"<Silence> Is <Speech_Male> there <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> 15 <Speech_Male> the final 15 <Speech_Male> there? Yes, <SpeakerChange> 15. <Silence> Okay. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> how <Speech_Male> about we pick two? <Silence> <Silence> <Silence> <SpeakerChange> Jared <Speech_Male> Allen, Willie Anderson, <Speech_Male> rendez <Speech_Male> barber, Dwight <Speech_Male> freeney, Devin Hester, <Speech_Male> Tori holt, <Speech_Male> Andre Johnson, Albert <Speech_Male> Lewis, Darrell <Speech_Male> Revis Joe Thomas <Speech_Male> Zach Thomas, <Speech_Male> DeMarcus <Speech_Male> ware, Reggie <Speech_Male> Wayne Patrick Willis <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> Darren Woodson. <Silence> This <Speech_Male> is Darren Woodson's <Speech_Male> first time I think in <Speech_Male> the final 15. <Silence> You <Speech_Male> get two. <Speech_Male> Todd, take your <Silence> <Advertisement> two. <SpeakerChange> <Silence> I'm taking <Speech_Male> Dwight freeney <Speech_Male> and Zach Thomas. <Speech_Male> All right, see no <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> Connor. <Silence> <Advertisement> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> I'm taking <Speech_Male> Devin Hester <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> Darren Woodson. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Silence> Marvin? <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> I'm gonna take <Speech_Male> Reggie Wayne and <Speech_Male> Patrick Willis. <Speech_Male> Oh. <Silence> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> All right. Pauly? <Silence> <Silence> <Speech_Music_Male> <Silence> <Speech_Male> Torry holt. <Speech_Male> <Silence> <Advertisement> <Silence> <Advertisement> And <Speech_Male> oh man, <Speech_Male> Tory holt and Joe Thomas. <Speech_Male> Do you really think <Speech_Male> Tori holt? <Speech_Male> Yeah, <Speech_Male> yes, <Silence> because <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> he caught over 90 balls <Speech_Male> 8 times. <Speech_Male> Yeah, but I <Speech_Male> couldn't tell the difference <Speech_Male> between Isaac holt. <Silence> <Speech_Male> Isaac Bruce. <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> But <Speech_Male> I don't think that's fair to <Speech_Male> Tory holt because if they would <Speech_Male> have won one more Super Bowl, <Speech_Male> they become that dynasty <Speech_Male> and he gets <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> a pass and <Speech_Male> 920 catches <Speech_Male> 74 touchdowns. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Silence> <SpeakerChange> Devin <Speech_Male> has to, I didn't pick just <Speech_Male> because <Speech_Male> the amount of plays <Speech_Male> he played. He <SpeakerChange> is the greatest <Speech_Male> returner of all time, but <Speech_Male> I'll take a full <Speech_Male> time player over a <Silence> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Zach Thomas to <Speech_Male> me deserves to be <Speech_Male> in. <Speech_Male> <Silence> <SpeakerChange> I <Speech_Male> mean, you can make a case <Speech_Male> for all these guys. But <Speech_Male> this is his <Speech_Male> fourth time being <Speech_Male> a final 15 <Speech_Male> finalist. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Silence> <Speech_Male> I'm <Speech_Male> glad that <Speech_Male> Patrick Willis is <Speech_Male> getting some <Speech_Male> recognition <Silence> there. <Speech_Male> A great player <Speech_Male> didn't <Speech_Male> get the opportunity to <Speech_Male> play in <Speech_Male> that many big games, <Speech_Male> I don't think. <Silence> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Silence> <Speech_Male> I do Zach <Silence> <Speech_Male> Zach Thomas <Speech_Male> and darrelle Revis <Speech_Male> would be the two guys. <Speech_Male> I mean, Joe <Speech_Male> Thomas deserves to <Speech_Male> be in there as well, <Silence> but <Speech_Male> I hope Zach <Speech_Male> Thomas <Speech_Male> getting that <Speech_Male> opportunity. Yeah. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> I kind of took a look at <Speech_Male> Jared Allen's run <Speech_Male> again and <Speech_Male> started in Kansas <Speech_Male> City in Minnesota. <Speech_Male> 15 sacks <Speech_Male> 15 sacks, 15 <Speech_Male> sex, 11, 22, <Speech_Male> 12, <Speech_Male> 11. <Speech_Male> It's a 6 year monster <Speech_Male> run. <Silence> <SpeakerChange> Four all <Speech_Male> pros. <Speech_Male> Anybody had more sacks <Speech_Male> in a 6 year <Speech_Male> period. <Speech_Male> Than Jared <Speech_Male> Allen did. <SpeakerChange> Yes, <Speech_Male> somebody had <Speech_Male> mentioned this too, and I <Speech_Male> kind of see what <Speech_Male> they mean by it. There's <Speech_Male> a little bit of like a <Speech_Male> log jam with wide <Speech_Male> receivers getting into <Speech_Male> the Hall of Fame. That's a <Speech_Male> real problem position <Speech_Male> for the Hall of Fame. <Speech_Male> Well, because <Speech_Male> now you <Speech_Male> have to have a thousand <Speech_Male> catches. <Silence> I mean, <Speech_Male> we look <Speech_Male> back and we go, wait, <Speech_Male> how did Lynn swan <Silence> get in? <Speech_Male> Okay, it was <Speech_Male> just a different, <Speech_Male> it was <Speech_Male> different then, as far as <Speech_Male> the numbers go, but <Speech_Male> you're looking at <Speech_Male> Reggie Wayne. <SpeakerChange> It's tough to <Speech_Male> stand out as a wide <Speech_Male> receiver. <Speech_Male> Final hour coming up. <Silence> <Speech_Male> One more item we close <Speech_Male> out hour two. <Speech_Male> It's Stifel. <Speech_Male> They're there to help you. <Speech_Male> Well, what are they going <Speech_Male> to help me with, Dan? <Speech_Male> All right, hold <Speech_Male> on. We all have different <Speech_Male> ideas about <Speech_Male> success. We achieve it at <Speech_Male> different times in different <Speech_Male> ways.

