"Austin Cindric a rookie for Roger Penske's racing team hover around the front of the pack for most of the day in the Daytona five hundred and when it came time to make the move for the win he executed it perfectly leading four counts for twenty one last Cindrich said he knew he had a car to win but I also knew that anything can happen and usually does in the Daytona five hundred I'll be honest I know the car to do it but there's so many so many things that have to play out correctly Bubba Wallace crossed the finish line in second after thinking he was in the right spot to overtake centric it just didn't happen for say Turner screen also I'd start looking up there in victory lane just close man is close I really thought we had it this was the second Daytona five hundred runner up finish of Wallace's career Jerry Jordan Daytona beach Florida

What Can Brad Keselowski Bring From Team Penske to Roush Fenway?

"Among the many changes for next season in nascar brand kozlowski moving from penske racing or team. Penske over to rows fenway and he talks about some of the other changes going on in the sport from perspective of today still change and it changes a reset as to whether that changes successful and reducing the cost of the sport. You know all these other competitive elements. I don't know by do no. It's a reset. And i know resets represent at this point in time that this has been a woman. Say how shosh screwy the media. But i i've tried to be respectful to other parties would be team pants and beyond to not be talking to too many people and expose things. We've been working on. So i imagine there'd be a lot of conversations now that today has happened brand kazlauskas have champion. He has won many races in the nascar cup series. What can he bring over that. He's learned team. Penske over to rash fenway in his new deal for twenty twenty two tremendous. I mean i think it just mostly a culture of excellence which is a very vague vague description in term. What it means a lot to me. It means not selling anything less than your best. And every facet of the operations of the company and whether that's competitive or or not You know there's a team of people and weighed all the polaroid the same direction

"I'm here each and every week to help you get your fantasy team squared away before we do that. We're gonna take a look back at atlanta and let's see who dominated the stages in the final fantasy games. The first stage goes to liquidity stage to top shelf racing and top shelf racing onto win the day with two hundred and sixty three points. Good job there. Now are fantasy league continues to grow. We've got two hundred and fifty five people's in there now and if you want to join in on the fantasy fun it is a perfect time to get in there and learned the game before the playoffs. Start as a new player. You can start a lineup with nothing but alia's drivers and potentially leave it alone for the remainder of the regular season making adjustment to your bonus picks and dominate new players. Have an advantage over all of us that have been playing all season long with your higher scores. You might just get a shoutout right here on the final weekly. As i mentioned earlier in the season we're going to have a trophy for the overall league winner. And i've a trophy coming for the playoff winner. So that means everybody's in the running for the playoffs trophy. Those points all start fresh at the beginning of the playoffs. So you new players. You have five weeks to learn the game and get in there and potentially win a playoff trophy okay. That being said let's take a look at some potential picks for your lineups for sunday's race at new hampshire motor speedway the first driver we're going to look at today. Is martin tricks junior the gibbs toyotas are all looking strong and have found a little something in the closing races. The regular season last week's run at atlanta showed. That tricks may have been laying in the weeds. He passed more cars than just about anyone in the field three times seriously. Though his average finish over the last five races is four point. Two with four of those finishes top five and he only missed out in stage points in one of those ten stages. He's looking for his first win at loudon so it could be this weekend. I would consider martin tricks in my lineup and another driver who is in hot. Pursuit of a victory is another gibbs guy the eleven car denny hamlin his back to back second place finishes at loudon and since his victory. Five races go denny's picked up stage points in eight out of ten of those stages the last race run here in the fall last year denny lead ninety two laps so the team has really good data on which to build on for sunday's race. Now's the season continues. It's getting harder and harder to build a good lineup because you're running out of driver picks and it's important to clean on drivers who are running decent and can get you good amount of points. Now's the time to focus on those cut off drivers with kurt. Busch win last week. The pressure on those drivers grew immensely matt. Di benedetto's one of those drivers that team's gonna pull out all the stops and try to have the best possible finish on sunday maddie's pretty good at loudon. He has to top six finishes three races run. And this is with two different organizations. I personally don't think i'd wanna see mattie d in my mirror on sunday. He could be playing pretty aggressively to make something happen. So maybe be the twenty one car of matt. Di benedetto for your lineup. The races are winding down and our leader one for the money continues to lead the fantasy leagues. So let's get out there and try to get some points in take him off that number one position which is going to be a long stretch with the point lead that he s all right folks so thanks again for hanging around listening to the final fantasy segment of the show. I am ready dragon. We will talk to you again next week. All right there. You have your picks for this weekend's race at new hampshire motor speedway. Thank you so much. Rowdy dragon checkered flag flying on this show. This has been the final weekly. Catch us next week. Right here when we will recap all the flat magic new hampshire and preview nothingness. We've got two weeks off wolf other stuff. Yeah toby you and i will chat. Next week was that we will have a real beach bird or a beach. Bird s seagull. Yes.

"Addressed this saying it's just flat out not true it's fake news so we'll see Obviously when you started testing a new car For crash testing like that. The whole point of it is to see where the weaknesses are in the car. So i wouldn't get too worried about this early on still if we're hearing these kind of Rumblings as we get towards the end of the playoffs. I'd be pretty worried about it. But they've got time to get things tweaked get things perfect. And that's the whole point of these tests at this point so i'm not worried about it at all. I mean you shouldn't be. I mean you're not gonna one right brian. I'm not a driver. So i don't i don't care. What do i care. So out of these rumors that they get bouncing around read it and alleys their places sometimes. There is some truth to them at the same time. A that's what the whole process is about is finding these weaknesses in the car. So if they're finding weaknesses in the car that's actually kind of a good thing because they can improve upon them Where if they got through some of the crash testing being weaknesses they might not touch anything or even addressing thing Which would indicate that. The car is strong and sturdy but it also indicates that maybe they just miss something and because things were going so well. They didn't think about questioning. Certain things and trying to strengthen them up. So i think of you're not gonna see a car on the track from nascar unless it's safe enough to not kill a driver in the nascar cup series. It's been since two thousand one with a dale earnhardt senior since we've seen a nascar cup series driver fatally injured in a crash so i don't think during the bins of wanting to have that happen and i don't think we're going to have that happen so i think we'll be okay. Well i mean. Don't get me started on on the red at wannabes. Let's see them. Do six hundred eighty one shows in a row kerry just throwing down for everybody. kyle busch. he's ready to take on. Take on reddit looking liquor you go. I don't need to take. they don't like us anyway. That's true that's true. read it what. What do i give a damn ever see you. This fired up there. A bunch of wanna be has been. Nobody's over there at read it. So yeah wow what can squarely at you read it people. Oh my goodness. I hope this actually makes it to read it now. I hope this like starts to really infiltrate that that sub reddit. Vine whatever new hampshire motor speedway going down this weekend. I i hear. I hear it lack spanking. It seems like out of all things that does banking is not one of them. And it's less hilly so to speak to the than other tracks. Yeah so you're saying there's no like you know changes in elevation now. There's no it's void of any slope right so nothing just flat okay catalogs Right it does look like a paper clip which you know i guess if your office depot or officemax i don't understand why you're not sponsoring the race it kind of makes sense or even staples it's like a paper clip staple kind of thing but it's like open. Yeah why because they called it the magic mile. Oh yeah okay. That's kind of lame. That's the reason for the magic miles because it's not actually a mile link carry. It's one point five eight mile which back in the day you know we might see it this time around but it was always linden self to a weird fuel mileage race every time they came here and that was what was so magical about that. Lyle right okay. Sure you go with that. Now we did say it was flat but there is some banking two two seven degrees in the turns and one degree on the front stretch and backstretch front stretch. All is this the track. This is the track. This is one of the equidistant. Fifteen hundred feet back and front. You went from being all down on this magic mile being so excited about it with equidistant alert. While you got me back. You brought me back in. Jerry always always always this racist three hundred and one laps by the way not three hundred but three hundred and one equates to three hundred eighteen point four five eight. Miles equates okay Stages seventy five laps each and the remaining one hundred fifty one bom so three hundred one laps three we in case you didn't get it. We haven't again three three hundred one laps. Three hundred eighteen point. Four five eight miles. Did you happen to know. Did you have an brag. His lansky was the winner of this race last year. I would not have guessed that. If i if i sat there and thought about it i wouldn't have guessed it. Yeah i would have thought like hamlin or or harvard at new hampshire for the reason. Yeah and it's weird that they only have one race now but yeah. That's our while ago. Check out all the action. Sunday three pm. Eastern on nbc. Would you look at look at this. Because they don't have qualifying anymore. We actually know the top ten starting lineup. Well that's good. I like being able to give extra information on our show rights. We have it now. I prefer qualifying. But i guess we'll do it. This way I don't get this. I he just got a new contract. He's just been on fire all season. But he's dropped tenth in the starting lineup. For kyle larson. That does seem bizarre. But it's all predicated on what is finish. Was this past week. Kerry yeah whatevs christopher bell nine tyler radic. Who in all honesty. That's his spot. Not only his car number but he's pretty much always eighth. I've noticed you know somewhere between six to eight. Th every week i mean just consistently ryan blaney denny hamlin. Alex bowman our the next three on the list. And then we've got kurt busch chase elliott martin church junior and second and your pole-sitter by way of the nascar performance metric. You're gonna love this. Kerry kyle busch. Yeah i'm sorry that makes no sense. Why not kurt question. I think the difference here will be points position which is factored in and then also the fastest lap in the race would probably be the only other. Listen up nascar the way you set the field is stupid. it's dumb way gotta go to qualifying. This is absolute insanity. Man you have been fired over an almost everything in this show. There is nobody. You're not willing to fight absolutely. Why don't don't cross toby christie. No no no on your side man go for it. You do what you do. We'll get davie and here faster than you realize. Mr vacation boy. Oh my goodness never again. No more -cations.

