"Doesn't sound healthy. Make him laugh like that. It's always good guy right here just laughing and coughing. I wanna die like that. Dcc donlevatar show with two guys. I think we had cam. Newton going to about fifteen different franchise. Billy has everywhere. Oh yeah lots of options. I agree falcons. Who is matt ryan's backup on. Frank's was the jets backup. Philippi franks release. You see james oregon's backup elite franks. He wasn't that good at florida. Wasn't nope transmitted. Arkansas was good there. he's the he got hurt. In contrast came in and went on. You know ridiculous. Raw jets backup. Is mike white. Here's a quarterback at usf. And then i think is at western kentucky. I take newton. Right now. I would. let's cover. Why not but you but you again. You keep talking about you. Keep talking about those. If he's going to start somewhere he's not starting for the jets ever unless unless it's hurt which you can say good but okay. That's a disastrous scenario worst case scenario. Yes yeah but but thapa but even if he is bad i think he's still starts all seventeen games after he used to changing the vernacular on that to say sixteen games. He still are seven even if he's terrible. You just keep persistent because what you turning to cam. Newton to what. Save your season your seasons already. Terrible if you're to nine with zach. Wilson i just think now more than ever that position is so important. The backup quarterback. It's important so if i'm the jets i'd be perfectly fine. If if cameras willing to be a backup in a situation where Could eventually be a starter The jets is a place that i would love. If he was willing to be a backup he'd still be new england. Good point i'm looking through all the teams just to see what makes it even more. Which makes it stranger as to. Why belcher i think. All of this is strange to me. Kim has to know he's going to get a starting job. There's three teams in my view. Because he'd stay with new england bill. There's there's three teams for me. Indianapolis is carson winston hurt. Is he's right now. They're they're they're backup is jacobson. The texans have to be one of those texans. I agree although there's some more breaking news. The texans is per. Ian rapoport are not expected to trade quarterback shawn watson for today's four. Pm cut down day deadline. Sources tell me at thomas. Pella cerro barring a dramatic turn houston is now positioned to keep him into the regular season at least and so. There's no suspension does shawn watson. Start week one for houston. I doubt he'd be he's not only he hasn't played in the preseason. These barely practiced. I mean he's probably not an in physical shape to start. I saw yesterday that houston would make him inactive if he was on the roster week one and there was no suspension. I don't know if that was an official report or speculation but it seems like the most likely outcome makes sense easy. What's going on. How would you feel about that about the shawn watson. play out in the league. Would how do you think fans would react again. The commissioner is had this in his court the whole time he has that list they can put players on and take it out of that. Because like i mean in some respect shawn watson. Why can't i play you know i. I haven't been convicted. I've like twenty three reasons. I mean those are accusations. You get due process in this country right. You're proven guilty to due process if you're accused of a crime and you don't like immediately go to jail. Due process is always used in this situation. I agree is an employee of company. Who can decide if he plays a game that is for our entertainment on a percents has nothing to do with due process the nfl obviously has its own investigative arm. They can do whatever the hell they want. He's an employee. Nfl doesn't have to wait for. Dupree is not just an employee though is part of a union that collectively bargains their rights. So you can file a complaint. If you're a union member and be like why. Am i an active. The texans would start them. He was available. I don't know. I mean like his. There is a whole dynamic with those two entities even before. That's all these all. These accusations happened. Like they've been watson has said himself he doesn't wanna play for this organization anymore right so there. Is that even before. All the accusations came in. So i don't know kind of which takes precedence. But yeah i mean the the commissioner should have taken this out of their hands a long time ago because there's doubt why is there doubt we can half for the season. I understand you have to investigate things. But he should just be on the exemption team. Shouldn't have to deal with this. I throw it out there earlier. That it's very plausible. He might play for two years if he doesn't play this year because they have them. But they're not playing them and if next year he's on the commissioners list. He's suspended for a year. I mean that could happen. It could very well happen. Yeah you can get your suspension. I mean might you might be in jail right. No but also until then there is this limbo that unfortunately we've just run out of time and that limbo is meant to be solved by the commissioner of the nfl. I don't know why he hasn't right. He should have suspended already if i were Goodell but you were suspended. The shawn watson so yeah. I don't need to just take it out of the coaches an organizations hands. He'll just say hey until this thing figured out. We're doesn't play right. I mean they don't have to wait for the legal system or or the civil system to decide what's going on the commissioner can say twenty two accusations. There's enough here there's enough here. This is an embarrassment to the league. This guy's not going to represent the nfl until his name is cleared. He could do that. Can the commissioner dictate whether or not the texans actually play them. I don't think they can if he's on the roster. They can play him right. No i think the commissioner power he can put them on the exemplifies right right. I don't see him doing that though he hasn't yet waiting for. We don't know this is crazy. This whole scenario is you have. This quarterback is about to turn twenty. Six is a generational quarterback who has all this stuff off the field swirling around him and the commissioner is not doing anything at least not now teams are interested in acquiring him. We're not certain if the texans would or would not start them available week one right. What are ridiculously crazy story. That probably won't have a conclusion in time for the start of the season. I mean the conclusion i think will be. What just mentioned which is that. It'll be an active for week. One and we keep kicking the can down the road right. But that's all that seems to be that there is just kicking the can down the road and you can't trade for right now. You just can't know because you can't give up that and whatever it costs to get him you can't give it up right weighing..

