The civilian oversight from the sheriff, which really did begin even before he took office between his election and when he took office is really unprecedented. He says. Civilian officials, like the Board of Supervisors have options They can't obviously turned back his election, but the he's subject to voter recall. Literal Jock Sniffer - Season 3, Episode 4 - burst 1

"Question. How did he do? Okay. So here's the thing about Joe Brown. This is why I think you like him so much. Oh, it's a really great quarterback that just plays hockey team. So he's like your deck Prescott your a bitch. I thought you were like the light bulb in my head went off last night when I was watching it. I was like, well, he's a good little quarterback like Dak Prescott. He just plays for no wonder Jasmine likes them so much. By the way, I have you know you Optimus Prime Don the word shity so it cut out on you said shity team. That's all right. I show you going to say that we were going to like look we could be an item now. I'm just disappointed. Oh, I'm sorry. Now he's to you guys wouldn't match very well. He's back to blonde hair doughy eyed, you know, he still has his dreams and happiness. I was just that his way too innocent for you. You know, you just strip him of all of it off. I would fare. I tend to do this with all men though. Let's be real I tend to slowly take away their hopes dreams, you know their desk for Life their happiness any kind of happiness life. It's it's what I do to all the men that are in my life. Okay, so so that's your analysis which fuck off so that's no that's my analysis regards to jobber. Okay, my analysis in regards to the Browns. All right. Here's the thing about the Browns obj less. Always he had headlines Amy. Okay. This team has a boss ass offense page. There is no reason why they shouldn't be scoring touchdowns all the fucking time. I mean think about the players that they have Nick Chubb Fremont who both went off last night Jarvis Landry. I mean you couldn't get you can get that is a fantasy leagues dream right here, right? Yep. There is no reason why this team shouldn't be amazing because you know what their defense is really cool. Good to this team should be really competitive and making the playoffs and they're not understand now Grandma, who knows what's going to happen tell you what happened last night watching this game Baker Mayfield just he changed into a different person. Like when he like a human in a good way in a good way when he came off the field. He didn't go and sit down on the bench. He stood on the sidelines and watched his defense playing and then he I mean he rallied those guys. He was not going down to Joe burrow. I mean, you could totally he's like, there's no fucking way. This guy's going to show me up and there's no way I'm losing to the fucking bangles and you know what he totally carried his team. He really truly did stepped up it was offensive. Now if they can do that every single weekend this team is really like it has all the weapons that it takes to be a fantastic team which made me. Made me Ponder the fact that there's some teams that you just expect to lose and then there's some teams that you expect to win like the team's you expect to when you expect the steel real attacks right now. You expect the Cal you expect to win. You don't expect the Lions or the Bangles or the Browns. I mean the low-hanging fruit, you know, you don't expect those teams to win. So when they have when they have rosters long, the Browns have their own turning into a team that you they should be winning with what they have. So it sounds to me that the Browns are basically like if you're looking at it from a fantasy league point, it's the guy in league who basically cheese his way to get the best team because everybody else is internet either sucked or they were on auto draft or they forgot there was a draft right? That's the guy in the if you're equating it to a fantasy team roster birth. Okay. Number one. I liked it. You know I prematurely said shut up about the Cowboys cuz I thought you were going to say that you expect them to lose and I like that you're saying that you expect them to win because that's what you do you absolutely suck. Oh you that's what we do problem. That's where we are a we are an elite Lord team. Anyway, that's what you're going with I am. Well, I don't know the baker Mayfield is still a shitstain to me so good for him rallying his team. He's still a shitstain. I do love his Progressive commercials their home like the latest one. Yes. They are the latest one where he's like. Oh, it's getting ready to rain. Help me cover the furniture. And two guys like you mean the stance he's really good in those commercials. If you could only be as good a quarter as he is in those commercials. We would be set the dog pound would be set. Well, we are you a dog pound or now. I mean, I you know, I have a soft spot for the Browns just cuz they always lose. And ever since that movie came out draft day with Kevin Costner yet. Oh, I'm out. I'm done with you. done with you Amy. Your brown spot is showing. I know I know you know, I just I'm weird that way I don't understand it. Either it is I don't either try to figure you out every day and I just you know, I do too and since I'm like, oh I get myself today and then sometimes I'm like now he's nope don't understand myself today, but that's okay. That's most of us as well. Amy. So rest assured you're not in Company by yourself. I think it is twenty-twenty it is. Okay. Well that's sad because now Joe burrow Hollow be his name Falls 200 and two. Yeah, it does and but you know what this guy he's he's a good quarterback. He is is there he should be in his helmet I think time to get mr. Guys. Sometimes he tries to carry his offense which isn't great because then he gets pummeled by pencil like he got pummeled last night several times. Well, you sure. Why does LSU brain sure what he's trying to win? And I totally get it. But at the same time he needs careful because you know, oh, he's a starting quarterback in the NFL. Well getting them know and you just see a lot of what he was doing at LSU that worked and I think you know like every rookie has this learning curve right where you come out transition from college to the big leagues and it's like, oh, okay, it's funny cuz I was like really different style of football right? I said to Bruce last night. I'm like, surprised that they just threw this guy in the deep end. I mean they just started. Oh totally, I mean, they didn't granted he dangles. What else do they have? I'm. That's the problem. They don't have anything else but you know like places in my where to get backing up Fitzpatrick that makes sense. It makes sense for him to kind of, you know way into the NFL same thing with Dwayne Haskins, you know, he he was back up for a while until he kind of learned his name. Yeah, now Joe girl, man. They just threw him in the deep and they're like here you go, bro, you go bu. Yeah. Well, you know what gotta he is trying I mean, he's playing his ass off out there. No he is but he is and that's why I'm like super team Joe burrow like we gotta do this man. Like I'm telling you. It's the stogie. We'll do it get this guy that mean that you're a Bengals fan know how fucking no. No, I like. Oh bji in a Browns fan. I like Joe burrow Ina Bengals fan, you know, I will always bleed silver and blue Amy. That's the only color I would leave home. Anyway, let's move on to the Chiefs. Okay, love us and Pat Mahomes you love some Andy Reid do that cheaper mofo back, right? So Andy Reid's big old windshield mask that he had on. When was it last week? I can't remember. Yeah. We're only in week to segregated windshield wipers. Yeah, so people were like what the hell and so like it was fogging up. You couldn't see shit, but this may be a thing. This may be a thing coming to a coach near you because off on the first Sunday of the NFL season when this happened several coaches were seen either one not wearing masks or to not wearing them properly because the mask police were out and the league is not going to stand for that. It's currently vice president of football operations. Troy Vincent issued a memo this week saying protocol requires all individuals with bench area access including coaches and members of the club medical staff to wear face coverings at all times failure to adhere this requirement will result in accountability measures being imposed against offending individuals and or clubs. However, Amy, there is no word on what those accountability measures will be so that to me that phrase is what kind of sticks out to me. What does that mean? do you do find them? Probably I mean you can look dead. Here's the thing. They're coaching on the sidelines of talking into Mike's they have to be able bird they have to be able understood. It's really hard for all of the to happen on your face plus all these guys are around each other all the time. They're all you know, I practiced together around the field. They're hitting each other all in each other's faces, you know, I mean and how many people have tested positive since the start of season one? Yeah. They did a very good 2700 players so very good job with with that right off because like you said, they've been implementing measures. They've been following the rules, you know, they've been testing a lot, you know, we got into this, you know leading into this actual season. Jeez, how many coronavirus updates that we talked about on this podcast about hey, this is what the League's doing. This is what they're making them do kind of thing. So something is clearly working. It's really great to see that that's positive news that you know that they're only seeing that wage. Chat, I think I that they should I really think they should go with a handy read mask to be quite honest can still see the coaches face. The microphone can kind of be up underneath it. So they may be able to understand what the coaches saying and and you're shielded. You know, when somebody comes up to your face, you know, I mean, think that that's fine but having to wear them like when it's just, you know covering your face in your nose again, like it's hard for me to understand people when they're wearing a mask and talking to me. Yes, I mean, so imagine imagine being on the field the quarterback coaches saying the guys in booth coordinators up in the booth are trying to understand what the guys on the field coordinators on the field are trying to say, I mean, it's just it's a it's crazy. So it's a shitshow you gotta be able to walk. You gotta be able to your job. I would take that looking like I've got the windshield of a Camry in front of my face the whole time vs Lee having something on my mouth cuz that's frustrating me. Yeah. Give me the telephone number. Windshield all day long over the you know, suffocating face masks which by the way speaking of Tesla. Did you see that their reports of some them being janky like getting like parts that were like really cheap shity on some of the Tesla's that were falling apart marvelous. I know so yet twenty-twenty doesn't happen. Just wanted to put that in there for you. All right coming up next in offsides, you know fall like we said is upon us. Although you wouldn't know here in Texas. It's still like an anus outside but here's something for your home that will make it fall feel less anus e okay Mom handles some new ones that are coming out and they're actually already out and we'll explain to you with those candles our next. All right, let's get into offsides and we've got some candles to tell you about so Amy, yeah, you know football's back. So if you want to get a little piece so that game day experience at home along with fall. This might work. Okay. I know you love candles. There's a company that's owned by Anheuser-Busch call Babe wine. They just created three football scented candles one smells like an artificial turf field. Okay one smells like a Nachos not bad and one