"All right. Let's get to the winner. Kurt busch he needed a win to make the playoffs. And this was. The statement shaken up the entire playoff system for his first win this season. Let's hear from kurt. Busch came into this weekend respecting the racetrack. More than than i ever have. Atlanta motor speedway is one of the top tracks for all drivers. Based off of how we're able to slide the car through the corners and choose which lane we want to race in and you know like a reese ability factor atlanta motor speedway was always at the top of the list and i came into respect her surface to ask her for the right amount of grip today and i could feel it could feel like she was helping me both through. Come out on top. I really wanted to win this last race on the surface. That was pushing hard and a really happy for our team to win this last race. Here charleville facelift. A you know it's gonna have a lot of new feel and a lotta new action next year but this was the last a little bit of the old school and i'm glad to an older older guy won the race today. All right so there you have it. Kurt busch essentially locking himself into the playoffs with the win. So four spots remain in the top sixteen in the playoffs. So get an interesting getting close. Yeah and when you factor in denny hamlin locked him because the regular season champion currently if he hangs onto that now it's been very tight between he and cal arts and he's in no matter. What as long as he's the regular season if that's the case you've only got three spots left now for people to win their way in so we've got more than three races to go here. You're in a situation where we could possibly be seeing a winner not make the playoffs. That'd be weird wouldn't it. That would not be weird for me. Because i called it. I said michael mcdowell does not make the playoffs but what if he does. What about somebody below him. That wins in doesn't get in because of that but because he's still pretty high up in the standings he's like seventeenth or so Dato anyone that's even keeping their car somewhat. Clean has a chance to win so i don't know man. There's a long way to go here and a lot of things that can happen I wouldn't We've seen some weird stuff happened this year as it is i would not You know feel very comfortable going into this. So i wasn't one of the top few guys with wins because some of these guys on gonna bad run work their way down to the hordes the bottom of the points with winds and somebody else wins and knocks them out. It can happen. Anything can happen. Yeah and that's what's cool. There's five races left. Just a handful of spots available. And it's going to be good over these next few and i like the fact that daytona is the The last race to to get into the playoffs. Because it's just going to be so crazy chaotic well and you give guys a position. A track that lends itself or they can make something happen. So you don't have a track where you show up. And if you're out to launch your lap off the pace by the end of stage want so daytona. That's not going to happen no matter how far off your car is. You're still going to be in that front pack with chance Up until the final A stage of the race as long as you don't get caught in the big ones so You're going to have a position. Everybody that's running for the chase spot. The playoff spots there in that race will probably at some point. Be in the playoffs. If the race were stop on that lap so it's gonna be exciting. It's gonna be interesting and it's gonna be fun up next for the cup series as new hampshire motor speedway your last chance before a half a month off. Yeah a two week break for nascar. NASCAR Atlanta Cup Recap, Blaney Wins

"Nascar cup series racing from atlanta motor speedway over the weekend. Let's run things down ten to one. Kevin harvick horrible car to start the race but battled back from laughs down to finish tenth. Then he got martin tricks. Junior william byron chris butcher with solid run their number. Seven austin dillon kyle busch denny hamlin number four alex bowman three and kyle larson won both of the stages dominated this race leading two hundred sixty eight laps but lost the lead with seven laps. To go and just couldn't seal the deal. It's his tenth career second-place on a one point five mile track. That is a bummer. For him to victory lane. Ryan blaming shocked. The world after that. Domination from kyle larson nabbing. His fifth career cup series win led twenty five laps on the day and the all important final lap and he gave away his checkered flag to a young fan wearing a blaney shirt. That will be a fan for life for sure. It was so awesome to see. It's the six different winner here in two thousand twenty one in six different races man. That's a that's a of parody. "Excitement is in the air for sure. Can you feel it. The two thousand twenty one nascar season is coming and we're now seeing drivers on their social media pages. Doing photo shoots with their cars. Their new fire suit onesies paint scheme changes and growing list of teams and drivers throwing their hat into the ring to attempt. This year's daytona five hundred austin syndrich is one such driver looking to not only make his first daytona five hundred but also his first career cup series star. Wow of course drive a team. Penske prepared ford with the number thirty three on the door. And austin said quote at doesn't really even need to be said that the daytona five hundred is the biggest crown jewel race in nascar and one of the biggest races in the world so to have a shot to be in the show while driving. Roger penske is a big opportunity gap by the way. Syndrich is the twenty twenty xfinity series champion and he scored six wins last year. Another such driver is jamie mcmurray coming out of retirement from full-time cup. Series racing back in two thousand eighteen. He'll return to drive the number. Seventy seven spire motorsports entry four. The daytona five hundred. The car will be prepared by chip ganassi racing. So he's going to be familiar with the feel of the machine as well as the setup. Mcmurray is a seven time cup series win including being the two thousand ten daytona five hundred champion and this will be his five hundred. Eighty four career start.

