"It's a Thanksgiving Friday, since we won't be here on Thursday and Friday from next week. And in case you're wondering what is on the menu, Tyler, the moderator and all the back room guys, they pitched in for the Thanksgiving meal. Everybody had their own specialty. We have these spatchcock maple brine turkey that Tyler, if you're watching, out there right now, checking on. And you could almost smell it from here how good that is. Green bean casserole, stuffing mashed potatoes, sweet potato, marshmallow casserole. You didn't ask for it, but you got it. Cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Who's got it better than we do? Yeah. Thanksgiving. All right, our two on the program. We will give you a World Cup preview. We did find out some tragic news that apparently Budweiser sent a bunch of Budweiser over there and then they were told that they're not able to sell the Budweiser. At the stadiums, I'm guessing Budweiser, let's say Qatar ordered this and then they shipped it over. I don't think that they shipped it over and said, hey, let us know how much you sell. They probably said, all right, we're going to take a couple $1 million worth of bud. And if you're in your suite, I think you can have Budweiser there as you're watching. It's so hot over there. Man, you're going to need a nice cold beer. Yeah. There are also a couple articles that said, they're still fanfest areas outside the stadiums where there will be beer available. So they're, but inside the state, maybe they're thinking about the safety, but other world cups have had beer. Yeah, but a little bit different in Qatar. Sure. Different rules. Very, very different, very different. Yeah, I wonder too, if it just has to do with the TV exposure part of it. It feels like all of the areas that are going to be on TV the most aren't allowed to have alcohol. But if you're in your suite and maybe they smoke the windows, so nobody can see in there as you're having some parties in there. Right. "The nuggets being hit hard by the NBA's COVID protocols. So they've already had to be without bones highland, who's come back. They're without Nikola Jokić right now who went in the other day, mister game. Now they're going to be without Jamal Murray. Who's also entered the COVID protocols. There's only like four players in the entire NBA who's currently in the protocols, and the nuggets have two of them. It happens to be their two best players. What do they call that thing? They don't call it COVID protocols. They call it a health and safety. For health and safety protocols. Just in case. Yeah, I mean, you don't mention COVID. COVID does not get mentioned in professional sports. You remember how the NFL cured COVID last year during the playoffs? They did. This went away. Listen to me. No longer existed. That's what? The only one. There's no COVID here. And look, I'm not making light of COVID. And what I'm saying is is that sort of amusing how the professional sports world has said, COVID? What is this COVID you speak of? Right. It's kind of like when the griswolds went to Wally world in med John Candy. And he said, sorry, folks. Parks close. Moves outside. Right? Same thing. I love doing that. Same thing. You love doing that. Same thing. You love design same thing. John Candy and vacation. Sure. 'cause I got Wolverine blood, Mike. Hey man, this is what you're gonna have to be doing on Sunday. Start practicing. Start practicing. I've been doing my high knees. Yeah? Here comes the airplane. They might bite. They had to write, I'm gonna write these down on my write them down on your board, especially like when you did the one with the different 80s songs, did you literally have them like all written down on your prep board? The different songs and the different lyrics, and then you check them off. Yeah, I just put a bunch of a bunch of songs, a bunch of 80s songs from a bunch of different bands that I like. One of them, though, one of them was just purely off the cuff, and I was really proud of it. Because it had snowed the day before, and then it was like sunny and 50. And I said, you know, we talked about the weather and I go, hey, that's life in the northern town. Oh, that was totally off the cuff. Off the cuff, life in northern town, genius. Yeah. So, yeah. So wrapping up the nuggets play in Dallas tonight against the Luca and the Mavs without jokic without Jamal Murray. Really? Curious to see how Michael Porter junior plays tonight. Because in the absence of jokic the other night, you're looking for MPJ, we're all looking for signs that he's ready to go to the next level, make the jump, start living up to that huge contract that he got. It's time to start acting like a leading man, you know, not just simply supporting actor, it's time to be a leading man and tonight's the night I want to see him play an act like a leading man. Right, and hey, you know what? Today is the time for is to step away from being a great shooter and start becoming a great score. Oh, there is a difference. Huge difference. Yep. And I'd like to see him start being a great scorer. By the way, I didn't even mention the dream academy. Life in the north of town. Correct. Oh, I thought that was just