B. I. access the phones apple denied those allegations but Bora dress the issue again this week if technology companies like apple are willing to oblige the demands of authoritarian regimes they certainly have no excuse for failing to cooperate with the rule of law nations that respect civil liberties and privacy rights and have judicial safeguards the AG went on to stress the importance of cooperation from tech companies when combating threats to our homeland we need American tech leaders to work with us not against us director ray said the information obtained on the shooter's phones was critical information it shows that al Shirani described a desire to learn about flying years ago around the same time he talked about attending the Saudi Air Force Academy in order to carry out what he called a special operation in February an audio recording said to be from al queda claimed responsibility for the attack the FBI now confirming the shooter's ties to the
The FBI broke Apple’s iPhone encryption, but you shouldn’t panic
"Justice Department is still angry at Apple. You probably saw the stories yesterday that had Attorney General William bar announcing that the F. B. I was able to break into the phone of the. What's the word I'm looking for? Who Shot Up Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida? Killing three and wounding eight. According to a bar evidence on the phone ties this. Well sure but how much easier would have been for the DOJ if apple had you know snuck him in the back way that had bar saying thanks to the great work of the FBI and no thanks to apple? We were able to unlock the individuals phones. The bottom line national security cannot remain in the hands of big corporations who but dollars over lawful access and public safety. The time has come for a legislative solution. The piece from the verge had bar saying Apple's decision has dangerous consequences for the public safety and the national security and is in my judgment unacceptable. Apples desire to provide privacy for its customers is understandable but not at all costs. There is no reason why companies like apple cannot design their consumer products and APPs to allow for court authorized access by law enforcement while maintaining very high standards of data security striking. Maybe the piece from Apple and CIDER on the issue points out that Rhodium which buys bats and sells exploits to law enforcement and other officials announced last week that it was done buying IOS exploits for a while because it has too many of them. But there Oughta be a law in the opinion of the Department of Justice that makes breaking into iphones like yours. Senior Staff Attorney Brett Max Kaufmann responding to the comment saying every time there's a traumatic event requiring investigation into digital devices. The Justice Department loudly claims claims. It needs back doors to encryption and then quietly announces and actually found a way to access information without threatening the security and privacy of the entire world. The boy who cried. Wolf has nothing on the Agency. They cried encryption. Of course having been called out specifically apple took umbrage at the DOJ's portrayal was probably the part when G. Bar said no thanks to apple apple insider had apple responding to the DOJ's characterization after expressing in no uncertain terms how devastating and heinous last December's terrorist attack was apple pointed out that it began helping the FBI that day. According to the company statement we provided every piece of information available to US including cloud backups account information and transactional data for multiple accounts and we lent continuous and ongoing technical and investigative support to FBI offices in Jacksonville Pensacola and New York. Over the months. Since on this and many thousands of other cases we continue to work around the clock with the FBI and other investigators who keep Americans safe and bring criminals to justice as a proud American company apple continued. We consider supporting law enforcement. Important work our responsibility. The false claims made about our company or an excuse to weaken encryption and other security measures that protect millions of users and our national security. It is because we take our responsibility to national security so seriously that we do not believe in the creation of a back door one which will make every device vulnerable to bad actors who threaten our national security and the data security our customers. There is no such thing as a back door. Just for the good guy says apple and the American people do not have to choose between weakening encryption and effective investigations.

