I'm doing very well cuz football is here. So it was back Thank God is fully back. I Mean, I wish I wish the trends Kelsey wasn't hurt because I feel like that takes a little bit away from the opening game But it is what it is If you look at it though over the last However, many years the Kansas City Chiefs have been on this run. They've had relatively pretty decent help Throughout their whole thing. I mean they left they lost the left tackle in the Super Bowl That's why they lost against, you know, Brady they couldn't protect Patrick Mahomes but it's it's getting to that time in their Era it where gets hard, you know being a guy that's been on one of those teams a dynasty. They're not there quite yet but uh You know, they're well on their way if they could stay healthy and you would know better than anyone about dynasty So when would you say they're there? How many would they have to win before you say they're a dynasty everyone knows it's three Okay, I don't know what's going on. Everyone keeps on talking like oh This is you you into no, it doesn't matter if you get to the Super Bowl We went to eight straight AFC championships or something like that. Like you got to win three to get to be in Cowboys previous Patriots Niners Steelers It's not two. It's not two So tell me I want to get into your Fox gig and transitioning to meeting that since we're on it It's a good topic because I'm just curious because one of the things I'm looking at is someone who's scouting Over -unders to bet and and you know who's gonna win the AFC and stuff like that The I Motivation shouldn't say the motivation. I mean, I think the motivation is there even if you win But is it difficult or how difficult is it after winning two like they've won? It's very difficult To get geared up every Sunday, you know people don't realize How hard it is once you go out win a Super Bowl Okay, now they have two that when you win that first one you become a target everyone circles you on the schedule You win another one now everyone circling now now Divisions and conferences are designing their teams to beat you. So it gets harder and harder and as an individual player You know Your motivation you have to pull what what's motivating you because natural human instinct you're like You know, we got this we're good and then you know something happens you have injuries here an injury They're a player doesn't sign back because no two teams are the same. It's a new team every year. So it's very hard mentally To keep it going, you know And you have and they have a leader in Patrick Mahomes that can do that We had Tom Brady Tom Brady was always always on he was like he was always motivated So that gives you hope for the Kansas City Chiefs because they have such a great player and Patrick Mahomes who's their leader You know their best player is is their quarterback is their leader and the way he is is huge. Do you think? the intensity to beat the Chiefs to throne the Chiefs is Similar to what you guys experience and I ask you from this standpoint and I hope you don't take offense to this But I feel like I feel like the Chiefs are not hated in any way I'd feel like no one dislikes Mahomes No one dislikes Andy Reid you guys and I think it was mainly because of your success But there were people who didn't like Tom for whatever reason there was the ridiculousness with the flake eight the stupidest thing ever people didn't like Belichick, maybe You guys I don't think we're like Completely beloved whereas KC seems like I don't know who maybe people are sick of Travis Kelsey a little bit Like our teams you think is amped up to beat the Chiefs as they were you guys I Think the games changed the player has changed Just as an overall, I mean we look at games nowadays you got guys over here You know dapping up helping guys back back when we were playing the Jets when I first got in the league Bart Scott was mother -effing Billy O 'Brien on the sideline guys were fighting before, you know, it's just it's kind of changed And it could be for good or could be for bad. That's for weather for everyone else to determine But and also, you know, the Kansas City Chiefs that the Patriots were on it for 20 years Okay, like when I got there they already had three Super Bowls and they were on a little drought, you know But they were still winning, you know, they went 7 16 and oh they you know 14 win seasons they were still putting out big winning seasons for a long a longer time and You know the Chiefs just haven't been there I'm so I'm sure the Chiefs keep on doing well that people are gonna start hating them too, you know, yeah. Yeah The I want to get into some other stuff about the Patriots and and Belichick and Brady and but let's talk about you going to Fox you did inside the NFL. I enjoyed you on there I wrote that a couple times for SI. Now. You're gonna be on the Fox NFL kickoff show. It's remarkable I don't know if you've seen it Maybe you just know it off the top of your head because you friends with all these people but it is remarkable how every patriot is in media now is on TV, you know, you've got the McCordy's Gronk is part of the Fox family. Everyone knows about the Brady situation McGinnis the TV Bruschi It's like if you're on you were part of our Patriot team good love winners. Yeah people love winners Yeah, and they hate them so, you know you get a little bit of both They're either gonna love your hate you but they're gonna watch you It's like you had no choice but to go into TV basically after after all it's it's I don't know it's uh, You know when you play for an organization like New England and You've had the success that we had over the years that we played, you know It opens up a lot of doors and it's plain and simple. That's that's really what it is The the sacrifice and the efforts that we put into our career helped us after our career and a lot of guys you know, they have that hard work mentality that still want to stay in the game, but may not want to be coaches and And that's what media is, you know, that's what I feel. You know, I get my football fix by Going into a pre -production meeting and I haven't done it with Mike Vick or Charles Woodson or Chris and Thomas or Peter Shrager But you get your football locker room kind of vibe when you do those like when I was on inside the NFL I'm sitting there talking with Phil Simms Patrick, uh, you know, Brandon Marshall Michael Irving, Ray Lewis, James Brown and you have these These meetings where you just get to sit and talk football It's before you go on the lights are shining but you sit and you're talking stories You're breaking football down with people that play football So, I think that's a huge probably reason about it and you know, it's not you know We're used to putting in these crazy hours 14 -hour days Seven days a week don't get this year family and media, you know, like you got to do your homework You got to you got to watch all the games, but you know, we can still have a life outside of it, you know These guys are going coach. I mean people always ask me. Why aren't you in coaching and I go You know, I did my time Like I put my my 12 13 14 hour days in and when I would leave work I would see coaches families in the parking lot Seeing the coaches before they would go to bed because they still had another three hours. I ain't doing that Yeah, you know and then if you go somewhere else where it's not like that Then I'm mentally all messed up because well, there's some people that are doing it, you know So it's just I like I'm happy or I'm mad. I'm excited to go out and entertain and talk my knowledge When you were playing and you're playing days towards the end of your career Did you think you would get into TV or did you not think about it while you were playing? I Didn't necessarily think I'd become an analyst and do what I'm doing right now I always enjoyed creating content You know whether it was our YouTube videos our Instagram videos and all the content we build on J around je11 You know that was booming with with the Patriot nation that would always support, you know I always I found a niche in that and and I enjoyed that process of creating content going in and sitting in a you know in a editing room and and Filming up all this stuff and thinking it's gonna be terrible and then cutting it down and then you know having all your other team Because there's a team of people, you know That put put the work in to to get this good content out and I enjoyed it So I didn't know it was gonna be to the extent of what I'm doing right now but I knew you know, I was comfortable in front of a camera and you know, I know I faced for radio, but Thank God I won a lot of games Had it and just tell me were were there other networks like in the running to get your services Was it just Fox like I'd end up at Fox why Fox? Tell me a little bit about joining I want to say any other names there were, you know There was another network that was involved and I sat down and I thought Fox would be perfect You know, I got a couple teammates there with Gronk Brady You know, I'm really excited to get to hang out with you know Charles Woodson and in talk football with Mike Vick and Chris Thompson Peter Schrager and you know Fox is like a If you know the story behind Fox, I mean they were created as This little small sport network with John Madden.

