"Basically, he doesn't want to look like a home record, right? And like, Yeah, So what do we make of this so that his people are trying to make him like you said, Be a Switzerland ius possible. So here's the thing. It's better. This is really none of this is real. This story and the tragedy. And I know when it comes to people you admire. Healer. Swift it okay that you tend to like, if you're not Remembering that nothing is real and everyone smokes. It's easy to get sucked into the narrative, and the narrative is oh, well. Like Olivia Wilde. She's just like trying to sew her oaths and be with Harry styles and Harry styles is amazing. So I want them to be happy. And who's this creepy Jason Sudeikis, and he just needs to go away. Like that's a perfectly plausible narrative. For the tabloids. However, nothing is real and everyone smokes. So here is people need to make sure that at the end of the day, Harry doesn't look like a home wrecker or that his image isn't somehow. Harness besmirched by this narrative, So they've got people out there populating the tabloids with a narrative that makes Harry styles look like he's Prince Charming and just I mean, the man he doesn't. He's just trying to have some love in flowing garments to double down on this. You also tell like, Remember the, um The population that he is it that attracts His younger people who love the Harry styles, right who get in on this gossip, And if he looks like the kind of guy who busted up a marriage, that's the the The young ones will go crazy about that, and they don't know. Because gossip is not safe in their hands. They don't know that it's all fake. Yeah, well right or or even if they have suspicions like because nobody's ever, you know really made them think that critically about me because who does really about pop culture? Yes, because that's we do for a living. It's totally understandable for people to not, you know. Take it too seriously, who are just like, Oh, that poor Harry styles He just he doesn't want. He just wants to love man, right? He's trying to come between people and their little little right. So I Yeah. It's not working on us, though. No? But clearly clearly, the poblacion ship is continuing to get some mileage, which is good for both Harry styles. It's working for them and Olivia Wilde, and maybe they're in headlines. Jason Sudeikis, who most days I would not have an opinion about right When we come back on the Colleen and Bradley show somebody with opinions about what we should be watching this weekend, Paul Maguire Grimes from Paul's trip to the movies will join us on my talk one of 71 nothing but good.

"And that's what I mean. Is that like I feel like we were already headed down that road, and this is just accelerated it to such a stark contrast. Holly, Do we have any collars? Yeah. We have a few people on the line. Let's go to Cheryl. Hi, Cheryl. I sure oral what is what are some of the things that maybe you think we will be carrying over From this pandemic into the time after people are gonna learn how to cook and find out they can actually have meals at home. I love that. That's true. I love that We're all having to do that, right? Attitude. Have you been cooking more or differently? I have been cooking more and anymore unfortunately, I Yeah, I hear you. I thank you for your call. And that is absolutely true. I mean, I just had a Conversation with my kids. Over the we well know, just actually, the last couple days. We've been talking about this about how I have asked them to step up and eaten and put each one of them responsible. For creating and helping with a meal once a week so that they start to understand better so because I just don't feel like it needs to rest solely On the shoulders of my husband and me. They're old enough now to start figuring out how to do the meal planning and also then just preparing it. And now is the time to do it because we're home. We don't have activities to run, too. And in a lot of ways that's kind of a gift and a lot of ways. You know they they're missing the things that they care about. But we're just going to take this time to home. Some different skills. Absolutely. Who else do we have on the line? Holly, Let's have Mary Have the last word fact. Hi, Mary. You'll have the last word here, Mary. What are some of the things that you think will hold over? In the after times when it comes to the pandemic. Well, I personally think that business travel is pretty much on the backside. Because companies know are realizing you don't have to fly from wherever to Europe and back and spend the money Everyone is doing. Everyone is doing film. It's not feel bad for the airlines, so they feel bad for the hotels and I used to be. My neighbors didn't even know I lived here for a year because you're gone all the time. I was gone. So, but, yeah. I mean, a CEO. Friend of mine is like, Yep. We're doing everything we assume. Interesting battle. It's going to last. It's going to last beyond just the this particular year for sure. "She would ask you how your bowels were. Can we talk about that for a real quick second, and I didn't understand. As a kid what bowels were and she'd say, Do