Xfinity Series Champion Austin Cindric

"On the final with us. Today is austin syndrich. Welcome back to the program of great. Thanks for having me all right. So twenty twenty. Xfinity series champion That's got a nice ring to it right. Yeah without a doubt. I mean you work in an entire year. Obviously this year's been been crazy and trustful for a lot of people and a lot of different ways and Obviously rise to the occasion on on on the right weekend is is is ideal but The the work put in all season. It definitely makes you gratifying. So i take us through this closing laps. What was going through your head. Obviously we had. We pulled away in the lead with older tires there and I thought that was the hard part and turned out You know caution with three to go Having to come in and put on tires and that we are at a pretty big deficit I think that was the right call to make but putting yourself by maple on on on the offense and Having having to make two laps and make it happen when a championship in the with with with our competition definitely wasn't gonna be easy and putting a three wide off at turn four to win the championship Was was pretty cool. I thought i thought we all wreck for for a moment there and Definitely definitely dramatic finish and Glad glad we had to earn it but Definitely go out. It will all work out. What What did you do to celebrate. So yeah i've been trying to do the maximum obviously The different year As far as getting people together and enjoying things with that'd be with my guys do people shop or or or just my friends and family so That that part's obviously been a bit more of a challenge but Saturday night after the race. I can promise you. The the twenty two team had a great time and Major everybody got back to their rooms. Nice and safe but Otherwise it was it was. It was a fun night. looking forward to To enjoy during the season and coming back even harder and twenty twenty one. What are some of the things. That are a champion has to do during the week. Afterwards is it. Is it more than you expected. i think it's a lot of things that i wanna do myself It's it's. It's not things that that other people will put me up to as far as Like i said. I've had to be very creative in the last couple of days. Far as trying to figure out. Like i said what the maximum is that i can do to to to enjoy championship with with my team But also making sure i don't even turn you don't wanna championship every day and It's really difficult to do this in. Obviously we had the opportunity. Try new again next year but Trying to make sure that that. I don't miss anything almost anyone and I enjoy the moment obviously You're going to be kind of like the the face of the sport or the the face of the xfinity series for next year. What does it mean to be a champion and carry that flag. I think anyone who's watch watch series for the last couple of years. Watch me grow develop at the driver. Obviously i have my one one season in the truck series beforehand but that was it and As far as my career. So i've come a long way in a short amount of time and and i think Anyone who's watched those races that seeing that Has it's hopefully been able to create that. And as as seen this team really rally around me and in my development and obviously it's been a lot of fun to be able to do that and go on win races. And and then put ourselves in contention all year so it obviously Gives us more to look forward to. Obviously there's going to be great competition next year. I excited excited to see the full line. Up of drivers that We get to compete against and Looking forward to doing doing the most. We can't to make it back to phoenix and try and contempt for another championship now. Obviously every year. There's a big awards banquet at the end of the year this year. It's going to be a little different than can be more of a an awards show. I'm sure you're still looking forward to it because you're going to be honored. Their yeah i just want to get back all hours. Upset at other people's banquets watching other people talk. I want to do the talk. Our team to get the talking but It's it's obviously a challenge but No it's hopefully. Everyone can tune into that. I i got got wrapped up with with my obligations for that Just just yesterday actually so Looking forward to seeing that. It's also fun to to to to share that with with the other. Competitors are in shown creative while we were in nascar Production dairy and talk and talk to him about his race and and obviously Obviously chase elliott pretty pretty cool for the sport there and Obviously very well deserved for him and his family's well. We're on with xfinity series champion for twenty twenty austin syndrich and every year penske. Does this big olympic style kind of stuff with all their drivers and and and and crew members and stuff like that. This year was dodgeball How'd you do was it fun. It looked awesome while. I'm gonna brag on myself here for a minute because In p when. I was in middle. School and high school dodgeball was my thing. Okay i i don't know why i i obviously love it but For whatever reason. I just have a knack for it so When when they decided they were going to dodge ball with all the penske drivers i was. I was pretty keen so the game. They go to penske social channels. They haven't shared up on there. But i was the last man standing for a very long time Got a lot of people. I got blaney out by far the most athletic driver on our team pretty. I got him out early in the game But yeah it's great fun it. It's it's so cool. Because we're such a diverse group of drivers. As far as the different race series and and you know different nationalities and obviously we really different personalities. So that's always a really fun amick and I hope everyone enjoys that kind of stuff. I'm sure it's a big A team bonding kind of thing as well. Hey later today you've got a alive. Qna online. Are you are you nervous with some of the fans might ask you know. I don't think so Obviously we've got like said the life you and eight six six thirty on penske social channels on facebook and Looking forward to seeing the turnout we get for that. Because it'll be my crew chief. Brian wilson talking about Pretty much our season that race. Everything that's come down to it. Obviously brian i ever really greatly relationship and Look look forward to take jabs. Adam if i can't tonight what are some of the things are gonna be doing in the off season Both to relax and maybe even stay sharp for next year. Yeah i'm i'm still working on that. But i made a long list on the flight home from phoenix as far as things don't want to do and i i started to realize i'm probably not going to get everything done. I'd say top of that list is continue to work on my project car. I've got an eighteen ninety three volvo station wagon that i've been doing a Coyote swap was basically putting the the drive train. The the motor from a ford mustang. So go to five hundred horsepower. Engine in a in a ninety station wagon is has been no small feat. I've been working on this thing for for two years. Now doing all the work on myself so it's been really fun to to learn that Learn that side of things i. I think it's made me a better driver. And the obviously it's a it's a great pastime. Okay that's one of the most unique rebuilds. I think i've ever heard what's the goal for that. Car the goal is to be stupid or noxious. It's gonna race track. It's just it's just supposed to be loud stupid and fast. The car actually ways Significantly less than most most rijkaard's. It's actually smaller than you think being a station wagon. It's only twenty pounds. So a couple of hundred pounds lighter than most modern cars so nothing's gonna rip so Hopefully i get tight and have some fun with it so looking looking to make a pretty big debt absolutely now over the next year and a half or so. You've got a lot of things plan. Obviously going xfinity series racing next year. Defending that The championship and you're also going to have some cup series races Have they decided that your schedule yet. No it's definitely ongoing. Obviously gotta make sure things work logistically and and try and figure out the the right thing whether it be my development or having partners on the car but I'm excited for for that opportunity to to learn at the high level But i'd say if there is a race that i wanna do They're they're going cup racing at road. America on july fourth weekend is going to be amazing so I'm hoping that i can get to do that. One that one's definitely at the top of my list but Overall just just happy to happy to have that kind of an opportunity happy have the groundwork laid out for for for for my development over the next couple of years that's very challenging thing to to navigate in the sport especially the drivers so Looking forward to taking advantage of that opportunity and make the most of your drivers don't have the opportunity of knowing. Hey after next year. I'm going cup racing. They don't usually know that You still got to keep the eye on the ball for the community series. But i'm sure you're still excited about twenty twenty two. Yeah without a doubt to have that opportunity. Go race for the wood brothers in in in twenty twenty two. Obviously that's a that's a family. That has a huge legacy in the sport and The opportunity to to build on that legacy is something i definitely. Don't take lightly. I i love the history of the sport but also the the wood brothers eddie. Len modern john. Those guys who have been big supporters of mine Since since i've really come into nascar so excited to get to work with them here in the next couple the next couple of months after after twenty twenty one and Really really start the next chapter of my career with those guys so Very grateful for that as an opportunity. But i really really focused on defending title. It'd be be great taylor to walk out the as two time champions but a lot of work that needs to be done in a lot of hard competition to the face before then all right for sure last question any plans for the rolex twenty four working on that man that's that's always grind. I mean that is that is a given so Definitely definitely doesn't hurt to in the off season In style like this but Yeah i i wanna i wanna do the rolex again This past year was actually the first year in in three years that i hadn't done it so actually spotted the race for one of the penske cars which being outside in the middle of the night for twenty four hours is enough motivation for for trying to find drive the next year. I don't know what is so I'm i'm excited to try and try and navigate that I want to win that race. Really bad that's that's that's where i've been really passionate about for a long time a lot of miles in a lot of hours in so Still still on the lookout for for the right combination and Hopefully hopefully things down before the holidays. All right. he is the twenty twenty extended series champion. Austin syndrich thanks as always for being on the final

It's Pumpkin Spice Season!

