New york <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> minutes rather <Speech_Male> than hours from <Speech_Male> the house <Speech_Male> is franklin canyon <Speech_Male> <Silence> which is just <Speech_Male> beautiful <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> yeah <Speech_Male> so serene. <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> also <Speech_Male> going to the <Speech_Male> beach. <Speech_Male> That's getting the sand <Speech_Male> amount <Speech_Male> that that's not my thing <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> ocean. Sound <Speech_Male> my thing either. It's <Speech_Male> i <Speech_Male> always tell my kids. <Speech_Male> Nobody's ever <Speech_Male> been bitten by shark <Speech_Music_Male> pool. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> you'll stick to the bike ride <Speech_Male> bike <Speech_Male> riding <SpeakerChange> on the beach <Speech_Male> last <Speech_Male> question. I know you have <Speech_Male> a son. In <Speech_Male> his twenties. <Speech_Male> You also have three <Speech_Male> younger kids as well. <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> have a two <Speech_Male> year old daughter. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> What is your <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> best parenting <Silence> advice <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> you've been given <Speech_Male> or that <Silence> is an original <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> to you. <Speech_Male> I said it earlier <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> you lead <Silence> by example. <Speech_Male> Kids <Speech_Male> can listen to what you <Speech_Male> say. But <Speech_Male> they'll see what you do. <Speech_Male> And <Speech_Male> that's the strongest <Speech_Male> impression <Speech_Male> you can make <Speech_Male> his. Is <Speech_Male> them <Speech_Male> following what <Speech_Male> your actions <Speech_Male> are rather than <Speech_Male> what you tell them to <Speech_Male> beyond <Silence> that. <Speech_Male> I just <Speech_Male> think it's important <Speech_Male> to teach <Speech_Male> children <Speech_Male> the importance <Speech_Male> of morality. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Not just legality <Speech_Male> people get <Speech_Male> so concerned with <Speech_Male> what's legal <Speech_Male> and illegal <Speech_Male> and i go. <Speech_Male> What's moral and immoral. <Speech_Male> There were things <Silence> that are unethical <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> that <Speech_Male> are within the boundaries <Speech_Male> of the law. <Speech_Male> I think that <Speech_Male> the most <Speech_Male> important thing you <Speech_Male> can teach. Your <Speech_Male> children <Speech_Telephony_Male> are <Speech_Male> ethics <Speech_Male> and morality <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> the best way to teach <Speech_Male> those <Speech_Male> is <Speech_Male> by not only <Speech_Male> saying <Speech_Male> your thoughts <Speech_Male> to them but to <Speech_Male> to them seeing <Speech_Male> how <SpeakerChange> you <Speech_Male> implement them <Speech_Male> and i imagine given <Speech_Male> the career <Silence> you've had <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> the way you <Speech_Male> you could treat <Speech_Male> people giving <Speech_Male> your place in the rock <Speech_Male> world <Speech_Male> probably treating <Speech_Male> people with kindness <Speech_Male> and respect when they come <Speech_Male> up to you on the street or <Speech_Male> at. "You're holding up the cobb he but it's a it's a beautiful thing we've never sung about anything except celebrating life about going against the odds about self empowerment things that to some people over the years seemed trite. But they're timeless and that's why some of the bands that we grew up listening to or were out when we first came out our dinosaurs in the sense that what they were either doing musically or lyrically is just gated dam. We may sing about things that some people think of corny but there the cornerstones of a great life well to to finish up all. I have a few standard questions. That are part of the supporting cast. They relate to la We are known for our movies our food and our climate so a few gets no you questions. What is paul. Stanley's favorite movie. I would have to say using years ago. I loved zorba the greek coins. But i would say that my all time favorite movies would probably be forced gum or shawshank redemption right once. Yeah good good movies with a lot of soul and a lot of hard life affirming. Yeah i remember going years ago with an actress of mine to to a movie and when it was overrun. That's it and she went. Yeah you know. It's a slice of life. And i go by live life. I wanna live life. I don't i don't wanna see some guy. Smoking a cigarette and cheated on his wife away. Entertain me blow something up war. Show me how great life is. But i just a you went to the grocery store and then he came home and not for me. Thanks so i would say those films. On different days i would. I would mention one or the other. But they're both just terrific. What's your favorite meal in. La it can be at a restaurant it could be something You and aaron make home. My kids my four kids. They'll laugh laughing. And sodas erin. Because i'll make something and sit down and go if i had this in a restaurant i'd order it again. They think about everything. I make but it's not true but there's a joy in making something and sitting down and eating going. Wow this is great. So i have to say that a couple of nights ago but i made a rigatoni i can give it to you in in As far as the ingredients. But this is not a matter of just slopping it into a pod of adding things into the pan and what have you over time so was mushrooms and olive oil and fresh basil and rosemary and oregano masala wine vegetables stock plob- and chilly some fresh tomatoes butter and a little bit of cream and parmigiano reggiano. It was crazy it was. It sounds amazing. It was so good. And i had to send photos to all my chef friends from food network and that kind of thing just to get their assessment. I enjoy cooking. And that's not to say that i'm a. I'm a chef. Cook big difference. Yeah yennin great chefs from me to sam chef. I tend to say a couple of them. I probably cook as well as you play guitar. What's your favorite place in. La could be part of or a specific location..