"Is the go. leave it in. Yeah time to talk some cowboys. Where do you wanna go. This is kind of an open. I mean look. I was really i was such a good friend and i really you know. Let you be honest and vulnerable and talking about the eagles. Since you're welcome. This is a safe space. I do wanna talk about the cowboys because you need to have an intervention for multiple reasons. First of all. I mean the thing i mean like. I heard you talk about this on monday football monday. And how. There's conflicting reports between. Tom palacio who clearly works for the league incentivized reporting and also as you did say was around mccarthy. Okay let me let me let me set this story up okay. Just everyone's clear. Over the weekend on friday last friday night which time i've told this story made the same joke is a song by katy perry The last friday night during halftime at the cardinals chiefs game adam schefter jumps on and says you know dax should start week wind. But we don't know he'll fully be back this season because of the latte strain Okay what does that mean you know. Just it's it's vague enough and big enough to you. know he. He threw a bomb into a room and close the door. Type thing And so on saturday after that news nuggets aggregated and talked about and blown up in his the notification that everybody has on their phone Almost in response to your point. Tom from nfl network. Trump's twitter says dak has suffered no setbacks. He's completely on track to start with you on. That was the day of the cowboys. Most recent preseason game and verbiage that he and the cowboys had jerry hat on his pre-game show was that if it was the game against the buccaneers he would have played. That night was everything everybody said. And what i mentioned was that tom pella cerro was the insider who worked with mike mccarthy on the mccarthy project back in the early days twenty twenty he also had an exclusive one on one interview with both mccarthy and dak simultaneously while out in oxnard california. Nobody gets that interview. Generally speaking so my point with that was that he is very close to mccarthy. Yeah but obviously he's very close. I mean i'm just putting that out there like i i. My job is to make sure people have the relevant and necessary information. So i'm doing that here. I just think you're in denial. I think that again to be clear. I'm nothing deck shoulders on the fall off thing is not gonna and he's gonna miss playing time or anything. I just think this is. I think it's more than nothing. It's not a non issue. You can't tell me it's an it's definitely more than a non issue. I agree and we've had so people listening to this show on the blog on the boys network. It's wednesday later on today. You get a new episode of talking to star One of the hosts on that show is connor livesey. He had a really great way of putting it on twitter. Last week His point was generally look. I don't think this is zero percent issue. But i don't.

"Somersaults. Tony politics spaces problem. I mean for any defense. I mean i would love to see the cowboys incorporate. They're running backs in the passing game. This season so you know seeing tony pollard involved. There is really nice. So we've got. Robert says roulston honorable mention nicholson's at an interesting spot because was shavuot being placed on injured reserve. It's now it's now. Nick ralston's job lose. It's either nick ralston or nothing. Right nick ralston or bust for the dallas cowboys. And so i'm i'm being. I'm grading on that curve to be clear here. I had him as a loser. Just because this was an opportunity to really kind of germy sprinkle. I thought to really take hold of it. I would just like to see more. That's all and it's the most mild loser that i had tonight. So that's that's on me. I thought another loser tonight. Hoke we talked about noah brown. We talked about cedric. Wilson committed a penalty. I mean really not helping his chances right now. The best thing that sydney for ho has going for him are his physical attributes his physical assets and those seemingly make him impossible to cut for the cowboys because for fear of being poached for fear of being picked up by somebody. Also that's why you really can't put on your practice squad. That's the best thing he has going for him right now. Now what you can save for he is. He is predominantly played with ben de nucci as his quarterback. So it's difficult to shine in that world. You know so. I mean i would love to see. I would love to see more that it's really what it comes down to for me. Jammie rodriguez my cousin. What's up guys says winter. Your shirt shot people at bulls zirk by the way Sent me this. They made this when dak prescott. i got hurt obviously. Dak prescott is very vocal about About his foundation bulls erc. If you like the caps and t-shirts dak prescott. His off and cnn ables. That's b. u. l. l. z archaic. Free add verbals eric. But they're great people they deserve it so let's see here. Let's go to another winter. Another loser loser. We talked about type of indonesia. We talked about on the causton. Special teams penalties. This is a rare thing. I this is a really really really rare thing. i fourth and thirty house. How does this happen. i mean how. How do you hit fourth and thirty now to be clear here if you did not watch the game on third and long cowboys picked up. I think it was about. I think it was third in one thousand nine hundred and obviously having watched the game at this point but his third and really long and the cowboys picked up about thirteen yards. Maybe sixteen is it was it was going to be come forth and manageable. There's a penalty day. Okay cool so all of a sudden now it's fourth-down blink of an eye bam then what happens. You have illegal man. Downfield gotta punch again. Then what happens. You have a false start. By the way on israel move. I think his the roster safe but like we talked about with a hoke. Oh you don't want to have a single penalty against you if you are a later on traffic. If you're on the bubble in any capacity but we have seen the cowboys look a bit sloppy so far. This preseason period. That's something if you watched hard knocks offensively. The cowboys had to practice the snap. Count and the cadence together at the very beginning of the episode This is just. This is not encouraging again there. Are things that when you when you like. I kind of the preseason like salad That you obviously want to pick things of it. You know you're like oh. I don't