All right, see, and poll question that we're going to go with is we're going to get the audience see if they think John smoltz likes the rule changes or hates the rule changes. Right now, 54% say he hates the rule changes. There's a little bit of a perception that they benefit the offense. At least that's the way I'm reading it, right? Well, it seems like that. So far, if runs are up and batting averages are up. And just like the thing you said with Aaron judge, he's like, oh no, I like it because I don't think about the pitch more. Well, that would be a disadvantage to the pitcher then, right? But then I thought yesterday we were talking about this that the benefit would be for the pitcher because they can dictate the tempo of the game. Since they have longer to be able to throw the pitch, then the hitter to get into the batter's box, the pitcher can make that hitter weight if he wants to. But we'll talk to John smoltz about it. Fritzi is now sending me bad walk up songs. You're no good by Linda Ronstadt. You want to go up to that, you're no good. How about loser buy back? That'd be terrible. Yeah. Any other songs in their time? Came across a song called unathletic me by a Julie Wilson. I wasn't familiar with that, but that came up in a search and pressure. Billy Joel, you don't want to admit that you're nervous getting into the batter's bones. Okay. Just some suggestions. A few thoughts of what you don't want to pick going up to the batteries. Bad, bad walk up songs. Now we'll be inundated with bad walk up songs. Probably. Thank you. You're welcome. All righty. Maybe the audience should pick walk up songs for us. I was sort of in that vein of, okay? That match each guy's best sort of match our personalities. But in that vein could be Carly Simon, you're so vain. It could be. Who? You? You? Me? We're doing that Spider-Man meme right now. Me, you, you, Paul. I hate that curly swim and so on. You're so vain. Yeah, because the song was about him. You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you, but it was about him. So how does that mean? You're just playing some of those weird mind games. No, but she's saying that without your name being named in the song, when you heard the song, you said, ah, this is about me, without knowing it's about you. Yeah, but it was about them. Yeah. But he didn't know that before, said song was released. It was about them. You probably think this song is about you. No, I know this song is about. The Warren Beatty Noah went before the song came out. There was a song coming out about him. You know who else thought that was about Carly Simon 'cause you wrote it about him. It's deliberately about that one person. But if you listen to that song in the chorus, you can hear Mick Jagger. Don't know if you know this or not. But Jagger sang backup vocals. Now he probably had a different motive for helping Carly Simon sing that song, probably trying to hook up with her. But you can hear him when she says, you're so vain, you hear Jagger going, you're so vain. And so it's kind of stands out there. But Jagger's vain. Saw

So I'm going to brag about my daughter who's at Stanford and I got to sign it Lola marmot. So I'm almost out of Woods with one. And so I'm going to be enjoying life once my daughter gets out of school. Yeah, what Stanford sets you back? I want to say, I think my wife does all the billing. I think it's 70 K I think that's, I think that's the low number probably, right? You better win the World Series, Dave. Don't try to sell it back. "Lamar. Wink wink? I don't know. I don't think anybody knows what's happening with Lamar Jackson. It just feels like they're going to franchise him. And then you got conflicting reports that, hey, he's not asking for Deshawn Watson deal. Well, a, I don't believe that, because if I'm Lamar Jackson, that's where I start my demand is deshaun Watson's deal. Like what's deshaun Watson done? Look at what I've done. Deshawn done have an MVP. But guaranteed money. And Lamar doesn't have anywhere near the baggage, deshaun Watson. You have to look at it from Lamar's perspective. Like, okay, next guy up. Okay, well, now we compare next guy up to deshaun Watson. Not mahomes. Deshaun Watson, you want guaranteed. I mean, Kyler Murray got paid. Granted, the Cardinals caved in, but and it just feels odd with Baltimore and I've said that for now two years. Just feels odd. Let's see. Patrick and California, hi, Patrick. Hey, good morning, Dan. 5 8 one 68. All right. All right, so I coached baseball here in Southern California for some time in Orange County. And first off, as you know, it's a hotbed of talent. There's a lot of good public and private school players. But when you look at the local press, LA times Orange County register even out in riverside. Ronnie's not getting the headlines. Actually, one of his teammates is by the last name that Bailey is getting more of the hype. So I've had friends that are even referees that have gone to those games and left those games and fans are there to see LeBron and not brawny, which I think is unfair to him. I think you guys said it on the nail that if he goes and plays, say, at a D one for year or two and really learn to play against men, then that transition may be the MBA will be better. And watching the mellow brothers or the ball brothers, they were head and shoulders above talent wise been brought in right now. Yeah, I mean, I thought lamelo was even as a freshman. I could see the potential there. He was undisciplined. They took wild shots, and it was a strange style that they had. But even Angelo was a really good shooter. Haven't heard from the dad in a while. It's probably a good thing. Let's get him on. No, no, no. Okay, sorry. And then she said yes to the request. We never had him on. Dave Roberts, the Dodgers manager. He's going to join us next. He got a prediction for this year. The Popeye's big box is back, y'all. It's available for pickup, but I should warn you. This isn't something you're gonna want to pick up with one hand. This big box comes with your choice of two pieces of signature chicken or three tenders with two regular sides and a biscuit. So use two hands and lift with your legs because the big box is big. And it just $7, it's a big deal. "For the long holiday weekend. What's left of the people's convoy now known as 1776 restoration movement could be trying to stir up trouble on the 4th of July and D.C.. Our Dimitri soda spoke with Daily Beast reporter Zack patrizio about that possibility. Most people are thinking about ribs or wings or barbecue. For the people's convoy, they're