"You might remember this in the game. Five loss to the raptors in two thousand sixteen. Which i believe was the norm powell game if i if i have that right monster monster game must've been the norm and then he also scored thirty seven in game five of the eastern conference finals versus lebron back in two thousand fourteen two. So those are some monster games but look thirty seven six thousand five when you're the go to guy like you said trae just consistently the mj like hey just get ten sort of every quarter type thing. It all adds up. He was awesome throughout the game. I thought the are lost the game in the second quarter when they had a nine or ten point lead because hit a million threes and had a couple possessions to really take complete control the game before the half and they got some turnovers some bad misses and then paul george in that stretch go back and watch sort of the end of the second quarter. He managed to keep them. I guess within five. If that's what you said there trae going into the half key hit. That's when he was attacking he missed one inside but got the rebound like twice and was sort flex and a little bit. He was instrumental in keeping the clippers within striking distance at the half and then my only final note is like this sort of felt like if you look at the game five katie masterpiece with the nets and the contributions. He was getting from uncle. Jeff and from blake griffin. It was like that game but like tone down which is so perfect. 'cause we were just joking yesterday. That paul george is like the greatest player or the greatest thirteen player of all time because he has the most all mba thirteen selections pg playing the role of key but toned down. that's fine. It wasn't forty nine. And then yeah marcus morris. Sort of a toned down version of uncle jeff. And what he did because he had twenty five points ten to sixteen from the field a lot of threes. And then reggie jackson. I guess playing the role of sort of blake griffin there with his big shots and timely shots with twenty two but like atoned. Well that was more even with reggie did. Yeah every basket. Pg thirteen. we're now calling him. He was awesome was awesome so it was. It was a great gave as an impressive victory. I feel bad for the jazz with basically having a hobbled backward or one of them not even playing. But we'll see what happens. I mean just when we think we figured out these series the opposite comes through. Upset thing happened. So i'm not. It's very weird though to be like the jazz. Have to figure out how to play defense in this. Yes we're why is that the case you know. It's the superstars are getting whatever they want. Whether it be. Paul george leonard. Previously reggie jackson can get a shot off anytime he wants to and then there are wide open. Threes for the rest of the clippers as well. I was told the jazz. We're a good defensive team. That's where they make their money. That's their basis of their team. That's their identity and they're just not able to get stops at all and that is the crazy thing to me. They've been turned into three point. Shooting offense only team and that's not their identity for the past five seasons they gotta get back to it in game six. If they're going to have any sort of a chance fifty minutes in my god do we like basketball or what. Let's take our first break to hear from our sponsors today. Many small business owners are busier than ever and because they are focused on managing and growing their business. The can always spend the time. They wish they could on recruiting. That's lincoln jobs has made it easier to find and hire the best candidates for free. And now we've reached the part of the ad copy where it asks for the host. I e me to explore personal hiring stories and experiences positive. Of course that can relate back to lincoln jobs. But i can't do that linked in jobs. I've never hired anyone downright embarrassing. I was a dishwasher. I was a window washer. I picked garlic. I was a physician recruiter. I had a paper route in a hospital very weird. I was a bar back. I worked in.

"I fourteen times. I think it was last night. Paul george leonard are in control of this series right now. I mean the jazz remained favorite because they have home court advantage here. But i've seen the two stars really step up and and again a lot of credit has to go to those too but also tyler. They've been down to in their first round series. They go out of that. Damn out to in this series and now they've you know they've swung momentum they game five is massive in this series and i would say some would say that. Yeah but the clippers. You good deputies. We have kind of fanned a away here to to penetrate and breakdown this offense Excuse me this defense and the jazz. They gave up one hundred thirty two points in game three and then last night. I think it was on the one hundred sixty nine but it was way more meaningful in. The sense of this game was certainly have a by halftime. If it wasn't by the first quarter. I have to say. I've been really impressed by the clippers. Don lewis basically said. These are my idol. Knowing goes i'm going with and that's it and he's he's sort of rube coached this team well to get back into this position after again being dano tuna series tasks what do you think badly to the jazz. A guy like mike. Conley back in the mix here. And i don't know what his status is for game five or moving forward in this series. But they could use a little jolt there to help out mitchell right now. No doubt they need a another ball handler because the clippers are ready to guard if you just watch them especially now that they've gone with essentially a point guard in four wings out there no center to start. They are ready to switch. I don't think there's a team that talks more on defense. They are chad's out there because they're switching everything and that's really taken rubik rudy gobert out of the way out of the game offensively at one point midway through the third quarter. But he's not gonna take anybody down low and dominate them and then he got going a little bit with the pick and roll from. Joe ingles that they just kind of found a little bit. They need to go inside with the switching defense. That is in front of everybody. They're doing a really really good job and they're taking away those twos because they're so quick. This is a game that the jazz win the three point battle. They hit more threes. But the clippers are doing such a good job of taking away. Everything inside really helping on donovan mitchell. Even though diamond mitchell got his again because he is that talented. But yeah the The kudos gotta go to blue for for deciding that we can win with reggie jackson at the point. And then four switchers. And paul george marcus morris and nikola have no problem stepping up and hitting big shots. There are all stepping into their shots. And yeah one hundred and eighteen points may not have been enough to beat a regular season jazz team. But when you're playing defense like this. And you get multiple. Threes from from marcus morris and the bench comes through the way. It's coming through the clippers. Yeah i think the favorite even though they're on the road they're playing like the better team. No doubt yeah they need. They desperately need conley leader. Just a break up that defendant to get to the rim bending control this series basically since the second half of game to even though the jazz got the win. It was more stake for the clippers last night and yet kudos to tie but honestly kudos to leonard and paul george back to back games with both of them having thirty then. Like you're saying task you throw in five threes from marcus morris. A pretty solid shooting performance from the clippers. All things considered. You can't give up all three. That's what i said after game three. You can't have a thirty point game a thirty point game and good shooting from the role players. I was told the jazz. Were a good defensive team. But this is easy for the clippers right now because colli leonard has taken it to another level another massive dunk last night big of a dunk. That joel embiid saw his press conference and couldn't resist commenting on it. But quite leonard doesn't have social media so evita's zubov had to tell him about joel embiid seeing his dunk during his press conference. Everything's getting around. Has probably the two best dunks in the postseason. Both after being down to the second one. I guess it was game two against the mavericks that he had its first dunk on cleveland but koiwa looks like he has really turned it into terminator mode right here. Bogdanovich had some success in games one and two of this series and that has not been the case at this point. Just got to score inside. I'm what gets asked. They gotta do something besides just shoot three pointers and rely on donovan. Mitchell here i would like to see a little bit more ingles and go bear in the pick and roll but like you're the hanley. Paul george was kind of torture. Joe ingles sell. I don't know what you're at calmly helps. Big time moves jordan. Clarkson down a little bit in the pecking order somebody else. Who can get the dr been kicked go- and but Yeah the clippers. Shout out to. Alex wong when the clippers get down. Ot ninety six sls. Whatever suddenly amazing. Maybe this was the key. They should've never got up three one last june. Yeah just morris back to him. He is a massive x factor for the clippers in these. He's he's sixteen to twenty seven so sixty percent basically on three pointers during the winds for the clips and then seven to thirty three from downtown twenty one percent in the five losses. It sure helps like when all eyes are on the two stars in pg and colli to have a guy out there like him that he can catch fire and then he starts letting it go when he sees one or two guys like. I'm shooting the next one and fair on him because he's a bit of streaky shooter. That way so he's a huge dr goodwin. This one's tied at two games apiece. Just like the hawks sixers series. Yeah we'll see what happens with conley you're right. Tk him driving in their the little floater game that we know that can hit and then just set guys up to bomb just Indefensibly conley at one hundred percent health at least is is fantastic on the perimeter and they could use some of that right now so we will see. Okay we gotta get to our guest. Let's take a quick break though to hear from our sponsors today.

