"It. So that's that's why he went to brooklyn and so now in and that in saying that the pressure on him to try to say. Hey i'm the best player in the league but to win a championship. There's no more pressure okay to you so all the pressure is on james heart because look. He forced his way out of houston. He got what he asked for. So now it's time for him to deliver. You got everything you want to houston. Now you want it out and now all the persons are used to help them deliver a championship. so i don't agree and aspect as far as winning that oughta personal katie auto personal heart and For him to get his first championship because when we talk about the end of the day when you talk about players the best players to never win a championship harness consistently conversation until he does. So am i right or is paul. Pierce fry eighty eight say. Espn eight seven to nine. Three seven. seven six. Excuse me paul. Before i let you go. We've got about a minute. What do you think lebron's thinking right. Now you know when i look at k. d. and the warriors lebron to seventy three win warrior team and katy couldn't do it with under that same year both played a game seven at oracle and it seemed to me that when i joined the warriors ultimate tip of the cap to lebron like. They looked at each other. Should neither one of us can get by this. Do let's join forces and try and get bio. What do you think of a braun is thinking right now in la. He's got a defending champs if anything there probably got better in the offseason. But he's got one dude with them and a supporting cast k. D. got an mvp ankirihiry with them. What do you think lebron snaking. Lebron is not thinking twice about this. Kuala only thing is on the brom mine added to his legacy. I mean he looks at these mix players and say oh. Yeah that's great but you look get the lakers. They're already a well oiled machine right now they're cruising whereas the nets gotta make up some ground and we're not even sure if they gonna work well together so give them about twenty five thirty games and see where they add. Maybe lebron's mind things a little bit like maybe okay. You know because before this season in right. Now we're like it's a no brainer. The lakers going to win a championship. Now that they made this move well brooklyn were guide and james harden is like. Okay maybe have some serious competition if there's any team in the east coast before we say there's no team in the east. Even if they make it to the phones that can beat the lakers. Now you gotta team that raises that question you know now you go around auto barber shops and auto group chats zoom and say okay. There's a team that can. Finally chan challenged the lakers. So yeah it crosses mind a little but the is not where he won't be at right now until he sees what this product could put out on the floor. And then mama i. I'm not sure if it worked because when you look at all the championship teams and all the superstars and all the big. Three's in super teams that put together. They all had different skill sets. And i don't see that with this squad. You know they they. All have similar skill sets aside katie. He play off the ball. But you gotta have the ball in cairo. He's had to be effective most of the time. The ball james are these guys uses. Rates is off their hearts over the last five six years and so the biggest question is can they mix and be that threat and so until it is. Yeah they have the names but do they have the game that go with the chemistry to become a superpower in the nba brother brother. Paul pierce appreciate you coming on especially today and hopefully. We'll talk soon. thank you. Thank you back paul pierce. Join me on the goodyear hotline. We want the best of both worlds. We want a hybrid a smarter. Hybrid cloud approach with ibm helps retailers. "Ball. Thanks for coming on You were part of a big three in boston. You are a superstar in boston. You didn't have a lot of help. They went out. And got you ray. Allen and kevin garnett and you guys immediately won a championship. What so you have insight into this. What needs to happen in brooklyn right now that there's harden one would thinks still kyrie and k. d. mark. I'll i'll say it again. You got me paul. Gotcha gotcha you were a superstar. Toiling away without a ton of help in boston they went out. And gotcha kevin garnett and ray allen and the three of you came together and immediately won a championship looking at the nets right now. Kyri playing basketball k. D. and james harden. What do these three guys need to do right now to have your kind of success. Well it's gonna be tough. Let me tell you the circumstances a lot different because we had a four training camp and then when you look at me kevin it ray. We all have different types of games and so in order for them. The nets With james harden kyrie irving and durant. They're going to have to change up a bit. You know all of them can't thirty points You know something that they've been doing the last few years and so somebody's gonna have to be able to take a step back and be good with that. And when i look at these three in the primaries committal still in the problem of their careers. I'm not sure who's gonna be willing to give that up when you you look at us. We were like we had a championship yet. And we were all really take that sacrifice katie's casey's wanna chip kyrie's casey's won a championship heart has not and so who's gonna be willing to take a step back and sacrifice for this team to win and that's the biggest question then i When i see these three put together paul. What's amazing to me is lebron. Might stop these guys. He stopped you guys back then students still going but let me let me stay on topic for a second. It seems to me in terms of sacrifice. a lot of people are pointing to kyri. because he's the third best player but it seems to me in fact it's hardened who's going to have to do the sacrificing because what makes harden so special is no matter. How many shots he takes no matter. How many tough threes. The whole thing they go in at the same rate he's very usage player. In the more you dial it up. He still remains the same level of efficiency. That's really is value whereas actually if you just want to have a shooting contest kyrie's better shooter from the line from three kyrie finishes in the paint as well as anyone under the rim. Who ever lived. Kyrie's got better handles right like so. It's when i think about who suffers in a big three. It's actually hardened like kyrie's been second banana to lebron before one championship. It's hardened who's going to have to give up those touches and time with the ball is not. I agree with that because he's coming into a situation already established you know kyri and k d. They started the season. They've been trying to campaign orchestrated this move to come to brooklyn and so he's coming into their. He's coming to sit at their dining table. You know you're you're due to dinner. You can't come to dinner and tell them what you want. You got to eat where we serve and so he's going to have to take that sacrifice and so and understand at the end of the day. When i look at this squad. This is katie's team. And if i'm hard when i come over there the first thing i'm gonna say look i'm not trying to take nothing away from y'all just wanna come here when the championship. I wanted to do whatever i can because this is what he wants. This is what hard once you know. He had everything given to them in. Houston he could do what he wants. Practice play show what he wanted and he showed up ninety nine percent of the time and they built everything around him and so now he's coming into somebody else's house and he's gonna have to do what they say and try to win a championship because that's excellent. He said in used to. We're not good let me tell you. The nets with coyote korea katie. Y'all are good enough now and in the mood around and that's now his championship our bus. Because when you put these three caliber players on one team you can't expect nothing but championship. I mean look at the resumes and these guys are still at the prime of their career. So yes hard. We'll have to take a step back. He will have to sacrifice. And and say hey you all willing to take this in order to win a championship. He's done everything else. he's won. Mvp he's he's made backs contracts. He's he's all star games. He's done everything you could actually championship. So he's willing to do that. Then i like the mets chances. Talking to the great paul pierce. Don't forget he was finals. Mvp in two thousand eight on that garnet ray allen team paul when i think about it i think like this number one. Here's some misconceptions. I think that people are wrong about kyrie's going to have to sacrifice the most. I explain why. I think it's actually james harden who's going to have to sacrifice the most. Here's another one ready. Kyrie or james harden may because he's never wanna titles under the most pressure. I actually think it's k. d. And let me tell you why here whether you agree or disagree and why. I think it's k. D. for this reason when you look at k. d. as a basketball player the physical package and what he can do on the floor almost seven feet tall with a wingspan. He has his stephen a points out on. I take he can bomb from the outside he can shoot the mid range he can get to the paint he he's he's turned himself into an excellent passer. He can defend multiple positions and all star level as his career progressed. He can do everything. There's nothing stopping him physically from being the best player who ever lived. But when you talk about the greatest players ever when you say. Mj lebron koby magic bird. They all lead consistently led groups guys two championships. D's never done that. Joined the seventy three win team that team. It already won a chip a couple of years before that and the won seventy three games that year before any. Mvp player on that team's going to put him over the top k. D. is now trying to lead a team to a championship. An imperfect team. Not very deep as you say guys who don't all do different things. How are they going to get along so to me. The most pressure is on. Actually kevin durant. Am i right or wrong. no. I think you're wrong. I mean he has different type of pressure. I mean because his pressure is based around him. You know wanting to be wanting to be known as the best player in the league and in order to do that. You gotta take the king off the throne and lebron and leader team attempts to like you said so. There's pressure in that aspect because for years you know there's been an argument who's been the best player in the year. You know you gotta say lebrons. K b those two are consistently in the conversation. And i'm sure that katy gets annoy. People say lebron when you look at the skill level of this guy Yes he's want to finals. Mbps's won championships but looking into fashion..