you have loose bowels? And I thought she was talking about my balls, but I did. And I was like, I don't know. Aren't they always lose? Oh, my. I just remember like there was Grandma thinks that happened to when I was young, Like every time I visited my grand parents We would have this like conversation, or they would check in. With my poo schedule, and I was like that's we don't talk like that in my house, like my parents were never never concerned themselves with that. But for some reason, my grand parents wanted to speak openly. And honestly, about when we moved our bowels and I didn't I also was very confused by that, Like Have you moved your bowels? I didn't know what that meant. Do you like somewhere into the living room thing going to debut? I need a U haul from a bowels. Remember my glam A at some point like I don't I just respond when that when that needs to happen. I don't like I don't feel like I'm convict Grandmother. All of that. Did though also used Tio. Ah move her bowels with the door open that. See that? I'm not comfortable with that on She She was just farm girl. So, like everything she has no shame. This is boobs. She had no shame in her game. And you'd be like, Hey, grandma, And she'd be like, Yeah, I'm in here and you come around the corner, and she's like squatting like okay, so or she would be putting on her. We were talking about this. The other Member How old people used to, like dust themselves with talcum powder. Oh, gosh. And I can't tell you how many times I came around louder used to do Well, My gram was not that fancy, but I would come around the corner and You know, honey, can you go over there and hand and grant is not something that a young child needs to see you. Did. Your grand parents also wear slacks? Always sensible, flat slacks for sure. Those pants fit, Okay? No. And at some point you just don't have like you gotta have enough room you're going to grow. She also kept her gall stones in her jewelry. Uh, her jewelry. What do you call that? Like jewelry box or chest? Yeah, because I used to go in there and dig through her stuff. And I remember being like, Oh, what are these, and she was like those are McCall stones. I remember going through my mom's jewelry box and finding Teeth like my teeth. Oh, yeah. I was like what? So what would happen is the tooth Fairy would, of course, returned them to my mom's. Because your mom was doing a project with, remember, like I remember going in there to, like, borrow a pair of earrings or something and be like those air teeth. Oh, my gosh. Those are my teeth. That's disgusting. Now, Of course, I have all my Children's teeth. It's sampling killing me softly writers. Fuji's, which is sampling of Roberta Flack song. Yeah, Okay, Very cool Conception. It's like a triple. So done. Ah, you guys are killing this weekend. Inception in opportunity. A really nice, cool, like kind of a cool weekend, which would be great to get under the blanket. Hugo the Arcadian Kozak mirror. So I'm writing it down Black mirror, Don, don. We need her to start with inception, though. That's a big deal, you know, they say like when you have a day filled with a bunch of two DUIs swallow the frog first, whatever the hardest task is, just get it out of the way and inception is going to be a difficult task for you. It's like three hours of my time, right so good. Oh, it's literally one of my favorite movies. Let her relax. You know you need to do And like like Paul Maguire Grimes, I believe said, Don't try to figure it all out. Just sit down and experience, okay? Okay. Oh, man. I would like to go back and watch. You're getting right up to what Donna says, is maybe the greatest Siri's finale of all time, But he does, And that's what's so exciting about this. I've heard them my whole life. Really? It's like the best Siri's finale of any show ever. I've heard many people say that I just I can't think of anything that compares to it was just I mean, it was just Clever. OK, good. Well, I can't think about it too much. But I already have some ideas. And I don't I like to make myself really dumb when I watch shows or movies, so I don't freak. Guess what? Something you don't want to figure out, all right? And so if I'm watching a movie with someone And they go. Ah. Do you have a guess right now? How you think it's going? I do have a gas is Well, you say it out loud. I know because I don't want to hear your reaction. Because your reaction I will go. I promise. I'll just not say anything. Look, I'm hiding my face. You can't see me. You can't even breathe, Donna. Okay, look, I'll shut my Michael. Donna has spoiled. Yeah. Yeah, Tell me Tell me, not Steve, since the whole show revolves around A funeral home and death and dying and every episode, like Opens up with a death. Okay. Um, I think that And also people from their past who have passed away come back and make appearances. I think that All of the current cast members that all a lot are all alive are going to die. And they're all going to be dead together. Do you think that they've already been deadly baby? Maybe they are the ones who Maybe it's like Ah, that movie six and Nicole Kidman where where you figure