Fresh update on "penny" discussed on Game Theory Podcast

"Okay, we're back. It is time for mailbag. We do not do mailbag last week because we did a mock draft that lasts a two hours. I'm surprised that penny even came back. After that. We always come back. So let's dive into some questions. So I've said you some of these in advance. Thankful. I like the ones off the cuff, but some of them take a little bit of preparation. We're prepared. We're not that prepared. My favorite question that we got was from LaCroix one Aiden will go with that. In your years covering the draft, what was the most surprising out of left field pick that you can remember? Do you want me to go first? I can go first, if you want me to go first, I have like an obvious pick for me. You do. Okay. I do too. But I didn't know. I just wanted to do the chivalrous thing and let the house go first. So chooses to. You go first. Georgia's Papa John is not close. Number one. 13th the Sacramento. And here's why it is for me. Well, a lot of these times it's foreign guys that I just haven't seen like a ton and you just kind of trust the numbers. You trust the international scouts and draft community because you watch a little bit on tape, but you don't see guys in person. So if somebody's overseas averaging 6 points per game, it's like, all right, whatever. If the scouts have seen them, he's all consensus there. He was different in that he went to the west town school in Pennsylvania for a year as a junior. And we were recruiting to Reebok camp and it's kind of like, this guy's fine. He'd be like, okay, big to have. And the job we always made was like, come get dunked on. Like, we'll get a 6 ten 6 11 guy that we had Zach lavine and Keith Fraser and all these crazy athletes that good luck playing defense on those guys and camp settings. He didn't come. He played on a different circuit, but the games that I saw on the film that I saw just really stiff really rigid didn't move well. I almost like forgot about them and then I saw a few places he was a second round pick and I was watching the draft and he was picked and I said, oh my God. And it was basically in two years. I just didn't understand that one at all. I have no idea how that happened. I just don't. I had them, I think it like 40 or so. That's something like that. You're even in the weeds of doing the mock drafts at this time too. So he was like, yeah, oh no, yeah. 35 spots off in the first round. Yeah, no, he was. It was not even close. That was a look like the kings do weird shit. So like, you always have some potential expectation that there could be weird shit coming from Sacramento..

Garland Urges Congress to Protect Voting Rights

"Merrick Garland gave a speech yesterday and let's see, let's play cut number two. The Department of Justice will continue to do all it can to protect voting rights with the enforcement powers we have. It is essential that Congress act to give the department the powers we need to ensure that every eligible voter can cast a vote that counts. Right there, that's the AG being political. Every eligible voter can vote a cast about the counts. It's just nonsense. I can't believe the attorney general in the United States use the anniversary of one 6 to go out there and push it partisan agenda. But it was a partisan speech. The bottom line of this beach, please stop yelling at me. We're finding everything we can. There's just no there there. There's no big conspiracy. And he made some vague reference. We'll follow the investigation wherever it leads however Hyatt goes. Yeah, right. It's not going anywhere. Trump was not organizing an insurrection. People say, didn't you see what Peter Navarro said? Peter Navarro said they had a war room at the Willard trying to persuade Mike Pence not to count. That's not an insurrection. It's an interpretation of the Electoral College act, and it was a wrong interpretation. It screwball. And I believe eastman's second memo said that my friend John eastman wrote two memos, one of which has been leaked by the January 6th committee, which isn't really a committee. It's a rough committee. The saddest part about this is that when Nancy Pelosi hijacked due process of the minority and she could have gotten away with a pointing Liz Cheney, could Liz Cheney has the respect of a lot of Americans. But when she wouldn't let Kevin McCarthy name Jim banks the chair put Jim Jordan on she destroyed the credibility of the committee and nobody cares what the committee does, except those people who have already hung Donald Trump in their mind for treason. So it's just a nonsense

Erika Kirk Interviews Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany

"Woman. You're a phenomenal role model to so many girls. You are a woman of God, you're a mother, you're an author. You're incredible. You I, if anyone can't see this, I'm like Kayleigh McEnany. The one and only. But you were our strong voice. In The White House, for the longest time, when there was chaos everywhere, we just every time you stepped up to that podium, we knew that you were going to give us the facts. And yeah, it was important. There are actually t-shirts that say facts on it, which I'm very often. Thank you for that. And thank you for the kind words, and I feel the same about you. A strong woman of faith and you and Charlie are just what a powerhouse couple. So it's an honor every time I get to come to turning point USA. We've crossed paths so many times from young women's leadership summit. And he did phenomenal there too. The girls were just on the edge of their seat, just listening to every word in soaking it in. And being a role model and having the weight on your shoulders, every time you walked up to that podium, what was going through your I know you talk about this in your book, but what would go through your head before you stepped out there and walked into that podium where you just saying prayers were you saying a Bible verse? What were you? What was going through your head? Yeah, it's a great question. I certainly, though I projected confidence at the podium, oftentimes the steps up to the podium were not so confident. They were filled with nerves and apprehension. Certainly the first time I did it, I was in tears in my office and I'm supposed to be at the podium. It's my very first briefing in my assistant comes in. You can't be crying right now and puts my parents on speaker phone. And we said a prayer together and then I went to the private west wing bathroom and got on my knees instead of prayer and then I went to the podium and people like Mike Pence were so wonderful motion towards me with praying hands and said, you know, I've been praying for you and I love the first. You tweeted out, flippy and four 13. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. So while I was very nervous, there were great Christian men and women around the country praying. One was Sarah Sanders, my predecessor, who told me before each of her briefings, she read a Jesus calling devotional. I happen to have the same devotional and I would read it, and she sent me the day of my first briefing, her devotional from exactly two years prior, which said, you know, essentially you're on the path of my choosing, don't worry, but I couldn't help the human side of me from worrying. Totally. But when I stood at the podium, I felt total serenity that first time I was standing somewhere I had stood a thousand times. It was somewhere I was meant to be. And so the calm that I projected was not anything that I achieved. Yes, we put in the hard work and the facts and the research, but it was something so much bigger than me and it was because of all of the people