"The max kellerman show the podcast. Brooklyn nets are acquiring juiston james harden in a blockbuster deal get this in every way. This trade nate's the nets the most lawsuit team in the nba while long distance. But that's all requiring former. Mvp james hart from the rockets now. Here's what's crazy. The history of the nba is the team. That gets the best player in the deal. Wins the deal rockets. One this deal time. We'll tell depending on who they taken the draft they had no leverage here because superstars dictate where they're gonna go like katie and lebron can just sign with whoever they want. They've shown i'll go here. I'll go there. Golden state or go to brooklyn gonna miami back to cleveland to la but even when teams try to play tough with the stars. Bottom line is ad. Let everyone know. Look i'm going to la. And where did he get traded la. James harden let everyone. i'm heading to brooklyn. Where do you get traded brooklyn considering the leverage that harden and the nets have had. Oh my god the houston rockets. Got four first round picks because they have milwaukee's picked sent it to brooklyn endless in twenty twenty two first rounders from brooklyn. And milwaukee ain't gonna be worth a whole lot right ain't gonna be bad. It's nice to get a. I ain't gonna be worth a whole lot button. Twenty twenty four twenty twenty six twenty seven. The nets just gave up every draft pick. They're ever going to have dinwiddie got hurt and they included carris liver and the deal so brookwood probably not gonna be good in two thousand twenty six two thousand twenty seven might be a great pick but it's not just the four first round picks houston got. It's the four. I ground swaps. In addition to the four picnic and swap first rounders with brooklyn. They got a hall and by the way then houston turned a revert to all. The depot is a great job by houston brooklyn you. Usa burying the lead. Because you got james harden and what's crazy about this is dinwiddie gets hurt net. Before he got hurt. I thought brooklyn trade for harden. That's a big mistake trade for you're gonna thin out your depth. That's one of the strengths of the team. You know there's only one ball kyri and hardened gonna do in the back court and i liked. I just liked the way the team looked then. Didn't he got hurt. then he got hurt. And and counter intuitively rather than thinking. Okay we need more depth in fact the right move is to say okay now. It's not going to be our thing. We need another playmaker in the back court. Now you gotta go top heavy. Now you gotta a difference maker to make up for the fact that you're lacking depth and they go out and get james freaking harden the brooklyn nets. It's it's finals or bust. But do they have to win the whole thing and his la worried. Here's the bottom line. There's one big three in the nba. One big three. It's in brooklyn. I'm not talking about here are two best players. And here's another guy who's not that like dennis. Schroder is pretty good right now. I don't know that. I mean three great players. And here's the thing about big. Three's especially in the absence of other big. Three's in the league. They're pretty rare big. Three's right failure is losing in the finals. not making. The finals is not acceptable when boston got the big three. And you're going to be hearing from paul pierce later in the show. Paul pierce is joining me in a little bit. Paul pierce kevin garnett ray allen. There was another big three in the league. They won the championship that year. When lebron failed it i with his big three in miami. Lebron wade bosh. The made the finals and failed in the finals. In six games. Gotta make the finals put his eason a big three right now. I'm going to get to that. The second i here's kevin durant at the nets press conference after the hardened deal losing teammates in in karasin jared taurean but also welcoming in you know t- maiden james harden does not even finalized yet. So we'll talk about it another time. I know you don't want to get into things until they are official but looking pass looking into the past. Was it like to play with james. What do you remember about him as a teammate. Because you have played together well k. d. has not played with this. James harden james harden was an excellent sixth man back then but he was not an. Mvp hardens an mvp caliber player. Now although recall that that oklahoma city team which was the most that was the most kind of underachieving would be dynasty. Ever they made one finals and they were all early twenties k. D. one of the best players ever james harden one of the best scores ever russell westbrook future. Mvp triple double guy on the season and serge. Ibaka still excellent. Just went to the clippers instead of swapped out harrell for for for baca and just the clippers better better than a young player like mantras harrell. That was amazing. Talent put recall harden was the sixth man even though he was third or fourth best player on the team because he westbrook function better apart than together on the floor together. Only one ball. Now there's so much to unpack your eight eight say. Espn how you feel about this. New york eighty eight say. Espn and all around the country. People want to chime in. I'm actually going to take calls today. Let me say this first of all. Is it a big three. In the sense that does brooklyn in fact have three guys or is kyrenia not really on the brooklyn nets right now. You know you can see trading for james harden as a hedge against just not playing and by the way so they lose dinwiddie for the season the nets just not just trade carousel avert but allen is is their big. He's a very good player. They're really putting all their their their eggs in the in the big three basket but is it three. Is.