"Right now is the other man in my life. There's no other way to put it, I don't think. But Marshall faulk joins us from an airport somewhere in the Midwest. Marshall, how are you? I'm doing good. I am doing good. I have to be home with you guys today. But I'm missing you, the chair is just so empty when you're not here. I know, I know, I know. Just duty called, I have to, I'm actually on my way back to St. Louis. So what's going on there, Marshall? When you make, when you make the call, you know what I'm saying? I come to ball. I know you do. And that's the first call I always make, what you got going on in St. Louis. Nothing just visiting friends, nothing special. But some old relationships back there obviously the fan base is still there. Pissed off, but yeah, I enjoy going back. What's your choice of snack in an airport Marshall? What do you buy? I actually, I try to get through the airport and not buy anything. Oh. That's a sleeper. I try to get through the airport. I try. I try to fall asleep on the plane and not eat the food. Because every time it's like probably about 5 years ago, I started to notice, I get up a plane and my hands are swollen, my feet are as well. I'm like, what is this? It's never used to happen to me. And then the doctor said, well, a lot of the food on the airplane and airport contains a lot of salt. It's like, oh, didn't think about that. So, you know, as you start getting older, you got to start worried about you thought intake and stuff like that. I have trouble going by the twizzlers. You know, like the big bag of twizzlers, that's like my kryptonite. Yeah, but you know once you open those, you gotta eat them all. Yeah, you do. They're not like now, there's not, they're not like now later. You gotta eat them all. No, but and you don't want to get the flat ones 'cause those are too skinny. You gotta get the ones in the bag because they're fresher and they taste great. I'm trying to I'm trying to get through this connection with our body anything. What are you doing here? I'm sorry. What are you doing to me? What are you doing to me? Just I'm just trying to I'm just trying to I'm just trying to hold your hand. I'm just trying to take that time with you. You know, experience what you're going through there, Marshall. That's just how I roll. Marshall, we just heard from Sean mcvay talking about Matthew Stafford and what's happening with the rams right now. Do we think that this has become an issue? Do you think that Baker Mayfield is the future of the rams? What? Hey, listen, listen. I think what they did got baker to play. And let me say this, man. What baker did? I mean, we've seen quarterback who have been in systems, not be able to come into a game and function, let alone what he did. So kudos to him. But I think Matthew Stafford is the future of rams. And here's the thing. Let's not we don't want to compare him to Tom Brady in a sense of how long breeding play. But quarterbacks are playing longer. They're playing later into their careers. Now, I know, I know Matt Ryan is not making it look good. But quarterback, they get to play a little longer, and it'll be interesting to see what he does. That being, I understand the whole elbow thing and off season. I don't know if you guys forgot about that, but that was an issue. And we saw some balls lacking velocity early in the year. And I don't know if it was because he was on a pitch count or maybe he wasn't ready. I don't know. But the Matthew Stafford who guided this team last year to win a Super Bowl, I don't think he's done. I think there's still a lot left in the drink. Marshall faulk here on the rich eisen show. I guess when you hear spinal cord contusion back to back concussions, young kids, a ring, psychologically, does it ever occur to a player playing at the highest level, I think I have a decision to make? Yes. You know what's funny is we were just talking about this. A lot of the young players, they don't have to negotiate with a lot of the things that we negotiated with. I mean, they're making a lot of money. They're secure and. They're not thinking about being the greatest all time. They know that this game should end this is something that's going to change your family's trajectory. And if that's enough for you, then that's enough for you. When you go back to whether it's Patrick Willis deciding to walk away, who's the linebacker in Carolina? I mean, watching emotionally watching him walk away, guys are starting to walk away a lot early. The guys are starting to say, okay, that's it for me. I'm fine. And that's just that for he could very well be there. But here's what I say. You know, the quarterback position is a unique position. They should just have a red light on their elements when you touch them. It's a fact.

"Would coordinate it with a game, so it felt like I was kind of doing something. So I'll tell you from personal experience sometimes the game is a shield to your own kind of antisocial behavior. And that's the thing you gotta dig a little bit deeper on. But I would tell you it's a bad, bad habit to get into. I wish I didn't do it, but the job has gone okay. So I guess I could justify it. Kyle? So he's at places that don't have he's that like bars that don't have TVs and he's leaving to go to a bar that does have TVs. That's basically what he's saying here. Yeah, which is even worse. But again, I've done that too. I mean, I was at a wedding once, girlfriend, pretty serious, and I left and went to the reception bar before the reception started and watched the final four and had like ten cores lights with the bartenders. Actually doesn't sound bad to me. It sounds bad that you left something, but I had a fucking black one of the best weddings I've ever been to, but of course like typical me, I befriended the bartenders, didn't dance once. And there was a game on or not. I don't see you out there on the dance floor either way. No, it's about a hundred cores light shy of that. But you know, I had a blast and then by the time, you know, she came over and was like, do you know the other part of the reception was over there? And at that point, I was like, I kind of want to go out tonight, you know? So we did a popping at the reception and then we went out and the rest is history. So yeah, I know for a fact that girls definitely don't like that and as a guy who doesn't talk about sports for a living. I can't convince her that I do. The first when I first met her, was like, I'm going to have to see these. I'm going to have to watch these football games. But now she knows. But basically, you're going to have to come up with your teams, and that's going to have to be enough for you when you have good girls around. It's got to be your teams that matter. It's got to be a couple games a week. It can't be all the games all the time. I agree with you. A couple things. One, can you just pull out his phone? Like, I don't know why. Yeah, get the stuff. Yeah, get YouTube TV or whatever sling, whatever thing you have, and you can just kind of watch it on the go if it's a close game, then you can keep tabs on it and if not, then you don't even have to watch it. So then you don't really have to make a move anywhere. Get into radio, maybe sports radio. You're a fucking Secret Service. Just toggle between all the games. Sketchy as hell. But I remember my freshman year of college, I did not. I skipped out on the entire spring weekend to watch the 2007 NFL Draft. And that was three days. And at the time, I was like, oh, I'm awesome. This is sick. I'm super into this. And I look back like few years later, I'm just like, that was the dumbest thing I missed out on all this fucking cool shit there in the day. There's like free drinks, blow up tents everywhere, free t-shirts are being hanged out. I'm sitting there watching like Patrick Willis get drafted by the forty-niners. And I was like, that's a low for me. So I think, you know, pick and choose your spots, that's probably not it. If you don't have to watch like round three while you're out at the bar and NFL Draft or like a Knicks game or if they're down 20, pick and choose your spots. And I think the other thing too is sometimes maybe the excuses are worse, like if you're like, hey I have to go home because I'm like too drunk and you keep saying that over and over again. People are gonna be like this guy's kind of a disaster. And if you just say, hey, I want to watch this game. I don't think anybody's gonna judge you as much as the former. Yeah, I actually found that part of it kind of fascinating that you're rounding up how drunk you are to get out of something when you're actually not that trunk so you can go watch a game that you admittedly have no rooting interest in. Because your buddies must be like, man, you can never tell what he's drawn. He really holds it together. He knows when it dip, you know? He just bounced all the time. So we're not going to give you excuses. We're not going to tell you, hey, do this to keep getting away with it. We're going to tell you to start prioritizing it a little bit better because your rights are ready. I have, and I can sit there and say, well, wait, there was something going on because it was your career. So all three of us have more of a justification for doing it. But there are so many times where I felt like, oh no, I have to do this or I have to do that. You know, there's a couple of weddings that I wish I had gone to. And I did not go. Well, again, Kyle, we know you're wedding. Your wedding history. You weren't allowed to go to bills. So I understand he's just sort of a,.

