"Trust the Chinese as far as I can spit. And if there's something pernicious or sinister or if they're lying, at least I'd like to know that. I don't know why we don't knock the thing down. Well, I think this is what the military has advised against right now. I think that part of the reason is because of the risk that they see from a large debris field. But part of it is also, without going into this specific episode with this balloon, a lot of times in other cases, our intelligence community wants to preserve the. Foreign reconnaissance balloons or other instruments. So that they can learn more about them. And so that is another reason why they wouldn't want to necessarily destroy it. And so we might be collecting as much intelligence on their intelligence gathering capabilities right now. Because of this particular situation. Raja, do we know where the balloon is now? And do we know if it's going to continue? Is it going to come over Illinois? It seems to be heading in this direction. What's its status? It appears to be still over Montana at last report. But I think as I said before, at that altitude, the jet stream can take these things off course. And so we don't know exactly where it will be necessarily tomorrow. However, our military is constantly monitoring at this point. Anything else, congressionally or that you're involved in right now, we should know about Raja? Well, you know, I just got named as ranking member of this select committee on the Chinese Communist Party. I think that the CCP does pose a number of threats and it's not just military, but it's also technological, as well as from an economic perspective. And I'm glad that we're coming together in a bipartisan fashion to examine them, uncover the facts and then take steps to counter the threats. I think this is extremely important for our long-term economic as well as national security posture. Raja, one last thing by my clock, I've got 30 seconds left with you. Take as much time as you like. But speaking of committee assignments, do you have anything to say about some Democrats who have been kicked off important congressional committees? Well, I think that I personally believe that certain individuals who remain on committees right now such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, who's on the oversight committee with me and Paul gosar, who's the same, who've advocated for political violence in the past. Should not be on committees if others certainly if others are being removed. And I think that's a bright line. I think that advocating for political violence goes far beyond anything that, for instance, Adam Schiff has done or anyone else. And I think that it's a real unfortunate situation because I think it encourages more of that type of rhetoric. In fact, Marjorie Taylor Greene was at a hearing with me just two days ago. And every other question every other statement she makes is belligerent and rather hostile and I think it sometimes just stunningly inaccurate, but it has been suggested that Ilhan Omar's comments have also been belligerent and threatening. And that's why she was kicked off of her committee. So just to level set what Marjorie Taylor Greene said, Greene in a video posted to our Facebook said that basically Nancy Pelosi was guilty of treason punishable by death and she liked a comment that called for execution to Pelosi as well as FBI officials. And I think that Ilhan Omar hasn't said anything even close. Dosar for his part posted an anime of himself slitting the throat of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and then attacking President Biden with swords. And again, nothing close to that has been done by anyone else to my knowledge. Certainly among the people that have been removed from our side. I know that some of them say, hey, where's your sense of humor? We didn't mean it literally

I guess they're all neo -cons, rhinos, sellouts, big government leftists too. Now these people are conservatives who understand everything that's at stake now. The existential threats all around us. Where do you think Hakeem Jeffries is today? Think he's having a party? Now the one question Matt Gaetz has not been asked is when is the last time he spoke to Hakeem Jeffries is or there any of the surrogates or any of the others in the Democrat party? Because it's interesting, Hakeem Jeffries puts out a note this morning and tells all the Democrats to vote against McCarthy when he said it was a party. I wasn't born yesterday. I didn't fall off the two. You're intelligent people. You're wise people. You know what the hell is going on too. They made a deal with the devil in the Democrat party. They made a deal with a party who has been and is destroying this country because trying they're to settle a score. Some of them are wanting to run for a higher office and they don't. So whoever the next is whoever the next speaker is might be a great person. Maybe a personal friend. I don't know. Of course they will take credit for it. They get credit for nothing. And I want to tell the media, even friendly media, there's no civil war going on here. These are eight anarchists. Nancy Mace voted This guy Buck is a creepy great between Liz Cheney and his negotiating with CNN. He should resign from Congress now and go get your damn job with CNN. Matt Gaetz, in my view, is a sleazy operator and a demigod. chosen Dale, to me, is a relatively low IQ opportunist who wants to run for the Senate again. I don't know much about the others and I don't need handed to they the power to the Democrats to take out somebody who was elected speaker. By the vast majority of the Freedom Caucus, Republican the Study Committee, these are conservatives. And the hypocrisy and the contradictions that come out of that mouth of Matt Gaetz is really unbelievable. Just because he talks like an auctioneer selling a used car doesn't mean he's substantively correct. Now what am I talking about? He goes on and on and on about how Kevin McCarthy's working with the Democrats. Really? They just voted unanimously to get rid of them. And they voted unanimously with you Mr. Gaetz. Why was that? Why did they vote unanimously to get rid of McCarthy and you voted with them? And yet, you voted with them, a unanimous Democrat party. Incredible when you think about it. Also pretty all kinds of things going on behind the scenes that you and I will never know. That the vast majority of the conservatives in the House Republican caucus won't know. If I ever vote or AOC or Bowman, then you'll know somebody's holding a gun to my head. Oh Mark, Mark. You know we had to work with the Russians to defeat Hitler. Correct. McCarthy's not Hitler. These eight opposed the most aggressive effort to cut domestic spending, discretionary perhaps in history. Perhaps in history. And they all admitted, even Andy Biggs, Mr. Anti -Convention of States, that that HR2, that was part of this, to secure the border, was and is the most conservative effort to it. do And of course Gates, who does nothing, complained that it's just a pandate, it's no big deal. And then he gets on the floor and he says, Kevin McCarthy, they passed that bill but the bill, the ward is still I open. guess he doesn't understand how a constitution works, like it or not. cannot Kevin McCarthy close the border on the border. And the Republicans in the House, not in November, in not January, not in May, not today, didn't create a $33 trillion debt. And it's shocking to me that at no time during your speech, did you mention Mitch McConnell or John Cornyn or John Thune or John Trump's there. Not once. And in no time did you mention that the most conservative members of the Senate wanted that bill passed so they could use it against

