"Iconic Ness of the movie has actually kind of given a pass. That no one's offended by the use of transvestite or transsexual in the context of that movie. Yeah, I think everyone understands these were the terms of the time. When they did the remake with Laverne Cox, who was a new Laverne Cox from orange is the new black. But great transgender actress to play frankenburger. I think she was even like, oh, you know, should we update this a little bit and then finally decided, no, the song is so iconic, these were the terms of the day. And again, it is a blatant love letter, and I believe Richard O'Brien identifies as trans if I'm not mistaken. Yeah. So, I mean, it is for this group of people, this group of people who felt like they were outsiders who maybe didn't belong in mainstream society. And these are the people who got dressed up and he went down there and were so creative and sort of building this culture around it. It is a very and always has been a very safe space for that to occur. And so it's just a great movie for a lot of reasons and that's certainly one of them. Yeah, I can't imagine how many kids in Indiana and Iowa and Kansas and Georgia were just had the opportunity to find themselves when they found midnight showings of Rocky Horror picture show and the people who were there that were like them that were and this was the only place in their life that they could go and just be themselves like that. It's really sad to think of, but it's also really heartening to think that they finally did find that place, you know? Absolutely. And what it did was it was like, it created an excuse to put on the corset and the high heels. Although you really need an excuse. But if you were someone struggling with in the 1970s, especially with your gender fluidity and just to have a reason, no, mom and dad, it's a movie thing. You wear these costumes and it gave them a reason to actually go and be themselves and Tim Curry over the years and Richard O'Brien had both received just hundreds and thousands of letters and shout outs from people that said, you know, that confirm all of this. They said I was able to be myself and I was able to come out because of you and because of this film and what it did. So it's been a really sort of heartwarming thing, I think. For the creators and the actors. Yeah, no, for sure. And again, one of the other reasons that it gets a pass is because that show is so reaffirming that one of Tim Curry's lines is actually in one of the songs. Don't dream it, be it. And people just latch onto that because if you just stop and think about what it's saying, it's kind of all you need to know. It's almost like the campy version of Yoda's do or do not. There is no try kind of thing. You know? If you build it, they will come. There are all sorts of classic movie lines. There are. And that is one of them, for sure. No, it is a super empowering statement. And, you know, it's the kind of thing where I don't think Richard O'Brien really thought about that specific line too much at the time. But it ends up having so much meaning later on. And kind of a fun side story that we didn't get to earlier, but Tim Curry lived near the waverly in Greenwich Village in New York when this was going on. And apparently wanted to go and make an appearance and just knock everyone's socks off. Yeah. And called ahead to the theater. Even showed up. They let him in and then I guess it was a couple of, it sounds like a couple of rogue theater attendants that hadn't let him in. We're like, no, this guy's a fake. Like, let's get him out of here, and they literally threw Tim Curry out. Wow. He gets incensed, gets his passport, and shows them, and I think it was like the manager or somebody who had the authority to let him back in was like, I'm so sorry. You come back in and he was like, I wouldn't dream of it and he left. Oh, really? Yes. Wow. That's how you show him curry. I guess so. He's like, I've got a kitten to hold in Los Angeles. That's right. There's some other pretty neat little things about the movie too. One of the ones that I love is Easter eggs. There are actual Easter eggs. Hidden in the movie, unintentionally, because apparently they had an Easter egg hunt on the set and they didn't find them all. So if you really know what to look for, I didn't see them, but you can find three different Easter eggs throughout the movie. And that's not actually the term or where the term Easter egg comes from strangely enough. Apparently, that was from an Atari game developer from 1980. That's who really coined that term and where it came into use from. I think if I'm not mistaken from our Nintendo episode, that was Warren robinette, who wrote the game adventure and that had the first Easter egg. Oh, is that right? I'm pretty sure. I saw a guy named Steve Wright. Oh, really? Yeah. Coined the term? Yeah. Okay. I think the first Easter egg was an adventure, though, but maybe I got you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What else, chuck? Well, Susan Sarandon, who was, they were all very young, they're on their sort of late 20s, early 30s when they were making this. She got pneumonia. Not too long after she got there. And they shot this movie at a real, old English castle named Oakley court, which is now a luxury hotel. Even though I think at the time, it was falling apart such that the owners wanted to raise the place. So they shoot it in this legit drafty old castle. She