Greg Mcelroy $200 Peter Schrager Patrick Mahomes Jimmy Trainor Brady Bart Scott FOX Ray Lewis James Brown Chris Thompson John Oran Mike Vick $10 $5 Sal Acada Charles Charles Woodson Julian Edelman Andy Reid

Fresh update on "patrick mahomes" discussed on The MMQB NFL Podcast

"Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones. Hello, everybody. Welcome to the MMQB Podcast. It is Wednesday, September 27, 2023. We are through the first three weeks of the season, headed into week four with the Lions and the Packers up in Lambeau Field starting it off on Thursday Night Football. I should be at that game covering it for SI, and it should be a good one. We'll get into that game a little bit later when we get to our top five games of the week. But Gilberto Manzano joining myself here, Matt Verdon. We have a lot to get into. This was a week that saw a team score 70 points. This was a week that saw the Bears continue to stink worse and worse by the hour. And this was a week that brought up a lot of consternation about the Jets and Zach Wilson and where this whole thing is headed. So we'll get into all that and more. But first, Gil, how are you doing? I'm doing well, Matt. But I got to say, you forgot to bring up also a week that we saw Taylor Swift in the suite of Arrowhead Stadium with Donna Kelsey. Come on, man. Yeah, I'm terrible at that kind of stuff because I'm so focused on football. But you're right. You're right. And the shame of that is I grew up a Chiefs fan, so I really should be on top of that. Let's start there. Do we think the relationship, is this something now that we think is real? Do we think this is like, you know, some people think it's a PR move. I'm more in the camp, but I actually think somehow this is real. I think Kelsey maybe drove the inside straight here with that friendship bracelet. He tried to get to her at Arrowhead. Do you agree or do you think it's PR? Yeah, well, first of all, sorry for making you talk about Taylor Swift. I know everybody's talking about everywhere, but I feel like I guess we have to, too. We have to. It's kind of a deal at this point, yeah. And you know what? I'm kind of with you. I think it is, you know, authentic, I guess. I won't say love, but dating here. But my conspiracy theory, Matt, here is I think they were dating before Travis Kelsey announced to the world he shot his shot after the concert. I think it was more like, hey, let's get some attention here. We are celebrities here. We need a bigger profile because, you know, Taylor Swift has, you know, worldwide attention. She needs more. So maybe that's where I'm losing myself in my conspiracy theory here. But, you know, if you're going to do a PR stunt for revealing, I guess, a new love life with another celebrity. That's the way to do it. Because the podcast for the Kelsey brothers, I'm sure it's blown up. I think it's number one on Apple podcast. So maybe number two is the middle week show here. I mean, could be. But there's a lot of tension over there. And it's interesting to see how it plays out and how people are very fascinated by this. And especially seeing all the TikToks of like, you know, all the wives upsetting the husbands saying, did you know about this Kelsey guy? You know, Travis and Taylor Swift really put him on the map and they all get upset. So it's been funny to see. It's funny because the Chiefs now have jumped from being this great football team that's won two Super Bowls in the last few years here to now they've become almost like Americana. Where when you turn on the television, you got Mahomes repping Subway. Mahomes is on State Farm. Andy Reid's on State Farm. On those Subway commercials is Chad Hennie, who Mahomes somehow cut into this deal. He's a retired quarterback who's now getting some play. Kelsey has DirecTV that he shares with Chris Jones. He's got Pfizer, which I'm sure in some corners of the world, heads exploded everywhere with that. OK, you've got Kelsey doing Bud Light commercials. He's on Lowe's commercials. And now he's got Taylor Swift up in one of the suites at Arrowhead Stadium, chest bumping, doing high fives, screaming some obscenities. And his mother's sitting there and they're renting out a restaurant after the game. Look, it's I don't know where this is all going. I don't know. Like if this thing's actually going to blossom into a full blown relationship and turn this could be friends like whatever, whatever it is, it's incredible. And on Sunday Night Football, spoiler alert, this is not going to be one of our top five games. The Chiefs play the Jets at MetLife. OK, where if you're into this type of thing, they're favored by nine and a half on the road over at SI Sportsbook. Taylor Swift lives in New York. I'm from that area of the country. That's not a hard commute to get to MetLife. OK, and I'm going to go ahead and guess she's not driving her Mazda Miata over to the game. She's probably going to be able to bypass some of that traffic. There's a damn good chance my opinion should be at that game. And if this becomes a twenty seven to three in the third quarter, we're going to be getting a whole lot of Taylor Swift's Travis Kelce. OK, so settle in. If you think it's bad before we're going to be at Collinsworth breaking it down. Torrico is going to be talking about it. It's it's unbelievable. You either love the Chiefs or you hate them with a visceral passion. I mean, I don't think there's anything in between at this point. Yeah, man, I think the NBC people, the TV executive are saying, you know what, this game might be very awful to watch. So can you send the car to get Taylor Swift so we can have a bunch of shots about her? Because Fox did it brilliantly there because it was forty one to zero against the Bears. And hey, just keep going to Taylor Swift and what, thirty four million people watch that game. So, yeah, you might be honest, I'm in there for her to attend that game. And and you talking about how how popular his team is. And, you know, it's just funny that it's in Kansas City. You know, nobody cares about those New York teams or the teams in L.A. It's in Kansas City. So a big win for the Midwest there. It's it's crazy. You mentioned that because I actually said something to my dad about this over the week. You know, this isn't New York or L.A. or Miami. We're like, listen, Taylor Swift to draw attention anywhere she was. But like there are celebrities walk down the street all the time in New York City. People don't even blink. It's like, oh, yeah, there's so and so. Right. And you just keep moving. Same thing in L.A., same thing in cities like the Miami, Chicago. Can you imagine being in Kansas City and you're walking around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce drive by in a convertible? It's just like, what happened? And, you know, Mahomes drives by. I mean, it's it's just you know, I've been to Kansas City many times. I love going there. The people are great. The city is an underrated spot. But it's funny because it's not a city that historically you would have A-list celebrities just jet setting around to get into. You know, I'm going to take my daughter to a game because she's a Chiefs fan. We're going to go out there in a couple of weeks, going to see him play Denver Thursday Night Football. And that's going to be like a happening at this point beyond just, oh, it's a football game. Which, by the way, I think I'm going to end up being hit in the wallet for the fact now it's a happening and more than just a game. But nobody's going there to watch Russell Wilson in Denver. Right. Like it's all about, hey, look at Kelce, look at Mahomes. Is Taylor Swift in a box tonight? Where is she? What's going on? I mean, it's my daughter loves Taylor Swift. And so worlds have collided. And she's like, if Taylor's there, we have to find her. I'm like, yeah, OK, good luck with that. You know, I'll do the best I can, sweetie. But it's it's incredible. I mean, that was in a four o'clock window where not much else was expected to go on. The Cardinals ended up upsetting Dallas. That was the dominant headline throughout the entirety of the four o'clock window. So that's where we are now in the NFL. Yeah. And it's funny because I had no clue that there was hints that she'll be at the game. And I saw videos where like there was like parties like, hey, let's see what Taylor Swift arrives. And they were just like, there she is. And they kind of go, wow. Like they just saw the winning goal in the World Cup. And it's worldwide hysteria there. So I had no clue. I was kind of like, I guess, you know, went for me with the pop culture. Maybe I'm a little ahead of you with that, Matt. But even now, even I was kind of like, hey, there she is. But apparently everybody knew besides me. It's funny. I swear to God, I actually had a buddy of mine text me at like eleven in the morning. And he was like, tell us what's going to be at the game today. And I had this brief moment of like, should I tweet this out as a report? And then I looked at Twitter and Rich Eisen was like announcing it to the world. And I was like, you know what, I'm not going to, because if he's wrong, then like everybody's getting crushed today. And if I'm right, I didn't break it anyway because Rich got to it. But my buddy texted me a couple of days ago and he's like, I gave it to you. You should have had it. I was like, it was already out there and I wasn't going to risk my reputation on whether or not she showed up to a Chiefs game. But he was right. Kudos to him. And yeah, we got plenty of camera time for T. Swift. All right. Speaking of the game, the T. Swift may be at this upcoming week, the Chiefs and the Jets. We're going to move away from the Chiefs. The Chiefs did their job. They crushed Chicago 41-10. They look great. So on and so forth. No shock there. The Jets, on the other hand, they lose 15-10. OK, they lose to the Pats. They were at home. They're 1-2 now. They play the Chiefs this week before getting a trip to Denver, which who knows what will happen there. And then they play Philly. So not a great three weeks upcoming. The Jets have been resolute, or Robert Sol, I should say, has been resolute. They're sticking with Zach Wilson. He gives them the best chance to win. Now, should be noted, they signed Trevor Simien to the practice squad, obviously could be elevated at any point to the active roster. As we know, Wednesday, early afternoon, it is that Simien is not the starter at Zach Wilson. A, do you think that changes by Sunday? B, do you think it should? I don't think it will change by Sunday. That's a very quick turnaround to get incorporated with the offense and just learn things about being on a new team. But I could see it eventually happening kind of like Mike White a year ago. And the thing that's tough here for all the Jets players, a year ago, they had to do some kind of behind the scenes. Like, hey, we've got to pull this guy. He's not doing well, that being Zach Wilson. And they brought in Mike White. And it's tough for everybody. You don't want to turn in a guy and be like, hey, you know what? We're not feeling well. We're not clicking here, but we've got to go a different way. Hopefully you understand. So it's awkward. They're going to go through it again. So it's up to Robert Sol to make a decision. Enough is enough. You saw, yeah, they won that first game and it brought you some wiggle room to make an actual legit decision there. But he was bad in that first game. And then the last two, you've lost and he's gotten worse. And he spends the entire week, I'm sure, hearing from teammates, hey, just don't turn the ball over. Just kind of just play safe and give us a chance to extend drives and make plays. And now he's out there playing scared. Now he's