even two, but then I thought, you know, there's some people that don't really, it is we're in a tower. There's some youngsters out there that don't really understand great 80s tunes. Well, Peterson right here, Denver fan dot com. Man, why can't we get players like this? So Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals won the MVP award national league MVP award air judge in the American League. Paul Goldschmidt in the national league finishing third was another cardinal by the name of Nolan Arenado, perhaps you've heard of him. Yeah. He's a pretty good player. The good news is we're going to get the good news is we'll get Aaron judge, right? Oh yeah. I'm sure they're going to sign Aaron judge Aaron judge with he and Iron Man. A lot of times W yeah, you get judge and Iron Man in the same outfield. Tonight you didn't have to forget about it. So straight to the World Series. So Nolan Arenado, who will be the rocky second high of fade player this year. Third in the MVP voting. Why you didn't just call his bluff. That was always my argument that, okay, he wasn't happy. Okay, he wanted out. You betrayed the agreement that you had with him that you'd sign in and then build around him. You betrayed that. You didn't do it. But still, even when he demanded a trade, you could have told him, no. Because people are like, well, then you run the risk of him opting out of his contract and getting nothing. I said it then, and I was proven right. There was no way he was going to opt out of a contract that would still pay him a $140 million deep into his 30s. There was no way with the way that the economics of baseball were and are going that a guy that age as great as he is would opt out of his deal and still be able to sign a new deal recouping the money. That he would be opting out of him. So you should have, you should have called his bluff. Here's what you traded him for nothing and gave the card game of all the money. Here's the deal with when the players get older if they're still productive, look at Verlander. You just become a mercenary. You sign one year deals. That's how baseball works now. So why are you going to walk away from guaranteed money? I mean, that's more than generational money. That's. All the earth hands. That's that kind of. Yeah, you're not going to walk away from that. Stupid. Can't wait for the big moves that the rockies have planned for. Oh my gosh. Just right now. Ryan and the weeds. That's what they are. Planning over there right now. I'll tell you what. I reagents flying into Centennial. Here comes airplane. Here comes the airplane. So interface is going to join us here in just a second. But so we were thinking about the phrase it pays. And this is the way we're going to go because it's all about Russ. And it's all about some of the funny things that Russ has given us this year. And you, in your own inimitable style, will include it as the phrases to pay without making direct reference to us. You're just going to work them in. Yeah, this isn't going to be, hey, you know, when they went to London a couple of weeks ago, Russ was doing, nope, you're not going to do that. No, he's going to work the phrases in. This is Marx. I got to write them down. I got it right. Assignment for the phrases that pay if you just join us. He's got 5 that he needs to work into the broadcast. Yep. Here comes the airplane. Yep. Comes. The airplane. It's a good radio. Yep, write it down. I got to write it so I can read it. Here comes a big bite. Big bite. Wolverine blood. Yep. Blood. And one more. Okay. And then it's spicy. Let's run. Now you don't need to do let's ride. That's too easy. But if you can work in without making direct references to rush, if you can work in high knees, here comes the airplane, big bite, Wolverine blood,

"I'm Jim Forbes Now. this Bloomberg sports update the Yankees are now won 5 in a row, they defeated Oakland three to two, all of the runs for the Yankees coming in the top of the 5th courtesy of Aaron judge, judge hitting his 49th home run to straight away center revealed, judge leads the major links in homers with 49 and runs batted in with 109, Garrett called the winning pitcher he's now ten and 6, Cole allowed just one run on three hits over 7 plus settings, walking two and striking out 11, Wanda Peralta, his third save of the year. The former Yankee JP Sears takes the loss for Oakland and falls to 5 and one. Meanwhile in city field, the Met's stage a come from behind when as they outlast the rockies 7 to 6, courtesy of penal enso's game winning single with two outs in the bottom of the 9th, but that's had a four three lead in the 8th, but Elias Diaz cleared the basis with a double to give the rockies a 6 to four lead, the mets tied it in the 8th on a two run double by marquette. Canada doubled home a run in the 6th as well. Alonso now has 105 RBIs tying them with Paul Goldschmidt of St. Louis for the national league lead and when Diaz picked up the win in relief, speaking of the Cardinals, they lose to Atlanta 11 to four, so the braves remain two games behind the mets in the national league east. College football is back the season kicks off later today as the Big Ten Conference won't start