Why The Clippers Collapsed

"It felt like something was happening. There is something about the emotion. Past. Was Now you've? Seen. This isn't a story. Be The athlete. It stays with you. There Sam first of all, where are you right now I'm in the NBA bubble a new home away from home inside my hotel room and Casillas number to think twenty seven, twenty two is the room number if anybody wants to. Send packages or love one of the two But yeah, this is this is why these days. How has your bubble experience been so far to be honest committed it's gotten better. The airport experience was felt more stressful than I thought it went I actually had to masks because the end ninety five that US was one of those that does not protect the other person. So I put a cloth masks over that and then I ended up doing facial as well and it was the right move except man that first day travel psychologically I, remember just getting. Into, the hotel room just going Oh, boy that was the longest day of travel. I've ever had because mentally you can't smile at people. You can't talk to people that got me off to a tough start and then it's a nice room but the windows don't open you can't have a window open. There's no balcony unfortunately, the floor when I got here had not been cleaned so I would pay some walk and have bare feet in at the end of the. Day My feet would be black and so that mentally can after four five, six days you're sitting there going man I feel like I'm in this kind of dirty box. The other stuff that the players have talked a lot about is that even if the accommodations are fairly nice, it's just the psychological restriction and lack of freedom and knowing that you cannot go where you want to go. You can go on a walk around the perimeter, but if you go that. Direction and if you even go ten feet past the perimeter, you'll get seven days a quarantine. You know the other stuff also as it's just the interpersonal relationships and the people that everybody left behind you know whether you have a family or a girlfriend or a boyfriend whatever it is all that stuff adds up to a pretty challenging landscape had a productive couple of days. I'm going to carve out a little mental health time and there's a big pick ballgame happening. This afternoon with me in a few writers. I'm getting there. Well. So speaking of all of these challenges as in the bubble, let's talk about this epic meltdown of the team, a lot of people expected to at all the clippers. mcnuggets Oregon on time La. Twenty point lead with two ten remaining. This is absolutely shocking. What went wrong with the La Against Denver I think the broadview for me would be that we always felt like this team was potentially far too transactional if that makes sense. Somebody the other day, use the word mercenaries where it's kind of like I collide Leonard Paul. George have a ton of talent and they looked very good for most of the regular season. But in the bubble, what you saw was a team that was still learning one another in a team that wants the pressure continued to be applied by these other very good playoff teams. They did not have the fabric, the togetherness that connectivity and leadership to get through that. In Game Seven, I sat about twenty feet away from the clippers bench and that meant that I watched a clippers bench that with around seven minutes to go and I think they were down around thirteen at the time they just completely look like they gave up. This is what your best players got to elevate their game. And the clippers have disappointed asphalt. From the field. Two points in the fourth quarter. And frustrated, the stock of the heads went down the talking stopped you had all of a sudden whereas earlier in the game there was a flood of support and clapping from guys on the bench and intensity and passion. You had the golf clap clippers owner Steve bomber feeling like limber fans right now. I am absolutely shocked. Give this Denver Nuggets team a lot of credit. have taken the fight away from the clippers. deservedly. So the leadership thing is what they need to analyse going forward because as amazing Kawhi is he's incredibly quiet. We know that and Paul George I don't think has really ever found his leadership voice maybe that's just not the type of personality he is. But if you compare them to that other team in La, you know you've got a dude and Lebron whose so fogel and raise on Rhonda who sell vocal and I think if I had to pinpoint one of the biggest factors that kind of led to their demise I think it would be that. you and our colleague Yvonne Boo reported on chemistry issues within the clippers back. In January, did you get the sense that those issues were still present inside the bubble? So I don't I wish I had a better pulse on that. You Doc was kind of the main voice that I heard. I went to to other practices where I would listen closely to what doc had to say, and one thing that struck me was he would very candidly talk about how they were still learning each other as a team in the middle of the playoffs I look at the whole picture and I realize we haven't been together we haven't had a lot of time together. So I get it. You had the old guard, the Lou, Williams Pat Beverley mantras hair let group that did some pretty special things and the playoffs last year and was gritty and would play forty eight minutes a night if you wanted them to. Now, they tried to integrate with Choline Paul who came with the very different script and a very different style and combining the old and the new had its fits and starts, and certainly in the end, it seems like a lot of those things out. Cherishing teams are. The more chemistry for this group. D, better. I think that's really the tell at a tape with the season just didn't have enough time together. Paul George has been vocal about the mental toll of being in the bubble a couple of weeks ago. Paul George talked about being in a dark place whatever. The bubble got the best of me. I was just in a dark place. A really wasn't here. I checked out and SAM. You've gotten a taste of what it's like to be an isolation down there. We've just talked about that. Do you feel like Paul George and the clippers were maybe hit harder by the challenges of playing in this Environment Paul for sure I mean I applaud him for his willingness to speak openly about it, and then only he knows where his head was at in the later part of the series but I'll never forget I mean right corner. He shoots that three and it clicks off the backboard George. Why office to side of the backboard left corner he barely draws rim on three George Corner three way off short. Gets the rebound Paul George. Now, just to for ten from downtown they were more shook I don't know how to explain it than any NBA team I've ever seen in a crucial moment. I've never seen anything like that. So I don't know how Paul's State of mind came into play but I do think the clippers had a really hard time getting through all that stuff. So Sam what comes next for the clippers, they have a lot of strong personalities and obviously some divisions between them can they hold it together and be titled Favorites Again Next Year you know to be determined. There's already a little bit of a growing sense or at least questions around the League of are they is there any chance they would think about blowing this out because you got to remember to why Paul signed deals they're up next summer they can get out and and when they came to the clippers. People felt like it was unofficially you know a lifetime contract because those guys have the personal connection to the area but I think we're quickly getting reminded that if the basketball situation is not right and if their work life is negative, then you absolutely can't rule out the possibility of them changing their minds. Year and maybe sounding somewhere else you know the NBA rules are when you have a superstar a year away from free agency YOU'RE GONNA probably have to take those phone calls from other teams if you're not getting assurances and promises from those players that they're not going anywhere. So they've got a lot of questions to have answered and it's going to be painful for them to watch this Lakers nuggets series knowing how close they came.

Inside the BLAST Restructure

"Blasts saying corona has hit our bank account a little bit. We gotTA restructure this if we want to really make it beneficial for the long haul. So what they're doing is moving forward, they will be increasing the participation fees paid two teams and reducing the prize money again. The I feel like this was kind of lost in the tweet because their initial tweet didn't really explain very well, the total sum paid by blast will remain identical. Okay. So I think that's important at the end of the day to realize that however the kicker here. Is the players aren't necessarily seeing that payout for participation. They see a lot of times in their contracts, the prize money. So you're taking away prize money to give it to direct payout to the ORG which you're like okay. Well, what's the big deal? It's all going to the same place not necessarily because pending on your contract pending on the Org again they only give you your pay right they give you what you agreed for on a payment and the prize money. So the double whammy here is that they failed to consult the counter. Strike Professional Players Association the CS. On this manner question for you why do they have to do that? That's a very good question which I'm glad you brought it up because I always every time this comes up in the world of counterstrike with. Like the CS PPA. Up We were not consulted about this we will be speaking with them behind closed doors blah blah, blah no one here heard about this at what point do they? Do you think they call an emergency meeting and say guys do people even know were around? Like do they like and I've said this before I feel like they have lost their own way whereas before it came out, it was, hey, we wanna look out what's best for the players while also working with tournament organizers and or gigs. To figure out what's best for like the system right now while then it's kind of turned into well, no, we feel like it should just be this way and we're going to create our own rankings because we don't like the way they do it You know things like that. I? Guess. You know perfect player union world. Yes. You would consult the players if you're going to change the payout. However if they didn't need you to start it, why would they consult you to change it? I'm probably GONNA take like a approach on this that if any players listening, I apologize ahead of time but like in a way what Henry g did by releasing the salary information I, say Henry Cloud Nine as the cloud nine decision right team decision to release salary? Information. Like you're not gonNA get a ton of sympathy from me at least when it comes to a little bit more money going into the owners pockets because what I see like again, this is one hundred percent my point of view I. don't even know if you agree with this what? I what I see in counterstrike right now is a game that is getting to this Odd Breaking Point doesn't mean the game's going to go away or die or nothing like that. I'm just saying it's at a point where. There's just this top end were just really top heavy in the fall off to me is is fairly massive when it comes to the landscape or the overall ecosystem of counterstrike, we're not seeing a ton of new teams invest into counterstrike. We've talked to team owners that have said it's a bad investment other than getting your name out there like if you're willing if you're willing to put in the money to be one of the top five. Great, it's good recognition by kind of beyond that. We see several team owners taking cheaper. Pats just to stay. Around in counter strike, but not necessarily the compete at the highest level because they know. To do that, it's millions of dollars in now we see a contract for the first time right now I know that includes Alex is a buyout but let's just say he's he's making around three four hundred K. annually off of this contract. Plus a buy out fee and then he's getting prize money from the six hundred events that go on throughout the year. Right? It's not like blast has. One. Event there multiple events in including one pretty much. Every weekend at this point, right weather's blast or star ladder ESL or face it. There's an event. Every single weekend at this point players are making really good money. Now I know there's a saying like, well, it's never enough right like you should be able to get whatever you're able to will. This was an opportunity for the elders in blast toward together in make making a little bit more beneficial for the ORG is. A huge problem in that. If they didn't consult with them. It's because they chose not to you know they didn't WanNa do it like we know you guys are making a ton of money. We need ours. Also a blast is still paying out the same amount, but I do feel for ownership groups right now in counterstrike because it is so outrageously expensive ended it's taken away from us a little bit in my mind because of how inflated the cost of Gone We've seen. Teams completely just wipe themselves out of counterstrike together we saw cloud nine one of the biggest stories take two year hiatus essentially from the game because they didn't want to compete at a high level. That's what it came down to. Right. They have the money the one of the most valuable orange but chose not to spend. Yeah. In put all their resources into counterstrike instead don't have two dollar and team cloud nine the just enough to stay relevant. That's it. They did the again that we've seen several teams do let's keep our name in the game refloating around right. If his top thirty we'RE STILL ON HDTV, we're still going to be in a handful of events 'cause re cloud nine a but at the end of the day, they didn't see it worthwhile to invest in the counter strike again, they're coming back now but that's after they have two dollar and teams in they're probably saying good success in other areas. Yeah. Ah Let. Me Tell you where I have a problem with because ultimately I think I leaned closer to you. My problem is not that they didn't consult with the Players Association. 'cause consulting means a conversation. Right? My problem is if there was no heads up given because it's not like this is in the off season of blast there in the middle of the event, right? They are still in the tournament mode four like the main blast that will eventually lead to like their big major, right For blast. That's where I have the issue because if you're if you're changing the prize pool mid tournament and not giving them a heads up I. Understand the reason. Obviously. We don't know all the numbers, but all we constantly hear about. How you know the tournament organizers make barely any money and the owners encounter strike especially, pretty much lose money. Right. Having a counter strike team. And yet. Always see from these players are Gucci watches you know Yeezy. Right like they're doing pretty okay. Not Every player I understand that. But for the most part, they're doing pretty okay with their salaries. Heard. From counterstrike pros saying that they won't go to events unless they're staying five star hotels for the most part like the best of the best tower tournament organizers where the. Name anything here but there's a place will say locally where I'm not even kidding you next door, there is a walkway, a covered walkway that leads from the hotel to the place where they were having the event and the players didn't want to stay at the hotel because it wasn't nice enough and this hotel is a Sheridan. It wasn't like a king to know knock on. Lucina. It's a shared. Sakes. Like. Four Star Hotel Four Seasons or anything but. Still pretty good and they wouldn't do it. So then the tournament organizers had to switch the hotel, right? The players went there and said, nope, this isn't up to our standards then switched the hotels and everything here like don't get it twisted. And it's actress counterstrike I'd say most East sports athletes. For being guys that like have very minimum requirements to get by in life like I've seen your room behind your Webcam right we know how some of these guys live they have very high standards when it comes to like pampering them. So No, I think for blast to take a conscious stand and be like we can't survive doing this. Let me ask the players this would you rather have more prize money? Or. Would you rather have? Would you rather have more prize money and blast fold after this because they can't afford To recoup or would you rather have? A reputable event. In blast payout a little less give your or more money to hopefully that will come back to you in some way and then being able to continue because right now that's the only option you have chances are that money is not going back to them in some way though right like. Chances are the orange will pocket money or use it for their expenses that even if? Up The fridge some you out. You know we upgrade the stream room for you guys our facilitation. Pull a microphone get you that private jet.