thinking about how they could possibly quote unquote invade Washington D.C.. And while this group might be rather small, anywhere between 30 to 50 Mac 70 individuals, these people, as we've seen them kind of travel across the country, do have guns. Right now they're in bunker hill, West Virginia. But of course, today, commuted into the Northern Virginia area, they're riding around Tyson's corner, for example, out by the mall. Some of them were convinced they saw members of the anti fascist antifa movement. Of course, on the 4th of July, they intend to roll into D.C. and cause mayhem. As of now, I don't know how successful that's going to be just due to the amount of traffic. So they might be able to get around D.C., potentially they could be walking around on the mall past these fireworks or playing out. But a lot of details still have to be ironed out like where they park and things of that nature. People's convoy, which is the old name, of course, was a group of truckers you could see them from a mile away because it was a big line of trucks. Are you saying now that some of the same membership is just driving around in smaller cars or even just walking around? Yeah, exactly, right. So the name is gone with the failure. And they've tried to rebrand themselves as this new group called 1776 restoration movement, which is led by this gentleman by the name of Santa, who has this big white beard. And he's a member of the Proud Boys. So it's not as big and it's not as mainstream, if you will. They're far right elements and hate groups that are mixed in with this quote unquote convoy. But they're riding around in things like an old fire truck, an old ambulance, a smaller cars. I think they have a couple bob tails, which is just the front part of the trucks out there. They're mixing it up with traffic, if you will. In terms of looking people off and getting upset and road rage. But they're not going to disguise themselves with an average traffic. What are our local authorities saying about all of this in terms of protecting the public making sure we do have a peaceful and shall we say relatively quiet 4th of July except for the noise that the fireworks make. Metropolitan Police department has repeatedly told The Daily Beast that they're aware of them and tracking them. And I've had conversations as I cover protests have the Supreme Court with police officers with metro PD officials and captains. And they've told me repeatedly that they're watching this group. That's Daily Beast reporter Zack Patricio on Skype, which exports next. It's three 13. The following is a paid commercial message. This

"The WTO p.m. This is WTO P news Good morning welcome and it's 1241 on WTO P Now here on WTO P a follow-up to a story we first brought you earlier this week That group led by truckers known as the people's convoy has been leaving our area to make a cross country trip back to California out west apparently in an effort to protest a batch of COVID related bills there Their base camp was the Hagerstown Maryland speedway you'll remember where some die hard members of this convoy were apparently dismayed to see their de facto leaders fly home There's also confusion this morning among convoy participants about whether or not they'll get a piece of the $2 million raised to cover their fuel and food cost Daily Beast reporter Zachary Patricio let's try that again Zachary patrizio what he learned hanging out with the truckers in Hagerstown recently and even trying to we hear follow them on the beltway It is old slow car You have people that kind of believe that the 2020 election was rigged You have of course Trump supporters You have QAnon supporters But then perhaps you also have some more just some average truckers that roped into this by fellow truckers like a lot of truck company owners We're out at Hagerstown and a lot of other people So it was kind of like a hodgepodge of a lot of different people a lot of different stripes And that seemingly at least when The Daily Beast was out there you got the feeling that it very much was this Trump rally esque energy out there As you saw the flags waving and the phrases being chanted You mentioned driving an older car trying to keep up with these big trucks You're following these guys around you're in the heart of it in Hagerstown lessons learned This could possibly show some signs about Trump world heading into 2022 And there's a lot of energy right And I think a lot of these people are die hard Trump supporters And at the end of the day when we went out the Hagerstown and when we were circling the beltway one of the things was clear was like we miss Trump and there's a great extent to that message and a great enthusiasm about rebirth the Trump A lot of them were supporters of people like my pillow CEO Mike lindell or believers in the QAnon conspiracy theory So they're really die hard and they're willing to go to whatever extent possible to ensure that Donald Trump has put back into the office And furthermore they're willing to give up whatever they have I'd spoken with one person They were giving up their home When we're going to live out of their car for the remainder period of however long this might go Was there an economic message I bring it up only because to take time off from your job to join a convoy like this and hang around with like minded people means maybe you've got some money or maybe you don't have a haul to pick up somewhere I know I spoke with one gentleman from buffalo He had brought 5 of his trucks in a company of ten trucks He was an owner operator type of thing So there definitely was a sense of a lot of these truck drivers being a lot better off than perhaps your average truck driver But at the same time I think they're also was a pretty big reliance from many of these people in the convoy that they were ultimately going to get reimbursed in some sense of the fashion perhaps during the convoy or perhaps when this is all done And a lot of those people out there were kind of banking on financial reimbursements because this was a financial sacrifice for some of them I know the convoy has raised $2 million as we reported at the beast but it remains to be seeing how that's distributed and how these claims of corruption quote unquote pan out over the next couple of weeks as they head to California Daily Beast reporter is Zachary Patricio on Skype with our Dmitri soldiers and he says those truckers well they could be back here in about three weeks or so One more reason to keep your dial right where it is They're about this spring You're listening to 103.5 FM at WTO P dot com.