"Unless you don't learn from him or get better from it coming up. Is tom brady ever going to retire. I'll tell you can play till he's fifty years old dale that's next on speaker. yes Tom brady was recently named the top player of all time by the athletic. But my all time. Top ten players list is amid two different barry. Sanders gets my talks followed by beyond sanders and my former bills to make great pops out the rest of my top ten this legit while other former teammate. Say out of lake. Greatest number four. Lt is on my list. But it's no dania thomason and aaron donald only current players who made Worcester biggest issue. None of my all time. Top ten players this marcellus. We don't have enough time. Where am i going to begin. I mean nowhere. I- i just don't first of all you know what my biggest issue were. When you first trotted this out. I was on the show. We pointed out the holes in it. And you still had an opportunity. You allow those interwebs to get a hold of it. There's twitter streets and they put it on you and you haven't backed off and said none of that was just off the top of my head but at least making make sense like i heard one thing about well. They were teammates okay. You didn't play with barry sanders so that doesn't apply there. Were they were all straight ballers. Okay if we're going straight. Bows you tell me that. You're not gonna have lawrence. Taylor ray lewis on that straight ballers like i would even go randy moss over terrel owens. If we're going to go straight baller at a particular position. So are we going winners. I dunno sanders. The only guy who's got a super bowl among all team helped me make it makes sense marcelo. That's my biggest issue here. I just don't know which way he will be going to. Please list subjective. And you know what i'm not even on the show off and i was on the show when he said this way. Let's say now y'all got something to say. This was funny. I remembered as i've said marcellus. Where ray you said. Oh god i left. I gotta go change this. My only gripe would be. Patrick willis over ray lewis. And you're saying dan marino's the best quarterback ever play basically those aaron. Donald is the best active player in the nfl because he has on. The list listing your eyes. But outside of that because this is very subjective. I'm not gonna complain. I actually liked to go. It's it would take him. i like him. I would take him over moss. The that was in minnesota absolutely not moss entire career. I'm taking oh thank you. Thank you thank you okay. Let me justify this. First of all. I played against barry sanders boy stop. That is the best pure football player. I've ever seen on a football field. Just simple right next to him. No diaz saturdays because dion sanders do it all he primetime no stats. Neither support them. Bruce smith is the all time sack leader. Y'all and he played into three or four run defense. Y'all need to showed up on that one number four. Do you say when satellite is satellite. Process stan to consensus dan and was tireless. So he's number four. John rando god jar rendall had one hundred and thirty seven in the half career sex nine three seasons with ten sex and the interior. Miss me with that teo. Y'all can't talk -til the best receiver ever because you know why. He didn't play with montana. Young or tom brady like randy. Moss did so not trying to hear. T- okay run every ralph. Now we can start talking. Y'all because i got a little hype ahead of myself and that's real exist a pure beast however this is where i got to insert some names. And y'all tell me how to play around with men and needs to be somewhere around here. Ray lewis need to be somewhere around here. Marshall faulk needs to get in there now from seven to ten. I'm listening but shaw gotta make some sense. If y'all gonna try to anybody marcellus you do though. Because i can't ever be mad at you. Got three or former teammates on. They gotta love your estimate because if you see list top ten thousand player list but they all my top ten respect to y'all because you know what i'm gonna put out a revised list that's actually insert the names at the bottom. Not the topic coming up. Winless against patrick. Mahomes his chief until you finally get a w. sunday. that's next. Don't speak for yourself. Also now eric jackson says sunday is not about him and patrick mahomes but the former. Mvp is three against hoses lamar kylie. I mean finally get the best. Patrick mahomes on sunday. No i don't expect it. Lavar was only half right. It's not about patrick mahomes. But is about lamar jackson. I'm a believer in that. He can become a pocket passer but man. He forgot about taking care of the ball. What the hell was he doing last week. That's what the hell are they doing. I gotta ask you marcellus. Your clippers opened a new arena or they had a ceremony and your voice all showed up. I'm not sure if they wanted to show up or they were told they had. You gotta tell me what's going on with my man george right there. They don't seem all that excited about the new arena zoo. Who even know who they are. That age right. That ain't i new albums. Came out why you can't get them. You got the most money in. The world of the thing is no athlete. Likes to go anywhere and leave their humble abode to break dirt on arena dangle beat air for another three years silly have a great weekend box bet. La is next and the mar. Doug win come on..

"Yet. We give all the accolades now. Because tom brady went to tampa bay and he won another super bowl now he gets all the accolades for all the super bowls. That were one in new england. And i think that's convenient convenient but i don't think it's accurate. Say that's the way it works eight marcelo so it was my record against new england you harvey donut and four donut man. But between the two of us we was terrible because you're one three against though so what he said. Hey that's one smile. What got brady at least you held down for one of us own here. I just looked at it like this week. Tom brady consistently consistently from start to finish. He's done three super bowl in twenty so when it's thirties to win his forties possibly three or four forty to nothing he's been consistently good and you guys said done this. You guys are the ones that put the quarterbacks on a pedestal. When i was playing the quarterback do well. He didn't have a lot of help when he did great. He was the best player in the world. Yes sir wait a minute. What was that word. You used you all you can understand consistently what consistently rate good say. He has been consistently good occasionally. Great consistently great. If we have answered this question you guys can't name a player that played in the national football league. That's accomplish more than tom brady. You just can't and we know that but we ain't trying to say that that's a different conversation and that's the problem between greatest and best his. Here's the answer greatest you give that away at the banquet because you got to measure everything that they did on the field but you also gotta measure into accolade and how it all added up best. Look we don't do that in stands as we we go to pop warner gays. Tj do what everybody does it. Who's been around the game before you go to a high school game literally game and literally sitting there and you're hearing every go baby johnny and you sit there and you'll hit choir. Like only what. He's do look like they something. The residues ain't got shot. Inhale right but you don't wanna bust any. Does that last weekend exactly. So i'm sitting there always like this. Some parents daring. Oh he's see out there number seven. And if i don't answer anything else number seven will do it. Seven eight the best number seven ain't going make you like the talent base conversation so when you talk about. My son's number is number seven. How did you know that i was there. So it's slick is so crazy. We're doing this right now. The evaluation when you say greatest is like you and all of y'all. What have you accomplished. What is best is focused. It is directly on you and let me drive this home with my top ten list. Tell me if you agree with me. Number ten best players ever aaron donald thang ding ding ding now. Ladainian thomason eight dan marino. Seven patrick willis six t o five john randall. Four three bruce smith to diaz sanders. Who's number one this see. If y'all know jerry rice man down here slick bess. Icee lewis. Lt oh live. Both of them off. Barry sanders best player. No doubt you thank you stay. Consistent teammates my boys despite losing to the bucks in super bowl fifty. Five patrick mahomes and the chiefs are the favorites to win super bowl six. According to fox fettes homes will likely be an mvp favourite as well along with chargers. Qb just the herbert in an afc west that looks to be more competitive issue. The new york post argues. It's super bowl or bus. For casey while they have homes and his prime so tj is back with us split. I'll start with you marcellus. Is it indeed super bowl or bust for the kansas city chiefs. No it's not super bowl. A bus lee. He's articles these publications man. They get bored before the game started happening for real because they gotta just write anything. Suv ruler bus. Last time i checked. They're one of the favorites this year. And did they win a super bowl last year so they come off a bus year last year and they still predicted to do it again. This year what they really want to say is this slick there. Why are you in your prime. Take advantage of these opportunities because you never know how long you're going to have these opportunities. Well let me tell you how long they have these opportunities as long as they got. Patrick behove patrick mahomes could be thirty five years old and if he's still patrick mahomes as tom brady is showing her age. Forty three forty four that they still can go out there and get it now. That may sound like a lot of hyperbole. you believe what i just said. Let me give it to you this way. After the age of twenty seven do you know john. Elway won two super bowls before he was twenty seven zero. Oh i thought it was super bowl of bus. What about kurt warner zero before as twenty-seven about after got one what about pain manning number four how about after two to breeze did he get one young. No did he get one after. Yes did air rod. No did he get one after. Yes here's the point. Y'all needed to stop with this. These quarterbacks like a john elway who was at the end of his career ran off back to backs. You look at tom brady. Who had to leave a home for twenty years that he helped build with six championships. First destination per-share super bowl championship at the age of forty three. Y'all stop as long as the beasts address them appropriately where resources and weapons and a little bit of a defense. He's always going to be in.

"You know maybe he doesn't make the fifty three man as a four. I would love to see him play his team. I will let him play his turf. Toe injury seems to be. Someone's going to hinder him career. We also patrick willis petro's retire because of it other guys have retired early because of because of turf toe. Hopefully we don't see a retirement quality. Hopefully we get to see him. Play for this scenario finance lease or walk off. I think at the end of your loan at the end of your finance term. You're looking for an upgrade for a new vehicle this trade scenario or you keep it and you find something else. That's kind of where we are with this. I don't think he qualifies for any of the three options. I agree with that. I hoped play this year. I don't know if it's gonna happen. Because if i had competency was in happen i think you'd be on the practice field already. So i have little competence. Considering he hasn't been out there in training camp He's not gonna play at all. Preseason he's start the season on the p 'less And then you have the rising sensation that we'll talk about later with talanoa longa. So you have that energy going on in the forty niners for an office there that they're gonna be thriving about you have Tehran wilson. Who's looking really really good. And then it turned out to be really really solid matchups in practice for george. Kettles well those two are happening. Good camp competing against each other. So you have two guys. Aaron that spot in ias. We'll see what ha clinton dix can do But if you come to a situation where wilson ward who fonda and clinton dix your safeties because tart can't get on the field or play at a healthy level. I think it's about time. I think it's about time. It's it's unfortunate. It's just super unfortunate Absolutely this next one is is a recent signing. But i think he played will saturday if you wanna go ahead and comment on anything. You've seen personally from watching the film on. Or i guess i can't say film because you don't have the coaches film access yet the vip access that you had to watch the passes from trae lance but the nickel corner was filled in on the first team defense by vw web. You're not financing him. Are you in a lesson for this year or ages in you know. Walk them off or do whatever you can look them. I'm just gonna walk off on this one. I think you walk off because the other guy on this list. They can play nickel east of k. One and you have damaged or allure. So i'm gonna walk off because he had better options at a different store and the different stores damadola.

