"patrick. mahomes" Discussed on The Lead

"Tries to pass that he probably shouldn't. Mahomes steps up, doesn't throw initially fine time throws tried to force it in. Off the bounce Tennessee has got it. And we've seen those time and time again. This season for Patrick Mahomes. The next possession Patrick Mahomes scrambles and then he fumbles the football while trying to get additional yards. And mahomes will keep going. Loses the football Tennessee has got it. Nothing is working for the chiefs. And so there is a real snowball effect. And teams now know the best way to beat the chiefs is to try to take the ball from them and then continue to kind of keep them in that place, not let the chiefs sort of rally in game confidence. I mean, you mentioned daring and him being fearless and creative and obviously that goes back to what he was before, and those stories that you wrote about. So is it possible that opposing defenses are just more prepared for those things now? And those aren't really working for him as much as they used to? It's a great question Tiffany and I think this has been something that's been in the making since 2018, right? I think opposing defensive coordinators and players on defense were utterly amazed by what mahomes could do in 2018. And there was really no defense designed to stop this. But I think defense is so starting to realize that they should not blitz my homes. He's the least blis quarterback in the league. So if you have 7 defenders out in coverage, well, hey, if a ball is tipped, there's another defender nearby for an interception. And so what defenses are trying to do is to prevent a deep pass from mahomes. That is what he is so effective at. It's what makes the chiefs offense so potent. A deep pass from Patrick Mahomes to tyreek hill the fastest receiver in the league, well, now safety user playing 20 to 15 yards off the ball. It's made mahomes have to think a little bit more, which means, well now I gotta force the issue. Now I have to initiate something that create a.

Chiefs vs. Chargers: Kansas City Defense Looking Weak Ahead of Sunday's Game

"All right folks will this next game that we've got Is going to be against our division rivals. The kansas talk Yeah so let's take a look at a couple of games for them. Their first game of the season was against the cleveland browns. That's who they played in the playoffs last year Let's see patrick. Mahomes put up over three hundred and thirty yards three touchdowns in that game Tyreek hill almost got two hundred yards. Goodness gracious On that game with a touchdown. And travis kelsey seventy six yards with two touchdowns so clearly we know who favor targets are guys from that game tyreek hill and travis kelsey They were pretty comparable as far as their stats go. Cleveland was able to put up a four hundred fifty seven yards. That's a big difference I think the big thing here is the rushing yards in this game in the next game. They they've put up very few rushing yards and they put up seventy two their week. One game against the browns. They put up sixty two week. Two against the ravens. So i'll and then the ravens put up to fifty and the browns put up one hundred fifty three so just looking at this and how close these games are this. Kansas city chiefs team is defense. Isn't what he was no. You can clearly see that. And i'm looking at these stance here. It looks like against baltimore. Game tyreek hill only got fourteen yards leagues. What happened here. So they've they've shut them down. While i think that's you know we put this in here to just show the fact that if we can lockdown kelsey and hill and just moderately. Stop the run. I think we're going to have a good chance and we just need to score touchdowns like you're gonna have to score thirty to beat these

"I'm host an audio producer of the arrowhead. Pride podcasts networks steven certa on wednesday. The chiefs are back on the practice field. We heard from head coach. Andy reid quarterback patrick mahomes so as tackle orlando brown junior and linebacker. Nick bolton will kick things off in that order. We'll start with andy reid. Then you'll hear patrick mahomes. We'll take a quick time out. And then you'll hear from tackle orlando brown junior and linebacker. Nick bolton for challenge playing the ravens football team rogan football team. So we're aware that and we'll start off today preparation time. You're working here monday night. This is that kind of problem proposal. Be so vic. Sammy watkins fan. I like him as a human being. I like him as a player. And i wish him the best or playing them so i can't wait them the best for that for the rest of the season. I wish we should the heck of a question but report yesterday. That showed that way scared. Se of two part question here. Have you talked about that. And then what are your concerns about that. He might go to a college division. Yeah listen. I haven't really talked to him about that but i i know he's from that area and he's going to be great wherever he goes so and i'm his biggest fan so astounded if he wants to go there where he wants to go there. Lucky dab unless you guys know how feel on that of the world them. And i think he's a football coach and a great man so and you walk into obviously there but his first game going back into the race. Is there something extra. They come players in the first game. Especially when it's such china offered. Yeah they've got justin houston. They're there's a little bit of that going on in this game of knowing knowing people so and organizations. But i'm sure he'll be excited. I think what it really comes down to it though. He's going to focus on his performance. What he needs to do to to perform well so he's mature guy that waste now couple of years but did between the contains a billing list because of wessel about this against of our very well coached and they're they've got good players and so it's always a knock down drag out fight there and they're tough. That's the way they practice. That's the way you go about their business. And so we've got gotta make sure we prepare ourselves right for it. So every play is on his down when you play them Mournful yeah well. Both of them. Can they know how to run the football and you saw that even with the injuries that are taking place ran the ball. So i think they're office. Coordinator has got a tremendous respect for it. He he's got a great feel for run game. Lamar obviously as a huge threat. I mean he's just he can throw it to run it and he's smart so all those things go in likes to play the game so you gotta prepare yourself the right way. They're going on now. I think it's great they-they've again is a great human being. I think he's good for that organization in particular where they say you know what people perceive where sit now And he hasn't believing in tyrod is a i think he's a very good quarterback. Were i was lucky enough to have them in a pro bowl so got to work with them a little bit and now he has an opportunity to play and look like he took advantage of that opportunity very well back to the practice today. Coming from less state review wouldn't miss didn't have and report back. Yeah so. I mean he's a great player and and not taking anything away from the other guys. I mean they did a nice job back there. But you're obviously. I miss somebody like that. So he's wondering primers signal callers back there so be getting it back in that role and keep the communication. I've everybody's gonna play them. Those guys. it was great great experience for twenty two. Had a nice day problem for how he handles business He's still gonna play. So i mean he's going to have an opportunity he's in different different group. Is it out so but it'd be great to get around back when you talk about justin houston but they have gotten involved cliffs campbell. Wing guys of washington played a raiders with you. Love fast fast fast. They get the ball just as actually playing very well forum slight. Then i'm a fan of his too. So i mean he's a football player and he knows you knows this offense and so but those other guys they they play play hard and aggressive and you know you gotta be accurate. What you do in may help.