overthinking. So when you lose your confidence, when you're playing slow out there, it's just a bad recipe. So I do expect you to eventually take over as a starter. But Matt, just saying that Trevor Sigmund taking over as a starter is not a good thing for the Jets there. So I get there's not a lot of options out there, but like you've got to try harder if you're the GM Douglas there. And at some point, it's like, are you just refusing to take the L on Zach Wilson? You want to get more opportunities because, you know, that was your number two pick. That was your baby. Or maybe it's on Robert Sala being this guy who really believes in his players. And I'm not going to go away from you after one one or two bad games like you did it last year. Do it again. I don't understand what's going on with here. Yeah, I mean, listen, I fully am on board with what you're saying. And so Trevor Sigmund has been in the league. He broke in in 2015. He was a legitimate starter, started 14 games through Denver in 2016, then 2017 started 10 games. Like over that stretch in those two years that I just referenced, he completed just over 59 percent of his throws with 30 touchdowns and 24 picks. Not feeling great about it. Like since then, he started a grand total of six games. So since 2018, the last five full seasons and now the beginning of this one, he started six games. And would you like to take a stab at his record in those six games? Is it one and five? No, it is not. It is 0-6. So he has not been the answer, everybody. He has not been. He started on the 20-21 Saints who actually had some talent and he went 0-4. He had 11 touchdowns and three picks, but he completed 57 percent of his throws last year with the Bears. Started one game, played in two, which was awful. Like here's what I think is going to happen. This is just based off of knowing that area and knowing the way that team operates. I think Zach Wilson is going to start on Sunday. And I think Steve Spagnuolo is going to actually physically put him through hell. I think that game is going to be Spagnuolo throwing about 900 different looks at him. Blitzes, dropping eight, all kinds of things. And you don't have to blitz to get home against the Jets because their offensive line is one of the worst in the league. The Chiefs this year have given up 33 points on defense against Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff, and then, of course, the Bears leading the Titties. I do not think the Jets are going to move the ball a ton in this game. I think that's a fair statement. I think what's going to happen is after about three or four drives of Zach Wilson getting booed off the field, we might see a change of quarterback. Whether or not that is Simeon or that's Tim Boyle who's been the backup to this point, I don't know. I just think at some juncture you get to where Robert Salah is going to be forced to make a move. Whether or not he wants to is irrelevant. He's going to be forced to. And people who say, well, the fans don't dictate that. You're right, but when you have players who are visibly frustrated during the game as they were last week. When you go through a week where Joe Namath, who is the most famous Jet to ever put on pads, is saying he's got to go and, by the way, we might have to fire the coach and the GM. That starts putting an enormous amount of pressure not only on you but on your owner who at some point is going to be like, hey, Robert, it's time, man. We can't do this anymore. We're getting killed on the back page. We're getting killed in talk radio. Coaches may not care about that stuff. Owners do. And I think you're getting to a juncture where if they're down 14-0 midway through the second quarter and Wilson is, whatever, 3 of 7 for 14 yards, I think you have to yank him. Even if it means nothing in terms of winning the game. Even if Simeon comes in or Boyle comes in and everybody's bad, you have to show you're trying. You have to show you're making some kind of an effort to win the football game. Because, let's be real, barring an act of God, the Jets are not beating the Chiefs with Zach Wilson. It is not going to happen. That might be the biggest discrepancy in talent in NFL history at the quarterback position in one game. Patrick Mahomes is not losing to Zach Wilson. And he's in all likelihood not losing to Tim Boyle or Trevor Simeon, whoever else the Jets will want to throw out there. But at least you're showing that you're trying by putting somebody else out there. By trying Zach Wilson out there to go 10 of 23 for 100 yards and 2 picks, that's like taking a white flag and just jamming it into the field at the 50-yard line. And I think at some point here, Salah's going to be forced, like it or not, to make a move. Yeah, I'm with you. At some point when maybe you're down 14-0 after 2 or 3 minutes and you've got to treat it like a preseason game. You know what? Okay, it's going to be a loss here. You're not going to have a chance here. You're at home. Who cares? You're not going to beat Patrick Mahomes in the Chiefs with Zach Wilson. So try something new. Bring in Tim Boyle. I can't even say that seriously. Tim Boyle. Bring him in. Bring him in and just see what he has there. It's a preseason game at that point. Or then Trevor Simeon, I know it sucks for him to come in on short notice and figure it out. But again, preseason, just kind of do your thing, get people in line chemistry-wise. So I think that's fine. And it's just awkward all around, Matt, when the greatest player in franchise history, Joe Naaman, is saying, I've seen enough. Get him out of here. This guy's terrible. I'm sure Zach Wilson is aware of that. People hear about that. People get asked about that, especially in New York. I don't know if you saw that video, Matt, but Garrett Wilson was in the middle of an interview and somebody broke the news saying, Hey, you just got Trevor Simeon. Can I get your thoughts? And at that point, probably in his head, thinking, okay, finally, it's something different. But at the same time, it's kind of like, it is Trevor Simeon. I can't get too excited. And to his credit, he played it safe and said, you know what, I'm cool with whatever player they bring in for the organization. I support all my guys. But he knows he's frustrated inside. It's at some point, and I put it on a rundown here for the show, like, is it Carson Wentz? Is it Matt Ryan? And my answer to that is, look, there's a reason Carson Wentz is still out there, right? And there's a reason. Let's be real. The Colts and the Eagles both, in consecutive seasons, were like, you know what? Get out. We'll eat so much dead money, it's unfathomable. Just get out. Get out of our building. Right? Washington gave up a real pick for him. Saw him for, what, half a season? You know what? Taylor Heinecke. We're good. Bring in Taylor Heinecke. And then didn't resign him and let him go to be a backup at the Falcons. So you have three teams now in three consecutive years who are like, get out. We're done. We're done. Get out of the building. Matt Ryan, great career. He's done. It's over. He's not. Bringing in Matt Ryan to play behind that offensive line should be a federal crime. There is no world that that's going to succeed. Sometimes, you know, in life, you need to just accept reality for whatever it is. The reality for the Jets is their season's over. No matter who's playing quarterback for them, they're cooked. Now, I do think you have to move off of Zach Wilson here at some juncture because you're just going to lose the room otherwise. But bringing in Trevor Simien, putting in Tim Boyle, bringing in Carson Wentz, you're not going to the playoffs. I don't care. I don't care. Carson Wentz, yeah, sure, he'll throw 20 touchdowns. He'll also throw 15 picks. And he'll infuriate everybody in the room by like week 12. You're not going to win enough games. Your season was built around the idea that Aaron Rodgers was going to come in and elevate what was a strong group. And yes, defensively, it is a very good team. Offensively speaking, it's Garrett Wilson in what exactly? I mean, Breece Hall is a very good player at times. First of all, in week one, he was unbelievable. The last two weeks, he's done nothing. And by the way, I don't put that on Breece Hall. I put that on the fact you can't block. You can't run block. You can't pass block. Now Dwayne Brown's on IR. It's a sieve. You know what Chris Jones is going to do in this game? I mean, Chris Jones is going to basically be taking handoffs in this game. It's untenable. And that's on Joe Douglas for not fixing that offensive line or doing much to try to address it. So, it is what it is. I just think no matter who they put back there, whether it's Wilson, it's Simeon, it's Boyle. Name your random quarterback. I think they're done. And I guess my last question to you on this is, do you think this season could cost Salah his job? Or do you say, well, you know what? He's going to get a pass here because Rodgers blew his Achilles out four plays into the season. Yeah, you know, I think it might be a pair, you know, with Douglas as well, the GM. I mean, you know, he's done some good things with the draft. I get that. But like, the more you're making your points, man, the more I think about like, okay, they had Aaron Rodgers help you. Like, yeah, they're probably a playoff team, but it doesn't feel like they would have been a contender. Just kind of seeing everything now. And then without him, the glaring need of offensive line is like, you didn't do anything to fix that in the off season. Instead, you're throwing money at Dalvin Cook who could barely break tackles anymore. There's a reason why the Dolphins drew a line in the sand. Hey, you're not the same dude anymore. That's why the Vikings release them. But you went all in because you were desperate to make some noise. And let's face it, Aaron Rodgers hasn't been the best GM, you know, over his years with the Packers. Like, he kind of tends for star players and a little over the hill. And Douglas has done a good job getting young guys, but they really overlooked the offensive line. And Matt, they really got, you know, I'm going to say killed because that swap for the trade from the Packers and the Jets, they missed out on a left tackle. I haven't even been paying attention what the left tackle for the Steelers has done. But little things like that, like you go for a defensive end instead of an offensive lineman. You know, you don't, there was no, like, how do you go into Dwayne Brown and Makai Becton as your tackles? Like, if Aaron Rodgers was healthy, he was going to have been probably taking a lot of hits, asking a 39-year-old to move around the pocket to do what he used to do for many years. So that was already kind of a bad issue. So I think for as much as we want to, you know, say, hey, Robert Salah, do something, step up. You've got to help out your team and maybe your job's in the line. I think the same thing with the GM, Douglas. I get it. He's had some very memorable draft classes, but a lot of big misses. And I think sometimes, you know, it's just awkward to have, you know, the GM fires a coach and you kind of bring in a new person. Like the Chiefs, they like to kind of parry everything. Good teams parry their GM and their coaches. So I think for me, you kind of have to clean house. But then again, you're kind of essentially saying, all right, if Rodgers is ready next year, we're kind of going to try to get with somebody else. And if you're the new GM, the new coach, you're probably thinking like, do you want to go and risk all our entire season on a 40-year-old now? So it's a very tricky thing all around. So I think they might be safe, but you're probably thinking about it if you're the Jets owner.

