Bishop E.W. Jackson Reflects on America's Greatness

"Bishop E .W. Jackson, the brand new book, Sweet Land of Liberty, Reflections of a Patriot Descended from Slave. So we were just talking about, you know, what you said, that how you got here, how your people got here through the slave trade, something that anybody with a brain knows is a satanic abomination, a wicked thing. But in the scripture, you know, in the story of Joseph, what man intended for evil, God intended for good. Now, if you don't understand God, it's impossible to get that. And I understand there's some people that they just get angry. But you were just talking about the fact that however you got here, you're in America and you're grateful to be in America because there is no country like America that has overcome so many of its own sins and things and continues to try to get it right. Just that idea is, is extraordinary. And when people try to kick that to the curb, you're thinking, wait a minute, no, no, no, no, no, no. Historically, this is a big deal. You got to acknowledge it. And the Judeo -Christian roots and foundations of our country have made us the most charitable nation that's ever existed, have made us the nation that's proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world more than any nation that's ever existed. You know, we've got so much to celebrate. And I say people ought to be obsessing about what God wants to do through you in a great country like this of such opportunity, rather than what you perceive others have done to you, real or imagined. And, you know, this is the other thing. I mean, not to put too fine a point on it, I was never a slave. You were never a slave master. And this idea of bringing the past into the present and trying to make us all relate to each other on the basis of institutions that ended 150 years ago, I think is really self -destructive. Well, look, it gets so crazy, right? Because my father grew up in Greece. The Greeks were enslaved by the Ottoman Turks for centuries.

"Man from Virginia who testified he had fun at the US Capitol during the Capitol riot is going to serve six years in prison for attacking police that day as he stormed the building. Now we're talking about Marcus Malley, and his prison sentence is significantly lower, actually, than what federal prosecutors had wanted in the case, which was 16 years. A prosecutor described Malley as a lifelong criminal with 33 convictions prior on his record. Prosecutors say that Malley is one of the many Capitol rioters who have tried to actually make money off their criminal charges, portraying themselves as patriots or as political they launch prisoners fundraisers online. It's 2 34 on WTOP. That was when battled Congressman George Santos once again this morning asking the names of his bond co -signers be kept private in a new court filing by the New York Republicans lawyer. The Santos Department in Santos section claims the co -signers of his $500 ,000 bond are actually family members. Now it was earlier this week you may remember a judge in the case ordered those things to be made public. Santos was released bond on you may remember last month, ordered then to surrender his passport after pleading not guilty to 13 federal charges including wire fraud, money laundering and making materially false statements to the House of Representatives. Bishop E.W. Jackson on His Powerful Book "Sweet Land of Liberty"

"Talk to you about your life story and about the book, Sweet Land of, of Liberty. What, what led you at this point to, to write a book like this? Well, it's been in process for, and for a long time. Um, but what motivated me, Eric, and by the way, thank you for having me. I'm glad to be on with you because first of all, for you to say my life is complicated and busy, I kind of get a sense of what you're doing. So I'm just trying to throw people off the track cause my life is like loony, but no, but you are, you've done a lot of different kinds of things and it's such a joy when we can have someone with us in the studio, uh, you know, usually, uh, we do things other ways, but it's, it's just a joy when you're, you know, you're only coming from Virginia. So you're able to make it here, but I'm, I'm just grateful to have you here. Well, I'm glad to be here. Um, look, the motivation for writing the book is to just put it very simply, Eric, I love this country. I really believe that America is one of the greatest gifts God has ever given any people. If only you could get this message out to Whoopi Goldberg, just kidding. Okay. You, you are a patriot and I've heard you many times and you do love this country. And that's why, uh, it's so important to hear from you. But I guess, have you ever told your story in book form like this before? No, this is the first time. And you know, it's interesting. I begin the book by talking about musing as I have from time to time. What if I had been born some other place? What if I'd been born in some other country and I talk about the results, what the results could have been. I'm an outspoken person. I, I like expressing my opinion about things. There are places where I probably would be dead by now. Yeah. Uh, or we both be dead many times over. Um, but, but we grew up in America. Amen. We're allowed. We have this crazy thing. It's called freedom of speech. It's amazing.

"Arizona. Is that right? Charlie Kirk's group? Yes. I got tell to you, Mark, this guy is so impressive what he does, the organization he's got, the followers he's got. I mean, I think I've signed 600 books so far and I'm nowhere near done. this is a phenomenal organization. I mean, there are true patriots here. People who say, please, please don't ever stop. And you realize that these people are believers like we yes, yes. Well, that's terrific. I've always loved Charlie and his group and so forth. They're just terrific. I don't think he invites me anymore. Oh, well, I'll make sure that he does. No, I don't care. I turn down everything anyway. But the good news is that he's got no one telling him what to do. I want to thank Charlie. He's an incredible guy. His spirit, his love of this country. He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created turning point USA. We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. That's why we are here. Brought to you by the loan experts I trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific mortgage at andrewandtodd .com. We're with producer Andrew at the turning point USA young women's leadership summit. A lot to celebrate here. 2000 plus, I think we'll have 2 ,500 young women from across the country. But today's not a day of celebration. Today's a day of truth and action and honesty. Again, here's your trigger warning for all you college campus types out there. If you want to have just, oh, everything's great. Everything's fine. Go, go. Like I said yesterday, watch Bob Ross, right Daisy? Go watch Bob Ross. He'll bring down your blood pressure. But if you want the truth, you want to fight for your Republic. You're in the right place. Andrew, welcome. Thank you so much for having me. It's a terrible day and it's a beautiful day here in Dallas. I mean, this event is incredible. But to your point, I mean, I don't think I've ever seen our audience just reading through the emails, reading through some of the replies on your tweets. I've never seen everybody so fired up. They're fired up. It's and you should be. I mean, this is a complete bastardization. I think tonally the person that got it the most spot on was you with your tweet. I really think you set the tone yesterday. That tweet literally changed the, I think, course of the debate and the dialogue yesterday. I mean, hat tip to you for doing it. You know, it was like you and Pete Hegseth said something similar. Mark Levin was on point. It, you know, these are the days, you know, to kind of quote your monologue that try men's souls. But also it reveals who are the patriots, patriots. It reveals who's going to tuck tail and run. But, you know, here's the deal. This show is going to stay right where we need to be right behind the president, right behind the just the rule of law. And it's, by the way, it's less about Trump and more about like, this is bigger than a primary and I think that's what your tweet was really all about. Again, this is legal Pearl Harbor. We said that with the DA, this is even more grotesque. I mean, the, the thing in the DA's office in New York is you would expect, okay, local DA Democrat never happened before. Soros funded. This is department of justice. You it's almost as if they're acting like there's no, the Republican house doesn't exist. This is, this is serious stuff, everybody. Unpacking the Royals With Alex Clark and Jobob