want any of the you know i don't know like walnuts or whatever i don't want any of the blue cheese you pick it out that's kind of how the preseason it like to understand exactly what's happening. You have to pick some of the things out so you have to pick out. Some of the benvenuti throws right like some of the you know. They're playing some some backups. And things like that so you have to pick a lot of things before you can ultimately see what the true context is of what you're looking at here and you don't have to do that with these types of things. These these penalties these are. You're talking about legal downfield. You're talking about false. Start like these are things that should not happen. These are basic. You know they're not. They're not contested. Penalties like passionate appearance. These are things that should not be happening in any way. I hope that we see you know a lot. More disciplined from the cowboys wants the regular season. Gets here because that really has to happen. Or else Well we're also it's going to be a reference up. That is what it is so this was kind of a team wide penalty. I didn't want to place it on john fossil but it was what it what's up. Let's see here. Let's get some other highlights. What highlight have we not shown here Well you know what Let's go ahead and let's let's take a step away from the game for a moment because if you read the national media you know obviously there's a lot of great national reporters If you read blogs boys dot com like a genius to be You know that today was kind of the dak day back and forth. Adam schefter said last night's espn's adam schefter during the game between the arizona cardinals in the kansas city chiefs that he did not know if dak would ever be back this season back in full sense. He said yeah. He's gonna play with one. But i don't know if he'll ever be back well. Nfl no tom came in and bam swatted. That down Later on this afternoon said dacca's fine dacca's great dacca's is making progress. He hasn't had any single setback. Now here's the thing here. I admire both of these reports. They're both great love their work. But if you are going to trust the word of one national reporter when it comes to the dallas cowboys. It should be tom. Sarah i wrote about this today. Blog boys dot com. But in case. You forgot tom. Pella cerro was the reporter with mike. Mccarthy and mccarthy's barn in wisconsin. That did the mccarthy project so seemingly mike mccarthy's very close with him once more is a few weeks ago back in oxnard. Tom pella sarah had a one on one Technically one onto interview with mccarthy and deck. He is connected as anybody can be to my mccarthy specifically so if you're going to trust the word of one.

"Roman ready joining us now to talk about the nfl. Espn voice of espn. At this point. Football guy dan orlovsky. You're so cool out guy are you. You might be one of the coolest dudes volta are you on a right now. Backwards hat little hair in their tiny head does those are like a like a little bit of a redneck riviera to be honest with you like. I'm not a core. I'll show you a picture on that corey that they made into like an outdoor blow up. Walter look at this point so thinking. We'll break but i think i see the delta strain from here show strong where are you. Thank you for joining us. I apologize for interrupting that amazing day. You have with your good break but drink i. I assume wrangling ten kids at a water park in lake is much like wrangling cats. I appreciate you dan. Let's dive into it okay. The green bay packers shareholders meeting just started twenty eight minutes ago we saw there was released which we will dive into. Interestingly laid out by. Tom pella cerro stating that. They lost money but they ended up. One hundred million dollars more cash so By the way you and me as nfl players who've gone through a couple cpa's know how big of a deal that thing that just got meeting. Starting internet is it's huge huge rock deal but the roger situation devante adam situation. The last dance photo. What do you think this means. Are they playing one more year. You tweeted this morning if you were the packers you'd announced trading aaron and we're gonna go and move on with jordan love. Is that where you're at in this whole thing. Is that the only way this thing get settled. You think yeah. I've been like that since the day. This news broke. I think aaron is a guy that doesn't say or let anything that gets set about him certainly by powerful people just because i think the reality dude is like the packers want their cake and eat it too like they want okay. We we want to take the quarterbacks of young up and comer will groom. We could sit him as long as we want to. But let's also keep the mvp and and the reality is that just doesn't happen that you you cannot have both sides of that and i do not believe that aaron rodgers is going to allow what has happened over the last three or four months transpire and get set about him and then three weeks or four weeks. I'll you know what guys i'm going to show up. I'll sure i'll play. Gimme what i wanted. And i just think the packers need to come on so you know what we got the best fans in the world and they have been royal forever. We've had thirty years. Think about that dude. They fed thirty years of great quarterback. Play thirty years. Now i think they just got to come to a point and be like. We're the green bay packers. Aaron doesn't want to be a part of us anymore and for that we're gonna move on with jordan. Okay as you were talking there. I was reading in scrolling and getting tweets from tom belisario updates from the shareholders meeting in green bay. Tom belisario the arrow says mark murphy starts by praising brian into ken's in saying he right person lead the football program going forward. One guy from the ground yells. I've never seen him throw. Touchdown mostly mostly cheers. As kids takes the mic. Says tom pella sarah. We have to remember. This is coming from tom. Pella dunes ecoutes mentions. No team had more pro bowl. Players said culture and foundations strong mentions aaron rodgers continuing hall of fame career and winning another. Nfl mvp biggest. Cheer of the day says tom pella sarasota and mark murphy are not on the same page as you. Were a lot of us thinking that this is going to end ugly. They seem think he's gonna stay. He posted that last dance photo with davante adams one more year. What do you think the year would be like if that was what was happening..

