"Thankfully, they didn't bring any extra people in. So medicals were done, everything was done as long as we moved stuff around. And presumably pay them for their troubles, then you can do whatever you want, because everyone's already done their weight checks, they're everything, the vitals, everything you need to be cleared by the state. So being able to pull this off had to see maddening. Yeah. But this card was not great. It was never great. People not here are preview show now. But it wasn't the greatest of cars coming into it. This is what they needed because at the end of the day, it's going to end up one of the most talked about cards of the year. It's weird 'cause it's like, so after the fight and the press conference, I went home and I woke up. And I looked at everything again, and I was like, yo, this is like the most inconsequential UFC pay per view in the history of UFC pay per views. No champions. You had 6 catch wade fights. 6, 6, nobody felt like making way. No, like everybody was like, I don't care. Irene aldana, she was like, hey, you wanna fight one 40? Sure, we'll fight. Mexico is like, we're both fighting one 40. Who cares? The only fight they really matter to the rankings that had any bearing was Johnny Walker and Ian kula. And they kicked Johnny Walker out by all accounts of the man out there in his skivvies and some socks. Barefoot. Down Las Vegas boulevard. Like a barefoot. And then it was like, we didn't kick him out. Like, I don't know what happened. And his fight kit. John kavanagh was like, what did you do to my man? But man, what a chaotic 24 hours, and then you have the show and it kind of worked out. But like I said, Nate was the lynchpin. If Nate didn't fight, that car was over. Over. We'll get into the details of who shuffled. Where, what happened and go through the exact, I guess, timeline of everything and break it all down. But before that, this just adds to Nate's legend, right? Getting Connor when he did, winning that fight. Yeah, perfect storm. Made him an insane amount of money from that point on. Now, for all purposes, you are going to leave the UFC being dominated and mauled. Yep. And now you leave like a hero flexing, Mitch flexing. That's what people remember you up. Yeah. Again, the most pedestrian MMA fighter walking the face of this planet making more money than everybody. Nate Diaz has, I don't even want to say failed up, but I don't know what else you call this, 'cause who else keep continues to find themselves in these situations. Right time right place. Stepped in for Connor. All right, it was and I said it on the show that we got scrapped. Nate Diaz has never held a title in any promotion that he's fought in. Never, they tried to make a title for him to win in the UFC. He couldn't win that one. I forgot he lost that BMF belt. Yeah, he couldn't win that fight. So he ends up in a fight in the UFC he's like, well, let's leverage his star power to get somebody else over. Yep. And then come on, I was like, I don't care. I'm a villain. I ain't making weight. So it was all about Kamala's future because I think the UFC actually fell into a good problem. His future is next to wherever you send patty to baddie during Kemp to lose the weight. Well, we'll talk about it. We'll talk about it. But the nay situation is now like, all right, now you go from a fight that you can't win to a fight that's very winnable. And then you win that fight. And you say, what, 38, 37? 37. Talking about, I'm gonna go show you guys how to make to take over another promotion. Like, hey, you have one in the promotion you're in. How are you taking over another promotion? But and then I'll come back. What do you come back at 40? To be fair, you only fight once every two years anyway. He ain't got that much time left. Like his only fight left. Well, 'cause you know the only 5 years outside of this octagon is one fight. Jake Paul, thank you. He only has two fights left. Jake Paul, Connor. That's it. I don't care where they happen. But they're going to be only two fights. These massive fights. Yep. Huge. And all because now, I mean, it would be big anyway, but nature's beat Tony Ferguson. In his last fight, this man is, God, damn. I wish I could be this average to make $1 million. Millions of dollars. 20 years of an MMA career career. So he deserves the money. You do anything for 20 years. I'm not going to knock you make you millions of dollars. But here's one the long game, right? If you say in something for 20 years, you're liable to get a few breaks going your way. But usually you say fuck this. I ain't making no money because at one point he was making 16 grand. 40 grand. He made the most money of his MMA career

"I'm grateful for it. Well, it's my favorite bernthal character so far. You get long career left. What kind of so we're taping this between episode four and 5? Do you feel like the show's getting momentum? Because I feel like in my life it's starting to people in my life just anecdotally. Starting to get a little momentum. But I still feel like the words not out correctly yet. Yeah, you know, man, it's weird, you know, if you talk to your Baltimore such an underdog city and I think that David and George, they're such, they're so comfortable with kind of being underdogs. I mean, the wire, I don't know if you remember, but no. They weren't winning at me, so you know the wire wasn't that nobody watched the wire, you know? And you look back and George says it all the time. George Paul Connor says, you don't want to be the show that everyone's watching now. You want to be the show everyone's watching in 15 years. Right? Again, if you are