"A lot of topics that I want to cover here. And it was funny. When we were in the break, we were talking about what we were going to start with first. And there's a ton of options on the table. And of course, Alex Clark said, I don't want to talk about the queen's court or the king's coronation. Because I don't know anything about the British stuff. And so I immediately thought then we're starting with the coronation. Of course. So Joe bob, why don't you fill us in? So King Charles is now King Charles. He's been crowned. He was the king already. And I think this is interesting too because my wife and I were just in London for like a week like two weeks ago and everybody was prepped with the coronation. Now the coronation is happening may 6th and isn't the coronation gonna be so grand. It was funny, all of our tour guides in London were saying, well, the king will walk down this road and the king will do this and I could I couldn't help but think the entire time and maybe this just makes me a patriot American who cares. I do not understand why anybody cares so much about the king of a foreign country and this whole idea of running society as a democracy. The idea of a monarch and king, I don't get it. Well, I mean, that part of it is really not the controversial part. I mean, you and I had a disagreement in the break. Yeah. I think there's a place for the royals and the monarchy as an institution in England. I think it's good when a country holds up these institutions that have history and tradition built into them that the people know and love and look up to. The queen was the great. There's a lot of people in this audience that think the queen was this globalist shill and she was actually working with the rockefellers and all this stuff. I don't know anything about this. All I'm saying, all I'm saying is that she comported herself with dignity, respect. She honored the church and the Church of England, the tradition that was handed down to her. She was a steward of she looked at her family as something to be protected and from the British tabloid press. Now, Joe bob comes at it from a different angle. You don't like it, do you very much? Oh. You know why? 'cause I'm an American. Okay, but here's what I don't understand. And I feel like there's a piece that I'm missing here. It seems to me like the English aren't that excited about this coronation and stuff either. Is that because they all hold a grudge against him for cheating on Princess Diana forever ago, or what's the problem? I think that well, Joe bob, what's your take? No, I don't know if I'd call myself an expert or anything. But when I was there, everybody was excited about it. That was

Michael, how are things going at public square headquarters? Charlie, things are amazing because of stories like you just shared. So the last few weeks in corporate America have been absurd with Anheuser Busch and with a lot of the banks prioritizing woke nonsense over financial stewardship, Silicon Valley bank donating $70 million to Black Lives Matter. People don't trust our institutions anymore. And rightfully so, they've done nothing to deserve our trust, corporate America has abused the values that tens of millions of Americans hold dear for the last decade. And so you're seeing patriot after patriots stand up and say, we're done with this. We're going to go shop with businesses that love our country, love the constitution, love our values, their pro life pro family, pro freedom. And in the process, we're seeing the economy literally shift the right types of businesses are prospering. They're seeing their profits surge. We had a business yesterday that just said, I moved all of my Facebook and Google advertising spend away, and I'm just prioritizing public 'cause I'm seeing better returns there. What's Up With the Tom Brady Deal? Michele Tafoya Weighs In

"What's up with the Tom Brady deal this year? I mean, he takes two weeks off. I mean, everybody's saying that gisele told him he had to spend time with the kids. I mean, I mean, is this just Tom being Tom? Well, it depends on what which Tom we're talking about. Tom is an incredible competitor. But, you know, over the years, we would ask him, and we covered the Patriots a ton. And we have what we call production meetings. A couple of days before the game or the night before the game depending on if the team was home or on the road, we'd sit out Chris and I are producer director. We'd sit in a room with Bill Belichick for a while, and Tom Brady for a while, then, you know, maybe a defensive player for a while, and you get this opportunity to really ask your own questions to make your broadcast unique. And just about every year for the past 5 years, we'd say, so Tom, someone would say, what do you think? How much longer? And he always bring up his family and his wife, and you know, that his wife really wanted him to spend more time. I don't think that was any secret. It was out there, you know, look, he's 45 now. And she's been holding down the fort. Now, we can all accept that they've probably got a lot of help at home. But who knows? I mean, look, she's a very involved mom. I've seen it when she brings the kids to the Super Bowl. Having said that, this whole time you're saying, okay, so Tom, when are you going to wrap it up here when did we get it surprised me? It didn't surprise me that Tom retired. It shocked me that he went back. It shocked me because I thought once he made the decision, that was a done deal and there was no way he was going to turn his back on that decision. So I was really surprised that he decided to go back and my hunches, maybe his wife was too, and look, there are a lot of rumors out there fight that seems to be the consensus,

"AP sports I'm time Miriam. It was a marathon day of sports on Monday, starting with a morning Major League Baseball game, and ending with two late night overtime games in the Stanley Cup playoffs. In between the NBA played two game twos in its opening round series in Philadelphia the 76ers maximized home court advantage defeating the next 96 84 as tyrese maxi led a defense that held the nest for just 35 second half points while scoring 33 himself. We were able to get started time we started when we needed them. Consecutive stops in a row, which led to fast breaks, led to easy buckets. Out west, the kings were beaming again, lighting up the warriors one 14 one O 6 as the air and Fox scored 24 to put Steve Kerr's defending champions in danger of becoming ex champions. We know we have to play better. But we will play better. We're these guys are champions. You saw what they did. It was a good playoff night for kings as the NHL's Los Angeles kings came from behind to stun the oilers four to three in game one on Alex I have follows overtime gold. It took two overtimes for the wild to beat the stars in Ryan Hartman's goal. The bruins said in NHL regular season record for victories and Boston started the postseason with a three one victory over the Panthers. Brad marchand scored what turned out to be the game winner. It's always good to start the first game with a win, but we have an accomplished anything yet. The hurricanes took advantage of home ice to stop the islands due to one in their game one. 25 stays for auntie ranta. Fun to play these games again. Just super excited and getting that home crowd going the baseball at the annual patriots day, morning game in Boston, former Red Sox hunter Renfro got the angels off early with a first inning three run Homer, then drove in another run in the second inning in a 5 four angels victory. I enjoy hitting here, I've been wearing it. I always love the crowd here. Obviously, being my time, even from before I'm being here. Later in the day, winners included the mets, braves, Astros, brewers, Diamondbacks, cubs, reds, pirates, and Marlins. Tom AP sports

