thought Brock Lesnar was ready, it lied to this accident that occurred. My honest answer would be no. And there is for we hang. We got no recourse. We got no defense. And he agreed. So we waited a little bit longer just more seasoning or timing. You know, all those things. And I don't think you saw too many more shooting star presses after that WrestleMania 19 when I don't think. I don't think we saw that again. But the debut, man, he interrupts a hardcore title match he destroys everyone in sight, particularly poor little spike Dudley, but what a way to make an impact and, you know, it feels like it almost set a precedent that, hey man, if you want a debut somebody in a big way, do it the day after WrestleMania, because man, they rolled out the red carpet here for Brock, did they not? Oh, yeah. If you work for Lexus and you've got a new model coming out, you want all the whistles and bells and promotion and eyes on that product that you can. And so that's kind of what the goal was. And it worked pretty well. It worked pretty well. He made Brock made an impact on his debut. People were talking the next day. Talk to me a little bit about the pairing with Paul Heyman. You know, of course, we've seen that have a lot of success in more recent years these days we know Paul is with our tribal chief Roman Reigns, but back then, what a genius pairing it was for him and Paul, it just was magic right away, is that creative that was that somebody came up with or did Paul see it and say, oh, I want a campaign. I want that guy. What do you remember about that? Well, you know, Heyman is very opportunistic. He's smart.

"Right now, here comes Rob Van Dam and flash funk is going to take him on. The soon to be dubbed mister Monday night and Van Damme's interesting story here, JR, he's unhappy and ECW. He's being courted by the WCW, but here he is being spotlighted by the WWF, was Paul Heyman trying to get you guys to work something out with the van dam here or what? Do you remember any of this stuff? Rob was great talent, Paul. Absolutely. You know, he was a great talent, so I'm sure Heyman was singing his phrases. And while I'm just, he's a natural and everything he does. He's a great wrestler. We all know baby face or heel. He can broadcast. And as we see here, he's at the right place, it's the right time as a manager. And so it was a nice little hey rube here at ringside. There's the Jimmy cordas. Jack dome. Jack done? Yep. All the fishers are down there to try to maintain some order. There's a very talented flash funk. A man who we hired on the recommendation of Vader, I believe. So Cheryl skaggs, guru talented guy. And we've talked about it here and as we're getting a little ad in here for pro max, that's interesting. You guys had a close relationship with ECW at this time. How come guys like Raven, Stevie Richards, Perry Saturn? Why do you think they ended up in WCW in just the next few months? Did you guys have a first shot at them or what did that look like? I think we prioritized, you have to prioritize your list of who you want. And so that's kind of what we did in sort of Rob Van Dam as right there at the top. If he wasn't at the top, the most desirable signee from a ECW, you know, we got the deadliest, and they did a phenomenal job. Hall of Fame career. So everybody just can't make the cut. Yeah. Yeah, everybody can't be, there's not room on the team for everybody. They just flash back to whatever what happened the few nights before with Jerry Lawler and ECW arena. And for those that are big ECW fans, you definitely remember that night. When the lights went out and when they came back on, Jerry the king wall was standing in the middle of the ring and the hometown faithful in Philadelphia, let him have it such a big fun moment, should I say for that crowd in that fan base? Also environment for the king who certainly performed magnificently. Didn't bother him a bit. So JR, we're going to mention two phrases that I know you love to hear, and it's rumor and innuendo. And the rumor in you window was that the plan for this match originally was for flash funk to go over. But Van Damme threatened to take his shit and go home so they switched it to RVD going over. Do you remember hearing anything about this? No, on the right decision was made. You want to get somebody over. You don't beat on their first time in. Lawyers joined us on commentary. That always adds a little something. Yeah, we can listen a little bit of that. So it'll be interesting to hear.