The Republican and democratic leaders of the house are creating a task force to establish a process to remove members from committees. Brian shook has the latest. Reports say House speaker Kevin McCarthy and House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries are reaching out to members to put the task force together. The process comes after fallout from McCarthy's decision to call for a vote of the full House to remove representative Ilhan Omar from the foreign affairs committee. The move by Republicans to oust Omar came after Democrats previously removed representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul gosar from committee assignments in 2021 when they had control of the House. "I'm watching this and we're really going to litigate the speaker issue when the democrats are literally destroying this country in the house of representatives done has more right now than any other body we have to take this guy on biden and the democrat you party have eight members including nancy mace who thinks mccarthy's too conservative you have eight eight members who joined a hacking jeffries who orders his democrats and they were right down the house mccarthy with eight members are going on we have three three trillion dollars yes we do and there's the biggest cut in my lifetime thirty percent being offered a thirty percent cut in domestic discretionary spending you've been there a while have you proposal ever had a like that before we've never had a proposal like this and and let me tell you i'm not saying this as an excuse but just to tell you how long our odds are up here we're in control of one half of one third of the government by a one percent majority and we have and been putting bills on the floor we have been passing bills i'd love to litigate some of the claims that were made paid and have been made publicly about this january deal because i was in the room helping uh that deal and let me tell you one thing that's not i didn't get a chance to say in my speech on the floor but i'd love to say it on your show there's supposedly this religion against any kind of continuing resolution whatsoever by the you know the rebels i use that term affectionately when i call somebody a rebel but in this case if they're not being very helpful i'm sorry i call them anarchists go right ahead well in january part of the deal with kevin mccarthy for him to become speaker was a cr at ninety eight percent if we didn't get the twelve bills done that was baked into the deal and so now they're acting like any kind of cr by the way the cr that he put on the floor was at ninety two percent you had eight percent cut across the board it was a thirty percent cut to everything but military but on average an percent eight cut and all he agreed to what he agreed to in january was a cr at ninety eight percent so he exceeded the january deal when he put that cr on the floor and there are people who said they voted against against it because they've got some religion against you know funding the government for little bit of time so we could finish our job and I also I want to remind your listeners that you know I'm not out in the news that much they may may not know who I am but I'm the guy who came to Washington D .C. during covid on March twenty seven twenty twenty and made all of these folks show up and vote on the cares act and they hated my gut that was two trillion dollars of Nancy Pelosi spending you were with me mark I remember it but the president called called me up and screamed at me that was President Trump yeah President Trump screamed at me said he would work against me he said I should be thrown out of the party for merely and I said absolutely not I support this man somebody's talking about the debt now let me ask you something congressman macy yeah did you have support from mack gates just yes yes or no no no I've never heard these guys talk about the debt passion before of you honestly I have no that's the that's the funny thing here by the way gates mack is a friend I have campaigned for him but I had support I don't want to single him out I had support from nobody I zero if I too much as went to the bathroom while I was sitting you know it left floor the to go to the bathroom nobody would take my position at the microphone to demand a recorded vote three years ago in the care that came up that's two trillion dollars and now they're saying they're vacating speaker over a hundred billion like where were you when there was a care that but anyway I was also co -author of the motion to vacate John Boehner the only member still serving who co sponsored and co -authored the motion to vacate John Boehner never voted for John Boehner never voted for Paul and and like yet I can tell you this motion to vacate speaker McCarthy is a horrible idea he he did something that Paul Ryan or John Boehner would never think to do he put three of us Chip Roy Ralph Norman and myself on the Rules Committee he gave us a blocking position on the committee that's known as the Speaker's Committee so that we could not just watch and make sure they weren't screwing the entire GOP conference by changing the rules but so that we could that steer committee and we have been on that committee we've made sure there are over 500 amendments that have gotten a vote since this summer on the appropriations bills and you can't tell me there's not regular order and he hasn't been trying to do 12 separate bills because I'm on the committee that brings all that stuff to the floor and just one final thought the people who wanted to vacate Kevin they're demanding two things that can't simultaneously be satisfied they're demanding regular order and an open transparent process while at the same time they want a predetermined outcome you can't guarantee both and Kevin Kevin never did and what you mean by that I want the public to understand is you can pass 12 appropriations bills tomorrow but they won't be what we want that's the problem you can pass whatever number 12 appropriations bill and have regular order but you can't as ensure congressman Massey is saying that they're going to do what you say they might do or they can't this is part of my problem I heard Gates up there and among other things he says well great it you guys passed the greatest border security bill in our history but the border I checked the Senate has to be involved the president has to be involved the House of Representatives isn't the parliament they they don't control everything is that correct that is correct and and what speaker McCarthy January's promised condition of becoming speaker was to try he never said he would force that he could make Joe Biden sign a law or that he could get Chuck Schumer to pass it he said he would try and I believe he has tried and on the debt limit deal which so many people are upset about I all the was in negotiations in January and speaker McCarthy promised a lot of things but I don't ever remember him promising anything in exchange for raising the debt limit and I and Chip Roy may but disagree I told my colleagues who were in that room I said I wish we'd thought to him get to promise us something in exchange for raising the debt limit but we didn't think to do that and so what you know one of the reasons they wanted to vacate him is they're still relitigating that in June which has a provision in there that may save our bacon I got in in that debt limit deal a 1 % automatic cut that triggers in January it's in in April if we haven't gotten 12 bills done now they'll move heaven and earth up here in the swamp to try and undo it but that's into signed law by Joe Biden a 1 % cut if we can't get out of our own way by January it's my understanding congressman that the vast majority I just looked at numbers the vast majority of freedom caucus which is the most conservative yes although vast majority voted voted against vacating the chair that is correct in fact the overwhelming majority voted against including Lauren Boebert including Scott Perry including Chip Roy including a Donald's Byron Donald's including Dan ball people including bog Paul Gosar Andy Harris Mary Miller Ralph Norman these aren't wimps these aren't rhinos and neocons are they they not are they're the most conservative members of Congress and and some I mean speaker McCarthy even put conservatives on the Appropriations Committee like they've got a chance not just to amend these on Rules Committee or on the floor but some of those conservatives have had a chance right there in the committees that are drafting the appropriations bills and they voted all of them speaker but mccarson the knife that was handed gates which he fought hardest for frankly because remember I this was the building of one single member of the house to move the vacate the chair and that's what he did in my view agree or not that's what he was always going to do because you know what he says today he's asked could he back scalise oh yes could he back emmer emmer's a liberal can he back emmer yes he says i can back anyone but just not mccarthy does that not tell you that it's pretty damn personal the reality is don't i think there is anybody up here in our entire conference who could could satisfy the demands that my friend matt gates has made on speaker mccarthy again like trying to say i want this outcome but i also want an open but then why is he willing support to all these other guys who are not even as conservative mccarthy quite frankly

"Know the Democrats not all of them I mean I don't like to paint with the broad brush They do that to us There's some in there who are sensible very few unfortunately but some of them They're more wrong Yeah he's probably yet maybe I mean at the rest of really tier one level imbeciles I mean it's not as if we didn't warn them They overrode the judicial filibuster at the appeals court level At the appellate level and we warned them we said to Harry Reid at the time who was the leader of the Democrats in the Senate We said if you do this then we are going to dump the filibuster for the Supreme Court And it's going to kick you in the knots They didn't listen And then we warned them on this too If you're going to push for congresswoman boebert or Paul gosar Marjorie Taylor Greene or anyone else to be kicked off committees congresswoman they were warm They said you're setting a dangerous precedent that's going to come back And now it bites them in the ass and they're all acting surprising Here's the irony of me to draw up but you have Adam Schiff this lunatic whining on TikTok a Chinese Communist Party connected app And then begging for money while claiming we're fundraising off it I mean the irony is just delicious Yes well you reap what you sow And then with the help Intel committee this is completely different members who have a history of leaking lying and being in bed with a Chinese spies Do not qualify for that committee A 100%