out. I don't want to spoil that anyway. Yeah, Paddington is when you're two. I've never seen an episode. That's the only thing I could think of. That would be clever involving death that they all died, but well, we won't be upset about it because they'll all be together. Other and everything will be a happy ending in the afterlife. I don't know when I come back now you come back. Alright, Cool When we come back, Steve has got a list of the best TV punch lines of all time is very fun. It's It's very fun. "Tio meet up with our friend Paul Maguire Grimes from Paul's trip to the movies, and he tells us What kinds of things we should be watching this week from the comfort of our very own couches or in theatres if we so choose. Hello, Paul Maguire. Grab Paul. Hello. It's great to be here. We're so glad to have you here and I think I would like to start with a very appropriately timed conversation around Ah, couple of movies that people can watch to honor the life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Yes, I know what you know. I think so many of us turn morning right now, with passing. It was bitter against black and for other people, or even for all of us, if you don't know who she is, really? Or if you're on familiar with her work there two movies that you can watch to learn more about her. The first is on the basis of sex, which is a dramatised version that stars Felicity Jones. As really then I kind of like to think of it as the RPG origin story. Is it really is kind of about her early days in law, the relationship that share their husband Marty, and this really big taste more more more of the IRS, where she fought world of gender discrimination is a violation of the U. S Constitution. So that will be a and the documentary are be. She will be back in theaters this weekend and all that proceeds from those two movies are going to go back to American Civil Liberties Union, the specifically in support of the women's rights project, So I highly recommend people seeing these two willies. I would say if you only have time for one, watch our G. And if you don't want to go to a theater, watched on who this was a really studying documentary all about the life and clear legacy of whom We'd better Ginsberg Wass. I remember when that was released. I remember like that was sort of a pop of Ruth Bader Ginsberg Fever like people, you know, kind of hopped on board the RBG bandwagon after learning so much about her from that from that documentary. And you really feel like you get to know who she was as a person as well as a spring heart justice and how she changed so many people's lives, how she influenced so many women and mad and then you get to see her watching Kate McKinnon do her. No, I love that. It's really fun to see how she embraced. I could see her workout routine. You see her working out of the gym at the age of You know,.

"Streaming live at my talk one of seven one dot com everything entertainment Colleen Lindstrom Bradley trainer I mean that person is Paul Maguire Grimes from Paul's trip to the movies hello Paul how much time on my couch I don't even know what to do with myself sore from sitting because sometimes that happens to me after a while I get up and I'm like whoa yes I don't know what to do with what I need to get out and to do this thing but frankly I don't mind sitting on the couch well because you know anything so clearly been watching a lot of stuff yeah all I'm calling out we've been yes lots of stocks we do with the family friendly options first yeah it's cool world tour it's now available for an **** lentil soup that you want to manage and it's the sequel to the hit so many in this latter hobby in ranch find out that the troll kingdom is much larger than the Avenue and the other tropes are divided into different genres of music like techno rock and country and what happens when the rocket queen wants to try to turn all the other trolls each well doctoral okay here's my first question because none of that actually made any sense to me not your description was off but because I didn't even know what the trolls worse so do you have to have seen the original trolls in order to appreciate trolls world tour I don't think so okay I think this is a sequel that stands on its own all you have to know which that poppy and branch leaving like the pop world it's all right colors slash yeah Mike pop music basic product all the time and what happened much thank you in reality if you go to a different country and they're different race and that's what the tools are finding out that trolls come in different shades thank how does the music and then someone wants everyone to be just like themselves so basically they're learning valuable lessons which means your children will also yeah that's what you know it was all about tackling those beat up tolerance and respect and really you are understanding and celebrating our differences and it's not very easy I mean it's very evident see what these things are and how it's all been expressed through music you have people like Rachel bloom and Kelly Clarkson marriage requires RG Osborne and that's the kind of home along with Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake and the questions also we'd be great music and art okay so let's talk about the really great music because what it about that was one of the big things that came out of the last troll the trolls show trolls was good music what we get out of the house on so you're gonna get I'm mad because up to that you're gonna recognize much like you what you have like a catch classic movie then they're also kind of have twelve inspired me act like one of the big numbers as trolls just one half bond carpets the patient goes from outside you think like a song called just saying that Justin Timberlake's acts so it's a little it's a mix of that you could country song rock songs you get you know soul song selected classical also be durable ID Appalachian everyone different genres of music with it absolutely it seems like right now you know just sitting on the couch watching some fun stuff and I better just the the animation is just visually fun to watch really that's what's great about this whole movie is the animation is stunning and how everything is a different color and texture on the plane these routes for life with her it's like a it's like a glitter bomb just explodes on the screen and it you know popular characters all about happiness and celebration and such and when I was at the cash strapped the Smokey bones and what it takes when you hate people you know there's a line that says heating things takes a lot of energy and I denying the truth of who we are okay Bradley wants to watch this this weekend how many jobs are you given that so we got a five ticket no no probably that this for US nineteen ninety nine Orlando because you're just one person watching unless you count we view as critics within she's not allowed to watch movies this weekend because she had a rabbit the difference she's being your health the better price point yeah you are settling for parks press ticket which you know listen like I said before this is like of steel when you consider how much it costs to take my family out to a movie yeah watch a first run movie in our home for that price point is really doable so okay it's sounding to me like for at least for my family it's totally worth it totally it's ninety minutes I'm getting three out of five tickets okay what else do we got okay Ryan and I have been obsessed with make millions yeah at least six episodes very fast and if you don't know what it is docu series on each other also streaming on Hulu looks at the McDonald's monopoly gamer hardly asked the IBM corporation found out that there was this scheme and thus far when sweet relatives claim for million dark usage and once it got into it they realized how Chris waters and how that all comes up and tackle and you know what's really funny about it is because you when you first hear that you think okay I get it like that'll be a nice little hour and a half long thing but there's a reason why it takes six episodes to tell the story at the that one did the steering is actually quite entertaining because I thought the beginning how would they even figure out how this happened how did they get away protests and what's great about the doctors doctors that it makes it very easy to understand you don't leave it all out there in a very accessible way big cinematic quality to this I mean I felt like I was watching a movie like the big short for money box and it has a lot of the weekend arguments you know you see the kind of standard map at the red strings down the coast it's not pictures of everyone involved however it is connected at all close to people and then they throw out your diet actually good people that need a bachelors have battered allies in Europe I feel bad for these people now all right well I've got two people and then there's people that got duped and that's really the sad part of this whole fiasco to be fair this is probably the thing that we will actually watch this weekend because I'm not gonna convince Jamie to watch trolls but we definitely have this on our list so do I assume you gave it quite a few ticket stubs one half out of five ticket stubs and even if you don't remember McDonald's meat even if you don't tell me not I think you will be expostulate and you will learn a lot swamp ash look for these people to and we'll see like all these lives were ruined in the process and you could just leave your thinking it does worry for sure yeah completely yeah and that did you see that when where where to find that one working people stream that yes you can reach me at all if you got any of the each well serviced its war on Hulu they parted with who's out who's got some fantastic programming right now you can find it on Hulu if you've got that we've been watching another show called Mrs America doesn't talk about next week I'm very excited about what this weekend is to watch the collapse of the South Park this is America are they just showing some one a week well they don't know who will not affect show that on Hulu and they're doing the whole thing but they were caught firstly right away the one yeah perfect well thank you Paul Maguire Grimes we will next week have a good week I.