"Let's. Let's talk a little bit about spices both the spices that go in the pumpkin spice mix and some forged by society. Right we should. We should also mention and I guess the one that I would like to start out with cinnamon, which comes from the inner bark of plants in the genus cinema them. and it is an evergreen tree in the Laurel family and there are several species in growing in various areas and. People might want to if they're into spices, they might want to get you know the Vietnamese version and the Indonesian version or the version you know the from Malabar cinnamon and and just taste them and see it's a spice that has long long been used to not only ceremonially but and in culinary But also, for fragrance and all kinds of symbolic applications as well. I don't think everybody realizes that there are so many different kinds of cinnamon and that they come from different trees and that the flavors are very different. The strengthened the spiciness, the natural sweetness, all of these vary from cinnamon to cinnamon. And I'm very fortunate in Santa Fe. We have a wonderful store called the savory spice shop I took a class there and learned a lot about the different kinds of sentiments. So I actually have a couple of different kinds at home i. think my favorite is the Ceylon Cinnamon. That's the one that I really liked the best although it is much more brittle. So if you're making something with the whole sticks, you have to be a little careful that the pieces don't all break apart but but I love the flavor of that one. Do you have a favorite cinnamon I don't? I tend to. In, cooking I tend to use whichever when I grabbed I. I'm. I will admit but I have ordered several varieties from penske spices which company create. Yeah. Company that I like and So it's fun fun to compare them and to just think about them you know both at their place in history their place in the history of the expiration of the world because you know a good deal of. World, exploration was driven by the desire to bring spices you know back to. Europe? And don't forget. Cinnamon is the inner bark of a tree. That is pretty darn cool. If you ask me who was the first person yeah? Thinking that out it's not the outer bark. So it's not that they just took a piece of the outer bark and chewed on it and thought this is delicious. It's the inner bark and who'd who did that? If I had to guess I would say somebody cut down the tree and smell the smell and. What is that and started sniffing around the tree and figured out where that came from but that's that's you know that's a guess. Well, it sounds like a good guest to me. So we talked a little bit about all spice in our true or false section and I want to. Continue that theme and talk about a spice that I forage for that sometimes called Appalachian. All spice that is the dried fruit of the spice Bush Plant Linda Benzoate, and I've mentioned that. Plant on this. podcast before it is literally one of my favorite forage spices and when I don't have it in my pantry and makes me very nervous because I like to use it in suite applications in savory applications it's absolutely delicious with some natural. Sweetness. It's got the warmth of all those you know Pumpkin pie spices, and honestly it's my go-to spice I rarely use nutmeg all spice and cinnamon anymore because to me the spice. Bush. Kerry. Has It all and it's a wonderful flavor and a very, pretty ornamental plant for yard as well. Well, that's what I was just going to ask you this is not you? Know as as many of these spices from the tropics This is not a tropical plant. This is something that people could plant in their own yard. Yes it's a it's hardy believed to zone four. So that's a pretty tough plant. It's native to the United. States east of the Mississippi everywhere from New Hampshire to Florida there are some isolated populations of it in Texas. But in general, it prefers it's not as happy an alkaline clay soils and that's what we tend to have out here in the West but it's a diocese plan which means separate male and female plants. So if you want to be able to harvest the fruit, you need at least one of each, you can also use the stems and leaves to make a t and they have a slightly different flavor. But for my money, it's the fruit that really is where the love is. Do you picked this fruit when Ans-? Ripe. But not dried and then dry it out. Yeah or is it the seed? Is it the seed or the fruit I'm glad you asked that C. L. because it's both the fruit is is small and read about the size of barbary fruit and I pick it when it's red although if it started to dry on the shrub that's okay and now is the perfect time to go looking for it depending on where you are. But if you're in the northeast the mid Atlantic states now when you should go out and look You can use them fresh and they're they're soft I usually dry them, and then keep them hole in the freezer and grind them as needed. But if you take a fresh fruit and cut it in half, you will see that the orange pulp, the redskin surrounds a soft blackish grey seed. Now, some people say that the seed tastes like pepper and the black pepper and the fruit tastes like all spice and they separate them I kind of think they just do that because. The seed is black and peppers black I don't use it all together and really it. So you're eating both the fruit and the seeds you don't separate the nudist dry and grind it. Very cool. Very cool. Well, you know I don't have any growing in my yard right now but you've you've made me want some. So I'm going to have to check that out for planting next spring.

'The Greatest Spectacle In Racing': Indy 500 To Run Without Spectators

"33 teams 500 miles and a century's worth of history. It's the Indianapolis 500. But this year there won't be any fans in the stands to see what's been called the greatest spectacle in racing, Samantha Horton from Indiana, Public broadcasting reports. This is what the 500 sounds like on a normal race day war of hundreds of thousands of fans overtaking sounds of the core engines in the final few laps, But this year's race will sound a little more like this along to 2.5 mile track. The race has always taken place in May, but pandemic response upon two back to August 23rd. Roger Penske, who bought the track earlier this year, was still hoping to have tens of thousands of race fans in attendance. But that hope faded in June, when race officials announced half attendance then 25% and then no. One. It was a decision. Race officials tried to prevent Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Bowles says a comprehensive health plan was even developed to try to have fans attend the race. So really, from the moment in March, we knew that we needed to start thinking about what could the Indianapolis 500 look like with a bunch of restrictions and in order to make sure that we took care of everyone's health and safety, But even with these precautions, Spectators were ruled out.

"Penske from Arizona sports ninety eight seven events popped in again and so before we get to the actual player okay because it's a pretty good player it is do you agree with Kliff Kingsbury will not wearing socks and sitting at his five million dollar house just looking awesome well the drafters going on while everybody else looked like they were hunkered in a basement back east and it looked like they were at like a motel six that's kind of his five isn't it I'm just trying to chill in Scottsdale making picks in and designing place with our like he looks like if he wasn't a football coach you like a mortgage brokers right on the site we don't know he's that guy by the way the real winner last night yeah B. C. did you see the numbers no biggest draft what viewing in history doubled the seconds close the show to them and they peeked out last night with about nineteen million viewers in the in the final hour but overall fifteen point six million viewers how easily that a bunch of the week we are dying for Donnelly sports but for something that is new new yeah yeah we've watched so many replays over the last five or six weeks that I mean how many replace can you really watch is not that many great sports moments in history to what I know because all the old old ball games are on whether it's football or my wife walked in the other day and I'm I'm watching like the Packers from like nineteen eighty seven take on those three dogs and she's like who are the what are you doing I'm like I got nothing else they were replaying the nineteen eighty nine and F. L. draft the other day and like five minutes and I was like what what is going on why am I watching this other than just to see everybody's hair in nineteen eighty the numbers were so big they were up almost forty percent over last year while evil maybe they should hold it inside of next year who knows we'll do it from the Penske is joining us so we think it is traffic cardinals when it eight everybody says they got a start they got well what do they call him a unicorn that sounds that sounds good to me yeah who is he Isaiah Simmons that would Steve Kime called in this morning the eraser so move maybe we'll see if that nicknames sticks because they're gonna ask him to do so many different things and if you look at the cardinals last year they were competitive they only won five games if they were competitive in price I don't know five or six others yeah yeah in their issue was defense specifically stopping the tight end Isaiah Simmons is built to stop the tight end and he should impact the defense on a few different levels so they were in that weird spot and it's very enviable spot we can take the best available player and he's the guy that you need to that doesn't always how rarely does that happen especially at the first or second pick everybody's always looking if you don't and we got the quarterback last year that's the other thing that helps because if you didn't have a quarterback well why not build around him with an offense of linemen to make sure that he doesn't get creamed that's not as fun it's not it isn't now I think they will go in the third round can you get a good offense of line in the third round that could see a starter probably not so I don't know the cardinals have been able to do that let us and that's probably if you look at football you you build it's you the skill players you can go out and get but offense of line that is and get into the pass rusher those two things are usually draft every once in awhile you get a you know a gem but the reality is is usually those first few that are in that first round that's what you're looking for it's tough to get those guys through trades or free agency except Chandler Jones they traded a failed offense of linemen essentially to get him from New England so it's a great deal yeah yeah Hey it's so is Steve Kahn the GMC safe now because he was seriously looking at getting fired and obviously last year with the number one pick this year a terrific pick out of eight also he got to deandre Hopkins is going to be unbelievable yeah as a wide receiver here and he got rid of that awful contract for David Johnson who quit on the team that's the trade I think that saved his job because even at the end of last season most cardinals fans wanted him gone and then all of a sudden Houston comes along in their like here we'll take that contract for guy you're about to cut it will give you our best player the worst we've got six guys just like him you know we need seven another guy we're probably not gonna be able to use past this year so that alone just by simply saying yes to the strange team in the NFL probably it's save this job for at least another year A. B. C. D. or after the cardinals yesterday I mean with just that pic I think you have to go as much as any of us know these guys have played actual games I would say that's what I wanted all right with the Penske Arizona sports ninety seven FM thanks manager double L. with us X. Hey would you like to be a Guinea pig for the greater good of all mankind would you actually take a corona this virus nightmare vaccine that has not what being vetted tested out on your is a person that's getting tested we're gonna talk about that next we've always been Arizona's news station and now thanks to you for the valley's appreciation station my name is Steve and I wanted to thank my friend's name Kimberly Stevenson my wife with the need of spring water she is currently on a homeopathic treatment for cancer and so Kimberly had a couple of pieces that she gave to us but then she took it a step further as she posted an app called next door within one week we had two hundred bottles of water and eighteen gallons of spring water delivered to our house correct kindness actually resulted in us having water now.