the season off with a match up between Nebraska and northwestern. It's taking place in Dublin, Ireland. Other notable games include Wyoming against Illinois and Hawaii facing Vanderbilt. Conference USA kicks off league play during week zero as well as Charlotte faces Florida Atlantic and north Texas sent to battle it out with Texas El Paso. Tennis star Novak Djokovic says he won't compete in this year's U.S. open. This comes as Djokovic remains unvaccinated against COVID-19 and can not travel to the United States as a result. "I think the focus this year in baseball has been on the American League with the MVP and it's going to be Aaron judge. In the national league, Paul Goldschmidt, that's his second home run that he hit in that game. So right now he ranks first and average, he is second in home runs one behind the leader and first in RBIs. The last time a national leaguer won the Triple Crown. Anybody want to take a guess, and he might have been a cardinal. Might have been. I'm trying to think, yes, Pauly. The hint just helped me Jack Clark? Nope. The year was 1937. William McGee. I'm just kidding. Not that old. I think it's ducky medwick. For some reason. And I don't know if he, I think he was a cardinal for some reason. Can somebody check the last national leaguer to win the Triple Crown? But Paul Goldschmidt, you know, he was in Arizona and people talked about, oh man, that guy's pretty good. And then he goes to the Cardinals, yes, Pauly. Ducky, ducky medwick, right? His actual name was Joe Manchin. 19 37 hit three 74 for the Cardinals. Yeah. All right. Sorry, thank you. Got a waiting around for a little acknowledgment there. So he's bad in three 39. He's got 33 home runs. He got 105 RBIs. How do you get the nickname ducky? Was he hit by pitch a lot early in his career? Maybe he avoided getting hit. And he's good at I don't know why he'd be called ducky. Yes, hunt. While playing with Houston, midwick acquired the nickname ducky, some say was because he waddled like a duck when he walked. His teammates picked up on it, started calling him ducky, or even worse, ducky lucky, Joe detested the name, but it caught on it for eSports writers, routinely referred to him as ducky. Oh, okay. Thank you. You're welcome. So. You beat me through. I was saying this at the Todd, thank you. You're welcome. So I'm cute. I know. Ethan and Idaho, hi Ethan, what's on your mind?

"I think we can trust the samples at this point in the eye test, I think Nolan are not as impressed me even more than Christian walker in the fields. I think I can safely say. So I'm just like grappling with his defense. His underlying defensive metrics. Yeah. Oh my God, at 30, a third base, you know? He used to 15 DRS. He's got 16 outs above average when you convert that into runs. It's 12 is use your one 50 as 11.1. Yeah. I mean, I heard it was hitting 303 65 57. So that's like almost a one 60 WRC plus. No slouch. He's been bad at the plate. Yeah, so really, it's hard to separate the two. Like, yeah. I don't know, man. Paul Goldschmidt has two more stolen bases, so I think that that's going to be what it comes down to, Ben. Might just be those two extra bags he swiped. If the season were to end today, which would be weird 'cause they still have a bunch of games to play. Goldschmidt's got a three 82 babbitt right now, which again, like you don't necessarily have to discount that or the expected stats, which has somewhat over performed quite significantly actually. So if you think that is a little flukey, then I guess you could hold that against him. There are some people who will say, oh, this is retrospective. It doesn't matter. He got the hits. Yeah. I think there's still something to be said for whether what you did the underlying performance deserved that kind of result. Like, if you're just looking for a tie breaker, which you are, in this case, because they were literally tied wise and during the day and they're on the same team and everything. So it's hard to differentiate between them. And I haven't done a deep dive into their candidacy, obviously. There's not going to be a big difference in terms of quality of opponents faced or anything. That would be weird if you put oh no, I think I've read something very wrong with my analysis. Yeah. And I haven't really looked into the clutch Ness. I guess it looks like they've both been a clutch, if you use the fan graphs clutch definition, which is just relative to their extremely high, it doesn't mean much, but yeah, it's so preferential and when you have you're having a year like it actually strikes me as somewhat reasonable that they would be on clutch relative to themselves because of themselves is really themselves is really great. Yeah, so I don't know how you choose between them. I guess you don't because it's August 25th. So you don't actually have to. You can wait more than a month and see who finishes strong. So that's one reason why we haven't talked about this until now because there's no pressing reason to talk about it until the season is actually just about to be over. Right. And neither of us is voting in this award, I assume. I do not expect to be. I am not voting in this award. I am an awards voter