"Don't understand. It might be on if not a role if not. That what, what could it have been officials found a bag of Fitna pills, tucked under Randall's genitals? Okay. I'm trying to picture this tucked under. So like hand behind. Okay. Yeah. So think about must have some big. How many nature's pocket seventy three seventy three pills? That's a law. Seven eight and the son how old is guy, this guy's fifty. This is important. That's true. Has gravity set in yet. Important. More area to cover. I just all of a sudden, I'm picturing truck nuts. Have you ever seen truck? No. That's what I'm imagining giant. There was a lady that wouldn't date somebody on Jason and Alexis is, oh, this. What they call the romance. So she was like, that's probably a good thing. Yeah. That is a good thing. And so yes, Randall's truck nuts there. Seventy three blue federal pills, and the passenger didn't have any pills on him. However, his son that was riding along with them had a bag in his new nature's pocket. Three separate bags with one hundred fifty six and the crab. Maybe it's a genetic thing, maybe this family, just very, you know. Large spacious broad. Well, look. Wow. I don't know if you guys have this is going to be a new trend. We gotta keep our eyes peeled for this new nature's pocket. Do we should give an AP the police departments start checking the the third? Pocket. Now I will say to this nature's pocket. I don't know if either of you have seen the play the play the performance of puppetry of the no, I have not seen it. I've heard about it, though. What I'm saying here and what I'm telling you go on stage and they make shadow puppets out of their wings and their nature's pocket. Yes. What I'm telling you is that I've seen with my own eyes. You guys laugh that this guy is holding seventy three pills. In his new nature's pocket. I'm telling you, it's physically possible, because I've seen things stretched in ways that you would not even think was possible through science and technology. I would be very careful stretching. Because stretching is like I used to make a lot of faces with my face and my mom would always be like you're gonna pay for them. I mean they made win sales. I'm gonna have to do an experiment tonight and report back. Let's see how many pills I can hide please awkward. Silence. Okay. Questions. Mafia. Everything's gonna go home tonight home game. "Paul Maguire Grimes with all the proper letters is here to tell us. What's in theaters? We have I mean in honor of national Women's Day is captain marvel a huge movie in theaters this week in his captain marvel. Okay. And with women while Bree Larson stars as the title character. Meticulous. Not everybody knew that question. Yes. Yeah. It's a lady captain marvel and this marks the first time that marvelous had a female hero ask the lead. We had ant man and the wasp which was a co leader, she's really leading the pack here. And as we see here this movie takes place in the nineteen nineties and really gets us going into how the marvel cinematic universe. All started interesting and pre Larson is fantastic. Okay. Named after cheese. A true. I do after I have a question. Yeah. Because I I'm trying to remember public wear Grimes, Paul stripped movies. Are you a marvel fan? Okay. Because I know that some people don't get excited about the superhero movies, and that's perfectly. All right. I don't want anyone feel pressured into like having to go out. But I think with this wisely and this weather seriously. I can't even get started. There. You don't need to know, the marvel cinematic universe to enjoy this one you can really going fresh, and yes, it does help to kind of have that kind of background marble knowledge. But then like I was sitting there watching it thinking. Okay. I know that this is coming up. So let's try to put some of these pieces together. But if you didn't know that it's still super fun. Did you do you think that they tried to sync up the release with national Women's Day? Like was that on purpose? I think so, but this is one of three marvel movies this year, we've got avengers and the game coming out, and maybe falls within the avengers release dates, and then Spiderman which is coming up next. Spiderman was just coming out in the summer. So maybe Spiderman. And my husband my BFF. Husband Jake Gyllenhaal. Spidey Thomas middle aged middle aged spiting, Tom Holland's back. It's a young Spidey. It's high school. Yeah. Anyway, the two of them today like oil Russell. That is a whole different. No, we'll talk broadcast. This is the first this is the first of the marvel movies to expect this year. Yes. And tell us a little bit more about kind of what the vibe was. So the vibes that part of it explains in outer space and part of it is back here in earn on earth when she crash lands. She realizes that she once had this former life as a fighter pilot. So as the audience were getting origin story of this character Willie at the same rate that she's remembering what her past was like nineteen ninety. So there's all of that kind of throwback feel to it with a blockbuster and some winds defining and TLC selected very much has that ninety s which is a lot of fun. And it really gives a character driven me versus the big action blockbusters that some of the other ones are kind of known for so with this one like you kind of go in thinking, it's not going to be huge. It's not epic. Some