"Eisen and from a nice jewish boy from new york. I don't know about nice of you. Know what a jewish boy from new york and my mom was. She came here during the war during world. War two they fled the german. My mom was born in berlin and Since then i've gotten records and accounts from historians over there who did research. What they went through was not only mind boggling but would make a film my My grandfather got a call at night. That family was going to be arrested in the morning and they literally packed all the old clothes. Nothing new took their car which was a new car or fairly new car. Drove it to the train station left it. They're separated went into different cars of the train and traveled little by little and made their way to amsterdam and then ultimately fled from there but That's my mom story. My dad was a first generation. Here's parents were from poland and As far as my name. I always hated my name which was really funny and I used to say to my parents when i was little. I don't like my name and they would say. Oh when you get old. Change it if you want why. I don't think that they. I reminded you take it literally. Remind them you said. I think it's very interesting because people say well. What's your real name. And it's an interesting when Somebody was say that. Because your real name is what you choose. Your given name is somebody else's idea. So if the to correlate. I mean if the name that somebody gave you name that you like then as we say mazal tov. I don't think i've ever said that before but now a good time to say but in my case it never felt right. And i've been paul stanley far far far longer than i was ever. Stanley is and of course. The stanley is from your first name. But paul is in part because of paul mccartney yeah Paul mccartney paul rogers Another great singer it was a succinct name one syllable name with a two syllable second Or vice versa. I believe to have moniker. That people would remember and not to shun ethnicity but a little bit more homogeneous You know Let's i kid ourselves when you when you're a product whether you're an entertainer or what have you you want to name that that that works and so you grew up. What part of new york did you grow up in. What was your parents profession. I grew up. I two hundred eleven th street and broadway which is all the way uptown. It almost it. "I think that there's no substitute for time and Time builds trust and time also allows you to see what is possible. And what's not possible for somebody so if over time you don't expect something unrealistic. You're not disappointed but In jeans and my case we've been together since we lived at home with our parents Which i to get to. Yeah and we've made amazing lives for each other. And i think we're more thankful now than ever but The bond we both had was see since that hard work is integral to think succeeding and There are no shortcuts and you deserve to be paid. What you're worth for the work you do. And we're hard. Workers were survivors in many senses and time only seen us grow closer. But i've never thought for a minute that we wouldn't be together and the band to me has always been at the core of Certainly my life shares a space with things that ultimately are probably more important or should be more important family and friends. But it's availed me a lot of great opportunities. And i think that if you don't realize how fortunate you are then you don't deserve that good fortune and i think everybody in the band shares that eric. Our drummer has been inhabited. The band primarily in. He's been here twenty five years. At least and tommy's been in the band for about seventeen or eighteen. So yeah there's a real strong work ethic in real strong pride in what we do. We've built something on a foundation of entertaining and giving people their money's worth and Respecting our audience and the band i think resonates and carries at ford now probably more than ever. We have a lot more to live up to Whatever legend there is of us in the is what we carry onto the stage and when people see us they they have a big anticipation With going to see and we're we're proud to live up to that. Yeah and you carry a lot me. Look five hundred people to build build a stage. You have a lot of folks who you bring with you on the road. who who. i'm sure are working very hard and I'm sure that work ethic permeates the entire tour and the entire show. I do think so. I think as hard as people work around us they invariably come back over the years. And i think it probably has to do with. I don't ask any thing of anybody or a quality of work from anybody that they don't see i expect for myself and It's one thing to push other people to work. But i think you lead by example and when people see how much dedication there is by the band and how much it matters to us. Then it matters to them. Well i wanna get to kind of your foundation and So you grew up in new york. I did that right. I did that. And you were not born paul stanley though. I wasn't as what your birth name. "Lowry national review coming up at seven forty famed defense attorney Joe taco Pena coming up at eight forty v rock and roll pants out. There the lead guitarist from the band kiss poll Stanley will be here at nine twenty five and have no idea what he's while. He's coming on Joe with tongue out. He has a book, by the way, it is already laid out. It is that time of year Shokhin light early. It's two days three days away. From may. I and yes, the light is out. Yeah. Ones. Tried