Ukraine official: We will launch counteroffensive when ready

"The top Ukrainian official says it's only a matter of time before his country's military achieves a necessary preparedness to launch its counter offensive against Russian troops. I'm Ben Thomas with the latest. The secretary of Ukraine's national security and defense council tells the AP the country's allies are helping Ukraine acquire the necessary equipment to launch the attack delivering heavy armored vehicles and ammunition, but Alexei danilov also expressed frustration that allied officials sometimes promise one thing and do a completely different one. Well, he didn't elaborate. President Bloomberg zelensky in his nightly address noted, delays in the delivery of promised weapons costs of Ukrainian soldiers. Dental office says Ukraine will not start any offensive unprepared and while stopping short of confirming the patriot air defense system promised by the U.S. has arrived. He says the Ukraine's current weapons stockpiles will be enough to curb Russia. I'm Ben Thomas.

Rep. Ralph Norman: New Legislation to Protect Females in Sports

"Respect what the fact that she speaking up, she was at a very public harassment by the left, which is something that's getting to be a daily occurrence for those who believe like we do and but I met her twice. What a patriot. She is a patriot. I do understand congressman that she is backing a piece of legislation that you guys are set to vote on. This week that would actually protect women and girls in sports. I want you to tell our listeners about the legislation. Sure, great legislation, House resolution 7, 34 is entitled women and girls in sports act. Basically, Todd is just perhaps prohibit school athletic programs from allowing individuals whose biological sex at birth was male to participate in programs that are four women or girls. It prohibits that. Greg Stevie, who's a great patriot was a sponsor. I'm an original co sponsor. We're up to 93. Now and it's sad we have to do this, but it reestablishes the title 9 integrity by prohibiting anyone who receives federal funds and operates sponsors or if they facilitate athletic programs from allowing males to compete in programs or designate for women or girls. It's common sense, but up in D.C. or across the country sometimes common sense isn't so common. It is

The Macro Is Important, But It's Not Everything...

"Is coming. I don't want us to be overly focused on the macro political, my bigger call to action is actually on the micro is actually on what are you doing daily to become a better and stronger activist and patriot, a better child of God, a better father, a better friend, you know, what are you doing to take terrain? And then yes, one elections pop up, do your thing. Right. Because I think we're too focused on the macro. And I think the macro, the bad macro news can create a lot of fatigue and depression and cynicism and disengagement, where if you're doing small daily tasks as it says in the book of nehemiah, zerubabel says these are the days of long and hard work of righteous work when they were trying to rebuild the temple and they were discouraged. Then the macro shouldn't impact you as much, right? So what does that mean? It means if you're young and if you're a college student or your high school student here, save yourself for marriage and get married and have a beautiful family. That's something we should talk more about. That's important regardless if The White House is one or not. If you're an entrepreneur out there and you run a business, I hope you're able to scale your business to huge limits and become a George Soros and give all that money away so that you can fight these bad guys because we need really rich Christians to go pour hundreds of millions of dollars into these communities, right? What I'm trying to say is that the macro is important, but it's not everything. There's

The RESTRICT Act Revisited With Senator Kevin Cramer

"Let's dive right into it. Your co sponsor of the restrict act. Tell us why. Sure, a couple of things Charlie, like a lot of conservatives wondering what's the right touch on how you deal with all things China and of course there are other adversaries. How do we protect our young people? How do we protect our secrets? How do we protect data from bad actors and do you just ban TikTok and Huawei and then ban them as they come? Or can we put some guardrails up front that and some authorities that prevent these investments from taking place prior to them becoming prior to a 150 million users in the United States downloading an app. And I think it's an honest discussion. And I think there's somewhere in all of this, there's hopefully the right path. The restrict act to me seems like a pretty good starting point. And a good place to start the discussion at least and see where it leads. So do you think the bill is being currently misunderstood by critics such as myself? And if so, what do you think are the big misconceptions that people are leveling towards this potential piece of legislation? Yeah, I do think there's some misunderstanding, but at the same time, Charlie, you know, I'm always open to misunderstood people correcting me. I think it'd be arrogant for me to just say you're all you're all wrong and we're the good guys and we're right. And that's why that's why what I like about this bill, I expect that there'll be a lot of debate. There will be amendments offered and there should be. I actually think there could be a few more guardrails put in place a couple more restrictions, particularly on the executive branch. But one of the things, one of the what I think is a misconception is that this is similar to the patriot Patriot Act that it's a dragnet to catch Americans and all of those things. And we tried really hard in the Bill. And I used the term weed loosely, by the way. This was largely authored by Mark Warner and John thune. And they're on the commerce committee, which has jurisdiction over telecommunications. And so it's really a hardware, more of a hardware Bill. It doesn't go after VPNs, and we're really not interested in content. We're not interested in individuals. It's really companies from specific adversarial countries.

