"Manager Survey and I love it. If you were starting a franchise today, who is the player you would pick. This year. It's Jaanus. Last year. It's Janas the year before that it was Karl Anthony towns the year before that it was Karl Anthony towns and then it was Anthony Davis. Three playoff series wins you keep telling me these bigs are going to dominate and I don't buy it number one. Two reasons. I don't buy Anthony Davis controlling the league. I, think increasingly, the League is dominated by guys with the ball. Wing players, perimeter players, guys who shoot threes and have the ball, Lebron and Kuwa- and staff, and when he's healthy again, k. d.. That to me is what dominates the league going forward. But number two and I don't think there's anything you can do about this. You are what your personality is and most psychologists will tell you by nine years old your personality is set. They'll be slight variations, but by nine years old. If, you're intense intense and I'll give you an example. Ads Chill. Ads. talented. He's got no dog. He's not going to develop that, and that's what went in the playoffs day. One in the NBA. Magic. Johnson had leadership DNA. He had it through his career. He has it now in. Los Angeles. He is the MIDAS touch for every athlete that comes to Los Angeles. He's a business leader. He is a sports leader, Lebron James I, and the NBA rookie, he was a leader. Michael Jordan first day Kobe I eight relentless Michael I watched. This documentary is still competitive and relentless. He's been out of the League for twenty years. Dennis Rodman was quirky and intense shack was funny. Joyful, playful, and kind of cocky. That stuff is formed when you're six, seven, eight, nine, ten years old, you don't make. You can change your jumper. I'll tell you one of the things that bothers me about. Ben, Simmons. His jumper could get better if he really committed to it I, think what I see though that. I. Don't love. He's a little aloof. He's kind of detached. That for my leader. I, don't Steph. Curry engaged. Totally engaged with all his teammates, you Chris. Paul is a guy I. loved it. Wake Forest Chris. Paul. Screams leadership. He's a pain in the butt players complain about him. But let's be honest. The clippers were a joke. He got there. They were a playoff team Oklahoma. City supposed to be in the tank. Did you watch him? Did you watch the last twenty five games? This may have been the most impressive leadership of Chris Paul's Career Chris Paul Villanova Big Vertical Chris Paul's had injuries. Chris. Paul. Shoots the Mid Range Chris Paul's A. And by the way leaders PISS. People? Off. Like your DNA's your DNA and it had a lot to do more with where you grew up and your parents and your upbringing. I. Don't see radical shifts off that. An ad to me is awesomely talented. Really Chill. Not a lot of dog and that's the stuff I care about with four minutes left. That's what I care about last night. He was great. He's great all the time. I mean, he you get him low block. First of all, he's very good defensively, and then you get him low block and he gets that, but on in his length and his style, it's really hard to stop last night, you know go bare plays for the jazz. Great. Anthony. Can just e can humiliate you. He can really just roll up on you and humiliates you. But I don't see that quality that Kobe had. I don't see that quality. Lebron, had the leadership the closing the intensity i. don't see it. What I see is remarkably gifted basketball player joy Taylor the news. On the news, this is the heard line news. I'll Tom Brady was on the field today for his first bucks practice. It was. Oh. My God. Hold on joy. I'm losing my breath. He's doing the hip thing a little different than backs thing. It's so little. He looks tall and Value Looks Tali to look at him. God. He's just like Radio Training Kim. Looks. Different. In different look at. Look at the staff, look at the. Well. He obviously has a lot of good chemistry with his own teammates. Christmas Ahmet slant pattern. Yes. It's very puts their. Camp He was spotted shouting some encouragement to his receivers can give Inglis Shawn Mccoy a hug, and a fist-bump Mike Evans. So it's apparent at this point in camp. Everybody's getting along. We haven't gotten to the camp fights. Yeah. I'M GONNA. Move back to Tampa. Yeah Tampa is a hot spot right now. Tampa, but maybe that move December you put this on. I'll tell you the skin. If you put this on a network, I have it on all day. If you ninety minutes of bucks practice. I would sit and watch that thing all day long am I not. You know I mean people go to training camp with vans when in normal dime. Get our bosses on the line to set up a camera on Tom and watch for two hour. We'd like to watch bucks training. Put a helicopter over that puppy. Well. They do have the helicopters circling I, mean people do fans going to training camp all the time with your local media. You'll be at training camp. So people do watch training camp. It's not far fetched to actually errol tip on that. All my God. Not like that. It's an honest supposed to be out there with a cane or something. He does look a little different in Tampa though slender. Tan Anymore city hopping. Stop. Okay. This is big news yesterday Dwayne. The Rock Johnson is part of the investor group that has agreed to buy the XFL for roughly fifteen million. I love this. The group also includes the rocks longtime business partner and ex wife, Dani Garcia who first approached him with the idea, the two teamed up with Jerry Card all of redbird capital to submit the bid, which is expected to be approved. Later, this week Dr says, all three will be involved very involved in the league and are working on plans to play. Next season. I Love Dana White Love to Dana knows the whole story Dana People forget this. The got kicked around a lot for Tina's came in with Dana, white bought it for twelve million dollars. It was not easy. They had to get advertisers. They had to shift the rules a little bit. Take out this gouging that gouging. Dana White, that was a fight thirteen family for twelve years. They sold it for four billion. You look at the end with you have seen like.