actually telling the truth with your work. And it is this sort of meld between journalism and entertainment. I think you got a shot at that. I think you really do. And I think that if you were to go into Baltimore right now and ask anybody, hey man, do you know who Wayne Jenkins is? Everybody knows who he is. Everybody, that's a huge, the story of the gun trace task force is an enormous story in the sort of zeitgeist of Baltimore and the culture of Baltimore. And you know, I think that means it's going to be around for a while. I think people are going to be interested. And I don't know. I mean, it sounds like a bullshit PC answer, but I can't, I can't concern myself with kind of like who's watching or how many folks are watching. I just hope it sticks around and I hope we made George and David and ray have. Well, people can find these things on the streaming services too. I feel like you're going to get boned over. I think you're going to get an Emmy nomination, but I think you're going to get boned over because that's just, it's a David Simon thing. You're not allowed to win Emmys with David Simon projects. Yeah. What was that king Richard experienced like? Because that's like the biggest movie you've been in. Yeah, I mean like you know the king Richard experience overall was that you feel like your fame went up after that. I don't know. Everybody saw it. Yeah, you know, like I don't know, I don't really think on those terms. I mean, I know, look, I've been in movies that I've been in movies that have really sort of taken off. You know, Wolf of Wall Street or fury. Like movies that were big movies. I think for me, you know, what I love so much about king Richard. I mean, number one, it was a movie that my kids could see. So that was just awesome for me. It was good. It was good to walk out of a movie and just feel good about life. Right? And it's like when you think about the films, when you think about hoosiers, when you think about even major league, when you think, I mean, we talked about sports movies the last time. Yeah, and you told me this was going to be one of them. That's right. And I think it's like we feel like there's no real market for that now. But like this was an uplifting kind of meditation on family and on fatherhood and on faith and perseverance. And I feel like the movie kind of captured because the movie was set. Zach Bailey and the screenwriter set that movie, you know, really from when the girls were ten and 11 to when they were basically when Venus was 14. Looking at that chapter, everybody knows where they're going, obviously, but it really, really captured the palpability of the impossibility of the task that was at hand. And I felt like the way that they dealt with Serena was just so genius. Like, I think about in the departed. My buddy James badge Dale and in the departed. Remember at the end, he comes in and he shoots him right in the head. And he's like kind of been in the movie the whole time. And he's always sort of around, but you don't know him, and then you're like, oh shit, he's like, you know, he's a major, major plot point of the movie. And I just thought that like the way that sort of Serena, you know, the way that Demi played her, she's so amazing. And every time you see her like the screen lights up, she's always there, but she's not front and center. And then all of a sudden, like a dad does sometimes. You sort of focus on one kid, and then she sees the kid there, and he says, no, she's going to be the best in the world, but you're going to be the best of all time. And it's such for me, that was sort of like such a beautiful, like, fathering moment. You know what I mean? How you kind of come up with the right thing at the right time. And you know, you know, and then the fact that that comes true, you know, it was a beautiful thing to be a part and I feel like that film, there was a righteousness on that set. There was a familial aspect of that set that I've only had a few times in my career. But, you know, we're all getting to the king Richard cast is all getting together, not this weekend, but the next, you know, we all really love each other. We all stayed enormously close. And I really think what the person who really just doesn't get enough credit for that movie is ray green. Like I just think, you know, to take that film and elevate it in the way that he did was really an incredible feat. And to make this movie that could be, you know, it could borderline on sort of like a family like sort of too sappy. It's funny and it's for everyone. It's uplifting, but it's exciting. And the character work is incredible. And I really think, you know, the guy is just sort of like impeccable in the way that he cast and the environment that he creates on set. And again, it made me feel so lucky to have him on wheel in the city. I got asked, were you at the Oscars? Are you watching? No, you know, I went to all of them. And I went to all the awards and I did have a ticket, but my son will build little birthday plays travel baseball. He had a double header. Oh, this is so heartwarming. I love the dad sports travel stories. Yeah, man, look, man, and I know it's crazy, and I know maybe people are like, for me, I get it, man. That's why I want to be, man. That's where I want to be and I miss too much as it is. And my other son had lacrosse tournament and I just I told my wife, I was like, baby, we're not doing this. Like, you know, I've been working my ass off. I haven't, I haven't stopped really in years. And I don't know. And honestly, you know, after everything that kind of went down, I'm kind of glad that I wasn't there to be.