"Cop here. The comp is and by the way, as much as I love Tom Brady, we all have Tom Brady. That team won on defense. Yeah. You don't want patriots one on defense. Well, that's why that also helps with this comp, right? So that's where I'm getting. So look at the look at where that defense came from. Brewski law, malloy, McGuinness, Ted Johnson, write a lot of these guys, they all, they were on the 90 16. Yeah. That went to the Super Bowl loss. He looked at it. They went to the Super Bowl in 96. They made the playoffs again in 97 and 98. And then they had the two years where they didn't make the playoffs and then a what happened, right? That's this Celtics team. It's not a one O three O four, at least not yet. It's they're the late 90s to the 2001 patriots. This is the end of it, right? Because they got to the conference final as a couple times they made those they have that experience. Now that postseason experience, they've gotten sent home with that bad taste in their mouth. It started to look stale, which it did for the Patriots in 99 and 2000 and Carol. They move on from Pete Carroll right. And then the new coach comes in who buy the new coach comes in and then all of a sudden they get this second win the Second Life, all that experience starts coming back to them. I had Ted Johnson tell me a bunch this year when I was on with him talking about how important those playoff losses were to them. As they move forward, that's the cop. That's where the cop comes in. You got to go back to the 96 patriots and those are like, those are basically the Britney Celtics. Did 96 patriots are the bridge Celtics. And that's where you make the cop to O one. It's not a Brady thing. It's not that it's this is O one was really the fulfillment of that core. That's what it would have been if the run ended there. If they were in that one, and that's that. That's the fulfillment of that core. That's what that storyline is. It got overshadowed because of what happened next. And nobody should expect the Celtics to win three out of four the next four, because that's not a fair expectation of any team under any circumstance. That run was so improbable. What the Patriots did. But that's the comparison there. You got to go. I love it..

"Even if it's a monthlong injury, even if it's a 6 game injury. That if Bailey zappy could come in down the line and keep the Patriots above water for that month and then Matt comes back and now you're still in the playoff hunt because Bailey zappy went three and one or two and two and they didn't go zero and four without Matt Jones when he was sitting out. It's really unique for a young quarterback to be as aware of one through 53 as Mac Jones is. Right. And that's something that I think it stands out to him his maturity level in general is that he understands that everybody's got a role on the team and that everybody is important to the team in one way or another. And you heard some similar things in the past from Damien Harris as well. So I think this is an Alabama theater where Damien Harris understands that having Andre Stephenson on the team makes him better, even though you could look at it and say that ramonda Stevenson is his replacement at some point down the line. Iron sharpens iron competition is good, but also depth is good. And I think that they recognize that they have more wins in their back pocket and with zappy on the roster than if they didn't have those two guys on the roster. So it's an interesting situation. Obviously neither one of us is saying that Bailey zappy is going to make this a competition this summer and this is going to be a quarterback competition like we had last year with cam and Mac. But it's still an interesting pick nonetheless. And I think that it will be a very notable topic as we move forward to see how well he can do in training camp. We have seen between Stidham and Mac. We've seen some young quarterbacks recently in camp. So we know what the line is, right? Like we know what we know what looks good, what doesn't look good and those types of things with these younger quarterbacks. So we know how our eyes are calibrated to evaluate them a little bit better now because we've been through this a couple of times. So it'll be interesting to see what he looks like..

"I'm Evan Lazar, joined as always by Alex barth and Alex and I were out at July stadium this morning for patriots OTAs, the second practice session that was open to the media, not much to glean from what we saw out there today, Bill Belichick, inviting everybody back from the holiday weekend for some walkthroughs, some conditioning, and reminded me of when I used to play in high school Alex and big night out, the night before, the coach would say, hey guys, show up to practice tomorrow at 6 a.m.. We're running sprints for an hour before school to get that partying. Let's put it to you that way. Out of the system, right? It felt a little bit like that out there today. You're so cool. Like, oh my God, I'm so jealous. I'm not saying that I'm the one. You were like the guy in high school. That must have been awesome and let's hear it for high school, Evan, everybody. Very far from the guy. I was the guy on the bench in high school. That's for sure. Definitely not the guy. My Friends were more so the players that actually played and did things in high school and I was more the kid that they'd come out over to in talk to when they were bored on the sideline. But that was more me. Anyways, getting back to where we were going with that Alex. Not exactly the most intense practice or I wouldn't say we can glean any real takeaways from what we saw out there today. But as you like to say, have to do a show and there are a few things that I thought stood out to me that were interesting, but overall, what was your take on Tuesday at my take is there is no take. There wasn't much to say. Yeah. Yeah, I'd agree. I mean, the only one, Evan, you're going to hate this. But if we want to do an actual football take and not just who was there and hear who wasn't. You can run routes at half speed, you can kind of block shortages, loose hands, whatever..

"Bet online where the game starts. Last thing here on the wide receivers, Nikhil Harry, let's just put this out there and be honest. If the Patriots had a trade partner for Nikhil Harry, he'd already be off the team, right? I mean, this is not a matter of the Patriots hanging on for hope that Nikhil Harry is going to prove out to be a good player or live up to that first round expectation. There is nobody that wants to give the Patriots anything for Nikhil Harry. So what do you think ultimately ends up happening with him? Do you think that they cut them? Do you think that they find a trade partner at the end of training camp or maybe they end up keeping them for one more year? He is under contract for one more season and then you can cut bait next off season. There's value in bringing him into camp. You can only increase his trade value. We talked about this on a previous show, right? Let him go out there, let him wash you on Williams a couple of times. Let him do it in a pre season game, get the hype but maybe you can movement a pick swap. They just have too many wide receivers. It's not worth the Ross or spot for them to keep them. And everybody's go, oh, play tight. He's not tight end. That would make it easy. If you use it tight end, that would make it easy. 'cause I'd rather have him probably than Asia or key. Right. But he's not that guy. So they might end up having a cut. There's some dead money, there's not a ton, but yeah, yeah, I can't see him on the team. Yeah. I mean, I think what you're hoping for is that maybe somebody gets hurt in another camp, obviously you're not hoping anybody gets hurt. But the idea is somebody gets hurt in other camp, a team has a few injuries at the wide receiver position. They absolutely just need a body there. Maybe Nikhil Harry becomes somebody that can fill in there, but at this point during the draft, they basically got no calls on him..