"Let's compare the third years. Because that's where fred warner is played. fred warner. Last year had one hundred. Twenty five tackles two interceptions one sack if you go. Further into the things he had five tackles for a loss and seven quarterback which i think those are pretty important stats. Don't necessarily show up when you just look at the box score. Most of the time patrick willis had one hundred fifty two tackles so he had twenty seven tackles he had three interceptions so more interceptions he had four sacks more sex but also thirteen tackles for a loss and eleven quarterback hits thirteen tackles for loss as a linebacker. That's more than double what fred warner has. And i'm not trying. Put down fred warner. Because he's like. I said he's the best linebacker in the league. But stop with comparison to patrick willis. He is not patrick willis and it's unlikely he's ever going to achieve that level because there might only be two three. Maybe if you stretch it four linebackers in the history of the league that have achieved. The level patrick willis achieved. I agree. I like we have a weird thing. Now where if you're not the greatest in your position in the league or the greatest team straight like you're not great at all and that's just not the case but just to give people some perspective here. Fred warner made the all pro team last year. It was his first. All pro team. Patrick willis was the first team all pro in five of his first six seasons including his rookie year as a twenty two year. Old kid like no fred. Warner is not at. The level of patrick willis. And that's okay. That's during ray lewis rain to. He was first team all pro wall. Ray lewis is pretty much guaranteed a first-team team all pro spot like they don't says it all right there. Congratulations read patrick willis different level or a different level of club and that kind of dovetails into the the thing. I mentioned earlier the article from maiocco as we wrap up here. He had an interesting article about fred warner now that he has this deal. I'm just gonna read this from. Ao co this suggests the forty niners expect warner to continue to build his game. They expect him to fill in the gaps and provide more contributions in areas where the forty niners might be lacking he goes on to mention sacks he goes on to mention tackles for loss. And like you've been saying levin like there is another level of performance that fred warner can get to. That doesn't mean he's not really good now but he can get better. Do you think it's fair for mayo. Co and for fans to say to fred warner. We need more from you. We don't want five years of just where you are right now. You're the highest paid linebacker in the league. You gotta give even more than that. You had me until the in there. I don't think it's fair to say we don't want five years what you have been. Because five years of what he was last year everybody would sign up for that. I don't think that's quite fair to say but to say that. This deal indicates the niners think that he can continue to get even better and achieve a even higher level. I think that's one hundred percent fair. I don't think they would have gone five years or i don't think that they would have built the contract like i talked about earlier in the episode. I don't think they would have given themselves at three. You're out if they were one hundred percent satisfied that he's achieved all he. Could you know what i mean. I think they've built it in a way to where if doesn't get to that higher level they can look to see where they're at and maybe use that out even though. I think it's extremely extremely unlikely. There's a reason they put it in there but yet that speaks to what we're saying there's another level he can achieve. And that would be the level. Patrick willis played out for like five years to start it. I do think like you said that that this contract means that the floor for fred warner is what we saw last year. That's essentially what they're saying when you pay guys like this that has to be the case because it's it's the salary cap leak and so when you pay guys at the top of their position the mega-dollars they have to perform like studs like jerry. Jones always says it's okay to pay a premium as long as you get a premium in return. It's okay the niners have these high salary. Cap hits expensive dudes if they play like the elite players that they are paid to beat. So hopefully fred warner can keep it going. He's been one of the most durable forty niners since he's gotten their knock on wood or i was gonna say you'd better be gonna right now. Whatever i don't know whatever ritual wine need to do to keep him on the field he's been there consistently and this is a good day for forty nine dollars and forty niners fans don't tainted by trying to compare the patrick willis or knock fred warner down. Because he's not. Patrick will just enjoy enjoy and be happy fred. Warner's here now. Trae sermon is here. Knock on wood. Or whatever it is trey lance is going to be here soon. This is a good day. Just leave it at that people and to close this up the last thing. I'll say is the d'amico ryan's might be the person to unlock that. Last level for fred warner. Because i think he is going to be sent on which is more. We saw that a little bit last year but we saw the it was really effective when he was doing stunts. And that was without bozo and without de ford in the niners are going to have better pass rushing this year. so they're going to be even more effective blitzing. And there's been a lot of talk that ryan's wants to blitz more. And i think that that could elevate warner even more because you're gonna see a different side to what he can do. He's not gonna always drop the coverage even though clearly that's his best thing so he's going to be in coverage a lot but you could see some games were. Fred warner is getting a bunch of sex. Yeah i know that that d'amico rhines blitzing more has been a big talking. Point this off season the forty niners blitz at the eighth most rate or the eighth highest rate in the league last year. So it's not like they weren't blitzing last year only seven teams blitz more than san francisco last year. So i don't know how much more d'amico ryan's can blitz. I just think that it's going to get noticed more this year. Especially if if guys like bosa are back there then you feel like it'll get noticed more and talked about more but it's not like robert sala wasn't blitzing last year but think saleh's blitzes were a little different than would make orion's we'll do technically if you send one guy that's a blitz solid never really sent the house in order to me. He wasn't an aggressive blitzer did he blitz..

"There can be different pronunciations. Different words different pronunciation ideo route. Why is a wide receiver. Said to be running around. Because he's following a pre design very specific way to go. What are you doing when you're driving somewhere. And you're following a route you're following a predefined very specific way to go look. I don't make the rules all right but i follow. What am i mean. Let me tell you something when you pick up a book and you wanna see what's inside of it. What do you do read. Hulas pronounces read. When you wanna say that you did that to a book in the past tense. What do you say you. What the book. But that has a little different meaning spelled the same all the same letters just like route and route no because they literally have the same definition. Why is it called a route for a wide receiver. Because he's doing exactly what the word means is following a predetermined very specific set of directions. It's the same thing as you drive it in a car. It is the exact same definition. It's net pre in past tense. Like read in red. Is i think you're wrong. Not only that. I think you take the route two route ninety one or route ninety five so there. What do you think about that. I think you can stay in your little bubble of connecticut. Because i don't want to hear any of this. This is highly valuable like i said in our listeners. Luckily this is apparently something that they also care about. Because who doesn't care about these things. I feel like this is one of those topics like any time. Somebody brings up. How do you pronounce his one of these words. They can be pronounced couple of different ways and people are very passionate about the way. It should be pronounced these just one of these things. Every single english speaking person cares about. Yeah but then. I met you who pronounces words that i feel like we all agree on how they should be pronounced and you go your own way this one. I'm pretty sure we'll agree on because old boomers mispronounce it like my father but when you are cleaning your clothes what are you doing washing them instead of wash. Now that's not even a real thing or is worse. Yes it's very real. I think that's in the black household. Maybe but i don't know i've never see again. This is we all agree. It's wash and what happens. You give me worse. Yeah so. I do not say worse. But it is very much a regional thing to kinda the middle mid west kentucky indiana i think a little bit of illinois Some of ohio I'm not sure how far south goes because it is a little bit of a southern Dialect thing they kind of gotten heritage but yeah same with creek and creek. Should i've asked trae lance if he washes clothes and only minnesota. I'm in minnesota. Well they might because they pronounced plenty of words. That way like minnesota. Let's get back. Well let's try and put a ball on this episode. Is i feel like we've we've really run the gamut here of topics that the but the day is about fred warner. Congratulations fred. get that money. You deserve it. Two quick things one. You saw a thing on twitter about fred warner. That forty niners twitter's i feel like especially has a habit of falling into we can't just make the day like congrats fred. This is awesome. Good for the forty niners. Good for you. We gotta take one more step further and drove you crazy. Yeah the people out there saying fred wallner. On the level of patrick willis was even better. Just shut up. I'm sorry i'm going there with this one. I am so sick of this. People started saying it not even this past season. They started saying the previous year. That fred water is as good as patrick. No he is now. Here's the difference. Patrick willis was literally at his peak one of the very best linebackers of all time his peak level of play which he had for many years like four years in a row is a level that maybe nobody else has ever achieved at that position. You know it's literally level that can be argued as the highest level. Any middle linebacker has achieved. Obviously ray lewis as an argument there But that's the level he's achieved. Fred warner has achieved. He's currently the best that's it that's very very good. I shouldn't say that that's right to put it. But there's a huge difference between those two one is all time. Great one is currently greet. That's a massive massive difference like derrick. Henry is currently the best runner of the football in the league is not the all time. Greatest runner of the football league. And nobody would say he's up there with the walter payton's and barry sanders in nfl history in terms of running the ball and that's the difference between these two and like the eyeball test should be enough because the eyeball test shows it to but if you weren't around because we do have some younger fans out there didn't really see patrick willis de top. You can even just look at the statistics. Patrick willis had one hundred. Seventy four combined tackles is rookie season. One hundred and seventy four fred. Water had a career high twenty five last year. Had patrick willis said almost one hundred and fifty percent be mount tackles but he also had more interceptions is more sacks and it goes for the night if you just want to.