of the action sequences are a little bit frantic in my opinion. But what makes up for it is Bree Larson, she is kicked by she's fiercely independent there's no room for lobbying interests. She's got a little bit of sense of humor tours. While she pairs ball with Samuel Jackson was back again as Nick fury, and they have really great chemistry together, and that banning places supreme intelligence safe. She's got a few tricks up her sleeve as well. So there really is a great cast overall. Can you tell me ticket stops and is asking questions? I'm sorry. I couldn't hear okay hold on. We'll do this. Okay. Now. Go to ask about Marvel's latest hottest character ghost the cat. Yep. We got a cat and this why which is basically a scene. Stealer. And I don't want to spoil how that comes into play. But every time that that little cats on screen. It's adorable. Do that scenes? I'm just saying can't get eaten. That's enough out of you there. The Catholics living part in this movie. Underestimate a cat, yummy, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. Yeah. Do that. Do that since none of us are going to be able to actually get out of their houses this weekend. What do we have to look forward to? At home the first one both families. He's about instant family at its with Mark Wahlberg and rose Byrne who decided to grow their family little bit later on in life through adoption. So they adopt a teenager and her two siblings. So they kind of think this'll be easy raising kids and kind of how important adoption is. And what that experience is like for parents, you did you interview them. Yes. You Mark and rose and Tig Notaro and Julie Hagerty, the writer and director, Sean Anders, and it was really great to talk to them about our own story with adoption right now and to get parenting advice from them which super core. Those interviews are on my YouTube channel posher two movies on YouTube. I love talking to them. And I always get a newfound respect for the way, you get to talk to them on kind of person to person level and both Mark and rose are really funny in this movie too. So it's heartwarming, but finding at the same time how many tickets for instant family as well. Okay. And the other one we've got about a minute creed to Latin Italian Silvester and hardy, Michael Jordan, I loved this movie far more than I thought I would because what decree movies are doing is showing that this story is far more than just a boxing movie. Donnas. Creed is kind of try is wants to avenge his father's by going into the ring against Victor Drago. I haven't Drago San that happening rocky for anyway. And at this time, he starting to raise a family, and that idea of can I have the career that I want, and I think I deserve. And what does that mean when I start to raise a family, and how can you have them both at the same time to carry on his dad's legacy to be his own fighter. And then to be a father, this movie really is about fathers and sons on that relationship between them I I was crying by the end in a way that I didn't think that I would just because I have fatherhood on the brain right now. It really meant a lot to me this movie. A you know, I think that my kids just watched this one with my husband. Yes, they are all about and they've been asking about it for weeks. And so I think I think that they did just watch regularly into it. But they loved it harder. And so how many tickets giving it four and five. Okay. I mean, Michael joins great Felicia. Rashad is.

"That's the truth. He's in Rwanda. We will be hopefully checking in with him periodically throughout the week. Holly Roberts, and I are here with you and till three o'clock today. And the big news today is that Holly the Oscar nominations Oscar nominations for the ninety first annual Academy Awards announced this morning, Tracy Ellis Ross and kumail nangiani did the otter auto daughters they shared, and they were so cute, though, they be honors of announcing the nominees for this year's Academy Awards. Well, now, listen you, and I could sit and sift through all of the information we could, but that would be just the two of us talking about it. Why don't we bring an expert? Into the conversation somebody who really knows movies, and that person would be our friend Paul Maguire Grimes from Paul's trip to the movies, Paul. Hello. Hi, thanks for having me on this special day. Thank you for being here. Because listen, I mean, we are casual observers of the movies, but you really are. This is part of what you traffic, and you've seen so many of these movies and facts. Is there are there any of the movies that have been nominated that you haven't seen? Yes. There are quite a few especially if you go into some of the more obscure categories like there's a movie up for best foreign called Cold War. And I have not seen that yet. It's on Amazon prime they'll for best cinematography as well. So like Andrew rocketing. So that's kind of a big name out there right now that I actually had not seen. Well, let's get started with some of the kind of the the highlights of the Oscar nominations the first thing that I that I'm curious about from you, Paul Maguire Grimes Paul's trip, the movies, check out the podcast, the YouTube channel and the website. What what do you see as some of the biggest surprises in the nominations this morning? Surprises. Some if we think about surprises in terms of snobs would be that