That had previously been locked that the shooter a Saudi Air Force officer tried to destroy before he was killed by law enforcement. We now have a clearer understanding of al-Shamrani associations and activities in the years months and days leading up to this attack attorney. General William Bar said at a news conference the new details including that Al Sham. Ronnie had been radicalized abroad before he arrived in the. "For joining us Brent is a Brett is with us in Pensacola high bred how are you very good thank you taking my call sure what's up and a plus for us like a logical problem than a financial problem growing up we didn't have a whole lot and I have saved as much as I can and I'm at a point in my life where you know I think I'm okay but mentally I don't feel like I'm okay you know I guess most people invest never really feel like they've got enough so that that kind of my problem okay and how much do you have in your nest egg well if you add up all my investments about two point five nine about ten point five million no no no two two five five okay good good for you when you started with nothing you said right you grew up with well I got out of the military N. and nine eighty five and I have two nickels to rub together yeah so how old are you fifty six will and what do you make a year these days well it always varies between two fifty and three fifty okay and what would be an example of something that you think a normal person with two and a half million dollars as if that's normal well I don't know what any normal person spend money on that you that you are psychologically don't feel like you can well you know it's funny I mean I talked to a lot of people have searched out many of website and then I came across your show which I just learned about long ago and you know you always want verification I guess is it enough you know some people think you know ten thousand a month is enough fifteen thousand a month twenty thousand a month to live comfortably you know just you just don't know so I'm quite frugal probably drive my wife crazy calculating our finances every twice a month at least so what is the biggest luxury item you guys have bought in the last five years what's the biggest LeGarrette I'm I got about portion my garage well okay what a hundred grand a little more now cool what's the biggest thing she's bought the original version Kerr Kerr a range rover okay so you got a couple nice cars okay you having trouble spending money on cars that's one weakness I do that that's not a weakness you're you're the you're in good enough shape to drop both those cars I would drive those cars if I were in your shoes I think that's fine so here's the thing that I have figured out as far as in joining money there's and someone from what you're asking me is how can I enjoy this I don't know if not because I can't enjoy it if I don't think it's enough correct but if I heard you're right that's what I was hearing and liked that happens a lot too those of us that started from nothing in my case I start another became a millionaire and then went bankrupt before I was twenty eight I had to start again because I'm stupid show on so I you know I kind of have that fear in the back of my head you know that one black clouds psychologically hovering around the back back there like oh god this year you don't even if you don't think I do ya as my wife she's got a bigger one than ours I don't know if we can afford it or not I'm not done and we can definitely afford that register but so the thing that's helped me do that is I have learned that I can allow myself to enjoy money easier if I'm doing two things one is my generosity is high if I'm giving then it's okay for me to drive a Porsche you know that helps me in the Porsche more I think if I was stopped up and I would never giving anything not helping anybody with any of the money then it would be harder to enjoy the Porsche okay and so like I drive a really really I've got several really nice cars on the card geek and so I've got ridiculous money and cars are but as a percentage of my net worth which is the second thing and as a percentage of my giving up even though they're really ridiculously nice cars like you have you know you got wonderful cars but you know it as an example in your case you've got blood let's say a hundred and seventy thousand dollars for the cars under fifty thousand over the car sitting there and if I if you give away three thousand dollars a year then that's going to make it hard for you to enjoy those cars then so generosity factor in ratio to what you're enjoying whatever it is if you travel and you guys spent a hundred grand on travel and you only give two thousand dollars away a year you it's gonna be harder to enjoy the travel because you're becoming he'd missed you're becoming inward facing and selfish and greedy kind of a person even though you didn't mean to but generosity helps break that down in your spirit and keep your soul a little cleaner the second thing I look at is I look at ratio which I am not that's what I'm doing your car's a hundred and thirty dollars for the cars as a percentage of two and a half million is nothing if you took those cars like the Porsche in the garage and I usually I drive a range rover as well yeah but if you took all your cars and put in the front yard with no insurance is that far too long your life really doesn't change your life doesn't change it's a smaller percentage of your world that it's easy to enjoy it because you're not online but you take a guy who's making sixty thousand dollars a year and has a negative net worth with student loans and he drives a fifty thousand dollar car you know in those guys are all over America right and see that makes it that not only makes that car stupid but it makes it harder to enjoy because the ratios are out of whack he's got too much of his life tied up in luxury things if a girl's got a ring on her hand and that is the entire couples net worth it's harder to enjoy that ring where Sharon is like she's got yeah this ridiculously wonderful ring looks like a headlight but when we got married it was a we got married I mean she got up to a point two three it wasn't even a full fourth of a carrot that ones in the safe because it's nostalgic but it you know it wouldn't even show up around the ring that she's gotten off you know and I'm getting I'm just saying it's a shame because we've worked so hard you and me both for so many years if my generosity is up there I find I can enjoy a portion of my wealth and if it's a small portion of my wealth small enough then I can enjoy it we can go on a luxurious trip that costs more than we used to make in a year back in the day you know and you could do that right now and you could actually you know you could too and it's it's it's well it's a high percentage of.