"But they're scoring at the second highest rate in the league. 48% of the time they get the ball. They score. The only team ahead of them is the chiefs, 48.2. The bills aren't bad, they're 5th. They're 45, but that kind of proves my point. If you limit the drives, which team can get points more consistently, you know, over a certain period of time for the bills it's gonna add up because they're more explosive. Yeah. But if you can limit those drives, the Patriots on a per drive basis are the more actually the more consistent offense. So I think that's a big thing in this game is let's look at the number. And look, I said this, I said for the bucks game, I said, if they hold the bucks to 9 or fewer drives, they would win the game. The buck scored the what ended up being the winning touchdown on the tenth drive of the game. So I'm going to put that number out there again. If they can hold the bills, you know, it's probably needs to be. It might have been 8, 9, actually. That's it. I said, 8 drives. Tampa scored what was the go ahead touchdown on the drive on the Patriots and suing drive. They missed that field golden right if the Patriots could hold the bills to 8 drives or less. They're gonna be right there in this game. It's when you get to drives 9, ten, 11, 12, but this is what the bills have been the last few weeks. Again, please bring back the Payton game plan. Just what I'm saying. That's what this is. The bills were close. They were close in the third quarter against Atlanta. They were close in the third quarter against the jets. They were close in the third quarter against the Patriots in week 16. They need those extra drives to do what they want to do. That's when they break through, they break through late in games and we've seen this defense struggle late in games. So what do you do? And by the way, the whole latent game thing to me, people think of that is.

"They've got to be going for four to 5 yards to carry, staying ahead of the chains, it's chewing up the clock when they have the ball, and then on defense, if you can force the bills to do the same, you just shrink their margin for air. You shrink it significantly because they're built to win. And I'm going to pull the numbers up after I say this. I should have had them in front of me. But the bills are trying to get ten, 11, 12 shots, right? Yeah. Because they figure, they that's the thing about patriots offense. It's not explosive, but they're pretty much going to do what they're going to do. I don't know that they need as many drives to get to the total that they want to get to. They can do what they need to do, especially if they're running the ball well, they can do what they need to do and only 7 or 8 drives. And it helps the defense too, because the defense has been getting picked for the Patriots. The defense has been getting gas late in these games. If the bills, the fewer drives the bills run, the better chance patriots have in that game, again, that's running the ball, it's limiting turnovers, it's forcing them to run the ball. Yeah. So I think that's a huge part of this game. I'm going to pull up the drive numbers. Is this the two high Peyton Manning Broncos game? Remember that game in 2013, the Patriots came out. They played a bunch of dime. They played a lot of too high safety and they forced Peyton man to hand the ball to no Sean Moreno the entire game. I think no Sean ran for like 250 yards. But the Patriots ended up winning the game in overtime. And I look at this game and I think it's a similar style where last game out, they played post safety man to man coverage. They played some split safety man to man with the cutter, you know, the safety is cutting the crossers, but whatever. That's the minutia of it, right? That's getting in the weeds. Right. Regardless of all of that, they played way too much man to man in that game. We know that. I'm not sitting here saying that the bills offense, there's some kryptonite to the bills offense and there's this answer to the bills often if they do this, they'll win the game automatically. That's not no one's suggesting that. But every time I watch the bills on filming, I've watched a ton of bills tape this year because they've now played them three times. Every single time that I watch the bills on tape, they are much worse and much more prone to making mistakes against zone coverage than man coverage. I think that Allen technically throws well against both types of coverages because he's just a good player..

"Talking about the chiefs just reminds me of, you know, Brandon staley in that game. That he blew with the Chargers because he kept going forward on fort dawn down and passing up field goals. You know, him saying you've got to score touchdowns against that team was so out of touch and just actually not correct. It was like basically this was an equivalent of him saying like if they played the Patriots being like, well, you have to score touchdowns against that team, because you know they're going to come back at some point. After Tom Brady left, like that's not acknowledging that Tom Brady left. It's the same thing as not acknowledging Patrick Mahomes is not the same guy. They are not the same team on offense. So for me, I think no matter where it is, Casey, here, whatever. I think the chiefs are very beatable. The Patriots know how to play them defensively, the chiefs don't have the weapons to exploit it. And I think the Patriots can control the line of scrimmage in that game. As for the Bengals, we alluded to it a couple times in the pod. There is a feeling based off of their choice to rest Joe burrow, who did kind of tweak a knee a little bit in that late game debacle situation there. In the win over the chiefs, Joe Mixon on the COVID list so he's out anyway and resting some other players. They're going in with a preseason sort of lineup in their season finale against the browns. The browns aren't really going to put up that much of a fight themselves. So this could be a total rock fight. But there are some people who believe Bengals are resting on purpose because they're trying to position themselves for a first round matchup with the Patriots. You don't buy that. I buy it. Well, let me ask you this. Who's the weakest team in the playoff? Put yourself on the other side of the coin. Which team scares you the least in the playoffs of the ones in there right now..

"About that. But the Bengals have a shaky offensive line that negates some things will help the Patriots get pressure. So yeah, I want the Bengals if I have my brothers. Okay. And we will talk about whether the Bengals want you, but we'll run through the rest of the AFC. One of the top two seeds either gonna be Kansas City or Tennessee. It's Tennessee as it stands right now if everyone holds served. You know, that they'll be the one seed. Should they fall to two? That is a potential patriots opponent between Casey and Tennessee. It looks on paper that Casey is the scarier team, but in terms of a matchup with the Patriots, Tennessee might be the bigger issue. It might be the bigger problem. Yeah. I'm scared to death at a time. I don't want to play. I don't want nothing to do with them in the playoffs. Yeah. I mean, and you initially I should point out on Boston sports journal, you pointed out your predictions when you thought the Patriots were going to win the AFC was a second round loss to Tennessee. You know, and that's how you had the season ending. You're face him in the first round. It's just, you know, it's a quicker death. Yeah, and I actually have a decent chance of my preseason prediction coming through, which was 11 and 6. Beat the bills at buffalo in the first round lose at Kansas City in the divisional round. So I got a chance. My pre season prediction of pretty good. Spot on. Yeah. But yeah, the Titans, I'm scared to death of the Titans. Look, they're not, they're not going to run away from you. They're not formidable, so in a lot of ways you're like, all right, well, at least we know we're not going to get blown out of the water or fall behind like 27, nothing in the first quarter. Where the chiefs have that possibility, they haven't been that team in a long time, probably going back to the beginning of last year before Patrick Mahomes had that turf toe. They've never been the same really since then. The Titans Derrick Henry's coming back come back to practice this week. They could have a buy where they're rested, Mike vrabel with more time to think of stuff to just screw with the Patriots, scares me to death. The Titans, if they want to run the ball, they can do that. All of a sudden a patriots have to put more resources to stop in the run, all of a sudden that opens it up to AJ Brown and it Julio Jones is back and you know all these guys who are coming back from injury who you didn't have to worry about the first time. I mean, the Titans didn't have anybody coming in here. And it was still, they were one yard away for making it a one score game midway through the fourth quarter. What do you think they're gonna do with a full squad?.