How Can You Claim a Religious Exemption for the COVID Vaccine?

"Folks I'm talking to John. Smear rack. John, let's just continue. You're talking about helping your friend Vinny, that the name I guess is made up, but a real friend who's here in New York, like I am who is being forced or at least his employers trying to force him to take this experimental RNA therapy made with, I mean, abortion is inevitably at the heart of this horrible treatment, whatever they're calling it. So let's talk. Let's go. My Friends employer is a great employer. They have no choice. Bill de Blasio has issued a decree, the way Mussolini is issued to create. He has decided everybody in New York is going to take this experimental vaccine that has never been tested for safety. Everybody, they're just going to do it because the mayor says so. And since this is Vladimir Putin's Russia, I'm sorry, no, this is New York City. There's a Statue of Liberty in the harbor. But that's kind of a hollow statue. It's only a penny in penny, penny worth of copper, thickness. The liberty in New York has become mighty hollow if the mayor can buy decree control the medical decisions of everybody in the city or they're unemployed. So basically obey or starve. So my friend asked me that I don't want to take this thing because it's entailed with abortion. They used the boarded babies to make it on a tested. What do I do? So this employer said, they will consider religious exemptions. If you have a genuine religious objection, and that's the law, folks, the law says that your employer has to accommodate sincere legitimate religious objections. So I went and looked the Thomas more society. If you go to Thomas more society dot org, they have a resource page, vaccine legal help. And it offers you sample letters you can write, explaining your conscientious decision as a result of your religious belief, whatever it is, they have ones for different churches. Why you don't want to take a vaccine that would not have been possible without

Are We Going to Get Serious About the Threat of the 'Great Enemy'?

"The bigger question when it comes to China is, are we going to be serious about the great enemy? That we are going to be facing the next hundred years. The answer for the NBA, the answer for Hollywood, the answer for Wall Street, the answer for many of the tech companies has been, we want to get endlessly rich, off the Chinese Communist Party. We built that. You know, Barack Obama had that famous quote in 2012 when he was campaigning for president. you did not build that. Somebody else made that happen. Well, China I have a message for you. You did not build that. We made that happen. Your entire empire is because of a massive labor arbitrage that we executed against our own people. It was people from Mackenzie people like Mitt Romney. People that came from venture capital that cared more about trying to maximize pennies on a dollar to try to lower wages so that we can get more plastic from Wuhan and now vitamin C and penicillin and critical drugs are now made in Mainland China and not in America. We are always told that endless trade was going to just make us endlessly richer. And look, trade can be a benefit, of course it can be. Obviously. It would be against economics to say that. The question is, what's the downside? A mature society asks the question, what's the cost? There's a cost to everything. And the cost is, okay, we get a bunch of piles of plastic from China, okay? We get to be able to make points on the deal of opening up new manufacturing plants of a bunch of plastic we're never going to use. Or t-shirts we're never going to wear. Okay. What's the cost? How about millions of your fellow countrymen here in America out of work that then go get displaced to opioids and destroy the muscular class? Oh, we don't care about them. We just care about maximizing profits. Well, what about the destruction of small town America? We don't care about that. We just care about maximizing profits. I'm not saying it didn't maximize profits, but was that holistically the best thing for the country? Is it a good thing that we do not manufacture or we don't produce vitamin C in this country?

"You. You've had a long book laby had a great bestseller parallelism bookstores everywhere continues to sell. It continues to make news. In fact, let's go back to the most recent headlines Robert Costa from peril. What is the latest, it's really the John eastman memo, John is a friend of mine, and I've known him forever. He's a very fine lawyer. You put in the short form of the eastman memo. Did you have the long form available to you? Well, there are two versions of the eastman memo that eastman memo that matters in our report in peril is the one that goes to senator Mike Lee of Utah that was circulated by The White House. The January 2nd 2021. Did each man know it was going to go out from The White House because lawyers will often. I haven't talked to John yet. But they will often prepare talking point memos, summary memos that are not supposed to go a to the client or be to the top of the client chain and certainly not outside of the client's control. Well, I'm not sure what eastman knew about the circulation of this memo. I do know that John was in the Oval Office with Trump and Pence and Marc short and pence's advisers on January 4th, two days before the certification. Pushing the argument, eastman has made further comments about that meeting The New York Times in our book, which is we stand by. President Trump was really telling Trump, assuming Trump was really telling Pence, listen to Jon, listen to John, you can do this. You can walk away, try to allow this to go to the house, delay the certification.