I found out. Oh. Interesting. I am not yet again. Yeah, so I'm going to have to, can I say? We can't talk about what I can't talk about my vote before they're announced. Right. No, you can not but you can say that you have one. Yeah. I found out that I have an NL rookie of the year vote. Okay. It's only my second vote. Since I joined the BBW, which I'm very fancy. Yeah. Well, you can choose between some graves, probably. Looked at the leaderboard. There's a lot of doubling up in some of these award races. You're right about that where it's like, wow. These good teams have good players filled with love. Some dynamic duos here. Yeah. Today I had the following experience. I had the following, it's like a mic squared experience. So I went on vacation on Friday. And I didn't do a lot of baseball watching while I was on vacation bank because I was trying to not be working. Sure. And so I totally missed my trout coming back. From being hurt. So that was sure a pleasant surprise when I looked up yesterday and I was like, hey, did you know that that's my trope? And then today, I had the angels and raised game on before we started recording. And for a guy who has had all of entering today, he had had 50 big league played appearances in this season, I think he's added four more today. I have said that player X is a what now? About Mike Ford more than any other player in baseball this year. Did you know that Mike Ford's on the angels now, bud? I did. I didn't know that he had just been added to them. Because he has been with three other teams. Yes. Yes. Not really hit for any of them. No, he has not had on the angels now. The weird and wonderful and terrible thing about the angels is that when they pick you up, it seems like you are bad and clean up that day. Even if they just picked you up off the metaphorical scrap heap, essentially, the discard pile from other big league teams, somehow you are slotted in at the cleanup. He did go to for four. So good for Mike fort, but yeah, good for my Ford. That's not the mic that you want. Bed and clean up in that lineup ideally. Right, and now sitting here, I realize that mostly this is a continuation of the angels season long plot to just profoundly confuse us about who is on their roster by doubling up on names or having names that are quite similar. So I hope that Mike Ford does well, but if, you know, in the off season he manages to end up somewhere that doesn't also employ Mike drought. That might be less confusing to some of us, particularly if we go on vacation. Yeah. Okay. Well, it's a pleasant surprise. Oh yeah. He's back because it's often been an unpleasant surprise that he has been absent. Yeah. All right, let's finish with a little step last barrage here. If I saw something again as I will be asked and then the teaser takes you to discuss it at length and lies it pour us in a minute. Is to dance.

"Nothing here cardinals and the pitch two cools has hit deep down the left field line. Towards the wall and it is gone. A Grand Slam for Albert Pujols. It's number 6 hundred. Okay, first off, didn't shitting with the bases loaded up 6 nothing in the third inning is a mood. I appreciate that, Ollie marvel. And listen, you have to take advantage of what Albert Pujols is these days and what he is is he's raking in his final season. Just crushing it. Let's acknowledge Albert Pujols as best used in a limited role in the role that Ali marl the manager in John mosaic, the Cardinals president, have drawn up for him, is awfully compelling. Listen to this, in Albert Pujols is 45 plate appearances since the all star break. He is slashing four 15 four 67 8 54. That is an OPS of 1320. Do you know who among all the players in baseball with at least 40 plate appearances have a better OPS than that? The answer is nobody. Aaron judge, second half OPS, 1301, Shohei Ohtani ten 20. He's been awesome in the second half. Not as good as pool holes in his limited sample, Paul Goldschmidt Nolan Arenado, same thing goes. Alex Bregman will talk actually I was going to say we'll talk more about him later, but we can talk about him now because the Houston Astros on the day that the Chicago White Sox came to an agreement with Elvis Andrews to try and stabilize their shorts opposition stabilize their season the Houston Astros went and played bully and they hung the White Sox by their underwear on a wedgie nail. "I mean if he plays hundred forty five games. He's an all star if he keeps doing this So that's That's been huge putting him in that. Three spot between goldschmidt varnedoe auto. I think that's one of the kind of low key secrets to the season. They're starting to adam wainwright about that on the night they clench and he said he thought that was kind of really. What's but help bring this offense alive. But you're right the outsold as a whole impressive in. Carlson really hasn't gotten probably as much credit because he's been he's done a little more quietly. But this guy unit you nailed on the eight. He's also played one hundred forty five games. he's played a ton his opium. His opium is up to above seven. Sixty he's hitting home runs from both sides of the plate. He's become basically Nolan are not does mini-me