"Really impressive from coach Bill Belichick. Lebron James is in his seventeenth NBA season and still strikes fear and has opponents Paul. Pierce said over the weekend that quote players today are scared of Lebron. My era is out of the League. We weren't afraid of Lebron, but these guys today he strikes fear in these guys I can see it taught Shannon. Have a point. Here. Sounds ridiculous. Does this Paul Pierce realize that when Lebron got into league, he was seven years older. Paul Pierce was twenty, six years of age. In the League has gotten younger while abroad is thirty, three, thirty, four, thirty, five, these guys are coming in skip at twenty, twenty, one, eight, Nineteen Twenty, Twenty One Zion what twenty years of age. So Lebron James is fifteen years older. Bill Lebron younger. Van Fifteen years younger than Lebron James Paul Pierce K. G. Even Colin's. Think is. Kobe came in and ninety six at Eighteen Lebron James came in and. Three. So. Years Older. Than Lebron. So, of course. Of course you're going to be afraid of a kid. It bothers Paul Pierce give by the peers that Lebron James, and you're seventeen is still this good. It bothers him then not afraid Lebron James just good. If You guys say when Co when they lined up next to Kobe sad, I was nervous I was scared that's Kobi or would I lie? Let's Michael Jordan that's Michael Jordan skip. You'd know greatness Paul Pierce. I wasn't afraid of it. He dropped forty, five, fifteen and five in game six and Celtics and thirty one into and game seven. You remember that close games. Against the nets this weapon. Draw border battle Paul Pierce now Paul Pierce did outdueling and a game seven Lebron James had forty five appears one hairs. Pierce Starting Lineup Cagey Ray Allen Rondo Kendrick Perkins here's Lebron James Starting lineup the lante with Ilgauskas Ilgauskas been while while he's Pretty. Good actually. Really. Although. Lebron. James. Between eighteen thirty, eight, eight, hundred. Drain figures the Celtics. Twenty two thousand eleven thousand five, hundred, five, and fourteen in game four, thirty, three in game five close average walls. Stop Paul Paul you got let this go because this does not come off as being analytical. This comes off as being jealous it comes off as being petty is that you're looking for every excuse you possibly can to minimize what he's doing is Paul you had unbelievable career. Nobody in the history of the NBA, his gotten more mileage out of A. NBA title then Paul Appears but Bra at snow. Name. But name a guy has gotten more mileage because I lied more mileage out of one title. Was it a fluke skip? I'm not saying it's the flu but to try to minimize what every turn because here he is seventeen because all he got all they talk about. The he laws. So now if he wins, he's win the title with his thirteen and Laura for the finals MVP scale. We might not ever see guys again. Why the best player best players the best player in every year is Lebron first team, all NBA Lebron and the MVP. He finishes second again, Paul this does not comes off as being analytical. This does not come off as being. offered. A critique of a man's game. A comes off a you being jealous. It comes off the UBS. Pity. Just for the record Paul Pierce when he was in Boston was called the truth because he was the truth and he was the best player on that very good team that won the championship in two thousand, eight cagey was really good for the player of the year. But this guy, you need a bucket, he got you a bucket. He was very difficult to stop Ray. Allen was one of the greatest shooters every made the greatest clutch shot ever and Rondo was really good at what he did. Playoff Rondo. Jaw Playoff Rondo Paul. Pierce was really really good a perennial. All Star. So don't tell me he got mileage out if he'd been the like the setup man, he got milder. Tell. Me Everybody the hall of fame and NBA everybody everybody went all Star Games in the NBA Thousand Eight Paul Pearson a game seven did outduel Lebron. James and if you look closely, I dare anybody to call up the play by play down the stretch of that game and see what Lebron couldn't do down the stretch because he disappeared Lucia question if Lebron, we flipped roster. So now Lebron Cagey and Paul Pierce. Lebron came into the league with chosen one tattooed across sports illustrated. gave him that name will he put it on his? He adopted the powder toss pregame that some guy up in Chicago had made famous Lebron announced I'm the new twenty, three watch. This is the. Elementary question since you talk about adopting stuff, Paul Pierce, adopt the name. The truth does he go by that? We mean adopt does he does he call them the truth before. Of Not with the Chosen One. Chosen Smart Pregame Skip Fifteen Years Volley. He's seventeen. He's next. Back. Did they did? Here's why Paul Pierce will not let this go because he saw up close and personal because he mostly guarded Lebron James and twenty. Tan. This was the eastern Conference semi-final and Lebron put on a show in game three at. On a Friday night, I thought it was the greatest Game Lebron. Overplayed you that game six which came down often you're twenty twelve. But in in that series, Lebron, put them ahead two games to one, and then he pulled his usual disappearing act games four, five and six he shrank. In it got so bad that his owner eventually accused of quitting in those three games and it got so bad that a member of Lebron's inner circle. Told Stephen a Smith at ESPN that Lebron head to be sedated for games four, five and six because of a locker room issue and I had to be sedated after that got reported because I've buying that one..