Just a whole different ballgame of what we're normally used to So one draft to go there but yeah like you said one week to go. I am getting to that point where it's tough to sleep at night. I'm counting down the days anytime it gets into single digits as you can just start to feel it. I'm so ready you guys. How do you fall asleep on nights like this. Single digits what What petite asleep heavy bad not dreaming about patty mahomes touchdowns to travis kelsey or kenneth gain. Well breaking off a run. It's funny you say that because if you saw my google search history. It's just kenny gain while college highlight kenny gain. Well highlights preseason. Patrick mahomes you just you just hit it that on so But no if. I do that too long then. I can't fall asleep because i just go down a youtube rabbit hole of all of these great videos and highlight so for me. It's really about trying to shut my brain off and not think about that but to stop doing we get this call so i'm just accepting that i'm gonna lose a lot of sleep that's better than those google searches during the offseason. I've seen those in hoof. I thought i deleted those you follow. You got clear browsing history forever. man jay company drafts get left We got one draft. Actually it's a salary cap keeper league. keeps getting pushed back. So we're now drafting the wednesday before kickoff. So that's my final one. So what does that bring us for a total of leagues and how many leagues are you guys. Not counting best ball leagues not counting basketball leagues. We'll give us both does give us your best ball and just regular drafts i think of. I'm adding them up correctly. I am in sixty one leagues and fifty yuan. Sixty one fifty two other basketball. So i prefer to do the best part of fantasy football the drafting and just let the the software. Take care of the best ball.

Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Is No. 1 in NFL Network’s Top 100 Ranking

"Top ten players in the nfl as voted by their peers has been revealed in unsurprisingly. Patrick mahomes takes the top spot followed by aaron donald aaron rodgers derrick henry travis kelsey to round out the top five josh allen moved up seventy seven spots from last season to land at number ten. Okay you probably have noticed. There was one name. I did not mentioned in the top five because tom brady actually came in at number seven on the lip. Maxine brady have been tire. Yep yep the cliff is saying brady should add tire. I understand if you wanna stick. Aaron donald in there because arrand. Donald is a better defensive. Tackle than brady is a quarterback at this moment. However defensive tackles are so much less important than quarterbacks. It is impossible not to take that into consideration brady but if you wanna put donald ahead of get it. Ready should be third. Maybe fourth on this list.

"Thanks to patrick mahomes. And you know on a personal note You know this is the kind of person that i have found. Patrick mahomes to be early in me. Getting to know him a little bit and look everybody always says. Well you know mahomes. I don't know mahomes talk to three times a year. I mean that's not knowing somebody. But what i really appreciate about him is that i reached out to the To the franchise. When i was doing my replacement collins my guest columns this summer and i said listen. I'm gonna write about tarez paler and tarez paler for those of you. Don't know he was a football columnist for yahoo sports. Thirty seven years old He he is black and he's been a friend of mine. I'm not. I was not close to tarez but i was getting to know him more and more and this year on the day after the super bowl tarez paler died And so i- he's only. He was only thirty seven years old. So those losses felt obviously in the sports writing road but it's also felt where he lived in kansas city. Patrick mahomes new tarez paler. Well they had a great relationship. And i reached out to the chiefs. Would patrick be willing to write a short essay. Six or seven hundred words for the top of my column on tarez paler attribute collins tarez paler and basically trying to get people to donate money to a scholarship fund at tarez paler alma mater alma mater howard university. Which i thought was so important for very single reason. I started covering the nfl. Nineteen eighty-four. i'd go into a press box. I mean there might be one hundred and fifty people in that press box. Maybe three of them were black. And now i go into a press box. And if i go into a press box with two hundred and fifty people and i'm generalizing maybe thirty or black so progress is being made. But it's still not nearly enough. And so i wanted to make sure that people understood that and i asked patrick mahomes. He agreed to do it and he did it very very well. And i really wanted him to address that aspect of it the fact that we need to see more black reporters covering the nfl. And that's one of the reasons why he wrote this piece for my column and why. He is such a big advocate for the scholarship fund. At howard tarez paler. He wants another generation of sports writers. Who don't look like me to be able to find homes covering the national football league and quite honestly to just be writing about anything leaving college these days because journalism is so important anyway. My thanks to patrick mahomes. You should know that and you should know that. hey look. It didn't take three days to do this but he took time out of his off season to do that. And i am appreciative. So let's go on to my conversation. It chargers training camp last week with the rising star quarterback the los angeles chargers just in herber question. I wanted to ask you for months. Is week two of the season last year. You're standing there. You're backing up. Tyrod taylor and all of a sudden you're told you're in you've never played a live snap in the nfl in your life and now you're having to go out and play against the kansas city chiefs. Can you take me back to that moment in. Describe what it was like and then what you're thinking going on the field at that moment. Of course. I think it's one of those moments that you know i. I've looked to my entire life and being able to go out there and play football in the national football league against the reigning. Super bowl champs. I i don't think it's much better than that and As quickly as it happened. You didn't have to worry about anything you just go. How quickly did it happen. It was maybe maybe fifteen to twenty seconds kickoff and You didn't have to worry about it. as coach anthony lynn. So he comes up to he goes. You're in and i didn't have my helmet so i had to go get my helmet. Did you ask them why. No i just said all right and because we're about to receive the kickoff and i needed to get the plan you you'd get my helmet and there was things that needed to happen really quickly so i i had to run over there and get it but Fun though and then when you went out to the huddle did anybody say anything to you like. Hey kid what are you doing here. I don't think any of them. New hunter henry for the first time when he saw me out there he he almost said you know. What are you doing here. And i just said you know what run play. We're gonna run the plane and hand it off and we're going to get five yards so that's kind of how it went down but It was it was kind of funny. There did anybody on the defense. Say anything to you at that moment. A couple of guys. It kind of started spread throughout the sideline. And i remember. Joey came up to joey. Bosa and slapping on the shoulder and said all right. It's time to go. it's up to you now. And i remember thinking like oh it's my turn you know i get to go out there and play football and To have the support of those guys out there made it a lot easier and then did anybody on the chiefs. Say anything to you when you came up to the line no It was it was really quite and especially with fans out there. Either it was kind of a weird introduction to the nfl but It's funny the way it worked out..