"With Nick cattle Johnson is subbing in for Nick one more week, but Greg beard is here. Normally we would talk about what transpired last week, but who cares, really? We'll still get into it. We'll talk a little bit about the Jaguars. Most important on everyone's mind the playoffs. Who will the Patriots play? Who wants to play the Patriots who doesn't want to play the Patriots right now? Opinions by differ on that. We'll talk about that as well. Are people right now actively seeking to play the Patriots in the first round of the playoffs? Depends on who you ask. We'll talk about that and a little bit about the Jaguars game as well. And give you our prediction for this week's upcoming game against Miami. But first off, let's start with the playoffs Greg. Right now the Patriots are one of 5 teams guaranteed a spot in the postseason in the AFC and they could theoretically play anybody right now. That could be buffalo any of the division winners. They could go as low. They're the four seat now they could go down to the 6, but they could play Tennessee. Kansas City buffalo or cincy. So let's just start ranking the potential opponents. Let's start with if everybody holds serve and wins. Let's start with buffalo. This is, you know, the one you know, the team you've already played twice. Yeah, and quite frankly, I think the playoffs seating as it is right now outside of the Chargers and the Raiders. I mean, who knows? I like the Chargers in that game, not by a lot. But I think it's going to hold serve. I think it's going to end up the exact same way. You know, there's a lot of talk about this and that. But I think it ends up the exact same way, which would mean the Patriots traveled to buffalo for the divisional the wildcard game. You know, where I have them ranked. I have them to me, they are the second preferred team. Just because they are familiar with them, they know, they know how buffalo's going to play them. They just, they just got buffalo's best shot. And while the Patriots lost, they played like complete crap in that game and highly confident that they are not going to do that again. And I think they're going to have a much better and we've talked about it before in the aftermath of that, where I said, I like them in a rematch. If that didn't say, I think it was great how it worked out for the Patriots when it comes to the playoffs because the first matchup was basically negated because of weather. They got the bills best shot in this game, their best game plan. Now they can adjust to it and then in the next round, they get to adjust. I don't think there's much the bills can do different to sort of throw any curveballs at the Patriots. So they know the worst case scenario with the bills..

"To develop? I just don't think well, that's the other thing. So I'm glad you brought that up because so just real quick for my point of view before you get because I have my point of view and then you have the right answer. Yes. I think that I don't think Josh McDaniels had a feel for what the Patriots offensive line was doing in that game or what the bills pass versus doing in that game. Because he's calling plays that needed time to develop in that time just wasn't there. And that's not on Mac that's not on the receivers. You just, I think that's the thing where and again, this is a theme of the whole game. I think the Patriots coaches never picked up on the flow on the tempo on the mood, whatever you want to call it. They never picked up on what was happening on the field. This is what, and this is what I criticized the bills for immensely after week 13. And I'll bring it back and say the Patriots did it. The Patriots did what they wanted to do. They put their head down, they put the blinders on they closed their eyes, la la la la la, they did what they wanted to do. They didn't allow the game to dictate any of their decisions. And that's bad coaching. It's bad coaching. And this is another example. Yeah, so your point about Magnum getting rid of the football. I think one of the most interesting statistics that I've seen, not getting rid of the football, I'm saying they were calling plays where he had to hold the ball too. Okay, yeah. Either way, right? Maybe a little bit, yes. I understand where you're coming from. Yeah. So just in general, whether it was scheme related play calling related or Mac related and receiver related, Matt Jones over the last two weeks, his average time to throw Alex has been 3.1.

"They're at home. The Titans have nobody, the Patriots should be expected to win this game. And now losing this game, I don't care how much they win by, right? I'm not gonna get into all of you only win by three points. It's not impressive. A win is a win, right? But now they should be held accountable for winning a football game like this because the Titans are just decimated by injuries. Yeah, and I mean, you know, you look at kind of what they're doing. I think if you're the Patriots, the plan is easy. Get up early because they don't, you know, they still have all their tight ends, but they don't throw the ball in tight ends a ton, especially down the field, Anthony first, or is their leading receiver among tight ends, 20 sorry, 19 catches for a 138 yards. I mean, that's not, you know, they're thrown underneath to those guys off play action. Those guys are the checkdown options off play action. So if you can get ahead and take the running game out 'cause I do like devonta foreman, the offense line's okay. They're banged up there as well. But if the Patriots, you just can't, it's almost like going back to the falcons game now. I feel like where that was the taking care of business game, right? That's kind of what this is. Get up early, forced them to be predictable forced them to throw the ball and you should be fine. I think that's where you're at at this point and just, you know, Mike variables a much better coach than Arthur Smith. I don't think anybody's going to disagree with that. So just be on the offensive side of the ball, don't turn the ball over. They're able to have something dialed up and don't play in his hand. Variable just seems to be the only thing going for the Titans right now is that his somewhat institutional knowledge, I think it's a little he played for the Patriots 20 years ago. So it's not like he has a ton of institutional knowledge, but at least some of it, he's not afraid to come in here and play Bill Belichick and play the Patriots. And like you said, this feels like a game where every trick play that the Titans have and their playbook offensively is in play on Sunday. They're gonna, it's gonna be really difficult for them to make yards on the offensive side of the ball. Just by going head to head against these patriots defenders, right? The Patriots are going to have a lot of advantages when they when the Titans have the football. So trick plays, double passes, double reverses. Running backs throwing passes, wide receivers throwing away new, whatever they have, right? Whatever they have in that book. They're going to bring out. Now, I want to talk about the Patriots offense against the Titans defense. The Titans defense has some injuries on it too. But most of their main guys, it sounds like Harold Landry is going to play in this game. Jeffrey Simmons is playing bayards playing. So they have most of those guys on the defensive side of the ball. This isn't an analytics darling of a defense. Football outsiders and DVO aid. Think they're okay, you know, 12, 13, somewhere around there and EPA and DVA and all those types of metrics. So not an elite defense by the metrics..