gets there, she's got pneumonia. She's half undressed for half the movie. There's a scene in a swimming pool. She's freezing to death and feverish, you know, that's cold chills. Right. And apparently just had a pretty rough go, but was like game through all of it. Well, even worse, and I saw this confirmed by her. She was like, you have to get me some heated place to be sick in between takes. So they gave her a trailer. And it did in fact have heat, there was space heaters in it, but they ended up burning the trailer down. It was that kind of shoot. That's amazing. Another bit of trivia that all Rocky Horror fans know, but those disembodied lips at the beginning were the lips of Patricia Quinn, who played magenta and usherette, but and signed on with the idea that she was going to sing that song. And she said she loved it. I think she said it was like the most beautiful song she'd ever heard. At the time. But when it came time to actually sing the song, Richard O'Brien sang it and Patricia Quinn, I think somewhat disappointedly lip synced it. She was really mad about that. She had basically joined the cast originally for the stage show because of that song. And so she thought she would have the opportunity to do it in the movie. And I guess he had her sing and she didn't find out until the movie was released till she saw it that she wasn't the one who was singing it at the beginning. Not cool. No, but I think it was a good move, because if you listen, I don't think it would be the same with her singing. Yeah. And I think it definitely like you said with meatloaf was he had been in hair right before this. He had a duo album with this woman. And he was sort of around, but he definitely was not a big star at all. And Rocky Horror, his role as Eddie. And especially the great great song hot pituitary bless my soul. Such a good song. I think people saw that, and they were like, there's something

"And then there were other things that I didn't have any idea where ADHD that shocked me. And I also had all of those. So I think where I would love to start is what are some of the most common symptoms behaviors that everybody knows and is aware of, and then what are some of the less common symptoms that maybe people aren't equating with ADHD? Love. Yeah, so I think that right now there's a really big shift in our culture moving from the stigma or the stereotype is what I mean of ADHD just being for 11 year old white boys is essentially what like everybody thinks about, right? Like when you, when you hear the term ADHD, we picture a little white boy in a classroom kind of bouncing off the walls, or we all had that one classmate that just couldn't keep their hands to themselves or like we're always getting in trouble. And that's what we associate with ADHD. And so when you're a, you know, a grown woman who's just kind of like hanging out on TikTok being assaulted by all of this information. You're just like, excuse me, what? I had no idea. And I think that a lot of people, especially women, are kind of waking up to this knowledge of ADHD and so while not everyone on TikTok is an expert and not everyone on TikTok is a friend. It is still really a good thing that all of that information is out there readily available to the public. So things that are considered symptoms of ADHD would be impulsivity. So not having a stop and think moment before you take action or before you say something. So you interrupt people a lot, you make rash decisions, you jump to conclusions, you have a lot of difficulty with patience and waiting your turn. Being distractible is obviously another one that is right up there in our level of consciousness. So like impulsivity, I think most people would associate that with ADHD. And then distractibility as well. So what's interesting about this though is most people most people associate the distractibility as a deficit of attention. And I just want to take just a little pause here and say, it's not actually that we don't have enough attention. We just struggle to regulate our attention. We have just as much attention as everybody else. We just have trouble putting it on the right thing for long enough to accomplish the goal, okay? So I think that's an important note there. Things that might be lesser known, you know, we have fewer dopamine receptors. And so I think this is really pertinent to our conversation today. So dopamine is a neurotransmitter, and we have fewer dopamine receptors, meaning essentially, like our brain gets less dopamine than the average typical brain. Which means things like laundry and dishes, they can really feel like death. It's not just that we are lazy or that we just don't feel like doing the laundry of the dishes or whatever it is. It's like, we have an actual physical reaction because we don't have the dopamine that the average human does. And so we don't get those little hits of like, oh, this is going to feel so good when it's done. We have to consciously create that four ourselves, which is something that can be done through therapy and coaching. But that is a very important part. And just decide note here, when we do talk about just like the timing of your diagnosis, estrogen is also a neurotransmitter. I never knew this. I just had a podcast interview in the spring with doctor Patricia Quinn, who explains me that estrogen is a neurotransmitter. And so when your estrogen levels drop, your ADHD symptoms increase a ton. And