"It's not about making a ton of money. I've made enough money where I'll be set for the rest of my life but at the same time you've got to find that line where you're making a good amount of money but you're still keeping a lot of great players around you so you can win these Super Bowls and compete in these games. Okay all right so you ask for more money because you want the next quarterback to benefit I think is what he's saying. I don't want all this money but I mean I have a responsibility and duty to the other quarterbacks to make sure that they get as much money as possible. So really I mean it's really their fault. I don't want all this. Paulie? But the headlines around this this comment that you played where Mahomes wants to take less to win to ensure his legacy trophies. Yeah he came off very good yesterday with this very well. But did he mean to come off this well given the headlines? I don't think the average person will look at that Patrick Mahomes is going to make $500 million. He's not getting less money. He's just shifting money. Yes he is. He gets every dime that's coming to him and probably more because he signed early. He's actually going to make more money because he signed with the Chiefs at the early point he was available to sign. So he's got another big contract in him at least. Yes yes. The thing that all of the headlines are leaving out is that yes Patrick Mahomes said he cares more about legacy and rings than he does money. And then after that he says but on the other hand I also got to make sure that I'm getting taken care of. They're completely leaving that part out and they're like legacy and rings is all that matters. Mahomes doesn't want money that's not what he said at all. But on the other hand I mean I got to make sure that I'm fairly compensated due to my own value. You know they were leaving that whole other part out. Yeah. Tom Brady still got his money. He just deferred his money a couple of times. Yes Paul. Yeah Mahomes' contract is like you said it was team friendly early. In 2023 he'll make he'll get paid 40 million dollars. But then in 2027 he's gonna make 59 million. It ramps up. But by that time they'll restructure it. He'll get a whole new deal that will go for you know eight more years. Yeah. It's all shifting money. Yes. I mean he's going to make a billion dollars probably in just salary in the NFL. It is a little bit like what Bryce Harper did. He didn't take the most per year. He took the most and that allows them his team to spend a little bit elsewhere. Yeah and at the time I said that is a team friendly deal that Bryce Harper signed. People are like that amount of money. I go yes we're going to look at that contract and go god Philadelphia got a bargain with Bryce Harper. Absolutely and I think Kansas City said it at the time. That's a team friendly deal that he was going to sign. I don't know where salaries are going to go. We already have this in soccer where you have you know players who are making 100 million. Ronaldo is making whatever he's making in Saudi Arabia. Messi I think was offered maybe double that if he went there. But I don't know where we're going with quarterbacks. Are they the ones who gets to 100 million in U .S. sports? Per year. Per year. 100 million who gets there first? What sport? Yeah what sport? Because Ohtani is going to get probably let's say he did 10 years at 600 million. I like how you casually throw that out there. Yeah I know. 600 million. I remember when somebody got a million dollars in salary in baseball. I'm like golly and then it went up to like 3 million with Nolan Ryan and Ricky Henderson.