"Yesterday three innings gave up two hits no runs six strikeouts so much better than his last time out. You did have the david peterson. Injury needs foot. Surgery suffered a jones fracture walking through the clubhouse of the latest. Odd injury to deal with Gee i heard you touch on a lotta these trade rumors max scherzer and also the report gonna bring the buster only thing but you hit on that so stay tuned met fans could be big names on the way this week by the bryant havi by is or trevor story plus their own expects one of them to be a new york method. That would be great. Deshaun watson reports to texans training camp still wants to be traded but by showing up he avoids fines of fifty thousand dollars per day. Surprise letting them show up. That's a good point and tom. Pella cerro just tweeted out that the texans are now willing to listen and have been for some time to trade. Offers for deshaun. Watson has been for some time. Yeah that's what it says. Multiple sources tell me and rap sheet but the price is high for a player of his calibre and should be likely take at least three first round picks and more. How do we even know he can play three first round picks and i don't i don't know the the other one is going to be green. Bay's aaron rodgers is. He shown up to make the niger's davante adams last dance post on their instagram gun. Guys are thinking about. They are on a very good football team. That that that has a legitimate chance to win super bowls. I don't know what they're thinking. I really honestly just. Apparently they hate bryan good coons. Here's a job. His job is to build a team not to satisfy players and he's gotta make tough decisions blaming i. What for about six or seven years of my career. I was in organizations. That couldn't get it right right and this this guy guten coast is actually gotten it right. And he's got the right coach. He's got the right quarterback he's got the right wide receiver. The right left. Tackle the right running back improve the defense and they've been to the nfc championship game two years in a row. So what is what do we think roger's beef is then because we got the story was not you believe it. He turned down this extension and have made him the highest paid player in the league. So everything goes back to them. Drafting jordan and i it is i mean. Just helping them out which is change though make any sense of a normally. I don't know why getting tired of it because he is getting criticized left and right because there's really no answer that he can deliver that can satisfy most of us that have ever either played the game or cover the game to say what the hell are thinking about. You are on a great team. You have a chance. I think he's going to retire now. Let's take and then come back down the road. So i think he's retiring away no way he's not going to play football issue. No way shaleen woodley are going to go off into the forest. Yeah you guys opposite of everything to fine him and become baton. Monks bet monks and trying to convert people in with airport. And apparently i don't know what he's thinking about either. I know they're trying to power. Play the two of them package deal. They're buddies cy. I've really i mean i..

"The pro. he's joan. Joan is not always good to be here are john. Yes on a day in which we've got some potential major changes in the world of college football. We got training camp starting around the nfl. What is vegas lead here. On this thursday. I think we start with the nfl. And we start with co vid and the vaccination and specifically with hopkins. Because to me. This is a interesting pull. You know there's a political angle to this. There's also a financial angle and there is a betting angle potentially because the teams that don't have the sufficient number vaccinations are i think at a competitive disadvantage. Yeah the nfl sunday long memo out today to nfl teams. It was grabbed by nfl networks. Tom pella cerro and others in talking about their. What will happen is upcoming season if an unvaccinated player test positive for kobe. Anything from a game that will not be rescheduled that will be forfeited as loss to both teams on either side not getting paid but they also did mention that vaccinated player. They will work to try and figure out a way to make sure they can get these games in. But the point being overall they're encouraging players around the league get vaccinated or else and this is the layer and all of that. Okay so this is the time we have to give our disclaimer. Which is straight out of vegas. It's our belief that even if you disagree with the other political side as long as you're listening as long as you're giving due consideration that's how progress is made you can feel super adamant about something but in a way because you feel so adamant is why you've got to take the other side seriously because if you don't or when i say take him seriously you gotta give them their due to give them the right to have the opinion they have you know there's that old saying the you know a burning the american flag is you know i hate anyone that would do it but i would die to defend his right to do it. And i'm not saying that we live in some utopia where it's a you know some jingle realistic idea of like. Yeah we all got equal right. Listen if you are a big second amendment guy or gal you're going to have some strong feelings about it. No doubt about it. And if i if it's abortion a lot of hotbed issues and to me i politically. I'm a libertarian. I mean it really. Is that simple is i think. Stay out of people's business if it doesn't hurt anyone else let them have their fun. Whatever it is. And i also think the government should do what the government does bass and otherwise. I don't want a lot of intrusion in any way. Really you know. And i feel very american to me but i know a lot of people think differently. What know is the cove and the vaccine specifically is politically hot. That there is a sense of okay. The progressives on the left are believers in science. And and i say that with you no little sarcasm. Because i don't think they're the only ones that believe in science. But i think that they they. They certainly follow science more blindly. Feels like sometimes. And the if you're pro vaccine you know it's funny. I got the vaccine. And i never thought about it politically i thought. Okay i've dodge this thing for fifteen months or whatever i want to see i would hate to get it after all that time but i also get the idea