Republicans Are Getting Their Committee Assignments
"For example, a number of red meat Republicans are being given all kinds of plum assignments on important House committees, Lauren boebert, go sir, gosar, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, are all going to be serving on judiciary, oversight, the House oversight committee is launching a myriad of investigations and on the house oversight committee will be Lauren bobert, Marjorie Taylor green Paul gosar. Kevin McCarthy is off to a great start. And the establishment class is mortified. They don't know what to do. They don't know whether to wine their fan of your scratch their watch. I just don't know. A couple of new names have appeared here. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul gosar, getting back to the deal making that happened. They were, of course, not in the same boat when it came to Kevin McCarthy, but are seen to represent the conservative wing of the Republican Party in the House. Will Democrats have a say on these investigations and to Joe Biden and his family? Well, thank God I'm not on the oversight committee. I have important stuff and work to do. I mean, they're going to spend their time talking about hunter. Biden and they've promised us a great thriller of an act of comedy. There's real work that needs to be done. In this Congress and to be able, we have put out a great deal of money, for example, and what we thought was a bipartisan initiative. And that is the infrastructure Bill. I mean, it's the biggest investment in infrastructure since Dwight Eisenhower. And we would think that Republicans would want to be able to expand on that and bring our economy forward. We've got a K shaped economy. And there are industries that are not benefiting and people who are not benefiting as much. I watched your segment earlier and you talked about how the big tech is suddenly experiencing a lot of layoffs. I mean, we got to write this economy. And, you know, rather than this clown car show that Republicans are promising us. Who Are the Republicans Against McCarthy
"If your constituency don't want you to vote for McCarthy, you don't vote for McCarthy. And if a Republican person can not come together and get votes on both sides or enough votes to win, then he can't win. You know, it's interesting that the people who have decided not to vote for McCarthy. Because if you look at the state of Arizona, I think all of our representatives. Andy Biggs, Eli crane, who else we got Paul gosar, which was people that I think very highly of. So majority of our representatives is against him. Matt Gaetz Byron Donald is now again some unapologetic. From Florida, chip Roy from Texas, some of the notable name people, I don't really know the rest of these people as well, Lauren boebert, from Colorado, you know, you got one, that's if you go with the state of Arizona, you got one, two, three people from the state of Arizona. You got one, two, it looked like two or three people from that are floridians. They're from Texas, you got at least four people from Texas on this list. A three or four people from Texas, it seems like there's a consistency here in certain states that do not want McCarthy to be the speaker.

"You bowls. They're a popular breakfast and oh so instagrammable, but big question. Are they healthy? While a soluble is made from pureed asahi berries, then topped with fruit, so it's basically a smoothie in a bowl. And just saw you buries a rich in antioxidants, and most saw Ebola will be high in fiber and vitamin C since acai is naturally bitter, many restaurants and those pre made frozen mixes use a sweetened powdered acai. So go easy on the sugary toppings like granola, chocolate, sweetened coconut, and honey. Instead try berries and chia seeds as a topping. And adding Greek yogurt to your bowl is a good way to add protein to the meal and it will keep you full longer. Bottom line and solubles can be a great way to add fruit to your diet, but watch your portion size and remember, all those toppings make it easy to go overboard on calories and sugar. They broke the glass. Everybody stays down. Yeah. The. Take your pins off. Pins off. That video, just a small piece of the harrowing experience of more than 20 House democratic lawmakers trapped above the House chamber in the gallery, as that pro Trump mob of insurrectionists stormed the capitol building one year ago today. Democratic congressman dean Phillips of Minnesota was one of those lawmakers. And he joins us now. Thank you for your time on this day. Appreciate it. And I'm looking at your pin hearing the video. Take your pin off. So the insurrectionists wouldn't know you were a member of Congress. That was the idea there. How often, how often do you relive that moment? Oh, every day. You know, it's trauma. Anybody who's been through trauma knows that when you experience a potential death situation, it changes you. But I have to say and I speak for my colleagues. It's so much less about us. The real trauma was our country's trauma. And that's what we think about every day. That's why we're on a mission to repair, to invest in the foundations of democracy and reflect on the fact that those that stormed the capitol that day and put us in that position are not the ones we're afraid of. We're afraid of the Republicans who are showing no courage. Who refused to even be here today to commemorate the day whose absence of duty at a time the country needs it the most. That's what we're fearful of. And that's what we think about every day. Does that tell you you want this day to be called democracy day? I do want to commemorate this day as democracy day. Does the fact that you have no republic Dick Cheney, the former vice president on the floor with his daughter and applause to them for standing up for the constitution for putting country ahead of party on this day. But that's it. That's it. So as you and what you call the gallery group, try to have this conversation, not your fault, but one year later, or things better, or are they worse? They're worse. I mean, I can't lie. The culture in Congress is damaged. But it's not all lost. And I have to say, there is an anchor tainment industry in America, too, that is making things a little bit worse than the reality. We're all human beings. Every one of us in Congress and there are a lot of good people and there are a lot of good Republicans. But there are scared and they're afraid and they're fearful. And that is the problem. We have to find an antidote to that. I celebrate, by the way, Liz Cheney and Dick Cheney for being here today. That courage is a rare commodity right now. And I have to tell you the spirit of self preservation always being placed above principle is what we have to change every one of us. I want Dana bash to join the conversation as I do so. I just want to read. This is what Dick Cheney told ABC after down on the House floor. I'm deeply disappointed. We don't have better leadership in the GOP to restore the constitution. It's very telling. And you walk those halls every day, you are talking to Republicans, and you just mentioned that you're all human beings. What conversations do you have with Republicans who are scared in your words to not be here today? They know better, right? They do, Dana, I actually reflect back on January 6th right after the insurrection. We all retreated to a safe room. There were probably a few more than a few dozen of us. Democrats and Republicans, all of whom had been together in the chamber. Now, in a room together, and there was a remarkable but very fleeting moment of unity in which every single person in that room recognized our duty to go back in the chamber and get the job done. And more importantly, to hold accountable those that had incited it. And it's the erosion of that. The dissipation of that intention that really, really troubles us. And my conversations with many of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are very human ones. And behind the scenes, in their private reflections, are very different than their public ones. And that is this culture of fear. They are fearful for their safety, their fearful for their families safety, one of my dearest friends in Congress is resigning because of that fear I believe. And that's shameful. That, I think, is the great problem that we have to rectify. Who's that? Who do you think is designing because of fear? You know, I don't want to, I think it would be unfair to him to say his name. But it's a feeling felt by many. On that day, on that day, you shouted out at Paul gosar, one of your Republican colleagues saying that you believed he and people like him had created the environment where this was possible. A year later, the man who would be Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy says, Paul gosar would get his committee assignments back. If he's Speaker of the House. And in the years since Paul gosar posted that video that he calls it a cartoon an anime video in which he killed his character kills a democratic member of Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and then threatens the president of the United States. How do you pierce through? How do you puncture through to improve that climate? I scream that, John, I scream, this is because of you, because it was. And I spoke for tens of millions of Americans who had seen this slow motion train wreck from the election day to that certification day. Right in front of our eyes. And I don't like to break decorum. I'm not a screamer. I have a high threshold for anger. But I had to scream it. And it was true. And from that podium, he screamed back, shut up. And how do we address that? And we have to recognize that we've got 800 people now charged with crimes that day, insurrectionists, rioters. But the ones that incited it that inspired it that enabled it and that continued continue to walk the halls of Congress and Mar-a-Lago. That's how we hold people to account. They are the responsible ones. And I think the January 6th commission will uncover that. And then it's up to Americans. Democracy requires every one of us to participate. It's the will of the people. If the will of Americans is to hold people who account, we will. But we have to send people to Congress populate Congress with those that put that integrity first. Congressman, you say it's not about you. It's about what happened to democracy. But the fact is that you were in that gallery in the house behind us. You were there. You were a potential victim. I mean, you were a victim. And so we, as. Parts of civilizations, always remember moments like that and rely on people like you to tell us for history's sake. So tell us what it was like to be in there. It was awful. And I reflect again on it was awful for the country. For those of us inside, of course, it was trauma. There were about 20 minutes where we thought being taken hostage would be the best case scenario. To see and be sitting next to colleagues who were texting and calling loved ones, saying goodbye. Are not feelings I'll ever forget. It's analogous to perhaps being on an airplane that you know might be going down. And those last moments. And it seems trivial in hindsight, because perhaps we were not as at risk as maybe we thought we were at that moment, but it lives with us. But I want to convert that anger and that trauma to gratitude. We're hosting a lunch right now across the street at the capitol for 800 capitol police officers and capital staff who are unheralded underappreciated under recognized for what they do every day, but particularly on that date to save us to save the capital and give us another day to do what's right. But it was an awful day and not just for members of Congress. Staffers and journalists, the capitol police officers, many of whom some of whom have taken their lives over it, some of whom have resigned. It's time for Americans to set aside policy issues and start placing the principle of preservation way above it. If we don't, there's no winner.