Remember when Carmelo Anthony came in the studio in New York and I think we played the guess how much that sweater is that he was wearing. Did we find out how much he paid for that sweater. Yes. He kind of didn't want to do it because it was probably a pretty expensive sweater. So we're walking out seat and are like what is it. What is it. And then one of us goes a thousand years you're like you're short. Yeah. You're short. You're short. You're short. You're short. You're short. He whispered to us like a thousand. "And you can have guns, but the NBA is a business. That's it. They have rules. They don't want to be associated with this. They're trying to bring in as many people to watch their product. They don't want this in the game. They don't want this with their athletes. You can have it. You can have it privately. You can have a license, all of those things. I certainly understand. But not this. And he was warned and I'm guessing they're probably sitting down for half a season. But this is where if you don't help him get help or he doesn't understand what to do, those 40 games, that's a lot of downtime. And that's when you get in trouble. That's what I wondered about this. The first time around, this whole summer, who's checking up on him? What's going on? Is he meeting with people? Because that's a lot of downtime over the summer. And it didn't take long. And here we are again with Sean Morant. But that was scary yesterday because TMZ was reporting it. And when TMZ reports it, it is different than ESPN. And TMZ reporting, it's rarely good. And that's the first thing I noticed was, oh boy. And you immediately jump to the end of the story and then work your way back. So the commissioner, I don't know when he makes a ruling. I think we were trying to have the commissioner on this week. Maybe we get him on next week during the NBA finals. But just to ask if he's met with John and what is the time frame for a team that is one of the best teams in the NBA? Yeah, Paul. And his punishments are going to have repercussions. He didn't make a second or third team all NBA this year. And if he misses, let's say miss 30 games next year, there definitely can't get first team, second team all NBA. That comes down the road when he wants that super max deal and he can get the max deal. Now you're saying, oh, tough for him. He can get 200 million, not 290. Well, that is a big hit if you're expecting it, if you think you've earned it, which he did on the basketball court.

"If the results are interesting. Would you rather have your team get swept or lose in dramatic fashion in a game seven? Seton, would you update the results from the first hour? Results right now, Dan, 66 % of the audience would rather lose at the buzzer in game seven. I'm surprised so many people would get swept. Yeah. If it's close and I got swept, I still got swept. And Paulie brought this up first hour. When you lose in dramatic fashion in game seven, that sort of stays there because the title was hanging in the balance. When you get swept, it's over. It's like, all right, pull the band -aid off, done. But when you lose, let's say this goes seven games, Celtics and Heat. And then you lose and, three games to none, three games to one, and then lose in dramatic fashion. That hurts because you had it. Yeah, Seton. Yeah. I just don't see how there seems to be, you want to at least be competitive, right? Well, the reason why we brought this up yesterday, because how do you feel if you're a Laker fan? You got swept, but you could have won two, maybe three of those games. You didn't win any games, so you got swept. History will say, you got swept. Here's Rod Brendemore, the Hurricanes head coach after getting sort of swept by the Florida Panthers. The unfortunate part of this is that he's going to look back and everyone's going to say, you got swept. That's not what happened. I watched the game. I'm there. I'm there. Yeah, he's arguing against the facts. It's his opinion they didn't get swept, but you got swept. They were all one goal games. So I get that, but you still got swept. Yeah, Seton. I had said that about the Lakers after game one against the Nuggets. I had tweeted that the Lakers should feel good about that game because they were right in it. And people were just killing me because it was just like, close only counts and horseshoes and hand grenades, pal. It was almost a blowout, too. It's like, dang. Why do you do this?