"He falls flat like a figure skater. Who's fallen flat on his face. Before you got one of those skits. Well i mean the thing is once you save brian orser. Who's the other brian. That immediately comes to mind tana. Thank you falling elvis. Stojko ever come up short impressive though anyway. I think they're gonna right well agreeing with fire and one. Have you looked into game. Six tickets so is tweeting out yet. Sro are we going back down. All the counts. That was maybe like the loudest the atlanta renewed every bit. I saw some like neak bird days. And like when the celtics and hawks got into it in a series zaza petroleos involved. I think against like a guard net. That's what it was popping off too but it was loud on the broadcast and we knew people that were there like it. Up building was going insane again. I'm just like pissed off. We went to game three game four because it did seem like obviously a much more entertaining game and the crowd was going crazy. But what is game six looking like no standing rooms on sale yet. They usually don going until a little bit lighter. Listen there's a there's a watch party. You only get what game five. I want to do that. No no i will say. Yeah but friday not again. that's perfect. That's the perfect night for watching basketball. Fiqh night watching basketball. Why is it better than any other everyone at the end of the week. Everyone's excited the great seven. Thirty tip off. it's the weekend coming. You know you can always. It's not a school night. it's like schools out right now anyway. But it's just a great night's guy down everyone's having club a great line even though they lost the show to means. You don't have to be taking notes while you're watching. You can just have your big tall boy. What were you drinking a modell. I remember what you you talk that. Other michelob whatever that trash out. The modell tell is okay. Okay as long as it's not but be classically. Ls again like the bar is like one foot from us goes over to it. Do you have any perroni. No okay. i'm not going to get a modell. Drink coronas does is. You went and got it. Yeah i did it for you task. Thank you man micro bubbles. Everybody loves a micro bubble. They're all beer at an arenas over price what we do have to get there early because Standing room that that plum spot has already taken when we go. You guys like forty five minutes tip off to get there early okay. I was there ninety minutes before tip off taking into scenes. There's a lineup outside the arena. Ninety minutes before tipoff. That's how either one hawks fans are excited for best ball or two people just need things to stand outside to read. I haven't signed arena in like a year and a half. I'm going to go hang outside all right game. six down to fortress. We know we're getting that okay. Let's go the other game from last night. Quite paul george. Each scored thirty one clippers tied this series with jazz. Two games apiece. Leelee this one was. I mean look it felt over at the half for being on especially after the collide dunk Jazz what they get as close as thirteen may never felt like the in trouble. Yeah but what your takeaways from this well first off. I mean often in the nba. The first quarter is the least important but last night's game was pretty much over after that first quarter and i think this was an even more decisive victory than game three basically a continuation from that way. The clippers pulled away in the fourth. This time they just destroyed the jazz in that first. Quarter and quin snyder. Went gregg popovich called first time two minutes into the game and even then you could sort of feel like the justice. Just not ready for this game. They weren't they weren't they just didn't bring the energy and even when he did call that. Tom attic twenty nine points in the second quarter. That is just an embarrassment for the jazz team. Got fantastic offense fantastic defense just giving up at one end and not being out. A score at the other was really bad and it was looked clip of stars. Who led the way again. And i'll get to kawai just because he was brilliant but for all the slander playoff p. Has gotten he's been awesome. In the last two games and really the lobster. He had a bit of a bad shooting not in game one but the last three games. He's been much last. Not thirty one points on really efficient shooting hit the threes got to the lawn and i just thought he took really smart shots the threes when are open off a screen took those midrangers if they were there and he's sort of slivers into the line the way that he does that up and look at joe ingles again. I'm going to have to say something bad. A bad mistrial. Believe it or not. Joe ingles we know he loves to play them into games with paul george and get into his head but physically. He's way too slow to guard him on the perimeter and a couple of john. Paul george said okay. I'm just going into you. Know like we saw with trae young danny green in that in the first game of the six zero he just walks past and then he can decide. Okay i've got a mid roger here or is passing the ball really well last night but either way he kind of got whatever he wanted i think who was defended worldwide bogdanovich in the first two games. He's basically decided since. Listen much better as an offensive player than he is. And whatever the jazz a throwing at me defensively because our neal had to go adding last night clocks and bogdanovich got some time as well. He's deciding. I can beat this perimeter defender and get to that midrange if i want to go beer or favors can come in. And so he can get. It gets a pretty much uncontested shots. Ed or he was stepping back into the free and also go to the free throw line. I fourteen times. I think it was last night. Paul george leonard are in control of this series right now. I mean the jazz remained favorite because they have home court advantage here. But i've seen.

"Guess it's over shannon sharpe said it was over. You thought that it was going to be clippers in six zero. And i kept saying. I don't trust them at home because i think the mavericks enjoyed playing at staples more than the clippers. Enjoy coming up out of the basement to the lakers floor. Playing at staples. So what did i see early on. I saw a tame. Come out with a chance to step on your throat. That's what you have to do. You know this. And i know this when you have control of this series because you have done the impossible you have gone to dallas texas and you have beaten him when they made twenty. Three's on friday night. You beat them by tan. And then with lucas. My neck my shoulder. You just destroyed them on sunday night and you come home in complete charge of the series are so you thought. But you can't just walk out on the floor. Expect the mavericks to roll over and die and what happened right out of the box. I look up in the first two minutes of the game. They go up seven. Nothing the clippers miss their first four shots. You can't do that to that team because it does not like you. It's still believes that you tanked to get them to avoid the lakers because you wanted to dallas. I still don't believe that. But yet i said hey have arrested and healthy for this run and then to your point tie leuze after the game. We ask him to do too much and he got tired. No you cannot reach for that right here right now. It's the first round. It's not the finals. It's not heading to game six of the finals and stuff first round of the playoffs and he's tired home game when you have seized control. Stop it okay. So then they start to fight back in the middle of the third quarter. All of a sudden reggie jackson goes crazy out. I don't like him. He drives me out of my mind but he makes three straight threes. I look up. And they're up six there up. Seventy to sixty four was seventy one left and it's classic. Are we there yet moore the movie. Are we there yet with our man. Hugh and it's like they're looking at each other. Is that enough. Are they going to stop now or are they going to quit. No they're not going to quit. Watch what's about to happen and to your point. I did my math on it. You said twenty two to three. I got twenty five to five. Run that luca lead them on heading to the fourth quarter and it sort of climax if we could see this with my main rondo the guy i have anointed as the savior of the clippers quarterback. They've never had the leader. They've never had he shoots this the end of the third quarter. It's wide ride by two feet. It looked like to me. It's it's rondo airball and just shoots the live out of the home team because i think they do look to him. Ask your guy you're are clutch guy your guy who can save us when we need. You was giving you. Though he did hit some big shots he hit those big shots in games. Three and four it. But this was this. Is it control. He was nowhere to be found. And you'd looking at the numbers here. Rondo was over six and over three from three including that disastrous of all shots from rondo. He's pretty deadly from three. He's into a deadly one. How many times last year in the bubble did he make a big three. The lakers like a turning point three. And i thought that's gonna get me back in the game. No it's going to shoot you right in the heart shoot team in the heart so they go to the fourth quarter down fourteen. And i'm saying they are. They're done and then luca was done. I think he wore out to. I think he he saw so many defenders rondo was one of them everybody to turn on him and i think he started to wear down and out. There's hairs man. He picked him up. Started picking homecourt. Okay so all of a sudden they start to creep creep creep back into a game that i thought they had no chance of even competing it and it was because lucas going one for eight and over three from three well. He started before going to bed skill okay. There wasn't when they made for a couple of minutes that started the riot then. He couldn't put the fire out because he had gone completely cold from four and three so finally all of a sudden. I'm looking up. I am trashing them on twitter. I've done with them. I don't wanna even have to watch the end of the game and to my shock. What happens will there two players on the floor who actually wanted to compete last night and they are not named kawhi leonard and paul george and they're not named rondo. They were terence man. Who's in his second year in and he's just a baby. He's just a kid who came on late in the season and i kept isolated here on. He's a basketball player because he knows how to play and he plays his tail off. Definitely we lose in atlanta. He emerged jerry west sought from above and said he can i the other guys getting old and the other guy is they acquired nichols batumi. You a blue guide. He competes he. Looks like passive. He doesn't he doesn't wear any emotion on his sleeve face. Yup obviously teammate. Tony parker's from france and he just plays basketball at high level. He blocked shots. He steals basketballs and fittingly. Those are the two are involved in the play of the game. Not not rondo. Not paul george leonard dumb and dumber know what we had was. We had this final sequence of. We could see. We're luka turns the ball over with the bad pass of force pass and there. It is and guess who cuts in pass. Actually just a great steal by tradesman. And then paul george gives it to him. And he's got a step on luca. Terrorists man has a step on. We'll have to see it again. All you gotta do is go up strong. You can dote this. This is it for terrence man. And he's not ready for prime time. He's afraid like i'm too young. This is not my team. This is not my time. This is not my show. Could he have not shot that basketball and at the last second he gives it up to a tomb breaking down. The lane but tomb is shocked. Because he's not ready for the basketball. He's watching whether terrence may because tears man can get up now. He's strong kid. Well i'm thinking dunk it and go to the free throw line. It's gonna put you up one or two. I don't know if he could have dumped it. But i think if he could he could have gone strongly he drawn contact okay and went to the line. That's kept he was over ruby. He had already missed two free. Throws into quarters of his math. But it's just like. I'm not ready for this. This is their team. I'm just a freshman or a sophomore. If i'm the mavericks. I can't ask for better situation. The ball is not empowered georgia fan. The ball is not in kazan. isn't harassment and nichols between was actually was in their hand really really as a player. that's all. I can hope for georgia. That situation with the ball. Skip even though you thought you didn't think he play will about filed trouble. Hit did a lot of what he wanted to do. And can y definitely did not play. Well you would preferred to have the ball in their hands at point-blank against luca. Okay so nicolas batum gets the ball on the rise up high and all i all you have to do is just sort of finish it right. Just just put the ball. We see it one more time. Go ahead i know. He was shocked because he wasn't expecting the basketball. But you just what. A steelers is by terence man. This is beautiful. This is the play of the game way to go from cleber. And he gives it to paul george who gives it right back. He's something he's got something but he gives it to and goes up and looks like he's he's got something i know he's contested. But but you just don't finish the sharks vancouver to come up with under skip. He would do a lot of things. I think he had a step on. Luke and i think you could go real strong up and at least again does not. Wanna shoot the two. Does he'd missed the may be skipped. Lose not a shot. Blocker luke luke getting.