"Question about the photo no question. If you're with US earlier, we've got a photo of Kobe delay coby Bryan dunking over Paul Pierce. We'll get Paul's thoughts on that in all things NBA, but it's a football. Friday plenty of NBA common because we got a big weekend, the NBA good of our final set here by tomorrow night. But the NFL is starting week three last night Miami and Jacksonville kicked it off Baltimore and Kansas City will end it in. A great slate in between and the team that really is not getting a ton of attention because we've got so much attention on the eleven to and teams. There's also eleven. Oh, in two teams ensure the Bengals of look good though into the eagles have looked awful it. Oh, into but one team that's right down there with Philly and as quarterback questions is the Minnesota Vikings Kirk cousins coming off a triumphant one, hundred, thirteen yard passing performance and if you. That number was ugly. Let me give you a couple more in the off season. Cousins signed a deal two years sixty, six, billion dollars that's coming off the previous deal where he got the eighty three million guaranteed. Obviously you give somebody like that the amount of money you do all guaranteed because you think they are the guy the vikings lost four super bowls. This was the guy that was gonna come get him over the top and win their first. For the purple people eaters, they seem anything but close. So we're going to have a little game here the guy, not the guy inspired by one kirk cousins who we thought could be the guy, but indeed is not the guy let's run through the teams that we know that obviously have the guy, and of course, we're talking about the quarterback position. These are obvious bucks, chiefs, Ravens, packers, steelers, you know the quarterback's with these teams, Texans Cowboys Forty niners seahawks. Falcons. Some are a little stronger than others, but clearly, they all have guys that have done it too early to tell bengals borough promising dolphins with two or haven't seen him chargers with Herbert we saw him look promising but you never know. That takes out another portion of the league. Now, the debatable group do these guys have a guy or not or is it to be determined? Let's go real quick through them with both the FELLAS. Let's start with kirk cousins in the Vikings. No, they don't have a guy they pay in I'm surprised and I'm surprised at Rick Spillman pay the type of money that he paid for Kirk cousins the first time around when Washington didn't WanNA. Do it, and then he comes in doubles down on it and I have high respect for Rick annoying very well I just want to know what the thought process was giving him the second big chunk of money with one year of left on the deal. Maybe he just looked at the landscape and said, there's nothing out there. We need a quarterback and this is the Guy Gm Rick Spielman. We're women the general manager anything but you. No. He did the jets a favor remember he used to raise the price and I'll turn back to backfire now he's access they won but you know remember last last season he had to have a come to come to come to heart meeting with his receivers and they said, Hey, man, you're not getting it done. He apologize on the radio about how bad he was playing and then he turned around he's a guy that needs everything perfect. He's not a franchise quarterback he's A. Compliment to a good team and the problem is they don't have a very good team they traded digs and they don't have that deep threat and you're able to take away your the other receivers. Rudolph is slow down a little bit and now they're just ganging up on him and you know they had this is a team that thought they were getting over to push their trips to the middle of the table and we're all in and they're gonNA come up short because curtains pats. Oh come on what type of question is that she had in the obviously have the guy should we put them upstairs? Absolutely jared stood of what? Absolutely rising I mean thinking needs to be moved is let's not even having a conversation. Well, let's see. Let's see if they love them enough to give them more than a couple of million dollars because that's the issue, right? He's going to be on the line for forty million dollars and you know how Bill Gates when Negotiation Time Bill pulls out, pulls up to the vault and not go to the ATM trying. Check I think board if he does what I think he could do, which is the division and get them in a deep run in the playoffs I. Don't believe that they'll have a problem paying. You got a the division. Into division I like Buffalo Defense I know your deepest player and all that. But I got him went into the visual but. Allen how he's pushing the ball down the field this is the biggest threat that the Patriots have had for their division. Since my two thousand, they had a lot of they've a lot of threats in the division. They won like nine of them in a row something like that. And even even y'all those were brady though. Okay. Okay Toby continued. TB A cardinals yeah. They do Kinda Murray is their quarterback of the future for that system and what they're trying to do now as far as winning the Super Bowl I don't I'm not going there I'm not GonNa put Kyle Mary Super Bowl because I don't like the system long term in the national football league because he puts too much pressure on guys like this. While you think about you know if we're going to say that They'll Lamar Jackson is a super bowl contender dentist Kinda, the same type of philosophy. Now problem is Colin Murray stay healthy like Lamar Jackson seemed to be able to avoid the kit but I remember one day when I went straight to my knees and started praying when pat white went to the sideline and he got hit by the guy hit by the steelers he went to baseball the next day. There's hope then hope happened to column the old. West Virginia quarterback Pat White Knight Knight on. The Return of Playoff Rondo

"So Bill Game One against Houston was Rozan rondos first game nearly six months. Can you break down everything that he went through with injuries? Yeah. It was interesting because this is a guy who has been slowly it feels like kind of breaking down as he's gotten older he had two broken fingers on his right hand last year his first year with the Lakers. This year he had a calf injury. He had an aversion fracture in his right ring finger and this is all before we get to March and the shutdown from the pandemic. So the Lakers are off for four months they go to. ORLANDO. Rajon Rondo is with the team their first practice inside the bubble Lakers guard Rajon Rondo has suffered a broken right thumb in. He's expected to return to full basketball activities in six to eight weeks, he's going to undergo surgery to repair the fact fracture this week. So he leaves the bubble has surgery. He's out for another six weeks or so the Lakers have a first round series against the Blazers Rondo, comes back to the bubble and is actually cleared to play for game three against the Portland Trailblazers, he's on the court getting ready. For that Game Rondo was listed as active tonight for the Lakers but was a late scratch with back spasms that happened. So, by the time, we got to game one of the second round against the rockets. There was kind of this sense of porcelain Rondo forget about it what level, but is he just going to be healthy enough to play and be able to stay healthy to make a contribution to this team? What does he had to say about all of these injuries he basically downplayed the injuries and said that these are the sorts of things that are going to frustrate. Anyone was very frustrating injury and step back I'm my career fourteen years have. Everything happens for a reason. Obsolete man says talks we. Still for the moment but the timing of this latest injury, the broken thumb and the back spasms I think particularly frustrating for him because this is a guy whose entire reputation and career is built on playoff performance on being a guy who really ramps it up in the postseason. Early, in his career uses a second your point guard with the Celtics out of Kentucky playing with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen and Paul. Pierce and he ended up playing an instrumental role. You remember the two thousand, eight finals against the Lakers decisive blowout game. You know he had twenty one points against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers twenty one point seven rebounds eight assists six steals to give the Celtics a championship for that story franchises nearly ovation barrage. You've seen it win Lebron was in Miami. If you remember game three of these conference semi finals Rondo dislocated his elbow. Oh. Wow. Left arm hyper-extended boy. Didn't see it on that I replay certainly. Saw It there. When back to the locker room pop back in came back onto the court to help the Celtics with game. Time is pad. Rajon Rondo expired the crowd rare Boston. We've seen it time and time again in his career in these big moments, it's not superhuman. But when you take a player who is seen as a high level, but not superstar player can a hitting that superstar switch when the playoffs come then obviously a legend starts to grow. And for him did have another injury right when the Lakers were expecting to get him at his best was extremely frustrating. But the timing actually ended up working out he made it back for the second round series against the rockets and as we've seen was really no worse for the wear the Lakers got blown out by the rockets in game one. They're all going to be in a good mood tonight as the Houston Rockets when it one twelve to ninety seven. But after that, they rattled off four straight wins how much credit do you think Rondo deserves further taking that series. So easily I think you could make an argument that without Rajon Rondo certainly that the Lakers wouldn't have off the next four wins, but he was instrumental in games two and three and four also, but specifically games two and three with his performance in the fourth quarter game too. He knocked down a late jump shot to kind of hold off the rockets and what was a close game Rondo two. Point jump shot that's Rajon Rondo with a bucket right there ten points nine assists for Rondo and then engaged three. He was actually the guy who is Lebron James on the bench to start the fourth quarter in what was a close game at the start of that period he either scored or assisted on Lakers I eight possessions of that quarter to help kind of turn what had been another tight close game into a rout for the Lakers. Rondo. He'll three and Rondo hits another one largest laker lead tonight Rondo has. Been Spectacular and a nice Lee for Kuzma. This is sort of how his reputation has been built. But this also is kind of out of line with the way he's played for the Lakers over his first two years. He hasn't been the guy who has come up in the big moments or been clutch. You've seen the decline of a player who's in his mid thirties and has been in the League for fourteen years, but there has always been this belief from the Lakers that when the playoffs come that he. Would step up and have those sort of vintage Rondo performances and so what you saw was sort of this return to form that the Lakers have always promised would be there and you saw not only offensively. But also defensively when Houston started to make runs, it was Rajon Rondo who was picking up James Harden full court and pestering him into turnovers they double team Arden and get a steal and another round of bucket. That's a ten old laker run hard was trying to go behind the back Rondo was right there. In both game two in game three second-half possessions where rondos picking up James Harden. The former MVP of the league, hounding him into a turnover, taking his pocket and going the other way for layup that completely shifted momentum and those both are Lakers win. So when you look at what Rondo did in those two games, I, think you could easily say that the Lakers could have been down two. Oh, two one in the series instead of kind of romping to a five game series victory.