"Edition of the Patriots B podcast here on the CLS media podcast network. And for those of you watching on YouTube, I'm patriots press pass. I'm Evan Lazar, joined as always by Alex barth. And today we are going to preview the Patriots and the Titans on Sunday. We're also going to talk a little bit and we hope that all of you had a good Turkey day and a good Thanksgiving on Thursday about some of the games we saw yesterday, mainly the bills and news just trickled down that your davious white did in fact tear his ACL in that game for buffalo and is now out for the season. So that's a big, bit of news there in terms of the AFC east and how this will all shake out. But I want to start with the Titans, Alex, and I hate taking opponents lightly. I hate it. I think it's stupid, I think it's any given Sunday in the NFL. I think all those things are true. I think the Patriots learn their lesson back in week 5 against the Texans about taking opponents and quarterbacks lightly. And Davis mills almost beat them and almost put them in a two and 5 hole. So I think the Patriots have learned their lesson in a lot of ways of taking opponent lightly. But if you look at how banged up this Titans team is versus how hot the Patriots are and how healthy the Patriots are right now, there is not a statistical trend. There is not an area of the Titans roster that's outperforming any area of the Patriots roster right now. Outside of Mike frabel, not being afraid of Bill Belichick being tuna against Bill as the head coach of the Titans and the Titans being an intangibles type of team. They're tough, hard nosed, fundamentally sound, compete our Brazilian football team is really difficult to talk yourself into the Titans winning in this spot. It just feels like this should be a patriots win and cover type of situation. It does, but, you know, the Patriots had the what year was that 18 or 19? I think it was 19, right where the Patriots went down there and they got smoked. They didn't just use it, got smoked. Yeah. When the Patriots had a more talented team, Derek Henry wasn't really Derek Henry yet at that point, I think Mariota was still starting for Tennessee. Yeah, it was Mariota, no AJ Brown yet, right? Because he was a great and then you go back to the playoff game in 19 in 19 and obviously the Patriots had some internal issues going on at that point. But they were still on more talented team, I thought, and Mike vrabel has been able to kind of put Bill Belichick in a blender at.

"In this game, it dropped down to about 22% in terms of pressure was night and day. And so you saw Mac Jones finally relaxed and I don't have to worry about getting killed in every snap. And then you wonder why he was almost perfect in this game. And that's the reason why. But the back to the offensive line real quick. It wasn't just they played well up front. Trend Brown made a difference. But you also have to tip your cap big time to Josh McDaniels and the way he was spinning the dial between outside run inside run screen this. The browns didn't know which way they were going. They were basically spinning at the top a lot of times. And that made the protection and made the running game and made everything look better. So it was equal parts the offense just being harmonious for the first time this season. I'm gonna circle back to Mac. First of all, this is just the most recent example of this guy responding. And we see little examples of this like microcosms of it. But then when you look at the macro level, that was macro. Like he had, you know, over the past couple of weeks, plateaued as you said. And it's whether or not he's going to respond. And just like he has shown us within a game, like he showed us in the preseason like you showed us in camp when he had his worst practice day. He came right back and had one of his best, if not the best. He just responds to the challenge. He's got that confidence slash swag, whatever you want to call it. And this was another example of him answering the bell. He tends to respond when he's challenged, which I think is a fantastic characteristic to have as a professional athlete. The other thing I would say is, you know, people tend to look at the score and they say, oh, 45, 7, and you know, the offensive line was great and you know, Mac didn't have to do two too much. It was kind of easy for him. Two points. The first point is that drive that began the game for the Patriots offense. Huge kind of have to have it drive that many people are going to overlook. It's 7 nothing. You are close to going three and out. It's a third and long. You make the play. And that drive continues Mac makes two or three more throws on third down. The Patriots end up scoring at 7 7 baker throws the pick to dug her. And pretty much from that point, the Patriots, it's a boat race. So that earth drive was critical. The second thing I would say, you know, aside from changing at the line of scrimmage, Stevenson 16 yard run. The bucket throw to Myers, the seed between two defenders to Kendrick Bourne, great catch by born for the touchdown. The soft touch touchdown to Henry the first touchdown of the game. Dan roski highlighted the second touchdown by Henry where, you know, Matt kinda looks off the linebacker at the hash to get him away from Henry and then for the touchdown. You had a number in your column after the game. And you know, I know some people might not care about analytics. And I think I kind of agree with you, Greg, we use it as a baseline. We use it as context. It help, it doesn't necessarily drive opinion, but it helps..

"This is the Greg bedard patriots podcast with Nick cabins. Well, that was utter domination and I think mostly unexpected how easy it looked patriots beat the browns 45 to 7 and Greg the question that people are asking are the Patriots back? I want to say yes Nick, but I don't want to over promise and under deliver with this team. As a journalist, you try not to get caught up into what's going on and just sort of deal with the facts. And look, there's no question that whether it was in the press box or reviewing the film and I've watched all the offense film. I have not finished the defense yet. It was as an impressive patriots performance that I've seen in some time. In terms of utter domination, wire to wire, I think I would have to go back to the 2019 season opener. Yeah, 2019 season opener. Against the Steelers. And the way they executed in this game in all phases and the way they beat you in so many different ways was just really really impressive and it reminds you of patriots teams past. Now the thing that all caution and I'm just, I know I'm not going to go overboard. I'm sure the fans are. I'm not going to go overboard yet because I'm just not sure what this team's ceiling is. There have been years past where we've seen performances like this, maybe like, you know, like 2019, where down the stretch, it didn't hold up and they kind of got exposed that they beat up against a soft schedule. Will we look back and say this stretch of games was really a lot softer than we thought. Maybe, but in just in terms of what I look for in a game, I was happy watching this film, it's been a long time since I've been happy and the Patriots were just they were great and all the phases. It was very fun to watch. They were dominant in the trenches after that first drive on both sides of the football. They really dictated this game from beginning to end. Again, from the first drive and on. Obviously, the first drive was a disaster. The Johnson ran the football down their throat. But after that first drive, man, they dictated this game. And when we look at this in the big picture, I tend to agree with you as far as the ceiling. I'm not really sure what the ceiling is, but I'm also not really sure what the ceiling for the rest of the conference is. This is a very season. The AFC is as wide open as I could ever remember a conference being this deep into a season. You can almost flip a coin to tell me who's the better team in this conference. I mean, Tennessee, at least, record wise is the best team in the conference, but their offense the last two weeks has not been good. They've had like 470 total yards the last two weeks combined, they're really led by their defense. I'm interested to see if a team can get through that defense without Derek Henry is Tennessee good enough..