"I've seen Jack talk about the shade war, I'm really interested in knowing more about Jill Biden versus Kamala, what's the dynamic like? Oh, it's huge. Build out some of that out more piece from The Bronx. Thank you. And thank you for subscribing to the Charlie Kirk show podcast. Go ahead, check. There you go. Yeah, so the shade war has been going on. I mean, we all kind of know that Kamala Harris, of course, was nobody else's pick either. However, in the wake of George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter movement, Joe Biden was kind of in a box. He had to choose someone who was African American. And then so Kamala Harris was the one a lot of the media, a lot of the elites have been pushing her early on. Remember very early on she did that town hall with Jake tapper, just out of nowhere. Nobody was talking about Kamala and suddenly CNN is feeding her on the entire audience saying, oh, combo is going to be amazing. She's going to be great. Very, very naked on her feet. Obviously. But like Hillary Clinton in many ways, she's kind of the California version of Hillary Clinton, where she plays the inside game. She understands what's going on. She plays people against each other and you know, the inside politics, the office politics, the palace intrigue, if you will. I mean, look, she went from somebody who was a staffer in San Francisco all the way up to being the senator from San Francisco. People want to talk about how she did it. My point is she did it. She made it happen. Right. That's ambition. That's a 100% ambition. This is what she is dedicated her life to. So I wanted to go to Joe, and say, you know, Joe, you're not supposed to put someone as your vice president that you know will betray you, then they get the chance, right? You know, with Trump and Pence, you never had that with wish and JD. And obviously with Obama and Biden, Biden was never a threat to

"Congresswoman. Can you just walk through for our listeners. In a couple of minutes remaining you're just a businesswoman. A regular person you went to congress. How broken is washington dc. How corrupt is it. Just tell us from a normal person's is it is the it's a. It's like a business that should be out of business It's so corrupt and bro. Can i'm constantly shocked in. It's hard for me to even feel shocked anymore. But every time i go there i see another failure every single department and the government is completely mismanaged They they will fund programs with millions and billions of dollars and then they mismanage. Every single penny is so you know you know how it is. It's like it's like going into a restaurant and trying to order food and the waiter waitress never shows up at the table and then they finally common they say what do you want and then you order your meal and then you wait and you wait and you wait. The food never shows up. That's the government that is exactly how it is. I hate to use a restaurant as an example because most restaurants are so great and they. That's why they're successful because regular Running businesses every single day and working very hard know how to do their jobs. Far better than people in the government. And i'm embarrassed by our federal government. I think it's a complete joke I think it's a disaster and those people couldn't do The everyday americans job. They couldn't even do your job. Pence Slams Biden for Pushing COVID Vaccine Mandates

"Yesterday we reported on president biden's new plan to get more people vaccinated and in effect for about one out of three americans if they work for a corporation that's large enough. They will sort of have to get vaccinated. It's being called a mandate but please bear in mind that you don't have to get vaccinated. You can alternatively simply get tested for covert every week. But everybody's forgetting about that. Pardon wall pretending that it's a mandate so let's go forward With that understanding now we have the reaction and virtually everyone on the right hates this regardless of what they've said personally in the past about vaccine mandates and we'll be doing it but in fact checking for that but why don't we start with mike pence who was in a position of authority in response to the pandemic not long ago. Here's what he had to say about the new plan. I have to tell you. The president's speech yesterday was unlike anything i'd ever heard from an american president. I mean to have the president of the united states Say that that He's been patient but patience is wearing thin. That's not on the american people. Expect to be spoken to by elected leaders but but to say that it's not about freedom let's exactly about freedom. America is about freedom and the ability to make the best decision for your family for your business and now to have a president not just scolding the american people but scolding governors around the country It's just it's just not the american way and And i expect expect the response. They're going to get from across the country prove that.