Mind, Body Connection

"Hi Everyone, I'm Oprah. Winfrey would you answer true or false? Two the following statement my emotions and my thoughts have a direct bearing on how physically healthy I am, and I'm sick and my mental attitude can help to make me well well. My guest say that both are true that there is a crucial link between the mind and the body. My first guest is a surgeon who works with cancer patients that other doctors have sent home to die. He tells them. To Abandon Conventional Treatments like chemotherapy, but to combine them with a whole new belief system about life, and the purpose for living his remarkable results are documented in his book. It's called. Love Medicine and miracle. Welcome Dr Bernie, Siegel to. My second guest says that there is a direct connection between our emotions and our vulnerability to disease. Specifically, he says that certain emotions increase the risk of strokes and may even trigger certain viruses to cause disease. He even says that tumors have been known to shrink if a patient thinks them smaller welcome, clinical psychologist and author of Super Immunity, Dr Paul Pierce saw walking. If you can think certain tumors smaller, why can't you think other things? Why can't you if you have colon cancer? Why can't you think that you don't have it or if you have a heart murmur? Why can't you think that you don't have it? Why do you have control over some things and not control over others point a great deal of control everything right ideas at every thought you. You have results in a shower of chemicals that alter the body. It's defense system its immune system. It's healing capacity. There's a healer within that we have control over there is disease. There are things that break in US illnesses, a natural part of living, but we all get sick. Sometimes we can find that healer within somebody what said it. You know that God cures. The doctor sends the bill. That must have been dad who said back. And you have documented many many cases of people who? Appear to have miracles in their life, but you say there's no such thing as Miracle Yeah. Needs in his book cancer ward used the term self-induced healing. Yes, the interesting thing about medicine. If you get back to bills in business medicine, the only business that has not studied suggests we do a lot to people who don't do well. Nobody stops and says why don't you get cancer? Why don't you AIDS when you meet the AIDS virus? And what I'm saying is? If you study survivors and you study success, you have something to teach. It is not an accident when you don't die when you're supposed to according to a doctor. What is it? It is a change in you and a change in your life. That's part of what we're talking about. There are things called. Neuro receptors you our body mind. You are not a body and mind if you change your disease changes because your body changes really yes. You're not your body and mind. You're not just a body, or you want some interesting. Yeah, facts, things like people with multiple personalities, yes, can have a disease in one personality, not in another can have an allergy in personality, not in another studying, and this goes all around the planet. This fascinating, yes. Yeah nobody ever told me that in medical school. Nobody ever told me in nineteen, thirty three I think it was Carl Jung interpreted the dream and made a physical diagnosis so I work with dreams with drawings. You're what's going on in your body. We can bring that awareness out. So does this mean that each of us has control over our diseases remarkably slow listen to a bunch of surprising things never taught me in school, either where the only animal in the world dies on a given day of the week more than other days. That is Mondays people, the majority of people who have a heart home let me. Let me interrupt this for one second, because that's very important statement number one is we all die someday? Get the bad news over in the beginning of the program. Death is not a failure. Okay, but the hospital everybody dies at two in the morning. We have incredible control over when we die now there's a reason i. Well my communist try dying Newnan Hospital. They won't let because reputation is based on. You're not dying and the other is families that you don't say to each other I love you, you say. You're rotten, mother, kid, you know father, so you die at two in the families asleep or left, but if you have that kind of control over turning off your live. You also have a lot of control over turning the mind. Remarkably so when you have gall bladder surgery. Room faces trees instead of a wall. You're out about a week earlier