"Day fighter but yet we should just make a lot of crappy movies women that I miss. Crappy MOMS Moonshot Weirdo eighties and nineties. Movies he just they're not gonNA sorry his old man talk but there's just so many small movies that were just really fucked up and weird and just not going to happen anymore. I don't think I don't think you're GONNA get a Pulitzer today. Well Book Smart Bookmarks Nine Smart Book. Smart bookmark I went. I went back and watched. I won't back and watch total recall recently and I was thinking like that's an example of the kind of movie that that I don't I like I'm not smart enough to say what it is about that movie. That is so weird that makes it so like except for seven right. Yes Paul Villanova. And it's the it's the one where Schwarzenegger gets the memory of the Mars vacation. Yeah it's it's so silly silly movie but also he so horny he's really warning ends like super super well executed but for like I. It's like there's a lot wrong with it but also taking a big swing i. I don't know it's like the like all. The marvel movies are on most senses. The much better movies than total recall. But they're also smooth paste. It's just it's like slurry of entertainment that I don't really remember like I remember every time that Arnold Schwarzenegger like killed someone with a chainsaw and our total recall. I don't remember any events in any marvel movie like say greatly like I was so excited by cats. We're to come out of the studio system and somehow nobody noticed that this was happening so many people had to make decision for this to be the way it is so many people had either affirmatively or passively say this is okay and just got moving through the pipeline. It's incredible like was high. We were all shouting and waving phones. Jennifer or Jennifer. Hudson was singing. It was the Snot all the SNOT. Gosh like she was a different movie and that was fine. The moment when rebel Wilson. Unzips what you thought was her for. That was long. Somebody had taken a phone in the theater and shot that and put it up like the Wiki that we're gonNA came out. I just watched it that loop that over I she eats the roaches and then she gets up and she does and I was like I. I don't know what I'm watching like. I wish they had done it with like they were just doing. Cats cats doing cat movements. But I know it's wholesale is like the choreography but still I would have liked to watch really good. Cgi cats instead of like the weird cat. People HYBRID LIKE HOUSE CATS. Son's house cats quite fully door. I mean I would be on board though it would be amazing. There should be more movies with cats. The shed Max if you got any progress on buying tiger have you looked into that anymore. Veronica was not well but the Tigers bad. Yeah I think I think actually yeah. There is another update it's welcome. I think a lot of people had this experience. I started watching tiger king in the first half hour of watching tiger king. I was like I should get a tiger. It's very attainable for me. Like because they're all talking about that you can go out and get one of these things for two thousand dollars and I was like well Shit. I can get a tiger and then the more you watch tiger king. I think it probably did a pretty good job convincing me. That wouldn't be a good thing for my lifestyle just because it's does not make assumptions. Oh you took it might take away was gonNA get tiger. I'm like that was really. I think a lot of people watch you start watching it and you watch all these people buying when you're looking at the tiger cubs and they're buying them and you're like man that would be. Maybe I should get a tiger. That'd be cool. That'd be a cool interesting thing about me if I had a tiger. Well I if tigers are only a couple thousand dollars slot them. I then downgraded to the sugar glider. Here's what happened with that. It Veronica's not a fan sweet. Little Sugar Glider Name Potato. Cute can no they make sound? That's very upsetting to the Senate hacking hacking cry. Oh and they're nocturnal. So they make the sound all night. I mean that's basically a cat that flies at the baby. And then also the other thing is they they. I was thinking that it would eat berries. Sort of adorable. Like maybe I'd feed it like raspberries they eat grubs and worms and cockroaches and things like that and so Veronica pointed that out. She's like are you going to get the live critters and feed the sugar glider? The by pets your pets. Yes exactly I was like and I was like well. No and I was like. Would you do that? And she's like I don't want it to begin with so I just kept it downstairs. You keep it downstairs potato could just live in your studio. I would still need to have a special container of grubs defeat Chicago in the forceps in that I have to feed the sugar glider. The Oh Max when we feed our bearded Dragon Horn worm. He so cute because we feel it's so cute. You should get that get something you can feed that just moved for the Kerry satisfying well. And when you get something like feeding alive grub to a bearded dragon. There's just something about it. That's very dark and satisfying because they just are still at peace than so happy and just seeing them like rip it apart and it's like oh I just end. I helped end a life but they seem cool. This is actually is actually extremely dark. A Deli -tainer. This is so fucked up. I freely admit this is super fucked up. You get a deli -tainer. It's got holes in the LID. The LID is taped on because the LID. Let me get this right yeah. The LID is actually going to be sort of the floor. So when