that on the other side people are saying. Hey we don't know that you know. This hasn't been tested the way typical vaccine inlets. And i'm no doctor. But obviously see when you warp speed. Something like this was that. There's a chance you could at least have some thought. Hey maybe a step was skipped. Maybe they weren't quite as careful. And if you're a person healthy and you say. I'm weighing my options. I don't think that's crazy now. Gets more complex is the idea of well the very act of you allowing yourself to potentially get it not only affects you. But then you're you're spreading it and thus yeah maybe it's a good and what they're saying they're effectively is the potentially. Something could be a good decision for a healthy person. Not to get the vaccine. But it's not a good decision for society or civilization as a whole that gets really complicated. Because how would you ask an individual if he is suffering. Let's say and we're not saying he is but some people think they would be to get the vaccine so to me. It's a very complicated issue Now when you bring the nfl into it and jonas. I wanted to get your thoughts on. It feels like it gets less complicated. Because it's a business and hopkins could very easily say and it's funny because this isn't the side. I typically take it does feel like hopkins could not play this year. This say the same way that we say. Hey aaron rodgers does have to be with green bay. He can go play in the canadian football league. He can play marina football he. Can you know there's a lot of football leagues the fact that the nf ow is effectively. A business right. it's all. The teams are divisions the business in a way and they all operate together. And the fact that you wanna play in the nfl means that if the rules of the nfl is that you get go somewhere and you've got five year contract or fifth year option that you don't have to play in the nfl. So hopkins doesn't have to play in the nfl. My gut feeling is he can resist it. But it's hard to blame a business for saying we think it's better for our business that the vaccine levels are reached. What's your gut feeling. Yeah i mean. I think the important thing to point out is that they're not they're not demanding that you get vaccinated or else you just can't play. What they are doing though is saying well if you're unvaccinated and you test positive. Here's what's going to happen to not only you but all the people around you and everybody. So they're pushing you as far as they possibly can without drawing a line in the sand telling you you can't play in our league unless you get vaccinated and so you know i still. I think these players are going to be tested quite often the players that don't want to get vaccinated coldeze. Been very outspoken about it. My whole thing is i'm just not a fan of the mob mentality and the would is the mama talent. It's it's there's this this push that we we've lost the ability to just agree to disagree. That's just not allowed anymore and feel feels like you know t to. I just think we gotta stop. Labeling people that either get vaccinated or don't get vaccinated like i'm tired of hearing about people that get vaccinated and the other side. Are you saying that we shouldn't make public or we should have a judgment. It's a judgement more so than anything. So when when somebody decides to get vaccinated. I'm tired of hearing people that are against the vaccine or don't want to get it. I'm tired of hearing them. Call them a sheep or we or yeah. You'll just do whatever they tell you and vice versa. I'm tired of somebody. That's that doesn't wanna get vaccinated. I'm tired of the other side telling them they're reckless. And they have a death wish. Indah pro pandemic. it's all these and it's like the. Nfl is pushing players in this direction. And i'm just fatigued with the whole thing all the way through like i just wanna talk football. It's wears me out this dialogue. You're hearing where there's the recriminations and the name calling is..

"Family? Third. What? Real heavy emotion in the UCF locker room as they could taste. They could taste victory against Duke an apostle birth in the Sweet Sixteen man. That's good stuff. I love when we're able to get a peek inside that is reality television at its finest. It's also actually the same reaction that the whole crew including Chris Brockman had when they heard that. I was going to be filling in for rich is unfortunately, Dan, Halley once again, if you're listening on the radio filling in for rich Eisen, very glad to be here. Talk little NFL. That's the day job over at the NFL network. The NFL annual meeting going on at the Biltmore in Arizona, one of the great great events that you get to attend. If you are lucky enough to work for the National Football League or cover the National Football League. You have every. Owner there used to be called the owners meetings. Now, it's just the NFL annual meeting. But basically all the big brass from every team is there. It's the owners it's the GM's, and it's the head coaches all under one roof. It's where the competition committee will meet to go over rule changes. And we could be seeing some rule changes come to the NFL that could make things look very different. By the way, they've talked for a number of years player safety has gotten to be a much bigger issue about potentially getting rid of the kickoffs entirely. And I think a lot of people had trouble envisioning. What that would look like is it still football. How can you have football without a kickoff? Well, we've been able to see that. Now. Thanks to the alliance of American football there. No kickoffs. They started on the twenty five yard line. There are no onside kicks in Leuven. Onside kick you have to convert a fourth. And twelve from your own twenty eight yard line. And it's it's happened. A couple of times this year in that league. John mara. The only member of the competition committee who did not like the new onside conversion rule that will be put to a vote and instead of fourth and twelve it's going to be four and fifteen I believe from the thirty five in the NFL. So we're going to be talking to Tom Pella Cerro of NFL network. Who's at the owners meetings about some of those potential rule changes? Listen football's not gonna look the same in five years. I don't think the kickoff is going to be around. And I believe that this new football league. The af is the greatest incubator of ideas that the NFL has had since NFL Europe and NFL Europe