weight may still be a Wednesday. So he's got a book coming out Paul Stanley tomorrow drops. Hey, yeah. You is due to make my kids are trying to get me to be more cool like when I text listen booking, Paul Stanley. That's very ain't gonna novas not that with your kids today with them. They make fun of these guys. But but kisses a huge bands. You gotta admit that. They. Were over keeping an gene Simmons book and poll Stanley. And when I do people like, wow. People like five people. Fake. Oh, crazy including chat kid doesn't care. Yeah. I'm sure he does. How much money you wanna bet? Whether or not chant listens at nine twenty five this morning at poll. Stand living we had gene Simmons three times. It was wants to meant. He's an asshole. Is a smart guy. Annoying impulsivity gonna be annoying, but we'll keep booking them. He may get as freely. Chris next you'll going to tell them. Yeah. You're gonna tell them I'm going to wait because he might not be by the way, he may not be the last time we had a big time guitarist on David Navarro. He was brutal. He went after me. And sits for me like I was girlfriend. That's true. Yeah. That's true. He did go after you. It was a very silly exchange. Yup. Nice Jewish boy from New York. That is true. They're all nice Jewish boys. I don't know if as feely was Jewish that doesn't sound very Jewish. No. The may not be his real name. I don't know. David. Temple you going tonight as well. We got a lot to talk about talking about temples nice Jewish kids and couple of things over the weekend. That were just awful the shooting San Diego and the New York Times, they gotta take a beating on this show today deserve it beating today, and my brother-in-law, Harry hope you're listening because everytime you send us a column about Donald Trump. You get up in the New York Times and of your Jew, and you continue to read this paper this story that came out this weekend. And this cartoon, or you're just a pathetic you another else to say about it. I mean, they have really been exposed only for the billionth time to be a very anti-semitic newspaper. Very now, the whole anti Zionism thing is definitely morphed into anti-semitism. Yeah. That's that's existed. I right. We'll get to that. But we still want to revel in what we found out on Friday. We talked about this late in the show. You may not know, but the burning seed in the morning show won in the category for outstanding morning show for two thousand eighteen which of course, will be awarded this Friday in two thousand nineteen at the fifty third annual awards for excellence in broadcasting, it's hosted by the New York state Broadcasters Association, the big luncheon will come up this Friday at noon at the Press Club, which is on eleventh avenue, and I forget what what street someone the thirties. Right. I really don't know beyond the thirties eleventh avenue, so we we win the best morning show in New York on Friday better safe neighborhood. I don't think so I wouldn't go, but I'm going to go. And I think Craig swamp is even going which is very nice program. Yeah. I think I'm gonna go myself. Thank Craig swamp. The really nice Email. He sent out to the company you got one. Are you kidding nothing? Not an Email. Not a piece of cake, not a smack on the back. I've run and cake today. No, I know Craig was winning but some graphic late fighting Anthony set them going to send something out. He was waiting with some graphic. But it's too late. I know the awards Friday. So it's not really too late. But to announce something three days after you win doesn't it seem too late burn? Well, it kinda does to me. I was wondering about myself last night. But when you think about it's only one working day. Yeah. So maybe things one working day for you today. Thanks tend to. Four hours they sent to get buried over the weekend. That's in government down in Washington DC, they call Fridays document dump day because people don't pay attention. So maybe it's better that they wait till a Monday because everybody will see it now because they don't know their Email everybody on a Friday afternoon. Seven people that still work here. Well, yeah. Those everybody everybody that's still works. I did send it to some important people in the business. So maybe some publications today. Right. I sent it like Harrison. Right. So hopefully, right. But the problem is he really can't do that. Because there's like a thousand hordes given out and why would he just hours? I know he likes us. Ours was a one of the more one of the biggest awards all they were given out. I mean, a lot of lot of the woods refer segments was the outstanding morning show and the dates go from if I'm not mistaken March of twenty eighteen till March twenty nineteen. That's right. So that's a huge honor to be the outstanding the outstanding morning show out of all shows in this city with some of the past winters that they've had in the past Elvis Duran Scott, Shannon, Howard, Stern the original John gambling. I mean, you know, that's that's quite the well, that's the revered company that we happen to be put in look that's big. I agree with you. But no one else here seems to I give him today. Okay. So today, you wanna see an Email is that what you want to say? And I fully expect that they will be Joe boat in some cake. It's rotten. It's old. It's literally the king. How old is that came from yesterday? But what does it look like it's a week and a half old put aluminum foil over it got all smushed? What what what's it for