"Wanna win. They want to win super bowls. I mean that's what you wanna do in this profession that he felt like it's not being done you're trying to do whatever you can to get there and having Coach read having breadth each and knowing the commitment they have for this organization and to win. That would allow me to sign the contract. That i did is. I knew that those guys were going to be around. I talked to him before that. And i know they don't surround me with great players and a chance to win every single season and we hold each other accountable and we go out there and we try to do whatever we can to win every single week. And that's why. I think that we have this relationship that we have one of the things that i think is need about your relationship with with andy. Reid is that you suggest plays that. He ends up calling in the game. I mean what play if you can think of one really sticks out that you said he coach. What about doing this. And then you you thought about it and went through the process and he ended up using it. I think i mean there's a couple. I'm the one that sticks out to me was remember early in the season. We had that that play against the chargers. Retiree kind of ran. Like a triple move and not through out. To right and threw a touchdown. It actually went off route that we iran against the chargers in the year prior where he'd run a double moving they'd covered it really well and i kind of want the country and i was like you tom to let him do three moves. And obviously you have a guy like tyree without outfits block and really well and you've got to be able to stretch it out but it's stuff like that. It's i will get stuff that we do in the game and games are even stuff to alex did when he was here and i say you think we could do it this way or that way and he has no hesitation on trying it. I think that's been the biggest thing we there's some of that we run. That don't work at all that we don't talk about but he he always give me a chance to try because he feels like if i believe in it i can make it work to other things. I'm curious about i. Always liked has quarterbacks in training camp. What did you do this off. Season to be a better football player. I think the biggest thing that i've done Obviously you look back to the way you play. But i look at other guys around the league And i see how they've had success especially guys like drew brees. Tom brady Aaron rodgers the guys. I've been doing it for a long time and ucla over their career. You see how it kind of starts off. And it's kind of a lot of talent and just kind of trying to figure out how to make it work i'm as they kinda matured to their primes. It's that connection of talent and being able to know the position. I think that's what i'm trying to do. Is i think. I've done a good job of learning every single year but i wanna be able to make it easier on the field by just knowing the position and i think that's somewhere i can continue to take steps forward And then other than that just physically trying to make sure. I stay in shape again. I'm not gonna say. I'm old yet. But i'm getting older my career. I can't just go eat fast. Food all the time out to eat healthy hardest shift on all that different type stuff Bodies in the best physical shape possible. Tom brady nineteen years older than you are. And he's gonna play football this year and they've got a good chance to win a lot of games as do you. Could you see yourself playing football at age forty four. I mean i want to. I know it's gonna be hard But i think what the the way people take care of their bodies Is important and if you take care of your body and stay healthy which is hard to do in this but you stay healthy. I feel like my my want to. My motivation will always be there So i'll go out there and there's body holds up. I'll play as long as they. Let me len with this. When you think back on the super bowl and how it can feed you motivate you coming into this year. Is that true or is that just sports media nonsense. I think there's a little bit of it. I think the sports media kind of amplifies sometimes to make it a bigger thing than it is. But i think one thing that you take how we got beat in the super bowl is i think everybody will know that we can't come in with this kind of his lackluster attitude. Like we're just gonna win every single game At tom's last year we would have to battle at the end of the games to win games. And it's because we didn't start or we didn't continue to put on the pressure that we need to do in order to win in this league and so to kind of get beat like that and on the stage like that. I think you'll have guys ready to go every single game knowing that any single week in this league anyone can get by anybody. Patrick mahomes have great year..

"So you also bought a partial stake in the local pro soccer team sporting kansas city. Why have you bought a stake in both the royals and kansas city. Yeah i mean. I think it's kind of a longtime vision for my future obviously being in kansas city being in this community and seeing the people that we have here. I know that. I'm gonna be for a very long time. And i love for for other sports as well and i love baseball. My dad My fiancee brittany played soccer professionally overseas. So i've developed a love for watching soccer and to see those people in those organizations and how they ran I get the look in on it at an early age And i know once. Football's over i'll still be in sports somehow and so what better way than looking through other organizations that have had success in this area are then comey give me a little insight into it. You really want an nba team in kansas city. Don't you oh. I do big time and We have the infrastructure. We have the the fan base. If you look at lawrence and how We support a the university of kansas. You know that we'd had the fans out there so it's just about trying to get a team here and we'll see if we can make it happen in the in the long run but i i'm excited for what we have now. Have you been active at all and trying to make that happen. I have a little bit. I've talked to some people and try to see what's the chances of getting a team here and it's a it's a long term vision. That hopefully will happen over time. But i mean. I love watching basketball. I'll i'll watch the mavs lot being from texas luca don-shik and all those guys go to work. And i think kansas city it'd be a great place for team. Want to ask you something about the super bowl. After the super bowl i looked up the stats and you were hit or significantly pressured. Twenty nine times in that game which is a super bowl record. No quarterback was ever abused that much in a super bowl which was natural. You had a lot of guys out on the line. It was a makeshift line. And yet knowing you you're still probably really angry about the way the offense played and about how many points you produced in that game. How do you look back on that day. Yeah i think you look back on that day and you have to learn from it. I think the biggest thing when you beat like that By obviously a really good. Football team You have to look back on that and see that you can't come not one hundred percent ready to play every single day and we had injuries here and there but everyone has injuries at their time of year for us to not go out there and be able to even the end zone at all It's something that will haunt me for the rest of my career but You learn you get better from it and try to make sure you're ready to go and whenever you get another chance at you don't Go out and show out like he did that time. How physically healthy were you that day with your foot. The injury to your foot. Yeah i mean it was hurt But i mean it was hurt kind of throughout the entire playoffs. I knew to have surgery after the season. knew that wouldn't be right after the season as quickly as possible and it will be a rehab process of a couple of months And so to me. At that point there was nothing that was gonna hold me back from being on that football field And i feel like if i could if i could have played better earlier in the game and might have kinda lessen the pressure that we got throughout the entire game and so it kinda. That's football works if you don't come out ready to play You can get your tell wolf anywhere so in the time after the game you have surgery. What is the status of your tone. Your foot right now. Yeah it feels good now. I mean this is the best. It's felt since since the play right before the playoffs last year I've been able to go out here have had taken any days off at it. Haven't had to take any plays off whereas in the spring a little bit. Not as when i was doing some of the sprint outs. We kinda let chad to go in and do that type of stuff so being able to do that. And take the constant pressure of every single day running and being on that and not having any setbacks We're in a good spot that hopefully we can keep building and keeping better by even season when you look at your offensive line now. The one that you're practicing with right now what do you think. Is it a work in progress. And what's the chemistry like there. I think that's been the biggest soup i wanna say. Surprised but really surprised for me is the chemistry that they built so quickly. When you have a lot of new guys. I mean in that whole entire offense align room and then without starting five a lot of new guys on that on that group to see them kind of come together. They're hanging out there having dinners. They're eating with each other every single time. We're out. I'm out here at the lunchroom here And they've become best friends So they've already started to build that chemistry. Obviously there'll be bumps here and there where they're learning how we do things here compared to where they were at But you see that fight and that passionate they had for this game. And i think that's gonna that's already really good so he can get even better as the season goes on. Is you've watched the nfl this off season. There's been a bunch of drama with quarterbacks with russell wilson with aaron rodgers and i sort of look at you and i'm sure i mean you're a lot earlier in your career than those guys are but when you look at your place with this team you relationship with andy reid. The coach and bread beach. The general manager seems almost golden. What is your relationship with those guys like. And why has it turned out to be so good. I think the biggest thing is. I mean they just they really want to win and so do i. I think whenever you're looking around the league every guy that's that's kind of had some stuff happen this off season..