Brave Republicans Confront DOJ About Whitmer 'Entrapment'
"A handful of Intrepid Republicans, and it's, it shouldn't be a handful. It should be the Republicans in a unified political phalanx. But no, it takes the brave ones to go out front. And here I'm talking about, I'm gonna name them. It's led by Marjorie Taylor Greene, but you've got Scott Perry, Dan bishop, Andrew Clyde, Andy Biggs, bob good, Mary Miller, Paul gosar, Andy Harris, Louie gohmert, Thomas massie Matt Gaetz, well, what are they doing? In the aftermath of the exoneration of two key defendants in the Whitmer kidnapping trial, the pressing attorney general Garland for some specific answers. Now, trying to get answers out of Garland is not an easy business. This is like going to the consigliere of Don Corleone and saying, hey, listen, we're we want to find out more about the mafia. You're actually talking to the mafia. But nevertheless, this needs to be done. And so this is a stinging letter and a demand. Of Merrick Garland copied a Christopher wray, and the questions themselves are telling, let me just read a couple of them. Who within the DoJ and the FBI knew about or was involved in the plot to kidnap governor Whitmer, tell us. Remember, this is a letter being sent by the legislators to the executive branch, which is accountable to the legislative branch. Number two, to what extent would the DoJ and the FBI motivated by the 2020 presidential election to paint political opponents as domestic terrorists specifically Vis-à-vis the plot to kidnap governor Whitmer and the events of the U.S. capitol on January 6th, 2021. In other words, this is not just at the FBI staging orchestrating infiltrating and moving along a plot. This is the FBI timing those events to coincide with an election. So the issue here being raised is the election interference, very important issue because these revelations came to light in early October of 2020.

"Yeah. Well, does so much that I'm so happy that you came and did the show. I mean, you know, I've been looking forward to standing yours, John. I like the shit you say, too. Thanks. So there's so much to talk about, yo, it's like I have a billion questions. Okay. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Yes. She called, I swear. Well, I'm sure you know this. She tweeted and called Mitt Romney, Sue Collins, and Lisa Murkowski, pro pedophiles. Because they voted in favor of katana Ji Brown Jackson. Now, how do you respond to that Joe? Well, the Republican Party John won't do a fucking thing. Kevin McCarthy, who I served with is a tool. He won't do a fucking thing. Because here's what everybody needs to know. Marjorie among Republicans, Marjorie Taylor Greene is no longer fringe. Among the base, that's really mainstream. Paul gosar, Paul gosar, congressman from Arizona, who I served with. He's going to another white supremacist event and he's bragging about it. This is no longer fringe. One of America's two major political parties is like gone. Yeah, no it is. It really, I mean, and I tweeted that today. I go Marjorie Charles green is not the fringe. No. She is, she is the party. I mean, Kevin McCarthy won't ever even, you know, put her down at all. Why? 'cause she's afraid to lose his Speaker of the House gig. 'cause Kevin Kevin McCarthy knows where Republican voters stand. And right now, Marjorie Taylor Greene is more popular among Republican voters than Kevin McCarthy. I know it's hard to accept, but people need to wake. I am a former Republican. I come from that world, man. I still hear shit from these people every day. I wish I could tell everybody on MSNBC and CNN how dangerous and gone they are right now. Okay, and now I got to answer this, Joe, because you say Donald Trump has a chance of winning. Now, and then you say that Joe Biden can't speak that well. I don't agree with. I think, you know, I think his last speeches have been brilliant actually. But I will say this. Donald Trump was out there saying that we saved the airports during the Revolutionary War. I mean, how can you even think for a moment that Donald Trump has it lost it? Oh, he's fucking. He's nuts. See, hey, John. I tweeted out a couple weeks ago. I said, Joe Biden is old and he's lost a step. I said, Donald Trump is old. He's lost a step. He's nuts. He's criminal. He's corrupt. He's an authoritarian. Give me the old guy who's just lost a step any day of the week. I give you it. They're both old guys and Trump is way more nuts up in the head than Biden is. No doubt. Yeah. And Joe, how does it make you feel as a Republican? And this is how we're going to segue to Tucker Carlson, but how does it make you feel to see Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, you know, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham..