Finding Happiness

"Most of us get sad depressed when things get tough and it's considered a normal reaction today. We're going to talk about what's considered the abnormal response to life's problems. What my first guess calls Super Joy in fact? That's the title of Doctor. Paul Pierce Cells Book. It's called Super Joy. He says it. Modern psychology has really done us a disservice by encouraging us to adapt and handle stress to work hard. Achieve our goals. What's missing he says is our ability to experience just plain unadulterated joy about life. My next guest has what has to be one of the simplest outlooks on life that any grown man could have book is called. All I really need to know I learned in kindergarten. Robert Fulcrum says all this talk about the examined. Life and self actualization might be fine for some folks but all he really needs to know he learned in kindergarten. My next guest put the lessons. He's learned about getting the most out of life. Call the power in you. We know him from his famous Amos chocolate chip cookies and now while Amos reveals the personal struggles that he's endured and the attitudes it helped him find inner strength. Welcome my guests take each book at a time? One two three three six. And then we'll all talk okay sure First of all super joy is about us not being able to or adjusting to stress in a way that we should rather than doing what psychologists have told us over. The years is normal working with patients for seventeen years. We learned something very early. That psychology and psychiatry has focused on the sick or the absence of symptoms. It hasn't focused on those people who celebrated every day who were very very healthy. We learned that being normal is very dangerous to your health. Very your passed a man on on the road the other day and he's driving this big Mercedes car with motivational tapes. Probably playing in his ear talking about his car phone. Probably on the way to a meditation class to learn to relax. We work harder than that. Shea. And he's commended for this. So what therapists have become. At least in my estimation in our research is really like lifeguards by a big river. People fall this river. They almost drowned. We pluck them out. Resuscitate them and throw them back in. We don't ask. Maybe that rivers running too fast. Maybe there's something more to life than we're doing right now. So you studied people who have the the joy response naturally and there about twenty percent of the population twenty percent. You see for example if you go to a picnic and eat bad foods spoiled potato salad. Eighty percent of the people get sick but twenty percent of those people tend to not get sick by the study those people. Why don't they? And the reason I started to look at those healthy people who don't seem to to jog but stay healthy. Eat fiver turned into a brick. They help in any way and what it was was very obvious. They had broken stress addiction. They weren't addicted to that stress anymore. They were free and what really drove the message. Home was the first woman I interviewed. Seventeen years ago a survivor of the Holocaust and I saw her in the hospital with a very non serious illness and she was smiling. They wanted her out of the hospital because she kept singing and laughing and bothering all of the rest of the patient so I went to see her. She had the tattoo on her wrist. That terrible tattoo and I said all my word look at that and she said you like my birth mark. I said that's a death mark. Isn't it she said the day they stamped that on me? I knew they weren't going to kill me now. Why did she have? That was my interest in writing Super Joy. I wanted to know why some people survive anyway. Why can they be so abnormal? Why aren't they quotes well adjusted? Why are they weird enough? Like some of the people here and my esteemed colleagues to break away from the system. That's what they've done. And so you talk about that too and all I need to know learned in kindergarten. You talk about the Good Samaritan Story and how that affected the guy who who was stopped by the Good Samaritan details about that absolutely but the bottom line of this whole discussion has to do with the fact that whatever it is that we're all looking for it is not something that you have to go out there and get it is something that you have and something that you give away and in the context of that your life is meaningful. That's the biggest distinction. I find between the people who are suffering from stress in those who are not you. You're talking about the Jewish story of the Holocaust. One time. I was working as a cowboy and a dude ranch in the night manager of this was a guy who'd been through Auschwitz and I was complaining terribly bitterly about the fact that three days in a row. We'd head weenies and Sauerkraut for lunch. Quit he said listen to me. Says you break your neck? You got a problem you go to rush Mitch. The problem all the rest of inconvenience you got to figure out the difference between inconvenience and problems. Yeah and the point of the Good Samaritan story did the man who was helped by the Good Samaritan was grateful that he was helped or did he complain about all the other people who passed and did not help him well. We've been puzzling. That went out for a long. And you see the answer to that in terms of what you project onto it rather than what the story actually tells you it's very interesting you're talking about Auschwitz. Because I went to see Mississippi Burning. Went to see it with some friends who came out saying This makes me really hate white people and I said you know does the exact opposite to me. I look at that film and I look at our history black people in this country and I think of what other black people have sacrificed in order for me to be where I am and I just WanNa make what I have better so that their legacy would not be legacy lived in vain instead of carrying the bitterness. Our guests on one of those super joy people and say I don't look at it and say this makes me mad. I look at it and say well look at what what people have sacrificed me and I can do so much more to have so much more. You know what reason for cynicism is. There's lots of reasons for cynicism. Trouble is it doesn't help. It doesn't help at all. Isn't the bottom line though love while he isn't about unless I don't care what the question is. Love is the answer loving yourself first. Because if you don't have love for yourself then you can't give it to others and that's a major problem. I think is is low. Self esteem like a love for oneself so we're projecting all of these negative images out onto the world

"Bet on the raptors looking good today, because this is on satisfying way to beat the warriors. It is on satisfying because you'd like to see them at full strength. But to me, it's the only way to beat the warriors, I think it is the only way to beat the warriors. Although the way they shot last night, the rap, there's, I'm not certain that game doesn't beat the warriors at full straight. Did they shot very well STAN and you and your brother have been saying for a long time, it's so often about just makes and MRs Toronto got so many good looks at the end of game too, and they just weren't making anything. And so what you end up seeing last night, and I wanna get to a number of different things in terms of game analysis. But the first thing I wanna point out the big story of the day. Our thanks to me. No Hacen for breaking it here on our air, shaming Paul Pearson away that made Paul Pierce have to admit it on air. Stan, I don't know if standing. Seeing this standard. Are you familiar with Wyatt is Paul Pierce ended up in a wheelchair eleven years ago during a finals game and then was back on the court, you know a minute later. Well now I'm not I'm not familiar with what a mean broke. So, so what, what do you what do you think happened there? When I tell you eleven years ago. Paul Pierce was carted off the court in, you know, wheelchair and then reemerged a minute or two later. What are your thoughts there? I don't have any tank. Well, here's the explanation from Paul Pierce last night. And our thanks to Michelle Beedle for cornering him on it and doing some important exploratory journalism here, eleven years ago today. Wheelchaired off the floor for reasons. He will keep. Just go to about. About a why did you need a wheelchair to get to the second? Went down. Streaking okay. So he pooped himself, and that he was trying to conceal it. And I understand in the finals. There are a lot of people watching. Lutely, gotta you gotta go. Didn't you tell us stand that one time you had a player do that? Just run right off the court because he. Chapin more than once. I mean not while the game is going on. But, you know, you get like time out, you know, they'll tell you like I needed time out you call time out and they're gone. Here's his walking back this morning, by the way, everything he said last night. Yeah. Now, he was he was joking disappointing. What about guys on the coaching staff like do you guys have a look the give each other? If you gotta run back to the bathroom faster and a quarter, I've actually never had anybody leave the bench. But Billy Donovan told a funny story I forget where they were playing. He was at Florida. And he had to ask somebody like, where's the nearest bathroom, and it was up like he went up through the crowd, and ran onto the concourse to go to the bathroom earn a game like the guy next to him was looking at him like, aren't you the Florida coach, you know, but that was the closest place. So he just ran up onto the concourse, and then came back down to the bench. It is really unfortunate the poll pierces now walking this back because. It was trending right when this happened eleven years ago. Everybody was talking about why does Paul Pierce need a wheelchair to come off the course off the court. And I so you're choosing their between the shame of pooping yourself and appearing weak, and he chose to appear weak. Yeah, he was carried off the court originally. He was carried off by a couple of teammates and a couple of team. Doctors. He didn't get into the wheelchair until he was in the tunnel. And then they took them from the tunnel to the locker room and he came back to baskets later. It was sixty to fifty eight when he left sixty two when Paul Pierce game back knowing what we do now, seeing the video and his face the way. He's grimacing. Yeah, it's really funny. I want to ask you something here before we analyzed this game. Stan, did you see what happened with between Richard Jefferson and Damon Jones on, on get up because I did. Okay. So then you want to explain it to people go ahead and explain to people what happened. There was just an argument on on on LeBron's greatness and Damon Jones.