Philadelphia residents follow mask guidelines, study says

"Finds that Philadelphians they're doing a pretty good job of wearing mass to prevent the spread of coded 19 K Y. W. City Hall Bureau chief Pat Lobe reports. Apple iPad, Watch and Home bundle: Breaking down all the announcements

"Apple held its big September event today, but there was no iphone. So was the IPAD Apple Watch any new bundle enough? I wrote a Chang charged. With me to break everything down is senior editor at large and apple expert. Sure. I high in a it's been a afternoon for there's been a going on. Let's let's break it all down I. Guess by sequence of when they announce their their various products is talking about the apple. I have to remember. Okay. Yeah. It was secrets quartz. Which? In apple years like three years. Let's let's talk about Apple. Watch was the first off the bad. It was the Apple Watch series six and Apple Watch S C you break down these products rest yeah. It's interesting. So the Apple Watch is very clearly increasingly becoming a health device and to people who've been watching this is not a surprise. Apple found a lot of success turning it into a sport device. That started with the second generation Apple Watch when they made swim proof as what they called it not really waterproof pet swim proof and ever since then they've really been adding a lot more features for health and fitness will now they're adding even another feature for health, which is that going to measure your blood oxygen levels and this is going to do it in. Two ways one will be to do it. If you just want to do it now you push a button and it'll measure over fifteen seconds and uses all sorts of infrared lights in some magic by being you get a number and then it'll also do it in intervals just kind of behind the scenes. So just like with the heart center, if suddenly some something seems completely. Off The watch tap heuristic and say, Hey, you might want to look into this, which is what has saved a lot of people's lives. Yeah. Idea civilized was a big deal that that Promo video they ran to for really unveiling these products just was laid it on pretty heavy about the fact that this is this can save your life. Now I must have been Apple Watch. The reality is that this type of technology is very impactful right I mean it's it's kind of stuff like it's it's really sappy to talk about like how disability functions inside of the iphone arena video game console change people's but they do right there. There are entire people who who were stuck indoors not able to do anything or they were blind and they weren't able to live a normal life and they're able to do so much more now because of the technology that's come from why from. Different phones and all sorts of other stuff. So it's not surprising apples laying this on thick because on some level they they've actually saved lives. They deserve to be able to say that, but I think it's going to be interesting to see whether people buy into this idea over. All right. It's still a nerdy thing. It's still an expensive thing and that's that's a hard sell to people who haven't already bought it read just to be clear like the. Blood oxygen like what is it? What does it actually do be able to detect and monitor that like what is that allowing Apple Watch to do so in a lot of ways, this falls under everything else that we've always heard about various health functions and it was actually in the t at the ending card on their announcements. If you go watch the video, you go to the very end it says this is not meant for medical purposes, right? So. This is really just kind to help you quantify your body and your life, and this is one of the problems we've all had with fitbit and everything else. It's cool to get this data and sometimes it's helpful. But reality is once I've gotten him for like six months. One more do I need right and you know my wife doesn't care about any of the data that she She hasn't even tracker steps anymore. She just cares about whether she closes the rings. That's it right. So it's it's actually a lot of this data is is kind of you don't it's helping with all that right in kind of helping you set goals and get there. But a lot of the state is unnecessary. Apple's doing it because they say look it's going to help us with the. Overall kind telling you what your health is and maybe will maybe it won't I don't know. But we'll see we'll say how how much does this they start for? Yes. So that's the other thing is that this device is going to be three ninety nine to start, which is not cheap and you know, and the other thing also is that they have this cheaper phone watch which. is to Sunday nine starts called the Apple Watch S E and I guess for special edition we never know what these letters mean and one of the things about this thing is that basically a repackaged Apple Watch series three, right so it has the fall detection, which is something that the introduced a while back in a lot of people were really you know they were thinking hey. Elderly people you know they have this I fallen and I can't get up little buttons. Now, they can do their watch. So they're adding some of these functions that they do see a lot of. People. Kind of getting interested in into this device two, hundred, seventy, nine dollars in Stephanie Cheaper. We'll see whether people want it, but it says something yeah. That's two hundred ninety nine seems a little too expensive considering the the series three is still around one hundred and fifty dollars a year. It's not a huge difference between the two, seventy nine and the three, ninety nine. Series six that like I don't know there's that struck me as little expensive for those quote unquote affordable model. I mean think about Black Friday, right one of the things that I have always of found interesting about apple having covered it. Now for more than a decade, is that in a long time ago it apples pears didn't move like there was never a sale on their phones there was never a sale on their. Computers it was very rare and it was only a little bit. But now we're starting to see a sales on them when they come out right and we're seeing prices dropped dramatically during holiday sales. So to seventy nine to start yeah, that does feel a little heart but I wouldn't be surprised to see that creep down to two hundred by the end of this year the other the other big lot unveiled was two new. ipads. So let's let's go into the IPAD at the higher end version what what is new about this new air? Yeah. It takes a lot of the feeling of the pack pro. So it actually has a this more square look to it, which if you care Kinda Cool Stephanie Different and it also has a bigger screen that is actually looks a lot like the IPAD pro so you may remember the IPAD pro they got. Rid of the touch ID, right that button that allows you to use your fingerprint. So this one does not have the face unlock like the IPAD pro instead touch ideas now in the button on the side that you do the power button, that's kind of course. So they that's how they were able to lower the prices from the IPAD pro. It still has a very powerful chip they say it's much more powerful than chromebooks. UPS and all that, and we'll see you know everyone has to do their tests, but it's ships in October for five hundred, ninety, nine dollars again, not cheap and way more expensive than the cheapest chromebooks out there. So we'll see whether people are interested. Yeah. I'll say that pay particular attention that touch ID because it's it is abundant on the top of the screen, not screen top of the device itself it's basically the power bun. I would be intrigued to see if they stick that into the iphone twelve, it would be really smart because right now face ideas essentially useless when you're wearing a mask. So having some sort of touch ID center and I don't think they've got the under glass fingerprint sensor thing down pat yet this would be a good a good compromise.

Unpacking the Apple Watch/iPad event

"Hey Everyone Jefferson Graham Herr hockey tech. I'm here with my friend Richton Bureau Rich on tech from KTLA. And rich and I have been covering Abbas events for years, there was a new one today it was virtual it was very polished. They went off to show new apple watches new subscription services to new IPADS and Gosh. Rich I felt it was missing so much. Don't fill the excitement that we normally feel how about you well, I think you're right it was it. was rushed. It was very fast and there was something that was missing. I'm not sure what it was but I think that apple knows that everyone really cares about the iphone the most and when it's not iphone, they wanted to sort of downplay the excitement. That's the way I fell. So we got a lot of stuff, but everyone's still wants to know about the IPHONE. Now we got a lot of stuff. They didn't talk about the new iphone because it's delayed until October mid October could be as late as November. So they wanted to talk about the watch and the IPAD and I could give it give you the one hour event in two sentences. It's two new IPADS that are have more powerful chips in there faster than ever. It's a new watch that that can check your blood oxygen and a cheaper watch for two seventy nine. That's in-between the the watch him twenty seventeen, and the the new introduced to new subscription services for fitness and for everything that they do and Iowa's fourteen tomorrow there's an hour. Good I'm impressed but here's the biggest news. So so yes, that is the big headlines, but then you have to unpack everything and that's what takes time going through all the little features that apple mentioned all the things that they said, all the things that they did not say, but to me, I think one of the biggest growth places for apple will be the new. Apple. Watch family setup, which allows you to as a parent. You use your iphone to set up a child's Apple Watch and this is very important Jefferson because apple does not want to set. The Apple Watch free because what would that do? That would enable people to have an Apple Watch with any phone they want and they want to keep people on the apple ecosystem. So this new family setup allows a parent to set up the watch for their child. So you're still SORTA tethered, but they can grow a lot of apple watch sales for parents buying these for their kids. Now, we've sat in the audience and we've enthused and we've had a really good time covering these events for several years. Would we have gotten more out of today if it'd been live? I. Think. So I think we would have I mean number one you get to go hands on with the gadget afterwards that's always a nice plus You know you're in the audience I I don't think it moves quite as fast when it's in person and I'm sitting here in front of at least one, two, three, four screens and it was tough for me to. Keep up with this and it's tough to kind of reference things. They mentioned the IPAD mistakenly said, it was the IPAD seven generation when it's the eighth generation I, mean, how do you keep track of all these things and some of these things are so nuanced like how do you describe what the new IPAD is like I mean it's just faster. I mean. That's really You know I don't know it's like it's tough sometimes to kind of really pinpoint what is better about these devices many of them are evolution at this point. And of course, they've been saying that every every device they come out with this faster for years I never thought the I pat slow, but I don't play a lot of games on it well, and I think that it sometimes the apps do take more I mean my kids are still I look these things do last a long time and when people ask about apple versus other products and they made a big deal today to to pinpoint the ipad being faster than a windows laptop being re much faster than an android. Tablet and way faster than a

How COVID accelerated a 20-year surge in demand for pets

"The pandemic is driving up demand for pets. There's an expert out there who says there was already a growing demand for pets, particularly dogs You're about to hear from Mark Cushing. He's the CEO of the Animal Policy group. He's the author of a book called Pet Nation. The Love Affair that changed America. And here's what he says is causing all of this is what he told Yahoo News. The truth is covert accelerated, but it just reflects what's been a 20 year, Serge And demand for Pat's particularly dogs. Adam and we have a shortage. I put the shore aged between 1 to 2 million dogs per year, forcing us to go overseas to some pretty rough neighborhoods. The supply needs. Who knew wanted two million shortage a year there were importing so this the extent that we have to go overseas to get them. I mean, we always thought that you're no spaying and neuter and the shelters are full and right. Well, that kind of might be the case. Because we drilled down a little bit deeper right now, and Cushing says that there's a network of animal shelters all across the U. S. And they shared dogs with each other. So when one shelter runs out, another shelter sends more. There are pockets in the deep South, Lower Midwest in southwest for shelters are full of animals. Most shelters air out of dogs. By noon on Saturday, and I'd say in the Greater New York area if you're looking for a dog, you better get there on Thursday or Friday. Shelters supply about 25% of all dogs annually. And so the issue isn't the fact that shelters are chock full when people don't want a shelter, puppy. No, no, The issue is there just aren't enough dogs. Southern shelter. Send dogs to the Northeast East. Tennessee Feeds Buffalo, Alabama, please. New Jersey, Mississippi feeds Minneapolis. Ella feeds Porter Ryan from originally in Seattle. So there's kind of a canine freedom train ad hoc economy here a sufficient But it's reflecting the fact that the shelter's particularly above the Mason Dixon line, and anybody remembers that phrase don't have dogs. So Christina they're moving dogs from shelter to shelter all across America, because some have greater demand than others. And why didn't we get into the pet industry? Why did we not invest in pet supplies? Good. Because you know how many supplies come with a pet? Well, you know, because you're getting a second one. Sure do. We're going to have double the supplies, double beds, the pooper scooper, the whole everything right? But even all the ancillary businesses that have cropped up and popped up because of that there are pet cemeteries. Right. There are people who all they do is take care of pets of wealthy people. That's all they do. There's a travel website that if you want to go stay in a beautiful home in Paris and take care of someone's poodle. You could do that for free. So just all you have to do is take care of the rest. All you have to do is take care of their pets. It's pet sitters like international or something and you go stay for free anywhere and take care of someone's lab. Oh, that's not