you turn it over. So what would be the bottom of the bill? Tanner is this gross light brown rudimentary paste. There's a ladder. And there's twenty five tiny horn worms on the little ladder. And they climb up there and they eat the rudimentary paste and shit down into the LID. And then sometimes you and in this Lacob you just keep in the closet and let me leave Yes yes you will soon grow row quite quite rotund giant comedy tweezers. You grab them and then you feed them to another animal. It's fucked up. I'm not I'm not like I haven't I thought about it a lot but I'm not one hundred percent. Sure that the sugar gliders deserves to live more than the GRUB I mean. That's like you're doing. That's a very confident moral calculus if you're fattening up the grubs to feed the sugar glider he feed the GRUBS you've for sure decided that the sugar glider is more important than the GRUBS and. I'm not sure I'm not that sure about Pat. Who only ever had like as an adult?.

"Fascinates me that that happens. I have no idea why it happens but I guess it's because March madness upset after upset after upset so the public rightfully takes advantage of that information and sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't but I think beginning this time of year when we get the Especially a road favorite of one of those four teams playing one of those four teams. If I said that right that would be assigned to bet that road favorite Because it's it's telling us that that that there's no reason for that to really be. There should be more like pick on the fact that it's minus three and you're thinking of my thought process if if I think it's picking my mass says it's pick them and the lines three then. I always assumed the lines right. And if I'm off by three that means the favourite is a team that I want to be on if I play. It makes a lot of sense and especially you know in a conference like that and especially you know you said in the context of getting into conference tournaments getting into March madness things of that sort so for these three games here on Saturday. Marquette Providence Villanova Xavier Georgetown to Paul. And even that we can expand on a little bit more that you do like I like vila-nova and we've talked about Villanova in past weeks. This is a time of year that Coach Jay Wright gets his troops organized. I honestly thought last night. was actually a premium play for my clients Losing One The line with the poll and Villanova looked pretty funny It was four and a half five. You have to scratch your head and think well why in the world is Villanova. Only favored by that. Little amount seems like an automatic home run on Villanova. Sports books were given you away a bonus but my my math was on the Paul. Villanova crushed So with that win being so dominant. I think it's going to carry over to the big game against Exhibitor And they'll they'll come away with a win and a and that's actually recommended that On your article I think. Somehow they'll find a way to win that game in that that one could be a double digit win by Villanova They were very impressive last night. Now Marquette in Providence Marquette is another team that has the potential to win the whole thing In providence is a team that you if you're in the big east you don't want to have to play at Providence in order to do as Seton Hall about that just last weekend when providence knocked them off They have a tremendous homecourt advantage and it shows and they're also on the on the fringe of being a contender in the in the conference as well So that's GonNa be a really tough gave from from our cat to come away with a win and I think you have to go with the home team again meaning again like last week. They took off or knocked off Seton Hall and they're GonNa do it again this week. So that line I think is going to be closer to a pick which is where Seton Hall was. I could imagine providence being even favored by a point or two But my lean for right now is is on providence and then I'll update on the twitter feed If it's a premium play to of course at twitter feed at John Ryan Sports and the number one John last thing I want to ask you about here for this segment. Today as we transitioned over to Sunday in the big east you mention Creighton. A team that your high on a team that some of the other rankings metric systems that use very high on looks like they'll be pretty decent sized favorites Butler on Sunday afternoon. Any thoughts on that game. Well it's more of the same song I've been sitting here for about the last ten minutes Is that your Butler is a very good team in their own right. And there's no Gimme win here I do think Crayton is the play here For the simple reason of that. They're the better team Not by leaps and bounds but they are the better team both sides of the ball. They're playing well and we're coming down the stretch and I think criminal will get it done and you think they're like six or seven point home favorites Adam. I think that's probably what the range for this line. Kind of looks like especially because you get great in that. Jump shooting teams. We've talked about before their numbers. Just always annually look better at home than they do on the road so you give them a little bit more home respect here. I think too I agree. And then the last game Seton Hall of Saint. John's is This has to make sure they don't look ahead of Kaz. Saint John's has been has been struggling. But we've also seen Saint John's stunned some teams this year too. But that's a game where I would have to think Seton Hall be a double digit home. Favourite.