But then when you go and look at these young people that lost their lives and their families are devastated forever, one of the young girls, her brother, her brother died in her arms. Word 8, where's their GoFundMe? Where's the support for them? Why are we not supporting them? As a nation, why is this not getting the coverage that the Tennessee shooting got? No, I know why. Sunny Hostin Discovers Black Quarterbacks

"Let me get back to the brain dead amongst us from the view, sunny hostin, and I want to actually play that clip because we have the clip now available. I want to play the clip of what she actually said. So you don't think I made it up. Roll the clip from sunny hostin. The only thing that would have made it better for me is, you know, finally we know that black quarterbacks can lead teams. And our smart enough to lead team. I would like to see I always knew that. We knew that. We knew that. But you know, it takes people a minute to catch up. How about some black owners? Some black owners. Cheryl Lee Ralph brought us to church with lift every voice and sing. I felt like I was watching Wakanda, actually. I was just like, this is amazing. But we still need more black owners. Well, first of all, Wakanda's not even a real place. And second of all, what does a black owner have to do with the team's success? Does it somehow make the team better because the person is black? You know, it's like me saying we need black we need more white defensive bags. So we could say that white people can run a defense. Shut up, woman. Also, the fact that we now know that black people can run a team, I just named y'all these quarterbacks. I mean, they say, we now know that black people can run a team because two people of African descent are in the Super Bowl. I mean, God, dang, they forgot about Russell Wilson. They forgot all about Russell whisky going to the going to the Super Bowl. I think Russell Wilson went to the Super Bowl a few times and probably one of the most winning his quarterbacks of his time. I mean, we can go down the list Cam Newton went to the Super Bowl as well. Young guy, unorthodox quarterback, because he was the part of the biggest quarterback I've ever seen. They can run. I mean, we can go down a list. You know, Colin Kaepernick sucked even though that's the person that they beloved. And there are so many other great quarterbacks that have played. And we talk about college football. I mean, there's a plethora of great quarterbacks that play in college football. The kid who just won the husband trophy. I think he's biracial. Caleb Williams, that kid is that kid is literally the only other person other than Patrick Mahomes that can gun that thing like that. But with the funny thing is in the spirit of saying we need black quarterbacks and black quarter we can do this. We kind of crap on the white quarterbacks that can actually run.

The Super Bowl With Two Black Starting Quarterbacks Went Viral

"So sunny hostin decided to make a commentary about the black quarterbacks in the Super Bowl. Mind you one of them is biracial. That means one of his parents is white and the other one is black, which is Patrick Mahomes. And then Jalen hurts his period of both his parents are black, they light skinned and so you know they mixed with something. But anyway, Jalen hurts being black, she gets on, and I'm paraphrasing that she made the statement to say that now we know that black people can run a team and there can be black quarterbacks. Well, first of all, that's why women y'all need to stick to y'all sports and leave our sports out of it. Especially if you ain't never watched football before, you know what you're talking about, you're just going on a rant about the Super Bowl the first one you've ever watched in your life. Black quarterbacks have been a thing for a very long time. Some of the greatest quarterbacks in history of the NFL were black quarterbacks. Somehow she forget about and I'm just going to say a brief number of them. Each of you get about one moon, way back in the day. Quincy Carter played for the cowboys. I mean, he was he great. He was a star quarterback on the cowboys. Dak Prescott. I mean, is he not black? I guess you don't count because he ain't in the Super Bowl. But then you go through Donovan McNabb, Steve, mcnair, Steve mcnair, you can go through college football and then go to the NFL. And they may not have panned out, but Vince Young was one of the best quarterbacks who ever played in college football in my opinion. He was one of the best quarterbacks to ever play. He got into the NFL may rookie of the year and then he didn't play after that because of his personal decision making. We can go down the list. Who you got, Nick. I mean, I think I got a few of them. Oh, you took my now. Lamar Jackson, which is the most dynamic quarterback in the NFL. And then you have Michael Vick way back in the day. Michael Vick came out. First round draft pick. Gun in it. Michael Vick was a tremendously great quarterback. I mean, I can go down a list of how many dynamic quarterbacks. In the funny thing is, is that they like to make a spectacle and try to point out everything they can to make us divided. And I talk about the black national anthem here in a second, but they try to make us divided.

A Maricopa-Style Super Bowl

"Yesterday morning, I was going for a walk and the Super Bowl was in Phoenix and I saw a bunch of guys wearing eagles gears and again, I don't have strong opinions about the eagles or the chiefs honestly. Don't really have a dog in the fight. And so I said this non sarcastically to this group of guys, maybe it came across our cast. Hey guys, good luck today. And they stopped. They said, we don't need it. We're going to wet. I was like, what? That's a very strange way to respond. And unfortunately, that was a pattern of eagle fans that I encountered in the valley. They were very, very convinced that they were going to win. And they didn't. But however, to the eagles community, they definitely do have a rather strong argument that bad things do happen in Maricopa County when the referees don't do their job. Okay, so let's just indulge me for a second. I know a lot of you in the audience say Charlie, why do you talk about football? They're the worst and all this. I love football. I'm not going to apologize for it. Yes, I know I have to I have to tolerate their wokeness and all this stuff. But the beauty of the sport of football is worth cringing and complaining during the microdosing of woke ism. This is the zapruder film. I'm sorry, it has to be pretty film. It is the end of the chiefs game, the chief's eagles game, which is now in eagles, folklore, gonna be analyzed more than that of the Kennedy assassination. Watch this objectively. By the way, I did not want the eagles to win. The whole day I was bothered by the fact that the eagles fans are we don't need luck. We're gonna win. Okay, pal. And also, I really, I like Jalen hurts and I like Patrick Mahomes, but just look at this, this is how a Super Bowl should be decided. No, I liked the outcome and I'm telling you, this is an in. This is a bad call. It's bad for the sport. It deteriorates trust in referees. Let them play, especially that's two minutes. There should be an unspoken rule by NFL officials that you only throw a flag unless it is convincing.