"Yikes. CNN. When considering, quote, indirect taxes and the impact of other Biden proposals, workers might bear some of the cost of his proposals to raise corporate taxes, resulting in lower after-tax after-tax raises, wages, another proposal from Biden to change four-o-one-ks could reduce tax benefits of contributing to those accounts for some taxpayers. Build back better tax foundation, tax foundation, call to self nonpartisan, it probably skews to the right. Would increase cumulative budget deficit over ten years. And then look at all of the tobacco hikes and keep in mind a disproportionately percentage large percentage of poor people used tobacco products. Average pack a day smoker making $15,000 a year pays almost 15% of his income in tobacco taxes, the proposed increases on various tobacco products would increase that figure to 12%. From someone making between 35 $1000 or more, that's 4.1% today, but 5.2% after the tax increase. Rate on chewing tobacco increases more than 2000%. Rates on pipe tobacco and snuff, over 1600% under billed back better. So people making under $400,000 a year will in fact face higher taxes. To make the economy move faster and reduce prices for families. Second thing, my build back better plan will address the biggest cost of working families face every day. No other plan will do more to lower the cost of American families. It cuts the cost of for child care. Many families, including the people sitting in this room, if they have children, and they're working full time, many families pay up to $14,000 a year for child care in big cities, less than that is smaller ones. My plan cuts that in half. One falsehood after another, after another, after another. Doesn't raise taxes on those making under $400,000 a year. Yeah, it does. It's fully pay for, no it's not. Won't add anything to the debt and deficit. Yes, it will. Stunning. We come back. One remind you of all the things that media Democrats been saying about the insurrection and the attack on our republic. And then Biden supposed to say, well, you know, we don't do anything about all of this stuff. It doesn't really matter. Share excerpts of today's show from Larry elder's YouTube channel. Want to remind you of something that president Obama once said about the allegation that our elections could be fixed or rigged. There is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even you could even rig America's elections. In part, because they're so decentralized. And the numbers of votes involved. There's no evidence that that has happened in the past, or that there are instances in which that will happen this time. And so I divide mister Trump to stop whining and go try to make his case to get votes. And if he got the most votes, then it would be my expectation of Hillary Clinton to offer a gracious concession speech and pledge to work with him in order to make sure that the American people benefit from an effective government. Thank you, mister president. Speaking of voting rights legislation, if this isn't passed, do you still believe the upcoming election will be fairly conducted and its results will be legitimate. Call all depends on whether or not we're able to make the case to the American people. That some of this is being set up. I'm Larry elder..