where he just in a meeting a complimentary ways learning everything he can from nolan. This is going to be really really good for a long time. And kind of the way he plays. I think maybe doesn't get enough attention that that he deserves. Because he's quite kinda quiet kind of under the radar kind of unassuming. But when you step back and look at what he's doing and how young he is. That's important they remember how much how much growth the has in front of him. Very impressive a baiter. I'm with you man. Look i was to the point. Where if you get the production from the corners you just claim and take the defense and anything he can do on top that you say great but i never. I never thought they'd go on seventeen game winning streak and he would have more hits than anybody else on the team That's probably not gonna be expected as the baseline but if he can hold onto someone of that if he can go on runs like this from time to time than than you take that and say. Thanks i think on top of the defense and obviously the power. The the base running excellence that he's provided during this. He's i think he's been kind of the the the ignition He the way he fires guys the his kind of swagger You'd never see somebody who can make paul goldschmidt laugh like that. At least on the baseball field he's been a real kind of catalyst in even new bar to some degree. You know this kid..

"And i enjoyed his always by ben limber of the ringer. I'm not as good as the cardinals. But i am. Otherwise fis notice. Did we look. Allow me. I to say i don't believe in ghosts. Don't believe in devils magic. I think I think those are narratives that help people understand and explain their lives and phenomena. So you know. It's not for me. But i appreciate how it is for others. I will say first thing. I don't believe in. I'm sure i'm sure forced to think about it often. You know they sure. Do make me think about it and say i still think that's not true. You know. I still have to engage with that with frequency that i am often shocked by. I did not see this coming. Not just the very long winning streak that they are currently on at least as we speak but just generally the whole resurgence that they had had i kind of wrote the cardinals off at some point this season. They were kind of an after thought. We were all talking about the padres that was seemingly set for months of the season that patriots were going to be the team that won one of those wildcards and then the reds were searching. And in the cardinals. Kenneth came out of nowhere. Slow and steady until recently when it's been the opposite of that has been winning got a furious pace but yeah it seems like a lot of people are like here. We go again no. It's the cardinals and they're going to win the world series and no one wants that it seems like everyone still sorta sick of the cartels. Even though evan like won a world series in the west three years or anything but they've just made the playoffs and been a winning team or at least a kind of competitive team so consistently that i guess they're not exciting but hey they've earned it and some other teams have kind of collapsed and they're still standing there. September had their playoff odds at two point. Eight percent on springer seventh. We had them at two point eight percent and they are now and ninety nine point. Three percent yeah. What happened there. I guess we've talked about adam wainwright and how great he is been and then i guess the bullpen which was an issue earlier in the year and they were walking everyone and wild pitching everyone and having run score and hit by pitches and all sorts of nonsense and that has stopped the bullpens been better and then they've been in a solid defensive team along which is easy to overlook but it still sort of shocking that this has happened. I guess it's good players. Playing well like paul goldschmidt has been on a streak himself. Yeah and as you said they have that good defense. Which is jay. Jaffe wrote this week for fan graphs and kevin touched on in his piece on. This phenomenon has helped. You know guys like lester and hap and i gotta say. We're all excited about john. Lester and poor jay. Hap is being just as mediocre and no one's talking about him at all but you know that defense has helped those guys to achieve results that have outstripped what they were doing earlier in the season even though they aren't really pitching all that much better themselves and yeah it's just a thing that is is is it was lurking and now it is here and we must confront it and it's really a shame that it's not an even year because i probably could get a thousand words out of you know whether or devil magic were stronger like i. I'd like to engage in some false rigor on that question but the calendar didn't quite cooperate with me. Yeah tyrod yield's been good all year. Kevin wrote about edmundo's sosa has replaced. Paul diong and his not only been a good fielder but has hit as well so yeah credit to the cardinals while the padres are tire fire and while the reds of come short a bunch there have the cardinals been just biding their time winning every game. So yep we're gonna see some cardinals in the playoffs. It