"Practice day with the buffalo bills in the dog days of training camp it was a hot one But that's what training camp is all about. And you the couple of things. That i'm gonna talk about with training camp this year and with what has been happening around the league is i think there's this great mystery this great cloud because of covert and what's going to happen or what isn't going to happen much of it. Basically has been centered around the buffalo bills. Everybody thinks that they could be distracted by it. I'm gonna talk about that a little bit. And i'm also going to be talking about the kansas city chiefs and what i saw on my trip to chiefs training camp. But we're also going to have to very good guests this week. Patrick mahomes the former super bowl and league. Mvp heading into another season after he tells me basically that lost the super to the bucks in the super bowl. There's a good chance that it's going to haunt me for the rest of my time in the nfl and then we'll hear from just in her. I talked to him on my trip to orange county where the chargers are having training camp. So we'll get to those interviews but a couple of things. I want to talk about at the top. You know the first one. And i don't want to harp on this and every podcast but i think it's you know the quarterback of the baltimore ravens. Lamar jackson came back to training camp this week in one of the things he said when asked about. Will you get the vaccine. You've tested positive now. Twice for covert. Will you get the vaccine to try to get some insurance against this weird and unpredictable disease and he said it's a personal decision and he didn't really wanna talk did talk about some but he didn't want to tell anybody whether he is or isn't going to get the vaccine and i just thought to myself you know if your quarterback in the nfl you might think it's a personal decision but is it really a personal decision. Because if lamar jackson test positive has symptoms. Let's say on a friday during the season this year. he's gonna have to miss two games. They have to sit out two games. So that's one eighth of a playoff contender season. So you might just say you might just say it's a personal decision and it's all up to me. None of your business. I mean i think it is our business. I just do and so i think that's one part of it but the other part of it i view it as encouraging that about ninety one percent of the players in the nfl right now have gotten at least one shot. They're on their way to be fully vaccinated. No one is going to say. Well that means cove. It's not going to be a big issue this year. It's going to be a big issue. At some point some star is gonna test positive have to miss a game or games because of getting covert and and so right now i think as we look at the way the situation is around the league i think most teams right now are looking at this. Is we've done everything we can. They might be saying well. We still have hope that we can convince guy xyz. But if you haven't gotten it by now. I don't see much a way that those numbers are going to move up there going to be six or seven guys. On average every team basically through training camp anyway are not going to be getting vaccinated. So that's that's one thing. The other thing in more football sense that i wanted to talk about before i bring you patrick mahomes and just in herbert. I wanted to talk about something. I saw in kansas city. You know i wrote about this a little bit in my column football morning in america this this week but you know you go to training camp and you look out and you and you just see okay. What's different here. What are we watching. And i looked out and all five offensive. Linemen were new. None of them started last year. only one of them lucas. Neang the Right tackle who may or may not win the job at. He's starting right now. Every single one of them was not other than lucas neang who opted out last year because a covert every one of them is new from last year. And i think what that tells me tells me two things. They really liked those players and they had a big need after. Patrick mahomes got ransacked in the super bowl. But the other thing is i think it's important when you think about the way the league is going right now. It's important that your quarterback be listened to that your quarterback be respected when it comes to the players on the team. And how the team reacts to that quarterback and i'll give you a perfect example in green bay. Aaron rodgers feels like the packers aren't paying attention is wishes is one of his receivers. Jake kuro right here in buffalo. Probably gonna make the roster and be the fifth or sixth wide receiver and rogers was ticked off when he wasn't there but he was asked ticked off that he wasn't asked for his opinion when they cut kuro. And and i think. Now when i i wrote about this this week when you see patrick mahomes respect for his coach. Andy reid his gm brit vh and brett visas. Respect obviously for homes. I think that should be the model that. Nfl teams use during a when dealing with their quarterbacks anymore. One other thing about kansas city. That was really interesting. I thought is that they are really built to be continuum. They are not built to say. Okay we're gonna win this year and maybe we're gonna. We're really going to go in heavy to win the next two years. If you look at the way this roster is plotted out and planned you see roster that is built to sort of go down the road with patrick mahomes as they bring in young players they bring in players who they think could be long-term hours with patrick mahomes case in point this year. Trey smith. Right guard Sixth-round pick the real reason. He was picked by the kansas city chiefs as that was her last picking the draft. Had they not picked him in the sixth round he would have signed somewhere else in free agency or maybe somebody else picks him in the seventh round but i find it so interesting that the chiefs have the kind of respect for mahomes and he has the respect for them. That is the way to build a team in twenty twenty one football. So let's get to patrick mahomes so i talked to in saint joseph missouri the other day. I think you'll enjoy his conversation for patrick many topics to discuss. But i've got to ask you first about your water burger franchises in kansas city. You're a texas guy. I know a lot of players from texas. Swear by what a burger like in and out guys are in california and everything like that. Tell me why you went. What a burger. Yeah well i mean. Obviously being from texas texas pride in waterbird is kind of at the forefront of that and I've always as a little kid. And then when i got older i babysit my brother. A waterbury literally down the street and we would always grab that and kind of have that. Well my mom was working. And so whenever i got the kansas city. I was the first time i'd really been out of texas. And they didn't have waterbird all the time and so i'm talking to some people we end up making it happen where we got a lot of locations out here and i'll have a little bit of texas here in kansas city. That's pretty cool..