"And welcome to another episode of Pit Lane Parlay. My name is host Mike Joke just and Net are joining me as we have plenty to discuss from the last week and a half or so this week again brought to you by grip Matt Dot Com. The world's first flexible non slip tool met that makes for a great gift for the person who loves working on their car. Use Promo Code. E LP TV for ten percent of your order on a somber note before we get going here. Just want to wish. Ryan Newman quick and speedy recovery from his Daytona five hundred injuries as of recording on Tuesday. Evening he was awake and talking to doctors in his family. So that's amazing to see but Young I hope. Hope he recovers quick. He's seems like a standout guy in any driver who supports any sort of animal. Charities is is up on on my list of drivers to support so opie recovered from from whatever the injuries are it was definitely scared to see. Yeah and having watched racing for a long time that was one of the worst crashes I've ever seen Alive I think given the impact the wall and then sliding on his roof and then getting hit again is pretty much kind of worst case scenario in the NASCAR world so the fact that he was you know awake and talking family has stay Tuesday. I think was phenomenal news. Not Think I echo everybody's sentiments that. We were all really relieved when we got the news last night. Monday night that he was in serious but stable condition. Because you know we all Sumer so just wishing Ryan the best in a quick recovery. Yeah I mean obviously after seeing that and seeing the difficulty they had getting him out of the car and everything else it. It was extremely Good news to get that he basically in the long run. It's probably GONNA be mostly okay. Obviously we don't know injuries at this point in time but I mean it's it's kind of a miracle that he was able to be extracted from that car in one piece so definitely wishing him well and hopefully he recovers quickly and and hopefully he can rise again someday says so with that we will move on starting with B. Circle of the Americas open tests from last week. Just a quick recap of the top. Five would be willpower. Alex Rossi Scott McLaughlin Joseph New Garden and Colton Herta's so guys any surprises disappointments. I Dunno where you want to start with that but I will turn it over to you yet. Mclaughlin noon as well as hated was. I don't know if it's necessarily surprising but it was. It was really good to see I the I guess the only disappointment I have honestly is in the weather so they didn't get more time because that would win would have been nice to see But Yeah I'm academy just made me that much more. Prompt for this season for me and my big surprise was Alex Paolo P. Nine with you know what I've been predicting decimated coin team. That's really impressive. I mean he's been in the car two or three times in to go out there and it the ninth best lap in a a really stacked field. I think that's a really good reflection on him so far and he's been saying the right things. You did the test Texas Awhile and was very psyched about that. So so far. He's he's passing the face value tests on the other side in black and white world. I know we're talking about testing but third ask Connor Daily I. I wonder if they were trying some setups or do something outside the box. I hope that's the case because not the greatest start from from him but you know obviously again just to test not panic. Button territory by any means but I'm curious to sue his paces like going forward so just on my surprise so I had to quit can scramble and find another answer here. I'm GonNa go with McLaren Oliver. S Q you. Seven Outta award tens you know not just a rookie was seven but or guys in the top ten and I think at some point in testing there were even higher than that for a while. My disappointment is definitely the weather. I missed all of Media Day on Monday and Tuesday. There was no track running and then I had to run back to the airport Tuesday night so I didn't really get to see anything in person when I was down there. So that was definitely my biggest disappointment of the open test though we will keep going down the list here your favorite current favourite livery that you saw the test. I don't know if I should go first since I wrote an article on our website. Check it out. Shameless plug read that but Mayan if you didn't read it was Felix Rosenquist. I think that car that's absolutely stunning Slash medicine slash beautiful slash terrifying slash elegant. I think it Kinda Caps everything I would want delivery and I love the black think. It's a home run and getting away with Alex Hailu because that pink is fire to me. I just love it very much matches my jacket that I'm wearing right now that you guys can't see but I mean it just it just really stands out especially in the afternoon sunshine. I'M GONNA go with Alex Ross's alternation scheme that we will see at a races. Ashir and NAPA has the other night I forget what what which which is which the pink and Grey Combo looked really really slick. I know some people said it looked similar to hello or Lou however you say his name. I know we've probably all gotten a wrong at some point this off season. But yeah that's that's definitely my pick for their so lastly We will recap who we predicted which struggle and who would do well Matt had arenas vk doing well and Ren- ass- is a team so not so good there and Matt said Arrow would struggle definitely. Matt dropped the ball big time on this prediction. Let's see here. I had Zach each doing well seventeenth now sued had Sato struggling and Tacoma was twenty. Second KINDA got outright. And lastly just had had oh doing well so I think just automatically wins because otherwise none of our pigs are really good in this one. She had ed carpenter struggling so far off. There I adjust winced just Bar Wins this round. Who's just detest Doesn't matter I still want Esquerre to test for us to. Hopefully you're testing your Luck this year because if you're going to bring rain to every race or flight delay or I mean I should probably cancel my flight now. It just please don't please don't because I'm traveling to all them with him. So just please please. Please don't bring flights. May Mike Sorry Jinx that than I might as well. Just cancel my plans. I'm nervous now. All right so we will move in to our next topic. We're GonNa talk just a little bit about team penske so. Tk and Paul. Tracy were discussing during the broadcast. Who IS SCOTT MCLAUGHLIN? Gunnery place if they bring him on full time next year. Tk Tang said it's GONNA be no. He thinks it's going to be power. What you guys saying. I think that if Roger PENSKE REPLACES WILLPOWER. Something's not right. I think it would have to be because he had a disastrous twenty twenty. Which I just don't see happening again. I've Sung praises for power a lot of times on the show specifically. He's probably the most well rounded drivers in the field when it comes to always an road courses and he's done a lot for team penske since he joined the twenty nine so yeah. I think it'd be foolish to replace our obviously new gardens kind of the face of that team. And he's what twenty seven twenty eight so he's still got a decade if he wants it As long as he continues to produce which defending champion so it has to be by default then Simon Patch now and. I don't think it's anything wrong. I just think he's not producing the results consistently as power and new garden. Obviously want any last year. But you know. I think we'll see what he does this year. I guess I feel like this. One is incredibly tough to predict because year after winning the indy. Five hundred or year and a half. After Juan Montoya was out of a ride. Castro Neves was out of the ride after a solid lasts season full-time season ending indycar and passionate on the five hundred last year. So it's almost like no matter what you pick you feel wrong picking it but I I do agree with Matt. I think it's going to be passionate. Oh I think willpower has just been so consistent especially the last six seven years in Term Engineering Division in the championship of all. I don't know how you can replace. Power is only thirty five thirty six or seven somewhere around there. I think he's got a lot of life. Left in in him in a lot of consistency left him. "It. Oh Lord all right Not to say that Justin Answer. I'll say that. Get the best thing going forward and I guess not super short term. I think the execution of this new engine package that were against a couple of years I think as long as that goes smoothly and the engine. Sound really cool I think that'd be really good for carving far in a big kind of piece of their puzzle for the next several years so hopefully that goes really well and hopefully you know penske backs the vision of what was announced not too long ago and then part two is what is the worst thing that could happen with this new deal being announced the fact we're going to have people for the next six months Asking about bump day or guaranteed entries complaining about unfair advantages. That probably won't exist in other silliness like that. I'm going to say in. I don't actually I see this happening. But worst case scenario radio is that way to many traditions of the indy. Five hundred change at one time might think that. There's there's a lot of people especially in the Greater Indianapolis area who have a lot invested in the five hundred And it would be a shame. Just see all of that tradition away very quickly. I mean mine was just the fastest thirty three if they do the guaranteed entries for fulltime teams. I think that's definitely step backwards. So that was just my biggest thing very fair points there. We'll wrap it up with with the one final fan question before we end our special midweek episode here This is an anonymous fan question. Given given Roger Penske's age do you think that the long term success of Indycar is in his best interest. Or do you think that Roger Penske will be putting winging majority of his focus in the short term. I personally think that he's still going to be focused long-term I he has so many other businesses in ventures in an things going on that he never thinks about. What's going to happen in a week? He's always been hearing about what's going to happen in a year. He's obviously used to running businesses. I'm sure that People are going to be worried about his age in what's going to happen. You know if something God forbid were to happen in. I'm sure that it's all spelled out. And he has everything planned out in. I have faith that no matter how old he is today that he's got the best. Yeah I just don't think he's the type of guy who is only caring about short term success so you know knock knock on wood. Hopefully he's got mail. Let's be ambitious. Let's say he's got thirty years of life left. I mean the guy's done at all is entirely fans you know just Repeatedly succeeded in everything. So why not just age wise one hundred ten years old. Why not just full send it I? He's that type of Guy I just think that he thinks about long term success for everything and he She's just going to have I in my opinion. I think he's just GonNa have the best interests in mind of Indycar in the fans and it doesn't matter you know Hamas life he's got left he's going to do investor this form my opinion I like that you have in living to one hundred twelve years old because my first statement of my Thought was going to to be the man. Is You know. Eighty two years old and he still spends all twenty four hours on the box at the rolex. Twenty four so he's going to be around kicking for awhile he's just he's just he's just a man that being glad. I'm said you said before I did so thank you. Thirty is very ambitious ambitious. I hope I can make it another thirty years. You're not that old Eliza. I just had to say because you were teasing earlier her I think but I do agree with you. I think Roger Penske is way too smart of a businessman and a motor sports leader. Peter to let be long-term successive indycar a fail in any way just because of him getting up therein age. I'm sure there are discussions with The soon to be announced to all into months board of directors in Jay and mark. Everybody nobody else in management that you have a a long term plan this you know maybe five to ten year plan type thing that you will be in place no matter what so rogers just too smart of a man who ignore the long term gain whether it be you know five ten fifteen years down the line. He's going to be thinking of those sort of things so with the does anybody have any last lasting thoughts before we wrap up our special episode. I got two quick. Yes no questions for you guys. First one is the twenty twenty four hour race at the Indianapolis Motor speedway GonNa Happen now. Now yes and you think formulas coming back now yes we.