"In the mile High city. With that crowd going crazy. You almost feel like it felt it felt like that. You know what? The numbers probably don't win Game seven against the San Antonio Spurs. If that wasn't heared, Pepsi's are less that's true like that crowd like Jamal just I mean, especially a player like Jamal who just feeds off that kind of energy either positive or negative. Like you. He likes it when you bully he loves you dearly, but it is better when you boom your form. You guys. Okay? We I'm always talking about who you want to see. Step up for the Nuggets tonight. Who would you like to see the Nuggets? Shut down this evening on the Clippers side. Eliza. You can't have Paul, George and Kwai both getting 30 and then Lou Williams doing him. I think they've got to keep up what they're doing with Williams if they can. And then and then hopefully, you know, one of those two. You can limit a little bit. I mean, if you keep them in their twenties, Low twenty's anch'io shot but both your big guys have to score in their twenties. Okay? Cause is there. I mean, is there somebody outside of Paul George? A quiet you think has has cost a nugget a game so far in this series, I don't know about costing a game, but it but it drives me. I mean, you know their three best players or Paul George Leonard Lou will weigh all know that and what's going to drive me crazy If you know Marcus, more senior. Away. Mark Burton, only senior Scott Hastings senior. You know you don't want him going for 18 or something like that. They don't need any help that they have their three main dudes, and they don't need help after that. So I mean, this is I mean, There's a reason why the Clippers or one of you know, it's not the favorite to win the MBA title. They gotta be real close to that. It's a good basketball team and they have a great coach. So I mean, you got to do like a million different things. You know, a bunch of different dudes and, you know, hope. Hopefully the thing falls in your direction. But, you know, you're talking about two future Hall of Famer and Paul, George and Kawai, Leonard and heck, you know what Lou Williams might get there, too. So you know they're you know, they have a lot of weapons. They know that. Their other than Patrick Beverly. They're they're pretty calm team. They're very well disciplined and you know, it's a good basketball team. What else you want to say? I mean, they're they're good team. That's that's whether here, the one thing we haven't said today, I don't I mean, you'd be probably the only team in the N B a history that's done. If you don't want to get down 31 can to these guys because I think they're too good to lose three in a row, right? You can't what with the Nuggets to bet against Utah, and there were what 13 team and play all right, well, just 12 team in playoff history to do that. I think of how many playoff games there has been in the history. Think about how many playoff games that have been in the last two weeks. And you know you get down 31 to the Clippers man. That's gonna be a hard ass to try and win three straight games against this team. So you know, I know Doug, Mo doesn't like to use the word must win Burt unless it's a game that sends you home, But this is, uh, if it's not a must win. It's not a big It's a big All right. Finally, before we get to the keys, let me ask you this. Jamal Marie basically took credit for the lost last like he's He just came out and said, I got to be better than that game is on me. So what do you expect from Jamal this evening? You know, I don't know if he Scotty. I don't know if he got spent so emotionally in that Utah Siri's, but For me. It's not necessarily about how he shoots and what he does, but I'm going back what Hastings said earlier. He needs to get his emotion back in the game. And, you know, I don't know how you coach that. I don't know how you tell someone to do that, Um, that's just in your personality and whether he shoots it well tonight or not. A cz long as he's in the game and has that fire in his eyes. And he has that want. Denver is going to need that tonight in order to beat Los Angeles. Yeah, I I would agree. I think it's all emotion for Ah, Murray, I he's gonna figure out the shiny working. How do I make other people better not play when he saved the ball back to grant you later. I thought that was the moment for Murray that alright now the Jews could come back a little bit. And I, and I think that's a little part of that a mentality that I'm not shooting well, because when you're going to get all sad, then I get all sad because it's not about winning or losing in a U..

"With senior writer with Denver stiffs, talking all things, nuggets brand my friend. Good to good to catch up with you again man. I'm and I appreciate you having me on the show again I'm excited talk nuggets ahead of their big game tonight I'm considering tonight a must-win. So talk about okay, I liked it. This is an important game we've seen the series is already given us a law, right I love I love watching a good NBA series the the last game though I'll admit brandon. This is why basketball so perplexing. So confusing sometimes because if you're watching that first period with the nuggets on offense I, mean I'm thinking, Wow, this team has the right stuff they have what it takes to not only win this series but to do the unthinkable and get past the Lakers. Again, whoever gets there to the Western Conference finals but then you see the fourth quarter where the last six minutes just nothing so You gives you the I. Guess you get a little bit of both stories when you're watching these nuggets. I think it's key for the nuggets put together a whole forty, eight minutes and like you said, they were really good in the first half the other night they were not bad in the third quarter. But that's when it started to go downhill and then the fourth quarter was on the clippers really started to ramp up. So the nuggets just have to put that full forty eight minutes together but you have to do when you're facing title contending team like the Clippers. No question about it I mean, you do feel it. If it's a nuggets, let up a little bit. That's all it's GonNa take a quick little run by Paul George or or quiet Leonard or something big to happen defensively to really get this team going. So the nuggets have to be. In and I know. That's kind of cliche right to look at that and say, you gotta play the to play through the whistle, play this entire game but it really seems to be true with the clippers you can't let your guard down. And you the key is you have to be focused on both ends of the court to Cause George Coil under so good offensively, and defensively with the nuggets have to try to stop them defensively, which isn't an easy task to do with how many mid-range shots could make just easily and having having shots. Paul George can make from outside and then on the flip side of that. John Jamal Marriage has to try to battle against Paul George Leonard and I. Think he really is the key for the next to try to get back into the series. Yeah. I really feel again Jamal we're all waiting to still kinda see him get that can become that consistent superstar. We know he hasn't him. He can put together amazing games they don't always have to be fifty but. This is a game tonight where you're you're saying this is a must win and I, and I'm saying Kinda. The same thing but Jamal has to be the guy here joker probably fall over twenty twenty-five but you need your other star to be that guy and he's got to find a way to maybe get going early in this when you see that with Malone, would he look at the situation and say, what can we do in the first period to really get some momentum going for Jamal? Yeah, they definitely have to get Jamaa going because I. Think he's so key to their success I mean in game one when they lost him scored twelve points and you kind of consider that game wash just because it was right after game seven been game too. He comes back scores Twenty seven points and they win the game last game where they lost he'll miss scored fourteen. So I think tomorrow getting around that twenty points key for this team and you kind of saw it in the fourth quarter when he missed a couple of shots when Jeremy, grant, missed a couple of shots nuggets just couldn't really come back from it and the clippers able to. Take advantage. So I think getting Tamago on early tonight is definitely key for the nuggets to get a win. We're talking to Brandon Ewing, with Denver, stiffs, talking things, nuggets, clippers tonight a little bit of I like this. This is when you know a series of starting to get good a little bit of trash talk back and forth to the cameras you have Patrick Beverley saying, hey, Joe Yokich presents the same type of I don't know I wouldn't say problems, but he presents the same thing that Luca presents. A lot of flailing puts a lot of pressure on referees to make the right call. How did coach Malone and company react to those statements from beverly? Young coach Milan. Reacted to it. Perfectly I mean he was talking about how he doesn't really go into much. He doesn't really think about what Patrick Beverley thinks. He said of quiet Leonard with talked about it maybe he would have thought about it but I really don't know her Patrick Beverley is coming from considering the clippers about show did not get seventy to fifty four from the free throw line in the series in the last two games they've got shot on. Fifty five, twenty, seven. So I don't really know where he's coming from I think the nuggets just have to do a better job of actually getting to the free throw line is actually the complete opposite of what Patrick Beverley talking about and that's the other thing I don't understand. He says it's at the end. He pray he puts pressure on referees to make the right call like is that a good thing? Don't we want the rest to make the right call? Oh. Exactly think. He was maybe upset because you bach fouled out shortly in the fourth quarter and then. Mantras Herrell and Michael Green both picked up early fouls in that game. So they were he was probably just trying to defend their big men. But at the same time I don't really know where he was coming from and then Paul George kind of the same thing post game as well that you could says, put pressure on reps but I mean you could probably get more calls than he's getting to be honest so I hopefully, that kind of flips tonight, which is going to make Beverly George even more angry but that's good news for the nuggets. Doesn't this add some fire though to the series, and this isn't this where yes, we're talking about Joel Murray. He needs to definitely be up in that high point total but shouldn't this you want this to add some fire to a guy like Nicola Yo kitchen and let's face it. There's not always a lot of fire for the big man. He always just kind of looks pretty relaxed out there which worked for him. He puts together huge games, but maybe this could be something to really get him going early on as well. For sure and that's actually something I noticed him Alaska coaches making those big passes. He was making those big three pointers. He hit three three pointers in the third quarter. You could kind of see that emotion coming out of them, which is something I've frankly I've never seen them do so that was very exciting and like you said, I think that this is going to be a lot more physical of a series I think that the last series. The nuggets and the jazz really respected each other. You could tell Jamal and Donovan Mitchell have respect for each other and not saying that these teams don't have respect for one another. But at the same time, I think that it's just a much different thing as much higher stakes in the western conference semifinals. So I think tonight, you could see some more of that especially with the game comments that Patrick Beverley said, and then Michael followed him yesterday. Michael Porter Jr. Ins that ends the other night with eighteen points ten rebounds I. Really Loved How he got started in this game and I liked how he he was getting offensive rebounds. He was getting put back dunks easy easy for him to do right, and then he starts to use that momentum to start hitting some three point shots hitting outside shots, and then of course, he had the poster dunk too. So I really like seeing him just chip away at a not try to take too big of chunk right off the bat when he's in first few minutes. Oh absolutely I one hundred percent agree and I think that rebounding the thing he really brings to the nuggets he he got them so many second chances opportunity there's night in once he gets those he's always looking to score. He's always go looking for a put back dunk put back up just put back and put a shot up. So his his shot really hasn't been going that great in this series probably that he wanted to. But that poster dunk I think's going to get them going in hit a big night the other..