"To hear you this weekend at full gear. And excited to hear your show there. Yeah. Hell of a card. But don't even booked a great card for that show and I think we've done a nice job of building to it. The TVs that were in the Indianapolis television, sure. All the shows this week rampage on Friday should be hot as hell. I thought our show I thought it might have been excellent. And then you got that paper be that we've been building. Seem like we've been building that pay per view for weeks and weeks and weeks. I'm very anxious to get to it. And I think Tony's book the hell of a card. It's up down the car. There's matches that could theoretically steal the show. And knowing how competitive our locker room is, it's just like, well, nothing's going to follow that. And here comes the next match and, well, I got to rephrase that. I didn't think if I would follow it, but it seems like this one is. And then what you have is at the end of the night, here's a great challenge. If people got to remember, how good he had omega and hangman page B, closing the show. After the fans have seen great effort and an amazing athletic athleticism, a great wrestling card. How do they follow all of that? And take us home where the main event match that people won't soon forget. It's almost sounds impossible to accomplish when no one omega and page I don't think so. They both are different points, their career, they both are different places. A win for page is huge risk career. It creates another superstar super superstar in 80 AEW, omega's have made man. So, you know, it's an inner city. It's going to be an interesting Saturday night. So if you can't be in many apples, if you are, bring a coat because I damn sure. And enjoy it on pay per view. It's just going to be I can't see this show not having not being excellent. And I know I'm biased. I work with the company and they pay me. That must have been honest with you. Looking at the psychological matchups, not only from a theatrical standpoint, but from a professional standpoint and a personal standpoint, I think that this is the show's Dan Marin can't miss. How good can it be? It's what I'm wondering. How good can it be? I can't wait to get after it. Well, when you think about Daniel Bryan Danielson, Miro, you think about CM Punk and he's going to be taking on Eddie Kingston. You think FTR is on the card. There's a lot a lot there. A lot of good stuff, man. Yes, sir. A lot of good stuff. So Tony's book to elbow card, I'm sure you're all Tony schiavone and excalibur and myself and try to do it justice. So it's all good, man. I'm going to have a great week and then we'll take it from there. There you go. That's all you can do. JR, that's all you can do is just take it one day at a time, buddy. And know that you're in a lot of people's thoughts and prayers and we're glad to hear that you're in the right head space. And you talked about a lot of stars, a lot of AEW folks and we're here to talk today about another one, a key piece in AW and Connie just talked about this man from his 1999 and 2000 a few weeks ago, and we're going to talk about his 2001 this week and that is, Chris Jericho, man 20 years ago, and he still getting it done. And by the way, this week, JR, his birthday, 51 on Tuesday. This past Tuesday is this drop zone Thursday. Tuesday the 9th, he turned 51 years old. Chrissy stays in good shape. He's got the middle game down. That's one of the great advantages that he has over his peers is that Jericho understands entering psychology. And he'll have to use all of it because he's got a cast of thousands in his match at full gear. And you always ask to see how the newbies are going to do. I'm anxious to see how Junior dos Santos working punch relates to everybody else. That's when the adrenaline starts bumping. And he got a guy that didn't have any experience doing that. You know, sometimes just tough to hold back, right? When that energy's going. Yeah. And he's always been known as one of the great strikers USC history. Great knockout power. So who knows what's going to happen, but Chrissy's work will be cut out because I believe that this has been his brainchild. So I know here's what I know. I know he's got a vision for it. I never ask him what he's going to do. Because I haven't as much of a fan as anybody else. I like for him or the mastery evolve and let me call the evolution of what I'm seeing. I think it's better for the fans. You know, I'm not an actor, you know, I like to say I look pretty good storyteller. But I'm a play by play guy. And so I don't look at myself as an actor. I saw something Michael Cole said, and he's right. You know, he's an actor in a scripted sport in WWE, and he's, you know, he's there to add little sizzle. But I'm in that world, but I'm not. He and I have a place at the fork in the road where we take a different turn. It doesn't mean my route is more fortuitous than his. It simply means that I don't share his philosophy, which is cool. I like Michael. He's a good friend and is a good guy and I saw he was losing his hearing. Yes. I can understand that, but really attach his home too. So anyway, it's a Jericho's a special guide. This year is 2020 as 2001. It was a pretty sensational for him. Yeah, and as a storyteller, we're going to try to tell the story you and I of 2001. It was a big year for him between the alliance and how he rounded out the end of the year. That'll be our go home as the undisputed champion. But let's try to work together and we're going to tell the story of Jericho together from 2001 and it all started with him working with Perry Saturn at a house show in Anaheim, California in January of that year before heading to New York and Madison Square Garden, where he took part in a celebrity hockey game in a tribute to his father. JR talk about his relationship with his father, Ted, and how big of a deal do you.