You have to understand that that might be catalyst meaning something that influences the price of a stock. It's not necessarily the right way to about it. all right. Penny stocks are notoriously known for having their information or their marketing or the press you know inflated and manipulated by actual stock promoters. I know because people have actually come to me in the past To do that and it all haven't done any and probably won't ever and again. This is an investment advice purely educational. "Your harassment lawsuits. Maybe ten twenty stops if you did research and you're watching this handful of stops but there's not a lot of activity amount so you start scrambling around ready started on chat rooms forums. And if you don't put in the right do diligence you just trying to grab the wave sometimes at home against it so that's the only time you know if you're smart about it. I know traders at a single summer rival. They were able to do that. fifties strays trays and they were profitable out of one hour right. So the whole goal is that as you become a better traders you'll be able to know what opportunities to take in what Massachusetts right all requires his time Intense stock back up. We have a series for using. Watch me LYONEL analyze stocks traded. So you can tell you what stop patterns are good to trade which ones are going to be able to make you go prophets or to be sustainable all right so. I hope that answered the question if you guys have any other questions how much money you make trading stocks and always feel free to reach out to me We did have one question comment. There's another accident But again if you have any questions feel free to check but the first question that I saw that actually came in was have you. Short sale. Penny stocks came you even shortstop any size. All right and so. That's a good question because you know in the media what I've found is that especially the new betrayer world people who hadn't traded at all for some reason there some terminology or something awesome research out there as shorting illegal or not. You're not able to do it. That's all false. Are Short always been permitted yet is a negative connotation. Because you're hoping that the stock goes down. People feel like there might mean as English today but honestly Hedge Funds Wall Street. They knew this all along. Make millions billions of dollars off of it. And so just like how you could shore regular socks who can also short any stops and usually if you're doing kind of conduct method or did buy or depending on what trading strategy you're implementing shorting could be very very All right so that's kind of what I would recommend there. Let me check. If there's any other questions I believe there is a question. The question he stopped the said we got done was in our interest. Look a Wall Street. Underpay stocks engines compared to a way of allowing people actually get their initial exposure of unpacking stocks from the Wall Street. Right now actually will be. That came out about a year after we started any stock calm. It drew a lot of attention and traffic on the website. But essentially Wolf Lodge task Craziest already know but interesting. Things are when they're talking about penny stocks in how those would be tweeted that was all actual realize right. So when he goes into that store that area there's you know entry level kind of unskilled amateur Paul salesman who are designed penny stocks. That's exactly we used to have. That's what we refer to as boiler right where people were literally going attract to pump the breaks up Steve and they were going and talking and trading based off that are actually will have all the pinks she for right obviously the commission. If you might have remembered that movie there mentioned that it was fifty percent of the stop. That's how it was back then. Of course now is only a small shape or trade small percentage so it's nowhere near much bus any stocks. Were still alive and well that and they're still not today. The will make a difference. Today is that I mean they're still boiler rooms. There are still people getting calls or robocalls. Automated phone calls about certain stop but You know in reality. Today's world that's actually happened. Be Email so if you go to to try to independent stockholders and find a lot of these weird about sites that look like they're made in the ninety s or two thousand or something. Kinda bearing low grade injuries those guys asking for now. They're basically the same thing that boiler rooms used to do but instead of calling a bunch of able email blasting half million people who are just looking for that quick stop trade with a hot stock hit and they're pumping dumping us that way or another question. I just opened up a robinhood account with Stock losses okay. Great Mush so Robin Hood is so great. Because it's a law is an entry level for a lot of trade or people such the new generation of much more using APPS. They are very comfortable. Downloading happens setting Just beside enough for any of their camps are so. That's why Robin Hood has a great initial entry. Wear and generally speaking what you should continue to do. Study continue watching videos continue learning methodologies but also spent some time through Ron individuals and getting an understanding of all the features that it has to offer because Robin was interface is actually a bit more detail than much better than actually abs out initially and so as you learn some of the features it. Has You actually become more? And more steeler betrayed Bs Stop Watch. List is a must right before you get into any profitable trade. You have to create a watch. We teach all about how to do that. At PENNIES DOT com. Check that out after this. If you WANNA learn woodstock screener tool do recommend beginners us so stocks Tools are super important. Because that's how you get your information. That's how you figure out what type of stocks you're interested in trading right so for example is not tuned tool to use for beginners. I would say is a phys dot coms one visits F. I N. V. I. Z. As usual popular one we also have a great stock screening tool at in any stop dot cops left stops and you can use that to research socks out. How they're trading view their patterns Building module more and more and that's GonNa be available only to the VIP members at What is a good profitable as a day trader in for ten percent and twenty percent from my trades? Okay so another question on this kind of goes back to what we were mentioning with the man profitability make trading so generally speaking when. I read the twenty percent. Mark is a good time to take profits or one hundred dollars that time usually check to eighty percent rural. Unless I'm trading a skyrocket or a great platform Regio if I'm utilizing double catalysts rule. That's very important rule where we kind of look for two catalysts activate at the same time for so almost guaranteed profits are so in those scenarios Iran more. But I would say I can pointing resent you have to stop eating greedy and taking money off the table? So that's when you can implement the eighty twenty rule which is as I mentioned earlier. You Sal Eighty presented twenty of the trade so that way you can still benefit from the upside if the stocks are used up but you can rest easy knowing that certain amount has already so and that you already locked in some prophets and Last question is how much should I put a trip or absolute question that all has to do with? How big your taxes are as zip very important rule? You should never go higher than twenty to twenty five at Max of your trading portfolio right. So Council has two thousand dollars. That's totally fine. You can make good money putting five hundred dollars if you put it behind the right trade read. Because that's DOT GOV theright stock. It goes up to a you just made you hundred fifty dollars. A narrow capsized grows large are necessarily the whole goal that you have to be able to leave the money in the account for it to be your kind of weapon in order to further progress on your profits. The only way traders at random broke is when they go all in with money and and law account because they chose the wrong statute or if you follow that rule is usually twenty percent Especially for any. Count of three any accountable. Five thousand I would never wanted twenty percent any trait but on the lower end when you're first starting with the two thousand dollars put in five hundred dollars attack which comes out to about twenty five percent so great. I'm glad you guys were able to come here. Ask these questions is exactly why I'm doing this. I'm happy that more and more people are attending so we'll be covering more topics tomorrow. "Happened again. Remember at the Stock Price of a company has nothing to do with the company at all. The only thing actually has to do with is how many people are buying the stop which will cause the prices go up at. How many people are sounds up to go down. Ardy part about stock trading than ever talked about at all hard it okay. That's a really good bushes so even though he with these lessons I try to focus mainly on technical arts the terminology strategies but really the hardest part about trading is all mindset are I. It's a very mentally challenging game. It's you know when there's a lot of adrenaline that goes on when your money's at risk and you feel like you're not in control there's just a high anxiety moments and adrenaline rushes through and you have to be able to be in control of your emotions if you had a successful are the worst type of trading is instinctual or gut feelings or just reacted emotional straight as always gonna get you in a bad position and so that's why I didn't. He's not university. We TEACH PEOPLE SETUP. People through coaching calls through the Program. How to control their emotions had again in the right mindset and how to control your feelings while you're still trade or because when you have ten thousand miles of the line and saw all the signs are going against you right. You might be tempted to sell. But you're not paying attention to the right indicators. Not Looking at the technical analysis charts. You're not looking at the point of support and you can easily burn hundreds of thousands of dollars to don't do all right so that's definitely the hardest part in actually added. "Is more light to make us think. Oh well I've heard of these people making losing money so I'm GonNa do it whereas if someone had even mentioned bitcoin wouldn't even thought about it. We respond better to positive messages. The negative messages a negative messages can include being told that we have to should do something that we shouldn't if it seems like an obligation then it was seemed like a negative message. This is why people invest in companies made told them about the pop who's probably completely unqualified. And then don't listen to people in the news. Who told them that they should eat? Healthier and exercise more. This is another thing that we have to ask ourselves before we make a financial decision is the signal we're responding to you positive or negative and if it was worded differently would we be making the same choice. Another thing is the everyone thinks they know more than they do. Even professional traders investors when professional traders bio says the company they usually buying or selling to other professional traders both sides of the trade thing they know more than the other one. The share price will go up by now to make money the seller thinks that the buyer is complete moral because things share prices. Go Down so why the hell with the by it'd be buying opportunity and so what can in reality be right. But it could be either of them. Whoever is right we think is just proof of how clever they are system works so this is something that we need to be aware of. We aren't as clever as we think or put another way. We can't predict the unpredictable. So that we can. We also need to be aware that there may be tentative viewpoints out there that were just as well or even better than ours says he can see finance is not just about using the rules tolls products and systems out that. But it's just as much about knowing those of remembering the other people's behavior is also impacted by their views. Experiences live moods. We are subject spices. That mean we act certain ways always in the right way. This creates what one author. Carl Richards Coosa behavior gap. This is a difference between Acton in the right way based on impartial analysis of the facts in front of US versus the actual way we.