"Sean Kelley PJ color. Got to be the trouble to run by the Clippers, because if not, they're down double digits Stop. The second half of two point game back to you in Orlando has been entertaining first half that's for sure. Both teams huddling up here. We await the start of the third quarter in Game three, all knotted up game apiece. Denver 59 Clippers 57. Let's get right to your halftime adjustments. P. J. What do you foresee? Hear what he's done for the second half? Well for the Clippers, they take better care of the ball. Turnovers really got him in trouble that dug him that big old seven turnovers for nine points. They got two defensive rebound again Got Denver ahead was offensive boards. When they defensive rebounder able to run and get points in transition, and lastly, they gotta locate Lou Williams because he's m I A for Denver. They gotta get the ball out of Paul, George and Leonard's hands. Make somebody else beat him. Double him up. Do something, and they got to defend inside without fouling Biggs. Denver first at the end of our right here to strengthen third Murray pump fake from three yards Beverly Circles back to make it past two yoga feet down the right side, Elena delle Sette pivots in the lane shoots the fader and knocks it down PJ's halftime adjustments brought to you by five hour energy shots. Energy on the go. That was a tough shit by Paul Millsap tapped into the lane faded toward the free throw line and made a jumper. Now the Clippers in the white jerseys of the underwear left into the paint, dropped the ball a broken line and then needed all thought it was off the knee of Leonard. It's last touched, apparently by Denver eight on the shot clock for the Clippers. Wise, telling John Coble. He was filed. Gary Harris is such an excellent defender could help defense there. Beverly Frozen and Morris turned shoots and scores he might need to have some more looks. He's really shooting well in the Siri's start north, showing the way we did everything going down. Same way the first quarter started. There's turns down the lane Runner. No good in this Harris. It's Dex 61 59 of the left sideline. George drives. Shoots left. "The proof is in the pendulum based on sequence for a wear test, using five W 30 LeBron James. Joining Steph Curry is the only players over the last 30 years with a 30 point triple double. In a serious clinching win. They both dinner it against the Portland Trail Blazers. Overall, it has happened seven times. But LeBron is the sixth player with a 30 point triple double in a serious clinching win it again Stephan Brown, the only two to do it over the last 30 years, Lakers underground to Testi A and P. J. They await the winner between the thunder and rockets. Serious used. It is up three games to back to you. All right. Thanks a lot, Kev. And right here the Clippers with a chance to eliminate Dallas Dallas, trying to force 1/7 game Clippers PJ in this quarter, 12 7 advantage to tie the game of 41. They're doing it on the glass. Three offensive rebounds. They didn't have one in the first quarter. Both coaches talk to us. How important offensive rebounds would be has been and will be in this series. Leonard at the offensive rebounding, put back through the eye of Ra Carl. Out of the timeout out of a timeout, Trey Burke. A long three. No good rebounded. Landry. Salmon leaves it into the front court pass at Paul George Post eternal fire from 10 and then knock it home. As the Clippers take Jamal Wilkes was the one they called silky smooth. But I'll tell you what. Paul George looks exactly the same when he strokes it. Whatever he wasn't doing games two through four to Hardaway drives dotted line jumper, no ally grabs the rebound. Leonard with George Zuba, Michael Grains, Landry. Can it 43 41 Los Angeles lead 7 10 to go in the second ally spins spins back to the right passes out. George tend to shoot back to the high post. Right. He'll square from 16 around Good rebounded by Trey Burke Kg Excellent Defense versus Ohio that possession Michael Kidd Gilchrist into the game out of the timeout with birth. Seth Curry, Tim Hardaway in Mexico. There is hardly around the screen. 20 footer that silky smooth, straight title 43. They need that. Tim Hardaway Trey Burke, one of those two. In addition to set Curry has got to be major today for Rick Carlisle's team win. Hands up off my letter gets by Burke gets right to the top of the post knocks at home in a foul, a jumper and one for Kaleil entered a defensive breakdown for down in that time I was upset because the call didn't come from the official closest to the play. It came from the baseline. Shawn Corbin Burke, who was trying to do right now. Leonard called for the foul his first. I don't think there was contact there. It's a change is coming. Luca and Boban getting set to come back on the floor for Dallas head out Michael Kidd, Gilchrist so going to his bigger lineup here, with Michael Green, five on the floor for the Clippers, Slovenia and Serbia back into the game, two outstanding countries whose more basketball loving in Slovenia these days as the three point play is completed by Leonard. Absolutely. 46 43. I know they're watching. It's it's not the middle of the night in Slovenia or in Spain for this game there. Are there watching. Sure. 46 43 Clippers leave Dallas Ball 6 20 left in the half A bird on the Ark will send it to Luca about 10 ft. Beyond the strike comes out to set the screen on the switch. Harold had him now picks up on the way before we got to get rid of it off the hands of Burke into the backcourt turnover against the Dallas Mavericks. And that's because why Leonard Great job on the pump Fake by Lucas Dodge. She didn't take himself out of position. He just went right into his space at his hands up in the air. Luca couldn't shoot it. Paul George was over playing next man about that two great offensive players who really came into this league as defensive players. Why Leonard, Paul George Leonard on the offensive attack against Boban fades autumn and knocks at home from 10, both ends of the floor. Outstanding, two way player. 48 43 Clippers as well as Dallas is played. It just feels like they have to stay in touch in this game. Look a driving hard this time. Harold hits a man along for Dante, who went to the free throw line with 5 40 to go in the half. Why Leonard? Much as hell having kind of a spirited conversation there like what you had came over to help, but I think Maybe saying, Don't foul and we want you to contest the shot but one of our maid, probably the number one thing on the board is do not put Lucas on the line, but he continues to struggle. Miss their island. The rebound takes away date, forcing him out under the basket into the corner. Sam, it's triple. No good. Rebounded by Marjanovic gives it to Luca quickly. Front court 5 25 left in the half. Dallas down three, looking with a couple of bounces goes to Boban at the free throw. Back to Lucca tryto screen off ally to fight through it. Look of finds Boban right up the 10 for the easy deuce. It's why those two came in together for Rick Carlisle. Boban does a good job rolling and getting under the rim and Luca doesn't exceptional job Finding big 48 47 Clippers lead the one We go under five minutes to go in the second George against Cleveland takes a deep spins right around of dishes to Hera loads up, blocked by cleavage, knocks it across the baseline out about I really like Maxie cleavage in this Siri's is not shot the three Well, but his floor game has been exceptional and his rim protection very, very good. Especially without a pee on the floor mats comes off the floor here off the block. Five to shoot finished. Smith is in defending Get into Georgia fading three from the corner. No Long rebound. The Birkin quick tap out to Don ticks down one Dallas Luca now trying to explode toward the basket, passing the corner. Hardaway catching shoot. No good short. Nice defense by Kalai. "The shooting has been off the charts by most people here. Let's exclude the Lakers and also the ability to have This time, your executions better your ball moves Better. Your spacing and team just don't get the practice that much and they're getting the chance to do that. Here. The Clippers top five offensive efficiency to go with their top five defensive efficiency. Denver the designated home team, We got a big screen surrounding three edges of the court, say Mile high City with Nuggets logo Denver in the blue uniforms with yellow numerals Los Angeles Clippers. The white uniforms trimmed in black Yokich and zoo bots getting ready to jump center Right now we are waiting because the first game on ESPN is coming down to the final second with the Raptors out in front of the Sixers by two points, But we're about to get underway here at the advent Health arena balls away controlled by Yokich and the Nuggets, who will work it from right to left as we watch it. Here in Orlando, Yokich there, seven foot point guard to start dribbles up. They get it now the Murrays between the circles, Murray homing the ball of the right hand fires to Yokich. They like the mid range jumper that was a loop pass into the mid post story. Craig's fading away missing on the iron and rebounded by Marcus Morris Coming left to right now, Paul George has it. He'll stop at the three point line, shoots his first attempt as a miss and Michael Porter intervention averaging over nine rebounds per game here in the Double grabs one early border at 6 10 Adama's jury We only played three games sends it over to the right side. Murray using a string gets to the free throw line back to Nicola is opened for three launches and hits and the first points go to Denver should have took the first shot. I mean, he tried to pass it up, and he is a guy that has got to be a little more selfish and look for his offense. Okay. It's a 32% 3 point shooter. Three Nothing. Denver. Jackson fires one inside out, Morris, His three is a Miss Yokich on the weakside rebounds brings it across the time line from the right passing to Porter Porter lost. The handle was