"To camp, and they're going to say it's an open competition for the starting job. New, England's not once you just and out starting jobs before camp begin so it'll be an open competition, but I think everybody recognizes that if cam missed elsie and he hasn't taken his physical yet for the Patriots. He hasn't signed the contract for the Patriots, but if he's healthy, he's the favourite to get that story job. Part to imagine doesn't winning jared. Stadium is a guy again. They have on the rookie contracts, and they got all these quarterbacks together together. They're not paying very much. Why not take that chance on Cam? I think they've used. Used them as part of their future, but they got camera one year. Deal right now during go ahead naked looking not. I'm just surprised that we are I. I'm excited about moving forward to projecting, but I'm surprised that we haven't discussed. Black Camden ended up other places, because I understand that this seems like a smart choice. In New England has built up a lot of goodwill amongst most players in the league where you think new. England take care of, but for a couple of million dollars. Thirty one other teams in the League should have been offering Cam Newton a job. Even if it's just for backup, so I'm shock that Bill Belichick. And this lucky situation once again to grab one of these veteran guys late into their career and. Cam didn't have interest elsewhere. That's why period I don't believe the most interest I. don't believe I don't think they knew. Maybe the other didn't know what came was willing to play for 'cause. There's no way that these other teams would be realistically considering Cam Newton at this point. Maybe it's a situation. Where he looked at it and said I can go there and play like there aren't too many places, Nick, you're talking about being a backup. It's one thing to take less money and sit. It's another thing to take money Tim Hasselbeck. Be Able to prove I'm still Cam Newton and next year get that thirty million dollar contract he wants. Where's the landing spot like that ends up being the problem. Where's the landing spot? Look at all. These teams that have unproven second year quarterbacks new. England was certainly one of them. You can look at the Broncos. The broncos aren't interested in that. They kind of believe in drew lock. You look at what happened in Jacksonville with somebody like meant you like I think. They felt like there was enough promising yet up a promising. Promising Young quarterback on rookie deal. Where is that situation where Cam knows? Pay To say I'm not competing with a former first rounder to be the starter. I'm going in competing with late fourth rounder to be the starting quarterback, and that's really the last available chair, right? We've been saying all along. It made sense for new. England made sense for Cam. And now here they are. They're together. Guys sit tight because there's another piece. A busy day, in Patriot land.

"It's the G. League or go overseas so what the. Ncwa has shown us that they'll do is they'll maintain control until force to relinquish it and that's what's happening now when you listen to Jay. Talk about some of the oversight. That's going to have to come into play in order for this to be viable. That's because they weren't planning on doing this. This isn't something that the NCWA truly wants to be behind. But they have been forced into and so for me. I think this is a start. But I don't know if they will never ever be at the point or the level that will be needed to compete with some of these other entities because they started so late and they fought it so long and I agree with Jay Bilas. There was no principle behind fighting it other than control and now they find themselves in the situation. I don't think they ever get out of so. J will come back to thinking about this too grainy for a second. I was thinking about this sort of second rainy and Bobby Rhine especially with you guys and football you guys going to be the first of this okay. So you're dealing with this. You're trying to implement this right now with all this new legislation all these new enforcement strategies that you're trying to put together out of thin air in order to react right on top of that. What happens if we actually don't have fans that attend football games this season into then? You don't have football right then. What you're going to see a decrease of the one sport screening want. It affects title nine football and basketball subsidize a lot of other sports throughout the school. So is just the beginning of a slew of issues for the NC Double A. That wants to get in there reactive. If they have been proactive in planning this stuff. This would've already been in place to help carry that issue that they're going to have in this current season coming up. Well Bobby one of the things that I think has happened. Here is so much conversation on this show and others about just how important the money that football generates is has made it very difficult to try and argue that. This isn't a business at some point. I think that even the NC double A. cannot continue to carry that out. They finally pulled her head out the sand a little bit and one of the other interesting pieces that came in came out with this With the boy is the players aren't going to be allowed to have any university marks on them which is understandable but begin to think about this. This happens in the NFL all the time you have your sponsorship with the NFL Geyser players and if they marry those two things together. They're allowed to do it. Part of the reason I think the incident way green is they also want some of the players chewing into the university's profits for some of these different marketing deals. That have become so rich to help finance these things because the money from football especially drives all the other sports without it college. Athletics is we know. I think we'll begin to cease to exist. I we're GONNA talk more about this a little bit later in the program as well. Paul Finebaum Laura and others Jalen. "Can get a guy like Cam. Newton acclamated to their offense and adjust things to make them work for him. Also believe he would be a good thing because they don't have the wide receivers on the outside usually create their own separation. So now you have a guy that could get you into second play opportunities but also usually happens during this time it's teams are not as teams are in phase three phase. Two of whatever the off season program is and you start to see what you have in a quarterback room or what you have in any position or room and right now. You're not getting to see that from Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer. Maybe once these guys can get back to the facility they may look at Jarrett Stidham and say you know what he isn't the guy that we thought in cameras still around then maybe check it out. Get Him in your building and see if he's fit. I think the one thing I do remember about Jarret Stidham is. He came into a game early on in the season against the New York jets. He do a pick six to Jamal Adams in he got pulled. Nah I know they're more things that go into evaluating a quarterback and you get to see them at practice. You've done your scouting but that doesn't look like a guy who can lead the New England patriots to the level of play that they want this season so I'll be interested to see how things go from here. Lewis played for bill. You know him. Well how do you see this thing playing out for the Patriots? And what do you think happens for Cam? Yeah I think for the Patriots says Mike Reese alluded to. They really liked the fit that jared provides them at the quarterback position him along with Brian. Hoyer I know that Josh is a big fan of his. I know that they like how he developed last year and I know that one Snapshot Against The New York jets is not a favorable one. And that's the one that sticks in people's minds but he had a very very good preseason. They really did like how he learned. This offense under Tom Brady. They like how he executed this offense in the preseason. They like his decision making. They'd like his accuracy as something that might might Greece's already said that that those are the number one and number two things that they look for in quarterbacks and they feel as though with this off season with the online training that they are doing up there as far as their off season is concerned the jared is GonNa make tremendous jumps. And they're going to be able to hit the ground running here in the fall and look the way they are building this football team. I mean they're building inside out. They draft the two tight ends. This year it's going to be very much so similar to what they have done in the past so as far as Cam. Newton is concerned. You know what's interesting? What are the two best teams that really stick out to me as far as being good fits.

"Ball out of Aaron Rodgers. Hands. This doesn't end well to me. Emma Rodgers will play in a different uniform before he retired right doesn't end well and it also doesn't end soon so Lewis. I'll I'll ask you if you agree. We just heard are we heard. Brett farve saying do you believe Aaron Rodgers winds up playing somewhere else? No DOUBT NO DOUBT. I think. Twenty twenty two season when you will see him play elsewhere. Because that's what makes the most sense for them from a cat perspective? Now could he play somewhere else in as soon as twenty twenty one sure he could. I mean he has a roster bonus that comes do believe the third day of the new League Year in two thousand twenty one he would carry about a thirty million dollar plus dead money cabinet to the football team but again when you combine that with the cabinet that Jordan love will carry. It's something again you could stomach. It wouldn't be ideal but if this relationship really starts to deteriorate here in the two thousand twenty season and they go. Hey Look Jordan's ready to go. I'll La Patrick Mahomes when he really sat for one year behind Alex Smith Jordan's ready to go here and twenty twenty one and doesn't want to be here as are just pointed out. This is really having a negative effect on the locker room. We need to move forward from here. Well then maybe see them make that you could possibly see them. Make that kind of aggressive move. It's not out of the question but it wouldn't be ideal for them. See this is just a situation overall. Though that there's no doubt that they thought about this beforehand they knew what the ramifications were going to be in quite honestly. They didn't care they're looking forward to not only the short-term where they can compete but the long term as well and they don't really care how this affects. Aaron honestly incredible to me. This is a team that was thirteen and three that we are talking about guys. Stay with me. We have tons and tons more on this morning continues but another huge story. Yesterday that.