hasn't been around forever. You know, they have they have skied judge the playoff game between the Rams and the saints that ended in controversy with a with a no call that should have been passed interference. It could be solved if you had a sky judge. That's somebody who was watching every play from up above and in the last four minutes or five minutes of a game. Even if it's a no call doesn't have to be a call. They can radio down to the referee and said we made a mistake that call should have been made in the af they've played seven weeks. And this guy judge has affected. Exactly one call. But if that one call is in the postseason in a championship game and could determine who goes to the Super Bowl it's worth having sky judge why not add that extra official each and every game during the NFL season. Oh, the NFL's news. We we don't we don't have a farm system of officials. You didn't use to? But you do now. You have the af you have outstanding. College officials take somebody put put them in a referee. Uniform put him in an official's uniform put the hat on put them up in the booth put a microphone on them. Like, they do in the af. And let's listen in. Let's be transparent. Let's find out what's going on. So NFL rule changes could become down the pike rob gronkowski going to be a movie star, Brockman, the awesome. He's going to be a movie star. I want to hear from you. What do you want to see gronk do next is he retires eight four four two four rich. Dan, Halley filling in for rich Eisen. He's gonna be in tomorrow. As the show will also be available on Bleacher report for the first time, rob gronkowski retires after nine seasons. Five pro bowls four time. First team. All pro the goat. Tom Brady calls him. The goat among tight ends. We'll be discussing that coming up here in a few minutes. I think the the individual. Achievements for rob gronkowski in a in a nine year timeframe or or unrivalled, obviously Jason Witten because of the longevity. He's had has greater numbers. Tony Gonzalez has numbers that I don't think are ever going to be broken for tight end that. The the number that really stands out for me for rob gronkowski is fifteen point one yards per catch. That's more than that's more than Odell Beckham. That's more than Tyree. Kill who is the fastest man. We've seen in the NFL since Darryl green. That's more than Antonio Brown. Fifteen point one yards per catch for a tight end is stupid. It's insane. When you talk about players that you have to gain plan for opposing defensive coordinators game plan for this guy, maybe more so than any other player including Tom Brady on offense for the New England Patriots. As a matter of fact, you could make the argument. That rob gronkowski was better at his position during his time in the NFL. Then Tom Brady was a his because there wasn't another tight end over the last six years over the last eight years when healthy. That was as good as rob gronkowski. You could still find people who will tell you right now. The Tom Brady is not the best quarterback in football. You can find people that will say he's not the best quarterback of all time. And they're absolutely valid arguments. I remember calling a game a couple of years ago for FOX with Chris Spielman and we were having the quarterback debate. And he said there's no debate the best quarterback in football right now is Aaron Rodgers the best arm talent. And the NFL is Aaron Rodgers. Great middle linebacker, great football mine. Crispy woman says Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in football right now. I would be curious to see what some of the greats think about rob gronkowski in terms of him. Being the best tight end of all time. Rod Woodson hall of Famer what are the great defensive backs of all time doesn't believe the gronk is a first ballot hall of Famer. I don't know if it matters of the first ballot hall of Famer because he is undoubtedly going to go into the hall of fame reminds me of another story from earlier this season during a preseason Thursday night football show for NFL network was sitting with Joe Thomas and ladainian Tomlinson. Before we went on. And Joe Thomas was picking brain LT been in the hall of fame now for a couple of years. I bow hall of Famer well-deserved, and Joe said is there a difference when you're in between the first ballot guys is that kind of an exclusive club Clavell? Yeah. Are you are you getting behind the ropes quicker? Bottle service and LT started chocolate a little bit. Now. What's what's your in your in? You have to wait like Terrell Davis had to wait. There's no difference. Once you're in whether you're a first ballot guy or whether you had to wait for ten years or you're on the veterans committee. Another thing we're going to get to in terms of gronk is Gil Brandt. Speaking of hall of famers, going to be going into the hall of fame and the class of two thousand nineteen has an interesting list. In terms of the best tight ends of all time. And he has gronk at number six on his list. Gil Brandt one of the best pure talent evaluators in the history of the NFL. Now, there are a lot of names on this list because jill's been around a long time that that you may not be familiar with. He has Tony Gonzalez at number one. Obviously most of us have seen him play Kellen Winslow second John Mackey three Jason Witten for Dave Kasper at five and gronk at six now. Casper hall of Famer John Mackey who was amazing for the colts. And chargers he averaged fifteen point eight yards per catch hall of Famer Winslow hall of Famer Gonzalez hall of Famer okay, Jason Witten, obviously going to be hall of famers. Well comes out of retirement, we'll be seeing him on the field again. But. Rockets six deal. I love you. And this list was made prior to this past season. Okay. Now had pretty pedestrian numbers right to wrap up his career. Forty-seven catches six hundred and eighty two yards three touchdowns in thirteen games during the regular season for the patriots. But to put a guy who changed the game. Who in my opinion is the best all around tight end ever put on pads at six on your all time tied endless. I I beg to differ. Gil brandt? You had brought up, Dan. We are in the biggest proliferation of passing we've ever seen in the NFL and gronk played thirteen games. And everyone else and has more touchdowns than everyone else since two thousand ten that's phenomenal. It's amazing. And we know that gronk thought about retiring last year the patriots tried to trade gronk to the