"Investors spend years trying to control emotions to try and avoid making irrational decisions and actions or at least years stout how other investors who feel react in different situations they can take advantage of it. In fact number of traders even use algorithms to try to medically to avoid emotional in the heat of the moment. Decisions Studies have shown that Iraqi actually reduces by thirteen points where in stressful situations. This can obviously lead US making bad decisions. We wouldn't have normally made if we were thinking cloudy now under stress even where we are under stress because to make better decisions because we're too focused on the now it's been shown that people care more about today. Today's reported is sometime in the future. So we made decisions when investing to focus on the short term then. The long-term investment is made with long-term aging. Mind like I want to retire in thirty years time so I shove thirty year focus. People can change their investments around because they think money things today are more important than they really are when you have a thirty year goal in mind as we've seen share prices change daily daily movements your pension matter. When you're so far away from retiring you pension maybe downstairs and backup tomorrow or even down this year but backup next. Year is how to train yourself to thinking investment world terms when we are geared to the right now. This is even more so today's wealth where we can check our investors anytime mobile rather than waiting for a statement in the post every three to six months these days. We are more impatient once he thinks here. And now. And that's not the way to approach investing. I always think the perfect example that shows just how Russian short-termist we can be is where we go pick no out with our mates now and know that there are some sense people out there but I am not one of them so I don't really know why you're listening to me anyway. I've been hung over many a time. They don't get any easier. I think if anything they actually get worse my stacked you hung over the last five days if I drink too much or even a little bit these days. I'm guides food death the next day. I always think if I managed to get through this. I'm never going to drink again has up. Who knows what I'm talking about your throat so most of you right yeah. How many times have we come back out again? And we later or even the next day done the same thing we'll ever again. We may even tell ourselves only have one or two but deep down. We know that's true. Yes do we do it again and again? That's our current so saying to our future selves. Fuck you I see your impending Hangover Tamari Care Right now. I'm having too much fun and no matter how much our future says a Toji. So we'll do it again and again if we call it would be rational when it comes to one daytime horizon where we already know the outcome. How can we be expected to behave rationally? When it comes investor horizons which can be from five to fifty years loan and where we have absolutely no idea of the outcome. A really what we should be doing is seeing saving and investing is a present to your future self. So maybe we sh- be nicer to our future. Self definitely appreciates it. Oh you sensible people listening. Congratulations probably healthier. Have more money would make better natural investors and the rest of us? I guess the good news is you do learn from your mistakes. I suffer from hangovers less and less these days. But that's only because I just can't deal with him anymore so I get drunk less but we should also be this when it comes to money and we don't need to gradually learn from our mistakes. They're already hundreds of years of other people's mistakes that we can learn from instead to motivate our behavior and control the pain. Let's have a look at a few more examples of how we note the so-called rational person and how this affects our behaviors. We've already spoken about. How fear and panic and causes to make bad choices. But even that fear can be rational. We're more likely to die by taking stupid selfie than we are being attacked by shock. We're more likely to die in a car crash than we are in a terrorist attack. And we're more likely to die of a heart attack. Oh cancer they win. A plane suffers turbulence. But we get over these situations. Are we more likely to take actions to prevent the least probable event each scenario then the most probable one? Yeah probably the same goes for investing. We're probably most of crushes which happen every seven ten years. Then we are missing out unless exciting but more important than steady compound returns this can lead to nausea meaning. People delay investing in the stock market in cases a crash over the long term. The early you invest even with crashes included. You were lucky better than investing it. All the same is true when we're in profit or loss we're more scared of losing a prophet then making a big loss. Evidence shows. Investors sell a profitable investment. Too early when it could make more money just to make sure they don't use a prophet yet. They were hanging onto fooling investment for too long in the hope they recovers because to schedule a make that loss of reality and in the end they lose more of ruin the share price foods further. They know how much I love real world examples. So let's look at real world example of getting out too early. Great example of this is the third founder of Apple Ronald Wayne. Now you've probably never heard of him with us because he out too early. He was only ten percent of Apple. He put out twelve days after the company was formed in nineteen seventy six. Did you go ten percent worth of shares? He got two thousand three hundred dollars which today would be worth hundred billion dollars if sold a hundred billion dollars even if it hold on just for a few years have been a multi-millionaire he says he probably would have sold out at that point. If it stuck out a bit longer in hindsight still too early. He ended up keeping later. Selling the original contract to an apple enthusiast. In the ninety s for five hundred dollars it was later auctioned off in twenty eleven one point six million dollars again. He should have waited. Jesus might have some patience if we can learn anything from this is that we should hold onto our winners. Don't be Iran because two wrongs don't make a right yet. That's pounding the bad. Pandur a state of mind when we make decisions can really impact our behavior. What action we take of the law in previous websites about how your financial health can impact mental health in this case your mental health state of mind really impact your financial health which cutting turn then go back to impact your mental health again. We've already seen how stress can reduce queue moods can also impact the way we view the road. Just think if you've had a terrible day you've been sacked. You can't stayed partners. Run off of your best friend if you look on mobile investment accounts and see the value of your investments is fooling this month. You probably think and act differently than if you just had a great day. Just think how different if just been promoted bonus someone is all out and you see. It's just a kittens studies. Show that if you're in a more positive mood people often more comfortable taking more risk whereas if you're in a negative mood you may take less risk. We may end up penalising situation a bit more so depending on the mood a person is in. They may view the drop in the value of their investments. The different light and therefore acts in a different way for example they may decide southern investments philly really risk averse or anti risk which has seen isn't a great option or if they're in a positive mood and we'll take more risk people may by Murphy Investment because they think backup. This is why casinos gamblers free drinks at the blackjack tables to keep them in a good mood and to help lubricate bad decision. Making it may even be the case. Neither option is the best choice in this narrow. Doing nothing would be better pretty goes to show that we should be aware that are meat can affect financial behavior. There are lots of other quirks. The human brain that can impact the way they behave when it comes to finances row. We tend to think that we could do better than the average return of the stock market for one in other words that we can beat the market. This is because we think we can control things in reality. We can't control to a lot of people tend to think they're above average. Everything is well and well. That's just not possible. Because its definition of average is it takes into account the ability of everyone so everyone can be above average new reality small investors which we are competitive big financial institutions out. There we have zero control of the stock market and individual share prices. Go Up and there's nothing we can do about it. Who so most professional fund managers do not beat the market consistently SA- believing that we can is lucky to see more financial harm than help. Because why would we be better than a professional another quirk? Is THAT PEOPLE. Think they're luckier than they. Actually are now. How many of you out there play the lottery..