"Giants loving bias. No not at all because I think this is important because this is still for the NFC east into the part. That's important about. It is any of these things. We're GONNA do anything in the playoffs if the Dallas cowboys getting to the playoffs and we can see the Dallas cowboys played against the Los Angeles. Rams nobody wants to see them. If you're a Seattle or your San Francisco you you don't want to go to. At and T.. Stadium half the place his team in a wildcard but his apart I think you missing and this is what I love because you see. You're getting in the way of. We're my mom. Mentality is done disdain. Based on what you're saying and based on what Max is said about cost wouldn't that be the Dallas cowboys have expectations. There's this weekend expected Hindi do. How do they do when ahead see? This was right mileage because this is what I'm talking about winning in what you remember when Dj Pours puts his montage together. You're going to see me right here. Why is just way what can go wrong? We'll go. I'm telling you right now. They got a week ago. Listen listen listen let me say so right now first of all. They're doing a great job Watson on Sunday nights with my man. Scott Van Pelt. Here's the deal. So you're saying you it'll be a pick the dallas cowboys and blow in this game. Could you imagine how you will be there. It's beautiful it's it is now set up. I'm just trying to just relax. Don't get in the way it is. Don't get away you go ahead and getting away because you sitting up. They say they shouldn't lose this absolutely positively. They should not lose this game. I love to hear that that makes me feel good. And when I hear people say that about the original question offense handled. The Eagles offense handle the defense specialty. The way my words say. There's no shot though they're favored by Paul. How's there no shop? Hi this is too low if this team is what Jerry Jones started was from a roster perspective and you saw them play accidentally figure out that if we give the ball to Zeki. Thank you Elliot that we can block people up. Run the football and play play action. Offer that that team understanding that going into this game this momentum. It shouldn't be closed. Shouldn't even be closed she. She eats the Eagles Secondary Alive. Our number three against the rush which basically means they're gonNA force you throw the football stay writing we do we hold on. Stay right there with the play action because this goes to something that Stephen a likes to bring up a lot. About how coal you doug. Peterson simplified the offense for Nick foles. That's what you kept saying. Wording out of Philadelphia has been that Carson was doesn't like to run that stuff like play action might help them like the quarterback back because a lot of influence in that organization and doesn't like to do some of the stuff. According to the reporting that would lead to more success. That's also on the quarterback awesome. Do whatever it takes to win the game so we get this straight Max. Click where you're saying. Is this a formula for the Eagles to win Flip Ball Games but Carson Carson Wentz won't let them know that what you're saying that's not going to let you do the question you do heart attack part of the you're trying to get me to sign off on the problem in the city. Part of the problem is that Carson Wentz has too much influence in the organization is too young player to truly know what is talked about a fair enough. Stop right there. I'm sort of veer left. Please forgive me van left for this job. You do understand that somebody that was even even younger experiencewise name Baker Mayfield. Did the same exact. How's that working out and you had no problem with it coming into the season well zero? Aw I thought that if you give a guy an offensive coordinator type that. He's comfortable with as his coach given the talent on that team. That would be enough lesson lesson learned. He's not an executive head. Coaches has to have executive quality to having a understand. But what I'm saying you Max Kellerman you you had a problem with a guy that was an MVP candidate there's been in this league for years having quote unquote executive power but after six or seven games as a starter. You had no problem with Baker Mayfield having that executive Paolo. You're not understand. Why vending very well I am saying that Carson Wentz was given the keys at too young an age to really know what to do? And as a result it's been downhill okay. was that got to do with Baker Mayfield work out take away if Mayfield that kind of influence clearly. That wasn't good. Here's what I'm saying about Carson Wentz understand that your narrative already above him is not necessarily only about his own field players. Not necessarily about is telling us about the other things he's had a hand in I believe that Carson Wentz is willing to do what what it takes to get this team to win and sometimes what happens is is a quarterback you want to do as much as you possibly can. He may believe that those things don't benefit the team. Doug Doug Peterson makes the decision that it's run. I and we play off of that. That's what the eagles have heard anything other than whence wants to win. And he's willing to work hard for it. That is not my criticism awesome. I understand that everyone said the same thing about that. That doesn't mean that he's not like if you give a player too much power too soon even with good intentions. That doesn't mean that they're gonNA use that in the best way. I mean look what happened to hit evil. Can I ask you a question. Do you truly believe right. Now that Dak Prescott is more talented head then Carson no I think Carson Wentz clearly more talented and Dak Prescott talented. I don't think it's clear anymore. I think he's no who's better is not clear talent it's Carson Wentz. Better is not just for my edification. Please feel free to take the floor. What when you say that? It is clear that costs a wint is more talented than Dak Prescott. What is it that caused? A wins does from a talent perspective that you have those makes throws it very few other guys can make including deck like Carson. Wentz has armed talent for days. He's also mobile and tough and he's done a lot of Greek wreaked things like was he was more talented than say. When I'm saying it's clearly I'm like wait a minute? I've seen that makes him pretty damn good throat wrong with. I think he runs just as good with the football when he wants to. He runs just as good with the football toughest news. He's never gain the DAX. Leadership qualities are better than winces leadership qualities. And that's important and that may be one of the reasons why it's a question who's better when I'm saying thing is based on talent. The kind of stuff we call so better so it shouldn't be it shouldn't be better roster we look at these teams who right now the cowboy right the teams. Are we having a conversation because about these two teams because they sit in the same place in the NFC. Yes for sure right. And so you're looking at a team right right. But you're looking at a team that doesn't have the type of roster that the Dallas cowboys has with the quarterback who is doing more with less and so when we start to compare these guys about who is better. You can't just look at the numbers you gotTa look at where you have your g's Deg Prescott has a roster. That is better but your team is when our cowboys juggernaut or not if Aaron Rodgers were Lamar. Lamar hasn't done it long enough for Patrick Mahomes right because we've seen the right. If someone like that had less this you will go into this game. Go no they got a shot because of that guy is Carson Wentz that guy no he can't blow K.. But no one can right because I thought Carson Wentz was one of those guys is that if he can't do it then no one can. He's not one of those so he he's a failure and not enough by your standards that you had set for by the standard. He set for himself his way right so so the year. Two thousand seventeen he. He's the league. MVP candidate that's when he got to Andrew. Tom Brady eventually guy since then. He hasn't been close to that guy but he's been very every day good and especially he's been recently. He's in the of the thirty two starting quarterbacks he's in the top half and that's all I can say top fifteen was thinking thing about that throw to the end zone to win it. For seconds left combining home and auto with state farm gets you great coverage for less combining nineties and being with state farm radio ADS champ covered for free.

"You by chase. It all comes down to week. Sixteen in Philly I tape. We'll be there for all of it. The cowboys signed a former. MVP to help short defensive roster with mounting injury sources told ESPN that Dallas signed veteran linebacker Malcolm Smith mid the cowboys. Defense banged up a bit heading into Philadelphia. ESPN's top ultra reports lane. Bandera is expected to miss the game. While Sean Lee continues to battle injuries though he he did play last week versus the Rams Ryan Clark with us. Now let's look look good good good good maximum to start with you on this. How confident argue that? The banged up eagles. Offense can handle the cowboys defense. Not Very know. The cowboys defense is banged up to but but not very confident about the eagles offense right now. First of all people think I've been hard on Carson Wentz. Yeah that's right 'cause I don't view in Carson. wentz is an average player an average quarterback he was an MVP level player. I thought he was the end of the League. Thirteen weeks a couple of years ago and I have not seen that guy since glimpses here and there that throw the sand lake. He's spectacular talent. So yeah it's not just like the same old same old for Carson Wentz judging like replacement policemen's level guy and he needed. He needed what to get by Washington last minute. AEROBICS STREET FOURTH QUARTER GAME winner to get by Wash- Washington shouldn't you need to come through the game winner so molly even if you're like well that shows you. He's ticking and he's getting it back together. Well then the rest of the team's not which the arguments David has been making at. Ah No either way any way you slice it. Dallas feeling good about themselves off that performance against the rams even though they're banged up I like their defense against the eagles offense right now for me personally listen. Dallas is the more talented team. I believe that this clear but I'm thinking about I'm just compartmentalizing this weekend being an NFC east match up in a town that I worked in for seventeen years in Philadelphia knowing what that environment is going to be like plus plus in Dallas has struggles this season certainly. They didn't struggle against the Philadelphia Eagles. The two teams that they blew out with a Philadelphia. He was in the Los Angeles. Rams but that was in. Dallas is knowing that you've got beat down by Dallas just a few weeks earlier in Big d knowing that a division crown is on the line in this. This game is in Philadelphia. You combine that with the parts of the step up again. desha Jackson is not going to be there. We understand that that urge is going to be this kid. Santa's there's going to be there. The offensive line is going to be there Carson Wentz. Obviously he's got a lot to prove because he's never played in a post season game. I think all the elements are there for potential into a upset meaning for the eagles to play out of their minds for the Eagles to play above board when their season on the line against Buffalo. They answered the call in Buffalo. That was against a pretty damn good buffalo team which ultimately beat the Dallas cowboys on Thanksgiving night in no way. Am I saying that the eagles are better than the cowboys particularly only being depleted as they off but when you consider that you got injuries at cornerback. Inner injuries at the linebacker spot. Now one or two. I do think that leaves leaves wiggle room for the Eagles to capitalize off of something and I think that it wouldn't surprise me at all if the eagles upset the cowboys this week the eagles have no chance to win this game. No chances they have no chance doing this game. IF THE DALLAS COWBOYS LOSE this game Jason Garrett should be fired in the locker room he should have to get over to get to the airport. I have to fly commercial the Carson wentz argument that we've always had was that going down the stretch to the playoffs. The last two all seasons. It was nick foles and coming into this year Carson Wentz didn't perform and you kind of look at what it took for Carson Wentz to win the last two games as it means the teams. No I think it means Carson Wentz has played amazing. Because you're playing with practice squad guys X.. quarterbacks being your number one wide receiver in Greg Greg Ward Award you lose Jordan Howard. You're running back if the Dallas cowboys go there to a place and we talked about Philly the last nine times they've been Jason. Garrett is seven Evan into against the Philadelphia Eagles in we're speaking about this Philadelphia Eagles offense against the Dallas cowboys defense. Are we gonNA talk about the Eagles defense. It's the same defense that made me think you know what Ryan Fitzpatrick whether they drafted quarterback Not In Miami. He deserves another contract for the way he had devante. Parker over at the secondary of the Philadelphia Eagles. Dwayne haskins comes in and goes for two sixty one last week. It looks good. This is a guy. We've been questioning align manning played so so well in the first half. We went from before they gave sit. And this dude should retire and it should be no doubt about it to sit at halftime. Going maybe somebody else is going to give this dude at what Carson Wentz has done with. This team has been to me as good as nick. foles winning the Super Bowl and being a super bowl. MVP because they are that bad. They are depleted pleaded. So if the Dallas Cowboys go here and this game is close. The Gary shouldn't even have the opportunity. It will definitely be that's the nature of the NFC the east. I agree with you about that but can we talk again about situational football for a second when you're on a team that's having those kind of hiccups and you haven't led them to a winning record and all those things and you're this talented guy but you're receivers dropped passes but you also regressed you showing regression throughout a lot of the year and now maybe you're leading comeback. Let's let's talk about situational football third and two six minutes left in a tie game. He holds the ball too long. And fumbles for the second time. He's led the League he's led the NFL and families came humanly. Things can't happen with the franchise quarterback and you have less slack. You Get Cutlass slack. When your team are dropping passes and you need to pick them up were you know like Carson cannot say? He's been playing amazing he's had some amazing sanders is amazing throw. Here's a hall of Fame Tight End Caliber Guy Right now. Another another tight end. Who is also pretty good? He has an emerging back. Who can do some things like you know? It's not like his offensive weapons quite as bad as as so. We're we're talking about an emerging. Also you have Boston's Scott who came in and played well in the Monday night game against the New York giants. This is a guy who was on practice squad. I think he's a good player player. I actually know him personally. But this isn't a guy that they were looking at the beginning of the season. That was going to help Carson Wentz Jordan. How was the number one rusher? And now he's out and I do think Mas Sanders has some special characteristics to his game that help out Carson Winston. But no Alshon Jeffery no Sean Jackson and you actually lose Zach Earth for a period of time against the Washington redskins. We look at other quarterbacks around the League if you say okay we're gonNA give Dak Prescott that roster the you expect him to go in and win games. If you give kirk cousins that roster do you expect him to go win game. Wait until we stay right there for a second cousins and Dak Prescott. That's one kind of animal. I'm on saying what I look at Carson Wentz. I thought I was when maybe not the whole to take home. The now Lamar. But you see guys like that and to Shawn Watson and Aaron Rodgers is Angela and I thought. Nah I'm looking at that kind of animal right but so we went back to early to season and we talked about the draft. She had dropped though it. They go whiteside drops they lose to two the game that they lose early seasons to Detroit. Right we come here. He was practically perfect in the game. Tying drive against the New York giants and in overtime he it was perfect in the game. The go ahead touchdown against the Washington redskins running what were those two teams again. The product in the fourth quarter. So that's Pete's to his team. That's the people that he is working with. But your quarterback needs to make a plan your depleted of skill position players. The way the eagles are you had to give him that credit. Ready the Pixie dust that you always speak about nick foles had sprinkled over everybody and everybody had him set up. You're leading Dallas. You have a depleted Dallas Defense you have Carson Wentz who's according to. You is apparently as good as he ever was. You have a running back. WHO's like the best they've had for a while? Now you've at least over the the last bunch of games you have a great tight end like you have enough things to get it done and yet you're saying that if they do anything. Fire the coach on the other team because also we got to look at the teams took Carson Wentz having here roic efforts to giant leave. How'd you beat the Dallas Cowboys? People are lowering the bar for Carson wentz career putting him in the conversation you speaking of that Lamar Jackson the plan. But what I'm saying is what he's done has shown you that he can win with with less he can find ways to win with lessons. He's taking all the mud I'm trying to do is I'm very disappointed. We would your argument. Only because first of all you're absolutely right and secondly you just don't Wanna listen to Max Kellerman because the fact of the matter is he's just sticking to his point because he made the point WanNa feel. I've actually very proud of to get to this point. Okay here's the reality of the situation. Shen it goes back to the same thing you said about. Everybody wanted to ignore the people around the quarterback. Because you're locked in on a quarterback with Tom Brady is not available with Carson Awesome Winstons guys that were dropping passes run wrong route again dropping. Pass repeat myself on that. Because that's what they were doing. And so when you look at it from that perspective particularly absolutely when you consider the fact that the joint Jackson out since week two absent the deep threat. And what have you. Obviously you got. People cannot hurts so there. During these other guys are Jackson you can touchdown. We'll who does he have the first of all Hollywood Brown mock engines and all God's not finished I'm pro bowl. They're not dropping passes A and B A lot of times. They're open because you're not just one but two spots because a Lamar Jackson running ability in case the cost and went. You're we're not thinking like that. You got conventional defenses. Going against them guys are not getting open. Obviously he feels the need to do more because he knows that he's the kind of talent necessary to produce so he's trying to make happy. He's all those things that you you just ignore. It turned real often without Wentz. Needs more so help around him. Then I thought the kind of player he is would need so I go back to mcnabb again right. mcnabb you talk about over achieving receivers. That's not true Stephen even like they weren't very good before Te'o got there and those were like high draft picks that weren't that great and MC NABB got to the NFC championship game every single year but Carson Wentz just got paid in such a way that you may not be able to go out and get them the help that he apparently needs in order to reach those kinds of heights. I mean like that's what what it is. I'm not making that up so you think if. He has a healthy Jeffrey and a healthy Jackson which he has on his team even with his contract. He's not. This team isn't a better team. He isn't a better Jackson accent of that equation. And all at once you had to show on Jackson. It's different things change because he could take the lid off his defense life. You can. But you're saying you're saying if he has has these this this meeting hall of Fame Titan Special Guy Question. This is a match up to five hundred teams limping into the playoffs. Are we over. Hyping this with our East east coast.