"Beginnings it feels like jericho despite his best effort. He's just having quite the bad run a lucky or even though he is having an intercontinental championship. Run it's not exactly the way he would've ever envisioned it and it would be easy to think that you know some self doubt is creeping into jericho or for any of us would for anybody else. Course that's why i say. Jericho erode out the story did and he didn't give up so so the goal is obvious. We're trying to jerko away from china but considering what's about to happen well. The radicals make their way to the wwf. Crispin wa eighty guerrero dean malingco and perry saturn all the men that worked very very well and became close friends with jericho in wcw and even before jumped ship now. Some would say that. This overshadows chris but others would say it gave him the ability to work with some familiar talent. Maybe game some confidence back in his work. Do you remember crisp ing excited. That has piles are making the move here. Yeah and primarily. Because it gave chris the opportunity to have some potentially outstanding matches. Were guys that he was comfortable with respected. And that could wrestle. And he'd worried about getting physical with bete-noire eddie here saturday dean of those guys and You know dane still to this very days We have coaches not agents or producers. Aws edina oftentimes has called upon to be the coach for jericho's matches so they still have great chemistry and get along with but No i don't think he was upset at all. And i don't disagree wholeheartedly. With the fact that you know well that derailed is push s talking out their ass. They'd read read about pushed so much and heard about it. So much on average shows dot com. They they really know and it didn't affect his purplish. 'cause you're only going to be as good as your last match and jericho never any bad matches in my opinion except that Debacle with china that inter-gender stuff and other thing too about the intercontinental title. The intercontinental title had very little cash. At that time it wasn't the great. Tito santana pat patterson. All of you know all these other guys healthy I see title where the distinction. It didn't have the cachet. Didn't have the clout. So i don't know he was. I don't know how great it was symbolic. i guess. Message anything but The intercontinental totta wasn't prisa wasn't a made man maker right. Hey look we're all adults and some.

"Would you blame them. You know i would you blame him so It was a great night there in chicago. I remember i remember the crowd. We weren't sure of the crowd was gonna react badly. They reacted big time. They're ready for chris jericho. Well this. big countdown finally pays off in the middle of the rocks. Promo boy. You wanna talk about getting thrown into the deep end. You're gonna go one on one on the microphone with iraq. This is a this is a real life test. Here is it not. Yeah yeah absolutely and also how do you. What is your demeanor. You look like you belong. you look like you're in the same Level as joint. Johnson and chris had that confidence that i can be a main event guy. I can work with rock. I can work with all stuck worked. Anybody and he could and he did so I thought it was phenomenal. Way to fantastic. Rita introduce him and he stood toe-to-toe with rock in that little promo battle and a lot of guys is very intimidated with a full house. There in chicago. there it wasn't rosa. What is it. Call now. A allstate arena. Yeah yeah yeah. So a in their man and he proved to get into deep water slim. Let's mention to that Well i guess we just wanna context when we saw when we last saw jericho in. Wcw where he's frustrated with creative. beating perry saturn in a loser. Where's address match and now he's interrupting the rocks promo. That's a pretty big difference. Yeah lexcen middle seat. Coach are getting that al seat first class or a private jet. That's better even showed you belong. That's what we wanted so we needed to see. Do you belong in the same age with the rock. And he looked like he'd been there forever. Unfortunately there is no real follow through or follow up on that moment with the rock He gets into a quick view against road. Dogg xbox ken shamrock and really the biggest thing of note is you guys give him a quote unquote heater mr hughes. I'm curious from your perspective where it is courtesy us come from in this jericho package. Well the fan of kurdish use a not for a long time. I used to kidney about. He was defensive tackle for a kansas state. Wildcats and of course being a maslakh you a You know kind of proud of my team sooners. You're proud of your team. That's crimson tide sir I used to call in the mile. Cats m. i. l. d. cats and he laughed a good good natured. Guy you know. He