"And patrick mahomes and now we continue on with tyronn matthew. I know that you've got a lot of contract questions that this past off season. I'm just curious when it comes to the kansas city chiefs organization. How much of a desire of yours is it to perhaps finish your career and kansas city. I know that you plan on playing probably another eight to ten years. Probably top of the list You know who's been everything i asked for. S for me. I feel like i can play football anywhere but when you develop relationships with certain people you know these people become audio life so co spags coast merit Goes goes ruben. Our strength codes. All these men important. It took me. So i can't see me. You know ever kind of walked away from from narrowness ship up into a lot in my life and So for me. I think you know. Holding onto certain relationships that kind of outweighs any monetary thing. You know any short feeling or emotion. I may be dealing with in a moment. Going to schaefer could make hay. Taryn you kinda fired. Back on bells criticism of andy reid. I was wondering spent almost a year in the locker room within. What what do you think he feels. That way. i'm not sure Novice feel like it was a great teammate. When he when he was here You know obviously you know things. Don't blow away you notice a performance base business center you know. It's a lot of things that determine our performance right. It's not just what we do on the football field Bound wishing and wishing him the best mobile get better for him but I mean this is probably one of the finest organizations. I've ever been a part of Bars a lot room Transparent honest and i think in this business land. That's really all you can ask for. Right is honesty. You know from coaches. Because they don't happen to us the truth you know so but i do feel like coast reading his staff. You there there. There are some of the best people coaches you know. I've been around Mcdowell a tyrant. You've always been one of the more approachable guys in the locker room. I'm wondering what you thought of this. Last year we've had to go virtual. What's it been like for you talking to us through zoom instead different You know. I mean i feel like i'm a transparent guy whether we're impersonal virtual but I think being a for people you know having people see you in person I think that kinda takes you along the way than you know. "The chiefs wrapped up their three day. Mandatory minicamp on thursday and after the fitness test. Put head coach. Andy reid quarterback patrick mahomes and safety and matthew up at the zoom podium. So on this podcast. We will go in that order. you'll hear from the head. Coach will continue on with the quarterback. And we'll finish up with safety tired matthew. The first step here is the head coach of the the chiefs. Andy reid law. Start off the snow injuries to talk about. We'll get to all that once. Get to camp and would enroll from there but for our way Dodgers first adam. Teicher good at a couple of things. I i wanted to get your thoughts on how this portion of the off season what you felt like you got out of otas minicamp. Brattle had a second question is well listen. I told the players said i fly appreciated their attendants During during this time. I will have a lot of new faces so it gave us a great introduction to the office depot special team so Which i thought was was huge for us. And then we'll go ahead and fine tune. Everything was we get up to once we get up to training camp but again. I thought it went. Well adam them. I liked the attitude of the guys that came and ready to work. And that's what they did. They finished up here with a little conditioning drill and they degrade on that so there. They've got a good mindset. As as coaches whipper shaker. Okay and one guy. I've been meaning to ask you about his jerick mckinnon on. What did you guys like about him. How do you see him fitting in to steamy. Give you something that your other backs. Don't give yeah so While he's experienced he's been he's been known that awhile and he does well he he's good. This was more passing camps more than running cash but he has a nice feel of the of the past game and look forward. I i look for to give given the whole package once we once we get up there and let's see we do What what was playing real football next to her. Gop got good morning coach. I very two questions your for your clothes. The first one's kind of follow up on what atom asks. You mentioned a appreciate the players phone. What is your comfort level at this stage heading into training camp when you compare it to last year when you have this portion of the offseason workout program on on these zoom calls as you know i mean can you can install. You can do all that that you talk about. Fundamentals and techniques. But you can't you can't work on and that's just blow it's real So The this gene opportunity actually run the play and work on the fundamentals and techniques and let the players the coaches evaluated evaluated their last season To sit there and help them better with with the again techniques finals it. They might be so. I think it's a win win. I think it's great to have the technology of at the same time. I think it's important that we were still able to get him on the field. And i said this before. I get support of the coaches hamlet. The right way and try to get the players to save as they possibly can that for us that means giving up the right lane game part of it. We did that versus air bags but we. We didn't do it against each other than that. That's what we do. You know so you gotta try to keep them safe as you possibly can include. Finally travis kills you on. Tuesday expressed surprise at some of the comments. That levy on bell me. Are you aware of what was your reaction to that. I really enjoyed my time with a beer so I appreciated the way it handled things and does business and has productive downs for us. And i'm pulling for him in the future. I mean that's how that's how rural people say things they say. Then so i move on. I wish him the best. you know. pete. Sweeney good morning coach. Just because we won't get you now for another month in change here. You'd said patrick mahomes was able to go full because it was a passing salad camp. How much is your expectation with. The dachshund stuff that he's going to be able to be one hundred percent when you running stuff quarterback scrambles out of structure. When you get to camp. That i mean we were. We were cautious with them. He he'll he'll do anything. And so you know it's just a matter that we were. We were smart to be as far as we possibly could with. It and his communication was great. He kept it open with us and we checked with them and make sure and see how he was doing during practices. And not just the first day but you wanna check on third day too so To see how and he made it through thick. This is good for him We'll see how he feels. Once we get up to camp. He sure got a lot of work. Done here came out film. Forget next a man mullet goodman coach clyde yesterday and he said at one area to prove this offseason passing game as a receiver. How much coach you appreciate it. When a young player comes with a specific thing they want to work on yeah. I think that's good. You know we. We didn't have a huge expanded role for him in the past game. Just kinda Swing of the defenses at the. Nfl plays in all but run plays that we have the rows away. Didn't have the time everybody but we've tried to give them a little bit more this offseason and he's handled it well before to get him of training camp where we can keep on in.