"It's it's amazing and that wasn't sure Amazon prime it was on Netflix for a little bit yeah streaming on Amazon prime but it's the same directors and it's just it's it's just a panic attack of a movie and it sounds like Adam Sandler looks next level yeah. I miss seeing dramatic Sandler. He killed it in Punchdrunk love. This is dramatic sandler but with like a really big sandler s character turn. It's it's not like subdued dramatic Sandler in punchdrunk. This is like that people people are saying Oscar Buzz and apparently I heard the description of his character. Stay whirlwind bad decisions every decision. He makes us the one it it. It looks really. I'm bummed that we have to wait for December. Co Star in it is Adele Disease Commission. Yeah please welcome. The wickedly Gidley talented one and only does the does does the does does the does the yeah yeah. We have a lot of fun with a lot of sounds sounds here Jesus Christ. It's loud plan that classic part of the classic quote. Oh Yeah do you guys remember Al.. Pretty well member of that quote. You say that you'd rather phrase. Where's the catch remember that you don't anyway to get back on track a little bit. Let's talk about just really quickly kind of like whatever movies at fantastic. Oh mytalk will you guys go first and then I'll okay vast the vast of nights coming to Amazon prime and it's a sci-fi twilight zone esque adventure between a two teenagers in the nineteen fifties hearing a signal over the radio and trying to figure out what it is it's great and it goes full twilight zone with that Joe Jo- Rabbit. You guys know what it is. I really enjoyed it and I think I throw dolemite in there because of how much of a surprise it was cool for me. That's a tough one I might say Dolemite Jelica to which was this Indian in landlocked Jaaz described which bear unfair comparison but basically in the in the small Indian village a buffalo gets loose and just starts wreaking havoc which is bad but what's worse is that every man in the village decides. They're going to be the one that gets it. So by the end of the movie you've got hundreds of sky's roaming the village wreaking havoc trying to kill his buffalo. I think the the person there's like eighty different characters in the movie. There's four that are actual actors and the director had like eighty people to be like okay now do this then. There's there's a scene at the end. It probably wasn't done with C. G. And it's like how just human bodies flowing Africa you like a lot of it is like 'cause I saw it to a lot of it is like you can't tell l. what CG and what's not and the bowl like havoc is like really well done yeah and the effects are pretty amazing and I I say this one and the next one mostly because they're movies that I didn't have like huge standouts but mostly these are movies that I would not have been able to see any place else. My last one was but boy which which is almost impossible to describe if you haven't seen it so yeah what was the what was the inciting exam he he's he's like a prostate exam and then discovers the ability that he he just starts putting stuff up as but he likes to to put the Tartus actually one hundred percent one hundred percent because there's like in the first ten minutes easily like it starts with bar soap and then he like looks at a dog and then the dogs guard and then and then he looks like a serious tone Oh yeah and then and then he's a baby in the park and then suddenly the to the cops trying to find the baby and everything and if flash forwards fascist Ford nine to five years. It's a little cutout card says nine years but the time is a little dubious and a cop ends up trying to five figure out. What's going to solve these disappearance like David fincher movie. The bill like the lives like a scene like there's like a scene from heat where they're in a diner together there and like no one knows anything yet but like you can tell this cop is somehow related to what happened like all those years ago when things started disappearing and it becomes like a manhunt manhunt to find this guy and he finds at crime scenes he finds a little like Dingle Bayer. He's he's. You know it's amazing. It's so well done right left and I watched a movie about a guy who showed up and I was so angry with my friends. I'm not upset when I saw it just angry at the premise and how well they'd get it. It's funny because my favorite scene in the movie is hasn't typical like the chiefs like. Are you telling me that this is what's happening but because of the premise you're one hundred percent with the chief like he just lays out. You're telling me this guy. Sponsor is shoving stuff up and they jesting them inside. The cops like well. I don't know about about the digestion situation but I do think it's making some sort of sci-fi or magic element there sure. How is he putting things in there a after they came out after he's like to see it. I want to see a really bad. Suspension will find you debriefs fantastic all of us to is that there's like a there's a ton of movies like that where you're just like. I don't know what I'm getting into. I see a synopsis and I go. I hope I get it and then