"Of his career and the reading goals. Okay fine i. I won't get his goal jacket fitted yet. But he's on. he's on on surgery. I mean the flame or year going to the rain. Yeah definitely. I would think that Got three three three to four three to four more years at this level and maybe a championship and yeah i into the nine. Yeah i him. Going into the edward j vargo senior forty niners hall of fame a couple. More years like this This is the season you give me three or four more years. That's eight to nine seasons at a pro level and you add a ring into that. Yeah you know what you would play just long. As patrick willis. Bajic was going into this year. Okay let me rephrase this and see if you agree if george kittle. Is it in the hall of fame. Something had happened. A significant injury. Cross myself something wha- sterling. i believe it bro. I believe george killers.

"Versus sherman email rowsley k. One you know. I'm getting give it even though it's not sure you know prime richard sherman. I'm still gonna give it to twenty nineteen and of course jimmy ward and angie's guitar vs dante hitting her and Strong goals now. We were talking about hitting their goals. You know we do have to put the ask that. Let's be real. It's a different ballgame. Now i'll be there be able to play now might have been kicked out the league then for that hit. He put up here on this. I mean you might be suspended for hit like that now. But i think that i'm still gonna give it to the secondary because you know. Hopefully you watch the interview. The ground cone had with jimmy ward is a really good any You just you really. I've interview and jimmy was not a very outspoken. Man you know he's not a big self promoter. But i love you walked away thinking you know what. Yeah you know. Jimmy works a lot of crafts. And he you know he doesn't deserve it because if you look at it. The only issue with jimmy ward is really ever been health. He's a good player is a good safety. And yeah everybody says turnovers turnovers turnovers. But if you're not getting thrown at man jimmy ward brought up a good point that every word that nobody counts four thousand stops and jimmy ward out a couple of those and so i think that what you're seeing. The last couple of years is what has always been there with jimmy ward. He's just been healthy now that he's been able to play majority of the games and you've been able to see that he has italic definitely should have been first round. Pick in two thousand fourteen and you go to jakubowski tart who a lot like jimmy wars. You know just does his job and you know you could tell it. Twenty nineteen was the cost. Went out with that rib injury you know. The defense definitely did did fall off. Not a whole bunch. Obviously but if fell off enough. And so i think that it's important to note that jaguars came up with some big plays that year. You know the biggest obviously was when he became back out for the ball and that that was. A huge thing are huge. Play in that game. Yeah we ended up losing it. But i don't think without that play. You can't say that we come back and forced to overtime and so everybody will always remember the forest buckner scoop and score but cross qatar de for the ball was just big as a play and so i'm gonna give it to the twenty nineteen in the secondary but overall if you said you had to pick one defense. I think i'm gonna go twenty. I think i'm gonna go twenty twelve. I'll take justice. Smith dismiss Navarro bowman patrick willis and and all that don't they hitting their and the shaun golden so on and so forth our defense. Now you could also say that the defense kind of gaels the super bowl that year kinda like how obviously for a lot less of the game but you know the devote defense is gonna get it done but i would like to say that the twenty twelve defense would have if given another opportunity if you had to play that game over again. I think we shut down baltimore. And also i'll go to won't even go coordinators on this and i'll give it to vic fangio. I mean big fan. Dr robert sala. Wishing luck new york as long as it doesn't affect the niners but i did fangio's away to better coordinated than robert zala Okay so now. Moving to office side of the ball. You know we'll get a little bit coaching staff to we'll get that a little bit towards the end of the episode but going into office. Okay so you gotta start at quarterback so we'll go ahead and we'll go cap because we'll look at who started the super bowl versus jimmy garoppolo. that's tough but you know what i'll take cap and twenty twelve. I'm not saying. I would take him for the whole career that i'll take catholic. Twenty twelve four. The fact that the league having caught up to a cap came out slanging. And i think that a lot of times. We're calling kabir nick. A lot of people look at the beginning of his career and think that's all he is and then you have people who look at the end of his career and you know think of that's what it is so i'll definitely say colin kaepernick was shooting star. Louis you know he was bright bright but you know yeah he did say and we obviously know what happened at the end of why. He's no longer in the week. But we won't get into that. But i'm gonna check cap over jimmy and twenty twelve just because yeah you could say he didn't get it done. At the you know jimmy. With the overthrow capita fade rows to crabtree. But i would say that. If i could play patrick mahomes in the super bowl. I believe i believe that caps mobility would have greatly benefited in the fourth quarter. When you know the pastor start getting there and you start getting balls batted down on everything. Jimmy least would have been r. Chop wood at least been able to move off. This fought and you would have had the of his legs. I think that's what i hope. Cowboy mostly my super bowl is that hey the offense gets in a rut like you know. It happened to the super bowl. We got in a rut but having the threat of a quarterback who a office getting shut down balls. They're getting better down. Wherever you go and pick up a first now you know with your legs and yeah the offense might still be sputtering but at least you have you. The offense is moving down the field. Yeah you're not getting a big pass. Plays or whatever. But i mean you're getting i in the chain moving and i think that you even with the offense is sputtering. If we simply would have just been able to have a quarterback that would have been able to move the change with his legs. I do that super. Bowl comes out a lot. Different super bowl. Fifty four comes out a lot different Now maybe the chief do what baltimore did in super bowl atia. Hey no matter what every play. We're gonna hit colin kaepernick and so would ended up working the way they did. But i still think. I would have said cap over jimmy. Twenty twelve cap versus jimmy. Twenty nineteen now. You go to the running backs. I mean look lover. He's a dream. I was there for thousand. Nfc championship game amazing. But if you ever think i'm gonna take another ready back a diner history. Was that immediate. How doing doing legendary brother doing legendary. How about yourself but Let me know what you think of the comments We're we're we're breaking down. Twenty nine thousand nine hundred versus twenty twelve. Niners becky brad. Thank you three. Shaded are doing great. That's separate that's what's up guys. You're doing good or less. But i think and if you think i'm gonna take any other running back nine history besides number twenty one. You're smoking crack. I mean maybe the million dollar backfield. Joe perry any.