What Republicans Are Planning if They Win the House Majority
"What are Republicans going to run on? And more importantly, what are they going to do if they take back the House of Representatives? Will a newly released article from Washington examiner goes through that? What Republicans are planning to do if they win back the House majority? And we're going to go piece by piece of what they are promising their voters. And it's about time that we hold our elected officials accountable because if you're like me, you're probably exhausted and tired and cynical that Republicans keep on winning elections. And we lose the country. The parents party, the Republican Party, plans, and promises that if they take back the House of Representatives similar to the contract with America, now why Republicans do not replicate the contract with America every election cycle is beyond me, but Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans, including Jim Jordan and some phenomenal base conservatives, have said they are going to replicate the Newt Gingrich contract with America. They're going to call it commitment to America. It's not that great. I don't love that. It should be a lot more aggressive than a commitment. It should be applied, or it should be something that is unbreakable an oath, commitment sounds like something that's some shady business guy will break. Okay. Number one, here's what Republicans plan to do. I like some of this. I think this is some grassroots driven energy. Some of it's all right, but some of it is phenomenal. Pass a parent's Bill of rights, Republicans in November released draft legislation that aimed to require school districts to post curriculum publicly, require teachers to offer two in person meetings per year, prevent schools from selling or sharing student data without parent permission and require students to notify parents of violent activity on school grounds. It's really basic stuff. McCarthy said on a recent episode. Next one, China, COVID-19 accountability measures, a plan released by House Republicans trying to task force last year called for legislation to declassify information on the origins of COVID-19, prohibiting the U.S. funding from gain of function research. So here's where I think they're taking a good approach. They need to use their newfound political power for aggressive oversight. That's actually the next point. Take an aggressive oversight posture. In the minority Republicans on committees can do not have the power to compel witnesses to speak under oath, and the majority Republicans aim to use that power liberally. Particularly if they do not have a supermajority to overcome filibuster in the Senate or override any vetoes from President Biden. Republicans want to investigate the following. How we had the U.S. troops withdraw from Afghanistan and giving them $85 billion in weapons. The origins of where COVID came from, the national school board association's relationship with the Department of Justice and asked if federal agencies threatened to stop threats of violence. Also, what's happening on the U.S. Mexico border? Republicans have already issued preservation notices and document requests to relevant agencies and individuals related to these items. They're going to eliminate House rules implemented by Pelosi, kind of technical stuff like masked men not being able to vote by proxy and vote remotely. Take on big tech. They're going to put forward a framework to take on big tech calls to reform section two 30, prevent the companies from discriminating based on political affiliation, an increase their transparency. Also, back a antitrust bill that would give states attorneys attorney generals more control over where antitrust litigation is conducted, and then strip House Democrats from certain committees, in retaliation for Democrats removing Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul gosar, House Republicans plan to strip Elon Omar, saying that she should not be on the foreign affairs committee, and Adam Schiff should not be on the intelligence committee, which he's currently the chairman. Nor should Eric swalwell be on the intelligence committee or the Homeland Security committee. This is actually okay. Would you agree Connor? This is actually some pretty good

Football Global news 24 hours a day on air and on Bloomberg quick take powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts in over a 120 countries I'm Renee young and this is Bloomberg Nathan Okay we're nita thank you We're coming up to 5 49 on Wall Street live from the Bloomberg interactive broker studios This is Bloomberg daybreak I'm Nathan Hager The debate in markets over inflation and fed policy goes on and on and on Today we get the view from a noted distressed debt investor Howard marks says the fed is too slow and needs to move soon He's also weighing in on investing in China Bloomberg's Taylor Riggs sat down for a conversation with the cofounder of oaktree capital Let's see what Howard marks had to say There are people who think that the fed will keep rates low forever and that that will produce a prosperous economy and rising markets forever I don't believe it So you know and I hope you know look where we are all on this call And we're all in this business because we believe in free enterprise system And when I went to Chicago freedom was all the rage And of course he got famous and the Chicago school of economics got famous for saying that the free market is the best allocator of resources It means resources to where they'll do the most good And I think we all agree with that But we don't have a free market and money And I think we should have it because it will do a better job Now they had to cut rates and buy bonds and force pump liquidity into the system in 20 What we would have a global depression Sure of that But now that it's over they should let go of their control And I'd like to see a free market and money So the fed didn't be moving faster than they are and ease up on the free money and let investors have access to free markets Well despite what I might say they know more about their job than I do But I mean I would look I think they were too slow in the last decade And I'd like to see them move And I don't see why it has to take a year to undue stainless And you know I think that I think that they should cut rates and the treasury involves in deficit spending in the keynesian sort of way In order to support an economy which is not growing fast enough to create jobs That's the job of the fed Once the economy is growing well I think they should take take off the training wheels And so again I'm not an economist and I don't feed experts but I would have thought that it would have been great if they would have raised rates in 1314 50 When the recovery was young relatively young and spirited and so I think that our economy is doing well And I think that these things should be in the process of being reversed right now There's been a lot of perhaps comments that China is on investable And I'm a curious how you think about lending money to companies in China when at the stroke of the pen Beijing changes the rules How do you deal with that sort of headline regulatory risk Just because 5 other people refuse to stand in the path of an oncoming truck doesn't mean you should you know You shouldn't be a contrarian just for the hell of it Or an in knee jerk reaction but it's among the things that other people won't do That you should look And if China is considered uninvestable then chances are whatever risk you're thinking about bearing in China you'll be better paid To take it How is that risk for award profile in China particularly given ever grand the property sector the overleveraged Headlines is that why it looks so relatively attractive Well look we've been investing in China for the last 6 years Primarily well we own a bunch of equities but primarily buying NPLs And we've done more each year We've done it in partnership with what they call the asset management companies which are the companies that take these things off the bank's books We've done very well It's gone smoothly The process you know you talk about Beijing taking value off the stroke of a pen In theory that's possible but we've never seen it That's Howard marks Cofounder of oaktree capital giving his view on fed policy and investing.