S. for military training now are there were there were also allegations that there were other Saudi students who were filming the attack as it happened the FBI deputy director David Bauder said there was no indication that the others were involved in the in the attack he also said that no one ideology is believed to have motivated the the attack but he did say the shooter posted messages echoing the ideology of al Qaeda cleric Anwar al Awlaki well okay so there is your ideology pretty I don't think he was he was motivated by the Amish okay I'm pretty sure the Quakers had nothing to do with this now the the allegation that there were other Saudi cadets involved in this because they were filming it we found out that they will they happen to be in the area and they took videos of what was happening in the fully cooperated with investigators we know though the twenty one are being withdrawn from the program and sent back to Saudi Arabia for a contact of becoming a one of their officers one of their their military members some had child porn on their computers and some had some anti American comments on their social media so coming up I'm gonna go into this phone business what apple says what the FBI is saying and now what we're hearing that a judge has now gotten involved in this but how you feel about companies being forced to unlock and and get into social media computers.

"We are here to tell you what is trending Friday afternoon. Some fun stories. Some not all art or stark. Yeah things going on Pensacola shooting is trending because there was another shooting on a naval base. And there's just one in Hawaii Yell Harbor or with a guy who's submarine had docked there and right and killed two civilian workers at the memorial. This one was someone at the beginning. They said there was a shooting unable facility and one of the first things they said is there they are still looking to see if it was a terrorist attack and they were confused and then it came out that the suspect who is also dead is an aviation student from Saudi Arabia So I think it was like in a program where we take other people's bulls like military officials or people who working with who are going to be working with American forces to get sort of literate and how things operate go may have been in some. I'm kind of program like that But yeah but he was and he was in Florida. Yeah this is in Pensacola. Yeah so yeah. There's a not a great history of Saudi aviation students now in Florida now on the yeah it comes to terrorism King Salman of Saudi Arabia expressed his sincerest condolences to President Trump. I mean knowing this president right water under the bridge. Right So yeah I actually. When I first saw this breaking thought people were referring to the one that happened the other day? Now turn it out. No Yeah we live. In America. These happened constantly It's the nineteenth. I think the nineteenth shooting at a military facility in the US engineers ten years but most of the time people aren't allowed to have firearms on those bases like a select few rape and we don't know what the motivation is. No I think they're still That's what the FBI has taken over the investigation. This isn't even like a local law enforcement thing it's it's a full on federal matter. Now got it Nikki. Haley is trending would did she. She gave an interview. Yeah she was talking to Glenn Beck Back Oh remember that fucking putrid back. Yeah So you know. She was in a very safe space and just say whatever she really felt. And that's I think what happened. A lot of people have been talking about how she's like the next Gen Republican kind of candidate. There are rumors that she could be trump's running mate if he ditched pens and twenty twenty. I need to try and like you know. Shore up some more votes Obviously from women because they're just like well that's how that'll work put women on ticket and it will erase all all the other terrible things I've said and done in my life. Yes but yeah in this interview. My God she's talking about The shooting at Mother Manual Church in Charleston Allston and was saying that like that the shooter had hijacked the meaning of the confederate flag with his manifesto and to how the media just wanted to make shooting all about race and racism. And it's it was just a wildest thing here. It's like well that he was. It was a racially motivated. You can attack terror attack And the weird history lesson she gave of sort of like I mean it's not what it stands for. You know it's it's not about hate or federal flag yes was basically the thrust of what you're saying that prior to that it was because I think it was in relation to shoes governor at the time who basically took made the confederate flag. Like you know it was no longer the flag the state flag of South Carolina. Oh so she was trying to like. Nah I didn't mean that that mean while many people were like yes. That's exactly what brands for what it's used for by the people who fly. Not only that I mean even like the person who designed find the confederate flag was like Nah man like white black literally something about