"8 piece sports and Mike Reeves, the chiefs win the Super Bowl in a thriller correspondent Greg eklund has the story. Harrison butker kicked the game winning field goal from 27 yards out with 8 seconds left to the game and the Kansas City Chiefs edged the Philadelphia Eagles and Super Bowl 57, 38 to 35. After a Super Bowl loss to Tampa Bay, two years ago and losing in the AFC championship last year, chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named the Super Bowl MVP. I appreciate it because of the failures. I mean, the failure of losing a Super Bowl and losing AFC championship game and it gives you a greater appreciation to be standing here as a champion. So Lee, last year, was the year of the wide receiver and NFL free agency, but this year appears to be all about the quarterback. So let's begin with Patrick Mahomes, you know, who you advised on his ten year $450 million contract extension back in 2020. Which at the time, of course, made him the NFL's highest paid player, talk to me about Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers, Geno Smith, Derek Carr, all the quarterbacks, Jimmy Garoppolo. Where are the most likely landing spots? And of course, who goes to the New York Jets? Well, I think you need to start with it. With the premise that this has become a quarterback sensor, we and never has that position been so critical. And the game revolves around the concept of a franchise quarterback. And most importantly, in critical situations, the quarterback has thrown a couple of interceptions around his booing, the game is getting out of hand, what does his you know? And he compartmentalizes off the quiet mind and elevates his level of play to take a team to and through victory. So who goes where? We've ever seen a free agent quarterbacks. As 6 months go by in the off season, the game starts to beguile them again and they change their minds. Yeah. It's going to be musical chairs in this off season. I'm curious to get your take on the era of the mobile quarterback versus the traditional pocket passer. Tom Brady kind of exemplifying the traditional pocket passer and your client Patrick Mahomes as a mobile quarterback. There's deeper value you could argue for traditional pocket bastards because by definition their careers last longer, they're not as dependent on their bodies. There's less wear and tear. But I want to get your take on whether it's this mobile quarterback moment is simply kind of just in fashion for right now. And it's going to give way to traditional podcasts once again. When you talk about password, you really is not a scrambling quarterback. He's a pocket quarterback with a capability. When you look at Lamar Jackson, that's a running quarterback. Third down two

Why Chiefs will win Super Bowl: experience and talent

"Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes goes into the Super Bowl as the NFL's MVP. But he knows that she's often can operate as efficiently as the blocking by his offensive line. Everybody knows that everything starts up front. And so it would be a great challenge for offensive line to try to do what they can in the run game and the pass game of protecting and run blocking. Mahomes is wary of the eagles sack totals with 70 during the regular season since sacks became an official statistic in 1982, only the Chicago Bears in 1984 and the 1989 Minnesota Vikings have had more. "Look better. That's Lisa, except in reverse. Lisa goes to grabs the shot and turns it upside down and then turns around and says. What do you think? Actually, that's very interesting thing. They've actually plateaued, right? Which I think is interesting. And we'll support sort of feeling of positions being anchored. But we're seeing prices go up. What happens if gasoline prices go back up? Is that inflationary or disinflationary? Well, it's inflationary mechanically because of the percentage change is higher. And it does have more of an effect on people's spending behavior. But the bad news is gasoline prices went up over the month of January. The good news is they're going down in February. So when you look at the numbers for the January CPI, you're going to have a little bit of a head fake there. One thing we can say is natural gas prices have gone down significantly. Overall, it's kind of hard to make a prediction for energy prices in general. Oils up a little bit, gasoline was up a little bit, but natural gas prices weighed out. The only certitude we have is a three of us combined no one tenth of what you know about the national football league is Super Bowl about. We were talking about that. It's an interesting Super Bowl because you've got two good teams and one great quarterback in Patrick Mahomes, but does America really care as much. It's too small. I don't sense this too smaller cities. So you don't get the New York Giants versus New England Patriots ethos or even the Los Angeles. It's got enough for that comment. Well, I mean, I love Philadelphia too. But I mean, it's not the kind of glamorous media matchup that the networks are just got a nice story. He's played very well. And they have overall very, very strong team. They're favored now Kansas City has Patrick Mahomes. Do you think that people would care more if they had Monday off? Yeah, I just do it the following weekend and just do it on a Sunday and do it the following weekend where you get the Monday off. I don't get it. There was some pushback though because it would take away from president's day. I don't get either and I'm not going to wear too much there. I'd never do celebrate presidents day as if it's like presidents day. Actually. Really? John, this is a sword topic. Yeah, was that? Way, way back. Way, way back, you had the 12th and the 22nd. Because we had two seconds and you all got together in celebrated the president. Lincoln and Lincoln and Washington, and there was a raging debate when they made it sensibly on a weekend to help families and all that. But to a whole cohort of fossils, it's never been the same as actually celebrating 18 years. Do you go on a communist march for Labor Day? How does this work? No, we do that May Day. Just wondering how serious do you take this stuff? I'm not being insensitive. I just, seriously, they parade military vehicles in front of Tom's house on mating. All right. I watched the film and be better tomorrow. Yeah, we may not make you the starting producer by tomorrow. That's going to be a game time decision. We may be playing like Taysom Hill, right? Yeah, we maybe the Saints So the NFL since 2011 the NFL network, they do this top 100 lists, so my understanding is the players do this in the off season. And it's based off of last season. And how they rank everyone, But if you retire, you're not eligible for this list. So you won't see Ju breeze on the list this year, nor the Drew Brees play all that great last year, and he did miss some time. But Just to throw that out there. So in 2011 Tom Brady was the top player than in 2012 and Rogers 2013, Adrian Peterson, 2014 Peyton Manning, 2015 J. J. Watt, 2016 Cam. 2017 and 2018, Tom Brady 2019 Aaron Donald. And 2020 Lamar Jackson now 2019 That was coming off the season or Patrick Mahomes. Had 50 touchdown passes. It was the M V P League. He wasn't not only was he not The best player in the league in the rankings. He wasn't even the best quarterback. Mahomes hasn't been on this list yet. Is mind boggling now. 2020, right. Lamar Jackson and the M V P. It does make sense. But still I would rather have Patrick Mahomes over Lamar Jackson, but it's based off what happened the previous season. So it is what it is this year. They're down to their final 10. They have not released the audience. This is gonna come out August 28th right, You said So here are the and no order The 10 players that are left that are on the list. Davante Adams. He won't be number one. You have. Josh Allen, Tom Brady, Aaron Donald, Derrick Henry. DeAndre Hopkins. He won't be number one. Travis Kelsey. He won't be number one. My home's Rogers and T J Watt T. J What won't be number one. So if I throw out what Chelsea. Hopkins. And Davante Adams. Who is the number one player. That the players vote on between Josh Allen, Tom Brady, Aaron Donald, Derrick Henry. Patrick Mahomes and Arron Rodgers from last season. Who will be the number one player when this list gets revealed. On August 28th. Look at that NFL network going a little, uh, Saturday night on us. Who's your vote there? Trace. On who it will be for me. I think this is the I think it will be Patrick Mahomes. You're not feeling I want to say yes. Because I thought my home should have been number one on the list. The last two seasons. I've done rant after rant over this in 2019. I was stupid. And in 2020, how it was. I don't want to say stupid, but Because of what I just said. But I've said before, right? I think Mahomes to me is the best player in football the last two seasons. Now the players they disagree. Now in 2020 you go the offensive player. Okay? At least it's understandable. This is nothing against Aaron Donald Aaron Downes, Best defense player in football. How do you put in a quarterback driven league? Defensive player over quarterback in 2019. When Patrick Mahomes threw for 50 touchdowns, that part to me, I don't get I think it's going to be Rogers. Do. I think it's gonna be Rogers? He won the M v P Just because you were the M V P doesn't mean that you definitely are going to be voted number one. But is that gonna be nuts? The three years where Mahomes has been eligible for this, there's a shot. He will not be voted the Not only the number one player He won't even be voted the number one quarterback If it's not the homes, it's going to be a quarterback, right? I'm fascinated by McDonald's. I'm fascinated by where Derrick Henry is. Derrick Henry was a flat out stud last year. I'm not sure if it's going to be my homes. Now, If I was a player voting, the play that intimidates me, the most would be Patrick Mahomes. I think it's going to be our Rogers. I do. And isn't that wild? Right? If we did a draft tomorrow, number one pick you but all the players in league the number one pick is Patrick moms. And Patrick Mahomes has the potential on Saturday. Not gonna freak out yet. To not be The number one quarterback. And this top 100 list from 2019 2020, and then potentially 2021 coming your way on Saturday night. That's wild. So play that was on this list that was number one a bunch of years back when he won the M V. P was Cam Newton. Because of a misunderstanding. Cam is now going to have to be placed in Covid protocol for five days. Now. He could be a part of team activities virtually like the meetings and everything. Mac Jones going to be taking all the number one reps because camp isn't allowed to be there. Here was the statement from the Patriots. On Saturday, Cam Newton travelled to a club approved medical appointment that required him to leave the New England area. He received daily Covid tests, which were all negative due to a misunderstanding about tests conducted away from the NFL facilities and as required by the NFL. NFLPA protocols can will be subjected to the five day entry cadence process before returning to the facility. Campbell continue participating virtually in team activities and return to the club facility on Thursday, August 26. So that's the Patriots statement. The question is is the Patriots follows? This is Cam's fault. And it seems as if And it's weird because the Patriot rate particularly plan everything. So I'm going to think it's more on cams side of things. But shouldn't this be communicated to him? But I don't know what camp told the organization. It appears that Kim did get tested throughout this, you know when he was away. But the place he went to wasn't n a approved NFL testing site, I guess. That's the way that Tiki was kind of explaining this before we did get on the air. But It's just It's one of those things where it just shows you right because can clearly not vaccinated. That even when you're trying to do the right thing, there's protocols in place, And if you don't follow those protocols, If this happened in the regular see, like right now, it's It's no harm it so harm. It's five days training camp. I still think Cam's gonna win the job even though I would go with Matt Jones. I think Cam is going to win this shop. This happened to the regular season..