almost got fired after wrestlemania nine because he fell asleep in the air and coach and chief. Jay strongbow cities high. All of that guy. We got i got to tell caesar caesar course events we gotta get rid of this guy he. He derived to that conclusion by sitting cross the way with his wife and me. You'd five at connecticut. And there was curtis on the other side knows and all until we found out he had a he had a sleep disorder narcolepsy. Whatever they called up arden. Wrong but curtis curtis battle through it. And i like curtis. I don't know that. Chris needed a heater. That was this kind of trend at that time. You know diesel mccain shawn michaels heater. This guy's got a heater. I don't know where that came. Oh the heater ricky. Major league So i i didn't think we needed it but look if it had clicked better bigger than i win. Jericho's getting special treatment getting handled creatively. Well so The curtis is a good guy. Curtis getting ready to write a book which should be very entertaining economic. He wants me or to it. But it's interesting you know. He was corrected he was a black man and an orlando white decision. Makers and so. I got time for kurdish shoes by just didn't think that was the cashing for him. He should have been a big monster heel on his own. In my opinion it doesn't last long. He's going to come. And go in this jerko package pretty quickly and then howard finkel winds up being lackey and frankly this isn't the top level guy run. He probably envisioned when he's interrupting the rock after this big millennium man countdown. In the rumor and innuendo at the time was he wasn't being given rave reviews of his work and allegedly one of his biggest critics behind the scenes was triple h. And we've heard a lot over the years that even if you come in to the world wrestling federation which was time of course if you didn't work. The wwf style candidate matter in terms of well you know. This guy was over in japan or he was over in mexico or he was over in. W w well they didn't exist. Conrad the story was there was a different style and you had to learn the wwf style. Do you agree with that. Or was that just nonsense. I think he needed to learn the ww f. e. whatever you wanna throw in their field the atmosphere of the society of wwe. Yet i understand. There are certain things you could. You should do. Should not do there. and i think i just i don't know i a i don't know triple h didn't like him because he's shorter and his hand and some somebody's are gonna get They're gonna get you know. Figure out what he's what he's all about. And all that stuff. But i our off that i thought for guys smartest. Paul eveque is i saw. He's getting better issues. Which is great you know. He's so smart insi- calling the name of the cerebral this on a on an entrance. This love you. That's good shit. That was one of my favorite things he said to me years. "Meltzer made about the crowd. Hurting it i've heard pittsburgh can be tough crowd. Would you agree with that assessment. Yeah the shrew challenging you gotta really entertain them and they. They need to invest in something personal. Aunts angle often match right. They didn't have the emotional investment in that in that tag that opening match as as They should and also conrad. If we a on further review you'll find out that Some of these cats had they just started a team. They just got together. This mash say was thrown together. But it was just have a huge buildup and the tag titles got. I don't remember the last time the tag titles and that company many thing and they just wasn't hot wouldn't topical. It wasn't what they wanted to see that night. We knew what they wanted to see that night and it was at the very end the car the beginning when next up we've got perry saturn painting raven and five minutes and seven seconds. Meltzer would say both guys worked hard but the crowd was totally dead. He would say ravens in the best shape. He's been in years fast but maybe too fast paced although it didn't matter because the crowd wasn't going to care anyway. Side had his left odd busted open before winning with a spinning fishermen suplex. You know we've talked a little bit about the radicals when they first come over and they Have a wwf debut over. i'm russillo show something wrestle. And he felt like perry saturn was going to be the breakout star of the group. We know that was not the case. Why do you think perry didn't become a bigger star with the company. I don't maybe that same thing. We talked about chronic perrier's good hand. He's tough it. Looked great nice guy back in the locker room area. You know had a kind of weird sense of humor which is cool. I'll do some very. But i i don't know the fact that he just didn't connect with the audience and quite frankly