looks like they are surprising but not as surprising as the surprising team of the season. And that is how. I wanted to lead off. You're just by noting that our friend and recent guest means of baseball prospectus. Report at the other day that the giants are now the biggest pagoda over performers of all time. Wow so yeah pagoda. Projected them for seventy four wins this year. We're recording on friday. They have ninety nine and counting so they have outperformed their prokhoda projection by twenty five games and that puts them at the top of the list and pagodas been generating team projections since two thousand three. So we're almost up to twenty years of projections at this point and yeah they have now surpassed the two thousand twelve as were the previous leader at twenty four games over their projections. And then legendarily the twenty fifteen royals acceding by twenty two wins and the twenty twelve orioles. Another team that caused a lot of discussion twenty one wins those royals and orioles teams for a whole period. There were kind of repeated over performers lot as a molest which is not surprising at the two thousand twelve. As at twenty four wins two thousand eighteen as at twenty one wins two thousand nineteen as at twenty win so the as of surprise this a lot and then you have some royals teams that two thousand three royals and other sort of surprisingly decent team. Nineteen wins two thousand. Four dodgers nineteen wins. Two thousand five white sox worked out well for them. Nineteen wins twenty eleven. Diamondbacks nineteen wins. That was the team that had a negative run differential. I think then the two thousand eighteen red sox who were great of course nineteen wins and the twenty nineteen twins nineteen wins so the giants take their place at the top of this list and unlike some of those teams that were like run differential over performers as well the giants are just good which makes them more content take care. I didn't know that twenty five wins was the most or that the giants were the most but that feels fitting because they are basically the story of the season at least as far as team centric stories. Go i just appreciate that. A bunch of relative olds out here doing great within their best lives. It's really exciting. Mostly still younger than we are. Which is disconcerting. We dwell on that part. Ben friday seltzer and a beer open right now. So i am i am. I'm saying let us let us lean into the things we like and not the things that make us sad. Although i guess i might have heartburn in my future so true over here this is something that has been occurring to me more and more lately as i think. Oh that guy's old wait. Are you mixing chasing one with the other. Which goes i was just. You know it's important to hydrate. Because i live in the desert and so you gotta hydrate and i have a seltzer for that purpose. And then you know. Sometimes as i've said before when we recorder friday show the rest of my schedule allows. We'll have a little A little beer with our recording. It's nice 'cause i enjoyed talking to. You sends me into the weekend on a high note. It's great not double fisting beverages. It's not one after the other. I see okay by the way. I have to correct what i said there. The twenty eleven diamondbacks were not the team that overperform they run differential. I was thinking of the two thousand seven. Diamondbacks who famously outscored had a pythagorean record of seventy nine and eighty three and ended up winning ninety games in the west but the two thousand eleven diamondbacks. That was a good team. They went ninety. Four hundred sixty eight and they had the run differential of at least an eight win team. So not quite as weird. But yeah the giants. I still don't know whether they will win the western. We're still speculating about that. That has been. I think the weirdest part of the whole division races just the way that these teams win every day seemingly the giants and the dodgers than they always win on the same days and lose on the same days and and we did a stap less about that not long ago but it is just so odd to see them both winning so often and yet. The dodgers barely gaining ground. And i know it's been frustrating for our pal cruelty dodger's fan like tweeting daily of how just the experience of watching the giants and seek them somehow. Pull out win after win after win. Well rooting for them to lose. It has been a very strange but also wonderful season. I'm worried that they are like The we're going to get a netflix stock about A true crime murder and it will be these two teams conspiring to kill. Craig and i don't know what he ever did to them. You know like I guess that the giants are really mad about that The pagoda projection. They had but believe poor craig alone be decisive wondering so we can rest. Yeah yeah patrick. Dubuque of his perspective just wrote an article about the giants projection. Basically looking at like how it missed an as he noted like you wouldn't really want a projection system to have pegged the giants correctly this year. Because if you did and if you were able to find one that had anticipated this it probably would be wrong about every other team..