"Three thousand eight hundred pounds justify one share in each of these big five names but because the fun collect so this amounts of money from lots of different investors it could buy the shares of behalf of the investors sews or a unit of that fund for surgery is listed as a few pounds and each share or unit of that fund would own a fraction of a share in each of the companies in that fun so for a couple of quick. You could a little bit of all of those big names for fraction of the price. So you'd get a fraction of sharing Google a fraction of share in apple a fraction of a show facebook a fraction of sharing Amazon and a fraction of Sharing Teza. But it means that you still get access these companies without having to fork out that massive three thousand eight hundred pound upfront. Now there are thousands of funds out. There they have a theme there about one hundred or more themes out there. The Fun could choose to adopt for bug the top one hundred shows in the UK. The top five hundred in the US to buying shares from all over the world you could invest in funds that cover specific industries by attack finance mining. There are funds that invest in. Joshua's just pawns. Just property jus- cash or there are funds. Invested in a bit of all US types funds can have for is this who is fifteen different investments or shares up to hundreds and hundreds. So this allows you to diversify to spread your risk between different things so that if one goes wrong you haven't lost through your money. Supply investing in a fund. You get the expertise of the fund manager. You can sit back and relax and then do the hard work for you and you get to spread your risk as well and get access to things that you wouldn't otherwise get access to so. That'S WHY PEOPLE INVEST IN FUNDS. But you can hold these funds along with us. It's like shares bonds or within a rapper whereas you can't really hold them in a bank account. The second main difference between a rapper and a bank account is a rapper investments. Up into what imaginary box that has magical powers okay? We're not quite much coup powers but when it comes to find about magical as you can get because the box usually protect your investments from tax. This is what we're talking about in the loss of who took it about tax efficient environments in tax efficient accounts. It's just a fancy way of saying that you pay less or no tax competitive you have the same masses outside of the box. Remember from the last episode. Just how much tax? You could end up paying of the different types if you bought and sold them outside of a rapper outside of that tax efficient environment by using your rapper to invest in different acid types. It means that you can see the one place because otherwise you just investing in them individually and then you've got share here share the funds. Here's funds there. Because see how they're performing one place a rapid. Let she do that. Because basically just look into your rapper and you see the performance of each individual investment within their. See how they're doing individually but you can see how the rule is. Well now. There is something that's generaux investment account. That's kind of hybrid between evaporated bank account. You can hope different investment types in your life rapper. But it just doesn't have that much tax power. The Taxi Fisher Investments Investment Account get taxes. Same Way that we looked at in the last episode and in the same way is if we just hold them individually now. We need to remember that. The rapper itself just holds investments and so therefore isn't an investment is just like bank account. Hold your cash. You Bank account isn't your investment. The catches the investment. So here. The rapper holds our investments. Think of it like a packet of liquor show sauce the investments in the assets and so the Individual Swedes. The pack is the rapid..