Dc for possession of a slew of prohibited. Weapons things shetty and a bayonet. They found them in his truck which was parked outside the headquarters of the democratic national committee. I'm going to show you some images of his car and what they found. But i should tell you head of time. His truck had a number really disturbing white supremacists symbols all over it. Us capitol police. Say an officer noticed. This dodge dakota around midnight outside the dnc. It had no license plate just a us flag image in the plate holder. Where here's where it gets really disturbing swastikas painted on the side mirror. Another one inside the driver's door by the window. Capitol police say the man had a machete and bayonet both legal weapons and in see along with a number of knives the suspect a forty four year old from california allegedly told police he was on patrol expressed white supremacist ideology. He's set to face a judge tomorrow morning. This all comes as capital. Police are already on high alert today. The new capital police chief just briefed congressional leaders on the preparations ahead of saturday's pro trump justice for january six rally an event calling the riders jailed and charged in connection with the assault and the capital political prisoners. Today win house minority leader. Kevin mccarthy was asked if he thinks any members of his caucus will attend the rally. He responded. I don't think anyone is lavar. Beavers is politico's congressional reporter and is covering the lead up to saturday's rally in her most recent she reports that trump supporting members of congress will not attend and she joins me. Now i saw that reporting. I wanna ask you about it. Because i was actually surprised. Purchase tell us what the event is and why the briefing today from capitol security so there is a farmer trump official who is planning this rally basically to claimed that some of the rioters were arrested on january. Six are political prisoners because irving somehow treated unfairly federal courts stub. There is no evidence to support there being treated unfairly. but but you still have a groove of You know trump orders coming in protesting suggesting that the riot that led to six hundred arrests was somehow predicated unfairness. So that's what we're expecting to see. Saturday and officials are bracing for the potential for violence. So we are seeing the fence at temporary fence going back up around the capital. Should things get out of control. So what was the briefing today from. An who got the briefing top congressional leaders. Ause eager pelosi kevin mccarthy mitch mcconnell and chuck schumer all for them received a briefing about the potential. The threat of the rally pelosi in schumer both walked out and said that they believe that they feel much more prepared for this compared to generous six. Where we know that the intelligence reports suggested that The the intelligence wasn't being shared properly and that led to the security failures. I also talked to Mitch mcconnell walking in. And i asked him as a do you think. A leader should be encouraging their members not to be attending this than i didn't get a rough spots but those are the questions. He saw kevin mccarthy saying that he doesn't leave any of his members are. They're not entirely speaking out against the event or saying don't intend the event but they are trying to kind of basically a little bit wyant ahead of the rally without upsetting the base or members speaking out against it so this is interesting. I would have figured do so. We've seen margarita green. I think. Paul gosar matt gaetz doing things like showing up department of justice at some point sort of demanding to to see the political quote unquote political prisoners. I would've guessed they would go to this. It strikes me that there was some back and forth in that caucus about this as maybe not agree. Look to attend. Well you know i. I've there have been any kind of formal issuing of a donut. End for mccarthy. They haven't been as far as i've heard By macaroni salad. We mentioned him. I had contacted his office repeatedly. There are some who are not telling me that they are not going to attend. But moderate gain medicine copper but both been sort of on the forefront of any that there are political prisoners Do not attend intend to go. I think that there is always a risk. Politically does does turned violent lawmakers. Want to be very careful about not having their names attached to it especially after we saw a generous. Six despite the organizers promising that they're working very closely with with law enforcement future that there is not violence. But one thing that i do think that is in underlying problem for republicans that that this rally underscores is. That part of the base is just still believe. The january six is justified. Is w election is stole and that is where these republicans are input uncomfortable. Position olivia verse covers. Congress very well thank you very much appreciate it. Fresh.

"And part of the reason is is that he's got like this cult-like following of like you know busting heads and and there's a bunch of Americans like the whole often Germany. Well he's actually German though, you know, Segal's not rushing. There's no reason for it. Other than the fact that he was engaged in some sort of Bitcoin scheme over there, and whatever, but he's got dual citizenship and considers himself a Russian citizen. Yep. You know, in that regard and the NRA for example, was, you know with Maria butina and all that kind of stuff. Like there's a bunch of right-wingers who look at Russia, as a possibility. They look at it like, oh my God, run by oligarchs basically a federalist system, that's what the Republicans are talking about a republic run by the rich landowners and no one else all the votes are fake, right? And then I, you know, gay pride, parades if you want to just somebody out, if you can if, you know, if the if the Chechen Rebels seized a church you just kill everybody in their hostages included and move on Thursday. If if a doctor, if a doctor fauci in Russia, comes out and says, you need to wear masks in the and Sputnik. The vaccine does not work, they kick them out a third-floor window like this is the song which one of like the Paul goes ours or or the Ted Cruz, although I think he's too much of a wimp to go. This far. I think a lot of them, the only thing keeping them from being Next Level Russian oligarchs is that the wage Don't have the, the killer instinct or the spine for it, they're just Petty weaselly scumbags but, but they're not right, exactly? Yeah, no. No, he would totally chickened out all these, a speed, check it out, right, at that level and and luckily, that's a good thing. That means they're overly civilized in the environment that they're in, but Paul gosar. Sure. As shit. Wouldn't Paul gosar would go brown shirt and start rounding people up tomorrow. That dude was born a hundred years too late in his own mind and, and, and begs for return to the eighteen, fifties. Yeah. Hey, how speaking of Kevin McCarthy? Now, what do you make how seriously? Now he's telling, you know, the GOP, you know, if you joined this January, 6th commission off, then you can't be on any of our committees. What the fuck? Well, they have, they can't, they can't Americans know. They're supposed to be dead. Publicans like I think Mike Pence just came out and said I'm a I'm a I'm a Christian first, a conservative second and a republican third or whatever and that's important in every got a big round of applause. Never said, American never said, American wage maybe saying you could assume it. But I would I would argue you're an American first because all those other things are possible, largely because of that, I'm an American first beyond all other stuff because it's the legal protections and the fundamental rights and the Constitution that provide the, the space for me to actually be all the things I want to be, right. That's why I thought to myself a genuine Patriot, not this Pho patriotic version of things, where it's this bonsai tree of Liberty, you know, where they've just cut off anything. They don't like prune it, cut it down to shrink it so they can set it in a window and pretend they've got a forest, right? That's the that's how the, you know, the the Ted Cruz's of the world and the Kevin McCarthy's operate, but yep..