"The same thing. I just I just wanted you to know that. You're smarter than my sorry remake. Notice anything I'm just GONNA ignore here. Just call smarter than me. Well Yeah I mean that's not saying too much that's right anyway. Yeah it's it's very ironic. If you if you look back on everything that now Tony George went up to Roger Penske and said hey actually do you want to buy this and I'll I'll open it. That will move. Won't yeah okay so I'm GonNa take the weird bits and pieces here that I just thought about over the last ask. I don't know what twelve hours now Roughly ever take Things that popped into my mind because I'm actually from here you're in. I lived in speedway at one point So there's a lot of impacts that could it could happen to the town of speedway Pinski to quote him in the press conference this morning said to see the growth in speedway in what's going on just makes me feel better about the opportunities that we have here so I would say to the citizens in the people who live there and work there that we're excited to be a partner. I really like that. I hope that that's the case I did not ever go it But I know that since and roughly sometime in the sixties speedway has been paying extra taxes to keep the property taxes to the people that live there down It's Kinda there. Thank you for allowing us to have these events type of situation. I really hope that penske keeps set up because I think if he doesn't it would be a real shame for the people who live there. The taxes have been going APP recently. But I I still think that the speedway takes a good chunk of them Also you know just the the businesses in homes that are around the speedway and things. I really hope that This has a positive impact in in. I think that as far as the event I shouldn't say the event the events go on. I think that they will definitely improve. So I think that the businesses will see a boost Hopefully he can find a way to to do good things in community for the people who live there also. I also hope that Roger Penske improves the tenderloins at the track Ah One of the things. That Roger mentioned was Roger mentioned today was he was gonNA walk every inch of the speedway facilities over the next. You know however many months and if you're If you're doing that at eighty two you're you're definitely looking for things to improve on. There are things that could be better. There may be some extra video screens for example So yeah I would just go to the turn to mound and just give it a big hug and start crying. This is so great happiest moment of my life obser- privilege also Roger Penske. He owns a INDYCAR team and now he owns. Indianapolis Motor. speedway is get better than that. I'm not sure I mean what a life All right. We've got several fan questions that rolled in today. We really appreciate on a lot of questions we received today. So we'll get to as many as we can here first moments from Patriot member Stephen King who is an author and and he wants to know if we forsee any substantial changes to indycar once team penske takes over and in more of thinking like in the short term. Do we see anything between maybe now and the Annapolis five hundred we see any major announcements indycar indycar related the silly season driver news related or anything like that but any major series announcements between now and then the five hundred substantial. No I I think that between here and there He's going to be dipping chosen to the pool instead jumping in. He's set himself that he liked to make a top ten list of things that he's looking to change in the short term. But you know that could include small things So so I think that the first changes we see are going to be smaller Until he kinda gets feel of everything that's going on with all of his now I guess properties. I don't know how you phrased the entities have everyone that I think the biggest change range is. He's going to make an announcement that James if gets drive for whoever he wants for for the rest of his life no in all seriousness. Business Nine don't see any big changes in the next six months. He's GonNa Talk Tomorrow in the management team. Come up with his list of things that he wants. It's a change or wants to keep the same in take things from there. So that's you know that's not going to happen in the next couple of weeks. At least yeah I was about to interrupt interrupt and say you know. This wasn't a joke real question. This was a with the Hinchcliffe thing. I'm like wait is it. That's a joke weapons here. Yeah and I I. I'll be bold that we will see a major announcement saying now may and I think it will be in regards to possibly a race track being being added for next year. That's one of the only things that I could see. That'd be a substantial nece that is worth talking about because I don't think a third engine manufacturer maybe announced in. May that might be too soon. So yeah I don't know we'll see it's definitely an interesting thought process process in interesting to see like you know. We've referenced overtimes what that top ten list whom how long it's GonNa take the infamous those changes inches. He wants right so our next one comes from at Lone Wolf G. A. M. A.. Where do we see Jay Penske Kinski fitting into the picture here? I'm really struggling with this. been struggling with this one all day and I I know people go. He wasn't good at you. Know Owning What was the dragon racing? But the guy's got a a very very good Business Background for for many years. Now so I don't know maybe he steps up and he's Arlene is on the board of directors but he's got some sort of chief operating officer type IGWIG role and it allows him time to you. Learn from Roger and everybody else in to potentially grow into either the next CEO or at least co owner with the penske family. Yeah I don't know the family tree while enough to Kinda know the succession or you know who wants what the kind of thing or anything like that. I'm still secretly hoping that he leaves everything to Tim Syndrich I think the ten Syndrich would actually do pretty good job out his biggest fan. I think his vision in one. That's really good so Far Today penske I honestly not his biggest fan either Don't really want him anywhere near the car. Don't really liken that much. I think he's actually done pretty well for himself. HIMSELF DRAGON RACING IN FORMULA E. Think he's built himself a pretty decent operation over there are still issues. indy-car owner but with some of the events happening conjoining thirteen Missing that much so Yeah I could be without Jay. penske's Indycar I guess I.