"Your free estimate today It's 1112 Now a follow-up to a story we first brought you earlier this week The group led by truckers known as the people's convoy has been leaving our area to make a cross country trip back to California in an effort to protest a batch of COVID-19 related bills there Their base camp was the Hagerstown Maryland speedway where some die hard members of this convoy were dismayed to see their de facto leaders fly home There's also confusion among convoy participants about whether they'll get a piece of the $2 million that was raised to cover their fuel and food costs Dmitri sodas asked Daily Beast reporter Zachary patrizio what he learned hanging out with those truckers in Hagerstown in recent weeks Even trying to follow them on the beltway in his old slow car You have people that kind of believe that the 2020 election was rigged You have of course Trump supporters You have QAnon supporters But then perhaps you also have some more just some average truckers that were roped into this by fellow truckers like a lot of truck company owners were out at Hagerstown and a lot of other people So it was kind of like a hodgepodge of a lot of different people a lot of different stripes And that seemingly at least when The Daily Beast was out there you got the feeling that it very much was this Trump rally esque energy out there As you saw the flags waving and the phrases being chanted Do you mention your driving an older car trying to keep up with these big trucks You're following these guys around you're in the heart of it in Hagerstown lessons learned This could possibly show some signs about Trump world heading into 2022 And there's a lot of energy right And I think a lot of these people are die hard Trump supporters And at the end of the day when we went out the Hagerstown and when we were circling the beltway one of the things was clear was like we miss Trump and there's a great extent to that message and a great enthusiasm about rebirth the Trump A lot of them were supporters of people like my pillow CEO Mike lindell or believers in the QAnon conspiracy theory So they're really die hard and they're willing to go to whatever extent possible to ensure that Donald Trump has put back into the office And furthermore they're willing to give up whatever they have I'd spoken with one person They were giving up their home When we're going to live out of their car for the remainder of a period of however long this might go Was there an economic message I bring it up only because to take time off from your job to join a convoy like this and hang around with like minded people means maybe you've got some money or maybe you don't have a haul to pick up somewhere I know I spoke with one gentleman from buffalo He had brought 5 of his trucks in a company of ten trucks He was an owner operator type of thing So there definitely was a sense of a lot of these truck drivers being a lot better off than perhaps your average truck driver But at the same time I think they're also was a pretty big reliance from many of these people in the convoy that they were ultimately going to get reimbursed in some sense of the fashion perhaps during the convoy or perhaps when this is all done And a lot of those people out there were kind of banking on financial reimbursements because this was a financial sacrifice for some of them I know the convoy has raised $2 million as we reported at the beast but it remains to be seeing how that's distributed and how these claims of corruption quote unquote pan out over the next couple of weeks as they head to California That is Daily Beast reporter Zachary patrizio on Skype He says the truckers could be back here in three weeks or so it's.