"All right so that was cam last week from a fifteen minute video. He posted to his youtube account meanwhile his backup. Kyle Allen got a second straight win on the road yesterday against the Texas. The panthers are now to know Kyle. Allen has taken over Ryan Clark back here with us. Max Cal looking at you should can be worried about his job depends how you define his job first of all the answers no right but but Steven A. has brought up a point matter of fact Stephen Eight. Why don't you start. I'll respond to your point. Thank you very much do think in this particular case. It's appropriate for me to respond because I've been on the record stating that it's possible Cam Newton bench now. Please understand what I'm saying. He's came and we understand what can the brand that is. Cam Newton what he means to the anthem franchisers all about but what I'd like to remind everybody says that injury against the Pittsburgh steelers he has not been the same in the argument that I've Made Ryan and and I've made to Max is that if Carl Allen comes in and they win games okay if you are Ron Rivera and Carolina Panthers Organization it could be a very dangerous situation for you to go back to camp because cam has not looked impressive. We understand primarily due to injury but even when cameras healthy studt athlete dead he is it was primarily because of the phenomenal athlete that he is and his ability to move the change with his feet not just as all that made him Great Cam Newton to be has never been a great passer of the football and then when you look at the Carolina Panthers and how rallied around Kyle Alex who by the way has four touchdowns not a single interceptions in this two game winning streak okay who's completing seventy one percent of his passes passes Cam Newton at least over the course of a season has never done that in his career obviously so when I'm looking at Carolina and I'm seeing big top victory yesterday over Houston in the victory for the squad okay they beat Arizona the week before but beating Houston and the Shawn Watson having to Shawn Watson out in the field working with the quarterbacks coach hours after a loss to the Carolina Panthers. I think said something I think it says that the troops of rallied around Kyle Ala they feel that they've got a chance with him and that's not to say an anyway on his best date in these better than Cam Newton when Cam Newton this healthy. The problem is is that again. He's playing within himself. Maybe North Turner's calling a different for game but if they keep winning with Colin I find it very difficult to believe that it's just an easy thing to do. That's why Rayo Ah that's where I'm at. That's why I wanted you to start the. NFL works like this. I don't care who you are and I always go back to Kurt Warner. Who won his job? Due to injury didn't let it go and then lost his job. Don't forget. Kurt Warner was an MVP superstar best player in the League according to many all that kind of stuff and like poster child for the League and gets hurt and Mark Bolger. He's okay when eaten up with a very good team and Kurt Warner never got his job back. Warner was still intrinsically intrinsically. An excellent football player wound up with the giants as a tackling dummy so you I manning didn't have to take the hits and he was still good wound up with Arizona's took. A Super Super Bowl had a chance to win that Super Bowl so this is my point about cam even in the event that something crazy happens like the Panthers Roloff six seven eight wins in a row in his absence and then Stephen. Your prediction comes true. They're like look man. We're winning. If it ain't broke don't fix it can never gets his job back. Then it depends on how you define job to answer this question. Should it be worried about his job because this is how I define camps job starting quarterback in the NFL. Even if you want to say franchise quarterback he'll be someone's franchise quarterback in the panthers or someone else but that's the point. It's different than if you have a guy who's like he's like Joe flacco right. He's the Ravens Guy but boy if he's not the ravens got off these anyone's guy for long that's not cam. Cam Is the panthers guy if for some free the way the events unfold he doesn't wind up being there guys anymore. CBS Like he's good enough that he will be somebody's got. I think that's a good point right. Cam will get an opportunity somewhere else if he's not of the Carolina Airline Panthers. I believe we understand that also believe he's going to be the starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers this year at some point and here's why I say say that Cam has been injured since the Pittsburgh steelers game last year on Thursday night he had to shoulder injury now you come into this year with the foot injury and so Campbell saying saying he is going to get back to one hundred percent one hundred per sick cam is much better than cow Allen at one hundred percent. Even if this team is winning. You know that right now as constructed colleague Alan cannot take you to a super bowl steven mentioned yesterday having the show watching on the field after the game with Quincy. Avery his quarterbacks coach that was because the Shawn Watson played bed. That's because will fuller had Ross Oss Kaku beat for a touchdown any overthrew him and then in the second half the Andrea Hopkins head the Carolina Panthers beat on the exact same post route and he overthrew through him is well. That's because they slide the protection one ray one way they lease. Eric agreed free off the backside he steps up and Vernon Butler forces a fumble. This is very much like we've seen with Nick foles in the Philadelphia Eagles that sometimes when you have an ultra talented player a transcendent player are at the position you coach differently people around play differently and so now understanding what this team is in the same thing that the Philadelphia Eagles new in Carson wins that even though we play a certain way with nick foes if we have a healthy Carson wince are ceiling is higher and and the Carolina Panthers who understand that Cam Newton can watch on the sidelines and see some different things go on when he's healthy and a hundred percent. He's The quarterback of this team couple of points number one. I'm still distracted by bowtie apologies so I didn't hear everything that you just have to say but I do. I know you're professional. I am and I and I can't maybe I can't Ryan Burrow but let me say this number to keep. Keep forgetting your the president's talking to you right. Now is a brilliant brother. Wa because I know I'm not listen to those who are I learned from them and I move forward. I watched you last night on sports. I heard these very points that you look at it. I knew that you were GonNa make the Ryan Clark with us so no this I also watch on. NFL Lot also listen to you when you on this show also listened to you when you show on my radio but somebody else's ready to chill and one of the things that I've noticed about you. Ryan is that you repeatedly point out how excuse me in the National Football League. It's about a win now. Leak and what are the things you highlight is. The fact that Carl Allen forget the fact that he doesn't measure up to camp if cam is one hundred two percent if they're flowing. You're absolutely right Cam Newton. We'll come back and get his job but will it keep it if he saw part anyway after the is he coming like okay. This is one of y'all can't count on the goals. They got Jacksonville. Oh next Tampa San Francisco last to be enrolled games if they went through straight and then all of a sudden five game winning streak can't might come back but if he goes back to complete fifty fifty six percent of his passes right right there right there cam when norv Turner got their cam started becoming more of the quarterback you want to see Steve so unless you think this is a former. MVP Number One player football team within spitting distance of winning a super bowl right right four years ago okay but last but last year before the injury. He was in many ways better than he'd ever been. So why are you just assuming that with North Turner still there his shoulder okay and his foot okay. He can't do what he was doing. I've never been a fan of Kim. New influ flu owing throwing the football. I think sometimes we forget because we've seen cam the last three years and we've seen him battle injuries that many of the rookie passing records that have had to be broken were. Cam Newton's record high Graham Newton was the guy that came into this league and started to where where we started to recognize rookies that can be pro bowlers rookies that could be franchised quarterbacks right away we can't forget and that was about his passing that was about his connection. Zim With Steve Smith who was a franchise wide receiver and the number one wide receiver at its sense and so having Cam Newton begging to this offense if he's healthy oh the and he looks the way he looked at the beginning of the season last year before starting to suffer these injuries you again realize how different this guy is is an. I don't disagree with Stephen if we can all change arguments and debates to win them in this has now become something about if Cam Newton doesn't play well as compared to what Allen has been doing and his team is not winning. Can he lose his job going forward. Yes that's different but as far as when he's healthy he's the quarterback correct the Carolina Panthers Molly. I just WANNA close this segment by saying you know I mean Swabia because I'm not I'm certainly not in in in Cam Newton class by any stretch imagination imagination maximally but when I had that shoulder injury because when I still got damn shoulder injury. I Recall Ryan Clark saying to me when you get older. It doesn't matter where you recover your older and as a result. You can't do the things that you used to have what you want. So what I'm saying is this if of Cam Newton and when he was a rookie this is nine years later after all of that punishment abso- who's to say even though he gets back to one hundred percent that it won't be quick before he's not one hundred percent because he can't take what he used to take. I'm just saying old age quoted age of the trysted Sir. I'm not trying to sit up there. Samsa Professional Athletes Ryan Clark brought in age and attrition and say hey what used to be no matter if you're one hundred percent talk told me Ryan Clark also brought the headphones from first class on American Airlines with them around the split that with those are Daniel Jones was dropping dimes again yesterday notching his first one at home and second straight forbid bogey threw two interceptions the aired out for two hundred twenty five yards and eighteen Stephen Smith saquon Barkley was not on the field. Please tell me just what grade do you give. Danny dimes his win in our nation's capital. I will tell you a Z..