they may have wanted to see the other radicals more. They want to see him. I thought the breakout star. The radicals was going to be been walk guerrero and but she had di malingco. Nobody's better fundamentally sound so forth dean malingco. I ever saw Why survivor was a coach. And w he really helps skies with laying out the matches and so forth. But i just you know. Maybe we didn't give it time. I don't think that mafi got over. It was kind of silly seriously and saturn to me was always a serious restaurant. Dangerous unpredictable but all of a sudden. He's in love with a mop. And i think that Didn't do him any favors made in love with the mob. Probably the mini favorite. I'll just honest. this is funny. what about raven. I've always wanted to say that on the podcast. What about raven can't tell us well. You know scott leave us a very talented guy and highly intelligent but sometimes he was his own worst enemy yup and so we get back to that same old topic. People are tired of mere and talk about me. talk about is reliability. There was something there that dense was not sold on country. Remember the back story of raven. He was johnny polo. He was a broadcaster. You know he. He had a lot of starts stops so forth. I think that had an effect on visits confidence in raven doing well and you know he had some had some bad bad rap times on some things and sometimes he was too outspoken. What you can be. But he was another guy that was solid hand. And you know kind of guy won't your because he can work with anybody you weren't maybe facing work he'll and he'll make the boast out of any massive he's end because he's that smart but i just i don't know maybe he'd been overexposed and had too many false starts. I don't know what the people at that point in time really didn't care. Let's keep it moving here and talk about the next match It's just crazy that we have pay per view match about mopti christian and edge finally three-star match year. According to meltzer the intercontinental championship is on the line christian. Gets the win in eleven minutes and fifty. Three seconds meltzer would say this match in the previous match. Were very important because they were wrestlers. Who needed a good performance and even more a good crowd response to move them up a level in the ravens saturn case just really to get in the game and for these guys to be taken as serious singles players in both cases. The work was there but the crowd reaction hurt. Everyone's chances edge was the next guy to get his odd busted open. His left from an apparent erin points and the owl starting to swell as the mascot going christian got to chairs to tease the concerto but stopped him and then got the chairs and tease doing it. But the referee pulled the chairs and stopped him while this was going on christian. Gotta chair engage the logo for the pin and the title change. It's pretty crazy that this was twenty years ago. And even now we have edge and christian main eventing pay per views edge invented wrestlemainia. Pretty good match here though between longtime friends. The i liked agra chemistry. They knew what the other is gonna do. They cooperated the got along. They were not selfish. All the things you need to have in place to have a great presentation and those guys knew each other knew each other better than anybody else knew them. So i was happy was happy to see both in singles matches because again you're route to wealth and longevity in this era of wwe and pro wrestling in general was not normally the tag so. That's kind of where we were there. But i was very happy. I always thought edge was going to be a breakout star. 'cause connected with the audience and jay was always the clear number two on that team of christian so i i was glad they've both got their opportunity to grow on their own. But i always thought. Chris had an excuse me that edge had a little bit of a leg up in that scenario but that does not mean by any stretch of the imagination. That christian was very good hands. You know the magic christian had kenny omega. In w was grandstanding yes outstanding. He still a hell worker. He's always been held worker but he just didn't quite have the that. That connect charisma that adam copeland aka edge hat as very special and it's not a knock on christian whatsoever just addo had a specialness about him and I'm just really happy that he's back in the game. At a schedule he can manage and so forth and take care of his health and so forth so on. So i was looking forward to this match. And i wasn't disappointed with i thought it was real solid match and both those guys count themselves very well. Hey all i'm so excited to tell you. I slept nine and a half hours last night. It's early in the morning when we're recording right now. But.