"Coach we appreciate you taking the time today. Thank you for joining us. Listen I appreciate you guys to listen. I hate talking that much, but. I think it's important I. Appreciate you guys, even listen. Thank you back here on Arrowhead prides from the podium you just heard from chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Now that we've gotten through, that will turn it over to quarterback Patrick. Mahomes with your platform. Just the saddest that you hold is one of the faces of the NFL right now. Just how have you worked through the challenge of standing the scope of all the different things that are happening right now in ways that people could help while figuring out for you specifically how you want to help in how you want to push forward in China may change. Yeah. I think I. Think the biggest thing that I. I've done is just lean on people that I respect that. I believed on it the right way and I I've been lucky enough to grow up with a lot of great role models around me, and just trying to find listen to them as a as they talked to me and then other people around the league. Right way, listen to the advice. They give me and then trying to make the best informed decision as far as What I do in the next day I. Take the move forward, because like you said I've been given this platform and I wanna make sure I can do whatever I can make. Make the world a better place in whichever way that is. Going to see him Nolan's, you're going. Hey Patrick thanks for the time did A. can you name names on the? Adams has fallen on your answer there to Bj. Can you like who who specifically did you talk to that? You respect in is something you plan on doing more of going forward. Yeah I, mean. everybody's a lot of I mean obviously. I talked to those guys in the video Michael. Thomas I've talked to my Godfather Letroy Hawkins Talk to my father and then I've talked to talk to coaches and and people that I respect coach. Read in religious got as much information as I possibly can in their several others of people I talk to. That I get advice from every single day and I try to do that as I make any decision and and do whatever it is that I end up doing. What them. You're doing while today of understanding it. There's a lot of voices and a lot of players involved in this in this player movement right now, but none of them are you and they're not another quite accomplished. Your Age which you've accomplished in your career. Are you aware of what kind of weight? Plans to to the calls here. Yeah, I'm definitely aware I'm aware of everything aware of my surroundings I'm aware of of coming off a super bowl championship, and being being the quarterback of a super bowl, winning team, but I I've always believed in an people and I've always believed in when people do things together and do things for the right reasons and have a good heart when they do things, get done in changes change happens, and so that's always I've grown up. I got I got kind of said in my statement, a locker rooms, seeing how people come together and strive to certain goal into to. Do things and I believe that if people had the right intentions have the right heart, Tommy, go the and really sex the world and it make it a better place. Go to Harold Koontz go at Harold. And got us. We got. Yup We got a good. Good yet all I met well. Hey, I want to ask you going further with this message that you sit. What kind of be your message to somebody? Young people look up to you now that you're in a position where you're looked at as a MVP a champion. What's your message? The young people that have to do it. Some of these things would racial inequality. Inequality and maybe their dealings with police something through your past at you may have gone through that was dealt with in a racially motivated away. What's your message to them that? Look the to say. Hey. I'm going to get through this and I'm going to try to make myself better. See How your green people together to come back can make better place. I would say to do the same thing that I that. I've done a montage. Life matters to talk to the people that have taught them. Their values have talked them the right way to do things and. Listen to them because they've had those experiences in I'm a twenty twenty four years old, so I I'm maturing learning things as I go. But I've learned a lot from people like my dad. Literally Hawkins and coach Read and learned that that there's ways to handle things in order to get your point across into end to respect people, and and do the right thing but you have to to learn in had your own experiences to do that, and so just taking as much information as you can make the best informed decision that you believe you can make Anna tried to whatever you can to make the world, a better place and every action that you take. Go to Bob. VESCO GO AHEAD BOB. Patrick, you've Kinda gone from the leader of a franchise winning Super Bowl to now basically the leader of the face of the national football league. How do you view your responsibilities now as the face in the leader of the entire lake? Yeah, I mean to me. It's always been about just being the best person and the best teammate, and and the best friend that I can be with whoever interact with That's what I was taught at a young age when my mom and then for my dad, and and from everybody around me is treat people the right way, and usually, and usually you get treated the same, and if it doesn't. Doesn't happen. Keep your head up high and head. Hell Hi just go out there and beat the best person you can be in every instance if that's on the on the That's a listening to one of your best friends. Talk about their feelings, or whatever it is just be the best best role model, the best person that you can be and all the other things will handle itself. It's GonNa Steve, Walsh and Steve. Steve Can you hear me Y'all? Can we ask you? Patrick. Guys in the League have said that they wish they had done. Things differently in supported Colin Kaepernick but they were scared to do so at the time just because of. Fans ownership just monsters, and so forth I locked up. For a second. Can you hear me? I can hear you again. Hey, a lot lotta guys in the League have said they. They wished they would have done things differently in supported Colin, Kaepernick, they were scared to do so at the time because of how that would be you by fans, ownership, potential sponsors, and so forth leading up to your statement that you may be a social media, and also the black lives matter it matters video Did you have a concern of any possible backlash that you know fans of said, and have you seen anything a both positive and negative? Yeah I mean I. Feel ever decision that you make. There's going to be positive. Negatives in that's that is the world that we live in today, but I believe in both of my statement in the video that I made that it that stuff needed to be said we needed to come together as as a group as players in show that we believe that black lives matter in that that we believe that this needs to be informed that we need to be the role models go out there and take that step and obviously It was great. The founder support that we've gotten from the chiefs for me. from country lead from Clark Mark Donovan. Talked to Roger Goodell and he and he is shown his support to us but it's. It's something where. I'm always going to be informed. Decision. Understand that there's GONNA. Be Good good and there's going to be bad but if I believe something and I truly believe it. I'M GONNA I'M GONNA, might country says let my personality show, and I'M GONNA to stand behind my words and I'm GonNa. "I will give you. He's the most gifted thrower in today's game gang. I will give you. He has the most potential of any quarterback playing today. And I will give you. He is being being absurdly over. Hyped right now to. The point is dangerously over hyped to the point I feel sorry for Patrick Mahomes. This is turning into Patrick. Mahomes Week here in Miami. This is like a seven day. Coronation of Patrick Mahomes. I'm already hearing Patrick Jordan. As is in Michael Jordan and I'm wondering he's one what nothing he's one nothing there or maybe a day when Patrick mahomes will out Jordan Jordan. He'll win seven super bowl with seven. MVP's Jordan obviously six and sit. There may come a day when Patrick mahomes out. Brady's Brady and he wins. Seven super bowls with seven fourth. Quarter game winning drives Brady six and six but right now. I'm looking at a team that got a lot of breaks to be in the position you just talked about. It's a great position to be in there. What now point and a half favourite in this game I give you that you WanNa talk about a lot of meant to be break so far because I'm going to remind you again the division that you played in for so long that AFC west it featured broncos raiders who went seven and nine in the chargers one one of the biggest disappointments the mobile.