"The rival bills in buffalo. Tom Brady's offense struggled but unfortunately he has the league's number or one defense to back him up joining us now. Is Maybe the best player on that defense cornerback Stefan Gilmore savant. Thank you so much for being with us this morning. Thank you for having all right congrats on the win and I want to start with yesterday's game. Obviously it was an off game for Tom but your defense comes up big again. Tell me this. How does it make you feel L. to pick up the offense when Tom's carried the load for so many years for crying out loud molly yes look at this thing think is Is A team thing you know. It's not just a offense defense thing. It's a team thing off as defense special teams so you know sometimes you gotTa pick pick each other up. It's not gonNA always be easy so that's how we think of the team molly. You're you're. You're Tom Brady worship out of control. How does it feel Tom. It's been so great all the time how you bring up a bad Gabe. This is what I WANNA know Stefan from you before. We even get to anything else. I hear Jalen Ramsey Z. Being called the best corner in football all the time. I think he's excellent. There's no doubt about it but in fact who is the best corner in football. I don't like to talk about myself I I like. I like the that that like you. You say on the best. I like to say that. I don't like to really talk about myself. I like to garden my business on the field and that's one thing I I've been. I like that as a kid and you know like bringing attention to myself. I like to handle business on the field and and play talking well. You are the best quarter in football right now. Say for the record when we when we look at I WANNA get in the youth for second. Only in this regard. Obviously you started your career out in buffalo breath but things really really took off. When you got to New England some would say five years reasons that you would have better team and obviously in the League coach but when you look at the New England patriots they talked about one time from where you know when you first arrived it seemed a bit complicated for you and then one game bill belichick simplify things and Ice Oh Ju- Mike Evans and from that point forward so it like I don't know if it was eighty four percent of the time a moving forward or whatever they put you in. ISOS obviously from that point forward you Sean. Could you talk talk about that a little bit what your careers like in New England and why does it appear to be so different than what it was like for you. When you were in Buffalo. That's one thing I played against the Patriots Allied and built a great coach t he knows how to use each and every player on the team and he put players players in the best position for them to succeed and I think you know me as a player. He knows what I'm good at and he'd know you know the the style. I like to play a lot of guys. You know trying to eliminate him for the game in that's why he's a great coach and his team right now. I'm not asking about the Patriots right now and the way they feel about it because I know the stock answer and the reason Belgium's so great. You guys are so great. Every year is next opponent owning next game. I'm talking about you as a player as a football fan when you survey the landscape you look at the NFL as the reigning and defending champions champions. Who Do you look at go them when the dust settles we probably going to have to face them. Who is that for you to be honest. We'd already look look at it like that. We just take it one day at a tile one game at a time. It's the national football league no you can't you can't sleep slip of up each and every week. We got the Redskins this week. They'll be ready. You know any given Sunday so we don't come out and put the work in and play hard art handy tool so that's how we think about things Stefan. Let me ask you this before the bills you guys face three teams that had yet to win a game. Pittsburgh Dolphins jets and it felt like there was a good shot. The bills could won that game. Obviously Josh Allen Goes Down with a concussion in. Tom Brady's not one hundred percent so tell me this. How concerned are you about Tom. I'm not concerned about timing. You know you take care of his body. he works hard. He's one of the best players to ever play in and his birthday every day and you know I'm just looking forward to this week and he'll come out practicing. You know do do normal normal long routine and gain a lot of us are talking about the New England patriots right now. You're number two against the PASH number two against your number one in points and yards allowed. This defense appears so elite that they're talking about. You guys it. Comparison is Chicago bears for example as the best defense in football. How do you feel how do you guys feel about your defense. This year compared to last year in the last three years. You have been to the Super Bowl. You want to what I think. We planned together the team you know. Irish getting there we plan tight coverage on the back end you know a lime records plan down hill and we you know we played each other. We play with each other for a couple of years now. So we kind of US see each other the same guys at a little bit more more guys us and fast and having fun and not sticking out tolling the war we plan aggressive and that's how it was playing good football you know on the other side of the ball it looked for a second like you guys were going to have the best receiving core maybe the Brady's ever had because not just Josh Gordon turn like starting to fulfill his promise but element and then you add a b. and then you blink and hurt and ABC's not there what was is it like adding a key for a game and then having them gone now you know he was a great player. You notice situation nation. It is what it is but you know he's a great player. Everybody know that and just hoping he's all right. He was a teammate live. Live is here but I just kind of let the you know guys up top handed and they make the best decision for the team so I just worry sorry about that all right. Thank you so much for being with us New England with the number one defense right now they will be at Washington next week. Appreciate your time. There's love but thank you. I take everybody coming to you. Live from behind can remember decare at pierce seventeen it was that that saints de that handed. Big D their first loss of the season last night in the big easy. Many of the cowboys struggled including their franchise quarterback. Dak finished twenty to thirty three two hundred twenty three yards but no touchdowns and many have said access is predicated on Zeke success and it's no coincidence that Zeke he couldn't get anything doing last night on that note we welcome in Ryan Clark. What's going on nothing much man just hanging out ready to listen to these these guys especially. Stephen they go hard on the Cowboy George. What the hell is that your weary which is that they'll be a velvet velvet bowtie stephen a fulltime it. Is it looked like you stolen animal erupted again. That's the the biggest bow tie. I'm actually I actually have a bigger one. That's leather. don't ever have a for one as well. What are you trying to tell US Ryan. I'm not so you guys anything. I'm just saying that you know if I was Megson Steven A. and after you finish the Bowtie and wind up a little higher you could make better the way that I do. I probably wouldn't do these things but once you can you can. I mean Sa- you beat it for you. The what you save big damn ten bottle who knows it. I don't know I guess we'll say he also won. They're wrong just they're all can be sent Ryan. I'm I'm not. I'm not going to throw stones. I've got a tiger shirt on big hoops and leather pants and like your molly you still considering considering Dallas and their quarterback are still not close when it comes to this contract extension. Stephen how much did the cowboys lost her Dak Prescott and his stock because they can hurt him a little bit only think it hurt him a little bit because I think Jerry Jones and Steven Jones falsely I might add are looking for an excuse to kind of low ball in to make sure that he doesn't set market and I don't think his case last night was helped. When Ezekiel Elliott failed to generate two yards per carries eighteen carries for thirty five yards awed.

"Too but i watched that because of the stars so you just mentioned the name that just got my attention like if somehow trevor lawrence aren't took a big contract to play in the x._f._l. In this coming spring i think people would pay attention to it but i don't know that trevor lawrence would take the money money to play in the x._f._l. I don't see that <hes> i don't either but but but i think i think aaron is right. Look i go back to the old old a._f._l. And the old a._f._l. American football only got it start because it engaged in a war with the n._f._l. Over these over these players here's coming out of college and pay them and i think as much as they like to acknowledge that they're not competing with the n._f._l. At some point they're gonna have to if they want to succeed and that includes players well. The opportunity for trevor lawrence is that he's not eligible for the n._f._l. Draft next spring so that would be you know you're talking about you know potentially these star in college football this year with by the way a ton a shitload of charisma and and the whole thing of the aura around trevor lawrence right now in clemson but him in particular <hes> would be a huge boon to that league as was nemeth amos to the a._f._l. Right tommy yes yes. I mean they don't want it. Name does the a._f._l. Ever survived now now now no no they don't without the jets and sunny warbling who took over two jets that become owner and then going out to sign name it the first four hundred thousand dollar quarterback quarterback. I'm sure they do yeah. I agree with that all right. You got anything else. That's it boss all right. Look forward to watch any action tonight. There's a lot of action. I will have <hes> i will have multiple screens going with sure zor and and with the n._f._l. Game at least we get to see the first few innings before the re. The redskins game kicks off but god do. I hate preseason football. I my only hope tonight is that we see twain haskins in meaningful portions of the game which you know after talking to kind this morning. It sounds like there's more of a chance that we won't then. We will <hes> all right again. You'll better your back on radio with nick. Ask you this weekend on j._f._k. So tune in for that <hes> tommy back on radio. I will be in tomorrow morning warning obviously on a nine eighty seven to ten a._m. With post game stuff and then back here we'll do a podcast <hes> afterwards aaron and i will <hes> i'm without tommy to recap the game from last night are from tonight. I'm sorry as well have a great day..

"Maybe they're the ones that are going to fold but right now. In the short term they may have have the best opportunity to really gain some ground with their schedule that the mets stories incredible because at the trade deadline when they traded for stroman and nobody thought it was for this year or that he was even going to be kept and i turned out is a team. That's hot as any team in baseball over the last you going back to i really i think it was in mid july. They started this run. They were they were twelve eleven or twelve games below five five hundred and they're something like twenty five and nine cents <hes> so they might even be better than that <hes> but they've got great right starting pitching the mets do yeah but he the phillies don't yet right the phillies don't now they've lost sake arrietta <hes> they just don't have the horses for august and september some cool games coming up though in the national league east division hasn't been this in a long time. You got four teams chasing thing you know postseason whether it's the division or <hes> the wildcard and really fulfilling new york being nine back. It's more about the wildcard spot with the nats. Nats are still in that division race with seven games against the braves and sex yeah. He's back at this point at blue. You don't wanna concede that no one game wildcard all car playoff would be exciting but who needs the extra nothing at you'd much rather win the division and by the way win in the division and potentially potentially end up with home home field advantage in that first friend hasn't helped them in their other four playoff appearances knowing that they could still end up finishing initiative with the second best record in the national league behind the dodgers who are lock to end up with the best record and home field advantage throughout whatever that's worth <hes>..