lions last year. And he wasn't gonna play unless he played for the patriots. How did it go down? Why did it go down? Peter King has it this morning. In his great football morning in America article. That is a must read on Mondays if you're a football fan. He talked to Jerusalem house Rosenhaus said that. He talked to Bill Belichick and the patriots. You kind of reached out to see where gronk was in terms of his decision to come back and gronk called his agent jurors and house and just said, you know, what it's time. Won another championship. I'm going out on top. I don't wanna do anything for a while. I just wanna have fun. Oh, great. That's what I'm saying. It's the most gronk way. Possible. Retiring, you know, he's been show at he's been doing hot yoga and Miami and going on vacation I'll off season since the Super Bowl, and he just wants to keep doing that and women is best life. I'm sure after doing nothing, but football since he was probably ten eleven twelve is sick a working out. Taryn his body. Yelled at studying film guy, just wants to live his best life. I think it wears on you after awhile and listen, the patriots are the crown jewel in terms of NFL organizations. But I also think it's the toughest situation to step into. There is a very rigid set of rules a certain way in which they do things we've seen it with gronk before he's been in press conferences, where he's been asked about something. And he said, I really want to tell you. But but I just know I can't because I'm going to get in trouble. And now he's going to be able to do whatever he wants to do. He's going to walk away. From the game is a sure-fire first ballot hall of Famer three time Super Bowl champion. Ben Volen from the Boston Globe going to be joining us to talk little gronk to talk a little owners meetings. Potential rules changes coming up in the National Football League our poll question, what should gronk do next? Should he move to Vegas for a year? Have a residency at a club, go, right? Into acting really. Just dump jump with two listening, by the way. It'd be a great investment. You you buy a nice place in Vegas. Okay. All right. The raiders are gonna move there. Eventually it's going to drive prices up. I think it becomes a job. I think partying becomes a job when you live in Vegas, though. Right. I think if every night you're having a shotgun beers..

"Two things on the Anthony Brown situation. I have a feeling we're all gonna go to bed tonight without anything definitive. But I would also suggest you stay with us for the next hour in case, I'm wrong. So if you're just joining us report came out a couple of hours ago from Ian Rapoport that the Steelers in bills were very very close on a deal to San Antonio Brown to buffalo. Q the laughter. Q everybody going. Wow, it Tonio be careful what you wish for then Antonio Brown tweets back fake news. Then he deletes said fake news that other reports come out like Vic Carucci of the bills or bills reporter who said that a deal is actually unlikely and definitely not imminent and Tom. Pella Cerro has sent out a report saying that Antonio Brown may actually. We have the key here because he may threaten to retire. If this deal is not to his liking. And then we've also put some puzzle pieces together in noticing that ESPN, which does the biggest oversight in terms of vetting. All reports has not said a word yet. You better believe that Adam schefters got his four phones. Five phones laid out there talking to everybody in texting and I'm sure he's gathering info. And if he SPN hasn't said anything that means chapter has not been able to find anything definitive as of yet. He hasn't been talking to the media very much for the last week for obvious reasons. The giants have been going through some some difficult public relations scenarios first sure, but he did speak today and a couple of things in particular as he was speaking mid game with the guys on NBC bay area as they're calling the game, which if you missed it, by the way was a five to one win for the as a couple of highlights or lowlights if you want Mark Milan-San gave up a couple of home runs. Both APO taco Tyler Beatty. Threw three no hit innings and now has an era down at about one two and looked absolutely fantastic. Joe panic had three more hits. And his average is over. Five hundred for the spring. So there's some highlights if you missed it. But a couple of really important things for you to hear from far Han Zaidi, he I talked about because everyone's been waiting for the big names that the giants might bring in and it hasn't happened yet. And but a lot of work to do, you know, his Derek Carr, the guy, I know the junk MS spoken highly of his working relationship with car that he does believe in him. But you know, talking to people around the league here in Indianapolis. I certainly don't get the sense that anybody's ruling anything out including them potentially taking a quarterback in this draft one other thing, and I know that you wrote about this reported on this go back to Cuyler Murray in the role that is dad could play in all of this is he one of those helicopter parents hovering here and could that be an issue? Well, then you had Cuyler. On your show believe at one point you rescue dead to chime in for a comment within that interview. And I can tell you credit to the show a lot of NFL people were watching that to a lot of NFL people were watching all the interviews that Tyler Murray did during Super Bowl week. They were awkward to say. The least by Tom. They certainly got the sense that this was not a kid who is in control of his career. And that is not just simply from those interviews. It's also from digging into what happened when he transferred from Texas am digging into the way that you know, baseball has kind of been an influence here. And the fact that, you know, early December Scott Boris is proclaiming publically that column or is completely committed to the as meanwhile, two months before that scouts have been getting asked by people at Oklahoma saying, hey, Tyler's dad's been calling about about the potential draft projections for the NFL. What do you think the guy? I it's not something that is, you know, something that's gonna rule out Tyler Murray or a huge knock on the kid who by all accounts. A very nice kid. He's more introverted quietly back that a lot of quarterbacks. But teams are absolutely gonna wanna spend time with Kevin Murray. They're not entirely comfortable with just with baseball being