"Street. You're going to put you all back in chains. But Donald Trump is a racist. But this man, at one time talked about bull Connor compared Republicans to bull Connor Paul Connor was the one that stood up there. Democrat by the way. I'm telling you got to keep the blacks and white separate. Aren't you tired of that? Obama gets elected? What, 52% or so will the vote? Before the man steps steps foot in the Oval Office third week of January 2009, he is approval rating almost hit 70%. A whole bunch of Republicans who didn't vote for him said, okay, let's give this guy a shot. At least he'll bring about some sort of racial reconciliation. You can never whip these by if you don't keep you in them separate. I found out letting you. You've got to keep the white and the black 7. And the serious decline in people that thought race relations were good, took place. During the Obama administration. The peak was during George W. Bush. Are you aware of that? Are you tired of being manipulated? Are you tired of half the country being accused of being racist? Now if the Democrat wins in Virginia, believe me the same game plan will be used again and again and again. Call everything Trump like Trump Republican Trump want to be. Or as my opponent referred to me more Trump than Trump. Really, I want to know from you, why does that work? What is it that you find so contemptible about Donald Trump that that works? Knowing Faith

"And not only that, but I would imagine that the Jews had a similar problem to one that we can have of romanticizing the people who were heroes of the faith, right? And when we find Abraham, in genesis 15 with these words spoken over him, I love that the way the story is constructed is to show us that already at that point, Abraham has demonstrated that he's a law breaker. He has not been above reproach at that point in the story. And he will continue to demonstrate that. And so I think there's a bit of a gentle reminder here that direction as well. Now, first four, we get this interesting. It's basically like Paul gives us a word picture here. Now to the one who works his wages are not counted as a gift, but as his due. And to the one who does not work, but believes in him who justifies then godly, his faith is counted as righteousness. So Paul Connor gives us a like an analogy. He's like, listen, if Abraham had worked for righteousness. If he had done something to merit righteousness, the righteousness would not be a gift. It would be due. It would be wages. It would be what he deserves. And yet this righteousness. And this is, I don't think this is the first time we get the mention of gift in Romans, though it might be, but over the last JT and JT, I don't know how familiar are with this or Jen. If you're familiar with this, but over the last decade, there's been a renewed interest in Paul's use of gift language in relationship to grace and Salvation. JJ, are you familiar with Barclay's work on this? I actually just finished it. Yep. Okay, so I gotta tell you, there's a listener..

"He wants to the big payday as possible most likely but if he wants a legitimate challenge Really see where he's at and have a true risk of being knocked out on got the record for knockouts Why when you find someone like me. We're also look beyond. You're also you know size-wise on par with jake paul connor. I listen i. We talked conroe day. Connors one hundred and fifty five pounder on a good day and he should really if you look at him even against this last couple of weeks gets a little undersized sixty four zero one ninety. He's a he's a big boy. You know what. I mean. Dude he would. I mean that would be. I'm not saying connor. Just based on connor being a better boxer potentially whatever but that would be such a size because he would literally have like forty pounds on connor You actually have size. We all know how you ours. As i mean you've obviously fodder middleweight. And you've talked middleweight again. that would be a much much different size difference for you and him versus connor or any other young well. That's my whole point if he wants legitimate challenge. Not i may not be the guy that's gonna make the fucking countdown show or whatever or provide conferences. be a big shit show or circus or everything Like like connor. Would you might not be the guy. I might not be some of the some of the things he's looking for but if he wants a real fight and he wants a guy with experience. It knows how to box. I've done lot of amateur. Boxing chose to may for the professional career. But if he wants a real guy that's going to give them a real challenge in. And i believe i'll knock them out but you know he's got a no that there's a real potential fighting me he's gonna get knocked out so he's actually got those kind of balls we we'd see if you actually fight me but again i kind of think that he would probably lean towards the path of the most famous guy. He can get rather than the the best challenge that he could get. Yeah i also you find jake. Paul utero ohio. Why would you do that you tell you. You're both from ohio..