"This morning you can start talking about that trucker convoy in the past tense Those truckers and others you see are headed west to California this week to protest health bills proposed there This group has been camped out that the Hagerstown speedway since March 4th They drove around the beltway at first then began heading onto the freeway where they created major delay Stacy police closed exits as the trucks moved through In some cases they even moved to other D.C. streets The movement was inspired by the truckers in Canada you'll remember who blocked traffic for a time on bridges the protest vaccine requirements The group was made up of people protesting COVID mandates that have now largely been lifted but also included conspiracy theorists QAnon followers and Trump supporters This morning we're joined by Daily Beast reporter Zachary patrizio Who has actually been closely following this truck convoy including the trips to the Hagerstown speedway to meet with some of the members who were staying there Starting on Thursday you know they're kind of officially heading heading west This convoy of course has been in the D.C. metro causing quite a stir in the city as they roll through the beltway almost every day over the past three weeks and causing headaches for commuters as Metropolitan Police has shut down exit ramps I met their protests in loud honking What did they accomplish Great question I don't know if they exactly accomplished anything to be quite Frank The one thing they seemingly did accomplish was kind of irritating D.C. residents and injuring D.C. residents I know one of their goals was to meet with both Democrat and Republican legislators I think they ended up meeting with only a couple Republican legislators including senator Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson from Wisconsin of course So perhaps they achieved something little there but in terms of their overall goal of trying to end the emergency powers act that didn't occur And instead at least two individuals two D.C. residents have been injured one lady of course struck in the ankle She claims that the convoy car that hit her broke two bones And then of course a biker who was kind of beaten down after they stole his Vikings Did they also accomplish the task of telling the nation's capital We are here Yeah absolutely I mean they were here in the sense of they were on the beltway right I will say perhaps it accomplished their goal of trying to get a few headlines But at the end of the day I think they now have more problems on their hands They are leaving Thursday but back at base camp so to speak for the time being out in Hagerstown they have their own convoy members Now extremely upset with leadership because Brian braze the main leader kind of fled from Hagerstown to go back home to northwest Ohio And they're also dealing with claims from their own convoy members regarding the organization the people's convoy being corrupted quote unquote In terms of not paying out for things.

"This. And why does everyone went to this last night but we did last night lady gaga and there is some trouble looming between gaga and an patrizio rajon. Oh eighty that guy got placed in her new movie house of gucci because patrizio is really annoyed that gaga. Did the film without meeting her. First now got told british vogue out friday. She could only do the part justice if she approached it as a journalist. She says nobody was going to tell me who patrizio gucci was not even patrizio gucci. That quote is ball's out balls. Like i listen. I had mixed feelings when i heard about this yesterday. I on one level. It's like it's not mandatory right like they are working with trying to like do. This film film is a film. If somebody wants to play you they don't necessarily need to like kiss the ring Obviously if the person is involved in the film and they are around and they are on set and they wanna do them justice. That's different it didn't feel like this. Was the vibe for this movie. So i mean you've been in movies. I think it depends on the actor and they have their own way of researching and getting ready for a role. And i think that she is very very serious about her acting and this is the way she wanted to do it. And i'm i also. I have to be honest. I i felt like what does she was just scared to meet her. Until after the do the film was done and well received. I think. I think there was fear behind it. Honestly i also think that this woman. She's a smart woman and she's a great actress and this is her method. This was clearly method acting. She talked about choice. It was definitely choice. And i and i could see both sides. I will say this though when you watch american crime story. Yeah the monica lewinsky bill. I'm caught a watch. Your whole thing you.

"British steel has a more modern. Sound where. I can begin listening to the album. So so the point there was a little bit of the point of Did i pick a song that anyways. The idea is bluntly It's pretty it's pretty objectively easier to like firepower than it is to like stained class yet. Most fans Until they start the old one start dying off. Most fans are going to say stained classes the classic right not firepower reliable rights. I love the idea of punk. As the abstract art version of music that section the episode was probably the one that most resonated. I was just a hair too young to listen to pumpkin pie. Try to listen to it now. It just makes me wonder what people saw in it back in the day. Exactly exactly read. That's the point of that episode. And this one. I intend to thoroughly explore post-punk. Someday maybe after that a work my way back to actual punk. Oh and thanks for the name check so there you go Let's leave it at that. "But i'm also against unnecessary weight cutting. So if he's felt feels he's proven everything he's had two at one forty five and he has beaten many of the top featherweights. I have no problem with them. Not defending it I'm pretty critical of guys out. Defending of course conor mcgregor having to belts never defended it. That's something that's never sat well with me and a large portion of the fans so that's certainly would ding asia mckee's reputation to some But i think he's. I think he's right. I think one five probably better for him. If he doesn't need to drain himself why should he And i would love to see a tournament. I would