I go see it. Can you read it and you're like okay. I saw that three my three were definitely Gioja Rabbit and then I saw this documentary called you don't Know Me and O. M. I. A and it's a documentary like crazy amazing hilarious deep dive into showgirls the movie Shogo. I saw something about that. Yes yeah so good because it's just like the person is just like I know it's the worst movie ever made but it's also the greatest movie ever made and I'm GonNa tell you why and it's just like this crazy really funny analysis of like every scene and how Elizabeth Berkeley's characters just like complete she just flies off the handle at any moment for no reason and they just just like a super cut of her freaking out at people and like it's just this really funny shit and they also had a brown rice and vegetables eating contest before the movie movie because in the movie they keep mentioning that because they're strippers they're only diet is brown rice and vegetables and it's just this weird thing they keep bringing up up in the movie and it's just it's Paul Villanova and so it's like fucking bonkers and not really about what it's supposed to be about right but but yeah it was great. I loved it and then my third favourite. It was deer skin which the first hour of yeah flights or miss the rest yeah. It's the Guy Quinton do do pugh do peo- oh or depot or something rector of of rubber tele kinetic killer tire yeah. This one's crazy because it's basically about this guy hi who buys a deer skin jacket and then realizes that his dream is to be the only person in the world with a jacket so he sets off to kill Hill everyone and take their jackets so weird so that he can have the only Japan world fucking so funny and it's so fucking weird and it's just like really amazing. Shit okay the one we missed. I'm really bummed about because he got a crazy history. After it was released way back in the sixties was V. I think as VFW they'll VFW Jerry I found footage movie ever made wanted himself and he w was that post-apocalyptic movie okay so it's a different one but there's somebody else made this very. I found footage. Movie tried to release it. Studios didn't know what it was and the only real zee half of it burnt down in a fire late year somewhere in the sixties and but at a certain point someone found a vhs the originals are gone just a VHS exists and and somebody online took it cut off the credits on the front end and they uploaded as will basically the movies about a F- a family birthday party and then they'll get abducted by aliens but it got cool loaded. Reading people like this is a real a real artifacts. It circled for decades real evidence of an alien of actual deduction. That was filmed yeah. Yeah that's fantastic fast so real quick because two of Sam's choices were streaming movies. How About Yours Dome. I was one the other two. I know Steve New years where Joe Joe's coming out to theater so you'll see that soon. I have no idea but it's an interesting commentary on just don't now in the current state though right like some some of the best movies you saw aren't going to be theatrical releases and stuff you saw we're. GonNa see digital. Fantastic is like it's kind of a grab bag of whether you see them. If you see something when you really like whether you'll ever see it again because a lot of these movies don't have distribution yet google and so they're looking for distribution. They might not find me. Hope people talk about life life hoping to your skin out some pretty sure I wanNA see the rest of it of socially rubbers such a cult hit assure will see speaking of that actually mentioned him on podcast. I went on goosing Eddie's podcasts and I mentioned my all time favorite movie as fantastic fest and the person who owns the distribution rights to that movie reached out to me and we're gonNA keeps me updated. Whenever it comes to Erica I can't buy it. It's called three football and soul. It's Fan. That's the one I was just talking about yeah so it's and it won't ever come here but the person emailed me and was like hey. It's going to be at a film festival in San Francisco. If you want to go see it. I don't want to go all the way up there to watch a movie but like watch one movie back we felt the same way about Anna in the apocalypse which so fantastic fest like a couple years ago last year or something and that was one of those movies where it was like. Oh Fuck. I love it the music so good. It's really good. I WanNa see it again and then you're like I. I don't know if it ever ever came out and it is out now. Primate thing yeah I went to Acuna with the whole crew and task at the arclight and they were great have you guys haven't seen an on the apocalypse that's on Amazon prime. Um You should check it out highly recommend but to your point like did you see Balata Buster scruggs the Coen brothers most recent mom some of it. It went straight to net flicks and they were like yeah. We don't even really bother talking about because nobody would want to make it and stuff like like dolemite that you should just be a movie yeah. You're an and so now what movies that were just used to just be able go see theaters..