tipped out of bounds by July, and it'll be Denver ball here a minute 13 into this one watch. They're going, Paul! George, now over the porter. Like why Leonard? Get on the young fellas. Welcome to the lead Defending Yokich gives it upto Murray's wide open from on top is three point of bounces in and out rebounded by Zuba. You got pink shoes, right highlighter pink shoes defending now for the Clippers. They go over the whole island, and he's got Jamal Murray on him on the right leg. Trying to back him down, using that right hip into the mid post fades 15 footer off the front rim soft but won't go down and quite has the rebound. We got the highlighter green sneakers for Jamal Murray could see them from space up. Here is a passed down that Greg saves on the baseline out. Supporter Look reporter on three missed their rebounded by Morris. Three. Nothing. Denver flippers two minutes in yet to get a point. Morris works it on the right wing gives it to Kaleil entered in the right corner up, takes on Millsap drives in left hand to the elbow, backs up jumper pure alive. He sat out the last ball game prior to that 39 against Portland. Trailblazers, who, by the way, they need to play a little better defense to giving up a ton of points, But in position now as the eighth seed in the West, that all comes down tomorrow, talk about that little bit later on three to Denver, Millsap up top. He's open for a moment squares for three. It's a Mrs Juba has the Clipper rebound. Given on the near side to call George across. It sets up the right wing against Millsap dribbles between the legs screens off the defenders shoots out the top. George Missing from 20 Porter has the board. Here comes Denver the other way. Michael Porter Jr in Columbia, Missouri. And Millsap on the left baseline. Millsap in the lane Hook shot with right hand. No good rebound. George, both struggling from the field here in the opening three minutes, Flippers air, one for five number 16 George stepped to the baseline shot blocked by Porter and knocked out of bounds. And that's the edge of the game. They're waiting for the young man to show his well that offensive well, four of his six games here in the bubble, he's had 2010. He had three straight 25 10 rebound games, first for a rookie since Pal Gasol in 2002. So elegant Clippers have nine to shoot more with it down to the baseline left. He'll pull the jumper and score from 20 feet away. Clippers taken for three league He's really played well. Last four ball games about 15.5 game well, over 50% shooting yoga wide open. He thought about it a couple extra minutes seconds rather then. Shot three and missed old shooting continued. Reggie Jackson penetrates passes in the left corner. Morris waits for Mill staff to go by now drives and sends it on the window. Leonard Leonard puts it on the get goes to the free throw line shot. No good, got fouled and collide. Leonard will get himself to the free throw line. Afoul will be on the youngster Michael Porter Jr dynamic duo of Paul George Leonard just 36 games together this season. The Clippers were 26 10 when they both play 29. Paul George, 25. Well, that's here in the excuse me, but both over 50% shooting from the three point line. I think they're getting a little more comfortable together as he knocks down the first free throw. You get mad at me, But I told you the Clippers to me is the best team in the NBA, and we haven't seen the full complement enough. If in fact they do get to that full compliment. I believe they're gonna win the Western Conference. Why hits both, But I don't doubt it with talent. They have next ball question foryou. Jamal Murray spots and shoots three from a left, but it's a good time. The game is six, Murray hitting a three pointer just his third game here in the bubbles coming off the injury looks off. In the first couple of tension in the right corner, Morris said. To save it on the sideline, skips it across to Reggie Jackson and up fake drive away saved it on the end line. Six to shoot out. Morris. Quarter three Mrs. Offensive rebound out Paul George on the fresh 14 will take its time again. Story Craig thousands to do body underneath past, Jackson walled off with five finds Morris for the Open corner three. It's Mr Milsap has it for Denver, 667 39 to go in the first. LSAT blitzes into the front court runs into traffic fines. Yokich puts it off the window from Paul Millsap right there that was some kind of play a little whirling dervish leaves the air and find Jochen easy Bankers 86 lead Denver Jackson on the pick and roll. The jukebox puts it up close range, and he's been a factor he's played is good. As he has played all season here in the lobby in 10 for 10 field goal game the other day, that time defended by Zuba knocked it away. The other end, I letter gets it underneath the basket late Paul George for the two and slam and on the other end of the floor, Yokich was never in our field of view is he's bent over at the waist and try to stretch out a lower body injury. But now he's walking off with a little hitch may be just a charley horse. I think he took one Armani looks like he's gonna be okay. We will update you on the other side. I'm out Clippers on that. Paul George Dunk have a 10 8 lead over the Nuggets 702 to go first quarter. You're listening to the N B, a on ESPN radio and the ESPN at presented by indeed. Let me tell you about draft kids. Scott Foster's right against the Gamecock 41.1 of God's right again, right? Could have saved us another five minutes. They put 40.8 seconds on the clock. Clippers will have it down. 3101 to 98. What do you do here? Maybe 2 41 seconds to go before you get two for one and you get a stop. You have a chance to win a ball game to see if they just quit. Spread the floor. Let Paul George Leonard take it the distance Get into Georgetown. A letter has taken his tied loping into the front court 35 seconds to go. Not hurry passes to George George covered by green. Now we'll shoot the three. It's up with 28.4 Go ball game tied at 1144 differential. Lakers hold for one but stopping a rebound. The Clippers have time workers have one time out to the Clippers. Here's James gets up a runner thought he was fouled contact, followed it up and put it in a time out, called by the Clippers. James was looking for contact, unable to follow it up score. I think he got hit. That's why I threw it up to the rim but didn't hear the whistle. So what do you do? You follow your own shop, all right back to puts it back in the basket, and they lead by two. And Doc Rivers incense talk about second chance opportunities on they've been a problem. A Lakers In the business Second Chance points. It's only 10 here tonight, but no bigger. LeBron James, who was five for 18 for that. Go ahead basket to give the Lakers won. 03101 edge on the Clippers used one of the final two timeouts. One time out. He shot clock is off 12.8. Both teams still huddled up. And now the question is where do they go? Here down too. Well, last time they ran to play down three for Paul George to come off a double screen with top got broken up, but he put the ball on the floor and still managed to get up with tested. Three. Knock down. We'll see Doc wanna go from here? Right three and end this game or keep everybody up to play next five bonus basketball on the first day of the restart. We will get to advance the ball. Big one Big one possession game like guy on second base. Each team gets one possession. We could button death before. Here we go. Let's see. It's going to go to the top down to Reggie Jackson will inbound near side left, gets in a car with 10 seconds to go down to points. Leonard Beyond the strike, Leonard drives against James passing out with four seconds to go. George George will try a three for the win. It was not a clean look by Paul George and the Lakers get a window opened restart at Disney moved that much closer to nailing down the top seed in the West, beating the Clippers one on three. I got a look from July. Leonard when he got cut off the top of the circle. He felt like you really got the spot he wanted to be in. Paul George, really breaded l A. And that was LeBron James. He had Leonard one that stopped the first opportunity. And then he switched off. Paul George. Good job of contesting that three point shot. "You are all till you came from us. Let's jump to through the La Clippers. The Clippers are twenty seven and twelve five to since the last fifteen and sixty there now. Fifth in net rating of plus five point five. Six offense offense seventeen defense in five thirty projects them to win fifty seven games which would be second in the western conference. And we know they're gonNA make so I would ask you something here. I take your head a piece a bit ago talking about the recent Malays against it. Some bad teams. Are you at all concerned about the clippers. So at this moment when we're talking about them as being one of the favorites in the West not particularly I mean I watched a fair amount of their dessel Tori win against the worriers where the warriors largely outplayed them and team led by twelve going into the into the fourth nineteen that game and a a couple of the other ones have watched recently they have some of the hallmarks of those teams. That kind of know where they're going and it's it's been a F- for years that's been a part of the you you know third and fourth year of a of a consistent contender but remember that like for Kawhi Leonard who is at least partially tone setter for this chief seat for Naci for a a clipper team now. She's playing right now on. It's it's on over my left shoulder. That is why I turned my turn to the movement and I think I think that as a tone setter does that also remember. Paul George is still working his way back from his injury and a lot of what. I'm seeing from the clippers especially on the defensive defensive end is more just like a little bit lax not attention to detail more effort based off rather than their talents deficient and generally for me unless unless there is some sort of chemistry thing that