"LP Ten get ten percent off so oh just In case anybody missed the news Yesterday Roger Penske and Penske Corporation bought indycar I M S S. B. I mess productions I guess technically it's purchased by Penske Entertainment Corporation We don't know what the fears I guess. Since they're a a private company we might not ever know and The purchase should be finalized at some point in the next sixty days so sometime early in two thousand twenty so just a quick recap here as we dive into it be first. Discussions happened actually in the pits at Laguna Seca between Tony George. The End Roger Penske so with that being said guys. How surprised? Are we the Tony. George came to Roger Penske at Laguna said. Hey Hey do you wanna buy a home in and company. I mean the timing was kind of awkward since he was had a lot on his plate that weekend anyways. I'm sure he was a little bit overwhelmed but I mean I guess it's one of those no time like the present type deals Let's face it. I'm shocked by everything about this. A tiny I guess just fits into that mean they you know that would laguna was just over like a month and a half ago and it's basically a done deal now It's very quick. It's very interesting to me. I can't believe I. I think the timing is a little weird to bring it up good steak but when we saw the news at I I was perplexed. I didn't really know what to make of it. I was a little worried to start out. Because you know these kind of things can I have a bad impact. If it doesn't go correctly but honestly you know is we're going to talk about throughout the show. I think so far. Everything sounds good And Tony George won't be in the picture anymore for the most part. So that's great in my opinion so Yeah crazy day a historic day. I mean it was cool to be encompassed in history. All this is GONNA be talking about for a long time up there with the merger. The split things like that. So a crazy crazy day yet while Definitely they text message to wake up to in the in the morning warning. I guess you know six six weeks is you know. It's it's a pretty long length of time but to you. Know to buy a a multi million or hundred hundreds of millions of dollars of company I it that's that's that's pretty quick turnaround so Good on them. They worked it out that quick and it was a Yeoman an easy process which are are. We surprised that out of anything in INDYCAR. Almost everything gets leaked in some capacity and nobody had any idea. This was coming today so Where where does this rate on your not really that surprising to God is the world that level of surprise? I think the fact that it was no rumors hers whatsoever anywhere Not Quite the end of the world but it was you know really just out of left. Field breaking news a has seismic effects. So I'm really impressed that it wasn't leaked. I think that definitely helps penske the any car company. Whoever helps them control the narrative a little whereas if if this got leaked a week ago I think the rumor Mills Woulda gone crazy Enforced penske or whoever to release a statement Blah Blah. They wouldn't have been able to control the narrative like you know announcing it and then having a press conference two hours later like they. Today's so yeah. I think it really caught just about everybody off guard in get on them for not leaking. It's anybody I feel like what they talked about. In the press conference where they talked about the people that were involved in the actual discussions the very very very select few people and I feel like they did that for a reason and I think they did a fabulous job on doing this in yes. I'm surprised prized. It did not get leaked. I think they did a really good job in and frankly like you said I think it helps them. Henna keep control of everything and not let it get spun in a light that maybe isn't true So I feel like they did the best. They could have done with This I will call it or shattering. H- announcement because I did not see this coming in the ramifications occasions For you know not only I am as in IAMs productions in Indycar but also the town speedway the tenement Indianapolis Just anybody that has any kind of involvement at all with racing It's it's huge. Yeah the only thing I'll add to that is I'm glad the press conference. Was You know just a few hours after I broke so it. It quieted down the While for a little bit the craziness on social media that the world was going to end and Roger Penske was is going to urge indycar with NASCAR. I saw some crazy stuff on there this morning. But we will continue on bats I don't even know if I have the words for that The I mean like like we said earlier. There's there's so many facets to this that we're GonNa Kinda touch on here in one of the things that was mentioned in the press conference today. was that penske reiterated. The fact that when he acquires businesses she likes to stick with the assets that the business has already the and when when we say acids we usually mean the human personnels that they have obviously one of the things that a lot of people were worried about immediately with people like like Jay Frye Mark Miles Doug Bulls a lot of the great people within Indycar and you know who do such a good job for the sport and he said that he likes to keep the assets in place in working with what he got so far as that goes. Do you guys see Jay Frye Mark Miles keeping their jobs. CBS after today's announcement yes I don't think they're going anywhere. Fact Mark Miles was in the press conference today. You speak pretty highly to that. That the fact that Roger Penske kept mentioning Mark Miles j FRY ill multiple times throughout the press conference. I don't I don't think they're going anywhere. I think they're a hugely important to the long term success of Indycar so Roger is smart to keep them on board. I agree I definitely see them. Staying even talked about I some of the changes that possibly could happen at the five hundred talked about. Are you know he wanted to to get with them and talk about things so I I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon nor do I have fingers crossed. I think they have done such a good job of building a really good team. And you know we're GonNa talk about things like the schedule. Third engine manufacturer do things like that. But it seems like Mark Miles j fries. Stephen Stark's like they all have a clear image of what they're trying to do. And so I feel hopefully like that. That won't be interrupted unless penske thinks that something can be done in a separate way. which kind of leads to the next question is that you know with things like the third? Oem and other or stuff. Do you still see Jay. Frye company Mark Miles in company you know working autonomously as in like you know. They're just gonNA keep doing what they're doing or do you. You think they're gonNA have to either accept more input from Roger Penske when it comes to those maybe upper level decisions. I think it's GONNA BE I. I don't know I think there are GonNa be situations where the two of them that are gonna be continuing to work things out the way they have. I Bet I also think that he is going to have suggestions and He is going to want to look at different actions Obviously hey this is now his baby and he's going to want to do well be profitable and move forward. So I think that I think there's there's GonNa be a good mix of situations where he's GonNa definitely have input or he's going to listen to what they are. Impotent is in and go with with amny has they haven't done such a good job here getting into car back to where I think. The one thing we won't see is any sort of your joe major conflict between Roger and J slash mark. I think just hit the nail on the head there. They'll be things that Jay in Marquel known just fine they'll be things You know to quote are roughly quote Roger Today. You know it's time you know I'm GonNa take some risk of some things in Break the glass so you know who knows what the future will hold their but You know listen Rogers go getter if you want something to happen. He's GonNa find a way to make it happen happen but I don't think he'll do that necessarily at the expense of his working relationship with Jay and mark. I'm GonNa make an old person reference references since I turned twenty six next week but I bet Roger Penske has one hell of a Rolodex You think about the amount of people he's connected with over the years especially the auto industry. What are you shaking your head that you're older than me? Actually I was headed. It's not that much of an old person reference Afri- I guess but most people don't know what a Rolodexes is that fair that's fair okay Yeah I mean he's going to have somebody connections. I think that's one of the things. When J fry was hired that you know Jay Frye had so many connections based on his work in the industry in the past? But you know you take that and times that by being in the business nineteen fifty five million. That's going to be so many connections so I think you know definitely doesn't hurt the help if they just come to say. AM troubles finding a third engine manufacturing helped Rogers pulls out his phone and calls for people transfigure something out so yeah. I definitely think that she can definitely offer input and help them by still feel like day. FRY Mark Miles will continue to kind of do their their own thing per se to help the for so on that now will kind of transition into the immediate ramifications for the five hundred. We won't get into too many details details. We don't know too many details. Obviously everybody's wanting to know about the traditions and everything else and that's GonNa come later down. The Road Rhode Penske. Did make it clear that he wants to work on the fan experience there at the track he mentioned possibly more fan. Dan Zones Things like that to make it more fan friendly. I guess maybe I don't know the whole weekend just amp empathy even more than it already is which is kind of hard to do and then he also somebody as about What about guaranteed wanted entries because he was in favor of that last year said that he wants to work with Mark Miles in Jay. Frye in a Just get things You know clear amongst the three of them in just work together to keep either. Keep the tradition going or see what would make more business sense for everybody involved. So do you guys saying that guaranteed Tade entries are now closer to happening. Will you bring up a good point with traditions. I did see on twitter. The think I saw that Mike joke was it's GonNa be doing the start your engines. He's now is I can't confirm or deny that but anyways yeah those kind of little subtle things. Even the Jaquier I think was saying you know the little things like bringing it being able to bring your own cooler and things things like that like that stuff matters to the fans and they may have like being minor decisions in a boardroom. Type setting the has a huge impact on just the tradition so again with thirty three entry thing. We've discussed a lot between the months of February and may last year and it was super annoying to be honest. But that kind of thing is gonNa rise again and I think it's going to be a huge test to see. If now is penske GONNA get his way or is he can Take seep listen to Jay frying company who it seemed like. They're against it. So I I definitely. There's more of a chance guaranteed entries happening now. The penske is the owner her. But I don't think it's a foregone conclusion quite yet I also feel like we will probably have that discussion point probably about seven or twelve twelve more times before the month of May in two thousand and twenty and yes I will be giving the command to start your engines next year. You heard it here. I I know you heard from me. I on twitter worked out the wording on twitter too. If you guys want to see it it's GonNa be real good. Yeah and Mike also heard from her veil even contact with Mike yet on kind of just broken tim. So that's cool. I appreciate the anyway I I know like I said I think we're GONNA see this..