"One thousand three hundred stores or online at office depot dot COM em drive Amtrak dot com code. Her twenty percent off your first month. Refiner prime with 'em drive more lean muscle Jeff Schwartz and a couple of minutes. I think it's interesting. We're all talking about Joe Borough and to Greg Cosell was talking about borough and any sounds like I do which I think burrows a good candidate a nice prospect. I don't think he's over the top great so it. It's forty funny so Justin Herbert. We've forgot about him because the SEC dominates the South Dominates College football the NFL is not regionalized. You've got Silicon Valley this week. You had Seattle title yet. The Northeast and Philadelphia made the playoffs. You got the Mid West and Kansas City Green Bay. You got the south in Nashville in New Orleans. I mean the. NFL gives us all sorts of good teams all over the Country College College. Football does not ten of the eleven last National Championship Games. There's been a team from the SEC. West College football's regionalized and the SEC. There's three three hundred and forty. NFL players from the. It's the best conference easily. They won nine of eleven bowl games this year. But they don't give quarterbacks they don't the the best one in the league right now is Dak okay. There are more good quarterbacks in the NFL from cal the Seventh Best Program in the PAC twelve in the SEC. It it is not I know. We're talking burrow into Justin. Herbert this week worked out with TJ Huffman. Donahue was show yesterday. Herbert had thirty five touched. Thirty two touchdowns six picks sixty seven percent completion rate and remember. This is an Oregon with three star wide receivers. This is Oregon. This is not Lsu issue with Oh BJ's and Jarvis Landry so clemson. This is Oregon players. Justin Herbert was also much better than Joe Bill as a junior again with Oregon in players. So this is TJ yesterday talking about. Herbert six six to twenty with a rocket arm Eh. He's mobile animal man in a hall man. Unbelievable cannon big like he's so big great armed good touch like it was probably ran routes for about forty five minutes to one hour you did. I didn't I was out there watching working with the guys that I work when he they're running around his Oregon's quarterback Oregon's his quarterbacking guys getting ready for the draft in a way he's throwing. The ball is wow. It's unreal now this kid's got a cannon and he's he's B- I said he he looks like to me Trevor Lawrence although not quite as gifted not sure if he's got the Alpha not sure he's a four point biology major big strong but remember Carson. wentz is much better from North Dakota state than anybody in the SEC. Of the twelve quarterbacks who made the playoffs this year none were from the SEC. The Mountain West had a quarterback the had a couple of the pack twelve the Big Ten big twelve Ohio Valley Conference quarterback none from the SEC. I mean take the manning family out. They don't produce a lot of great quarterbacks they produce a lot of great athletes they produce. Boss Tiba was a bus jamarcus. Russell was the bus. Johnny Mandel was a bust. He Schuler was a boss boss. But it's funny about this. It's a big world out there for quarterbacks whereas the SEC is the best conference no question crashed in the Sec West is the best division no question the SEC dominates the Bulls no question the SEC's got the best fans. And the best TV ratings Blah Blah Blah check Tek Tek uh-huh. They don't develop the best quarterback. That's not what the conference is because a lot of quarterback don't want to go on the SEC. Because it's about defense and running games and the coaches star in the running running backs to star in the defensive lines bay so California's still produces and Texas still produce quarterbacks and Justin Herbert guy to keep keep your eye on another story that we need to address here is Kyrie Irving. Now there's a big difference if you look at the history of the NBA. Most most of your great players share a trait. They're not all tall and they're not all great shooters and they're not all strong and they're not all great defenders. What is the trait? That most franchise superstar A.. Plus players have mental antle discipline mental toughness. MJ Kobe Bird Magic. Lebron this is why I never understood. Kevin Durant choosing kyrie Irving steph curry mental toughness emotional discipline. He doesn't say stuff like the world is flat APP yesterday. Kyrie irving came out and talked about all the needs. The Brooklyn Nets have a need here. It it is transparent is out there you know is glaring in terms of the pieces that we need in order for us to be at that next level collectively feel like we have great pieces but obviously the it's pretty glaring. We need one more piece or two more pieces that will complement myself. Katie DJ GT Spence Karasin. We'll see how that evolves yes. It's not the end of the world but generally you don't WanNa call out who you think are really important pieces in who are not really important pieces by the way. The Nets are five and nine nine when Kyrie's on the floor. They're better five hundred when he's not in the Boston. Celtics are now significantly. Better since Kyrie. Are- Irving left Kyri irving is a flake. He's an artist. He's gifted he's special. But you can't build your a franchise around him and he's not a great teammate. And he doesn't help teams win. I don't know why we argue about this stuff. When I saw Cari Irvine get hurt in Brooklyn I was like of course I got her? He gets hurt everywhere when I saw kyrie irving meltdown earlier this year and say things. That weren't cool. I'm like well. Of course that's what he's done his whole career. He's a bad decision maker. That doesn't mean he's not a great basketball player doesn't mean he's not one of the great artists and the great closers. He's all those things but if you look at the history of the NBA The people that you build a franchise around. Tim Duncan Akeem. Dwayne Wade Lebron Magic Bird. Kobe West they all. We'll have the exact same strength. They're very strong emotionally. They are grownups. They're disciplined they're not artists they're businesspeople businesspeople. The understand the locker room in the temperature and I just think it's crazy that Kevin Durant had the opportunity to play with staff so how easy it was. And then he chose a guy that bailed on the brawn and bailed on Brad Stevens and both flourished without him and he has not so. You know. It's funny when I see these stories on Kyrie Irving people are like. Can you believe what he said. Well of course I can. He bailed on the Braun. He bailed on a coach. Brad Stevens. WHO's been good with every point? Guard Kemba Walker tearing it up course Brad Stevens so oh. I've never been a Cairo guy. I think it's incredibly problematic in poor judgment for Katie to leave Steph and Kerr and a great roster to Brooklyn Brooklyn I know. NBA Player empowerment. I get it but quarterbacks don't leave teams with good coaches. She's good offensive linemen and good receivers. They don't that'd be stupid. Maybe Patrick Mahomes Gourd to leave tyreek Hill and Travis Kelsey and Andy Read. It'd be doing. I don't understand that Kevin Durant smart guy. Apparently very aware watches kyri really. Lebron watches him bail and says yeah. That's what I want to go play with. I don't get sometimes. You GotTa get out of your own way and what's happening inning with Brooklyn. This year is exactly what I thought would happen. which is these guys? Even chose the second most important franchise in New York Basketball Bowl. Why wouldn't you just choose the Knicks over Brooklyn while the owner? What the owner in Brooklyn's amazing young the NBA's funny is that I'm four player empowerment? Our I always have been I support. Katie when he leaves I support Lebron when he bounces around. I GET IT I. I've moved around. I'd be a total hypocrite to not support players moving around but I do not support any player leaving a good situation to go to less of a situation. The warriors have one of the best owners. One of the best coaches one of the best superstars and I think Kevin Durant is going to regret it for years that he chose injury prone and emotionally inconsistent. Kyrie Irving I thought it was a huge branding mistake and a huge mistake. And you're seeing it and this team last year. Remember Brooklyn the story on Brooklyn was you know. I didn't sit and watch a bunch of Brooklyn Games but the whole story was the chemistry is good. The hungers good the dudes like like each other and they snuck into the playoffs and that was kind of the story of the team. It's toast now literally. They're worse when he's on the floor so don't confuse it's not anti Kyri. He's really talented. He's Westbrook I mean I'm not John Wall Derrick rose. I'm not Zach Levine. I'm not denying the town that stopped the question. But that doesn't mean exact. Levine's fun to play would westbrook's having his worst year Bradley. Beal never feels these elevated with John Wall and I don't think anybody I don't think I remains anybody better. I think Kyri makes Kyrie you better but this year the natural thirteen and three one. He doesn't dress. They've lost twice as many games as they won when he does. What does that tell you? And by the way last night. It coming off a minus twenty nine plus minus of minus twenty nine. He said that comment do your. The problem is team made the playoffs without you there. Five hundred without you your the issue never ends with Kyrie. We'll give you more updates. Jeff Schwartz get him hooked up next hour. Jeff officials stopped by as well L. and four great teams left in the NFL. Each one of these Games is a movie poster for potential Super Bowls. which ones do we like? and which ones ones don't we like. That's coming up. Penguins and Bruins in today's discover card key matchup discover matches all the cash. Back you earn your first year automatically no limit which is awesome.