"That is not nearly as lot cited as it wasn't a bruised favor yesterday. With brett anderson versus miles. Mike lists cardinals plus one twenty one ten in a row. They're getting it done with timely hitting the middle of their order tyler. O.'neil paul goldschmidt nolan. Arnaldo they have come alive in the months of august and september. Yati melina is playing the audio molina baseball. we're all he does get quote unquote clutch hits and their manufacturing runs. Their starting pitching has been good. There has been amazing with a bunch of guys. I didn't even know her in the cargo on two months ago who is tj macfarlane. Who is luis garcia. Who are these guys that have come up. And absolutely dominated in the last couple months of the so for whatever reason they the markets keep making them underdogs despite them beating really really good teams during the stretch. So i won't be able to use them for dog the day but again you're gonna plus value on hottest even baseball. Plus twenty against a brewers team that they wanna beat in Even the brewers are pretty much locked up the central cardinals like the aren't going to catch him so i don't think the brewers are coasting certainly down the stretch. But i do think the cardinals obviously a play in the best baseball of anyone in the bigs right now. So plus when twenty. Consider that. But certainly like i said our favorite bet is isolating the giants get into padres team that stinking sitting out a pitcher in vince velazquez Who the picked up literally off the scrapping. I mean, it's stuff like this. That is You know, in in in certain situations, life or death now. This is either incredibly irresponsible on the part of Hunter Renfroe or somebody's lying. I can't imagine that Major league baseball Or the Red Sox would be so cavalier to just blatantly overtly lie. Like to be in cahoots, man, You know, Listen, guys. It's kind of getting out of hand. So let's go to stop administering the tests. Just take whatever they give you. Let's try to sweep this under the rug. What I mean, that would be that would be that would be what may be the biggest bombshell in forget about steroids that would be beyond comprehension. I can't believe that That's the case, but one of their players said it. They need to investigate inbounds. Are you in or are you out? Freddie Freeman is the reigning and L M V P credit. Hall of Fame caliber resume in his 12 years in Atlanta. However, the 31 year old five time All Star is a free agent at the end of the season and our buddy John Haman tweeted yesterday quote there is still a gap in negotiations, so free agency appears strongly surprisingly possibility. Hammond also said that the most obvious comparison is Paul Goldschmidt, who also at age 21 got a five year $130 million deal from the Cardinal meet at age 31. Goldsmith got it. That's why I said No, you said 20 I got. I'm just making sure we're good. We're good. Okay, good from the Cardinals that average out to about 26 year after the signing bonus, so in or out, Freeman should get at least 30 year in his next contract. Man. I like Freddie Freddie. Freddie Freeman is a baseball player, Freddie Freeman's of baseball player, and by the way, the looks of of Instagram from about a year or so goes little boy is going to be a baseball player, too. You guys see that? He just rifle that we had to be three rifle, the whiffle ball. It would mess around with his dad in the backyard. I like Freddie Freeman. I saw a good story, I guess was, I think was on ESPN like a Real long piece on his his background and his relationship with his dad. I root for Freddie Freeman. He is a very, very good baseball player. He's got the M V. P. Mike said five all stars, but he's going to be 32 in two days. If I like to keep him in Atlanta for his career, I really would like to have that happen. I mean, I I what kind of money we're talking about? Five. You know, five years of Buck 30. I'm less worried about the A V and the length of the contract. If it's five years I can swing that if it's like, seven or eight. I got.

"Doesn't throw hard. So you'd assume he gets a lot of ground balls. No, he doesn't get a ton of ground balls. Well, soft toss. You figure throws a lot of first pitch strikes throws a lot of strikes. No, the 11 Is downstairs and account two and won. His walk rate is 12%. It's almost even with his strikeout rate at 14.6%. And yet he's got a 4 28 E R. A He's been pretty good for the 21. Drilled foul right side and that'll curl off into the top deck off the first space line. So outside of those numbers, he's pretty normal. Yeah, it's bizarre, right? But you you alluded to it earlier. Here's the thing that he has been able to do You take all of that into consideration. He keeps the ball in the ballpark. Whatever you want to say in today's game, If you're a pitcher that gives up just eight homers in 88 a third innings you're doing well. 22 line to center half coming on any in half right there to make a cap. I catch he in half tonight. Going with the high sock. Look out there in center field. So one up, one down. Off to a good start there and get Dylan Carlson. Good speed, Keep them off the basis. And what was it yesterday? Was it yesterday's games, something Carlson let off. I think he had basic to lead. But then that ball that hit was hit down the line book that the fan reached over was that Carlson had hit it or was Yep. The pitch is outside to Paul Goldschmidt. That was mean that fan that was a nice catch, but he clearly reached onto the field.