"I do is. That's the problem. You're not building your stars right. I mean there. Are there absolutely stars in boxing. They're still stymied cannella. A massive massive star. But look at what's going on right now. Oscar de la hoya fifty or whatever. He is about to come out of retirement by veto bell for anderson silva and tito ortiz fighting next weekend. That's gonna be that's gonna do huge business. I know oscar is obviously a great in his own right. But that's the problem. I mean you have tyson fury who i think is is probably legit starting obviously him and anthony joshua would do a lot of business obviously him and deontay wilder rematch. There's a lot of business. You got a couple of people there but when you got like when you can't see aerospace against crawford you can't see some of the fights you want you got manny. Paquito matching errol spence was a joke Would you're not building up your stars and giving people to fight. They wanna see they're going to gravitate to something else now. Lot of people. I think have gravitated towards the name which obviously i enjoy again. I'm curious for an an a but like boxing. Awful job building up their search today. Have no one to blame for themselves. That people are interested in jake paul. Yeah that's a good point. And i take a lot of guys could probably take some tips from jake paul right you know. He built his brand. Yeah so good for him. And that's the one thing Ufc desperately may right as they give us a platform To magnify brand whereas boxing that platform really isn't there you know. And i. I guess there's pros and cons to each is the with boxing. That's also why they get bigger paydays to right as they get the purse bids And you know they're not necessarily contracting to single promotion And even when they are there's different clause you know there's so many politics details of that but i think there's a lot of pros and cons. That probably gets into a much deeper conversation but again. I think we can take a lot of tips from jake paul about building a brand. And that's something boxers particularly but even at may fighters yeah. We're not necessarily good at. Yeah well yeah i just. You can dislike jake paul. I have no probably don't like jake paul. You think he's an idiot. Whatever the case may be you could disliked the guy but you can't fault him for what he's building. I mean again job. Yeah if a million people buying a paper you and i was in. I was in the arena. Last i sixteen thousand people were there. It was nuts. I mean the crowd was on all night. They were there. Most of the crowd was there at seven pm for the first fight which never happens. Every big punisher was throwing big moment. The crowd was rising and falling. Sixteen thousand again. You can dislike the guy personally you could say the clown. You dislike his youtube channel. Whatever but you can't the guy hasn't done a good job building himself into a legitimate star. Is he legitimate boxer. Is he a real threatened boxing. No but no no foreign boxer. is i mean realistically. he's twenty four years old. I mean he. He can develop a lot in boxing. Still do i think he's going to be a champion or he's cruiserweight division to name the you know a great cruiserweight brevard. That's not one of the more powerful divisions generally in boxing you sick. He's a great one but he's moving up to heavyweight but you know if you're gonna choose a division and boxing and there's a lot of bell tiki get to i mean there's a lot of smaller belts at twenty four years old and you gotta think too. I mean some of these guys you he could. He could fight up there on the bigger. The higher levels of boxing like what mayweather did to cannella early on. He put them on such a big stage. Early on you know. I mean i think that's what was camilla's issue in that fight mainly it was such a big stage. Jake paul is going to put these guys on gigantic stages. All the pressure's gonna be on them. That's a tough thing to handle a lot of these if he gets up there into the actual ranks. A boxing which i think is an actual possibility. I don't think they'll ever be a legitimate. You know I don't think anybody's going to be like wow. He's a great boxer. Anything ever but i mean just imagine you know. You're you're a boxer. It's been your whole life and now this this guy comes along and all the sudden you're fighting in front of fifty sixty thousand people you know for a belt and you've dreamed of your whole life in the sky. You're not supposed to lose to you. Know what i mean. There's there's a lot of little thanks to that. But you know again at twenty four years old. I think the sky's limit form And i'll say it again. I love the testimony that limit. Let's Let's let's talk about that. Because obviously we've seen a of a lot of people coming out of the woodwork. Wanna fight jake I get it. I get it a ability. Obviously able. you believe he'd beat him wbe. Why wouldn't you want a million dollar payday to fight boxing match with you. I mean for that kind of money. I mean i listen if he wants me. Ten million dollars. Let's august dog get knocked out. But i'll do it. Tim million dollars on a price. I mean it's like the million dollar man you say a pro wrestling. Everyone's got a price. trust me. i do too would you do. Would you box j. paul. of course. I don't know if you've seen that me do it but It makes a lot of sense to me in the where he's at right now that he's obviously you to a washed up tyrone older tyron. Woodley hasn't done anything in a long time. He's fought You've been asking who you can't box his way out of a paper bag there's you know so it's time for him to take the next step up and everyone knows i'm a real fighter One of us is going to get knocked out. I'm not going to sit back and wait tyron. you know. i've got a lot of experience. And i'm a damn good boxer so i think it would be a perfect match. You know the only thing. I know he's probably gonna look for like a mcgregor something that's probably