would propped up this quickly. It's more just. This team understands that. They're not competing right now. This is the dog days of winner and he used to just before the cavs in their fourth year or the warriors all that kind of thing but now I think it's really remember tie it to players not to teams and they're they're guys here who who knows where this is going and understand that it takes time they've been eleven net rating with Guan it on the floor. They'll be fun. Yeah that's that's what I'll tell you what it comes down to me. And and you mentioned mentioned George being in and out of the lineup as well working his way back from the shoulder surgeries now. I'm not saying this team doesn't have weaknesses. I'm not saying even so that their favorite but they've also had games where they've looked good enough. The Dallas Games to Lakers Games. Where I've I'm enough of a believer? They're gonNA have some stuff to sort out Lou Williams Herald. We'll we'll see those guys have some weaknesses but not they'll be right there at the end I suspect. I don't think they're GONNA lose four one in the playoffs someone. So but let's get some of these questions here Taylor the Clark who is the best big man the clippers can realistically trade for to help solidify their defense and again. I'm GONNA break out this document that I have here of the players that I realistically expect to be a bill and trade in Hollinger and I did a whole podcast On this talking about who is available at each position. And who are the difference. Makers here is GonNa say Andre Drummond ooh You Know Tristan Thompson. WHO IS I? Don't really see the any of these guys being enough. An upgrade on Harold. Yeah there might be better defensively than herald and you might say. They've got enough offense with Lou Williams and George and Leonard that you could go with more of a defensive option. But I wouldn't want to use up all my bullets for this marginal upgraded center so that they could realistically trade for you you know. Maybe they could go after some of these guys derrick favors. Here's a if you get over stay healthy But Taj Gibson is not to be. There's not a one who's a better overall player player than heroin or even enough of an upgrade zoo botch that. I think it's realistic at this time that they would do that. I mean maybe you just want to have another option in case as an injury or ineffectiveness but yeah the nobody sticks out to me for me it depends on if mouse turner's available. I mean I think he is. You know he's more of an all around player rather rather than just a defender him. He added such good year defensively last year and there have been some steps back this year. I WANNA watch more film to kind of figure out why that why that was the case. Watch a little bit more of the Pacers in the next few three weeks but I think he could. He could be an upgrade but also turner the element that he brings is just a a confident for spacer can can really have some effects on their offense fence and allowing get spot anyway but I think that could be really interesting so I but is he realistically available available for what the clippers have to offer. I'm not entirely sure with. How Pritchard seized their frontcourt rotation moving forward and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if prichard in the Pacers WanNa see this his team at full strength and remember? They're going to get this team at full strength right before the trade line so they're not going to have enough of a sample to work with their and that also ties in with at Austin words or either way his question. Everyone seems to think. The Clippers need to upgrade at center. But do they really zoo. Botch has been holding up. Well and Harold can't play next another center on the four. I think the idea behind that which I stand by is that if they need an upgrade somewhere that is the most logical. Because when you think about Paul George Kawai their position versatility but they can't really pushed pushed the five and then they have more guard options and they have bigs and so the biggest part of this for me and why I think the answer probably still to me is yes though. It's less I definite- is that the clippers are focusing more on up to fourteen games in May and June than they are having a good regular season rating and I it could be twenty twenty one games. It could be twenty one games. But that's the point stands which is how they fare you know beating up the bottom half of the League or whether they show Malays against those teams hope that matters a little bit in terms of seating and all that but are those players what was the was is the term that Draymond US sixteen game players. That was the phrasing the phraseology use an moment. I don't know yet and that is a lot of risk when you think about a championship window. That could be narrow. I mean Jordan quietly signed are only onto plus one contracts and already left. You know. He's already made his way out of one team and then left another championship contenders so even though it seems he did that to join the clippers. It is worth kind of keeping the back of your mind and you never know about health and everything like that so I think that's the reason you do it and you can hear the time we're going up. You can answer so you're went on for a bit. There was the questioning basically. Do you agree with me that. We're not sure if you Boston Herald or sixteen gay players. Yeah I guess we're not Herrell. All is looked a little better when they've gone to switching systems. He's guarded Lebron. James Okay. Is he going to be able to guard. James Harden okay. I don't know you know. That's actually Kinda like the clippers match with the Lakers. Right now better than I do. Houston but you know. Maybe if it's Paul George. Leonard really locked in guarding hardened it can look a little bit better for them. I think you're concerned but again you're just you're wondering where the upgrade comes from. But you're right you know this isn't like the Pacers whereas like we'll get everyone healthy. Uci Out is we got a young roster. We got time guys under contract. Yeah this is one of really. There are two seasons that they have locked in before. Those guys could be free agents again again though. Not that I believe. They're looking to get out of there. Considering they're both from the area and soon to be really happy there leakers. Thirty two and seven eaten one since we last checked in on them second in the NBA plus seven point nine net rating in non-garbage Berkeley and the glass fourth on offense at worth Noting that they play up one of the League's best rates when Lebron James in and fall to pretty terrible without him fourth on defense projecting projecting for sixty two wins. Now which would be first in the western conference. They will be making the playoffs and I want to start here with Arben Bradford Does Darren. Collison moved the needle for the Lakers. There's talk now that he wants to potentially return to the NBA with the LA teams teams. HAVE GONE TO UCLA. I believe being from the La area being of interest to him. So basically you're you're putting collison in the Rondo role role. Is that how you're saying that. Danny yeah pretty much and collison. Yeah you're right. He is a native east from Rachel Cucamonga and went to Ucla. So really awoken. Ed Who's WHO's already played in. La had that year for the clippers when he was basically crisp falls under study. And I think he does move the needle for them and this Kinda ties in with another question we got because he isn't Rondo and Collison has shot over forty percent from three in his last four seasons thirty percent percent and I think he could attempt rate has never super high but remember he didn't always play on teams that valued those high temperatures. So you could see that you lie. His his highest career was five point two three pointers per one hundred possessions. That was in sac in fourteen. Fifteen and he's a good shooter for a long time. He can hit free throws so you could. You could continue and I think that you don't need perfection necessarily next James but guys who the other team has to actually put a guy ion can be really useful and Rondo. Has these strengths. I mean we've talked about his passing when when when when it's going well like Parana conducive throw awesome. Amazing has amazing out there but that part of it is less of a value. Add for me and I run A. I guess I'm going around. This allotted for ways of saying run takes. It's more off the table. And that's more important on Lebron James Team. It's easy to make the argument that for what they need. It's possible he wouldn't necessarily be an upgrade that much on Rondo the need more defense at that position. I don't think it causes a little bit better than but they're both pretty skinny. No physicality can't switch. Rondo runs a better pick and roll then calls does to me and they need with Lebron off the floor. If you're talking about just only playing when Lebron's off the floor Rondo probably helps you more there. Although as mentioned their offense with Lebron off the floor is pretty rough. Some of that hasn't been with Rondo on there but but Carlsson his shooting ability. Yeah I think he's kind of limited in the number three that he can take now as he ever played next. Lebron James No I think he you can make wide open threes but his shot form is just very elongated. He has to kind of lean forward in an odd way and so it takes them a while to get it off. So I don't think he can be a huge high-volume guy they're still probably more of a threat than Rondo. You'd say and maybe a little bit faster and transition than Rondo Rondo. They both to a pretty decent job. There I don't really love his fit shirts. Seven other option. Would he give them more than Troy. Daniels Scher go ahead and sign him but to me he wouldn't be in their closing line-up I'd rather just have Lebron and Casey P. and Danny Green Davis and a center. Or maybe you throw Kouzmin there but it go with more sizes because I take calls in..