"Just a special athlete in. Here's my thing is when I watched. San Francisco's defensive line. I said this the eighty five bears. It was just this velocity losses where they were winning individual match ups and collectively. They were suffocating. I think we forget Greg. The niners star eight now then everybody gets hurt now so they're healthier again. In the middle of the season they lost both tackles there fullback George kibble they lost. They lost defensive Lineman when I look at their individual all defensive lineman on film. Do they just win battle after battle individually. They do that but they also are very good with stunts. And what you're going to see in this game. They will attack the right guard. Turner Billy Turner for the packers. They will attack him individually and with stunts he really struggles and what they do is they. They line up either Ford or both inside at times over the guard. We we saw Ford get a sack this past week where he'd beat left Guard L.. Flying for the Vikings so they they can win individually with some different fronts but they also are really good with stunts out of particular defensive fronts as well. So they're they're both good individually. The scheme was joking earlier. My kids were making fun of me the other day. I have an iphone six. And they're like oh it's so outdated and I said to my kids. What more does it need to do? I've got an alarm clock. Doc I have Greg Cosell's number I can make calls. I can get calls. I don't need it to make bagels and do my clothes right and I watched Jimmy Garoppolo. He's twenty one and five five and it used to be. That was good enough. He's good in the fourth quarter his passer ratings over one hundred in the fourth quarter and overtime. I like the kid. Maybe he's done a good fantasy. Football quarterback join. I were saying earlier. We put our arms around the entire niner organization. And we're everybody is like I don't know if I like Jimmy. G. By is telling me he's kind of it guy in big moments. What does the film say well? It guide big moments. That's always hard to know you know but Ah because then you have to look at the view individual plays but I think Garoppolo is a really strong timing rhythm player and they're not fence that's really built on that it's an offense that works the middle of the field where they predominantly throw the ball between the numbers so every once in a while he doesn't pick up and underneath defender under there are so many throws in the middle of the field so that happens every once in awhile and this past week it happened because a couple of times the linebackers didn't bite fight on the run action as much as the forty niners hoped. So that's something he'll work on. I mean you just made the point. He's only started twenty five games or something along those lines but but he's a really compact thrower I wouldn't say a great arm but he has a good arm within the short intermediate areas and they have a clear view of what they WanNa do offensively and that's what he does and by the way. I like how you point this out. As we watch that Viking defense they ask him to make throws in cluttered areas. They don't they do they. Don't ask him to throw stuff out into the flat. This is not an easy. You gotTa have the right quarterback to make some of these throws well it Scowl Shanahan. It has the best run past fusion in the League. So what happens is is he attacks linebackers. They're they're Kinda puts them in conflict with run and pass responsibilities so you're throwing throwing behind them so sometimes they may not react exactly right and then you're throwing to a linebacker who's sort of in the area and every once in a while he doesn't. There's an account for it to where he should and he'll throw a pick. Yeah all right. Let's go to our big play back to Patrick. MAHOMES who everybody in America loves who I want to make the Super Bowl. Nothing against Tennessee. But I'M NOT GONNA lie. I think the League would love to see Mahomes a lot of fun. And what's your play. Well this was early in the third quarter the Texans played a ton of man coverage and then they come out on the second intent and they're going to show man and play zone. Let's look at the play. I this was a forty eight yard pass to Sammy Watkins and like I said it was a case where they played zone but they tried to show a man look. And that's what you're going to see as we see mahomes in the gun the second and ten in the gun a lot to begin with and you can see the secondary right here. You see that Justin Reed is behind. Lonnie Johnson has has the look of what we call a one Robert Coverage which is a man coverage. And you can see there's Vernon Hargreaves who looks like a slot corner right now over the slot receiver so right now. Wow this clearly looks like man coverage but just as the balls getting ready to be snapped. What Hargreaves rotates back? They spin the coverage to what is cover over two. It's a zone concept you see to split feel safeties feel safety. There's Johnson he's what is now called the middle hold offender and cover too. He opened up to the three receivers side to the strength of the formation Watkins's on the weak side of the formation. And so now as I said it's covered to he's going to run in avoid between the safety and the corner. This is where you make throws against cover to the outside void behind the corner and outside the safety but mahomes just read this instantly and that's what I was talking about earlier. How impressive Mahomes is when he sees things because they had been playing man all game they showed Roadman pre snap? It was disguising late movement and yet he saw instantly. There was no hesitation in where he was going with football boy. That was one of the best ones you've had all year. That's a really really really good piece of video there. Greg Cosell my friend. Great talking to you and we after the season Nj we gotta we gotta meet and talk about some of these quarterbacks in college already started colonies. Alan is already. I know you have thanks man all right good stuff Kyrie irving last night did something. I would not strongly recommend the latest on O.. Will be Jay in the arrest warrant..

"That's constantly simmering every day. I said he was the best player. In football. I would say towards Jackson incorrect. And then here we are incorrect and what we have a very good game game and Patrick spots the other team. Twenty four point seven really have a significant drive to the last two minutes of the first half but that's like last year's AFC championship game where he didn't really play well to the second half as well So we've got that golden this game. He had four touchdown passes in the second quarter. I think that's the first half but off the chick my abacus. I think the the second one quarter to one of the first one was a six yard. Drive one was like a thirty five. You know those were nights and you do have arguably the best tight tight end in football as well as another really frightening him coach. WHO's better if he's not the best player in football? Who's better than I think that you could make a case? Ah Lamar Jackson throughout the course of the season was better than him. Who's better than him? I think that Aaron Rodgers is better than him at this point and we're we may have an opportunity community that we may have an opportunity to see that plowed and the reason. I say that isn't just to give you a hard time. Although that's part of it. It's effect Aaron. Aaron Rodgers has had a to overcome coaching to some degree. And and this isn't a shot and Matt Leflore but a rookie head. Coach is a lot of things that you don't know and there's a lot of mistakes that you do. You make an Aaron Rodgers throughout the core season. I think he's done a great job of putting that team in a position to win when maybe there would have been some challenges with a less less experienced guy like Patrick mahomes. I think he definitely definitely. So he's the best in the game you know. Just pose feel the throws he may. He didn't come out and have have any flaws as game. He didn't have no sluggish early. Like you alluded to nick. He hit Kelsey in the hands here. Robertson and the hands and although he does have a great signal call in Andy Reid with him his decision making is impeccable. He always goes to the right guy on every route. And just to the composure. He has gone to Kelsey. You know the whole second second quarter. He didn't come off he no he had a mismatch and he was gonNA feed that mismatch all game so here decision making all the throws he can make in the pocket Romeo Canal blitz is to get them outside of Pakistan Rodham he making great throws outside of pocket. There's going to be a lot of challenges that he's going to have to overcome that. Obviously he didn't have to overcome this past game and the last time they played played. What was it five vehicles? There's no questions left. There's none left. This was one of these single. I want to be very clear. I will look into the camera. This this was one of the single greatest playoff games. How could this be happening again? Travis Kelsey the best in football drops it tyree kill the one of the best speedsters in the League muffs upon everyone's terrified except for fifteen. WHO said guys they make a play to give us a spark? And I'll take care of the rest and McCall Hartman. Did his part and Daniel Sorensen his part and Travis Kelsey snapped into form and all of a sudden Patrick. Mahomes is hitting them here and here and they're keeping a foot behind the line of scrimmage having that awareness can keep it right by online scrimmage Travis Kelsey. We'll see there. He was perfect. There is nothing to be said about it other than Oh my God. How look? You're all of us that we get to watch him play for the next decade plus us. How lucky are all of us that the chiefs training staff relocated his KNEECAP on the field? So we didn't miss the rest of the season because this is what greatness is this. This is Brady coming back from twenty eight three down in the super bowl except that took Brady twenty-five minutes mahomes did it in nine to take the lead and then run away in the second half. That's that's what we all saw. Yesterday I used to think that skip bayless had the market cornered on love people but I think you might have position Zits new cell to love as hard as he.