in the back pocket. "Be like getting touch with the program you can in a variety of ways. Mclovin poll question, we got a great play of the day a couple of stats of the day as well. The NFL descends on Indianapolis this week. It's the annual scouting. Combine you get to watch the forty yard. Dash you get to watch bench presses and cone drills, of course. But the real drama happens off camera after you work out players, then are sequestered in a hotel room. You do interviews with the teams, and you're hit with a myriad of questions then in the bars and restaurants around Indianapolis executives have discussions with agents. And with each other that could shape the off season. And there's plenty to talk about you have potential free agents and lay the unveil Nick foles Antonio Brown. And his future is gonna come up a lot maybe Odell Beckham junior's name comes up. And then there's the owners gonna try to figure out what the league does with Robert Kraft. How would the league discipline him? And would be interesting to be a fly on the wall this week in Indianapolis. We may not see immediate results. But in a couple of weeks, I think will definitely see the fruits of conversations that started in Indianapolis. And I do think that Antonio Brown is going to find a home soon lady on bell may have to wait a little bit. Hand size is gonna come up because there's already a report Hans ICS hand size for Cuyler Murray. I saw this from Tom Pella Cerro. The NFL network. Does a great job covering the league. The latest size question about Cuyler Murray is whether or not his hands are big enough. There's not a quarterback in the NFL that has a smaller hand, then like a nine nine inch hand the span of the thumb to the pinky an NFL executive told Pella, Sarah, they say Cuyler Murray's hand could be eight and five eighths or eight and seven eighths. Now now now you can't spread that rumor he's not going to have a future in the NFL. Just look at his hands. Now, the unnamed NFL scout added he's got a good arm for a guy that size. You do see him at times not being able to spin it, you see it come out pretty good. But if you're looking at the college ball and counting revolutions on the actual stripes..

"How do you spell carousel? Mark. See a are very. It's a tricky. Matt flair has a job. And it's a good one. The Packers agree to a four year contract with the Tennessee titans. Offense coordinator, he replaces Mike McCarthy. Stolen, the Margaret we're gonna get him and a little bit. It's a four year contract Greg with a fifth year team option. Pertemps Pella Cerro. The flare. The Fleur is a man who had a deal with a quarterback that was never healthy last year in Tennessee. But the offense got better special in Derrick Henry started having a bigger role you like this higher for Green Bay? I like that Aaron Rodgers with the different offensive head coach could have been literally anyone the vagrant. No. Because if it was Bruce Arians, I have a track record where I would kind of, you know, have a stronger opinion. I don't feel like leflore in his one year in Tennessee. I'm going to praise him or kill them too much. Has certainly guy that's respected around the league. He impressed the Packers in this interview. They didn't even do a second interview. Despite a pretty wide group of interesting candidates that the interviewed in Green Bay. And I love that. He it sounds like we don't know for sure. But it sounds like he's keeping Mike and most if not all of the defensive snowed moves, I think is a huge part of the equation. Yeah. I'm just excited to see what he does. I mean shows how quickly things can change in the NFL that he essentially lost his job as a quarterbacks coach with the falcons two years ago. He wanted to stay there. Mcvay ended up kind of giving them a lifeline. They worked together in Washington goes be the coordinator there and here he is now as head coach at one of the best most storied franchises league with the best quarterback in the league. He's a mystery. And we'll find out how much he's absorbed from being next to some of the greatest minds on offense in the last couple of decades. Sean McVay he was with him in Los Angeles. But McVeigh was engulfs ear before the whistle. And when the defense had the ball McVeigh was running the offense. So for how much was lower doing there. He's with Kyle Shanahan. When Matt Ryan was an MVP and the falcons went to the Super Bowl. And like you said he wasn't even brought back as quarterbacks coach how much after Shanahan, right? But it could be fair. He wasn't calling the play Shanahan was. And then he gets Tennessee. His starting quarterback has an injury that affects the way he throws the ball and his backup plays in quite a few games. And yet in three or four games with the titans. This year, my notes were this coaching staff is coaching. It's azoff with very little talent. So I'm intrigued by I just don't know quite who met leflore. He was put at a tough situation. Obviously with Marcus mariota shoulder dealing with Blaine gabbert half the season. My one thing with this job. Specifically, you could argue in many have that it's the best opening and the presence of Aaron Rodgers gives you a chance for immediate success. But the last two season show us that the Packers have issues beyond Aaron Rodgers. And there is this notion. That's you fix the Mike McCarthy. Part of it the next coach should just take Green Bay right back to where we thought they were this NFC title game and the Super Bowl and finally deliver on Aaron Rodgers potential. It's like there's a lot of pressure. And I don't think this is a Super Bowl team right now. I think there's talent though, I think there's more talent than maybe any of the other vacancies it certainly up there. I think patent needs to do a better job. I mean they had a ton of entered and injuries. But ultimately, the defense wasn't any better than it was under Dom Capers. I feel like the football senti will stop making a sumptious about the Packers. After the last two years. I think there will be an assumption going to next year. Oh, they'll be definitely in the mix of the Super Bowl because I think they've now proven think they worked at I will wait and say that every year, but I'm just saying I think that there's I mean that offense. Let's be honest. I mean, there's this twelve teams that are twelve fifteen teams before the have shan't, and if you have Aaron Rodgers and some talent and they've got a chance being a favourite. Yeah. But..