Some of the basketball. You're not gonNA make any money right to require. Skill requires tally way. You build skill just like anything is practice research studying and do Refiners skills and that's penny stocks. Were the whole other reason. Right is just because of the amount of profit that can make all right so for example. If you look at a stop to share. But let's just go with Apple. I saw the best example mandible. It but apple for example you buy it in a year you might make twenty seven hundred one which financial advisers of banners wealth managers Goldman Sachs. And all these companies will tell you a twenty percent on your money annually. Spent task is incredible. If you told me you opportunity make twenty percent. You could find twenty million dollars in easy if you're able to make a return right and that's an amazing year. Usually Bucci soccer only five times a year. And that's a good year. This Louis depressions a recession or anything like that. Like you would be happy if you have these types of returns now. However let's look at your own my cash flow you ask it one year this offering now the problem though is that being about in one year you may one thousand myself. Motassedeq but those types of rules of these average returns really applied to millionaires. You're not those people openside ten million dollars and making twenty percent of their money which means you need two million dollars any. That's a good return but for people like us for our retail traders. Scientific needs some extra income. If you're trying to invest your money right. This is too slow for me. I don't know if this view thousand thousand years prior to see her by his trading stocks like these in just holding them long term and honestly I always recommend students put at least twenty percent of their money aside for long-term investments so that's still a applicable trash penstock. You actually do is if you look at your finance food. Dot Com or Penny stock com slash stops. You can see eight losers and you can see that. In a single egg pays. Xyz goes up forty percent or thirty percent today and that's what we're chasing Because then you can change. I wanted to get caught out now since two thousand dollars. Two thousand dollars. It didn't seem lay. It went up forty percent now just made another eight hundred twenty eight hundred dollars in a single day. This won't be your average day but if you hold it a long time. This parliament profits is sustainable. You know these are the type of money income. You would be able to make our. I have a question here on the live. Connect Trade Penny stocks if I have a fulltime job So that's actually one of the major ways that people actually get involved with stock trading or would they end up doing is right. You're working job and finally making these. You have some savings time in anatomy being smart musing. Okay I always knew. Fool are Warren Buffett. These whatever kind of side things you heard of you WANNA put your money to good use. You WanNa make you WANNA have your money. Make money right. So you know who should be responsible should do the right thing and investor money. But now you don't know how right so a lot of the Times. We actually recommend that you star take any stocks while working full time. Because you're not gonNA overnight giving up give up your ninety five years w two job or whatever it is and get your train you know. That's a dumb move. It takes months to be able to refine their skills to become victory. So we recommend any stock. Is We show people. Have you can use mobile apps trade while working fulltime hanging build. You wash list real time alerts. So you know the Best Time Cer- trip you know. We have these talents in these trips. All the double catalysts rule that you can set up alerts trigger at work as long as the ability to employ for about a minute. Or you know for a few minutes you can actually execute your trade and still And final question. Where do you find a thing stocks? Okay so where can I finalist? So Penny stopped right first of all. They're traded on a separate exchange than normal stop. That's why they're given the terminology pens. Okay so example. The which is securities and Exchange Commission. They'll say that the these penny stocks are pretty much -vivor under five dollars all right. So that's a pretty good Vocab for a pretty good threshold but she thinks is where these stocks. "To promote the housing market and to encourage banks to lend to us into businesses to keep them afloat and to innovate basically weeklies. Keep the big-spending machine taking over and kickstart growth say also controlled the supply of money or the money that's out there in the economy but implementing something. Oh quantitative easing this is basically printing money to influence interest rates. We're going against how this works now. It's just worth noting. It was a tour they used to ultimately stimulate stimulate the economy and inflation to move towards that target two percent inflation will episode. which as? I'm sure you'll agree with me is jargon jargon but actually in financial world is simplifying things a lot and that's because there are lots of different types of inflation out there now you may have heard of a couple of these types of inflation. Firstly CPI or consumer price index the secondly RPI or the retail price index which traditionally we used to measure inflation using in October but complied with these standards. We switched over to CPI as an official measure and then again in March twenty seventeen we switched over to CPI h which is basically still CPI with some housing costs of house. Owners thrown in there are different types of inflation but just include slightly different services in that big imaginary shopping basket that we we have a slightly different calculus as well. But that doesn't really matter. We'll have something to wage inflation which is the rate at which are salaries or wages increase each year for for doing the same job. Now even though there's the Fisher measure of inflation just to add a further layer of confusion because you know this is finance party the more confusion fusion the better the government and other public organisations actually used different types of inflation to change their prices in their benefits so so. CPI is still part of the triple lock measure to work out. How much state? Pensions should increase by each year. Suicide used to work state