"Yeah, and you know, what do you think about Herschel Walker wants to run against Warnock and this is just typical g o p o a black man one. So let's put it on the black man up against. I mean, that's so stupid in their thought process. Like anyone's going to vote for Herschel Walker anyway, I mean, you know, he he gave up his career for Donald Trump to play for the freaking generals and the CFL if you guys remember usfl at the end of the day if he wants to run let him run off. I mean at the end of the day, it's like what we what our focus is is like amplifying the fact that you probably you're you probably have gotten your first vaccine or are scheduled for your first vaccine that he condom he's doing great that we're on we we have it infrastructure plan. You know, that's a genuine plan. Not a not a fake plan. You know, what all these crazy the Herschel Walker's of the faubourgs, you know, we just want to frame them as the crazies that they are you want to run run like, okay just they're just attention-seeking weirdos also will add to that. Sometimes people will get mad if I like, you know, if we respond to a Marjorie Taylor green or something and they're like, why are you elevating that person and my response would be I think we should Elevate these people I wage. Think we should show everybody that this is the face of the Republican party. Let them own it because in my opinion there's no difference at this point between a Nikki Haley and a Lauren beaubourg large retailer green or a Paul gosar or a Ted Cruz. They're all the same. They've all sold their souls to Trump. There is no such thing at this point as a moderate and Nikki's. Hey Nikki Haley's, yesterday proved that where she basically said. Oh, well, I'll do whatever trip wants to do. You know, it's it's all these people. I've just sell out their sellouts. They sold out to a failed dictator. They don't have any conservative values whatsoever. They're just kooky. They're all basically qanon nuts and they should all be they should all be treated as such and and everybody should know that they are these you know that they're all crazy and we stayed home we go. They're not conservative. Stop calling them conservative is one of our our always our main takeaways that we go. There's nothing conservative about inspiring and insurrection. Then there's nothing conservative about mocking the survivors of school shootings. Nothing conservative about believing Jewish space lasers are strong in California wildfires. There's nothing conservative about promoting being pro Covent. To be clear. Like I know you said that you're going to treat this like 20-24. What states are you guys focusing on all the ones where the Democrats are up for re-election is that wage is all those the states that you're focusing on in 2022. Yeah, we'll we'll probably narrow our Focus as it gets closer. I think it's important even to be doing videos for states where we might not have as much of a chance on back in just to continue reinforcing that message for the future cuz some people might be like, oh, you know Rubio is a lock in Florida. Why would you try to go into Ruby? I'm like, I'm not going to listen to these Consultants to tell you to not going to races because they've they haven't been able to win in the past. And and I think you know, it's okay if you don't want a hundred percent of the time but I think it's important to show people who these people are but I think Wisconsin is a big one I think Pennsylvania a big one. I think George is a big one more knocks like you said is going to be running again..

How the attack on Washington, DC's U.S. Capitol unfolded: A reporter's perspective
"Insurrection at the. Us capitol building on wednesday has taking stock of democracy in america. This hour we start with gray segers licko reporter for cbs news. I was in the capital on wednesday reporting mainly from the senate chamber what started as a historic day in the capital. Where for only the third time. In history congress was debating whether to overturn the votes of thousands of americans ended with violence and tragedy full. You know it's funny. I did expected to be a bit of a weird day because of the inherently unusual thing of having dozens of republicans challenge the election results in several states which is pretty much unprecedented. Mr vice president. I paul gosar from areas does the gentleman from arizona. I rise up for myself and sixty my colleagues to object to the difficult day day which would require a lot of concentration and very exactness in my report and then everything was just flipped upside down so suddenly. You can't have electron ix in the senate chamber. Would i usually do is. I'm in there for about thirty minutes or so. And then i'll come out for five minutes to write an email to my editors. Let everyone in the bureau. What's going on. So i had actually come out of the chamber and was in the press gallery writing an email and then all of a sudden i heard a senate gallery. Staffer shout pence has left. He had just been taken out of the room. And i assume that it was for security purposes and that My first thought was a. Wow i guess those protesters outside have gotten a bit more rowdy and then the next thing i knew there was a capital police officer at the door of the senate press gallery saying lock that gohmert now just shouting it through the room and i realized oh my god this is this is serious and then the officer was telling all of us who were in the press gallery outside of the chambered me to grab your stuff and you need to get inside the chamber and we are going to lock you inside. The chamber definitely kind of illegally took my took my phone and laptop into the chamber 'cause i i needed to tell my editors that i was alive and also telling my loved ones that i was okay and next thing i knew the the doors were being locked behind us. The press. gallery sort of overlooks the senate chamber floor. So it's kind of like the lip of fish bowl and the reporters are looking over this list into the fishbowl. Where all the senators are on the floor. It was very clear that something was wrong. All senators pretty much. Where on their phones standing looking extremely stressed and there were police officers. All around the doors. Senator amy klobuchar could on kind of her best mom voice and shouted a shots have been fired getaway from the doors. This is serious. There came a point where all of a sudden senators were being evacuated and it seemed for a moment that they were going to leave the reporters in the senate chamber which would have been very unfortunate as riders broke into the chamber just moments after senators had left but fortunately a senate gallery staff shouted down. You know hey what about us. Police officers just told us okay. Follow the senators. They were literally steps away

Before joe biden's inauguration trump's family appeared first drumming up the crown with incendiary rhetoric. This is donald trump's republican party. We are in this fight to the bitter end to take our country back at noon. The president took the stage further. Fueling the fire of anger and dissent. We will never give up. We will never concede it doesn't happen. You don't conceive with his death. He called on congress to reject the election results an election. He lost by seven million votes but continues to call rigged despite no evidence to walk down anyone you want but i think right here. We're going to walk down to the capital. You'll never take back our country with weakness you have to show strength and you have to be strong speaker the vice president and the united states senate by one o'clock the much anticipated joint session of congress got underway when we got to the state of arizona. A republican member of congress named paul gosar stood up to object that objection forcing the house and senate to separate and debate over on the senate side. Majority leader mitch. Mcconnell bluntly confronting his republican colleagues voters court and estates all spoke if we overrule them it would damage our republic forever as debate continued inside outside president trump supporters arriving in the mood distinctly changes demonstrators soon climbing the walls and scaffolding violently confronting law enforcement. Clear that the crowd was intent on causing harm to our officers by deploying chemical irritants police. While inside. the vice president was whisked away by the secret service as the mob moved in the entire capital went into lockdown but protesters were already inside some carrying confederate flags. Law enforcement was no match for the sheer size of the invasion officers forced to retreat in the house chamber. Lawmakers huddled in the balcony as armed security barricaded. The door