"Conservative offense was special teams helping to give them helping the company gets good field position for them and if they don't have good special teams. It really doesn't matter how good their defense. It'll get swallowed up first of all you're. You're never going to be able to prove that it was the pre season with players that didn't play in the regular season. That was the reason in the indication that they were going to be bad on special teams. All i'm saying is i have no idea what they're going to be on special teams and i would never base it on what i saw in the second preseason game with a bunch of players who either won't be on the roster or certainly won't be a part of their special teams unit in philadelphia in the opener. That's my only point so that's why i asked of it. Well duffin hopkins be on the roster. He will if you wanna talk about punters and kickers. That's different. Obviously they're going to be there but coverage leveraged gave up a second punt return for touchdown last week. Which was the big you know concern and i'm like well. Whoever's running down on punts in the philadelphia game wasn't running down on that pun or the one in the cleveland game in the second preseason game but the new same coach's coaching them yeah nate keizer yeah okay so maybe okay so say say that you're concerned about the coach not the players who are on the field during those punt returns and then i won't dismiss it. You know i like it when you dismiss it wrong. I don't know if the special teams are going to be good or bad. I'll tell what's interesting and i mentioned this on the radio show this morning. They never bring in bringing competition for dustin hopkins no competition for them. You know a lot of teams bringing competition for the kickers. Now hopkins has been more good than bad since he's the the kicker but he he was as responsible for them not making the playoffs in two thousand sixteen as the defense was. I mean a defense awful one of the worst in n._f._l. History but the kicking missed in cincinnati in london against cincinnati to see the two field goals he missed on thanksgiving day against the cowboys my boy oh who has just a delusional liuzhou memory of some of this shit texted me the other day he one of those kicks from forty five yards out a forty five yard field goal indoors aaron right now is what a ninety percent probability in the n._f._l. Indoors close to that pretty much <hes> that field goal know who can make that harley. We looked at a fifty five yard. She can't <hes> but they've had one of the better punters in the league here entrust way i mean that every time he kicks it. There's a chance it's going sixty five yards in the air <hes> but i wanted to most valuable player you know they drafted terry terry maclaurin in part because they thought he was going to be a great special teamer. Iffy ends up being a starting wide receivers probably going to play a lot less on special teams but <hes> anyway <hes> let me do a quick read for stamps dot com and then we'll get to some some nats a conversation kosher..

"It's a long dress would require team of researchers in in order to figure out exactly what i was most right about. You know that wasn't alzheimer. That was an alzheimer tommy before the new orleans opener turned twenty twelve said ladies and gentlemen expect shock and awe number ten robert griffin the third. He's he's going to be lights out great in this opener and in this season and you and we had no idea going into the opener what it would be what you did not know is how he was is going to play but you did predict predict shock and awe. I'm talking about the style of play to the pistol zone read and all of this but i knew that i knew that <hes> veterans on that team were more excited about him than any rookie i ever saw in the training camp and that was my signal that stuff that they were seeing something that <hes> that was different they were see i know that was they were seeing the creation asian of mike and kyle for the most part with an incredible talent grunting bat style of offense but god that was crazy in that opener forty two thirty eighty two in new orleans against the saints. Who were i think nine point favorites go back and looked at darn. See if i'm right about that they were more than touchdown underdogs your dogs and that opener against the saints you can find that uncovers dot com. If you go back all right <hes> tonight <hes> there couple just served a couple of quick thoughts on what you wanna see. I'll go first. I wanna see the first team defense against atlanta's first team offense. I think what we're seeing defensive. Elise potentially more athleticism more team speed more.

"I'm all for being patient okay if he's not if if it's not close and he's not ready and colt mccoy is nowhere near able to even be backup. Do they need another quarterback. You can still put up backup if if keenum gets hurt and you've got to put them out there with a truly protected simplified simplified game plan. You can do that. Come on i he. I don't see by the way him being so far removed from playing being in an n._f._l. Game i believe time in his in his thoughts talking to gruden and everybody that they don't think he's anywhere near ready and that's fine but we haven't seen a guy that scared that skittish that looks like he can't do it like he can't go in there and hand off or throw quick bubble scream he could do that three three you know ten times a game if required and so you don't think he's got a little john belk enema no. I don't think he's got any john on beckenham. John belk needed five pairs underwear before he went out in a regular season game. He was so frightened and terrified no askins. I think i'm doing a worst case scenario situation but i think i think it's the worst case scenario that could easily happen and and i just don't think you want to be forced to play. This kid at quarterback before you think he's ready. In other words. He needs to be third quarterback back. The third quarterback going into the season and if cole mccoy is not your second. You need another quarterback okay well. That would really if you think about this. Okay think about think about in the next few days. Colt mccoy is just unhealthy they throw them on i r popper whatever or or or they released him or whatever and now they go out and sign who who are the veteran quarterbacks that are available like right now. All are there any veteran quarterbacks that haven't signed. You know like wh where's jake locker. These days like who's out there right now. You know where's where's tyrod. Taylor is he on a roster josh josh mccown. I think aaron just got picked up by. Somebody who lost a quarterback didn't he. Yes he ah yes. He did the jets. I want to say no the eagles the eagles by the way tommy imagine this imagine they signed trevor simian if he hasn't signed with anybody brock osweiler if he hasn't signed with anybody imagine the colin kaepernick discussion. Why didn't you sign up for nick. They don't need any of that. If cold can't go oh dwayne haskins is the backup and they're going with two quarterbacks okay. I think that would be crazy reaction to that to them. Signing well they do actually have a quarterback on the roster the guy clendenin or whatever his name is yeah yeah and knuckleheads. There's always mark sanchez. They can put a jury in alex smith and have the emergency quarterback. Did you see alex smith long long before cole. Mccoy is walking around with one of those medieval type things on his legs. You don't believe that we love cole. Don't and we like alex too. I wanna both to be healthy but look to me. I'm not a huge keenum fan. I am a bigger keenum fan than i am. A mccoy fan <hes> <hes> they're both dead ends the sooner you can get this guy ready to go in and be as you know is competent is either one of them the better for this franchise moon forward. I did the you know the go ahead the funny part. Though is the sooner you you do that and i think this is the way you're thinking the sooner you know whether he can play quarterback or not the sooner you can move on from him and draft another quarterback next year. That's part of it. That is now now. I i don't know how much look it would have to be really disastrous right. You know he'd have to start it would ten plus games in appear to not have any chance of developing into a guy and i doubt we're going to get that with him. First of all everything we're hearing and i know we heard this about r._g..

"Tell me a couple of things here first of all we do know based on earlier reporting j._p. Finley was one who reported that the patriots in two other a._f._c. teams inquired about trent williams so i think the news here and maybe somebody else somebody else's had this but i think the news is that they were willing to give up the first and it wasn't enough for the redskins but but <hes> i want the redskins to trade trent williams but i also want them to be patient enough to wait for something more more than new england's. I i know i've been in the minority on this. Joke is man made fun of me for this said i was delusional with respect to getting maybe a i plus plus but this is the weekend in particular where the starters play they play more time increasing the risk of more you know frontline starters starters going down and i think if they're patient. Somebody's gonna come up with more than that. I'm just glad to know that there is a price they will accept to move on from that firm position that stubborn position. Which is we hate the way he's portrayed this but at some point it is sort of let's move on and try to get as much as we can get for a player who by the way has more value on the trade market than any other player. We probably have yeah. I saw uh-huh acknowledged. There's gotta be some deep resentment inside the building. I think so <hes> for the way the way this has unfolded whether trent williams's is telling the truth they're not <hes> but that shouldn't stop them from eventually making the best move for the organization and that's the trade him now i agree. I agree with you. I think they can get more and but i don't profess to know anything about how the patriots operate than anyone else does. Who's listening. I just don't see the patriots grease. That's the team to say okay. We'll give you this and this. I see the patriots as a team that that makes their offer and then moves on great point in in fact you know the reports at the patriots were interested. I believe j._p. Had one of them and then the reports that followed <hes> you know that that suggests that they weren't interested all of that make sense with them willing to offer the first and the redskins saying no. It's going to take more so they were interested rested at first but they're not interested anymore. They've got to pay more is essentially away. I i would extrapolate what i learned last night in in terms of the reporting warning about the patriots but anyway you know he's not he's not coming back you. I'm with you a hundred percent on this. I think the longer they wait <hes> the more desperate things get. I think they can get a better deal from somebody. I think you have to you. You can't jump and like you said that's the second round pick <hes> from the patriots and i think they can do better than that. I think they can do a team. That has a lower first round. Pick tech plus. Maybe get a fourth out of it to at least two draft picks out of. I think that's possible as well all right so i think they should wait all right. Let's move on to the game tonight. This time was on with me on the radio show this morning and he essentially basically you know discounted any conversation sation that includes dwayne haskins starting on opening day against the eagles he said right now it's case keenum's job and that the only alternative the dave case keenum for the opener against philadelphia would be a healthy colt mccoy in fact i said so your odds would be keenum as the favourite mccoy he's the second favourite and then haskins is a long shot. He said exactly he essentially said they just don't believe the organization as an organization which would include snyder bruce doug and the football people <hes> that they just don't believe he's ready <hes> t to play klay philadelphia and ready for really the earlier portion of the schedule. If that's true tonight keenum's should start keenum..

"Does anybody doing that one today yes yes so he got old overnight last night he went the mbb candidate to finger slipping off the edge of the cliff in one night well why do you want to do the topic let's start with brady okay no problem but the theme ryan that you'll hinting at is the same as the patriots in general or tom brady in particular its how can we overreact to a sample size of one game how can we reevaluate everything that we know even after we've been warned how can we make the same mistake again the warning when it comes to the pats is we were granted a four game sample size the beginning of the season that the pats defense is horrendous the worst it was the worst in the nfl about a month in the season and it was true bill but it was carried over to is a fatal flaw in can't be fixed it was i think it was okay at the time you look at the personnel and you go it's that front really good enough can they be an average defense because even last year when they were number one in points it was weird it felt weird it felt like they want a dominant defense and yet i looked at a going into last night they were fourth and scoring defense now 'nother fifth and scoring defense and yes the personnel along that front is not impressive new flowers is out you're like okay who were the dusit i'm even afraid of uh and and cutler look good against him last night but wouldn't it be stupid when we just did this a couple of months ago i give you are off the pats whose you go you know that defense it can't be fixed they fixed it they just they're giving you evidence of the thing you're thinking about doing by getting off new england this season we're not even talking about past seasons this season they already wet from this awful awful defense to writing the ship for two months to a bad performance last night and yardage wise they're still terrible but there are again their fifth than scoring defense so 2019 yardage gather there one of yet again for worse teams right but fifth in points allowed that's a pretty wide gap and the site on is the.