"The card. look the Penske. yeah a long sustained drive there by that the Oct fifteen point seventy five yards eight minutes eight seconds your cart back are capped off with a nine yard touchdown run the October twenty seven again this can't move quickly critical about two minutes left I thank you look I I can't remember the trend is I'll look it up maybe one of the breaks but Russell Wilson following a loss has a solid record against the spread and course Seattle lost to Carolina last week on the road divisional opponent granted Arizona defensively not great this year Mike but Russell Wilson continues to rebound off losses and looks like who do so again today yeah and I think we're gonna see tonight is how good this New Orleans Saints team is because they were the first team to go in and be Pete Carroll in Seattle the month of September that's C. house only loss and in fairness to them they had a key piece in JB on cloudy detaining Clowney late I think it's gonna take awhile for him to work his way into that scheme but this is a really well balanced team that wants to run the ball and Russell Wilson as you said is a resilient quarterback I think they're gonna be the give the rams everything they want going down the stretch here the other see west and we just can't handed division title over to the rams are struggling today obviously but both teams looks like we'll be three in one and I like Russell Wilson I like the fact that the rain the ball Chris first another beginning today over a hundred yards this is a really well built team and the rams are marching so we'll get you an update their their third third down by multiple scores early in the fourth quarter will see if they've got to come back within them again we'll we'll update you in a second on that we have the NFC west is interesting feel because you've got the forty Niners who were idle today they don't play but they're undefeated right now there's certainly plenty of question marks there with the way that the ramps of struggle today with the way that looked at the Browns deep deep in LA territory on Sunday night Baker Mayfield the often stall for Cleveland or else you know the rams could be you two one two. after after today and then then you have Seattle lost last week to Carolina but rolling against Arizona yes US is wide open yeah it sure is maybe the question is is there is there a dominant team this year might. Sir Donald NFL team this year yeah yeah I would say the Kansas City Chiefs offenses dominant you could maybe make the argument that the New England defense is dominant but I think it's really fair point so it just feels like things have opened up a little bit relative to where we thought they might be a little while ago it was longer before we we thought Hey the rams the patriots the saints the chiefs as well machine guns stormed through after one week we wondered if the lions and if the bears are gonna be okay right the eagles are counted out maybe the cowboys are dominant team feels like right now there hasn't been a team that has been start to finish dominate now four games so far this season and I get the forty Niners of look good so I think there's a good opportunity for a team to maybe establish himself as a dominant one going forward we haven't yet seen it we talked we said that the rams were marching let's get an update. Jessica said we might as well just have you on hold Jesse..

"Five drive is it's not just that, you know, JJ's one ten sixteen and Penske's one five, it's that those winds aren't split up between all of their drivers. It's three JJ our drivers into Penske drivers five drivers have fifteen of sixteen wins. That is not. I mean, you might have some action here and there in restarts. But you tell me you make a good explanation to me, how five drivers out of forty winning ninety percent of the races constitutes. Awesome racing in an awesome improvement because of this rule package. Low downforce. Yeah. Right. Yeah. No, I mean you're right. It's it doesn't like this is not competitive. Yeah it's not like you. You could say it's good rates, you could look at all these green flag passes, but the green flag passes or just because you hit the loop fast than the other guy, and then like twenty twenty feet later. He's, you know, he's passed you exactly. You know. It doesn't the problem is it's proof in advertising, right? They're advertising, this and people start seeing it now. They don't they don't take logic into effect. They don't take the fact that yeah, these guys just reaching the loop at different times. They don't take that into effect at all. It's just a matter of what they see in green flag passes, and they take that as gospel, because unless be honest, they're not seeing the whole goddamn thing either because of the fact that FOX's and show, everybody. Right. Exactly. And and what you know, when, when I go to the track, what do they do? They walk around the hauler sim by the they drank, they buy merch and they go in the and they watch race. They're not watching the race because they want to see they want to witness the awesome. That is Martin trucks junior, or j g are winning everything. They're going there because they want to see their driver win. And they wanna feel like their driver has a chance to win. And right now in lesser fan of tricks or Kyle Busch. Or maybe joy Lagaan. Oh because because Laskey it's been awhile since he's won a little while Hamlin it's been awhile since his one unless you're a fan of five drivers. You don't feel like your driver has a chance to win. So. Maybe. Maybe he's chase chase Elliott me..

"Arab door to door. They come off the quarter and want us will win in my car Lakers across the star Finn side rusty Wallace. Getting his first win with his brand new team in nineteen Ninety-one. The team has won over one hundred premier series races in NASCAR. But rusty Wallace will Windisch ten fraiche of the year. And in two thousand eight Penske one is first of two Daytona five hundred's with Ryan Newman. Ryan Newman brings them off turn four for the last time into the trial vote. A long dry spell for this driver. He will win the fiftieth state tone up five hundred and his second came in twenty fifteen with Joey Logano, the Daytona five hundred is over and across the line taking the captain Roger Penske to victory lane is Joey Lugano in two thousand twelve Brad Keselowski one. The captain his first championship at the Cup level. And twenty eight year old Brad Keselowski is the NASCAR sprint Cup series champion. I can't tell you. What a thrilled is Romy was goal. I've had. For so many years in when able to make it happen now. It's just amazing and this past November Lugano scored Penske's second championship Gano in its tenth fold type season. The Cup series is going to win while his accomplishments on the tracker impressive. His work off. The track has been tremendously important in nineteen Ninety-six Penske built the two mile auto club speedway in southern California. But to come to a racetrack like this for Roger Penske has put together one hundred and ten million dollars facility everything here is almost perfect. We haven't heard any negatives from any of the drivers and previously owned the Michigan International Speedway Nazareth speedway and North Carolina speedway. Former NASCAR president Mike Helton says Penske's vision to build the auto club speedway has always been admirable to think that there was gonna be a race track on that piece of property took a lot of vision had always had a great deal of admiration for Roger Penske. But for. Him to see they all clip speedway potential right there in that footprint. I still every time I pull into the speedway. I still think about that moment. You would be hard pressed to find anyone more respected in the garage area than Roger Penske says competitor and friend Rick Hendrick of Hendrick motorsports. As one of my best friends, I have nothing but respect for him what he's accomplished is unbelievable role. It's unbelievable to see someone that can win and Formula one and and open wheel and and went all the championships. And do the things he thought I don't know how he doesn't. He's a perfectionist. Then as again, I I admire him in. Poll them in the high regard the motor racing network. Congratulates the newest member of the NASCAR hall of fame Roger Penske. All three of Roger Penske's Cup series drivers drove to victory lane in two thousand eighteen and one of those drove to a championship Joey Logano in its tenth full time season in the Cup series is going to win the two thousand eighteen zero man, I honestly, I I would have thought he'd been inducted into the hall of fame along before this after seeing what he's given to our sport into our community. You know, I think it's one of the best kept secrets in our sport. Sometimes you forget when you watch these videos of all the race ones. You forget that he built a lottery strikes. You forget that you know, his whole businesses built them on racing. You know, he's here we had our fiftieth anniversary of NBN racing years ago. Now, you know, so what a great honor for him to to be able to to be inducted into. You know, what is the biggest award? You can get in our sports. So I'm so excited to be there. Into watch it and to be part of that. And it couldn't come at a better time after you win a championship. And then you cap it off with being inducted into the NASCAR hall of famers is that it's well deserved for a man that has a big heart. But also won't you won't ever..