Emily blunt kind of who we thought was going to go win potentially two nominations. If not one did not get a single one. You know, she was up for she could have been our best actress nominee, Mary Poppins return. And then about supporting actress nominee for a quiet place. She went home empty-handed this morning. And then Timothy shallow may who got the critics choice nomination a Golden Globe nomination nation and a sag nomination. Also snob this morning for best acronym. Supporting all in beautiful boy. So are you really surprised considering Timothy Shalam as performance has been nominated for so many awards was that one of the more shocking? Dismissals this morning. It works for me, especially I mean, there are some great nominees. I mean, you had Mahershala Ali Adam drivers Sam Elliott Richard glad and I think Timothy really should have beaten was Sam Rockwell for vice by spend a lot of lot today. And I think I think voters kind of went with all the actors met movie if you will, but San Mateo opinion, just kind of the Bush impression there's not a lot adapt to that farm where I really feel like there is. Charlemagne? And the interesting thing to me about vice again, this is the movie you just talked about this last week or the week prior. This one was very kind of critics were really what's the split on this? Yes. I mean that that kind of an overall theme for this award season is the huge split in the nominations. I mean, you have like there are some of the best picture nominations that I don't agree with at all and dislike you have movies like vice you have movies like bohemian rhapsody movies like green book that are very divisive amongst critics, and I'm voting members and audiences and then to see them do so well with the nominations of kind of it didn't surprise me because they've been talks. But I kind of wonder like, let's think more outside the box. That's really push ourselves with the movies that were viewing and watching and nominating. So we're talking to Paul Maguire Grimes pollster to the movies about the Academy Award nominations. They were released this morning. So let's stay with best picture, Paul. And you're saying that you're really surprised by seeing some of these films in the big category. One being bohemian rhapsody green book, and what do you think? That is now there was Khan. Remember the best picture? I mean, you know, Paul, but the best picture category was expanded about ten years ago because of some controversy surrounding the dark Knight in the fact that that film was not nominated the Batman movie for best picture. And so they changed the rules saying, you know, what we're going to be more inclusive. We're going to have up to nine films be eligible. So what do you think the academy is saying this year with always movies? I think that they are saying something about some of the diversity factors here. You know, we've got movies like black clansmen Black Panther. And then they're also going for crowd pleasers. The regardless of the content of the movie and the accuracy, whatever is crowd pleaser. And I think the same thing could be said about green book again controversy, again, we have discussion about what is this movie trying to say and doesn't say, well, you know, audiences enjoyed the movie like they love the feel good aspect about it. Even if it is controversial. And how it tells that story like said, so again, I think crowd-pleasing think people movie that people are buzzing about Black Panther being the first superhero movie to actually get back picture nomination. Historical right there. Yeah. Completely as especially when the Oscars have been plagued with that idea of oscarssowhite over the last few years. Okay. So you've mentioned Black Panther black clansmen bohemian rhapsody green book, why don't we round out kind of the rest of that category? So that people are aware of what all of those best picture that coveted best picture nominee category is. Yeah. So we also have the favorite which was needed for ten awards. That is all for that picture that is the one with Odia Kalman at Queen and that Amazon and Rachel buys all three of them getting acting nominations. A movie that is a period piece unlucky anything else. You've seen before. I really twisted way of doing a period movie acting as fantastic that whole design the whole look of it. The directing is just so creative and bizarre in funky. It's one of the reasons why I love that. So much. You also have then you have a movie that also got ten nominations is realme cute win right now for next to really put themselves out there as an Oscar contender and did it with volume. I mean, we've talked about how much money not let's put towards the marketing opera, asthma work contender. And we fear that come into play here. I'll fossil the maestro behind it had five nominations himself. Wow. That is now do, you know off the top of your head Paul if that breaks a record for individual nominations for film? Good question. And I don't know I kind of feel like it does because I can't really think of another person that would get a bath for producing a best picture directing writing at also being cinematographer. And then also getting a best foreign film nomination for producing it as well. For him as being diverse as possible. I this might be a record. I need to look into that one. And then another couple that you that we didn't even mention