so it makes sense a lot of women are diagnosed in their mid life when they're starting perimenopause or going through menopause because of the lower levels of estrogen, the heightened ADHD symptoms are now not being able to be managed. That was just a ravager. I'm going to hop back on here. Now, it's, I love that you say that you don't like the word hyperactive, it's very cute. I understand. It's adorable, but it doesn't feel cute. It's rocky. Okay, so for people who even have inattentive type of ADHD, which is the more like Spacey kind of like not able to pay attention type of ADHD, there is still a level of hyperactivity, but the hyperactivity happens in our brain. The hyperactivity is the spinning of the brain, the constant intrusion of thoughts. The never ending barrage of like, maybe I should do this. Maybe I should do this. I'm not sure what this is. I don't know. And just like the spin cycle inside of the brain, that's where the hyperactivity often takes place and because we who are because women are so socialized to be pleasers and to be rule followers, most women with ADHD internalize so much of that hyperactivity. So I am actually like physically hyperactive. I did not have the ability to internalize all of it. I was bouncing off the walls. I was jumping around. I was always knocking things over and just being really, I was a lot. It was a lot. And but most of the time, if you're not super hyperactive, you're going to internalize it and it's going to be an internalizing of an internal hyperactivity, which I think is absolutely fascinating. And it makes perfect sense. When you set it to me like that, that makes perfect sense. I'm like, yes, that's exactly who my brain is. Like it's sheer madness. My brain moves so fast. Totally. 24 hours a day, and yeah, it is really

Are you gonna be entertained. Do you want to be entertained. List martyrs mark mark put together a list of big iconic alison film. Well one interesting thing. Let me tell you about the one. The cat was known as jaws but also with trixie was original name for that character and the lips. And that's where trixie michelle got her name from see. I didn't. I didn't know that that mouth actually had a name. Well interesting because you're sculpture definitely echoes to the rocky picture show with the fangs and the and the juicy red lips and certainly somebody who is a fan of rock harrow picture show. Are there ever do a museum for rocky horror picture show. It's certainly what would be a must have item for museum. It most certainly would be so. Let's get that museum going showy. Now i mean i don't i don't mind the i guess the reference to but it's not it it didn't it didn't come from that you know it's like that really You're the lady who selling like a glass jar at a yard sale and people say can i put candy in it and it's like now it's only for coin soon now. One of my favorite mouth is audrey to from little shop of horrors. Years was among one. It was a puppet that was kind of okay for the musical and the original musical was more of a comedy it was more of a parody of musicals but when turned it into a film They brought in a muppet workshops. Lyle conway who was One of the h- lead creators of the dark crystal and they wanted this. You know this audrey to to be threatening and juicy and mysterious and queer and so the audrey to voice my lawyer was supposed to be clear. Lee voiced by levi stubbs of the fort tops and in the film. They added the line. I i don't think audrey to such a healthy girl and mr bush. Nick says well frankly between the both of us neither audrey one was gender non-conforming right because it's has audrey is the name traditionally girl's name but the voice very masculine right. Yeah so does that. Make gay when someone's assigned agenda that doesn't match expectations that's considered gender non-conforming so internal okay. I can't agree with that. But i don't know that makes a gay but that's not really your point. Is what your point when we wrap saying to you. Don't let me die on the desert. Karen audrey to in that film is just really something. That is extraordinarily magical because it's all practical effect and it's all mouth really you know there's no is there's not much of a body i mean there's you know it's just vines and so it's really focus in on that whole idea like this mouth is here and it's very threatening because what else does it do besides singing suck blood and eat people. Well you know the the original play. It killed rick moranis or you know a killed. What was the name of his character. And the and the more seymour pretty much. Everybody died in the broadway musical and film and the poster's supposed to and they become part of the puppet but they would test audiences in the film it became so terrible this mouth just devoured everything and took over the planet. They're just like no. We need a happy ending. Because you know it's hollywood well and part of their the song somewhere. That's green is referencing. The fact that is sung again by audrey to seymour saying like feed me to the plant. So i can live forever as part of the plant and the plant is. That's not what that song about argue with historians and with the holiday. I know that chaudhry ovary will and it was. It was about her imagining going off the suburbs with seymour. And then there's a reprise in the film and in the musical where she tells seymour to feed her and she once again sing somewhere.