love to see another tournament not sixteen man so not quite as long as the federal tournament. You go eight men so three and guarantee yourself at least three more. aj mckee feis believed the understanding. Is that With the champions by by by becoming champion he he owes belt or three fights either. Whether they'd wanna keep around they wanna keep them books and it's going to be five. You do the tournament you throw patricia. Pit bull and there as well. So you're kind of rolling the dice that you end up with a rematch. You want But if you don't get it hopefully it's mckee at least mckee makes it to the final and gets a you know it's kinda cements himself as the And faces whoever it is that takes the bill from pitt bull during the tournament. That's how about so. I love the idea of a tournament I'm a little bit cooler on an immediate rematch. I could see happening. It makes sense but for me if he said if i was in charge eight man tournament mckee and people again and cross our fingers that have been. I mean that makes so much sense but for me like i wanna see you want to see the next grand prix at one thirty five. But that's just may being selfish and you know thinking about what i would want but spencer. What do you think happens like do you grew. They like next grand prix. The jump right into it at one fifty five mckee pit bull right back into another ground pre or do you think they go a different direction with these guys. No i think you do the rematch at fifty five. Do it four to six months down the line you build to it you make it the headlining event of a headlining fight of a really big card. You build you build your own momentum to this you get some other title fights on their you close out the year in style with this fight that we all wanna see upa division we get the rematch but it's also a different championship. Fight and part of that is just. What else is there at lightweight right now. What's the appeal of patrizio. Pit bull fighting sydney outlaw. After he's coming off this fight against a jay mckee where everybody comes away from it wanting to see that rematch to put these two separate these guys even for one fight is crazy so to put a grand prix between them to me is is just wild thinking because it just stretches things out and as aka said you. Maybe don't end up with the fight that you want. Which then i mean that a very delatour thing to do. But don't you want everybody wants this fight and you're gonna maybe stick eighteen months in between where it's still a crap shoot and and you got to hope everything breaks right again like adjusted this time like we saw the best case scenario. The chances of best-case scenario happening again in another grand prix and in pre ware. Delatour doesn't have the kind of names that are really going to be super compelling like sure i would watch. Aj mckee against some of these veteran guys that they have in that division. But as it as interesting to me as as a rematch. Fifty five against pitt bull. Absolutely not to give me that fight but give me some time to build to it. Other big fights on that card have a year end. Blowout whether you do that in partnership with reisen and just have a monster show or you do it on your own and just build to some of these other championship fights. Think you have to run this back because it's the one fight again. The belly tor has that everyone is interested in. And so you can't just you can't take the risk that you don't get it somewhere down the line. You don't wanna see islam mamedov. Just knock out mckee like in the second round and just like ruined the whole thing. I didn't have. I mean i love chaos and from a leg. Just pure wildness the ridiculousness of ballatore sure. But if your ballot or you are you're driving forward. You're protecting these dudes in bubble. Wrap driving them to and from everything they do. It like a guarded transport system to get them to a rematch for the fifty. Five belt somewhere later this year in ak. Let's just throw this out there. Islam mamedov is not knocking anybody out. He's just taking down and laying on you for fifteen minutes and then getting a decision. He didn't deserve knocking off. I said knocking.

"And it changed practically over the course of a few months. Women told by the government get out of the way become the happy housewife and it's going to be to just grin and bear it and i'm really not exaggerating to me. Kate is written at that moment. And at the center of something. I was never. In shakespeare's taming the shrew being spanked on stage and spanking a woman is not only domestic violence but it turns into a child in a very explicit way. It was on all the posters and it was in the new york times when they reviewed it. That's the image from this. Play that stock now. There is a warren couple. Saying the two leads kate. In shakespeare's play she's too much of a shrew for anyone actually wanna marry so she's auctioned opt this guy passing through named patrizio. The backstage story seems to follow similarly at least the woman decides it is the better part of valour to simply bow to her husband's will wink wink nod. Or maybe not utilitarian. Interesting story about cole. Porter who found himself with an almost intractable conundrum too great collaborative geniuses behind this musical one is bella. Spe- whack one of two women. Writing broadway plays at this time. And the other is the great lyricist cole. Porter this a hard story to tell french stage you have this re staging of shakespeare's taming..

There's a fair amount of hanky-panky and shakespeare's plays crossdressing. Animal attraction of sex. Maybe romeo and juliet. There's passionate but platonic same sex love and his day. Same sex sex was a capital offense. The sexuality of shakespeare himself is a matter of speculation. there's plenty of sexual politics in his place. Though we see women sometimes defending sometimes demeaning themselves. We see men sometimes punished for their greed. Vanity or cruelty sometimes not in the taming of the shrew fortune. Hunting patrizio is prone to all three yet. He succeeds in starving and bullying unwilling ill-tempered. Kate into apparent submission in the musical. Takeoff kiss me. Kate to divorced actors find themselves playing kate and patrizio once again. The rascal has his way. Onstage and backstage change shapiro is one of our leading bards of the bard slit.