"I understand that. You Know Marcus Morris would be a better option but he's not he's not not by leaps and bounds over marquee. Marquee is still a very good player. Having pretty good season again you shooting very well from the three point areas. It's not exactly like a huge downgrade. I'm just saying as far as a package deal because I know Detroit wanted to get off those contracts nor go ahead and and if they wanted to be interested in acquire someone like Kyle Kuzma went up but again there's the issue of not having any picks because I know no it when it comes down to it and when you're bartering between a Denver when you're bartering between a clippers when you're partnering between Utah or any of the top teams that are out there Philadelphia. Yeah what have you you you know picks are always going to be involved. The Lakers are a little bit short handed in that type of situation. So that's also the reason why when I say I don't think they're we're GonNa get this player or that player or whatnot. That's also my reasoning. When I say that as well so those are I think you're right? In that case we definitely are are ashort definitely short on picks. What what are you GonNa do you GonNa Trade for Anthony Davis or you're not gonNA trade that day? Yeah so so you made does your bed you lie into it so you know. That's that's pretty much what it comes down to. But let's like I said it's a good time though in you said it. Best the Lakers. Just have to keep on winning. And they're doing so. I mean last night's game against the Pistons a record twenty blocks just really just a block party. That was just awesome Z.. With the Lakers did not play well last night now and did not shoot. Everybody is a problem I'm they. They just overwhelmed everybody with the blocks and Dass what kept them in the game. Less you've always stayed at defense is going to keep the Lakers within this parameter. If if they want to go ahead and be at that top level and they can go ahead and try and outshoot. Everyone and their offense can get hot at a whatnot but their defense has asked to stay with it or to go ahead and beat the champions or come out at a at an NBA finals level. So we saw that last night they can have a horrible game at breath. It three quarters of what they're doing but as long as they're going head and playing defense of blocking shots that's what kept him in the game despite a horrible third quarter anti entity what it was still impressive. See so much defense so much importance late in as far as the block shots are concerned and it really frazzled. Detroit to the point especially in in the fourth quarter. Got Them intimidated and to the point where you saw the Lakers go ahead and and have that mental edge. That's so nice to have that height so nice is to have those those three players that can really do a number for you. Defensively and as long as the Lakers. Continue to win even though it's not the most depressive even though they've given up big leads in almost every game it on this homestand. They're still winning. And that's the point the clippers. They're just not focused. There's an issue there sometimes Sometimes win they have a player out like the past couple games. They've had either Paul George Leonard out you you see the issues there. They have three players that scored thirty points. Each in the same game entered their barely winning or they're barely losing and the fact is is that the rest of the team for some reason just can't get it going and gelling with them. It's something I think. Doc Rivers has got to be concerned about because they only get up for certain amount of players a certain amount of teams. And that's something that they have to address the team on their own. But with the Lakers. They seem to do well enough each and every game that puts him out on top and as long as they stay focused on the defensive end. They're going to be right there at the end again. Little tweaks aside you there. There's still a great defensive team. As long as they set their mind to it and I think it just comes down to the mental focus. You have for the rest of the season I think. Also there's a uh there's two ways of looking at teams when we got when we got a D.. And you have to superstars like Lebron Anthony Davis and the type of defense. They're playing. I think one of the things that jumps out is that your superstars can determine not only what your ceiling is but also what. Your floor is and the Lakers have an unusually high floor just because of Lebron ad that's why they are undefeated against these teams that are under under five hundred. That's why they can continue to do well on the road The clippers can get up for single games. But that's not going to be as effective when you get into the playoffs and you're playing a seven game series against the same teams. You're not going to be the bucks with with genus hitting five out of eight eight three point shots. That's not GonNa Happen Very many times in seven game series it can happen on a big one big game and the same thing with Qui- quite hitting all those threes threes and so forth. You Watch the next couple of games. After the Lakers game in quite wasn't hitting knows threes and he wasn't making those great defensive plays at that he was able to make against the the Lakers Not taking anything away from quiet or even Paul George but the simple fact is the Lakers. Because of Anthony Davis and Lebron James Teams have a unique floor that is much higher than other teams. That's going to help them end up with a good record at the end of the year and it makes them uniquely difficult to deal within a seven game series and I think that's their big advantage so I think if we didn't have to enter Andri Andre Egwu dollar sitting out there and Darren Collison Allison sitting out there to guys who we could get from the buyout market. That could solve two of our three desperate needs. You know we need we. We need that third score. We need a second playmaker and we need an elite wing defender well at that. Elite wing defender is Andrea Dolla. That second playmaker I think is Darren Collison. The question about who is going to be that third score is another whole issue One thing I would say in favor of rose. If you've got a guy like rose he could be that third score he is at third score he still good enough despite not having the other worldly athleticism and the ad in his MVP seasons the the guy is still quick. And he's crafty and he's very tough to handle so he could be the third score. Kuzma could be the third score. If he had a point guard could get him the ball when he's opened you know and when he makes great cuts and so forth so the Lakers are despite all the differences that you and I may have on on exactly whom they should trade for and and what moves. They should make the simple reality. Is We lead the league by four games in the loss column Allah Nice Four Solid Winds. We've got an easy schedule this month. In if you compare the January anywhere eight to December. It's a much easier schedule. We should go through that scheduling by the I think by the end of the by the end of January we should have more than a four game lead. We might might have sixty eight lead so as we hit that February six trade deadline. A lot is going to depend on what happens with collison and what happens with Dala if we end up getting those two players than in then it's then I think we might even stick with Gousmi. I'll tell you what let's go ahead and petition Adam Silver instead of this tournament thing which will get to touch on it. I know I'm GONNA touch on it with TJ dance If I can get hold on he tells me he's not feeling well. You know. Of course the holidays now here he rumors might be on a boat somewhere where you'll sailing the seas but I do want to know he when I wanted to talk about some hoping to get him on Friday but for you. My friend and we talked about next week as far as is concerned all the schedule changes and all that but you think maybe we could petition silver to play the Knicks every single game in January. I think it would be great. It would be a it. It would be the worst thing to happen for the NBA's television ratings. That's for sure that's true but yeah I would enjoy. Didn't they get within three. I think Marcus Morris I went off and they got within three points of the of the clippers and I you know. I was astonished when I saw that score will. Since they made the coaching change they played a lot better her. And you know. What if the Lakers don't keep their mind to it? They can get beat by any team on any given day. They've been getting scares lately so I shouldn't say that out loud wind when it comes to know you know those scares at. That's that's that whole thing. I'm talking about with the floor when you got when you got eighty Lebron you gotta hold different floor for those close games. It's you know I mean you keep I had. I had to admit myself a couple of times last night I turned to my wife. WHO's sitting there reading books while I'm reading magazines while I'm watching a game and I said you know we lose this game very easily? You know it felt like Ron alarms up come on Bryan like a loss. It did feel like a loss coming up especially that third quarter where they came out and just laid an order correct. We got the seventeen and Ronin. were up by nine points all of a sudden. We're behind my point again. Yeah the resilience that you've got and and listen. I mean just as a basketball player I played so many games where you don't have to really understand and how important it is when you have the best player on your team. I mean there's a level of confidence that plane was Lebron. Gives guys that you. You can't get anywhere else you know. It's it's not the same thing it's not fair. That's the truth of the matter. It's just not fair when you got the Bron on James. Anything at Anthony Davis at three that he had from the corner. I three of the night was just something beautiful. I mean it's just amazing so you know we have a high. We have have a have a high ceiling that we haven't gotten close to approaching but we've taken advantage of the high floor that those guys give us as it's very hard for for an underdog team to take this team down the way that they can take down the clippers the rockets or any of those other teams that are out there In a box have a little bit of the same thing with Janice Jonah's they have the the reigning MVP and he may not get five hundred eighty threes in every game or even a meal. Just one game a year but a lot When you got that guy on your team you know that that that that makes everybody just an incremental little bit better player a little more confident they they know if they missed that shot that guys they're going to get a rebounding it? Turn it around fair enough. My friend I'll tell you what it. There's still a lot of things that we need to see for the Lakers. Before you and I feel you know really at ease with the attack that I think the Laker still will be able to be a major force in the NBA playoffs. Coming up. And and still still there. I think there's going to be little tweaks like you said that. Need to be made at some point of time and still need to be addressed the clippers. You know we can focus on them all we want but but still there are other great teams out there that still also have lay claim to being a force in the league and you mentioned some of them as well so it's GonNa be interesting to see over the next few weeks as the trade deadline grows ever near and the rumors and on twitter get ever stronger and the fantasy trades that at Laker. Tom We'll still keep throwing out there at everyone because they're out there and you know always the comments alone. Just read the comments at respond to you. Have something you're good how from thank you should be institutionalized and I normally don't get this many negative comments gotten on a couple of those grades seven the trade proposals that I I all of a sudden I look at my mentions in his thirty five mentions is like what some of them I had to scratch my head. I'll be honest with you. Some mother were pretty good. So what were some again. It's all about the assets. What did the Lakers habits assets a realistic and not realistic?.

"WHOSE TEAM IS IT ARGUMENT I? I never now that probably because I didn't play in the N._B._A.. I just it doesn't make sense to me. We saw Russell Westbrook and Durant had that issue we saw durant and curry not really so much curry more durant and now you're bringing up with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. I I don't know are we going to see it Lebron at the Davis. Are we going to see it with Paul George Leonard and why do we see now. How does it help us understand us not N._B._A.? Players why whose team it is even matters. I don't know I couldn't tell you you know what I mean and maybe be because I was a role player wasn't a star so it never cared to me to me. It was always about the team. Okay man the the more stars we have the better. Let's go make it work but I think for a lot of these. You know these these these top dogs these you know the top ten top fifteen players in the world like they feel l.. Let you know ego was a big thing with some of them and it being my team is important some of them. I don't know why maybe it's legacy whatever the situation may be but it comes up more than you would think and like I said last I always say a lot of things. Look good on paper a lot of things going to pay for but until until people going to sacrifice a put their egos aside that when you're really going to be able to see if you know that team on paper translate to wins on the on the Hardwood and everything you just said for me encapsulates Russell Westbrook I mean again <hes> enabled is a strong word but it feels like for the longest time the thunder of enabled him <hes> they swapped coaches thou with Scotty Brooks in with Billy Donovan. They junked up role players Reggie Jackson Serge Ibaka. They don't get along with Russ Book. Let's it's moving out of here. They add durant then they have Paul George. Nothing can work around him and it just feels like maybe Westbrook I. I know people aren't GonNa want to hear this because they love the triple doubles in the M._v._p.. Two years ago maybe Russell Westbrook's the problem. It's tough you know when when you say <hes> enable them. That's pretty strong. It's a strong word but at the same time a lot of organizations are franchised do that to their to their guy so they decided you know what the the the immense hence amount of talent. They had their Russ. was there guy you know if you think about the head three M._v._p.'s at one time you know Katie and Katie and in James where the the guys to go and you know you hear that they but it has the Russ and Russ was the one that stayed you here. You know rest rest has problems here and there but it's like I said it's a lot of hearsay so you know not to meet people really hurt Russ aside and that's when I kinda hold out waiting for I if he's going to Kinda ever open up and speak about it but you hear a lot of different things so you know we draw you know we saw sumptious from that but but the one constant has been Russell and I just think you know I think along with a lot of other people his time in o'casey. He's they've gone as high as in going amount in in it's time to restart. I think it'll be a good restart for him particularly. I it's going to be trouble before Oklahoma City because that's the kind that's a small market and and you're not going to attract a large free agent with as you're GONNA have to do it through the drafts and trades yeah what about Charlotte I propose yesterday. That Charlotte makes sense you got. You're GonNa have a twenty one team on your hands..