So we see We got the hardy Music hitting here and Christian has thrown down the gauntlet. And here he comes. Matt hardy leader by saad limping along. But he's got that european strap around his waist and all these years later these guys are still wrestling but now on another channel on the a w show you still in touch with christian every once in a while we touch base He's such a good guy we were. We were best friends. Edge christian myself ryan. We really were best friends. We spent a lot of time together and that was so valuable. I'll never forget what he did for me. What he did for the business. Christians one the most underrated professional wrestlers of all time. This guy should actually already been hall of fame. That's how good he was. And i don't know i mean i think someday he will be. I think he's been under appreciated now. I totally agree. You know you talk to anybody who's ever actually wrestled with him and they tell you that he was next level in terms of putting them together making a good match great being in the right spot and all the right times you know all the little intangibles that we hear go into being a great wrestler one by one you hear ghazi wrestled him say that he was the guy he could've very well been the best professional wrestler of all time. That's how good he wants. He was creative putting the matches together. His timing was impeccable. He was one of the absolute best. I've ever worked with. It's almost like he's regarded as more like a modern day. Bobby eaton where everyone who worked with him said oh he was the absolute best and he had a great amount of success but for whatever reason a lot of fans just didn't perceive him as being like the wrestlemainia main event of course Bring up bobby. Because we sadly just lost him not too long ago and they're going leave the rest to believe on the twenty four th of this month. Did you ever have a chance to meet bobby at any sort of conventions or anything like that. Yeah i met bobby at a couple of events Signings and also. I believe a couple of events he came to. The show's really nice guy. I had a lot of respect for him. Because i knew what he did for the bills. It's it's pretty remarkable to think about the the legacy that he left as being one of the greatest tag team wrestler of all time and. I don't know that. I've even considered that with christian until just now but i think when people think about christian i think about him as being one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time and. That's not to say bobby didn't have tv title matches and what have you and should actually became world champ On more than one occasion not just to wwe but and ta as well. But i still think he's probably one of those guys where if you were in the ring you know. And that's what his peers said about. Bobby eaton and i think they say the same about christian. I think you could compare both of them. And they were both were very successful in their active to. How would you compare. And contrast say a matt hardy and jeff already. We talked a little bit about christian. And we've spent a lot of time on the show in the more recent time episodes talking about edge but what about matt hardy and jeff hardy. You had an opportunity to be in there. we'll both they're both extremely counted. Both have different styles though Jeff hardy was more of a reckless kind of wrestler You know kind of a daredevil and matahari was more of a a technician so they had different styles. Don't get me wrong matt. Hardy could be some high diving stuff but for the most part he was pretty technical but they both were really good at what they did. They were just very different. I think the jeff might had a little bit more success than that. I think it was just because of his persona in his. I don't care attitude. That really loved the bottom for matt matt. Hardy was really talented as well. We've got a graphic here recapping last night. Let's take a listen patrick. Recent memory suited for years but call bertha kurt angle with a wwf. "That's the one thing that we all kept saying repeatedly. Nobody said anything About you know. Nobody said anything about all he. He can be a world heavyweight champion or nobody was thinking that everybody back then was joss. They want it to be entertained. They wanted to watch a really good entertaining match when it came to. Wcw if you tuned in and you knew that wait a minute. Women eighty guerrero's wrestling tonight. That's going to be fire ramos. Stereos wrestling tonight. Paul as five dima lincoln's wrestling tonight do that's going to be far chris. Benoit's wrestling tonight. yeah all shit jugend underlines wrestling all yep conan conan is going to be renton fuck. Yeah fucking like data. We became accustomed to when you were watching. Wcw you know. So when he came to wwe. Let's not beat around the bush when he came to. Wwe redeem linko. Chris ben wa perry saturn and they were you know before radicals. I remember the initial pop seeing all four dole's guys when they just hopped the fucking wall barrier all that shit on raw. I remember when all that shit had went down and it was like whoa was. Wcw guys whoa a know. You had that buzz. You had that excitement. Dan after we got to see them on a regular basis we're going yet is radical thing. I don't really know why you guys are talented as fuck. So yeah if anybody can like make this work you guys can buy want to see you as a solo act and for a lot of us back then. The guys that we looked at for solo acts in. Wwe a lot of us. Were very very high on day malingco in this order. D malingco. Chris benoi eighty guerrero perry saturn. That's how a lot of us looked at the order in which we felt those guys from most successful to least successful. That's how we looked at it back then and then we saw would ultimately happen with with eddie guerrero you know. There is a trajectory in his career. Where it kinda seem in he touched upon this you know in some interviews definitely The one r f Shoot interview that he did. We rob feinstein check that out. That's a nice little jim for you guys. While we're talking eddie. Guerrero you know. He got to a point in his career where the drugs was fucking with him. And if you're eighty guerrero fan up to that point you just couldn't help would go man. You got so much potential here in the wwe again. This slow period. Where when i talk about who could be most successful and we're looking at the four radicals. We weren't looking at those guys. Go in future world heavyweight. We weren't we weren't saying that we were saying as wrestling fans was okay. These guys are over here now. Out of these four guys who can be the most successful. That's how majority of us were looking at it. Now if some of you guys want to twist that and be like okay world champion. That's when you but the way majority of us looked at it. We just were like okay. You're over here now. Okay offer you guys ok. Who can be law. They tried to do their best with perry saturn mop in..