"So i don't think it's gonna work But patrick willis and john taylor got into the forty niners hall of fame that was announced during the state of the franchise of chapin Last week I believe or like last week garlic a little bit before And so they both did interviews inside them for this week so it has something to talk about And stuff so. I watch vocal on this morning just to kind of get a refresher in both really good. patrick willis talked about The sm like if he if he remembered when he last wore the jersey like the first time he will report Jersey in the second time he wore Blossom your jersey hammered. That had a little bit about that. He talked about they asked him. About warner andrey greenlaw. And how. They're like a good deal linebacker. Do in how that change and he said he really think they're playing really well and relax what they were doing. inside He talked about his feet a little bit and stuff which Always forget he had a lot of feet problems on. He mentioned that Quite a bit Iras how big of a deal. That was back then But yeah he. I guess he had to get a surgery on one any just kept having like bunions on his toe with big. Tell what he uses a push off of And stuff so. He said he had had a lot of problems And it was really hard for him. I'm during the time But yeah i mean there wasn't a whole like there's a lot of cool stuff on it but a lot of it was just like reminiscing about the days. I didn't realize he was a cowboys. Fan growing up. I didn't realize that because you mentioned that a couple of times. He said it was weird. He got draft like it was weird to being opponents uniform and he was playing but he said it felt right He talked about Some different things just like they ask questions on receiver actually played a video. Might be are now. We're going to get audio. That s the problem Comment we never got audio on that other little video. I've played I did turn up the volume I don't think i could all the way it's going to destroy my ears because it's going to go through here So yeah. I don't know and i don't want unplugging want wanted to be like a weird echo because i do have the for To monitor the stream do twitch so yeah That is pretty much on patrick. Was he talked about some other stuff. he's having his own business now Name and stuff like that in this. What he's been up to now in They asked about. It just has about a random lot of random. Stop if lead game every show Playing here About a lot of different lot of random stuff Whatnot man. He was so good just watching him. I just kept thinking about having bowman playing linebacker position. There were just so good as a duo is crazy They did ask about Well speaking a little bit John taylor because john taylor other interview To a bit Did ask combat john taylor. Because they were interviewing him next and unresolved interviews and stuff and He he just had a lot of respect for him in a lot of fun Talking about that and how would have been cool to be teammates of him and stuff in Just watching him go. 'cause like the all know the big names here like joe and steven jerry and stuff like that So he's always like well. This guy's also really really good And stuff like that. So it's pretty cool yeah Men i really wish like i could play it because it have been so much better to kind of like react to it. There's don't remember All the questions Pretty simple pretty straightforward He's just he's in a good Seems like he's in a good place now. he He got. I guess he got the phone call that he is going to be into When he was flying somewhere and He missed the call from jed which i thought was pretty. Funny that I guess he got Tax or something in Is up and got roped into what was going on so i thought that was very funny. what else They just reminded me how much. Sometimes i miss them but he was really good. They'll get wrong. I love the group. We have now but man when having bowman that defense something out sometimes They're so good Yeah i mean nothing to to to crazy About him that we could talk about Now did they ask you about no. I only be active about Trae i don't think so. The ad they ass. John taylor road trae yet. Actually get answer Actually like taylor with a little bit of a better more lively interview. Been well as well as bad. But you could tell taylor was a little bit more comfortable in the interview That would have more accepted. I didn't know So i like that whatnot Yeah i mean that was pretty much willis's interview. I mean that into crazy They i mean he just. He remembers it Rumors his career obviously in his all that stuff in he did a good job and he has his own business now on. So he's doing it i do. I do think. I still follow him on instagram. He has imposed he post. But like some of it's always gets lost in the instagram algorithm crap. So i don't see a lot of what he's doing But yeah he's been. Yeah you just been chilling on basically so Yeah i guess that's really it Her.

"Than and i should be. Yeah a lot of it was richard. Sherman was out. K one was out. deformed ford was out obviously at that time as well. So the forty niners had like four starters missing on defense. I think five starters actually because Jakubowski tart was also out. Obviously kate Quant alexander was out so they had a ton of injuries. That game But let's let's just not hope that they have a second time against the forty niners and and they still keep the narrative that the forty niners or super bowl team two more things before we go. We're going to get to the most important debate ever had on an honest nation. Podcast but you sent me this before. We started recording. I'd never would have seen this ocho. Cinco chad johnson tweeted on july. First fun fact. I would train and spar with frank gore every off season since two thousand six and included a picture and i have to say chad johnson in the picture looks pretty cut up and a lot bigger than i remember him. Then there's frank or who just he looks like a tank like you see. I see that picture them. And i'm like no wonder nobody could frigging. Stop this guy for fifteen years. Yeah i definitely willing to go out on a limb to say frank war probably one a lot. If not all of those behind sessions. Especially after. I just saw ocho cinco fight not too long ago woes it like last month and it was looked like he didn't really know what to do with them hands while frank gore. I trust him a whole lot. More a guy that's built for contact the guy who enjoys contact. Who did we hear from recently. I think it was. Patrick willis that even when they would practice light freight work did not have that in his body to say. Hey we're practicing lie. And i'm not gonna try to run over. Patrick willis year So the fact that he would continue to play or practice that way. Do i think that he carry that. Over into a sparring session. Absolutely i fully do believe he tried to knock off ocho cinco hand head and he wasn't just trying to play patty cake with him and say. Oh we're training. let's have fun. No frank worrying bill like that. He definitely tried to knock over said. Yeah and if he wasn't the second you through that first shot like frank is going to be like. Oh okay and then destroy you like of all the dudes that i could have to fight with. I would take ocho cinco so much faster than frank. Gore like. No thank you. I wouldn't wanna fight frank gore ten years from now. Okay like forget it. No thank you gore. Looks like a bad ass in this picture. That ocho cinco tweeted out which we will re tweet from the niners nation. Podcasts count as well so you can see it. He's definitely one of the last say former forty niners over the past ten years. He's definitely one of the last one. I would choose to get in a boxing ring with Who would be the first one Probably like andy. Lee would be my top one on. Why are you gotta do anyway like that. Okay robbie gold ow gs by the way that is my my biggest forty niners fear this year i think robbie gold is going to be awful and i don't know why they gave him that deal. He's made something like seventy eight percent of kicks the last two years. That's hideous so you heard it here. Rob is on the kickers. Don't matter train. No they do matter especially when there is bad as robbie gold has been. That's what i'm saying like. I was like legit worried that when they signed him to this deal and the more i think about it and the more i read he has hit seventy eight percent of his field goals over the last two years including two of eight from fifty plus. I have zero confidence in him. Leo yes so. I think he'll be money under forty yards. I think you'll still be money but it's can be a little weird once passed that forty yard spectrum Say it's forty five. I'm gonna say this anything. Forty in over. He's gonna be at sixty eight percent which is not is not good. But that's just my prediction. But isn't every kicker good from forty yards in it like if you can't make forty yards and then you shouldn't be an nfl kicker well it also limits while you put on the scoreboard. Say if you've got a a fifty or fifty one yard field goal here in instead you gotta punny in and take those three points off the board like one if it ends up being a two point game and you lost yet. You could've kicked that fugel but you don't trust one of your highest paid kickers in the nfl to to be out on the field and give the other team Fair field position. Yeah i'm not. I'm not loving that. Maybe that's just my july worry that could be. It's the middle july. So i'm just freaking out about stuff that's could happen with the forty niners but i don't know we'll find out last thing today you were. We were talking about frank gore. Frank gore was the last forty niner. Jersey that i had up until last year when i finally broke down and got george kiddle jersey. I know that many people have been flying to their computers and their phones to order the new red throwbacks. The forty niners have come in this year. Which looked absolutely fantastic. You put it to me before we started. What are the two best forty niners jerseys of all time. I think the forty niners are going to wear the two best jerseys of all time this season. Because it's the white throwbacks ninety four and the red throwbacks for ninety four for me and it's not even closely. Yeah though those are two really really really well done jerseys The white is definitely in for me. The white ninety four's the shadow black. That's definitely going to be one of my to the second one that that's where your your motor starts thinking is it. That dog is you. Know is not the blacks. It's not the blacks for me. I think the blacks look better on. Just say as fans you go to a gaming you have your niners black jersey or your at your house. Your you go somewhere. It's a better fashion jersey to wear it in that matter rather than seeing them on the field where i think it's way better as a fashion statement and then i kinda do dig the ninety eight once will know. Think about it. Steve young warm jerry. Rice warranty a warm frank. War patrick willis ladder. Great niners wore those ninety eight ones. I'm talking about the the debarring indie kind of style with the with the gold pants. That's what i liked about it. Is that the pants. Were gold what they wear now. The pants i it just reminds me of going to target like if it horrible so well hit bit him so well So like the dad pants. I'm not really to hone in on. So i do like seeing the gold one because it matches the helmet little better. Yeah but i'm not the ninety eight burgundy with gold pants. I'm probably gonna go with their original homes. The original homes with with the red solid.