"This. Yeah, I mean it. Um, that's funny. That's disappointing. Yeah, I think when you look at where there's football team is, it is attrition. It is Mismanagement. It is the look if there wasn't mismanagement, you wouldn't be looking for new GM in a new head coach, But I think if anything, the last three weeks is just really brought home the last four weeks, five weeks, whatever it is Has brought home how bad it was for the last 3 to 5 years, and that goes back to a new general manager and bad decisions that lead to where you are now a head coach that just didn't click with this organization. It all didn't click with the roster didn't build a roster that worked for him. All those things add up, then it's like I I go back to 2000 and eight 2008 didn't happen because they were bad in 8, 4000 and eight happened because you made bad decisions in 12345 2006 and seven and then it ended up being a known 16 seasons. Yeah, let's keep in mind that they went one and seven their last eight games in 2007, bacterial, six and two right after being six into and they just they fell apart and done. Showered by bio in 16 was followed by two and 14 was followed by two and eight before they won their last four games. So I've seen it, okay. Yeah, I know you have. But the same like the biggest difference here is that Yeah, Coach Patricia Quinn. They came in. They want to make this cultural change. And it was all way upstairs. I mean, if you think about a lot of ministry, the people have changed out. I don't know if it was that way in 208. It might have been that way. But I know it's a lot that has to be done. Not just on the field, not just with the GM, but I think administratively to up top. Well, what one thing that was different in 2008 was after four games or five games. Didn't fire the coach. They fired the general manager and president Matt Millen and broad in Martin Mayhew. And if you really wanna look at you got a pretty nice job through with midway of 2014 15 and then got fired after that one in seven starts, but they put a lot of pretty good players on the field. They really did Pro Bowl players. They didn't blow their high draft picks. You know what kind of don don't me Mike and you, you span all of this. Is. This is the first time since million morning leg when they will bring in a new GM in a new head coach, and I don't count Mayhew is a new GM, bringing in a new head coach because he's already here. This is the first time that assuming they don't go from within, and I don't think we anticipate that they will for a general manager. That You're gonna get new in the head Coach knew in the GM since Millan and morning leg And before that it had been a long time before they did that as well. So that this is something very new for the franchise. I would agree with that. I were assuming that Darrell Bevell is not going to be promoted to full time, assuming that he's not going to be the head coach and I'm assuming that three of the internal candidates will not be the G M's not that they won't be retained in some way or another, because they're all talented football men. I have. My just my guess is you will have different leadership in both positions on and I'm really a proponent. I really believe this. I've said this before, and I understand the Patriot way and all that. But I'm a proponent of competitive thinking. Contrary thinking otherwise. If everybody just got the same thoughts and things go wrong. How do you get out of it? And I think I think you need competing voices of competing lines of thought. If you're gonna build any sort of business, because if you just had one way of doing that, and it doesn't work, right, how do you get out of it? But you know, that's a little simple. You also need a cohesive plan. And you also don't do that. Look. Baltimore Pittsburgh They.