"He was given to me that I read this as being about Paul Pierce. And you know, boy, I wish I'd had you know, shack and LeBron on my team. So I could have won a couple more rings. That's how I read it. Anyway. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, certainly these are the things that incredibly successful multimillionaires go to bed ruing at the end of the night. You know, if only if only I'd had shack on my team when I was twenty five, you know, it does say a lot about him the NBA players roll happy, David back when Paul Pierce was playing Elway turns out, that's a total. Now that wasn't the case. But I mentioned earlier, I don't know how it came together. I don't need. You didn't read this, Bomani Jones, tweeted view, go for it. No. I mean, I think it's good to go. It's it's good to reference this tweet that Bomani Jones said we're obviously has a lot of experience working on ESPN television. Where he said, the most fascinating thing about this whole thing is is to me to me is that Paul at some point had to say, yo, let's do this on the show, or at least agree to it. That's amazing on about fifteen levels. I mean, sure maybe he's just saying. All right. We are. What's what's our b-block? We don't have anything. So I'm willing to do it. But it's a weird thing. Here we go amid to me it's like the imperatives of of TV of nothing else. And even that particular show. It's like all of a sudden like, oh, this is good. Here. We go watch this. Yeah. Yeah. No. It would be it would be interesting to see, you know, how many how many players would put themselves on would raise their hand and put themselves on the list to say, it'd be better than Dwayne Wade. If I had checking LeBron at various points in my career, should we quickly? Do the notebook dump? Let's do it couple twenty and twenty notes for you. Or or going Beto beta Robert, you know, like, ha ha ha I know that you have a birth certificate name, you know, very strange. Okay. Is this a check enough for you is it are you ready, man? All right. This started as an NBA countdown segment where the gang was going on one of those hot take but not really hut. Take things about Dwayne Wade for Zelen Iverson, besides Ahah, Thomas, etc. And then Paul Pierce was asked who was better him or Dwayne Wade and with an assist from Michelle Beedle? He went in listen to this Paul riddle me this who's the better NBA player. This is August laid off the bat. Can you give me check? If you give me LeBron. Yeah. We got that late. But like early. The holy of my career what? Well, let me ask you this. What would have been a perfect time for you, Paul. I really do. Can I out line the ways for you? Yeah. Please. Please explain. Yes. Well, there's two fairly legitimate sides to the debate Paul Pierce is better than Dwayne Wade. Usually, I think he made an all star game is a Phoenix, son. So it can't be that. And he he had the whole Jabber walkies thing as a son. I think he did he had that. I don't know if he made the all star game. But he did have that years of sun where he averaged it looks like he averaged seventeen point eight points per game nine boards the last good season for shack. Okay. So Shaquille O'Neal is. Now, we we're talking about we were talking about all payers. And we were talking about the power rankings, which we will get back to Paul Pearson. How disrespectful everyone on the internet? And at ESPN was Tim could Lord did he take a beating from Jalen rose and Michelle Beedle as if his resume wasn't better than Jalen Rose's. Jalen rose is reading Dwayne Wade's resume too Paul peers, I felt like Paul Pierce should have pivoted and just read his resume compared to Jalen and see how he felt about it. Jalen wasn't the one saying that, you know, if Jalen did say that Paul Pierce probably would have said that too. I understand. But again, we are this is one of the things that's always happening in sports. We argue about and I know we're doing it this week in south Florida. We're arguing about who had the most emotional connection as the south Florida athlete to this city. Was it Dwayne Wade? Or was it Dan Marino. Whatever it is. We're arguing we are. Splitting hairs. I believe. The Dwayne Wade was a good deal better than Paul Pierce. I understand why Paul Pierce doesn't think that. And I I don't and and there's not I mean, a good deal better. Paul Pierce was a great scorer. Wade is better. How about did? You see what Gabriel union did like she was bothered by it. She she called out Paul Pierce on Twitter by name and call. It's sad that he would tear down another man. And I was just thinking like can't we all laugh at this who repeat offender to remember tour down at Thomas? Remember when Thomas was trying to have a day on Paul Pierce night. Not going to happen. Look. We have found the stugatz of the ESPN retired hall of fame athlete division. Because Paul Pierce says the things no one else is willing to say why because they're dumb.

Isaiah Thomas wears green sneakers as nod to Celtics in return to Boston

"On the two thousand sixteen seventeen season. Isaiah Thomas lead the NBA in fourth quarter, scoring he was the closer. And of course, so much has changed since that fateful spring in which his sister died far more important than the basketball, but his sister China died in a car accident in Washington state he played anyway. So this was the eve of their opening round series against the Chicago Bulls. He played anyway, they dropped the first two games in Boston. And then won the next four in a row. I can remember all of this like it was yesterday. They ended up making it to the Eastern Conference finals. And do you know that at the time? Isaiah Thomas had a pair of green and gold sneakers design for the NBA finals they were for the finals. They obviously didn't make it to the finals. But he wore those same shoes. On Monday night in his healthy return. You may remember the controversy last year. I've never talked so much about tribute videos of my life. Oh, make me roll. My eyes Burr member. There was a Paul Pierce night planned to honor the future hall of Famer a longtime Celtic, and he put up a stink publicly when it appeared. As though the Celtics were also going to air tribute video fries Ahah Thomas on the same night. So it was a night when the. Shoot. What team was he within the Cavaliers? I guess I don't know. He's changed team. So many times I made that actually might have been. I think it became a moot point. Right. He was with the Cavaliers he ended up before the trade deadline. Getting ship to Los Angeles. And then it didn't matter because he wasn't with the Cavaliers when they were in Boston. And so Paul Pierce had his night without any controversy. And Thomas has been back or his teams have been back. He's played for now. Three teams since Boston. But this was the first time he was healthy enough to be on the court. He only played seven minutes though. When it looked like he was nervous or maybe the news that he's being dropped from the nuggets rotation maybe that room for a loop. I it certainly would most human beings who play sport for a living. And so it wasn't a great night for him. But they did have the video was some really cool moments from his time in Boston. He was all heart, heart and smarts. That's the hashtag that I use for that particular edition of the Boston Celtics who seem like they overachieved, and they Thomas the little engine that could he was a big reason why. But man life comes at fast that was only a year and a half ago. And now think about the arc of Thomas's career any injuries. Of course, that have really changed his speed and his

"Gained Basketball Hall of fame. They have been icy since Allen left for Boston led Boston for Miami two thousand twelve he was the most prolific three point shooter in league history as the NBA's all time leader in three point shots made twenty nine seventy three a ten time all star and recalls, how former uconn coach Jim Calhoun shaped his career as a kid. We moved to Shaw air force base Sumpter South Carolina, while learning to take my game to another level at Hillcrest high school is where I grew my talents under the tutelage of coach Jim James Smith. I play ball every weekend at the base gym with my dad in the men stationed shore from base, and these guys definitely didn't take it easy on me those days for where I made a lot of my groups. I spent the summer a ball which attracted many. Coaches from around the country and one in particular co Jim Calhoun. Under coach home. I really learned how to work I learned how to compete. I learned how to be a better person a learned how to eat breakfast. So many things today to stuck with me. And coach guy who told me a long time ago. I was walking off the floor with a few of my teammates. And we're all like we had a great practice. And I'm thinking that I had agree or disagree job. And he calls me over to him. And he said did you make one hundred percent of your shots? And I say probably about eighty five and I looked at me looked at me. NBA, Depression and Rosen discussed on The Undefeated