how the White Race will stay supreme overall. Because that's what the civil war or was about. No it was about Just economic reality realities and and that's that's it but yeah. It was very chilling to see someone so casually casually just change the meaning of history like that. And this is the thing that I've said in a past episode. She really is the kind of person if they really were trying to take things in an authoritarian direction could do it so subtle like people just very disarmed by her demeanor and things like that right. But then she's out here dog whistling dixie raw and yeah and yeah I mean many people but that's the thing that people have just kind of casually Referenced during the Trump Administration that you know when somebody who's actually competent And not like openly corrupt kids along and you know decides that they WanNa go on a populist direction decides they want to take the the conditions that trump is exploiting and and make it an authoritarian country. We're going to be in a lot more trouble than we already are Ya. And she seems like a good candidate for that sort of thank well. Let's talk about bath and body works. Candle Day Take us in a new direction. Yeah Trending I. I don't know I was like I mean. I guess what has happened why this apparently there is. They have an annual candle day. But why do they get candle day. I mean I don't I think because is like look I like a Nice Senate candle. Okay actually not. I love scented candles. They help make my stinky as house. Yeah not carry one around with you. I do and I use it as yoder interior not very effective. The WAX is all over the place but apparently they're normally. These candles are three candles Jack. They they can last for forty five hours or some shit. Oh Yeah they're normally like twenty five or twenty six bucks or something and then I guess during this one day only December seven th the date that will live in infamy are nine nine dollars and fifty cents is this day that will live in infamous number seven is yes. Yeah wow so. It's not only as the Pearl Harbor Anniversary Right. Also Bath and body bodyworks candle handled them. There's something about for me. Bath and body works has a special place in my juvenile heart because it was like the first perfume perfume girls wore like in middle school. Math and bodywork. Yeah because you could just go to lake or whatever. Country Apple Splash all the time and Woah Camila sugar you know what I mean. They have all those sense and to me I always think of my adolescent thing like that was the earliest sent memory of a young woman. Yeah but yeah I know what you're talking about. That actually reminds me of being very sick when I was younger because I have a sense memory of like our entire family. Got The flu or got the stomach stomach. Some sort of stomach virus and like we were always using That like country apple sent to really ever up everyone's like so sick And now like so different times country apple brought back to that summer when everybody was puking. Ma'am Let's talk about about Knicks about them. Knicks the knickerbockers From of New York have a are trending again for this time firing their head coach. How long was David fizzed? Ill the head coach his He was there for a season and change. Okay Yeah I mean would it look I mean. I guess we'll help the now we're going to do the NBA show. What a terrible job? Have the head coach of the Knicks. It's really it's really really something Because you are you are coaching for a I mean. I don't know much about the jam so some people who pay any more attention than NBA than me say that the new GM like kind of has a plan but they they play for or they coach for and work for the worst owner in sports in maybe not in sports but definitely a basketball About to spin off their businesses. The game's going straight straight shot Madison's like MSG though they're going to be like yeah. There's something going on that. Or maybe he's actually possibly looking into selling but I feel he like he would hold onto the Yankees just out of spite because people like he's very spiteful do oh yeah I mean just from the anecdotal stuff about him or being like you wanna a play a Madison Square Garden. Yeah then my band will open. Yeah and those are the conditions of the eagles. The Eagles the confidence a terrible band. I mean shoutout to Jimmy D. The it's funny because you know we're we're dead bind Church charm and if you're not blowing niece in an old church what are you doing the were fans of Jesus Romero obviously diesels and they. They're air constantly living the never ending nightmare being knicks fans. No and the things he tweeted as like right after it has been so great. Is that Nick's head coaching position Now now the mandatory minimum sentence if you get caught with a firearm and then he did tweet another thing from years ago from two thousand fourteen because it became relevant again. He said your girl rubbing you like. It's okay baby after every knicks game but inside she's like can't spend my life doing this deserve a good team for how big their city is. A Yeah I mean it's.