"They went out to sign the whole story yesterday. Okay. Stuart is most famously known because there's picked 22 Times. Two picks after Chris Bryant in the 2013 number four overall high draft pick. Did I talkto One Scout yesterday, said this the problem with drafting high school pictures that the journey to get to the majors can could be winding and they may never get there in the way you want, so he was a high school pitcher back in 13 drafted Didn't work out with the twins. So the Cubs picked him up. That's not a big name, right? That's a project. They're probably just trying to war drum roll pre, please. They are interested in former Cy Young winner World Series champion two time no hitter. Guy Jake area. There is interest with Jake period and the Cubs area is throwing today for teams, so I don't want to say it's imminent that he's signing because of the throwing goes bad. You know that That's not gonna look good or some other if it goes really well and a contender wants to give a lot of money, So I'm not saying it's a done deal, but there is big time interest area and the Cubs. Probably start another guy chasing understand Trevor Williams. You know, it's just Barlow throw done. Yeah. Rodin's in the mix. No, he's there talking to him. Yeah. I heard Casey understand Trevor Williams most recently. But look their bodies right now. Right there. Just even area is kind of just a body coming back Now. I've actually texted with area in the last two weeks. And you know, he was a little coy about Ah lot of things. But one thing, he said, is I am healthy and I'm ready to rock and roll so If you're in the nostalgia, there could be a reunion, which a cure yet again. How much is he going to get if Lester was willing to take anything, So it is weird? Why they just said no to Lester, Despite his desire to play for basically anything in 21 now, maybe they said, no, We don't want to give you four million and 23. You know, maybe they didn't like the deferred money aspect of it. I don't know. But those are questions for Jet boy. Jesse. Any truth to them? The rumor that the Cubs are working Sean Dunstan out today. I mean, really. Came on, man. And here's here than go back to a Lester. I mean, the cardinals brought back Adam Wainwright, a one year deal member. I was talking about CC Sabathia. Ah, one year deal for Adam Wainwright. 39 years old, right here is probably gonna be in the force. What they He's a He's a cardinal. He's a cardinal, and they waited all off season. He waited all offseason. Why I was told a while ago, there was there was a wink and a nod that both Molina and Wainwright would return. But the Cardinals had to figure out their budget. Why wasn't there that weekend and nods to Jon Lester? On Bill figure things that will bring you back. He said on the air yesterday, he couldn't wait any longer for the Cubs. So a lot of strange things there a lot of strange things with these names that they're interested in. And yeah, I would be shocked if I don't know Mickey Morgan. He was on the list. Just okay. I'm just OK clarify for Cub fans. What are the Cubs doing? Like? We've talked already here in the hot stove that the Cubs as is with the moves that they make it still in the division, which is so strange, right? A team that can hit you get rid of some of the assets. So one of the Cubs doing Are they trying to win the division? Are they trying to compete or not? I thought this is a kind of a retooling. The day they traded Yu Darvish was the day they stopped competing in 21. That's that's the bottom line. But if you want a division with this, Jesse, that division sucks, But you could win, right? Yes. What starts about the Cardinals? Hold on a second done. They lost Kolten Wong. What have they done? They brought back Adam Wainwright, Who's 109 years old. He's okay. What have the Cardinals done to this two today? Nothing. They haven't subtracted alive. That's what you know, took a Gold glove second basement off their rosters didn't want to pay him right now. We'll see if they bring him back. He's still out there. Molina is gonna come back Ken Rosenthal reported last night during talks with the Rockies. Nolan Aron Adam, who had a had a really bad year. Okay. You don't want to don't know on there. You don't think they'll rebound? You don't think Paul Goldschmidt rebounded pretty well when he got traded to ST Louis, by the way, Jeff Passan just tweeted Peterson's deal. Seven million for the Cubs. Wait a minute. Where did you get the body? What everybody coming from. That's maybe a million or two more. The order would have gotten through through arbitration.