"Is Henry. We'll see. Another, by the way, we already did XFL AF legends. What about when Tony Pollard goes in the game for Zeke? Still pretty good. But still pretty good. Not as good also, you're looking at a little differently here because I think we overrated Ezekiel Elliott for a long time. That's what I would say about that rookie season he was amazing. He was, but let's not also forget for the majority of his career, he's run behind the top three offensive line in the NFL. Like the offensive line dictates running back successful time. Thank you. That's the point, right? That's what that's why a guy like AP can step in for Derek Henry. But what I'm telling you is the offensive line and a good system of football well. I'm not saying, look, I'm not saying that running backs are solely responsible for their own success. But what I'm saying is, Derek Henry, it's different. Derek Henry can generate his own success regardless of the offense. You can't tackle patriots. The Patriots play the Titans, was that week 12? Yeah. I think it is. And there's a chance that Derek Henry might not play in that game, but at least we're gonna have a sample size of what four games. I think it is of Adrian Peterson in there for I'm not saying that he's gonna be as good as Derek Henry, but I'm saying that it's actually three games. Week 12, three games right after Thanksgiving is when the Patriots play the Titans. I'm not saying that it's going to be as good as Eric Henry. I'm saying that you're not going to notice a huge discrepancy just like you will. There's having noticed a huge discrepancy with choba hover on the ground. So here's what I'd say. Derek Henry and I can't remember the exact number. I found this data a long time ago and I can't refine it. But when the NFL, and this is going to send you through the roof, but this is for everybody else. When the NFL stats tackles, there's two kinds of tackles. They're solo tackles in combo tackles. The highest percentage of, you know, for any ball carrier, the highest percentage of combo tackles. So the guy who is hardest to tackle one on one last year was Derek Henry, and he was something like 15 points ahead of the next closest player. You spent that's beyond the offensive line because the offensive line gets him the hole, but no other player refuses to be brought down by the first person to come tackle them other than Derek Henry, and that's where I go back to that combination. The only comparison I can think of for that was prime Rob Gronkowski because when Gronk was in his back, right? When he was at like 2013 when he had that massive season, right? 2011 was 2011. Did he go back, remember the plane Washington where he's carrying three guys down the sideline? The first person to Rob Gronkowski never made the tackle. Never. That's what Derek Henry does that job doesn't do it. Elliott doesn't do it. Khmer doesn't do it. None of them do it. Derek Henry, it's on another level because the offensive line. All right, well we'll see because like I mentioned,.

"So if they can put some of those plays and install some of those plays in this week into the game plan and into that opening script, that might give the patrons some problems early, then maybe you get a touchdown drive out of that early. And then if you can play playground football a couple of times, that's how you get the Patriots into trouble in this game. And by the way, somebody asks if walker's so good and we're talking him up a lot. Like if walker's so good, why is Sam darnold at starter? That's a good question. Yeah. There was a smarter because he was a former first round pick and they traded a bunch to get them. But there were conversations at the end of the preseason that he didn't let me wasn't a walk. I think by the end of the preseason it wasn't a locked Arnold who was gonna start. Like you said, I think they paid that price for him and they had to stardom. But if you go back and you look at what they didn't camp and what they did in the preseason, walker did just as much to win that job as darnold did. You know, I don't know that he's a franchise quarterback because, you know, he's not super accurate from the pocket, but he's, you know he's a solid bridge guy. If you needed a bridge quarterback, if you need a guy to start for a year or you know, you lost your quarterback early in the season. You have a good roster. You still want to try to be competitive. PJ walker is a real NFL quarterback. He is. And darnold might be at least a starting quarterback. I think he can be. Sam darnold might be on his way out of that conversation. PJ walker can play. Yeah, so it's going to be a nearly interesting week of defending PJ walker and I look at some of the game plans that the Patriots have had in the past. Again, some of these mobile quarterbacks and it seemed like when they played Kyler and they played Lamar last year that Bill Belichick finally found a formula that worked against those types of guys where he put Kyle duggar and Adrian Phillips out on the edges as overhang players to kind of force the run back inside and force the quarter back back inside, plus you get put those guys out there instead of some of the bigger linebackers at the Patriots have and those guys are obviously more athletic to bring those guys down and contain a guy like PJ walker. So if the question is, I guess, is how much do the Patriots? How much do the patrons actually fear a guy like PJ walker and do they have, do they feel like they need to go full game plan mode against him like they did last year with Lamar and with Kyler, 'cause if they come out with that sort of same formation where they had to overhang and it was duggar on one side.

"You want the cap to go up, right? Yeah, so that's, that's my opinion. And hopefully I laid out why I think like that, It's basically the Patriots have been trying to get as not to go back and they just been getting older this year. They started getting younger and it's just continued to trying to get younger in 2021. They invested ways to do so was to sign players in the 24 25 26 range. Let the guys go who are in their thirties go. Yeah, I agree and even like when we spoke to get up to we just talked about Allen Robinson. He's twenty-eight years old. He feels like he's like thirty two, but he's only 28 years old. But if you're talking about a five-year hundred million dollar for a twenty-eight-year-old receiver, I don't really like them either. You know what I mean? Like cuz you're going to end up paying age 31 32 33 or what-have-you is going to end up being a very expensive year for a receiver. That's probably going to be on the decline at that point them are usually the contracts that the Patriots like to stay away from so I'm glad you clarified that though because I think that there's a lot of mixed signals out there and they don't always have to agree with you but you're always right. So I'm just always wage. I I at least I try to back this stuff up what I'm saying and attacks me up when people say like some guy asked me today like you had sent out the Tweet about the 11 draft picks. Yeah, and I said there's a month. Faded the ones of the Jets and another and the guy asked me ask us again. I thought you wanted yes, but like like like if you're going to say I thought they did something approve it, you know said hey, I was looking at a chart and they they made a trade with the Jets and they traded in to that pick and they traded out of the pick again and I got confused..
