"So Elizabeth Banks is directing a new movie called cocaine bear. And it's based on a true story from 1985. It's a fucking doozy. Back in those days, 85, the head of the height of the cocaine era, a black bear, stumbled upon a duffel bag, filled with 70 pounds of blow. It's worth $15 million. And some forest in Kentucky. The poor bear comes around and says, holy shit, a bag of food for me. You know, they can smell things in mile away. He scarves it all down, and he dies of an overdose. Right near the bed. I mean, he just fucking dropped dead. His body was found months later. Right next to the bag, which was empty. So what happened is the drugs had been dropped from an airplane by a local smuggler. This guy that was once a former comp who was also killed at the hit in his head while he was parachuting out of the plane. And 9 more bags of cocaine were recovered. I mean, Jesus Christ. Maybe I spoil the movie, but I don't think so, because there's a lot of angles to this and they're not quite saying what angle they're going to take. Is it going to be told from the people who find the dead bear from that angle from the angle that a guy jumping out of the plane? Who knows for the cops who went to try to solve the case? I don't know. But it's going to be produced by Phil lord and Chris Miller. These guys did Star Wars story, The Lego Movie, Spider-Man, cloudy with a chance of meatballs. They got a good imagination. But Elizabeth Banks in the director's chair, you know what? I will tell you That it will be airing on the Peacock network. And now the thing about that network are they going to do is Katy Perry going to be the theme song for the Peacock Network? And then there's a dog involved, and there's all kinds of stuff and she makes friends with one of the other. Kids that lives in the same building. Her name is Sherry. She gets stuck in a refrigerator. And the rest is history is cherry. A part of this new experience? Yes. Oh, good. So can you Well know, I'm not gonna make you guess I'm just going to tell you kind of the premise that it's built on. The way that the story will go. It is it will star Soul a moon Frye as Punky Brewster, But now she's an adult. Of course, she is a single mother of three. Trying to get her life back on track. She is divorced from Uh, Freddy Prince Junior, like not in like the character played by Freddy Prince Jr. And not like she. How did Freddie Prince Junior end up in this project? Don't know. But you know what? I love Freddie Prince students, So I think this is an exciting casting. Um And then what happens is she meets Ah, young girl. Who is in the foster system. And Sherry, her best friend who must be like a social worker. Something connects her with this child, and they welcome this child into the family. Oh, it's like she's staring at herself. Oh, you know what I'm saying? So it's like history repeats itself. She's trying to kind of figure out what life looks like as a divorced mom of three brings this other kid into the picture on. Does she fall back in love with her ex husband? Maybe. I don't know. But I will say it's a too like the trainer would be weird. That's what I'm getting from the trailer is that they're gonna like he's going to be part of the story line. But here's the deal. Here's the deal the deal, you guys, here's the 411 on Punky Brewster. This is why I find these reboots kind of interesting because it forces a person who is now grown adult to step back into the shoes of a character that they played when they were kids. And how does that like? How do how do they Embody a character who is now grown up. And from what I can see in this two minute trailer solely Moon Frye. Of course. I mean, she created Punky Brewster, but she keeps the spirit of punky. As an adult, but still is like a functioning adult. Right, so she's not like I think there could be a tendency, especially with a character like Punky Brewster, whose quirky who wears two different shoes on two different feet. Who you know, kinda always saw the world a little bit differently. There could be a temptation. To retain kind of the child like quality and not funny. If she's like, Hey, guys, she comes into your room. That It was a joke. Hey, God, I'm just saying, like if she's a kid, Yeah, if she's trying to play herself, but But there are like holdovers like that. She wears two different shoes. That kind of stuff, you know, you'll see that the character somebody does get trapped in a fridge. Yes, but Cherry made it out. So we're excited about that. You'll only get the 1st 12 episodes but on the Peacock Premium service, which you do have to pay extra for. That's where you'll be able to get all the Other episodes of modern family at the same time, but they're you know, that's the way of the world. Right now. There's no exclusivity anywhere. Or I think we're going to do Apple TV and who? Lulu. I mean, there really is a Mm opportunity to craft something very specific without having have 30 all 30 streaming services. I also think it would take an enormous discipline. But if you are a person who's organized and disciplined, you could actually come up with a rotation because you don't have a contract with any of these things. So you could feasibly have one or two for three months at a time. Then Thursday's episode will run from 1 30 until two and then the very final Alex Trebek episode will run in its regular time slot. At 3 30 today, that's going to seem like a regular episode they you know, what they've done is do a special tribute after the credits at the end of the show, so stay with the show. You know if you're gonna watch it Stay with the show until past the credits. And then there's gonna be a special tribute to Alex Trebek on what will be his final episode since he died last October of pancreatic cancer after Atlanta long and courageous battle that he went through. All right. So before we get to the 30 news, tell us what to watch this weekend besides jeopardy. Well, you know in, you know, I put this together before Everything blew up in Washington the other day. I should have only put comedy scene here. Three Stooges shits Creek. Uh, you know, uh, you know, you named the comedy That's what I should have put in. I've got a couple of those But as it turns out, For this weekend. The movie that I'm giving my highest rating to a Dean's list. A is an incredibly sad movie. It is called pieces of a woman. That is about one of the most horrible things that you could possibly imagine the death of a newborn child during a home birth. This movie stars Vanessa Kirby and Shailagh buff. And the great Ellen Burstyn and Molly Parker. I predict they will all be nominated for Academy Awards. They're amazing. In this very, very difficult movie tow watch. It's very sad, but it's so good and so compelling. You cannot take your eyes off of this movie that the 1st 25 minutes of the movie. And in some ways reminded me of saving Private Ryan. It is it is. It's the labor and birthing scene in this couple's home in their bedroom. And it's nonstop. It's you know, they don't have any cuts in this. It's very visceral and, uh, very, very emotional. Tow. Watch it. The rest of the movie is how the mother, the father, the grandmother, the midwife how the death of this little infant affected everyone. So I mean, even though it Zaveri sad The content is put in context and makes a lot of sense. It really kind of draws it all together, but I'm warning you, it's it's very real. When they show you everything and it's It's very, very difficult to watch. But I still gave it a Dean's list A because it's a great movie. That's the bottom line. For me. It's on Netflix. There is this sort of revenge thriller called Fatale that stars Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy. They are two people that have a one night stand in Las Vegas. He returns home to his wife and his home. The home is broken into a home invader is involved in the detective who shows up on the scene to investigate this home invasion is the woman from the one night stand. On this woman is not going away easily. It reminded me a lot of fatal attraction. I give that one A dean's list B minus. So let me just get to some. You know, some happy things that you watch this weekend to try to make you feel a little better on Netflix. There. I'm sorry on the peacock Network. Now, formally on Netflix is the office.