yet that that round out that category. A star is born also in that category. Yes. One of the best pictures of the move of the you're calling an little conversation. You're having. We need to have a rebuttal. Counterpoint borne star is boring. Oh. Born speaking to your point earlier about the best picture nominees. Addressing the populist angle. Now a stars yard was loved by both audiences and riddick's. Yes, definitely. And I think Oscar voters as I mean, we saw Bradley Cooper here. This year's while he has three nominations back picture for producing it by actor and that adapted screenplay. We were very surprised one of the biggest snobs of this year is him not getting a best director nomination. And I think his direct Hoyle debut is phenomenal. So I'm really surprised that he didn't get that best director. And then we have vice the final ace nominee this morning cracked picture again. Another movie that's extremely divisive audiences were divided on. It critic for divided on it. I didn't care for it at all. But I know other critics have had it and their talked list. Now, I think that I know I've asked you this question before, but I really think that we can talk about this enough. Paul Maguire Grimes from Paul's trip to the. Movies as we enter into award season. Because you know, this seeing all these nominees it feels like eating an elephant like how how do you get through all of these movies? So if you were to suggest to people, given what you're seeing before you the maybe the top three movies or the group of movies that you feel like are essential in order for people to get a good view of what they need to accomplish before. They see the awards to have a good view of what they're looking at movies. Would you like people to see before the award telecast thinking about who's nominated who I predict will go on to win? Here's the three movies. I think people are. Rauma actually now watch on Netflix. What you talked about. I highly recommend seeing it enough theaters. Do what round shot it just is the bigger the screen the better, but you can watch it in your hands on. Okay. Thank you. No me. Then there's green box so green book opera back picture all for best actor for Vigo Mortenson. And then Marshall Ali is also offer best actor in a supporting role. This is based on a true story, and it actually just won the producers guild award of America back picture this weekend. So that is also a really good indicator of what could go on to win back picture is green book. There's a lot of controversy surrounding it. We can have that talk at some point if you will just because again thinking about what that story is. But people should see it regardless in conversation, and then the favorite is up for ten awards as well. So if you want to crank out a ton of categories, I think those are the three movies, if you wanna really diversify the kinds of movies that you're seeing the kinds of nominations kind of stories that you're gonna watch go see those three and if you have time tack on stars barn because easily think that lady Gaga but went back song. I wouldn't mind seeing Bradley Cooper went back actor. Yeah. All right. Marching orders from Paul Maguire Grimes for Paul's trip to the movies. What movies we need to see in order to be able to watch the Oscars with some knowledge, and we got it. We gotta go. I think right. You so much for.

And when and how let me tell you one thing choline. Yes. You can watch Romo right now on Netflix. Thank you. However, if we ask Paul Maguire Grimes, I'm sure he would say the preferred method of viewing this film isn't seventy millimeters. What I've heard on the big screen. You know, what you don't have to put your pants on. When you're watching your house. Pat's watch no role Ma at home. Exactly. In a series of tweets. Pamela Anderson is giving her thoughts on who are the worst lover. She says the worst lovers. Watch porn porn is not what love looks like brave and radical men who read and who are engaged in the world. Or sexy vegans make the best lovers goodness sake. It's proven. She has no stats on that that she has her own personal stats. Yes. She does. Cool. I mean, listen I will trust that for Pamela. Anderson vegans make the best lovers. She also my own statistics on such matters. Thank you. And I will keep them too. Anderson also believes that PlayStation, specifically has led to the demise of good men who according to her has empty head disease. Also, probably found via clinical study that Anderson conducted herself. Exactly. I in her own head in her own head and Kelly Ripa isn't about fad diets anymore. She's a grown woman. She's forty eight. And she's more lax she's talking to Bon appetite, and she says her husband, Mark and Suelas has gone full Kito. Meaning he's on the Kito, Diane, which I don't mind telling you is something I could never do. I just don't have that level of discipline. She goes on to say that she eats markan Suelas buns. I bet she does. Yup. From his hamburger, so. Okay. And she says, you know, what I work out. I feel like I'm allowed. I'm forty eight. I'm entitled I'm eating whatever I want to eat, by the way, Colleen Kelly ripa's, cheap food. She says this peanut butter and jelly. I can't I we don't have enough time for me to dig deep into all of this. Just say watch out for our Roker Kelly. Yeah. Don't worry about any combs besties. All right. Well, that's all the dirt.