"I appreciate it. Thank you, sir. Congratulations to you enjoy the ride. He's good. He still has the pipes so jealous. He's very good. He's a Phoenix Suns Hall of Famer and he's a basketball Hall of Famer. He's one of the greatest broadcasters that has ever called this game, longest to ever do. It started in 72 franchise was just born a few years earlier, which Jerry Colangelo and It's great about broadcaster is John. He is such a good person. He has been so kind to me. Throughout my time. You know all the years that we've interacted. He's just such a great person. So remember yesterday we're talking about Wikipedia. So I'm looking on his page, and I didn't ask him this, but it's just prior to joining the Sons of September 27 1972. McCoy was the voice of the triple A Phoenix precedence. Yeah, Exchange, right, right. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, he also did. A little Arizona Diamondbacks is Colangelo. Obviously right of the sons, and he was probably his owner of the Diamondbacks. When they first came in. I think he did a A weekend broadcast with the he makes coffee. Nervous. Still, Garagiola the great, great show Gradual and his son, Joe, gradually, Junior. What His name was was a GM there, So, yeah, he did do a little baseball, but yeah, he did. He did the Triple A giants way back when? Yeah, before he did. The Phoenix Suns. By the way, would you accept the apology? Uh, Mr Beverly Patrick Beverley tweets out the following at CP three Emotions got the best of me last night. My bad wasn't meant for you. I don't know what that means. Congrats on making it to the finals. Best of luck from Patrick Beverley on Twitter. But he wasn't meant for you took how many steps forward to hand pushed him in the back and knocked him down with them for the greatest restraint, which Patrick Beverley does not have in his body was Jae Crowder. Anxious cold cocking him. Yeah. I mean, that was anybody's Draymond green. You know, dream. I wouldn't push a guy. But how many? How many guys? You just don't want to punch a guy. What I'm thinking is money. Williams has got to stay in there, saying the huddle when the horn goes, we're not shaking their hands were walking off the court. Beverly went back in the locker room. But the worst thing to do is just, you know, Cold cock a guy in retaliation from that for that and get suspended for the NBA Finals. But You know, you get on other players for walking off the court before the horn goes, or Belichick leaving before the gun. You ever see such a cheap shot? Act like that. Just walk up and push a guy. Two hands in the back and knock them down like that. I don't even think the loathsome Laimbeer ever did that, you know. Uh, By the way, we got news. Patrick Willis is going to join us. Next heard 40. Niners. 11. O'clock famer. Yeah, 11 o'clock. We're going to be joined by Patrick Willis. We look forward to that, so we'll make sure that we get the John and Kyle to. We're going to huddle up and see when we can play that We're going to play that for you, 10, 50 or so. But now they have. Patrick Willis will kind of push that back a little bit. But state of the 49 ers. That's big topic today as well. Those 94 throwbacks, We're gonna do that, and we'll talk about it with Patrick Willis at 11, o'clock pop and one only here on the SportsCenter. Take Papa and learned to the house Your house. "The workouts of samson samson and them. Yeah i mean he's he's a workout freak via like that got me more pumped than almost anything recently but i do have a bold prediction out there that he's going to be really really good filling in for that ford because all the attention is going to have to go to the other side of the line. And he's a sneaky. Good player that the rams didn't need to go crazy going after the quarterback as much because they already had dominant pass rushers. I think he's going to have a very sneaky. Potentially pro bowl caliber season and those workouts. Only confirm that to me. Because i think the one thing that makes people question is is he big enough. You know to be truly a defensive end. Instead of a linebacker defensive in twitter and those videos show that he's got the strength to probably be a true defensive end on the other end. Their opposite of nick boza so kenny arthur of turf showtimes the rams community here espy nation. Join nine or nate and leo this week to wrap up their nfc west preview and they asked about samson and buca and kenny's response is basically like look if a boob was going to be this great sack artist. We would have seen it already. And so he was kind of pooh-poohing he said you know three to four sacks is probably what you're going to get from him but don't think he's going to be like a totally different player than he was with the rams so he kind of pooh-poohed your your point there levin. Now we'll see players break out and especially when given different roles things change you know. He's going to have a different role than he did with the rams he's going to have a role where it's basically get the hell up up the field every single play. You know we saw players last year. Talk about when the niners went to the wide nine then it kind of simple flight or simplified things for them because instead of the you know well if this happens i gotta go here and if this happens i gotta go there. It was get up the field to get up the field fast you can. And he is an athletic freak who excels when told get to. This spot is fast. You possibly can athletic freaks. All gas brakes are no wait back. Head coach jets now last thing before we go just want to give a little love. Say congratulations to legends. Patrick willis and john taylor are going to go into the forty niners hall of fame. This year. I've surprised. It's taken john taylor this long to get. It hasn't exactly been an active player in recent history. But patrick willis obviously was around far more recently than that. They were both in the state of the franchise. Obviously they were very happy. And humble blah blah blah. Any issue with willis. And taylor going into the team hall of fame Issue would be too strong of a word. But i'll say i wasn't a not a surprise to the took john taylor so long like he has a bit of an exaggerated history with niner fans because he did do so much in the playoffs he has some iconic place. I'm not trying to take away from him. But he's also a guy that had fifty five hundred total career yards and a ten year career with the niners like it's not like he put up these jaw-dropping seasons he had to pro bowls early in his career. He was a really good wide receiver. And i do think that if he didn't play opposite of jerry race he probably would have put up some bigger numbers but at the end of the day. He's somebody had fifty five hundred career yards so going in the ring of honor when you had fifty five hundred career yards is pretty unique. I would bet that there's nobody in any other teams ring of honor or whatever they call it that had fewer yards in the modern era. Obviously people from way back in the day. Yeah they had less because teams weren't passing it as much but like that. That's not very many career yards. He has this. just say what. It is an exaggerated sense of what he was because of news on three super bowl teams and had the game winning. Catch one of those super bowl. Like i said he had iconic plays so his idea of how good he truly was. And how big is career was is a bit exaggerated levin black hates. John taylor you heard it here first. Human wet blanket once again trying to poo poo. I kind of see what your point is but also when it comes to a team hall of fame. I'm pretty much like put anybody in that you want and the fact is john. Taylor does have iconic moments jerry. Rice has said in the past that he thought john taylor could have been as good as he was. He just didn't work as hard as jerry. Rice which shocker. Who did work as hard as jerry rice. But i mean taylor has some big moments the super bowl catch obviously the to ninety yard touchdowns against the rams at jed york talked about last night like he does have iconic moments. The problem is like the forty niners team hall of fame going to be getting pretty like their franchise that has just loaded with great players in their history. Patrick willis shirley gets end. Do you think navarro bowman will get in one day. He should i mean he made all pro teams. He made more. He made a lot of pro bowls and he made a. I wanna say to all pros or it was either two or three. Patrick wills obviously make five so many patrick welsh kinda in a different class. Only due to the injury bowman suffered probably but it is what it is. But i would put moment in. I think the real question mark one becomes somebody who