"All right well first. Stop Welcome to the mentors for military show here. You are all big. You just came off the Jaakko willing show so this is small time small fry compared to him for sure but we appreciate you coming coming on the show nonetheless because I think this show is going to be what I would term. Maybe is a mega episode. I don't know I I would kinda see how this pans out but I say mega episode because typically John. Our shows range from about forty minutes to about an hour so you know we're just GonNa go with this thing. See where it takes us but there's a lot of great information nations stuff. I want to dive into from your history so again up to the mentorship military podcast. Well thank you sir. It's an honor to be here and my time is your time. You've got me excited about your program. Always glad to talk to anybody who's interested in our history from our little dirty war. Yes I want to go into just that because we take you you all the way back to. When you first came into to the military where were you at how did it all began and why was it that you decided to go into the army for our branch and then later into special forces. Well it all started with flunking out of college. It took me two years to flunk out of college. I flunked my dad's sent me a letter working up in your seventy the National Forest Nasa Park and he said you did it. You flunked out. They're gonNA come draft you and and went down the list of the couple apple must later. I got home and are listed for airborne on signed got in with Ait Jump School when special forces just training and then after that we had a little RT training radio teletype before we went to Phnom and we landed in Vietnam dithering country training at the end of this a heyday. There's a special project anybody WANNA volunteer. Johnny McIntyre said. Why is it sorry. We can't talk if you're instant sign up. We did welcome to McAfee Saad so I WANNA get into Mac v SOG but before that I went to Kipp back just a little bit because we're talking about an eighteen month timeframe here basically from the time that you win and I it was December two the following December. You had completed your basic training airborne qualification your cue cores in about six months after all of that which was the following December six months after that and say may June of that year the following year you went to be dom I mean this was. This was a really really fast paced. Training we chit training at Brag was quick and then we had twelve weeks of radio teletype which was was from January through March of sixty eight. We had a month leave before we went to Vietnam. We landed in Vietnam at the end of April all sixty eight in your case. I understand too that I am. I correct in a stadium. You're an e too. When you went to Vietnam. Yes we are proud got demoted from Private First Class to private he do and you've got to share this story because it's pretty pretty fascinating when you went into the band so you go see the CEO and what what happens at this point the old male is only maybe twenty three twenty four years a new butter bar new lieutenant and we were down to temporary duty and they hated us. We hated them and so but period of time he called me in. I had eight Article V teaser easier everything for being late for formation being disrespectful so he said pick one so I picked one crumpled up and threw it at him he said now you got nine line and so me a giant. McIntyre we we had our stripes torn off ignonimously and then we went to Vietnam privately Deuce so I came in the the military in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine went off to Osa one station unit training basic gay. It Combo for combat arms the following year in one thousand nine hundred eighty and I still remember the term especially from my father because I was a Navy Brat of Zipper stripes so this happened happened. Frequently in the sixties and seventies you know work is would one day be one rank. Did you know they take them off. Sometimes they'd Velcro the damn things on honor they call them. Zippers drives because you might as well go zipper mom because you're never gonNA keep them for very long at south perfect yes of course I don't even know Velcro Felker was around at that time frame so up. I want to get back into Vietnam a lot of people you know. I got to thinking about this. Most of the people today that are fighting in this war John believe it or not are of the age where they're great. Grandparents may grandparents but possibly even great grandparents are the individuals who fought in the Vietnam War. That sounded crazy to me. I know that sounds crazy to me but you're I hate to say it but you're I. I just found that so fascinating so I thought well you know. Maybe we ought to talk about not just a Vietnam more but we're also going to get into your special unit but the Vietnam War was something that in our country entered into before us in Vietnam the French tried to stop stop some of the stuff that was going on by the time we got engaged. Things are pretty heavy yet the human trail cover and a lot of your books that was just