benefits and different tax bracket should increase spy each year as well whereas Auspey is still use to work out. How much ALCO duty and train tickets go up by each year and how much interest? We need to pay on student loans as well because usually is higher than CPI the cynic in me says seems very convenient that the government uses the higher measure to increase prices that receives a benefit from Rome like higher alco prices more taxes from train tickets et CETERA. Then it uses to increase the amount of benefit pays out in other words increases state eight benefits and the state pension via Lerman critics who claim that. CPI isn't fully representative of what people receive government benefits actually spend their money on and therefore they face bigger price increases the rate at which their benefits increase. But anyway that's politics and we hit about money and I know that they're closely linked. But I really WANNA get into debate. About how lucky baby boomers. Because they're actually going to get a state pension or how lucky millennials are because they go to university or any of that kind of stuff so not no. I think I'll wrap up this episode so they have inflation and not show or maybe that should be in the show but so we get to grips with it. You may find it useful to have a look at what the current rate of inflation is for RPI CPI CPI age and how they've changed last couple of years thing. This is meant for you. You think how this compares to the two percent target or the one to three percent range. What did you think this tells you about the economy in general? Have you got a job if so so have your wages increased since last year. Have they gone up by more or less than inflation does make you worse or better off. Who so check out the show notes for this episode Penny Radio Doc Coach UK because Lincoln there to the Office of National Statistics website? WHO's making a load of mistakes sakes and had a Lotta bad habits. Probably a lot of bad habits that you may have as well for example. I didn't pay regularly into a pension for years. "A little bit of knowledge. It really actually does work. The ethos pretty radio is the same as well. Because I'm I'm going to be helping you to build something for yourself at home from scratch the little bits of understanding and simple tools. That will work really well for you you for the rest of your life okay. So what are we going to talk about on this very first ever episode of Petty Radio. Then what is really important understand. Why money is important in the first place and why it is so important for you to be able to manage your money properly so money. Simple right is pretty around for as long as we have you could earn it. I'll be giving it. I use it to buy things and services that we need or want. So what's so hard to understand about it. Well we are very complicated beings given how long money has been around for. We have inevitably made it more more complicated and arguably it is getting more complicated every day even faster. They did up until now given how much we rely on it. And how much for our lives you spend get it and how much it is related to the world around us. It is important that we break through the complicated stuff off and really understand what we need to know for lots of people. Money is so complicated. It can seem like a different language. But don't worry this alone. In fact I like the majority of people in the country left school without being taught anything about money already. Fun is to apart from the basic math stuff. Like if you're going to shop with a quid and buy a packet of crisps. How much change of I go left the answer. These probably not a lot. Or what did you buy a healthier snack with less plastic. Anyway the point is that it's only the the last few years that financial education is actually being taught in schools and then only the basics without really linking everything up now that's so the teacher's forced the two in my school experience that you spend most of their time telling us to shut up stop messing around and then of course. There's definitely no formal education people people once they leave school. Everyone has to do their way through life making mistakes all along the way which can be very costly like get into expensive dead. Today's holiday guests of still expected to just go out there and deal with it without being given the to do so. Or you can show you how to use those tools. Thinking about money can be scary. Just imagine if I put you on a plane and John. Without even teaching you how to say low as Johnny Johnny. How did you think he would cope. How scary would that be by the way. CEPA Hindi's Zia to Azerbaijani listeners. Out there yet here. We have something that has been around for as long as we have. We don't really know much about so lots of people. Just ignore it and hope they don't have to do with it in fact dread dealing with it when that is probably the worst thing to do ignoring it just like pretending. You hadn't just been sentenced by John would be the worst first thing you can do. A thrust into the world and expected to know things like what's pension is and do. I need one house by House. What all these numbers may payslip mean and getting the right amount but if we don't talk this we saw born knowing this we need to learn how to do these things justice. We need to learn how to speak. We there needs to be able to apply these skills at different financial situations. Just like you play your communication skills to different social sure situations like you probably speak to someone. You've just met in a ball differently to the way you speak to your grandma or at least I hope you would anyway. Now some of you may be asking. Yeah but James. Derby needs to know who this cannot be bothered. I'm sure I can just figure. It's Elsie for knee too. But I think most people do just get through it by trial and error and within this abusive like my parents generation seemed to throw K.. Who They obviously did Baker love mistakes along the way as well. But if you have the knowledge you can planning advance which is a very powerful tool and we don't have to rely so much. lucked financially healthy and I believe financial health is just as important as physical and mental health. In fact they are really linked for example if he awed financially healthy it can lead to stress and even depression which in turn can impact our fiscal health.