"Get is the hammer and Nigel Show. I am Jason Hammer. Big night just out, But we've got someone that smells so much better in the seat across from me, my friend Mackenzie from our news partners that wish TV Eight joins us. How are you, dear? I am fantastic. I have much more hair than night too. Well, not on your back. That's a good thing. Let's be specific. Here now. You are kind of the entertainment guru, right? You're the entertainment reporter, So we thought Here We are getting close to the end of the year. Why not? We jump in the hot tub time machine. Go back and look at the crazy year. That was 2020. From an entertainment standpoint. I think we all agree that 2020 has been a steel toed kick to the crotch. One thing that could go wrong after the other has gone wrong this year. Do we consider the death of Kobe Bryant and entertainment story Or did that moment sports or something else? We certainly do. Because he said living he was a legend. Right? And he was just the opinion. He touched so many lives. So yes, the death of Kobe Bryant was I mean, we were all just in shock. I mean, do you remember where you were? When you got the news? I was at home watching television. And I got a text from my buddy. Is it true about Kobe? Right? And I didn't know what he was talking about at the time. So I do what everybody else does. You jump on Twitter to turn on the news and you're thinking at first. This is a hoax because somebody doesn't happen with something that kills people off all the time. They're still alive. John Sena and the Rock had been killed off a million times. Right? Exactly. But that was I think the first big story of 2020 when you look back at the year, one of the stories that stick out to you. Oh, my goodness. There's so many. I mean, if we keep on this train, of course, you know that was just Locker because was on the blue wasn't like he was sick. I mean, he's young. He's got this family. I mean, Alex Trebek of obviously that was just hard really hard to watch that happen. Not not too long ago, right? Because we all grew up with him. I think that's huge. Of course. Chadwick Boseman That was just heart wrenching, And that was huge. Another shocker to me. Kelly Preston, John Travolta's beautiful wife. That's right. I didn't even know she was sick. It's It's very interesting. You know, like we talked about Chad with both men. I mean some People choose to keep it quiet, and then when they do pass, we're all shocked that, like their family was aware of what was going on with them. Regis three, We lost Regis Philbin, and that was just I grew up with him, and I felt like he was like everybody's grandpa. There's so many big names that passed away this year. But looking at some things that were actually fun. Who do the Tiger King would be like the highlight? That's why it's fun, right? We watch the show. We don't know what it's about every buzzing about it, and then we kind of like a train wreck. We can't start watching that. We've who's a scare. By asking, Would you do a killer killer Adversities Harold basket because I'm dancing with the stars, But who knew that would be like the phenomenon of of 2020 really write? That was like the perfect show at the perfect time Tiger came came along What? Everybody is locked down. That's when the quarantine really started. And we didn't know anything about Corona virus back then everybody scared last night, so we're staying at home. We're being good little soldiers doing what we're told. So we're looking for something to watch sports or canceled at this point. No new movies were coming out. And there's this hillbilly in Oklahoma And then Joe exotic. And just when you think you've seen everything at the bottom of the white trash barrel, Tiger King proves that if you lift up the barrel, there's another person with no limbs underneath. Yes, and I mean to see unemployed literally get their arm ripped off by one of these cats. And that goes back to work. Like three days later that it was like, Who are these people? It was almost too good s. Oh, thank more thankful for Tiger King. I personally am some college student. Needs to make their faces the tooth toe limb ratio in Tiger King. There's got to be some sort of mathematical equation that you could do a thesis on because not everybody had two limbs. And certainly nobody had all their teeth. I'm with you on that 1 100%. This also was the year of re boots. I feel I'm going to say the top of that list. I'm not hating on this. Not mad. It saved by the bell. I spoke to Mario Lopez about this because I was like, Yeah, they're gonna mess this up. They've done a good job. It's actually pretty funny, and I'm pretty impressed. See, Rob Kendall has Watch this and he said it sucks. There's a few episodes that don't though, so I was like I was expecting the worst of you. What's interesting to me is how they've aged like Elizabeth Berkley looks the same. You know, A C. Slater looks the same. Kerlikowske doesn't quite like the same. I still beautiful so she could still get it. Yeah, I mean, she certainly can, but it's like Mark Paul Gosar. You know Zack Morris. Not quite. The same is just interesting, right? Pressure on them when you were speaking to Mario Lopez was this a junket for the Colonel Sanders recipe for seduction film? Hey, I got actually have that coming up with Stevie on January, 13th. I will be asking because he killed it. Hosting the Tyson fight. It was just like he does so many cool things. I'm like sexy Colonel Sanders. What? And then I watched it. I saw him. I'm like Got into this. So you saw the sexy Colonel Sanders. Maybe I was pregnant. I did not watch from start to finish is going in and out, like kind of works for me, not hating on it. We're chatting with Mackenzie from Wish TV ate their entertainment reporter. Biggest entertainment stories of 2020. closing of of businesses businesses and and schools schools Gottlieb Gottlieb did did offer offer reassurance reassurance saying saying quote quote we'll we'll get get through through this this another another former former democratic democratic presidential presidential candidate candidate is is endorsing endorsing Joe Joe Biden Biden in a video on Twitter California senator Kamilla Harris threw her support behind the former vice president saying quote I believe in joke we need a leader who really does care about the people and who can therefore unify the people and I believe Joe can do that and with us right now was ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts Steve what a difference a week makes it did you anticipate Joe Biden picking up this mode the momentum this quickly no I have not I don't think anybody did I I think what we're what we're seeing though is a fascinating phenomena based on one word and that word is fear it's fear of Donald Trump and fear of Bernie Sanders Joe Biden has not been reborn as some useful charismatics move talking energetic candidates Joe Biden today is still the same Joe Biden that people have a lot of doubts about two weeks ago two months ago two years ago the difference is that Democrats have so desperate so frantic to find somebody who can beat Donald Trump that they decided that day either as a group and individually as voters and as candidates they'll camel Harris being an example of of having to rally around somebody and then choosing between Biden and Sanders the fear of Bernie Sanders is pulling the party too far to the left so there's a lot of energy around the Biden candidacy right now but in my view it's largely negative energy it's driven by fear it's driven by desperation there are not a lot of Democrats even this morning jumping up and down in Saint Joe Biden's gonna be a great candidate a great president but this negative energy is very powerful and that's what's driving this trend do you think it's now his to lose or is it too early to say that definitely has to lose end up and I think it's gonna be very difficult for Bernie Sanders to rebound here the one variable of course the one no wild card is by himself as I say he has not been report he's still the guy who can show astounding lapses of judgment he's still the guy who could make gaffes he's still the guy who can show his age very clearly he's still the guy who can appear fumbling and uncertain and in debates with Bernie Sanders and interviews it's still entirely possible for him to make damaging mistakes I think a lot of Democrats even if they rally around by they're holding their breath and hoping that Biden will get its act together and I've seen some signs a few signs of Byton improving on the stop I think he's shown a little bit more energy I think the campaign line about I'm the candidate of those who have been left behind it counted out is a defective and powerful line really echoes of a bill to written of nineteen ninety two the comeback kid although Biden's hardly a kid he's more the comeback teaser than the comeback kid and also this line of of of appealing to the concepts of dignity and civility and normalcy I think they provide a fairly stark contrast to the president who's in the oval office now but Biden is still Biden it was all of his flaws but at this point he's the Democrats best hope and it's gonna be very difficult for Sanders to capture Steve thanks for your thoughts again this morning ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts it's also worth noting that this morning one of the former