going to be you know. He wants to the big payday as possible most likely but if he wants a legitimate challenge Really see where he's at and have a true risk of being knocked out on got the record for knockouts Why when you find someone like me. And i thought about this. They didn't tell dak to come over. We know who knows but we had to college. I've been to college camps so as keith. I've been on one high school camp where we actually I'm saying you've been three college camps. Oh sorry no. I only made it to three camps and i went to two different schools will go ahead right. Yeah same here yes. There's a lot of shenanigans stack goes on and camp. We all know that correct. Some of you know gets a little bit crazy. I was thinking maybe if the cameras are there goes it gets taken down a notch. Where like the kids tokens. So stupid of very true. That's very true to you. Don't wanna get a moving north. Dallas forty came out. It was about the dallas cowboys. And what they did and we know what irv and those cats did in the nineties during their camps. Yeah so maybe. It's a blessing knows. I can't get in trouble when the cameras around you. I wanted differently right. There built differently. They're not built of that. You know mustache hairy chest straightened scotch and smoke cigarettes at halftime football players in the seventies eighties. But again if the worst thing that's happening is they're throwing a cake and he can't wrap a present as opposed to going to nightclubs and get in fights. I mean bro. come on. We've had that today's nfl. It's not happening. I mean it wasn't too long ago. We were dealing with like pacman jones. Doing his thing so that was during training camp correct although their visa there's restrictions there's a lot but okay all right well anyway hard knocks go check out. Blogging boys youtube right after hard knox's over this week and They'll review the episode. I did too last week. It's a pretty cool show All right so rugged. I did too so the cardinals game comes and goes we lose this one again Again no wins losses. Don't mean anything right now. In the preseason but i do want to talk about stock up and down like who stock rose during this game and who's just plummeted Down the crapper and then obviously before we wrap the show up the the dallas cowboys do have to make five cuts On tuesday so the those cuts will happen pretty much simultaneously as you know we all watched hard knocks. Obviously it'll be like one week behind but The the cuts are coming. And then you know they only have to cut five. I believe you know bagging a day. If i remember correctly there was like cuts throughout training camp. And now it's just like five here and then bang cut your entire roster down to fifty from like eighty like they have to cut like thirty frigging players in one shot now. It's like it's insane but because now yeah remember how you survive cuts one you survive cuts to three or four whatever was and now it's just like you survive the five cuts and then you have to just kind of wait. Wait for your feet. Your fate to be determined right before kickoff really but anyway so stock up stock down. I'll start and then we'll go around. I'll start with some. What's oh yeah go ahead brett johnstone and we all do stock up or do or who. Stock is down. Yeah we'll we'll start with the down. We'll start with the down then we'll go up so my first down is connor williams They had him at center and this is a week removed after specifically me. Got excited about how he was handling. Aaron donald and practice. So everybody's getting excited about those reps in a practice scrimmage. The guy goes out there. Play center and the snaps are all over the place. I felt like every other snap was either juggled. Slyke kinda rolled into the ground spiked like it was just a bad look for connor and you know. The internet was ablaze on friday night about his first snaps of the game where it was just it was just ugly so his stock is down. I think he was the kid's gonna play well this year. Put him at left guard and let him play guard enough of this. Let's try to do center stuff. Like tyler be autism your center so i don't understand the whole logic bobby understand because it's f- in season so what they're doing is you guys are you. Do you know the purpose of preseason is for. This is the paul connor williams at center and see how he does is give him gametime situations where he is snapping the ball. I mean again. The kid hasn't they're trying to figure out who's backing up. Who who's going to be the to what position and they just. That's what coaching is man. I'm not mad. i'm not mad. The decision to put him at center to see what he's got. But now thinking okay this. This is clearly making decision for us like. He's not a good center. Saint stock went down at center at center. Yeah left guard day whilst I know be bad ass. Got into it with somebody. He was chirpin. I like it now that we have have another center That i saw the roster i can. I can't remember the guy's name too. But anyways i met. Yeah it's maybe. He played in that game after conor. Play the whole game has center. No be artist was in there for a little while too but anyways. So that's my first stock up who anybody. I mean stock down. Who's anybody else have anybody. That stock fell because rico dowdell. Yes okay yeah. He put the ball on. That was that was now that upset me. I know preseason bro but in preseason as a coach you need the set. That's different to not putting him back in. They should've tooken back in. That's different when you're fumbling is different. From getting a groove. I got but i don't think he should have been you know i. I told you guys that. I'm pretty big on hardy on. I think that You know going forward. They can't i. I was thinking of putting you know saying that they might cut running back. I don't think they will this time around. I do think dowdell hurt himself with that one fumble for sure. Okay brad. you got somebody stock.