"PIN senior writer, Jackie MacMullan sat down with several NBA players to talk about mental health in the NBA, Chris, Bosh, Kevin love tomorrow, Rosen, and Paul Pierce to name just a few have opened up about their struggles with depression and anxiety then be has now hired Dr William Param as its first director of mental health and wellness. Should this prompt the NBA to have some sort of mental health policy or plan for players struggling with these issues t start with you? I would say absolutely. Self care is just as important as physical care and treatment. And to be honest, it just seems logical that players NBA NFL any professional sport that athletes would kind of feel this amount of pressure to wear dealing with depression and anxiety seems like it's something that could logically happen. I mean, you've got pressure from your. Teammates, you got pressure from the fans with social media. They're always like direct access pressure to you all the time. You got pressure from your family. They don't see you as often or have expectations for you and your downtime. You get pressure from executives, especially mentioned into Doron Dhamar under Rosen, who thought that he had some form of transfer loyalty with people in the Toronto organization and then ends up being traded. So there's there and then they have pressure from themselves. I'm sure. I mean, everyone has expectations of themselves. I mean, we're not even athletes in. I'm pretty sure all of us on this podcast, have expectations for ourselves and how we feel when we don't meet them. So it makes a lot of sense that there would be that there will be mental health struggles among athletes. And so I do think it's very important for the NBA to have done. This, I think is also important to make sure that there's protection for them for the players for this kind of thing. Because as I've been reading, I've seen that owners have been saying that if this is something that we do that they want to have. Access to the records. And as you know, most medical records in some form are are confidential, and I think that in their mind, I think the argument is, you know, we have access to the players physical record, so we're able to make decisions on what we wanna do based on a player's physical health. We should also do the same for someone's mental health, and I think that's where I probably disagree with the owners in that sense because a lot of times having that confidentiality is what helps you to progress in what helps you to get

The road-weary Boston Celtics face their toughest challenge yet

"For just the way the game has been played and i've been able to be successful game six tonight in cleveland cavs hosting the celtics game seven would be in boston on sunday night paul pierce from the jump bond sportscenter scott van pelt says look the celtics need to be ready for fullscale lebron in game six back against the wall he's gonna step up you know just like two thousand eight game seventy care forty five so they have to be ready for that just mentally physically just a whiff stan lebron's run because he's gonna he's gonna leave it all out there and just like in game six when he was with the miami heat in two thousand twelve he came in the boston and put one of those greater games on so boston has to be prepared for that not only in game six if they don't win that game but game seven also in the boston garden because he's done it before he went into the boston garden had a tremendous game so they gotta know it's going to be tough to put lebron james team out of the playoffs game six tonight in cleveland the series is on the brawn we we spend a lot of time you know discussing tyron lose substitution patterns and should kyle korver have played more in you know can they squeeze a little bit more out of guys like tristan thompson or can they get anything from jr smith those things matter but ultimately not that much we're not talking about them if lebron is great tim legler espn nba analyst on the six pm sportscenter yesterday last night says ultimately this series falls on lebron and not his teammates the problem is you have to look at the limitations of their personnel so for me it does fall abroad james he might need to more forty point games to get through this round if that's what it takes because when you look at the rest of the guys on their team for the most part they are one dimensional offensive players everything is predicated on lebron james ability to score create offense for them i said it all season i don't think i've ever seen a team more dependent upon one player.

NBA Playoffs: Big response expected from LeBron James in Game 2 vs. Boston Celtics

"Deliver a potential knock out blow to lebrons james and his days in cleveland and if the celtics take a to nothing commanding lead sending this thing back to cleveland giving lebron james well let's see wednesday thursday friday saturday four whole days to stew on this think about this before the series gets underway again next weekend for game three my god i mean this guy is gonna go insane he is going to go absolutely insane and once upon a time lebron james was known as a bit of a sort of a mental midget when it came to his ability to overcome adversity remember it wasn't until the braun made it to miami and won championships that he became known as a closer that he became known as somebody that you how to handle this sort of pressure he was somebody that used to second guess is decision making all of that change the whole persona around lebron changed when he went to miami and with good reason but once upon a time the paul pierce kevin garnett ray allen doc rivers john rondo led celtics surprised and upset lebron james back in two thousand ten and that ended his original run in cleveland and with rumors swirling all year round that lebron is looking to get out of cleveland once again whether it's the lakers the clippers the wizards the seventy sixers the spurs there are rumors abound the nba that his days in cleveland are over now to me the only way that that he returns to cleveland is if he wins the championship or loses the nba championship heartbreaking fashion but if he gets upset by.

A new Celtics' 'Big Three' of Rozier, Tatum, and Horford emerges

"All right you have to give the celtics players especially their role players and for years since i've been watching the nba which is a long long time boston celtics role players danny aines they play so much better at home this is not just this team look at the role players how well they played last night we know they have significant injuries but this has been a theme for the team we can give yes they weren't prepared for the game yes did they have a counterpunch to philadelphia what they were doing yes but the place rozier tatum you gotta give a lot of credit to what they did all right so you brought up a lot of important points there one is home road celtics in these playoffs they played eight games they are undefeated at home they haven't won yet on the road so don't discount how important that home crowd in boston the other is the guys rozier tatum poor for they combined last night for more points as a trio than paul pierce ray allen and kevin garnett ever did ever in a playoff or regular season game more points combined than those three guys ever did they all scored twenty three points the first celtics trio to do that in a playoff game since perish mikhail bird in one thousand nine hundred eighty seven only the third celtics trill to ever do it in a playoff game like so those guys were great where i will give brad stevens credit and we're much like like cc too donovan mitchell is me brad stevens on the corner early and often trying to alert people how special this player or this coaches brad stevens is in my eyes right now the best in the league at is putting guys in position to do what they do well you have you have gm and danny ainge that is has knows who his coaches and says okay i can take a guy like terry rozier who people thought was a project people thought was a rich reach we picked him out of louisville he will be coached up in order to reach his full maximum potential and then when he gets the opportunity he's going to go out there and all of a sudden give me a poor man's kyrie irving level production on offense in in a critical game.