I think he will. I think it's talent speaks for itself. I think they will put a better offensive line around him. I think they'll get some defensive playmakers and ultimately when you are damn good. When you have an opportunity to compete. You have players who will sacrifice a little bit just to be on the team. "And acknowledge what Mahomes has done so far. But I guess what I don't do. This is this is a wild kind of wacky. I guess this makes me a black sheep in the sports media business. When I refused to do Is Give Patrick Mahomes Credit. For something that hasn't even happened yet. Can't instead of saying if you want. If he wins this game, he's going to go down as the greatest quarterback of all time. If he beats Tom Brady and goes back to back, Patrick Mahomes is gonna be the greatest quarterback of all time. We've never seen anything like this guy. That is so dumb. I don't know the people that say that I don't know if they just feel like Gotta have this opinion because It's gonna You know, separate me from the pack. It's going to give me shine. It's gonna make me Different. But I just It zig. No ring a lot of NFL history. I'll give you an example of what I mean by that, okay? Brett Farve. You go back to Brett Farve. He won an M V P award. Just like my homes. Any one. Super Bowl..

"They did it last night and drunk cranks up his parka to show an NFC Champions T shirt. And then Brady tilts the camera back to himself with the raised eyebrows again, and I was like I was like that's that's pretty darn good. I had to laugh. I really did. I had to love so he's in a great mood, and here he is talking about The moment of the game Fourth and three end of the first half. You punt know we're coming back out. And that was a great call by areas I think Because if you don't make it, there's still only 25 seconds left, right. But if you do make it, the reward is huge. And this is this whole Bruce Arians. No risk it. No biscuit paid the man who enjoys his biscuits. Do you can tell by sit by just looking at the bill, the injured his Brady on the call. Yeah. You know, I be a once that wanted to go for it. I like the call and was, you know I'm gonna do whatever he asked me to do. And then, uh, you know, Byron dialed up a great play. We got behind the defense. We had a couple other opportunities, too. So Um, you know, it's just a great job by Scotty running a great route getting open, and I just tried to later lay out their foreign friend to go grab it. How about the night and day difference between Rogers and Brady? Not only not only in tone, but in subject matter over here In one corner, you got Roger's going Yeah, it wasn't my decision. It wasn't my decision, then over here and embrace again. No, I like to call from being no, that was gay. And he shouted out the guy who's gonna get a lot of run the next two weeks. Offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich dialed up that, you know, let's go to the end zone. Well, this is another. It's don't think we're going to the end zone. Let's go to the end zone. Maybe they didn't get the memo from a d D Murph, which reads as follows. You gotta bring it to get into 100% my friends, and then we got to hear from my guy. My guy. Patrick Mahomes is your guy. Now they had a nasty championship game against each other. Now, correct. My eye was gonna look this up before the show. I didn't do it. I can Somebody help me. Do you remember in that epic epic epic game? There was a couple of things one member of the Phantom Roughing the passer call. Yeah, The little Grace and Tom Brady shoulder pads that kept Dr alive And don't forget D Ford lining up offsides present me. What? What? What? What? Copes. Polly, help me out in that game was that pre overtime change rules did Brady did my home's not touch the ball? I don't believe he touched the ball in overtime. That was that was with current rules. Murph. It's just that Brady marched down and I think he handed it to Rex Burkhead, who punched it in, but this was a game over homes and get to touch it, But he did not touch the ball came out, but that's developed special right there. Just keep him on the side. You wanna You wanna be the cheat and it's still the blueprint which really the most effective way to beat him. If you don't want to beat you keep his ass on the sidelines to run the football. Or see his ass on Sunday told telling her go ahead.