starting to come together Arbil. I think our government was trying to deny a lot of the stuff that was going on. correct me. If I'm wrong anything I'm saying so far well we did support the French. We were there with them. Supplying both in air and I guess some technical support and a when they got feed it there was a period of the time when the people in North Vietnam and had a choice they could go south and the people who lived in the South could go north. Well thousands of people left North Vietnam Vietnam to go to South Vietnam of course included in that way Viet Cong but there are people who generally didn't want to be with the Communist so fast forward to when I land in Vietnam I have Vietnamese of my teams. They knew their government was corrupt. They preferred a corrupt government in South Vietnam to a communist government where take away all your rights and can kill you and just throw you away in jail forever or whatever and Dan you know when they talk. I can burn the folks they talk about who she men the boys of North. They'll talk very much about their the way they treat their own people killed them off the way mail did. Stalin any good communists. That's the way they worked but people forget that side of it and our guys knew it and that's why they were fighting communism and that's why we were there and you know just lucky to be here to talk about today. Yeah no live I mean and this was a very different war and very different type of communist fighting like you had said because what I'd like to do is really create that fear environment right absolutely yes. Sir Fear temptation do it our way or we'll tell you know in in so in the introduction of your books chronicles volume one and you start off with for our readers unfamiliar with the Vietnam War there was a deadly eight-year secret war fought outside the conventional war it was fought by green berets in their indigenous troops troops in Cambodia Laos and North Vietnam from nineteen sixty four to seventy two run under the ages of the Military Assistance Command Vietnam studies observations his group or simply. Sog Saad chronicles volume one is a nonfiction nitty-gritty story about the mini fought in the secret war hidden from Congress the nation fellow soldiers Vietnam and their families. If a saw green beret died in Laos a received the medal of honor stemming from mortal combat in Southeast Asia their families and the nation would be told told they died in south Vietnam or received America's highest award for Valor in South Vietnam not in the actual countries where the combat occurred sock Doc ben went across the fence in sterile fatigues with no dog tags no form of identification no photos of loved ones or any detailed information that would indicate they were American Erkin. Why because it was a secret war. Our government needed plausible deniability if any soldiers were killed or captured by any communist forces so this was this kind of the world that you guys you volunteered as you said for this. Is that secret you know type of missioner's setting that. Sargent came out and ask for the volunteers correct. Yes Sir so I mean. When was it that you guys realize that basically this was almost your typical suicide type missions that you guys were going going to be running? Did you guys figure that out as soon as you guys realize where they were bringing you into it. Just start signing these documents that said hey listen. You can't tell anybody at what point was. It was like the crap man. What did I just volunteer for well. We weren't quite that quick but when we had gone through training group there were guys they're men. Green Berets who told us they've been via knocked two or three times several of them and they all had purple hearts and they all said you go to Vietnam do a traditional camp. Dan Special Projects do not volunteer and get the first tour under your belt you like being an SF to think about the projects but the casualties are bad so so the movie was out the book out for a few years that song had been out so McIntyre nine a few of our buddies we went through the country training. Which is I forget the two three weeks and at the end outcomes the guy. We got like scenario so hey. We're like we're with the program. We've been watching World War Two movies. This is an opportune. We're inside Wayne Green Beret. Yeah Yeah Yeah this. Is this the cast meows. This is like what would they do do do. We know what the Duke would do to go so we're gone. We raised our hands and the next day we had the briefing up in Danang and you know we signed a document before we got briefed. The documents said you will not talk about this. You cannot talk about it if you do. You will be prosecuted. Federally Sakai got your attention and the other side bar on that which was really for all of us that were communicators that did Morse code code did radio stuff we have been trained by Sergeant First Class Villanova Paul Villanova who had three tours of duty previous to us and he had trained us like in my case. We got recycled on Morse Code. He was the sergeant huge stayed on nights. Weekends worked with US got.