"Beat ramirez. What that the wnba has called a regular champion. So you got your main wba champion. And then you've got the regular champion at greater chambers is just basically a glorified. Us tidal compared to headway belt. If you wanna get arrested in terms you got your is basically a guaranteed number one contender but it gives you about it's stupid. It's the way boston is different. Promoters and and the sanctioning bodies with reason why the sport is going to shit now. Because you've got so many different belts and each belt is tied to a promoter in a sanctioning body so i would love for ten to fight jock undisputed but who knows what he wants to do. What his pass is going to be. You know you got your lopez at one thirty five. You got devon haney who kinda duck ducking at one thirty five reason. Go back down. Who's gonna stay at one forty. You know there's options but again out the man okay. I'll heyman is promoter. Pvc boston those guys. Like fight and dues on the other side so they like to fight gaza street. That's another conversation. We'll have another day but good fight. Appreciate the tickets omar. Next time. they'll be having me in a high. I like steak. You know So respectable at comfort in or nineteen so not the knights stupid but anyways great fi. Elena hotlanta was amazing. Now i'm gonna wait on my zina's to come to my room you sent me. You know the gift package was cooling baldwin james. I got the All the his lers the love. Got the opinion. Eminem's but i need my joe. I need them this celebrity. You know i'm out. And you know how we liked in things here on the ball in booths podcast with omar's epilogue and now for the ending out. Jake thank you again. No more for having me and the question you asked me. How stupid do the washington capitals. Feel for getting rid of barry trotz and let them walk out that door. The answer a simple. I think it is so bad that it is top. Five biggest blunder in dc sports history. More they basically got rid of the best coach in the nhl. A guy that goes team two team and ups the level he got us to a stanley cup final. We won a stanley cup final. And you get rid of them. Are you kidding me. And now look what he's doing with the new york islanders. They look to be favorites in the east. As i'm speaking right now. They are beating the boston. Bruins in game five two two omar. So there's my answer. It was stupid intently. Owns this is a bum for his coaching decisions. As an owner he worries about underpaying. Too much with coaches. I think he has a strategy where he doesn't believe coaches matter to be honest because obviously letting go a very trotz was dumb. We'll get to that later too. But like a like a little little. Chris benoit's or a Polls right down can't gonna body like a curse been. Why eddie guerrero. A demon lingo. A perry saturn win when he smaller racier juniors. We smaller smaller Smaller stature wrestlers but that are scrappy. But he's cut that out. Cut that out by himself. I don't know what that was but it was. It was going in my room. He lays a crucial cruise level assegais. Little more was it was out. Say it was a hassle. We'll go over with a side of would eight on. I eighty to nothing. And i had an opportunity to score. We had runners on second and third and shortstop. Their team is so good. The shortstop new like you were behind runner and he knew the in the bay path last seconds at our butter van and so immediately in there. It's pretty smart is baseball rules. Even it will be glove over a second base and we had a slide into the base beating glove of war. I remember that. Why do i remember that my remember that. Oh shit the bush league coach abject it back to like ace one game and we'd be we'd beat them on some church like eighty sunken to not bad. Yes sir. i didn't even know like eight and get you. Let's go nice. Congratulations buddies august eighth. He's the big money winner all the time. Since how much is that abuts dollar get hit on yesterday. Heading was eating fast food chain dollars for four hundred. Spn he's like on espn. Now you've got to see paragon growth. That's that seamless. Could the baby were quietly per one. You gotta shed. So i'm gonna watch place for one. Yeah probably a good idea was. Was there a death girl in that one. Yes wants to move movie starts out okay. How you never been to come out.