cake? We had Lydia's family birthday party yesterday had bunch of people live has another family. Now, my our family birthday party for my Livia. Then she she actually tweeted out a picture of her sister-in-law breastfeeding one one of her kids. The party was eating cake. So yesterday was Libya's birthday. No life took over and we weren't able to all get together until yesterday. But her birthday was six weeks ago, a family party. That's a good excuse. Reminds me blowing out the Kate member. Mitt Romney was blowing out one candle at a time. Yeah. And at first people thought, oh what a weirdo? What do you think about it that actually makes sense because you don't want some some loser? Whoever it is what of whatever age blowing out the candles, essentially, blowing this alive all over the cake that everybody's going to get a piece of that's true. That's so Mitt Romney wasn't. So wasn't such the weirdo at that point that a lot of people made him out to be not at that point. He was being very considerate. But at this point, you hate Mitt Romney everybody. Listen, I used to love Mitt Romney really did. And I still it's a personal beef. It's like McCain thing. So I kind of sub slack. I don't hate them hate them. I mean, it's kind of. Trump because it's the beef. He has with.

Just so he could go back to the old neighborhood and say, hey, you should've treated me better made fun of my my ear now, what do you think of that? Now, you Lord it over the let's put the X infect about that. But as long as as loud as we've known that you've had that hair, and we didn't see her. I don't look like an old woman now. "Show for jennifer and karen for you i tell you my my my fan base and knows that i don't like kiss never had gene simmons is an interesting character but the music has never done anything for me other than this this time when you think about it can you name any other song besides because i can't anyway the reason we're playing i wanna rock and roll all night is that the gene simmons has settled a lawsuit alleging sexual battery gender violence assault against a female radio and tv broadcaster simmons and the players identified as jane doe i've seen her involved in lots of cases though she gets around that jane doe anyway they announced today in the la county supreme court their case has been settled da da da terms a settlement not known never will be they'll walk it up and throw away the key so you'll never know originally simmons was sued for allegedly groping this reporter and making quote unwanted unwarranted sexual advances that's certainly imaginable in my mind his personality yes just every bit of whatever i've seen he's married to a fabulously good looking very open woman apparently shannon is her name i always thought she was really quite a catch for him because he's ugly and she's really good looking well they had that what was that show the family jewels neighbor went along their life is actually really interesting and their their kids seem pretty normal the white seemed pretty normal sees beautiful and then he's just crazy data's mine anyway for a really long time and then he finally married her yet they were children came out of wedlock as they say johnny way he did whatever he does there's an interview apparently with his bandmate paul stanley at their rock and brews restaurant in san manuel casino in highland california and this is when that all happened apparently according to lawsuit simmons grabbed the plaintiffs hand and forcefully placed in on his knee held on his name he's been doing that for as long as anybody can remember doesn't make it right but most people thought as part of his act and to a point i think it was so anyway but he may have gone too far in this circumstance the allegations included that he forcibly flicker struck her throat providing an incoherent explanation for his behavior when he was asked so the suit also said that while posing for promotional photograph together after the interview simmons grabbed her butt perfectly imaginable as well it was a dentist the document says a longtime on air personality for local rock station big drinker i don't know i don't think so i do not think or a drinker seems like he kind of has like drunken antics i think he's just a goofball frankly or i think he's very smart businessman i think he's very smart guys made a lot of money merchandising genius he very smart the band is a really marginally talented band yeah the band music and also one of the vets move along here i wanted the other people i think it's in people some will violently disagree with me or vehemently disagree tom petty his next step musically because his a gibson es g electric guitar and it was a may nineteen sixty five jimmy auction along with one of his top hats famous heritage auctions announced that the curve on the twentyfirst of this month a couple of weeks from now says guitar was played by petty during his eighty six tour with bob dylan portion of the proceeds from the sale of the tar will benefit to southern california charities the midnight mission that helps the homeless and the animal rescue fund guitar the top had been sold by petty's friend norm harris runs a rare guitar shop in la heritage says harris solely guitar petty he returned to terrace years later after a friend gave him another rare instrument so tom petty's didn't say how much it's got word what do you think it'll go for a lot there's you know he tom petty is revered so i can't imagine he was also very charitable and lots.