didn't start with. The niners do put adjusted smith in because he had multiple all pros to. That's an interesting one by bowman. Had four all pros three pro bowls which never make sense to me. How do you have more all pros when that is the best. That your position than pro bowls. Which i mean everybody. I think i made a pro bowl a couple years ago. That's how many people get into this damn thing. The justice smith is interesting. If they had won the super bowl. I would think yes. He gets in but the fact that they didn't win the super bowl might hold him back a little bit. But i think you can make a team hall of fame if you don't start with that team. I mean how steve young start with the forty niners so that's not an obstacle he didn't play a majority of his career with the niners. Like it's not like. He spent his rookie contract with one team and then came over and spend a decade with the niners. He spent six seven. Maybe eight years with the cincinnati bengals and then spend what like five. What the niners. Like no actually split seventy seven. He was here seven years. He came over in two thousand eight. You just don't remember. They didn't have. They didn't have the success he did. You know in twenty eleven twenty. Yada yada but yeah. I think he's an interesting case because he did make those multiple pro bowls and he was a i. I have no problem saying he was the best defensive lineman on those teams. He was much better than alden. Smith as great as all and smith was getting to the quarterback he got to the quarterback and large part because justin smith was taking onto people and beating them often. I'll never forget the justice. Smith sack. I believe it was of drew. Brees where he's literally just shoving the offensive lineman into the backfield and he grabs breeze with one hand. And just drags him down. Obviously if not cam newton it's drew brees is a smaller guy. But he's still fully engaged with the offensive and is dragging drew brees down. He was one of the strongest dudes. I've ever seen on a football field. If you look a country strong in a dictionary it had a picture just because you looked at his arms wasn't like he was you know chiseled or anything. He had a lot of bulk. Obviously but he was one of those guys that you know you look at it. And he's like that's a big dude and he's ridiculously strong and there are guys that have crazy ripped arms bigger arms than him and weren't nearly as strong as almost like larry allen larry allen is probably the strongest person who's ever played in the nfl. His strength is just ridiculous but you look at him go. Yeah he's a huge dude but like his arms even fat on them a little bit of extra skin there and yet he was the strongest dude. Ever so it's you know if you have extra skin on your arms you you're not a crazy lifting weights type of guy. But he was just naturally crazy. Strong and justin smith is kind of the defense of counterpoint. to that. Yeah larry allen. My opinion larry. Allen is the best hall of famer at all time was great made all pro teams at multiple positions on the offensive line..

And in the fall of 1986, and I Check him out to lunch that day, the day of the game, and al gave me He's just a He's just a jewel of a person. I did see him. I think it was 2019. He was there when Charles and that group got to the finals, but he's been the voice of the Phoenix Suns since 1972 and he's a really good guy. So obviously Chris Paul and what Devin Booker is done. I don't know how hyper happy we are for Robert Sarver, their owner guy, but in any event I'm so great. Glad for the great shoes Aml McCoy, and he's going to join us at 10 30 to talk about Well, the I think you know, literally the rising like a phoenix to give me a comp in other sports that happens. I mean the ST Louis Rams and go from three and 13 to 13 and three. It just doesn't happen in basketball like this. I've never heard of a story. Like what L. McCoy's Phoenix Suns have done historic historic run to the NBA Finals. We'll keep in mind two years ago. They won 19 games and that was in the Navy two game season. I mean, it's a good mind, they fired their coach three games into a season. Earl Watson Ryan McDonagh deserves some credit for this. Shawn's younger brother was the GM of this team. And he brought a lot of the pieces in. James Jones is there to take the bow, and he's obviously brought in Chris Paul. But Ryan McDonagh did a lot of this work, but this was a Terrible team for a decade. And now all of a sudden to go to the finals. Wow. Awesome. Al McCoy, Like you said. It's just Sam will join us at 10 30. As you said the voice of the son since 1972 they The Celtics and 76. "They lost the game and can't the one thing I've said about Kansas City. When I was talking about the back and forth. The two teams is A zoo. You know, I felt that camp. I had the better defense that usually wins the Super Bowl. But I couldn't get past the fact that Kansas City was so explosive and they could score a lot of points in the short run, but there was never any point in that game. That they showed any sign that their offense is gonna do. Anything. I mean, you know, they felt last year they fell behind who jumped out on a 24 to nothing Was that Houston last year By Casey? Yeah. That was just, you know, a bunch of turnovers in all of this Kansas City never looked to me. Like they had the ability to compete. With the Tampa Bay defense and anybody who doesn't think Your offensive tackles. The 2nd and 3rd most important positions at a football team did not see what happened to Patrick Willis. Paul, I don't think I've ever seen a quarterback so often run 25 yards behind the line of scrimmage. I mean, it was just he was sprinting because he was trying to get away from the pass rushers that we're coming on, hoping that if he got that far enough back, he could create something and find a receiver. And actually, quite a few times he did somehow miraculously find a receiver. I mean, he threw one Unbelievable pass that hit the guy in the face mask. But he's dropping back 20 and 25 years because the past pressure was relentless. And if you look back at it, it's the same thing that happened to Green Bay two weeks ago. What with the brilliant Bachtiar e not being able to play the edge rushing from Tampa Bay on both sides. Got to Rogers that he wasn't as effective as he otherwise would. However, camper was nowhere near Is dominating against Green Bay. As they were against Kansas City. And once you took away the two tackles from Kansas City. It doesn't matter who the quarterback is there who the receivers were. Tampa Bay just dominated on that team that I never had. I kept thinking that maybe because Kansas said he's not at all year. They pop a touchdown, and if they popped a touchdown, I thought that maybe they could pop another one. But You're right. You kept waiting for something to happen, and it never did. And it never did. And it never did and never did in the Tampa offense was just as I Have said in our build up to the game. I have admiration for the coaching staff. There is big doofus is he was his head coach of the Jets. Todd Bowles is a great defensive coordinator and in terms of running an office, I don't know about the offensive coordinator. That area says it's so brilliant but area it's just He's been great offenses for 25 years in the NFL, he just genius said. They knew exactly how to work again. Kansas City that you know that dink and dump stuff that they kept doing and doing and doing and doing and doing it doing it doing it doing. I mean, the nine year passed the nine years past. The nine year passed the nine year passed the nine year passed the nine year passes the It just kept working, play after play after play, and then we need to do to throw the ball upfield. Here it is. It's like 2011 again. And the store on the ball that Gronkowski I made. Like a time warp almost, wasn't it? You almost what? You almost expected to look over to the sideline to see Bella check with his ratty sweat shirt and not area too. You know, you could not see Bruce Arians his face. I thought McCarthy war too big of a face mask. Did you see that thing that Aaron It was like the sort of thing that you were in Wisconsin when it's 17 below zero. If you looked at deep enough, you could kind of see our area does eyeballs. They also they never cut two areas. Those are the tool. Least that arrested coaches to look at him it Andy Reid never reacts in areas never reacts. Well, I prefer that than to seeing Pete Carroll. Yeah, just well. Pete Carroll was it in the Super Bowl? We could. At least we have that going for us that we made it farther than Pete Carroll baited. All right. It's 5 24 news talk 11 30 Wi said it's time for rapid traffic.