"Did not have good faith negotiations. I heard Brian Windhorst ESPN say at first few days back now they strung along they didn't necessarily have a desire to make a deal. What does this go back to GM del Dempsey the pelicans, she'll little small market guy? You get the big time Lakers who think they can get anybody anytime they want we let's remember last off season did the Lakers. Now think they were guaranteed two of the following three. Lebron James, Paul, George Leonard. Of course, they did. They ended up with one. Here's a good one. It was a great one. They gotta LeBron. But they didn't get the other ones. Paul George stays in little Oklahoma. I can say that from there. Kawhi leonard. Ends up Toronto. Right. Didn't necessarily have the say. So there that was a trade. He couldn't just choose to go to the Lakers, the Spurs wanted to get something legit form. And they did good for them. What happens this off season? We'll find out soon enough with Kawhi. Toronto hopes that. Their experiment for him works out the same way that the thunder's experiment for Paul George hit that he'll just choose to stay there because he loves the organization and the city and yada yada, yada. It's fine. But we're the head good faith. No. The pelicans did not negotiate in good faith at the Lakers. Why would they I mean LeBron tampered? Love Anthony Davis to come here. Lebron James in LA Tinseltown. Bright lights staple center, celebrities, everywhere, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And they're talking about your best player in the history of your franchise. And he's under contract at that point went abroad said that almost two full seasons under contract. You get mad, man. Wouldn't you? I would. Dell dem's. Did it wasn't a good faith? Good for him. Good for him, you mess with us. We'll mess with you. You just got more guys than we got. So we've got to do whatever we can get you. I'd be like the kidney shot when you're not looking. But we'll get you. They did the off season is going to be blast to Lakers, Celtics. Who does is there? A third team fourteen the might sneak into negotiate for Anthony Davis. We'll find that out. I last presented by progressive insurance on ESPN radio Dari noca- with you're glad to be taking you to the top of the hour. We're golick and wingo. We'll take over juicy this the New York Knicks. First of all the Knicks clear space. They trade porzingas. They've got spots for two max roster. Max salary guys. The dream we Aldo Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in the off season. But we had NBA writer Kevin arnovitz on last night Dickerson, and I was working with Jonathan hook. It's not a home run here. Just because you're the Knicks doesn't necessarily carry the weight that it wants did. I think guys are very conscious of what is the ownership. Like is this a functional organization I succeed here. And they wanted to see some track record of success. I mean for all we know Durant is going there. His. We did agent essentially tweeted a few weeks ago that he wants to run the Knicks one day. So. What do they know that we don't is sort of the big question of people insiders around the league are all asking this weekend. The deadline is do they create this space because they know it's eminent that someone like Durant Calabro Durant is gonna come or car. They once again to whimsical Knicks. The can't get out of their own way. Just feel like they're gonna throw this great party at everyone's gonna come and no one ever go. Kind.

"You're losing your mind, you have you looked at the Vegas numbers. I don't over under wins for the Lakers guy hits, Antonio Spurs, that's why would you sell LeBron short? It's so comical to here because they don't have Leonard. Yeah, the west just got weaker with this Spurs. I'm telling you LeBron James and the Lakers are going to be fine. How games going to be raised your the Ingram year three, you know, Brandon Ingram, people wanna take shots at him. His first year he played with de ngelo Russell rookie point guard. He didn't wanna pass last replay with Lonzo ball rookie point guard. He didn't really know what he was doing. Finally, he's playing somebody who gets you would've same God who said Paul George was coming. That's different calculated. Here's what I'm to help me later that two weeks before July first Leonard was going to say, I want out as soon as Leonard said, he wanted out of San Antonio, the Lakers just stop recruiting Paul. George just said, I don't. Why would we want him? We could maybe get collide. We have, maybe we maybe get kuwa-. They may be maybe they were gunning for all talked about coming home for two years and the Lakers killing curve, a waiter. Meeting in a meeting. You were in high school one day and you. You have a girl wants to go to the problem with you and all of a sudden, the homecoming Queen becomes eligible and you're like, oh, I kind of want to go for the homecoming queen's. That's the Lakers were with Paul George Leonard, and they, they decided we're not going to trade for Cooper, just gonna stand, Pat. And next summer maybe we get Jimmy Butler. Maybe we get maybe you layer you saying that they finish this year, fifty to fifty three wins top three in the west. In what happens in the playoffs. We'll see what happens. I, I don't know somebody to get into that. You think they built a team to compete with run would punt. That's lunacy. Punt. He came here without knowing who is keeping different with different guys, different my own mind, hey, a movie store money, Carmello mellow. Anthony was on the market. Did he even call him and say, we could use, you know, he's Michael Beasley. Come on down. Let's play with you telling you. There's a method to LeBron madness easily trust LeBron Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and LeBron winners guy to know how to win and deliver. Is that what the chess match comment was about was about putting the pieces together to compete with the warriors, or was it about getting in Los Angeles and positioning positioning yourself to be closer to your businesses life after it'd be both. No, no, you can't be both. He's a slayer. I, I'm a fan. I want this guy to concentrate on playing basketball for the next four years. The first thing he came out here is the he announced we afford deals obviously were in the works before because they turned around so quickly. So he's he was focused in on coming to LA. He told fans that he was going to go to Culver city to blaze pizza. He He gave gave never. never. That he was doing that he did, he hit it so so I'm just saying which one is it LeBron plenty of time. He's thirty four. Why are you worried about your post basketball career, focus on basketball, try to win a loss Angeles, another championship, and then you worry about all the other events and other opportunities, Greg going to be there. He doesn't need to be doing a movie was to be to feature guy in a movie why we were together until you just started talking that. I think this is it is the chess move. The fact that I'm playing everything, but I'm strategic. You said it yourself. These things were already in the work when he was winning? No. When he was losing championship when he was winning in Cleveland, we're lootings were already in the word. This didn't just start because he came to LA. It was already taking place. That's the chess move. And he understands that in order for everything that I want to get done off the court to work. I have to stay atop the number one player in this league..

"Guide a lebrons on this youtube platform says more about lebron to me than anything else he's just out different stage of his career in two thousand twelve he could've put together any team that he wanted in two thousand fourteen he snaps his fingers and he's snubs week it's his letter with lee jacobs and boom poof out of nowhere comes kevin love i think we're in a different stage of lebron james's career i don't think we can avoid that or and i don't think we should beat around the bush about that yeah i think i agree with some of that certainly i i want to be very clear i'm not using the lance stevenson javale mcgee signings as it excuse to tee off on the braun or the lakers front office it did kinda give me pause though i'm not gonna congratulate pelinka and magic for further their brilliance just yet and strictly because of those signings it was like being in the middle of a lucid dream last night like holy shit they're really signing lance what however your broader point is well taken and it's one of the reasons i am actually really excited about this lebron lakers era it's gonna be weird and i think it's going to be more challenging than a lot of us thought even a week ago or two weeks ago when everybody was photo shopping paul george leonard into into laker's uniform i think the pg thing is interesting because it i mean we can get to play off p and how he's wired later in the podcast but i think you're concerned as valid as insofar as like lebron is from a different generation than a lot of the guys that he's gonna be recruiting when he's out in la and he's not that much older than paul george i think he's only like four five years older but he's almost hit mean co leonard's twentyseven lebron's thirty four like and these the way the nba works generation sort of shift every three or four years like steph and westbrook or are from a different generation than lebron and like the banana boat guys are all on the way out of the league and if i were an up and coming superstar i don't know if i would want to go play with the broad and that respects and you made this comparison over the weekend i don't know whether you wrote it but you you made it to me as we talk this through like there's a non zero chance that lebron kind of becomes koby for a new generation in la where like he is universally respected as as one of the best players in the league which kobe was even even like until the last season to ever even yours even years after he still was in that crew he had that tag yeah and players always respected him but they didn't really want to go play with him and be second fiddle to him and lebron is going to have to prove that he can kind of adapt his game to empower some of the younger guys around him and he's not gonna be able to be the guy he was in cleveland where kyri and love were basically marginalized the whole time which is like which is to say it's about to get a lot more interesting because i i don't know whether he can do that but it's going to be a really interesting test for him on this idea of the generational gap i mean i remember very vividly and kobi's last season here in la i went to an event that was put on by american express for like platinum card holders i was there as bedia and there's all these you know it's very like everyone's drinking wine and looking very cool and very hip and is up on stage he had flown his helicopter to the event right he's up on stage in a full suit you know talking about the lakers glory days with guys like robert ory and yukking it up having a great time and that same night the story about diangelo russel basically videotaping nick young and putting it on the internet i remember that was that was the ultimate generation gap moment whereas you could just picture koby flying home on the helicopter sort of looking down upon his city just being an absolute disgust at like what has the next generation become and i think the lebrons hold on i would i would add though those lakers years were super super dark but watching kobe's disgust in the face.
